Sloops, Loops, Loop back again, man.
On this Thursday night, Mares and tell you guys, man, salute, man.
Salute supporters. Man.
Sim is gonna be here about 15 minutes late.
So we're just waiting on him.
Let me talk to you about some stuff in the MBA men.
Some stuff from poor George and James Harden, because most of show type is gonna be on the Knicks.
But, you know, before sin gets in here, man.
Thank you, Sam. Thank you.
Salute to Sam Johnson lento Mike Morgan.
Triboro Eddie Rolled, Rolled, rolled in, Frederick.
I mean, with all you guys, man.
Suit! Everybody's coming here now.
Um, this is crazy event, so I'm going to start with this poor George crap, man.
So poor jurors comes out today and basically throws Doc River under the bus.
Ralph Jean Francois! Not past Napoli Salute, man.
Uh, Mike Morgan.
Eli M What up? What up? What up on? Just to get to this man.
You know your boy Poor George is bugging your boy.
Paul. George is bugging.
I think you score was a 10 points in game seven against the Nuggets.
This guy has the nerve to talk trash about divers.
Now, granted, Dr does have his issues, right? You know what I'm saying? He is not a coach to adjust.
Well, that's been known for years.
I mean, if you heard I believe it was Shaq or Kobe, say that during, what was it that way? No, no, it's Kobe.
I think that said it.
Yeah, I can't remember.
It was Kobe said during the playoffs.
Something like that.
Like, No, no, no.
Let's Phil Jackson, My bad through Jackson said it that you know he's not gonna He's not a culture a just basically the attack.
And basically, you know, the game is coming, just like just, you know, play it smart.
I mean suited, darling.
Man sues everybody him and yes, December 11.
I'm definitely covered in the preseason games.
Other? Yeah, the priests games tried covers many N b A games.
It's possible for the Knicks, so definitely stay in tune with me a Z.
We go along this, uh, interesting next season, but just to go off of what your boy Doc Rivers said, I mean, Paul George said, um, you know Paul George says that in this Yahoo report by Jason Owens says that Paul George basically blame on Doc on.
I'm gonna play a little bit from the old small podcast, so just listen up.
T Louis in, You know, me playing for that team and still being close to some people on the on the business side of it.
You know, you heard there was some rumblings in the locker room and stuff with a little rougher than we thought it would be.
Um, you guys seem to make it work and and put it together as much as you can.
What do you guys feel like? Obviously with the letdown of last season, what do we the store for this upcoming season? Personally from you.
But from a team as a whole for me, you know, because a lot a lot of people like I don't know, I work out and I trained hard every summer, right? This was the first time I wasn't able to do that because I had things past summer.
Going into last season was the first summer.
I wasn't able to do that because I had shoulder surgery.
Eso I missed the whole summer of training.
And so when I came back, the team was already, you know, I mean, rolling.
They already got, you know, I mean, we started off, okay, but we didn't start off as well as we wanted to, but I feel like they already had a little chemistry going.
And so when I came into the mix, I'm I missed the whole, Like, I missed that time in the summer of playing pickup ball, hoping, getting a rhythm, getting a flow, working on my game time, right? The time is right.
So when I came back into the league and started playing again, I just felt off like I didn't feel like a part of the team.
And then, you know, the way I was being used I feel like I was, you know, doctors trying to play me as like a Ray Allen or like a J J. Redding.
Pin downs are like, I could do it, but that ain't my game, you know? I mean, I need some flow.
I need some mixes of pick and rolls.
I need some post ups, just different touches.
You know what I mean? And so it was just, you know, let me just stop it.
There uh I don't watch a lot of the Clippers men, but the times I did watch it.
Look as if Paul George is not doing anything he wanted, right? Um, they kind of from what I saw.
Now, if your Clippers you know about the Clippers morning, me, please let me know in the comments, man, I'm not saying trying to act like I'm an expert, but I saw a lot of isil.
I saw poor George have a lot of rain to do whatever that we wanted.
Um, now again, you're up 31 in the playoffs.
You're seeing it.
So you call, you call yourself playoff P.
Right? Um, sometimes.
And I'm not saying this excuse for Doc, But when we look at guys who are top level stars, sometimes we look atyou to say your talent supersedes any type of system we could put in.
When we call God superstar, we call Well, I called Twilight of Superstar call the A. D superstars.
Maybe we need to refine What? That word superstar.
I mean, maybe needs I've given out, like candy because this guy's talking about I don't depend out like Ray Allen and JJ Red****.
I'm pretty sure that was the only way you you're allowed to play in the Clippers.
I'm certain I watched games.
Hema can sign with the Mets.
I'd be covered to determine made McCann.
I'll be covering, um, submits talk.
But, you know, back to back to the NBA.
So, in what world was he not allowed to play like Paul George? Poor George is not a superstar.
Charb Oh, not even close to it.
Paul George is not a superstar, but again, that's what I'm talking about.
These guys gonna lead.
They want to play their way.
They pushed coaches, get fired, get these public coaches and blame it on.
No, sorry, they get good coaches not saying doctors is perfect under perform and start looking at their own games.
You're up 31 and then you blame it on Doc Rivers.
The same guy cheating Doc Rivers daughter, By the way, which I think is e don't know how you doing the coach's daughter, all the women in the world, you know? I mean, but now let's get back to his interview with Paul George that last season was just hard overall.
But I think for this year everybody's starting off on a healthy page.
We're starting off on the same page.
Me and quiet get some time together, working out.
I think everything is just not Rush going into the season.
Last year, everything.
I think it happened for a reason.
I think you're gonna benefit from that because going through the wars and the struggles and ups and downs I went through in the bubble, now you are coming out to start again with a new coach with a pressure.
Mind the coach with a guy who probably, you'll probably get communicate more because the more close to our age.
And, you know, I'm saying we come from that same era, but I think you will benefit from those those hard times.
They all come together more this year because I started school.
Let me let me ask him, What the hell does Tyronn Lue do? Kai's associate.
What's up absolute? Can someone please under a Tyronn Lue does coaching wise and Jean Francois let me know because I'm not a Clippers fan and I don't watch enough games like that.
But the times I saw him on prime time, it seemed like quiet.
P G had a lot of leeway to do whatever they wanted on the court.
So I'm just confused.
You got time? I lose a public coach, I think is, uh if you want to call him a coach, I'm just confused as to like, What is it? When did these guys take responsibility? He saw my old We don't have enough time to Joe.
They're a bunch of players that came in some play with each other the year before.
But again, everybody's looking at you poor, poor jobs that your town should be able to supersede whatever system that you're in.
And now you blame it on Doc Rivers. And fair enough.
Jean Francois said that, um uh, that Doc Rivers wasn't using PG right, But again, you're up 31 with what was it like a 12 15 point lead in the third? You couldn't close it out.
I think sometimes even if that's the case, save face and just say, Hey, it was on us.
We're up 31 because if this year comes around, you get beat by the Nuggets, You get beat by the Utah Jazz.
You get beat by the sons.
What excuse now.
Oh, Tyronn Lue wasn't using me.
Is like every year.
Some excuse for poor George.
Ever since he didn't get that shot.
The final shot with the Pacers, where he's basically he's already tapped out. Anyway.
The final shot in the playoffs with the Pacers.
I believe it was, um Who's that dude with the with the round head who shot the three and then passing the poor George? This I'm saying with these guys, man, people make it seem like like again when it comes to next.
These players, man, people say all these guys, a young people this.
Yo, man, you are in a league getting paid millions of dollars.
You may falter here and there.
Okay, You don't do your job, right? Take accountability for it, man.
Let's get back to stupid interview, man.
Everybody being a training camp together.
It makes a big difference Broke.
It makes a big difference for a team going together.
And once you get that, I think I'll be fine.
It and I just think the understanding that you can't think for the first time the Clippers were picked to win a championship.
When was the last time you never heard that? A lot of added pressure on that.
And then, like you said, not being able to gain that chemistry from the jump, people could say what they want.
Chemistry is the key to a championship **** with.
Nobody says chemistries.
You know, at least while you're playing and to not have That was tough, you know? But I was someone who picked you guys.
I think you I thought you guys were built to beat who we thought was gonna be in the West Files.
And I'm sure you felt the same way.
How tough was it going in and having that lead on Denver and then seeing them walk you all down and walk you all out? Pretty much, Yeah.
It was It was tough because, like, you know, we was confident.
We felt like, you know, we was We went up 31 way, felt like, you know, we don't win the next one we lost.
We are three Cool way.
Don't win the next one we lost.
But during that during that whole process, like we never worked on adjustments we never were what to do differently.
Way just literally.
Having the same should happen over and over again.
So it started to play a trick on you, like man, Like what's going on? Like, you know, I mean, we're talking amongst each other, like the conversations, like we're gonna be all right.
The conversation should have been like, No, we need way need to switch this up.
We need so it way wasn't like at the end of day.
I don't I don't think way deserved it.
We wasn't prepared enough going into it.
Just us making adjustments standpoint.
Way wasn't prepared.
We didn't put the work into it.
It was kind of just like, yo, we got P g.
We got quiet. We got way.
We're gonna be straight.
We're gonna figure it out that way.
And I related to like, we didn't practice during the whole year.
And that's that's hard to do when you're putting a fresh new Yeah, because the problems you have during gangs notion.
Now let me just get something now and let me know if you guys, uh, close rate.
You're using your mic backwards.
Bring it up higher and closer.
My using the backwards.
That's not good. Yeah.
Let me know if you guys hear Echo.
Now that Mike sounds weird, let me know.
Thank you, darling, For that tip, By the way, go visit dollies Site on YouTube, man.
Uh, I'll post it here.
He's a sound tactician.
Crafts a post a little bit later, I'm gonna show me dog.
That was just but so the clippers to me didn't.
Then the Lakers have a whole bunch of new players that just came on the team outside of Cal Koosman.
Right? They brought on around was there the year before.
They had a k c p.
So I guess a D No.
I guess there's just a d LeBron uh, going on. They brought on.
They brought on Dwight.
I think they brought Intervale.
Cozma's there, So there are few guys on that team.
I mean, the two most important players don't have any time to play with each other, right? I'm just saying, man, I just these excuses, man, and you put on a coach when you're up 31 is one thing.
If the do was just playing, you guys totally out of your element.
Yeah, I mean, but I know Rob. Jean Francois.
I know you come from, but it's just these guys, man.
I just get sick of it, man.
And now you've got hard and allegedly hard and said that he preferred playing with John Wall.
Now let me say one thing about John Wall and this goes beyond basketball.
I think he legitimate help.
I think too many times you've got these players where they wanna go back to the people that they're familiar with from the hood or from the upbringing.
And this guy is throwing up gang signs.
I guess he's a blood.
I don't know their room.
Are you know, Stephen A Smith Caughtem at Rose Bar in D C D C is great.
Um, and Rose Bar is excellent, but you can definitely get caught up in that life where people, you know, suspecting that maybe he might have a drug issue. Alcoholism.
He was looking fat, you know, a little pudgy in the face and things like that.
You know all rumors.
I'm not saying whether true or not, and I think that Houston is not gonna be any better in an environment where Hard doesn't wanna be there really anymore where that team is, basically, it's a new head coach, and I think he's probably gonna be used.
It's kind of like a lane duck head coach, because you're gonna have a heart who doesn't wanna be there.
So how you gonna really coach that up? And now Westbrook is gone.
A guy in Westbrook who again, I'm not the biggest fan of Westbrook.
But Westbrook did do better with Harden.
Averaged 27 points over 47% student, which was higher than last year.
Believe he shot the previously shot 42%.
Three point percentage was still terrible, like 25% off of three attempts.
But I think the attempts went down slightly.
So Lisa started.
Learn that that's not his game.
And John Wall I'm not sure.
Look, I'm not trying to stand trial, be psychiatrist, but that could be a disaster for the Rockets.
I'm hoping quiet.
I hope he I hope they have people around him or to help him out.
I don't know what his familiar issues are.
Um, but Westbrook with the Wizards now.
Bill to me again.
Him and John Wall did not mesh, right? They were both kind of fighting for Who's gonna be the leader of the team? Obviously.
Bradley Bill with John Wells injuries last year, kind of rose up.
Averaged 30 points a game last year is efficiencies believe we're fairly strong as well, too? Let me just check this out.
Maybe I like 38% from three.
I might be wrong. No.
5% from the field.
Obviously, he's really only guy there, him in Bhutan, so you have to take a pretty source.
Usage rate was like 37%.
And so I just wonder, you know, can he replicate especially early on, because Westbrook in the first two or three weeks was killing it with the Rockets.
The Rockets were looking unstoppable until they came into the Knicks, where everybody was like, Oh, do the Knicks have the magic formula to beat the Rockets? I remember that, uh, dead spin bleacher report.
They did right that do the Knicks have the magic for maybe the rocks because we're the only team that beat them, like at that point convention.
I think we're always gonna be.
I think I like a they want to run.
Before they came to the Knicks, the restaurant was doing really well with Harden.
I think Bradley Bill has more character than hardened.
I'm just I know it might be.
Conjecture might sound like it, but just what I've heard about Harden and all these little machinations doing a team I wanna play team ball.
I wanna play system ball, but you get rid of CP three and you cut Melo behind his back.
I think Bradley Bill is a better fit with Westbrook.
It'll be interesting to see, because again, that's a ah young team.
You got Burton's.
You got Thomas Bryant got Roy Hodgson Merah, um, with a draft.
The sheriff let me just each they drafted any of Asia.
I'm not the biggest fan of um.
Then they also drafted Caches Winston from Michigan State, right? And so that is a young team that needs a lot of development.
But could they sneak into the playoffs? And now the Washington just did not a few years, but he snuck into the playoffs.
Where's Will will wall Bradley? Bill Gortat? You Bray? Um, and Westbrook is a guy, I believe again, if he could play second fiddle like he did with Harden again, his three point shot is not good, but I think he I don't remember.
He shot from mid range.
There's a fairly decent last year.
I actually think it's actually fairly good.
Last year, a guy was not asked to or put in a position to facilitate, which I don't.
I'm not saying you can't facilitate, but just something he's that good of a facilitating point guard where you could justify having a ball in his hands.
Like, say, CP three, you can set up the offense, get guys who are hot, the ball in proper positions.
What is on the block was in the post.
The elbow um, calling out is ALS for players at the right time.
Um, but Westbrook and Bill is very interesting.
Um, now I do agree.
Someone just put over here.
I can't find it.
Most Elijah S****** kinds of social area said him.
What up? What up? What up? It's me.
What up? Make greasy salute.
This has been on every night with me, man. Salute to you, bro.
Um, and someone just had it here.
I the Rockets making the playoffs.
I'm not sure I'm not sure about that.
A disheartened Harden That was mad, Corny.
John, welcome back from injury.
Believe his Achilles. Right.
This injury is very tough to come back from.
Um, they just signed Christian.
Would the guy who I think, you know, the Knicks get assigned? Uh, you know, it was all before, Obi.
I think he would have been a decent space.
I'll shoot, but for the money they gave him, it was a three years 41 4 years, 41 3 years.
41 might be a little over here for that, because you have one year of a blip in and people say, Oh, yeah, and these little spurts here and there.
But again, these little flashes.
Five different teams.
There's a guy that his coach was telling people not to draft him, saying that he was, you know, overall, he came to lead overweight.
Not like fat, pudgy, but overweight.
from his his work in size.
It was playing size.
Um, they traded Robert Covington.
Um, I just look at that team. I'm confused.
What? What? Walmart.
And now is hardly gonna go back to basically the over dribble 1.
5 man, two man game with Wall.
I think at times, Wall has been missing.
Line is a terrible point guard when he's playing on the court, I think at times missing, I just think of him and Bradley.
Bill just didn't mesh.
Then he got hurt.
And the drink, you know, and then blood stuff and or the gang stuff.
I'm just a little confused.
Oh, yeah, Kenny Wooten's on that team.
Thank you guys. Associate.
Well, the thing like any woman's that he really has no ask.
He's he size as a small forward at 68 But you know, you only justify his playing style on the court if he's as good defensively as Dennis Rodman right days.
Rahman was what six was around 6768 Power forward.
Who would defend on the block like a mother rebound when they probably the best rebounding pound for pound.
Remember the games where you have, like, two points, three assists? And then like or to us? Maybe no assists.
And, like 20 some rebounds.
Like his a***en regards to knowing where the ball head off the basket to get a rebound was like mind boggling.
But that team, I think, is making a play, especially with a new head coach.
Rocket Tech coach is, um, Stephen Silence Stuff in silence.
This guy was with who I think was assistant before, right? Yeah, because we're Carlos staff in Dallas is gonna try to run them like Dallas or basically Dallas is that you could run that system right where you basically have harden as you, Luca, because basically, Luca is basically hard.
And let's let's be honest.
I know Luca is nice. I ain't trying to install Luca.
Luca is basically a European harden.
They also need space shooters, right? Marriage have had th j that stuff curry.
Yeah, the ever talented bit.
Oh, so overrated.
KP Do the maths have that? I don't know.
I'm not sitting here trying to issue make people.
Usually I'm not saying the rockets don't make the playoffs, man.
I'm just saying, Let me just go through the roster right now.
Got James, Harvard, Harvard, James Harden.
This is kind of old because Robyn ***mings and just got traded right to the Blazers.
They still got. They got Daniel House.
Tucker also got Eric Gordon.
I think I thought Jeff Green got traded.
They got Ben Malcolm.
Oh, who who shone a little bit last year, coming from the Kings to be a sharpshooter, I think find his way with a little bit made.
Do they give him a bigger role on that team? They're going to get a little older.
They signed DeMarcus Cousins, but the markets cousin hasn't played.
You know how many again we think about the Marcus cousins from the King's Man? This dude is broken and don't get Mark tells me, is one of the most talented big man I've ever seen.
When I think about the market, because I think about Derrick Coleman and many of you guys remember Derek Coleman, Syracuse Finest got drafted by the Nets, had a terrible attitude, but one the best powerful everybody said he should have been the greatest power forward of all time people talk about Oh, Mason Jones.
I was just listening to a podcast by, um uh, was it was it? And supersonic Giefer put me on this.
I was just to a podcast from Sam.
Becky Vaccine, e e can't make the game theory podcast.
I'm talking about Mason Jones, I believe is what? Indiana? The place Where did, um, Isaiah Joe, it was Indiana came from, not Indiana.
Joe came from Arkansas.
Sorry, the colors guy.
He messed up, and they were talking about how he came in overweight and like, but he killed the competition.
He's just one of these guys.
Like, he has really good hips, right? So he's not the quickest, But he could catch it just because he can make plays without exerting a lot of explosion energy because he has such good, like, really fluid hips.
So I don't really don't know about that team.
Are you gonna give the young kids a chance? Guys like Mason Jones guys like David Mohammed.
That team good defensive guard.
Uh, guys like Christian would who I guess you have to feature now, but they've always need a big man because They haven't had a big man after trade Capella.
So Christian was gonna be He's gonna get looks, especially on the perimeter.
They do that Harding crap again.
But one thing I think Harden misses that pick and roll right with Capella.
I think that was a really solid element.
Uh, that team had for the guy with a cappella for, you know, their experimentation with the N b.
A team with the whole Let's go with everybody under 66 ft six.
Tucker Ben Macklemore Daniel House.
Darrell Green? I don't know, man.
Uh, Bruno Cobble, cobble, cobble Clue Koboko Brazilian.
Do I believe you got drafted by Was the Raptors.
I wonder they're going to give him any any burn.
Let me see what his statue or you call them. Kind of like a bus.
Him. He's been He's been a week since 4014.
****, he has been do nothing.
Yeah, I'm not gonna be Oh, uh, yes, I'm unsure, man.
I'm unsure about where this team is going, man.
Let me see what you guys saying.
The chance I read that the random was I don't want buddy Buddy Hill man sharpshooter.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Karma loans out the greatest powerful of all time.
They'll be Tim Duncan Lett's Chill Out with that Samsung is the greatest power forward of all time.
Uh, Buddy Hill to the Knicks.
Now there were rumors that and again they're saying that they put up They said that Randall hasn't spoke to media And that Frank, uh, there's somebody took down like they put up a highlight or take down a highlight or something like that because they guess it's on the horizon that they were those who were gonna get trade for Buddy Hill.
Now Buddy Hill is here's what he is.
He is a dead eye, sharp, sharp shooter, right? He shot 42.
9% from three last year off of 16.
He said This is how absurd Buddy Hill.
This He shot 42.
9% from three off of 16.
1 attempts last year.
When you talk about wet, we talk about no, no blood in the vein.
He is the epitome of that.
Just absolute sickening.
That might be That might be the leaf for MBA, right? average.
I don't read that wrong.
I'm an idiot. Hold up. I read that terribly wrong.
I apologize, guys.
6 attempts, which is still great.
9% from the field off of 16.1 attempts.
Right? So I wish I had a shot.
Try apologize for that.
Guys, I'm looking, trying to see if they have a sharp chart here.
I would love to see that. So let me see.
Uh, in a restricted area, this percentage was 64% in the paint, 34.4%.
Mid range is 39.
Right corner 3 47.
9% above the break. 3. 37.6%.
So he's a He's disgusting from the corner, right? If he comes in, he would do exactly Yo salute.
Yo, everybody goes Support my man Joe, King of next morning.
Coffee man, if you again Coffee destroys my stomach, but I somehow could drink espresso shots and I like Listen to that dude, man.
Oh, subscribe and put it in the chat right now, then.
Most guys already there, so I mean, you guys already know it, but hold on.
I'm gonna put in the chat right now, man.
Going support the dude.
Man, I'm all about supporting Knicks content creators, man.
No shame in my game.
And so please, guys, next morning. Coffee.
Please go subscribe to wait for Tim.
Don't know what's happening.
Let me see the text.
I hope he's not anything back.
Yeah, but you know what? I guess it will come in less.
Let's go to the interviews will be topping interviews.
Let's talk about that now.
I'll play a little bit by little bit slowly.
So if Sim comes in, you can catch us on the way and let me start with Kevin knocks so everybody could kill me.
I'm a hater and all of the stuff, so I'm gonna go through the interview.
I'm gonna stop it from time to time just to break it down.
But let's xyz Kevin Knox interview and Kevin Hope you're well, um just wanted Thio.
Ask you a question about the Kentucky presence on this roster you got, You got yourself Julius Emmanuel, Netherlands.
And you got Kenny P now on the staff.
What's it like having all your fellow Wildcats? And also, what is Kenny pain meant to you both in Kentucky? And you know him being back here, What you think that's going to do for your development? A, uh, around the facility on around the league? I mean, that's one of the reasons a lot of guys go to Kentucky is toe be in the position that I'm in now is that's planning an MBA, So I mean, it's great to have BB and family around facility, you know, we're just gonna continue to work hard.
KP is gonna push us every single day, and we're just getting ready to work this season.
But having came here is huge for me because he helped me out.
A lot of Kentucky just really just get me outside of my comfort zone, pushed me, ask my limit, just get me better every single day.
So it's always great to have someone like that in your corner.
Because some board berman in their coast.
Uh, Kenny, actually, I talked to him when he was still in Kentucky about your season, And you thought.
But maybe you looked a little bit of confidence on the court.
How much you feel? You have to prove this season, e don't think I have much to prove.
Anyone really just prove myself.
I mean, I put in a lot of work this summer, especially with everything going on this season in the early, really just proud of myself, understanding the gym, getting better every single day.
I was in traveling to different cities, you know, a lot of people working on staying safe.
It's been a lot of time with family, but the season is huge for me.
I think going to the season I have a lot of confidence right now.
I think the coaching staff is a lot of faith in me, and they're gonna push me every single day.
The players around me, we're gonna compete every single day in practice.
So I think, and I'm expecting if you see them for me, and I'm really ready to get to work.
So one thing about Kevin Knox just from is demeaning it.
Not so he's defeated, but it's very, you know, I guess.
Kind of reserved.
Maybe something exuberance this kind of, you know, moved away from him.
Maybe you know that.
You know why I kinda young.
He looks really reserve again.
He has to be pushed.
You know, you either rise above the fray.
You don't Because a guy like Kevin not so I think about this.
Our depth right now at the four is Obi M.
K. G and Randall.
B is gonna be here for future.
I think they're gonna play Randall to build up his trade value and then probably move on from him.
Eso he's gonna play the three now, the three you have.
I think they're gonna move RJ three.
Even though RJ has been more effective scoring against twos just because I think the size is a factor at the three.
Just because you have this, you know, I don't know what it is, but I'll look it up exactly.
I'll try to look up and introduce.
Why, exactly, But he did do better against twos, but I think you play at the three.
You also have guys who could play three like Reggie Bullock, even though you could put him at the 23 Alec birth to three.
And Alec Berg shoots the corner three.
Really? Well, go check him out.
Um, am I missing anybody else from the three position? I think about Kevin Knox.
Is that the three positions gonna put him in a grinder? Now, if you put Kevin knocks at the four, right, you're gonna have some smaller fours, maybe accuse the size and strength to guard against.
Guys may try to post him up.
Might try to drive past and using more of the strength versus speed after three.
He could be in a world of trouble.
You have a lot of athletic wings in the league who are going to take it to Kevin Knox.
Kevin Knox had bad court awareness in terms of his defense.
Bad footing, terrible footing.
Kevin Knox is defensive field goal percentage.
Except for right at the rim.
The differential between defensive field goal percentage and the field goal percentage of that player against everybody else was positive, which is not good.
Which means that Kevin Knots when on average, when he's defending your player.
They scored better on Kevin Knox and they're doing any on everybody else.
That's not a good thing now.
It didn't prove from last year, but it's still positive.
Yeah, Bullet could play. Yeah, book.
Let me see. Book size.
That's what I've seen bullet players playing the three of times last year.
See him play at the three last time again.
Last year was not, You know it wasn't.
Wow, That's a great stat.
Thank you. Steven Fox.
I did not notice Kevin Knox played powerful 44% of his time.
Is Ricky a 20% last year.
So that's why would expose So he's gonna have to play it.
That three he's gonna he's gonna be stuck at.
The three were more athletic players.
We're gonna try to light him up each and every night.
How many good wings are in the n B? I mean, the good players all over in most positions, right? But the athleticism and that they're gonna impose on Kevin Knox night in, night, out.
Yeah, I pray for him, man.
I pray for I think these people think I'm a hater.
Is not that my hater.
But bro, to me, if you are not that good or if you're coming to ah team where you're not the system not being played up for you, where you know you're struggling, you gotta be basketball.
You gotta eat sleep basketball.
Not so he's not working hard, but even their mental acuity he's gonna get to it when you're talking about the physical aspects of the development of the pre season of the camp.
They didn't mention anything mentally.
He didn't mention, you know, studying film.
I never had these guys.
It's tough for I heard R J talk about it, right that they put him through studying film stuff like that, not say he doesn't do it, but we don't know.
Maybe if he doesn't do it.
That's unfortunate because it behoove him toe watch other guys who have bad feet in the MBA who improved their games by a better defensive position because you can offset every night.
If you study a player's game.
Oh, I know he likes to go to his right to his left and shoot.
I'll playing to his left, and when I know he's driving, I'll tell Mr Robinson or tell the help defense to kind of shave to that side, knowing that he's gonna drive to his right.
That's defensive a***en right there.
There are many ways to offset athletic players, but it comes through here it comes through the air.
Your clutch be WBAL TV suit that Cosby WBAL TV man.
That's my guy, man.
We're covering the, uh What's the name game yesterday? Uh, my boy Jamon sucks the Gonzaga game.

But I'm a I'm a watch that game, man.
They go subscribe.
Thio Cosby, WBAL TV Men start playing games.
Let me go back to the Kevin Ox interview.
Steve Hopper News.
Thank of course.
So, Kevin, thanks for doing this.
I know you talked about having the confidence this year and what you feel like this year is gonna be, but how hard was last year to go through two coaches? See your minutes reduce a lot as a young player.
How tough was that to go through? Yeah, it was tough, but, I mean, this league is a business.
I mean, things happening.
People get traded.
Stuff happens in the organization, but I just tried to stay focused as much as possible.
I mean, I think last year I think all the guys that are really good job is just staying focused with everything going on, just continue to put working every single day.
I mean, last year was rough, but I mean, I stayed in the gym all year last year and just really just continue to get better.
And unfortunately, we have the coaching changes, and I wish them causes nothing but the best.
But, I mean, I think they've got a really good coaching staff this year.
A lot of new guys that are really ready to work.
Really ready for this year E in Bagley s and wine.
Kevin, Thanks for doing this.
I hope your friends or Well, uh was there.
I mean, is there one or two things that your focus was on this offseason that, you know, Knick fans or people watching the games might see you see on the court.
Is there anything that you focused on over the the few months that you away? I mean, I really just working all aspects of my game.
I think something different this summer is really getting in great shape going into the season.
Uh, coaches was really preaching at all summer long, All clear.
Just make sure that they're coming to campaign in shape, and I think that's gonna be used for all of us going into the season.
Especially for me.
Just having energy going out there every single night and performing heart every single night.
Rebecca Harlow, M s tree.
Looking forward to working with you again.
But, you know, it's interesting you've gone from being one of the youngest players to one of the longest 10 year Knicks here.
How are you gonna approach your leadership role this year? Just being one of the guys who can help the younger players understand what it takes to handle playing in New York.
I mean, I've been here would be my 30 years.
So I mean, I've been here for two years now and just really enjoy playing in the garden.
Becomes asking a lot of questions.
Now, you know, we've been chopping up a little bit.
Look, at least from Kentucky asking a few questions have been out there.
So I really just, you know, just really want to communicate as much as possible, help you guys out as much as possible in the garden.
But those guys are very confident again, very confident himself, following the players.
So I don't think they have a have a really problem playing in the garden this year.
But any questions, anything that they have, You know, I'm here for them, obviously being the leader, just stepping up, communicating better on and off the court of look, Mark Berman near Khowst Complete.
Yeah, Kevin, you talked about working out a lot with the weights and stuff you put on, like any muscle weight since the end of last season.
And also, I think I'll be said that you guys were working together in Jersey, right? I was just wondering what your impressions were.
I mean, the first question I put on the cross, um, great.
With a lot of strong.
Like I said, I've been really just working on the weight of my body.
Everybody getting stronger.
Upper body, you know, just stand in the way room, just giving continue to get started each and every day.
I think that's also another huge aspect.
That's when it really helped me out on and off the court as well.
But going back with me over worked out for, say, a month, maybe New Jersey and, you know, just coming every single day, just really working out with him.
Post ups, showing up, getting a lot of threes.
They control stuff.
Not my first time ever.
Beat them. And we kind of got along right away.
Every single day.
We was just lift lifting, getting the gym every single morning.
But right then and there, I knew he was gonna be a great player in the league.
I didn't even know he was gonna end up getting them, obviously, but I'm glad to have him on the team.
That's one of my one of my guys.
I mean, many, a lot of really good work this summer.
So I'm looking forward to get on the court and this year.
But he mentioned something really interesting.
Man, your Mark White.
What up? What up? What up? What up? Salute to Mark whites, That's all you guys, man bebel TV.
All you guys Mama said, don't trust.
So so I actually never read.
I just always saw Mama, but I didn't.
I never read the rest.
He mentioned something really interesting.
You mentioned two things now, putting on more muscle on the lower body, right? He definitely has to sharpen up right, because it's not necessary.
No, I don't I don't think he has chickens, but his feet are just goofy, right? And so straighten up your calf muscles to a lot form or title shifts.
Movements with the lower body is going to be really important for him.
Right? Uh, on the Achilles, all the work download with the feet, ankles, everything to give him better joint movement.
He's gonna need that come into the season because he just he just has goofy feet, right? He doesn't have I don't He has, like, basketball fee just has, like, big, goofy feet.
I could see him like he was playing in football.
I could see him literally taking seven steps back those big feet and like just launching a ball right.
He has toe work on his brain to his to his lower body.
And it also means building a better muscle memory, doing drills, quickness, drills and really agility drills.
Cutting drills, right? Coordination drills, reaction time drills, right? And he said another interesting thing he said that he worked on the post up will be.
Now we all know he doesn't play great defense, So, uh, he should be feeling really good with that post.
So I'm very interested.
Interested to see how his postgame would be because again, he's not the most twitchy ISS, right? Like when I think of great post games, obviously a large one.
I think of Kevin Garnett.
People don't remember Kevin Garnett used to have that shimmy.
Kevin Garnett, Cindy Dude at the at the pole, at the elbow, at the foul line.
Used to shimmy and catch you with a fadeaway.
A deep to fade away when you could shoot Btu's.
I'm not saying Kevin access to do that, but the post up game is extremely important.
I don't care what no one says.
I don't care what Rick Carlisle says.
Rick Carlisle took away the Postal from from KP and look at KP. Now.
He's hurt, but the post game will be very important for Kevin Knox because he's not the fastest foot.
He's not the fetus of foot.
Oh, here comes in my bed.
Simmons in the building.
You know what's up there? It was going on.
We were just playing the box a little by little credit.
Uh, so let me just I mean, I have a little bit of a comment.
You don't mind Spencer Julian on the street.
Chip's obviously how defensive e wherever he's been wondering how a better that's what e a E think that he's really does.
It's really a we're trying to more questions, zones Hey, Kevin.
Thanks for the O things athletically.
Oh, a e Uh, a e plan is an echo.
I mean, no, I don't have I don't have anything else playing, so I'm not All right.
Here's like I think, uh, traditions in the first two years on, does it matter to you what role you have and particularly reclaiming a starting job? E think everyone going into the training camp is really fighting for five minutes and find for possible team.
So I think obviously that's one of the things that I really wanna do is going to the camp with Montet confident that I really start on the team.
So I'm gonna go in there.
I'm gonna compete every single day.
I know it's not gonna be easy.
I know I'm gonna get pushed every single day, but I mean, everyone's going to really get community really have a position with teams, right? I mean, like I said, we all computers.
And today we got a lot of 3000 team really? Before you get started camp.
Oh, Sim, obviously you've probably heard this before.
A Z Every knick fan is is raised to get these interviews.
What were your overall impressions.
Uh, from the interview.
I understand they're not going to say the most, right, But he didn't mention interesting things.
He talked about working on the lower body muscles of the lower body.
He talked about her game.
Hey, talk to him and Obey are talking very effusively about Kenny pain.
And I'll get to that later because I think that there's something behind the Kenny painting.
But what were your overall impressions? Yeah, you know what, Kenny? Pain.
Um I mean, a lot of people have mentioning Kenny pain talking about Kenny pain and how he's working with I mean, you heard it from Nerlens Noel, obviously.
You know, Kevin, not so I'll be topping.
And you know his work with Big Man, right? And you know his ability to work on footwork And, you know, just like some of the small minute details of the game that some of these guys really lack on these guys really are, you know, looking and kind of dependent on Kenny pain.
So I do think he's, ah, big part of what they're trying to do with some of these young guys as's faras what? You know.
Kevin Knox said e mean, you mentioned a few things.
Like you said, You know, like, you know, he talked about some things, like like working on the lower body.
Um, working on this post up game, right? Him and obey topping together, working on the post up game.
Um, and, you know, hitting the weights every day together.
I find it a little bit funny that, you know, they began working out together before the draft even started.
And then, you know, all of a sudden overtopping is drafted, but I guess because Obie was in New York, maybe Kevin Knox was in New York.
They, you know, worked out together.
Um, you know, ah, lot of what he said, I guess, is what you would expect for him to say.
But hey, does seem to realize he said his confidence is up.
I think he does seem to realize that this is going to be that this should be a big year form.
I'm gonna tell you what I did like that I didn't hear from other players.
Is that he said he wants to be the starter that z something that I did like.
But But, Sim, here's a question.
If you got O be Randall and assuming m k C.
I don't think I'm cases to make the roster, but e okay, I'll exclude him.
So you got to be in, uh, Randall at the 43 You got R.
You know, out of burqa.
Played three. Bullet completed. Three.
Where does Kevin Knox get those minutes? Yeah, you know, I'm not sure.
The the one thing I say is he's the only player.
Barrett, 66 And I don't know if he has the same kind of length. Is Kevin Knox.
He's the only player that has that kind of length that would play Well, you know, be Top is not gonna play three, right? So he's the only player that has that kind of length, you know that you would look for in a three.
So if he's good enough, then you know they might look to say if he's good enough, you know, you know, and you got r. J.
Barrett at the two of Kevin Knots could shoot the ball at the three. He can.
You know, hopefully spread the floor, you know, to help out RJ.
Um, then maybe you put him there, but I don't.
I mean, I don't know if he's gonna be ableto win it out.
I just like the fact that he did say, Yeah, you know, I want to start.
You know what I mean? When you listen to anybody else, especially from the guard position, all the other guys, you know, you know more.
So, like, you know, I'm just gonna do what I need to do.
And, you know, the culture.
Make that decision, or I mean, then Smith Jr was a little bit more like, you know, whatever goes I have for myself whether or not I reveal them to you, Um, you know, as long as I'm working hard towards them, I'll be okay.
You know something to that effect.
But so far, Kevin Knox is the only person that said, Yeah, you know, I want to start.
So to me, that's that's a good thing that that's in his mindset, that, you know, I'm trying to come in and get that starting spot.
He admitted that last year was rough, right? And, you know, going through last year.
You know, not getting the minutes that he expected to get was rough.
So maybe that's something that kinda, you know, pushed him to say, Yo, I got to do better.
I guess. You know, we'll see.
Now that really impacts him.
Let me ask something about Kenny Pain.
Do you think that the front office trying to do a slow transition to make this a penny pain team like typical 66 right? You might retire, you know, 345 What you might you know, he has a five years of it.
You know, once your ties in five years or maybe moves on for five years, I don't know, but do you think that this team is slowly trying to make ah, push Kenny pain as the next culture? The Knicks say, you know, Thibodeau doesn't do as good of a job.
Is everyone expected? Or once? And they slowly implemented Kenny pain.
I mean, I could definitely see that thes guys we're talking effusively about him.
Obviously has the UK connection and people who said that he was the reason why UK has been so good these years.
thes past few years? Um, e guess for a long time.
Even though, I mean, they get some of the best recruits.
Do you see Kenny? Pain? Slowly, I would say.
Pushed out time, Thibodeau.
Uh, maybe Kenny pain or John Calipari.
He's a front man.
I'm not saying a coach, but come on.
He's a king at Kentucky.
He's not leaving that that place.
And Kenny Pain was never gonna become that.
He was never gonna push Calipari out.
I mean, so I'm just you just every every interview will be all these guys.
Can you paint any pain, Kenny? Pain? Not to say, obviously, is assistant coach assistant coaches.
As you probably know, they work very intently with, you know, some of places I work more than players one on one than the actual head coach for some team.
But, you know, it just seems like Kenny pain.
They have all these UK connects, Um, and they're bringing all these u k town.
Even if it's not some you know, these guys, um m k g.
Obviously, is that well, you know, he's he's probably the main coach within, uh, the camp.
The coaching, the coaching team, the main guy who's really his task, has really been to work with young guys.
I mean, listen, he's working with young guys coming out of high school, right? Um and that's what he's been doing for years.
Is teaching guys coming out of high school and, you know, that's probably I remember a few years ago we were having to discussing on the show that, you know, the Knicks might want to think about not just the Knicks.
Any, eh? NBA team.
I want to think about bringing in guys that bringing in guys that are like, uh, guidance counselors or people that used to be guidance counselors or something like that, uh, toe work with all of these kids that are coming in so young, right, Because, you know, you you know, you need a different kind of person to work with some of those type of kids.
You know, candy paint kind of fits that mold.
He may not be a guidance counselor, but working so much with high school kids, you know, coming into college, You know, he kind of has that field and knows.
Uh, you know, probably don't how to relate to them a little bit better even though these guys were getting paid.
Some of them probably still have that type of, you know, mentality.
Obviously, overtopping is just getting into the league, right? So he's brand new, you know, to the league.
And, you know, it's still, you know, still a young man and he's gotta gotta learn the ropes and having someone like any pain there that can help him make that transition, I think is is big with his and then, you know, um, his teaching ability understanding what kids are coming into, you know? You know, I'm pretty sure all across the country there's certain habits that kids come into, you know, from high school, into the double, you know, into college with and then the translates or transitions on into the MBA.
So he's clearly gonna be an important factor.
So everything that's going on with this next team this year, everything is gonna be important factor because you guys are big men, better shooters because I mean, look at the I mean, he's made, you know, a d cat.
Hey has a history of making you know some of the tall guys, your forwards and centers really adept at shooting.
Right? So we're looking at guys like Mitch who? It might be another crossfire.
Right now you've got guys like, you know, random.
Who could be a better perimeter shooter.
You've got guys like Kevin Knox who needs to develop a postgame.
Um, do you think any pynchon effectively add wrinkles that all of us been crying about and praying about that some of these guys add to the game, Mr Robinson, 74% of the room is is great, but the dude doesn't absolutely nothing else.
Yeah, and he should.
I mean, he should hopefully, Hopefully he'll do wonders with Mitchell Robinson because, you know, when you listen to Tom Thibodeau I'm sorry, people, but he likes Nerlens.
Noel, man, You see? You see this? You see these guys he likes? No, No.
While I'm you see that? You see the bias that sin has.
He's been calling for Mrs Robinson's head because the last season hey, knocks.
Excuse me, give you some blocks in their rookie season.
Who didn't give you a E? I'm not I'm not calling for Mitchell Robinson's head.
You could go listen to my show.
I said, I think he's probably going to start.
But when you listen to Tom Thibodeau, go listen to Tom Thibodeau's interview.
Yeah, I know, but you're happy you're happy that he said it.
So you don't have.
Yeah, I'm not happy.
I'm not happy that it said anything.
I'm just saying, you know, Mitchell Robinson needs to watch out.
You know, with what he's doing because you know, when you listen to, Tom said, But always said, you know he's done He's had a few good moments.
That's how he started the interview about Mitchell Robinson.
He's had a good few moments, Um, but you know, there's some things that he's gotta work on, and he's athletic and got this, that this net and something that stuck out to me.
And he also said, I don't know where he's gonna end up and then right after he says, I don't know where he's gonna end up.
He transition to Nerlens Noel, right? I'm just I'm just saying Mitch needs to come in ready and prepared with open ears, an open mind and ready Thio, you know, really, really focus in learn, uh, those little nuances of the game that's gonna make him better.
I think Nerlens Noel is gonna make Mitchell Robinson better.
Uh, if he actually, you know, he says that he wants to be a mentor to him if that's what he actually wants to do.
Uh, then, you know, I think he'll help him toe understand those little parts of the game that's gonna make him better.
Listen, no, there's no Well, there's only 6 10.
It's a little smaller than Mitch.
It's not many centers in the league that have the same type of wingspan that Mitch does at 71 still right and has the dexterity to be ableto play on the perimeter.
You know, as much as he can, really, or as much as a big lie can gain.
Can't do, uh, is maybe not a big guy in the league that's as good as defending guards on the perimeter because of his length, the ability toe, uh, you know, he can He does a great job of stepping back when guy, when the team is running the screen and roll stepping back and be able to kind of quarterback that screen and roll and understand.
Okay, I need I need thio I need to stick with the screener or, you know, I need to go ahead and get with the ball handler and have enough length to be able to get back to his guy afterwards.
It's not many guys in the league that could do it the way that Mitch does it.
Part of it's because of his length, and part of it's because he's just good at doing it right.
Those those things right there in my mind tell me that he's probably gonna be the starter because of that screen role, his ability to defend the screen and roll the way that he does.
He's really like, uh, not even a quarterback, a linebacker back there when he does it.
I'm just saying, You know, he should watch out because I do think Tom Thibodeau likes Nerlens.
Noel, now who is working with Mitchell Robbins wasn't some.
Didn't somebody visit him down? So our during the off season to help him with the corner threes this summer wasn't somebody.
Wasn't somebody with I don't know if there was anybody notable that was with him.
I know last year I know.
Last year, Mike Miller went to new Orleans and work with them.
E think trust just said what he may have been Woody e videos.
I'm sure Like like just taking reps at the corner.
Somebody was with him.
See, what Don't The things that worried me about Mitchell Robinson a little bit is and I'm hopefully you know, Rich Paul is putting the right people around him.
But, you know you know Teoh, right? People around them for him.
Thio thio work on his game.
I just get concerned, You know that.
You know, when he's home away from the team, you know, he doesn't have those right people around him.
Not that he has bad people around him, but just people around him that understand what he needs to do during the off season.
You know, hopefully hopefully rich Paul is putting those type of people around them.
Right? Uh, so let's get to the other Will be top of you want everybody? They chosen King, I guess of the next one's past draft.
Um, just to say some tidbits, I'm not gonna play a video, but, uh, you know, I think he gave you know, decent reviewed and say anything too revealing, he says.
Definite blessing that people are, you know, saying that they're talking about.
You know, I guess rookie accolades obviously came into Canada.
He destroyed, like the fitness test or whatever it was.
Way had some rookie the aspirations.
Um, you know, because you know his scoring prowess, ability to impact mixed up the back.
This is from the Yahoo article.
Um, he's talking about Tibet.
Always say is known for being a defensive coach, and I feel like what everyone's saying after work on defense, he's gonna be sure I'm good at defense.
He's gonna make sure I'm gonna do what I have to do to help the team win.
That's me being better at defense.
He's gonna make sure I do that kind of like that attitude it should be.
I suck at defense and I'm gonna be better defense.
You know, we all know I second defense, and you know, I mean, he says for myself, I'm a big team guy, so I'm never gonna say my expectations are for myself.
Me coming into a new brotherhood, a new family.
I feel like I want to bring everybody together.
I want to change the culture.
I want a lot of games.
I wanted to make the playoffs.
I feel like the group of guys we have now a coaching staff we have now.
Everybody's gonna push each other every single day to be great.
And when a lot of games, you wanna make these fans happy and put on a show for them? Hey said, You know, hopefully, at the end of the day, Hey achieves his goals, but he's not gonna be able to do without the guys around me, you know? So, you know, from this generic interview now I'm not coming at you Just said he just, you know, says it says the right things.
How did you feel about what was your first impression from? Um, yeah, I mean, I mean everything that he said, I think I've had already heard in other interviews or that you know, something that Okay, you know, that was written that he said, You know, I do like you know that He says he wants to try to bring the team together.
Um, but I don't know if I take anything special for me, because I e I think we've heard it from them already.
Now it's time for him to just come in and actually do it.
I know the one guy that I had Yeah, on.
He said that, um, work for ESPN, ESPN, 14 10 in Dayton, right? He was kinda He covered.
He covered basketball.
And, you know, and, uh, you know, been around the team, you know, all season long for the past couple of years.
And he said, The one thing will be Is that, you know, he's just, like, a really, really, really, really good guy.
And, um, he's going to do, you know, whatever he can, you know, he wants everyone to like him, and you know, he's going to do what he can to tryto, you know, to make people like you to make people like him and to get along with him.
Um, you know, he's going to be an ultimate team player.
You know? I mean, that's all those things are are good.
We'll see how it translates to the court in the N. B. A.
I think, you know, obviously, in the n b A.
If you're gonna be the guy, you need a tinge, bit of selfishness sometimes Uh, not that he's not gonna have it, but we'll see what he does.
Right? Um, and when you're in the locker room, if you want.
And listen, this guy's still speaking from outside of the locker room.
He's still not speaking within the locker room, so you can see what he says can only go so far.
But sometimes you can't always be in the locker room trying to get everyone toe like you.
Sometimes you just gotta take a stance, right.
So, you know, we'll see how that's gonna translate into the MBA.
Now, let me ask you about a style of player right now.
I don't think Kobe is gonna play the three, but could there be a scenario? And I saw what Tom Thibodeau was watching film Tom Thibodeau, What he did with the bulls, right when he had boozer and wall Deng.
Right? Um and he made it work right with and I think dang played, I want to say, played more.
I could be wrong, I think played more than three.
Yeah, I think so.
But that Boozer and Noel Deng had a good chemistry on the court right dangling on the block you know, you have times where little dangle.
Make that backdoor code like make a pass toe obi and cut not be called bruising and get some on the block and cut to the basket.
Get it right back.
Go for the dunk.
Um, do you think that they could turn Randall or fine Randall playing at the five Crazy mind? Obviously, don't have defense in your front court, but could you have certain sets or roster or rotations where you have ran out the five.
We'll be at the four playing RJ at the to you put another shooter say maybe ah Burke or ah, bullet at that three.
Um and I don't know how you put the one, uh e so you put a pain.
But if you want a team that kind of wants to gas out of the teams quick passing ah, lot of cuts.
Could that line of work, I think I mean, and in instance, I think it could work.
And I think you have tow.
Have you know R.
J and two other guards that are really going to be rough defensively, right? Right.
So that you can you can try to jam up that entry pass into the post or, you know, you know T to those big guys.
Now, if you're playing a team that doesn't have guys that are really good from those positions, you know that are gonna be a huge scoring threat or a team that's playing small from those positions.
Then it may not be a problem at all defensively, especially if he says, Well, you know, we'll go ahead and we'll play a little bit of zone.
You know, we topping 69 you could maybe put him in the center of his own, um Randall on a wing and whoever should through whatever kind of on the plane.
Who knows they could be playing 2122332 you know, But it could probably work in small stretches of the game because I think you can have Randall play, Uh, that that elbow area a little bit and, you know, had of have all been topping, Uh, you know, slashing to the basket or spreading out along the baseline and do some things that way.
E think it could probably work as long as they're not playing the team.
That's huge at that point in time in the game.
And guys we were saying, Randall, as the five will be as a poor not Randall, not will be at the three and then Randall at the floor.
So we're thinking of a smaller lineup, but one that could possibly, uh, run with teams.
Or maybe we'll even if you play, you play taller.
Clank your teams right for the simple fact that will be cashew.
And you could have you could play pick and papa will be pick and roll it, Obie, put over on perimeter in a corner.
Um, you know, you can you can You can brutalize a lot of teams who have slower, uh, front courts where those big men have to come out.
And now you have a lane for r J.
Barrett to cut through.
Oh, are you know, Bullock, Even a guy like you have r J.
Barrett cut through the lane, you know, you know, bringing that defense and then pass out the bullock, you know, way have a lot of options with God with a lot of movement.
Guys come to the basket and having perimeter shooters kind of, you know, still serve that threat.
So now the defense has basically are we gonna commit to r.
Barrett and collapsed on him to be collapsed on him.
Or if we even show that they might pass out the bullet who make curl around out to the top of the key.
I just think it was just visually so, um and even when I'm trying, I was always trying to think is just that I was trying to think of a pick and roll pick and pop Cynara with Randall and will be.
But I don't think that happened just because I don't know who would be the ball handling that e.
I would love to see RJ again.
RJ show good spurts out the pick and roll.
I don't know what his numbers are exactly before someone kills me, But in the beginning season, especially the end of season, you saw RJB affected from the pain and also in the summer league because we talked about this on the 3rd and 4th game.
I think it was the fourth and a t least the fourth game, Um, him to pick a row.
I would love to see him and, uh oh, be in the pick and pop because we haven't had a real pick and pop threat in a while.
And that was what KP where we can run, it will pop.
I mean, you know, random could shoot the shot, but they were random That he kind of loads up a little bit on the Miranda issue.
Not just, you know, he has, like, a slower kind of is not as fluid.
Right? Uh, like a P, you know, kept Frank Latina, I think played some of his best offensive game in regards to being a, you know, a point guard that we could possibly build around when he had that when KP was here.
I mean, you had a breakdown.
Maybe like, a year or so ago.
Where was him? Hezonja and Frank.
Then they ran like a pick and pop.
Or they ran something.
It was like a pick and pop.
Only was in the mix of how he got into KP for a good open look.
Um, you know, do you see? They want to play, you know, are just the to Do you see them or say we don't have that proper one right way try to experiment the one you play awesome rivers.
But if you wanna get R.
Barrett going, do you play the pick and roll pick and pop game? Not picking on screen that pick and pop game with R J bad? Nobody.
E think I think you can. I think.
I mean, I think RJ can play.
Can do whatever you ask him to do on the floor.
Really? You know, if you want him to be the ball handling the pick and roll, I I think he can.
He could do it and be able to find Obi, uh, you know, executing that pick and pop.
Here's one thing about Obie that I think what What I'm looking to see is, yeah, you know, people talk about, you know, he can shoot.
He could spread the floor, which he can, and he can shoot it from N B A range.
Right? You know, we've seen him do it.
Um, he doesn't leave his feet an awful lot when he shoots that three ball, though, right? And, you know, in college you got smaller guys closing out on you When you when you're shooting in the n b a you're gonna have more guys with a lot of length closing down on you a lot faster.
So I'm interested to see you know how much how well he he gets that shot off.
He's not going to get it off in college.
He did every once in a while, get it off, you know, off the dribble.
But he's not going to get it off the dribble with defenders in his face is gonna be more of ah, you know, someone penetrates and kicks it to him.
Eso I'm interested to see how he does getting that shot off, You know, if it's still act as accurate as it was in college, right? You know, because you know, there's gonna be a different level of defense coming at him, Um, in n ba, you know, But, you know, as far as him and RJ working together, you know, I think they should, uh I know R.
J said that they would, you know, they've been working out together.
Some I think that they should be ableto close in age.
They should be able to develop a pretty good connection, I think.
And that pick and pop, Um, I think it will work.
I think it worked.
How much can you play Obi at the elbow and have him do some things from the elbow.
Not not doing the screen and roll, but, you know, get him the ball, the ball getting triple threat, you know, and hit slashes, hit colors and clearly be a threat from the mid range.
Oh, you could do a lot.
I mean, for the simple fact.
And Tom Thibodeau is gonna look, Tom Thibodeau had, you know, Kim Noah.
And again, I'm not saying to Kim Noah's will be.
But, you know, I think one of things that they saw with him, even though I don't think all the top and had Oh, yeah, What? Three assists? I believe dating? Uh, yeah, he had.
No, he only had 2.2 assists last year.
Um, but again, the passing chops, the ability to dio make passes, right? He has a court vision.
So e I mean, Tom Thibodeau did that a lot with Chicago, right? Had guys of the elbow operate from the elbow, the foul line, Joachim no.
Would, you know, pass at the pick through the little the rough play cut down to the basket.
I think that when they got giddy when they drafted, I think they thought of all these possibilities, right? O B is like, you know, he's like a chess piece.
He's like a You know, you got the queen on a chessboard, right? The guy who can attack from all angles And, you know, they saw what? You know what he could do with dating? No, actually, watching a video like Dayton's Danes, offensive numbers were ridiculous.
You know, in all the country, I'm still watching a video.
Um, I forgot what it was.
I think it was like scoring from the mid range or something like that.
Like they had the highest out of any team out like 64%.
I got I gotta watch it, the whole thing.
And I'll probably have a nice little breakdown of, but, you know, they it was like that offense.
Like they showed so many different sets.
It was basically a nawf ence on, you know, high octane.
Like, just ridiculous on.
I think that looking at o b a guy who could operate from the post you could moving around and one guy I was actually trying to compare him to, but he only played one year in the Tom Thibodeau was Meritage for the Bulls.
But the year that he actually starts shooting good from the three was a year.
Tom Thibodeau left, but you saw, like in the first year player Tom Tilley always shot like 31%.
But me and Nick were talking the other night, and there was like, this weird rough play that they kind of ran out of front like the triangle.
And I just remember like Meritage running.
I'm like, Wow, that's definitely Obi Top play where oh, we would like you could see Meritage on one side.
They operated triangle.
The Meritage somehow ends up on the other.
He rubs off the ball handler up top and then comes all the way over to the other corner and hits the three.
Now, my, I could definitely see.
We'll be doing that.
You know, Tom Taylor was gonna put a lot of motion because we don't have.
I don't think that the shot creators like that way, have spot shooters.
We have decent shooters, but, you know, out of Burke, Reggie Bullock, you know, decent players, world players so I could see Tom Thibodeau really exploiting Oh, be top top his talents all over the court, not just from the elbow, but there's gonna be a lot of action from the elbow spot.
Triple threats, uh, come to the basket after the after the past, the rubble played delayed pick and rolls or delayed rolls to the basket after the past.
Um, yeah, she's the chest piece.
The Knicks seems always wanted.
Or at least Thibodeau.
So Yeah, Yeah, I can't wait, Thio, I can't wait for I just can't wait to get for the team to get together and see how Tom Thibodeau You see what he does, right? So let me, let me ask you this last thing, man.
Paul George, your favorite player.
I'm saying I'm joking.
That's not straight.
But Paul, George, this clown and a half comes out and blames everything or not everything he blames.
You know, they didn't have enough time to gel.
He blames Doc Rivers not being able to make adjustment, which is true.
How did you feel about his interview with the up in smoke podcast? Yeah, I didn't see the entire interview.
I just seen a You know a little excerpt about, you know, that that that was trying to use him like JJ Red****, right? Or you know, somebody you know, or Ray Allen, you know, coming off pin downs and and so on.
Um then he was like, you know, that's you know, that's not I could do it, but that's not my game.
I need post ups, this and that.
I've seen somebody else kind of debunk what he was saying.
It was just like, you know, he scored like, 33% of this points or something like that from the post up, So I don't know, right? It was, you know, you know, some some n b A guy, right? So I don't know.
I think you know, that was excuses from Paul.
George, Um, you know, just, you know, the saying why he didn't play well in the playoffs or in the bubble or something like that.
You know, just trying toe, you know, come up with some excuse is really so as a coach, dude, don't you think it's a little scary that you could go to a team? The team is up 31 right.
You have two guys and I said this earlier, right? You have two guys that at least for a while, and I think while it is a superstar in terms of talent, you know he just doesn't play enough games.
But Paul George is a one B, maybe A to a type of player, but you always you looked at Poor George is a guy who's talent can supersede a system, right? But you don't have to run certain place that the Clippers games I saw.
I saw poor George playing a lot of ISO and not in a bad way is just He's that talented player that he could play do his own thing right? He could play an opposing player from the top of the key.
He could dribble, drive, catch players.
Truth the mid range.
I thought it was that.
Hey, these guys are so talented.
We do not have to, you know, put him in assistant, might, you know, curtail their production.
Right? So, as a coach, don't you feel like I got these guys a 31? And these idiots can't just win one more game now if you lose, the Lakers is one thing, right? But you couldn't win you up with 15 with in the third quarter, right? You couldn't one more freaking game.
And now you blame it on me for you.
And and I was praising Tyronn Lue.
Who? I don't care what it says.
Tyronn Lue is a lesser coaching Doc Rivers.
He is not about it like he does nothing.
I don't know what he's done.
When LeBron James has that Cavalier seem, they drop notable, and yet he left.
So as a coach, how do you feel that all the blame gets put on Doc Rivers? I think it's preposterous.
I can't even say the word.
I think it's crazy.
E think it's crazy that all the blame gets put on Doc Rivers.
Not to say that he doesn't have any blaming it. Clearly he does.
It's part of the team.
He was the coach, right? So it's gonna fall on him, you know, because you know, he was the leader of the team.
But Europe 31 and then you have a 15 point lead in a close out game and you don't finish it.
Clearly, he did his job to prepare you, so when I mean how much more can he do to prepare you to the win? If you're up 31 and then you got a double digit lead in the close out game, how much more could he prepare you to win? Right At that point, to me, it's got to be on the players to finish it off.
Uh, and then, you know, when he's gone, Now you're gonna, you know, say that, you know? Hey, didn't do this.
He didn't do that.
I didn't like the way he was using me and all this kind of stuff.
Uh, to me, that would be a red flag.
If I was tired on Leo, that would be a red flag for me and for other players on the team that would be a red flag and say, Oh, this guy, I don't know if I wanna rock with this guy, but, you know, Tyronn Lue's is there for the ride.
Man just must win a chip, and then just be he again Tuesday.
I have no idea what Tyrone who does.
This is a guy, and I might be little in it.
This guy who fell sick because of the pressures with LeBron James, I don't think There's a LeBron James on the Clippers in terms of attitude.
But again, you're talking about a quiet lender who doesn't talk.
And then poor George, who's just not accountable.
Patrick Beverley, who will get you? A.
You know, he will get you terrible fouls because that then it is.
You will get you some really boneheaded fouls and you can't say anything just because he's just out of his mind.
So you take the good, the bad with him.
Oh, I don't know about that team, and I like who I let in a lot, but yeah, I don't know. It's unfortunate.
Um, but yeah, guys, Clippers Man is It's the It's the Clippers. Its's.
They put together this supposed super team and they still have never been to the Western Conference finals.
Wait, wait, wait.
When they lost to the Rockets, that was to get them to the Western Conference finals.
Right? Let me upgrade against the Rockets.
Right? We'll see people.
Never West find there's never been to a Western Conference finals.
Uh, you know, I don't know if it's something about them being the Clippers, but wow, that's terrible.
You know all of these players that they've had coming, you know, come through there in recent years.
Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
Now, you know now Kawhi Leonard and Paul.
George, you know, we know back in the day, right? The clippers Just, you know, nobody wanted to go play for the Clippers.
They were the the drugs in the league.
I remember Charles Barkley after he played the Knicks one time and, you know, he was talking about, I think I think I remember he was playing with at the time, but his team won, right? They beat the Knicks, and they were talking about the upcoming role road trip, and he called the clip.
He was like, Yeah, we gotta go play the paper clips And then, uh, but that's just how bad they were.
It's like they would get some talent, and for some reason it just doesn't work out with the Clippers.
They get some talent, and it just doesn't work out with the Clippers, and it seems like that whole thing is not going away.
I mean, they had I still remember the year they had Elton Brand, Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, Tomorrow older.
Yeah, I think they had Cheon.
I might be wrong about Keyon Dooling.
I think that somebody else and they they couldn't do nothing.
And I was supposed to be a team they want.
I think they're on Sports Illustrated.
They don't every all I noticed the new core didn't go anywhere.
So yeah, it's it'll be interesting, but definitely.
Look, guys, be be tuned in as we continue to cover the Knicks, especially as this preseasons coming up December 11th.
All eyes will be on all these players.
