All these changes we've got to changes to two changes on Tuesday morning.
Will Parks, Johnny Loved Will Parks coming.
It made my day is I love Will Parks too.
But it made my day to see him get cut because because Johnny was a Will parks guy.
He thought he was it.
He's back in Denver.
Well, probably because they're going to know how to utilize them.
Something to get into.
But will Parks and Sheriff Miller were cut. Okay.
Who shriek? Miller Who? I don't know.
Grayling Arnold was called up from the practice squad.
Jim Schwartz said that, You know, will Parks snaps, We're going to go toe cavon Wallace, Marcus EPPS.
I mean, whatever that really means.
Because cave Anwar because, well, parks play the whole 10 snaps anyway.
So are we really gaining any experience for these young guys? But they were the big changes.
So why aren't there any changes? What do you make of these changes? Does it really matter any of these changes? So I for May I think we're the struggle that this team is having once again and I keep using the word disconnect is and If you have my word, listen, it's a great word, and I think that, you know, this comment really brings it up.
Right half a game behind.
We always find a way to pull it off.
So the issue comes in.
Here is the disconnect.
We're 37 and one and we're still in contention for the playoffs.
Normally 300 Jason for Johnny from normally a 371 team is done.
So they're playing the young guys.
They're getting reps for the young guys.
They're seeing what they have.
And in that situation, EPS should be getting more snaps.
Cavon Wallace should be getting more snaps.
I like the idea of bringing Granlund Arnold up because from everything that I've read as an undrafted player, he's apparently like the the epitome of what undrafted players should be.
Okay, great. Let me see it.
But then there's on the other side of it where it's well, Jason, Peter still has to be on the field.
Alshon Jeffery still has to be on the field.
Why, why, Why do they have to be on the field? Because neither of those two should be on the roster next year.
Now I say that I'm sure Jason Peters right now is, you know, making his highlight film saying, I can't wait to be back on the Eagles next season and how we will sign it again.
You know, it's starting left tackle, But the fact of the matter is, is that this team doesn't know which way they want to go.
Do they want to go and see the future and see what these young guys have? That how he drafted or do they want to compete this year? You know, we have said 100 times on this show we never want to root for the Eagles to lose.
But at some point, and this team doesn't lose out, we're never going to get a realistic look at the future talent that we have or don't have on this roster.
Well, you know, you know, talking about that.
And the other thing that happened was, um I saw that Jack Driscoll was practicing at right tackle, and Prior wasn't That's to me.
That's a smart decision because fire is not.
I don't know what's what's wrong.
He just just maybe super slow footed.
He just looks maybe it's because he's been bounced around from spot to spot on the line bench, Not benched.
Practice could be playing in the Games, but yeah, you know, it's just well, Parks.
It just wasn't working out.
Gives them opportunity to go somewhere and maybe earn a contract next year with another team.
Um, you get to see, I think what you're gonna see is, unfortunately your Seymour Marcus EPPS than you are gonna be of Kevin Wallace and Grayling Arnold.
Um, it's just the way that where you go on on that does it annoy anyone else When Jim Schwartz calls the players by Nix names because in his interview today, his press conference today he calls Marcus EPPS FC.
I want my coach is calling the players by their names.
I don't want them to be Buddy Buddy calling them by nicknames.
It's a annoyance.
I think that's the staple of this team, right? You always hear Doug is a players coach.
These players love to play for Doug.
These players love to play for Jim, and that's great.
But what happens when they screw up and it is time to light a fire under these people's ass is.
You know, if you're Mr Nice guy all the time, then you go all of a sudden started yelling like a crazy person.
They're gonna look at you like, Dude, I I had a beer with you.
That's that's not who you are.
Stop it. Yeah, Sorry.
Sorry to cut you off there, Johnny.
Back to your point.
No, but, you know, you see a little bit And, you know, the other thing you you saw was, um you know, the 10 snaps.
I understand that, but guys like David Taylor guys like Shawn Bradley.
You know, thes younger guys that we've talked about time and time again, getting them the reps.
Yeah, you're 37 and one.
Yes, you're still in contention for playoffs, But I understand that, But the problem is, if you don't see what these young guys have, then you You know, the thing is, 2021 roster is gonna be totally different.
You need to see what you have in these young guys.
So then you could move forward, and hopefully you have something in a fine like a grayling Arnold or Kevin Wallace or something like that.
You need these young guys to play to see what you have because that is a building block for the future is to see who you have and what you need.
So you mentioned Davey and Taylor and I just It just dawned on me.
It wasn't part of the notes and all, but somebody was bringing up a comparison to Jeremiah Trotter.
And I know we all love the trot and the ax man.
But some Trotter had a similar trajectory.
His rookie year wasn't getting the plane.
Time wasn't doing whatever and at the end of the season showed his thing.
But they let him get that opportunity to show what he had at the end of the season.
We need to Seymour of Cavon Wallace, Davian Taylor, because we need to know moving for Do we need another safety? I mean, we need a safety needed late linebacker, but do we need two more safeties? Do we need two more linebackers? We need to know now what we have in these guys moving forward.
And if if you look at the draft that we had right, I was actually pretty excited about this draft class because I convinced myself as an Eagles fan to be excited about the draft class, you know, But when you look at Cavon Wallace, he was in my mind the steal of the draft because he was that hybrid safety linebacker position who was able to go downhill all the time.
He's not a coverage safety.
That's not that's not his game.
He's a big hit Dawkins kind of hitter, which is great.
So then you go to Jack Thio.
Driscoll right? Driscoll had played every spot on the offensive line in Auburn, so he was that perfect.
What the Eagles like to do is that position list player.
Same with Cavon Walls position list player.
Then you get to Prince.
Wanna go? He was apparently a huge steel, but I have not heard a single thing about.
I haven't heard about him on the practice squad.
I have not heard about this kid, but he is huge.
He's basically red shirting, so he's basically register because he had he had a knee surgery.
Use that me as an excuse because everything that any time he's been brought up in the presser, people are saying he's healthy.
They just don't think he's ready.
E I thought Prince should be up here by now playing and he's not.
My logic is if Jordan my lot who had never played the sport, is ready in about 2.5 years.
How is Prince wanna go? Who played the sport at a very high level? Not ready to go At least get him on.
Game day dressed We were at a spot where j Moan Brown Ramon Brown was getting dressed.
Prince wanna go? I'm truly believing is a better option.
But again, young guys, why are we not seeing these young guys? Yeah, it za question and I want to quickly touch on the point you said about the Trotter thing.
I don't remember who brought that point up this week on Twitter.
It was it was a one on one of our chats, but Trotter was gonna be most likely a first round linebacker second round early.
But he got red flag to the combine for knee issue and he dropped to the third round.
So his everything was there, his speed, everything was there.
He played Stephen F. Austin.
I think that I understand where you need to get playing time, but to me they're not really that comparable.
But I understand what you're saying.
Dave and Karen needs to see the field more.
And so the other guys, we need to see these young guys.
And I know you know Zach Ertz apparently is back.
But that's the next thing Zach Ertz is coming back this week.
It seems like why? So, is he coming back? And this is gonna be the questions We don't need to spend a lot of time on Zach Ertz, Zach Ertz coming back because they want another weapon for Carson.
Or is he coming back to showcase him for trade? Because I think we've seen enough to know that we have Dallas.
Qatar is our number one tight end.
We have Richard Rogers, who this week was the first time he dropped the ball all season.
You know, he looked really good as that second tight end.
He's not as good of a Bracher, but that's something you could teach, you know, Is he coming back because they want the weapon or is he coming back because they're showcasing them or they coming back just because same reason they're bringing Al Shawn back just because so.
So my response to that is real simple.
I mean, they're bringing him back because he Zach hurts just the same reason they brought Jason Peters back because he's Jason Peters and Al shot back because he's out.
Sean, He's a name with approved with a proven track record, But the problem is, is that by doing that, you take the young guys off the field.
So what's gonna happen is Dallas, Qatar, who's been playing as the number one tight end this whole time.
Earth is gonna go back to that one.
God is going to go back to the to and Roger Roger.
He's going to see the field, maybe 34 plays the same way that Bloom, and we'll see other tight end that they keep putting on the field for every one or two plays a game I don't even know anymore.
That's exactly the point is, is that these guys are taking steps.
Look, we know that Zach Ertz needed a career year to back up the talk that he had back in the spring.
He didn't have it when he was healthy.
He didn't have it.
Then he got hurt and Look, I love Zach Ertz.
I think he is a huge part of what this team waas.
But since he's not gonna be a part of what this team is going to be, don't waste the snaps on the guy.
Yeah, I mean, I agree with that.
I mean, I think the only reason why I would personally play him is even even if it's just for one game or, you know, 2030 stops the game to showcase that he still has something to offer.
And then, you know, we can shut him down and be able to trade him for something.
But, you know, at this point, I think he's lost all trade value.
Johnny, No, you guys hit on it.
It's just, uh you know, it Z at the point.
Where is he gonna help you? Possibly.
But you know where where are we? As a franchise in terms of the following years, you have to look a little bit deeper than just this.
You understand you're still fighting for the division.
But if he's going to show you, the same exact enthusiasm is he did earlier this season and not really give you much production is it really worth it? Not really.
But Dallas got on Mr Rogers giving you more production.
And the problem is like you just said, Like the problem is like you just said, Is that you know, Is he going to be a part of this team moving forward? He shouldn't be.
But we have a loyalty thing.
And look, we'll always have the Super Bowl run.
You know, we'll always have the Super Bowl run.
That's why this team will always love Nick Foles.
But that doesn't mean Nick Foles should be a Philadelphia Eagle e feel the same way about Zach Earth.
Alright, Right now.
All right, so the next question is obviously dug in his presser.
Got anything? He said last week? You're not giving up play calling.
He reiterated that he still thinks he's got a good rhythm calling plays, but on the flip side, he did say for the first time that him giving a play calling is on the table.
Just not No, not John.
You know what you think is gonna happen with the play calling here? Is Doug insane or or what? You know for me, the way I feel about it with Doug is if he was, you know, he's such a good players coach and he's, you know, good at getting guys motivated.
All the kinds of if he were to let somebody you know have different set of eyes on this offense and, yeah, but if he had a different set of eyes on the offense, to be able to call the place and he just be a guy that is the coach of the whole team, not just the offense, off the whole team and be able to coach it, Which means if there's an offensive coordinator and they're the ones calling all the plays, Doug could be able to go over to the quarterback if he has a bad Siri's and everything and be able to kind of what Andy Reid does.
And you know, he does that with talking when these last couple of years, where the enemy has been the O. C.
And even when Doug was it for whatever, a couple, a couple of games or whatever they did over there.
But that's something that he could do, and I feel that would be beneficial and having a different set of eyes on the offense and be able to run different things and have dug kind of take a step back to be able to see everything else in a different perspective.
So hearing what you just said, right? I listen to the press conference live and I found myself with my blood boiling more and more and more and when the question was asked, he goes, Yeah, that was That was a pretty pretty harsh question like he was hurt by the fact that, like anyone would dare even suggests that play calling has taken away.
And then he said the following.
I take pride in my play calling.
I take pride in my play calling and I think I've been in a pretty good rhythm and I'm not ready to give it up quite yet.
And then eventually after getting pestered, a little more goes but it But it's on the table.
He is not giving up play calling.
He is not giving up play calling.
He has made it abundantly clear he is not giving a play calling and the thing that you just said about, if he were tohave an offensive coordinator, he could go over and talk.
Doug Peterson played quarterback in the NFL.
You don't think that a former quarterback in the NFL might have some insight for a quarterback in the NFL who is currently struggling? But Monday night, when Jalen hurts through his one pass, he went right over to judge.
What's up? Eso for me? He knows his job is to coach, but he likes calling the plays Mawr, and he's not going to give it up.
It is mind blowing.
He got backed into a corner during that press conference and uttered the I might I might.
I might consider giving it up.
He might also consider telling you to shove it.
I mean, he's not giving it up.
He is not giving a play calling.
And to who would he give it up to? Even if he did? At this point, there is no one on the team like everybody talks about Duce Staley and I love Juice.
OK, but what is Deuce really done? He's got a couple of good running backs to be good running back, not great running back.
So if he would give a play calling, it would go to probably scan gorilla because he did call plays you know that mid game? It might, But if he gave it up full time, this pains may I'm like sticking a guy.
Not even on the sideline.
I knew you were gonna say that gonna be Marty.
If he gives it up at any point, if Doug gets fired, which we're gonna get into that, that's the next thing we're gonna talk about.
If Doug gets fired, Jim Schwartz isn't the interim coach, Smarty.
He's just sitting up there in the booth, just chilling.
Theo E e veil, You know, kind of guy up there. That's who it is.
But anyway, eso Let's bring up the next segment here.
Okay, that we've got we've got a question.
I'm gonna present the question.
They represent two different comments.
And then Johnny, you could answer first, then, Chip.
All right, So if you could only get rid of one right now, okay? Which we obviously they're not doing it this week.
We'll see how bad next week goes against Green Bay.
If you could get rid of one Howie, Doug or Carson, who would it be now? Before you answer, Adam Schefter tweeted out this week.
Okay? If how he gets fired by the Eagles within 90 seconds, he will have a job.
If Doug gets fired within 90 seconds, he will have three interviews lined up.
Chip doesn't even wanna wait for his answer.
He's commenting on e love it.
All right, so we got the Howie.
Doug would get a job interview instantly.
Then we're gonna put this up here from Jason Ashworth.
Eagles out, the former host of Eagles Outsider.
I don't even know if that show is still on the air or not.
We do our show so I don't pay attention.
Not identical, but RG three he's bring up the RG three Carson comparison team.
Traded a lot to get him.
Had a great start, got hurt, never recovered.
And the organization, The part, the bottom.
The organization didn't do anything to elevate him.
Does it sound familiar? So everybody just assumes Carson's not They want to go away from.
I don't want to get away from Carson, but that comment gives you a talking point at least to bring up Carson.
So we already know chips answer because he butted in line.
But, Johnny, who are you getting rid of? if you could only get rid of one right now, I'm getting rid of how we just because of the track.
Road of what? I've seen what I've seen over the past number of years and you know, the bad free agent signings that didn't work out.
You know, the trades.
I put an article about all the trades that he did since the Super Bowl and the draft picks.
You know, uh, I would go, Howie, In my opinion, that's just that's just what How I feel.
But I don't even want to touch on that comment because the last part of that comment about Jason Ashworth Sweet.
Yeah, okay, I don't you know, in an organization that didn't elevate him and ruin him to me, that's I don't know if he doesn't know the coaching staff of the Red Washington During those almost I almost said it.
I almost said it, but 2012 when he had his great year and they had the injury in the playoffs.
He struggled 2015.
He was replaced by Cousins and then 2016.
He was released 2012 and 2013.
Mike Shanahan, of course, was the head coach, but the offensive coordinator was Kyle Shanahan, the Q B coach.
We'll call Shanahan, who was the head coach of San Francisco.
The Q B coach was Matt LaFleur, head coach of the Green Bay Packers and another quality control coach. Whatever.
Sean McVeigh, who then the next following two years team at the same exact time 2013 and 2014.
Sean McVeigh was the offensive coordinator and Jay Gruden was the head coach.
So you're telling me that organization ruin him? Maybe it was the other way around in terms of saying that RG three, maybe just the injury and everything he just wasn't that good wasn't good anymore.
The injury ruined him to a point of.
He just he just wasn't that good.
I understand that they didn't elevating, didn't help him.
But the other thing was, and I mentioned to you guys the same exact draft.
They drafted Kirk Cousins.
That's what I wanted to bring up.
You know, we all talk about the hurts.
Jalen hurts pick and how it mentally effects.
This is four years in tow.
Five years into Carson Wentz, his career and they picked him could you imagine being RG three? Okay, being the second overall pick.
And they have so much conference in you in the same exact draft.
They draft your backup replacement, right? I mean, a little confidence.
The organization maybe not the coaching staff, but the organization had in him.
And I'm gonna I'm gonna actually flip that on you a little bit.
I don't know if it was so much that they didn't have confidence in RG three, but knowing the style of quarterback that he was, where he's gonna run and get outside the pocket, not having confidence in your offensive line.
So being just afraid that he was gonna get hurt and having a backup plan in place.
So that makes more sense to me than this.
But in this situation and an article leaked out this week where Carson Wentz basically said, Hey, I'm not happy that they got Jalen hurts.
I just just got Nick Foles off my back.
Now I got somebody else breathing down my and I think that's a big thing.
The leaks, because it falls apart, the leaks start falling.
You know, in 16, 17, 18, there were no leaks.
You, Andy Reid are most of it.
There were no leaks outside of Freddie Mitchell.
You know which you're still welcome on the show at any time.
You want a box right here, Freddie Mitchell.
You're welcome, people's champ.
But there are no leaks, really.
All of a sudden, this team has fallen apart late last year, this year and the leaks first that your Stina Andersson last year.
And now this year, all these leaks I don't understand again.
Carson Wentz? Yes, he has had injuries.
And I understand the needing.
A backup quarterback.
So then why is Nate Sudfeld not dressed? Dressed the last seven weeks and you paid him to be the backup quarterback? Chip? Just so you know, Chip, you know, one of our early guests on this show when we first before we were alive, when we're just recording it and posting it on the podcast.
Absolutely. Ron Jaworski.
He was on our fourth or fifth episode on, and I asked him about Nate Sudfeld and he was gushing about Nate Sudfeld.
To an extent, he loved Nate Sudfeld, and he said Nate Sudfeld was a great backup option for this team, so I didn't see that Nate Sudfeld.
But if someone like Ron Jaworski is gonna say it, I'm gonna believe what Ron Jaworski says.
So if we need a backup, why isn't he dressed? If I'm gonna take that Jalen Hurts isn't ready.
Why isn't he the the inactive and Nate Sudfeld isn't playing? I'm gonna take that and raise you a Seth Joyner.
Eight hours ago, Seth Joyner eight hours ago tweeted food for thought.
If Jalen Hurts is not ready to play, why is he the number two quarterback? While Sun felt his three and has been deactivated since week two for 10 weeks, Hurts has been one play away from being the starter for the rest of the year.
Something doesn't make sense with this thoughts.
Then Johnny can answer one thought one word.
And you brought up the draws.
The draws aspect of it.
Randall Cunningham was drafted in the second round out of UNLV round.
Dorsey was a starter.
I know Ron Jaworski was older.
We brought that up on the show with Ron.
But Ron knows about, you know, George.
She knows about that, you know, coming in and then having to leave.
Because But he would put him in.
And but remember Ron Jaworski was at the end of his career s.
It was like he was in his fifth year and 20 and Ron Jaworski brought that up.
He said I wasn't 27 in my fifth year.
I was in the twilight, you know? I mean, he was to step City at that point because I know he's mentioned recently that it was frustrating to be able to take it out.
Put back in, taken out, put back in, which is understandable, especially Aske.
Carson is if you're the franchise guy and you get keep getting taken out for one play and then you're on the field here and then he wasn't on the field.
They had to call a time out.
And then he was.
It was just, uh even when when Jalen Hurts completed the past, I felt bad for Jalen hurts because they took him out right away.
It is impossible to get any kind of rhythm if you are completely a path and then immediately getting pulled running for a first down there immediately getting pulled real side 10.
And did anybody not think when he was put in at the start of the second quarter on second nine that they thought that was the that was the switch.
It was finally happening because I have been on the post game show.
I thought I thought that was the start.
I think that was him being put in the game.
Jalen hurts being put in the game because all week ended, it leaked that Jalen Hurts is going to put in the game.
I thought it was.
If it wasn't him the start.
I thought it was more of a Doug saying, Okay, if he struggles, I'll put him in like you told me to But I'll pull him out after one play and then flipped that.
You can't see it off camera.
You know what I'm doing.
Jeffrey Loria right now is which, with Doug was doing E because Ryan makes an interesting point.
If you're playing well, you don't worry about who they dropped behind you.
But Carson Wentz was playing well.
Carson Wentz Waas Carson Wentz was playing well, so it was the before he got hurt in 2000 and three seasons ago, not even three full seasons ago.
Yeah, just its's.
That's the frustrating thing.
And I didn't mention this to you guys, but I thought that just occurred to me.
Was this? So we know that Carson Wentz is gonna be on the team for the least the next two years, because the way the contract wrote was Wolf.
So say it comes down to Carson is becoming a free agent with all of this garbage going on.
Is there a chance that he gets so say that from now until the end of 2021 2022 he starts to play like the Carson of all he starts putting up numbers like the Carson Bowl and leading the team like the Carson of all.
Is there a chance that this team gets even an opportunity to resign him? But if you go screw you guys, you got Jalen hurts.
It comes down to the money.
If the eagles are offered him a boatload of money, he stays, but they get a lot of money.
And then they gave him all this drama.
Yeah, but but money talks.
Most players will say money isn't the root of all happiness and all, but it iss, he's already got a super role ring even though he didn't play in the Super Bowl.
He still got that ring.
You know, if he's playing great, I'll stay.
I mean, he really will.
I mean, the way we look at what we all talk about, what Carson's making financially right now.
But honestly, Carson's a steel right now if he was playing at his potential, because all these other quarterbacks are getting bigger and bigger deals, every guy next to you, Patrick Mahomes, got 500 million that Prescott is gonna get 500 million.
You know, you know who's the next free agent guy that's gonna come up? I don't know, is gonna get 600 million.
Well, so when 2022 comes and Carson could re up, that's what the money is gonna be like.
So I mean, he's not gonna turn that money away.
My thing, you know, thinking about it.
I was thinking about it a lot.
And then I saw a couple a couple of videos of, you know, the first drive.
And I think it was later in the game, too.
But the first drive that they had and he tried to force it to Richard Rodgers and it got deflected away.
He had Dallas Goddard open across the middle of their honor out.
He wasn't pressured.
And what the the issue is I don't know whose.
You shouldn't have to be coaching up, you know, a 50 year guy where his reads need to be where he needs that.
I don't know what's going on there.
I don't know if it's if he can't take it mentally in terms off, you know someone's back behind me.
And if I play bad, he's gonna replace me and all that.
Um, if that's the case, your NFL quarterback.
So you're gonna be criticized no matter what you dio and I know In his press conference, he mentioned, I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing.
Everything like that.
There's, you know, on his on his end, he needs to start playing like he was playing.
You know, the guy that wasn't turning the ball over because that's the big thing is the turnovers, and I'm not gonna really put the interception on him.
The one interception where Dallas Carter ran the wrong route.
Instead of running outside where you're supposed to run, he ran inside and it got thrown over.
But he's missing way too many open region.
There's another one where Greg Greg board was was wide open and these kind of disconnect.
It's gonna be tough and it's gonna hurt because you're missing these plays.
And Louis, like, said Luis Rid**** brought it up.
And I'm sure Tony Romo will come Sunday because he's very good at that.
You're Tony Romo.
Once you get hated, E hated him.
But now, so I can't wait to hear e.
I think for me there's two riel.
Interesting thoughts here.
There is the thought of um yes, like Richard says that the line is just atrocious and he has no time to really do anything.
And then the other part of it is, is that, like Liu said, he's not accurate, right? He under through a linebacker under through, got her with a linebacker covering him, and you see that he's not being coached up, and to me, I go well, Hold on a second here.
This is a kid who is supposed to be your franchise quarterback, and I watched the whole game and I watched a lot of football and I watch a lot of games.
I'm like, Great pass.
It was a nice, simple pass right in the breadbasket.
Cool Guy had right in stride Another.
I watched that game Monday night, and there was not one past that Carson completed where I was like, that looks like just a great quarterback play.
Everything was an adventure with Carson.
And that's not what you want from your franchise.
Quarterback. He needs some coaching.
All right, we got we gotta wrap this up here.
We gotta go to our commercial break, pay some bills we still got.
So we're almost an hour already.
We still haven't done our keys to victory or keys to the game.
Let me tell you something that the next segments are just gonna lead them or complaining about Carson Wet Peterson and Howie Roseman.
Anyway, so everybody is tuning in.
Thank you so much.
So far, I got a quick little commercial.
Gotta pay the bills.
Then we'll be right back to the keys to the game because there are no keys to victory.
Oh, all right, we are back.
And just so you know, when when the commercials playing, I could see what everybody's doing down here.
Johnny could see what everybody said.
We could all see what each other are doing.
May I'm flipping the bird are playing on my phone.
Just you know, Chip, next time you do that during a commercial break, I'm just gonna cut the commercial short and bring you up, because chip with dancing e mean, I mean, his bad.
I mean, he's the music.
I mean, I thought I was the music guy.
He really is the music guy now, So Okay, we're gonna embarrass you on that one.
So there, watch out. Okay.
Not not embarrassed by your dancer. You have stopped that.
I'm gonna I'm gonna I don't know.
I don't wanna I'm gonna remove you from the show in the middle of the show s.
So let's get started here.
We're calling them now.
Instead, the keys to victory.
We call them the keys to the game because there are no keys to victory.
Before I ask you guys your keys to victory.
We did play Green Bay last year.
Okay, So they won.
The eagles won 34 to 27.
Let's Bowen, today was asking were asked a question his press conference to Jim Schwartz.
He said, You know, you did a really good job last year and my thought process was really so I Google searched the box score.
Rogers had 422 yards last year.
Davonte Adams, Who? Some people debate is better than D.
Metcalf. Okay, at 10 catches for 180 yards.
Before I finished her, he got her name.
That was all. That was all my notes.
You know, I had my hand written notes that I added after I sent you the notes Guys, I wrote that on there and all but anyway, theory Eagles.
Okay, which we're gonna get into this balanced attack.
27 passes, 27 rushes from the running backs and six Carson Wentz rushes.
I don't know which ones were draw plays or forced or rollouts.
I didn't get to that.
So literally 27 passes to 27 rushes they won on third down.
There were five of nine, 44 a half percent over the whole season last year.
This year, in the last three games, they're only 26.
32% on third down.
So knowing how they looked so good but so bad last year what are we What are keys to victory this week? Chip, you wanna go first with your your key to the game? I was gonna say, because you said key to victory.
In which case, I think in the game that staying locked, we said key to the victory for 12 straight weeks here.
So we're switching.
It's the key to the game.
I just gotta retrain the brain here, you know? So you're trying to say, What do we want to see? As Eagles fans who are pretty pretty sure we're gonna lose this game, I'm sure when we get to our final segment, which is our final score predictions, I'm pretty sure all three of us are gonna have them losing the game.
Okay, but what's your key to the game? What do you look? Whether it is to win or it is to just see an improvement.
What you're like to see, I would like to see pressures on the quarterback.
I would like to see Aaron Rodgers have to pick himself up a couple of times.
I would like to see that I would like to see.
Then get the ball on rollouts to Reagor.
Get the ball on rollouts toe.
Hightower, Get the ball on rollouts to the tight end.
I used the three times there was roll out.
If they shoved him into the pocket for 40 passes again, there is not a chance we're going to see any of that.
I want to see Miles Sanders carry the ball more than six times.
Just, you know, as a crazy thing to cut you off there.
Remember, they ran 27 Russians with their running backs last year.
So, technically, if you count all the cars and runs, they ran 33 to 27 last year.
Okay, keep going.
So So what I expect to see is because this team is so stuck in the past is I expect Doug to go through his filing cabinet.
Go Ah, this is the Green Bay game plan and used the exact same game plan from last year, knowing that he's got different personnel knowing they're in a very different place.
Knowing that Carson isn't a mentally different headspace, he's gonna use the exact same game plan from last year, which this other crazy thing happens.
The other team prepares for, and it's gonna get ugly.
But I would like to see rollout passes and hits on the quarterback and Miles Sanders running the ball.
Yeah, that's your keys to the game victory.
So my keys to the game kind of something similar, but I have a little spin on it, definitely run the ball.
But I would like to see Jordan Howard activated and use the tandem of kind of what they did last year and use Miles and use Jordan and go a downhill type of game to set up the play action.
To be able to use that naked bootlegs and stuff like that to be able to use it in the middle of the field with Dallas Qatar, Ertz is activated users as well.
But the other thing is getting what you said with getting the pressure on the quarterback, because that's key with it.
With any quarterback that you do any quarterback in the league, you know, getting the pressure.
Now they're right.
Tackle is Billy Turner, and they lost their starting center, Corey Linsley.
Um, so Now they kind of have a little bit of, ah, shuffle on that offensive line.
Uh, John Runyon's kids playing left guard, uh, they have Lucas Patrick who's another fill in because there are other, uh, right guard got hurt.
So they have a little bit of a shuffle if you can be able to rush Rogers.
But the problem with Rogers is he's gonna beat a lot of pressure with quick throws, so you kinda have to play a little bit.
Do you play a little bit tighter of coverage? Do you play a little bit up? More that your pass rush? There's a lot of stuff that they have to be able to do it.
Hopefully, the defensive line kind of takes over.
The defensive line had a good game against Russell Wilson and containing them.
Yeah, he had one or two where you got out of the pocket, but they were really good at containing them.
And that's what they have to do with Rogers.
Be able to contain the best game of the season from the defense.
R E That's what we paid for.
Thing is, they need to take away.
They need to be able to take the ball away.
And that's why I don't have to stand in front of how many takeaways do they have this season? Someone Google search that real quick? Not many.
I think I've never seen a team.
I don't remember Eagles team with this.
If you take a few few turnovers created on defense Yeah, s so I got a different key to the game because we know they're not gonna win the game.
Okay, um, somebody talked about it two weeks ago.
It was on our network or one of the other networks that Carson Wentz just He looked so bored out there because they're so bad out there because he ran Doug scheme to a kid to a t he just All right, That's the play.
Doug's con, all right.
And it showed how vanilla Doug's play calling has okay.
The other thing Carson's done wrong this year is because of the offensive line and because of the play calling, he's scared toe to pull the trigger.
There is an open receiver right there, but he's not sure yet.
So what I want to see this week is the Carson the old, even if it means it's an interception, even if it means it's an incomplete pass or a dropped ball.
I want Carson to read the field and pull the trigger on the right play.
I don't want to see Tom, **** and John, you know, Twitter people showing clips of this is where he should have earned the ball, but he couldn't pull the trigger.
And I've shared those plays.
You know where he should have gone here.
You know, two weeks ago there was a there was a swinger out where he should have thrown, but he didn't.
I got bashed, saying, Well, maybe the safety was gonna No, no, no, that was the play, Okay? I want to see Carson pull the trigger with no fear of the results of pulling the trigger.
Does that make sense? What I'm saying there because I knew what you based off of what you guys said.
I had to throw a different, you know, key out there, and I wanted to be different.
But it is something that has annoyed me the last couple weeks because on top of all the issues, it's not just that Carson's fidgety in the pocket.
Carson has to be able to see the field.
He's a 6667 quarterback.
There's no height, you know, issue there.
He's back down all.
He's scared to throw the ball because of protection because of lack of weapons that are going to catch the ball.
I mean, on top of the fact that he leads the league in sacks, you know, leads the league in amount of times getting hit.
He leads the league in amount of dropped balls to.
So I need him to just pull the trigger at the right moments to the right.
Reads so that it's not all his fault.
I wanna I wanna bring back the winds hashtag next year. Yeah.
I want to see him do the right thing.
Yeah, and I and I hear what you're saying.
I mean, he right now, And if you think about it being how tall he is, he gets more football batted down the line than a painter.
Yeah, So I I did your Google search while you were talking and hear your numbers.
The eagles actually have 11 takeaways on defense.
More than I would've guessed.
Three interceptions, eight fumbles.
Okay, we've given the ball away 21 times for a turnover differential differential of negative 10, making us the third worst in the league.
Theo Cowboys are right behind us and the Broncos or the worst of league.
You cannot win football games if you dio.
Every announcer says that you do not win football games if you do not win the turnover battle.
That's why they're 37 and one Exactly.
And you are what your record says you are.
So I don't care about the record, you know.
Yes, we could still win the vision.
I would love a playoff game.
My business would prosper with a playoff game.
All those great things.
I just want to see confident play.
Not just from Carson, not just from Carson pulling the trigger.
I want to see you know, Cavon Wallace with confidence.
I want to see Jalen regular with confidence.
Was it last night's game who played on Monday Night Football this week? Us.
Okay, so it wasn't like a football player like maybe maybe it was in today's afternoon game.
I saw a bubble screen today, remember who were in the bubble screen, but it was a well designed bubble screen. It was Pittsburgh.
I forget which Pittsburgh receiver caught the bubble screen.
Maybe it was Claypool, maybe was Deonte Johnson, but Ben Roethlisberger got a bubble screen out there.
The line got out there and block.
They got the first down and it was a big play in the game.
I want to see confidence out of these guys.
I want to see him doing what they're told to dio do it right and and if they fail, they fail.
But at least they're doing the right thing.
And then we can fully blame Howie and Doug and the coaching staff.
And not just blame the lack of talent on these players, right? Exactly.
And I think that's interesting.
You know the fact the matter is that right now we are trying to find somebody to blame.
But at some point, somebody actually has to do the right thing.
So we don't know where Carson is that anymore because he has had such an off year.
But the fact the matter is that if the if the players were called and he was actually willing, take a chance.
Look, think about the game on Monday night when he started getting out of the talking and running and sprinting for first downs and doing what he used to do.
You know, like I agree so, he says, left the Bronco buck.
But you're trying to turn them into a pocket quarterback and Carson Wentz in 2020.
Maybe he will develop into one with Doug's brilliant coaching, But Carson Wentz is not going to be a pocket quarterback.
He's just not this.
This is another one, you know.
I mean, I brought it up when I was setting up this segment on the Keys.
You know, the Eagles last year, where 44.
58% on third down this year over the whole season, there 38.
3% in the last three games.
You know their third down performance is not something that's getting enough discussion, and it's a key to every game.
A couple weeks ago, three weeks ago, they were over on third down, the next for nine.
I don't remember what their stats were last week.
You cannot win games when you're not converted first downs.
The other issue with that is, though, and I know they mentioned it is on first down.
I think they're one of the lowest teams in terms of getting how many yards on first down and right there.
If you don't get Dani, put your fingers up Point John, like, you know, I'm talking about a million times, so you talk to your a game.
But the thing is, if you're not getting yards on first down, you're already in second and long, and there you go with the issues, what they did, that what they've done best when they're under Doug Peterson is get yards on first down and be able to.
And and the thing is doing the up tempo and doing things that work well, with your quote up naked bootlegs and doing things, we can roll them out.
You do what fits your quarterback.
That's what they did with it.
Falls they did would fit the quarterback and what their offense they did.
And the beginning of Carson's career.
They did what work with Carson.
Something has changed in the play calling where it goes, and that's what I was trying to say, because you look at it.
He knows that he needs to run.
You know, I just said it.
27 passes to 27 rushes last week last year against Green Bay.
So what's changed from last year to this year? You know, these aren't made up numbers.
We we get these off of NFL dot com eagles dot com.
You know what has changed to make Doug Peterson changes? Play calling philosophy.
Has he lost his nerve? Is he scared of losing his job? Is the disconnect with the front office? Is worried about what? How he has wanted, because if he lost his mother, if he had lost his nerve, he wouldn't have gone for it on fourth down in field goal range with a two score game.
And then the interception is thrown.
The Onley thing that comes to my mind is again.
So as a teacher, I know that my students are supposed to reach a certain point right and that that that that development has toe happen.
So at some point, I have to start planning for okay, this is where I need you to be, and if you're not there I gotta get you there.
Okay, So the Onley thought that comes to my mind.
And this is this is a Russian gymnast Stretch.
That's how big this one is.
Maybe Doug feels that by year five, a quarterback should develop into a pocket quarterback, and therefore, no matter what happens, we're just not gonna roll them out.
We're gonna say, throw from the pocket, throw from the pocket.
You're getting beat, Throw from the pocket, You're throwing interceptions, throw from the pocket because at some point, you're gonna do it.
But, you know, we said, let the Bronco buck, but at this point, we're beating a dead horse.
Are you sure doesn't have to do with He rolled out towards a C L.
He rolled out, got a concussion.
He rolled out. Of course.
Could it be the injuries that they want to try to mold him into something that you are? Are you saying that Carson scared to roll out? And he's asking Doug not to call the roll out.
I don't think that's the case.
I don't think it is either.
I don't think they started with Johnny.
Just said that idea popped into my head like is that I don't I don't think that's case because you saw in that second half when he did start rolling out, he was all about it.
He was a swag back.
He was popping up your punching.
I'm throwing the counterpunch.
You know, I just I really feel that between how is terrible drafting and Doug refusing to give up the play, calling the Onley person suffering.
Besides, every Philadelphia fan is Carson Wentz.
Yeah, e mean sums it up.
I mean, you know we'll get to our final score predictions in a minute or two, but I mean, there's there's has to roll out.
All these comments are great, and the three comments are basically what every fan, every podcaster, every media member, Every Tom, **** and Jane that knows anything about football is thinking at this point thing.
Then why are the people getting paid money not doing it? And then you've got many.
They say you're going well, Every Tom, **** and Jane is saying that they must know a lot about football, but trust the people who are calling the plays trusting 371 You gotta You gotta fix something.
The thing that annoys May and I brought it up privately and off the air to a bunch of different people is that Jeffrey Lori cares about his image amongst his billionaires.
He wants to be the guy with the trophy case.
He wants to be the guy with the Oscars.
I mean, he has an Oscar.
He has an Oscar to his name, you know, He he didn't want to even own the Eagles.
At first, he got outbid by Robert Kraft on the Patriots.
So then the Eagles were the next best option at that time.
The fact that the guy cares that much about his ego and his trophy case.
And you know what's going on? The fact that he has such loyalty to someone like Howie Roseman? It boggles my mind because the two things don't match up.
For some reason, he wants the trophies.
But yet he won't fire the one person.
Yes, he sold his soul to the devil Howie Roseman in 2017.
You made every right decision, but you take 2017 out of the equation.
Name me one other year that he made the right decisions.
More than one right decision there isn't another and it's not two or three years that he's made bad decisions.
We're looking at, what, 10 years that he's made bad decisions.
One Pro Bowl player in the last 50 picks? One.
It's not like we have a small track record of failure.
We have, Ah, huge track record of failure.
And we talked about it.
Maybe on another show or off the air.
Andy Reid fell apart.
Chip Kelly fell apart here. Uh huh.
Doug Peterson is falling apart.
Here was the one common denominator of all that.
How we Is there another common denominator? No, there's not.
And something that needs to be brought up is the fact of, you know, I saw someone 30 minutes ago.
Say, like, is Doug trying to get fired? And that has been a topic of conversation.
I don't think a few weeks and trying to get fired, but at the same time, is this Doug's team or how he's team something we're gonna be talking about for weeks because, honestly, we all expected a firing after the Seattle game.
But I didn't expect toe bad that happened.
I wanted the firing, but it wasn't even if they lost 42. Nothing.
No one's getting fired on Monday night. Earth.
All right, Johnny, we're gonna jump into the Elect locks.
All right? We need to run down of our pick totals, Okay? Before we pick our locks of the week, What do you got? As are running total? I know.
I'm in last place.
Just give it to me.
So with the locks last week, you were two and one.
So bring your total of 13 and 20.
Bank account? Definitely.
I was 11 and one.
So almost like the Eagles.
Except for just, you know, the type one in riel.
Betting terms is lost, but we'll give you the tie because we're just time.
So I'm 15, 16 and two.
So basically, I'm, like, 15 and 18, but, you know, we'll go with that.
It's gonna give us it will be giving his locks.
But then the overall, uh, season basically pick comes that we dio I know Chip has been doing here, so he's posted his, I think last week you were 13 and three posted three last week.
I was excited, and you're straight up.
Pick comes straight up on the season.
Now with that 13 and three, I am now 101 74 1.
I put me over 100.
I'm in triple digits. E.
He's a little happy.
Um, last week, Phil was 12 and four.
All right, so just just had a good week last week, based off picks, I was 10 and six, so I wasn't as good as Phil.
Nobody's ever as good as may.
No one's ever as good as you did.
We're at an hour and 15 minutes now.
This show is gonna fall off the rails.
But so my locks this week.
Okay, I have the Jaguars plus 10.
I know it's not a popular pick.
Plus thing is Minnesota. Dalvin.
Cook was a little bit beat up.
I'm not sure I know he's really good, you know, with feeling and Musharraf Fields will be playing, but the Jaguars in that game and he's Minnesota.
Okay, I don't know the double digit.
I understand the Jags are struggling, but they played a close game last week and I don't know.
I just feel like Yeah, they may, they're gonna lose.
But I think it's gonna be, you know, in that closer range, I have Washington and plus 9.5.
They do play Pittsburgh.
But Washington's, they've been They've been playing very well.
Alex Smith has been playing very well.
Their defense of lines Very good.
So their defense has been playing well as well.
So I think that game is gonna be close.
I think Pittsburgh still wins. That's gonna be closer.
And then I have Seattle minus 10.
The Giants are going with Colt McCoy, I think.
Yeah, I think that Seattle blows them out.
I looked at all three of those games and I thought about all three of those games.
But I skipped on all three of those games.
The pitch, the pitch, I don't know.
So we're gonna I got three, my three.
So the first one I've got the Jets Raiders game jets for the home team.
There are plus 7.5 against the Raiders.
Raiders air, Starting toe.
Fall apart a little bit.
I'm gonna go the Jets.
Last week I said the Jets are gonna win one game this year.
I thought it was last week.
I'm not saying they're gonna win outright this week like I said last week, but the Jets are going to cover that 7.5 this week.
Okay, It's gonna be close.
Raiders Air falling apart a little bit.
The Jets are the home team I hate when a West Coast has to go East Coast or vice versa.
The Jets cover the 7.
5 points that XGames one.
I've got the Cleveland Browns Air, I think. No.
The Cleveland Browns on the road against the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns Air Plus six.
Everybody's hating on the Cleveland Browns.
I was watching the Heat ratio fantasy firebox earlier tonight, and I'm talking to, you know, Tony Castillo.
Everybody talking bad about Baker.
Mayfield doesn't matter.
They got a great running game.
Tennessee's defense is not what it used to be.
I love the Browns, plus six points.
Okay, they might actually win that game outright.
Okay, then my third game, we got the Atlanta Falcons coming off a big win right home against the New Orleans Saints.
Finally, my prediction of the taste of Hill failure will happen this week.
Let's eat them Hill experiments over this week.
The Falcons Air plus three, They definitely not.
Maybe they definitely win that game outright.
The Falcons this week.
So I got the Falcons plus three, the Browns plus six and the Jets plus seven a half.
I'm taking all underdogs this week.
Okay, chip, your three picks this week.
So I was looking.
I have a couple of those games listed here, so it's It's interesting games.
I understand and agree that I'm awesome and I know what I'm picking.
So I think that I looked at that Raiders Jets game and I think that the rate So my first pick is the Raiders.
I think they win by more than eight because it's still the Jets.
It's still the Jets.
And because the Raiders are starting to fall apart, they're gonna wanna smack down on a team that can't really hang.
So I'm taking the Raiders.
I know this is the all about the Birds Network, but I'm taking the Packers 8.5.
Yeah, I mean, I figured we'd all I I avoided that just cause I figured it was pretty obvious at that point.
You know what? I'm still new to the whole using lines and betting and gambling.
So I'm taking things that I know we're gonna happen.
We're definitely losing by more than nine point So and, uh, a lot more than nine points of my father.
I'm betting them.
So you see what I did there on.
But I like that Bills 40 Niners game.
5 spread, which means I got the bills.
I think the bills, we're gonna win by more than two points.
Okay, way Do have one question about the chief's game.
I'm trying to put the chief score the Chiefs air minus 14 at home to the Broncos.
Personally, I hate double digits scores.
I especially hate to touchdown lines Now why? I think the Chiefs will win that big.
If you're a betting person, I'll bring it up tomorrow night on the fancying gambling show with Jason and Josh.
I would That's the game, but you should expect the Chiefs to win that by double digit for sure, right? Yeah, Whether or not it's 14 is a question, but yeah, no.
Yeah, I I just don't know about that one.
You clear that static up chase shop there, Johnny? What? No, we're getting a lot of static on you.
All right, Well, just mute him for a second here.
You're muted for a second there, J. Arab.
Johnny, you're you're You're all over the place there.
All right, so we got our locks locked in there for the week.
Got to get to our final score.
Predictions before we get off the air.
We're pushing an hour half on this show.
We're all exhausted.
We're all tired.
Ship you go first with your final score.
So before I joined you guys, I did my own little separate WordPress thing.
And then, you know, I was you were nice enough to extend the invitation.
So I went I went all the way back to my season predictions.
Right? And I'm going to read.
So I looked back and I thought that the seven and four eagles would lose a tough fought game.
Well, that has changed.
Packers hold on Syrian 42 17 packers.
I just don't see us stopping a team.
Or also, you're not that I don't see us scoring.
Uh, I just can't.
I'm gonna commute you there.
We've got a lot of stuff come through, but I I need to hear your score. Prediction.
Oh, you want to do next? All right, I'm gonna re mute you, then.
I don't know where the 16 is gonna come from.
A lot of field goals, I guess.
You know, they're They're just not gonna hang there.
Zero confidence that the team could score.
There's zero confidence that then get in the end zone.
There's zero conference it.
Doug can develop a game plan for this team to win.
Probably step ahead of Russell Wilson, in my opinion, as the M v p.
This year, I think because Russell Wilson has fallen off the last couple of weeks, I wouldn't exactly you have to look at the whole season right beginning of the season.
Russell Wilson was a lot of sin.
Right now I'm saying Aaron Rodgers, B M v P Patrick Mahomes actually is to and Russell Wilson's actually fall into three on my M V P voting.
I'm gonna, um, unit there, Johnny.
I'm using myself.
You don't get the right.
So, um, you if I mute you, you stay. Mute it.
No, I'm all right.
So you guys have your picks, okay.
He's just trying to be that special person.
He wants to be the 1% chance that the Eagles win.
He wants to be like, Look, I called the Eagles with little Giants the 99 times out of 100.
There's still that one time there.
Is that one time I'm going 28 27 evils.
But why? Why? Don't tell me.
Because you have a hunch.
No, I think this is gonna be another reason.
There's no other explanation, So yeah, I guess you could call it a hunch, but I'm saying it 28 27.
I think they do kind of go what they did last year. Run the ball.
I say I think Jordan Howard gets activated.
Two rushing touchdowns for miles, one rushing touchdown for Howard re rushing touchdown and they score again somehow, whether it's God or the Earth's or whatever.
But I think they win 28 27.
Hey, it could end up being 52 10 Green Bay.
But I'm going with the Eagles.
I'm just saying it could happen and let's really let's just be really clear, Phil And I'm not saying we want our scores toe happen.
No, I know that.
We're just saying that Nothing e just don't you know, we got Rogers throws 3 50 a couple of times. Thanks.
And and and and and And he said, This is the game that somebody is getting fired.
You know Adam checking in 30 28 Eagles.
Just like Johnny with the positive with it.
Let's let's make it happen.
Let me let me show up on Monday night on my show and be like, I can't believe how wrong I waas.
But this is something here.
Everyone's talking about the firing.
If you look at Geoffrey Lorries track record, he does not fire people.
Mid season Chip Kelly got fired, what with one game left to G O.
Maybe two games left to go.
Was it Andy Reid was after the season.
Ray Rose was with one game left to go.
I believe it. Waas.
He's not gonna fire anybody.
I don't think yet.
Now, if we can continue on this trajectory, come weeks 16 against Washington, someone could get fired.
But I just don't see it yet.
Well, the games on Sunday.
So if it's gonna happen, is gonna happen on Monday.
Not Tuesday, don't you? A.
And we've talked about this enough, I don't think because he won a Super Bowl.
Doug is not a mid season five.
I think you get the respect correct.
Finish out the season how maybe you give him you get rid of him 1 to 2 weeks of the season.
Maybe Jim Schwartz, if we're right in the Green Bay, puts up 35 to 42 points.
Maybe Jim Schwartz goes, but you know, maybe, but Doug stays for the whole season.
He gets the whole season he's earned worst.
It's one game left in the season when he gets fired.
That's my opinion.
Do you guys got anything else to say before we wrap up this great show? Time to wrap it up.
Anything else? No, I got nothing else.
All right, let me run down the run down sheet here.
Everybody for tuning in. Great show.
We went almost 90 minutes tonight.
One of the longest, all about the bird shows Great work from everybody.
Johnny, you leca at Johnny u 93 to 2.
Chip kg at CIP Wrote your thing down.
I keep forgetting yours.
E Gotta wait for a tow.
Go across the screen there, Chip for the birds.
That's right, E.
All right, so this week, we've got coming up.
Soon we got the fantasy show and gambling show.
Tomorrow night at 8.
30 we got Johnny's draft show nine oclock on Friday.
We're going to do obviously, Yeah.
Can we all agree? That sucks.
We could all agree.
Agree? Sucks always, You know, actually really dio they actually do this year.
Obviously we'll be live at halftime and the postgame show on Sunday when the Eagles are battling Green Bay Packers.
And then, of course, while Monday the chip in this show 6.
Obviously, we gotta thank last out media.
