Thank you and welcome to the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
My name is Doug McCain followed me over at D mag Underscore Lay, but the Dodgers get it done today.
Comeback win for your Los Angeles Dodgers.
They avoid the sweep.
They sal***ed the give the finale in the wind, but welcome to the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
Thanks for Rocky with us as always.
Before we break the whole game down, getting a lot of stuff, I want you guys let me know in the comments.
One mashed that heartburn for Cody Bellinger, John Peterson.
And how about the pitching staff? The pitching staff from Sadler that Kenley came in looked good to Joe Kelly.
They did the **** thing.
Ross Stripling out a nice start today, Dustin.
They will talk about him.
He had some issues.
Get well, pray for dust in May.
But the Dodgers? They get that much needed win, really sliding into a funk hair.
But your Los Angeles Dodgers, they come.
They win the game.
They Victoria's game 1 39 of 1 62 The daughters. They had one.
They had lost six of nine heading into today's game, and they really needed that tonight they really needed tonight's win, and they just really outslug.
There's dying back team All the Dodger runs today coming via the long ball and John Peterson killed a baseball today.
He unload on a pitch 450 feet. Four.
John Peterson. But we'll break the whole thing down.
Happy Labor Day weekend.
Thanks for joining us here on the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
But you know how we get things kicked off a little roll call here, Give me those it coats.
Give me those area code.
Tell me where you're watching the Dodgers Nation postgame show and also massed at heart.
But share retweet for your Los Angeles dies.
They get the comeback win today.
And then Cody Bellenger he gets the bomb in the top of the night.
But we're gonna break everything down in just a second.
Let's start right at the top.
Strong emoji Lovett 80 goal jog Looks back like play me more job.
Look, John Peterson, He's had his struggles of late. John Peterson.
This road trip heading in today was five of 18 who is riding over six streak and John Peterson is a very streaky hitter that's capable of doing stuff like he did tonight.
He's cable of connecting with one and putting a deep into the seats you saw and the home run derby you saw in 2017 when he had three home runs against the Astros.
But give John credit.
I don't know what this home run home run means as faras his spot on the Dodgers as far as where they can use him as a as a leadoff guy or something like that.
But ah, great much needed Jack for John Peterson.
Let's give me your Dodger.
Takes gonna read him off right here in the postgame show.
Throw him in. The comments Don't Crosby.
Man, I hope this is okay.
Season record for home runs and jogs.
Home run finally landed here and East Lansing, Michigan.
I love the Dodgers now 75 32 when they hit a home run 14 and eight when they don't.
And tonight now they're up to 240 home runs.
Now the Dodgers are so the dire 238 home runs on the year, so ah, historic season.
Look, the month of August, they struggled.
And the month of August they're averaging 3.
8 runs per game.
After that 16 run out poor against the Blue Jay.
So the offense they score, they score, they get it.
They get enough runs tonight to get it done.
And it all comes by the Via the home by the deep shot by the Long ball and David Freeze.
Give David freeze a lot of love.
Mash the hard bun for David.
He had missed 34 games since the 26th of July, and he starts things off the right way.
He goes deep dead center, and he's gonna be a very big, big pickup for this Dodger team to re implement him.
End of this Dodger lineup and have David freeze Canetti on Jack's A great sight to see.
But here we go. 70 to Vegas.
Joe, Put those zip codes.
Area codes light up the common section where you're Dodger takes clear 29 04 Evening.
Everyone from Montreal, Canada, Canada.
What's up? What's up? David Hornick seven.
Time to turn it around and win it at home.
Hey, look, the Dodgers, they There was a lot of talk to the Dodgers celebrating the pool like we did in 2013.
Now they're set up to I would say, an equally as as rewarding, clinching and doing against the San Francisco Giants.
So they do it at home against the Giants.
That'd be great.
But more importantly, the Dodgers just needed this.
Needed this win the Braves.
I think they were tied.
They were closing in.
Had the Dodgers lost and they want it had been a three and 1/2 game lead against the Braves.
You saw the Astros win.
The Yankees lost, So they're in a dogfight with these elite clubs to secure that home field advantage throughout the world. Siris.
And if you're the Dodge, that team that has the home record they have that has the pitching staff that the pitches as well as they do at home.
You want to get that home field advantage at home and then also you wanna have that final at bat in your back pocket.
And tonight's a great example that you want that file at bat in that back pocket and the Dodgers they came alive late, Cody Bellinger said.
Welcome back, Cody Bellenger.
But Cody Bellinger, if you're looking at at Cody, be now He ties Mike Trout.
43 home runs for Cody Balance.
We got Hector, Thank you.
We got Jack a much needed win and definitely a much needed win.
This road trip was not pretty.
They had their issues throughout this road trip.
You had everyone using the F word, and I'm talking about Funk, where the Dodgers sliding into a little funkier.
And, yes, the Dodgers they have.
Did these games mean different things for this team versus the Diamondbacks that DIA backs? They were hot coming into this game.
They had won six games in a row and they're fighting to get into the playoffs.
And this offense is definitely potent is a good offense.
So give credit to that to that Dodger.
Give credit to that Dodgersbullpen.
They they came in and it was unfortunate what happened to Dust in May, and I hope you like Dodgers Nation tweeted he He left the game on his own power, so I don't think it's gonna have any lingering issues.
It was a shot bye against Dustin May, but ah, but I was really interested to see how he would look in this one.
Does he make? Came out first time coming out of the bullpen since he gave that Grand Slam toe Ortega a couple weeks ago and he struck out Dyson really, really well located, 98 mile per hour faster sinker thing he's got.
He had the soft contact like he likes to induce.
But look, Castro, he was super fast.
I like ah ah, Dodge Nation column loaf Astro.
He's very He's got burners on the base path.
So he lands that.
But he was high on a lot of pitches.
Wasn't locating that cutter very effectively, but unfortunately, he took that.
That was a scary sight.
Took that that shot from Jake Lamb right off a buddy came off under his own power and 1/3 inning 25 1/3 innings for Decimate tonight.
25 pitches, 15 strikes, 25 pitches.
So didn't have great command.
Still a work in progress for Dust in May, but he just has detainment.
He s to tame it and get that start committing that strike zone because Ross Stripling.
He was running a nice tight strike zone and he looked really well. He looked really good tonight.
I was very impressed what I saw with Rob's with Ross Stripling.
He comes out and get the get the double plates while you get the 643 and the bottom of the first.
And he was facing the minimum eight pitches in the first has caught his curveball.
He was doing it for strikes, was getting soft contact.
So if Ross Stripling comes back, he's fighting for that playoff roster.
He wants to be in the bullpen.
We know they're not gonna stretch him out to be a starter, but But he showed me something tonight.
Ross Stripling, Show me something.
Would you guys think of Ross Stripling first game back coming off, coming off injury and ah, how did you guys feel about Ross Stripling? First start since July for July 24th and he held.
He was a big part in helping the Dodgers snap this three game losing streak, so he had been struggling to Zoe before with the area of 54 in the second half.
So Ross Stripling, I think that was a very encouraging sight to see tonight.
But back to your comments, how you guys feel It's nice to get a walk off.
Look, you had people talk, not a walkoff.
Comeback win and the Dodgers do it in long ball fashion.
You had all these? I was reading all these tweets.
Oh, the Diamondbacks have never swept the Dodgers at Chase Field, so there was gonna be a little history in the wrong.
The dollar's going down the wrong side history today.
But guess what did not happen.
The Dodgers, they get the win tonight and and back to your comments.
Those light light these up, guys.
Rapid fire. Read a ton of these off.
I'm gonna get to your comment, so just stay stand pat.
Stay locked in here in the Dodgers Nation.
Postgame show Schmo.
What a mess, huh? Hey, Well, today, when you when you when you're going into a game and you lost six of nine, you'll take a win anyway.
You can, and especially when you come back in the night thinking that that does not come when you come back in the top of the night.
Those winds do not come easily.
So if you're the daughters, you take a win any way you can, and September 1st you turn the page. Look, August.
If you look at August 51 home runs in August, the Dodgers they did get into a little sliding.
There were 17 and 11 in August, but this is a real spark, and away they come home. They can clinch the division.
They can start zeroing in on this playoff run.
Because the Dodgers can't limit of the playoffs.
They really need to figure some things out.
They need to answer a lot of questions.
The questions about Kenley Jansen question about the bullpen We need Alex for Do Go back is a great piece on Dodgers nation dot com from Marshall Garvey about John Peterson, and I've been in total agreement with him for quite some time on the job.
Peterson as any business as leadoff hitter and I've been a strong advocate for Alex Verdugo and when Alex Verdugo comes back.
So we got Alex Verdugo back coming pretty soon and uh, yeah, it was definitely a mess. You're right.
But the Dodgers, they get that much needed win and, ah, give give Sal a lot of credit.
Yeah, though you had the game winning run on second with one out and and he was there, he was doing it.
And but the Dodgers? We look at it if they're trailing.
After eight innings this year, the Dodgers were five in 44 5 and 44 when trailing after eight innings.
So the Dodgers it looked much of was made about how they had a 30 lead in the 1st 3 games of the series.
Maybe the Dodgers, they're playing chess while they're playing checkers.
They waited until they Ah, they could have a 30 lead and they make their comeback in the ninth.
But, ah, here we go back to the comments.
So glad Dodgers won.
Let's write off lies.
What up, Doug? What's up, Randall? She's always He's always in the mix.
What? Brandon? I do, my man.
Ah, what's up, Doug? From this scared coast of North Carolina Hurricane Alley, give me an update.
My dad lives out that way.
I've heard some crazy things, but Tony Felix, are we at Dodgers Stadium? That's what I was saying, I said, You saw me on Twitter.
I say The daughter said it came out in their home whites because that is Dodger Stadium West.
I mean, Dodger Stadium South.
I guess you would call it, um, out there.
A Chase Bank field and the Dodgers took over shadows.
It's, Ah tell you, you're the best fans in the game.
You already know that record attendance reflects that.
They set record attendance because the Dodgers, now the dying back, suggests anything was 52,000.
So that's all Dodger fans because they best fans in baseball for got good reason.
Yes, I understand.
This week the struggle was really you had you had some issues with the Dodgers that will get into.
But look there, exhilarating there, an exhilarating team.
And they had trouble.
I mean, after the fourth inning, they had no base runners.
They had no base runners until Polly got on.
So they really fell down a hole.
There was a stretch there.
The bats went quiet.
And but, hey, they stole one from the Diamondbacks and the Diamondbacks.
There are they their sense of urgency for this dying backs was that was through the roof.
They needed this game very badly because they're trying to make a run.
They want to be like the toe 1006 Cardinals or 2002 Angels or a Geo.
We've seen teams in baseball get hot at the end and anything's possible. But here we go.
Okay? Ah, I'm not gonna butcher that.
But I'm pretty sure was a positive thing about the Dodgers out of the bottles.
Do it. Dodgers, Derek.
Good to see another win on the board.
They avoid the sweep.
So why doesn't it feel like it from her? D.
Newsome? Look, this is a team that this is a team that has had very, very little.
They avoid major slums all season long.
We have avoided major slums all season long, and and this could be good for the Dodgers.
This could be a positive thing for a Dodger team that has gone pretty much wire to wire.
Yes, they started eight and eight.
They had the four game sweep.
They swept the Cardinals.
They got swept by the Padres heading into the All Star break but a lot of these young guys weren't on that team.
A lot of these guys that are contributing now guys like Mad Baby guys like Will Smith or on this team, and it's good.
I mean, it's it's a good thing for them to have two to go against this.
This, uh, this adversity, like Tommy Lasorda says Onley.
Problem with success is that it does not teach you how to deal with failure.
So this they need to understand how to deal with failure.
Same goes with Kenley Jansen.
He spent the majority of his career as a dominant reliever, but he's been humbled for by this whole entire month.
Will get into that in a bit.
Peterson, Our third EVP from Samuel Sanday.
Rick Garcia very impressed with the Dodgersbullpen today.
Great job, guys.
You said it best because this Dodger I mean, who do you guys have? Is your play of the game to go with Jock? You go a Cody Bellenger you go with Oh, yeah.
I mean, as a unit.
I think you got to go with the bullpen.
Pedro Baez came in and he was lights out He hit 97 on the fastball.
He got Ahmed and you got.
I just love the confidence of Pedro Baez hitting 1 80 against Pedro Baez.
So he's a guy that's building confidence, and he looks like a guy that, hey, you wouldn't it wouldn't be far fetched at this point to see him out there and save opportunities.
I think the idea of this whole idea, I think the whole idea of the Dodgers having a closer to me is already is already a lost conversation.
They don't need a.
There's zero chance I'm going.
Kenley Jansen as my primary closer on a day in and day out basis.
The only to me best case scenario with Kenley Jansen is they get him right and that he could give you save every other day or when he's rested when he's getting a clean inning.
But he did get that.
Ah, a nice appearance tonight.
That Cutter was 93 but had great, great run on a great movement on it.
So give him some credit, but the bullpen they deserve all the credit.
They had 14 because 14 straight retired at one point tonight.
So and then Sadler give him tons of credit all the crime in the world because he battled out there with the winning run on second.
But, ah, tonight and also they had, you know, the way it worked out with them, they didn't know that just Dustin May was gonna get Ah, get that shot there and they came in.
And if you look at it, Ross Stripling Two hits, two strikeouts.
Kolarik came in, he two and 2/3 innings.
Ah, walk! Hey gives up a hit, but he gets out getting Caleb Ferguson to strong innings from Caleb Ferguson.
Welcome back dealing, Floro.
One strikeout for Floro, Kenley Jansen.
Two K's for Kenley and that's a very big sign now.
I do have some issues with this whole narrative that he told Dave Roberts he wants to come out and pitch today and this and that.
That should be a nonstarter.
You'll pitch when Dave Roberts and the staff in the organization thinks that it's good for the team.
It's, and it could lead to a win.
Should have no say in that situation, especially with the Dodgers.
If he's with these Dodgers trying to hold off the Braves at this point for the best right in the National League and then also making a big run for the best record in all of Major League baseball.
I've said it again and again again.
This Dodger team of any team in major league baseball could benefit from home field advantage.
And look, it doesn't mean that the daughters won't have to wait on the road that Dodgers are goingto have to win on the road.
They're gonna have to steal games in the postseason.
But you want to be in those friendly confines of Dodger Stadium come postseason and Ah, here we go Back to you guys.
Ah, here we go. I hope May's okay.
Gary, What are we going to get a real manager? Hey, that Ah, that intentional walk to a walker Thio to go a Dyson A.
I'll file that one entering under a good move for Dave Roberts.
Dave Roberts isn't the perfect manager.
I wasn't I was Ah, it felt like a little trolling when he was Ah, when you had Matt Baby showing bunt and Justin Turner showing bunt, I thought that was a little bizarre but they get the win.
Eddie Harrison Peterson destroyed that ball.
Way to go Austin.
Does anyone know if Lux is getting called up? Because a lot of reports are saying he is.
Gavin looks is going to be called up.
And and he's Yeah, Gavin Lux is definitely being called up.
He's definitely being called up.
Dave Roberts was hinting at the fact that it wasn't just to observe.
And it's great, yes, coming up here and being an apprentice, seeing guys like Justin Turner, David Freeze.
Absorbing the professionalism and the culture of the Dodgers can bode well, but this guy.
49 games in Oklahoma City, he slashing 3 92 4 78 7 1918 Doubles, 13 home runs and 39 r b i's, ah 113 games.
This season, he's hitting 3 47 4 21 in 6 to 7 and 607 with 59 extra base hits.
76 R B I's in 10 stolen bases.
Is a guy who we all want to see him, and with this farm system, that's been the gift that keeps giving.
Maybe you strike lightning in a bottle once again and you see what you can get out of. Gavin looks.
I think he start at short today, and but he can play some outfield and and I want to see Gavin looks out there on the field.
I want to see Gavin looks.
I just want to see what he can do Max months and we don't know what's going on with his wrist, but the Dodgers are definitely very deep with middle infielders.
They have a lot of guys that can play the position.
So, you know, even look at Jericho.
Jericho made some good plays today in the grown looks tailor Ke ke Muncie.
But hey is a meritocracy here in the show.
So if he comes in and he's hot, you ride that hot hand, see what he can D'oh! And you know, it just feels like it really does just feel like the Dodgers are are bringing him up to see what he can d'oh! And to see if he can replicate a lot of that success that that he's seen.
We'll see if you could be a luxury, you know, he his name lends itself to some fun puns, too so a lot of the Dodger players do that.
But the magic number down to seven for your boys in blue gave back into these comments.
Happy Labor Day weekend.
Thanks for joining us here on the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
Don't forget, go to Dodgers nation dot com.
All the best Dodger content got some great pieces.
They have some options for our options.
For with you, it can only the greats apiece with Marshall. Guard Garvey.
Why have the Dodgers won the World Series? Daniel Preciado has a great piece about Cody Bellenger ****yzing some of his his struggles or lack thereof, and just a deep dive on his stats in the second half and has always just the best content.
But here we go. Carlos, let's go. Dodgers.
Jose Guzman, The Pomona Dodgers Ryan Do Did the Yankees lose four straight before being the Dodgers two out of three? Take a deep breath.
That's a great point, Ryan.
You hear you always have the habit of being a prisoner of the moment, and you just you feel that fire after a loss after a Siris and and I'm with you so P y que es checking in from Dodgers Stadium East.
What up, P Y k y as always, rapping here.
So you were at Dodger Stadium East.
You're one of the boys.
You were one of the many Dodger fans in attendance.
At this point, it is Dodger Stadium.
It is Dodger Stadium East.
They should do fan giveaways like Dodger bobbleheads at DIA back Stadium Stuff like that because they they're put we're putting butts in the seats all throughout.
Major League baseball wasn't just Arizona.
We did it on the East Coast trip in Boston and Philly.
So, hey, how many examples we need Dodgers Nation.
We are elite. Were the best fans. Amazing baseball.
Hopefully, by the end of this year, this culminates into a world Siris, and we're all popping bottles on Figueroa.
We need that champagne all over the place.
So, Charles, what up, Charles? Another reason I'm not worried about postseason.
You might get a few games on us, but we're just too good to allow four wins.
Can't keep our bats silent that long.
That's a great point, Charles.
In a you know, there's a short Siri's.
There's a short Siri's that could be a concern and I'm confident that this team, when everything's going right, that there's no team in the National League and as the depth of the Dodgers that has the approach of the Dodgers when we're playing our best baseball, when we've implemented the new approach that Robert Vance Quake has instilled going 123 Aah! Times through the order, seeing pictures, multiple times, working the count that team, that is when this team offensively is at its best.
Unfortunately, they have regressed in some of those habits 3.
8 runs per game in this slump.
But I'm with you.
The Dodgers, when they're at their best offensively, they can rake with the best of them.
David Freeze Coming back. That was promising.
Kiki Hernandez give Kiki Hernandez a lot of crazy.
Last nine games, he's hitting 3 70 He was three for 12 of the Siri's, but Kiki Hernandez, a guy seven for 22 on the road trip.
He's hitting 3 70 So Chris Taylor, since coming back, he's hitting to 97.
He had a double, by the way.
Do you love about Chris Taylor? He doubled that one out would have been a single for most players, but ct three he wield that one.
And unfortunately, they don't get a run off that jerk.
Oh, um, they stranded key.
Ah, stranded ct three.
That was in the fourth inning when he was when he made it to third on the past ball.
But give Chris a lot of credit.
He's looking like he is is ah, that that that that wasn't a blip, that his his consistent hitting is something that the Dodgers could potentially count on.
And then in the defensively, he's a guy very versatile.
We saw that play against Milwaukee last year, the NLCS.
He's a guy that's not afraid to make that big play defensively.
So when he comes back, we'll see what I mean when vertigo comes back there to see what they're gonna do with him as far as we're gonna throw him in the outfield.
But Lloyd needed this one great job, John.
The 90602 steam.
You know, John Peterson killed a ball.
That's what I'm saying, man.
Shawn. Great win.
Definitely needed it.
Hope to see Lux tomorrow.
Hey, Gavin looks he's a guy that everyone is excited to see everyone wants to see Gavin looks, by the way, go do Dodgers Nation Dodgers nation TV youtube dot com slash Dodgers Nation TV and listen to an exclusive interview that the real FRG clamp Osias did with Gavin looks from the Blue Heaven podcast that Brooke Smith and and and, Ah.
And, um, it gives you a lot of insight.
You learn more than just I love when you learn more than just about the baseball, what's in between lines.
You learn what kind of shows he's into.
Got kids, got a great personality, and the Dodgers are just Ah, just champing at the bit to get him in that Dodger in that Dodger Blue, as far as the big leagues is concerned.
So a lot of people going crazy for that.
But John Peters, here we go, back to you guys.
618 Love our Dodgers.
Christopher Sue Tim to await lows.
California Scott Break California ELISA 90702 Any magic Number seven.
Steve Moon Ho's Derek.
Anyone from Australia? What up, Derek from Australia.
The old see, um I don't know is the one from Australia where you from Perth or were you from a man? Gimme.
Ah, Joseph, I belly should be player of the game Don Gualtiero Stratford, Connecticut Halimi South Central nine.
Double 047 p y Cares Dodger fans are amazing.
Mayday, Mayday! Chase Field record on attendance.
50 K Exactly that.
I almost think it was laughable that the Diamondbacks were trying to embrace that, considering how many Dodger fans were in attendance.
I actually, I have to admit, though, I have to admit hate on the Diamondbacks.
Yes, but I do what I do.
Wanna chill out in that? Ah, I don't tell me it's all my baseball bucket list to hang out in that Jacuzzi.
I want to just do that one of these days.
But all time the Dodgers against the Diamondbacks, they're now to 13 to 14 and 1 79 all time against the D Backs, now 11 in eight this year.
So when it first time, the doctors have had a winning record against the Diamondbacks since 2016.
So this team has been a little bit of a bugaboo for the Dodgers in recent years.
You sold in 2017 daughters, had an over six stretch against the Diamondbacks during that slide, they would go on to erect them in the playoffs when it mattered most, so that's more important.
But this Dodger deal, I think, is really important just to get this Ah, get the train rolling back in the right direction.
This this struggle, we knew that we know that it was inevitable.
The Dodgers are gonna win every baseball game every Siri's. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, Dodgers Nation.
I wish it was that easy.
But the important thing about these losses is toe learn from them, is to is to find out who you can trust in certain spots is to try.
And personally, I don't know if, um and that's really the question.
The question is, are the Dodgers using these as workshops? Are they using these as workshops for Kenley Jansen? The home run yesterday that was 81 mile per hour slider.
So are is how is that gonna be there for the Dodgers trying to do that? Trying to use this as a workshop for guys like Kenley Jansen to get out there and get right.
But, um, back to you guys pray for May from Jonathan Mammy car way to go Blue candy waiting Go! Dodgers Todd did it for May Joseph.
Mega Xeni v i, p.
Member of the Dodgers Nation postgame show from detail.
You all are V I.
P s, by the way, is a big club is a big club.
Charles Hammell Jock destroyed that ball.
It was a second deep.
His home run is in his career.
That ball is just It's just let it go The bad flip.
I'm giving a 10.
Notice the bad flip.
It was a clean backflip from Jock Pop.
So second, when it was 4 50 off the bat over 4 50 off the bat, ah, 110 mile per hours screamer from John Peterson, he got all of it, just like Cody Bellenger got all of it a couple weeks back when we had the walk off against Lopez.
So hey, this home run the long ball is kind of how they've been beating the Dodgers.
How they've been being the Diamondbacks in these late games.
We have a walk, walk walk game against McFarland early in the year, but here we go, guys.
So who's your play of the game? Where you guys going? Really has to be John Peterson, right? Has to be John Peterson.
You go with you, go with the bullpen as a whole.
How about that? We have the bullpen as a unit.
You go with Cody Bellenger Job wouldn't have an opportunity unless Ballenger came back.
Bellenger hadn't homered and almost 13 games.
Cody Bellinger hadn't homered in almost 13 games and hey, need that one.
He needed that to get right.
I'm telling Cody Bellinger has toe put a bow on this season.
He asked to finish strong.
If he wants to win that EVP.
I think it's he's still, I think it's still well within his grasp.
I still think he's in pull position and having that that league leading 43 home runs time might.
Mike Trout is definitely big time for Cody Bellinger.
So that's definitely definitely something very, very important.
And And he got that.
He got all that one, too.
That was that was just pretty.
Anytime Cody Bellenger unloads on one, you gotta love it.
But Cody Bellinger, um, but whether it was going to get it back to you back to your comments and we fixed this, uh, so you guys got let me know in the comments.
What you guys doing for Labor Day weekend, though, Guys, how about that? What you guys doing? You guys popping bottles, barbecuing? Daughters did work on Labor Day.
Ted Wallet did it for May.
Hey, I love that tough cookie out there.
Dustin May Roose.
He wanted come back in a week.
That doesn't mean I know you want to finish that inning.
I saw that, um, Roose Ma.
Good job, Dodgers Schmo.
Why they always gotta go in these funks I would disagree with that would disagree with that.
As far as going in tow funks, this Dodger team has remained consistent.
We'll see what's up now.
That was in the end of August.
I mean, that was August into September when the Dodgers had their issues with the with the losing streak in 2017.
I don't think this Dodger team can afford that one.
They'll lose home field advantage, possibly in the NL.
If you have a slide that's reminiscent of the one we saw in 2017 and also this team, they just need to get their groove back.
They need to off offensively, start to start to get back at it.
We don't know what's going on with Max Muncy.
Um, but here we go over Del Jock is a feast or famine home run or strike out.
That's that's what I've said and we're on the same page there.
I've been saying I mean, we've I mean, it's obvious job John Peterson, and that's why that's why he's enticing.
That's the intrigue with John Peterson, because in a game like this, he can turn on one and he can get it and he can put it into the pool.
Hey, can end a game and he can go for 50 on you, and that's why he's valuable.
That's why you keep him.
You study the matchups, you platoon him when necessary.
But as far as as a leadoff hitter, as far as a guy that's gonna hit for average, he just doesn't have the requisite like an approach to toe master.
That so John Peterson.
If you look at him like I said, go read.
Ah, Marshal Garvey's piece, Um, and a lot of everyone's talk about that world. Siris 2017.
Yes, he hit 3 33 Yes, he hit home runs.
Five R B I's This Guy Had a world Siris for a lifetime also was left off a ah off the playoff roster for one of those series.
So that just tells you right there, he could be very inconsistent at times, and last year he had 83 083 So last year he struggled.
And look, if you put him in a couple at bats and, ah, a couple of start give a couple starts in the postseason and he catches fire, then so be it.
But he's not a guy that you're gonna ride with, especially when you got guys like Alex Verdugo, who hits for contact.
Better know Alex for duty as a rookie, is already one of the best hitters on this team. He really is.
He is a as far as hitting for contact, and to me, he's the one of the big time missing puzzles of this team and one of the reasons why this team offensively gets in the to these little ****s.
As you saw tonight, it was home runs.
It was home runs by by Russell Martin.
It was it was ah, it was home runs all night long as far as getting numbers on the board.
But Alex of Verdugo, he's my little more dynamic.
He's a guy that, Ah, he's a guy that is gonna hit for content, for average hitting into 97.
He's also has one of the best contact rates.
And I think he's, you know, I really look forward to seeing Alex for Diego.
When he comes back, sooner, the better.
He's gonna be back in short time here.
Look, by the way.
So his numbers this year.
Two nights slashing 2 94 3 42 and 4 75 12 home runs, 44 or be eyes and then 14 big defensive runs.
One of the plays that comes to mind with Alice Verdugo is when he saved UH, he saved Kenley Jansen against the Cubs.
They had a 30% catch probability, and that one also had a walk up against the Rockies.
Also had to me my most most memorable walk offs of the year.
We came back on Edwin Diaz when his sac fly, so he's a guy that's gonna put together a competitive at bat every single time he goes up there.
And, um, I'm with you.
Really? The focus should be on Alex Verdugo at the top of the lineup as compared to jog Peterson Schmo are we got villas? Dodgers? Jean Joan Verdu.
Ah, Vernell knew some jock is Feaster famine.
Michael need a closer? Exactly.
Look, he said it.
Ah, um, Joe Davis said, Look, having without a team having a closer.
So I have a great house built on a poor foundation, and to me, the contingency plan for the Dodgers is visible.
It was visible today with Joe Kelly.
Joe Kelly is a guy that, Ah, he's a guy that you want to see out there in in in pressure situations.
So, yeah, he and he was He was great.
Today was great today, Joseph William Kelly Jr and give give him all the credit.
The world. I think that's an option.
I think that if you want to see the Dodgers mess around putting some starters in there and don't forget Julio Urias, don't forget Julio Arias is still on his way back.
But yeah, I mean, I'm with you, Kenley Jansen.
There's no way in hell that this guy can can be a be a trusted closer on a night in and night out basis in the postseason, every appearance is gonna be touch and go.
In my opinion, he has to earn it pitch by pitch inning by inning today.
It was a great start, like the real FRG said.
He needed a clean inning, and unfortunately, he just can't keep guys off bay off base, Whether it's a of whether it's a walk, whether it's getting guy giving up home runs yesterday, he's out there, gets a home run on 81 mile per hour.
But the numbers back it up.
Since August 1st, he's allowed three home runs, five earned runs, 11 hits and nine innings of work, and he's in in July are a 563 Then August array just at five.
And then he went to provide in save opportunities and that it could have been worse if it wasn't for Max Muncy convincing him to ah, Thio to call time.
That would have been a blown save that day.
Give him credit, he was nails and he came through hit 96 on the gun.
But that really, technically, should have been a, uh blown save.
So to me, if you look to it, just look at the numbers.
I mean, all the numbers back it up since the break there, hitting one before the break.
They were hitting 1 97 against Kenley.
The hitters are hitting 2 74 So they're going to 74 compared to 1 97 July 55 e r a.
August So and then also 2017 um, 2017.
When when he was at his best.
His roadie are a That was 8/10 of a run this year.
His roadie array of 548 So I don't know what more you know more.
How much evidence this front office needs to know that Kenley Jansen, the best case scenario like I said, is yes, he's yes, in peak physical condition, where he's fired on cylinders as far as health, how as far as health goes.
And then he has rest.
He has clean innings and then as ah, but they're not gonna throw him out there.
There's no chance.
I mean, look, look with the Astros did with Ken Giles.
Look what the Red Sox with Kimbrel.
I think the Dodger fans that are so worried that Kenley is gonna ruin it in October.
And, yes, one blown save could be the difference.
And 2017 tomorrow when Gonzalez home run changed, the Siri's Dodgers win that thing up to oh, they probably with Serious.
I understand that.
But I think by the time the world Siris rolls around this year, the daughters will have enough of a sample size on Kenley Jansen in those first couple rounds to know if he should be trusted and those high leverage, world Siris type situation.
So But I'm with you, though. I mean Kenley Jansen.
I haven't had a good night's rest because it Kenley in probably six months, are a ceased two months.
Ah, Pat Jock's home run was last spotted over the Grand Canyon of that pat.
I love that Ryan and freezes Amazing.
David Freese is incredible.
David freeze is I forgot Who said it, I think was Tim Rogers from Dodgers Nation.
He said that David freezes what Chase Utley was supposed to be.
Ah, locker room presence that also produced on the field a guy that can get you clutch home runs.
And he missed 34 games since July 26 comes in.
You know he was itching to get out.
There he goes long.
David Freeze goes back.
And like I said, it's feeding that.
His last name is Freeze because he's ice in the postseason as evidence with what he did in the World Series against the Royals.
So David freeze.
A guy that we're gonna hear from David Freezes when the World Series comes comes rolling around when postseason comes rolling around.
He's this year, he's hitting 300 with runners in scoring position.
Gets off the Shanghai with a Jack as long as we keep him healthy.
He deals with that tendonitis.
He had 10 knives in his knees.
The daughters have the depth to put him in spots to succeed.
Also, him as a pinch hitter.
Even in games that he doesn't start, we're gonna hear from David. Freeze.
So you may be a bit I love that Ryan freezes Amazing police.
Finally frees the man.
Ah, Brian May is such Ah Mei is such great stuff.
I see him are starting rotation next year.
So glad we came back and didn't get swept by the snakes.
Me, too. I'm glad that that didn't happen.
Michael Glick freezes clutch Justin Dodgers Will will win the West next weekend.
That's your prediction from Justin.
Laura Miguel 717 Lancaster P A Go Dodgers SD Dodgers 858 on my couch.
What up, Tim Rogers.
I know your Chargers fan.
How you feel about Melvin Gordon on, um What Jersey Rock in today S D Dodger.
I love your rebates.
He was the man was at the at the Padres game in whatever the opposite of nosebleeds are.
That's where Tim Rogers was sitting during that one, Uh, Melissa from the 956 to 1 Mario, that was the last Siri's you'll lose this season.
Fire on all cylinders from here through our World Series championship.
Let's go, Dodgers.
I'm loving that Mario last Siri's.
We lose this season.
So I think, uh, I think that I think that's I think that's definitely definitely possible that if you look at the Dodgers this year, they ah ah, yeah, you know, they have the Rockies got the you know they got the Orioles.
They got They had the Giants so I think you're right.
I think you could be right on the money with that.
Back to you guys.
My comes. He's going all crazy on this one.
How far did Peterson's home run go? I think was 4 50 Michelle Jansen has lost it.
Mario, that was the last. Oh, Steve.
661 for the Bakersfield. Pat.
Good to see the team trying, but it's way on base.
You like that? I think we're just in Turner's swinging the bat.
I kind of want to see him, especially considering 10 home runs in the month of August.
And if you look at him nine for 23 on the road trip coming into tonight, hitting 3 30 in August, I kind of want to see him swing in there.
Also, he doesn't have the the wheels to get on.
We have to be laid so perfectly.
I don't really love that, but Doug from Denver.
Thank you, baby.
Jesus must need a win. Win up. Doug Slater.
Um, we got surely we got go blue from Illinois is Brian Freeze out number one pitch in the playoffs.
Ryan, we got David.
I saw that homer from Jock in Southern Utah.
Where is this home run ball? Jack? Hi Neumann.
Go out and conquer all Brian Meet neither.
Long Beach in the House bleeds blue from Pat. Steve.
We need a home home field advantage.
A tie for first won't cut it, Charles.
I hope it's next Saturday.
I have Dugout Club sees Charles Hammell.
I love that you got dugout seats for next Saturday.
Hit me up if wherever you're going with gets sick or flakes on you, Amen.
I'll meet you at the game.
Home run was last spot over the Grand Canyon Sable Twinsfirst.
Dodgers World Siris.
2019 Daughters will win.
That'd be pretty awesome.
The Dodgers could replicate that world Siris like in 65 when with Sandy Koufax and they went off on those Twins, I'd be called that.
I think I just want to win the World Series.
All these people caught up revenge against the Astros Dodgers, Yankees redemption.
I don't care who we face.
I just want another shot at that commissioners trophy.
But this time I want to raise your overheads and just in a champagne party after that one.
So Pat Jansen actually pitched a cleaning.
Can't remember the last time we saw it.
Hashtag pray for me. He did.
He had a cleaning out there and it was a 123 The cutter had nice break on it.
Give Kenley Jansen credit for Give Kelly Jansen credit for eye.
In the past, I always had issues with how he handled his struggles.
I think he's very aware of how Dodgers Nation feels about him, and he knows that it's not gonna be given to him in the postseason.
He understands that.
Hey, if he wants to meet you saw the picture of him right when he blew that when he blew it against the Padres and he gave the home run during the week.
You saw what happened when he ah, when he gave up when, ah, when he gave that Jack and the doctors start having success again, he was out there in the in the dugout, just agonizing, and he understands that Hey, it's one thing to be on a great team, but you wanna be a part in a reason why that team's having great success.
So pray for May.
Sean Shepherd's stripping the great Jack Ramirez Pat bullpen as the whole did really well today.
Randy Solomon has the hitting coach ever played in professional baseball? I don't think he made it to the bigs.
Of course not. He's only like 32.
Um, I think I forgot the ****hest he went for, uh, for Robert Vance Koya.
But it wasn't a very, you know, wasn't a big time major league hitter, but and we go Eddie from the 809 to 3 steam unos.
I hate that they won by the long ball.
I need to get the winds by just getting contact and good pitching the Dodgers, 14 and eight without hitting a home run.
So So they, um so that's definitely something that that makes a big difference.
But, hey, a win's a win and this team.
That's the nature of major league baseball in 2019.
If you're not hitting home runs, you're not winning a lot of games.
And if you look at the top teams of the El Astros Twins, Yankees, Twins, Yankees, they were the only two teams that have hit more home runs of the Dodgers in the A National League.
So everyone's hitting long balls. If you're not hitting home runs.
If you're not getting hitting, hitting Jax is probably good chance that you're not ahead of the standing.
So I'd rather have it that way and the other way around cause the ability to hit home runs wins games like today, and it wins games in the postseason when guys were locked in.
So so here we go.
Um, that, uh all right.
Ah, we got Ramon needed the win.
Cody Bellinger and Jock coming through.
Rand Randall Belly bomb 43 Jack belly of belly off a left hander.
Yeah, that was good.
Cody Bellenger, Makoni Bellenger Splits are pretty consistent heading into today.
It's kind of like it looks like a bell injures Cody Bellinger.
I mean, it was just a great shot.
Like I said, he had hit a home run and 13 games and and he really need that when he really needed to get that Jack and one just for himself, for the daughters have success.
But then also, if you look at his career versus Arizona to is hitting to 97 against Arizona, now 13 home runs and 100 72 at bats.
So he's a guy, you know.
He's from Arizona, you know? He wants to put on a good show.
And ah, and he let that one fly, man, he that want to give that a nice ride today with Cody Bellenger? But if you look at him, let against lefties.
Hitting 2 80 with 15 home runs against righties hitting 3 24 27 home runs.
So now that 16 home runs off of lefties is here, I want to look that up for I forgot about it.
Pat update Jocks Home run is.
And by the way, Pat, you're killing me.
You come just dead with all of ah, with all of pat's things.
But update, jog.
Someone's now crossing state lines from Arizona and New Mexico.
All right, Leo Gomez.
Uh, Lily Gomez stripling and freeze! Look good.
Go Dodgers. Frank, Home is OK.
That was Ah, wicked hit to the to the head.
It was It was and unfortunately, he had to leave the game, but he walked off under his own power.
And, um, and Dustin May.
He's still waiting for that for that inning, where he comes out in relief and he shows the dodgy shows this team that he could be depended upon to get guys out.
We'll see if they put him in situations where he's going to be forced to strand runners because to be an elite reliever, you've got to put in situations where guys are on second and third base and you're coming in.
Let me look what I have with Madison last year, right? The daughters are gonna have toe.
You know, Dustin May can't rely on getting it cleaning every single time, but the command was little off.
He was high on so many of, Ah, a lot of lot of times of this cutter tonight, but I still believe in Dustin May.
98 mile per hour sinkers are few and far between.
The kind of stuff he has is elite, and Joe Kelly has shown up shown us this year.
He's proved to us this year when you have a lead stuff with that kind of velocity and that kind of spin rate, it's only a matter of time until you harness it and you start seeing paying off.
So I'm Hopefully.
This wasn't a major setback for Dust in May, because I want to see him back in there and Jake Lamb and what's his problem? And I mean seriously, bro.
No, it's playing, but he get better dust May I saw.
And I think they Ah, he seems all right. He seems all right.
So he's a tough kid.
Frank Johnson Home is OK.
That was wicked. Sean.
Hopefully, they are out of it soon.
If nothing else. Good timing.
Once the team gets healthy and they don't have to start bench players, they will turn it around, too. Great points.
You're not going to see guys like Jerko out there you're going to see.
And by the way, jerko defensively, um, made some great plays.
Joseph Maiga's any? Are we auditioning alternative closers I mentioned earlier.
Look, the Dodgers, I think this this organization is too well run from top to bottom to not have a contingency plan in the event that Kenley Jansen blows saves and your options.
Really, I think that Ah, it's when you look at it to the daughters were getting even.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised He came to my aid out there.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Julio Oreos out there.
Joe Kelly, to me, is right at the top of the list.
And then also look what happened with Morton and McCullers that in the Astros, the Dodger and there's we've seen in the past that you can puts starters in there because it's all hands on deck in the postseason.
But I think that the Dodgers, I think they want to get Kenley as I think they want to get him as as as get him as good as he possibly get.
I think they want to see if they could get.
Can we get Jansen to be a serviceable Kenley Jansen.
To be a guy that said, Hey, we could throw you out there and we can because, look, I don't think that this whole notion that oh, he's a great locker room guy, that Kenley Jansen it would disrupt the chemistry of the locker room.
These guys aren't in the business of trying toe.
Keep guys feeling good to not hurt guys feelings.
These guys were in the business of trying toe end a 31 year world Siris drought.
So Kenley Jansen, you gotta find a role on this team if it means coming out there in the eighth inning and flip flopping Kenley Jansen and Kenley Jansen and Ah and Joe Kelly.
Then you do it if it means the one page Oh buys out there.
All Pedro Baez does is game or more confidence with Dodgers Nation with an outing like he did today.
Because, look, at the end of the day, it comes down to How great is your stuff.
And Kenley Jansen, his cutter, just doesn't have the same break on as it did.
And the velocity has dipped to, you know, just over 90 close to 91 miles per hour.
So Kenley Jansen, he gets right.
But the Dodgers have to move fast in the event that, ah, that they don't have what it takes.
But look, the daughters are gonna have dead Ross Stripling tonight.
Show me something, and when Ross Stripling is a guy, you could maybe put that 5th 6th 7th inning role and then you bump guys like Like aureus and Pedro Baez and Joe Kelly up and then depending on who's hot, you ride the hot hand.
But Kenley Jansen better not lose us a world Siris or a postseason.
I mean that for him, for Dodgers Nation, for all of us.
Because if that's the case, that we're gonna be regretting this for a long, long time and it's gonna date all the way back to when we didn't add an elite arm in the in the trade deadline.
So it's ah, you know, we could talk about this all day, every day.
Bottom line is we're gonna have to be losing Hair's gray hairs were gonna be We're gonna be going through some serious serious issues.
Uh, heart's gonna be beating fast every time that can lease on the mound.
But I'm rooting for you, Kenley.
I'm rooting for you can only hope it.
Ah, I hope that he can return to form.
I was in tears after May got hit.
I was and wasn't moving, hoping he's okay from Pat.
He looks to be fine.
He looks like it's nothing serious.
Ray Barsamian Just checking in.
Doug would've Ray. Awesome show is usual.
Dodgers get a huge win in the series finale.
We went back to back.
Ah, what we do best.
We went. We went back to what we doing best.
Going yard hitting the ball out.
Four solo shots today, dude.
Even the baby would have been impressed with that awesome power display we put on today's sweet victory.
Great point, Ray, and I think a point that you kind of raises hay.
All these Dodger fans.
Yes, we want to.
We want to be more dynamic.
Yes, we wanna bunk guys across.
Play more of a nationally style of baseball you saw on Tuesday night.
The Dodgers did that Tuesday night.
They're bunting guys over, and they won with a different style of play.
But, hey, at the end of the day, you gotta do what you do best.
And, like Ray points out, this team knows how to go yard, and they know how to do it in clutch spot.
So it's definitely a great problem to have Brian hoping.
Look starts at to be tomorrow or shortstop.
That be very exciting.
I think that'd be a great backstage Dodgers.
I think that'd be Tuesday night.
We'll be right back at it.
We're gonna break it all down.
So I'm totally with that.
Um, Rafael daughter stated me.
Jack Ramirez Love hearing.
Let's go Dodgers away from Dodger Stadium.
Samuel Pat our four loss of this week.
We're on accident.
This won't happen again.
I love that sound like a like a parent.
This won't happen again.
Um, I I think that I think that any team goes through these stretches.
I think that it was inevitable for this team to have a dip because of how great this team has been all season long.
But a September call ups are happening.
This team's gonna add debt, especially in the pitching in the bullpen.
They, um But here we go.
Bullpen was great low.
Gomez bullpen heads down.
I don't think there's such thing is not a good win.
Every win is a great win, especially in Major league baseball, where it's easy to lose.
Yeah, the bullpen is today's play.
The game, along with both Cody and Jock Charles.
I'm waiting to see who's on the postseason roster.
I hope BD gets a spot everyone wants.
Looks hopeful, however, looks, has defensive issues, so I don't want to see him playing.
He does have is he does have.
Ah, he does have his defensive issues.
Matt, Baby, I wouldn't call on elite defender, too, so but Matt Bays, you guys been up here all year.
If you look at Matt Baby last 30 30 games, he's hitting about 2 84 21 hits, three home runs.
So Matt be's A guy hits the ball, hard barrels, a lot of stuff, and he gives you great at bats to whoever gets left off.
It's gonna be, you know, you don't like to see it cause you really bond with these guys.
Matt Bai is a friend of the show from the Dodgers nation.
Ah, but, ah, like I said, baseball's a meritocracy.
You ride the hot hand and you put guys in spots that they can produce.
So it remains to be seen, but I still think he has a chance.
I mean, September call ups.
You're gonna probably see guys like, you know, could potentially see Edwin Reas o r a Kyle Garlic.
And we've forgot all about him.
But Tina G man late to the party but always rocking with us.
How you doing today, Tina? Hello, Tracy.
Just happy it wasn't a sweep.
Delores Roberts Pat matching update Jock's Home run It isn't now leaving New Mexico into Texas.
May land just to have some good barbecue.
Pat, don't stop. Keep romance.
Pat's got the GPS on the ball.
Ah, we are where all the jock haters at.
Where are the jock haters at from Ragin are ragged.
Are Dane Hey, John Peterson.
I think that with John Peterson, at this point, we've seen him year in a year out. He is what he is.
I don't I wouldn't say that.
It's we're hating on Jock Peterson.
I just think the proof is in the pudding.
We understand that kind of player he is. He's streaky.
He can connect with one like today.
Or you can go on the slide.
If you look at John Peterson.
Last seven games, though, he's hitting 3 33 6 hits and two home runs.
So the thing with John Peterson is, even when he's not hitting for average, he's still a threat to go deep, and he's usually still slugging.
So that's a good thing.
Last 15 for jockeying to 05 last 30 hitting 2 35 So his average right, really around, you know, to 20 to 25.
And that's what you can expect from Jock Peterson.
You'd expect him to have issues against against lefties.
It works. It works.
His contact is, you know, his hitting ability is pretty much non existent.
So that's the thing with him is he's limited and it's very situational and depends on the matchups.
But, ah, back to you guys.
What up? What up, Brian? I want baby on the postseason roster as well.
A seeker months and baby all their defensive issues.
They all can hit, though.
If luck hits 65% I think that's a long shot.
I mean, I mean, I mean, if Gavin Lux comes up here and he does, he takes the world by storm.
He's like gangbusters, like Will Smith was.
Maybe he does that.
Maybe he does what Corey Seager did a couple of years ago, so you never you never know.
It's just the great thing is we do have this audition going in September and then before we know it where it is.
So, look, what what secret it to Rollins.
So ah, Schmo looks rakes. Jansen.
We trust by junior.
Ah, we got Hamilton.
Oh, looks Let's see how we can live to the hype tomorrow.
He was untouchable in trades.
So if he screws up that I'm pointing you responsible Freeman.
He's just another over type and overrated prospect. A.
My response to that was Will Smith.
Overrated was Cory Singer Cody Bellinger was.
It was Walker Bueller.
Overrated prospects that the Dodgers kept off limits.
They put them on the Untouchables list, and they're the key parts, and they're the key ingredients off this Dodger team.
So I think the Dodgers have been very selective and in all these, all these got all these great players, these elite prospects, and it's paid dividends so well at Gavin looks.
Hamilton brings up a good point, though.
If Lux comes in and he's a underwhelming if he doesn't live up to the hyper or fees or fee, if they give him a lot of opportunities and the Dodgers go on to tank in the world Siris because of Kenley Jansen, we might look back and say, Hey, we could have had Philippe a Vasquez for Gavin looks and you mortgage your future.
You mortgage a top prospect for a World Series.
So that's a really long debate.
In a conversation, we can have two.
So ah, Anthony, need this one.
Hope May is right.
Ah, take much more oily My heart can't take much more with J T.
Daniel's missing the rest of the season for USC.
Auntie, I saw that I watched that game.
That was heartbreaking for SC fans.
Hey, man, I'm a u c l A guy.
Ah, go Bruins all day, every day eight clap.
But hey, I don't like to see anyone get injured, and J. T.
Daniels is a phenomenal player. We'll see.
Then get Jack Sears to stay, though, because Jax tears was in the transfer portal. Maybe.
Ah, Clay Helton is on his hands and knees, begging him to stay at USC.
But a USC will be fine.
Always tons of talent there. Austin.
They did say months.
He should miss one or two weeks.
Charles Hammell, Brian Bennett.
I think there are going to do more of apprenticeship to think with him like they did with Smith last year.
Look, he comes in, he observes.
But I do think that I think he's gonna get his opportunity.
I think that they're gonna throw him in there and give him some at bats and see if they can catch that lightning in a bottle.
Yeah, Jerko did great defensively.
I'd have more the postseason roster just for defense. David.
Was it going to take with Kenley is a great guy, but he ain't got it anymore.
Um, Ryan Ray or we got to Nancy Davis.
A great great team win.
We got Ray Bar Simeon daughters on a cleansing course to meet.
The Astros won big difference between the Dodgers and the Astros, as opposed to the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros, right number one and two in all major league pitching categories.
That's a great point.
The Dodger with the Dodger pitching, though, in August, a little bit of a slide.
They went 11 and eight in the month of August with the 348 e r A.
But this year they have been the bell count.
I mean, this Dodger pitching staff, 54 in 29 on the year 792 innings pitched.
So they've carried this team and you just put.
But reuse had his struggles of late.
We have to get real you, right? Clayton Kershaw is still giving up bombs, and Walker Bueller, to me is the saving grace.
He still still looks like he's pitching his best baseball.
But we get those guys back to me.
I want to see 100.
You get some time off.
I think he needs at least a couple weeks off.
I think he needs to miss.
Ah, couple of starts.
Tony Gonsouland has shown that he's really, really some guy.
He's really proven to be a major league level starting pitcher, and I think Tony Johnson really is a bright spot that we don't talk enough about.
The cat man has shown he's got a lead stuff that splitter the velocity to control the command.
I love Tony Gonsouland, the Frank Zappa clone.
We've got something in him.
Ah, Suzy, go Dodger Blue. Tina, Gina.
Why does Roberts take out the guys when they're doing well? I think that, um, I think the Dave Roberts, I think that the game plan, it's obvious right now that it's about getting guys rest right now and just kind of mixing with the lineup.
I don't think that I think there's a lot of guys that look, you don't hear about every injury.
But they don't call the dog days of summer for nothing.
And Dave Roberts, a former major leaguer himself.
He knows he's gotta play with things, play things around.
But look A J. Pollock A J.
Pollock hitting leadoff today.
He gets a single, a double and a J. Pollock.
He's hitting 3 28 with runners in scoring position.
He's got a hit and 12 of his last 18 games, hitting 2 98 And since he's been reinstated on July 12 he's hitting 2 95 with eight home runs and a double so 3 19 in August 3 home runs.
Pollock is a guy who's been playing in certain spots that they've had success with So David and have a zoo for the weekend.
But still watching the Blue Crew.
I love it, David Charles.
Um um, hello, that sort of me.
But Tina Demon, the guys you to stay healthy, take care of Joe Marquez, A way to pull it out Dodgers Ray Barsamian.
The only team they can be.
The Astros are the Dodgers and will time. Yeah.
Um, I think you will see Kelly more. That's what I was saying.
I think that Ah, Joe Kelly, he's earned.
Our trust is built mo mentum every appearance, eh, Jackson? Great game, Tina.
I missed the game today, Ray.
Bar scene and hopefully Verdugo.
We back up soon.
He's our emotional sport club.
Haven't heard any updates, though.
Ah, Alex Verdugo.
Yeah, he's gonna He's gonna start a game with the Ogden Raptors, and they're gonna work him back in.
So sometime next week to see Alex for Do Go back in.
Dodger Blue, back at the ravine.
David Penna, Salem, Oregon Teama.
Um, you're not the only one who feels that way.
Ah, Charles Hammell.
That's why I never looked at the Yankee Series as a potential Wilson.
And I think the Astros will be there before them. I think so, too.
I think that the Houston Astros are the Dodgers biggest toughest competition.
Ah, Ray, playoffs should be awesome.
I'm hoping to go to the game on October 12.
But ah yeah, guys, great win today, Logan Jones.
What what's news for for Do go when we'll be back.
So sometime next week, Alex for Do Go should be back.
And, ah, he's gonna play with the Ogden Raptors, so he'll come back.
He's gonna rejoin the club and gave the numbers on Alex for Do go.
Like I said, aside from all the Christmas we want to hear that Volver Volver he brings a spark to this lineup, but he produces, So that's the most important reason why we need him back because of the Dodgers slump.
That's he's a guy that has the tools to offset their inability to put the ball in play, their inability to clutch hits.
But we got Charles.
I don't boo players this whole thing with Kenley, But come October, you will get vintage Kenley.
I feel bad for him.
He's given us a lot of very good years.
He's definitely has.
I don't I don't think that Kenley Jansen is a guy that ah, I think Kenley Jansen at his best.
He's shown he still has a lead stuff that could miss bats, and when he's pitching his best baseball then Kenley Jansen is a guy that I can trust out there, but you saw his splits on back to back performances.
You saw that batting average against goes way up, and then it's about a bit about his confidence.
Can Kenley get that mystique back that we saw in 2017? But even 2017 Kenley Drew gave up that had a blown save tomorrow when Gonzalez even last year, the Jackie Bradley junior home run.
So Kenley Jansen even in tough spots in the postseason, he's given up key home runs that have hurt the Dodgers chances of winning it.
Also, I think you just keep a close eye on him.
You wish you hope that he be.
He regains that elite status, But the numbers are showing that Kenley Jansen, I mean, a career high and e. R. A.
Is not the picture that he was in 2017.
Can he regain it? It's definitely possible and I think all Dodger fans, I think Dodger fans want, can lead to be dominant and would love to see nothing more than Kenley Jansen closing out for the Dodgers and the world Siris.
But the daughters are better equipped to deal with a potential Kenley.
If you can't live up to t being the closer, the daughters are better equipped this year than they were last year, so Ah, but here we go, guys.
Looks like at the 103 Mark.
Thanks for rocking with us as always.
Thanks for joining us here on the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
Um, we got, um, Hamilton All Boot Jansen.
Anyway, what of Hamilton we got Randall.
Any word on Rachel Rich Hill? He's still working his way back, and he's but he's not back yet.
But Rich Hill is a guy he threw.
Ah, 75 pitches are heated. Long toss.
So he's a guy that ah ah set up for another bullpen tomorrow.
They're gonna throw him in the bullpen tomorrow, and he's still he's still recovering from that.
That that flex, sir.
And he's a guy home.
Very high to six postseason Ira.
I want to see him come, come back fully recovered and be the dodgersfour starter.
If they're gonna roll with that in the post season.
So he's gonna throw a bullpen tomorrow and you'll probably see him.
You'll probably see him in.
Ah, probably middle toe toe. Late September.
So? So he's a guy that Ah, that we still want to see back.
You're probably see Verdugo back before him.
And then Ah, and then Rich, he'll look for him there in the bullpen tomorrow.
But But you guys have a great great rest Your Labor Day weekend.
