Hello, everybody, and welcome into the broadcast.
I am Samuel Rea is coming to you live here on SportsCastr.
It is the Western Conference semi finals of the 2020 MLS Cup playoffs, and it is surprise surprise the Seattle Sounders, who are all too familiar with being in the playoffs at this stage, taking on the RATHER FC Dallas from the newly named Blumenfield out West in the Pacific Northwest or just about set for kick off.
This should be a fun one, folks, obviously, Seattle are the favorites.
If they haven't already formed a dynasty, they surely would make it a dynasty if they were to win MLS Cup this year.
That's what Seattle obviously have their eyes set on.
But Dallas trying this play spoiler.
They already played that role against the Portland Timbers in the opening round of the playoffs.
Can they play that role again tonight? It's single elimination.
A one off affair winner go home a spot in the Western Conference final.
It's Seattle in their green kits, going from right to left and kicking off in this first half.
Meanwhile, in their red kids going from left to right in this opening half of play.
It's a 6 25 sorry 6 55 local time kick off in Seattle on this Tuesday night and the stage is set.
We're ready to go.
The Sounders kick it off and we are underway from Blumenfield in Seattle.
Washington They're officially is the opening whistle of play.
It's the two seed Seattle in the sixth seed Dallas at Lumen Field and three of the previous four postseason meetings between these two teams.
That was Seattle who beat Dallas.
Thanks von, for tuning in, as Dallas will possess here, taking away possession in the first couple of seconds on the near side here is Brian Reynolds Reynolds, now back for Matt Hedges, a couple of young players in the starting lineup for Dallas, obviously, FC Dallas with one of the best academies in the country.
Seattle, meanwhile, with a lot of veteran presence who know what it's like to make it, uh, deep into the playoffs and win MLS Cups.
Who for the Sounders New? Who lays it wide for Shane O'Neill.
Let's get to the starting on his 1st 1st Seattle, it's Stephan Fry in goal.
The back line consisting of Knew Who? Shane O'Neill, Um, are Gomez, along with Alex rolled on the two holding Mids.
Giampaolo and Christian rolled on the rest of the midfield, made up by Jordan Morris, Nico Lodeiro and job in Jones in an up top.
It's the familiar name of Raul Ruiz Diaz.
Meanwhile, for the visitors.
FC Dallas, it's Jimmy Mara in gold. The back line.
John Nelson methods breasts on Matt Hedges and Brian Reynolds.
Meanwhile, in the midfield it is Thiago Santos and Andres Ricardo, the holding mids.
Rest of the midfield rate up of Ryan hauling shed 10 or Test Hman and Fabrice PICO and then up top.
It's the veteran Frank O Hara.
Let's not talk about Real Madrid, von.
I'd rather not Thank you, Mike, for joining the Stream.
FC Dallas. Maybe with a chance here.
New whose header, though, cut out the possible opportunity as Ricart was trying to find a teammate.
Now it's all the way wide with Jordan Morris on the near side.
Nice pass, thereby Morris, as he finds rolled on, rolled on wide for new who back into the middle with Ruidiaz ball forward for job in Jones, Jones cuts it onto his left foot and now towards the middle.
That ball ahead of the way by Tiago Santos.
But Seattle, not done on this possible attacking opportunity, rolled on, plays it to his brother, Christian, and it was laid back for a good chance.
But sending it over the bar was knew who and perhaps it was hauling.
Shed, who threw off, knew who a bit on that strike.
Christian and Alex rolled on, linking up there the brothers, and knew who the left back got all the way up with the opportunity for the Sounders.
Seattle With a good start to this game, the winner will play either Minnesota or sporting Kansas City in the Western Conference final, which will be Monday originally scheduled for Sunday.
But the Minnesota Kansas City game got moved from tomorrow to Thursday.
That's why they moved the Western Conference final a day as well, guaranteeing that winner of Minnesota Kansas City at least three days, three days of rest.
They wanted the winner of that game to have at least three days rest.
You laugh so hard today.
Yeah, I know, Von.
I'm glad you had a good day Sounders in possession.
5 minutes played from Seattle.
Still no score, but we've We're just getting started.
This is a long ball played forward.
Win it back and that's out for a Sounders throwing.
Yeah, M****ille did win the Champions League game. Finally.
Yeah, and come back.
Fashion against Olympiacos.
Luchi Gonzalez is in a second season as manager of FC Dallas.
Dallas have had quite the season where they had Thio.
Drop out of the MLS is back tournament due to a Kobe 19 outbreak within the team.
Got in the into the playoffs is a six seed upset Portland in the first round, winning that in penalty kicks.
And now here they are facing Seattle.
Inter got a bit lucky to win that game.
They nearly choked that lead.
Here is Matt Hedges.
Hedges under a bit of pressure.
Couldn't connect with Reynolds.
Now the throwing will be taken by new Who? Yeah, I know Marco Rosa, the coach of uh, Munchengladbach.
Yeah. He was not happy after the game.
Ah, he was one angry man afterwards.
Yeah, I saw that Darrow able to play it wide.
Here is Alex rolled on.
Rather was Christian rolled on.
You gave it away.
Undress rock art with the steal.
5 minutes in both teams feeling each other out.
Seattle have had more of the possession is it will be a Dallas throwing Thank you, Steph, for joining the broadcast.
Brian Schmidt, sir to time, MLS Cup winner in 2016 and last year in 2019, managing the Seattle Sounders and the Sounders well aware that they're the favorites, especially considering how often they've been in MLS Cup as of late.
Does that pass is a poor one out of bounds? Foreign FC Dallas throwing Brian Schmitz Air Taking some notes based on his observations early on, and here is Frank O Hara for Dallas.
Into the box That ball played centrally was cut out by O Neill.
Not done, though.
This delivery by rock art takes cleared out of the box. Second opportunity.
The Testament couldn't hit it cleanly off the volley, and it's a goal kick for the Sounders Testament.
A rookie for Dallas just 19 years of age, he didn't start against Portland but got the nod from head coach Luchi Gonzalez to start tonight.
He doesn't look like a 19 year old, that's for sure.
He plays with a lot of confidence.
Hedges now Santo swole play it back for brace on.
Given away in the midfield, it was Juan Paolo who won the header for the Sounders.
Making the run finds Nico Lodeiro.
Lodeiro keeps possession now wide with rolled on again.
Jovan Jones fouled and it sets up a free kick for the Sounders.
Ricart committing the foul, and it sets up a good opportunity here for Seattle job in Jones.
Spend with Seattle for quite a while now.
I don't know exactly how many years, but he's been a part of this team for a decent amount of time now, as I mentioned a lot of experienced players on the Sanders team who have won MLS Cup on set pieces this season, including the playoffs.
Seattle About nine goals scored and Dallas three goals conceded.
So if this is the opportunity for Seattle capitalized, let's see if they can is Cristian Roldan cuts it back.
The shot struck off a Dallas defender and the referee waving away the claims for a handball does that fell nicely.
It's a great cut back by rolled on, and it was actually my apologies.
It was Gomez with the chance, the center back for Seattle.
And, yeah, it looked like it came off the back of the Dallas defender.
Yeah, Marco Rosa was taking it to the refs.
No doubt about it.
Thank you for the tip stuff.
So a chance there for Dallas past the 10 minute mark Nell Nell from Blumenfield, between the Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas live here on SportsCastr.
This throne will be taken by Reynolds Reynolds down the sideline and into the midfield.
Ruby Dee has shaken off by Santos, who wins possession for Dallas, and now Dallas will move it down the left wing into the middle.
With testament, Chessman will switch Fields.
Now it's Reynolds on the near side.
Giving away by Dallas is that errant pass one out of play new? Who will take the throne for Seattle in the Sanders? Give it right back.
Thank you, Jane, for joining the broadcast.
Reynolds will take the throne right around midfield for FC Dallas and look at the homegrown players available tonight.
Aces Ferreira, Brandon Sylvania and Ricardo.
Peppy options off the bench and then Tanner Testament, along with fibrous PICO, both in the starting lineup.
So a total of five homegrown players for this Dallas team as that cross is over the end line for a goal kick.
Yeah, going back to that Gomez opportunity, I thought it went off his back, but instead I looks like it went off the shoulder, but nothing close to a handball.
There's no doubt about it.
His arm was tucked in Azaz well, making sure it wouldn't be.
I I know, really is third in their group in Barce is first.
Yeah, Thiago Santos back in now. The clearance.
SPI Seattle It's kept alive by Reynolds Jordan Morris Tracking back New Who knocks it away? Reynolds looking for a quick throwing? So I Reynolds, not PICO, is the other homegrown player. My apologies.
I miss read the list for a moment there.
Reynolds got tripped on the past, but no foul called.
And now Seattle look to counter, but that's played out for a FC Dallas.
Throwing right on Madrid are gonna finish last.
I mean, it's possible anything can happen now in that group.
It's crazy because all the teams are only separated by three points.
This is playing in the middle for Lodeiro Lodeiro, forward for Ruidiaz, and it was cleared very quickly by Dallas, the Sounders in possession Still.
Now they'll play it out because Raul Ruby Dee has still down on the turf.
He was trying to get on the end of that pass and on the follow through from the clearance by Hedges felt the impact of that effort by Hedges to clear the captain of this FC Dallas team, Matt Hedges, about a quarter of an hour played and Ruidiaz down for Seattle at the moment.
Now back to his feet, Ruidiaz, take a jog over to the sideline seems to be just fine.
She's a good, which is a good thing for Seattle fans, that's for sure.
Rudy is such a big part of this Seattle team.
Every day is now back on the field.
Gomez will play across the back line.
Now it's O Neill, who will play to Stephan Fry, the goalkeeper for the Sounders.
Another long time player for Seattle, went back for Test Hman, who couldn't control nearly one back in the midfield.
But on the ball is Ruidiaz Ruidiaz.
Now to the near side in space.
Morris trying to set up Nico Lodeiro with the through ball, but Hedges gotten away.
A great read by Matt Hedges.
Seattle, though when it back in their own half.
Played forward by Cristian Roldan.
Now it is wound.
Paulo gets the return ball from Morris.
Now it's wide to new.
Who, and there will be a foul called as Ladera went down.
Seattle Quickly restart.
Play to the byline.
Floats it in. Morris controls.
Couldn't locate the ball in PICO, able to steal it and clear it to midfield.
Once again. The Sounders back in possession.
Seattle looking to break the deadlock early on as Ruby Dee has didn't see that challenge coming.
There was one by Reynolds, but only for a short moment.
That passed, though from Seattle.
Given back to FC Dallas.
Nice one time pass in the space with Ricart Require ta the ball forward.
A shot to the back post was just marginally off target, and so FC Dallas is first shot of the night was a good one.
It all started from Franco Harrah's great pass to find require day, and then the ball played forward by required a set hauling shot in on goal.
Then that's a promising opportunity for the away side.
The six seed out west, this long ball played forward is headed down by Hedges.
Here's John Nelson left back tonight for Dallas now into required to.
On the near side, it's Matt Hedges, just to the midfield toe.
Alice Patient and Possession here that was lost by PICO.
And now here comes Seattle.
Through the middle, it's played out wide.
Ruby Dee has let it go.
Morris will get there along the sideline.
Morris in Ruidiaz, back wide for Morris, about 20 minutes play.
No score in this Western Conference semifinal.
Here is Lodeiro.
Lodeiro cuts it back.
The shot to the near post just off the mark from Raul Ruidiaz.
We've seen that plenty of times over the year, Lodeiro and Ruidiaz linking up, and that's when they could be dangerous in the attacking third.
It just was a little bit behind Lodeiro, which made it a tough shot trying to get it back on frame.
Yeah, it's a possibility that Real Madrid could finish third in the group in playing Europa League, which I just can't picture Rail Madrid playing in the Europa League because we're so used to them on Lee being in the Champions League and going far into the competition deep into the competition.
I should say this was sent forward by PICO and it's gonna drop down.
You just couldn't quite time that ball perfectly.
Or else he could have been off and running with the one on one chance.
Madeira flicks it forward Morris closed down by Hedges, a steal by Dallas, played forward by hauling Schett Hollingshead with it back for required a a good ball and PICO the header across to the penalty spot.
But the clearance from Gomez give Seattle a breather.
But Al, it's not done here is required, saying the midfield likes it over the top and unable to get clean contact.
There was Frank O Hara would have been a spectacular goal had he made clean contact, a looping ball over the top.
He had the time it absolutely on cue.
It's not quite able to do so halfway through the first half and no score from Blumenfield in Seattle.
Washington, formerly known as Centurylink field.
I'm getting used to the new names.
Surprisingly, I thought I'd keep calling at Centurylink Field, but I think I've done a good job adjusting to the new name.
Morris, on the run, lays it back for Tiago Santos.
Now at the edge of the area, it's Ruidiaz into Lodeiro.
Lodeiro goes wide on the right wing.
It's Jovan Jones, but good work by, required to come up with the steal.
Now down the right wing, it's Reynolds Reynolds into the middle.
He finds Hollingshead on the near side.
It's Reynolds because that's now by Hedges.
Hedges will switch fields for Dallas.
The MLS Cup playoffs have just been absolutely thrilling.
Just about every game has had plenty of drama.
The two Eastern Conference semifinals did not disappoint on Sunday.
It's a good steel, and now here comes Knew who New, who went down? No foul called.
There might have been a slight push by Breasts on, but not according to the referee.
That's last off of Santos will be a Seattle throwing that have a chilly night.
It appears in Seattle.
Well, I can't base that off, the Dallas coach, Luchi Gonzalez, bundling up because this Dallas team aren't used to cold weather.
Most likely, I honestly, I'm unsure of what the temperature is in Seattle does.
That pass was released.
There was a foul against Dallas, right about midfield.
It is currently 42 degrees in Seattle.
So, yeah, bit of a chilly night.
Could be worse, though.
Your Swan Paulo follow back for Lodeiro.
Lodeiro goes wide with it into Ladera.
I was given away by Alex Roldan, but it's one backed by the Sanders.
Here's Jordan Morris Morris with pace in on goal and a great challenge of the very last second from Ryan Hollingshead.
It will be a corner kick for the Sanders.
And on that play right there, we were reminded of that pace.
Jordan Morris has Uh huh, just split both hedges and Reynolds.
Eventually, Hong said, was able to track back flicked on by Gomez to the edge of the box.
Seattle keep possession.
But now it will be played all the way back for Stefan Frei.
Cristian Roldan goes wide with it.
Here is Christian rolled on for the Sounders, 26 minutes gone and still no score from Blumenfield in the Pacific Northwest.
The challenge there.
Shane O'Neill went down a bit of a strange sequence where all Neil couldn't take it down and going in full force was Hollingshead and O Neill feeling the after effects.
So you just got rammed over.
It's a bit strange.
Shallow Neil couldn't control that.
Paul, though I was played wide, seems routine but was not right there.
I spit of skill and tight space from require ta.
He'll play it back for Tanner Testament chest pains.
Pass intercepted Seattle back with it.
And now, with Pace New who will win the throwing for the Sounders? How can you say Zidan isn't a good coach? He won three Champions Leagues with them new who? Trying to get away.
Obviously, things are going well right now, but you can't fly outside.
He isn't a good coach.
He has proven that he's a good coach that passed for Ruidiaz too far ahead.
Hedges stepped in and it will be a Dallas throwing.
Ultimately, FC Dallas have been eliminated.
Listen this by Portland or Seattle in their last five playoff appearances, so the two teams in the Northwest have caused them a lot of trouble.
The last five playoff appearances for Dallas.
They got by Portland, and can they get by Seattle? They face either one of them, if not both every year.
It seems like because it's a foul against.
PICO could set piece opportunity here for the Sounders, and it's Nico Lodeiro standing over the ball for Seattle.
Lodeiro sends it in, dealt with easily.
Maybe a second chance, though, for the Sounders, it's into testament testament to the corner.
She tried to trap rolled on, but Christian rolled onto the nice job to win the throwing.
About a half hour played nil nil the score in this Western Conference semifinal.
So long ball flicked over toe Morris, who couldn't get much behind that header, not ableto steer it on target scoreless through 30 minutes.
These two teams met last year in the postseason game in which Seattle 143 in a thriller.
The other conference semifinals in the East took place Sunday, New England beating Orlando 31 and Columbus defeating Nashville two nil after extra time, and so will be a Columbus New England Eastern Conference final.
As you guys know, I'm a big Revolution fan and I'll be on the call for that on Sunday at three, that game will be in Columbus.
The higher seat will be the three versus the eight seed.
Under a bit of pressure here with Stefan Frei got it away in time to O Neill, who does force it off of Ryan Holling said to win the throwing on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Eastern time, it will be the other Western Conference semifinal.
Sporting Kansas City.
We'll face Minnesota United.
Yeah, I'm fine with wearing a mask salad streaming right now, obviously doing the Kentucky Kansas game.
That's a good college basketball game.
Yeah, So free kick here for the Sounders, fouled by Frank O Hara.
You also seem to settle in a bit after Seattle definitely were on the front foot to start looking for an early goal.
Did not get it pretty evenly matched for the most part thus far.
Yeah, it's on the near side with Reynolds.
Reynolds back for Matt Hedges all the way back with the keeper Jimmy Mara are a wide for Matt Hedges.
Grayson goes wide FC Dallas, as I mentioned a moment ago, comfortable in possession of the moment.
Hopefully, masks aren't permanent.
I believe is what you meant.
Yeah, I don't think they shouldn't be permanent.
That will have to wear masks.
Once the vaccine becomes available to the public, you know, hopefully we can start living our lives.
Normally again, this has played out wide to the near side.
It's now with Reynolds Reynolds under a bit of pressure.
It's a steal by New Who? Luchi Gonzalez screaming for a foul.
Nothing called Knew.
Who cuts it back for Morris, Morris said to the 18.
Try to square it for Nikola der Ho, but good job tracking back there.
And it was stolen ultimately by Dallas.
Now place starting to open up a bit, PICO into the midfield and to end this last minute or so.
That's how it was last year when these two teams met throughout.
Required, sends it in the box, back out to the edge of the area.
Maybe a second chance here, Holling said.
Back for record set back toe.
Holling said It's held by test men now wide with PICO, His strike blocked by new who and now the clearance.
SPI Seattle, Dallas, though hold on to it.
10 minutes left in this first half the Western Conference semifinals.
No, it's wide for Reynolds.
New, who under a bit of pressure shakes him off now goes down the line.
Stepping up to win the header was Matt Hedges turn into space by Tiago Santos in Dallas.
Take advantage of all this possession they have at the moment and create some chances wide for Reynolds.
He has space Morris able to come in and send it off of Reynolds to win a throwing nicely done by Jordan Morris, one of the stars for this Seattle team.
The throw ins played short, and that's a push off from Rui from Ruidiaz FC Dallas.
With a set piece coming up, Rudy is checking out Brisson, the left center back for this Dallas team.
Luchi Gonzalez, very active and vocal on the sideline.
Huge game for obviously, both teams with a spot in the West final on the line required steps up.
You'll delivered in pretty good delivery will bounce down to the byline, the crossing by hara clear to the edge of the area.
Shots for a handball.
It looked like it might have been on Joel Paulo, but nothing called.
And here come the Sounders the other way.
The clip from behind but back up to his feet, His Christian rolled on We Play on rolled on into Ruidiaz, a nice takedown by Ruidiaz into Jovan Jones.
Now it's Jordan Morris Morrison to Nico Lodeiro.
Seattle will switch to the far side.
It was taken away for a moment, but under pressure, Dallas lost it.
That cross, though, cut out.
And now here come FC Dallas play really starting to open up here because it will be played back by.
I bring P call Dallas.
Lose it in the middle.
Ruidiaz for Lodeiro.
I'll play it back to Alex Roldan.
Now here's Paulo New, who, trying to look for options, goes the safe route and find Giampaolo Seattle down the right hand side.
Six minutes to play in this opening half, here on SportsCastr in the Western Conference semifinals, the possession slightly in favor of Seattle 54.
Maybe a chance here.
A good ball in, but Jones sends it over the bar, but the Sounders able to open up some space and there came the opportunity that was lurking.
It was a nice cut back, and Jovan Jones just kind of See that one up awkwardly was a little off balance, and that's what sent it well over the bar.
40 minutes played, nil nil from Blumenfield.
They're applied by Ruidiaz that results in a steel.
Ladera leaves it for Ruidiaz Ruidiaz onto his right foot.
The shot deflected off of it looked like Bressant.
It does result in a Sounders corner kick.
You can see the Seattle attack coming alive in that pressure, really paying off, not boding well for Dallas and that was headed by Christian rolled on, ultimately went over the bar for a Dallas goal kick.
Alex rolled on in a second career postseason appearance.
Made his postseason debut last year in the Western Conference final against LFC Collision.
There along the sideline, Lear Dom was the regular starting right back for Seattle.
He suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the season.
Lear Dems now back to full recovery, But that's how impressed Brian Schmitz has been with Alex Roldan.
It right back that he's retained that starting because the start that's starting role at right back, he's been doing well, playing alongside his brother, Christian New, who into Christian rolled on a lot of physicality there, the whistle is blown, and even after the fact Frank O Hara delivering a blow to world on things getting a bit chippy, which is what you expect to see in the high stakes playoff game like this, Jordan Morris brings it down for the Sounders.
Back to New who? Lalo moves into the midfield long ball wide by a Mark Gomez.
Nice ball forward for Morris, who went the unselfish route.
Try to play it back into the path of Ruidiaz, but it was taken away the last second.
Dallas able to clear and a free kick one by Dallas.
Little bit too physical.
There was Christian rolled on in a free kick.
Good work by required a two hold onto possession and draw that foul two minutes until we reach stoppage time In this opening half, I will be ableto Onley.
Do this game until halftime, since I do unfortunately have school tomorrow.
PICO continues his run here and it's a foul against Alex rolled on.
It sets up Ah free kick in a dangerous area for the Sounders for Ah, Dallas.
Excuse me and we'll see what they can make of the opportunity as We approach the final few minutes of the first half on set pieces this season, including the playoffs.
Dallas with four goals scored in Seattle.
Seven goals conceded requires a lifting it in the header wide from PICO.
We couldn't get under it as much as he would have liked.
And so a goal kick for Seattle.
Stoppage time on the horizon is Landeros fouled free kick.
One quick restart.
Giampaolo goes, lied with It probably won't be much stoppage time in this first half.
We'll find out in the moments time here is Jordan.
Morris Morris had too much pace on the cross and it's out for a Dallas throwing and there'll be one minute added on to this first half.
This has played forward by New who? A nice touch by Jones.
PICO got his body in front of that strike.
It's captain played by Jones.
Now it's Alex Roldan who cuts it in the box.
That strike was blocked by Ricart in Seattle.
Get one last chance, a heavy challenge at the edge of the area.
Play on, says the referee.
Advantage given across cleared second chance and Dallas survive on an end to that first half multiple chances for the Sounders, but they can't find the back of the net.
So nil nil at the midway point in this Western Conference semifinal that will have to do it for my broadcast.
Folks, I'm Samuel re signing off saying Good night.
I do have school tomorrow.
Wish I could do the second half.
It should be a good one.
But you guys enjoy the rest of the night and the rest of this game.
And I'll see you next time here on SportsCastr.
So long for now.
I'll see you for Champions League tomorrow afternoon, looking forward to it.
