Okay, Once again.
Welcome to the L S U vs Alabama Game Preview.
We are going to preview L s U and Alabama this coming Saturday.
That will be, um, 7 p.
I will have the game for you, a SportsCastr and stream yards.
So that will be, um on.
The editors are on a press conference from Monday and also we'll have the Knicks saving press conference, and we'll also have game previews as well.
Uh, I'll give you my perspective on on this game.
So once again, thanks for joining us.
Let's go over to the editors were on press conference first and then we'll have Nick Savings.
So let me get this up on my screen for you.
We'll have it set up for you, and I'm gonna pull it up right now so we'll have it up on the screen for you one second.
So I'm gonna have editors. Were on first.
E was quite simple.
I thought our defense played his best game the whole year.
Colin, Texas A and M for 13 points.
Hold the 267 yards total offense.
Their lowest output of the season.
There were two of 16 on third downs.
We've been phenomenal third down the last two games on defense and I thought that Colonel, 1/4 and one was an excellent players, an excellent effort playoff watching about 20 times and was look turned the outcome of the game that was about to go up 17 points and just a tremendous effort about defense on offense someone, The scheme has to be better.
Watch the film yesterday.
We need to put our better players and better position, call better plays and have answers their blitzes that had too many Free Blitzer's hitting our young quarterbacks.
Then I execution has to be better a source of passport on run blocking.
We did not control their front but did not control their blitzes.
We watched that yesterday will identify what went wrong and we came up with a lot of solutions.
So there's a There's gonna be a big day would fix.
Of what? We're rolling offense.
Obviously, we're, uh, well minus three and the turnover battle.
We had a turnover on special teams.
Special teams did not play his best game.
We had a missed field goal.
We had four penalties and then Zach was running for his life back there.
Thank God he's athletic.
He avoided a couple of I blocked punt, so I thought Zack did a tremendous job of getting us out of trouble.
Uh, terrorist Marshall opted out Terrorists has been a great L S u tiger.
For us, it was in a heated battle for him.
He was the number one wide receiver in the state of Louisiana is a must get a great family from Shreveport, Louisiana.
So we wish him the very best.
And I know he's gonna have a great career in the NFL on, and he's always gonna be a great Tiger.
And he did a lot of things for us, gave us seven games at 10 receptions at his best game, and he just thought, This is the time to opt out.
So we're gonna respect his decision and wish him the best.
Uh, today's will be about fixing l s u and a little bit about Alabama.
And then tomorrow we'll move on to Alabama to Scotland, report on, get ready for them.
But we practice Alabama, see like but now for the third week, so we kind of know him with very well, obviously a great football team.
Great football coach.
Led by the offense.
48 points a game.
Mac Jones is having a tremendous year. Nagy hires.
Is gonna be the best back we see all year about this permit is an outstanding player of 72 reception.
They do a great job.
Sarkeesian does a great job of getting him the ball and probably the best offensive line that we'll see all you a tremendous challenge.
But we're looking forward to play in Alabama.
Hope we have a great crowd there as many as we possibly can.
It will be a wonderful night for the types.
Any question? Hey, Coach, good morning.
You touched on terrorists.
I have some questions related.
Thio pops out and transfers and all those things.
But the first off the terrorist talk to you about it about his decision.
You kind of alluded toe.
You know what? Maybe the time he was right.
Secondly, this season when it started, we all do is gonna be different.
Did you have to adjust your mindset and you like to say, Set your jaw for different You know scenario with these kids, they may out that in the mid season there may still be more to come.
You kind of have toe, understand? I guess.
And kind of smiled for your for them.
Yeah, Well, first of all, Terrorist did come talk to me a few more like a man.
Terrence and I have a great relationship.
You know, I played with his uncle Joe Delaney, and you and I talked about you all the time and s So it was a little different between player and a coach between me and terrorists, Almost like family.
So he can talk to me like a man.
He explained his decision or respected his decision.
Yes, this is a different time, and you will be able to, you know, like tomorrow chase often out terrorist forces to the best receivers in the country.
Uh, Tyler Shelvin, you just got to deal with something you've got to deal with. Next man up.
We've got a lot of young guys.
They're getting play now.
They excited, and I think this is gonna help us in the future.
PE Coach Ryan and see him at the NBC in Birmingham.
I just got off the zoom with coach saving.
He's still at home recovering from Kobe, but he said he plans on being back for the game against you guys.
What kind of challenges does that bring you with coach saving on the sidelines? Compared to him, let's say, coaching from, I guess from home.
Well, you know, he's a great coach.
I mean, look at what he's done, and he does a fantastic job of the football team.
You could see the same traits in and out with the football team.
Great players, great coaches, great place.
I think that the guys did a tremendous job with this program.
Coach, Uh, what will assume that you all sent the kitchen booty call that was reversed to the SEC.
What? What was your interpretation of it? And have you did you get a response from them? About about that call being reversed? Yeah, we didn't get a response back, but we definitely sent it back.
And, uh, we'll see what this looks.
Brooke, did you think it was? Do you? Can you say whether you have an opinion on the offshore? I thought I was uh, yeah, I mean, you've talked about kind of preparing for this year with all the ops out, the possibilities, Um, kind of two questions.
The second, you know, won't be related to this, But I'm curious.
As the season continues, do you Do you expect Mawr players to follow? Or how do you approach that? Talking to the team in the wake of this? Yeah, that has not been discussed with anybody else's.
I haven't heard anything.
The first time I heard about Terrence up and out was Sunday morning.
He had a tremendous game.
But, you know, we're gonna take it day by day.
I mean, the other players cannot thought That's the rule.
Nobody has talked to me about it, but again, we'll take it day by day and see.
And you had the talked about protection offensive line.
They're working a lot about that today, he said.
I mean, is it about all similar to the frustrations you had a couple of years ago? In 2018? We just had to bring other people into protect and limits you a bit.
And remember, you all talk a little bit about spreading out, allowed you all toe, give the quarterback less pressure.
Sometimes it almost seems like counterintuitive, but I'm wondering what does.
It isn't at all similar to that.
And how are y'all finding the answers to weigh, like, to split? And we like to keep one back into protection.
But we also like to empty it out because you get rid of the ball quick.
What happened in this game wasn't amount of people that were blocking and was how we were blocking and they were overloaded.
One side and we turned away from it and those guys came.
And, uh, that's just scheme.
There's something that we can fix.
Uh, that wasn't about bringing extra people into the protection.
We like to get us many people as we can out.
We had enough people in protection, but we just wasn't sliding in the right way.
Hey, Coach, Good morning.
A couple quick questions for you if I can.
Last year, honestly, everything's hunky door and couldn't have been better think this year.
Obviously it's been challenging you the face of the program.
The head coach, Where is this program heading, Coach? I mean, and where is the light at the end of this kind of dark 2020 tunnel pit.
We build a championship program and we will be championed together.
Recordings going well, We got some great young players.
We ask him something. We have to get fixed.
I don't know. We have to fix it.
But I've done it before or I'll do it again.
And coach, I know you're big on culture.
Pete Carroll, your mentor, has talked to you about all that.
Do you feel good about the culture inside your building right now? I feel good about what we built here, over over my letters.
I think that we have some things to work on.
We have some leadership things to work on.
I have some things to work on to get better, but overall, I think we build a great culture inside the building.
This year has been a challenge, obviously, with over 19 other stuff going on A Z, uh, kind of put a a little spin on everything.
You know, You don't know what the next guy's gonna opt out, who's opt out.
But I think that overall that we built a good culture here and we have a good young foundation.
You know, obviously with terrorists gone, you can't replace that production that he gave you guys.
But just who are some people are some players that you're hoping to step up in his absence.
Kind of take over as kind of the next in line for you guys.
So I like I like us to get Eric Gilbert.
The Baltimore, like Gilbert, is an outstanding player.
We can move him out the receiver position, John Trade Kirkland sitting in the wings.
Hopefully we could get trip on my back.
I don't think racing Max is gonna be back this week.
And then we have two great young receivers and Josh Abu thank are more.
So we have a lot of guys air hunger to catch the ball.
And I think the next man up is gonna prove that they're very good receivers.
Hey, Coach did the terrorists Now that terrorist is gone? Did he have co vid earlier in the season, or does he have it now? No, I don't.
And also want to ask you, considering that the speech terrorists made to the players about sticking into the season a couple of weeks ago.
How do you think then that he's left? What do you think the players think of that? And what do you think about? No, I think there's something we gotta deal with.
Obviously, uh, he had a change of heart.
I thought when he said it, he met it, and the team believed them.
I think that obviously had a change of heart.
You never can tell what goes on with guys.
Uh, when they talk with their families or people they talk to and they made personal decisions.
I think this was a strictly a business decision.
But Terrence, I can't speak for him.
Let him speak for it.
But again, we support him.
And he's been a great Alice. Retire for us.
You talked about the challenges of this season.
Um, you know, I look at you guys or a team like Penn State or maybe Louisville, for example, that were coming off solid years last year and have certainly not lived up to those expectations this year.
How much of that do you think is related to the challenges specifically of 2020 and cove it And do you While there's the upside of guys getting reps and playing and continuing to build that culture.
Do you worry about damage done to, um, you know, the culture or the brand or anything like that by having a season that is underwhelming, I guess.
Well, you always gotta represent L s u with prime and understand standard performance here is very high.
We have not met.
Okay? But you know what? I'm not gonna make any excuses for Covert.
I'm not gonna make any excuses for young players.
We just got to get the job done.
There's a lot of factors that came into this year.
I think the biggest thing was the lost all those great players.
And you could look up in the NFL today and they dominate the NFL.
You want to know why we had a good teeth? Look at the players that we lost.
And now we have some young players that I think gonna be Justus.
But they're just not there yet.
Hey, hey! Out of Dad.
Um, what do you plan to do? If you can say sorry about your quarterback position this week? Do you find a settle on one or will you play too? And When would you make that decision? Well, we'll see the game plan throughout the week.
You know, it was surfaces wet.
We thought that the only reason we pulled t j was to put Max in and to try some quarterback runs.
And we had planned that all week, and we thought that we could get that number way could.
So we're gonna see this week we're gonna practice both, um And then we're gonna make that decision at the end of the week According to the game plan, What we need to get done on offense.
Hey, and obviously gave that explanation about the offensive line and what you kind of think was going on, but just to kind of understand better.
Do you think they were mistakes or do you think it's just something you guys have to change without your scheming? I was both both First of all, you got to escape.
I mean, we did not have them in the right position a lot of the times, and there were some free butchers coming in.
So the way we turned the protection the way we protect those things can be fixed easily.
And there's things that we have done before.
Now there's a couple of times when we got to meet one on one.
We gotta have better technique and we've got to play better and compete better.
So it's a combination of both.
Hey, you mentioned Keshawn and Coy is a couple of guys that you'd like to see more of down the stretch.
Where are those two freshmen receivers in terms of their development and just how, How ready do you feel like they are or what are some things you need to see from them to take on that bigger role the rest of the way? Yeah, I think they're ready to play.
I think they're really playing well.
Obviously, there's something that they need to walk work on.
Obviously, covert guys were getting quarantine not being in practice for a couple of weeks and missing.
Mrs sometimes hurt them a little bit.
But I think overall, both those guys have demonstrated practically ready to play.
Hey, Coach Shea Dixon, 20 47 you each week you had talked about things you wanted to see cleaned up on defense.
I assume that list was shorter after the weekend what was key for them.
You know when you saw the film again and during the flow of the game simplification, communication, the things that we've been working on, having their cleats in the grass.
I think the biggest thing that came out of the game was no explosive passes on.
That was a big improvement.
Plus we had some explosive runs, but we didn't have mistake's for Guys were running free down there scoring touchdowns.
I thought out man to man coverage was great.
I thought out plan was great.
I thought our defensive line played very well against a very good offensive line.
We tackled well, our linebackers got to the football.
We missed a couple of fence on the counter plays on the big plays, but to hold him for 13 points and two or 67 yards was a great output, my defense and staying sort of on that theme of sort of defensive improvement you mentioned third down earlier, how ago made that such a high go improved so much in that area over the last two, Exactly struggling in that way for man Rush Foreman, Russian great coverage all works together.
It all starts with the Foreman rush and tight coverage, the quarterback doesn't have a long time to throw them all.
That doesn't have many winners Through them all, we had some good pressure on the quarterback and then we have some five men Russia and we had some blitzes and abandon man covers. Was pretty good.
What did it mean to you when you consider all the criticism that coach Pollini has been under this year to see the defense improves dramatically, as they did last week? And how much of it do you think is pushed Pollini adapting Thio, his players or them kind of figuring out what he's been trying to teach all along.
I think it's a combination of both no bread and then you know what? The criticism that's outside knows.
We can't react to that and then we got to control our own mindset within the building and then we gotta believe with each other.
You gotta fight for each other, one team, one heartbeat, coaching staff players together.
But I do believe is a combination of both learning what our players can and can't do and our players understanding the scheme better and you could see it working.
Coach, I know that this year you've talked about getting to that championship Apex, especially chasing it last year.
But removing co vid from this season with this type of adversity in 2020.
Do you need a season like this to get to that championship pedigree again? You don't matter.
I think that you need to build a great within a football team.
I think you need to be tough, Bill toughness and the young guys need to learn how to go out there and play and went.
But we need a coach. You better.
So I think it's a combination.
Nobody wants to go through a season like this, but I do believe we're building character and grit, and it's gonna pay off for us later on it.
Oh, S****** Hobbs, Back to the terrorist speech again.
Are you concerned about what? That what that will do for the morale of the team? Uh, no.
That's something we can e mean.
That's something that happened last week.
I never thought this would happen this week, but you know what? We gotta deal with it, but this is a year that we've had to deal with a lot of stuff, and you just got to be ready to go.
Just stay positive with the football team.
I think the team is gonna look at it, said, OK, Terrence is gone.
Let's go. We're fighting.
I think the thing that you saw against Texas A and M was fighting on the football team.
The will to win to compete.
And all guys have that problem for that.
What on the white? Probably, uh, two part question when it first of all the defensively? Uh, yeah.
With the exception of two runs you really kept Spiller, you know, in check a lot of tackles for loss is our loss.
Can you relate the challenge that faces your defense this week with Najee Harris bigger back and a guy who I was a very capable of catching the ball in the back here? There's no question.
Well, first of all, they have, uh, this is the best offensive line we've seen come into Tiger Stadium in years.
This is gonna be a challenge.
And one of the best robots and he's very physical.
They know what they're doing.
Uh, the margin of error is gonna be very small.
We have to play well up front.
We have to tackle and we have to eliminate the explosive play.
I'm not sure the greater challenge I know.
That's only your coaching, a motivator.
You mentioned outside noise and how you looking ahead.
Uh, listen, Thio, your 4.
4 touchdown underdogs kind of the ways to kind of get Goliath kind of thing.
You know what number? Never talk about that.
That's not this'll.
Alabama the seller Shoot Alabama.
We could control. We could control.
Let's go in there, Let's play our best game and we possibly put Hey, good afternoon, Matmos Kona.
Maybe this is a little on the same line, but have to if I could.
Normally, when you're playing Alabama at where it falls on the calendar, there is still a championship on the line, and there isn't that now.
So what do you tell your team this week and then the other? If I could, um, after watching the film, how did you have grayed out the quarterbacks? And were there differences that you saw on film? And maybe what? You thought you saw real time? Well, the quarterbacks were under the rest.
Eso you know, I can't put anything on those young quarterbacks.
I thought they did the best that they could not.
They made some mistakes.
They made some Mr Reads.
But when there's free britches and they're attacking them all, that the young freshman quarterback I had to put all the blame.
But we gotta have a better scheme.
Number one on, then what? I'll tell this week we're playing.
Tell the teams we were playing Alabama at home.
That's all we need to hear on playing Alabama.
A great problem, for it is a great game over the years.
Number one team in the country coming the Tiger Station because play Hey, Coach Steve molten wcsc in.
I've got to please you mentioned about limiting the explosive plays and coming off your best game defensively.
What goes into especially with the kind of high caliber speeds Alabama does have limiting those explosive plays.
Coach, you gotta find what the Vontae Smith is.
You gotta know where he is.
That what you gonna do and you have to cover.
You may have a problem.
You may not, but if we do have single coverage.
We have got to get single coverage.
You gotta be able to eliminate him from getting the ball over the top.
They're Sarkeesian does a good job with this play action passing called, passed on and take shots.
He'll take shots and, uh, time after time and you can't get your safety is too far up to play the run because they throw the ball over your head.
I think that's the number one deal.
What was your second question? A second question is, uh, since this game is kind of a reschedule.
If you were to look back at your team when you were supposed to play Alabama, do you think your team is better today, then when you were supposed to play Alabama? Yeah, we have enough people to play.
We're playing the first.
We just didn't have enough people to play.
That's that's all.
And so I'm glad we playing them.
I'm glad we got to reschedule.
We look forward to playing and I know how much you wanted to have the spread offense, but in the SEC, everyone has it now in your back to face to really good offenses.
the next couple of weeks.
Um, do you feel like these quarterbacks that have come along? You know, so long as he was knocked for having no quarterback play? You feel like their production is a direct result of the spread.
And, like you said before seven on seven, yes, no question.
That puts athletes in space and let him make place.
And people scoring a lot of points on, uh, quarterbacks are being groomed in the seven or seven league they're going in there.
It's a shotgun getting the ball, throwing the ball, throwing it deep.
Then again, when you have a great athletes like they have to give the ball, you know you got a success.
They had two questions.
Uh, first off, I mean, how much was not being able to get a push in the run game? You know, not having Tory Carter available.
And what's this status coming back in his Eric Kind of more in that position now to the block.
Tori, Tori, uh, will not be available to you, you know, at fourth and one way.
We got beat in the line of scrimmage and that was a big play in the ballgame.
And then, you know, we're trying to run the leads inside.
There was no room to run.
We gotta be more creative.
We got to get the ball outside and we got a block.
Better e mean, it feels like this is the longest and strangest build upto Alabama that I've seen for a while. A couple of weeks.
I mean, what's what's been kind of behind the scenes? You said you wanted to play this game.
And how did you all talk about it? You know, you have other games to look at.
But in the buildup since how did you approach towards this? You know, somebody.
A great team and a great program, And, uh, it's about us.
But I was getting our team ready to play a great a great game, and they were the best that we possibly can.
Okay, Once again, Nick Saban will switch it over.
We evaluated by the medical staff later in the week, and they'll make a determination as to when I come back, but I don't anticipate any Oh, being able todo eso uh, you know, just thoughts on Blasio.
You know something? That's I think.
Well, I don't wanna talk any Anything else to do, but l s u Alabama.
I wanna talk about that.
I put him and I don't want his mouth.
No, I don't want to ask him out because I don't want to ask him out.
You're putting, man.
They put him in so I don't have to.
Here is freaking him out.
Then we stop this.
I got to stop this just to put a ****ing freaking **** thing in there.
Come on, man. You gotta be seriously.
Come on, Isaac. Let's go.
What? What? What you want? Okay.
You MK fly, Are you Are you there? Come on, answer.
I ain't got time.
Let's go. I got time.
I got time for this crap.
We gotta finish up.
Uh, Knicks, Davis.
Sorry about that, Folks.
Once again apologize.
We're getting off once again.
I need to wear off.
Is the Auburn game is usually the last game of the season.
You win the game.
It's, you know, a good season on.
You kind of move on a really a four.
I'm throwing your ass out.
See you later. Bye.
You wanna laugh? Be serious, son.
I ain't got time for none of this crap.
Get the hell out of here.
You always come up in here and you wanna You wanna be laughing a lot of good things in the game Saturday, I thought the energy level or the way the players not their played hard play with a lot of toughness.
It's always a very physical game.
We did some really good things, make some explosive plays on offense and, uh, played okay on defense.
But, you know, we had our spots where, you know, we didn't finish really well in the fourth quarter.
That's a missed tackles.
Left some opportunities in the past, the game on the running game, on the field.
Um, you know, offensively.
But I think whenever you play a game, regardless of how good or bad the victory, uh, or defeat might be, there's always things that.
You know, you're looking for relative to how we can get better.
And I think the big thing is just it's fairly obvious when we execute and do things well, we have success when we don't execute things exactly like they're supposed to be done on.
It can only be one guy that has toe, you know, miss the execution.
Right? Then things don't work out quite as well.
So, you know, that's something that we need to continue to try to focus on so that we can continue to grow and have a kind of consistency and performance.
So it's not about doing things.
Occasionally it's all right.
It's about doing things right, you know, all the time on getting it right on a consistent basis.
Um, you know, it's great for Mike Jones to be the SEC offensive player of the week.
Um, so e o film.
And, um What? We owe practice today? Um what do you want? You stop in my show.
What? What do you want? Isaac? What do you want? Did you playing the video? E want to? I want to listen Thio Coach saving.
I don't wanna hear e don't wanna hear you talking e o that sound.
Listen, so all you gotta dio All right? Just listen, Thio.
Isaac, get the hell out of here, then.
You don't wanna listen to the video.
Get the hell out of here.
I ain't got time for this tonight.
All right. See you later.
Did it? Goodbye.
They e got all the crap.
You had it all way, you know? Ls Premium No, A right.
You are very, very talented team.
Um, you know, these guys that look ***ually good Congress.
There are people that have lots of the players looked like the ball.
Um, very explosive on offense.
Uh, really Receive it.
You're running back.
You know, with this year, because of how many players they lost A You know what? Just ignore. May.
I'm not talking.
I'm busy right now.
Isaac, I'm trying to get this done.
Yes, I'm not delaying me.
Isaac, you're delaying your absolutely delaying me.
All right, I'll come back after come back after.
What are you doing after? I'll be on for a few minutes.
Come on. Come on, back out.
I will be on an s skirt.
All right. Whatever I said, Whatever.
You're delaying me. I said, Yeah, absolutely.
Thes guys really played well last week in Texas A and M.
The defense has really played better and better as the season has worn on.
And they've got some very talented players on defense on the secondary in front seven as well.
Um, you know, skill.
Guys on offense are really good.
Couple of young receivers are really playing.
Well, Eric, Guilt Gilbert is very, very good. Tight end.
These guys have really good team speech, so they're always really good on special teams that got good specialist.
So, um, this is ah, team that's very capable of being a Z Good as anybody we played all season long because of the talent they have on their team.
So I think our team has to be no way.
Tailor your pervert players.
Okay, guys, we'll get started.
Gooses back and forth, guys.
I know, I know, but that's not what we're talking about right now.
We're talking about l s u in Alabama.
That's what we're talking about.
If you have anything to say about l s u Alabama.
Um, you could discuss it, but eso Jaylen Waddle So he will be playing so Alright, yeah, it's all that need to hear.
So because you're delaying my broadcast, so started with John E O.
You're still so well and everything.
But what How is how is your secondary improved and involved? A season is gone e think they've improved and gotten better.
Obviously, you know, we're playing two guys that refreshment, you know, out of the sticks that play the most.
DeMarco Helen's has alternated in some a spare part and has done a nice job.
I think the two corners have, you know, I played pretty consistently well forced this year.
I think that the young players coming once a place from last year, we definitely you know, Cruz and played better and better.
So I think it's just a material process of the young player realizing the importance of doing things directly and preparing for a game properly, Alright, so that they're not sort of caught off guard or surprised.
We see things in the game and who has anything who says you have anything on? I turn it off is going to cause feedback, you know, understanding that.
Hey, guys, we're practicing this stuff because this is what you what you need Thio anticipate when they're on these receiving locations and running these kinds of emotions.
So you shouldn't be surprised by e I think the knowledge and experience has been very helpful and helping them play with more confidence as well.
G o h Q W w Isaac, Turn off that device.
I'm gonna have to take you out of here.
You're gonna have to turn that device all.
Whatever is on, I don't want You don't want to hear that device.
You come in here and you ruin myself.
I don't like this for fourth.
All being out for a few weeks now are limited role.
What do you think you got from Julia, Billy's Lee and Carl Tucker and Kindle Randolph in bigger role? And those guys have a really, really good job.
They kill the role very nicely.
Giulio is kind of coming into his honorable.
That is a tight end.
Very good receiver.
I think you know, having some success in the last couple of games.
It's probably helped us confidence a little bit.
Um, then he's, you know, definitely somebody who we feel can make place for us on offense.
And we need to try to utilize him everybody that we can.
But getting Carl back was was good because he was hurt for a while, and no one got hurt that Carl came back.
Um, so you know, that entire group of tight ends that's kind of mixed and matched nicely all year long to will help us be successful in the running game and the passenger.
So Michael Casagrande.
Another team with Devante Smith.
He's obviously done very well recently.
Gotten a lot of passes.
How do you guys try to distribute the ball on? How do you How do you have to be creative, I guess Toe, get him.
The ball with defense is blocking on him.
Uh, well, you know, I think that you try to move them around on the best campaign E think you know, it gets really hard to try toe, especially in regular down situations.
And I think in regular down situations where Smitty has made a lot of his explosive place when I say regular down situations.
It's on play action.
Pass its own bubbles.
It's on, Um, it's not really third down situations, third down situations.
You have a little bit better chance.
I think when you know it's gonna be a pass to try toe, take somebody out of the game, if that's what you know, the question that you're asking me eso the fact that we move him around a lot and he's a smart guy, he can play all the positions, which is very helpful because you know, some guys that you have a plan and receiver, it's almost like the defense back.
Some guys can just wait for it.
They can't play anything else.
You know, some guys can just like split in or ex receiver as we call.
You know other guys can only play Z where the flanker position but in this case, because he can play eight, she can play actually can play.
See, I mean, we can move him all over the place, so that really makes it hard for the defense to track the guy and make adaptations and changes relative formations, especially when you're in run past situations, which is regular downside stuff.
So I think start does a really good job of moving guys around and utilize the personnel so that, you know, we can't get the playmakers, the ball.
That's always been something that has been really important to us.
I don't know what the exact numbers are, but you've got a pretty good record when it comes to these revenge games.
I wonder, as a coach, in your experience, how powerful of a motivator is revenge when it comes to playing a football game.
E o be honest with you.
E never tried to use that as a motivating factor.
From, you know, every season is different.
Every team is different.
Um, but do I think it is a motivating factor with individuals and players? Absolutely think it is? I think that awareness of what happened in last year's game and all that is always something that, um, you know, players remember, think about how they felt, you know, after the game last year or whatever on I do think it's a motivating factor now.
As I said, I usually don't try to use that, you know, because our case, I don't wanna sound procedures here, But we only have a few of those where we can, you know, sort of looking last year or the year before or whatever and say what happened was an issue or problem.
Um, but I think that, you know, nobody likes to get disrespected.
And I think when you lose a game, you feel that way to some degree, and I think it's human nature to try to make it right.
So I do think that that is a motivating factor for most human beings.
We'll go there and sells.
Jody Billingsley is sort of a new age tied and a guy with wide receiver skills and issue mentioned earlier.
L s u has one of those guys and Eric Gilbert.
How did those type players stress the defense? Yeah, well, I I think that, you know, I've always said this before.
The tight ends are really difficulty mismatch guys because of who ends up covering the most of the time.
Um, you know, you got the best corners covering the wide receivers.
But when these guys were lined up close to the core and they're running past options are more difficult to define, you know, rather than how they lined up Who ends up covering who ends up matching up on? Um, I've always said that, you know, tight end in the great running back.
That's hard to cover.
You know, those guys are, you know, mismatch problem.
Because unless you put six defensive action there, you're not gonna have cover guys on them.
You're gonna have guys that you're probably putting on the field because they're good at stopping the run and other things, which at linebacker position is a very critical.
So I think those types of guys really create lots of problems, you know, for defense and way certainly had some issues with, um, you know, this year ourselves And, uh, you know, this guy that l s u Has is a really good player.
Just having watch film abilities, offense? How do you think that? A little different without terrorist Marshall build? I don't really think you know, Terrence Marshall is really a good player.
Uh, have a lot of respect for him.
And, um, great size and break ins.
And he's very instinctive as a player, so mhm.
I don't mean to we, you know, like, clear about the fact that he's not gonna play because he is a great player.
But I do think that they have other skill.
Guys, um, get back are very, very good as well.
Some of them may be not as experienced as you know, Terrence Marshall, but so I don't I don't know that they will do a lot of things differently.
Um, you know, it's it's really kind of hard to change years of this.
You know, the station in season China always kind of a development identity of who you are, what you could do well on.
But I think when these guys put it on all folders you know this for a 30 points a game, they could be a pretty good offensive team.
Um, So and I do think they have enough skill players that they could still, you know, have plenty of guys to make plays.
So I don't We don't You never know for sure.
Anticipate that they'll do things.
What? Okay, We will finish up with curtain in there.
What do you want? What do you want? Isaac? What do you want? So look, come on.
I said I ain't got time to play around, man.
Seriously, Are you kidding me? Just come in here just racking my shows.
That's what you're doing.
So you better better go.
Kirk, we can't hear you in your muted Can you be? Oh, probably can't hear him.
Okay, We're still having problems with cart.
We're gonna go to James Doubletree.
What do you want? I think.
What do you want? Interviews done.
So I'm here for that.
I'm just waiting for the end.
I'm is it right now? What? I'm not playing.
I'm not playing around tonight.
Want to get this done? The more you come up in here and the more you dulaymi finish up here, Coach Chris Allen is ah, guy who got the biggest name and get the most publicity on defense.
But he leads the team in tackles for loss, and the coaches have chosen him as one of the defensive players of the week several times.
What is it about his game that you like? And what kind of progress have you seen to make this year? Well, I think our two outside backers have both made a lot of progress this year.
And I think they sort of contribute thus playing better on the edges.
Uh, have a little better pass rush.
Um, you know, Chris is great size he's got.
You're ruining my ****ing shell.
Isaac? What the hell? What the hell? What? Isaac, put him back in.
Let's see what he wants.
So thinking what you want, okay? I don't know why he's coming in here bothering me, bothering me.
I'll get so frustrated with this.
Don't even don't Don't even answer him, Okay? This ruining my shelf.
Come on, Come on.
I said, come on.
Stop the folks too stupid for business.
You delay me, Isaac, with all the forwards that you're doing.
****ing aggravated with this boy.
What do you want? I think I'm gonna give you what? I am god**** busy right now.
I've been almost drank.
One I need just need your opinion.
You're ruining my show now.
What? What one? Can I speak about Alabama? When can I get my preview In how many minutes? I'm busy right now.
Can you text me to come in when I'm ready? When you're ready.
Come in. You come in.
Come in what time now to give my preview.
I'm doing the previews.
I'm doing my pre I'm doing the previews.
Just give me your opinion and that's it.
And just go ahead and go.
So here's my opinion.
So this could be the biggest option in franchise history.
Right here again.
You're gonna have to understand.
Alabama is rank one.
L issues unranked.
So not just that.
You're beating a number one ranked team.
It is absolutely nix savings.
So look, situation being this could be the biggest upset in history.
So that's why preview i e have a good one.
Have a good one.
Okay, we got way got I got things to do.
So, uh, my so by so once again, Isaac coming in.
Thanks for coming.
I appreciate it.
Sorry for being me. Tell you tonight.
This very upset.
I mean, I got to get this done.
Let's go ahead and get let's get the previews up.
I'm gonna get this up on the screen, so let's zoom break down the preview.
I'm gonna break this down for you.
So let's go ahead and give you this breakdown.
Okay, Alabama L s U I'm gonna go through the breakdowns.
Okay? In all games, Alabama scores 48 points a game.
That's 26 points at halftime.
But the first downs there at 27 1st downs? Uh, they're literally run the ball about 37 times.
That's an average of 4.
8 yards of game.
Also, go through scroll through here.
They're at 358 yards.
It's a good clip right there, 74.7%.
But they also put up 500 yards a game, so that's 536 yards a game.
That's just what we're looking at right here.
This is the stacks right on the screen.
So these are the total numbers coming into the the contest.
L s U and Alabama.
Also on the road games, they averaged 49 points a game.
They scored 25 a half at halftime.
They first down since that 29.7.
That's a, um, average of 29.
7, but they run the ball one of the road 38 times from the 196 yards.
1 clip right there coming in to that game and let's say, throwing the ball, they throw for 3 79.
But they also put up a total of 575.
That's on 72 plays coming into that game.
So that's what we're talking about here in this game.
So 575 yards in this game, the average 11.
6 yards for a play.
So that Z um, there, um, games.
So once again their defense, let's go over their defense of breakdowns.
Okay? The defense of breakdown.
They have 18 giving up 18 points a game.
They also, um, have nine attack halftime.
5 at halftime and then first downs.
They give up 19.5.
1st down, The time of possession is, uh, 30 minutes and 20 seconds.
So there on the field, 30 minutes and 20 seconds.
When it comes down to it now, the defense, the run defense.
4 yards a pop that they gave up 35 carries for 119 yards.
That's in games now.
The passing game.
They'll give up 239 yards.
That's 21 36 passes.
That's 57 a half percent, but they'll give up 358 yards.
Um, in retrospect.
So that's 358 yards.
Then it's an average of 19.
3 yards per game.
So yep, also on road games.
This is a road game now.
Um um, Alabama's averaging 28 points a game.
They also put up.
They give up 11.
5 at halftime, and first Downs is 23 22.3.
Once again, UM, 28.
24 that it's a time so 28 24.
So there time right there as close to 30 minutes now, um, giving up run plays.
They give up 43 run plays, 459 yards.
That's an average of 3.
Now, um, they'll give up 265 yards.
That's just 21 of 31 passing that 66% in their games now, no.
On 74 plays, they'll give up 74 plays.
They will give a 4 424 yards, so they'll put up 536 but they'll give up 424.
That's on road games.
So that's also the same thing on the road right there Now for L S U.
Let's go over to the L S u Cide.
Last couple of games will go through the stats on the screen.
L s u averages 30 points a game that's also 16 at halftime.
Uh, three offense once again, um, has 22 1st downs and also their time possession is 31 45.
Uh, they'll run the ball 35 times for ah, 112 yards.
2 yards for pop in the in their situation versus Alabama's um um 1 78.
So that's kind of the norm right there.
Now the passing game.
They'll go for 3 13.
2 completely percentage versus there.
Now let's go over some or breakdowns.
Okay, um, they will.
They will put up 425 yards.
That's on 76 plays.
6 yard for a pop right there and then 14 yards on attempts.
Now, um, in home games, L s u will put up 43 points a game there also will scored 22 at halftime.
So 22 at halftime they also put up 2027 1st downs and then their time possessions.
At 33 33 also once again 46.
They carried 46 times for 178 yards.
That's close to a 4.
When it comes down to it, that's at home games Now.
The passing game.
They'll throw for 3 85 3 or five schools meet three or five.
That's 65% completion percentage.
But they'll have 483 yards on 80 plays.
That's 483 yards on 80 place.
That they'll go 80 plays for that.
That beneficial number.
1 yards for power now on the defense of side will go to the defense.
Um, they put up.
They give up 30 points and also 15 points at halftime.
Their first downs is 19.
4 and their time of possesses 28 15.
And also that rushing yards.
Um, um 33 carries 140 yards that issue, um what they do else.
You when it comes down to it, they give up 140 yards on 33 carries.
It also give up 303 yards.
That's on passing. Got 58%.
And, uh, let's see.
They will give up 443 yards.
That's kind of 65 plays right there.
That's on 65 plays going in and also 6.
8 yards on past place.
The defense at home games This is, um, the home games.
They, um, give up 34 points.
They also give up 13 at halftime.
I'll give up 20.
5, and the time of possession will be 26 a half minutes.
So it's kinda maybe about two minutes difference on the all games.
So it's 26 at home.
Also, though, give up 22 carries, 480 for 89 yards.
That's, uh, close toe four right there.
That's pretty, um, so that's not too bad.
So they're going to give up on Lee 89 yards now the when you come down to it now, the passing game they'll put up 400.
Um de pencil give up 4 28.
5 completion percentage.
That's what we're talking about right there.
Now they'll give up 518 yards.
That's on 64 plays.
That's going into a So they're on.
Lee give up less when it comes down to it on 80 place, that's 4 83.
So that's on, um, the offense that's on the offense now.
The defense is kind of our fourth, 43 3, 78 5 18 coming down the pipeline.
So that is some the last three games.
Let's go Over the last three games L issues on one and two.
Alabama is three and zero in the straight up, so the straight up there's three and zero.
And against the spread, their three and zero No, l s U is one and two.
So there, um it's gonna be entirely different.
Now it's gonna get described, will be two and one.
So that's going to be, um, what's gonna happen when it comes down to the the game this Saturday.
So that's in the last three football games now in the conference games, Alabama's 18, in conference games and also against the spread their six and two.
Now, um um, once again, um, they went there four and three.
When it comes down to the conference game, that's against the spread.
But they're three and four in the straight up.
So that's three and four in the strait ups, so Okay, let's give you the last breakdown.
This was against Auburn.
They won 42 toe, um 13.
They had 27 carries, 443 yards.
They also threw for 300 to on 18 and 26 passing.
So that was in the game last, um, and the opponent, Um, and the game against Often.
They gave up 42 carries, 420 yards and also gave up 22 of 38.
They had two turnovers in the game, so Auburn had two turnovers.
Alabama had one turnover in that game last Saturday.
Now else you play Texas A and now now L s U Onley ran for 36 yards.
That's on 25 carries.
Last Saturday, they also threw for 2 31 but they had three turnovers versus Texas A and M.
That's another arm breakdown.
Also, once again.
Um, they gave up 37 calories.
That was against Texas A and M 462 yards and also gave up 105.
So that's what we're breaking down right there.
When it comes down to it when l s u like I said, they they are 27 point favorite, and I think it's gonna probably be, um um I think it's gonna be more because look, when the spreads come out is gonna be maybe it's gonna go down, up.
It's going to stay at 27 but the line right now it's a 28.
So I think right now, to be honest with you, I think this game right here, most likely we get my mic towards me and yeah, so I think once again, this game will be decided.
Look, I mean, if l s u comes out the gate and just don't, um, have you pre snap penalties, have your post snapped penalties that z it.
We can run the ball against this team.
Just absolutely run the ball against this team.
Do not give an inch toe Alabama because they will, um, capitalize on your mistake's because they will cost turnovers they will get, Um that is going to be a a break it.
So once again in these rivalry games, like we have to be more consistent because Alabama is a good team that definitely going to be in the SEC championship? No, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
So, once again, thanks for joining us here for L S u Alabama Game preview.
We appreciate you coming in.
I apologize for my once again.
I don't work like that.
I mean, sure, you're gonna get people coming in here being lots and stuff like that.
But the truth of the matter is look way do it in a professional manner.
We do not do this in a and a um, we don't.
We don't We don't lower foolishness.
So So, once again, I'm sorry for everything that went occurred tonight.
So that is once again, um, everybody have a good rest of your Tuesday and we'll be back tomorrow for the Saints preview.
And so and also will have the once tonight coaches show.
