making the second.
Okay. Good morning.
Welcome to the sports talk we carry with my show for Tuesday, December 1st, we're gonna be going over.
Once again, we'll be previewing Tulane versus Memphis.
Um, Tulane in Memphis will be playing this Saturday morning. 11 a.m.
We will have the game for you on SportsCastr.
That will be audio stream on Lee.
So that is, um, once again, that is part of the plan.
So thanks for joining us here.
We will have the, um, Ryan Silver Field press conference today and also will preview to laying in Memphis.
So let's go ahead and begin.
I'm putting that in for you.
So let me get that up on the screen, and we will have it up on the screen in just a second.
That is we will have the Ryan several field press conference from Monday talking about the two lane Memphis game this coming Saturday.
So let's go ahead and do that.
So we will preview.
That's gonna do that.
Put that in for you guys.
What? Everybody is doing all right.
Hope everybody is doing the right today.
You know, I had a chance to go back and watch the Navy game as a staff that as an individual breaking down all three phases, you know, just really, really pleased with the way our defense played, uh, start to finish.
Obviously, they had that one, uh, trap play the guys for so long yards, but just really pleased with their effort, their execution, especially as we continue to clean up our basic fundamentals to get to where we need to be a Z.
You guys know we're playing a lot of different people on that unit and all those units there.
But we got continue to improve their and then, you know, looking ahead, our offense just consistency, right? Trying to find a way to get in the rhythm, running the football and the certain things were, you know, a guy away on each play that costs with those things.
Obviously, Maybe that's, um, well, time glitches.
But all those things being said, we've gotta continue to find ways to get our offense going and heading the right direction.
But congrats to ride the Paterson special player of the week and then, obviously, Quindel.
Johnson, who had a huge game for us, right? 12 tackles, nine solo, the I n t way No.
We got a great Tulane opponent.
Had a couple of weeks now to prepare for us at their place.
That's how he played there.
I believe the scores 40 to 26.
They took us behind the wood shed and kicked our tail.
Obviously, it was a different year, different time.
But I know our guys were excited about the challenges ahead Facing great.
Too late, Teen Evan.
First question for coach.
How we doing this morning? You doing well? Doing well, eh? So just wanted toe confirm.
On your end, I noticed Connor it there is no longer on the roster.
Do you have an update on just his status with the team at this moment? Yeah, like with a lot of those guys, Evan.
Right now, you know, someone we dio show on our roster that they're no longer part of our program, For whatever the reason is right.
Whether some guys enter the transfer portal, some guys have opted out.
Some guys have taken a leave of absence for personal reasons.
I think this year more than any right where we know we're dealing with 18 to 20 year olds, they're dealing with a lot.
Many of them are, you know, have covert concerns and understand the opt out situation.
We have others that want to transfer and go find a better situation for themselves.
Generally regarding playing time, aan den.
You know, we have other guys.
We're dealing with some mental health issues.
So, you know, again with a lot of these things until a player personally comes out and wants to talk about it themselves, I think it's in the best interest of each individual to keep it that way.
You know, we've We've had a various different things.
We've had guys that were removed from the roster ourselves.
Um, but look, we're gonna keep judging along.
When were we know our numbers aren't what they were beginning the year, but we're proud of the guys who stay and keep fighting, doing things the right way.
I think we look throughout college football evidence.
It's, I mean, everywhere around the country hits.
It's the number, opt outs, number of transfers, and it's going to continue to increase.
I think within the next 10 days, I think you guys gonna be blown away by the number of people in the transfer portal.
I'm talking about all over the country and I think that's what this year is gonna face. Floor. Never.
And I know we've kind of talked about you guys.
You know, Brian's asked about it almost every other week.
You know, roster management is gonna be something that's gonna be quite interesting.
Especially signing day coming up just over two weeks.
It Zuno all those things that got being play.
And now we're still dealing with X's and O's Target, ready for a great tool, a team.
So hey, look, very roll right just to follow up on that.
As you mentioned a few weeks ago, you said, if someone is no longer on the roster, weaken student along on the team.
Is that fair to say at this point, just for now, please.
Yeah, we're so third out listed on our roster at this current moment, they're currently not with the team.
Now that doesn't mean they can't be part of our program, right? There are guys that have opted out that discuss coming back with the program.
There are guys that we've have thrown off the team that are Russia.
We've had guys that have entered the transfer portal.
We've had guys that are taking a leave of absence for mental health on other issues, personal reasons that I don't feel like going into with each individual.
So all those things, Yeah, they're not currently listed on our roster again.
I haven't looked directly at it.
They most likely won't be dressed with to a game with that said.
Now that means that obviously, if something were to happen to Brady, you obviously have some, uh, some depth concerns with Q B.
I think I asked last week.
But just how confident are you with those TVs to say, You know, knock on wood.
It's something that happened to Brady.
Now you're in a situation where you have two guys and appears not eligible.
But two guys who haven't how much gaming haven't had really any gain experience this year.
Yeah, that's part of what it does, And that's a great thing is we've got a great quarterback coach and often scoring and Kevin Jones.
They do a great job preparing everybody, just like all of our coaches.
Make sure we've seen her death challenge all the time this season, right? Different positions I mean, we're I'm sure you guys.
So we had guys that travel that you probably having to stare at the Ross saying, Wait, who is that? What's that name? And we're just, like, with any position, we've got to be prepared, ready? But, you know, I've got great faith in the quarterbacks entire room that will be ready if the number is called Carrie it coach.
Before the game, we had a few guys who virtually graduated.
Man, I'll talk about the academic progress of your team and how many people did graduated on Saturday? Yeah, it was awesome.
You know, it was a virtual graduation that they weren't able to attend.
We did, uh, about 10 days ago.
I can't remember the exact day we actually did a drive by graduation.
I'm sure you guys also that on social media.
So that was all the football players had graduated were able to be out there.
They came through by the car and took a picture with me in their mask.
Something sent home to Mama.
But, you know, proud of those guys.
I don't want to give you the exact number, because I'm not sure.
Plus, we're still waiting on final grades, but we honored them.
You know, I told our team.
I also said I never liked toe point out in front of our team individual honors.
But man, I had them all stand up and give him a round applause.
And that's about a lot of applause that we've had in that team room with quite a while.
So I was quite excited for them.
It's an honor, right? Because you guys well know it's hard enough to be a student, a college student, especially this day and age with everything that's a current on, then be able to play football, the high level at a major university.
So to be a student athlete here to accomplish that and for a lot of the first ones that are family to get a college degree, so just so proud of them.
And what it means is you guys will know it's not just about what occurs on the field to me and I know this along.
Would it answer, Terry? But it's about what occurs off what they do outside those white lines and those guys to go and graduate with a wonderful degree from the university of Memphis.
It means the world to them.
But it also means the world to our staff on kudos.
All those people helped along the way, obviously.
So we're back for another year.
But we wish them all well in their future.
Never. So they'll always be Memphis Tigers.
How's it going this year? I'm going way heard on the broadcast.
That drink didn't travel up with you guys, I guess.
What's just the status of him for this week? Yeah.
So we you know, yesterday we got out and I feel a little bit and he was out there. Move around a little bit.
I think he'll be dated.
Yeah, I know We could have said that last week.
We said the same of your bond.
Obama was able to travel and play a little bit, but we do feel like drink is making the right progress.
And I do expect him to be ready this week.
But there's no promises.
Right? You guys see how they move around on Tuesday.
Full pattern practice, especially that position before I feel comfortable.
Put them in the game.
Just from what you've been watching. No fan.
What? Just things I have to you about this to anything? Well, first off, we know they scored a lot points.
Well, Hall, they're often scored there Was here with me.
Here's our tight encourage at one point.
Excellent offense of mine. Well regarded.
They do a good job.
They got a freshman quarterbacks playing a really high level.
They got talent.
They're able to run the ball as good as anybody in the country.
And he sticks with that.
Their offense winds aggressive, tough titans.
They got receivers.
They're fast and big.
And then if you look in there, d line, um, all around, they got some really employers, right? I believe both their defense events are Senior Bowl prospects on DSO.
You know, that's gonna be a challenge for our tackles and what they're going to try to dio.
They've got experienced secondary and linebackers to get right around, and they're really sounded special teams.
So it's you're looking at a unit.
Uh, it's five and five.
But if you go back and watch your games, they lead and most of their games eso you could tell that they're just as talented as any team in our conference on dear.
Obviously, Coach friends is that one of the highest regarded coaches in the country.
And they're gonna give us everything I have.
But I don't look at them and say, man, we know what they're capable of.
They're gonna bring it all way.
Have a tough task out of us on Saturday morning time.
It could be one of the players and believe that graduated was being is a And you recruited him, you know, coming out of high school.
I've talked about his progression since he's got to Memphis.
And have you learned any more of his his language So that you have the language of Evo? I have not.
You know, it was, uh I don't want to say learning.
It was just recruit recruiting ploy.
Uh, my wife gets on the all time about not learning a language is right because she's it takes, like nine of them in English, being her third.
I'm still trying to learn proper English, but so but now, being a you guys know my relationship with him has been a unique one from the recruitment all the way to getting him here toe his maturation.
He's a mature young man is.
You guys know, uh, that gets it.
Sees the big picture of life outside the football field and just proud of him, right? You think about this.
Here's a young man we talked about what these 18 to 22 year olds go through all time.
Hey, hasn't seen his family, anybody, any immediate blood family.
I believe it's been six years and I couldn't have fathomed.
You know, being a 16 year old and not seeing my parents for six years are assembling.
And, you know, I can really imagine doing it at my age right now.
But a guy of his youth, it had to move across the country seen across the planet and not know anybody and just what he's gone through to a bill endure that his strength.
I think that speaks volumes about his character.
We all know the type of young man in his.
It's proud of Ray's got internship opportunities, and now, to be able to get a degree, I couldn't be happier and more deserving for a young man like himself.
Just in terms of this season and you talk about after 40th your own, you know is, it's don't team.
It's not the 2019 2018, but in terms of what you had to deal with specifically without doubts, with so many high profile players, is it fair to make any type of comparison to two teams of 2018 19? I wish I could, but like I said, you go back and put on the championship game.
And I think when you one of our athletic directors was in my office and I was watching the championship game from last year for Cincinnati, you know, as I was praying for Cincinnati and I had to point out to him who everybody was, except for number three on the field.
You go back and watch the game.
It's a completely different office.
It really is right.
Eso I don't think it's fair Thio be able compare that it's were different roster.
We really are now.
A lot of the same defense players were out there a new scheme.
Like I said, I think you're watching the defense starting to come together and have a better understanding what we're trying to dio coach McIntire his staff and I'm really proud of their growth, but you look on special teams.
I mean, we've lost course special teams, guys allowing that were, you know, three phase special teams, guys that were starters, uh, even as walk ons, they're no longer part of our roster.
So as part of it, and weigh our own deal 2021 year on.
But I think that will always, you know, with staying on merits off.
Hey, this a new season.
And I think we're going to continue to see that Clayton at this progression, right? I mean, I was talking to somebody.
We're talking about this roster management and keeping the core group of fighters because, you know, opt outs are something hopefully only occurred in 2020.
But I think it's the way this transfer thing's gonna work.
It's OK who you able help hold on to Do you have? I don't know if the n I l right.
When when these young memory will start getting endor*****ts.
If that's going to change the grand scheme of things and you know what, we're gonna lose guys toe, uh, more money or a bigger name brand.
These are all things that I've got to continue to explore, and push forward.
But again, I keep giving you guys like, long answer.
I'm trying to answer as many questions as we can because we going forward would be pretty forthright with you guys.
But I can't compare this team to anyone else.
Evan, on that note.
Right? Um, 10,018.
Obviously, you mentioned that game, that frontline of two million.
I believe they had seven sacks in that game.
Among the nations clears this year in sacks and tackles for loss.
Given all this, office of line has kind of kept Brady clean, for the most part.
What kind of challenges does this Frontline present? Because obviously, um, they're just getting out of the Navy.
And this is gonna be just a physical pacing that you lay in front.
I mean, look, they gave us all we could handle seven sacks.
I remember very well.
We got our butts kicked that, you know, we opened the first play of the game.
I believe Evan was a counter play that we scored a touchdown on and, you know, probably shame on us as an offensive.
Too much confidence in the offensive line because we did not hold up while in pass protection, right? They based form after Brady got after our offensive line, that was 100% on me as your life coach.
And then you look at this year and the right what they're able to dio certainly leading the conference in sacks and got some great guys all around their defensive front.
Um, like I said, I do believe our office lines doing well in pass protection, but we're gonna be able to get the run game established in order to not just sit there, drop back pass.
Because if we do, that is gonna be a long, hard day force.
Um, but we've got to continue to find ways to be creative, maybe to get the ball out quicker, uh, do different things.
I you know, I got great faith in our office line to continue to improve that way.
But I do remember 2018 that game.
Unfortunately, really well, what they're able to dio and we know that this defense line is gonna try to be as destructive as possible.
With that, I mean the old line again.
We talked about the run game.
You mentioned how much you taking the person images struggled.
How would you assess them? You know, as far as not just, you know, whether it's not creating holes but just being able to protect Brady as well.
But that's obviously going to be a factor as well as tryingto find holes against this, you know, physical prime suspect.
How would you assess the group at this point? Yeah, Like I said, I think they're pass.
Protection has been pretty solid.
You go back and watch it and you know it's been perfect.
No, no, A logical to have seven pass protections.
I think they've done a nice job in pass pro trying to keep radio right, knock on wood.
But then you you know, you go look in the run game and there's things. That's the details.
Hair there, right? If it may be a guy not be able to get off the double team, that may be a tight end on the backside.
Cut off that. Maybe a receiver.
They're supposed to get the safety and the safety comes down and makes a play for a one yard gain.
It may be a running back, misreading the whole all of those things but the offensive line.
They need to continue to clean up what they're doing in the run game.
And so, you know, I would say I'm not pleased with are run blocking and please with the past question.
Carrie, just for the other side of line coach.
Your defense line.
And they played a very good game against Navy.
You know, it was a very physical game.
What do you do to the middle of the week to make sure they are fresh to go against? You know, this quarterback against Tulane? And do you expect anybody to come off of injury that hadn't played together? An injury? Yeah, areas far.
Let me answer the injury thing.
I think other than drink, you know, he may be dealing with your mind right now.
I would be, uh, would be reminisce.
But I didn't say that a lot of our D line did have ice packs on their shins and knees from all those couples that were occurred on Saturday.
I mean, that navy offensive line, you know, they come off the ball alone hard, and it's a different type of scheme.
Right? Then you go play a team that possibly drop back that So we've got to be smart.
And I mentioned this to you guys two weeks ago.
This is a longest shortest season, right? I mean, this.
It feels like we played Arkansas State three years ago, and so I got to keep our Guiza's fresh that I can, you know with now that most of their school work's done trying to get him up here for treatment, take care of their bodies, make sure the liver and hydrated eating.
And you know, we'll watch the reps in practice, right? We don't wanna be a tired team.
Like I said, two lines coming off now, an extra week or sort of prayer force, and we're coming off physical game.
That was at night that was on the road, all most of our guys.
But I didn't get the mental three.
And on Sunday, just because of travel, you know, I personally, uh, was that's about what time I went to bed was up three hours later.
I'm sure most of these guys were sleeping a little bit Sunday, but we were back to work and ready to roll, so we got to continue to make sure that We're taking care of their bodies to make sure their full go.
But please, with the defense line, I think it's been a bright spot.
Forces here for sure.
Cassie Less classroom.
She talked about how, when the guys who graduated stood up, the team er was probably allowed us.
It has been in a while when it's week after week.
You're seeing all these different things happen with this team.
What's the key to motivating them? And have you seen anyone step up in particular during these times? Yeah, you know, Cassie, it's the one I mentioned this, I think last week post practice.
The motivation has to be a daily deal, and I don't want to sit there.
Would be a Rod Rod guy, but we have to find ways, toe get, keep these guys trying along because they feel the length of the season.
They feel all the adversity that's occurred to seeing all the stuff that's going on and reality body.
It can affect anybody, and I always talk to them.
We can control the control and we can't let our cir***stances affect our attitude or motivation.
And really, what we talk about Cassie as a as a team is finding ways to improve every single day.
Right? Because if not, we'll just go out there and go through the motions.
And we won't like the results on Saturdays.
Eso We just talked about personal improvement, improvement as a team.
How can we get better? Each individual, right? Sometimes we talked to him about motivation.
You know, we have the pictures of families in the back of the lockers and every game Saturday pregame meal.
I talked to them.
I have one of the players stand up and talk about who's in the back of the locker.
Why do they have that? That person in the back? A lot of those people.
What's that? I mean to them what motivates them? You know, you go out there and practice hard for the name on the front of New Jersey and the name on the back of New Jersey, and so it Plus, we gotta find ways. Toe.
Get individuals to make sure they're motivated to go out there.
It has been challenging, that's for sure.
It's not as easy as to say, Okay, let's go roll the ball.
They don't play ball.
Um, and then, you know, I think you asked what Individuals I think you're just seeing it throughout different pockets.
I think one of the guys that we've seen really grow during this time on been impressed with, obviously, has been Calvin offset not only his play on the field, but his leadership abilities.
You know, he's been able to step into a bigger role, and the team believes them and trust them.
You know, You see, you guys like, don't continue to step up, JJ Russell's always gonna quiet leader for us.
Jacoby Francis, Bryan Goodson.
It's just been good to see a lot of those guys, you know.
They believe in the message we're trying to accomplish here, Preston Brady and keep telling a lot.
Have a great day.
Once again, we'll break down the too late.
Let's go ahead and break that down for you.
Let's go over to the Memphis scoring, um, break down the school, but let's go with tonight.
Once again, Medford scores on 33 points a game.
They also on the road.
They score 15 points a game.
That's what they do.
Um, so that's once again they do score their points.
15 points on the road.
But they scored 33 points.
Uh, in all games now in them up in November, going up in November, the last month in November they scored, Um, let's see.
They scored 33 points a game.
Now the green wave.
Let's go over the Tulane green wave side.
We'll pull that up.
Okay? Once again to Lenny scores 35 points at home.
They scored 33 points.
So this is 33 points.
So this is what they score 33.
5 points a game for the green wave.
So this is, um, what we're talking about now, in the month of November, the last, uh, they scored 33 points as well.
So 33 a half points for both teams.
So now Memphis scores the same thing.
Lane scores 33 3.
So that is the in the month of December.
Let's go over to the the running game.
So let's give you the running game, so I'm gonna give you the running game breakdowns.
I'm gonna give you those in a second, give you those running game breakdowns.
I'll give you those.
We'll break those down both teams.
So I'm gonna run those.
Okay? The running game.
Memphis is averaging 162 yards a game, 162.
8 yards a game, also in the rule of the average 95 yards a game.
So that's 95 yards for them now.
Two lane to lane on their runs, the average 224 yards a game.
That's 27 touchdowns, the averaging 5.
18 average now at home.
Too late, averaging 228 yards. Again.
That's what we're breaking down.
So the both of these running games are very good.
So that's one thing about it.
Both of these running games are very consistent When it comes down toe, Um, um, we'll break them down.
So let's go to the passing game.
So let's go over to the passing breakdowns.
Well, give me those passing breakdowns.
I'm gonna put the Memphis one in there, too.
I'll give you that one.
I'll give you the Memphis passing breakdown.
So we're going through all the passing breakdowns.
Okay? Memphis scores averages 2325.
3 point passing yards a game.
They also throw for 272 on the road.
That's what they do.
That's on split stats.
They throw for 272 on the road.
They also in them up in Obama.
They throw for 303 yards, but they have six touchdowns and two interceptions in them up in November.
Now, the Tulane Green Wave, um, has 169 yards passing.
So they're 169 yards passing, 17 scores and six interceptions.
So that was in the games right there.
Um, now, um, two lane, um, in the month of November, uh, goes has 163 yards a game.
That's seven touchdown and two interceptions.
So we'll break down them up in November for the Memphis See, Memphis is at 303 yards.
They have six touchdowns and two interceptions.
So that's what we're breaking down here.
So that's the difference right there.
Seven touchdowns versus two is just a concept.
So I'll be honest with you.
These two teams are going to be, um, very consistent when it comes down to it, so they're gonna be very consistent.
That's just some my saying about it.
So let's go over to the, um, wide receiver game.
Let's give it a wide receiver breakdowns.
We'll give you those.
I'll give you a wide receiver breakdown.
So as we go, so what? Do that? And we'll, um, Let's go to the split numbers.
Once again, um, the wide receiver record, Um, they have averaged 13.
62 yards a game, 13.
6 yards a game, Also in the mouth of the bomber.
That's 303 yards, Um, a pop on the wide receiver corps.
So they got some wide receivers that can, um um that they won't catch the football now for the Tulane Green Wave to land green waves averaging 12.
Um, a catch on the wide receiver corps and also the averaging 9.
Ah, pop in the month of November.
So that is on the wide receiver corps.
Going into the eso, we broke down the both the running game passing game, so we'll break down downs and distances.
We're gonna go down to the downs and distance area.
So we're gonna go to that area.
We're gonna break those on splits down for you.
So I'm gonna go through those splits and we'll go to the first out.
We'll go through first downs on breakdowns.
First sounds for the Tulane Green Wave.
They're averaging 214 1st downs.
Two Lane gets him on runs now the Memphis Tigers average 196 total on first downs.
They get them on passes so they don't get them mostly on their past games.
So that's just what we're talking about here.
They don't get them on their passing game.
They'll get 101 on passing.
Um, now, in the Mup of, um, November, they have 61 1st downs, but they will get him on 33 passes.
That's just the 10 point different right there.
33 passes and 10 runs.
That's on on first down.
Efficiencies now in the month of November for the Green wave, Green Wave had 59 1st downs, but two lane will get him on 32 runs when it comes down to it.
So that's just what we're talking about on first down.
So once again, I would say Matchup wise.
I would say the Greenway would match up on the first.
There are inefficiencies because Memphis gets him on passes.
Now let's go over to the third down.
We're gonna go down the third down breakdown.
Okay, third down we'll go.
We'll put those in third down.
So let's put those in.
Okay, once again, Third down, Memphis at 43%.
56 of 130 attempts.
So it's 43% so it will be good on third down.
So that's just, um, how it is.
Also, they have, um, 40% So there go 40% 1947.
So that's in the buff in November.
So they're 1947 in the month of November for 40%.
So now the Tulane Green Wave, on the other hand, in them up in the bamber is 16 40 for about 40%.
So it's a need s so it's a pretty good, um, match up on the third down.
Conversion, um, side for the young to Lane, um, green wave when it comes down to it.
So that's on third down conversions now on fourth or non fourth down.
So let's go ahead and give you the fourth down breakdown or give you those and see if we can give you those walk down breakdowns.
I'll give you those.
I'm gonna go to those fourth down.
I'm gonna switch it over the two lane, and I'm gonna switch it over to Memphis on fourth down.
So let's go over to the fourth down.
Fourth down conversions.
Memphis is at 61.
9% um, 13 of 21 8 games.
So the in the last eight games of 13.
21 now on the road games, they're two of 6.
So they're about 33% on fourth down on the road now, in the month of November, Um, the Memphis Tigers are at 44% therefore nine, So that's on fourth down.
Conversion is in the month of November.
Now, for the two lane greenway will switch into the Tulane green wave.
Okay, We'll give you once again two lanes at 46% at home at 7 15, so they'll convert on fourth down, 7 15.
Also at home, they're three or five.
So at home there, three or five for about 60%.
So they'll go 60% when it comes down to it now.
Also, that one or two on fourth down conversions.
That's good for about 50% when it comes down to it, Um, in games.
So that is some how they match them up offensively.
Um, in the games.
Um, let's go to the red zone efficiency.
So let's pull those up now.
We'll go over to the red zones.
We'll give you the two lane, and that was red zone breakdowns.
We'll give you those, Aziz.
So let's go ahead and give you those.
We'll start with the Memphis Tigers.
Memphis Tigers right now are 85% 30 or 35 attempts.
There scored 25 touchdowns in the red zone and no only convert.
Six field goals.
Um, there touchdown percentages.
43% now on the road, they'll be on the road there at 71%.
So they all scored three touchdowns and two kicked two field goals on Arm three of seven attempts.
Excuse me. Five or seven attempts.
Five or seven that z good for about 71%.
So that's on five and seven attempts now in them up in November, we'll pull that.
We'll go all the way down to them up in November.
They're 12 or 14 when you look at it there 12 or 14.
Memphis, Memphis has eight scores and four field goals.
So that's eight touchdowns and four field goals in games for the Memphis Tigers when it comes down to it right there.
So that is, um, what were, um, showing on the screens? Yeah, we'll go over to the two lane side.
Okay to Lenny Football two lanes, UM 35 or 41 for about 85%.
They have 29 touchdowns and six field goals.
So 29 touchdowns and six field goals for the Tulane Green Wave.
That's an in the red zone now at home.
Two lanes at 83%.
Um, 15 of 18 11 scores and four field goals.
A lot of them touchdowns and four field goals.
That z a 61% percentage right there.
When? When they're at home.
Now, um, we'll put this up a little bit.
We'll give you a little.
So it's that bomb off.
Drop it a little bit.
So once again in the mop November, Um, there there are nine of 13 2 lanes, have seven touchdowns and two field goals.
So that percentage right now it's about 69.23%.
So it's a good close to a 70% clip right there so that Z in the games for the two Lane Greenway when it comes down to it in the red zone, So that's in the month of November.
Now let's go over to the turnover margins.
Let's go over to that.
That's the main stat we look at every single time for both football teams when it comes down to it.
So we'll go over the main stat, which is the turnover margin.
Okay, Once again, Memphis's turnover margin is, um the margin is too so there at plus two in the turnover margin that Z also on the road there minus one.
So there, minus one when it comes down to it on the road for the Memphis Tigers now involved in November.
Memphis is plus one so there, plus one in the turnover ratio and the up of bomb November.
So that is in the month of November, and the the margin for a game is 0.
33 now for the Tulane Green Wave, they're at plus seven in the turnover ratio, that's plus seven.
So that's pretty good turnover ratio when it comes down to the, um, turnover ratio.
Now they're also plus seven plus zero at home, so there, plus zero at home home.
So that's not too bad when it comes down to it now in them up in November.
Two Lane is that plus five.
When it comes down to the, um, give away take away ratio.
That's what we're talking about when it comes down to the those breakdowns.
So that is, um, give away, take a rate ratio, Um, in the month of November.
So let's go ahead and let's go over to the defense aside, we'll break down the defense aside for you.
We'll break down the scoring defense for both.
Both teams will do that, so we'll break down scoring defense for both teams and we'll and we'll go through the same thing, so we'll go through.
The scoring defense is let's break down.
The scoring defense is okay.
Scoring defense is for Memphis.
Memphis gets up 29 points a game, so they give up 30 touchdowns and they have nine field goals given up in games now on the road, they will give up 28 points a game.
That's 86 points total.
They give up 11 touchdowns and three field goals for the Memphis Tigers.
So that's what they dio on the on scoring defense when it comes down to it.
So we'll go to the Tulane Green Wave.
We'll go over to the to line green waves, so we'll switch this over to be on Tulane Green Wave.
Give me one second to switch it, and I'll switch it over the Tulane Green wave.
So Tulane Green Wave, once again scoring defense gets up 27.
8 points a game as 36 touchdowns and nine field goals.
Also at home, they give up 19 points a game, so that's 19 points a game for the two lane um, defense.
When it comes down to it, Um, that's at home that's at home now.
In the bump in November in the month of November, they give up 21 points.
That's, um, non touchdowns in one field goal.
So non touchdowns and one field goal.
So that's indium in the Games Now, Um, for the Memphis Tigers in them up in November, they average give up 18 points.
That's six touchdowns and four field goals.
So it's a different complete difference right there when it comes down to it.
So, um, Memphis, um, in scoring defense in the month of November matches up pretty well.
So that's just what we, um, are looking at now we're going to go over to the total defense.
We're gonna go over to the total defense.
We're gonna give you that break down as we go.
I'm gonna be putting it in.
So I'm gonna go ahead.
Put that in for both two lane in Memphis.
Let me get this up on the screen.
Okay? Once again, um, Memphis gives up 457 yards of total defense in them up.
That's an all games now on the road that gave up 461 yards on the road.
So That's what they're, um, do when it comes down to it now, in the Mup in November, they give up 291 yards, so they give up 291 yards.
Uh, in the month of November.
Now the Tulane Green Wave, on the other hand, um, gives up 428 yards and all games.
So all games there at 428.
4 at home, they give up 364 total yards now.
There also will give up 403 in the month of November.
So that's kind of, um, stagnated when it comes down to it for the two lane, um, total defense in Memphis.
Aziz Well, but Memphis gives up less.
So that's just a lesser than the average right there.
Now let's go over to the running game run defense.
Let's go over the run Defense is Let's give you those breakdowns on run defense.
I'm gonna go to the defense of stats.
I'm gonna give you those numbers on run defense.
We get those up on the screen for you here.
So we got to run.
We're gonna go run defense and for both.
I'm gonna give you those run defense numbers.
Once again, starting with two lane there that they give up 146 yards.
They also give up 128 173 at home, 173 at home.
Um, now, in the month of November, starting this month, um, ****in November, wearing the new month of December.
And gentlemen Word, but they don't have it out yet.
But Ma November, they finished with 161 yards, giving up on defense.
Now Memphis, on the other hand, gets up.
Like I said, they give up 144 yards.
Uh, total 128 183 on the road.
So 183 on the road.
And also they give up 133 in the month of November.
So that's what we're on breaking down when it comes down to the run defense coming down the pipeline for both two lane in Memphis.
Now let's go over to the passing pass defense.
This will give you the past defense breakdown, so I'll give you those.
I'll go ahead and give you those numbers on pass defense.
I'm gonna give you those.
And second, you know me.
Okay, Once again, we'll start with two lane to Lane gets up 181 yards, um, through the air.
They give up on 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
So that's in the games now on at home to Lane gets up 190 um, yards.
That's four touchdowns and three interceptions.
Now, in the mop of Bomb November 2, Lane gets a 4, 242 yards.
That six touchdowns and three interceptions.
That six touchdowns and three inter substance for the two lane defense now, but a Memphis defense Memphis pass defense.
They give up 313 yards.
Again, that's 313 yards.
They also give up 277 on the road.
That six touchdowns, two interceptions.
So that's six touchdowns and two interceptions.
Also, they give up 158 in the month of December, that is three touchdowns and three interceptions.
That's in the games coming down the pipeline.
So once again, Memphis gives up, I say lesser than the two Lane Greenway defense.
So they're going to be, um, giving up some passing yards when it comes down to it for the Memphis Tigers.
So that's on the past defense.
Um, now, let's go over to the Downs in the distance or go over to the Downs in the distance.
We'll give up the Let's go to the first down defense.
Let's give you that numbers on them.
Let's give you those.
I'm a pull these up for both sides.
I'm gonna go to force down defense.
It will give you those that we'll go.
We'll break those down fire.
Okay, once again to Lane gets up 214 total first downs.
That's on past plays, so they're going to give up 104 past plays on first down.
Now at home, they will give up 70 so there'll be 70.
That's 2041 run plays in 26 pass plays that's at home now for the two lane defense.
In a month of bomb December, they will give up 63 1st downs that Z 30 runs and 29 passes, so they will give up 30 runs in 29 passes to get the first downs now for the Memphis Tigers.
On the other hand, Memphis, um, has 179.
Um, given up on defense, they give up mostly past plays on first down.
Defense's now at home.
No, on the road.
So they're gonna be on the road this week.
Uh, Memphis, um, has 63 1st downs given up, they will give up 33 past place in 27 run place and they only get £3 lease out of it.
So that's in the So that's how you break.
So once again, I'll be honest with you this game, Like I said, this is This is this game right here will be, um, past driven and run driven by both two Lane and Memphis.
So okay, let's go over to the Mup November.
They will give up 41 1st down.
There will be 21 pass plays in 1921 run plays in 19 past place. 21.
Yeah, like I said, 21 run plays in 19 pass plays, so that's gonna it's gonna be on first down.
We'll break down the third down.
We'll go to the third down defense.
We'll go to that.
We'll have both teams breakdowns, and we'll do that.
We'll play the defense of side of the football, and there it is.
We'll have that one, and we'll have this one.
Okay, once again, this is on third down defense.
Third down defense.
Um, they give up 36%.
That's 43 of 1 17, so it's 43 of 1 17.
So that's opponents getting out third downs on against the Memphis defense.
Now on the road, they're at 41%.
That's 17 41 so they'll go 17 41 given up there by the Memphis Tigers.
Now, in the month of November, they'll give up nine or 42.
That's 21% so they're not gonna give up too many third downs when it comes down to it.
So you have toe.
Adjust to that if you you have to get sustained your drives on third downs.
So that's one thing about two lines.
Deep offensive, uh, what they'll have to do with sustained drives.
Now the two lane defense gives up 72 40% conversion rate at 68 of from 1. 67.
now, at home games two lane is, um, 25 or 67 for 37%.
So they'll give up 37% of their third down.
Converse is now, now, defensively.
In the month of November 2, Lane will give up 1953.
That is some 35% 35 a half percent right there.
85% when it comes out to it.
So that's the thing about it.
Look, look, we have toe have mawr consistency when it comes down to those, um, third down conversions.
That's what we're discussing here in this broadcast.
So that's on third down conversion on defense.
Now I'm gonna go through.
Yeah, the fourth down defense.
I'm gonna go through the fourth down defense.
I'm gonna go through those for you.
So let me get that up on my screen.
I'm gonna go to fourth down conversions on defense.
I'll put that in thes splits.
So go splits on this one, and I'll go splits on the Memphis side as well.
So we'll look at the Memphis.
Okay, Memphis once again, is that, uh, 57%.
That's on 12 or 21 conversion.
So they welcome give up 57%.
Now, in the, um, road games, they will give up 71%.
That's 71 a half percent.
That's five or seven on a road game.
3rd, 4th down conversions.
Now, in the month of November, they will go three of seven for 42.8%.
8% says this number right here, 42.
8% on, um, fourth down conversions now for the Tulane Green Wave in the month of, um, November on third down conversions, give 4000 conversion.
Um, there are 13 of 26 for about 50% so they will give up 14, 13 of 26.
So that's about 50% now at home games, we will go through that.
They'll give up 33 a half so that this is gonna be a home game this week.
Now, in the month of November, month of November, there will be at 46 so 46 6 of 13.
So that's not something to write home about, So we have to be more consistent.
Getting off the field on fourth down.
Conversion is so fourth down there.
Um, like I said, they're very, um um Oesterle.
So we have to be consistent getting off the field on fourth down.
So that is the offense.
Defense of breakdown.
So let's go over to the player.
Um, individual players.
We're gonna go over.
The individual players will break down the two quarterbacks.
I'm gonna go through the two quarterbacks.
Let's go through those.
I'm gonna give you those numbers on those two quarterbacks.
Put the two quarterbacks in.
Okay, Once again, we'll go over Brady White first.
Okay. Brady whites numbers.
Right now, he said, 61%.
He has 24 touchdowns, he has six interceptions.
He also throws for 325 yards again.
So that's he's going to be a good um ah, he's been playing all eight games, so his completion percentage is absolutely on through the roof.
It's a quarterback rating is 1 52.3.
So it's not too bad. Now.
Michael Prats numbers Michael Pratt once again.
He has 16 touchdowns and five interceptions his quarterback waiting is 1 35 0.7.
So that's a pretty good number when you come down to it.
7 for brain um, Michael Pratt.
So I'll be honest with you.
Look, here's some quarterback rating would be a lot better with, um, but Brady whites Percentage is a lot better, but Michael Price quarterback rating.
It's a lot hell of a lot better than, um, Brady whites when it comes down to it for the Napa Sires so, but he has 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Pride has 16 touchdowns and five so 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.
So it's a consistent, um, break down when it comes down to it.
Now let's go over to the running games.
Let's go over Teoh running games.
We'll give you the, um, running back.
So go ahead and give you those running backs. Okay.
He has, um, average of 4.
27 He has two touchdowns.
Also, Cameron walk ins is another guy.
He has averaged a 5.
48 so they got some good running backs when it comes down.
And now Brady White will be, um, that initial, um, quarterback.
5, so he's only 1.5.
So he's not a good runner.
So he's, um, once again, he's on 49 carries.
He's only averaging 1.
63 yards a carry, but the rest of the guys Clark, Watkins, Weaver, um, Martin is averaging higher numbers than Brady White, so I'll be honest with you.
Those running backs are very consistent when it comes down to it for the young Memphis Tigers.
Now for the Tulane Green Wave, you got step on Hudson Camp Carroll, Maury Jones, but Todd J.
Spears? He's not playing, so he's injured.
So once again, you have to depend on Carol Hardison and the more E. Jones.
So these three individuals are going to be the the impact er's for the young Greenway.
Um, then you can add in, um ah, Booker Booker is there not a guy that's a dependable running back for the young green wave? So I look at it this way.
This running, running back court that we have is very strong.
We have a very strong running back court now.
Memphis has a very good running back court as well.
So it Z, Like I said, uh, this says between these two, these running backs just some no comparisons when it comes down to it, because they're both absolutely good when it comes down to the running games of both two Lane and Memphis so that it's just some what we're talking about here.
So I'm gonna be going through the young wide receivers.
I'm gonna go through the wide receiver corps, gonna put these up on the screen.
I'll give you the wide receivers for the Memphis Tigers in the Green Wave and we'll give you those.
Okay, Once again, we'll go to the Memphis team.
Um, Austin Galvin.
Austin has 7 17.
5 yard for catchy has eight touchdowns now.
Sean ****s is another guy.
He has six touchdowns.
And Tarik uh, Taj a Washington is another guy.
8 yards per catch tandem.
He also they also have J.
It's another guy.
He's a freshman, so he's averaging 14 catches a game.
And then you got, um, Demand Cox And that a guy he's a senior.
They have some very good.
Um, wide receivers.
When it comes down, thio this situation with Memphis and two lane now for the Tulane Green Wave.
Let's go over to the Tulane Green Wave wide receivers.
I'll go over to them.
You gotta do SWATs Jaquan Jackson fat watts Um Michael Jones, Todd, Rick, James, Todd, Rick James were depending on Todd, Rick James to make some catches in a game.
He has, um, three touchdowns now, but we're depending on him.
I mean, we every time when I see him, um um um, dropping passes like that really just frightens the hell out of me.
That's why we have toe have a consistent Why would receive a court when it comes down to it.
Look, when um he throws that ball, he's gonna want that ball.
He's gonna put that ball where those wide receivers can catch it.
So I think to be honest with you, uh, it could be a a good thing that James can catch the ball and it could be a bad thing if you don't catch the ball.
So that's just something right there to consider when it comes down to it on in those games.
Wide receiver, Corps breakdown.
Eso once again, wide receiver right down.
So once again, I'm going to go over the tapes.
I'm gonna break down the tapes for you.
We'll break down the last game.
I'm gonna break down to Memphis game.
So Memphis and the Navy game.
So we will do that for you.
So and then we'll break down the So let's go ahead and do that.
So I'm gonna put it in for it.
We'll put the tape in, and we'll put it in, so I'm gonna put the tapes in.
Okay? This is in the first quarter.
Um, once again, navy.
Um, Brian, play right there.
Nice Will run play against the, um, Memphis offense.
So they will get a big gain on that run.
So he gets to run so nice or run by warm.
So this is on third and five.
Navy has the ball there in that once again, there in that fullback dive situations.
They will hand the ball off a nice little run right here, so they'll get the touchdown right here so they'll get a touchdown on the on the run up the middle against the Navy.
So that's the biggest.
That's the thing.
That's the thing you have to do when it comes down to it.
That's the thing you have to do.
When it comes down to the situation is this is, um, run the ball effectively against them.
So that's what we have to dio.
Now. This is on first intent.
So Brady White, um, throws a nice or screen pass.
So it's a nice or screen pass.
On 2nd and 10, he will get some yards, so that's going to be on.
That's gonna be the wide receiver number 28.
He's got a good catch to it.
So once again, this is on second and four.
They will throw a pass play, and that'll be a touchdown right there.
So you have tow Avoid that, um, touchdown play coming in because that's just a biggest.
Um, that's gonna be a problem.
So Navy didn't watch what they were doing, so and it was a touchdown.
So, Austin, that young guy Austin gets to catch for touchdowns the second quarter action, Um, maybe, um, I will, um, pass and a nice pass play against the, um, Memphis defense.
So they get a big game right there.
So that's one on the catch.
So once again, this is on 39.
So they're gonna pass right here, so it looks like pass play coming up.
And so that's one thing right there.
Keep in mind is you have to watch these people from coming into those plays that Z that's gonna be a big issue right there when it comes down to it.
So when it comes down to it right there, out.
Okay, this is on 3rd 1st.
So they're gonna throw, so he's gonna throw his past.
He's gonna look for his receiver coming this way.
So he's coming towards this way, it's gonna be looking, throwing to the right side.
So? So that that was a good play.
18 would get the reception that is going to be on.
And they fumbled the ball.
So that's going on 1st and 10.
So that was just, um, what they did.
So once again, if you can get that ball from them, that would help the defense out in the long run.
I don't know why it looks really blurry.
Okay, this is the past flight coming in so that that was the past.
Same pass, play, run, play coming in.
Good defense applied by Memphis.
So that's on fourth down.
So this is the fourth down, and one they would get the first down so they would get the first down.
That would go a run, play on the right side.
So this is on second and eight, second and eight.
They will run the ball against, um, the Memphis Defense of Memphis.
Um, that would get a firsthand give up first sounds right there.
Now, this is the fourth quarter.
They were, um it was tied up a 71 play coming up.
So that's so the defense of play.
I was a defensive play by Memphis.
Good defensive play right there.
So cant aboard that from happening pass play coming up here by Brady White.
He would throw it to its receiving that it's gonna be number five when I catch so they would have to kick a field goal here and that it would be a 10 7 game really low scoring football game.
When it comes down to it on Memphis and Navy, they would run a, um, run the ball right there.
That would be, um this would be on fourth.
They would kick a field goal and they would miss it to the right side.
It looks like it's glory.
I don't know why past plate coming up, and that's going to be a tip pass.
So once again, I'll be honest with you.
This Memphis team right here eyes, um, like I said, they they're very good defensive team.
And also, they can throw the football as well because they got Brady White.
So that's just something to consider.
So once again, we'll give you the So that is the film breakdown about Navy s o Navy game.
So I'm gonna go ahead and give you the breakdown on their point spread, Um, breakdown so once again to Lane and say, um, 1.
5 point favorite in this game.
So we'll give you the key breakdown performance information on them.
So let's go ahead and give you those as we go.
Once again, Memphis, um, in all games, they're six and 22 and six.
That's six and two straight up in two and six against the spread.
There also six and two, uh, in line games and also two or six against the spread.
So they straight up six and two.
And against the spread that two and six now in the last three season, that's an underdog there.
One in six straight up and two and five against the spread and also when points are between 63 70 Memphis is three and three and also two and four against the spread.
So they're two and four against the spread in three and three straight up.
Yeah, now against the conference opponent.
Um, against the conference opponent.
Memphis is, um, four and two straight up and one and five against the spread.
So they're one in five, um, to their one in five.
That's against conference opponents.
One in five and four and two against the spread now playing on Saturday.
Memphis is six and two straight up in 62 against the spread.
Now playing on terp.
Um, Memphis is, um, six and two straight up and two and six against the spread now in the month of December, therefore on 11 straight up and three and 12 against the spread now for the Tulane Green wave as a favorite.
Two lanes five and one straight up and four and two against the spread.
And the last three seasons there's 16 and four straight up and 13 7 against the spread.
Now in home games, UM, two lanes 11 and five straight up and 11 4 against the spread now in line games will go a line game side, um two lane.
In the last three seasons, it's, um, 10 and five straight up in 11 4 against the spread.
Also, one games have played on Saturday.
Lane is six and 25 and two straight up and five and two against the spread.
So that's on Saturday games now playing against conference opponents, um, in the conference game, therefore, and to straight up in six and zero against the spread.
Now, after coming off a loss of a conference rival to Lane is six and six, um, and to laying against the spread is nine and three.
So that's how we break it down now.
So once again, um, to be honest with you, look, if two lane comes out the gate early and often not giving anything toe Memphis just absolutely just keeping the foot on the gas pedal.
I think we can win this game.
I really think we can win this football game.
But we have to play consistent football when it comes down to it.
Because if you don't play consistent football, you will not win this game, period.
And the story Freddy White will just eat you alive.
That's just some my saying on this game.
So I look at it, just wife.
The game is gonna be a point and a half.
So I think it's gonna be baby a 10 point game by halftime.
I think it's gonna be a maybe a 10 point game by halftime, Um, two lane leading at halftime, stuff like that.
But if Memphis comes out early and just, um, dominates the first half, I'm gonna tell you it's gonna be a long afternoon for the Tulane football team.
So they're gonna have to be more consistent this week when it comes down to this game.
So So I'm like I said, I'm very optimistic about this game this Saturday.
I'm very, um, optimistic, But I hope once again, the quarterback situation with pride doesn't go on south.
So once again This concludes sports talk we carry with my show two Lane versus Memphis game preview here on SportsCastr.
