ripping out to you? Hopefully none whatsoever.
And we are live.
Welcome to the title Town Show.
I am your host, Matt Skara and do the middle.
We've got my co host at Sam Daring.
And we have a special guest.
Mr Garrett from Allah.
Garrett, How are you this fine Saturday afternoon.
Oh, doing pretty good.
We got rid of all the kids for the weekend.
Uh, besides, we rearrange the living room.
So that's what I've been doing with my morning.
All right? That's definitely great to hear my co host, Sam.
How is your Saturday afternoon gone? So far? I'm doing well.
They got back this afternoon from visiting my family for Thanksgiving.
So it's been good.
My Saturday afternoon has been great as well.
Let's get into today's topics.
So we're going to recap what went wrong with the Green Bay Packers? As we all know, Green Bay Packers lost 34 to 31 overtime against the Indianapolis Colts last week, which moves their record down to seven and three.
They still hold first in the NFC North, but they fell down to the third C in the NFC and we'll see how they fare right there.
And then we'll talk about the upcoming match up between the Chicago Bears.
And we have a Bears fan, Mr Garrett Air from Iowa, Big Weapon of Chicago Sports and of the Iowa Hawkeyes as well.
Let's get into what went down and week 11.
So I'll start off with you, Sam.
The Packers lost a heartbreaker in overtime 34 to 31.
What what went wrong with the Green Bay Packers? And we collect? Yeah, their defense.
And I remember talking to you about this.
Like after the game.
Mike Patton did such a good job against the Houston Texans a few weeks back because the week before, um, Dalvin Cook went off against us.
My cousins got to go and I was checking.
I don't know if you check with Packers Twitter.
Throughout the game, they were heated.
They were heated, the defense was the problem.
And NBS MBS got death threats that made me embarrassed to be a Packer fan right there.
Um and I mad I've had this conversation with us.
Well, I think we're gonna keep MBS.
Yeah, MBS any of Q and MBS is doing exactly what everyone, every Packer fan has been wanting him to do for so long, and his stats might not jump jump out at you.
But he's making those crucial plays, one bad play, one bad play that I would even say that cost us the game because he got us the overtime I blame or of that loss on the defense.
And I I'm more frustrated with that loss because that game was in our hands.
That game was 100% in our hands and our defense blows the lead and with with the amount of talent that we have, yes, our secondary is in great, but it's certainly developing and it's very promising and we've seen flashes promise.
But the talent that we have, we should be a top 10 defense.
Like the first few games of the season.
We were ranked like top 10 just outside the top 10 and now I think we're like in the top 2020 to 25 range.
If I'm not mistaken, I have to double check.
But Mike Pence has got to go.
Um and I I don't even think the offense is the problem and this whole narrative of the Packers should have drafted drafted a wide receiver.
Clearly, that's not the issue that Z 150 per 1000% the defense, the run defense and Kenny Stills just got cut yesterday from the Texans.
The Packers did work out Tavon Austin.
Um, that would be a really nice And I think Tyler and might be hurt s.
I think that probably played a factor.
He'll be a really nice return man.
I'm guessing we might cut Darius Shepherd, but our offense, in my opinion, has been it was the least of our issues in that game.
We did see a few mistakes.
Obviously the NBS frustration with that.
Fumble that 100%.
But should he have gotten death threats? No, not at all.
He got us over time.
He is the reason that we were in that game and were sent over time.
Yeah, I truly agree.
Well, I mean, you look at the Green Bay offense.
You scored 31 points against the top ranked defense in the NFL that has an offensive green.
I think what we did as an offense was a fantastic job. Granite.
We only scored three points in the second half, which I think the floor has to get better at having a consistent offense from start to finish.
But you scored 31 points against top break defense.
That's impressive in itself and overall, it was just our defense way let down and you're perfectly correct in saying that, Sam.
But we also have to too many too many turnovers.
You can't have four turnovers and beat good teams now.
You could have four turnovers and be Jacksonville because they're just a 11 team.
But if you have four turnovers against good teams like a Tampa Bay or in Indianapolis, that's not gonna let it fly because they have veteran quarterbacks that have been there and done that and know how toe exploit their mistakes.
I think out of the four turnovers that we had when we went to the interception, I think that resulted in even even those three points, points or points.
I mean, that could have been a drive where maybe they could have had something going.
And then of course, you had the botched snap where we were moving the ball down the field at the early point of the game and then Lindsay and Rogers Bosch snap culture cover.
And then on top of that, you know, you're only hanging on by a thread.
I believe we're only up by 11 at this point.
And then Shepherd fumbles the return.
And then, of course, the in overtime.
First playing the game of overtime.
It looked great. Eight yard.
I believe it was eight yard Pastor Jones, and then it was a sniffle little screen pass through the receiver, which work for us all game.
I mean, we I mean, we ran that same play with e que when he did the hurdle, and it was a big game.
We did the same play with Davante.
Adams got two touchdown out of it.
So you do the same play with MVS and it just don't happen.
The defense snuffed it out, and the ball was ripped out of NVs his hands.
Now, one thing I will say, if that was further down the territory, like if we were obviously at, like midfield or maybe the Colts 40 or 30 yard line.
Granted, I would be disappointed to fumble, but I once had been as worried, but because it was the second play of overtime, and we're at our own 30 yard line and envious fumbles when the cult's recovered there in field goal range.
That's essentially the game was over.
So I was just disappointed on that kind of front, and I was over disappointed how we're up at 14 at halftime, and it just seemed like we couldn't generate anything as an office.
And I think this game proved that the Colts are are legit team.
Like I think Sam and I, you and I discussed beforehand.
Whoever wins this game between the Colts and the Packers are gonna be talked about as as a legit team the rest of the season.
That just so happened to be Smaltz.
And now the Colts have have a lot of talk about them, potentially being a team that could make a deep run.
Maybe not the hands down a F C favorites like Kansas City or Pittsburgh, but they're definitely a team that people are going to sleep on, that is for sure, and I'll kind of give you some points.
Garrett, if you watch the Packers Colts game being a neutral fan, what were your thoughts off of that game.
I was more impressed with indie that disappointed in Green because they just they refused to go away in that game, and that shows a lot for the attitude of a team, and that will take you Ah ah, long way in the playoffs because they have definitely been down and out where people would have thought they were down about a couple of games of the season.
They just stay in and refused to go.
And, yeah, I agree with you on the deep playoff run for the Packers.
I just don't have the defense to do it.
And in the kind of show that they came out in the second half and they turned it into a game and he had called luck or whatever.
But they definitely put themselves in a position to win, and we're able to capitalize on the opportunity to say Hmm, yes, they definitely were.
And what me? What may be so disappointed in the second half? Was they legit? The Colts started off in the second half.
They gave the ball to Jonathan Taylor six great times and they started.
I believe it was their own 25.
They moved it all the way down to Green Bay territory.
I was just like, Oh, great.
Now they're deciding to run it And we have probably one of the worst run defense in the NFL and now they're starting starting to move it.
So, overall, let's hope for Green Bay bounces back against this week.
12 opponents foreshadowing than night, Sunday Night Football, one of the greatest rivalries and NFL history.
In my opinion, the Green Bay Packers will face up against the Chicago Bears first matchup this season that they will play.
The next matchup will obviously be in Week 17, but Week 12 coming up between the Bears and the Packers.
The Bears had a bye week last week, but both teams were kind of coming off of either losses or losing streaks.
Look at the Bears.
They started five and one, and they've lost four straight games entering their bye week.
Green Bay, coming off of a devastating loss to the Indianapolis Colts like Sam said had in the bag.
But let it slip away.
Let's talk about the upcoming match up, so let let's go over who we believe on.
The Green Bay Packers is going to have a good game.
I'll start off with with you, Sam from the Green Bay Packers offense.
Who do you believe is going to be the player of the game for the Green Bay Packers? I'm gonna go Erin Jones on this one.
Um, and obviously, like I do think I was telling you about this before we went on there.
I think out of all the teams in the end of the North, I think the Packers and the Bears fair of the best with each other.
I heard that I should say the Packers fair the best with the Bears because the bear struggling offense versus the Packers struggling defense, the Packers top notch offense.
Yeah, we don't have like, elite receivers outside of Davante Adams, but there's still I mean, Rogers has proven time and time again now in the dark, for example, that we don't need a great receiver to be, um, in elite offense, a top notch offense versus arguably, in my opinion of top 10 defense.
But they don't have any Goldman, and there's been certain games throughout the course of the season for the Bears that they run defense has struggled on.
I think we could.
I think they're gonna potentially take advantage of the run game earlier on.
But I think the secretary for the Bears is very underrated.
Jaylin Johnson is having a very impressive rookie campaign.
I think over the first few games of the season, hey was one of the highest rated rookie corners.
Um, I think he's like he's playing better than Jeff Okuda right now because Jeff Okuda has been on and off all season.
He's been he has been beat.
Um, I don't know, because I've seen plays and I don't know if it's place where he's just he's not fast enough or he doesn't open up his hips and anticipate the routes.
Um, quick enough to the receivers as quick enough to the receivers ability to to the with the ability of the receiver, I should say.
But I'm gonna go Erin Jones on this one.
I don't think I don't think there's gonna be anyone in this on our offense is gonna go off, but I think Erin Jones is going to stand out.
Definitely makes some good points that I want to go.
Ask the Bears fan Garrett, Who do you think the Chicago Bears kind of defense should fear most on the Packers office.
It has to be Aaron Rodgers.
I mean, I realized it's kind of the easy pick, but I disagree with Sam on the run.
I think the Bears have been pretty good against the run, and their only hope toe win this game is to stop the run and make Aaron Rodgers throat, which is a 50 50 proposition at best.
I mean, you can still definitely boost the game that way.
But Rodgers, I mean, look at the Tampa Bay game and even at points in the end, the game.
If you put all the pressure on him, he can be forced in the turning the ball over, making some bad decisions.
I mean, it's not a guaranteed thing.
That's pretty much the only hope the Bears have.
It's the key on Erin Jones and not make them throw the ball, Uh, at least twice.
Much as they run.
Oh, it's good, I think.
I think the Bears come out and put this game on Aaron Rodgers and make him have a game, definitely some good points there for my offensive player of the game.
I love the point you guys made.
I am gonna also go with Garrett and say, Aaron Rodgers, I mean, the reason being is kind of, you know, just Rogers has to play great.
He played good again.
He played good against Indy, not get him there.
But I think everything kind of relies on Aaron Rodgers from that offense.
Granted, Erin Jones.
He's a fantastic piece of the offense.
So, Sam, I I would think if I had to pick another player, Aaron Jones would be the next option.
But I just think from the top perspective, everything goes with Rogers.
If he can get if he could get it going, if the offensive line can can shut down that that Bears front.
I think Green Bay is in for a great game.
But, like Garrett said, if the Bears defense could apply pressure to Aaron Rodgers, we've seen in instances against Tampa Bay against Minnesota and even against Indianapolis.
If you apply pressure, you know they're gonna find a way to rattle Rogers.
So I think for Aaron Rodgers, he's even my offensive player of the game and he just has to show some great promise, some great poise in the backfield, and hopefully he could deliver some good dimes like like he normally does.
Weekend and week out, let's move on to agreement Packer's defense of side of the ball, who we believe will have have the most impressive game from the Packers defense.
I'll start off first by saying my my defensive player of the game for the Green Bay Packers is gonna be the Darius Smith.
I feel like Za'darius Smith needs to have a good game.
Robiskie is coming back, but I think with almost any quarterback, if you don't have any pressure and you could get into a rhythm, you know they're gonna be in for a good day.
If the agreement backers defense can get in there, pressure Travis Key make him uncomfortable.
Kind of make them move them around.
Make him throw passes quicker than anticipated.
I think Green brazen were for a good day, so I'm gonna go with Za'darius Smith as my defensive player in the game, and then I'll ask, I'm gonna go with the special guest.
If you are the Bears offense, who would you not want to have a great game on that Packers defensive sizable? It's gonna be the D line, and I don't really care which one of them sets up.
But somebody, it's anybody on the D line steps up or the D line as a unit and keeps Strabinsky contain and blows up the run game, which in all, honesty isn't really a tall order concerning the shape of the Bears offensive line.
But as long as the D line steps up, performs this game is gonna be a really rough game for the Bears to win and be just kinda just cause Strabinsky the reason he's starting.
I mean, obviously there's the injury, but he's a lot more mobile than pulls.
So with the holes in the offensive line, they're hoping for a biscuit can move around and flute sax and make plays happen.
So the D line just has to stop that from happening.
We'll definitely see what that happens there.
Then I'll close it up with you.
Sam, Who do you believe is gonna be your Green Bay Packers defensive player of the game before I answer that question? The Detroit Lions have announced today that map attrition and Bob Quinn had been relieved of their duties, So Matt Patricia is fired.
I obviously expected this to happen.
I didn't expect them toe wait.
I expected them to wait until end of the season.
But I like to move.
I'm pretty soon.
They're just going to go with an interim guy for the rest of the season.
But yeah, Matt, Patricia is out.
GM Bob Quinn is out s o.
Now the Raiders have built that team bringing in Patriots scheme players.
Eso that's gonna be an interesting team to watch.
See who goes in.
Um, Golden Atlanta's the head coaching job over there.
I think it should be an offensive minded coach, but I'm gonna agree with Garrett and the D line.
What? We're gonna say something, right? That that really surprised I didn't expect that happened in season.
I figured it was gonna be an interesting offseason, but yeah, that's yeah.
W g M in your head, coach in the middle of the season.
That's definitely a statement moved by the ownership.
I'm gonna go with the D line.
Kenny Clarke, um, the bears have dealt with, um I'm not mistaken.
Bobby Massey was on the I r.
Matt and I remember him very well.
Um, traded up for him in the second round from the Mistaken, Um, he was on the covert list.
I think this was like as of like november 5th, I haven't checked step since.
The Bears have have a lot of the ninth most ninth most *** in the NFL under their offensive line, and David Montgomery last season showed a lot of promise.
Andi he struggled against top defense is and one of the games that stood out was the colt.
But I'm gonna go with the line.
Um, and I'm gonna go specifically Kenny Clarke.
Definitely some some good points there.
And But before we move on to to the bear side, samu brooks out some big news about that.
Patricia and Bob Quinn being relieved of their duties for Detroit.
Let's kind of let's kind of get into that a little bit.
Obviously, Sam, you said your your thoughts, your thoughts about it.
I believe it's a good move for Detroit.
I think Detroit finally did the right thing and relieve them of their duties.
Obviously, as as all of us are from the north, were a little disappointed because Detroit actually did the right thing for the first time in their franchise.
So maybe maybe they're They're on there on the upswing of some sort.
But I think I think it's something good for Detroit.
Maybe that could be a sense of them blowing it up.
Maybe they look at it and say We relieve the head coach and the G m.
You know, we're not going anywhere this season.
I kind of want to throw in the question.
Do you think that means key veterans like Matthew Stafford could be on their way out the door during the off season? But then whoever wants to answer first came here.
I would say there's a very strong possibility in that.
It kind of sucks with Stafford because I think he's a really good quarterback and you've just been listed in Detroit.
But you see the same thing with the Bears and, ah, lot of teams, new GM especially, and even new coaches.
At some point, they like that their guys in.
So I definitely see this being a full bloom, tear down, rebuild it, expect him not to be good in 2021 Nick moves, make some trades, do some drafting and come out with the goal of being, uh, contender for the division in 2022.
Yeah, and I think they should have.
I think they should have traded Stafford when they had the chance.
I mean, there were rumors even last year when they could have potentially went out and got Herbert from them for a draft.
Herbert on Lions traded Stafford right before or even during the draft.
Um, anything quite a few years ago.
Why did then even like the start of map Patricia's time in Detroit? Because, like, this works team, that mathematicians worker, this is the best defense that he's worked with ever.
And you're bringing in all these guys from Patriots scheme.
And I've talked about this with Matt.
Matt, Patricia, I think of the hottest seat in the NFL.
I obviously, if you disregard Adam Gaze because everyone knows that, um, gazes on the hot seat all the time.
But if you disregard Adam gays, I think Matt Patricia is the hottest seat in the NFL.
I do think there is a possibility we do see Matthew Stafford in trade bait.
I wouldn't be surprised shortly after the season.
Um, if we start seeing rumors maybe potentially not have not happening, but we might see Matthew Stafford trade rumors heat up.
But I think if the lines are smart, they go out and get in a fence.
Offensive minded coach Andre that quarterback position.
I definitely agree with that.
I think that will be an intriguing one to watch on d N F.
C North is continuing to be competitive, though, because the Bears aren't terrible.
I mean, the Bears one what? Seven and nine with a top defense and a struggling missed Robiskie.
Um, and the Vikings have Dalvin cook.
But, I mean, I think that I think Stafford's the best.
The second best quarterback in the understand North.
I'd much rather have Stafford than Kirk Cousins, but yeah, I mean, there gonna be something, I think there.
What's that? Yeah, I'll take Stafford over because seven days a week points on Sunday.
I mean, we've seen you see a lot more inconsistency and Kirk than you do have.
Stafford and I remember the Lions posted a video of Rogers um applauding and praising the talent of Matthew Stafford.
He said that there's one quarterback, his he's very talented He's so good and he goes on notices because he's on the Detroit Lions, he says.
Matthew Stafford S O.
I mean, Matthew Stafford might be another big name that's going to heat up in terms of the quarterbacks, but I would be too surprised that they stick with him.
I think they should have traded him when they had the chance.
Yeah, I definitely agree that as well.
Even I was watching the Thanksgiving game.
I saw him, Matthew Stafford throw from his own about 25 the ball carried all the way to the Texan 30 yard line.
It was an incomplete pass, but I'm just like God.
If that were Pat Mahomes, Rogers or Wilson sling in that throw they would be talking about.
But because it's Stafford and he's on the Lions, that really isn't anything they could do.
In my opinion, I felt they should have traded Stafford about two years ago.
I remember when when they had the eighth pick in the draft, I kind of threw out a crazy scenario.
What if the Detroit Lions trade Stafford, trade Stafford and draft Haskins with the eighth pick? Honestly, we know Haskins now is it really a good quarterback now? But like before, when he was all the hype, I'm like Detroit's not really going anywhere in this division.
Why don't they just sell? Sell? Now get there, get there Q B at eight, you know, take a couple of years to build with the quarterback, gave him the weapons and see what happens.
Obviously, we know.
With the eighth pick, they decide to take T J Hawkinson, which has shown good flashes.
But last time they drafted, tied in the first round is Eric Ebron, and we all know how Eric Ebron turned out the lines.
It was a disaster, didn't really work out well.
Goes to Indy, has a phenomenal year, fails me again, goes to Pittsburgh and he's having a okay year in Pittsburgh.
But you know, we'll see what.
What Detroit does is definitely gonna be interesting now that they're GM and head coach is gone.
And, you know, I feel like Lions fans, if there are, if there are any, are probably ecstatic because now that leaves an opening for potentially Eric B.
Enemy, which is probably the biggest name for a head coaching head coaching job available.
That's just now another team open.
You know, he could either possibly go to Atlanta and have Matt Ryan as his Q B possibly go to Houston and have to.
Shawn Watson has his Cube chargers.
Yeah, maybe if Anthony Lynn gets fired, fancy Lynn gets fired, go to the Chargers and have Justin Herbert.
Can you imagine Herbert and the enemy with how good that offenses charges could be a legit team? Also, if the Jets decide toe make the best decision in finding dates, you have the Jets open, and now you got Detroit.
Detroit's one of those teams where maybe they might look at.
Maybe they might look at themselves and say, Hey, if we get a new head coach in there, if we like a guy and the enemy, we keep our same offense.
We got Stafford and Golladay fully healthy.
They could make a run.
So it'll be interesting to see what what Detroit does, not what they do in the off season, but that just made their offseason Ah, heck of a lot more interesting now that they fired their head coach and GM now rather than prior to prior to their their season ending.
They also have Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones up.
I think they're smart.
They keep Kenny Golladay.
Marvin Jones was Marvin Jones was his name is popping up all over trade deadline.
I think I don't remember if I talked about him here, Matt with you.
Otherwise, my other podcast, Um, potential packers trade deadline targets being Marvin Jones.
But Marvin Jones was, um, Marvin Jones.
Name was popping up in trade deadline targets about a month ago.
I mean, yeah, Kenny got it.
Has struggled to stay healthy this season, but Kenny Golladay, in my opinion, is the second best receiver in the North.
I would take Kenny Golladay over Adam feeling Kenny Golladay and DeAndre Hopkins are two of the few receivers in the NFL that can put up elite numbers with not, they're starting with their starting quarterback, not throwing the ball.
Kenny Golladay had David Blough Um, DeAndre Hopkins had at one point Brandon Weeden throwing the ball and he's still putting up those elite numbers.
I think they're smart.
They keep Kenny Golladay.
Canada, I think, is their long term answer.
Their future of their wide receiver position.
Um, and I think that's potentially because we've seen my I've seen plenty of marks off the Lions taking John Mark Chase, and I think it's all.
I think a lot of that wide receiver position is gonna depend on who they keep.
I don't see them keeping both.
I think they're gonna sign Kenny Golladay.
That's a question for you don't know how much you guys are on Twitter, but do you think it's before after the Packer game that Matthew Stafford to the Bears campaign starts on Twitter? Wow.
Yeah, it happens every time a quarterback is even potentially.
Maybe a trade piece Bears are using this guy.
I mean, not there's organization E.
I would, I would say, I would say after the Well, I think it depends.
I mean, if somehow some way, there's a travesty flashback of 2018, and he just looks like a different beast where the Bears fans might like.
Okay, we'll give him another game.
Maybe you have another channel, but if he's struggling, if he's struggling like first or second quarter, I think you might see the halftime games like, Hey, why don't you treat it to first for Khalil Mack while you trade.
Maybe maybe some some draft picks.
And, like, a player and go get Stafford and then boom competing trick killer Mac.
No, I'm saying they traded.
Oh, yeah, I'm sorry.
Why not? Why not just say what? A player e would not have been sitting here calmly if he was suggested trading Khalil back e themselves.
But it will be interesting off season, but for the Lions And I think a lot of pieces.
What you think, Sam? Do you think Stafford to the Bears will be calling at halftime? We're in the game, or I'm going to say after I mean, look at the As soon as after the Packers drafted Jordan love, we were seeing Ope Aaron Rodgers to the Patriots.
All barren Rogers to the Chicago Bears.
Eso e It's not gonna happen.
What's that? I personally hate Aaron, uh, to the Bears.
I don't want him.
You want a young quarterback? Don't.
Yeah, that And I just don't like Rogers.
You, Eric Gerson me like Rogers because Eric e, this is understandable because sometimes on the on the sideline, he does have a little bit of one.
But it comes the one where I finally enjoy it.
Especially, you know, he's just picking apart.
Defense has left and right.
Let's go into the Chicago Bear side of things.
Look at the Chicago Bears going in this game, obviously.
Ah, lot of a lot of non Bears fans.
Father Bears record of a five and one and like their total from they be Giants, they be the choking Falcons.
Let's see, who else will they be? They beat Detroit because their rookie, DeAndre Swift, dropped the ball.
And then they They're one big game was against the Colts, and they faltered against the Colts.
Way did beat Tampa back it when everybody thought the Bears air back every thought the Bears air back to 2018.
Forum was against Tampa Bay when they made Tom Brady looked like a fool, and you do the fourth down when, when he said his his fourth down, when the game was over, everybody was like, Oh, dude, this is it.
I mean, part of their friends, like, Yo, we just beat Tom Brady and Soldier Field.
The Bears are back baby party like it's 1985 were back, baby And then on top of that, they beat the Panthers, 23 16.
Like, Yo, let's go five and one and the Packers just got demolished by Tampa Bay.
We're back, baby.
And then **** hit the fan.
Go up against the Rams on Monday Night Football.
There were probably two plays where, if false, hits it on the money.
Bears probably scored two touchdowns as different game.
They lose that one, and they're like, Okay, you know, five and two.
You can't can't win them all.
You know, five and two is okay, go up against the Saints, losing over time to the Saints.
I mean, probably the Bears friend from Texas, and you're like, all right, you know, it's tough five and three, But it's the New Orleans Saints here.
There's still a good team, but the last two losses.
Tennessee in Minnesota.
I mean, you look at the last three Bears.
Losses have been by three points, seven points, six points.
Look at the Bears air right there just now.
They're five and five.
They have their bye week.
Now they're preparing for the Green Bay Packers and let's go into the the the offensive side of the ball.
So I'll start up with you, Garrett.
Who do you believe will be the Bears offensive player of the game? Uh, will be or has to be to keep the bears in the game.
Uh, just we'll be in general, gives them the best chance to win the game.
Um, it's gonna have to be Strabinsky.
Uh, the Bears don't have an offensive line that's not going to change.
And with Robiskie be more mobile.
He's just he's gonna have to have a hell of a game.
He's gonna have to get outside.
He's gonna have to make throws David get better in this game.
So, yeah, this one's gonna be on Mitch that.
Yeah, there's gonna wintertime his play this week.
We'll definitely what I would say.
What about you, Sam? From the Packers defensive side, Who would you be the most fearful of of having a good game for the Bears? I I agree with Travis Key, but there's one matchup that I think should be talked about.
That's Ellen Robinson versus chair.
Alexander and I think Alan Robinson is playing very well this year, and I think it's going unnoticed because of the quarterback situation.
He hasn't He hasn't had a good quarterback.
The second he stepped foot on an NFL field he had black board was stolen from the ball in the A F C title game.
His his career, his first in 2015.
He put up, had 1000 yard season and the Jakes went five and 11.
And was it last year? Yeah, Last year he broke 1100 yards and Alan Robinson, I think, is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL, and his town goes unnoticed.
Allen Robinson is up for a contract.
I've heard I have had one or two friends tell me they think he's gonna leave for a better quarterback situation.
I think the Bears would be stupid to let him walk.
I agree. I think it's gonna be mixture.
Basically, the guy they're gonna have to rely on playing Well, I mean, I mean, from the looks of bears, Twitter, it seems like they got what they wanted, right? I mean, they wanted everyone wanted Mixture basically playing.
They wanted full benched.
I've seen it both ways.
And Nick Falls, Nick Foles was hurt.
I think two weeks ago, right? Yeah.
He didn't practice this week, right? Um and they assumed, is the bears traded for Nick Foles? They were saying, Oh, but it's looking like they're not gonna keep them for the long or pick up Stravinsky's fifth year option.
Um, but yeah, I mean, off season stuff could be stuff, another conversation.
But I also have Robiskie.
However, don't overlook the Allen Robinson versus J.
Yeah, the only thing I have to say that it's to business guy give himself more than two seconds in the pocket if he wants.
If Alan Robinson is going to be a factor, because no, I agree with everything you said Arab definitely underrated.
I unfortunately, I'm in the group.
I don't think he's coming back to.
The Bears had an opportunity to extend him early in the season, and they did not.
So there's a little bit of bad blood there.
I think I don't have anybody inside the Bears locker room, but that seems to be the general consensus.
So you had no Iraq could have a breakout pain that comes back to whether or not too risky can by himself.
Time to throw the ball to him.
Definitely good points there.
I'm gonna go with the wild card in there.
We'll go with the running background.
Go. David Montgomery.
The reason being is because the Packers run defense is just atrocious, full on mediocrity at its finest.
In my honest opinion, the Green Bay Packers run defense there on Lee.
Good game, in my opinion, that they have had as a run defense was probably against the Texans in Week seven.
Every other team that has played us has had a good running game.
Dalvin Cook twice.
Obviously, we know what Dalvin Cook has done to the Packers, even in the Detroit game, week to in the first half.
They look like they're run the ball down the field very well against us.
Obviously, the Saints Alvin Kamara had his career game, and then we look at Atlanta.
Todd Gurley scored two touchdowns on us.
Obviously, Tampa Bay, we know, is what happens with the Tampa Bay.
I mean, if I were throwing another game, maybe San Francisco, that the run defense did well because I mean, but that was because they put us, didn't have anybody.
The Niners pretty much had the starters and most of the second string hurt.
And then other than that, that was about it.
I mean, Jacksonville there, undrafted running back.
Robinson did some damage, and obviously we saw what the Colts did.
They did some damage as well.
So I'm going with David Montgomery, just just for the fact that the run defense has has not been good all year.
They've had bright spots, maybe about two or three games this year, and we look at the Bears.
They got David Montgomery to recover it.
If they could get a run game early in this game, the Green Bay Packers could have problems now.
I don't think the Packers offense is a problem, because I mean, you scored 31 points against the top defense in the NFL.
You know that your offense is perfectly fine.
It's just the Achilles heel year in and Europe the last two years for the package.
Our Achilles heel has been the run defense.
I mean, how did the Packers lose the attitude championship in last year? Because the Runde, how did we lose to most of these teams because we'll run defense? What's the main problem with agreement.
Packer's defense this year run defense on defense has been the old the old slogan for the Green Bay Packers.
And if this run defense concertos Oh, up and have a legit have a great game from start to finish, not just the first half, not just a quarter from start to finish, then maybe this defense could could propel us on a deep run.
Now, I personally think that we're gonna go.
We're going to play off run.
I mean, I wanna be surprised if we make it to, you know, division round of championship game.
But if you want to make it to the upper echelon to a Super Bowl, it potentially hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
This run defense is gonna have to step up.
And I think this is a game where the run defense needs to step up big and has to shut down David Montgomery.
Or else it's gonna be the same song and dance.
Green Bay Packers get the win, but the run defense is still a liability, like it has been all season.
So I'm going. David Montgomery.
Just because of how much of a problem are run defense has been all year.
Let's move on to God.
Jump in real quick on that.
Yeah, just it's gonna come back to the D line like we were talking earlier because my memory is currently ranked 31st in the NFL for yards before contact and 13th for yards after he has 145 yards before, 208 yards after.
So it's just it's not gonna depend on how fast the defense of Blind could get to him, because if you get two yards before he gets hit, he's gonna be averaging 56 yards a carry.
If he keeps getting hit two yards deep like he has been, he's still gonna be getting six yard runs.
But he's only gonna end up with positive in order to.
So that's gonna be a big factor on how you run defense reforms is how quickly they get them out of memory because you let him pitch toe.
The line of scrimmage is untouched is dangerous.
Yeah, he definitely is a dangerous back.
We'll see how the Packers run defense handles them from there.
Let's go on the defense of the ball for the Chicago Bears.
I'll start off with you, Sam, on that Bears defense, Who would you be most concerned with? That could potentially breakfast game for the Packers offense.
I mean, to me, I don't think this one's hard.
I think it's clear back.
Um, I think another guy that has I feel like he's been heating up in training camp in terms of if they want to pick up his option.
But he's actually played pretty well this year, and that's real Kwan Smith.
But I'm gonna go with Khalil Mack here.
I feel like that This isn't hard at all.
But if we had to go with pick a guy not named Khalil Mack, I'd go rock on Smith.
But I think the pass rush could, um, potentially cause a liberty chaos.
But we've got the best left tackle in football and one of the best past protectors in football, Um, at his position, and David Bakhtiari eso and Elton Jenkins has been nothing short of impressive.
Throat is, um, in his second year, but I'm gonna go with Khalil Mack here.
I'll then ask the Bears fan.
Mr Garrett, I'm a good I'm sorry for the bears defense to step up and stop Aaron Rodgers.
Who's gonna be the key beneficiary toe doing? I'm gonna go Jaylin Johnson Just cause Aaron Rodgers just like him. There's no disguising.
There's no denying his talent and just his football mind.
And it doesn't matter what Khalil Mack does if the secondary isn't keeping his options limited and taking away options for where he's going to throw the ball.
So, I mean, I definitely think that Camille Khalil back could have a better stat game.
But the only reason Khalil Mack or any of those defensive linemen have a good game is that Jaylin Johnson, the rest of the secondary keep passing options limited for Rogers and forced him to making the bad throws where he stacks mhm.
Definitely good points there.
I am going to go with a different player.
I'm gonna go with a Jackson.
I'm gonna go with Eddie Jackson just because I mean, obviously we know the freak of nature that that Khalil Mack is.
I mean, the Bears traded two first round picks and gave them the biggest extension for a defensive player known to man before Aaron.
Donald one up there.
So obviously Khalil Mack is gonna have a great game.
I feel like people besides Eddie Jackson.
It would be Khalil Mack, but I'm also going to kind of take the approach of what Garrett said.
The secondary has to be key as well.
I mean, obviously, if you pressure Aaron Rodgers, you know you're gonna have yourself a good game.
But what if you still pressure Rogers and he's still delivers perfect throws because the secondary is bad, then it's like, Okay, you get Russia quarterback cool, But Roger could get it quick out of his hands, maybe a short, short, 23 yard pass.
But that short 23 yard pass could turn into a gain of eight or 10 yards.
That's first downs moving the chain dollar field, and who knows what happens there.
I want Eddie Jackson just because I expect the Bears to double Davante Adams because that's pretty much the only received that we have.
Obviously, you know Alan Mazar Marquez about us gambling.
They showed flashes.
They showed great flashes, but they're not really feared receivers like Davante Adams.
Like Davante Adams in my home of the pain is the top three receiver in the NFL.
You can't name me three other receivers.
Besides putting into bottoms.
Like my humble opinion, it goes Hopkins.
Then you gotta put Davante Adams in that conversation and that Number three in my arms of being is wide open because those two receivers, Hopkins and ABS, they make it happen no matter who the quarterback is.
Even when Davante Hines didn't have writers, we kind of saw him come on with Brett Hundley, Brownlee for for for a little bit during that 2017 season.
So you know that's that.
That's kind of how I feel about that.
And you know, if if Eddie Jackson has a great game, if he finds a way to shut down Devante items, then it throws a fork in the plan for the Packers game plan.
And we've seen when the Packers game plan doesn't work, they kind of seemed to falter a little bit.
I mean, are lost to Tampa Bay.
When Rodgers, through those two interceptions in Tampa, scored 14 points, it looks like our game plan was through the window.
It looked like the game was over half time and then against Minnesota when the game plan didn't work to stop the album Cook, we ended up losing that game.
But then the game plan worked well in the first half against Indianapolis.
But something changed in the second half, and big game playing the second half and half of them.
So this is the game to where if Eddie Jackson finds a way toe boil up the plan and and contains Davante Adams, then the Green Bay Packers offices in the world of hurt, because if the Monte items shut down the other receivers, Aaron consistent, they've showed good flashes but not consistent.
And then, if that pass rush gets to him, it could be a recipe of disaster for for the Green Bay Packers.
But I love all you guys choices.
I don't think you go on with Khalil Mack.
I don't think you go along with Johnson, either, so I mean, I'm gonna be a good game.
I think it would be a close scoring game.
And let's kind of move on to our our honest opinion on whether our teams are going to win or lose.
So I'll ask the Bears.
Van Garrett, what's your honest opinion about the Bears? Do you think the Bears have a chance toe win? This game or do you think they're just going toe? Lose loses? I think they're gonna lose.
I haven't seen a spread yet.
Uh, if it was like if you give me a 10 or 12 point spread, I would get the Bears to cover.
I just I don't really see a way forward for the Bears to win this game.
That the play calling.
There's issues with the play calling, and Nagy stepped away and handed it over to the O.
And that really appear to fix anything.
Verse the Vikings because the offense only put up six points and too many holes in the offensive line.
I don't really care who you have a quarterback when you can't block for him, and it's the same thing with Montgomery at Montgomery.
He's a really good back.
But when you're getting hit two yards deep every time you're handed the ball, it's kind of hard to have a productive day.
UH, scores, Uh, probably like 28 20 or like 35 21 somewhere in there, where because the Green Bay defense is a gorilla isn't great by any means, and I think the Bears will score some points I just don't think it will be enough to win the games.
And the point spread right now is great.
Bakes favored by minus 9.
5 as as as of right now, where where it stands on Saturday afternoon.
The point point spread right now is minus 9.
Packers are favored by all.
Then ask Ask you.
Oh, you're before I asked if Sam thinks that the back of the Bears have a chance to win Garrett, the Bears win.
If the Bear somehow win this game on Sunday night, what's gonna be the reason why they when they win the game on Sunday night? If they dio, it's gonna be the offensive line remembering how to block right? That's about the only thing that could happen in Travis Travis Key in Montgomery are both gonna have to have really good games in order for the Bears to win.
No, I don't see it happening, but if the offensive lineman they don't even have to be great if they could just get Montgomery to the line of scrimmage and let him do it but hit his talent, take over after that and give Robiskie you know, like four seconds to throw the ball.
Then the Bears could definitely be in.
I'll then ask Ask you this question, Sam.
Do you think the Packers can win this game on Sunday Night Football against the division rival Chicago Bears? E think they dio? And I think it will be, um e think it.
I think I'm really interested to see how they fare up well against the against the Bears defense.
Because the Bears defense has shown plenty of flashes, their secondary is definitely, I think they're very underrated.
Jaylin Johnson has been one of the most impressive cornerback rookie corners in this draft class.
I think I think the Packers win this game and I'm gonna go 27 to 17, 27 17.
That's definitely a good score.
I honestly think the package could win this game as well.
Packers Air, 73 But coming off a tough loss against the Indianapolis Colts, I think if the Packers won to maintain conversation of being potential the number one seed, I think this is a must win game, not from the standpoint of making the playoffs.
Somebody's gonna make the playoffs 100%.
But if Green Bay wants to have a chance on getting the number one seed in the NFC with its gonna be hard to get because obviously you're you're the third seed right now.
Look at the Saints are 18 to They look good.
Even without Breeze.
Even without Drew Brees would Taysom Hill in there.
He looked great as a key. Be as well.
We saw how good the Rams looked and if the ramp and keep it up and they could somehow win the NFC West.
We already see that they have the tiebreaker against us.
So Green, based, essentially in a situation toe where these final six games of the season, if you want a chance with one seed, you pretty much gonna win every single one of them.
And and for Green Bay, you have some tough games coming up.
You got division rivals twice with the Bears alliance who always play a tough You got Philadelphia granted, Philadelphia's banged up, but we said that last year when the Packers played the Eagles and Week four, and what happened? The Eagles went into Lambeau Field Week four and beat Green Bay so anything is possible there.
And then on top of that Week 16 at Lambeau Field, you gotta verse the best running back in the NFL when you don't have a good run defense.
So it's gonna be tough game there for, For that matter, I'd say it's it's a must win for the Green Bay Packers.
I say the Packers win.
This game is Well, I think they'll they'll win it with comfort and ease, Samu said.
I believe the Green Bay Packers.
They're gonna put up a If we could put up 31 points against the Indianapolis Colts defense, I think the Green Bay Packers they're gonna score 35 point.
So I think it's gonna be a final score of this kind of reminds me of the Niners game.
I think it's gonna be one of those like 35 17 kind of games where the Green Bay they keep it close throughout.
Most of the game might say through the first three quarters, but when the first quarter comes when the fourth quarter comes around, Green Bay steps it up as an offense, gets two more scores and then shuts down the stairs.
Honestly, My final scores.
Packers win Sands Final scores 27 to 17 Packers When Garrett could you repeat what your final score? WAAS go 28 21 Packers 21 Packers On the route to that, I think it's gonna be like probably either 21 7 or 28.
They're like 28 to 7.
Something like that going into the fourth quarter and Packers drop back in coverage and the Bears get some coverage.
I guess I'm good.
Good old, good old garbage Garbage Time Stats.
Help out Schablitsky Stat numbers.
Getting his next extension.
E We'll definitely see.
See what happens in this game.
I feel it is gonna be an exciting Sunday Night Football.
Obviously, you wish it had fans in the stands because whenever you got Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field Packers Bears, that's that's always a crowd pleaser.
Everybody from from Green Bay, Wisconsin, love to show up to that game, and it's always a good sellout.
Always good to watch good division rivals play on Sunday Night football underneath the lights.
Um, do you guys have any anything anything else to add? Do you think Mitchell Travis Key bits a shot with another team and most, well, I'll you start, start out Sam with that question.
Do you think Drobinski has has a shot at any other team as a starting quarterback Just getting resigned? Maybe not even necessarily as a starter. E.
I think he could be a reliable Q B two at the right price.
I don't see him as a starting quarterback on any other team.
No, I definitely agree.
Agree with Sam as well.
I think his chances are very slim.
I mean, it could be a situation where he could resign, but I feel more as a backup kind of role.
I mean, it sucks because, you know it's a risk.
You know, he's the number two overall pick and you expect a lot more from a number two overall pick.
But you know, that's just one of those where just because you're number two, uh, that doesn't mean a thing you gotta play with.
Risky has it has a played well, I do believe his days as a starter are numbered.
I feel like depending on how this game goes.
If Robiskie has a terrible game.
He probably won't be starting in the NFL.
If he has a good game, Maybe he Maybe he survives another week.
But will he ever be a starter? I think that's That's to be determined.
Um, I feel like it depends on the situation that he goes to.
Maybe if he goes to the Cowboys in the off season, has more of a backup.
Moreover, back up kind of guy, maybe take like a maybe go like a Teddy Bridgewater route, where maybe you go to a contending team as a backup, and you know, if somebody gets hurt, you know, you fill in and if you do well, maybe you could cash in cash in a payday and go from there.
But yeah, to answer your question here, I think, is I think he does have a chance to be with the team.
But it will be as a backup, not as a starter, because I don't think there's a lot of talk about the Bears.
Decline is fifth year option, which I think is gonna happen.
But I think it's gonna be more of a mutual parting of ways than a where the Bears just tell him he has to go just because if your mental Seabiscuit you cannot be happy with how it's been going to Chicago and the argument can be made that he just has a big given the opportunity there, they probably say my do looking for somewhere else to go.
And if that means taking a backup role and having to prove yourself.
I mean, that's what you gotta do.
I I almost think Middle one out of Chicago is about Chicago.
Yeah, definitely, definitely.
Definitely saw some good points there being made.
Whiskey can find somewhere somewhere else to succeed.
Uh, maybe has to be out of Chicago.
Maybe he could be a backup somewhere.
Maybe it's because I'm a chance to be a starting.
Maybe he went to starting job.
You know, you never know what happens.
I mean, I think everybody thought for sure Tannehill was gonna bust in Miami, which he waas.
He goes to Tennessee.
They're two and four.
They throw in 10 and all.
What happens? He gets red hot titans, go 97 and then make it to the actual championship game and he cashes in with $100 million contract.
So anything is possible.
As long as Travis Key does well gets a new change of scenery, maybe we'll get a different Robiskie.
Maybe we'll get a head coach that knows how to utilize, utilize his skills.
And, yeah, I was, Yeah, especially with the Tannehill comparison stand.
Hill is not a great quarterback.
He's just a good quarterback in the perfect system for the type of quarterback he is.
And I think it's a busy you could find a home like that.
He could definitely show, maybe not second pick overall talent, but I feel that he's a much better quarterback than the rap he's gotten in Chicago.
Uh huh, Yeah, We'll definitely see what happens with Travis Key there and that, my friend concludes this stream of the title town show.
