the draft is what hope starts all over again.
Hope deep on passionate kind of hope that the next pick will make this season dust season.
Hope that the next name called will be yours.
And hello, everybody.
Welcome to the brand new show All about the birds Draft talk.
I'm here with Tommy Barnett.
Uh, the 80 birds draft writer and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Hope your Thanksgiving was good, Tommy.
Hope you had a lot of turkey e I put on a couple pounds.
You know, e I think everybody did, Uh, we're here doing talk draft.
We're talking eagles, but we're also gonna break down all the other teams.
We have a couple things on the slate for tonight.
Um, but just what I wanna do is every Friday night, we're gonna be talking about the draft.
Um, it's you know that time, You know, you get into the, uh, the end of November into December.
Everyone's talking about the draft because some teams air out of it.
So you wanna look, look into next year.
So that's what we're gonna kind of do with, you know, all the teams and with Eagles fans watching and everybody on whoever they like, what kind of players are gonna be coming into the league that you can, uh, take a look at and we're gonna start with our mock top 10? So kinda well, you know, the top 10 now, Because with the playoffs and everything, changing the top 10 seems to be pretty good. And you see it all around.
So I'm gonna start with you.
Tom, if you want to go with your number one pick and who you think is gonna be the New York Jets number one selection, I think everyone has Ah, same pick for the New York Jets right now.
Has to be Trevor Lawrence.
Uh, time to move on from Sam.
Donald Lawrence is kind of quarterback.
That if he's there, you have to take him.
You move on from San Donald.
He hasn't really shown you what you need out of a franchise guy yet, so I'm thinking that, you know, that's exactly right.
And it's it's kind of like like you.
You said it before we came on.
The consensus is our first couple picture kind of be the same.
Yeah, it's hard because Donald he had a chance.
But the injuries have really affected him and not being on the field, and that's really hurt him.
So it's tough to me. It's definitely Trevor Lawrence.
He's by far the number one player in this draft.
They've compared him to Andrew Luck.
Hey, has all the tools, the size, the arm, the mobility in the pocket so that he's definitely somebody that is gonna Maybe maybe he gets a new coach.
Maybe they stay with Adam Adam.
Gays, I don't know.
But to start with Trevor Lawrence is, um, you know, a pretty good building block for the New York Jets, Tad on that.
If you're moving on from Donald, you trade him for the picks and you have even more even where guys just around Lawrence, with talent right away.
Yeah, there's gonna be tons of teams that are gonna want him.
I could see teams like Pittsburgh, maybe even in New England or somebody along the lines of needing a player to sit behind.
Maybe a veteran for a year.
Or, you know, I could definitely see Donald being being dealt and, you know, given the Jets more picks for Joe Douglas and Adam Gates.
Or if it's a new head coach, um, the basically the maneuverability, I guess, to add more talent to that roster, which they definitely need.
Yeah, they already have five picks in the top 90.
So if you're looking at the Josh Rosen trade as kind of like a baseline, that was to think to one of two and five for Rosen s.
So if you're thinking Donald might get you the same thing even like in a deep class quarterbacks.
So the number two would be the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Where do they go? I got Justin Fields.
I'm guessing you're the same Justin Fields.
He's the number two quarterback.
He's, you know, he's dynamic as well.
And Gardner Minshew that experiments gone.
He's a backup quarterback, and there's a reason he was drafted in the sixth round.
But you have to start over to start over with Justin Fields.
I did buy into mince.
You may need a little bit. I mean, it was thought to root for the guy. Yeah.
No, it's he, you know, the mustache, everything.
He looked like that. Yeah.
You know, I don't pay the porn star of the 70 but, you know, he he showed a little bit, but it's he just wasn't He's not a franchise quarterback.
If you get a chance to build around fields, you have to take it.
Hey, struggled a little bit against Indiana last week, which I was also surprised by, even though they have a good defense, him under pressure was a little bit surprised how he handled that.
But I still think he's consensus number two, no matter how Well.
Uh, how you doing, Jason? Thanks for Jason, our fantasy expert.
Uh, thanks for tuning in.
How you doing, Adam? And then? Yeah, Minshew out of Washington State.
Jason hits me with college.
Always do it on his show.
Hit him up with what? The players talking about where they went to school, but with the number three pick, you know? Yeah, the Cincinnati Bengals, who, unfortunately, uh, devastating the injury to Joe Burrow.
Um, you know that that that that's real tough for you know what? What he was showing in his rookie season.
Um, but where do you go with this pick? I went with a nice school.
You have to protect Borough once he's back.
So what's the best offensive alignment in the draft? Uh, even though he opted out what he showed last year, you have to take him. Yeah.
Yeah, that zm I pick as well.
It's definitely Sewell you need.
You need to get that Officer Lyman.
They got Jonah, Jonah Williams.
And, um, you know, they've tried to get some offensive line talent, but Sewell is just by far the number one offensive offensive tackle in this draft.
And you have to protect your French Quarter, which, unfortunately, he may not be healthy for the beginning of the season with I know we tour his a c l M c l and he had other knee structural eso he's gonna miss, you know, a little bit of time.
There's been talk about possibly them going a quarterback here, but I would think that would just know that would be stupid.
I've seen some articles with that, but I just don't agree with it.
You build that offensive line, you build it for for borough, so that's that's definitely hands down.
So, unfortunately, Number four is the hated Dallas Cowboys on the Eagles aspect.
Which you to, you know, as a Giants fan.
So where would you go? Where do you think is best for the Cowboys to go with? Um Now, Mike McCarthy is head coach.
Their offensive minded guy.
But where do you see Dallas going with this? I think they end up going defense.
Once you get back, back that offensive, be set.
Get your offensive line a little bit healthy.
I ended up going with Patrick, certain, uh, cornerback at Alabama.
I consider going Parsons just cause Parsons is probably the best defensive player in the draft.
But positional value wise, I'd go with certain, uh uh, grafico tan, reunite him with Giggs played together last year.
Yes, that's that's where I went to.
I went, Yeah, we're seems like we're the same right here.
We didn't pre plan this. We all did this.
We did. This buyer are lonesome.
So I was talking about going Parsons.
But I just feel with Van dressed and Jaylin Smith there, Um you know, I think secondary their biggest because woozy is gonna be a free agent.
I don't see them resigning him.
Uh, digs has shown a little bit, but I think you have to go to cornerback.
You have to build up the secondary.
Their secondary is very suspect.
Their defense, by itself is very suspect.
They're not very good, and the other thing is their interior, their their defensive line.
But there's nobody up this this high that you can take.
That's their biggest thing is either defensive end or, um, defensive tackle with what they have.
There just isn't anyone that's worth the number four selection.
You don't wanna know you don't want to reach.
So I think certain certain that pick here now, The one that's the tricky one for me is Los Angeles at number five.
Who did you have them taken with this election? Ah, Christian Gary Saw had a Virginia Tech.
Um, I've same same reason for Borough.
If you just you have to protect your quarterback that you're getting a good offensive linemen in there.
He's been rising up the draft boards lately, hasn't given up the sack all season.
Uh, that's even with going up against two of the best pass Rush James in college.
They've both got a great set of pass rushers.
Yeah, and I thought about going offensive line.
But I wind up going on the defensive side of the ball and I went Micah Parsons.
With this election, I felt like the best player on the board.
I think that's kind of where they go.
I know they've struggled with the linebacker.
Um, my my biggest struggle with them is they have the talent on the edge.
It's just that interior part and even even in the secondary.
You know that. Then trading Casey Hayward to Tennessee.
Um, I feel Denzel Perriman's kind of on the on the outskirts.
He's on the basically doesn't play that much.
And I feel like getting a playmaker like Parsons that could do a whole bunch can cover tight ends.
Can play in the middle, can rush the passer.
It gives them that defensive player, too kind of holding the rest of their defense, and I feel like this pick.
I feel like off the tackle, maybe a little bit of a reach.
But I think Parsons gives them you know, that stability on the defensive side of the ball at this election.
Just because they took, didn't I take Kenneth Murray in the first last year.
Yeah, well, you think about it.
Gives Murray and Parsons they're a little bit different of linebackers.
Parsons plays on the way.
He played a middle, but he plays on the outside.
Murray Murray? Yeah, And the thing is, Murray's a a e don't know.
It's you think is more of a middle linebacker, so Yeah, but I feel like they just go best player available in that, That I would agree Parsons is the best player available there.
Um, now, number six is your New York Giants.
So, you know, let you get the spotlight on this one.
Where do you think that that they should go with this pick? I know we talked earlier.
You know, a couple of weeks ago you were really heavily leaning at quarterback for them.
So I was that that was when we had the At that point, we were thinking, like, second or third that we were gonna I think we were the third or fourth pick, actually, Maybe where I would have wanted Zach Wilson, because if we finished in the top five, that means like Daniel Jones.
He just didn't show it, But picking at number six.
And like the way he's looked the last two weeks, he has shown improvement.
He's been turning the ball over less.
So with this pick, I wouldn't got him a weapon.
Um, probably the best wide receiver available.
Not going to be back last season.
Sterling Shepard, huh? He has injury issues almost every season.
Darius Layton's more of a number two guy.
I feel like if you're if you're giving if you're running with Daniel Jones, you have to surround him with the talent will get Barkley back next year.
The offense is starting to take some shape there, then, yeah, and the way I thought about.
I have chased to, uh, make the same one on that, Uh, but the way the way you think about it is he has stolen.
Shepard's been hurt, but he's a dynamic slot receiver for them.
He always he does very well in that slot if he's healthy.
Plus, you have, um, you know, you have Evan Ingram, who, if he's healthy and they can try and use him a little bit Mawr in that that almost kind of like how the Eagles you Zach Ertz in terms of in the middle of the field.
Use his athleticism.
But you have Darius Slay, and you're able to get a guy like Jamaar Chase on the outside.
Plus getting a guy like Barkley back healthy and Daniel Jones improving.
Plus, they did add some building blocks to the offensive line.
You know, it's now the Giants should be better because they've been drafting so high for the last number of years.
And, you know, you start getting this young talent, you start getting in the top five in the top 10 you need.
You start hitting on some players and you start getting top talent for for your offense.
So I field remark.
Chase is the guy for them.
Um, it kind of rounds out that offense because the defense has been playing pretty well this year.
I don't know your take on it, but I feel their defense has played a good defense.
I got on defense.
They could use the second corner.
Also a second linebacker but part Parsons versus Chase.
I'd go chase just because the defense is a little bit better than the offense right now and I wouldn't go a corner this early.
Um, number seven is Atlanta.
Um, you know, they were up pretty high a lot of the season.
They've won a couple games, so they dropped down to seven.
This is a team that has a plethora of needs.
So basically, you could just You could go really anywhere with with this.
Where do you see Atlanta? Basically the best thing.
That they should go with this pick.
This is a guy I like a lot, actually.
Equity pay pass rusher.
Uh, most people have Gregory Brazil as the number one.
I think it's pay all the way.
19 pressures already in just three games.
He's pretty much unblockable.
The only thing going for that defense right now, he's just enough athletic freak with with the Falcons letting go of Tech McKinley a few weeks back.
Um, I think they're They're ranked 23rd and sacks on the year you looked at a pass rusher here.
Go pay over or so just guys work.
No result is he's good on the edge, but you could also line him up on the interior.
But they already have Grady Jarrett there, so it's kind of I feel like pays more beneficial for their system. Almost.
So you kind of hit me because that's who I had.
Were so going E yeah.
And the reason I see it, it's It's tough because Atlanta has not had I was thinking about going away from edge rusher early for them because, you know, they had tack McKinley, Vic Beasley.
They've drafted high, you know, edge rushers high.
And it's it's basically it hurt them because it hasn't worked out.
Um, but I go, We're so here, uh, they need things.
Something, Um, I do like pretty pay, but I just feel that they go.
I think I think they will go.
Russo if he's the number one player available, it all depends on who fits.
Of course, pay may fit a little bit better for them, but I'm gonna go Russo here.
Team needs pass rush.
The team needs a lot.
They're not very not very good.
And they got a lot of aging veterans.
Um, so they could be, um, up early in the draft the following year.
Two because I feel like they could wind up getting rid of a couple of veterans on the offensive side of the ball, but definitely pass rusher is one of their biggest needs.
Uh, number eight comes to, you know, my Philadelphia Eagles.
We were coming back.
We message back and forth about you know who we were gonna pick here.
Um, you know, the Eagles do have the number eight pick.
They've been in first place for a number of weeks now, but at 36 and one with the game yesterday.
Washington beating Dallas, Washington now has first place.
So they're picked number 19.
Eso The eagles dropped to eight.
I thought about it a lot where they should go, whether it should or receiver where they should go.
Um, I went a little bit different here.
Um, I went someone that you were very highly of line background of Notre Dame Jeremiah Yushu core Amoah.
That's why I'm a little surprised there.
Yeah, the reason I went that way is I feel it's I know they don't go linebacker, but he's not.
Yes, he is listed as a linebacker, but he does so much, he's lined up on the edge.
He's lined up at linebacker He's lying about safety.
He's lined up all over the place, covering tight ends.
He's done it all.
So he's almost like that.
That Jeremy chin slash Isaiah Simmons, that mold of a player.
And, yeah, he's not the biggest guy, but he's still 6 ft 1 to 16, so he gives the versatility in that defense.
You know, we've talked on our shows and the position the secretary position and losing Malcolm Jenkins.
He could kind of fill that role a little bit of what Malcolm did.
So I I think that's Eagles probably won't go that way because they don't draft linebackers.
But that's such a exactly.
And he's rising up the draft boards.
Just you know what he can dio and he's on.
He's playing tonight, and he's playing U N. C.
Who has a very good offense.
So it's, you know, a big, big test there for him to, uh, really shoot up.
Even even higher on draft boards, they played a little earlier.
Earlier, they stretched Avanti, Williamstown.
From what I saw in the first half, I didn't get to watch too much of the game that was preparing for the show, You know, you know, I I end up going a little bit different with the Eagles pick.
I do like Jeremiah, but I ended up going offense.
I went wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Waddle Way had a guy comment about it.
What about Jaylen? Waddle? I feel like he fits kind of what the Eagle is like in a receiver with that speed.
He's an absolute burner out there.
He could make guys miss after the catch.
I feel like if you if you're sticking it out with Carson once, you got to give him, you got to give him some help and I think waddles like I there.
He'll start the field a little bit more.
It's kind of a knowing what you guys going to do in the off season to get back underneath that caps like we know all Sean Alshon.
Jeffery is gone to Sean Jackson gone Marqise.
Goodwin is gone, so I went to receiver here.
Even though it's pretty deep class, I feel like he's kind of a stand out here.
Yeah, and you know, you could see that going to go on Playmaker.
They went rigor in the first round, but you got a guy like Fulgham, who is showing you a little bit of something does exactly It's return.
So there's there's a lot of questions on that offensive side of the ball.
But when you have a stud like Miles Sanders, and then if you can add a burner and a speed guy like Waddle, you know that, Zaveri Smart, smart choice.
You know, the Eagles are gonna have a number of options and, you know, they could wind up trading like they could trade back and get some get some pics because, you know, the more picks, the merrier with them with.
I know a lot of people complain about Harry Roseman not being able to draft and everything, but when you have a pick that high, there's a possibility you're going to get, you know, a very good player, very talented player.
You're almost like I can't miss type of player.
But, um, going now on the the last two picks of our mock top 10 is Number nine, the Detroit Lions, who still haven't fired their GM or head coach yet, which is surprising.
But I know, uh, Jason, I always I always call it your lions.
When I when I message.
Jason are fantasy writer.
Um, but he goes, Don't don't call them my Lions anymore.
So But where do you see them going with this number nine pick? This one was actually the hardest pick I had.
I went with the Vonta Smith because I love I love Matt Stafford just too much.
I need to give him some kind of help in that offense.
I don't think that they should move on, move on from him.
He's a talented quarterback, even though they should fire map.
Patricia and a new head coach might want to bring in their own guy, but I just love staffer too much.
I have to give him a little bit of help.
Jason chime in in there.
Uh, I went on the defensive side of the ball, and, you know, I tried looking for Jason.
So if there's any New England Patriots available to draft because Patricia likes to get the old cast offs.
But I went safety Javon Holland from Oregon.
Um, he's the best safety in the draft on my in my opinion, Hey, kinda kinda could do a whole bunch of different things and they need safety help.
I know they've rotated.
Ah, lot of guys playing that position.
You know Deron Harmon? They got from New England.
You know, Tracy Walker's been around.
They have Ah, they need to try toe work on that defense.
Hopefully, Matt, Patricia is gone.
Um, but, you know, and I think Hollande can help help them, you know, start something.
They have some players on the defensive side of the ball, right? The first thing is to get rid of the head coach of bringing somebody new, but John Holland would be a nice selection for Detroit.
Yeah, and something that they need.
Yeah. Sorry, Jason.
I had to throw him and throw it in there.
But the last pick is the Carolina Panthers at number 10.
So who do you think best fits going to Carolina? I still have online board Michael Parsons.
I think he'll slide a little bit just because linebacker is kind of a devalued position.
Also, there's kind of like that whole story coming out with him in that lawsuit where he's kind of sliding because people are kind of questioning his character now.
I don't know how much truth there is to any of that, but he'd be a great pick for the Panthers after they used every pick last year on defense and after losing quickly, that that would make that defense.
Really? You know, Brian Burns and gross mottoes, who played at Penn State with Parsons.
And then they got Jeremy Chin and plays all over the place and, you know, adding him into that, even their defensive tackle position with getting Derek Brown.
And then they have, um, you know, some key key young players.
Like you said, they went, they went defense the whole entire draft.
Um and yeah, we We thought about quarterback.
We didn't go that route.
I didn't go that route either.
Um, I went cornerback Caleb Farley out of Virginia Tech a big, long corner, and I looked at their looking, looking at their depth chart and what they need, You know, they have Jackson.
You know, Rasul Douglas has been playing very well, but really behind them, they don't have a whole lot, you know, Troy Pride Junior they had, um, but other than that, they don't have a lot of depth.
And Farley is, uh, like I said, For me, there's at least 4 to 5 corners that I could see going in the first round.
The quarterback position is pretty good this year and you've had a couple of players.
Farley was one of them that he did opt out, Um, early in the season.
I think he's like 62 So he's a real big, long corner and something that, uh, I think Matt rules gonna go with, You know, that defense, He's gonna kinda go with what he knows and what he knows.
The defensive side of the ball.
I think they could go quarterback saying the second round, Um, because there's gonna be a number of guys which we're going to touch on next in our quarterback rankings.
Um, you know, there's some people for them to develop, but, you know, we both thought about, you know, quarterback early in our our mocks.
You know, a couple weeks ago, with the way that it was, we had at least three or four, almost four quarterbacks in the top 10.
But you know, that has changed with some of the teams winning, so it's just the way the order kinda worked out.
I think if the top 10 stays the way it is now, there's gonna be teams trading up for Lance and Wilson.
Especially with the way those Wilson's playing.
And the thing is with Lance, you know, he's only played one game, so you should have last year's film.
So he's still young as well, which, you know, it gets us in our quarterback rankings.
So we're gonna We're gonna go with our top 15 guys that we have ranked right now.
We're gonna go down our list.
Um, I'll let you, Tom.
I let you go first.
Uh, you know, give the list, and then we'll discuss kind of each other's.
Listen who we have Where? All right.
Uh, number one. I have Trevor Lawrence.
Um, for a reason.
Stated before, Like when we're talking about the jets.
I have Justin Fields.
Same reason going to the Jags.
Third, I have Zach Wilson over Trey Lance, which was seen as a hot take at the start of the season.
But everyone kind of had Trey Lancer cemented there, but I'm a little bit worried about him on Lee.
One season starting playing in the FCS against the lower competition.
Um, he's only trade. I have tried lines.
That's for someone to kind of Segway into him.
But he and he only had 17 career starts, and he's only thrown more than 20 passes in eight of those games.
Yeah, that's that's pretty pretty nice to talk about him as a top 10 guy, but he does have the traits.
He does? Yeah, he has.
He has what you're looking for in a quarterback.
So it z to me, it kind of almost like that Jordan love aspect.
Yeah, from last year.
He didn't really rise up the boards, but the guys that were there weren't as many teams quarterback, needy teams that there's gonna be this year early in the draft.
I have Kyle Trask.
I think he actually slides out of the first round even with the way that he's playing.
That's not gonna be popular with you.
I have Mac Jones.
I have Mac Jones and Kyle dress kind of on the same level.
They're they're kind of in the same here from Ray.
I have Desmond Ritter out of Cincinnati eight.
Hey, played for Wake Forest strength to Georgia this year, then opted out. Never played a snap.
Malik Cunningham out of Louisville.
Can you pick it out of pit? 11.
Derek King out of Miami.
Kellen Mon, Texas A and M.
Tanner Morgan at 13.
Rock Party 14 and then Sam Ehlinger at 15.
All right, so the beginning starts to be a little bit.
Um, it's, you know, a little bit the same with us.
And, you know, I just I'll go through mine.
Um, before that, I want to say that I left a few guys out there.
If I didn't think that they were declared so I mean, Carson strong out in Nevada.
I mean, I love that guy a lot, but I just don't see him declaring this year.
Well, I'll let you get into Elissa.
So I had Lawrence one.
You know, Fields to Zach Wilson. Three.
I went Kyle Trask for E.
No, I know we've talked about it.
Um, I just don't know.
It's just his makeup.
The way he came on strong last year and the way he's been playing this year, you know, against all sec upon opponents.
He's looked very good.
Yes, he has the talent around him as well, but I don't know.
He's just taken almost.
I'm not going to compare him to Joe Burrow.
I know people, but he kinda has that almost like he comes in.
And then the next year he gets even better.
Last year he played really well after coming in for a leap for Philippe Franks, and he just took it to another level this year.
So that's why I have him for, um, I have Trey, Lance five, uh like like like you stated before.
Uh, you know, it's he is very young, and I still think he's very raw and, you know, Jason brings it up here.
A lot of experience mixed Robiskie, and he was drafted really high.
So I think Lance is gonna have to sit a year or two and kind of learn his offense.
Kind of get a feel for things before he's really ready.
You never know he could turn into something really special, but I think I think he's very, very raw right now.
He has to go to the right team.
Uh, e when it comes to I wish you would have came back one more season just to get a little bit more experience, especially with the way the classes, because he comes back.
If he would have came back one more year, he would have been a bona fide number one guy.
I guess so right now, right now, he could find a falling into the mid to possibly late first, all depending on what teams for because, you know, if you really look at it, he could wind up falling into almost where Washington picks.
Washington could want to pick it up at 19 if they if they win the when the division, so he could definitely dropped.
So that was That was It's an interesting tidbit with him.
But number six I have Mac Jones, um, with kind of the reasons that you stated to He's looked really well, but the one thing with him that I'm kind of worried about yes, he's played very well.
Look at what he has around him.
Yeah, he has a lot of talent there.
Super super talented players around him, So I love that deep, although, yeah, but the thing is that people said the same thing with Joe Burrow last year all the talent he had around him And was he really that good? He showed early in the year with Cincinnati.
He is what he is as advertised.
Um, my my number seven was Jamie Newman.
And then I don't know.
I just like his tools as well, just like he's not the biggest guy, but his arm strength and his mobility.
I just I He kind of fits what the NFL is right now and how teams use.
I feel he's with, you know how the combine goes and everything like that, and I feel he could raise up boards with that Number eight.
I Desmond Ritter from Cincinnati.
Cincinnati is handy having an outstanding season, and he's, Ah, big reason why he's just he makes plays.
He's a very good, very, very good player.
Um, number nine.
You probably gonna agree with me here.
I have Sam Ellen's, right? Yeah, it's him.
I'm not high on him.
Um, he has a lot toe work with.
He has a lot to basically work on.
He's not a Polish quarterback whatsoever, but for some reason, he reminds me a lot of like a Taysom hill.
I don't know if it's his build.
I don't know if it's just like he's a big, stocky type of guy who likes to get, you know, move out of the pocket.
I always thought of him as like a poor man's Tebow.
Yeah, he's not the best arm.
Um, he's kind of a little bit funky delivery, but number number 10 I Philippe Franks.
The reason I have him Number 10 is the size 66 to 15.
I feel like if he gets in the right system and gets with the right coach taken, make him into because he showed flashes with Florida before he got injured.
Um, he showed flashes, but again, he is one to make mistakes as well He likes Well, not gonna say he's a gun slinger, but he does take a lot of risks.
Um, and playing on Arkansas doesn't really help.
That much is not a ton of talent on that team.
You're not getting much national attention there. Exactly.
Um, number 11, I believe Cunningham, um number 12 Shane Buechele from S M U.
Uh, he was at Texas, but transferred.
Um, I feel like what's gonna hurt him is, um, you know, his star receiver got hurt, so, you know, it's just but I like to I like to read Robertson a lot.
Yeah, I felt like if he would have stayed healthy, he would have been up there.
Like I said, the wide receiver class I love this year and 13, I've Kenny pick it, pick it so up and down.
Um, hot and cold.
He shows, like, so many flashes of portraits, and then you'll watch him in next game, and it's just not fair at all.
I love his arm strength, though.
Yeah, the thing with him is, for some reason, I see his name and I see pit next to him.
I think of Tom Sa***e who played at Yeah, I don't know why.
I don't just He had the same same thing.
He had all the tools that build everything and just he just wasn't wasn't that good? Um, 14.
The guy just wins.
Um, I have I have in my top 15.
Just because of that, he's not the most talented player.
He's gonna be a late round draft pick, but he just he finds ways to win My number 15 is dear King from Miami.
Yes, he's small.
Um, but you can't really put the size factor because you look at guys like Kyler, Murray and Drew Brees.
And you have all these guys who come in the league who aren't the biggest.
But I don't know if he's gonna be a quarterback going into the league.
I'm not sure of that.
I don't know if he's gonna be more of, ah weapon type of thing.
Um but I think he's just so die who is so dynamic.
And he could do so much.
We have, ah, question here.
Who is a sleeper Q B Nobody is talking about.
I'll let you take this away.
Ah, well, one guy that I have on my list that, you know, I don't think you had on yours was Kellen Monde.
Did you have him on? There are No, I didn't.
Just Yeah, I like him just because he has a strong arm.
The mobility, He's athletic, He can move around.
He's not much of a burner, but he can move around in the pocket.
I like him as a developmental guy in the later rounds.
He just kind of reminds me of Josh Allen a little bit.
And the thing is, he the guy has a size and and everything there, like 11 guy, I'm I'm going to say I'll throw him out there.
You mentioned him in yours.
He's a junior, though.
I don't think he's going to get come out. I don't know.
Yeah, Yeah, I'm not sure.
With better last season, then this year? Yeah, exactly.
And I feel like another year will help him rise up the boards because of the have deep the quarterback classes this year.
Um, compared toa You know, next year he's gonna be, of course, higher up on the board.
So as someone that possibly if he puts together, um, you know, a strong end of the season could shoot up boards and if he decides to declare, But that that's who I have for that, um, you know, hopefully the eagles don't pick any any quarterbacks.
I know they like to talk about quarterback factory.
Um, you know, a second round? Yeah. Please.
No, I don't want to think about I don't think about quarterbacks anymore, but talk about some Eagles possibilities.
Um, you know, we we mentioned two possibilities of who we had on here, but, you know, they could They could do a multiple, you know, a multitude of things here.
They could trade down.
They could wind up sneaking into the playoffs where they'll be in the mid rounds.
So, you know, there's a couple of different ways they could go, Um, the way I see a couple of players all throughout and I'll let you throughout a couple.
Uh, now if a player like Jamaar Chase were to drop, I think he's an absolute no brainer.
Um, players, I What I would say is players who dropped that they dropped to them at eight.
If there's still a number eight.
Um, were, you know, in the top 10.
If Chase Parsons or I would say certain drops to them, they're absolutely no brainers.
You have to pick them.
But I have one more guy who do you got full can Isil. Okay.
Given to Yeah, I was just like, even with my lot of playing.
Well, I mean well, so it was just that good.
You have to You know the Eagles made a whole bunch of changes to the Office of Line today, with Piers going to right guard and my a lot of playing left tackle and Lane Johnson out for the year with an ankle injury, which hopefully, you know, he's back better than ever next year.
But you look at that.
You know Dillard coming off of an injury, Where does he really even fit? Um, you know, if if my a lot of plays last few games and he looks really strong, if a player like Sewell drops to you, I feel like Sewell.
So you know, so talented, he could play absolutely anywhere.
Um, and that's the big thing.
If you get Andy, Reid always did it.
You build from the interior out, so you build your lines.
And, like I've said it numerous times, what Super Bowl winner has had an awful offensive line? You really can't you can't name one.
So my big thing on that if they drop absolutely.
Even if I like their Dara Shaw from Virginia Tech, he wouldn't be a bad, you know, ideal, either.
I understand the Eagles have some, you know, they still have guys that tackle and everything like that.
But, um, the other guys, you know, equity pay if he's there, you know, an edge rusher.
You know, Brandon Grams getting up there in age.
You have, Ah, guy like Derek Barnett, who is supposed to make $10 million next year.
I really don't see that.
But what do you guys do you have on the list that, you know, possibilities that you think would would work well for them? I have.
They could take Parsons or Drama you to camera just cause we're kind of touching on the linebackers earlier.
How it's the need for them.
Yeah, because it already on edge rusher through them, I think another position that they could look at.
I don't think they do it if they're in the top 10.
But if you guys come back and win the division, I could see you going with a corner later in the first.
Just because there's so many corners there.
You could go with Farley Horn or Stokes.
Yeah, I think Farley and Horn might be gone around then.
You're kind of looking at just soaks.
But I like horn a lot in this class.
Very physical corner son of Joe Horn in his game against Auburn.
Auburn this earlier this year with Seth Williams.
And they have Anthony Schwartz.
He was just dominant against Williams to the entire game.
Yeah, two catches on 10 targets, two picks, five passes broken up against the guy who's probably going in the top 34 rounds.
Yeah, and you know the You know, I don't know how it is.
I don't feel always likes toe mock me and say I'm so young and everything because he's a little bit older than me.
But do you feel old seeing guys like, you know, Joe Horn, son Pet certain E.
Asante Samuel Jr.
You know all these guys, Frank Gore's kid is, and I think he's a freshman in college now.
Yeah, we'll be playing with his dad, his Frank Gordon's and Frank Corso a couple more years off, you know, exactly.
But, you know, looking at like the quarterback situation, even a guy like Dairy and Kendrick from Clemson is starting to shoot up a little bit.
Um, he's a physical type of like, kind of how a.
Tyrell was last year, Um, that that very physical corner.
Um, but quarterback is definitely a need is 100% needs to be drafted in either round one or two for the Eagles the way it is you have.
Darius Slay is there for another year.
You get of his contract after next year, but he's showing you he can lock down one side.
He's played very well this year.
Vonta Maddox is not an outside cornerback.
Hey, needs to be playing slot.
It's he's just one.
He's undersized and two, They just They need somebody on the outside and they just don't They don't have it.
And, you know, get rid of Sidney Jones.
End virtual Douglas, you know, has left them kind of hampered because they have a bunch of slot corners crave on the block.
Nicole Roby, Coleman avonte, Maddox.
They're all slot guys.
That's why they need to um you know, they have to go with the outside corner.
And I like those guys that that that you mentioned.
Um, but you know, when you know we week by week it's gonna change? Of course.
Uh, but eagles could wind up going up up the draft draft order, which will make it very interesting to see kind of where they go.
But there's just so many different options that they could go and see.
That's that's the big thing.
I think there's a corner in the first three rounds for them, just so they can kind of get someone who can learn behind Slay.
Since how old this right now, like 29 or 30 I think he's 29 turns 30.
Okay, just just to kind of get someone in there because corners one of those positions where it takes a while to learn and kind of get up to speed and play at a high level I would prefer to bring.
I would prefer to bring someone in now to kind of learn on the opposite side of him, and it's tough, like the cornerback position.
And I've said it that, you know, it's really it's, I don't know.
It's just it's really tough that you have these guys that look like sure fire, you know, stars, you know? Look, look at your giants.
Eli Apple and DeAndre Baker.
You drafted those two guys don't wanna talk about that.
Well, I have to bring it up because it's so examples I would say that's why Stoke scares me a little bit this year.
Just those Georgia corners, you know? Yeah, 100%.
See, that's and even a like a guy that was really high early in the and the And here's Phil chime in in that, Yeah, I'm a baby.
But no, the big thing with like Ohio State cornerbacks every year there's at least one guy that's so talented.
He's up toward the top.
You know, it was supposed to be Sean Wade.
This year, he's shown that he struggled to me.
He's a nickel corner, which I think is Maurin around 2 to 3 range.
I don't think he's the 1st 1st round guy with all the other talent that's out there.
Yeah, I mean, he played the slot last year.
They switched him to the outside corner this year, and he's just been struggling the entire time.
I originally thought he'd make the transition okay, just because of how well owes how well their corners have done in the past.
But yeah, yeah, I think he's falling at the first round with this play.
But getting to kind of what's going on this weekend, Um, you know, some players toe watch, you know that we haven't mentioned.
Um, you know, keep your eye on because, you know, draft class is always full of players that, you know, come out of nowhere.
And you should keep your eyes on certain players that have different skill sets.
But who do you have? You know, if you wanna go with your first guy, who would you do? You wanna have people keep an eye on this weekend? Uh, two guys.
I was gonna talk about Roger McCreary and smoke Monday corner in a safety out of Auburn A.
That's the greatest day of in the draft.
I mean, I had to find a way to work him into the conversation somehow.
And, of course, they're playing Alabama.
So they'll they'll be tested this week with Devonta Smith.
He's only allowing about 25 receiving yards a game through seven games this year.
Monday, he started big last week against Tennessee.
He had that 100 yard pick six.
Uh, I just want to see kind of how they look against Mac Jones and a pretty good Alabama offense.
Yeah, it's a great test.
Um, the first guy I have a list.
Linebacker from Northwestern Blake Gallagher.
Patty Fisher gets a lot of notoriety on Northwestern, but Blake Gallagher against Wisconsin last 14 tackles a sack.
He's not the biggest guy.
He's 612 28 but he's always all over the field.
Um, Pat Fitzgerald just I don't know what it is.
He's just he's such a good coach and with, you know, he used to be a linebacker for for Northwestern.
But you know, Blake Gallagher fits that mold of what you want kind of in a linebacker nowadays.
You He's not the biggest guy, but he flies all over the field is very instinctual.
He has those instincts finding the ball.
Um, so he's definitely a guy.
He's still amid the late rounder, but showing up against Ah good Wisconsin teen, Um, really helps your your draft stock there.
So do you have next Next up? I'm going to stick with the Alabama Auburn game.
I'm gonna go with Anthony shorts.
Um uh, he's the fastest guy in college football, going up against a good secondary with Patrick.
Certain who we talked touched on a little bit earlier.
They also have Josh job more of like a late around guy.
But Schwartz is really he's someone who's gonna rise up once he gets to the combine, he's gonna run fastest 40 of any player, and he's only just 20 years old.
Just wrapped up.
Yeah, hang up with hair him with Henry rugs that Zatz pretty dangerous.
And, like I was saying to you is before was I like this wide receiver class.
I feel this wide receiver class could be, if not better than this year.
You know it za pretty, pretty bold take to say, But if you go up and down and you you look at it this is a super super deep, wide receiver class.
If everybody comes out, of course.
I mean, there's like I like and pretty much every round at receiver right now.
Yeah, and you know, there's another guy that I have these a receiver running back, utility guy kind of all over the place.
Um ka Darius Tony from Florida, 6 ft 1 93.
I kind of I don't know if he's like a Percy Harvin debe Dios annual type of guy, but he's an absolute burner.
It seems like when every time he touches the ball, he scores.
So he's a guy that definitely open up eyes.
Um, you know, definitely take a look.
They're playing Kentucky this week this weekend, Um, but every time he touches the ball and and it's a weapon for Trask, So, um, it makes him look better to make my pick where I put him up high, make it look a little bit better.
Which May will probably bite me later once, you know, once he starts going in there and we'll have this clip and it'll he'll be a bust and then I'll have to eat crow.
But no, I I I like Tony a lot.
I like Tony a lot, too.
He's been on my radar.
I don't know if you saw in the South Carolina game earlier this year, he literally made five guys missed taking it to the house on the score.
It was just insane.
His his his rocks trees a little little bit limited right now, but he's always a threat, even on like those jet sweeps.
He makes a lot of guys miss all the time.
If he gets in the right team that can use him.
Right? The Eagles right, because because they don't use any receiver, right? So a smart team that, you know, a team that could use him, even even a team like San Francisco to have him and Deebo Samuel, like the right team, can make him look absolute, absolutely like a star.
I'd like to see him go to a team like the Saints, like a team that consistently throws like those short passes, just gets the ball in his hands, and let's let him do his thing after the couch. Exactly.
So who's your next guy? Um, since we're on wide receivers, I'll stick.
Stick with that.
I have Jonathan Adams junior at Arkansas State, more of a late Ryan later around Guy, but he's 6432 20 he he plays like he's even taller than 63 Great Red Zone threat.
I think he's leading the nation and contested catches.
Hey, place for a small school.
It doesn't really get the attention, but I think he gotta invite to the Senior Bowl.
I think that's gonna help help a lot of guys, uh, start saying what what? Melanie has and he has.
He has, like, 70 catches for over 900 yards this year and 10 touchdowns.
So he's lighting up.
And last year he was It was not nothing. He was blocked.
But they had another guy, Kirk Merit, who you know, really played well for that Arkansas state team.
So, um, he gets some, you know, some notoriety, and going to the Senior Bowl is huge.
And, you know, a week that I love because you get to see guys, what I'm one smaller school guys go up against, You know, I know it's you don't really take too much in the one on one drills, but you can kind of see what a guy has if they have that, you know, the will almost like the will to, uh, show.
You know what they can do on a bigger stage.
So that's always good.
It's good for the small school guys to get those invites.
Yeah, lets you see what they can do against a little bit better competition to exact the one thing I I think Adams has to work on the drops a little bit.
It's a little bit of an issue right now.
but just for what? He offers us a red zone threat.
I like him a lot in the in the late rounds.
I'm gonna go small.
A small school. Guayas.
Well, I'm gonna go edge rusher Terran Jackson from Coastal Carolina Coast Carolina is ranked their undefeated.
Uh, they're very, very, very talented this year.
Uh, Jackson's super athletic.
A big, strong guy.
Um, you know, he's always making place.
Hey has 38 tackles, 9.
5 tackles for loss.
He has six sacks and 34 stumbles this year.
I don't want to compare him to this guy, but he reminded he reminds me because of the small school aspect Is Khalil Mack from Buffalo? He's a, you know, a big, bulky, strong guy.
Um, but I think he can the thing And the thing is tough is the edge.
Russian position is pretty deep this year, but he can rise up the boards with you know what he's shown this year.
Um, you know, I like him.
He's not the biggest guy.
But, you know, if you get like I said, it's really it's really all where you go if you get the right fit, Um, whether whether he's in a stand up outside rusher, whether he's a true 43 defensive end, Uh, that's to be seen.
But I feel like he's gonna start shooting up draft boards a little bit more.
But right now he's like e think he's in, like the third to fifth round range.
Uh, but I like his makeup.
I think he'll be kind of limited, like in his playing time.
Wherever he gets drafted, he'll probably just working in like the past rushing sets.
Yeah, until he kind of like catches on.
So do you have next? Uh, since we're going pass rushers, actually game that might still be on right now.
I'm honestly not sure.
Oregon Office, Oregon State Game Hammock Hammock are Rashid.
He's one of my guys toe watch.
He's He's been battling injuries a little bit this season.
A za registered junior last year.
He said school records for sacks with 14 tackles for loss, 22 a half, Uh, this year, through three games, no sacks and only one tackle for a loss.
Um, I was kinda hoping to see tonight if you'd be ableto kind of get on board a little bit, um, get up to speed with where he was last year.
He was supposed to be a bit healthier, but I think he actually ended up getting injured again tonight.
Just kind of a shame.
He's a very athletic player and he offers a lot of upside.
But with the amount of death let's were saying earlier in this edge class, I think he's originally I had him in the second round.
I think he might even fall out of the second round with the amount of talent at edge. Right now.
Yeah, and with him is, you know the injuries are a big thing.
Um, he's basically a 34 outside linebacker, 64 to 38.
He's not the biggest guy, but the injuries Air concerned.
Plus, he's also He's already 22 years old, so he's not the youngest guy.
He'll be 23 in his rookie year.
Um, not saying that he's old, but to me, he's He kind of reminds me of another pass rusher that came out of the Pac Pac 12 Nate Orchard, who went to Utah.
You know, that smaller build, But he was always you know, around the quarterback in college.
Um, he hasn't really showed you much in the NFL, which hopefully is not the case for Rashid, but, um, I see.
I see him being in 3rd, 4th round range Azaz long as he's healthy.
If he's not healthy, he'll probably fallout even deeper just because of that.
Um, you don't wanna, you know, especially when he's had the history.
Um, I'm going to stick with, you know, pass rushers.
And I kind of talked about this time.
I'm gonna tandem here.
The Pittsburgh defensive line.
Uh, tandem of Rashid Weaver and Patrick Jones.
Second, the thing is, there are other inside Russia.
Jalen Jalen timing.
He opted out, and he was easy.
Another top player on that defense.
That defensive line is so talented.
He we did miss last year with an injury.
Eso was He was bouncing back from it from an injury.
Um, but he's just showed out, like both of them.
Weaver 65 to 70.
He's a big, big guy.
29 tackles, 12 for lost, 5.5 sacks.
And Patrick Jones is 65 to 60 32 tackles, 10 for law, 10.
5 for lost eight sacks.
So the big thing for pity's they get to the quarterback.
And you know those two guys again, this this rush class whether there, you know, edge rushers, whether the Russians that can move inside.
And you kind of, you know, a multitude of things.
Uh, this whole class is very, very deep.
And I feel these two guys were definitely wants to watch every single week, especially, uh, this week, cause I think they have Clemson.
So going up against the fourth ranked Clemson uh, Tiger.
So that's a big test for them and something that if they wind up having either either one of them having a dominant game could definitely shoot them up draft, shoot them up draft boards.
Yeah, I think last week they had Virginia Tech when I there saw I don't I don't remember if they did too much last week, but this week they'll have Jackson, Carmen and Clemson toe.
Clemson always had a strong offensive line, so yeah, they're always so deep with that.
Um, who's your Who's your last guy? You got last guy.
We talked about him a little bit earlier.
JC Horn, um, they're going up against doors or this week.
Doors are kinda is revitalizing.
There often is a little bit now with JT Daniel starting.
I saw something online earlier with someone actually putting J. T.
Daniels in the first round of their mouth draft.
Which Yeah, yeah.
I don't think he's anywhere close about it, even though they did have a good week.
But I like George Pickens, their wide receiver.
I want to see kind of how horn lines up against him, how he handles him.
Yeah, I like Pickens a lot.
He'll be eligible next year.
He's only a true sop****re.
Um, but he's got all the tools, um, you know, makeup for receive, which needs a quarterback to you about throwing the ball.
Um, but yeah, Horn is gonna I feel he's definitely to shoot up draft boards.
He could possibly be the number two cornerback selected in the first round.
All depending on how is, um, you know, the combine and everything, How that goes for him.
He's definitely, you know, starting people are, you know, have an eye out for him.
And, uh, I think corn and Farley are kind of close right now, though, I think Farley is just gonna hold them off just because of that speed at the like.
Once we hit the combine and people see how fast Farley runs, they're going to go nuts over him.
But I think Horn horn is looking really nice to be, especially with with Farley size to running fastest six to, you know, that that entices a lot of GM.
Um, my last guy I have, uh, is linebackers Avian Collins from Tulsa, 64 to 60.
But he lines up all over the place.
Uh, it's almost like I said, It's what we talked about before.
It's the it's kind of you know what a linebacker is? He lines up, you know, edge covered, tight ends, middle linebacker.
He's always making plays.
Um, he's a good athlete, you know, Loose hips, He has a fluidity.
He could do a whole bunch of things.
I think right now he's I've seen some marks have him in the first, but I don't see that at all.
I think he's more of a second round pick right now.
Um, kind of almost like how Jeremy Chin went second.
I could definitely see that, but he has the range to play all over the place.
Um, it's almost like a Like I said, the Isaiah Simmons, like those kind of players, defensive coordinators love because they can put him them so many different places, no matter what kind of team they play.
So I think that's a big thing.
And, uh, you know, toe watch him, uh, this week, just because he's making plays a game in and game out.
So he's definitely got to keep an eye on.
Yeah, he had that pick six pick six last week, and over time he's got, I think, 44 picks on the season.
Great cover, linebacker.
I think he slides in like end of the first round.
Yeah, he's got 49 tackles, two forced fumbles, 6.
5 tackles for loss, four sacks, four interceptions, two touchdowns.
He just stuffs the statute, uh, statue.
He's just, you know, he's in the box score all the time.
Um, but, you know, there's kind of you know who you should keep an eye on this weekend, you know, draft time starting to heat up.
Now, we're gonna be here.
Um, every single Friday, Um, around 999 15.
Uh, you know, we'll be breaking it down next week.
We're gonna do our mock top 10 again.
We're gonna go in the running back rankings.
There's a lot of talented running backs this year, Uh, to keep an eye on eso.
We're gonna do that.
