What's up, everyone? I'm compare Champ Sports here.
I am a new broadcast.
And today I am doing a stream about 2020 MBA frequency as it's now pretty much wrapping up and the biggest winners and losers off the 2020 MBA free agency period.
Um, so I've been doing some free agency videos.
I did one about the Lakers.
What about the Rockets? And now just putting it all together, The biggest winners and the biggest losers of 2020 NBA free agency.
I'm not factoring the draft, not traffic injuries.
I'm not factoring the off season or the trades, Just free agent.
Thank you. That's much for Evans to join the broadcast.
Just free agency.
Just free agency.
Um, so, yeah, I'm also gonna put them in the chat.
So in case people join and I don't have to repeat myself and I could just, um as I have a couple winners and a couple losers.
Seven winners, six losers, to be exact.
And, um, I'm gonna say why they're winners and losers. Obviously.
Um, you know, I'm just doing teams.
I'm not doing players because I kind of get kind of.
I'm just doing teams.
So, yeah, let's just start off with our first winner of the video.
And that is that the first winner, which is actually kind of a surprising winner in my eyes.
But the first winner is the 70.
Sixers 76 is get our first winner.
Uh, kind of surprising.
But here's the thing the 70 Sixers actually got off our Horford's rid contract, which was they actually got off the contract, which is one of the worst contracts in the league.
They did lose some people.
Um, Josh Richardson got trade to the Mavericks, but they got Seth Curry, and they didn't mean much defense they did not need, Like so much defense they have.
They needed spacing desperately, and getting one of the best three point shooters in the league is one way to do it.
Um, they also got Dwight Howard to replace the Al Horford role and be a good back of Joel and being I mean, Kyle O Quinn just won't cut it.
Um, for a team that's trying to come that's trying to win a championship sometime soon.
Thank you Act adventure offer during the broadcast.
Much appreciate it.
Kyle O Quinn just won't cut it.
Unfortunately, because he's not Dwight Howard is a would be a great backup to Joel Embiid.
Um, I know Seth Curry is technically traded to the team, but it's kind of also free agency, period.
So they got they got Steph Curry.
Um, they haven't had a great draft, but I'm not gonna get into that because it really doesn't matter.
But just getting those two additions that makes them winners.
That will really help.
Daryl Morey knows what this guy's.
Daryl Morey knows what he's doing to Philly.
The Heat. They are a winner for sure.
They're my first winter.
The Philadelphia 70 Sixers are my first winner, surprisingly, But with the new GM, they make some good decisions.
They didn't give Tobias, Harris and Max now, however, Semak, but trading for spacings they needed it was Daryl.
Morey loves spacing and getting a better backup center for cheap.
Getting off that Al Horford contract.
Getting some pics, uh, getting Danny Green as well.
Get some more spacing from getting get some more spacing with Danny Green as well.
I am, um, also don't really lose much of defense because you add some defense as well and some veteran presence.
So the Philadelphia 70 Sixers are winners now.
The first loser is the first loser is the You could think this has part to do with the draft, but actually not like their main losers, like you may reason why you think this is.
Our losers are in the draft, but it's actually not.
The losers are the Chicago Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls are my first loser simply because yes, they drafted Patrick Williams could have definitely been a reach, and they could have definitely trade down and get him.
But the fact that you're a team that's trying, they might even be competing for a playoff spot next year.
You're a team like that.
You're a young team. You need a lot of help.
You are supposed you're supposed to get assets in phrase you with a lot of cap space.
I mean, you do have auto reporter, um, auto porters, big contract, but still, you're supposed to do something and you lose Chris done to the Hawks.
But the fact that the Bulls did not do a single thing is kind of shocking.
The Bulls needed to do something and they literally didn't gain anyone.
And they lost Chris done.
So they basically got a bit worse at that point guard position.
Um, that's all I got to say.
I mean, that's he didn't do.
They didn't do much for a team that actually needed to do something.
That's that's That's the reason why, um, they are losers.
By the way, Nesmith's Ravens, the Nets aren't a winner or a loser, by the way, because they have too much in free agency.
They re signed Joe Harris, but they're not a winner or a loser.
If you wanted to know that, Um, but all right, so our next winner going back to the winners now, this was a team that actually might be surprising and call a winner, but actually is a winner.
They lose one of their key guys, would get a replacement and get some more and gets better.
Oh, yeah, that's all we needed to Dio. Yeah.
The next winner we have is the put in the Shatt.
It's an l A team.
It's the Clippers.
So this is why I'm considering the Clippers a winner they did lose mantra is Harold to their crosstown rival.
Which kind of things, Yeah, I get that they lost him, but they the additions that they made are low key.
Underrated, They added.
Serge Ibaka, which I believe is better for the team, gives you more defense down low, give you more shooting.
He's a veteran, and I, like search about a lot more than I like monsters, Harold for the team and just as a basketball player trading Landry Chamakh for Luke Kennard.
Better shooting better, more offense.
Defensively, they're both kind of lackluster.
So you really don't get a downgrade at that end, you gotta upgraded center.
You basically just swap two things that you lost in Landry Sham it.
And, um Landry, Shaman and mantra zero.
You got better editions from it.
It get guys that fits you, fits you, Maura, and getting Serge Ibaka getting Luke Kennard.
Um, not to mention they actually had a good draft, but we're not gonna put that into perspective.
Um, they also lost writing McGruder, but they had enough wings anyway.
Oh, they have their God, Terence man, who I think would be pretty solid.
Maybe in the future.
Um, so And, um so thank you.
Lakers loyal for doing the broadcast.
Um, so the clippers are winners because they got upgrades at, um, you might thought Think mantra is better than search, but certainly better than mantra.
But I think he is.
And I think he's more valuable.
Better shooter, better defender.
They got a good restudy.
Marcus Morris is also a big plus for them getting Marcus Morris back in town.
So that's a winner for me.
The Clippers are actually winner for me, all right? The next loser and one of the bigger losers.
They did make more additions than they actually lost, but the additions that they made our kind of mind blowing it's the Charlotte Hornets.
Look, I love Gordon Hayward.
I like corny, but I never loved Gordon Hayward.
But I like Gordon Hayward.
But come Yes, he got a 34.
He was making $34 million a year in Boston.
He was on player option.
We thought he'd be an All Star again.
Obviously, he had a gruesome leg injury.
Yes, they did draft Lemelle a ball.
You you signed Gordon Hayward for three years, 120 before years, four years.
It was three years.
Before years, 120 million, You had so much cap and you spend it on a guy who's been injury prone is getting older.
And even when If he drops 20 what will he do? You'll be at the verge of making the playoffs at best.
Why do you want him to be your best player getting paid over 30 year at the age of 33 30 32 33? He's injury prone.
He's regressing and he'll score.
He's like he's He's a decent defender.
He's getting paid like some of the top players in the N B A.
Yes, yeah, you could have used your cap so much more wisely.
Instead, use the cover.
Gordon Hayward, who I admit, Ah, lot of he's valuable and actually a couple of teams.
You're trying to pay him 20 year, which wasn't be like okay, that might be ish, but like it's not true.
The four years 120 is pretty bad.
It is pretty bad for a guy, um, his talent and his, um he's working this, that is, that's not the best contract at all.
You couldn't use your cab more wisely.
That's a good draft.
I'll give them credit for that.
But, um, they lost Willy Hernangomez to the pelicans and their big that center position.
They got Nick Richards in the draft, but that center position is still with Cody Zeller, not even Willy Hernangomez anymore.
You could have addressed that you could have.
Now I'm looking at N B A player movement right now, like it's a it's, um, where every each team, um, guys went.
But it's I don't think it's not even showing me the, um, Gordon Hayward, um, thing hold up.
They also waive Nicolas Batum, by the way, which he will still make less money.
So that's how they that they couldn't have got Gordon Hayward.
If it wasn't for that, they couldn't have got Gordon Hayward if they did not wave Nicolas Batum.
But that's my loser on.
That's my loser.
What? One of my losers.
Okay, the next winner is a team that I think had a good pre like one of the best off seasons.
Yeah, the Atlanta Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks is, um is definitely winner in my eyes because they got so, so, so much better.
And not only if they added, um, a lot to their team.
Um, so they get So they basically got Ah, young core.
They have a lot of good players.
The 100 100 cam, reddish trae, young John Collins.
Um, you draft on Yucca, Congo with your *** pic, but you get you after the boxes fill a sign and trade with Baghdad.
Bogdanovich did not work out.
You snag in for your 72 million, but that's like 18 million year.
You get him, but he'll play in your death with Kevin Herder.
You get Rajon Rondo and Chris done, Um, and you get, um, you sign Gallo a sign and trade one of the more underrated players in the entire N B A.
You sign him off a sign in trade and okay, listen to this.
With the starting lineup next year, Starting lineup trade.
Young Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Herder most likely Bogdanovich because Bogdanovich is like more shooting.
Um, so yeah, most likely Bogden Bogdanovich, um, you treat got Tony Snell who's a good just role player for you.
Trae Young, bottom of Ghana.
You get Gallo, you You have John Collins.
You have Gallinari.
But getting, um, you put a Gallinari played the three before he was in, uh, the Clippers or the or the thunder.
He played this three in Denver.
He'll play that again.
You could play that again.
East is getting pretty good, though.
I'm not lying with the next.
Coming back with the bucks.
The Heat, the Celtics, the Raptors, the Pacers, the 70 Sixers.
Oh, I can see it may be the Wizards.
That's the only team with the healthy John Wall.
If it's not, I feel like they could get that eighth spot.
Yeah, Thank you.
Jane and Steph for during the broadcast.
Much appreciate it.
Um, so, yeah, off your you get your center would be Would be, uh, Clint Capela.
You have Clint Capela stuff off your bench.
You got Rajon Rondo.
Kristen, your point cards? Yeah, Kevin Herder or buying my gun.
But whoever's coming off your bench you have Anucha Ah, Kong grew and that's it that I asked.
Really? Oh, my God, No.
You have DeAndre hunter and camera dish.
That is such a deep squad, and that's a winner for me now.
A loser over this offseason is not that I feel like how many people are talking about them as a loser, but they're actually like a loser because they lost lots and didn't gain anything.
It is Sacramento Kings.
They got a great draft.
They had Tyree's Halliburton, Robert Woodward, jammies, Ramsey.
That's incredible draft.
But you lost a They are.
Oh, yeah, he's not the one year deal, but still still still.
I mean, they lose.
Ken pays more volume. Bogdanovich.
They completely, completely did not work that like that.
But if that book's that trade work, I'd consider that a win for the Kings.
You have Donte DiVincenzo or something, your sofa and picks.
So that's a win for the Kings.
We got bogged down with.
You screwed that up, and now you don't even have a sign Trade.
It's just a match.
They didn't match it loose.
Campaign zero to the Warriors.
Lose Bogdanovich to the Hawks.
Lose Harry Jobs to the Blazers.
You got the song? White side, right? Well, how much will that really change you? Not a lot.
He's not a chain game changing player.
He's a solid, good rebounder and a good shot clock.
And you got about a one year deal, which is fine.
If they got him on, like, a 34 year deal, then I'd be like, What are they doing? But one year deals one, um, so losers didn't really gain much from what they actually lost, and they lost some valuable pieces as well.
All right, The next winner is a huge winner, and I've already talked about them, so I'm not gonna I'm gonna keep it brief.
The Lakers? Uh, yes.
They lost Dwight Howard to the Philadelphia 70 Sixers.
They lost Danny Green, Thio Philadelphia 70 Sixers.
And they lost JaVale McGee to the Cavaliers.
And, um, they lost every rally to the Miami Heat.
What? Getting Dennis Sugar off trade Wesley Matthews to replace Danny Green and a better big man rotation from Dwight Howard to end JaVale McGee, toe Marc Gasol or winning champion great defender and can stretch the floor and pretty decent rate mantra.
Is Harold raining? Sixth man of the year when Yeah, All right.
The next loser on the next loser here is the next loser is the Toronto Raptors for this simple reason.
They lose search Ibaka and they lose Marc Gasol.
Yes, they resigned for advantage, Lee.
But from what it's worth, I love Freddie had a great year.
Um, I love Freddie.
Had a great year, but four years, 85 million.
He's gonna be the lead guard.
He is a six at the end of the day, is still a 6 ft shooting guard.
Um, and he still can't Really He had a he had a pretty much went all in on Freddie.
And I'm not saying that Ibaka is a better player than Fred Friendly, but if they had to bring back someone, I'd say try to get maybe not pay so much for family If he did not.
If he was, like spoiling Thio to take a step up.
Ah, less of a contract and try to get Ibaka.
Ibaka should have been your first priority.
Because if you're losing your big men, you lost Ibaka and you lost Gasol.
You get Aaron Baynes.
But still, it was Ibaka and you lose the gasol.
Now you spend all your money on this two point guard lineup.
Don't really have a big man, you have Chris Boucher and you got Aaron Baynes.
But getting Ibaka and Boucher maybe even getting Baines in the mix as well and trying to go after vanvleet, they could have just got Ibaka because Ibaka didn't sign for much the Clippers.
And I knew I I had a feeling Ibaka was going to take less.
So you try to get in Ibaka and then try to get family.
Then that would have been perfect for them.
But since they lost out on boxing and Gasol now lose.
Okay, next one we got the next winner is a team that I talked about two days ago.
Now that Harden and Westbrook Yes, they still they still haven't found a way to trade in it.
I don't think they will be traded, which they could have just looked for.
They might have found their saviors at the center position with Christian Water and DeMarcus cousins.
I talked about this two days ago.
A whole discussion is Christian Would might be that perfect center stretch.
The floor Reverend can play in the low post.
Could be a lob threat.
And Marcus cousins, even if he's not his old self, for $2.
3 million for one year is still a cheap cost.
He can. He's a hustler.
He's a tough player.
He constructs the floor a few plays, good defense.
That's that's why there are winners.
That's why they're winners and also didn't lose much.
They didn't lose much as well.
And they still are gonna be contenders.
They're still gonna be contenders in that Western conference.
So, um, they did lose Robert coming to him.
But like they had a lot of wings, the house, I'd lose Jeff Green.
But they also wing position was definitely one thing that they didn't lack.
So losing them and getting these two big men Christian would can also play the powerful position for you.
Yeah, that that I feel like that's a win for me, right? One of the final two losers and this is not really like a huge loser.
It I just put this one team in the Pacers because they have been in the middle of the pack for so long.
Like ever since Paul George left they even even when Paul George, like, was still there.
Like last two years, they've been in the middle of the pack in the East and they haven't got better.
They haven't traded monster.
They haven't fixed the problems that they needed to fix.
They haven't done it.
They were actually pretty close.
I'm a Celtics fan, but I did not like this from the any age.
Uh, they're pretty close aside And Trevor Gory hatred with Myles Turner.
However, Myles Turner.
Doug McDermott for Gordon Hayward.
If I was a Celtics fan, I do that didn't he didn't want to and said he wanted.
He's gonna accept on Lee if he gives a Victor Oladipo or T. J. Warren.
And if I'm the Pacers, call it off.
So, yeah, you have to do that.
But you other than that, I know you tried to focus on the sign and trade, but you didn't do anything.
You did not do anything.
So that's why you're loser, all right.
One of the Final two winners and a huge winner in my eyes, which would really be a game changer for them.
Portland Trail Blazers.
For this one simple reason that, um, you got Robert Covington, which is perfect, gets, um, defense up there.
Get some shooting, and that's is perfect.
A perfect player for Damian Lillard.
Yet Harry Jolles, who you snagged, Um, you lose Salt White site.
That's perfectly fine.
Justin developed getting in this cancer, which is a kind, just a doubt.
Uh, I was supposed to downgrade from Hassan Whiteside, but his defense, definitely not getting use of Nurkic, who is use of Anarchy, is your main defender.
He's a great defender.
He's your guy in the paint.
He's your guy in the paint.
Robert Covington Steel, Derrick Jones Jr Project Loose Trevor Ariza, but I'm taking it.
I'll take losing Trevor Rees and Mario Hezonja.
But getting Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr and Harry Johnson and his cancer That's a win.
This is This is These are the perfect guys that day needs and the perfect guys.
This team needs to thrive.
That's that's how that's how I look at this.
That's how I look at these, um, movements.
That's how I look at that.
It's perfect for the Blazers is perfect for a day.
That's how I look at this, Um, for the Portland Trail Blazers.
One of the final two teams in the final.
I d g I I do not get this.
I gave you Your pistons had a in great draft, but free agency and they just didn't do it.
They lose Christian would, um, they lose Christian would off a sign trade for the rockets.
Get some pigs, get Trevor Reza.
They get I don't know.
Um, you added a couple of players.
You did? You did.
You added some couple players, but you the front court position? Yeah. Jerry Grant.
Yeah, I was gonna talk about that. Jeremy Graham.
I love Jeremy Grant.
I really dio I thought he was going to get He's worth more than nine million, which he declined his player option.
But you're spending 20 year for Jordan Graham, which is for a guy that's yet to prove himself really fully on the offensive end.
That's a bit much for me.
That's a bit much getting you getting.
Mason Plumlee? Yeah.
Julia Local four.
Get Mason Plumlee get Julia local for Yeah, Mason Plumlee on a pretty long term contract.
Jalil Okafor And it just it simply fails to add up for me.
It's just you read it so fully on the front court, get Rodney McGruder.
But also, you didn't.
It's not like you just gained You lost so many guards and got so many forwards, which already had they overpaid for everyone they signed.
And you lost Bruce Brown, which was kind of at the beginning.
Um, you, um you lose through canary, get Lander Sham it, uh, You lose Tony Snell, you lose.
Christian would not The best free agency for the Pistons.
Just not poor management And the final winner, which you could consider a loser considering this offseason.
But free agency wise, they're winners.
Uh, trading that this was mainly not free agency.
Those just training, um, but still part of the free agency period.
Um, our final winner in the final team that will actually be discussing today is, um Oh, my God. Quiet.
Yes, The Golden State Warriors.
Uh, yeah, they did.
I forgot they got Depay. Never mind.
So they got to go.
See, we have to go and say, um okay, worst.
There they are. Losers.
Um, there are losers like in the off season because Clay Thompson got injured things out for the season.
But what they did to make up for its pretty good Kelly you great toe make up for Clay.
Thompson's injury is certainly not bad.
Trading him for a first round pick is definitely something good.
Um, definitely good.
Um, God can based more, which would be some good shooting off the bench and defense.
And three Andy on.
That's basically it.
Those air, the my main winners and losers of the free agency.
My winners, um, are the 70 Sixers, Clippers, Hawks, Lakers, Rockets, Blazers and Warriors.
On my losers Air the Bulls, the Hornets, the Kings, the Raptors, the Pacers, the Pistons.
Some of them I don't some of them, I actually I kind of blame the management for all those, but yeah, that's gonna be it for me.
Thank you so much for watching.
I will be back. Maybe.
Yes. Sparkle Sunday.
Could be a champs sports here.
Thank you so much for watching, uh, Anthony Davis hasn't signed yet, but I'm pretty sure the Lakers
