Yo, yo, yo, what is up? What is up? What is up? Welcome back, toe.
Wake up call with every sports show on SportsCastr live.
How you doing? How you doing? What is good? Everybody, uh, doing the show on a Saturday special Saturday edition instead of Friday.
What will be back doing the show in our usual Monday morning slot? Ah, lot of things to get to a lot of things to get to in the sports world.
But first off, I want to get to Mike Taison and Roy Jones Jr.
The fight is finally happening today.
You know what it has been? We've been waiting for this one for a long time to happen, and I know in Well, in general in general, the fact that we didn't get Roy Jones against Mike Tyson back in the day is amazing in itself.
But the fact that we're getting get it now at some level, I still think it's kind of cool.
And of course, this is the fight's going to be on the trailer app, but I know most they're gonna just watch it online or on some are someone's periscope account.
So anyways run down it is technically on exhibition about 82 minute rounds.
They're gonna be fighting with 12 ounce gloves.
And the official had said originally there was a no knockdown rule originally.
But now it's been meaning to say that, Yes, you can't have a knockout in this fight.
Yeah, but no, not there.
No knockout rule.
Yeah, you can have knockouts now, but everybody involved, except the actual guys fighting after that, they should not be going for a knockout.
Good luck telling John.
Good luck telling Roy Jones Jr.
And Mike Tyson. Hey, guys.
Hey, you know what? Fight hard, but no knockouts.
Okay? You It's supposed to be a competitive spar, as it was deemed by, um, the commission.
But you're gonna have a hard time telling these two guys that this is going to be no more than a compared really hard sparring session for eight rounds.
You can have a very hard time and I don't know.
They've been told that anyone if anybody hurt anybody's cut the fight's over right there.
And then, But still, how How do you get in between these two and say, Yeah, it's done or say, Yeah, you guys going to harden each other.
Nothing tough fighting itself.
And I get the want to make sure he's got a thing because Mics 54 Roy Jones, 51 These are young guys.
They're both in their fifties and a really haymaker.
We're watching Mike Train.
Roy Jones was in great shape to as well.
If you look at how Mike Tyson fights, if you look at how my Taison, if he channels the old Battering Ram, I'm putting my head down coming towards you, my Taison.
If that's Mike Tyson of the eighties and nineties and even early 2000, my Thais Nat was putting dudes on their back.
Within three rounds.
His last riel riel real knockout win was against Cliff Ettien.
If he's coming in like that and beating dude in 98 seconds, I don't care.
Mike 54 The clearheaded drugs free Mike Taison The clear of mine Mike Taison is a scary thing to think about Mike Tyson.
Those directions in a boxing ring.
Oh, my goodness! Oh my goodness.
And I'll be watching.
I'm gonna watch it.
You better believe I'm watching this tilt.
It'll be fun to watch, but also to Roy Jones.
He's someone who he's formally retired, remember Roy last 4 to 2018 and got a win.
But for a long time, Roy was struggling out there.
When Roy was trying to fight at 46 47 48 he was like Bernard Hopkins stealing belts.
Roar was taking some hellacious knockouts in his late forties.
I hope I hope that that time off that that, too, that too near three retirement has done his body some good to recover and recover what made him so great there? Because Roy Jones he would elude you.
He would dare you to throw a punch and counter punch with the best of them, So I want to see how he does.
I've seen some time off after 2018 retirement, so if you want to do a really old school, though, you wanna be really old school with Roy Jones.
What he should do is play pro basketball game before the fight and then come to the ring.
That's what you should do.
Find a random pro ball league playing right now and go playing that and then go box like he used to do, like he used to do in the in the U. S. B.
Roy Jones was that much of a G.
He would played pro basketball on the same day he used to box in the nineties.
Who would do that Now? Who would ever try something like that ever again? That swagger right there that is incredible, anyways.
And also on that card of the other fights and current I want to get to that that I think you guys really want to know about is, of course, Nate Rott.
Like the cruise away about that is involving Nate Robinson.
Yes, that's Nate Robinson, the NBA player.
The X called football player fighting Jake Paul the YouTuber.
It's such a it's not fight.
You expect to ever happen in 2020 or anywhere in the world.
But yeah, this is gonna happen as Jake Paul, Jake Logan, Paul are trying toe turn themselves into legitimate professional boxers.
And it's a crudely about where, Yeah, Jake Paul is second career fight is going to take on hate Robinson, and it'll be in 1/6 round about 12 ounce gloves.
No headgear and it'll be a really boxing match will be no rules of you know, don't do.
This is a real fight between these two guys.
If you see how that one goes over.
Paul is one is, you know, he's, um He hasn't really facing legitimate fighters yet.
But the Paul brothers.
I'm talking about wanting to feel wine Thio.
I wanted to fight real boxers really made fighters, so that'll be hell.
I could be different than fighting an MBA player and other youtubers, so All right, we'll see what happens with that.
I'm gonna go get my money on Nate Robinson toe win in that about and also, we're gonna get to other.
We're getting some football.
Here is, well, college and NFL.
I want to say this much this morning because what's gonna happen today in college football is a really cool thing.
If you've been paying attention to Vanderbilt football, they're gonna have their Yeah, over this season that I built had a tough year, the and seven and they were losing the kicker.
The kickers are out with Kovar 19.
So Sarah Fuller from the Vanderbilt women's soccer team is going to suit up as Vanderbilt's kicker and she'll be making history as the first kicker to play for a Power five Conference team, which I love, and we'll see if he gets in the game.
Because Vanderbilt this year has not been a great team.
They've struggled to get into the red zone.
They haven't had any many field goal attempts, period, so we'll see if she gets in.
But if she does, I think it'd be really cool to see.
And yeah, she would be the She'll be the first woman to play in a power five team suit up and hopefully score points.
It should get a chance to kick field goals.
Let me really cool to see if that opportunity comes as Vanderbilt take some Missouri.
But what I find so dumb is the constant.
What if the snap gets away from the holder? What if she's talking all the kicks blocks and it happened in the football player? She is a football player and both codes of soccer and football there.
I'm gonna treat it differently and she is tough to the goalkeeper.
You gotta be tough to play a position in soccer and people are trying to put these scenarios out there that happen rarely happened once every 20 or 30 games as if they want to happen.
It's really weird.
Settle down and quit trying to look for reasons for women to not play college football.
But what I do hope going forward that, you know, we have these women who play football who have proven that they can be a punter or a place kicker.
What have you and going forward, It's not a really good point.
There shouldn't be going forward on emergency situation.
There shouldn't be a situation where you know we have no one else left.
Who else can kick women who can should be consideration more often? This, but I still think that it's great.
It would be cool to see if she can get a chance to play if Vanderbilt offense does get into field goal range.
So best of luck to her, that's going to be so cool watching.
Watching, You know, I think like most people, you don't really tuned into Vanderbilt football, usually even on early Sunday.
But even even Saturday, and even if you watch a lot of SEC football, I'm even Canada.
I don't need a lot of people in Canada who are watching Vanderbilt.
So I think that's gonna change.
To see how to see how she does in just over an hour for that game that kicks off in the mountain time zone.
I mean, I'm gonna enjoy it.
Best of luck. Tour.
Best of luck to Sarah Fuller and, well, and the football talk by going back to NFL Thanksgiving games.
Thanksgiving Day games. Wow.
So since thesis Steelers Ravens game is now a Tuesday night game, you only had Washington in Dallas and Houston.
Detroit, Houston, Detroit.
Yeah, Matt, I I don't notice it about the Dallas Cowboys anymore.
I mean, the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Lions under my Patricia are not good.
There's a team that could tin used to struggle.
They continue to throw.
They can stop anybody defensively.
Supposedly this defensive guru when he came over from the Patriots, and so far, where has it been? Where has it been on the map? Patricia era as the Lions head coach? And you're seeing how his coaching style you're seeing how he's trying to do these little cheeky things, like a Bill Belichick or trying to pull the Bill Belichick attitude and you can't You can't be arrogant.
You can't do this on the third when you're not winning.
He's 12, 25 1 as the head coach, as horrible, like, Yeah, you are died, Marty Morning.
Way you are, Marty Morning Way in the Social media era.
That is a horrible record and the truth.
I don't know where they're gonna go now because Detroit, sputtering once again at in that division, did not winning and winning NFC North.
They will be lucky if they get back into the wild card spot.
Race idea clock is ticking hard now on my Patricia.
You know you're not getting much more leash after what happened on Thanksgiving 1000 Churches efforts.
That was an atrocious effort against the Houston Texans, a team that, of course, Latina itself itself has had so many issues this year.
We know that we know how they used to start the year off.
We know how to do a Brian era ended, so you go down, you give up 40 you lose 41 25 41 41 25 to Houston Texans who are right now under the speed of Romeo Coronel on interim head coach who has been around for a long time in this game.
But I don't know what.
The Texans are gonna stick with Romeo Crennel for long, but still, you will allow 41 points with Texans team.
That's not good.
I've got some people to chat here.
Uh, Sean goes to Portland's here.
Blue Jay Don is here a lot of questions around the Lions team right now, and a lot of aspects.
Who's going to stay and who's gonna go when it comes time for the off season and in 2021 and then I get.
And then that Washington Dallas game The Cowboy.
First of all, I got to say KU, kudos to Alex Smith.
The Washington football team right now leads the NFC East, the Washington football team and Alex Smith.
We said before we knew the idea is that the perception was that Alex Smith is going to come here in 2020 and even though he said he wanted to play, most had said, You know, Alex, you're back clipboard guy. Cool. Be the mentor.
Then things change.
He's a starter again on this ball club and he's winning.
And he has Washington in a place where, there on top of the division and as much of your Tauron because you see how his leg it and you don't want to take another shot, that bad leg, seeing him ball out and seeing him get that W on the road where Washington 1 41 to 16, is a cool sight to see, considering where he was two years ago, where there was real concern he was going to lose that right leg.
Do the infections.
Alex Smith of the guy.
You cannot help but root for Alex Smith as Kobe Beef. 20.
You can't help but feel happy for Alex Smith.
As much as you know what he's gone through, what do you see? What he's gone through and how much you want your turn and play football again.
I can't do anything but cheer for the guy.
And if Washington gets in, if he can lead Washington to a postseason berth, if they get a playoff win, I will be over the moon.
Happy for him, for him and for Ron Rivera, for what he's gone through this year, battling cancer while still coaching his football club.
Yes, it is the team which one controversy.
And, yes, I want dance cider out of here in the worst way.
I think we all do with what's going on with that franchise.
But I want I want to feel good for Ron Rivera and Frolic Smith if they win.
Not for the insider.
No, no, no, no, no.
Those two deserve happiness.
That Snyder, I hope you lose that franchise.
I hope you lose that I will be gets full on.
I hope he gets full of all sterling from the NFL.
So hey, on my take on it.
If you have any comments on that, please try him up and in on the comment section here on SportsCastr Live for for a wake up, Call it a sports show.

So I'll be cool Anyways.
We wrap things up here with talk on Toronto.
There's Lynn plans the future of the Toronto Blue Jays we're gonna play.
It appears that the include playing at Rogers Center Forever and Ever amen is been discussed.
The idea of and plans for demolition off Roger Center.
Interesting to see that it's finally coming out there is getting put going public that their plans to demolish Roger Center in Toronto in downtown and build a smaller ballpark, along with condos, shops and kind of a new district in the area.
So I wonder what the timeline is.
I wonder what the plans are for a timeline for when it comes to, um, demolition, rebuilding and groundbreaking this new stadium in Toronto.
So I wanna dio interesting, but the footprint is gonna be tight.
I know there's been discussions off E. No.
People have been talking about building a new stadium right beside the old stadium like what happened in ST Louis, where new Busch Stadium was built beside old Busch Stadium.
But if you have been to Toronto, there's no much land between Roger Center and other condos.
It's a tight footprint of land, so we've been talking for.
People have suggested it been discussed building a new stadium on the water for near the waterfront.
But the new, which is, um, there's a little more room to build a stadium by, so we'll see how that works out.
We'll see how what happens there.
But roger center, you know, you knew it was gonna come.
You know, time is gonna come where you need a new stadium there.
Because Roger Center is a relic from the eighties, it doesn't have a ton of modern amenities compared to stadiums like what you see in San Diego or other modern ballparks.
It's locking is locking.
It's been around for 31 years.
Some things have to change it.
The roof is not really used to be any more.
Truth is now outdated.
Fans want a modern ballpark and clear that. Now.
The Blue Jays and Rodgers want that, too.
So we'll see what happens.
And I'm sure we'll hear about a timeline for demolition and getting into a new stadium built.
Personally, I think I think maybe we'll see if it has been discussed.
It had been planned, has been discussed.
It's clear that internally is on your timeline.
You know what it could be sooner than what we know.
It could be sooner than what we've been told.
For all we know, they might say, Hey, last year, the Jays and Roger Center is going to be 2024.
We don't know for 2025 because, personally, my mentality of thinking, Oh, they'll they'll say they're gonna get them out of there by 2027.
No, it could be 2024 earlier than we think, So we'll see what the plans are.
I'm sure we'll get more information coming out so as to what's gonna happen as to where the Jays will play and what the new ballpark will be like.
So, anyways, we're out of here. We're done.
Enjoy your weekend gang.
We'll talk to you all again on Monday morning.
