All right, so on this show, we talk Iowa Hawkeyes, and we talked gambling real simple, real quick.
We're gonna start off with the Iowa verse Penn State game that happened last Saturday.
Final score was 41 21.
Iowa went in the Happy Valley and e mean there weren't any fans there, but bigger, terribly shut the place up, Um, just really quietly went about and dominated the game from start to finish.
But the Iowa, they just they're really doing anything fancy.
They kind of stumbled off out of the gate, lost their first two now and then they got back to playing Iowa football, pounding the run and playing dominant defense.
And they've just been carrying it away.
UH, performance on offense.
We had sergeant with 15 carries for 101 yards, two TDs and a 6.
7 yards per carry average.
Guy just couldn't be stopped.
The old line was absolutely ridiculous.
Linda Bomb at center is currently like top five in alignment and top one rated center in the country.
So he's just been doing a really good job.
Jackson's been doing a really good job just opening up holes for these guys.
I tell you what, As a running back, it's really easy to get like, you know, 56 yards 678 yards per carry average.
When you're getting three yards past the line of scrimmage before you have to go, run through a guy or put a Jew con.
So that's just that's huge.
Offensive line is guaranteeing them three yards every play, and the running backs are doing the rest.
Sergeant are sorry that Sergeant.
He was the main one this week.
Goodson chipped in Tyler Goods and 20 carries, 78 yards, 3.
9 yard average and a TV, and added on to that self just solid performance from the old line and the running game.
Our boy Petra's.
He's caught a lot of grief.
Sure, not all of it undeserved because he looked bad the first couple weeks in the first two games.
They lost and shout out moves I see in there anybody else got any comments, questions? Drop him in the drop him in there and keep an eye on that stuff.
But he definitely looked bad the first couple weeks or a lot of guys calling for his head.
Biggest thing with pizzerias is that he is a first year starter in a year that they did not have spring football They had a very limited summer camp on when they did get back in the fall.
Nobody knows, really exactly what cause Iowa and the Friends crew run a very closed mouth program.
But they have alluded to some guys missing practice time.
Which means they had some ish Corona related issues at the beginning of the year that they had to work through that affected practice time.
And since the third game, they've kind of pulled it together, went back to the run game and been running away with it.
Petra's 18 to 28 for 186 yards, zero TDs, zero picks.
Hey, did have a rushing touchdown.
We'll get to that in a minute now, focusing on his Q B play.
He's just he's really settled down.
He's making the easy throws.
He's hitting his targets.
I noticed three really bad throws in the gamers.
Penn State against Northwestern.
Every other throw was bad.
Just off target, missing this guy, uh, in the Penn State game, he threw one very bad pass that should have been intercepted with, got dropped so lucky to see him catch a break there because he hadn't been catching any all year, and he missed Tracy on the outside, had him open in the flat along the sideline.
Just threw it like 6.
5 ft over Has had I mean, Tracy is good, but he can't jump 6.
That's a little bit out of his reach.
And then he had Smith Mar set running down the scene for a touchdown and overthrow him by like a foot.
I mean, a lot of people.
It's kind of quiet down now that they're winning.
But when they were losing, a lot of people were saying Ben's Petrus and you look at throws like that where he is just barely off.
He probably has.
I'd have to go back and watch tape, which I don't have time to do.
But 4 to 6, 40 plus yard touchdowns that he had.
A guy opened either going down the side or going down the stream and he just overthrew him by a foot like the guy almost got a hand on it.
He just couldn't quite pull it in and I mean, you clean up this kid's accuracy just a little bit and he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Until then, just keep putting the load on the offensive line and letting the running backs carry the load.
Theofanis of line and the running backs.
The line is freaking dominant.
They just beat up on Penn State all day and the running backs.
They run people over and by halfway through the third quarter, nobody wants to tackle them anymore.
They're just sick of seeing them.
Speaking of people that they were sick of seeing, Peters had a like two yard TD run.
Something like that.
He took the snap, started to hit the gap.
It started to close up and pot a bomb.
The fullback he came through, put his shoulder pad in the middle of Petraeus's back and basically carried him up and shoved him through eight guys to get him into the end zone.
It panda bomb had himself a game.
I don't think there was a single Hawkeye name called by the broadcasting team.
More than paid a bomb.
He was crushing blocks.
He came through the hole and devastated the middle linebacker on.
I think it was one of Goodson's longer runs.
Uh, one of Sargent's TDs.
He just came in and took out a lineman like it was nothing and just ran it.
Just locked him up, threw a perfect block on him.
Sprung sergeant in for the TV on the guy was everywhere and had a great game.
He even got in on the passing game, caught one reception for two yards.
I realized that's not much, but he's in Iowa. Fullback.
He's supposed to block and ****ing a Did he block? It was ****ing beautiful to watch.
I just slow down a little bit here.
Boys struck a little bit Beer, smoke, a little bit smoke.
We got kind of Yeah, keep it.
Keep the pace down just a little bit.
I tend to get a little excited talking Iowa.
So for those years, I didn't catch the first one.
Uh, my week spent a little ****ed i e was halfway through the live stream of the other show.
I run on the stream to People's XFL show, and power went out in the whole town was down for five hours.
So so far tonight, I've had family dinner and finished up the recording slash live show for the People's XFL show, and now I'm doing this one.
And then I got edit them both and get him dropped because tomorrow's Thanksgiving and I gotta go back to work on Friday.
So weeks, little cramp.
So I'm kinda flying without a script here.
So a lot to forgive me on some of the stats stuff, but moving over to the Iowa defense burst Penn State because they were freaking dominant as well.
On Lee gave up 342 yards to Penn State, who has two very good quarterbacks.
The leading rusher on the day for Penn State was starting quarterback Levis, who had 15 carries for 34 yards.
That ain't much, folks.
Oh, not much at all.
I, Penn State had a lot of questions come into this game is faras quarterback and offense, and they don't know they still don't know.
Uh, the only read.
There was a slight scare when Penn State pulled within 10, in the third quarter.
They put Clifford in Sean Clifford, who was supposed to be a really good quarterback.
Starting on coming into the season, Penn State was expected to compete with Ohio State for the East there now.
Oh, and five for the first time ever.
Hasn't ever, ever like, never happened before, so that didn't really felt through.
A lot of it's been on Clifford.
