A little bit of easy, Mac, You know I'm good for a week.
I love that you refer to it as shopping, though.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is DPM Commentary on tonight's featured stories.
The Patriots are preparing for the explosive Arizona offense D K.
Metcalf is calling for Jalen Hurts to start over.
Carson Wentz is to find Gilmore and Bill Belichick at odds.
And will this be Gilmore's last season in New England? Are the Red Sox really interested in trading for Blake Snell? Is Yasiel Puig's return to baseball? Will it be in Boston? And what a ray in Connor thankful for? That's what we're going to be discussing here tonight.
But before we do, I want to just give a really quick run down of the big headlines of today's sports world, Argentinian legend Diego Maradona tragically passed away Today at 60 years old after suffering a heart attack, the Ravens and the Steelers have moved their Thursday night game two Sunday amid Cove in 19 issues in Baltimore, the Tampa Bay Lightning have resigned Circuit Kev to a three year deal with a $4.
8 million A a v.
The MBA has postponed its 2021 All Star weekend in Indianapolis.
This report, now that the Hornets and the Celtics are working on a Hayward sign in trade.
Another tragic story. The New York Islanders.
Boy Chuck had to end his career today because of an eye injury.
The Australian sports minister says that the Australian Open most likely to be delayed.
The Atlanta Hawks have signed Bogdanovich after the Sacramento Kings failed to match the offer sheet.
And we finally got a date for the IBF middleweight championship as Triple G will be taking on sweat Murtagh on December 18th.
And where else? You guessed it Florida.
And that's the headlines of the day.
Why don't we jump right into this first story, man? Yes, sir.
So, like, the New England Patriots Selves played themselves back into playoff contention after defeating the New York Jets in the Baltimore Ravens on back to back prime time games, life in New England became more difficult after the Patriots fell to four and six, losing to the Houston Texans last Sunday.
The Patriots are now entering their first of their six most important games of the season, the Patriots preparing to face off against Kyler Murray in the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and Patriots coach Bill Belichick says that the Cardinals are explosive as anybody the Patriots have played this season.
Here's what Belichick said, he said, Quote.
They have a lot of good players.
Experienced offensive line.
Some good speed players in the passing game.
Christian Kirk to Andy Isabella, a couple of great receivers with DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald, Chase Edmunds and Kenyan Drake or Dangerous.
And the tight ends.
That's an explosive group.
That explosive group.
They have their plus the quarterback.
The Patriots will need to be their best on Sunday if they hope to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Patriots defense struggled last week against the Houston Texans surrounding 355 yards of passing when they fell 27 to 20.
Will Fuller, Brandon cooks in tight end Jordan.
Akins did most of the damage, combining for 248 of the 355 passing yards.
The Texans offense is ranked 18th in the NFL.
The Cardinals have the number one offense in the NFL, so Sunday's game will be even more difficult for the Patriots.
How confident are you that the Patriots defense can turn things around? And who needs to step up and have a big game.
Yeah, um, I'm honestly not all that confident.
I don't think it's out of the question, though, because they did stop Lamar Jackson.
You know, although I think I Lamari seven a better season than he has this year, I think they're really gonna need step on Gilmore to have a great game. J.
Jackson have a great game, their receivers a very hard to cover.
Obviously, it's DeAndre Hopkins.
I know Larry Fitzgerald's a little bit older, but Larry Fitzgerald still Larry Fitzgerald.
They still have a good running game.
Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmunds Air Great 12 punch.
And I think Kyler Murray is harder as hard as anybody in the entire league to stop when he starts running the football, it's gonna be tough.
Confident is a bold word.
I think they have a chance.
I think they can slow them down a bit, but I think it's gonna be on the offense to score a lot of points because their best bet is to just slow them down.
They're not going to stop him, so you're going in opposite direction and saying instead of somebody on the defense stepping up.
The offense needs to step up in match.
Arizona point for point.
Yes, well, I mean, I also think that they need to try and slow down Hopkins and Fitzgerald, and that's gonna be on step on Gilmore.
That's gonna be on J.
Jackson if they can kind of contain them.
And that kind of more worry about Kyler Murray worry about stopping the run, the best that they can.
I think they could slow him down, but they're gonna need to score points to win this game.
I don't think they could score 17 points and have any sort of chance going off of memory.
I believe that's the fun.
Gilmore had did a pretty good job against DeAndre Hopkins last season.
Last season, he did a good job against everybody, except in the last game of the season.
Yeah, when he got, uh, Miami when he got a beat up a little bit.
I'm also going to say it's a little bit of a difference to find Gilmore than we're used to asses well this year.
So look, if the Patriots went on Sunday, you will be given away a Jake Bailey autograph.
And if that tweet gets 100 likes and 50 retweets and the Patriots win, I will be given away a J.
Kobe Myers, Jersey.
Big weekend Pff have now given the Patriots a 7% chance of making the playoffs.
If you're gonna be completely transparent right now, do you think the Patriots could actually pull off this victory this Sunday? You know what? If they do, I think that those odds go astronomically through the roof.
I think of course they can when they can always win.
I would never just write the Patriots office that they're automatically gonna lose any game.
I thought that they were gonna lose.
I think I gave a 20% chance to beat the Ravens.
I think this this week it's about the same.
It's about a 20% chance.
Oh, I mean, likely it's gonna be very hard for them to win, But that doesn't mean they can't, you know.
And if they do, this is the hardest game left on the schedule, I think.
Did you get Ben's opinion on this game over on Carter commentary? I did not.
Oh, so we don't know if he's gonna have to be eating crow or not this week, that zoo he don't eat the crow.
Last week That was good.

So I want to get into this other story here that's coming out of Philadelphia and Seattle.
The Philadelphia head coach, Doug Peterson, suggested that the team might look for ways to involve Jalen Hurts.
Uh, in this Eagles offense going forward, he said, quote, I think I can get him in the game a little bit more.
Uh, it was an ugly year, for it's been a nug Lee year for Carson Wentz.
The 27 year old leads the NFL with 14 interceptions and 10 fumbles.
Whence has also been sacked a league high 40 times, though some of those have been his own fault.
Responding to a random INSTAGRAM poll about the Eagles potentially starting hurts over whence at quarterback D.
Metcalf weighed in with his own feelings and responded to that tweet, saying, Yes, interesting.
Philadelphia's next matchup comes against Metcalf in the Seahawks.
They will be facing off on Monday for Week 12, and it will be interesting to see if when still gets to start in that one Now.
Then again, Eagles coach Doug Peterson has already expressed his confidence in the M batted quarterback, so barring some unforeseen eased its unforeseen change of heart.
Went should be in the starting lineup against Matt Catherine.
Company now Connor Carson Wentz was drafted second overall in 2016 behind Jared Goff.
There was a time that people believe the Rams made a mistake by taking Gough and not taking Wentz four years later.
Did the Rams make the right decision? Who? That's hard to say, man.
Carson Wentz usedto look really good.
A couple of years ago, he had a few great seasons in a row.
Obviously, he basically took them to the Super Bowl verse.
The Patriots and then Nick Foles obviously stepped in, and we don't want to talk about what happened from there.
But this season for him has been a disaster.
Like you said, I think it was what, 14 picks and 10 fumbles? Is that Is that what it waas? What were you frozen If frozen that boy, There we go.
You back have to edit, have to edit that out of the podcast.
I was saying it was 14 picks and 10 fumbles, right? Yeah, 14 interceptions, 10 fumbles, Yeah, 24 turnovers is a disaster.
I mean, at this point, I don't know how you keep the guy out there, especially when they're in a playoff run.
Why not see what the kid has? But I think it's very interesting that Metcalfe decided to comment on that.
It was, and we're gonna get to that in a second.
I think I missed some of your answer.
Did the Rams make the right decision taking Jared Goff? I think so, Yeah, it was.
It was difficult to think about that a few years ago because once was doing so well.
But Jared Goff is also gone to a Super Bowl, and while he's been somewhat inconsistent, he's also had some flashes of greatness.
I mean, he's had some games where he looks phenomenal, and then a week later I have 172 yards and three picks.
But I think so far gospel in the better quarterback of the two over the span of the four years now, from a Patriots fan perspective, if Bill Belichick would have drafted Carson Wentz and he was playing the way he is now, what would have been the reaction by the media and the fan base, Twitter would basically be calling for not only for him to be fired.
They'd probably be calling for his head.
They'd be all over and the media wouldn't be much better.
Some of the media might kind to stick up for him, but most of them would be throwing him under the bus and then backing the bus up over him.
So after the Eagles won the 2017 Super Bowl Lane, Johnson started doing rounds on podcasts and media shows, and he continued to talk about the Patriots culture in the locker room, even though Lane Johnson has never stepped foot into the Patriots building.
Metcalf weighing in on the inner workings and decision making in the Eagles locker room, right? Do you as a fan and it's a media type.
Do you think it's appropriate for current players to make comments about the inner workings of another team? No, no, but I don't even think he should make comments about the inner workings of his own team out in public.
I mean, I think Belichick has a righteous kind of do your job.
Stay within your lane.
You don't need to talk about who should be starting for the other team and who shouldn't be.
I mean, all it's gonna do is stir up controversy.
I don't see anything productive coming from that comment.
No, I don't either.
So let's talk about another comment that is only gonna start controversy, Shall we say former Patriot Ted Johnson has speculated that Bill Belichick, it's tough on Gilmore.
We're at odds about Gilmore's contract situation the past few weeks, Johnson said.
This, he said, quote, I think Stefan Gilmore and Bill Belichick are at odds.
I think that there was something probably over the contract that those two aren't seen eye to eye on, and I feel like it's almost become unstable with Stefan Gilmore and Bill Belichick.
My feeling is, was that the knee injury? Is there some shoes to that? Yes, but I think it was Mawr.
That Bill was not happy with Stefan or Stephan, and vice versa.
Now, looking at Gilmore's 2021 situation, where he's gonna be earning just $7 million in base salary, we wouldn't be surprised that there's some sort of friction regarding his contract, considering he's coming off of a defensive Player of the Year campaign.
Now the Patriots could easily extend Gilmore in the offseason, give him a raise that he's looking for and move on.
Jackson is also a restricted free agent as well, and has outperformed Gilmore this season.
And last year, when Gilmore one defensive player of the year, Jackson, was right behind him.
In every statistical category, Bill Belichick moving on from a player over finances is nothing new.
We saw this in many different cases and most recent memories that you got Trey Flowers, Malcolm Butler, Jamie Collins, Chandler Jones.
Now Flowers and and Butler walked.
Jones and Collins were traded.
Do you think that this will be stiff on Gilmour's last season with the New England Patriots? I mean, the closer it gets, the more and more that's coming out.
I mean, you never know what's true and what's not true.
I really wouldn't be surprised if it isn't because they're also gonna like we've said, probably want to sign J.
Jackson toe a long term deal, so that's gonna be a lot of money there.
Gilmore is probably not gonna be happy only make it $7 million.
So something's got to give.
I don't know if they're going to trade them and try and get some value out.
I don't know what's gonna happen, but I would not be surprised at all if this is stuff on Gilmour's last season at this point.
So prior to the trade deadline, it was reported that the Patriots had taking phone calls for Gilmore.
Stephon Gilmore also put his house up for sale, and that only lead to even more speculation.
And we all know what happened the last time a Patriot start put their house up for sale.
So there's pieces that lead to there being some truth to what Johnson is. Same.
It's also reported, though, that Bill Belichick was looking for a first round draft pick and a player in exchange for Stefan Gilmore if the player, if the Patriots did move Gilmore this offseason, considering his injury, Yeah, considering that there's been a slight decline in his play.
Yep, there has it.
There's no way that the Patriots will get a first and a player back.
Not at this point last season, or like in the very beginning of this season, maybe But at this point, with him only having one year left on his contract and this being, I don't want to say a down year, but a a down year for him.
I'll say that it's gonna be more difficult.
What do you think Gilmore's value is on the trade market? That's very that's very hard to say.
Um, you would like to hope that the defensive player of last year would warn at least the first round pick.
But at this point, I don't know if they'd only have it one year left on his contract and his play declining a little bit.
I think we said the other night on Monday that he's about to be 31 was a 32 or 31 30 1, 31 or 32? Yes, so he's getting a little bit older.
I'm hoping they could at least grab a few picks for maybe a second and a third something of that sort if they can't get a first rounder.
But I think the first rounder and a player is out of the question at this point.
So what you're saying is we've moved beyond a first and a player where it might be beyond the first.
Right now, we're starting to look at the second or third round pick.
I mean, we'll have to see what he does the rest of this season.
If he continues to decline a little bit, it's gonna be more and more unlikely, obviously, to get a first round pick.
Now we have the boys from East West football podcast on on one day, and I think it was Fidel who still believes that he's worth the first round pick that there's a team out there who believes there a cornerback away or star player away.
So do you think that that's what the Patriots have to target at the trade deadline or story going into the draft? I mean that, too, as well.
I feel I got the trade deadline.
That might have been a chance where a team out there really just needs a corner who's actually going to compete this year.
But the Patriots won a funny spot where they were still trying to kind of compete, and, you know, playoff hopes were still alive.
I mean, technically, they still are, but now that is the season's over they're gonna have to try and find a team going into next season that's planning on competing.
That doesn't think they're gonna have that great of Ah, uh, you know, depth that corner and try and go out and get stuff on Gilmore.
I feel like he might have been worth mawr during the season this season.
Then he will be in the off season next season.
I also wonder if the knee injury had anything to do with it because he was banged up for a bit before he went on the I R.
And I wonder if that was one of the I don't know.
That was one of the reasons that maybe they couldn't move Gilmore out the door.
That, too, as well.
Obviously, if he was injured, it's gonna be harder to move on.
So I want to turn to some Red Sox talk now if we can.
Yeah, so veteran outfielder Yasiel Puig.
He didn't play in 2020 and he said on Tuesday that he is planning to return to the major leagues next season.
Now he's only 29 years old.
I didn't realize that.
But on Twitter, he said that his time away from baseball, he was plotting his return.
He's in total shape, physically, mentally and spiritually fit.
Now Puig has quickly become a target of multiple clubs who were seeking outfield help.
The Boston Red Sox, the Baltimore Orioles in the Houston Astros air, all interested in signing him.
That's what sources have told Mark, uh, fine sand of MLB dot com.
In 2019, Tweak slashed A to 67 3 27 4 58 with 24 homers and 48 R B I s and 19 stolen bases over 100 and 49 games split between the Cincinnati Reds in the Cleveland Indians.
Before we even discuss the connection with the Red Sox.
Is Puig a name that a fan base could get excited for? Just because the name Yeah, and what should we really expect him to deliver in 2021 right? I mean, he's kind of a big name, so that's something that would get somebody or just a fan base excited, just based off of his name alone.
But I love these types of people who have something to come back and prove.
No matter what the sport is, he took last season off.
He's gonna want to get a big contract long term, so he's gonna want to come back and, like he said, be in the best shape physically, Mentally.
This is why I was excited when the Patriots signed Cam Newton.
I love when people have to come back and prove that they could still play and they have a chip on their shoulder and they have something to show.
So I think he would honestly have a good season.
I think we could expect better numbers than he had in 2019.
I think he'd come back.
He'd have a bounce back season.
Now what Puig's named B is big.
If you didn't play for the L A Dodgers, probably not.
I know he's gotten.
I think it was 2019.
He was involved in one of those big brawls, so I know that put him on the map big time he came back.
I think the next game or whenever they played each other again and hit a home run and sparked everything again.
So there's been a lot of excitement and drama with him, and he's, uh, he's an eccentric player, so I think it would be a big name of guard Lis.
So, outside of pitching, is it safe to say that the Red Sox next biggest needs would be some outfield help? Is that safe for me to say? Yeah. Yep.
They've got to figure out what what's gonna happen with J. D. J.
I don't think he's going to come back.
Um, then, attendee, I I liked an attendee, but he just stunk out loud last season, so I don't know what's gonna happen with him.
Eso they need somebody.
So if we get out a bit of an up and down career, a times his attitude may have gotten the best of him is well.
But with Alex Cora being the current manager of the Boston Red Sox, and when you look at the player leadership in the group like guys like JD Martinez, could you see Puig being a fit in Boston? Yeah, especially if he adapts the very laid back but competitive attitude that they have in Boston under Alex Cora.
I feel like that was the perfect way to describe them in 2018.
They were such a competitive bunch, but they were also very laid back.
They played very loose.
Alex Cora was a player's manager.
He got along with all the guys.
They were all friends.
They just jelled perfectly.
And hopefully he would, you know, take to that type of attitude and that type of, like, locker room environment.
But I think he could fit in with those guys. Definitely.
So for the last two seasons, the Red Sox have been plagued with numerous issues in regards to their pitching staff, from injuries, departures and just overall lackluster outings.
Boston has run the gamut as faras, their pitching woes air concerned.
But there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Chris Sale is now targeted for the summer for his return.
Eduardo Rodriguez has a clear bill of health, and he'll be on target for Opening day.
As of now, Boston will be without Martin Perez as they declined his option and he is now free.
Agent Nathan Eovaldi will be back, and we'll also see the full time editions of Tanner, who is a Hook or Hook, and Nick Panetta to the rotation.
But yesterday MLB dot com mark fines and again reported that the reigning American League champions would be open to listening to offers for their ace, Blake Snell.
In 2018, he led the entire majors.
He led the H nine at 5.
6 while leading the A l L e R A at 1.
89 with an e r A two plus 2 17.
He took home the Cy Young that year e r A title and was named to the All Star team.
He had a bit of it down here in 2019 and pitched nearly 70 innings fewer than he would have the season prior.
His 2020 campaign was a stronger effort, finishing four in two of the 3 24 A during the covert shortened year.
Are you surprised that Tampa is open to taking offers for Snell? Yes, very.
Um, it's very hard to find a stud lights out pitcher like snow.
I don't understand why they would want to deal them.
I really don't know what they'd be expecting back unless they want all of the Red Sox prospects for the next, like five years or something absurd.
I don't know why they'd be looking to dealing, but I absolutely love for high and bloom to go out there and make something happen.
Well, let me ask you this, then, because you kind of let into one of my questions.
Tampa is always on the hunt for young, controllable prospects.
They have serious money issues in Tampa.
That's one of the reasons that usually develop their stars and then get rid of them.
Are the Red Sox in a position right now to offer up enough prospects to satisfy Tampa Bay? I feel like I don't know too much about the Triple A Double A right now with who they have down there.
That might be worth it.
But the Red Sox, I feel like, are always depleting their prospects because they're always trying to trade them for big names, and it's kind of a never ending cycle.
But I feel like they've also done a very good job of replenishing that because they've had people come up through the system and play into the Red Sox system like Raphael.
Deborah Xander Bogart's You know what I mean.
There's other guys over the years that they traded.
I mean going way back.
Hanley Ramirez was originally here.
Eso Hopefully they have some people down there that they could make that type of deal.
But that would be typical Red Sox.
They always found ways to trade prospects and bringing big names.
Is it fair to say that adding Snell to the rotation would propel the Red Sox back in the world? Serious contention.
100%? Yeah, because I think the pitching staffs gonna kind to come around.
Like I said, I have faith in Chris Sale making his recovery.
I've always liked DiRado Eduardo Rodriguez Uh, Navio of all these a good picture.
So if they had snow with the top followed by those three, I think they'd be right there would still be at the top of the rotation.
Who? The second Chris Chris Sale.
When healthy, abroad, abroad.
Of all the fourth Eovaldi was the only one that had a decent season last year in the pitching staff.
Really? So it would be your fifth.
That's a good question.
They like a lot of battle it out.
It's funny, though.
I find a lot of teams, even the good teams in the bad teams, like sometimes it's just that back of the rotation that causes them.
So Maney issues 100% When you have guys who are like the fourth and the fifth guy and especially lasted with the Red Sox.
They were just thrown out.
Whoever at that point, like whoever, the 4th and 5th starter, half the time that there would be TV.
They just don't even know who was gonna pitch at that point.
And I think what people need to realize is that those fourth of his starters need to pitch every five days.
So every five days you got that 4th and 5th pitchers starting.
So they still count toe winning baseball games. Exactly.
So So so with that being said, if the Red Sox brought in Snell, they would still have to address the rest of the rotation and try to find 1/5 guy.
Yeah, I feel like once once they get down there, though, they have a couple of people who would be able to compete for spots, I think, But after that, if they would have get smell, I really want them to concentrate on the bullpen.
I was gonna say, What is the shape in the state of the status of the Redskins bullpen or Sorry, the Red Sox bullpen right now? Not great, because I still right now.
Don't think that they have a closer.
I don't know who they're gonna put on paper and say they're closer is gonna be last year.
I think it would.
They pretended it was Matt Barnes.
Um, I wouldn't like to see him be the closer.
I think he's a solid reliever.
But outside of that, Darwin Seuin Hernandez, I think, is a great prospect.
He's young, He throws very hard.
I like him a lot.
I think he could potentially be the closer, but I really don't know who else they're gonna have out there.
They have a bunch of guys that are just journey men kind of, you know, they have brazier here.
He's up and down between Triple A, um, Keith Hem breeze, a decent like middle reliever, but they don't have many studs out there.
I just love that user.
They pretended the Barnes was the closer e think that's what it was.
I mean, he wasn't really like a closer.
They just said, Hey, we're gonna pitch you in the ninth if we ever have a lead.
So then with that, with you saying that, would it be fair to say that even if they were to trade for a guy like Snell, they would still need to address that bullpen if they actually wanted to be considered contenders? Yeah, they would need either address the bullpen or or determine somebody that they already have in there.
That could be the closer.
I think the only person that might be able to do that is Darwin's and Hernandez.
Other than that, I don't know what they do because they need somebody like Kimbrel or they used tohave Koji back in 2013, Keith folk way back in the day.
Any year that they've won the world, Siri's, they've had a very good closer outside a closer.
Do they need to dress anything else in the bullpen? They could Barnes be the set up guy.
Could he be the eighth inning? Yeah, you have Bonds could be the set up guy.
He memory can throw a few innings.
We'll have to see what they do with people like Brazier.
There's a bunch of other guys out there that are just very mediocre.
Taylor is not bad.
So I got a question for you.
What's really the difference between the eighth inning and the closer? Like what? What makes the debt in your eyes The difference between a good set up man and a good closer? The closer you gotta You gotta have the guts, man.
You gotta You gotta have iron, iron nerves, nerves of steel.
You cannot get rattled at all.
I felt like some of those guys like Matt Bonds would come in there and they just struggle That just closed the door.
They were kind of nervous, Like, if you remember when Kimbrel would pitch, you come in with that serious face and do the whole thing and throw the ball 100 miles an hour.
And they were just lights out when he would come on in 2017 and early in 2018.
As soon as I saw him coming in and there was a one run game, I'm like, Yeah, the game's gonna be over. They're gonna win.
So you're saying that if a picture comes in and pitches in the A thing, and you don't think there's as much pressure on them.
Seventh inning, eighth inning.
I feel like there's less pressure.
See, I've always looked as as the set up man and the closer is interchangeable.
And I understand that the ninth inning you can, you know your team can come back, whatever.
But I've always seen it as the eighth inning is just as important.
If you don't have a guy to set up the closer, then you can't get to your closer.
So I've almost felt like a team needs actually to closers one to pitch the eighth one to play the ninth way back in the day in, like 1990 to 1993.
The Blue Jays actually two closers in their 8th and 9th, really, and they could interchange them.
The Terminator was basically the closer, and I wasn't Charlie Sheen.
Yeah, great movie, by the way, major league.
But yeah, I don't know.
To me, I've always seen the 8th and 9th is interchangeable positions.
You're not gonna have Mariano Rivera go pitch the eighth inning, but I think that the eighth inning guy has to have justice.
Nerves of steel.
So Barnes might actually be better for, like, 1/7 inning relief pitcher.
Yeah, at that point, Yeah.
Yeah, he's probably more of just a mid reliever.
They have a few people who are pretty solid that can throw the 6th and 7th inning, obviously potentially the eighth inning if they're not gonna be the set up guy.
But they need people at the end who are very, very consistent.
And they just don't have that yet.
To the Red Sox. Have an opener.
Do you have any pictures that need an opener? Now? I don't I think they kind of did the opener last year, but they were doing just a bunch of weird stuff towards the end of the year because it was just such a lost season.
The Blue Jays started doing an opener called a couple of years ago, and I thought it was just the weirdest thing in the world.
Yeah, I always thought that was weird.
I think it was the race who started doing it originally.
And then a few other teams started catching on.
Was it the razor? I thought it was the Oakland A's that had, like, because it may happen in the first, because I thought they had, like, eight starting pitchers.
So they like, platoon them toe to try to get all their guys to get their work.
And they had openers and that kind of thing.
It works sometimes.
If you have the right personnel, I guess.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in United States of America.
Connor will be spending his day with his family since here in Canada.
Tomorrow was just Thursday.
We're giving Connor the day off and believe it or not, SportsCastr wrote us today and we all get the day off.
So there will be no DPM commentary tomorrow.
I thought I was coming on, but they told us to take the day off.
We'll be back Sunday to do the postgame.
Um so look, because we're talking here tomorrow, I want to take a thank, uh, I want to take a second to say what I'm thankful for, and then we'll give corner the floor too.
And I want to say start off corner.
I'm thankful for you.
Yeah, I've worked with a lot of people.
I have a lot of friends in this industry, but I have never jelled with anybody.
Like I've jelled with Connor Carney.
You know, there's times, man, that I dread SportsCastr news.
Not because of the people.
Don't get me wrong. I love the people.
I don't feel like going on the air.
I never dread the PM commentary, even after a Patriots lost on a primetime game when it's the middle of the night.
God, I want to thank you for being such a great co host.
I want to thank you for being such a great business partner.
I want to thank you for being a friend and, you know, today you know, it's the fact that I can accidentally text you, send me your parents address when I'm texting you instead of my cousin, and you just send it to me.
No questions asked.
You know, I appreciate that, man.
Um, this is the funnest project I've ever been a part of, and I've been a part of a lot of different projects.
I love doing the show.
So I'm thankful for Connor.
I'd also like to say that I'm thankful for my and now our audience.
Um, some of you have been with me since the early days in 2017 and supported me through every change that I went through.
A ah lot of you followed me from my from YouTube over to SportsCastr.
You have my back on Twitter and you know, even though we don't always agree with each other, you all keep coming back.
I do want to throw out a special shout out to the squad.
Ted, ****, Chicken, Rhino, Summers and Joe.
You all know what you mean to me.
I appreciate you all.
I'd also like to thank SportsCastr for taking a shot on me a year and a half ago, I think I was like, one of 30 guys to come on board and they narrowed it down to three of us in January after giving us a whole season covering football on the fact that you kept me around and allowed me to help build the SportsCastr brand is phenomenal.
I'm forever grateful.
Special Shout out to Nick, who discovered me signed me, deals with every complaint I have and makes himself available anytime I need him.
Thank you to the SportsCastr team for the graphics and social media post and everything you do to make DPM commentary in me better.
Lastly, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the support of my wife and my kids.
Um, guys, I know it's hard to understand why DOD can't go to the Christmas tree farm because he has to do play by play or a pre game.
I know when you guys read the comments on YouTube's and you see people saying mean things about your dad, you get upset.
Wonder why I bother.
And to be honest every time I've even thought about just quitting and forget it all, it's my wife who normally convinces me to stay, and, you know, sometimes they just need encouragement.
But there's a lot of work that goes into DPM.
Commentary in SportsCastr News.
Um, I wish it was Azizi.
It's just turning on the mic and talking.
I spent hours and hours building my YouTube channel, and now it's rewarded me with even more work here on SportsCastr.
You know, after working my full time day job, I have stories to write for SportsCastr news shows to prep for shows to do, podcast to edit videos to edit and post social media to manage guestbook sponsors to negotiate with the business.
Part of the podcast takes away, uh takes way more time than the fun parts.
And that's when Caught and I are on the air for 40 45 minutes a night between both my jobs.
I'm not with my family for about 14 hours a day, six days a week, because I'm doing work for SportsCastr or I'm doing work from my my other job.
You know, guys, you never complain.
Um, when we are together, we make sure to make that time count.
I love you guys.
I'm so thankful to have you all in my life on There's so many people I've left out to thank Um, Connor, I could do a whole show just saying the people that I'm thankful for my life I wanna thank my mom.
Dad Christa Lynn.
Bill Dan, my brother from another mother. Sean.
Christina, Christine, Brian, Lance.
Um, by the way, Brian, Christina, Lance, the only three of my family members to actually listen to DPM commentary regularly.
You know everybody else in my life who makes me happy right now on Facebook, Chris carrier.
One of my staff members at my other job.
I love you, man.
Uh, I appreciate everything you do.
I'm getting a little too emotional here.
Why don't you? Why don't you say what you're thankful for? I'm thankful, man, for for just the opportunity to be on here.
I started last July starting a podcast.
I had no idea if anyone would listen to it.
And in the beginning, almost no one did.
By a stroke of luck, you found me on Twitter.
Probably back when I had 68 followers.
And, you know, we got together and you gave me an opportunity to start coming on here.
And I'm thankful for all the work you do behind the scenes.
I don't think anyone watching this knows that I truly, truly think you're one of the hardest working people in the business.
Man, you're always prepared.
You're always texting.
You always know exactly what needs to be done.
You do all of the voice overs.
Make sure all the sponsors are lined up.
Man, it's been a great right so far.
I'm thankful SportsCastr is able to give me the opportunity, and it's it's been fantastic.
to see how much we've grown.
Like you said, Man, You said Summers, MK chicken, You know Joe Rhino? Um, Ted W.
And all of these people who consistently are always supporting us, Everyone else watching, Man, I'm so thankful just for the opportunity and just for us toe start to get this traction and get this rise.

I think that's the perfect way.
I know there's, uh, there's I know somebody who definitely watches this in your life.
I don't know if you wanna thank them.
Who's that? Oh, my father as well.
If he's watching, he does watch.
I told you that the other day.
I'm like he's He's one of the few people who also I think does watch, So I'm thankful for that as well.
Everybody enjoy the time with your family.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Um I know a lot of you will be doing it via a lot of you'll be doing it via Zoom.
Did we not thank Summers? I think we did.
E thought I said Summers, summers, old Taison I gotta thank to master at work Boys had my back and he pushed.
He pushes our stuff a lot.
I've seen him push it.
I appreciate it, man.
I appreciate everyone that pushes everything we dio Like I said, Man, it's I could do a whole show on all the people who have supported me through, you know, starting to YouTube.
Page is a joke Thio growing a bit of an audience, toe blowing up overnight suddenly, you know, getting signed by SportsCastr.
And I wanna waste the whole crew, the whole squad, all the audience, everybody that's here.
I want to thank all y'all for for tuning into us.
Be with your families again.
Even if it's not in person.
Try to remember.
We're gonna get through this 2020 is almost over.
We're gonna erase it from our memories as soon as it strikes.
2021 is gonna start difficult.
But I promise it's gonna get better.
These vaccines, they're gonna come.
We're going to get healthy things.
They're gonna be great.
I'm not even gonna pitch the SportsCastr pitch tonight.
Uh, not gonna waste your guy's time with that tonight story SportsCastr, but I don't feel it's appropriate at this point.
We'll see you guys on Sunday after a Patriot victory.
Yeah, buddy, take care.
