So without further ado, let's get started and talk with this Patriots game against the Texans.
The New England Patriots play the Houston Texas at NRG Stadium, and this was a tough game.
This was a frustrating game from a Patriots team that was coming off a two game winning streak.
One of the games was last week against a team that is right down there.
See, um, playoff picture in the Baltimore Ravens at home.
Um, and this was an opportunity for Patriots.
Seemed to go on a three game winning streak, get to 500 really start to believe, and that this team can potentially make some headway, especially with limited roster.
You still got a Hall of Fame coach Bill Belichick.
It just seemed like everything went well last game this past week.
This game it was ah, failure I would say for the defense now.
DeShaun Watson played out of his mind on in play.
He has been playing great against the Patriots.
Um, even when he's lost games against the Patriots.
Um, this guy just put some numbers, uh, you know, any this game that he played, he didn't have his against the Patriots.
He didn't even have his opera DeAndre Hopkins.
But the Patriots made it, though, to be easy on him.
And that's the part that frustrates May was.
The Patriots didn't create any type of scheme in terms.
The fact of trying to find ways to get off to Shawn Watson spot.
If you keep the Shawn Watson in the park, it was no, um, you know, pressure.
He's going to find the mismatches.
And that's what he did on Sunday against the New England Patriots secondary that had pretty good week last week.
Plus, they bring back defensive player of the year this week and Stefan Gilmore.
So you would think that this Patriots defense would be able to hold suit and for the offense and special teams to win the game.
But with limited team like the Patriots, they have to win in every single category.
Um, you know, with Brady and stuff the birdie Patriots teams, he probably be able to win a lot of the games just by Brady Brady doing brave things.
But with limited roster, of course, the new quarterback and I'll talk about camera.
I really, um, e really think Kim is starting to kind of get back to us Pre Cove in playing time on the stats.
Uh, and if I think he should be next year starter with the team.
But Bill Belichick refers every single week in order the way to win the game.
We gotta play great all three phases, and that's what happened last week.
In order for them to win, the Patriots are gonna have to find ways to win if they win close.
They're not a team especially limited with all their stuff offensively, nothing, and just pull away like the old Patriots that we're accustomed to.
So in this game right here was a clear example of that.
The Patriots actually had lied, and that's what I was trying to get because the Patriots and a lot of games that they have lost, they have not had the way at first, but the Patriots first drive and I'll recap.
I'll recap it, but the first drive they actually score, they went down the field.
The Texans have one of the worst rush.
Defense is in league, and they just ran down the field.
They're using a lot of him, um, early on the game, and then I'll talk about the remainder of the game.
But, um, it was a frustrating 27 to 20 loss Patriots now dropped to four and six, and the Texans? They're Onley win that they have had besides, twice against the Jaguars.
Now, to be fair, the Texans have been close in a lot of these games well before the season started, especially now without DeAndre Hopkins.
I would have thought the Patriots were lost last week against the Ravens in a close game and beat the Texans in a close game.
But I flipped fought that way.
So, you know, it was it was frustrating because I thought the pages had a good chance to one.
I thought they had a good chance to win.
I know Watson has given them problems in the past, but I thought you give him a little bit of pressure.
Um, and, you know, maybe might be a little more rusty against the pages than in years past.
Then it figure to be that way.
Um, guys were wide open a lot of the times and crossers.
Watson made some really good throws the earlier earlier on the game where I'm like, Okay, like, tip the cap.
I mean that Watson's, you know, one of the future good quarterbacks were having this leg.
So, um, between him, Lamar and Patrick Mahomes the top three, Um, I think Watson has more upside with his passing ability in Lamar right now.
I mean, I think Mahomes is is as the top tier out of all of them because he's arguably the best quarterback in the league.
Still, and he's probably wants movie for a long period of time.
But with that being said, Watson is right up there in terms of what he can dio.
He could make people miss.
He could throw deep.
He just has all the intangibles.
The one cool thing about the Sean is I respected him as a quarterback since Clemson, and he said before the game how much he really loves camp knew in in terms of questions, playing style, and the Mars had respect for came last week.
Um, just what I was saying about Cam Newton camps that was going on, like, you know, that's just that's the thing about the Sean is like, I think he's just very mellow type quarterback, like Like he knows he's good, I think.
But he just he's humble about it.
I'm like, That's what you know.
I think I think my homes is he You know he's so ****y.
But I think Mahomes is pretty humble himself there.
I mean, my home is definitely, you know, after a period of time, you know, he's gonna he's gonna have the right to become ****y if he wants, because like, there's a lot of things that, like just other quarterbacks, you can't do this is just phenomenal in terms of what he can dio.
But there's like, you know, like the play that Mahomes made at the end, where he rolled down and found a wide open Kelsey like people are making it.
Oh, you know, that was typical Mahomes like, yes, it waas, but the guy like wide open like I hope the majority quarterbacks that we have in this league can throw that can make that throw.
Um I mean, at least wait.
I mean, he threw it on the run and it was a great ball, but I don't think Mahomes is still he's still beast, no matter what.
I mean, I have so much respect for him.
Watch him, wife.
But regardless of the fact the Texans, the reason why they won is because Watson had a field day.
And that's what the picture is just gonna dio Patriots new defense defensively, I think before the game that they didn't have a great Russian team.
Uh, you know, they Dave Johnson, do Johnson, But those guys like, you know, the average probably about 4 to 5 yards a rush is more of their their passing game in terms of how they would do with, well, fuller bringing cooks Randall Cobb and then there.
Then there tones.
Well, Brandon cooks was out earlier in the game of the injury and rental car was out with with an injury, so he had to go to Gaza.
Kiki, Cootie Cootie.
I think his name is Jordan.
Back into tight ends.
He had used Darren Fells and the Patriots defense still couldn't stop them.
So it was a bad defensive game for this Patriots team.
And I kind of, you know, the last week's game, you know, it was kind of in the monsoon rain and everything like that.
You know, they did have a great defensive game, but they did kind of get some help with the ring.
I would say for sure, because this was a sunny day, you know, Down, depart Texas and the Patriots definitely just couldn't.
I couldn't really get anything going defensively.
Now, Offensively, they scored 20 points.
They scored 20 points, and I think, you know, with limited offense, I think I see them scoring now kind of a baseline, at least averaging between 20 to 25 points.
And they're just hoping that the defense and the special teams could follow suit to just be good, like good, because I think that, you know, they could make a score times like, you know, low thirties, potentially but very rarely.
It's usually between the low to mid twenties, maybe high teens.
That's that's kind of where the Patriots offenses.
But I think you know Kim Kim new one, um, you know, people who could argue that he made some mistakes that the and was taking some sacks and stuff like that, but, um, he played another turnover free game on.
I think that I mean, at least has a Pats fan.
That's all I asked him, can There's he had a lot of criticism, you know, after that Cove it time he you know, he played at two times against the Broncos and against the 40 Niners.
And, of course, an argument.
They got benched the week before, was in 18 12 deficit and where he he missed Harry on the out, but also to I think it was miscommunication.
So, like, those two games really like to turn it over.
And then that buff Logan, the one passed it, he fumbled the ball, Um, to potentially tie it with the fuel are, um, can't even win it.
Um, but But since then, you know the Jets game, the Ravens game, and now this game against the Texans.
So three games in a row, he's been turned over free.
Um, so he's given if he if he doesn't turn the ball over and he still turnover free.
It gives the team an opportunity to win games.
The Patriots this year.
I think a lot of people are inches to say.
Would they be even competitive with the team housing? Yeah, they should be.
And I've I mean, for the most part, they have been competitive.
They have shot themselves in the foot and a lot of games that they could have won because they're four and six.
But in retrospect, they could have won that second week against Seattle bought.
I mean, that was a good moral victory.
You know, moral victories and moral victories.
It's it's not a win.
That's kind of what you're striving for.
But at that period of time, I mean, it was like 11 500 okay, like it's kind of a guy like in terms of potentially what might happen the rest of the year.
But that was a game right at the end where they could have won the Denver game.
They could have won their right, you know, going, you know, knocking down the door there and they just kind of get the job done.
1/4 down the Buffalo game, they fumbled it and could have wanted a touchdown potentially or kick a field goal to force overtime and seeing what happened.
So and then this Houston game, you know, they were.
They were close, their score away and, you know, but just the matter off.
They just had to play a good 60 minutes, hours or when, and they make mistakes.
If they go back in the turnover battle or they get too many penalties on them.
There's just so little margin for error of this team.
So disappointing loss.
We'll recap it, though 27 to 20 against the Houston Texans.
Now, with that being said is the path of potentially sneaking in over many people are You are saying that, Yes, this this bus, You know, the Texans, This was a game that they should have found a way to win, and they did it.
And now people are riding this Patriots team off.
Um, I'm not ready to write them off quite yet.
I still think that even though it's four and six, anything could still happen.
Now you can't go down for in seven.
They're playing extremely tough team coming up on Sunday, but they have to find ways toe because it's it's just so little margin it from our from here on now that's just the matter of if they want to try to get into one of the means lots of a postseason picture.
They're gonna have to find ways to be kind of right with that 500.
So they could potentially be, you know, especially with the C B A.
Potentially, you know, this in the NFL games start to cancel out and stuff like that.
Then they expand the playoff picture to eight teams, and then from there, you know who knows what might happen? Um, it just really gonna be really, really tough for this Patriots team, though they just have too many really tough opponents in the A.
There's just too many really, really good teams out there.
But I still want to roll out this team, this Patriots team until, um, you know, at least in the next couple of weeks, so they really start to lose a bunch of games.
Well, at that point is not gonna matter.
But your four and six, they're still you still have time.
Thio kind of get yourself back on track.
If you beat Arizona on, then the phone week.
They have the Chargers.
The Chargers have even the Chargers winds.
I mean, they they were up by a couple scores in the Jets, and they were right there.
And, you know, I know Herberts been, um, Herbert's been great, you know, 1st, 1st year.
But, um, you know, they have a hard time closing out games.
So my conference for this past team is that you find a way to be Arizona.
You find a way to be the Chargers, your six and six.
I mean, it's not.
It's definitely not where you wanna be by any means, but, you know, and of course, give you give yourself So you're telling me there is a chance standpoint, So I'm not trying to kind of get myself ahead.
I would say I think, but this pages seem here are now.
Yeah, it's taking a week by week, um, finding ways to win, whether it's ugly or not, because I think with this team being such a limited team, they gotta win ugly.
They got to find ways to just pull games out, so that was kind of little of a path take for May.
But if you're thinking still about the path, it's just shrinking by a threat, especially after this tough one on Sunday.
So let's recap it here, though.
First quarter, um, Damon Harris gets pages on board.
The Niner touched her run at seven.
Nothing with three minutes 36 seconds ago.
Rental car but a three yard touchdown pass from the Shawn Watson that was one of ****ne's touchdown pass in the day.
Nick Folk with 45 yarder made it 10 to 7 days.
Shaun had a four yard touchdown run, made a 14 to 10.
And then with 10 seconds left in the second quarter of Man, this was tough way to end.
The half six yard touchdown pass toe.
Kiki Cootie from Watson made a 21 to 10.
Definitely not with the Pats.
Wanted to become halftime down 11 points, but the Patriots, um, didn't quit.
The mere Bird had a 42 yard touchdown pass from Newton.
Noone knows had back to back touchdown passes back to back weeks, which, of course, should give the Patriots fans a little bit of hope.
With Howie my fair. The rest of year.
Um, but the Patriots were now down 21 17.
Well, two minutes and four seconds go in the third.
Fairbairn, the kicker for the Texans, 36 yard field goal in 24 to 17.
The Patriots in the fourth quarter had a 36 yard physical from Nick Folk Man a 24 to 20 Houston and then Houston with four minutes 11 seconds left.
Fair Rent, a 46 yarder, made 27 to 20.
Patriots drove down the field with about a minute 10 seconds left and fourth down.
Patriots stop the Texans again and then came through a Hail Mary pass at the end that was completed, but it was about 10 yards short.
And that's how the game in the final score, the Houston Texans 27.
The New England Patriots 20 once again, a very tough loss for this Patriots team.
They move up to three and seven on there, Uh, record on the Patriots now go to four and six.
There are one in four at on the road.
Patriots have a bunch of road games coming up, which, of course, doesn't bode well with kind of how the record shows, but they're gonna have toe find ways to get things going here.
Uh, so with that being said on to Arizona, see how that game goes? I'll preview it a little bit here on Tuesday night.
Patriots Episode 32 let's go to the stats here before we get into the next thing.
Uh, let's go to Cam Newton on the day he was 26 of 4300 and 65 yards, but the most impressive established he was 9.
You got two touchdown, no picks.
He did get sacked twice, which were some critical times.
He got sacked but hit 100 2.
6 passer rating.
8 q B R rating, which isn't great, but that I guess you could say it's kind of a typical decent Cam Newton type game.
You wish you could get a couple more touchdown passes, but with limited often is that they have.
I mean, you know, he definitely wasn't the reason why they lost this game.
There has been times that you could blame camel.
He you know, he fumble the ball at the end of that.
You know that game in Buffalo and, oh, he made that critical interception thrown.
This was a game.
That Cam threw the ball well and he threw it.
You know, all parts of the field.
He through, of course, the Sean pass it.
There was a deep ball right over the outskirts, on the edges of birds hands, Aziz going across the Miller field.
And so this wasn't a bad day from Cam.
And now this is the third game.
He hasn't turned the ball over through a pick, so it's definitely making headway.
And I know we got asked this question this big in terms of how he thinks about potentially starting for the Pats next year.
And he just said, Our we're on to Arizona and I wanna I hope we can win for is on it.
And that's the mentality that you need as a starting quarterback.
The contract situation plays itself out until you wait to the end of the season, especially for a guy like can you know, I think that the Patriots kind of realize that, you know, they have the cap on their availability to say, Okay, you know, keep camp for another year or two on a minimum type deal.
We could figure something out or to your type extension.
We could figure some something else.
So I think he realizes that he's trying to keep on playing to a part where he can get a good contract extension and kept on my for it.
So, uh, a couple of weeks here for Cam Cam in a decent day once again on Sunday, Russian.
The running game.
I don't understand what happened.
Harris, 11 carries on 43 yards, 3.
9 yard average and touched You did the touchdown on, then White.
Only five carries.
But what's really not supposed to be your primary down back? Harris is any rushed for over 100 yards last week against the Ravens team this week, the Houston defense was on the works against the run, and after that first drawing, I'm like, Okay, just keep the ball rolling with the run game, and that just didn't happen that way.
You know, you could say Well, can threw for over 300 yards and you know he was and the coaches were trying to feed the hot hand.
If you get away for some from something that you're good at, which is the running attack.
It doesn't bode well for the rest of the game because they're taking away one of your strengths on the strength of this page is team offensively.
You could probably think it's their running game, and that's just what didn't happen this game.
So I think that the Patriots had to kind of go back to the next couple weeks how we can get a running game going because really that offensive on the pages that they have right now, they're really good when it comes to the running game.
I mean, they feel holds up.
Um, you know, when I left tackle to me, a lift guard, Andrews at center, right guard, Mason a right tackle, windows slashed alumina.
Or, if you want to say that, so that they have the they have the personnel to just do the I formation runs.
It's a matter of the timing of them and the execution.
And the Patriots just didn't do enough of that when it came to Sunday.
So I was definitely quite a concern.
Tough thing there.
I receiving uh, Tamir Bird.
Definitely was really good in this game.
Six catches, 132 yards, 22 yards per catch and touchdown.
Um, six catch of 64 yards.
He definitely played a role in this game.
Ryan is of two receptions for 59 yards, but really is it still hasn't been a factor in this offense, especially with the tight end limited position.
One of those catches was he made the Hail Mary catch, which, of course, is Ryan ISO 2020.
You know, guy, just, well, just come out there and just make up catch here and there, but nothing.
No, That's why I think the pages really have to go after a tight end.
That could be, you know, because really can't get a great tight end for a while.
Greg Olsen and he definitely use them across the field.
You know, of course, looked one way and then looked in the middle of the field and said, Okay, you have a really good tight end Greg Olsen, and he used him to his ability a lot, and it just does not have that this year. A tight end.
I just think that if he has a good quality tight and Cam Newton.
In the soft season, your personnel will change a lot.
You definitely can mix up a bunch of things.
Um, and I think for the younger rookies like Odysseus in Keene, they could definitely get mentored from a guy that's been experienced in the league.
One guy that I really hope that they could take a look at this offseason as Hunter Henry.
But we'll have to see what happens.
Um, kill Harriet.
Five cats for 41 yards.
Comey Mars, who's probably been camps photographer the last several weeks.
So you only have three catches for 38 yards this week.
Donte Moncrief came up for some receiver death.
Did you catch for 15? Damon Harris had a catch for 11.
Rex Burkhead to catch for five yards.
Joan Johnson Jones to function well.
All six total tackles on the day.
Well, like I said, nobody got a sack on camp are on Watson um tackles for loss.
Surgeon Philip said Juan, uh, Lawrence Guy had a Q B hit, but not a lot of action coming from that defense.
Call the Texan stats here.
The Shawn Watson Phenomenal on the day.
28 37 344 passing yards, 9.
3 yards Average pass.
4 Q B R rating compared to camps 47.
8 and he had 121.9.
R T g um, Did Shaun also had a rushing touchdown? Do Johnson and C J Precisely the running game.
Do Johnson 10 carries for 15 yards? Um, David Johnson Seems like you don't even play.
Or if he did, he didn't do anything.
So the pages are expecting pretty much the whole entire game that they're just gonna pass the ball.
And I just couldn't We're just going to stop him.
Four catches, 85 yards, 21.
3 yards Average Notes.
Scores Look at the averages per catches for a lot of these guys from the from the techniques, this is what was a big pivotal part of the time.
Over 10 yards over 10, or divert to catch Jordan Atkins tight and five receptions.
6 yards Average a catch.
Will Fuller 56 receptions, 80 yards, 13.
3 yards average catch and then Darren Fellas another 10 to reception.
20 yards but 14.
5 yards average.
And then Pharaoh Brown.
Two receptions, 22 yards, 11 point average yard to catch.
Then kick Yakutia.
Two receptions, 10 yards for the touchdown.
He came out of the game early, but he got two captains, seven yards.
So, you know, if you look it on paper, the Texans another another big factor, too.
Day what? He had four pass deflections, so people are really criticizing.
Can, in terms of fact off.
He didn't, um, decide.
Thio, uh, keep it away from what side? On what was able to get a bunch of batted down type plays.
When? When? Can was finding some trouble.
A bunch of couple drives there.
But like I said, it was a tough game.
27 20 Final score.
Texans three and seven.
Now on the record, Patriots four and six.
All right, so let me go to my duds of the game and kind of my the guys that really stood out, the patriots especially, um I'd say my ups in this game or camp, I'd say another up for me with the mere bird and then another up for May.
I guess you can say it.
Waas man, if you have to pick the defensive player.
E Kyle Duggar continues to impress you.
A couple of players, especially the running game for tackles for a loss.
So he's definitely making some headway.
Um, now let's go to constant goods.
Um, I know this has kind of been unfair, one, but David Harris, Um, just the fact is, he only had 43 yards average, 43 yards.
They just didn't neutralize him.
So I am being a little unfair.
But he definitely had a tough game compared to what he had last week.
But I do expect that he's going to be the Patriots future in terms of their running game.
Away has a lot at him.
Another dud continues to be.
Ryan is Oh, um, just no production of this tight anger, especially with other guys been having their situations and then Mm, I guess you can say, like, um, you know, I saw I saw Devin McCourty again and Jason McCrory back end.
Bentley's definitely Bentley has been really slow on bypass coverages, especially on sport, on short pattern slams and stuff like that.
So he probably another dud.
Um, but the second, the second door just had a really, really rough time.
So, but hopefully that they can turn things around, get back on track this coming Sunday.
But let's go to something quickly that I wanted to get into.
And this Waas ah, player that Brady should take a look at signed with in Tampa.
No, Um, sure, I do the birdie stuff now.
Maybe I should Well, Tom Brady and the tip of it ****ing ears.
That's what was not supposed to happen.
It's my phone, but I'm good.
The Buccaneers lost 27 to 24 against the Los Angeles Rams yesterday.
And let's just say Brady did a bunch of unlike Brady stuff, and he's done that for a bunch of for a bunch of the season.
Here are some things that I think people have to realize, though, about Brady.
Brady is 43 he is 43 years old.
Um, I'm not even trying to make excuses in terms of the fact that this poor play at times because it has been poor.
Well, there has been times that really has still been a really good quality quarterback that we're kind of used to seeing with them.
But in prime time this year with Tampa Bay and Brady has just been, I don't know what to say.
It's stopping Maria at all.
The Saints game a couple weeks ago and got blown out, Um, and then the Bears game.
He lost track of down to the end, and it didn't take next fall.
Um, let's talk about this.
It's a Brady lost yesterday, and this is the second time he didn't shake somebody's hand.
And I have something, however common, to say.
I'm the biggest top.
I'm a huge, huge time, very fan, but I love them.
Who is my number one quarterback? Go everything like that.
Uh, boy, I do gotta tell the time that it's a bad luck if he continues to lose and not shake people's hands.
Now I think, you know, people are saying for the first time, well, it was CO of it and stuff like that and, you know, he just he just It was one time I was just thinking, especially Nick fools, You know stuff is gonna happen.
You know, I made a mistake.
Well, this is not a second time on he lost It figures that both times that happened were two players that he played in the Super Bowl, Jared Goff a couple years ago.
Of course, the year before.
Jared Goff, 2018 when?, 33 for 500 yards in a masterful game.
So the defense gonna get off the field? But the tapping said sportsmanship in this NFL league is is critical.
It's more than a game of times and it just I just think that that's a bad look for him to do it again, especially because other quarterbacks have seen him.
He have been so dominating the sleek and, you know, put up so many big records.
People look up to a lot of quarterbacks that have beaten Brady, of course, look up to him as the greats and he is.
He is by far the greatest, but he is somebody that should be following as an example a mentor, a leader and he has a bunch of those qualities.
He has a bunch of those traits, and I think he still does.
But sportsmanship is something that he just has to taking a play that a lot of people are going to criticize him for that don't like brain.
So I just hope that people don't start to look at Bernie as a sort of loser.
If he continues to not shake people's hands.
That's all I say.
So, Tom, I love you.
You're the girl best.
But all I asked for you is no matter who the quarterback is, if you lose to him, if you don't just shake his hand, I know you're gonna be upset because it's the inner Kinen, just the inner competitiveness of him when he loses its it's not fun. It's not great.
But maybe there's something to this because they asked him after the game against the Bears, They asked, Why do you not shake Nichols? He was like, Well, I have a lot of relationships, you know? And I like to go up on and shape people's hands.
You know that I'm really closely.
So he shook Drew Brees his hand.
When, where you got blown out a couple weeks ago, and he shook Aaron Rodgers hand when you want and you shook Justin Herberts Ham when he when Brady 12 he came back from and you know he was in the mid sidelined.
All happened stuff like that.
So what makes them different than just a Nick falls into Jared Golf.
You you've beaten dragged off in the Super Bowl, and he came right up to you after the game, shaking his hand.
That's true sportsmanship.
Can you imagine just a quarterback? The fact that you lose the Super Bowl you get so far and it's like you just go off the field as a quarterback and the quarterbacks just trying to find you? Oh, I just can't even imagine.
But it's hard to accept it for you, but it's the true way of the game.
Sometimes you win, and sometimes it was.
Now let me get to Brady struggles at times, especially in primetime games.
Brady still putting upgrade stats.
It should be, especially with the with the Cory has.
But man Bruce Arians is not agree matter him.
I knew before the season with Brady at 43 years old, he's trying to have Brady force the ball deep.
Ah, lot of the times that I shouldn't be.
Maybe here and there maybe wanna play my happen.
You get through a deep, but that's not his strength.
I think people are starting to blame Brady. Always wash.
He's that because you know he's gonna picked off a lot.
Well, he's trying to just hear from what the coaches air given toe in terms of a play call.
So he starts trying to do it.
And yes, sometimes, you know, like the interceptions that he made.
I was even blown away in terms of what is he doing? It wasn't like it was a tipped ball or as a close, you know, play that a guy just jumped on like these were just absolutely horrible.
And sometimes where you get my full at the end is like even the past games, I would watch sometimes at the end, you know it just trying to get the ball up and something happened.
This was a close game, is a 27 24 type game, the second picky through he this.
This is usually a vintage Tom Brady moment.
Were all we needed was three points with a bunch of weapons that he has around and he throws a pick on incompletion, seem out to cam break.
Or basically the guy was coming in to jump and pick up.
That was a second interception on the day.
So you know it happens.
You know, usually when we've been saying this year that brazen off game the next week, he said, Great ones, then people like, Oh, you know, braised Brady and stuff like that.
So it's just like it doesn't It usually doesn't happen this way.
But, you know, he plays next pass from homes.
I was supposed to be a great It's gonna be a great game, but that's gonna be a game to be like, Okay, like Bernie ****ed off after his performance this past game, or is it gonna prove to people? Yeah, I'm so I'm so Tom Brady still still to go So But in terms of the scheme and game plan for the box is you have my guests have Chris got, and this is where my thought a patriot going into Tampa might help.
What are the Patriots do all the time? Has 20 years of the team.
The scheme was Do not go deep a lot.
Just go down the field.
Short intermediate routes.
Quick browse, quick slants, quick screen passes.
It wasn't a bunch of go rouse big poster stuff like that.
There was times he did it, and especially his prime.
Where down or any moss down toe grok or the of the scene? But this is like 43 year old Tom Brady, and you're trying to throw it four yards about 50% of the time.
It Z not supposed to happen, and especially if his offensive line is its average out of state. It's been great.
So ah, lot of the good rushing, defensive rushing type teams we've seen already with the Rams Saints.
Couple of the teams that have gone to win.
If he was trying to force a deep with the offensive play, calling off course, it's not gonna go well.
A lot of the times he throws it.
He's just trying to check it up there, hoping that the balls you know and play forgot to make the catch.
We saw it last night to where they decided, dim down the offense.
Great with the quick screen San Antonio Olarra short crossing pattern to Gronk.
There was a play action where this is typical Gronk 5 to 10 yard measure up.
Those are the things that he is good at.
Keep on doing that.
Another thing from the box that was happening.
The games of Brave struggled.
Where's the running game? Gone to the week before? A 98 yard touchdown run by Ronald Jones.
A lot of their games that they have won the 10 ****ing years they've been able to execute a running game.
Where is the running game happened? It's Brady just can't go.
Yeah, have all these weapons.
Let me go flex them out and let me just try to go deep all the time.
It's not gonna work.
It's not gonna work.
So with that being said so, I think Brady said a bunch of bad games.
Yes, but do I think that he is all just mentally mentally done? I don't know.
I think it's so great. Quarterback.
Not great, Great, but still grab.
Um but he has to realize that, you know, he knows the times at the end.
Another guy to Drew Breese.
You know, he I wish you the best of luck.
I hope that his you know, his surgery and stuff like that.
I hope he gets back on the field.
I really, um, But Arians man, he him in life, which they don't give pretty good opportunities.
Maybe breeze, you just like saying Listen, let me just do it myself.
Let me handle the offense.
You guys can take a step back.
I will see what's best for me to succeed with this team because I have all the weapons in the world and that's what he asked for after leaving the way you wanted weapons.
So he has that he shouldn't use.
Oh, he doesn't have weapons anymore.
That shouldn't be an excuse anymore.
So if you're struggling a lot of times, then has to realize what it iss I think that the game plan execution of him, trying to throw deep a lot with his age is not gonna work.
That's just not especially with the defense, like a Rams have a good secondary.
So that was just a quick Brady thing, James.
What I think James White could potentially break could be recruiting them to come next year to Tampa Bay I might not happen, though, but Brady, in his career, always loves the running backs that can catch the football.
You've got to throw to four times yesterday.
Drop them on some bunch of throws.
Does Tom Turtle? Um oh, I see.
Maura's a down running back type.
Uh, you know, he's usually 1st 2nd down pipe back and a third short time back. Rojo.
Him and Rojo are definitely two running backs that are more big and bulky.
What happened with him? I thought they had him on the roster.
What happened with the slot glide across the middle of the field? What happened to Scott Miller? I thought that was British guy.
Kind of like doing gentleman down down South.
Brady had guys, even though that they might have all the talent in the world on the receiving corps.
Brady did so well in the wing because they put him in a in a position where coaching had to matter and coaching matters big time down in Tampa Bay. A dozen.
You know Bruce Arians.
He throws Brady under the bus after bad games.
What is that gonna help? How Is that gonna help break his confidence if you're struggling? So So I think it's been like a perfect marriage down there.
I didn't think it was going to be.
I thought it was gonna be teaching.
And another thing about Brady to is I finally start from the media as well as When is he talking about on the sideline? You know, you you would hear brief talk with Josh McDaniels with Bill on the sideline.
It's just like he's not talking with him.
He talked a little bit of his OSI Brian left, which he talks, you know, with a bunch of his receivers.
You know, Mike and Chris.
It was guys like that and Grant to, but it's just like, Is he mentally kind of? There is.
He is in mentally, you know, Even when it comes off the field, he looks like he's like, cathartic and tired.
Just definitely not to breathe that I'm used to, even though I still love them.
So I think James but could be a part of it there, you know, that's one of Brady's guys, and Brady has guys join gentlemen Gronk, and I guess you could say a B.
Those were really Brady's guys.
But what? It would definitely be somebody that could help time out.
Of course, Tom has one more year.
He has one more year of Tampa next year.
I think that this year is almost over first year down there.
So that was a quick Brady thing.
Um, and they're playing against the Chiefs on Sunday, So 40 Maryland, 8 48 minutes here.
SportsCastr to nine pages.
It was a three sister health spend cruise.
It's November 24th.
Where were you guys Have a great Thanksgiving, by the way, as I pointed out to those that joined me earlier, Um, let's show I had before tonight around six o'clock PM Eastern time to, ah, belated Tuesday Night Patriots.
I did it tonight because, you know, I started working this past weekend, and I was really busy with my work, Um, schedule.
So I have some time off right from Thanksgiving that decided to do these and check in.
So let's do some.
I guess you could say midseason awards. The Pats.
I guess you could say my M V P.
It's called a Mars.
Um, I think you know, without June element offer a bunch of weeks.
They needed somebody to step up.
I receiving of the receiver position to make some place.
And Mars has done that.
Um, I think the Scott and of course, you through that touchdown pass the other week.
He has good route running.
He can catch the ball.
So I'm going to give him my MPP mid season two.
Jacoby Meyers? Yeah, My biggest surprise.
Let's say to Yeah, Kyle Daughter, um and I'm gonna go.
Of course, they picked on the draft.
First round pick D two player.
Didn't People in a lot of people.
Didn't know what to think about him.
He's done great the last couple weeks.
Um, he could fly.
The man took life.
You put him out there making plays is, uh, cast coverage ability.
Definitely needs work, but he's still young.
He's still young.
I think he will get better than that.
But, um, the guy could play, the guy can play, and he's filed fast.
Which, of course, they need what, the new era type team.
Um, so my MVP is becoming marsh from this season.
My two surprises for engine Phillips and Kyle Duggar by two disappointments.
So, Michelle, I thought that no.
Sorry, Michelle might be able to give you more in the running game because the receiving corps is very limited.
So maybe they could even use in the passing game.
Um, but he's just he has been able to stay healthy.
Um, you know, he I'm not criticizing the whole lot, but I'm just It's gonna be tough for him.
Thio kind of get back himself back on track.
So I'm giving him and disappointment for my med patriots.
I guess you could say awards another other one to kill Harry, Um, are seeing position your your limit on receiving car.
You know, we picked he picked you potentially make some plays with Cam.
You're basically your time to shine moment.
And I just have I've seen a story here sport there, but, you know, we need to see consistency from a draft pick receiving.
Um, you seem like D k.
Metcalf, Justin Jefferson from this year, a bunch of guys, they're just going into making plays, and we're just trying a wait and wait and wait.
And maybe just nickel.
Harry's is not the guy that we're accustomed.
I know about Mother one mother dud from this midseason George system.
Now, he was supposed to be your apparent to Tom Brady.
And, uh, you know, they sign can to give stadiums, um, quarterback competition.
And I thought potentially could have won the job, but, uh, apparently, apparently, the patriot, you know, he got a little bit banged up in this offseason stock to come from slack.
But, um, I just don't know if the pages really believe him.
You know, I think I think he was a great quarterback out of college, but I don't know if the Patriots believe in for the long term.
So that was another mid season does from May.
So that being said, um, let's talk about the Cardinals preview on, then we'll be done for the night here.
So I'm gonna, uh, you know, we will sleep here even though it's 99 o'clock PM Eastern time.
What with that being said, the cardinals are playing great football.
Uh, collar Murray.
Of course, I'm really dynamic.
Quarterback Bill Belichick couple days ago is saying that he's probably, um, the Cardinals are probably the most explosive offense somewhere I'm going to see, um I will go through the schedule and kind of points out.
Um, which teams they have beaten? Of course.
Parlor had to hail Murray a couple weeks ago against the Bills.
I'm trying to see if the Cardinals have, like, loan anybody out or most of the games have been close because I don't know that's that.
So they're six and four.
They have six wins, four losses on their schedule.
Let me take a look in terms of their stats.
So there, last game, they lost to the C.
Seahawks and Kyler actually got a little banged up.
Uh, they were reporting that wasn't a C joint.
I think I think on the right shoulder.
But you know he is gonna play Cliff Kingsbury.
The head coach is a young coach, but I think he I think he has a great, great future out of them.
I really dio Cardinals 28.
77 and points per game so they can score a lot points against.
They are 12 238.
They are first in yards per game, their first in yards per game.
You gotta be ready to go this Sunday.
If you play like this on Sunday from the Texans Week, it's gonna be a long game.
It's gonna be another long, long.
Yeah, 1st and 1st in yards per game.
They gotta be Ray passing yards per game, their 15th.
So you know, not too bad.
But there are second and rush yards per game.
They love to run the football.
Of course, they have very dynamic runner and themselves in calamari.
Time of possession, their ninth ***.
There are 11 interceptions, their 14th so in yards per game, their first and then rush charge, bringing their second.
And they're in top 10 time possession and they're in the top 10 points per game.
So in those four categories alone, those air really big, important categories that you had that that need your team to be successful win games and the Cardinals have that collar.
He used on 19 touchdowns, eight interceptions.
So he has been turned over savvy at times, but 19 touchdowns.
He is average, Uh, your eyes were passed 7.5.
They have a great running game.
Chase Emens, Kenyan drink.
Um, drinking Emmons on the average, about five yards of carry.
So not breakaway speed by any means, but they could make place.
They can make people mess.
Kirk, that's Gerald.
Then you have a younger guy and Isabella want to U MASS? So he's going to come in back home.
I guess you could say singing sauce that kicker defensively.
Corey Peters I've gotta look out for They got, uh, Kirkpatrick.
Hey, is he is the best? Jordan Phillips.
Um so this is gonna be a really tough game.
I think the pages could win it, but they had to be on their A game like they do have to do every week.
But what that being said, yes, that's your kind of quick preview of the game.
That's game is gonna be on Fox on Sunday, and we all recap it next Tuesday.
So without further ado, thank you guys for joining me tonight on Tuesday night, Period. It's understood.
Your husband cruise.
I did some headlines.
I think I did some headlines in the earlier show tonight, so I probably just not do them tonight, but go pats.
Um, we talked about a little bit of Brady.
Definitely hope Brady could beat the Chiefs.
That would be awesome.
Bill Gray win against a great quarterback in my homes, Uh, for 15.
So I go out the patriots, that one, flip it over prime time game or any my homes.
I think that's right.
This is gonna be around four around five.
Something out there, but and choose a great game between the two, no matter what.
Yeah, I did see my Patriots midseason awards, um, this year, Patriots.
So that they could get their defense back on track as they struggle against the Texans.
And then I did some preview of the games coming game against the Cardinals.
So enjoy that game on Sunday, crack.
Um, and, uh, have a happy thanksgiving for those that didn't join my earlier show tonight.
Uh, just said toe people tuning in to stay safe for your traveling the C. D.
I guess you're going to say has been advising people to not travel too far because you could say or just in general, I'm just staying home with my family.
I'm watching football.
But you got If you guys are traveling to stay safe, enjoy the holidays, everybody.
I'll be back here next week.
There is no for those that are also joining me.
I mentioned earlier to my other show.
The holiday Thanksgiving made with my family often the joy of the day.
Join that? No, for you guys.
Air joining most of the same for the most part.
Um, and of course, Washington football and stuff like that, you know? So I'll be back here next Tuesday.
Happy Thanksgiving, Sasha.
I guess you could say a great long weekend.
Yeah, and by the time I come back here, it'll be December.
It will be the last month of Ah, crazy, crazy 2020 year.
Have a great evening, everybody.
I'll see you next Tuesday.
