quality riel stitched and everything.
Please, if you guys, when these don't don't wear them, these are these air.
Put a ways for your kids, your grandkids and whatever.
Also signed photos.
Shawn Kerr Alley right there way got signed pox.
We get so much stuff on my desk over here is, like full of **** underneath it all brewing stuff going away to the Patriot members.
Like I said, patryan dot com slash black and gold hockey podcast.
I will put that in the chat now.
Anything better? I can hear you, but it's not. It's not any better.
Tallahassee is going on well in Tallahassee.
He comes with a mix of all kinds of avenues.
Yeah, that's weird.
It literally just worked the other night when we recorded No, I can hear you, but it's not like, not like last week.
Did you go into like settings and make sure that your the microphone is not the computer might get to the yeti because sometimes sometimes my computer switches away from that annoying, so I have to go in and fix it.
Or do you just Is that the link? You just shared it? Yeah, nice.
Can I like copying a gun? Can I do that? Hair The hell is going on today? Here? I don't know.
Freddy E my game all the way up.
Still saying anything changing **** around? Yeah.
Everything could be over, right? Uh huh.
It's all good. Well, we could make Dio. Yeah, I did not.
They dio Now it's gonna **** me off.
I mean, in my own head.
I'm a ****ing mental midget over here.
See, I'll just turn up that Maybe it's you guys.
Yeah, all right.
No, no, I wouldn't do that.
I would not do that.
18 18 people in the stream. I think it's pretty.
We can We could talk.
So everyone talking, you get this thing to show off the road.
Jake DeBrusk signs a deal.
Two year contract.
Little around seven million for two years.
Thoughts on the deal.
Um it's like 600 mawr.
600 grand Mar a Nathan I was hoping for, but I like if anything under horrors love anything for yeah, No, but I have no idea.
It sounds like it Z about it is it is Don Sweeney mentioned and being mentioned in today's interview, uh, with his presser about the The Covert Times and so on.
They really got together and just mentioned that they let's get something done now and we'll revisit this when we can, when we have a little more cap space to deal with and so on and you know the next.
If, if he plays well and gets consistent, this could be a big contract for him because they e mean the depressed camp wanted longer term.
But But with everything that's going on right now, it's just that wasn't a reality.
So a two year deal it is.
It is a bridge, but it's just it's a show me now, deal or we're just gonna, in my opinion.
And if it happens, then if he if he does not show up in the year one of this contract, then use that year is leverage and use.
His age is leverage and move them.
So that's just my thought.
No, I'm with that that together that that makes total sense.
And didn't they do something kind of similar with pastor knock a few years ago before he signed his actual the deal that he has now, I was in the l C.
So he's automatically get under a million for at least three seats.
But I thought, Hey, is that working? I can hear you.
A little better, Cotton.
Now mess with you again.
Now you got to play with the game a little bit all the way up.
Okay, That good? It's a little better.
I don't I don't know.
Um, anyways, uh, I don't and e can hear.
Yeah, just not like it was last Tuesday when I was almost telling you to turn to Mike down.
Oh, really? Yeah, it was all over the place, but it's all right.
Yeah, I like the deal.
I I thought it was gonna be at least 2.
So anything under four like Nick mentioned was was cream cheese for May.
So, um, yeah, I'm looking forward to having them around.
See what you can dio and hopefully be a little versatile, because if he needs to be moved, you need to be moved If you need time down on the third line with oil or ask stay upon the second line with Krejci, you know, versatile player could move up and down like that.
Andrew, I think this is kind of like more so a bridge deal for this upcoming year.
I mean, I don't think he wanted to go inside in one year.
What? No, he I think, uh, like, next year, it's gonna be huge, because, I mean, where the burns going into the offseason with, like, 40 million cap space around 44 you're gonna have a lot Thio and, you know, they're losing some key guys and stuff like that, and some contracts are up.
But that's gonna I mean, that's gonna help.
Help? What's his name? Jesus.
The breast helped about us.
A lot of guys dio the Bruins are kind of in a couple, you know, to Carrusca's to harass contractors up.
And, you know, he has said that he wants to come back.
You know, he flirted with the idea of possible retirement after this came out when he was, like, a few weeks months ago, just that he doesn't plan on retiring.
Keep him in the mix.
Keep the haters hating.
Uh, just to see Twitter explodes.
Um, yeah, I'm a huge gates of rest fan.
I always have been.
I mean, since he became I am a Bruin.
My track was on out in the Western Hockey League and the way he could skate, score and getting those dirty areas, It's just it you had.
He had Bruins player written all over him, and he was not box back then for the for the smallest size and so on.
But still, it's just he's, I think he's just that young that you can you can really count on him to like.
I know everybody thinks that he should have done a lot more in his entry level deal, but it's only been three years in the league, so I want to give him more of an opportunity to prove it.
And I think this small deal is is a perfect time to do it.
Yeah, think he's grown into the body more to He's been more large.
Drop this even, But he does get try to get a little too flashy and kind of leaves his feet a little too much and stuff he doesn't necessarily.
I don't think in this kind of skill to do so now necessary for images.
He has a decent reach. He has.
He has great spirit.
Is, you know, is don't He's gone on to show that, like, you can claim it.
Um, he was saying that he working out a lot more if thats offseason that focusing stronger and whatnot.
So I think that I mean, we'll see if that helps.
Think that's gonna help.
Think, Yeah, someone else.
Kalusha, Um, I I would like to think so.
I think I think it was I would like to think that with conditioning and working out, it's going to help him for a longer season.
And I mean, we're not gonna have a longer season this year, but games again, you know, more back after going to shoot part a 16 game season and 4, 4.
That even happens.
Going to be a grind this upcoming season and definitely won't hurt.
I hope it helps more than Oh, yeah.
Speaking of that nice Segway right there, but you're talking about if there's gonna be another season.
But Gary Bettman has been quoted on Hockey night in Canada, and that's pretty reputable source right there.
But he says the NHL to return on January 1st, and Arenas will have fans in the stands.
Is that just a PR thing, or is that just absolutely ludicrous? I don't know what the hell that is. That's crazy.
Doesn't make sense.
No, it's It's the drugs air. Good, Andrew says.
Yeah, that was yesterday.
That was posted yesterday.
And with all the **** that's going on right now, no way you're gonna have fans in the stands with other vaccine.
That's that's just it's crazy and it's not a football show here.
But it kind of reminds me of what's going on with college football and and those guys that just continually toe have the stands not completely full, but enough to spread something around if needed, And I don't see this happening at all.
I think this is a a pipe dream.
I I like the direction that they're going.
I like the thought of starting it as early as possible, getting it done as early as possible.
He's also talking about an 82 game full schedule.
This is madness six nine.
I think his age to start to get to him.
Maybe he's a seriously e mean living in la LA land.
The instruction, that body, I mean, first the fans.
And now you want an 82 game season? No way.
I don't see either of those two possible.
Especially, um, you know, arenas being inside.
You see? Yeah, Denver, who announced after this past week that they're not having fans for the rest of this season? You saw the Patriots there is having fans at all this season.
A bunch of teams are getting rid of fans and stuff, and, you know, you see the spikes and whatnot.
I just don't see that even being close to a possibility specially in the next five or six months because going to start doing away first.
This can be change in that short it.
He must have been intoxicated during that press conference.
Okay, It's the only logical explanation for that.
Yeah, carbonated **** water.
Jesus e might not look at a bottle of Schweppes.
Get the same and next Time e.
Okay, Jerry is gonna be my new crutch, e I should just hiring for as an intern.
You've been **** on me all day.
Oh, no, I wouldn't do that just half the day after day. That Z.
Yeah, I think it's a little too premature right now with everything that's going on and so on, You know, 82 games, probably 21 22.
I can't see. It happened in 2021.
So, um, yeah, I think he's either high on the gin because he looks like a gin drinker and, uh, possibility.
Ah, little senile.
So he's been a talk.
And Andrew, I mean, he's been intoxicated for almost the entire of his 10 years of commissioner.
Those drugs must be good.
Andrew, Best best commissioner in the sport, right? Hmm.
I'm not even joking on the better commissioners in sport, I believe I believe you're right.
And wow to come from after.
Yeah, after you're the NHL.
P. A. Was blindsided the owners.
The owners, but commissions What surprises me about him? What surprised me about him is his background and he came from basketball.
So he was a commissioner over in basketball.
Wasn't, um, the last n b a commissioner? Like his understudy or something? David Stern? Yeah.
I can't remember his name off the top of my head.
Not that it's important because I hate basketball, but say, man, Yeah, sorry.
Oh, they're all the commissioner.
Can't even think of that year.
Yeah, especially that clown in the NFL.
Um, is yeah, he's a clown.
He's just a puppet for the week, along with Goodell and then for the MLB.
I mean, he's an apple, and he was ****faced in the world.
Syria's so that that's one guy who was drinking, Uh, some carry the Schweppes that trip.
Oh, Adam Silver.
Thank you. Andr.
Um, another thing, Daniel, that I got loan to the Czech Republic team.
I know. I literally just read that.
I just put it in my notes because I was gonna bring it up.
Michael Balboni in the host.
Gentlemen, how's it going? Oh, no, I won't say I don't wanna **** off market.
See, it would be a great intern.
I'm telling you.
Yeah, you get some ice times and games.
Um, this is This is good.
It's bad because for me, it's good that he's continuing his development.
The bad is I'm really concerned about the H L coming back this year.
And with these guys on loan, I know that they're coming back for someone.
Is the NHL training camp start? Everybody's going back except for Peter Salah Rick.
He does not have an NHL to a contract.
He could stay his little *****y ass over in wherever he is.
So everybody else is everyone's prospect or under for training camp.
If it happens, air quotes, everybody quotes.
So But it also spells that thes players could be moved over there permanently because they're eligible in case something happens over here.
What do your thoughts on his movement? I speculated a little bit on the H L canceling because I mean the way the East Coast League is doing it and they they rely on assets and the seats is the same way that the American Hockey League does it, and they rely on assesses and seats.
Those guys don't get TV contracts and so on.
So, um, it's gonna be hard no matter what.
So I'm kind of thinking that this could be as it ramps up could be more often that some players ah, sal***e and some of the season's over where they can in are eligible to play well.
And that kind of would make them unavailable to the NHL team, right? No, they're online.
Delta team calls.
They have to get over here as soon as possible.
Unless they will have to go through a two week international mandatory international.
So that plays a big part in the day to day chaos that's going on in North America right now with this with this cove it ****.
So Wow, so they get called up.
Maybe because the player goes down for 23 games.
What's the point of even call them up if they gotta wait two weeks before they can even? Yeah.
No, I'm saying, but like what? All right, hold on me.
So they're coming from overseas, right? They have to corn clean for two weeks.
Yeah, So when the NHL camp starts, Yes, before that, they'll have to be over two weeks prior to that.
H l and the NHL somehow do not continue they can still play where they are at because they're they're on.
It's a contract or agreement.
It's just alone.
All right, I understand.
Jesus Christ took a long way to get there.
That's all right, man.
That's what I'm here for.
Just to help out and teach the way as much as best is like and drink pink Whitney until I'm blue in the face.
A good chance a like doesn't even come back this year.
It's not for a while.
Uh, I think that you think that's gonna hit hurt Dan would ours development? I don't believe so.
I think that the way that these guys gonna be very, very, very ready for whatever he does need to come back and whenever things actually get back together and on track, Yeah, it's not like the old days when you take months off at a time and then you have to like, really, it takes you half a season to get back up to speed the way these athletes train and within prepared their bodies and everything.
I think they'll be all set.
Um, especially with with everything that's with Jeremy Swingman and he basically you know, him and Alfie Michelle, the, uh, University of Maine goaltending coach.
Uh, they both worked with with swimming to make him what he was today.
So I have full faith they have time off and so on that they'll be ready to go.
Yeah, and even, like, not just Bruins players and stuff, like even I read the other day that, you know, MK David and Austen Matthews have been skating together like they're all staying in shape even though they're not.
You know, it's not like from all times.
It's so Yeah, I kind of share your up there.
I share your optimism there for sure.
Oh, that was That was one of Yeah, That was one of my topics that I left at work, man.
Thank you. Were like spying on me.
Is that boosts out the window being like, Hey, what she got on people over there? E have that mine too.
Um, wait a minute.
It was Vegas And the Blue Jackets.
Yes, but TSN Frank Sarah Volley.
He mentioned something about the Vegas Golden Knights.
There were four players that tested positive for the Vegas Golden Knights.
And then today he came out with another article says that there's news going around that, uh, a considerable or maybe a significant amount of players for the Columbus Blue Jackets have all tested positive.
But this is this is something that we're gonna have to go through because the NFL has been doing it.
Baseball did it and so on.
If you're gonna play you, you you can't escape this E.
I don't believe that this is gonna be a bubble system anymore.
I believe that they're gonna have the open things up, not to fans and everything like that, but possibly play in their own stadiums.
I think that the way that the Canadian division has gonna have their teams and play and then the Northeast is gonna have their teams and then the wet Midwest and then the in the West are all going to be those teams that just travel around in their own simple bubbles.
No fans in the stands and everything.
You're gonna have cases where you're gonna pop up here and there.
The only thing that will stop this down is if if it goes like wildfire and just goes right through the NHL, and there's not that you can't stop it.
That's when you're going to shut it down.
Um I mean, I can't make sense.
Why? I mean, that's right there.
Kind of the new alignments or proposed alignments can make sense.
I thought those were intriguing.
I actually really like, I know maybe two or half the season, whatever.
But I don't know what you that on Mark.
I don't know what you think about the realignment afternoon divisions for the temporary divisions or whatever.
It's also in front, like Jordy Barstow or whatever.
Said like you should be permanent.
Whatever I would.
I mean E would want that as a Bruins fan because it's kind a layup for them.
It makes for now your division.
And so you don't have to see them in the playoffs.
Not every every year or first off with that.
I don't know either.
Go ahead, Jerry.
Why don't you go? I'm going to do on this one for a little bit.
I didn't mind them at all.
And I like next time we did talk about this on the podcast.
Um, definitely for sure.
We're just to piggyback on what he just says.
Definitely good to get Tampa and Toronto out of there.
Um, obviously, they gained like they gained the Rangers.
Get in the island.
There's, I think.
Well, Alan doesn't take that, but the Rangers could be a pretty good Yeah, some tape.
Some tape fires are a little bit scared right now.
It's I'll take them over samples.
The way the divisions lined up for this upcoming season that that is true.
Think it really benefits the Browns.
You know, I could kind of maybe even help next year with a weekend back.
And, you know, maybe you don't have to go make it so, but you can escape five with, you know, have all right, really have any hi, high powered offense is in that division.
I mean, obviously, you have the capitals, but what are they gonna look like? I mean, there's a lot on the answer questions with what teams are gonna look like.
A well, but I'll take this.
I'll take these new divisions and no, someone else could take tampons because young legs.
So we'll probably come out buzz and groans.
You know, sometimes it's charge.
Sometimes they have been notorious for slow starts.
Just if we can start in those divisions in not deal with those two teams.
That makes me happy.
Not that I'm scared of.
You know, I don't like Toronto during the regular season.
Bottom line, Toronto Forest.
You know, um, obviously, to get away from Tampa, which is Tampa.
Who knows what? Their team's gonna look here with their camp.
They're bringing back most the same car looks like.
But, um, I know there's another talker that we want to talk I saw on Twitter.
I don't know if you want to get there.
Circuit? Er, uh, no, actually, I wanted to touch on this topic.
Uh, as for me and an old time hockey, the the Montreal and Toronto matchups, that's just something I look forward to every year.
It would be it would be different.
Definitely would be different.
I mean, everything in 2020 but different so far.
So why not just go into 21? And with this, this this strange division or whatever? Um, but that Z that's Ah, that's Ah, that's Ah.
You know, I don't think that's a layoff either.
Because of the teams like Washington, the Rangers, Philadelphia is getting better every year.
Yeah, Philadelphia scares me. for sure.
You know, you never know what's gonna happen with New Jersey.
The island is always gonna be there.
Uh, you know, they're growing and buffalo, you know, you got Eichel and Freaking Hall.
Now let's see if everything around them can come together and complete a team.
I mean, that could be a threat, but even Carolina, the division and the Bruins plates off, uh, goaltending down.
There is gonna be skeptics.
So remains to be seen.
No, I mean, this is something that the Bruins will have to definitely prepare themselves for, because now you're thinking outside the conference fricking games and so on.
Now you got to go back to the tape on a lot of things and get everything prepared for, um, for teams that you probably won't normally see on a regular basis.
So I'm not for it or against it.
I just want this year to be playing, uh, the season following.
Yeah, I'm honestly the second.
The second division here look is very intriguing.
Louis, Tampa, Chicago, Nashville, Columbus is pretty good.
All in one division.
That could be pretty good.
Didn't camp in Chicago play each other for the couple a few years ago.
Um, I'm making I think they did.
So either that they were in the finals, right? Interesting.
Yeah, but Andrew kind of took the wardrobe.
Yeah, they're ****ing frauds because of Luci.
Luci just ended that whole lot.
They just He ruined that team.
Single handedly killed hay trucked Ryan Miller.
That's funny, Lucas.
It's ****ing Michelin.
****ing marks are still all over that organization.
Remember E during game seven or whatever.
So it wasn't Lucia.
Pollution commented on some other player, commented on the first, but basically say Luke ended.
One made a comment about Lucia running over Miller or something like that.
I forget what it was.
I hilarious to see when they were doing the YouTube biased.
I don't know if you guys have caught any of that.
I watched the majority of that because Lucia was gas and wine and he was ****faced.
And he was coming out some great stuff along with Soupy.
So that was great stuff to watch.
And I remember that making a comment about which each running over Miller and saying they haven't been the same since Eastern was walking.
That was hilarious.
Hey, how about How about Soupy Going down? Thio Florida Panthers with old friend Sean Thornton Thio be the player development coach or player development role.
Oh, pretty badass.
I didn't even know that.
Yeah, he was working with the, uh, the Columbus Blue Jackets for a while, I believe is a scope chops off Jack's in the house.
Is, uh what up, Jack? I got to talk about him and his podcast in a little bit.
That didn't Campbell in his career in, uh, Columbus.
But that's why I said e think, because of the fact is that he was going to be sent down and he didn't want to go to the h l.
He's like, I've already done that.
I'm going to retire or stay in the NHL and they would just They opted to do that.
And then it became one of those, uh, um, legal things when you can, like, terminate a freaking contract and blah blah, blah, and they just flip their ways.
And he never really played again.
So So you know, he's still he's a Stanley Cup final Hero breaking his leg.
Guy was a warrior, wasn't even.
It was the East.
I think it was the Eastern Conference. Miles.
We got Pittsburgh, right? Hated that strategy.
What's up? Why did he hate him? Why does he hate him? Because he'd always fight and always lose police.
He ****ing tried. Sorry.
You could hear the guy who lays out and snapped his leg off a block shot.
That that's true.
Well, then again, I never like Adam McQuaid And he did that on the regular.
Yeah, that's true.
So, no, I was terrible.
Abusive, but tops off Jack in the house right here.
Give him a follow.
Not only here on SportsCastr, but follow him on Twitter.
Jack, put your, um, put your twitter up.
Um, he does a podcast on the black and gold production sports media companies, podcast network.
And, um, he did a fantastic program the other night.
I was absolutely blown away.
He had his father on, which is really cool.
And the history The history was absolutely nuts.
I was absolutely blown away by the stories.
This guy had and the story of of him, um, say, hey, Bobby.
Can I have your stick? And then, you know, Bobby gives him a stick, breaks out a pen, signs it and everything but his his his dumb ass friends said something to Bob Don or e or something like that and says, Hey, you sock.
And then Bobby, you took the stick back.
Hey, did this bag is like, Hey, I didn't He's like, Hey, I didn't say anything.
And he goes, Yeah, you better pick your friends better.
Yeah, man, it was just I mean, the Boston Garden stories.
The trips this guy made, he went to Maple Leafs guidance.
He went to the Montreal Forum.
Um I mean, this is just absolutely ridiculous.
You've got to listen to this podcast.
It's the latest one that dropped last night.
Um, and I just I completely enjoyed it.
I think that was more of a distraction at the end of my day during my job than my regular job.
So I was just totally involved And listen to this guy talk.
So, um, nice job, Jack.
And, um um, yeah, keep it up and and I can't wait till you ought to have your dad on again because I really enjoyed it.
That kind of reminds me of Oh, my God.
His father's listening.
His father's right there.
God, Song. Very nice job, man.
I really enjoyed that program Now.
I'm definitely gonna listen to that, that everybody should.
I'm gonna share that for the rest of week.
Um, his dad had season tickets.
Forest long as I've known right on the glass in the corner.
Um, he's had season tickets for probably 15 years now.
E think I know what story you're about to tell.
Um, right where? Right where The Bruins should. Twice.
He's right there in the corner.
If you look, if you're watching on TV, you'll see him there.
And there is a fight once.
There's a fight once on between the Bruins and Canadians, right in the corner and where he sits, he's right next to the They're mode first.
So you know they have the little hole where they can stick the lens there and stuff like that.
He's sitting right there and then Bruins air fighting right in the corner right there, and Kovalev's right there and he, uh he sticks his hand through the glass through the hole and he ripped Kovalev, stick out, stick out of his hands, just ripped it through the glass.
And couple of it's like in the middle of the fight.
He just turns around like starts staring at.
But But is that it is absolutely It's on YouTube, but it's not letting me seven a ****ing length.
You can't do anything here in SportsCastr Tweeted do just tweeted out.
Yeah, if you just search Bruins fans daily from Montreal are Bruins fan scaling Kovalev stick.
That's him right there.
Just ****ing yanking it.
And you know this guy? Yeah.
I grew up playing hockey with his son and I was over.
And the great thing is, the guys obviously filthy rich and stuff.
So here the buddy make a stick bobblehead out of hit a bobblehead figure out of it out of him, scaling Kovalev.
Stick through the glass and it's a stick It there and then it's awesome.
It's pictures left funny.
And then a kid came up to him, like after the game.
You the one who stole the stick? Yeah.
Can I have a broken in half? A.
Hey, speaking of bad ass, did you guys see the the table hockey game of the old Garden? Oh, that luchador? Um, yeah, that thing is sick.
That is absolutely disgustingly sick, If that makes any sense, Thio at all The one.
The picture that he zoomed in on where I forget who it was that someone was, like, squared up in front of one of the benches fighting that was sick because they had the gloves off and stuff like that.
I believe that was absolutely unreal.
Some was It wasn't Milton.
But that that the work that that guy puts in I is unbelievable.
I just I was just in awe of the up up, up the zoomed in camera angles and so on and the, uh the it's just amazing work.
E gotta find him on Twitter because I want to ask him a question.
E think I fall? I think I followed him, but he didn't follow me back.
Are they who built it? Yeah, it's understand, Thio, or you got an image of it.
Yeah, I'm looking at.
I mean, there's not a lot of fans when the picture that I saw, but, I mean, it looks like a very social distance picking Auggie game.
What? Imagine, exactly, like, only the only the millionaire's club.
My dad says the took of wrasse comments should bring strong because he watched every goal he play.
And his dad was an NHL goalie before he says it was alive.
Took a is the best for one school.
Um, can you tell me who his? His dad was an NHL goalie.
Who was his dad? I'm curious.
Who did he play for? I'm a goalie freak, So Oh, all right.
Yeah, that makes total sense.
Yeah, you know, and all the **** I give you, I'll take that one.
All right, now I'm looking it up.
Mhm. I'm making a note, actually.
So you wanted to talk about that off of sheep stuff? Because I just saw it sweet about something.
Yeah, well, I saw someone tag.
I want to say he doesn't even know the affiliations.
And the has bean.
See the SB Nation or something.
Yeah, but it's a it's a It's about the Kings, and it's rank rank royalty.
And he's a really good guy because that's my West Coast team.
Um, but he sent it to me and I was just like you office sheets.
And I said something about Bigfoot because we don't see him too often.
You don't but Tampa I mean, I think there are three million.
So the Bruins terms are like four now right now.
Three right around three.
So offer sheet. They got a couple million.
They got a couple 100,000 more than 10 right up there.
Make them the circuit chef, in my opinion, is going to be making or or deserves mawr than three million that is available.
You know what I mean? You'd have to like, you don't have to give up the first round.
And I always I kind of always think about those office sheets And how maney first round, it'll take to get a guy to come over here.
Like if you look at the logistics of oven office sheet on the high, very, very high end, you could give up four straight first round picks for a flare E there people are scared over and over on the island.
What's his name? Barzel.
Gain offer, Shia. But there's no way happening.
Because that would be four first rounders right there.
That's not gonna work The district of someone to create, lose, not gonna let him go.
Yeah, they're going to sign him.
Yeah, and I love the Bruins pundits that they're like, Oh, here's your chance to get bars else when he only took it five years.
Use the son of a *****es.
Yeah, it's like the, uh I can't even think right now, but it's like that **** ghost.
And when we were kids, Scrooge, remember that Some of the cartoon Scrooge McDuck? No.
Jesus, Jacob, Miley, Jacob Marley.
And I'm not shaping this, by the way.
And I'm not showing all these freaking graze because guess what it is Movember.
And it's a very important, very important month because since my boys here at the dumping change hockey podcast, which you should be following right there in the show, notes and listening to the podcast on any platform listening platform.
These guys are Boston famous.
Not only that world famous, but they're also doing a great campaign on it is moving.
But, Nick, why don't you talk about your campaign you got going on? We got a couple more days.
So? Well, the great thing is, we, uh, today, actually, we surpassed our goal of $1500 where 1536.
But I'm gonna jack that ****er upto like 1700 because, you know, we still got a week a week to go.
Um, for those who are listening and stuff like that to us, my dad passed away after an eight year battle of stage four because I don't have, like, e for dumping change.
I never had, like, you know, really any kind of social media.
So it was kind of hard to get the word out.
But this year I was like, I'm going to go for it because obviously, uh, you know, first year, my dad, I want to honor his name, and I want jacket the **** up.
I want I just want you know, I want to make him proud.
I wanna honor his name and he deserves it.
And especially being part of the black and gold production scheme.
Now, on being on Twitter and like, how supportive everyone Not just you, Mark, but everyone on the black and gold team.
They've they plugged the **** out of us. They've been great.
A lot of guys have donated and shared already, and because of that way surpassed our gold.
And but everyone you know was sharing.
I mean, I get a times were tough to So I know I knew 1500 was a stretch.
But I mean, with a week to go, we close my like, blows me away because years before you know, 500 would be my goal in seven years.
I made years I wanted, but it is more so just to spread the awareness to because, you know, prostate cancer awareness.
It's usually it's a big thing.
And hockey this month to they all grow the most.
They spread the awareness and for men to it z the killer.
It's you know, if you don't catch it early, could really no could really hurt you.
So that's why it's you know to talk with my dad, you know, before he passed away.
Take care of your health because you don't want to leave everyone behind.
You want to take care of everyone and that really make So, you know, I made in that promise, and I'm gonna you know, this is not just for the donations and stuff like that, but also for their awareness.
People have to understand.
You gotta take care of yourself, because you don't take care of yourself.
You can't take care of your loved ones and economic, um, us, you know, just be here the holidays and stuff like that, because that's his favorite time of year.
It goes a long way.
Just, you know, guys can be stubborn this ****ing way.
Don't like to get touched at the doctors or even go to the doctors or anything like that.
Um, thanks, Jack.
I appreciate those.
Um, like it just you can't be so stubborn.
And you just gotta take care of yourself because, you know, governesses killed him and, you know, fit him in the ass.
But I made him that want to empty minutes.
Him and I was just gonna bite the bullet and you know, I'll get to shoved up my ass, touch my prostate, do whatever the **** you want to do a man, because you know he would die.
Thio have one more day here.
So I'm gonna do everything I can spread the awareness to take care of my health, even friends and family, just to spread the awareness to them.
Because I want the whole black and gold team.
I want my friends, family, everyone.
I want them to be healthy.
Stay safe, especially during times Like when Kobe, The main concern.
You can't forget about the other concerns because the C word is so ****ing popular.
Now you hear it so often so if you could, you know, That's why I just appreciate you guys spreading all the love and spreading.
You know, you couldn't donate just spreading the, you know, sharing the link and stuff like that because also spreads awareness.
Everyone knows well growing.
The mo is usually for this time a month.
So bottom line my heart, I'm truly thankful for this whole team.
It's like you guys have no idea how much it means to me because I never I'll be gone for May help! Look for us over here.
Black uncle, um, Dump and change.
It's ****ing awesome.
Couldn't be more proud to be part of this team.
On I just want to say one more thing.
Um, with the weeks ago, why don't you raise that are just that much more high and make 1800? Because the black and Gold Hockey Puck and the Black and Gold Productions is gonna give up $100.
So we're gonna add another hunt box to that cars.
Okay, Awesome. Wow.
Yeah, you guys are amazing.
And we're so glad to have you on this team.
And we're just gonna be running like a truck, guys.
So and to have you guys aboard and the and the process the pro what you guys have done from Episode 12 now has just been unbelievable to hear every weekend and then this stuff that you guys do, you know, So, like, Oh, yeah, I always welcome even that nasty guy.
He's a nice guy, too, You know, I can't wait to get him on sooner or later.
And look at that.
Andrew Andrews got another 50 coming to you as well, so you can just share, you know? So, um, shares as good as a donation.
It's, um it goes a long way.
It's, you know, obviously you see how Twitter works, you know, simple retreat or even a like people can see it.
People can click on the link a big part of great cause what cove it has done to everyone this year.
We need a little bit of positivity in this world.
We need something toe kind of uplift us and just, you know, And that's what you guys have done for me.
And I don't mean Thio get all mushy over here on you like I was truly taken back to, like, just to get the email are saying, you know, seeing like all these black and gold members, um, donate and then all the Twitter alerts of people sharing it and stuff plugging in and listening to your episode this week of you guys plug in us in me.
Basically, it's truly like heart one, and it's just I mean, ****ing off can't I mean, I could go on and on about how awesome everyone's been to us and That's why we're so happy to hear our them.
It's like I just, you know, if I could find it was awesomely on bras and just my dad would be so proud.
And he's the reason why we started podcast.
Because, you know, I got all his chemo sessions and I talked his ear off about podcast hockey podcasts and stuff like that.
Just shut the **** up.
Own part, but back into some Berwyn talky talk.
Thank you so much for that message.
It is in November and so on.
So with a week to go, you know, it was it was important for me to push that forward and get it out.
So what else you guys got? You guys have anything? Jared, would you work? Were you working on the list It all too? Or did I cover basically everything you wanted to talk about? I mean, I didn't have much on the Bruins front except for the breast.
Really? Um, I did wanna mention that that Kendall Coyne was hired as the Blackhawks development coach.
I know it's not Bruins related, but great topic, regardless, if it's talking, you know, on this program, it doesn't have to be all through under later.
We could just talk to keep it going.
So yeah, I thought that was pretty cool.
Um I mean, the first thing that popped into my head was, you know, there's gonna be a some practice, some of those, like in practice competitions with the fastest skater thing.
One thing I do two things I want to talk about one e Think that's now squashed.
Now that Jake signed.
I thought that the Vaca nine and talk was pretty much like a leverage.
Um, let's trade your forward end upcoming defenseman and NHL ready forward an upcoming NHL defenseman and give us, like, a left shot D.
I think that was the idea that they were going if they couldn't get Jake at a certain number, but they obviously work together because they got done today.
I think now I think now your host probably gonna be sticking around, and I'm not saying I'm I'm happy about it.
I just want to see you make a bigger step this year.
I don't think he's NHL ready at least this year.
be frustrating for the brunch from E.
Just think that it was the hit.
I think that honestly and I'm not.
I'm not a doctor, you know.
Took in the early part of the season, which pretty much knocked him out for the rest of the year, even in the NHL and the h l.
I just think that it was just one of those times that he took ah whole season to think about that.
You know, I think there was a lot of gun shy moments, and I'm not saying that his development was bad.
He was blocking shots and he was doing the things that he had to dio.
But it was also times that you looked and said he just didn't want to get in there because he probably didn't was afraid to get hurt.
You know, just I see him as I call them, because I'm not bragging or anything like that.
But when you're at the games and you're seeing it live, you do see some great things.
But you also see sometimes of hesitation and you know where it's human.
That's human nature to like, Hey, I got myself ****ed up in the head.
I don't want to put myself in that situation again, but when you're asked to do so, it's just it's just so weird.
But I think his development is gonna be fine, and I'm gonna have to do.
We're going to keep him.
But if he needs to be traded as a piece, I also understand that as a business, too.
Yeah, that's what we said on the podcast, we think.
Sounds like the Burns maybe are getting development and stuff.
Maybe a little bit impatient.
I mean, obviously the window's closing for the groom's core.
And do you need some help on that back end? And if and for a Hanifin or something like nine and for Hanifin and a little bit more that that made sense in my mind that made sense for both on part of these, right? ****, I was way off this week.
I was blown away to find out that ****ing back in nine was the first rounder.
I don't know what in my little head thought he was a second rounder, and I I've been thinking that for, like, ****ing two or three years, I like I don't know why I was thinking that it truly blows my mind that I'm still rattled by it.
Can I use the second round? Or maybe it's because development it's a slow around here, But yeah, that's what a tough one for your Nik E was listening.
I'm like, this is new.
This is usually a nester fail.
But it was just like you were eating it. All of it.
What else? What else was the one in charge is like, No, that's not it.
E could see you shaking your head, Jared, When you when you mentioned it like ****ing is literally right before back in island.
Something for the panthers, nine.
Something on the panthers.
I thought it was, like ****ing because What's his name, son? Who has, uh, by that? You know that that no kidding.
That was pretty funny.
I just think capital coins has been more involved in the game.
Yeah, well, actually, I wanted I wanted to agree with him.
I think she I think she is better than a coin.
Agree with what Jack say.
And if you want, if you want a face to, you know, communicate with the younger crowd, I would definitely go. Night.
Coyne is not playing anymore.
I'm not sure, is she? Is she not playing? Is Kendall Coyne not playing anymore? Like I know, Hilary Knight still plays those players that were striking.
So, uh, she kinda like, uh all right.
I did not know that our Rachel played with growing up in the program.
Okay, so the very same age, Like they're still young on it. Just kind of it.
Kind of seems like Kendall coins.
Kind of been more in your face and a child stuff.
She's been right.
Maybe she says more like you haven't really heard much about Hilary Knight.
Really? With any Jones stuff.
Like and I agree with Jack.
Hilary Knight is by far in Kendall Coyne ever was.
But Kendall Coyne kind of just like you turn on, you know, NHL network.
She's right there.
You turn on nbcsn.
She's right there.
You turn on the All Star Game.
She's right there.
Um, there's something about her that someone is just like, you know, campaigning coin.
Don't really know what it is.
Well, dude, it's the It was the All Star Game.
That's what happened.
I mean, the whole fastest skater thing.
Coins pretty nice.
I like her a lot.
Big fan of the night.
Um, but going back to, uh, the higher for the Chicago Blackhawks.
I just got to say that I I thank God I'm not personal friends with these people, but the the jokes that were made on a trashy social media platforms like Facebook And I know Twitter could be just a just a bad, but the jokes and the e don't know what you call it.
I'm gonna try to be nice and everything like that.
We're just outright disgusting.
Like with the comment, you know, it's going to get round.
Oh, dude, it was like, so freaking bad.
Um, it amazes me that in today's sport, when we're trying to, um, you know, move equality and so on and and this and that.
And but there's so there's so many women that play a very, very good style of hockey and some of them playing a very aggressive style of hockey, which is really cool, too, but that they can't learn the game and and figure everything out and try to teach anybody else to do it, especially professionals.
And the town grading on this on this platform and on this thread was just disgusting.
I was just appalled.
I was just I can't believe you guys are hockey fans, to be honest, because it's about the game and not about agenda, you know? And I just thought it was ridiculous.
So yeah, that's like, not a very good look.
No, it's not just you know what I'm saying.
They just they have the outlets.
If you can say whatever they want is bigoted, as harmful as it can be.
But you know, I like like a couple of years ago, when the Dallas star is hired, or was the Phoenix Coyotes.
They hired a girl, a lady that had really good skating skills.
This teacher was like out skating the freaking participants on the ice, and they were freaking professionals.
So it was just a learning thing.
It doesn't matter where it's coming from.
If you, you know, are you about who's doing it and what gender is doing it, you know, it's just it's just Oh, it bothers me that we can't have a civil conversation without bringing freaking **** like that up all the time.
Just saying that's the world we live in the Yeah, unfortunately, right, right.
It's just I mean, I've learned since we've been on Twitter, Twitter is just what is going.
It's a Dumpster fire.
Yeah, it really is.
That sounds cool.
Yeah, yeah, that's what it is.
Guy was trashing Carlo like saying he's a soft layer.
I was like, I mean, Carlos, not like the What's that? Maybe when he first came into the league, but he's going into his body and yeah, it was injured a lot, too.
But I think the especially last season e I mean, the guy was my seventh player.
Honestly, if there was an award that I know there is an award, but he should have gotten seventh player.
In my opinion, I think I said, I think there.
Hey, who wanted is Oh, ****.
I don't remember gone again.
E Yeah, I think it was coil.
I think that for like a child for you, but I I I see court.
I see Carlo playing an aggressive game.
It's it's just not the style that some people want to see.
They want to see the big, bad brewing style of plastering somebody through the board, right? Exactly.
The size just automatically says Attack, you know, like a German shepherd.
But to me, I think that goal and anything that goes past that goal line is that much mawr relevant.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, it is very smart.
So good part, uh, go too far away from it.
A lot of especially a lot of players.
Now they take up a figure skating, and like Bacchus, he's doing it.
There's a lot of players that do it now.
They go toe figure skaters, so, you know, work on their skills and their skating's.
That's a lot of players that just very true, very true.
Yeah, it's I mean, it's it's crazy, but it's awesome.
It's just awesome how the game's evolved, that we can now appreciate opinions from both candles.
Shot woman out of the game.
I mean, there's hockey players.
I've I've gone to Boston Pride game.
They're blessed, their skilled players.
Um, you can't just, you know, meant Yeah, there's some that, you know, between the NHL N w h l like, yeah, there's a huge gap there but N W H l is on the right track right now.
They just added another team.
Um and yeah, it's just it's the game's getting better for both.
For both genders.
I'm sick of seeing people, especially on Twitter.
Just kind of shut woman out of the game like sick and then at this, like, it's 2020.
I mean, your son, right? Especially because the only people on Twitter that trash any kind of game 100% correct they can't even skate. Probably.
I can't wait to skate this year.
I can't wait to actually skate again.
Remember how Thio.
What's that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Ah, the Grandal's getting sweaty myself.
Dude, I'm telling you cannot wait to go out there and just put the fricking ccm's on and just go.
I'm gonna buy a I get to buy a ficus stick.
That's right. Never mind No. $100.
Are there any nice ponds near you? Which which, um, many, many former semi professional hockey players skated on up here? Well, that's cool.
Yeah, we just got Framingham.
There's not much there.
That means seriously.
There's nothing there. Just skate on.
There's one a few towns over and over.
They have one that they actually take care of.
Like, really? Well, the only thing is, you have to be a resident there.
Just camera people.
They're not hard out there.
Growing up, they were.
I come in like, whatever hockey here, you know, whatever hockey attire, I'd come in, whatever, where they all played town on your own.
But now they don't really give a **** about the town.
Will, you know, the firefighters will come flooded at night and then a little Zamboni that they come out on the they have lights to Oh, yeah, that's awesome.
A lot of people bring girls there for the day.
Just making a ****ing roll over there.
Just I mean, they can't escape by the end of really all we have over here because it's small, so it freezes are pretty quickly.
Um, Dudley Pond and wetlands Good, too.
Yeah, because that's just Twitter, where it was like a bond.
That would be Twitter, because it's just like, well, in s***bags over there.
I mean, yeah, that's I mean, that's obviously true, but uh huh, No, I'm not disagreeing with you there.
It's still pretty good ice when it freezes over.
And then there's the one in front of Cameron to which, when it freezes is good if you don't fall in on the edges.
I saw a kid followed that once.
He's like one leg went in. It was like out of a movie.
One leg went in and everybody started panicking and like he was like, really calm.
And then just like fruit right down right on.
I was I wasn't skating hard.
I was going for the park and really thin ice.
You know how you're creeping and creeping and the cracks get louder and louder.
Yeah, e I'm just like, Oh, here we go. Here we go.
And I was a fat back that was, like £150.
But anyway, I grabbed the park.
I throw it between my legs and I just push off, right? I get like, two or three strides brakes and my leg goes straight down and my other leg goes to the left.
And I had cuts from the ice up my leg all the way up my leg.
I had to get, like, fricking.
I think it was, like 100 something stitches.
Oh, yeah, from that probably.
No, no, e couldn't believe it.
E was I was young too, So yeah, you know, aging gravity, things go away.
No, but I'm pumped to go skating.
And I'm kind of thinking disappointed about this whole, like, um uh, Vermont thing.
Because, you know, the actually anywhere you go now in New England, you have to, like, quarantine for two weeks.
So it's probably not gonna happen this year, but one of the guys on the on the Bob? Yeah, Bruins breakdown hockey podcast.
He's he built a rink every year.
So I'm thinking sooner or later, once everything gets frigging healthy again that we can actually hang around, hang around and drink beers and do some skating.
I think a road trip is in order.
I would just wanna skate, have fun, drink beers and just just make a weekend of it.
You know what? They'll be ****ing awesome from team bonding.
Yeah, bringing corn if I don't quarantine when I get back, Are the quarantine police gonna come after me? Well, see, The thing is, if you do go, if you do cross the body, you're technically half difficult.
Ah, So like or you have to show proof that you have been quarantining, which is absolutely ridiculous.
Don't say **** to him.
Can you provide a negative test, sir? I don't know.
Can you provide a negative test? I have no do***entation of a negative test if I get tested. I don't know. That's stupid.
How are they gonna know? Important e know that it doesn't make asking that you have to show just for me.
All right, well, I'll go right to the hospital.
I mean, I ain't gonna get time off work like that before this because I know some of the black and gold guys.
You guys air up in the North Shore and stuff like that Jack in Maine, and he even said Sturges in reading mass.
He drive down to play with those kids and y'all yo, And I think I Jack, tell me if I'm right or wrong.
But isn't that a park? That's like, basically off of, um ****.
I don't know the freaking route.
Um, but I know that I used to drive by when I was landscaping.
They had, like, three ranks, three or four rinks, side by side, and they had lights around it.
There's some kind of park, and in the summertime you could actually see the, um, the land.
And then they had curves that went down like this.
And then it was flat in the bottom and they flooded.
Want to get a real want to get what, riel? Real quick.
Who's that? There's no that's dad.
You want to get mystical out so long and talk to some old school hockey? I'm down.
Oh, my God. Here we go.
Let's dio I'll be right back.
I'll be right back, all right? I hope he's a senior because I'm gonna call him Jack.
It iss uh, maybe how those columns to God's will? Yeah, Hopefully it's not like going to wake up or anything.
Yeah, not always.
The podcast was so good.
Honestly, it was really good.
Like so much history.
Yeah, I got to give it a listen.
I am e about him. Good.
Here is Jack's dad.
So he should be coming in really quick.
What's up? Hey, Marco are good.
God. So how you doing? I'm doing great.
Thanks for giving me a chance to talk to my hockey with you guys.
I appreciate it.
On the podcast today at work, I was like, You probably heard I got more listening done than work.
It was, and he can't get a job.
And, you know, I heard my podcast love to hang around the garden.
Love, love toe Got lucky enough to meet a couple of the Bruins.
And I love the old time hockey.
The old time hockey, right? E mean, I want we gonna change things.
Next thing you know, you're gonna have helmets and, you know, they're the guys that play with the sticks up high.
So that's right.
They have helmets and face mask.
But old Tom, Canadian hockey.
You know somebody somebody gives you trouble.
Somebody, somebody is a problem.
You drop the gloves to settle it and you move on.
Why do you think I am just the way? I'm certainly not going to say the apple fall doesn't fall.
If I e guys, he's like, Oh, that kid, that could hurt you What? Do you do anything about it? You know what I used Thio? Mark e used to yell to him to get his attention, and I just put up numbers on then leave the numbers of the guys.
We Oh, wow, that's old school E.
That's why hockey should be played.
E don't even this Nancy pansy crap, Although bland when he was like, I'm the actual once I became the actual gold score on my team, he was like, because, like, you can't be doing that change on a dime.
Can't you know Jack had a couple of great years of playing hockey, right? And his biggest years, You know where it is.
Most of his goals were scored from right in front of that.
Right from that.
So about 4 ft, you know? You know what they used to call him a Muslim unit on that he'll fight through it and put the rebound in the net.
Hey, was a little Esposito without the talent? E had a couple of e Yeah, eso So we get a line right here, Jack.
So you would be the sentiment.
I fear the right side and give a nickel.
Right. I'm definitely a defense of sentiment.
You could patch for that.
I don't want anything in.
I convinced him to move to defense after a few years, and I wouldn't do it in his crazy league, which was really a nutcase leak, right? A.
There's a fighting league.
Yeah, which, which is my favorite league, Right? But he went out there and, you know, he pulled the old Lindros thing.
You know who are hit the biggest guy in the Isis hard.
You can your first chef and actually worked for him, So I thought I was crazy.
But I said, Jack, you look in the mirror before we'll get these guys.
Whatever it worked and enjoyment.
So I thank you guys for letting me Come on, talk about my old time hockey, and any time you want, I'll give you a couple of more stories, that's for sure.
That's so awesome.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate that.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate you guys and I love listening.
Can't wait to get another podcast with you guys.
That's gonna be amazing, Theo.
You know what? That's so funny, man.
He killed me there.
I thought it was gonna be positive.
I mean, I guess he's somewhat waas e my weekend goals.
He still doesn't give you credit.
E Now he's good And brother that All right? Nice shirt, by the way.
Grassy s, uh, pockets are.
Although the thing was is Well, I was playing at the same time as my sister.
They watched her over me, So they missed a bunch of the games.
I scored those goals.
I swear on my own staff were there gagner either? E mean, if we were all born at the same time, me and my other sister wouldn't gotten any attention because Shannon was Shannon.
Was the tank nice? I mean, neither of us got an Olympic tryout.
I was, like, eight years away from her, You know, he retired by the time I started playing real hockey, which was good for May.
Why you with that in the beginning? No, like Warren.
Her first two years of playing real hockey. Nobody.
Nobody was showing.
I'm not even made because every Oh, yeah, I was the oldest in the middle of wild.
Always takes the hardest.
So she was like, Oh, my God, I'm after that.
So, like in, honestly, I felt a lot of that, too, But I know she felt it more because she was also a girl and she played in the same, uh, organization of her and was like, What? I'm, like, not ever gonna do that.
Good. Like ****.
And I play a different position.
Stan was just a beast.
She made it harder for all of us.
Not on her at all, but like she was a beast.
Alright, we're gonna We're gonna happen.
So we're gonna wrap this up real quick.
Um, thanks for coming on, brother.
I really appreciate it.
That was amazing.
