e No, you're tired.
E No, you're hurting e.
I wish I could stay something that was classy and inspirational.
But that just wouldn't be our stop paying heels.
Chicks dig scars.
Lithe shotgun D C Right.
Dig on the center, on the center.
Ready? Welcome in ladies and gentlemen to another episode of the Bills.
Guys, my name is Steve Mathis.
You can find me as always on Twitter at Judge Mathis.
And I am joined by my co host, David Tilton.
You can find him on Twitter at Tilt money.
And Boy, the Buffalo Bills did not play this weekend, so we don't have anything to talk about.
Right, Dave? Nothing to talk about. Here.
Those safety standings.
No, no, Really discernible changes there.
Yeah, I mean, holy cow.
Talk about winning ah week without ever even playing the a f c East the sec east goes Oh, and three.
And man, I only got one thing to say Thio on.
Guess what? That was a surprise.
I was not expecting that.
Miami loses to Denver to a is bench in the second half.
Ha ha ha ha! Oh, the New York Jets lose to the Chargers are the first team in the National Football League to be eliminated from the playoff? Uh huh.
And that's but not least, the New England Patriots lose to the lowly Houston Texans to drop 24 and six.
I ha ha ha ha! Oh, could not have been a better Sunday as a Bills fan.
So my first thought that I want from you.
What is your thought? Well, first of all, let's let's talk about who's in the chat right now because people are blowing up the chat.
We got a whole bunch of regulars in here tonight.
We got a lot of regulars.
Ryan still has been in here for like an hour already.
Thomas Bert was lighting up the comments before we went live with a lot of, uh, sarcastic tuna talk.
Uh, dolphins talk.
Sergio Chavez is in the house.
We've got, um, Buffalo Mafia.
News is in the house.
Travis PSINet, Kyle Wilson.
Brian Bowers is in.
Chris Junkie is in.
Um, let's see what else we got. Anthony Green.
Pierre The kingpin is in the house right now.
Randi Hardman Bills Guys N Jeff King Billy Stevens.
We got everybody, uh, truth.
The hearts is in our guy, Robby.
Sports is in Jacobo.
So we've got people ready.
You just showed Brian.
Brian's in there.
And, uh, yeah, so people are ready to just, um you know, Look, it's there.
Ready to finally, like, have a have a day where we can just, like, laugh at the rest of right.
I mean, like, we didn't play.
So this is what this is, the way we got this all we gotta talk about.
I mean, obviously, we're gonna talk about maybe our expectations as the season progresses into.
I'm gonna call it the second half, even though we're 10 games in, because it's such a like by a week.
But before we get into the bills talk, what are your thoughts on Miami's loss and to a second half benching? Yeah.
I mean, look, um, I don't Well, one I'm not completely surprised. Miami lost.
Denver is a very streaky team this year, like they've had their ups and downs, but they've played some pretty good games too, right? They came back.
They beat the Chargers.
Who, despite the record, we feels like a better, a better, you know, on average or better than average team.
They did beat the Patriots.
You know, the Patriots were down this year, so I mean, Denver's had their spots right where they've played well this year.
And Miami was kind of do I think, for a letdown in Kevin ARF.
Insider even kind of somewhat predicted that he was like, You know, I'm kind of expecting a little bit of a letdown.
But the bigger story here, right, obviously, that Miami is losing is was great for the bills, but the benching of two of your right, and like when you're watching it live, At least when I was watching it live, and as things were kind of playing, I was like, Oh, well, he got sacked.
He kind of got rolled up on.
He was going over to the sideline.
It looked like maybe he was hurt.
And then, as like as the broadcast kind of went on, you kind of saw to us just standing on the sideline.
You know, just standing there wasn't getting attention from trainers like I know you.
And for Billy, we're gonna going back and forth a little bit on Twitter about it.
Um, and it turned out, per the head coach, Bryan Flores, that he was not benched for injury.
He was benched for performance, And Fitz Magic dials up another fits magical play for for Buffalo again by throwing that late pick and sealing the victory for Denver.
So, um, my feelings on it or this if two is your franchise, you don't you don't bench.
Um, unless he's injured, right? Unless he's physically unable to go and you're trying to protect him, you don't bench him, right? Um, you gotta let him play through it.
You gotta let him.
You know, it's not the same situation, and a lot of people been talking about is not the same situation is when McDermott put Peterman infer Tyrod, right? Peterman, the thought process there was Peterman was the young guy, and maybe he would give us something more than what Tiger I was giving us where this is the opposite situation.
You have your young guy in, he's going to be your franchise.
No one really expected Peterman to be the franchise.
He was like fifth round two was your the top six pick right, 5th, 5th or sixth overall.
Pick easier guy, so you don't bench him for that.
And, like Florida's, will learn from this.
Uh, you know, I guess he's trying to kind of strike the balance of trying to go for the win in that particular game and the playoffs, maybe for this year versus, like, the long term, you know, potential side effects of benching to in a game like that.
But overall, I mean, he wasn't good to it wasn't good.
And, um, now Flores is gonna have to answer the questions this week about it.
So he just stirred up Rob Johnson.
Doug Flutie, escort of head country, that controversy there in Miami with Fitz being the Flutie, the fan favorite guy and and Rob Johnson and or to a being the flashier guy.
Chris Yankee says I came here to talk Thanksgiving recipes, Guys, what do you put in your stuffing? I don't know.
Anyone Anyone know a dolphin guy? Anyone got a dolphin guy like a black market dolphin guy that I can make some dolphins stuffing food stuffing, uh, dance.
Coming in with the super chat early.
Uh, Dan from Hawaii.
I always like to mention that because I'm jealous of Dan being in Hawaii, just showing my support, you guys killing it always.
Also, Miami losing is a big plus.
It's tragic strikes again.
We've been on the wrong side of that.
Obviously, here's here's Here's my theory in this.
It wasn't Fitzpatrick.
It wasn't fits tragic.
Remember what Brian Fitzpatrick said in a in a radio interview a couple of weeks ago? Who's your favorite fan base? What did he say? He said it was bills.
He said it was Bills Mafia.
So, uh, a little, a little salty, a little salty from the benching.
You know, a little salty from the benching.
Sees the Buffalo Bills at seven and three.
Bryan Flores calls Ryan Fitzpatrick's name, and this is what Ryan Fitzpatrick hears in his head.
I there will only be one more of those.
I promise there will only be one more of those.
I have one more of those planned.
Anything else of those? It will not be planned, but, uh, yeah, it was It was crazy.
And like I was surprised at how Maney national media people came to the defense off.
Bryan Flores after the game.
Quite frankly, Ian Rapoport tweeted.
Ah, good way to keep the luck.
Hold all the players similarly accountable, regardless of where they are drafted.
I mean, I'm sorry, Ian Rapoport, but like, if that was true to wouldn't have ever started a game, Ryan Fitzpatrick was balling out.
He had that team winning.
So if you're holding players accountable and having the best player of play and you would not, you would not go with you would not go with two a tongue of Iowa, even to start not to mention your rattling your top five pick? Uh huh, Yeah.
I mean, I think the thing is is like What you said makes sense, because if the thought process was oh, we're going to start to out of the bye week because this is now his time to take the team over, even though knowing that you were playing well and you were winning now greater, they weren't six and three at the time.
I think they were four and three, maybe, or or something like that.
And you went to him strategically over the bye week to say like Okay, now it's your show.
The rest of the way, you're our future.
And then in game, make the switch to, uh, came Make the switch back to Fitzpatrick.
The heart says like Okay, truth, Heart says.
In normal cir***stances, you don't bench to it.
But if he's not performing and the game is still in hand, you go with the veteran.
But this you don't see that ever with other teams, really like how, how rarely the or how often did you see it felt Borough Joe Burrow never got pulled.
Justin Herbert never got like.
And the the comment people are making is one Miami still in in the hunt and to the backups in San Diego or San Diego in Los Angeles in Cincinnati aren't as good up in Miami.
But you know, this isn't baseball.
If you think Ryan's fits, Pat Fitzpatrick is your closer.
Ryan Fitzpatrick should be starting the game.
There are no closers in football.
You don't bring Ryan Fitzpatrick in for the fourth quarter.
You don't bring Ryan Fitzpatrick in for the last drive.
If the game is on the line, if you're Bryan Flores like, you need to have your young quarterback work his way out of it, I think.
Bruce Nolan from Buffalo, Rumbling said, Hey, put up the statistics from Josh Ellen's Green Bay game.
And again, the situation was different because his backup quarterback was Nathan Peterman and Derek Anderson.
But you know, Sean McDermott wasn't Poland just after that horrendous performance in pay, he was sticking with them.
He was let them fight through it.
He was let him take his lumps.
So to me, this is Bryan Flores.
He made the decision for the future.
Then they continued their heater.
And then he sees an opportunity to pick up another game.
And he panicked.
Goes to the veteran quarterback that he honestly probably has more faith than right now than to uh, that was 100%.
I think what happened.
But that ain't gonna bode well for the future of your top five pick.
Like it's just not top six pick.
It's just not yeah, Chris says.
I think the instant success of Borough and Herbert put pressure on Miami to play, too, and that may be true.
But again, you know, Sergio Chavez says they pulled them because they're in the hunt.
If they were out, they would have left him in.
But then why did they bring them? Why did they start? Start him out of the bye week then anyway, right? They were in the hunt anyway.
They were in the hunt already, with Fitzpatrick winning games for them.
They've blown out San Francisco.
They had beaten the jet like right.
They they had won games going into their bye week.
And then they made the conscious decision, which at the time, by the way, you know, was somewhat a split was somewhat of a split view from the media at that time as well, right? Like should they go to two and now is at the right time? And you had a lot of people supporting Brian floors for that, making that move, and you had some people saying they should have stuck with Fitzpatrick.
But Brian Florida's is the one that has to live that we live with that decision at the end of the and he's the one that has to answer it.
So I will give him credit for coming right out and saying like we bench him for performance, but now he's gonna have to answer questions like what do you think this is going to do to to his psyche? What do you think this is going to do toe to his development like he's gonna have to answer those questions? Um, and if I'm Bryan Flores, I'm just going to say, like you either Gotta, like stick with two of the rest of the way.
And to me, that's really the only option you have now.
I don't think you can go back to Fitzpatrick and then bring two and later again in the season.
Like I think I think you kind of already played that card.
I feel like they have to just write to out, for better or for worse the rest of the way.
That's my that's my Randy Harmon, 52 says Orlowski said it best to us.
Playing small, too, is playing small because two is small.
What is it, Mike? Mike Greenberg, today on ESPN? Hey, asked the question.
I think this is a week after calling two of the best quarterback in the NFC East or something like that.
Or maybe he did it during the off season, but Mike Greenberg came out today and said that Oh, did the Dolphins make a mistake drafting two over Herbert.
And he said, Oh, they did.
And Dan Orlovsky agreed with them.
And this was after an offseason where, like they were ranking to a number one or whatever in the A F C East rankings without even having played a game.
And all those things ranking about how to Josh Allen ranking about how to stand Donald.
In some cases, it was crazy.
But speaking of Herbert, I think it's a great transition.
Aaron Churchill says.
We cannot overlook the charges.
This is trapped hand written all over.
Uh, listen, I I watched both of those games.
I was going back and forth, and I'm watching both of those games pretty intently.
The Jets were bad and the Jets like Release Pierre to see her, and we're starting absolutely dog crap at quarterback and in their secondary.
But still, Justin Herbert was making some absolutely ridiculously beautiful throws like some of his throws were just You don't expect to see those type of throws consistently from a rookie because it's not like he made one or two of them like he was making.
He made 456 passes that were just like Whoa, Okay.
And it wasn't like it was earlier in the season where, like, there was a lot of misdirection, a lot of dump offs, a lot of short stuff, not a lot of pressure on him keeping the stick short, the charters.
And again, it was the Jets defense, but the Chargers just let him loose.
They let him chuck the ball down the field.
They let him spread it out.
They didn't make him, you know that.
There wasn't as much of that manufacturing, the short stuff.
They were let him swing the ball down the field, and the kid responded, You know, they can't responded really well.
So this is a drafting.
Don't don't get me wrong Coming off a bye week, I understand the things the Buffalo Bills have going for him is one o'clock game on a team come from the West Coast, especially in Kobe, where they can't travel earlier than they used to.
I think they have to fly in morning off, and two, I think it's the Chargers first one o'clock game this year, and it's it's Herbert's first one o'clock East Coast game as a pro.
Well, I've been very impressed with Herbert this year.
I mean, he's on pace to shatter almost every major statistical rookie, passing record, touchdowns, yards, completions.
And he's been doing this on a team that defensively has had obviously major injuries.
With Derwin James being out, both has made some time now.
He was back and key pieces on offense.
Also being out with EC lor missing a good chunk of this season.
I mean, the charges are a three and 17, but honestly, there we we know the Heartbreakers the Chargers have had this year.
The leads they've had, the one possession games they've lost.
That's kind of been their m O.
There are three and 17, but honestly, very good.
Easily like you are what your record shows.
But we should not be treating them like a three and 17 like they are a better.
They're better than a three and 17.
And Justin Herbert has has been very impressive this year.
And honestly, um, you know now with Borough, you know, I hope he heals.
But now, with Burrow kind of going out for the year, I mean Justin Herberts, rookie of the year.
It's his rookie of the year to lose at this point, So he's been very impressive.
We've got a super check coming in here from Scott, and thank you.
Scott is always, uh, Shannon Sharpe was coming to the defense of the Dolphins.
Rookie said they should have kept him in there to take those hits and getting experience being in the NFL because statement about being quarterback.
Yeah, he's he did.
That's been he's been getting flamed for that about saying how the NFL wasn't as hard as he thought it was gonna be in all this, and I actually I agree with Shannon Sharpe.
They should have left him in there on God.
I agree with that as well.
I'm Did Mike Greenberg legitimately say that like, these guys are legitimately paid millions of dollars, I think what? You and let and let me just give another.
Let me give a thank you to everybody.
You know, whether you're super chat or not.
We're reading, You know, we're talking about your comments.
We love that you guys were chatting.
This is why we want to do this right? Is because that's the kind of crap you shouldn't have to listen to.
You shouldn't have to listen to the Ryan Clark's.
The Mike Greenberg's just talk out of their ass is about these hypotheticals thes uh, you know, click bait, whatever you wanna call it, right? I mean, we want to talk about the Bills in the most riel way we can.
You know, we're obviously fans, and we we can be homers at times, but we're all we can also be critical of the team as well.
So we want we want to bring that to this forum.
And so, yeah, I agree.
You know, Bill's guys in Mike Greenberg's Dolphins, said Herbert, they'd be compete with the Chiefs. Come on, man.
Randy Harmon says Sharp is right.
You know Sharp is he does that, that Fox sports show with Skip Bayliss.
I don't know if anyone saw Skip Bayless dancing last night.
Maybe if the Bills win, I should Photoshop uh ah bills jersey on Skip Bayless and I have a dancer.
That's why maybe I'll do next week.
I don't know if my video shopping skills are that good.
I might have to get.
I might have to get our I might have to get our man.
What's his name on the line? Um oh.
What's the bills? By a billion.
No bills by a billion.
Uh, why am I blanking on his name? The mustache, the mullet.
Come on. Does all the videos.
Oh, um um Bills, Guys, Something, right? No, it's, uh, literally.
I just I literally just had a conversation with him today.
I feel really bad liking at his name, but getting a video of skip A list dancing the bills jersey would just be I'm sorry.
Not Yeah, brother Bill.
I apologize, brother. I I know who you are.
It was just a complete absolute brain ****.
But getting Elliott says, Skip, Skip.
I don't know if you guys know this or not, but he nicknamed himself Drip Bayliss and nobody nobody who dances like that can ever call themselves drip.
No one, um, talking about talking about that Chargers chats game.
You know, first of all, kudos to Anthony Lynn.
All it took was the New York Jets for him to finally close the game, and he almost didn't Hey, let the Jets come back in that thing too.
Could the jets go in 16? Could the jets go in 16.
I I legitimately think that there was a poll today on Twitter.
I can't remember who put it out of some national media poll. Put it out.
What was more likely the Jets to go in 16 or the Steelers to go 16.
When I said, without a doubt, the Jets to go, Oh, in 16, um, there the Steelers have shown that they potentially could lose a game.
They didn't play against Dallas, but the Jets in no way have shown other than that Patriots game where they show they might be better off if they might be better off with Flacco.
But here's the thing there.
If they go Oh, in 16.
Now we know the Lions did it, and we know the Browns did it.
I think the Jets are the worst of those three teams.
If they go Oh, in 16.
In my opinion, they're the worst.
They had the worst coach.
They have the worst roster of all of those teams.
I just feel like that they could go down as one of the worst teams in NFL history.
If they go on 16.
Yeah, and you know, see our response.
I hope the Jets win one.
It's awful not to win one game.
Yeah, Frank or Frank or is on that roster.
So I kind of feel for Frank.
Or but I also hate Adam Gates.
I hate Greg Williams.
I hate Harry Anderson.
Try to think of anyone else I hate.
I don't think I hate anyone else on the train.
So we don't hate him.
Yeah, I never even really? Yeah, so I mean, there's still 33 guys that I really can't stand on that team we like.
Yeah, I love me some Michael P.
Ryan, but all right, last but not least, in our trip around the A F C East here.
New England Drop Ah, game to the lowly Houston, Texas.
I thought this was a game that they would win and they would get back up to five and five and they would get back into the conversation because, you know Shawn Watson is to Shawn Watson.
He absolutely carried that team like he always does when they win a game, but that that team is not a very disciplined team in Houston.
They still managed to beat a very disciplined team in New England.
Are they done? Are they done? Are they out? Probably.
I mean, they're probably you're talking about that? The two teams that are currently sitting outside the playoff picture that are not even in right now are 26 and four teams, so the Patriots would have to make up two games.
Plus, you know, uh, they did beat the Ravens so they would have the tiebreaker tiebreaker there.
But I think, honestly, this Houston New England game, I think it just came down toe.
Some, you know, although the Texans roster, top to bottom, isn't super great, like their top and talent is better than New England's.
And that starts and ends with Shawn Watson and JJ Watt.
Right? So for me, this was a game where talent kind of maybe outshined, um, discipline a little bit.
And hey, Romeo, Cornell, you know, familiar with New England.
There's some There's something to that, um, and and I think that Houston is probably a better team than three and seven, like I said about the Chargers.
But again, you know, you are what your record is, and I'm not very.
I'm not that surprised that Houston won that game, but our army of one coming in here, says Kingpin.
Nice beer, Delusional Bills fan.
You come with the king, sir.
You best not miss.
So I would just watch yourself Army and one in the comment section there, uh, Sergio says, Thanks again, Sergio for the Super Chat.
He's, uh, he's been a regular.
Ours now for for several weeks now is coming in with a lot of good comments.
Huge shout out to all bills fans.
What fans did in honor of Josh's grandmother and Children's hospital shows why we have the best fans family go bills for for real, and the number is still growing right? People are still donating.
I mean, some Cardinals fans even started donating S Oh, that was good between between that, like, ponchos packs the story of what Harrison Phillips did for all those you know, special needs kids during the pandemic, getting them out of the house and stuff like that at the drive in movie theater.
Um, you know the thing we did with the Baltimore radio host the Cincinnati Bengals stuff I mean 26 shirts, Del Read I mean, what can you say about bills? Mafia, like Mafia is family.
Like this is the best fan base in the National Football League period.
Oh, the Dallas Cowboys.
You see? A telescope was sure. Ever. Yeah.
Every time you see someone wearing a Dallas you were praying for Tommy Sweeney to Yeah.
We're gonna get to Sweeney and Hodgins s o. I mentioned Hodgins.
We're just about to get Thio, sweetie and Hodgins in the next in the next talking points here.
But it's like you run into a Cowboys fan.
Nine out of 10 Cowboys fans you run into you, like, name five players on the team, they can't do it.
You see somebody wearing a Green Bay Packers hat? You walk out to him.
Hey, Name five. Green Bay Packers.
They can't do it.
You walk up to and one of my favorite one of my favorite tailgating games.
My cousin taught me this game.
We used to do it every bills, Patriots game, walk around the parking lot.
We did this in Foxboro to walk around the parking lot.
Walk up to these people wearing patriots jerseys named five New England Patriots that played on the on the New England Patriots before 1999 minus Steve Grogan.
Can't do it. They couldn't do it.
They couldn't do it.
So truly Bills Mafia.
Like we're sitting here talking about Tommy Sweeney and Isaiah Hodgins.
People wanna talk about Tommy Sweeney and Isaiah Hodgins, two guys who legitimately haven't even played this year.
And the people in the comments section wanna talk about those two guys.
The people on our team could Neymar long snapper.
How many NFL fans could name their teams? Long snapper? Not many.
Alright, so bills mafia, shadow to you.
Uh, we're army of one, wherever you are. I don't know.
But so anyway, all right, so that brings us to to do Ah, conversation.
I want to talk about Yeah, Tommy Sweeney.
Like, pray for the man.
Those guys them says, Pray for Tommy Sweeney.
It's ah, you know, Cove.
It is not ah, hoax people.
Uh, it is a real thing, and it has real life implications on real life people, and it's more than just killing you.
And hey, turns out he has a heart condition from contracting Kobe, which eyes gonna end his season.
And honestly, from what I've heard, these types of things could end careers.
So, yeah, hopefully he can get back and thoughts go out. Thio.
Tommy Sweeney, who season is officially over, which a lot of the Dawson knocks Fans in the comments section are not gonna like, and I say that facetiously because there's not made Dawson knocks fans left.
But speaking of tight ends watching Sinai football last night and I tweeted this out, Darren Waller and Travis Kelsey really had me thinking about Round one of the NFL draft because there are, too can't miss tight end prospects in this year's draft in In Kyle Pits and Pat Friar meth.
And if one of those two guys are on the board for the Buffalo Bills in the late twenties, when they're picking, I understand that we have more needs.
I understand the historically first round picks do not pan out at tight end, but those two guys be pretty hard to pass up, and I I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't at least being attention for best player on if the Buffalo Bills were picking in the mid twenties.
Uh, toe add a weapon like that to the offense.
Friar mute over the middle with his like 67 frame, his ability to run after the catch At that size, Uh, Kyle pits his ability to go up and get it on those deep balls.
He's practically just a big slot receiver.
He's not really a tight end.
Uh, yeah, I really would like to like as much as I think we don't need it if one they're signing me, those tight ends.
I mean, I'm with you because, I mean, I think you made the comment today on Twitter, right? You gotta You can't really judge past drafts.
You got to scout the individual player and, you know, late twenties to me, make sense for taking like an uber talented tight end like one of those guys.
Maybe not like in the top 10, where we're kind of used to drafting.
But if you're in the twenties and you could get one of those guys and hey, then I might be all for it.
I mean, even guys like, um, you know, Hawkinson and Fan from a year ago, it took him until their second year before they really got going, but those both of those guys were really playing well.
Guy like Hayden Hurst, who was a former first rounders now really just coming into his own with Atlanta, was kind of behind Mark Andrews in Baltimore and got of getting out of his shadow so these guys can make big impacts.
Darren Waller was a forgot man and resurrected his career.
Uh, Florida guy and we know Kelsey.
You know, he wasn't he wasn't a super early draft picks.
So, um, it is kind of it's disheartening.
And it's not because it's fun seeing those guys, you know.
But if you look at what like Oakland, Oakland, Vegas, the situation, it's like Darren Waller is their number one option, right? And then they got kinda got, like a bunch of a bunch of guys like a galore.
And Renfro is a Jones, So the difference.
You know, the big difference is like I think when you have Tyreke and a Sammy Watkins that you can put with a Kelsey man, that changes things a lot for your offense.
You have You can do a lot more.
So imagine, like the likes of Diggs and John Brown and Gabriel Davis and Beasley and then having an elite level tight end.
Like you said, it's more of a luxury.
Uh, you know, based on knees, we're gonna need corners.
We're gonna need linebackers.
But, man, that the thought of that in an offensive minded league right now with Josh kind of really step in his game up this year, wouldn't you love that? Just put something like that on the field with him.
Speaking of speaking of offensive minded leagues, can I tell you a thought that ran through my mind last night watching that Sunday night football game? That's probably gonna get a lot of flak for me in the comment section.
Okay, I want a dog.
Like if we do build a new stadium, I want a dome toe watch car in my homes, go back and forth like that.
I feel like not playing in a dome kind of robbed the Buffalo Bills of that opportunity to do that against Patrick Mahomes.
We played him because the weather was just so ****ty.
Like I I understand like it was just an ultraconservative weather game plan and I just as the bills like as A as a fan of football and as a fan of Josh Allen and as a fan of offense.
Car and homes go back and forth like that.
It really disappointed me that we didn't from Josh Allen and, uh, and Patrick Mahomes.
I would say that with the way the team is currently constructed, that makes a lot of sense.
Now you're gonna get a ton of **** from for that s where is so there's some to Travis is gonna get its first, uh, Kurtz says, moved to Toronto if you want to.
Don't trust that that dome is terrible.
I went to the I went to two games in the Toronto Siri's not great retractable, but that's even more expensive that way.
Too expensive, e.
I mean, look the way the team is currently constructed with Alan and these weapons like you can from a football standpoint, Aiken.
It makes sense, right, but like the problem is, is the Buffalo people are going to say That's not us.
That's not our style.
We want it miserable for other teams, and Josh Allen's got the big in a farm to get us through some of these tougher weather games.
But the way we're built right now, like we're we're built to be like an indoor team right now.
Honestly, I mean, that's That's just the facts.
Like we're not running the ball or defense isn't really like stout, right? I mean, we are.
Ah, we are, Ah, shootout style.
Like Chuck the ball up and down the field kind of team.
And, um so I think you'd get some support on that.
I think there's a It's probably fairly split, um, dome and not dome.
But if you take the whole just like personality, maybe out of it of like, the fans and, like, the stigma and the tough like, yeah, I could see that system contaminants.
John, John, John the Marshal coming in.
Listen, my bills walked up Hills both ways to games before and after.
Like they're not.
They're not dome boys.
Uh, here's the thing.
Kansas City doesn't play in the dome, right? Yeah, that's cool.
I mean, I'm still salty over that game, all right? I'm still salty over that game, but all right, I e take you back, all right.
Before we get into the before we get into the bill Stock.
I'm very easy to convince Amanda people, uh, before we get into the bills, talk because our topic today is going to be setting expectations for the second half of the season.
One question to you.
Did you see, uh, did you see Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield play football at all yesterday? I sure did.
E o E and the Browns air 73 somehow, uh, people around.
Yes, there was a couple of people who watch Lamar Jackson and and watching Baker Mayfield.
Despite the fact that the Ravens are six and four and despite the fact that Cleveland one and they are seven and three.
Ah, couple of a couple of national pundits are starting to come around and say like, Hey, you know, was Josh on the best quarterback in that in that draft class? So, uh, it is it is nice to see that maybe some people are are coming around on Josh Allen, maybe possibly being the best quarterback in this draft class.
Um So it took Bills fans a lot less time to come around to that notion.
It's taken the national media a little bit longer because I don't think very many girlfriends were happy when we drafted Josh Allen.
But our tune changed pretty quickly.
I would say maybe like one game, like the Minnesota game.
Or maybe like the first game back after injury, the Jacksonville game.
We were all, huh? We were all hooked after that s o.
You know, the Bills fans started coming around, but it's taken a while for the national media to come around.
So it's nice to see some minds are are starting to change it, like with Sergio says, Keep Josh Allen.
Ah, see, you know the thing I find interesting right is Baker played pretty well this rookie season 27 touchdowns.
Lamar obviously won M V p and his in his second year, so the arc of each of these guys has been a little bit different.
Like bakers, Arc is almost like a He started high and kind of has.
He's kind of went down like in a in a straight line.
Lamar's kind of went like up and then kind of down, and Josh has been more of them like the the straight kind of line up trajectory.
So it's just interesting to see how, like the arc shapes of these guys through the first three seasons has taken shape in like it's I feel bad for Josh Rosen.
Honestly, I'm the be the first to admit I wanted Josh Rosen on draft night and I mean it clearly I'm wrong, but I still don't know what Josh Rosen really is.
So I'm more than happy to have Josh Allen and Donald again, you know? Hard to say, Like how much of it is the case effect? He's had injuries as well.
Players that leave Adam J seem to do well, So maybe, you know, Donald has a chance to kind of pull a Josh Rosen, maybe and go somewhere and back up.
Who knows? Maybe maybe Donald goes to Pittsburgh, goes to back up.
And India was another team that was mentioned as well behind Philip Rivers there.
I was gonna say other people in the comments section saying I wanted also wanted Rose.
Yeah, I mean, I wanted to admit it.
I'm not afraid to admit that I wanted Rose.
I want e knew we weren't e knew.
We weren't going to get Baker, so I figured, Hey, Lemar wasn't even really on my radar, honest.
So at least we didn't have, uh, Mason.
Rudolph is our Q B one or two not gonna name names, but, uh, all right, a couple of housekeeping things before we move on to our main subject today setting expectations for the rest of the season.

All right, on to onto the big storyline for today the expectations for the rest of the season.
And honestly, Dave, I have one.
I only have one question going forth the rest of the season for Josh Allen, Sean McDermott, the Buffalo Bills.
And this is my one Question E.
Yeah, you are you're killing it with man.
Too bad that people are listening to Well, I guess those they would get they get the same effect.
They just won't see this sweet video of the guy coming down, Uh, Cirque du Soleil style.
Uh oh, man. Yeah.
They need to take us higher.
I had to go there.
I almost did that myself.
You could tell because it's really, really bad.
I almost I didn't have time to do it.
I was gonna I was gonna I was gonna shoot a d m two brother Bill, and just be like, Could you do this for me? And I didn't have time.
So I straight up trying to do it myself.
And that's what it turned out to be.
So wasn't great, but I think you get the point.
My question for Josh Allen and Sean McDermott.
Can you take us higher? Can you elevate us from a team that makes the playoffs and and with toe and loses to a team that makes the playoffs wins the game, maybe goes on a run because that's my expectation for the second half from the Buffalo Bills.
I don't just need you to make the playoffs.
I don't just need you to win the division.
I need you to get.
Once you're into the playoffs, I need you to win a **** game.
Because if you don't the Houston Texans whispers, will start the Cincinnati Bengals.
Whispers will start the Minnesota Vikings like Mike Zimmer.
Whispers will start and you don't like, Quite frankly, you don't want your name.
Sean McDermott associate ID with Mike Zimmer, Marvin Lewis and Bill O Brien.
You don't you don't.
So we need to get in the playoffs.
We need to win a game.
We need to go on a run.
We need to show that once we get there were the real deal.
That's what I need to see from the Buffalo Bills in the second half of the season.
You're you're getting somewhat roasted.
In the comment for the creed, Chris, Jackie said, Was Chumbawamba booked or something? If you guys haven't, we're just trying to bring you guys haven't seen that.
That is one of the greatest halftime shows in the history of Thanksgiving Day.
I mean, come on, that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life before was that Brian Mormon doing aerials looks great.
That's when the funniest **** things that wasn't meant to be serious like that is just one of the most unintentionally funny things I have ever seen in my entire life.
And I just had to I had to.
I had to somehow find a way toe to spin it in a Bills centric light.
Well, let me tell you what my expectation is, and my expectations haven't really changed since the beginning of the season.
I said at the beginning of the season I wanted to win Ah, playoff game and I kind of nuance that a little bit and said, I wanted to win a home playoff game, right? I want to win the division and win a home playoff game, and kind of whatever happens after that was sort of a bonus.
But let me tell you something.
If the Bills do end up finishing the year with 11 or 12 winds and win the division convincingly and look like one of the better teams in the A F. C.
Like a true contender, if they only win now, obviously winning that first playoff game.
That's a huge hurdle.
They gotta climb right. It's again.
It's the mental her.
It's the same thing over again.
It's like getting over to the 20 years of losing to the Patriots, getting over the drought.
It's like it's a big mental hurdle toe win that playoff game, but you got to do it.
You gotta win that playoff game this year.
And then, yes, whatever happens after that is a bonus.
But honestly, like in my mind, I'm kind of thinking like, Yeah, way should win a playoff game But maybe more, maybe more than that, like I'm not saying we gotta run through the A F C championship and potentially make a Super Bowl run.
Although you did pick the Bills to win the Super Bowl against the Packers this year, I would say at this stage I would be depending on how it played out.
I would be happy winning a home playoff game, and then whatever happens after that, I could chalk up to like a learning experience in a growing experience in the next year.
With that said like somewhat feel that is a loser ish mentality to say, I'm happy just winning the playoff game because as soon as we win that playoff game, I'm gonna be like, Let's go on this run this year right now.
Why not this year? Why can't we do it this year, right? Why not? Why not? But first things first.
You gotta win the division and you gotta win that home playoff games.
So for me, that's my brain, telling me that's what I need to see.
And then my heart's kind of telling me, Do whatever you can after that and make it make it like a fairy tale ending.
If you can't write that Seattle game was an absolute paradigm shift for me because that Seattle game, you know, sort of told me like if this team is firing on all cylinders, they can beat anybody and they truly can get E O.
And you answered the question from John that again.
I'll tell you what I mean.
I'm about to super chat myself just toe here that thing again.
It's on my Twitter page.
So anyone who wants to go follow me at Judge Mathis at judge, where is it? Where is it At Judge Mathis? It is on my Twitter page it did not pick up the steam.
I was expecting it to take up on Twitter today.
It only had, like, 200 views at the time of the show.
So let's get this thing viral, baby.
As bad as it is, it's so good is I think I texted the BF family chat.
It's the it's the It's the best worst thing I've ever done or the worst best thing I've ever done it e It's so great.
I want you guys to be entertained whether it's bills, talk, creed videos.
Yeah, e kind of make peas like PNG pictures images like take the backgrounds, other things, like two weeks ago.
And I have been on a really crazy lately.
Just making stupid ass videos and things by putting the PNG is over stupid stuff.
But yeah, it's Ah.
I'll tell you what you mentioned.
We gotta win the A F c East.
We've got to get a home playoff game in order to do that.
Your record expectation for me With what six games left, I want to see at least four wins at least four wins.
Yeah, I mean, we had I think, um I forgot which show was that we had on where we were kind of predicting our before.
It was before I think, the Seattle game.
Or maybe it was before the Cardinals game.
We were saying, What do you need to do in the last seven games? It must have been before the Cardinals game, and I said four and three, right, So we're now 11 in that.
So now we gotta be.
I say we gotta be four and two in the last six.
So I'm with you on that.
I think four and two over the last six makes sense.
I think that, um, you know, I think the Steelers are gonna be obviously a tough game.
The Steelers air likely going to be trying to fend off Kansas City for that number one seed.
So we're going to get their best shot and one of these other games, whether it's Miami or New England or the Chargers.
You know, Denver and the Niners.
I feel pretty good about, you know, winning those games, but like there's a chance we could slip up against one of these other teams.
Whether it's the Chargers, you know, New England again going into their place.
So I say four and two is a great goal in a great target.
I mean, obviously that gets you to 11 and five and likely secures the A F C East and an 11 1 season is nothing.
Teoh is nothing to sneeze at, man.
I think that would be a great It would be a great goal.
Hashtag sports says we gotta collab Geisel the comment content way love what you guys do.
So, yeah, words did.
We were down to collaborate any time and then chase Wellner comes in and says, First time watcher And the first thing I see is Creed When I hopped on first Great, we might have ah, way might have someone quitting the show already.
My question chases.
Does that make you want to stay, or does that make you want to go? Eso uh, All right, so yeah, I I like what Randy said.
It's a minefield, but it's manageable because every single one of those games you could lose like I'm not gonna lose all of them.
But on any given Sunday, a week to week league, any of those teams could be any of them.
Um, if Denver's got a healthy drew lock, they're they're capable of beatings and teams with Vic Fangio calling the defense side of all because they do.
Like I said that.
Like when we around with Kevin last week.
I said, if if any defensive coordinator is gonna find to his number, it's gonna be Vic Fangio and they might not have Von Miller and their secondary might not be what it used to be.
But Vic Fangio is a very good coach, and he will find, too was weakness, And he will exploit it. And sure enough, he did.
It was all a bunch of what? Um, it was all a bunch of, like, stunts.
And it was Russian for Russian five.
All those different things.
So, uh, how does judge live in Arizona is in tan.
I got, like, three lights shining on my face right now.
I can change the filter, I think.
Although there that work for you, the better for you.
Like your looks like you're now in a nice sunset.
Here we go Like that. Not on tan.
So tan Just like that.
The instagram filter.
Uh, yeah, We got some people in the comments section 11 and 5, 12 and 4, 11 and five Truth.
The heart says 12 and four.
Um, you know, So that's kind of I think, where people are, you know, people are seeing that, you know, like 12 and 4, 11 and five Seems, you know, seems pretty pretty achievable Honestly.
And like, you know, no one's saying that we're going to go, uh, you know, you know, hopefully not lose.
You know more than we win these last few.
I mean, you could limp into the playoffs still on win this division, but I wouldn't feel great about that.
I mean, you, you know, you said, and I think I agree with you.
Last time we were talking about this is like going into the playoffs with momentum and winning those last two games, which are both division games or are important.
So even if we go three and four or three and three, I should say, If you win those last two, it's also not the worst thing in the world, right, cause in your 10 and six, and you won your last two games against division opponents going into the season end of the season, Billy Stephen says.
Putting out there 13 and three.
So is Anthony Green's in 33.
Elliott was joking when he said nine and seven and nine and seven waas was my my my before the season prediction, I said, The Buffalo Bills go nine and seven.
I said that with the best record in the NFC East and we have a home playoff game and there was nothing.
There was nothing wrong about going nine and seven.
But now that we're here 10 weeks in, I don't even know if nine.
The F C East stacked or the A F C Not the F c East the A f c a stacked.
I don't even know if.
Even with an extra playoff game or an extra playoff team, I don't even know if nine wants to get to their e mean Tennessee Kansas City.
But then again, right now, right now, Um, there's not a five and five team in the A f.
Right, so you've got the 26 and fours and then Denver sitting there in the 10th spot with the Patriots set four and 60 right now, there's no five and five team, meaning that the Broncos pats.
You know, they're four and six.
They'd have to win out just to go 10 minutes.
No, but I'm just saying, like, you know, there are two teams that are six and four right now that are on the outside looking in.
It is very likely that a 99 winds maybe doesn't get you in.
Maybe 19 When team gets you gets in, I need to look at this.
Yeah, so right now, let me let me lay out the playoff picture right now.
So the Steelers with one spot? Obviously, they're 10 and no Chiefs in the two spot nine and one Bills are currently in the three spot seven and three colts in the four spot 73 winning the A F C South.
Right now, the Titans air in the five spot at seven and three there in second in the A F C South Browns in the sixth spot.
Who would be the Bills opponent if the playoffs started today and the Raiders are in the seven spot at six and four as they have the tiebreaker over both the Ravens and the Dolphins, who are also both six and four.
And then, like I said, there's no five and five teams.
You got Denver in New England who are both four and six after that.
So, yeah, I mean, there are just nine teams, all that six plus wins, and that's what just scares the hell out of me.
But I don't think I mean, I don't think nine wins is genuine.
Honestly, I really don't.
Not with out with there being right now.
What is it? 46 and four teams.
Is that right? Uh, no.
36 and four teams and seven.
And to seven and three teams that are in the wild card because the Colts are winning the division right now with seven and three.
So I don't know, man.
I think nine is gonna be a stretch.
I think you're gonna have to get to 10 to make the playoffs.
Yeah, let's Zahalka about, like in game like expectations.
Not so much like overall record, but from position groups and from side of the ball.
Okay, expectations for the offense.
What does the What do you think the offense needs to do for this team to keep on rolling and to meet these expectations that we sort of laid out for them.
What is the offense? Got to Dio? Well, I think at some point in these next six games, you know, we've had the one game against the Patriots where we showed we could win.
We could win a game running the ball.
I think at some point in that these next six games, you're gonna have to show, um, you're gonna have to show that you can win and win a game by running the ball one way or another, whether it's running or running early, whether it's running late to finish, finish out a game.
I do think that's going to come and be important come playoff time, although I, you know, still would say that the passing offense being you know, Rolling is more important than the running offense being rolling.
Just going in the playoffs.
That's gonna get you further likely.
But I would like to see the running game pick up a little bit, right.
I'm not saying we have to all of a sudden go back to run heavy or even go to 50 50 honestly, but are rushing.
Offense has been really bad, and some of that's by design, because we've been passing a lot.
But some of that's obviously because of the issues with the interior offensive line.
So I think as the interior of the offensive line comes back to health, let let me just let me just see that you can run the ball effectively somewhat.
You don't have to run it 30 times a game, but I want you to be efficient with your carries.
That's what I want to see.
So that Zatz probably my number.
One thing I want to see on offense, side of the ball because I think from a passing offense I've seen what I need to see the Bills have done.
Have done it all different ways, passing the ball.
And so, um, I don't know that there's much more improvement.
I would say that you can see out of the passing game, right? I mean, and we're gonna get to the Mitch more stuff because a bunch of people are bringing up Mitch Morris.
Don't Don't get me wrong.
We're gonna get to that in a second.
But, uh, PJ tie coming and saying four complete quarters, and I think, David, I don't think we can.
I don't think we can play a complete football game or complete football games will be rare unless, as you mentioned, we can get some MAWR efficiency from the run game.
As Faras Josh Allen goes as far as Josh Allen goes, I I did a couple of podcasts over the off season, one with paper, ran and won with Joe Marino.
And it's it's really interesting, because this story has sort of grown a mind of its own.
I I went on to paper and podcast, and I said, If the Buffalo Bills want to compete in the FC with the FCS elite were with the FCS elite that Josh Allen would have toe would have to score 40 touchdowns combined, passing in Russian and Joe Marino was listening, and he asked me to come on his pot and talk about it and me saying that Josh Allen needs 40 touchdowns for the Bills to be in the upper echelon turned into judges, calling 40 touchdowns for Josh.
And sure enough, he's bailing me out.
He is 13 touchdowns away.
Uh, so he's just over two touchdowns a game away from doing that.
So Josh Allen keeps the pace.
He's going in terms of scoring.
I think the Buffalo Bills are definitely gonna be in contention for for all of these games, Um, and and And that brings in Reid's comment because I want to transition now. Thio.
So what I think we need from the run game and reads Coming in one of the original bills guys always appreciate reading says, Here's an interesting question for you.
Would you guys rather have a cold weather type of built team where you can run the rock or a pass heavy shootout type of team? I would rather watch these guys throw honestly.
I want my cake and I want to eat it, too.
Like I want a team that can play in the fall and complain a dome and could throw all over people.
And I want a team that's good enough on the ground to be able to handle the cold weather game because I think Josh Allen is the kind of quarterback who can still be Kansas City aside, can still be effective in bad weather.
Josh Allen could still throw through tight winds.
Josh Allen could still use his legs in a cold weather game with, uh, you know, in the snow and things like that.
So what I need, why would I expect from the Buffalo Bills and what I need from the Buffalo Bills? Because, first of all, Sean McDermott.
When you say Mitch Morse is in the mix, I really hope you're playing trying to play mind games on the Los Angeles Chargers.
Because guess what? I don't believe you.
And if you are serious about what you're saying Sean McDermott about Mitch Morris, right, we're gonna have to have a conversation about what's going through that man's head.
If he doesn't think that Mitch Morris is the best option for the Buffalo Bills at center, because my expectations for the Buffalo Bills running game Mitch Morrison center coming out of the bye week Cody Ford, it left guard John Feliciano right guard, and they finally find the formula to reestablish that run game with Devin Singletary. ANZAC Moss.
That's what needs to happen in the second half for this team toe elevate and get over the top because there's gonna be plenty of cold weather games.
There's gonna be plenty of games in that that they're probably gonna need the Buffalo Bills to run the ball a little bit more.
You're still gonna need those big place from Josh Allen, but you're gonna have to be able to run the ball efficiently.
At least give me a 60 40.
Someone in here says 65 35.
In my opinion, I needed more like 60 40 55 45.
And I want I want Josh Allen to go from, ah, quarterback who was efficient throwing it a high volume two.
Here is the next step.
Here's what he couldn't do against Kansas City.
Here's what Josh Allen could not do against Kansas City, and it cost us the game.
Be efficient when he's a low volume passer, right that game where he throws the ball 25 times, you still got to make those big place.
So that's what I want to see.
I want to see the run game.
Hey, did that against New England and what he have 18 attempts in the game.
I mean, he was what, like 11 or 12 out of 19.
He made the throws kind of when he needed to in that one.
But yeah, I'm with you.
Army of one says John Feliciano's playing out playing much more respect.
Okay, but he Mitch Morse L playing Brian.
Winners push on police.
You want a guard? Put me Sports center.
What in the world would anyone? What in the world would anyone? How would anyone in this world think that Brian winners should be part of our starting five office? Well, I mean, anything you could do to get that guy off the football field, you do it.
And if it's if it's putting your $11 million cornerstone center that you decided to build your office of line around one year ago at his position, Natural position off center, and put John Feliciano at right guard, where he played all last year and played fine, do it.
What in the mix? What are we talking about here? Like it's crazy.
The Onley thing that comes to mind for me is that, like he's healthy.
But he like he just doesn't want to play.
Like maybe he doesn't want to play like Is that a possibility that, like Mitch Morris just maybe doesn't wanna go out back on the field? E mean, you would like to think he would hear something from him if that was the case, But yeah, I I agree.
I mean, as far as the running, you know, running and passing, what would I rather have? I want my cake, and I want to eat it, too.
But I also I think that that's why Kansas City, so tough to be and they're like the elite team is like when they choose to run the ball, they can run the ball and they now have Clyde Edwards, Hillary and Lobby on Bell that we kind of forget about when we talk about Kansas City because they're always throwing the ball to to Kelsey into Tyreke.
And when Sammy's like so you wanted, That's what you want to strive for of your the Bills.
You wanna have an offense like that? I mean, that's historical, obviously, but that's kind of what you're looking at, John says.
Okay, you also the Harbor Rabel chatter.
Don't get me started on Grable.
I think that guy's like a piece of ****, but on almost almost fight, Mr.
We could McDermott takes £260 rebel in a fight, please crazy theory.
Uh, Sean McDermott.
It wouldn't even be close.
Sean McDermott's got that rustling background.
He's got the leverage he would get down low.
He would take for a below the ground.
Rebel reminds me like a like a street fighter like Vrabel will be like the guy that, like would get into, like a bar fight.
But McDermott would be, like, tactical and use like actual, like wrestling moves to take him down.
That that's my view.
Yeah, we got the biggest troll in the history of the planet here.
This is thistles trolling along.
I think maybe it's sarcasm.
Maybe it's sarcasm, e think, Uh, yeah, And then you know a good transition here.
Someone said, uh, more confident the offense or defense Last six games, I think.
Obviously, we're more confident in the offense.
But let's talk about this defense.
Matt Milano should be back after the Chargers game.
Hopefully, hopefully, um, you're gonna get healthier in the secondary.
With Norman and Levi Wallace coming back, Michael Hyde's got a chance to rest up a little bit.
Tree whites got a chance to rest up a little bit.
Um, you know, even guys on the defensive line like Jerry Hughes and Vernon Butler and Quinton Jefferson and add Oliver have been battling stuff.
So this, despite we came in a really good time for this team to get healthy.
And as we as we head into the playoff push as long as nobody gets hurt, this defense is going to get healthy and honestly, despite the fact that we're still missing that one Tech.
So I think that's going to keep us from ever being an elite defense like we were last year.
Um, I think this could be a perfect storm of players returning that could help this defense get it back together.
And as Randy Harmon says, right at the right time, it's definitely at the right time.
And, like, I guess the one nice way to look at this is you're like, Hey, the defense really like hasn't been that good this year.
So, you know, getting guys back healthy, maybe having the bye week to correct some things, getting back to basics on a few things like I mean, even if the defense, like marginally, improves, like you know more, maybe more than marginally.
But like Improves gets Milano back, maybe gets a little fire back in him.
With Milano back in the lineup, I you know they could be.
I mean, I don't think they're going to be as good as the offense down the last six games.
But I think they could be Ah, unit that rounds into form as we get towards the playoffs, to where they can do enough for us in the playoffs to make some noise and also do enough for us in these last six games to secure that division.
And, you know, potentially, you know, potentially more.
Probably not gonna get the one seed.
But you know, you never know what could happen.
So, um, I think that it's good timing.
The bye week was good timing for the defense.
Uh, hopefully, you know Milano is gonna miss this game.
So hopefully Heckler misses another game for the Charter's.
I know that he's possibly coming back this week.
That would obviously be a mismatch.
But I'm with you.
I think that given the way the defense has performed anything, getting, getting anything back now getting back to even towards the middle of the pack.
To me it's like, I'll be happy with it. I would be happy.
B b f l o Mafia news terms with Elvis. Underrated.
I mean, I've heard this conversation from multiple podcasts and multiple, um, you know, multicast of multiple people in the Twittersphere and and me and you have had this conversation.
He's playing out of position.
They have him playing one tech all the time and taking up two blockers.
That's not at Oliver's game.
He's never gonna be Aaron Donald.
But if you put him in the right position and put the right guy next to him, he could still be a very highly effective football player.
And he's still holding his own.
Even when he's playing in a less than ideal position.
He's just not ex selling.
He's just sort of blending in at all.
Yeah, Johnny Marr, she says.
He's a great football player.
He is a really good football player.
He was definitely worth the pick, and I can't wait until we get like a really defensive tackle next to him next year.
Not that Quinton Jefferson isn't.
It's just that they're both the same guy.
I want a big fat guy.
I've been calling for a big fatty all year, and we didn't get our big fatty that we wanted in snacks.
Harrison so But I was looking at.
Do you think that? Just a sidebar quickly.
I was thinking about this the other day.
Do you think that's partially because they do? I mean, I expect them to have star on the roster the next two years after this, And that's probably why they didn't go after a big fatty that Z.
That's kind of where I'm landing on this because they're stuck with start to.
So the the situation.
The Buffalo restructured Stars contract.
So they were like, Okay, when you re structure Stars contract And essentially, the way stars restructure worked was he would be on the Buffalo Bills this season, and then his contract would be really easy to get out of going into this offseason.
But now that he opted out, that contract pushes back a year.
And if you try to cut Star Lord lately this offseason, it's gonna be a massive cap hit.
Whereas if he would have played this year, it wouldn't have been S o.
My guess is the Buffalo Bill sought is a situation where we're stuck with star next year, We'll try to it will try to get through.
Maybe they thought Harrison Phillips is back healthy, and he just wasn't back healthy.
Or maybe they thought Harrison Phillips was something he's not.
Um, so it's gonna be really interesting, Josh.
Short in the house. Welcome, Josh.
Um, so I mean to me, though, once you get a healthy Milano.
Okay, First of all, tight ends have been low key, sort of eating us up the last couple of weeks.
When Matt Milano is back.
Number two, you get a healthy secondary between a healthy Matt Milano and a healthy secondary.
Maybe you give this defensive line a little bit more time and they can rush four or five guys and maybe get that pressure with four or five guys that they weren't getting before.
And then the quarterback is throwing up LA balls and throwing up, you know, and it's panicking and making throws into, you know, a heavily zone secondary with a bunch of veteran players who know how to turn the who know how to get turnovers.
So to me, despite the fact that really none of the guys on the defensive line were injured Ah, lot of these.
Ah, lot of these guys were coming back in the secondary and at linebacker can help this defensive line by being effective on the back end and allowing these guys sort of pin their ears back and start getting at the quarterback.
Yeah, and people have been in the comments section Talk about Dean Jacks, and right, if you think about Norman getting back healthy Wallace off the covert list.
Uh, Dane Jackson showing some good play and like all of a sudden, you're now talking about four guys that you feel pretty good.
Well, e feel, you know, almost Dane Jackson is the number two honestly in that group.
But eso you talk about that's gonna help.
Uh, I think that the lack of interceptions has obviously been well do***ented this year.
And I think that gets to your point around maybe giving that that line just a extra split second to get home.
Jerry Hughes can kind of make his mark.
Uh, you know, make his mark felt a little bit.
Um, Sergio Chavez, answer your question.
Milano can come back the game after the Chargers game.
Yeah, five doesn't count towards your 33 games, not three weeks, right? Three games.
I mean, if it's me right now, like, honestly, you're paying Norman $6 million.
But from what I've seen from Dane Jackson, I would kind of ride the rookie right now, Reid the hot hand there, CB two and then maybe like mixed Wallace in there as well.
But I'm not I'm kind of I'm kind of, uh, cooled on Norman.
Honestly, from what I saw from him, I know he made that nice play against the Raiders, forced a fumble.
But, man, he just got roasted those other two games.
So, uh, I'm all about playing the young guy.
Norman's probably not gonna be here next year, so I'm I'm fine.
Kind of letting Dean, you know, get his reps and, you know, take some lumps.
But he's shown that he's got the fire to kind of play that position.
He's not afraid to come up and tackle either.
So, like it, All right, I actually had one thing that I missed from the office side of all that. I want to get to you.
And that is Isaiah Hodgins.
So Isaiah Hodgins was elevated from the injured reserve, which means the Buffalo Bills have three weeks to either play him or put him on injured reserve for the rest of the year.
With Dawson knocks underwhelming and tight end with Lee Smith being, uh, Popeye's biscuit away from a left ankle and, you know, with with some of the issues we had tight end Tyler Kroft being on and off, you know, the covert list and really Roger, Gillian has been our only consistent tight end this year.
Um, Isaiah Hodgins, Did you You watch that Miami Denver game pretty intently.
Uh, last year, right there is a player that Isaiah I think Isaiah Hodgins might be able to sort of mimic.
That's Ah, that was playing in that game yesterday, and that was Tim Patrick of the Denver Broncos.
Love that garbage time 60 yarder.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tim Patrick is an underrated receiver right now.
I mean, Jerry, Judy is getting all the getting attention.
KJ handlers getting attention.
No, a fan, but Tim Patrick's kind of like the glue guy for that entire unit.
Honestly, like he just does.
It does a little bit everything.
And I know you love Hodgins.
Um and I think Hodgins might be a little shorter than Tim Patrick, but yeah, he's, like, 63 and two.
Patrick. 65 Yeah.
I mean, go ahead. I know.
I know what you're I think I know what you're gonna say, but it's just a big body over the middle of the field.
Like I remember that Cardinals game.
I said, you know, uh, you know Tyler Cross not playing.
Look for gave Davis.
Look for gave Davis look for Gay Davis and gave Davis.
Never came until John Brown got injured.
Like gave Davis was not on the field, and they weren't using him over the middle.
I've expressed maybe using Duke Williams in that role, and they've been hesitant to use Duke Williams in that role.
You know Isaiah Hodgins? Maybe it's just because they can get him back on the practice field for three weeks.
And then they put him on injured reserve and called a season for him.
Or maybe sorry, he's 64 not 63 apologized.
Richard. So he is closer to Tim. Patrick.
64 it looks like Hodgins is a well, according Thio Wikipedia.
He's 63 so they're about the same height.
I mean, when he's wearing cleats, he's 64 but, uh huh.
At the end of the day, he's a guy who I think could come in and practice.
And if he impresses the presses, the coaching staff, he's a guy down the stretch that we can utilize as a big body over the middle of the football field and in the red zone.
His red zone statistics at Oregon State were in ST Eso.
It's a no brainer to give him those three weeks to prove himself.
And, you know, with the way our tight ends been performing this year, I would love a big body guy like I say Hodgins to come in and maybe start getting some reps.
Yeah, and I think that what you said makes a lot of sense because he's known for his route.
Running Red zone obviously, is a big thing.
And one thing where I feel like, you know, we get this out of Cole Beasley.
But maybe he's a guy that can do a little bit of what Cole Beasley offers you.
Um, you know Hodgins is a guy that can play inside and out.
I would like to see him probably playing a little bit more on the inside if it was me.
Um, you know, especially in the red zone.
I think he could be.
You know, I'd love to see a situation.
Maybe in the red zone where you have, you know, Davis and digs on the outside and then Hodgins in easily on the inside and four wides and kind of like, man, just think about the options that could open up for you there.
Um and you're right with Knox.
And with, you know, I mean, Crofts done all right.
But, you know, Knox is supposed to be kind of that guy.
Uh, you know, maybe Hodgins kinda becomes that guy, and, yeah, I think the Duke Williams train I know people love them, but I think you know I'm not.
I'm not standing for Duke for Duke Williams way got PJ Thai company says, Do we need another speed receiver or are we confident Davis will take over Brown spot in the future? That's where you sort of just like that's where you sort of just bringing a whole bunch of guys and let him compete.
I I think that I think it's pretty well established that if gave Davis keeps developing the way he's developing.
It's gonna be Stefon Diggs is your number one gave Davis is your number two.
And then, you know Cole Beasley is your number three for as long as Colby's a complaint.
John Brown will probably the first one we did out, but you're eventually gonna have to find a slot receiver to replace Cole Beasley.
You're eventually gonna have to find a receiver to replace.
So maybe the guy who replaces gave Davis is the fourth receiver is a speed guy, as opposed to gave Davis, who is more of a size speed guy.
So maybe they just go out and they get a mid round speed guy because it gave Davis or Stefon Diggs ever gets hurt.
They're still gonna want that speed on the boundary, and then Isaiah Mackenzie and Andre Roberts roster spots will be open, so maybe they go out and get another return guy.
Or maybe that Speed guys also a return guy and can double as that guy and, uh you know they go out.
Isaiah Hodgins turns into their wide receiver number five, and he's that size guy.
So it's all about just adding bodies to your receiving corps.
Ah, bunch of different varieties.
Two year receiving corps and letting them come into training camp every year and compete.
But it never hurts to have more than one guy with speed, because if one guy goes down and you only have one or two guys with speed that can really **** up your offense real quick if you can't get the safeties to respect the guys in the boundary.
So yeah, I agree.
We do need to add another speed receiver, but it's not necessarily because in the future, but it's not necessarily because gave Davis will have not taken over John Brown spot.
It's just because it never hurts to have at least three.
Yeah, I mean, even the chiefs e mean, think about they had tirade, Tyree kill.
They didn't stop him from going out and getting Nicole Hardman, who is kind of a a mini tired.
Yeah, Davis, not to speak more of like an outside sort of blend what e.
What was this? Feels like It was like a 45 something around there. It was.
I mean, either way, he was known in college is a guy who played on the boundary, went deep and was really good at stacking defenders down the field.
His 40 time Waas 454 Okay, so he's not a speedster, But he's not slow either.
Eso and you know, he plays pretty fast to you.
So either way, yeah, you want to stretch the field and add speed so it never hurts to add, uh, Speed, uh, to your your receiving corps? Uh, yeah.
Barry, we're not talking about the question was not posed about this season.
It was about in future seasons.
Whether it be, you know, two off seasons from now, when his contract is up on gave Davis is expected to feel that number two.
Any final questions, ladies and gentlemen, because that about does it for our show notes.
I got no more funny videos to play.
Yeah, we'll get Walmart Creed on the way out.
It appears Pierre probably started listening.
Peer heard Creed and left is essentially the assumption that I'm making because he was supposed to be helping us take calls on the phone line tonight, but I haven't seen him in the comment section lately, so I don't think we could take calls tonight, So I do apologize for that.
Pierre was here earlier.
He's not here anymore.
He is the guy who produces that aspect of our show.
I think he heard Creed and lot left one more time.
Listen, guys, before we go, I'm gonna give you I'm gonna give you I'm gonna give you guys everything you've ever wanted.
First of all, let's remember into to recap the top of the show A F C.
East 10 and three.
Yesterday, the Miami Dolphins lost to the Denver Broncos.
Tool was benched at halftime.
The Jets lost on were the first team eliminated from the playoffs and the Patriots lost.
They're not born six.
And with that, it is Josh Allen's time to take us higher.
E o God, what a great way to end the show, man.
Great way to end it.
All right. Yeah.
Let's root against Tom Brady until next time.
Ladies and gents, go Bills, go.
