Nick's family. What's popping is your boy.
Day two of the MBA free agency has come to a close, and we're now moving into Day three.
But we're gonna go ahead and wrap up Day two and talk about what the New York Knicks did in day to some people may be happy.
I think a lot of people are not happy, at least with one move, right.
At least we're one move.
So we're gonna go ahead and get over here and get with these guys.
I got Tony Crow got Joe Maddon in the building, and we're gonna talk about everything that went down today.
The NBA free agency and it will take a look at everything that's happened.
I think about 60 players have been signed since in the free agency has began.
So Toni Jo, what's popping with you guys? Man, how you guys feeling? What's going on? Chat up to the chat Your blackest time? I was not enthused today.
Well, well, that's the well that's just even announced it first, right? So, everybody.
I mean, I guess everybody knows.
But still, the next sign.
Elfrid Payton for one year, $5 million they signed New Orleans New L for one year.
Okay, people are not happy with the Peyton move.
A lot of people, most people, I would say, I'm not happy with Elfrid Payton.
I'm probably one of the one of the, uh on Lee people who was not really upset with the move.
It doesn't bother me as much as I think it bothers other people.
I actually thought that Peyton played well last season.
Besides the fact that he can't shoot the three, he only shoots 20% from three, right? So that greatly hinders his game.
Um, but we're painting on the floor.
The Knicks scored, you know.
They scored eight points better per 100 possessions.
With Peyton on the floor, R.
Barrett actually raised his field goal percentage 5% with Alfa Peyton on the floor.
Uh, Mitchell Robertson and Alfred Peyton together on the floor, help the Knicks to score, I think 114 this is per Jonathan Makary.
8 points per game per possession.
When Elfrid Payton is off the Florida next score like 100 and three points per game per 100 possessions.
There's something to say about you know what he's able to do on the floor.
You average seven assists per game.
Uh, if he could hit and knocked down that three point shot, he'd probably averaged more than 10 points per game.
Right? Maybe he'd average 13 or 14 points per game.
You know, I know everyone's gonna argue and complain and say, Well, you know, him and Randall had this, That and the other thing going on, I get it.
I understand, Right? They came from New Orleans together.
Uh, they had whatever that they were doing together.
This is a different regime.
Ah, different coaching staff, different standards, different system or a system.
If you want to say that, I don't know if the Knicks had an actual system.
You know, Mike Miller came in and settled some things down.
How much of a system it was? Who knows? But with Tom Thibodeau is gonna be a different system, a different level of discipline, different expectations off the players.
I think it looks a little bit different.
Am I saying that Elfrid Payton is your long term starter? Hell, no, not at all.
He's a backup point guard in his league, in my opinion.
But do I take them for one year? $5 million? Yeah, I take it for one year, $5 million.
And still, you may be ableto who knows what's gonna happen.
There's still time and there's still space and the Knicks still have assets to possibly dip in somewhere and make a move for a starting point guard.
Right? Um, I'm just saying I am not tourney bits and pieces because the Knicks resigned Elfrid Payton.
Now I did expect for them to resign.
Taj Gibson now that they've signed New Orleans New Orleans.
Noel, I do not think Taj Well, I don't want to say I do not think he's not coming back and this is it was a good move to sign.
No, there's no well, you needed a backup center.
A bona fide backup center behind Mitch.
Um, he's a you know, he could block shots.
It's not gonna score you a bunch of points.
He could grab you some rebounds. He's long.
He could play defense, you know, I think that was a good game.
What you guys thought Process Where you guys at, man I wasn't enthused about the Peyton move.
I understand it.
The they run out of options.
It was a cheap deal.
Maybe the thought is okay.
Let the guys fight like that frying ts champagne and fight out for the job.
And then maybe they could move them, get maybe sac around pick or something in a package with him down the line before the deadline.
Um, there was better options out there.
I was thinking Jeff, he was an option.
Um, I know. D J Augustine.
He got hey, went into the box, he went to contender.
But see, here's here's my thing about I don't know what Jefty.
God, I know he signed a one year deal with Boston.
I don't know how much it is, but when I look at D J.
Augustine, I don't want to pay him three years.
So, I mean, is that what we would rather do? What we'd rather pay? D.
Augustine Three years, 27 million.
Jeff Teague has a chance to be to play a backup point guard spot with a contender.
Is he really going to choose the Knicks over the Boston Celtics? no right, and they might be willing to pay him mawr than $5 million.
It looks right now.
Looks like right now, the Knicks said, We're going to get these guys $5 million for one year.
That's what we're looking to do right now.
Everyone that they've signed.
Alex Alex, Berks.
One year, five million Alfa paid one year, five million? No, there's no well, one year, five million if that's what they were looking to dole out, who were really thinking about getting Yeah, My thing is, do they have a package because you're looking at 21 million? Is you said to about close to 30 million and then Randall, they're going to try and move.
So are they looking a pockets when we d and share Randall on picks to get somebody is like they have the money free trade and the and then to Bogdanovich just sit in there to me.
I Bogdanovich is the player where I could see him playing minutes at the point guard.
The guy is the playmaking, Really.
He can shoot. He's smart.
What? I mean, I don't I don't know.
Yeah, and that's the thing.
There's still there's still time for them to make some moves.
Who knows what their what their plans are right now.
But it was clear to me that this at, you know, and that's what actually getting someone serious.
We're not going.
We're not entering into any long term contracts now.
That's a great deal for Rondo to me.
Two years, 15 million $7.
5 million a year.
I would have loved to have had Rondo.
We talked about this before.
You couldn't have both of them.
It's not like you could have Rondo as you're starting on L for Peyton as your backup.
That's basically the same player, right? That would rather have a problem with us.
Going with Alford like it wasn't necessarily Elford and the deal, because the deal is kind of a still for $5 million like, I ain't even, uh But I wanted Rondo like I wouldn't have been mad at paying Rondo 15 for one year, and I know he was accepted, you know? So that was my only beef like that for like, he could have really changed the He could've helped every individual on the team develop E.
Yeah, I feel like he could have to.
I feel like he could have I feel like he would have been really good with this with this squad here.
A z a leader out there.
Um, he's going to do that same type of thing in Atlanta.
My thinking is that the Knicks what you say? Maybe he didn't want to start.
Maybe maybe see the difference with Atlanta.
I've seen some people talk about, you know, the land Atlanta and the Knicks.
The difference with Atlanta because they haven't all star guard.
They haven't all star already, right? So they're ready, Thio.
They're ready to go to another level.
They have someone that they you know.
Ah, bona fide player to build around.
We know we believe r.
J is gonna be a bona fide player, and I just do.
But, you know, he's not that Trey Young level yet.
That type of a bona fide player.
Um, you know, we're still we're still figuring out what RJ is gonna be.
Listen, I'm not saying he's not gonna be good.
I'm just saying we're still figuring it out, you know? I mean, and maybe Rondo wanted to have a least two years and the Knicks didn't wanna go two years.
I don't You know, it's hard to say, and I'm interested to see what that Jeff Teague, um, contract turns out to be really interested to see what that turns out to be.
Um, listen, D j.
I didn't think either one of those guys move the needle anyway.
Um, you know, they, you know, they would have been good.
There would have been okay, but I don't think they really move the needle.
I don't think that the Knicks would be that much better with Jeff Teague or D J.
Augustine, then with Elfrid Payton.
Honestly, you know, so I could make the argument for D.
J just because of his shooting and his pick and roll.
Um, but other than that, e.
I mean, I I agree.
It wouldn't have been much, much better, because I don't know she will play, make up a and right, and so, you know, we'll see if the if the Knicks have anything in anything else in store.
According to Tommy Beer, it appears the Knicks may have signed Elfrid Payton using their room exception, which means New York still has upwards of $30 million in cap space, more than twice as much as any other team in the NBA.
Right then, he says.
Goes on to say, it will be interesting to see if they make a run at restricted free agent Bogdan Uh, Bogdanovich.
Now, other reports say that the Knicks have $21 million left to spend in free agency.
Here's the thing.
We were talking about this before we before we went live.
It is possible, because if you go on the Knicks PR page, they haven't announced any of these moves.
Any of them, they haven't announced.
Alec Alec Berks.
Welcome, Peyton Nerlens Noel, right? This has just been reported.
It's not official until the Knicks announce it, which means if they have other moves in play, they consign these.
They can make whatever trades, do whatever they got to do and then, like Tommy, be just said, sign Elfrid Payton into that room.
So until they actually put this on paper, the Knicks still have cap.
They still have all their cap space because this hasn't been put on paper.
They have an agreement with these players in which context they used, they decide to sign them is another thing, right? So as it is right now, they still have the cap space because they haven't put anything on paper.
Besides, maybe an offer sheet.
But then they got to decide, Where do I use the money? Is it going to be a mid level exception? Is it gonna be a room exception? Things like that.
You see what I'm saying? So they could still make some kind of a move if it's via trade or if they said, hey, we're gonna throw some money at Brandon Ingram, who knows, right? They could still do that and then decide where they're going to sign these players.
And you know where they're gonna categorized their money.
You know, there could still be some things out there, I don't know, but I'm just, you know, just just just speculating at this point you got you got me wondering because normally there's a There's a time gap for which mhm, the team that has the restricted free agent can match the contract, right? So if strategically, if a player weights to San project where the other team may not have time to decide.
They gotta make the decision immediately.
I mean, at E guess that wouldn't benefit us if we did that.
Because we will be holding that money and waiting when we could have used it for something else, right? And and and just, you know, to clarify and back up myself.
Um, no teams can actually put it on paper until I think Monday anyway, right, e think it's Monday.
That's when they can put it on paper.
So we'll see if these things start to come.
If it comes right out.
Boom, boom, boom. They put it on paper.
If we If if these deals come right out Bam, bam, bam! Do you know Boom, that's a done deal.
They got probably $21 million left to spend.
If it takes a little while, then maybe it means that they're working on something else, and then they're gonna figure out where do I place these guys, uh, within our exceptions and those type of things, You know? I mean, so you know, we'll see.
I guess we'll still see what happens.
I think a lot of Knicks fans including myself.
You know, thought that maybe Leon Rose and those guys could pull some magic out the hat.
Instead, they went to Walmart, and they was shopping in the $5 DVD.
Ben, you know what I'm saying? You know, um, but we'll see if maybe there's still something there.
What? We'll see what they're thinking about.
I'm glad they did not make it anything you want.
Any moves you want them to make.
I still want a legitimate starting point guard.
I don't know where you get it, hoping that they try to make a move for Lonzo ball.
Somehow, some way, you know, talk to New Orleans to the pelicans about Lonzo Ball.
How much is Lonzo Ball and Elfrid Payton? How redundant are they? There could be kind of redundant.
Except Lonzo Ball can shoot the three better than Peyton.
Neither one of them can hit a free throw Mhm on day.
Also, New Orleans also said that are keeping lead.
So the I I kind of figured that because Van Gundy that Bledsoe's Van Gundy's type of point guard right, so that means and then with them dropped in Kira Lewis that means if 33 point guards and somebody I don't know, somebody's gotta go write.
Something has to happen.
Somebody's gotta go.
You would think s o. I guess.
You know, we'll see.
Maybe somebody you know, Maybe they're having some conversations or something like that.
I don't know, right? And maybe Leon Rose in the front office is happy with spending the minimum amount of money.
And they're just saying I'm not gonna throw money at somebody just to throw money at him.
You know, if I still have $21 million left over or $15 million left over or something like that, To hell with it.
So what? That's just what I got.
And we'll figure out the rest later.
You know, I think it is smart that they're only doing one year deals, right? You know, what's the sense of going two or three years? Not that we're gonna get anything in 2021.
You know, it's not about the free agency is about having the flexibility to still absorb contracts if you need to and do those type of things.
Right? So you know these three guys, their contracts expire at the end of this season.
Next all season, they have the ability again to absorb contracts.
Right? So maybe they didn't, you know, open up the floodgates and free agency, uh, this season, but they maintain their flexibility looking and saying I'm not gonna throw four years, five years.
Whatever. It was for Gordon Hayward.
I'm not going to do that.
I was so shocked that he got that.
I'm like, what? Yeah.
Jordan must have been drinking last night.
Just woke up and said, you know, let me throw the money at this guy that zoos crazy.
I mean, some of the contracts that that I've seen, man I mean, I would have been happy throwing three years.
27 million two D. J. Augustine.
I would have been happy with that.
I look, I look online and they're like usually they're cropping on the Knicks for putting out big contracts, and now they're cropping on the Knicks for not doing anything.
You know, that's how I was gonna be like eso.
Well, I may not be like, you know, my eyes wide open, and he laid it over what we've done so far.
I can say, Okay, I'm cool.
That at least they didn't just blow their money and waste their money, you know? I mean, um, let me tell you what.
Over the last two months of the season, from the beginning of February to the end of March, the Knicks were 500.
They played 500 basketball upper.
Peyton was the starting point guard, and he was playing well, you know, can he continue that? Who knows? He's injury prone, you know? So of course that's gonna come into play, but, um, you know, I'm just not as upset as other people.
You know, I wasn't jumping up and down like, yeah, we got our man.
It was just to me, like, Okay, All right.
That's what we you know, we running it back this year, you know, with him.
I think the bigger question, though for the Knicks is what happens with this whole Julius Randle and obey.
What happens there? Now, see if one of those guys was 6, 10, 6, 11, they could play on the floor together, but they're both 6869 C o b topping.
Shoot from the outside, right, Randall is more of an inside player.
The issue is the defense, right? You know how many how many teams you have, those two guys on the floor together? You know how many teams is going to run up the points in the paint? You know, you know, that's the issue with those two guys Offensively, It could work all day because Obie Topping can shoot the ball from the outside, you know? And he shoots it well from the corner.
But defensively, it's not gonna work right now, which, which is one of the reasons why it is really good that you have New Orleans.
Well, because you have to legitimate Sanders and you have to legitimate power forwards.
The Onley argument that's gonna be is who's gonna be the starter if Julius Randle was still here? That's what the argument is gonna be, because people are gonna say if Julius Randle starts, everyone's gonna be upset that Julius Randle was starting and obey Top is coming off the bench.
If all be topping starts, then of course, immediately, immediately it's gonna be out there that Julius Randle is disgruntled.
You know what I'm saying? And he could very well.
He may not be disgruntled.
Honestly, in my opinion, I do not see Tom Thibodeau starting Obi Topping or just automatically given the starting spot.
Toby topping to me.
It's gonna be like You guys gonna get the training camp.
If he earned it, he earns it.
If he doesn't, then he doesn't.
How will Randall take that? You know, all the top.
If Obi Topping earns it, how will Randall ticket? Who knows? You never know how it is gonna be, you know? Yeah.
If a guy comes in and he's just better than you, right? Like, Oh, I'm better than him.
I don't know which I saw and we played the same game, you know? You know.
So So, like, you know, if a guy comes in and he's better than you Yeah, it's not much you can do about it, you know? I mean, there's not much you can do about it.
So the thing is, but looking at it, you will have and both lineups.
Okay? You would have a strong power forward and a strong center.
A strong defensive center in both lineups, right? If if they If they moved forward in that in that direction, you probably wouldn't see Randall and topping on the floor together much.
It would be Randall with Mitch Randall, New Orleans Noel O being Mitch O B in New Orleans.
Noel, something like that.
You know, because you know you got you got at Davis, he might get waved, right? You got Kevin Knox, who can play, who can play the four.
So if you do move Julius Randle, you can obviously slide Obi Topping Ifa's Long's.
He earns it, slide him into that starting spot and then let Kevin Knox play the backup for right.
So So you will have you know, you still have options if you choose.
If they choose to move Randall, Um, we'll see where it goes from here and how it happens.
Nobody knows what's happening with it.
See, my thing with Randall is he was it's gonna be hard from him to go from the number one option to the bench.
Yeah, it's not like he's going from third or fourth or like you're going from being the number one option and in his mind set is like, Oh, this is my team and then being told, Okay, you're gonna be on the bench.
I e thought about being told.
It's about show like that show improved, like you can't forgot.
You can't deny that he outplayed you.
E u thing to do is try to earn your spot.
That e I mean, I do agree, though, that random, you know, you know, to go a I mean, I agree.
He would probably look at him like, Yo, I'm not feeling this, You know, I'm not feeling this at all.
And you know, if that happened, you know, and he was really causing the problem, Then you gotta do him like D'Antoni did the Marbury right, Dan, Tony, banish.
Marbury sent them home.
Said don't even come to practice.
You know, I don't know if it gets that far with him.
I think that there's enough.
You know, you got Kenny pain there, right? Who could be that little birdie on Randall's shoulder? If something like that were to go down, you're spot.
Yeah, you're spot back.
You got Mike Woodson there.
You got some leadership.
You know, with the coaching staff.
I think you got some strong leadership there? Um I don't know, man.
We'll see what's gonna go down with it.
I'm just I'm just glad that the Knicks didn't sell out.
Awesome. Crazy wild contracts.
Do something crazy, right? You know, listen, it's another year that they punted in free agency, but if there was gonna be a year that you put in free agency, this is the year that you put in free agency, right? If you're gonna time, this is the year.
Because you're looking at that next draft your two picks in that next draft, then just killed you, Might I think the way they might even do it is just build it brick by Brick.
Yeah, I said that it is swinging for offenses because the way it looks, even they I think they probably talked about his late and they talked to Hayward.
Nobody's coming here until they show stability and they show to start winning.
True to try to get you now.
I think with vanvleet they would have given him.
I think they probably would have given him the contract that he got with Toronto.
I think they would have vanvleet was going back to Toronto going Hey, World, I don't think the Knicks would have given him that contract.
E think that would have been crazy to give him that contract.
You know, I don't know what Michael Jordan and new guys air thinking.
Um, well, they make the playoffs.
Maybe they make the playoffs.
Maybe they make a seven seed or something like that.
But I don't see where that's going, to be honest with you. Mhm.
I'm surprised he with i e.
I think when they got the mellowed or like All right, let's go for it is the God Grant.
They got Melo, the Terry Rozier for now.
And that's a guy.
I think if we're gonna move Randall, I do a sweat straight up swap for Terry Rozier.
And Randall started, you know, was putting up.
Was it 18 and six and he was shooting over 40 Onda, another stopgap point guard.
If you drop the point guard next year, you could trade Terry Rozier.
Well, you gotta throw Dennis Smith in there because we got what, 44 point guards right now.
We got Alfred way.
Got a bunch of them. We got Alfred.
Peyton we got Dennis Smith, Jr.
We got Frank Miller.
Kina, You know Emanuel quickly and maybe even way.
And we got Jared Harper.
Well, quickly is more of a two guard.
It is just an undersized to guard that can play the point at at times.
But he'll probably be a two guard.
I would see him.
I could see him fighting for that, starting to position.
And are you going to the three? Oh, I can say I can see him for the first, maybe first month or so.
Coming off the bench and putting up good numbers and showing showing that he could start Is the kid kid light outshoot or do that trade? If they include platoon in a first round pick, They they were in the tune.
Oh, yeah, yeah, their way.
But to you, they need Yeah, they needed him for They need to get rid of him for the money to work with Edward.
Yeah, so? So I guess you know, we'll see.
We'll see what the plans are.
You know, saying what? What? The plans are moving forward.
I feel like the next move to see they stretched his contract.
Yeah, they're just waiting for them.
It nine million for three years instead of the 27th.
I think, Well, I think was a 8,000,008 or nine million for three years instead of 27.
So they don't use the rest about money.
Then they gave it ahead word, and I think they're going to try.
And I I think that the randomly is possible because another interesting around the deadline on I think they have, like they have at the back court.
They already have, Like, you think they have Lemelle.
Oh, they've Graham the rosy here they have Monk.
So they're kind of loaded up with the backcourt, so I think they might look to move one of them a kid to be a good trade for Terry Rose year, you stop.
God, you have them for a year.
You take one your office contract, and then next year, if you want, you could trade them only one year left.
So I guess Listen, I guess we'll see.
I tend to think that, you know, if there's not gonna be the Knicks are gonna get someone, it's gonna be through trade, right? You know they're gonna get a player is gonna be through trade.
They're gonna get somebody significant, is gonna be through trade.
There's nobody in the free agent market right now.
Anyway, Bogdanovich, right, He's a restricted free agent.
Bogdanovich is in the market.
So if you're really gonna get him, you're probably gonna over pay for him, you know, so that Sacramento doesn't match.
Um, yeah, you know, So if you're gonna bring somebody in significant is probably gonna be through trade.
Um, you I guess.
You know, depending.
Like I said, you know, you could decide because you don't sign contracts.
Don't actually put it on paper until next week.
Um, you can you can probably You might still be able to throw some money at Brandon Ingram, right? We haven't heard any news about Brandon Ingram or Anthony Davis yet.
I believe that both of them were going to resign where they are.
Brandon Ingram in New Orleans and Anthony Davis in L. A. For sure.
You know, you look at the way the L A.
Souped up, you know, they put some pieces, they put some pieces in there.
I'm telling you to be rich.
Paul is with that.
Rich Paul is working for the Lakers, and I see the Lakers air loading up so LeBron can go on vacation for two months.
You know what I'm saying? Exactly? You know what I'm saying, right? Everybody's taking cheap deals to go to the lake crisps.
Montrezl Harrell turned down 16 million to go toe of an exception to go to the Lakers for a year.
Yeah, so you know, um, look, I doubt I don't You know, maybe they do try to throw something at Brandon Ingram, but for the most part, I think the Knicks we're probably gonna do another small move to fill that 15th roster spot somewhere.
Some way they do a small move and then they'll be done, and then we'll see if they start Thio juggle things around at the trade deadline, right? Because all those contracts that they signed, all these $5 million contracts will be expiring.
Right? So they'd be able to move some things around Julius Randle at the end of this season.
There's a team option for the following season, right? So he'll be a trade chip at the deadline as well.
When is the deadline to this because usually the deadlines around, like like, the second week in December.
So did they announce when it's gonna be, well, the trade? Well, the trade deadline is normally in February, right? Yeah.
So I forgot when the deadline is for them to be able to start trading players sometime in 2021 where they can actually start to trade players, um, players that they signed, right? But the deadline? I'm not exactly sure when the deadline is.
I'd have to look at the list of dates for the N B. A.
Um, Let's see if I could look up important en BA dates for 24,021.
Let's see if I got some key dates for you. Let's see.
Let's see what's here. Okay, Okay.
We've already November 18th was the draft November 20th.
Free agent negotiations begin at 6 p.m.
November the 22nd today.
Pm, players can actually sign the contracts.
Right? So it's not Tomorrow is today.
So we will find out if, uh, you know, if the Knicks, if these contracts just boom, boom, boom, the Knicks assigned them, then you know there's probably not, you know, then they'll probably just signed somebody into that $21 million they have left because I think you've got to use your money before you use the exceptions.
Yeah, they have to use.
They have to spend the ink.
Is it 90% of it? And then they could start using the exceptions.
No, I didn't to spend all of it for the exceptions, but in general, like, I think there's a penalty or something if they don't spend all the money.
So it's said it's 21 men, and I think they probably to spend, like, 15 million of it, right? Yeah, there's a floor.
So there's a floor, right.
There's a floor that you have to spend.
You have to spend so much money.
Um, so they're probably reached that floor and it once they reached that floor, maybe they'll be done.
I mean, they probably will be done.
We'll see if they waved at Davis store.
If they waved at Davis, that means they open up another roster spot.
All right, Uh, which is his cop at Davis? Contract is five million.
So how much did the cop it being? There's a cop it to be the full five.
Yeah, if they so, if they waved him, they still got to pay that money.
So it still hits the cap.
It's not like it frees up money in the cap.
It's still hits the cap, but But they'll have a roster spot where they can, you know, sign another player or move somebody into that roster spot.
E even use them in a trade, right? They could use him in a trade.
They could use him in a trade.
Um, you know, they could do you know something? They could do something like that if they want to open up a roster spot.
March 5th to the 10th.
I'm sorry. December the 22nd.
It's opening night.
Right? Um, March 5th to the 10th is the All Star break.
March 11th begins the second half of the season so they don't have the dates up here.
And when you can start the trade players or when the trade deadline begin ends, you know, so we'll see.
We'll see what happens and how that goes down.
Um, just a couple of updates of things have gone on in the MBA today, right? We're gonna bring over woes and shames and kinda, you know, go through things that have happened today.
I'm just gonna run down and we'll talk about it.
Um, you know, today wasn't as busy as yesterday.
Yesterday was, You know, while there wasn't, like, major major players being moved, it was still kind of the wild, Wild West.
I'm surprised there wasn't a lot a lot of bad contracts starting to be moved.
You know, the Knicks said they wanted to take on bad salary, but there hasn't been really any big contracts move.
Because that's what I think they could do with, um, the rest of that cop.
Try and get more picks.
Maybe for next year.
They could they could, but, you know, they got a They got a free up.
They got a free up some, um, across the across the spot.
11 spot left, right.
But they could always put Gigi back in the G league too, so that could open up another spot.
What do you do? Well, so they would have to convert.
I don't think that they can convert his contract from a wave them and then sign them toe right.
They have to wave me, then signed to a two way right because he's on a regular contract like he's on the team.
You know, um, he's another shooter.
If you were saying about not getting enough of shooters, I think he should be getting some minutes at the three.
You look good in Westchester.
Yeah, you know, we'll see if he gets a chance.
Hopefully, he gets a chance.
We'll see what he looks like in training camp.
We haven't heard much about Iggy.
No, he's shooting well and he was shooting over 40% in Westchester.
But the thing with Iggy is defensively.
He's too small for defend fours, and he's too slow to the event.
Defense theories, but offensive offensive.
These good, right? Um, let me see what's going on.
Ibaka signing a two year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers E Serge Ibaka is leaving Toronto.
That's according to Shams, but we'll start with agent Ward Yanovski.
Hey says at this hour, Toronto is still working to convince Marc Gasol to return on a new deal.
We'll see how that goals and let's see, who else do we have here? Jevon Carter has agreed to Ah! Three year, $11.
5 million deal with the Phoenix Suns at the Phoenix Suns.
They're trying to put together some players to We know about New Orleans.
Noel in the New York Knicks.
Um, Brad Wanamaker.
He's agreed to a one year, two point, uh to $5 million deal with the Golden State Warriors.
Denver has pulled the qualifying offer from there.
Forward Torrey Greg Craig, which allows him to become an unrestricted free agents.
We know about Peyton in the Knicks.
We're not gonna talk about it anymore because I don't want to get people mad, Right? Raison Raison Rondo.
Hey, signed a two year, $15 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks.
Jalen Adams has agreed to a two way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks on Let's see, who else do we got here, Pat? Pat Connaughton.
He's returning to the Bucks on a longer than originally anticipated deal.
It's gonna be three years.
He's agreed to a two year, $4.
1 million deal to stay in Orlando.
The Hornets wave Nick Batum to create cap space so that they consign Gordon Hayward.
Right? Um, you know, so Boston and Charlotte they're working towards ah, signing trade, I guess.
With Gordon Hayward.
And we were talking about this the last show.
I think you know.
Why is it that Boston over the last a few years, they lost Al Horford.
He went to Atlanta.
Obviously, Kyrie went to Brooklyn.
And now Gordon Hayward is gone, right? Not that No, not that they really need going here.
Would I think, you know, they're still gonna be Eastern Conference contender without him.
Yeah, but what's going on over there? That free agents don't want to stay or why, You know, maybe they feel it's too much talent and they wanna go to some place where it's not as much talent.
Augustine has agreed to a three year, $21 million deal to Milwaukee.
I said 27 before the $21 million deal.
Um, let's see, who else do we have here? Chris done.
He agreed to a two year, $10 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
Yeah, let me see Mo Harkless.
He agreed to a one year $3.
6 million deal with the Miami Heat.
Uh, he's going from the bottom to the top.
That's about it.
No, that's about right, Aziz, part of a 14 trade Steven Adams.
I think this is.
Maybe we'll be left off last night.
Stephen Adams, um, is being traded.
The thunder will receive George Hill.
There is Miles, a 2023 Denver protected first round pick in the second round picks in 2023 through Charlotte in 2024 through Washington.
All right, so now they've whittled down that point guard pool to just three.
Pray guards now, right? So now it's Eric Bledsoe, Lonzo Ball and Carol Lewis.
They may not move.
They may not move one of those guys then, because Carol loses rookie.
Yeah, they might say, Hey, you gotta sit the bench this first year and you know he's an attacking guard.
You could still have Lonzo ball and Carol Lewis on the floor at the same time.
Yeah, you know eso.
You know, you may not be getting a point guard out of New Orleans pelicans.
What sort of package would they be looking? Because if you could give them, like maybe a couple, like a couple of them seconds we took first.
Because he's an unrestricted free agent next year, right? Who? Lonzo ball s.
So they've got to give him a $14 million qualifying offer.
If they give him a $14 million qualifying offer, then, um, it's up to him to accept or turned down the offer.
If he accepts the offer, that mean that means he'll play that year for 14 million, and then the following season, he'll be a an unrestricted free agent.
Right? Um, if he denies the offer, then he'll be a restricted free agent next summer.
But then, you know, it looks like, you know, I don't know.
He would probably I would think that he might accept the offer so that then he could be a free agent the year after, because I don't think he's gonna be worth more than $14 million on the market.
Well, it depends on the year he has a long fall there, right? But But he might be He might look to say, you know, if he likes it in New Orleans, then he might just be like, All right, you know, I'm cool.
We could stay here, But if he's not really crazy about it in New Orleans, then he might say, You know what? I'll take the qualifying offer this way.
I could be an unrestricted free agent and I could go wherever I want the following season.
Um, now, if he turns down the offer, he might be turning it down to try to negotiate with them for a longer deal.
Who knows? Continuous.
He's going back to the Los Angeles Lakers, Um, two seasons to the next with him.
I think it was called. The Knicks were talking to him.
E think that was just He was talking the next for leverage, I think.
Right, So insidious.
His contract is, uh, he's agreed to a three year, $40 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
And then Sam said the third year for KCP and the Lakers contains a partial guarantee.
The deal gives him a $15 million average salary over the next two seasons and 68 million guaranteed over five seasons.
Wow, So you know that I've seen some people like Oh we missed out on K C. P.
Uh, the Knicks weren't giving them that contract.
Knicks wasn't giving him that contract.
I'm a former, That boy.
That boy his people paid.
You know what was born getting paid? Um, three.
Agent Western wound.
Do is close to a deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
See what else? Anything else that was out there, the Golden State Warriors.
They applied for the disabled player exception worth 9.3 million.
Uh, due to the season ending loss of Clay Thompson, Carmelo Anthony resigns in Portland.
Not exactly what I Melo was going to come here.
You know, with with all of the people in his position that they picked up, I thought maybe he was out the door, but, uh, no, he's going back to Portland.
I'm actually glad.
Form e thought it was a good fit for him.
He was comfortable there.
Let's see what they could do.
You know, they souped up on some players.
Uh, they try to add some depth, see what they do.
The West is going to be crazy with Portland's two songs.
Memphis, it's gonna be crazy. Interesting.
The rockets they've claimed Kenny forward Kenny forward Kenny Wooton off waivers, so he'll be on the Rockets G League team next season.
We should just traded him for Westbrook.
Uh, After receiving interest from over half of the league, Millsap returned to continue his career with the Denver Nuggets.
He's agreed to a one year, $10 million plus deal.
Um, for Paul Millsap.
He's agreed to a deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
He signed a three year, $30 million deal with the sons.
Sources say the N B A and the N B p A.
Have agreed that the players who elect not to play in the 24,021 season must notify off this election by December.
The first players who elect not to play will be prohibited from signing a contract for the 24,021 season.
So we'll see it.
We'll see if we have any players that choose choose not to play.
I'm going out for a what you say.
Hopefully, yeah, for Peyton decides not to come back.
E I don't think so.
I think that man is coming back.
They said, would you? If they if the Republicans wanted Frank instead of D. S J.
Would you do it around a man? E guess, I guess.
But that's tough, man, that that's tough for me because Frank is my favorite player on the team.
You know, that's tough for me, but you might have to You might have e out, I think.
Frank, I'll go under.
I was thinking that they wouldn't want They were what, Frank instead of the estate.
More so because of P. S J.
And let's all have the same strength, right? You know, right, right.
According to Shams, Avery Bradley has agreed to a two year, $11.
6 million deal with the Miami Heat.
And of course, we know about Fred VanVleet going into a four year, $85 million deal to remain with the Toronto Raptors, guard free agent guard Raul Neto has agreed to a one year deal with the Washington Wizards.
Bobby Portis is joining the Milwaukee Bucks on a two year deal.
I don't know how they gave him a deal after last season with us.
I'm gonna tell you.
I'm gonna tell you, you know, gonna be a good fit.
Their thing? Yeah.
The thing that I think a lot of people don't realize is that these players Bobby Porters.
What was the averaging? 15 points.
78 rebounds before he came to the Knicks shooting close to 40% from three.
Wayne Ellington was shooting 37% from three, I think maybe averaging 10 points a game.
Reggie Bullock was shooting 37% from three.
He only shot about 35% from three last season.
Obviously, he came back off injury.
A lot of people complain about the Knicks not having shooting, and they didn't.
But they signed guys who could shoot.
They signed guys who had high percentages, but the three point line, right? But when they got to the Knicks and the lack of, uh, offensive continuity and a true player, that could draw attention so that you can kick it out to these guys for wide open shots help to lower their shooting percentage.
And I think other teams recognize that, you know? And when you see these guys get into, like Bobby Portis, go to Milwaukee, I think he's gonna do well there.
And then people are gonna look and say, Well, how come he didn't do that with the Knicks? Watch e guarantee it.
But it's part of it is due to the Knicks.
Yeah, uh, that that, you know, that makes it tough, but I think he's going to do well.
I don't I didn't see exactly what the deal Waas for.
It doesn't say what the deal was for, um, but I think he's gonna do well playing in Milwaukee.
I'm glad the Anthony melting the 46th pick in the 2018 NBA draft, now has the highest net salary from his class for 2021 2 for the 24,021 season at $9.
Hey signed a four year, $35 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Michael Carter Williams.
He agreed to return to the Orlando Magic.
Got Denzel Valentine, uh, signed a one year, $4.
7 million deal with the Chicago Bulls.
And after losing Geremi Grant to Detroit, the Nuggets are acquiring a starting caliber forward into Michael Green.
I said to Michael Green has agreed to a two year, $15 million deal with the Denver Nuggets.
So I don't know, Tony, man, um I don't know what we're gonna do, where we're gonna be.
You know, I guess we'll pay attention to see what happens tomorrow, right? See if see if the Knicks, you know, if we start to see the workings up, things happen for the New York Knicks.
Uh, they've been quiet, and then they come out the blue and make some, you know, made a couple of just as signings, you know, just, uh okay.
Um, we still don't know.
There's not a bona fide.
I mean, we just need a point guard.
We just need a bone of five point guard.
You know, right now it looks like you know what would be going into the season with the five point guards we named earlier.
Elfrid Payton, Frank Millikin and Dennis Smith, Jr.
We'd be going into the season with those guys.
Jared Harper, of course, is on a two way contract, so he probably play, You know, he might play, you know, a lot of his time in the G League.
Um, of course, frightening Latina could go between three different positions.
Dennis Smith Jr could go between two different positions.
The thing you have to look at between Dennis Smith Jr because Frank, like I said, like we said, he could go between three different positions.
Dennis Smith Jr.
And quickly, they just drafted quickly.
So I you know, they're gonna their allegiances.
They're gonna be too quickly, you know, Um, mhm.
Things going to get a lot of minutes.
Yeah, I just say just you see about, like, his work ethic, and then just the guy could just shoot out like a genie.
Honestly, you think quickies with the league? Do you think so? Yeah.
Yeah, because he he's gonna be under contract.
Where? Dennis Smith.
Well, you gotta see what you're going to get from him, at least with tips.
And possibly try to let other teams see what they're gonna get from it.
E I mean, if he's not, if he's sitting on a bench, he's just appreciating.
I mean what you know.
This looks a lot like what we did last season, right? Very similar.
And I said this yesterday when we signed Alec Burkes, you know that he looked like he was a Wayne Ellington type of signing.
Um, this looks a lot like what we did last year.
Um, I think this group is Maybe Mawr is gonna be a better defensive group.
I think we got better defensively.
You know, I guess he's okay.
But Alfred Peyton, you know, he plays defense.
New Orleans, Noel.
He definitely plays defense because there was clearly a lack off, uh, protection when Mitch was out the game.
Now you have a guy like New Orleans Nerlens Noel who can protect that rim? One of those two guys gonna be on the floor? Yeah.
I mean, so that's gonna help a lot.
You You know, we have some guys.
I think quickly he's a good defensive guard.
Good defensive guard Elfrid Payton is a good defensive guard, you know, um, so we should be able to have some defense on that front line, you know, on the first line of defense, that point guard spot.
Hopefully we can guard other teams point guards.
We should be able to have defense there.
We should be able to have defense on our back line.
Now, can our wings and power forwards get some stops in place of defense? The main.
It's really just knocks Randall Opie, right.
Those three, those might be only, like, question marks or liabilities, right? Well, targets for the, you know, opposing teams often.
Yeah, because you are.
Jay plays defense.
Defender Reggie Bullock is a good defender, right? Um, so yeah, those three, all that one spot.
That power forward spot you, Richard, uh, like, save us like every you know what I'm saying? All that.
That power forward spot, our worst defenders all at that one spot? Yeah, you know that That that Z Yeah, that's tough.
Also is thinking what? Since it way set up the money I'm thinking Is that Westbrook deal? Still going to be in may be in play.
Who knows what Who knows what the money What, like pick Ron, which is probably due T j.
Hold on, hold on, you guys.
I didn't I didn't hear what you say, Joe.
I was saying like I think that might be still in play.
because you still have, like Randall and D s J.
And then you did acquire extra picks right on your Like, you have 11 picks over the next three years, like a lot of the second round or so That's how I feel.
Like maybe they're up to something.
They've been too quiet, right? Uh, they still have got money.
For what? They have one roster spot.
Andi is used to be close to $30 million.
And then Randall and DS Jayne that that brings upto Westbrook's contract bringing over $40 million Right? Right.
I mean, that's gonna be $26 million right there.
You know that we are 20 or whatever you have, right? That means that, you know, you're still only taken up 14 million.
You only gotta use 14 million of your cat, you know? Yeah.
So So what would you get ready to say, Tony, you're going to say something? Honestly, I think with them signing Payton, they they're not.
They stay in past the point guard position a t least to next year s.
So I think, um, if they do anything is going to be for some type of wing, um, shooter and defender, like three and D E.
Right out there.
But it could be it could be.
Listen, I'm gonna tell you what.
I'm gonna tell you what, and I don't want to say it, but I just somewhere so I just have a little bone in me that keeps poking me.
Listen, nor there's no well from the University of Kentucky.
If you're talking about right, I look at it already.
No, I was thinking that so breaking Julius Randle from Kentucky.
Kevin Knox is from Kentucky.
He's from Kentucky, and I can guarantee you right now the Knicks made that call.
They'd be like, Let's let's do it.
Let's get something done.
Um, if if they gave us two first round picks, I do it to first in a second.
Yeah, way would have to give it a random to a Kentucky for Kentucky guy.
Yeah, that's true.
It would be a Kentucky for Kentucky guy.
That's right. That's right. Yeah.
Anything about that I forgot about that. Yep.
Because he would have to get about John Wall. I don't know.
He with this stuff with the gang sign videos and his old like he's had drinking problems.
And then he stole money.
Basically off Washington the last two years because he hasn't played a minute under his contract.
Like, I don't know.
I'm like, I don't know about him.
Hey, full in his house on purpose.
So he didn't have to do nothing.
I'm like, um, big shout out to payback card.
He said, I guess we're back on the one years deals and I'm in for it.
Yeah, we're back on him.
We're back on them one year deals.
Justin, her dad for the check.
He said, thank you.
We did not get Hayward at that price.
And then Monte things just said way.
Have a good roster.
Still have no shooters.
Well, Alec Burke, he shot 40% from the field, right? Alec Brooks. He shot 40%.
Um, Reggie Bullock.
Reggie Bullet could shoot.
Oh, Beacon, Shoot.
We'll see if he could shoot in the MBA, but we're projected that he could shoot in the MBA.
How quickly could you? RJ looks better at the shooting, so he's had nine months, so he should be better, right? Technically, not all of them should be better.
They've had nine months, so knocks not shooting.
Should be better.
Yeah, not not Shooting should be better.
So, you know, way might have some better shooting this year.
I think a lot gonna come. Thio.
We'll see if you will see if he shoots one in the game.
Don't shoot it in warmups.
Shoot it in the game.
You know what I'm saying? Um, eso you know, we'll see.
And a lots going to come down to how Tom Tom Thibodeau uses the guys.
Because spacing also has to do with your placement on the floors.
Not always. Just shooting.
You know, you need to be able to knock down the shots so that people respect you, right? But it also comes down to where you stand on the floor, how you space yourself out on the floor, you know, to open up lanes for guys to penetrate.
Because if a guy like a like a RJ's in the corner and he only shoots 33 34%.
Guess what? Your defender is still going to close out on R.
J because there's a chance that he could knock down that shot.
They may not close out on Elfrid Payton, but if Elfrid Payton is the one doing the passing right, if Elfrid Payton is the one that could go to the basket and do the passing, they're gonna close out on R J.
Even it was only 33% they'll close out on Frank.
Even though it's only 33%.
They'll close out on Randall, even if it's only 30%.
Why? Because they at least they may not be great.
But they've showed the ability to make the shot, which means that player has to close out because if you don't, you never know when a player is going to get hot right, so it doesn't always come down to just can they make the shot? Are you respectable and will your player close out? And I think all of those players I name um R.
Barrett, Frank, Julius Randle, Kevin Knox.
Their players will close out right, and if there's play and if there players will close out, then it can open up that lane.
The thing is, you can't have guys standing in the same area.
You gotta have good spacing.
Know where you're standing on the floor so it comes down to more than just shooting the ball.
It also comes down to where you're standing.
Because if I'm standing right next to Tony, he shoots 50% from the three point line.
But I'm standing right next to him and allow my defender to be there with him.
He can't get the shot off, no matter how good he shoots the ball.
So a lot of it comes down to where you are spaced out on the floor and how you space the floor out.
Meaning where you stand and how you're organized within your offense.
Lot comes down to that.
And we didn't always have that.
Um, so you know, I get it, I get it.
And then that also plays into elevating your shooting.
Because even if you have a guy that historically shoots bad, if you have a good offense that allows you Thio, open up the floor, right? Based on you overload one side of the floor.
So the weak side is always open, right? And when you do your actions and the ball gets swung to that weak side that guys open.
You do some things like that.
All of a sudden, these guys percentages raise up because they're getting wide open shots.
And you become a better shooting team because the offense dictates it.
So you know, a lot goes into it.
See, you have a lot of like disrespecting RJ last year.
I feel like our gente Goodyear because he had no space and going into the rim.
I feel once he opens up, he could easily next year or this year, coming up average over 20 points when he has the space.
See, that's the key.
And that's why I don't think uh huh, that I don't think so.
This needs to be on the floor because thank around those a good offensive player.
What does he can't shoot.
He doesn't play defense like I think we kind of have to move them.
I get that to be like a number one.
Priority is moving around, though, because of the spacing, because the help RJ because Rhonda didn't help Arjuna.
There's been a lot of times Where are Dems cut into the vascular origins wide open and Rhonda wasn't You know what? I have video.
I have video Thio Thio Change your perception of that.
You could go watch the video.
You could go watch the you go watch the video plenty of times, Plenty of times.
And I still got clips where random found RJ.
Especially if you get down towards the last two months of the season.
A lot of times he found RJ cutting to the basket RJ cutting to the basket for dunks.
RJ doing backdoor cuts to the basket.
Uh, earlier in the season, they didn't find each other as much.
I think later in the season they started to find each other a little bit more.
R J was finding him, and I think he found R J a little bit more.
You know, I think they found a little bit.
I don't want to say a full out connection, but I think that they got the chemistry became a little bit better.
Ast faras playing a Sfar is playing with each other on the floor.
Will that continue? Who knows? But I think it got a little bit better towards the end of the season.
Um, because one thing that Randall could do that I don't know if we have another big that could do it.
I don't know about New Orleans.
Well, and I'm not going to say the OBE is ready to do it.
Randall can he can actually pass from that high post.
So Kenobi, always on a lot in Qatar is even translates the N B A.
But he's done a lot in college.
All we was a very good passer because he still has that passing school.
Because I didn't know.
I only found that I recently that Oh, being high end high school with a point guard, and then he grew, Yeah.
Um, so you know, if those guys can pass from that high post, uh, you know, Randall Randall could pass from the high post.
He's good at finding people from there.
He has a, um, ability to make some passes from there.
And Tom Thibodeau likes to use big men from that high post position.
So, you know, and then now you know, old being Randall is not gonna be on the floor together.
I don't think a lot unless something just works see those Franz playing.
If one of them could play defense, that wouldn't be that That would be the thing if one of them could play defense because they got even though they don't have the height, they got strong bodies.
Both of them got big, right.
They got strong body.
So it would, you know, they'd be ableto if they if they were.
If they were, they could play some defense, you know? But I hope so, but only can get like defense because he said it in the interviews.
Like you gotta work on this defense.
And I hope Thibodeau and Kenny Pain and the guys can help him with it because his his defense, that was like I wanted it.
I was happy with drafted him.
That was the one thing that was in the back of my head. It was about his defense.
And I was like, We don't need another Randall.
We don't need to replace Rondo's defense with the same thing.
Yeah, I'm really hoping he can get the defense going because his footwork on defense is atrocious.
Yeah, well, you know, we'll see.
Uh, you know, we'll see.
What this with this culture staff and do Monte Knicks thinking for the super chat again, he said.
Calipari is a sleazy Carl's Man car salesman.
I disagree with you, though.
You all believe when he told his Knox had the highest potential in the draft.
Um, he said, uh, Nick's have all Kentucky bust one.
I'm I wouldn't say Randall was a bust right on.
And then about Kevin Knox, three years Exactly.
Thank you, Tony, Thank you.
You could go back and read it.
You could go back and look at it.
People keep on saying it because he came out because collar Perry came out with that video talking about quickly.
People like he said the same thing about Knox.
No, he did not, he said that he said quickly.
Right, he said quickly, is ready now.
He said, Kevin Knox.
He said, There's gonna be some players that were drafted before and after him that are better right now, but in the long run, he's gonna be the better player.
We're only in year.
We're going on Year three.
Hey said gives his kid 3 to 4 years because he was so young an age, right? So, you know, people keep throwing out these false narratives, man.
You know, I'm saying that that's the biggest false narrative there is.
Calipari straight up, said you've got to be patient with him.
But now everyone wants to say that he said that Knox was the greatest thing to ever walk the Earth.
Man, these dudes come on, I need to be there.
Need to be patient.
Would Obi Afobe doesn't average 20 and 10.
They're gonna be, like, all trained, and he's a bust.
It's like you got to give guys time.
I'm like, didn't you? Not everyone is like LeBron James of these guys that hit soon as they come into the N B A.
And then my next founders So impatient Riel King Real King said, How much time do you need? I want you to understand something, real king.
This is not the days of Patrick Ewing coming into the MBA when Patrick Ewing came Thio.
Yeah, Patrick Ewing came into the league.
He was 22 years old when he came into the league.
Yeah, You're gonna have you, LeBron James.
Guys, you're gonna have you know those guys Kobe Bryant took a few years before he really start cooking in the league.
He was playing behind Eddie Jones.
It's okay. Um, a couple years.
Right. But see, back then it was marks.
It was Mawr expected that young players, We're gonna take a little bit of time because guys came out of, you know, Kobe Bryant is, you know, one of the Trail Blazers to come out of college.
I mean, to come out of high school, not the Trailblazer, but one of them right to come out of high school.
And they expected these guys to take a little bit more time.
Nowadays, you expect the guys to come in in your first two or three years, just be killing.
You got some guys that do it right.
But more than that, you're gonna have guys that don't do it.
See if Kevin Knox had come out back in 1996 right? They'd be okay with sitting them on the bench for three years and waiting until he was ready.
You know, give me a little bit of playing time here, there.
But today these guys get they play early, right? They play early and then and then they you know everybody.
And then the spotlight is on.
You know what I'm saying? You know, you gotta You gotta You gotta be a little bit patient, man.
Gotta be a little bit patient.
Yeah, Um, you know these guys 18, 19 years old, coming into the league, they're not, You know, they're not coming into the league like they did way back in the day.
Yeah, you know, well, like Knox Knox to me, Knox has the potential.
Like he has that, like Kevin Durant of Brandon.
Him like that style three belong three way score potential.
He just needs to keep it in the working instead of being on fortnight.
You know, some of these kids that come out and the like I don't know. It's in the NFL.
A lot of guys come in on day, get that couple of million dollars, and then they're good.
They lose that motivation because they're getting nothing in college, like, want the money to support my family about on.
Then they got that money on.
Then the motivation is gone.
I mean, yeah, and that Now I I get it.
I I agree with you.
You know, you want guys to work hard and and do the things that they're supposed to dio.
I mean, I'm just saying, these guys, you know, they come into the league really, really young.
You're only gonna have a few guys that explode and actually kill it every time.
You know, Not every time, but kill it when they come into the league at 18 or 19 years old.
What I'm saying now, everybody's going to do that, you know? You know, you know, Real King said were delusional.
We could be delusional, All right.
But, you know, I've spent the last 20 years coaching young players, and I've seen guys start off trash and end up being college material, right? Because it takes time for players to develop.
So if you want to go ahead and bash a kid that's 21 years old, 20 or 21 years old because he doesn't live up to what your expectations go ahead.
You could do that.
And what about cir***stance? Culture circle? Cir***stantial things like like coaching, like systems like, um, plays that you're actually playing with fit.
Like all these things you gotta take into the ****.
You could see a kid who's playing horrible somewhere.
And you might see them and be like if I had that kid.
You know what I mean? I use them this way, and it will be a totally different player.
So it's a whole bunch of things you gotta take in tow, but whole lot, you know what I'm saying? I mean, someone who just said Mark, Mark Siegel said everyone was hating on Ingram.
True, it was the same thing with Ingram.
Everybody was waiting on Ingram, you know.
Look, look, Ella, Ella went traded him and Lonzo ball just for Anthony Davis to get a chip.
And to me, in the long run, that's gonna pay.
They're gonna pay for that.
They might get they're gonna get maybe two or three chips.
But then in the long run, Ingram is gonna be bawling out.
LeBron is gonna be gone.
A D might be gone on.
They have no pics.
So to me, in that deal, if anything, they should have gave Koosman. Said ingram.
Because if margin Brandon England breaking out in that team now.
It'll be something else, but You know, I think somebody's there's like Ingram was probably maybe even the best thing for him to go to New Orleans.
The smaller market e get on, get get away from LeBron Because I like LeBron.
But LeBron isn't really probably the best for young players.
Well, definitely not.
You know, once you get LeBron on your team, you know, it's time you gotta put vets on the team.
You know, on what they were saying, Like about Lonzo ball was people sent after two years.
He was a bust he didn't realize.
Used to dribble up the court, give the ball to LeBron and stand in the corner.
Yeah, you know, you know, one of the things that you know people get with Kevin Knox.
His first season, he averaged 12 points per game.
All right, You know, people say, Well, Kobe made the all star team in second year.
I mean, true, He did, but he really burst.
Burst? I mean, okay, he made the all star team.
I get it, but he really, really burst burst about his 3 30 year four.
Feel like, like, really burst.
Right? You know, he made the all Star team was absent 15 points a game.
Um, you know, I don't I don't remember if he was a starter back then or not.
Right on the all Star team.
I don't remember if he was a starter on the all Star team when he when he made it in the second year.
He was averaging, like, 15 points a game.
Something like that.
Um, but, you know, he started off averaging about seven points a game, and then he averaged 15 points a game.
Knox went in the opposite direction.
But I think that had more to do with the makings of the team than Kevin Knox, you know, And the way that things were down, you know, with the team now, you know, Listen, a player is a player, and if you're like super duper nice, then it's not gonna matter who's on your team.
You're gonna shine through.
But, you know, sometimes the player's personality and whether they are who they are, uh, you know, takes precedence over their talent.
You know, that's something that he might need to get over.
I'm just saying you get these kids some time to grow up a little bit before you just, you know, Scream, get him out of town.
Give him some time to grow up.
That's all but a man.
I'm about to head up out of here.
Ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow night, I'm gonna do this again tomorrow night.
Now, I have the phone lines open tomorrow night.
So, you know, I can call in and hear what you guys got to say.
You know, about the entire the entire weekend for the same time? Same time.
I'm gonna I'm gonna do a wrap up for day three tomorrow.
And this right here will be streaming just about all day tomorrow on 3.
65 Knicks, You know, so people can pop in and talk about it, Do whatever just like it was today.
And then tomorrow night at midnight, I'm gonna do another.
I'm gonna do a day three free agency wrap up.
Uh, there probably won't be a whole lot, you know, because a lot of guys have already done some things.
Maybe, you know, we see Cem Cem trades or some other moves or something like that, but I doubt there'd be a whole lot tomorrow.
But tomorrow we'll do.
We'll do it again.
Then I had the phone lines open so I could hear what people think.
Just about what the Knicks have done for the entirety of free agency.
Right? We'll find out some more stuff tomorrow.
You know, if the Knicks are making any other moves or if they have anything in the works or anything like that, You know, we'll find out some more tomorrow.
Let's see if they start shopping and shop right instead of the dollar tree.
Get up. Out of that $5.
Ben, do something else.
You know what I'm saying? Get about a $5 bet and do something else.
So players five for five million tomorrow.
I mean right, you know, I'm saying, um, we'll see what's up, man.
We'll see what's up tomorrow, Ladies and gentlemen, the same time I appreciate you guys for coming out talking with us tonight and we'll catch you tomorrow night.
The out of here.
Ladies and gentlemen, being peaceful and everybody everybody, you know, talking stuff about me because I'm talking about, uh, Kevin Knox and defending him because he's a young player.
So What Say what you got to say. I don't give a ****.
Say what the hell you got to say, bro.
He's a young player.
Let that man grow.
It's only going.
It's only when they got worse.
No doubt about it.
All these knuckleheads in the chat there's got some knuckleheads, man.
