Yeah, to another edition of Title Town Show.
But he is, um, wonderful.
Co wonderful guest.
Laurence Owen is we break down the Packers pulse matchup this weekend.
It's gonna be an intriguing one.
And we're just waiting for Matt Skirt to join us.
Co host having some connection connection issues over there.
But we're gonna start by breaking down the Packers Jags game so we could start.
And that could kind of give his points when he jumped.
Okay, um, it's you say click on his profile.
I think that's how you do it.
Great click or click or something like that and then it'll settle.
Say, invite to dream.
Invite the co host or something like that.
Cost more. Okay.
Now, if it's city to is profile page and that's not it zip file there.
There is a way to do it.
I can't remember. It's It's right over here somewhere.
Okay, there we go.
Invite. All right.
That game, unfortunately, turned into a trap game, and I was talking my friend and I actually agree with him when he says the chiefs potentially have an easier route to the Super Bowl this year than they did last year.
Just because the NFC so wide open and, like I mean, that those the Bills almost lost to the Jets, like three or four weeks ago on like that, that wasn't a pretty win.
I mean, there's throughout the season we've seen teams from both conferences have ugly winds, and this was definitely one of them for the Packers.
Well, I mean, to be fair, you guys were down your top two corners, so I mean, that's going to affect the game in a major way.
And with the status, I'm still on the on the side of Jerry Gray, the Minnesota Viking secondary coach.
Like the status of the Packers secondary.
Um, we needed that.
And now Kevin Kings up.
And obviously David Bakhtiari is now 105 and a half million dollar contract, highest in league history.
For an offensive lineman.
Eso that's well deserved.
I personally don't see Kevin King coming back, Matt.
So that definitely wasn't It looks like he wasn't able to get in, so it definitely wasn't ugly when yeah, I mean, a win is a win.
Um, but, I mean, we need better wins.
And I was telling Matt last week which will break down in a second here, But if we beat the Colts, I think it's gonna be a big statement win for the Packers.
And I don't expect anyone right now.
Any ****yst, because the only win the only winner looks good right now on there's which.
Yeah, I don't call that anything impressive because we're playing all those.
I mean, if you put if you if they had a healthy George Kittle if they had a healthy Raheem Mostert Jerick McKinnon backfield grandson McKinnon was playing, um, They had Deebo.
Samuel Brannan, IAC Kendrick born, um, and a healthy Nick Bolsas.
That would have been a completely different game.
Um, and this is this is going to be another test for the Packers against the Colts this week.
Oh, yeah, I absolutely think you I agree.
I mean, Vegas agrees with you.
They got the colts of favorites at 1.
5, and they ain't even taking home field advantage into it because there is the home field advantage anymore.
Um, but nd in these defense Israel.
And that's something that teams have to realize fans have to realize now.
I mean, the Colts have played some very good offenses in the NFL so far.
Uh, the Ravens running attack.
They held them to 110 yards, which is the least that they've ever given had against any team in the Lamar Jackson era, there's a number one total yards defense, the number two passing deep.
Hence the number three rushing defense in the number four scoring defense in the NFL.
And, um, Aaron Rodgers is great, but But he has yet to face a defense school.
That's why this game was flex to the forelock slot this Sunday.
Yeah, and I think going we're doing season predictions that we had John for Texans.
I think that was also another guy was high on, um, Colts.
I mean, I think you were saying something with the protection.
Like Philip Rivers like this is the best protection Philip Rivers has had throughout his entire career.
I mean, like, obviously it's like slowly gotten better over with the Chargers, but I mean, now we're starting to see people on their defense outside of various.
Leonard, make those plays.
I mean, it seems to me like this edge Russian Corps in Indianapolis is not talked about enough.
I mean, I mean, you're seeing more guys make plays outside of divorce.
****ing I know you posted something about Julian Blackmon.
I mean, even that secondary core like Julian Blackmon is another guy that's really gone unnoticed.
Met says I would say the only good defense Rogers has faced so far was Tampa.
Yeah, I would definitely say Tampa, I actually yeah.
The only Goodwin looks is the Saints, but yeah, I mean, the Tampa The Tampa is probably the best defensive place of on the culture.
Probably gonna be out there.
I'm not mistaking the cult of what, Top three defense right now.
And they were there.
Number one right now in 20.
Oh, this is gonna be like a big test.
And I know if we win this game, this is going to be a huge statement win.
But looks like Matt is struggling to get on here.
But another player in the secondary that is kind of getting overlooked right now is a player that you and Green Bay fans know quite well that Xavier Rhodes.
And right now he's He's rejuvenated his career in Indianapolis.
He's playing at an all pro level right now, Uh, he's only allowing, I believe quarterback rating of, like 41.
So that's that's unbelievable.
Uh, the past defenses he's got.
I think the Colts are aid for the most interceptions in the NFL.
They have the most picks sixes in the NFL, and it all stems from, as are, have the third best pressure percentage against quarterbacks.
Yet they Blitt the third least amount in the NFL.
So that tells you right there, that this defensive line with Houston and, uh with Justin Houston Divorce Buckner, Don Nico Autry, Grover Stewart.
These guys, they're getting the job done upfront and allowing the rest, the the other players to go just go back there and and play their roles the way they're supposed to on this defense.
Yeah, I mean, even outside of the edge Russian core.
I mean, from a developmental standpoint.
I mean, you hit it right on the money there when you brought up Xavier Rhodes.
I mean, we talked about Xavier Rose.
Xavier Rhodes was an all pro corner, like during the first few years of his career over Over in Minnesota in the past two seasons.
The map I said a while ago.
I mean, with the status of the Vikings defense, they could really use Jerry Gray Right now.
I think that was one of the most underrated splashes with the Packers off season.
But if you're looking from a developmental standpoint, rockets since starting to produce a lot more now, I believe there's a second round draft pick out of Temple, whose, too two years ago from out Miss.
Taken, Um, safety Kerry Willis, um Justin or Julian Blackmon? Lee Hooker.
I mean, Xavier Rhodes.
You're starting to see, like all these guys like the Colts defense is so young to it up and coming and I know they want to see.
I don't know what your thoughts are on this, but they want to see Philip.
Philip River says he's there beyond this contract.
I think he's there to develop a quarterback, um, Mats Mats, that he's gonna give us takes.
But yeah, I mean, if I'm being honest, Philip Rivers is not a bad quarterback and ultimately learning behind.
I don't know how you feel about Jacob Eason.
We haven't heard much.
You probably have heard more.
I haven't heard much about him, especially through training camp s.
It'll be interesting to see if they how they address that or if they end up trying to groom Essen.
But Philip Rivers has one.
I mean, two years locked up with steel.
Um, but yeah, no rivers right now.
I mean, when you think of a quarterback that that's not moving a pocket, I mean, there's or scrambles.
There's two quarterbacks that come to mind right now.
You got Tom Brady, Philip Rivers.
These guys do not move right.
And Philip Rivers is right now the least sacked quarterback in the NFL.
He's only been sacked seven times through nine games.
That's gotta say something about how good this offensive line is protected him because, like I said, he doesn't move.
He's basically a state.
I mean, he could move around in the pocket, but he doesn't escape and take off like a Mahomes or Lamar Or or Murray or someone like everywhere.
Rogers for for instance, Um, where was has really stepped up this season? Um, Ato, beginning of the year with no kind of.
It was a new team, new players around him, things like it took a while for him to actually start to get to understand his receiving corps.
The tight ends, his wide receivers.
How was running backs run routes, the speed of each individual person? And you could see that through the first four games.
But the last three games, Rivers has really stepped it up.
He's only thrown one interception in the last three or four games.
Now, uh, plenty of touchdowns.
His completion percentage is right around 70% for the season.
He's doing much, much better because he's finally starting to understand and get used to the guys around him.
As for Jacob Eason, Um, not a lot has been said, uh, in in any kind of interviews or anything with the head coach or the offensive coordinator.
They just said that he is developing.
Um, Philip Rivers has eaten in his back pocket.
Yes, he is teaching him stuff.
He's got a he's got maybe the most talented arm out of this past draft, and we're talking about over Joe Burrow over to over Herbert, but he's got problems with reading He's got problems throwing while he's on the move.
He's got problems.
Uh, just being a typical leader, uh, in and outside the locker room.
So he's learning these these things to be an NFL quarterback, whether or not he gets good enough to take over the starting job next season.
We'll just have to trust the brass toe.
Make that decision.
I mean, I think Herbert had I think Herbert had the strongest arm in the class.
But isa, I definitely think it's a project.
A lot of people, including myself.
I did think he should have stayed at Washington another season.
I think they would have really helped him.
I know about Kiper was one of those guys that said, um um that he waas they didn't he didn't have enough tape the show on, but it's gonna take him or than just a year.
I think Philip has what, two years? Because they sent him to three, right? There was a two years, one year, one year.
I mean, the colts, The only quarterback the Colts have under contract next year is Jacobson.
Yes, because this is the last year.
Percent and Matt actually just said so.
First, he said, I would agree with you.
Sam River seems like a guy who would grew up the next successor on.
Then he asked you, Lawrence, do you think the coal? What do you think the Colts to do with percent? I think they're letting him walk.
I don't see him as their guy.
I think he's a very reliable Q B two, Um, but I don't see him being a successor or a Q B one anywhere else.
Unless someone gets hurt when it comes to Jacoby percent, it will be depends upon what he'd be willing to take to stay here.
That's because he's the culture, not looking at him as their QB one, and they're not gonna pay him to be one money to stay here.
And I think percent wants to have that shot at Q B one somewhere in the NFL, so they'll probably let him test the market.
Uh, if he gets a bite that he likes Mawr than being a back up to the Indianapolis, then he'll probably take it.
If not, he may come back as a back up again.
But the the odds of that happening are very, very low.
Yeah, I'm interested to see because I mean, like I said, I think I think, using the project I I don't think he'll be in a fully NFL ready in a year.
I give him at least another season.
I mean, Matt and I have talked about Jordan.
Love is Well, I think Jordan love is a big project, Um, quarterback, especially with four years left on Aaron Rodgers contract, um, at the time, very indifferent of the draft pick.
But, I mean, the Colts.
I mentioned the Saints this coming draft as an interesting team to watch in the first round.
Do you think the Bears could possibly go up 2% if the Colts let him walk? I think the Bears draft a quarterback, but I'm willing to bet it's not in the first round.
I bet you they keep Nick Foles for another year.
I think the Jags also won big time on trading him because you're getting rid of about $88 million contract.
Think they gave up like one? 1/4 round pick? Um, I think Kobe percent will go somewhere, but I don't see him getting a starting job.
Maybe he'll come in and compete.
But I still think Foles is going to come in and win the job eventually.
He does come in.
Um, but the Bears.
I mean, this quarterback class isn't overly deep, but there are some talented guys you can grab early, obviously outside of Trevor Lawrence, Trade lines.
Justin Fields See exact Wilson E mean Zack Wilson's a stud.
And for the way the Colts are playing, there's probably a strong chance, if especially exact, Wilson keeps it up.
He might go in the top 10.
Hey, might even be taken before Trey. Lance.
I mean, the Colts might even be take.
The Colts might have a pick 25 to 32 the way they're playing right now.
Um, but a guy I'm looking at and there's a guy that I'm getting sold on now starting to be sold on in the college level but still waiting for the NFL level.
And that's Kyle Trask.
Um, Kyle Trask is really put himself on the map, No question.
Is he a Heisman candidate right now? The quarterback that would benefit really well from learning behind someone.
So they interested to see if Philip Rivers does end up, you know, taking that friendly contract cause he's at the point of his career where he shouldn't necessarily be like I don't see him asking for a ton of money.
And I think the Colts are very close Thio, especially after blowing out the Titans and having statement winds like that.
I think they're very close to making some noise in the playoffs.
Yeah, I think so, too.
Especially with the way the culture offensive starting around out it was.
It was scary early on.
Um, when you have your starting running back, Marlon, Matt, go down.
Uh, you have you figured to be your biggest playmaker? Not to Whitehill, but Paris Campbell getting go down.
Uh, your your number one pick.
It was in the first round, but Michael Pittman junior, he goes down for about a month.
Philip Rivers had nothing to work with in the first month, month and a half of the of the of this season.
Um, when it comes, the receivers.
And of course, Jonathan Taylor was not ready to take that RB one spot with the Indianapolis and it's still showing that.
But I don't know if Indy will go with the graft.
There's been a name that's been linked to Indianapolis, Uh, for the last month or so that I think if it's available Ah, second round pick to the New York Jets.
If the Jets end up with the first pick of the draft and they wanna go grab Lawrence if India can offer the Jets a second round pick for Sam Donald, I think that is.
I think that is a move that would be a very big move for Indianapolis because I think Sam Donald with weapons around him right now.
I don't think he's damaged goods, but another year in a jet system he might be, but they could move him over.
I think that would be a huge move for the Indianapolis Colts.
Yeah, I think Sam Donald has quite a few fits, and I love the Colts fit with the amount of weapons.
I like the Niners.
Ah, lot with George Kittle with Brandon I with Deebo.
Samuel, I I I've got I'm very high. And Brandon I okay.
I think he was the best yards after catch receiver draft.
He was the yards after catch machine over the issue last season.
Um, I think he's got the town to potentially beat out you guys.
The number one guy.
It doesn't help that Depot has been out on the i r for quite some time.
A za number one receiver? Um, yeah.
I mean, the Jets were gonna be a really fascinating team to watch.
And I think if they if they fire gays, that's the that they win their offseason.
Andi, like, let's not I mean, like I backed it looks very promising.
Malek. Opie Ryan.
I thought he was.
He's not talked about enough.
I'm be interest to see if you put him on another team how well he'd be able to contribute.
But, I mean, it seems to me like having Frank Gore in that backfield.
The future Hall of Fame running back is really helping that run game because you're seeing, like, small flashes out of the Michael P.
Ryan Denzel Mims.
Unfortunately, think he came back to three weeks ago. Waas.
I saw like it was their draft class that looks promising.
There was another guy to defense.
I think he's out of like calor.
I don't remember.
He looks promising.
I think he was over in their linebacker core.
Um, but like they have, they have a front office that is not like my boggling.
I mean, they need the right head coach.
And especially now that they hopefully they might go after Trevor Lawrence.
I hope the Jags get it, but the Jets play their games and tried to lose or try to win, and they somehow still lose.
Um, but it will be interesting, but honestly, I think I think the Jets you're right.
You know, they fire Adam Gates.
They're a step up over Texas because Texas waited until the season already started to get rid of Bill O Brien.
Um, but they get rid of gays.
They take that first round pick, they go get Lawrence.
They already have Beckton.
As you mentioned, they'll have their own second round pick.
And if they trade out Sam Donald for another second round pick, they'll have two second round picks.
I think if they go out and get a couple offensive linemen in that second round, to go with that didn't to protect Lawrence.
I think they have some weapons out there in on that offense over the Jets.
I think that could be the right move to go with them.
And they could be on Ah, similar trajectory in that trajectory that the Miami Dolphins right now.
I mean, they have Jamison Crowder, too, and, like Jamison Crowder very promising receiver.
And I'm going from fantasy perspective to like.
He is one of these very consistent, Like he's one of the most consistent receivers in fantasy right now that, like nobody really talks about and another guy's Brandon cooks like we just talked about the Houston Texans, the Jets.
Yeah, I mean, like, nobody wants to go to the Jets because their franchise are like to coach the Jets, I should say, because their franchise isn't successful.
But if you look at the Houston Texans, yeah, they have a quarterback.
They have the Shawn Watts and they just paid them.
Quarterbacks are hard to come by, but they don't pick until the fourth round.
Like that is gonna be such a difficult team Thio build upon and like, I think the one thing they need to do is trade. J. J. Watt.
Watt did say a few weeks for a few weeks ago that he doesn't wanna be in rebuild mode.
He is getting up there in age.
We know how injury prone he has become.
They need to trade him.
They don't pick until the fourth round.
I think that is one of the first things they need to be doing is put JJ on the market.
Um, that said it would help.
The cults still compete for multiple years, and they would give the culture quarterback for the future.
Um, yeah. I mean, I think he was referring to Sam. Donald.
I mean, I see multiple fits for San Donald.
Um, I'd be really interested.
Thio it seemed I wouldn't want to see him on the bear.
I think Max Kellerman said, Aaron Rodgers and the Bears.
I don't think Aaron Rodgers leaves for a divisional.
Well, I mean, basically, Eastern would be moving or not. Eastern. Sorry.
Donald will be moving from one team with no offensive line and some weapons to another team with no offensive line in some weapons.
I mean, you need to go out there and give him some protection.
So that he doesn't feel like the whole the whole offenses resting on his shoulders because that's what sitting right now upon him, Yeah, yeah, definitely.
And like, there's some tackles in this draft.
Last this past draft, it was deep attack, A very deep, but deep enough where you see talent go away early and it's looking like that might be the case again this year, and especially with the wide receiver class I've heard, some people say, Is this coming classes deeper than last year's or deeper than this past year's draft, like it looks so impressive? What team do you guys think? What would be traded to during the off season? I think it'll be whatever team is willing to give it the most.
So, like whatever team is not really contending for a playoff.
We're not like Super Bowl contending, maybe on like the verge of being in the playoff, because that's gonna be where they're going to get the most for him.
Uh, over the last five seasons on his production, even though he's been healthy, that you're his production has went consistently down and that's that's kind of ah, red flag, so I don't see Ah, huge to even though he is a monster name in a household name in the NFL, I don't see anything higher than a third round pick for J. J.
Watt, right? That's exactly that's what I said.
I mean, I think you could make depending on one of the team that is maybe a second, depending on where that second round pick might be.
But because of the injuries, that that's exactly what I said.
I think Matt and I were talking about that a few weeks ago.
I think third round pick, I think I mean, I would be.
I would still be content with a third round pick, given his injury history, given he's getting up there and she's almost getting up there in his mid thirties.
I mean, if I if I'm a team, I give up a third round pick.
Um, depending on which team it is, But let's kind of go into the Packers Colts game and kind of give our standout players.
Let's start with the Colts offensive side of the ball.
Who's the one guy to stop to me? I don't think this is hard.
I'll start with you Well, the one guy to stop on the Colts offense.
Oh, my goodness.
There's a lot of players there is, but there's one that really sticks out to man.
You're probably honestly right now, I think that you're gonna need someone to watch, Uh, name Heinz.
I think you're gonna need someone to sit and watch the because the Packers Runde it's not been very good in the minds is so good in the in this, uh, in this zone blocking scheme, he looks, he waits his patient, and then on top of that, he can run blocking little dude.
Little little guy held up his own when he stopped to block Garrett.
Alright. Garrett from the Browns.
E mean just, like, stonewalled in one time.
I was like, What? I guess that's what you get when you have Tom Rathmann as you're running back, coach, But and then, of course, you know, when he does go out for the past, he runs route catches like a wide receiver.
So, toe have that to go with when you're a running back? Yeah, the minds is that guy that you're you're gonna need a spy on him.
I mean, like you said.
I mean, Pittman Pittman went off last week off.
I'm very high on Pittman, my love Pittman.
He's probably one of my favorite receivers in this draft class, but yeah, I mean, to me, to me, this wasn't hard at all, because it's for the sake of the Packers run defense we've seen.
I mean, James Robinson, an undrafted rookie who is really shone out this season, Um, get a touchdown.
I'm not mistaken, but yeah, I mean, I think 19 mines is going to give us trouble.
The Packers are starting to see performances from Kingsley Key gmr Trevi's Adams.
Um, trying what game that was.
Oh, it was the game where Delvin cooked went off our trivia.
Adams played less than 10 snaps a game, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous.
But yeah, I mean to me, I've got name Heinz.
I think he does have potential Thio, you know, put up 100 rushing yards in this game and a touchdown.
Oh, well, I mean, don't mean the colts, even though they lost Marlon that they still have a very deep running back court.
Uh, e I mean Jonathan Taylor for all of the things that he does not do well, which is lateral movement.
He could run over people, and he is incredibly fast.
If if you bring a safety up to stop the run and he levels and he's shown that he could do that, he can level somebody all by itself.
And then there's no one in front of him to stop him.
God, he has yet to do that this year because there's always someone back there always.
You know, the teams, the defense's air, keeping their safeties back toe make sure.
Hey, you know, we gotta be able to get hats on this dude because one on one, Jonathan Taylor will try to run over anybody and has that possibility.
Very patient, Smooth runner.
Uh, his first two seasons in the NFL led all running backs in yards per carry for any running back with 50 50 or more carries a season.
I think he averaged over six yards of carry his rookie year and 5.
8 yards of carry his second year.
Eso I mean, he's a very good guy to spell people.
Oh, uh, twisting, twirling backflips, e.
I mean, It's ridiculous.
After a round off, he's incredibly athletic.
Eso Yeah, the Colts have a good, good, solid run game.
Um, you mentioned Michael Pittman Junior and I think the Alexander, I think I think, you know, probably I have done a great job, but my only question is, right now he's listed as questionable.
I don't know if he'll be back or not.
Yeah, I was just gonna say that.
Don't think he Peter didn't practice or he had very limited, like a chapter in this episode here.
But yeah, I mean, Paris Campbell still in the i r T Y. Holden has.
I mean, it almost seems like he's kind of hit or miss every week now because he kind of he's and something.
So Jonathan Taylor as well I mean, we started this one of the biggest, you know, struggles with Jonathan Taylor was he was highly unproven in the passing game coming out of we're starting to see now running backs that undersized like 900 that are starting to earn it take of proving people wrong.
I mean, 11 running back that I'm thinking of in this coming draft, I just kind of gain well, and he kind of reminded me of a little bit of history. Cohen.
I think Tariq Owen is a very underrated path, pressure in the NFL as a ZA running back, and I think it sometimes does go unnoticed notice.
But in terms of Jonathan Taylor, we started to see a little bit a little bit of that early, too, which was very promising, and they started to.
The Badgers started to utilize him less and less after the first game or so.
I mean, he had two touchdowns his first game against South Florida last season.
Many was utilized less and less.
Um, that's not necessarily his fault, but it shows that he's capable of doing it.
And you just mentioned he's a bulldozer running back, okay? Oh, no, Jonathan Taylor.
His his biggest asset right now is catching the football out of the backfield on swing routes and screens.
Um, you get him on a screen with with with with two guys out in front of him and his speed, he's busted much longer, runs out of the screen or a swing pass out in the flat.
Then he has any any run that he's done this season because of that speed and and the ability to break a tackle.
Uh, he's had 30 30 plus yard catch is out of the backfield multiple times, catching teams off guard.
Um, and and that's something that Philip Rivers will utilize every day all day, right? Because he loves his running backs.
He loves his tight ends.
Speaking of tight ends, that's another situation that you guys are gonna have to really watch out for, because Colts tight end group is very solid.
Um, you got Jack Doyle, who's a former Pro Bowler.
You got Trey Burton, who's a former Pro Bowler, and then you got or, well, I mean the Phillies special, right? Um, and then you got up and coming tied in in Mohali.
Cox, who is just a matchup nightmare for anybody right now, Uh, he's like 6667 £250 but can move and run like a running back.
So, yeah, he's He's very, very good.
Cox has really put himself on the radar throughout this season.
I think that's I'm trying to think what game that was that he really opened the eyes, um, of those NFL like of those NFL skeleton coaches and experts.
I mean, he's you mentioned it like he moves very well for his size.
He's a he's a force.
He's a force of nature and and you go over their defense inside.
I wanted to play this game where we don't pick Darrius liner.
I know you didn't like that last time.
We think we did the J.
I was going to go with a wild card and go with Julian Blackmon.
I mean, I like the up and coming secondary with the cult's, um, and the fact that you blew out the the Titans, a team.
The times where a team that people saw, like coming into this season the first few games, um, with how well Tannehill was doing.
People were looking titles.
The top three team in the A f.
I mean, now they don't look as strong.
I mean, they're big forces.
Derrick Henry and their offense, Jadeveon Clowney is we're not seeing anything from Jadeveon Clowney.
I'd be fascinated to see how much is market value changes this offseason.
I mean, I've seen people start to put the overrated take on Jordanian Cloudy.
Um and yeah, I mean, I'm gonna go.
Julian Blackmon Julian Blackmon has been a playmaker as a rookie, and I definitely think it has gone unnoticed.
And Matt says he's going with Buckner.
If the patterns can't stop Buckner, Roger's gonna have just don't stop Buckner on.
And I think Bachtiar is back so back Chiari over Buckner is going to be a really, really fascinating, intriguing competition to watch.
All right, I'm gonna give you a name you probably don't even know.
And it's because of the other guys on that defensive line because you have Buckner.
Yes, Bachtiar e it's there.
But I will guarantee you you're not gonna see ah, whole lot of one on ones, even with Bakhtiari, because Buckner is just a force.
Uh, when the Colts practice against him, it's not one on one with Quentin Nelson.
Quinton Nelson will be well, we'll have help with Ryan Kelly and then because you know that's what they do.
They will double team that that inside pressure, dude, because you don't want a defensive tackle.
As Matt was talking about getting through that offensive line and creating pressure up the middle that wrecks everything, your run game.
See a lot of double teams on Buckner, and because of that, outside guys is gonna be someone you're gonna wanna watch.
And the guy who just came off the published this week.
His name is Kemoko Turay, and he is the one guy that the courts have not had this season that has speed and bend off the edge.
Amazing speed in bend up until he got injured with a double broken ankle.
Which is why he's been gone in Week five against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Last year, he was Pff's number one defensive lineman for quarterback pressures.
He's just unstoppable.
And if he still has that sick over a year of rehabbing, this is a game that's gonna open up a lot of eyes.
He probably will be on a snap count.
He'll probably be on Lee out there on third and longs, and he'll be going up against most likely right tackles because Justin Houston or did he go? Autry will probably be over there on the left side, but that's a guy that you're gonna wanna watch because if he's out there on that field, he can beat people on the outside edge with speed and Ben that you just wouldn't expect because no one knows his name and don't know how to play him.
Yeah, and eso is gonna make two points.
Here is one Arizona card, because you just you just said they don't know how to play on Isaiah Simmons and Isaiah Simmons kind of struggled Thio, you know, find his identity on that defense and he had a He led the team in tackles last night against the Seahawks, and the Seahawks obviously made a statement win against that number.
One offense in the NFL on, then the for the first time the Cardinals beat the Seahawks was the time that really you really started to Seymour flashes out of Isaiah Simmons.
Isaiah Simmons is a freak of an athlete.
He was arguably, I would argue, maybe even a top by prospect in the draft and the fact that the Cardinals were able to get him What? Nine a steel.
Absolute steal, Um, and another name on the Packers.
Matt said, Interesting.
I could definitely see that happening Is a guy that doesn't necessarily I think it's time for him to get more snaps.
You're starting to see him get more snaps.
And that's what Shaun Gary, I mean people.
When the Packers drafted him at 12 people and immediately wrote him off, if you watch him in college, yeah, he doesn't.
His stats don't wow you.
He was double team most of his college career and he tor his labrum, and I get that.
The Tauron labor does affect certain positions more than others.
Jonah Williams took him out for his rookie season, but Rashaan Gary chose to forego his surgery his rookie season last year, and from the times he was on the field, he still produced.
And at this point, I mean, if I'm the Packers right now, I'm during this offseason.
Obviously not the trade deadline has passed.
I'm listening to offers for for Preston Smith and Russian.
Gary was fantastic last week against Jacksonville.
Love seeing with second at the end of the game.
Yeah, I mean, he had a sack.
I think he had another one like assisted sack towards the end of the game.
And Russia and Gary, if you look at this past like that, I'm saying, obviously, Darnell Sa***e is starting to have the sop****re slump.
Um, but I mean I think we're gonna look back on this current draft class and say good was right.
I think it's one that you can't necessarily judge now.
I mean, you mentioned the guy that you're I don't recall his name. I don't want to butcher it.
Kemoko, Kemoko, Turay.
I mean, a guy that doesn't necessarily is the starter isn't necessarily the starter, but when he is given the opportunity, he really shows out.
And we're starting to see more of that from Russian Gary.
Well, that's that.
I always like to see guys who are not really seen very well, uh, make make their impact and getting more playing time, Like chase one of its over in New England.
You know, uh, myself and and my my partner on SportsCastr news.
We talked about him earlier this season.
How? He needs more snaps and he starts getting more snaps, and he starts getting more plays.
And you're starting to hear his name more and more s Oh, yeah.
I love seeing these freak athletes out there.
Just they're on the offense just like you have to match that you have a side on the defensive side or you're just gonna get burned all the time.
Yeah, I like that.
You brought up Chase one of its two because his rookie season he was buried in that depth chart and the Patriots really know how to draft defense of studs.
Andi, obviously, offense has struggled for them lately.
A pepper past few drafts, but they really know how to find their draft guys.
And now they drafted another guy out of Michigan and Josh UCI, Um, a guy that has really was really rising up the boards on bond.
Yeah, and before we kind of go into our season or game prediction, let's kind of go into players from the Packers guys to stop.
And this is tough because the Colts have such a strong and young secondary and their pass rush is very underrated.
Um, and they have the number one, the number one defense in the NFL.
I'm gonna go with a wild card one.
Just because we have almonds are back.
Medical Bob Tanyon, Bob Town.
It has made such a great impact throughout this season.
Andi, I was a little bit confused by the Packers.
The Packers put in an offer for Zachary before he hit the i R.
We did lose Josie Toda Guerra, who actually became.
It seemed like he was starting to become a fan favorite early, which was awesome to see.
But now we're left with Mercedes Lewis, who was such an unbelievable blocking.
Great for our leadership in the locker room, on the offensive side, even in the tight end room.
Um, Jay Stern Burger has really bounced back since is I think it was since his game against Detroit.
Um, Azaz Well, as Aaron Rodgers, Another good one that said, um, that was gonna be my second choice because he's getting all these guys back.
You're seeing more from NBS.
You're seeing promise a lot more promise out of NBS.
You're seeing obviously, Alan Lazard's coming back, But I'm gonna go Bob Thanh gonna be a nice game for him.
All right, so you bring up all those canceling and I'm sorry.
I have to say his actual name because a lot of people outside of Green Bay don't know him as NBS Uh, but, um, he's gonna be a boomer bust in this game.
He is going to be a boom or bust.
He's either going to have a chance to really make big plays.
And when the game for you, because he's not going to be your number two.
He's gonna be your number three if Alan Lazard's out there and, um, but the problem is he makes mistakes.
And against a zone defense, you cannot make a mistake on going one way or another, uh, in the zone.
Because if Rodgers thinks you're going one direction and he throws that way and you don't hit that exact spot, that's an interception.
And you you gotta be very careful with that.
But if he doesn't make those mistakes, he could use that athletic ability and speed in order to Really, if he could find those open spots in the zone, he could have a really, really big him in me, in my opinion, is the guy who could either win it for you or could lose it for you in this game? Yeah, because the past two weeks, you know, he went against a depleted Niners defense, and then he went up against a struggling, um, a struggling Jacksonville defense who was in rebuild mode.
And so he can put up this if he could put up decent numbers of least, um I don't expect anything special now, obviously, because they have Bob Tannin, Davante Adams, They're getting out in.
I think they did come out and say I don't expect them Thio, You know, Rush challenges are back into that often.
So especially since now we're getting later into the season and they want to keep these guys as healthy as possible for when the Packers clinched the playoffs.
I don't see any other team in the in the North clinching just because the NFC West is so close right now, Um, I don't even Yeah, I can see the bear.
I don't see the Bears clutching at all.
Um, I think I mean, I think I think we split the bears.
Um, because I think that's gonna be part of their defense.
But we could get to that another episode, but yeah, I mean, I fully agree, and I think if he if he at least puts up a decent number or even a touchdown, um, that is going to be very promising.
And it is to be reliable.
He's the only thing He is so inconsistent, right? Yeah.
And the game against the weak one receiver that we have.
I mean, him and Economia State Brown are the only wide receivers on the Packers roster that run under a 45 e que runs? A.
I think it's 448 NVs runs a 437 and he does such a nice job creating that separation.
And there's times like Week one against the Vikings where he did that.
And he made that contested catch and caught a touchdown pass.
And that was like that really opened my eyes like, yeah, it was one play like Okay, like, can he keep this up? And then he caught.
He missed an easy third down pass against the Niners and easy wanted e think I immediately went to Packers Twitter.
People were blowing up about that, but then he really so he must have taken at the heart because he really went off the rest of that game.
But yeah, no, I love that pick on guy.
It seems like it definitely either hit or miss pick, because if he does well on match instead of Rodgers plays while the Packers will win.
If he struggles, the Packers will lose.
And before we kind of predict the score, um, end it.
Let's go over to the defense.
I'll let you start with this one.
Which defense? Packer's defense? Yeah.
Oh, someone to watch on the Packers defense.
Uh, well, let me get over here and look again because I'm not 100%.
I don't have every guy on your, uh no yeah, za Darius Smith against our running backs.
That's that's what I like when when they go out in the, uh in.
Ah, because when you have a Sam linebacker that's out there right now and a running back is able to get out in the flat.
And with the kind of speed and athleticism that we have at linebacker are at running back.
He's got to be able to do his job properly and as the same linebacker.
That means setting that edge and making sure that they're not able to get outside because it with the speed and athleticism or running backs, have.
If they get outside, whether it's a run, whether it's a past, it's it's a chance for a huge play, and that's something that Green Bay really needs to hold off on.
And the simple fact is it is as a Sam, that's your job.
And I want to see him or Sorry, I don't want to see him, but it's something that needs to be done by the areas in order to get out there and keep this running back corps because I think they're gonna have a They have a chance to have a really big game this game against Green Bay for them toe for a Green Bay to win.
They have toe contain the running backs, and that area is gonna be a big part of that.
Pick my one of my pictures actually gonna be mats.
Um, but I decided to go elsewhere.
Matt said This may be a hot take, but I got Kenny Clarke.
Kenny Clarke needs to do a great job stopping the run or else we'll be in trouble.
The reason I kind of veered away from Kenny Clarke is because the Colts have such a strong run offense.
Um, your name Heinz.
It is undersized.
However, he does make that case to prove people wrong.
That size doesn't matter.
I'm gonna go for Sean, Gary and the other edge rusher.
I'm hoping to see kind of a similar reason that you alluded Thio with your cult's defensive player to watch, um, as if if he steps up in a really crucial game, Obviously the game that's moved to America's game of the week and Flex 23 25.
I think this will be a huge statement form.
I don't expect anything special, but if we could see something from him, maybe like late in the game, like we have over the Jaguars or a really crucial show a moment like we saw Sack, I think was a second half, I think you know, assistant sack right after that shortly after that, because we're starting to see struggles.
Obviously, he is still playing like he left off from last season on depressing Smith was in.
That was an animal last season, and now we're starting to see a little bit of struggling from him.
Eso this offseason, um, man and I have constantly brought up this offseason it's gonna be interesting.
The wash on the defense for the off season is Preston Smith, but you're starting to see a lot more flashes that Christiane, Gary and I got a shot.
Gary, for this one.
I have a secondary thing, but it's not.
It's not necessarily player.
It's a coach on and and it's not.
Look, Fleur, alright, your defensive coordinator, Matt, like he needs to find a way of getting pressure through this offensive line and get in.
Get into Philip Rivers face, because if Philip Rivers has all day, he's not gonna make those mistakes.
And he really stood out to me and actually my other dairy sports coast over the Houston Texans game because he really knew how to utilize secondary.
I just stopped the quarterback stop like, really shut down those receivers gyre was shutting down Will Fuller all game.
You saw a lot from him.
Rave in green obviously came off the i R, which is super crucial for us.
Henry Black, undrafted rookie out of Baylor, his first tackle. Waas.
His first tackle was a turnover, his first NFL tackling a few flashes on a burning Scott as well.
I first I think my partner has to be on the hot seat.
I think this is I think this is a big game for him because the games that he's done well, where games up that were not competent, like necessarily Packers.
I think if he does well this game, I think it is e think it's gonna help him a lot, but I personally don't see him.
I see being on the hot seat.
I think he's a hot seat coach, but I think this game will help him a lot because I mean, I get that he has faith in this secondary because they're **** good secondary.
But that works really good against young and experienced quarterbacks.
When you haven't experienced quarterback like a Drew Brees or Tom Brady or Philip Rivers, he don't you give him three or four seconds, he will find that guy and they are accurate, You know, I mean, Rivers, Rivers is all about anticipation and accuracy You get, you get pressure in his face.
That makes it makes the mistake's.
That's where the interceptions happened.
You give him time to find that and anticipate where something's gonna go.
He's gonna pick apart.
Even if you're only this far away from the wide receiver, he's gonna put that ball exactly where on Lee, the receiver could get it, and he's gotta find a way of getting pressure against one of the best offensive lines in football.
And I think I'm gonna mention this earlier, too, is you tweeted it out like first few games of the season.
Philip Rivers was the only quarterback in the NFL to not go third longer.
Three and out like that to me.
And like I think a lot of that credit has to go to not only the receivers, but they put they put the elite protection that he's getting.
He's had three and outs since then.
Yeah, but I'm just saying, Yeah, he's one of the least three and out quarterbacks in the NFL right now.
So and and with the protection that the Colts offensive line gives, they've dropped a lot of of draft capital in this offensive line.
You've got three first round picks and a second round pick sitting there.
So and and their right guard comes from Seattle, which I'm sure they wouldn't mind having back Mark Lewinsky because he's a starter for us and he's just a powerhouse in the run game.
So I I think that the Yeah, a zoo.
Good as Green Bay Secondary is, it's It's that front seven.
I think that's gonna be the more important part of this game for Green Bay.
And I think another one.
If Jr was coming into this game fully healthy, I definitely would've picked Jair.
But obviously he is going into this question.
I think I got the update earlier this morning that he was one of those guys questionable, but ended here. Let's go with C.
Let's go with the predictions of the game.
Um, I think Matt, I didn't hear Matt's prediction the other day.
I think he had us losing.
I didn't hear a score.
I think the Packers lose this game 30 to 20.
I think they do keep it close, and I think it does come down to the wire and I told that the other day, I think I think if we lose this game, it's not gonna be a blow up. I mean this.
I think both of these teams fair out very well with each other and I think we I think we could potentially see a big game from 19 Heinz.
But the Packers have had that we've seen performances from guys outside of Kenny Clarke might like Kingsley Kiki March Rabies.
Adams really show out, and I think that d line the front defense up this game is going to be very crucial watch.
However, I do have them losing down to the wire, and I think it's 32.
I don't think this is gonna be a very high scoring game.
I don't know what the betting over and under is.
I can definitely check wire.
You're all right.
So, in my opinion, I think the culture defense is going to give Rodgers a little bit of problems.
I think they're gonna be in his face a little bit as good as as, Ah ah, couple of your blockers are I think the culture will find ways, uh, to bring an extra man once in a while.
And that's gonna mess up there blocking schemes because the Colts don't bullets very often.
And if they blitz a few times the way Tampa they did, then I think that that that could screw things up a little bit with Aaron and his timing.
Uh, and the Colts are incredibly good at containing the quarterbacks inside the pocket.
If they try to get out, then that's where they get their sacks.
So I think that's something that was most likely gonna happen.
I don't see the Colts running as well as what a lot of people think they're going to.
I think they're gonna I think they're gonna doom or through the air.
But it's gonna be short passes.
I don't think Rivers is going to try to test this secondary.
Uh, some, uh, driver out media stuff like that, but nothing huge and deep.
I think they're going to try to do a lot of yards after catch stuff rather than, uh, chunk yardage.
So I think this is a game that's going to go very, very low scoring, and I could see it.
Ah, 21 17 colts.
So the latest odds has negative 1.
5 odds, um, to the Colts.
Winning this game? Um, yeah.
I mean, where did you say 21 to 17.
Matt said 24 to 20 Packers edging out the victory.
Um, if we win, I think it's gonna be a huge statement win and I think t I think experts and ****ysts wills potentially start to take the Packers more seriously because it doesn't matter which team wins.
They're gonna get more serious attention because the Colts don't really get any respect either.
So, you know, it just depends.
Uh, if the Colts win, they're gonna be like, Oh, well, yeah, we know that the defense is for real.
If they if they're able to hold Rogers down, they'll get even more respect on the defense.
If if If Rodgers is able to do stuff against this defense, that will then give him the credit that he deserves.
Fine, right? And I think going into the season to a lot of people thought this division was the Titans for the taking, and it was the Titans to lose and very similar to the NFC West.
I mean, everyone thought, including myself, like over the summer when they had all these guys fully healthy.
It was the Niners division to lose, and I don't think anyone expected the courts to be this good.
I mean, the Colts had an average season last season, but they really have started to come out on top.
Really, had a strong off season and you really, obviously, obviously starting to tell now.
Well, I shouldn't say.
Starting to tell the DeForest Buckner trade has been a huge, huge asset to you, Um, to the Colts.
Um, and that's helped a lot.
Seeing the fact that we're starting to see e eventually, you was a Colts fan.
Are happy to see more guys outside of dairies.
Leonard, Um, getting name to, you know, be those big playmakers to Well, I mean, the colts have a lot of players that are just very good, but don't household names, Kenny.
More of the slot corner is incredible.
Top three slot corner in the NFL.
And I've done a bunch of film room on ah, lot of different slot corners, and I kind of put them top three in the NFL right now.
And yet no, not very many people. Unless you're in NFL.
****yst who watches film consistently knows the name Kenny more.
But if you do, you realize he's the highest paid nickel corner in the NFL for a reason, and he's **** good at it.
So, uh, also, yeah, various.
But this whole linebacking corps for the Colts is very, very good with Anthony Walker Jr and second year player Bobby Okereke.
Um, very underrated linebacking corps, very fast and one of the best tackling teams in the NFL.
And that's why they have such a good defense, because they, they they don't allow anything deep.
They run hard to the football and they tackle.
They don't miss tackles.
So that's that's why the Colts, our defense is what they are.
Yeah, and obviously it's going to be a good one.
And I mean, the Packers, when the people first thing with the Packers, they're going to think about the offense.
They're going to think of Aaron Rodgers.
They're going to think of Davante Adams.
Eso I mean, one of the I mean, I think the Packers right now have been the last time I checked.
They were a top 10 offense.
I think their defense is just outside of the top 10.
Big factors, probably the run defense, but they have a strong secondary.
I think the Colts have a strong and up and coming secondary, but the Jerry Great edition is a great one.
In my opinion, I think it's the They also said well just one thing.
I'd like to plug one video that I have out yourself if you don't mind your Packers.
I just released this past Wednesday my Davante Adams film room for this year.
All right, hey, came out and was asked, You know about being the number one And he said, I'm the number one receiver in the NFL and I got a film room on him and that is on my channel here on SportsCastr and on YouTube.
Feel free to go check that out.
I dove in just about every game this year.
Pick out a play, showed what he does really good, what he provides.
And there is something that I found that I think Davante Adams really, really lax.
And I'd like to see him do more of Yeah, I think one of the things that people that definitely stands, I think he's one of, if not the best route runner in the NFL.
Um, I he's really moved up for me, especially, especially off the snap.
Oh, yeah, Oh, absolutely.
And one of the things he's really moved up for me because going into the season I said he was top five.
Andi, I I put him over.
Julio Julio is playing very well this year.
Um, had Michael Thomas over him.
But now I've got that, too.
And I do think about that.
I think DeAndre Hopkins on a whole other whole new level.
I thought for sure that Davante Adams after his game against Houston.
We get 34 touchdowns started.
Make that case closer.
But no, I mean, I think Hopkins is on a whole another level.
He's like, Oh, look at this game that I'm playing.
I'm doing a really good job over here for Green Bay and then all of a sudden, Hopkins like, hold my beer.
Three other people three.
Get like a zehr like like those air Very George employer.
Michael Heidstra, Davis White like two of like, sure, Davis, what is the top three Corner high doesn't elite safety that goes very unnoticed.
Jordan employers, a very well known and that also goes unnoticed.
Like three elite players on DeAndre Hopkins captures, it almost looks like with these contested catch, Um, that dudes, on a whole another level, Kyler, Murray and DeAndre happens that is going to be a duo for years and years to come.
but yeah, I mean, definitely.
