of backstop banter we missed last week cause we had a lot of draft coverage going on, Had a big draft show, so make sure you haven't checked that out.
I was the commissioner.
You know what? I'm not the commissioner of the unwrapped sports mock draft.
I do this stuff on the side, you know? So I was a little busy that day.
Of course, the mock draft was MBA.
So just so you guys know this? Yeah, It was an MBA mock draft.
So what? I'm not the n b a commissioner.
I do this on the side.
You know, Blitz boys on Mondays.
You know, just just a little extra cash you can't afford, You know, nice hair like this with bad product.
So you gotta make sure that I got everything down and look what's going on.
Guys, if you've been watching your show any you can actually see Connie's almost about to get connected here with this mustache and beard.
I'm very profitable.
Listen, if anybody has any products that they can put your boy onto, I've been trying to grow.
I would pay money to have a beard like Michael.
So you guys let s you guys living Anybody's got products out there because Alex said he was gonna get me a product once and then bailed on me.
So I don't like Alex anymore.
And if anyone knows the connection that we could get a sponsor, that would be great to listen.
Yeah, we could get that Or listen, I say this every time I drink about 85.
Arnold Palmer's a day eso if we can get you know, I mean no exaggeration whatsoever in that number, not a single one got I go through six gallons a day, But if Arnold Palmer, you know, watching this one, you know, just throw over some free products or, you know, anything like that that's fine with me.
But like, what's got into business here? And while we might be trying to get sponsors, we already have sponsors.
So what, we're gonna dio that's right.
Under the sports network, we have sponsors and we've got to pay those guys there.
We gotta we gotta pay the bills.
And, you know, if I look a little distracted tonight, it's because I possibly am.
Because, of course, I have my book.
You got a G and I've used a promo code U S M 100 to double my first deposit up $2000.
So if you haven't done that, make sure you dio I might have some prop bets on this, uh, way to signal game.
Did you say that you made a deposit and they matched up to 200 or $2000 or that's your, uh, they they double your first deposit up to 1000 dollars.
I thought you said that they doubled my deposit off $2000.
Dang, listen, I don't have a chip in on that mom and Dad's capable.
They're a little bit.
Yeah, I don't I don't have money like that.
I am. I'm like what Josh is saying here.
I don't have Alex money, So e, I'm not there yet.
I'm working my way there, but yeah, of course.
You know what? I will if he's Propst are hidden in my parlay.
So make sure you go check out my book.
He got a G use promo code 700.
And then you know what? I might have to get involved in this next one because I don't know what it is, but I am sore like you wouldn't believe on my shoulder, so I might have to head on over to our X happened use promo code are exempt.
Dash us and to save myself 10% off my order.
Because let me tell you something, I I need to do something.
I don't know what it is, but I gotta work tomorrow.
And I gotta lift some, you know, boxes for, you know, because you know, people need their fresh produce eso I might have to head on over there, but I know we pay the bills with that, and we run through that.
But guys, we really are very thankful for our ex hemp and my bookie, not just for the backstop banter that we get to do but unwrapped Sports Network, or we get so many different shows.
We're very thankful for that and just want to give them a shout out of very appreciative on that.
As as we said right now, we people use these things that we all know that we're all associated with.
So do you have any questions? You know, head up people in unwrapped, and I'm sure that they will be you know, happy Thio.
Uh, answer anything you need.
Todo I'm excited.
I'm supposed to be getting some cream, I think from Perry.
More or less Like a promo to test out.
And let me tell you where I work.
Actually work a tractor supply If you ever heard of that.
I think we're a little national.
We got one right here.
Okay, Right here.
But today I threw and I kid you not.
No exaggeration, like 85.
Arnold Palmer's there, but I probably through at least £2000 in horse and chicken feet today.
And I kid you not. I'm not exaggerating.
So my back is actually hurting tonight.
I try to get my wife to pop my back, and it just looked more like she was just kind of sitting on my back, but, you know, that's okay, Theo.
Effort was there, but the cream would probably be a little bit better.
So, Harry, Alex, help me out here, man.
Seeing that on over, you know, feel free to send me some, too, because, you know, like I said, Alice has money to blow, so that's right. Yeah.
So make sure you want you just feel free.
He bought me this.
Michael's a big Michael's big Steelers fan all of a sudden, but, Michael, let's get into what the people want some baseball communications here between me and you.
We'll start it off here because they were handed out last week, and obviously we're gonna talk about them.
Before we had the big MBA mock draft.
But the Cy Young and MVP award were handed out for the MLB season.
I think that it kind of went the way that we expected.
Maybe not on the A L M v p side, at least for May.
With the way it finished.
Trevor Bauer, your beloved Cincinnati Red won the Cy Young Award for at least 60 games.
Yeah, um, gosh, now I can't think of the who won in the Shane Bieber.
Shane Baber wanted in the a l.
He had a fantastic season, even though I just forgot his name.
Hey, played unbelievable.
And then over on the n l m v P side, it was Freddie Freeman.
And on the a l M v p side, it was Jose a brave you of the White Sox.
Now I don't really have any, you know, problems with any of these.
I think everybody is deserving.
I think it's my only thing was with how well LeMay who played this year, and I mean, I don't know if I'm gonna be a Yankee homer right now. Whatever.
Blah, blah, blah.
But I cannot believe he finished third in the M V P voting, and he only got one first place vote.
Yeah, I was a little surprised at that.
And honestly, I didn't even know the boy until you and I start talking because you're a Yankee fan and just kind of observing them a little more so we could have some more feedback talking back forth.
I mean, he had a great season this year.
I mean, the power was very surprising.
I didn't think he had that power, so yeah, we'll probably talk a little more about him.
And a little later in this this, uh, you know what, Michael? I have I have a trivia question for you right now, because this is like, this is like it should be Pete Rose.
But this is like the best trivia question for all the baseball fans out there.
Or if you wanna win? Win a little money on you playing trivia.
Michael, can you tell me the last switch hitter to win in M.
Award? When? Because if you know, the last switch hitter toe win an M. V P Award.
Because if Jose Ramirez of the Indians wanted this year, it would have been the first switch hitter M v p since this person.
But do you know who it is? Uh, have no clue.
Just be honest with you have no clue.
And listen, I don't blame you, because my first guess I was thinking, you know, making man or something of that.
It is vital Blue.
Who, actually who? Actually, this is why it messes everybody up was a picture, but actually was also a switch hitter.
So he was the last person.
I don't know why, you know.
Okay. We gotta hate on me over here. Candle.
He was saying He's saying you're the last switch hitter.
You know, I wish I could switch here.
I really dio now.
He probably doesn't need to make fun of you because you missed that.
Swept it up for you.
So I don't think I don't think he was.
I don't think he was saying it was May I really don't like this can over again. Look at this.
What are you doing? What we doing here, Caleb? As long as you're just hitting that button like crazy getting all those hearts pop up on Twitter, we don't know what your top.
So just keep a retweet something like that.
Anything out there? But yeah, it blew.
So if anybody ever wants to win, you know, a little money playing trivia, you know, my name and my name in here. I mean, that's fine.
I mean, Ali only did you get first and last name? You got our last name again? Dolly.
What is this guy's name? No.
Yeah, but I mean, the worst kind of went their way.
I think Friedman absolutely deserved it.
Over on the outside, he played like an absolute monster this year.
And then I don't think you really could make an argument for anybody other than Trevor Bauer with Cy Young on.
And, you know, maybe earlier on in the season, you could have uh huh way.
Caleb, I just had you on a guest.
I just had you on as a guest for Blitz Boys on Monday, and I got no off.
I'm just gonna say this, like Caleb's picture on his Twitter right here that's popped up.
Would not have ever recognized that with him.
Like he looks like he's about to kill someone like he is a hit man.
Very, very professional hitman.
And then I got and then I got mad in here with the king.
Connie. See, this is the type of support I need.
And Michael, you wouldn't expect him to look like that.
Because when he hops on the lives is very frat boy like, you know, he is not a frat.
He is past frat.
He's frat boy president they're making a movie about.
Okay, that happens.
Thank you, Wise cheese Commissioner.
Kati, We'll get rid of it.
Yeah, Michael, you get you get some love to make sure you gotta love.
Like what? You want to lead us into our our next talk, then Oh, snap.
Let me bring it up.
We're just sitting here rambling a little bit.
Uh, Michael Come on.
What are we doing? No, I know. I apologize.
So we've talked about her Cy Youngs and then what I wanted to talk about, I wanted it first.
Do it a different way for it than what we have planned out.
I want to read some stats and I want you to tell me, Is this guy going to be a Hall of Famer or if comes up short? All right, Here we g 08 time All Star second baseman, has won five silver sluggers to Golden Gloves on All Star Game.
M V P and I can't read that part and a World Series ring.
He's a career 303 hitter with 2624 hits, 571 doubles, 334 homers and 1302 r B I's with 1257 runs.
Does that sound like some great stats or do you think that may come up short? And I'm just going to say who this could be after you answer? Of course.
What do you think? I you know, I do know who it is.
Stats and everything like that because it is Listen, is on the Google doc.
And let me tell you something for the people we'll tell you who were talking about.
Yeah, it's Robinson Cano who I am very familiar with, because, of course, he was a former Yankee.
And those I think those numbers would get him into the Hall of Fame.
But I know exactly where you're going with this next point.
So obviously MLB world, you guys know that he just got busted, I guess.
For P E DS on this is his second offense and one thing I'm interested in, and this is kind of like a two part as we go on to it is he's suspended for next year.
Also, it has said that it's been he's six. I'm sorry.
Suspended for 162 games.
I thought it was interesting to see that.
They added that on another one that I've seen because next year what if it's another 60 games? Will he be suspended for two years if it goes like that, or is it just one season? So that was something I thought was interesting, how they put their roids, you know, Okay, let's picture.
He looks like he's on some roids over there to look at that necklace.
But so I think I think the numbers say, Hall of Fame.
But to two cases of being on these, what's your opinion on that? And then I'm gonna run something else by it because I think I know your answers and it's gonna leave me up here.
I think I think, too.
It's the French Royds. I'm sorry.
It's the frat roids.
That's what it is.
I think the two ped suspension kills him.
I think one, it's still probably does Don't get me wrong, but it would have been a better chance to get in.
I think with two chances you have, there's absolutely no shot that he makes all fame. Now.
You kind of look the same thing with Alex Rodriguez.
If he never does anything, he's absolutely a Hall of Famer.
The home runs hits everything like that.
He was a great player.
The one suspension kind of hurt him.
It did definitely for sure.
And then, you know, he kind of re build himself up a little bit, got back to doing what he did on that second suspension, It was kind of like up here we go again, and it kind of really just really just kills any opportunity you have for, ah, Hall of Fame career.
You look at people like Barry Bonds, obviously, McGwire, Sammy.
So is everybody of that Roger Clemens.
Everybody of that, you know, steroid era type of situation.
They're just not getting the votes.
And I don't know, it's weird.
It really is kind of weird because obviously with our age difference, it kind of makes sense in the baseball vote.
Listen, Michael, don't act like we're, you know, don't act on your wow.
We're not 20 years old here.
We're not 20 way that actually I am.
Well, doubled comes to carry three, but it's weird with my generation.
It's really weird because I still look at it as they took steroids.
They shouldn't get in, but if you look on Twitter or things like that, there's a lot of people my age there like who cares on then you as you start kind of start getting like older and the older demographic and things like that.
Like people past your age, everything like that.
Like really like baseball, I guess.
I don't know What are the word to say, the old heads, which is what my what I say for people.
Let's just go with hard heads about that hard head.
Yeah, we'll go with that, too.
And they're the ones.
Yeah, they're the ones that kind of say absolutely not.
And those are the ones that are voting for the Hall of Fame right now.
So I'm almost kind of curious as I mean, obviously in the tent, because I think you're on the battle for 10 years unless you don't get like, I think you need, like, 10% of the vote to stay on every year.
So if you don't get that, you obviously get off the about.
But then you can be put back on and like some different type of class the Baseball Hall of Fame, voting and Hall of Fame voting for every sports.
Kind of weird to me sometimes.
But I'm kind of curious as to see what happens to these guys when my generation is the one voting for them, because right now, like I said, I don't think they have a chance because it's it's the baseball Masters.
As Matt said, I don't know what word we wanna go with here, but it's those people that are like, absolutely not.
You messed up the numbers.
You did this. You did that.
You cheated that blah, blah.
And then, like I said, with my generation is kind of like, yeah, yeah, but he was good anyway.
And you know what brings even up the conversation is Cano.
So let me start off by going there.
I think that the two cases, Yes, he does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
So then I'm gonna go on over to Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa.
Who? Everyone, If you know anything about baseball, you know that scandal of yourself.
I always felt like Mark McGwire was more of a cheater than Sammy Sosa, but I also felt like Barry Bonds was more of a cheater than Mark McGwire.
Why, I don't know.
I don't want me.
Oh, and there's I mean, they did the exact same thing.
I think it's the name value.
That's that's what I was kind of getting to cause can.
No, it doesn't really bother me so much.
that he's been tested positive for, ah, some type of ped as's faras.
Like if it was Aaron judge, if Judge would have been tested or we'll say Stanton, because that's a home run hitter king right now as well.
So I would have been like, Oh, wow, of course he's hitting these home runs.
But then Cano, who's pretty older now, isn't he? Yeah, he's e think he's like, maybe he's like, 36.
I can actually like 39 but I don't think it's that I could look it up real quick, but I don't I don't know if I continue as you were saying, Yeah, you're looking about.
So I feel like, sadly enough, the p e d.
S can actually not that Well, it's pretty close.
Did you s Oh, well, close.
I was over if it was different.
You when I'm over others.
So I feel like that can take a factor as well.
But now here's my real kicker on this.
Okay, So you're saying right now if he has two cases, which he does, he does not get it So what if he retires right now? So technically, he doesn't have to do any of the suspension of the second one, so it doesn't really can.
Still, I think it's still too positive Tests like, you know, I think it's no matter what.
Because then, even if he didn't want to come back, he probably never could because they had that suspension, you know, over his head.
I think is the positive test thing that gets people I don't know if it's actually serving it like you could have.
I think there was.
Honestly, I think there was somebody that did that.
I don't know If it was, it might have been in the NFL.
Somebody tested positive for PDS.
They retired and they're like no whatever and then they came back.
But they still had to serve the four game suspension.
So they did that and they started playing again.
I honestly don't think it's because serving the suspension.
I think it's the fact in the back of everybody's head like you tested positive.
The number one thing that they don't really tell or at least I haven't seen, is when did he test positive.
I mean, obviously it has to be recently or otherwise.
It would have been punished during the season.
So, like, was this season completely over? Or and like, he just got tested now during, like, the off season, the winter season that they call it? Well, that's the thing they do get tested, you know, year round.
So season, offseason, whatever.
And I was listening to the Michael Kay Show, and he was and he was talking, saying, You know, maybe he's taking because they were kind of arguing back and forth like, how dumb can you be like, Why are you Why would you be taking the PDS now? Like you're not even in season? And his thought process was kind of There's that, you know, maybe some of these people that take P. E.
D. S in the off season.
They're doing it to build themselves up during the off season so they can stop in season when they know they're gonna be tested regularly.
I mean, here's the thing, too, though you know you're getting tested no matter what.
It's not like it's kind of a surprise thing where it's random.
I'm pretty sure it will be Players know when they're getting tested.
So I mean, this is probably gonna end up being my rant at the end of the show anyway, so I won't go too much into it, But it's just it's just a stupid situation, and you know that.
But, you know, that's what he was saying.
He thought, you know, maybe they're doing it because in the off season you could do it, build yourself up, and then by the time the season starts, you can stop it, clean out your system, and then, you know, just continue on with what you have to dio and see Another thing, if it to me.
Anyways, if it was during the off season, I could see him making the Hall of Fame because he did not have PDS any during the season to help fabricate any of the stats or having more power, anything like that.
So I could actually see if it was that saying, Hey, I cheated during the off season because I'm getting known.
I wanna have an edge.
I got caught, so I'm quitting before anything is affected.
I could see like Okay, he's trying to be a true man and one time and I cannot remember the team.
I want to say it was one of my teams either Dallas Cowboys or Cincinnati Reds.
I can't remember who it was, but it's been a few years back.
They got tested positive for a ped.
I'm sorry, this has not up there, but it was actually because he and his wife were trying to get pregnant and whatever medicine he was taken to try to help.
That actually popped up on the test and was a red flag and said, Okay, that's cheating.
So if you could pop up and say, Hey, we've got something like that going on I'm done with the sport.
I think it will be okay And I think it doesn't hurt him and he and he could still be in the Hall of Fame.
So it was weird way, though I feel like it, it still doesn't even matter because, like for May, I've heard things like that, you know? And you know, people will come up with excuses for anything.
I've heard some funny stuff.
I can't remember who it waas ah couple of years ago got suspended for PDS and they were like, Yeah, well, it's because I went down toe, you know, Uh, like the Dominican Republic like that.
And I had a steak and they use different preservatives in their meat.
And that's what tested positive.
Like I've looked like, you know, MLB NFL players will come up with anything that, actually, you know, try to get out of things.
And, you know, I'm not saying that the person who was trying to get pregnant, whatever is doing that or even what Robinson Cano was doing because we don't know, I don't know.
I don't know if they actually released, you know what it technically was, but and it's weird because there's there are different types of steroids.
Like there's the, you know, the ones that do kind of like help you broke up.
But I remember and, you know, once again going back to being Yankee fan.
But Andy Pettitte got busted.
However, long ago it was his PDS was mawr toe help heal himself.
It was he was trying to get over an injury, and that's what he was doing to try to get through it faster.
So it wasn't so much of a bulking thing.
You know, try to get stronger so I can hit 80 you know, 800 ft home runs.
It was more of Ah, you know, my shoulders messed up.
Let me try to take this and maybe help me get back on the field faster.
So there's different situations, you know, Maybe if they were end up releasing what it was, it could help him. It could hurt him.
I don't know, but I think to right, I think to, you know, positive tests just absolutely killed his chance, which I hate because, like I said, I loved him on the Yankees.
Watching him play was amazing.
I remember when they let him go as a free agent, he signed with the Marlins how annoyed I was.
I was like, How can you let Cano go? Well, it's looking like a pretty good good deal now because I believe he still has two more years on his contract.
The Yankees were offering seven years at the time, so the Marlins came in and said, Hey, listen, not Marlins.
The uh, Mariners said that they would give him the 10 years, and since then he's moved on to the Mets, but I guess it's a great deal.
But then again, that same off season, we went out and signed.
That was very so I don't know.
It really was a good deal.
All right, So, uh, I feel like we've talked all that.
We can really talk on that.
So let's go ahead and change gear a little bit with transition into what I'm going Thio hit you with a few things and I want to hear your bold prediction we're gonna go with with some free agency here.
We've got a few listed out, and we've kind of talked with a little bit at him, but I've kind of gave a a broad, I guess not.
We'll go with a broad prediction, and I want you to narrow down who you think this this player is may sign with.
Okay, so every deal bound, I feel like you remember that show deal deal or no deal with, uh So, as everyone knows, I'm a Reds fan orderly, if you should know where you're not watching our show at all, but and I feel like he is the top guy right now, Cy Young winner plus, also with his YouTube and just social media and how he presents himself.
He is my opinion in the face of baseball right now with Trevor Bauer.
My bold predictions rarely, and then I'm gonna give it to I actually think he's going to sign with.
What team do you think he's going to sign for? I've got possible teams, the Red signing back with him because he's actually said how he actually enjoyed baseball this year.
I actually think he could sign with the Padres, and then also the Mets are my three.
Any of those who you think yes or who is your straight up, big, bold pick on him? I, you know, I think I'm gonna go No e.
I wish we could use another picture, but that's just too much money in that luxury tax.
I've said this many times before, and I'll probably say it again for somebody on this list.
I'm gonna go with the Mets.
I think I think, with Cohen coming in with all of the money he has, they have some smart baseball people there with Sandy Alderson and I I don't know.
I think home is gonna come in and while he's not gonna, you know, spend, spend, spend and do all this Because listen, if you really wanted to, we could have a $500 million payroll, got every good player in baseball and say, Listen, I'll double your salary with, you know, whatever he's doing, But I think he could, you know, go for the Mets, especially with Cano being suspended now that freeze off $24 million for them.
And you know, there's obviously some other pieces that they need, but I I think he ends up signing with the Mets.
I don't know if it's I kind of want to see it, too, because I think him to Graham.
And eventually when Syndergaard comes back is, you know, just deadly.
And then, you know, I remember we talked about on the last show Marcus Strom, and actually did accept his qualifying offer, which was about, I think, $18.
So yeah, so he's back.
So if they have those four, and if the Mets can score **** near 44 runs a game, which is terrible in baseball, they could be a serious problem, because if you could name me three better starting pitchers, then the Grand Bauer and Syndergaard when he comes back.
And if he's, you know, pitching like he did before.
Have fun, because I really can't find one.
Okay, I'm my pick is I feel like he may go with the Padres.
I want him to sign back with the Reds.
I have the Mets in there because here in a second, you'll figure out why.
But I do think he will go with the Padres just because he's been tweeting quite a bit about them A little.
Uh, I'll say, passive aggressive, and he's talked about how much he wants to compete Now.
Now I will say this as far as the Mets, I think it's right up his personality.
I'm going to be me and be a prick and say what I want to, and I'm in New York when everyone thinks it's gonna be the Yankees.
And no, it's me and my team, the Mets.
We're gonna basically say this is our city now, so I think it would be totally fit on that Sorry Yankee fan.
So moving on to the next one and guys.
I will go ahead and apologize.
I'm no good with these names.
Um, from the south.
I'm Eastern Kentucky.
Yes. You can already hear my accent.
I'm going to try my best.
And Connie, you should have heard him with the N b A players which there were some crazy ones with the international players there.
But I can't do The international can't do it.
So my next player who I feel like it's the second top free agency is really Muto.
Did I say that right, J t Realmuto.
I'm gonna try to say it really fast and at confident, but I was close with that.
Who is another player that the Reds has been in in contact with trying to push for the past two years to sign? I think last year, actually, with her play at center at catcher, we're not going to be pushing for it.
But some teams that I feel would be a great fit for him is the Angels, the Yankees, the Mets and the Phillies.
Who do you think he signs with yourself? Of course, you doesn't have to be those teams, but those were just some teams that I've been hearing around, so but honestly, if I have always to pick teams, it would be out of those. Anyway.
I think this is killer to because, like I said, if Cohen wants to spend money, he would and God do.
The Mets need to catch her like they're catching.
Is absolutely terrible, like they can't go into the season without doing something. I catch her.
So from a needs standpoint, I would want him to go there because I think it fills a need.
And I think the Mets need that the most.
I could see him going back to Philly, though.
What? Listen, I would love to see him go to the Angels as well, I guess.
I guess picking, though I say he re signs with the Phillies.
I don't know why. Phillies.
That's very bold, man.
That's very bold.
I love Listen, I'm not I'm not positive.
If if, like I said, though, Cohen really wants to spend his money, I'd probably, you know, go after this one because like I said, the Mets catching is bad.
But, you know, I'll go with the Phillies.
Why not? Well, here's me.
Uh, My first two picks are Mawr Heart than gut.
So I feel like he may go to the Padres as Faras Bauer.
I feel like I want J T.
To go to Theeighties JAL's because Mike Trout love Mike Trout needs some help.
Who holes getting old, But he can d h at least still.
So I want him to go to the Angels.
But I'll be honest with you.
I pause when we're talking about Bauer on this because with even Cano, if he retires or they don't have to pay him for the next year, that's like $18 million that they're gonna have extra now.
So they're gonna have some extra money to spend here.
So if they could get Bauer and J.
T T J J t to commit to that, I mean, if you could get Bauer, how could you not have a least a big chance to talk into this catcher Say, Hey, listen, you're a catcher.
We suck it catching, But look at her pictures.
You're gonna be catching all star pitchers.
That's looking pretty nice.
And he's got the money to spend.
He's not been affected by Cove it at all.
I can think, Colin, right? So I mean, I feel like the perfect Storm is the Mets is gonna be really good right here with one to signing right there on free agency.
So that's what my gut singing.
But I don't want it to be right.
Knicks George Springer totally can say that name. That's pretty good.
Hey or something.
So as far as even bleacher Report's, um, MLB talked some of the predicts that they think he may sign with his Blue Jays, White Sox and Brewers are there.
Three, Of course, with Brian Braun.
We don't really know what's going to go on there.
He could be of the outfielder, their blue Jays just struggling as well.
On the White Sox, of course, is the White Sox go? Uh, you know, I think I think I could see him going to the Blue Jays.
There's such, like, you know, a young team.
They obviously have a lot of, you know, second generation players over there with Guerrero Jr.
And you know, obviously all the people like that, they have a pretty, ah, pretty solid left fielder right now, I believe you was.
And he might have went in the Rookie of the Year contention this year.
I don't I can't remember what his name is at the moment.
But if you could bring in somebody like Springer who's been, you know, pretty solid over over these past few years, I would like to see that, you know, just a little bit of a leadership there in in the and in the young clubhouse.
But I think that I think the Blue is would be a pretty solid fit.
I actually have them signing with white socks, though.
Just feel like that money.
They've got money.
But see, and I don't understand this.
I don't know if it's because I'm a part of the baseball Masters generation, but, like everyone is bad mouth and LaRussa.
I mean, yeah, he got a D u I the day before you signed, but I'm sure they probably knew about it when they signed him.
But, ah, lot of people were just talking about how old he is and how he's not ****ytical with baseball, and we've already had that rant Day one that ****ytics are ruining, uh, baseball. Sorry.
Gotta Carlos Hyde update.
He's on my fantasy team.
Had to check that out real quick.
But so I mean, Tony's got a couple of rings, I think from ST Louis and maybe one somewhere else.
I can't remember.
Maybe they're both with ST Louis, but so I mean, he knows how toe win.
So I think this dude can take care.
I mean, he has some age.
I'm sure he's gonna get some guys who can on a staff that can handle the younger players and try to get in with his ****ytical a little bit.
But I feel like this is their splurge here.
You're getting a Springer, a pretty well named person who could come into your franchise and hopefully be your leader, who you need on there.
So I feel like the White Sox is who I'm gonna pick with his mom.
Forget that thing.
I got the I got the mic in here.
I'm afraid I'm gonna hit it from Dio.
Okay, let's see here. Erin.
I'm gonna try on this d j.
Let Mayhew or No, no, no, no.
Yeah, you're right. Stop right there. stop right there. You're good.
OK, Jalen, make you my boy.
You because I always wanted to say who.
But it's Hugh, right? Yes, sir.
And there's a difference.
Okay, so a lot of people are saying again, Blue Jays, even the Angels, the Nats and the Yankees.
I'm gonna go ahead before you're the homer.
I feel like that.
He could even take a little less for the Yankees because he seems like that guy that's committed.
I mean, if you can play in New York, you can play in New York.
I think he takes a little less money than what some other teams offering.
And I think he signs back to the Yankees.
Man, I hope you're right.
God, I hope you're right.
I saw I saw something today from one of the fan pages that I follow for the Yankees.
That our reporters said that No, this is now the Yankees number one.
Offseason priority is resigning, D J.
So I'm hoping that they're absolutely right, because, like I said, I love I would love him back on the TV is probably, if not definitely the most pure hitter on our team.
You know, maybe in baseball, you can hit the ball over the field.
You can't shift for him like you can for every other player who just either polls or or does whatever they have to dio.
And once again, I'm going to say this because I feel like I have to and, you know, I also reading just a lot of reports.
Especially now, with Cano being suspended.
I've seen a lot of reports that say, You know, it's gonna It's a bidding war between Yankees and Mets now for for where d.
J goes, and obviously I'm hoping he stays with the Yankees.
But listen, like I said with the 24 million off of the books because of, you know, being suspended, it would definitely make sense for the for the Mets to bring him in because he stirs up their defense a lot.
He's a great hitter, and offense is definitely something that they need, you know, to get up on their team.
They've they've been struggling with that, you know, in recent years.
And if they can end up getting him putting him at second base, they already have their shortstop with the Med Rosario, they Pete Alonso At first, uh, I think Todd Frazier's their third ba*****t right now, but I think they will upgrade that.
I think he got traded back to them last year.
I don't want to say I've seen something that he was playing first base now, where they were trying to convert someone.
You know, Peter Lanza was their first ba*****t.
That I know s so I don't I don't know. I don't know.
We'll see what happens with that.
But I think I think it's gonna end up coming down to the Yankees, you know, probably the Mets.
Because, like I said, they have money to spend now and, uh, you know, yeah, maybe.
Maybe, like you said, I have heard the Blue Jays, so I'm hoping that one doesn't happen because having to face him all those times, it's not gonna be fun.
And we're getting We're already past 35 or up to 35 minutes, 15 to 11.
So we've got a couple more names on here.
We'll just do one more and we'll skip the rest of these.
And I'm gonna try to say this is Marcel Ozuna.
Did a fantastic You're doing great here.
Braves, Reds, Brewers, Nats.
Who do you think he signs back with? Or books? I guess you kind of just heard who I don't think he's going to sign with.
Who do you think he's going to sign with? I honestly what team? What team he just played for this area was the Braves Braves.
Oh, yeah, Braves. Oh, my gosh.
Um, honestly, I could see him resigning them.
He's on the team that put the Reds out.
Yeah, well, I think the Red's hitters put themselves out, but hitters e could definitely see him resigning with the Braves.
But I would love and I mean love to see him play with the Nationals, tohave Ozuna and and Juan Soto in the outfield.
I mean, I know I was gonna d h this year, but I believe he was an outfielder before.
I think that's what he played for the Marlins.
I would love to see that combination, so I don't know how bold it really is because I haven't seen too many reports of what he is doing this year or, you know, like what the speculation of where he's gonna go is.
But if the nationals are on that list.
I hope he does go there because I think that would be a very, very fun fit for everybody.
I mean, that would be nice to or the White Sox.
And I really just said the White Sox to try to feed you into your next transition.
Well, you know, I think I think he's in time with the white, so I think he's got the time of the White Sox times.
We've never been more confident before.
I don't know why.
The White Sox What's been going on there? Yeah, apparently just their manager doesn't know what a taxi is because Tony LaRussa has now been hit with her second DUI.
And you know, like you said before that, I'm sure that they probably knew about this.
But it's just not a great look, obviously, for for a for somebody, that was already kind of question, being hired in today's world with all the ****ytics.
Like you said Andi, everybody trying to be player friendly now and things like that in the d.
I just isn't a great look.
So I thought, you know, we should We should throw that out there.
I mean, there isn't too much to technically, you know, discuss on the matter because, you know, you know, just listening things, too.
The owner of the White Sox is the person who push for this higher inside the White Sox.
Oh, God. Did I freeze? No.
Oh, my screen went black.
What? We'll look at my phone, so you might have blacked out, But I heard you.
Uh, fine, that's that's fine with me.
But I'm the only one that leaves mid show.
Just Yeah, you gotta exit stage left.
But well, you know, like I said, the owner is the one who made the higher, you know, inside of the White Sox.
It was kind of head scratching, and people were upset with the with it.
But he said, you know, screwed.
I want my guy and he went out and got him.
So I don't think he's in trouble of losing his job because of the of the d. O Y.
Maybe if you know, they had a losing record or something like that.
He had been there a few years and he was already on the hot seat.
This could be their final excuse to let him go.
But I think the fact that he just got hired definitely saves him.
And I think, but, you know, here's here's the other really bad look for him.
And I hate when people pull this.
Did you hear the Did you see the transcript of when he got pulled over? Mhm.
The first thing he says, you know, he's getting arrested or all that ball, But he goes, Do you know who I am? Really? We're gonna pull.
We're gonna pull one of these like that.
That stuff annoys man, and it's it's stuff like that that always makes me think to everything way.
Can't say that. No.
Well, yeah, but backstop banter.
What are you doing? You don't know who Connie chats is crossover? Oh, now this.
But it just makes me always think to like, how many times have you said that in your life and gotten away? Because because, you know, that's what I'm saying, because that's the first thing you thought off that means is definitely worked before and in the back of my head.
That's like, Oh my God, what else have you done but gotten away with because you are who you are.
So this is something he just got caught in.
I'm really curious to see the things he's gotten away with because I'm sure that, you know, it's definitely work before he's probably got now to some sticky situations.
I would say that the cop that pulled him over and gave him the ticket was probably a Cardinals fan and actually knew him.
And he's like, Yeah, I know who you are and you are now with white socks, so you're also an idiot.
I'm gonna have to write you a ticket or he was a White Sox fan because technically, it was the day before he got hired, right? So I guess he was a White Sox fan.
I don't know if it was the day before he got hired.
What happened? I knew what I what got reported then, but I knew it happened earlier, so I'm sure he I mean, not I shouldn't say.
Sure, I'm hoping he told them, because if that's kind of just something that gets thrown on your desk after you had a meeting, because I'm sure in the meeting they asked, you know, is there anything else that might come out blah.
And if that's like and he's like, fine and then you know that comes across your desk, The point exactly.
And then that comes across your desk.
It might be, might be a bad situation for you.
Now I would say this.
I don't think his seat is hot like he's about to be fired.
But I do think it warms it up some.
Oh, yeah, I think I think with this.
And then all of a sudden, if you go out, I have a losing record after you just made the playoffs like yeah, like, honestly, I think the 1st 20 games, Well, it depends on how big this season is, But if it's if it's 160 games, I think the 1st 20 seasons 1st 20 games.
If they're like under 500 pretty low.
I think they say, Okay, we made the wrong choice.
You already got a D u I.
You just aren't clicking with these guys.
Is that fair? No, but it is what it is.
You. I listen. Optics are thing no.
So speaking of ****ytic ALS and everything else, Theo Epstein, Epstein Epstein in it.
It's stained. Probably.
We don't have these crazy names.
We got like corn.
It, you know, Gross Lawson.
That's the names We got around here much easier, but just stepped down with the Cubs.
I don't even think he's really been there more than like, what, Five years at the most? Maybe I don't think it's been that long like too long, so I don't know.
Yeah, so I mean, he's definitely the guy that turned the team around, and of course, they're struggling now.
But he's already stepped out, so that's something very big that's going on right now.
I have been reading some articles where he's actually being called by some other teams.
I can't remember at the top of my head it right now.
He won't be free for long, I'll tell you that.
No, no, absolutely not.
I think probably within the next two weeks, he's getting offers or it's just him taking his time thinking, Hey, let me see what team I want to go to, So that's pretty great.
Hey, definitely turned.
He's the guy that came from Boston.
What he Yeah, he turned the Red Sox around, broke their curse.
Turn The Cubs around broke their curse.
Hey, listen, go over to the Indians, breaking Mother one and then retire.
If you could bring three curses, I'm retiring.
So this dude is a a very hot item that's out there right now.
So, yeah, I would like to see him go to the Angels.
Because I feel like the eyes, a great team that just can't get over the hump like I love Mike Trout.
That's all I can say.
I love Mike Trout.
He is player in baseball.
I've hated the past, like five or six years of baseball just because they're like Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper and the dude doesn't even back like 2 50.
And you've got Mike Trout that says nothing just plays the game, right.
Plays all out in his phenomenal dude, baby and still e think this year was the first time he's been out of the top three and voting in like the last five years.
But he had a baby this year.
I know absolutely no.
My trial is head and shoulders above anybody else.
I don't care what anybody says.
Obviously, the new obviously The new hot ticket is Mookie Betts because of the M V p.
And then they won the World Series this year.
Don't care, right? It's still Mike Trout.
That is absolutely So.
Do you have any predictions you wanna throw in about him Where he may go? Theo? Not not Mike Trout.
Please go to the red somehow.
Uh, like, you know, I I wouldn't be mad.
I could see the angels.
Uh, you look at it.
Money is gonna be there.
You if maybe if they don't want to spend money, does.
You know, does Oakland kind of try to bring him in and some type of way? Obviously, I know that they have a well established person over there, but, you know, do you bring him in for assistance? I don't know.
It's, you know, because he's he might be a type of person that you look at your gm and say, Yeah, you've been all right.
But I can get this guy.
You know what I mean? It's It's kind of like, uh, listen.
I mean, like you said, he's switched Boston around to make them relevant.
He switched the Cubs around to win a World Series after 100 year hiatus.
This dude is Michael Jordan of G M E.
Don't care who you got.
If you could get him to come to your team, you're probably gonna say I'm sorry, but we've improved.
It's like the Mark Jackson Steve Kerr of the ST Mark.
Jackson got him to the playoffs and they were good as a coach.
GM not obviously not.
And they make the switch and and say, Okay, you've taken as far as you could take us.
We're getting Hill, which is crazy because Steve Curry never coach.
But yet he did it so that he knows.
I mean, I could see it going anywhere.
Really? I don't Yeah, I think.
I think obviously there's some spots that, like you just can't see him going.
You know, he's not going to Yankees.
Yeah, you know, like the Yankees.
He's obviously not going to because they have Brian Cashman.
He obviously wouldn't go toe Boston because I'm pretty sure they just hired in the GM last season there.
You know, there's the teams like that, but, you know, it will be interesting to see where he goes.
And speaking of G.
M's, though, thing is a very, very cool thing.
You know, something that I thought I would I would throw in there.
But the Miami Marlins hired the first female GM in the history off the four major American sports, and I thought that that would, you know, just be a kind of a cool thing.
Her name is Name is Kim Ang, and I know I don't know.
I just think it's cool because, you know, there's always those stupid like It literally annoys me to no end seeing people on Twitter talking about like women's sports and things like that.
I don't know why.
It's always been something that just annoys me toe Absolutely no end.
Like I know people like, Oh, I would drop 30 in the w N B A.
No, you would get smoked because you were the eighth string on your high school basketball team like shut up! So I thought that was pretty cool.
I was listening, you know, just some things about her, and a lot of people said, you know, if she wasn't a woman with everything that she's done in sports.
She would have been a g m 15 years ago, so it definitely was was a very long, long thing for her to get there and I thought would be pretty cool.
I'm sure Amber probably talked about on ladies first.
So, you know, that's to make sure if you are into the woman in sports type of thing, Amber does her show. Ladies first.
I believe she does it before us, so make sure. Yeah.
So make sure you go check her out because she's dropping some great content, you know, in regards and stuff like that, I can't remember.
It's simply something e simply underscores.
Simply underscore a V, I believe.
So make sure I was actually just going back Thio the Marlins.
I actually thought it was nice that it was the Marlins, too.
And that may be weird of me because, you know, they did in the past decade, Did the whole Hispanic transition basically, and they were the first team to really focus on Hispanic organization, and now they're the first team and any major sport to have a female GM.
So I thought that was nice and fitting for them.
Uh, I mean, the pictures that you see over that they have on, like, bleacher report everything.
She looks like she would terror any guy up like you're going to battle with her an argument.
She's gonna win it.
So I think it's really awesome.
I'm probably one of those guys.
I'm sorry, people, That would say I could probably play in the W NBA and score 30 points, but mentally of that, I think this is also because, I mean, we've already seen a NFL ref this year. That's a female.
We're seeing some coaches in the NFL as well.
I think is wonderful.
Women love sports just as much as men does.
And I think this is great to see that women are getting, uh, I'll say the publicity, But I don't really like that.
We're just getting the respect.
Let me say that we're getting yeah, that they really deserve on this.
I mean, I've actually, it's quite funny.
I think every football fantasy league I've ever been in there's that one guy that doesn't know much.
But his wife or girlfriend knows more than him and helps him win.
Dustin, if you're watching this, that shut out at you there, but so I think it's great.
Now, again, I'm just gonna go back real quick.
I say I could score 30 on them.
That's just me being a male shoving, shoving this pig a little bit because those girls are obviously good.
I just It's kind of like, man, if I played football in high school, we'd one state it Z.
I have that factor where it z right? Right.
That's Napoleon Dynamite there, but I cannot remember the girl's name, but I was.
It was on my instagram the dude that she looked like a beast like they had her doing some work on the Post.
And I swear she hadn't been at least like 696 10 had a guy that was probably like he looked like he was 58 pushing on her and like she had a really good fundamental footwork, drop step playing.
And I was like, Man, she'd make a killing in the n b a s o.
I think it's great the way these women's sports are really coming along and getting the respect that they do deserve and competing with the men as far as front office stuff like that. I think it's great.
Yeah, it definitely is.
Like I said, if if you know, that's your forte or even if it's nine, you just, you know, learning things about that.
Make sure you go check out Amber.
Who does? Yeah, she doesn't.
She's one of those people that I definitely would trust her talking sports over a lot of people that I know male, female, whatever it is because she definitely knows what she is talking about.
But we will now transfer it over to our rant off the week, which is gonna be by me for this week, and I kind of I kind of teased it before with we've got something we could hear here, don't we? I'll do it. I don't know.
I thought I had something where it's for the rent rent of the week.
But I guess I didn't I'm sorry.
Oh, Michael, where do Yeah uhh.
But yeah, I wanted to get into the Robinson Cano ped situation because I guess I guess I was because I didn't know that that was gonna be your rant.
Actually did not know that we talked about that a little bit. I apologize.
I want I was gonna end up talking about that anyway, because it's not only being, you know, Robinson and I think it's the whole thing in general, but I guess it's almost like a fool. Me once.
Shame on me, You know, for me twice.
You know, I don't I don't know the actual saying because I think every time I hear that you see here is a bad thing, Michael, Whenever I hear that, I think of the J.
Cole verse and for all my rap fans out there you will under you know exactly what line I'm talking about.
Your persona just totally changes, like, you know, in this and this and put in with my rep.
You know, You know, I'm just saying, I'm just saying, all right, The people who know that song well, absolutely No.
What I'm talking about and it's weird.
I don't even I can't remember the actual saying but I can remember that verse word for word for me once.
Shame on me, fool me twice.
Yeah, well, shame on backwards.
Step backwards for me once.
Shame on you, fool me twice shame on me because I feel forward again. Exactly.
So shame on shame on you for trying to fool me the second time If you get busted once you know what this is, You know what the severity of it is.
It's, you know, like a 60 game suspension. Whatever.
And I guess maybe e guess maybe I can understand that the one time, Because if you're you come from a bad situation and and you're you just need a little something extra to put yourself over the edge.
We don't get me wrong.
I'm not advocating, for I think people who do it are complete idiots.
And they just ruined everything that they do with the sports.
You would get buried bodies.
Okay, Alex Rodriguez.
All these players would have gotten massive contract.
Would have been in the Hall of Fame by now if they didn't Do you know, stupid things like this, But I guess like I said, if you have, if you're trying to get yourself over the edge to, you know, trying to get that one big contract that your family out of a bad situation blah, blah, blah, I can understand it in a a slight way I really can.
But the second time, the third time or whatever you're doing, you are an absolute idiot like you really are.
And like I said before with Robinson, you know, thes players know that they're getting tested.
It's not like one day, you know, they're doing steroids and then the next day somebody comes up to their door and it's like, Oh, hey, by the way, this is our surprise test of once a year and like I said before, it's not like they get tested once a year.
It's the middle of the season through the offseason, every they're tested all the time to make sure that this stuff is getting weeded out of baseball.
And you know, we talk a lot about the bad stuff that baseball is done.
But I will give them props on this one thing because I think that their suspensions and their punishments for PDS is a lot better with other sports Dio the first time in 60 games.
The second time is a full season and then the third time is your banned for life and I think that they're doing a great job with that. You see other sports.
You know, it's like the NFL.
I think it's a four game suspension than eight games, and then I think the third.
I don't even know what the third time is.
I don't know if it is a lifetime or if you get, you know, put on the commissioner's exempt list, but then you can always find your way back on.
We've seen it with people all the time, but this is the PDS in baseball is just so annoying to me because I think I'm not really that big of, like the numbers person, because to me, you could.
You could say anything you want.
Hank Aaron, still the home run person.
It's not Barry Bonds. We obviously. So he went from.
It's not listen, it is not Barry Bonds.
I don't care what anybody says to me that that number is completely false.
He obviously did.
Did the steroids.
People like David Ortiz, who kind of get away with it because people like him or annoying e.
I don't care what it is because you know, people always like to bring up other things and then all of a sudden forget that David Ortiz took steroids as well.
I think that the steroids in general is such a dumb thing.
And I'm hope I'm very hopeful.
That is eventually going to be weeded out of sports.
But you see it with Robinson Cano.
It's just it just doesn't seem like it's going anywhere.
And I think that you're just absolutely messing up your career.
And let me tell you something.
If I already signed that contract, I don't give a crap how bad I'm playing.
Because if you think I'm gonna take steroids and give up $24 million like you know just did your out of your **** mind.
I don't care if I'm batting 30.
3 if I am batting 30 in the MLB, but I'm collecting $24 million.
Not my fault. Your dumb self gave me the contract.
I'm not taking PDS and forfeiting $24 million.
So if you're gonna take it, be my guest.
If But if you're if you don't want to and you actually wanna collect your money like I would or you know a normal smart person would don't do PDS people.
Bravo, Bravo! Bravo! I like your rant, but I will say I'm going to be your counter act just a tad bit not saying that I disagree with you at all, but I don't care how maney p E.
D s you take in baseball, you still have to have some eye hand coordination to not get heart.
So Oh, yeah, here's my thing back with you, but I don't think I could do that.
How many PTO on people do make that argument and it's definitely one.
You can listen to it forever, but there's too many pop up. There's too many factors.
Exactly how many wall sc****rs would have been Ah, pop fly to right field are now Ah, home run by, you know, 10 ft.
So it's just it's just a little situations like that.
But that's that's That's my rent this week.
Yeah, and even think you know what we say 37 years old, 30 38 38 years old.
So I mean, he's probably taking it thinking I've got to stay relevant against these younger kids.
But you had the contract just just hit the ball.
Just shut up and go out there and be bad. You're getting paid.
It's not the NFL where you could get caught in your money is not guaranteed.
Baseball money's guaranteed.
Go out there, suck and collect your $24 million check because if you don't want it, I'll take it.
Oh, yeah, Oh, yeah.
And the Mets are going to take it right now, so they're happy.
It z it blows my mind every single time I hear it, it really does.
Well, I'm just gonna say this.
It's been a long nut.
And I think our show was phenomenal.
But I will say this after sitting down here talking with you for over 56 minutes.
Now 56 22 seconds, my butt and my back is hurting.
