Hey, look, we're live.
All right? Here we go.
How we do, I think I'm finally coming back from the grave.
It's been a pretty rough couple of days, but I like I got I actually, like, got hungry and ate real food earlier.
And I haven't cute yet.
So even if you're a zombie land there for a few days.
E it was mainly job.
I don't know what the hell.
I was fine Sunday.
And then I woke up Monday and I was in.
I was in a different world.
I wish I didn't even get it.
Would have been better if I would have been hungover.
I didn't even get ****ed up Sunday.
I was I was confused.
I got type people's excess, though.
I got paid attention.
The last time I did one of these for my solo podcast, I put that I was live and then didn't put the link in it.
So after I was done with the show, I just had this tweet like, Hey, everybody, I'm live without any way of watching.
I got the tweet out on mine.
You got the show's tweet out on.
Okay, well, we're ready to fire up here.
And welcome to the people's XFL show hosted by myself, Garrett from Iowa and Midnight Moose.
You can follow us on Twitter at the people's XFL myself at Garrett from Iowa and Moose at midnight.
We're coming off a pretty drama filled day and we got a hell of a show for you boys, including a great interview at the end.
So how are you doing today, Moose? I'm feeling good now.
How we doing? Oh, we're doing awesome.
Like I was mentioning free show.
I was a little rough this week, but I think I'm coming out of it.
I actually got hungry and ate again, so let's get this always good news.
Oh, uh, do we want to start off with football, or do we want to start off with fleets? Uh, what's good? Fleets first.
Can you explain to me what the **** a fleet is? It's basically a total lock off of a Snapchat story makes It was an instagram story.
It z It's something that aggravates me very much.
E will say that much.
There's no reason for it on Twitter.
Twitter is meant to be strictly what you say.
It is a Facebook for 90 year olds.
No offense to the people there.
90 eats Facebook, just typically, like grandmas e.
I have a Facebook, but I don't post on a daily.
No. Yeah, my Facebook.
I have very clear rules.
I use my Facebook for family Keep because I got family scattered all over the country.
So that way I can keep up with all of them.
I have instagram slowly, slowly for models.
That's all I follow on Instagram on.
Then I have Twitter for sports and stuff like that.
So I don't I don't know what a fleet is.
I'm 37 years old and I don't wanna learn, So, yeah, it's a kind of a joke.
Kind of a joke topic, but all right, uh, other nonsense.
I got my Viper's got my Viper's flags.
So people to join the whatever you wanna call it the disaster filled stream last night was our boy tank.
You might have seen the flag there, but that you'll see that later on? Yeah.
I was trying to figure out the disaster on that one.
I wasn't worried about my flag.
Our boy tank went through hell for this one.
You guys will enjoy the interview.
It was a hell of an interview.
All right, Uh, real quick, before we get into the real news and stuff.
Anybody following watching, You wanna drop something in the comments, questions? Get any comments? Any questions? Me and Moose both keep an eye on that as we're going.
So feel free to comment and into the big news of the day.
The Spring league has canceled the rest of the season due to positive coronavirus tests.
Yeah, There's basically two big pieces of spring lead news, so we're gonna start with the canceling the season.
What do you think, Booth? Coming from a logical, you know, housewives breathing.
It's not a paid league.
So I could see it, But the players that are paying for it, they're getting screwed.
The jealous Turkey never even had a televised games, which I think is going to be next into our next topic.
Because of the player from the Elster's thes guys were paying.
It's rumored to be 2100 bucks and they get screwed over like that.
Some of these players have the rightful, you know.
They have the right to be mad.
I would be there.
Some of these players never even got the chance to step on the field.
Yeah, I mean, that's that's a rough look when you're charging people to come and get game film for the NFL and toe further their career and then they don't even get a chance to step on the field.
It's also a rough look when you have everybody, everybody's paying and some of them get on TV, and some of them don't Alright.
I realized that the coronavirus affected that, and we're gonna get into that a little bit on the next topic like you alluded to.
But it's not like it was new.
It's not like the MLB in March where it's just like what the hell are you going to do? Because nobody really knows what's going on.
This ****'s been around for six months, so you would think they would have had a better plan for it.
Just another thing.
It looks like they're leading.
The players go out, do whatever they want to from I from like certain people, certain players stories.
They were going out to restaurants and throughout the city's.
It looked like like the NFL MLB.
The guys were staying at the hotel and not going out of this.
It was like a team meeting.
There's a lot of that going on.
I'm just gonna leave to do our next topic because it's so intertwined with this one.
There's a video, I believe it's a little hard to track down.
I believe it was C. J.
Johnson was the player played for the jousters I.
His YouTube didn't have a name on it, but his YouTube matched up to an instagram, which had a name mentioned in the profiles.
What I'm going off of.
So if I'm wrong, I apologize.
But I believe with C.
Johnson dropped a YouTube video about the spring, Lee was juicy.
Yeah, big take away.
Before we get into the Koran stuff, I didn't realize that there were three levels of players, which makes the cancelation even rougher.
One of the things that he said is that you had 33 types of players.
You have the ones that paid to be there 2100 bucks.
You had players that got to play for free, and then you had players that were paid to be there.
So they were actually paying some of these guys to show up.
But apparently only a select few or, yeah, he didn't really break down into how he didn't really go into how it was determined, but, well, yeah, that's that's enough.
Look to you charge some people and some people are there for free.
And then you got guys paying and guys that aren't paying and they're all competing for time, and they all want to get their film out there that just it doesn't seem like a good, ah, good way to get a good mix of players on the field.
That's some of the Whenever, he said, the paid players immediately came to my mind, probably the one that stuck out most.
I don't know if he is one of them.
I'm just assuming he is because he's had no time in the games and that would make total sense.
Zach Mettenberger, he's NFL veteran.
He it seemed like he was there more Sova like a kind of like a drew standing when he was with the Brown.
Just like a veteran quarterback.
He would come into play if necessary, but more so.
It was a role model type of coach Brian Scott.
So you're saying that you think he would have been one of the players that was paid to be there as opposed to paying to be there? Yeah, we're playing family Feud.
He's number one on the board.
Yeah, somebody they paid to be there to be a veteran presidents and kind of help the younger guys out, which that would make sense.
But, I mean, how do you determine who pays who plays for free and who asked to pay? There's really no way.
Yeah, and has met a neighbor has been in the league, I think, for the past three years, too.
So that's another thing that stuck out to me.
I mean, I could probably spend an hour going off into the weeds on this, but you got you got You obviously have TV revenue coming in.
And you think there'd be enough TV revenue coming in? You wouldn't have to charge the players for the opportunity to be on the field.
Yeah, ads aren't cheap.
I mean, I understand they aren't paying a million dollars for 30 seconds like they do during the Super Bowl.
But still, that's that's money coming in.
Taking 1000 bucks sake somewhere around 100 100.
She Yeah, I think that's revenue.
And then, uh, coming back to our original topic.
The coronavirus testing was addressed extensively by ****.
Main is what he identified himself has Han his episode most recent episode of talking **** kind of thing that's not stuck out to me on that is when they told them to leave, they had 72 hours to leave the hotel.
And most of these guys are from out of town, have nowhere else to go.
We need to get on airplane to fly back.
And they hadn't been tested.
So basically, the league was leaving them no choice but to get on an airplane and fly home after they had been exposed, without knowing whether or not they had that that there was the icing on the cake.
That's like, screw you guys that shows that they don't really care about Well, presumably it seems they don't care about the players.
Send them back, not knowing if they have run there.
Nothing going on a flight with people and just hoping for the best.
Yeah, that that just it comes back to the hole that this league has been plagued by money Rumors from the get go.
There was there was the article that broke, like, two weeks ago about how the coaches weren't getting paid, uh, full disclaimer, as far as I know, that was result.
That was, It turned out that was a direct deposit paperwork issue, and the coaches did get the money they were supposed to get.
But just at the time that the article broke, the coaches weren't getting paid, and it just seems like the league either didn't have the means to or don't want to pay for hotel rooms for these guys until when they weren't playing, which comes back to you really should have been prepared for this.
Yeah, that I mean at the at the time that the season started up.
There's no reason not to be ready for these things to happen.
It's happened in every other sport and every other league.
I don't I don't know why you wouldn't have been ready for it.
It is bound to happen.
Another one of the juicy tidbits from the video was they said they had a guy show up day one positive for coronavirus.
And he just disappeared for, like, three days and then showed back up and started playing again.
And it was never explained why.
My God, I thought it was a quarterback.
Yeah, my hang up there is the explanation.
Why? Because I mean, like, we've had it at my job.
Yeah, it could have been a false negative.
And we've had people exposed on my job, myself included.
And it's one of those things.
Everybody there knows that you have to have a negative test before you come back to work, and everybody knows that.
So when you come back to work, everybody knows you tested negative and you're good to go.
It seems like that was not the situation in the spring league.
I mean, they had guys, they knew they tested positive, but then they show back up and start playing, and nobody knew Why or what? Shady. Yeah.
What measures had been taken to ensure that they were no longer contagious or no longer had it? That za rough? Yeah, that just it just comes back.
Thio what we were saying at the very beginning, this ****'s been around.
You should have been prepared for this.
Some, uh, just terrible handling.
Um, I didn't have a whole lot of guys I wanted to say a whole lot, but just the few that did Ah, just one.
Just here in front, A lot of different people that everything on that video was correct.
The guy was not making anything anything up, that everything he said was exactly how it went down.
So I did the same on my end to from the guy.
He didn't want to be named, but he said it was a pretty shady organization from the get go, the way things were handled, even the food, like, you know, there pro football players, they they need fuel.
They're being fed like garbage is like all that, like sandwiches and whatever they could Schlapp together was like rice and meat.
Yeah, school cafeteria.
We dropped an interview earlier on the Spotify the links on our Twitter stream.
But we did interview with Kent Shelby, who played with the aviators, and that was one of the things he brought up was, he said, And I feel like we're getting kind of into the bashing the Spring league territory and e don't want to get too far in that, because every player person that's been on record or that I've talked to it.
So I said that they were grateful for the opportunity, and it was it was really happy to be there.
But once they got there, there were definitely some things that they don't like.
And Kent said the same thing and especially went into the food, and it's just like I can't do my job without.
If I don't eat right, I can't believe you expect players to go out and perform at a professional football level without having the right amount of food.
You know, you gotta have the calories.
You gotta have the energy to burn.
Yeah, you gotta get any more on this.
No, I'm just trying not to yell because it just frustrates me.
Yeah, it just seems like like behind the scenes, which there's been.
There's been a lot of rumors that leaking out here and there, that is just it was really poorly run and poorly planned.
I mean, it's just unfortunate for these guys because they're out there grinding, trying to get their shot, trying to get their one chance.
Shout out Frank, Tank, get your one chance and you're just shoved into a **** show of operation.
And it's unfortunate for them easily could have been handled better.
Like he said earlier, We're not here to bash the spring league leading me.
That's the great opportunity for the guys who take it to the great opportunity.
Sure, guys do sign to the NFL CFL indoor Football league.
It's a great platform.
Just could have been handled better.
So, yeah, I think I think we all wrap it up with that, E said.
We could get off into the weeds.
I could probably spend an hour talking about the in and out to some of the stuff, especially on the financial side.
But yeah, we'll keep her moving big news.
Earlier in the week, our very own moose broke the K G transfer, which is now semi your relevant, but I still want to give our boys shout outs for being the guy to break.
I don't think he cares.
He messaged me like I broke the news that, like eight, he said Around five, he said, E got some news for you.
What is it? I went from the conquerors to the blues.
I could get a playing opportunity.
I said, You mind if I write an article about it later? He said, Sure, Good.
That was the first one to break and he shared with everything.
So I thought that was pretty cool.
That was pretty awesome.
Good looking forward to seeing and play tonight.
But yeah, I was I was, well, unfortunate.
And then we also had a couple articles for about George Bowen and Matt Mangle.
Um, I'll let you take George Bowen.
I will say, I'm Matt mangle that guy.
He took every advantage he could the opportunity to spring league sports these guys and got everything on tape that he could just a ridiculous performing reorder.
Yeah, that guy took advantage of every every little bit of opportunity he had in the spring league and got his tape made.
It would be shocking if an NFL team didn't especially with this year.
Didn't have him at least is like a try it or practice squad member.
He could ball that that field goal he had from 53.
That would have been good from 56 with these.
He just noted that thing right down the ****ing middle.
Best part was they iced him on and he came right back.
What? He's, uh, split them.
Yeah, 53 yards. There's no joke.
And yeah, like you said, especially with the kicking issues that seem to have been rampant throughout the NFL this year, I I'm surprised he hasn't got a Well, obviously, I don't know, but I'm surprised it hasn't been announced that he signed at least onto a practice squad already.
Oh, yeah, no doubt there's.
There's some kickers on practice squads that have made like 70% of physicals in our garbage from 50 and from 15 hours where he shines.
Well, there you go.
He's pretty **** near 100%.
If not 100% on the TSL season, isn't he? I think he only missed.
I think he just missed too.
I believe you want.
I want to say he went eight for 10.
Yeah, the one he missed was it was definitely a bad hold.
And the other one was just, like, slightly missed, I think from 39.
Matt, mingle if you are listening I know I got you on Twitter.
I'm pretty sure Moose does, too.
If you want to come on and talk about this awesome season you put together.
Feel free to get a hold of us.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Also, hopefully, I didn't get your stats wrong.
If you're listening, I would help him for sprinkling.
Kind of maybe posted the player's stats for people to see just saying no shade, but but help the players.
Us Probably yourselves.
Thio getting players signed just a lot.
Yes. Yeah, definitely.
And then the other article was on George Bowen.
Tell us about George Mullin there. Moose? Yeah.
George Bone is a He actually originally played Cuco, then went on drafted, played.
Plato can talk, played in the Serbian League led his team to the runner up spot of the championship, which is absolutely crazy.
If you see some of the Serbian League Stadium, they just look like a local park, literally.
Maybe the stadium could hold.
There's a couple stadiums look like they could hold 1000 people.
It's crazy to clarify for all listeners he is talking about the Serbian league has in, like Serbia over in Europe.
So, yeah, definitely hop on YouTube and check that out.
It's Ah, it's very interesting to see.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Some of them guys, including him, just completely ball out because they're going over there for a chance.
And, yeah, they really are just playing to get back into an American league, then obviously bow and came back and came to the spring league.
And he actually got in for a couple of snaps when, uh, trying to blank on the guy's name Jack Jackson.
Herdman, I believe, went down, and, uh, and Shea traffic and he came in. He went.
I believe he went two for three because he came in, like in the final five minutes and only had one drive.
From what I've seen nice s.
So that will be interesting to see if that guy if he goes anywhere.
And we also had a pretty good week for XFL in the NFL.
We're gonna hit him up again later in the show.
Is we're gonna keep it brief here, but hey, got a couple.
He got to play a little bit, uh, two or four for 12 yards. Nothing.
Two special and tight end Colin Thompson, formerly of the Vipers.
He had a big seven yard TD catch.
That was his only catch of the game, But it was a big one.
Exciting to see there.
And also tight end Donald Parham.
Junior one reception, 13 yards.
Where did he play this? In the NFL.
He was going to get renegade.
Yeah, I forgot to write that one down on the notes, so I think I was the one who put it on.
There was, like, 2 a.
When I'm, like, parm having had some place time.
So but and I don't know if you guys follow any of the XFL guys on Twitter, any of the reporters myself for Moose, right? There's a lot of guys making moves that were in the XFL last earlier this year, getting on practice squads, getting their shot, getting up into the 2nd and 3rd string.
So it's just it's really exciting to see.
It's also really excited to see for the XFL going forward how this could be like we talked on the first show.
Not necessarily a like minor league team for the NFL, but definitely another spot for the NFL to get talent.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
And E will lead us to the Spring league last week before it went downhill.
Yep, it says last week, We had tons of players make the honorable mentions and players of the week there were.
Three quarterbacks was over 240 yards.
That's half the league.
Yeah, that's it was definitely, uh, step up and throw kind of weak.
It conquers and generals dominated.
My boy Kevin Anderson and Brian Scott both went out there, competed e a playoffs or not here anymore.
That's next on my list.
Never mind that I wasn't e Yeah, The generals had a pretty big one last week that was setting him up in good position.
They fried the who have that? Was it trying to blank over? Was they play? They fried the aviators? No.
Yeah. Radiators with shade. Tragic.
It was blues and conquers because McCoy's Nickelodeon Anderson had a goal.
Yeah, and the other quarterback, you know, you just had three quarterbacks over and up over to 40 to 40.
The one quarterback that had a rough night, even though he did get over 240 was Shea Patterson, not of Michigan.
19 of 32 for 241 yards and two TDs was the good, uh, and the rushing td.
So he totaled three TDs.
But he also threw three interceptions.
Yeah, you kind of hate to see it. We called him Shea. Tragic.
I'm in Iowa fan.
So when I was playing at Michigan, we called him Shea tragic because he had some decision making issues and that seems that it doesn't seem like it fixed.
So I was really hoping about in spring league a little bit of training because I like to see guys succeed.
It would have been nice to see him clean that up.
But unfortunately, I mean, you throw three picks, you probably aren't gonna win no matter what the rest of the stat line says it.
It's always unbelievable that he totaled three touch shots with three picks.
Well, that's been the story of state tragic.
Even when he was at Michigan, he'd have great stats, but the the eternal word would kill him, whether they were Pixar fumbles or bad throws on third down situations, leading to a turnover on downs.
Tragic for you? Yup.
Shade tragic for you.
It's just but you really on.
And I say this in all sincerity.
You really hate to see it.
I would love to see the guy clean it up, be a force in the league because he's definitely got the talent.
He's got the arm he's got.
The legs just needs to clean up that decision, making it not forcing. Yeah, exactly.
Aside from that, he's a quality quarterback.
Easily number two or three on the NFL team if you take away the interceptions.
Oh, yeah, If you could have taken away the turnovers, he probably would not, probably playing in the NFL right now, not in the spring league.
Yeah, you have been.
He probably would have been drafted, at least meant around.
But just get the accuracy down.
Yeah, well, And it was always I don't even want to say accuracy because the accuracy was always there.
It was just he throw throw balls, places he shouldn't.
Yeah, trying to make something happen.
But moving on with the quarterbacks, we had two cubes on the stat leaders with Kevin Anderson 26 35 for 325 yards and two T D s and Brian Scott 24 36 314 yards and four TDs.
Just absolute blowout performances.
Both of the guys, literally.
It's like, Do you get for the extra yards or extra touchdowns in this city area? We can decides to.
Both of the guys made this stat leaders Anderson and Scott.
They bought out.
According to Twitter, Scott got the night I had a Anderson, which I think it's just because he's more popular.
Nothing against Brian Scott.
He's my boy like Anderson, but I don't I don't see how you could pick one over the other.
Yeah, I know they both.
They both had great games, very similar on the accuracy UH, 26 35 24 36.
Very close as faras completion percentage.
Very close on the yards that the only difference with Scott got a couple extra TDs, which that's almost more play.
Calling them performance at that point.
Yeah, absolutely insane.
Both those guys deserving NFL show and following on that dominant Q B performance from last week, we had the leading running back of the week, had 12 rushes for 73 yards.
On that was that was number one.
Hey, also added six receptions for 107 yards and had a TV to go with it.
But, I mean, the fact that the best running back in the league on Lee had 73 yards the last week is that that's an amazing stat that that's just I'll pass heavy.
This league is, uh, Terps off.
Says Scott is better.
Just so you know, tarps off.
What's up? But uh huh.
Drop us, Um, some of your favorite spring league place.
Well, let's see.
Who else do we have for stat leaders this week? Oh, yeah.
We got you gotta There may.
I'll take honorable mentions.
Okay. Jordan Suel.
Yeah, he had four receptions, 156 yards and two T.
Leading the charge on the receivers there.
And then the last mentioned for stars of the week.
We had the generals defense playing against shade.
Totaled four interceptions on the day.
That that's that's impressive.
Especially with shape tragic.
Well, and he only through three of them, So yeah.
Yeah, what's his? What's his name? Came in after him.
His name Stuff I can't remember.
I got caught up in the drama, you know, drama stuff going on.
So I think it was Herman because he because he got a concussion.
That's believer to waas.
Yep, that was that moves us.
The honorable mentions with our boy kicker, Matt Mangle.
Drain the 50 order.
That would have been good for 55.
I'm second hammer that thing.
Oh, yeah, it just sounds different.
He boots. Um, okay.
Second place running back Jordan Salima, 19 rushes for 57 yards.
Another one of the that.
You want to say odd performances, but he had We are he had.
Okay, I'm type backwards. Threw me off.
He had a reception for 12 yards and totaled three DS, three TDs.
He was just finding the inset left and right.
E believe whenever they're on the two yard line twice.
He just got the handoff and ran it, man.
Yeah, so not not a lot of yardage, but he was hammering him home and two receivers up. Next.
Tw three Dan Williams the third.
He's a receiver that showed up 156 yards and six receptions with the TV and after him and Nick Hawley, he caught absolute dime from Kevin Anderson for a TD early.
He ended up with 73 yards and six receptions and kick returner another one of our boys, Matt.
Six, and absolutely jam off first literally, that was Mango had a perfect kick off, and he and *** and took it to the highest first play of the game.
Yeah, that was impressive.
Text in ended his game last week with a kick return for a TD to win it and then opened up his game this week with a kick return.
That's something you don't see.
Yeah, well, one of my favorite things about that guy too.
Is he Was on Twitter shouting out his blockers.
Yeah, it was the after after the game so that I'd love to see it.
I'd love to see that this one breaks this one breaks my heart 102 yard interception TV for D Shawn. Amos.
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say who it was from, but he had 100 to, a 102 yard interception TV.
That was impressive.
I mean, it's about, like, most hunter and two yard returns.
He just made a couple guys miss inside the 10 and then just took off.
Nobody had a chance.
And thanks to Jack for letting us know that we are the goats. Apparently.
And also, he said he hasn't seen too much of spring league, but enough to know that Paterson is bad.
You all there you love to hear? Thanks for the love, homie.
Okay, so that wraps up our players, the players of the week.
That would be the last time we have that segment till for a while here because, yeah, TSL is done because they don't know how to handle coronavirus.
Yeah, Which just a rough luck.
Yeah, January There's gonna be a new lead coming up.
Well, it's gonna be like Marshawn Lynch.
Mike Taison, then, uh, destroying another big name.
I'm drawing a blank on Richard Sherman.
Is that the fans in control League? You're talking? Yeah.
Fan controlled football.
Maybe we'll get something for man.
Plan on writing. Yeah.
It's a very interesting concept for those of you that don't know its's, uh, prototype league.
I guess you would call it. It's a new idea.
Basically, they're going to have fans live.
Call the plays by voting online.
Shout out your called football.
They they thought at first because I used to watch them.
Quarterback of the Orlando Predators.
Josh Gable, our guy.
Big Biggio, Coletta Custom Carolina.
They had some good players.
I used to go on the app.
You pick the place and I never wanted.
But if you wanted you to win, like 1000 bucks if you picked all the right place Yeah.
I mean, if you're one of those football people are like the rest of us that set home yelling at your TV that they should have ran something different.
This is your chance to get involved in this.
Um, I haven't heard any specifics whether they're going to do an app or a website or exactly what's gonna be going on.
I'm not 100% but power and through boys powering through, Uh, but yeah, So it definitely it seems like it be a good time and be very interactive.
And so far, I mean, they got fans submitting logos, team names, the whole nine yards.
It's gonna be straight fan control all the way.
I think I got a good fan base already.
Excited to see it, and I mean, yeah, we'll be covering it because it falls right into our realm.
Hopefully will just be another spot that these players get a chance to shine and get their shot.
Yeah, I hope so too.
And now we have our recaps.
So this week we got the Roughnecks.
Versatile Wildcats played week one of the 2020 XFL season.
I'm gonna get a drink of water.
I'll run through the game.
So starting off we had P. J. Walker.
Uh, just a three place, 61 yard drive.
He hits see Phillips or 50 yard touchdown.
Then that was followed by C can offer L A scrambled blood for a five yard TV.
Excuse me? Yeah, Chad can off, checking off.
Got to scramble five yard TD, capped off in 11 place, 71 yard drive.
And then he can off.
Also passed a small wood for five yard to get the two point conversion to go up 86 And L.
Was the Struck again with Chad Can off the Smallwood for 11 yards.
A cap off a six play, 59 yard drive toe.
Put him up 14 to 6.
And then Houston answered with P.
Butler for a 16 yard TD pass toe cap off four place, 73 yards.
They get 14 12 and then has time was winding down at the end of the half.
Uh, Novak kicked a 35 yard field goal for the L.
Wildcats put him up 17 12, and then Houston got the ball back and went 39 yards in two plays after a good kick return to get the TV and go up 18 17 at the half.
You definitely at the end of that half.
You definitely thought that field goal is gonna be the end of the scoring.
And then the second half, Houston came out and just ran Shop P. J.
Walker, two K Lewis for a four yard TD cap off seven plays, 48 yards go up, 24 17.
And then Walker took it in himself for the two point conversion to put him up, 26 17.
Our boys, Sergio Castillo hit a 44 yard field goal that had to be a disappointing drive.
It was nine plays for 38 yards ended in field goal, but that put about 29 17.
And then Butler took in a four yard rushing TD cap off six play.
42 yard drive put him up 35 17, and then p.
Walker hit Kay Lewis on the two point conversion for a final score of 37 17.
Uh, you look at the stats on this one to kind of get into our takeaways.
Houston at 315 l a 289 and they're pretty even passing yards.
Houston had a pretty good lead to 65 to 1 96 but on rushing yards, Ella had 93 to Houston's fifties.
So offenses kind of balanced out there.
The big difference.
Houston only had one l.
Had three, and that just leads in tow.
Houston hit the got 15 quarterback hits in the game in L.
So I mean, Walker was having all the time in the world built basically no pressure all game.
And that just allowed him, especially in the second half.
Set up and run shop.
Players of the game, obviously, is P.
Yeah, there's a reason he's in the NFL right now.
Yeah, well, and he had eight different receivers overall.
Four different receivers caught TDs.
Then he added four rushes and 26 yards to his 272 yards passing.
I'm just it's looking like Bridgewater might be out, and it's gonna be really interesting to watch. P.
Walker actually gets, um, significant playing time like we mentioned earlier He went two for 4, 12 yards, but he didn't really see a whole lot of playing time.
If he gets to start this week, it's gonna be very excited to watch what he could do when he actually has a full game toe work with.
Oh, yeah, for sure, because, yeah, I understand there's a little little bit of talent difference between the XFL in the NFL.
I expect Walker to put on a show if he gets to start.
Yes, it a lot, I'd say, because college, XFL, that NFL Oh, yeah.
I mean, there's definitely a step up going to the X f l just because less teams from college.
So, yeah, definitely be interesting to see.
Uh, we'll see who else.
Wide receiver Nelson Spruce.
Yeah, Nelson's Bruce, wide receiver for L.
Had 11 receptions on 15 targets.
And then Houston's defense, as I mentioned with the 15 Q B hits, the only two you had cornerback Dietrich Nichols out of South Florida, five tackles a sack, a Q B hit, an interception, two passes defended, he showed up in bald out.
Yeah, he should.
I don't actually.
Don't you think he was a practice squad? There's no reason he should.
Yeah, that that game alone you think would get him a look.
Linebacker Detroit Lewis out of Tennessee to sack ALS.
Two sacks to Cuba hits a past defend and a forced fumble E the defense.
Yeah, the Houston defense all around Waas solid.
And those two guys were definitely the leaders.
Uh, the yeah, Chad conduct and probably said that.
Wrong. Chad, cut off. Cut off.
I mentioned I'm a little under the weather, but yeah, Chad can off.
This could not get comfortable in the pocket.
They had pressure on him the whole game.
And that defense just showed up and made life miserable for him.
He's still got a touchdown.
He did what he could.
He also had a rushing td.
Oh, yeah, I don't I don't want it Toe come across as the guy didn't have any talent because, I mean, he put together a decent game despite that, but yeah, yeah, l a just I mean and I think the condition of the talent show through in the second half.
Like I said, it was 18.
And then Houston came out in the second half and did not allow Los Angeles to score again.
So, yeah, basically ran away with the game.
So yeah, that's why they won about 20 points.
Yeah, that'll do it.
You know, we shut him down in the second half.
That will lead disappoints.
Well, uh, yeah, that's the recap on the game.
Uh, I forgot to look and see who we had left, but Yeah, we'll be capping last week.
One game next week.
Forward to that.
Oh, yeah, I jumped ahead.
We covered the P g. P.
Chance to start.
Kind of one question I had in there.
Yeah, I see you there with this time I'm hopping a little bit.
I kind of wanna add with those two.
All right. That makes sense.
Inside their small folks, we're making We're making changes on the fly because I've been in bed for a day and a half, and then proof read this thing, but kind of my thing is even if Bridgewater is healthy, Carolina is out of the playoff picture there.
They're gonna be making the playoffs this year.
So the fact that he's been banged up a couple three games now should they just let him rest and let P.
Walker start and see what you can dio.
That's what I do.
I bang up the guy that you save your age quarterback whenever there's no reason to.
I say, Just let P J G o Show What do you do? It? I definitely I'm not Carolina fan, but if I was a Carolina fan, I would be all four of that.
Just cause e think PJ has got a lot to show.
And, like you said, there's not really a whole lot of reason to keep banging up your star when e mean playoffs are.
You know you're gonna make the playoffs.
You've lost too many close games.
I definitely think Carolina has the potential to be a playoff contender next year, depending on what they do in the off season.
Yeah, yeah, get a healthy Christian McCaffrey back for a full season would definitely help, too, But yeah, I'd be looking real hard about just saving Bridgewater's health and letting letting P J Walker start run the offense, see what can happen.
Yeah, I'm the same if you there.
And I'm also gonna flip these around just because of how we ended up dropping things in between when we went over this and now Okay, so we had a We got great interview with Ken Shelby out.
I dropped it as a bonus episode on Spotify earlier today.
So links on the page check that out.
Hey, touched on this background TSL stuff that we were talking on the top of the show and also just talking about his attitude and where he came from And what he's trying to dio just a really great guy take the time to listen to the interview.
His attitude is amazing.
You gotta listen to the story.
He's he's right now couch hopping because his house is gone due to the hurricanes.
So and still just one of the happiest, most positive guys you're ever gonna talk.
Thio just had a really great time talking to him.
He's easily one of the most down their ex players.
You ever talk Thio? He talks to you like He's your friend. Failure.
Is that it? Standing in that chest? Shout out your cap? Yep.
And also yeah, anybody out there that have some money to spare stuff like that.
Failure is not an option.
He's running it.
He's doing some hurricane relief stuff and a bunch of other things going on some sweet shirts to Yeah, so yeah, to get that check out, listen to the interview.
He's just a great guy.
And now the big news way.
Got Moose's boy? Yeah, my guy Jarvis, Tank Courtney Him All 6 ft 6 £310 of him.
Stay tuned to the end of the show to watch him.
We had a We had a good time.
We covered everything from his story to inspirations.
Some NFL defense defense.
When that he could take He said it himself is he's a He's a big dude.
Yeah, he deserves to be in the league.
Oh, I just I loved his attitude.
We asked him who he'd like to face.
He just started naming him off, starting with Aaron.
Donald. He he wants all the smoke.
His words exactly.
Donald, Give me J. J Watt.
Give Give me Von Miller.
Give me T. J. Watt.
Just give me all of them.
He just He wants his shot and the boys hungry.
Uh, for those on the watching the livestream, it won't be on the livestream.
But when I dropped the podcast hopefully it will be later tonight or tomorrow morning depending how long the edit he takes.
But we'll have the interview on the end of the podcast, So yeah, Look us up People's XFL on Spotify.
The People's XFL show on Spotify Give us a follow and they have the podcast episode will have the interview on the end of it.
Yeah, You don't wanna miss up.
We had a good time with it through to the other than the technical difficulties.
But once we got on June, which sort of SportsCastr it went It went well.
Yeah, yeah, we have.
We have decided as a group that SportsCastr is cursed.
Anybody attempting to do their first ever SportsCastr stream will have technical difficulties and will not work for some reason.
We don't know why, but just for some reason, the first time you try will not work it does not like new people whatsoever.
It will queue up and speak.
Yeah, it eight and made first at 80.
Guaranteed first and h Thank on the plus side.
However, if you get if your power through the difficulties on the first one, you're gonna do a great show when you've got people like tarps off Jack yelling at you during the show.
So yeah, exactly.
You gotta get you got to get through the storm to get to the sunshine.
But I think that's all we had this week.
