So quick recap, Right.
We got to talk about the masters.
We'll talk about, I swear. Jar segment.
We're very sorry.
Our picks did not come through, but we're gonna recap it a little bit.
You know, Steve, you know, we have Dustin Johnson just absolutely ran away with the Masters.
Didn't really think that, you know, you said, I mean, you were talking for a guy who's never one of the world and a guy who's been playing the best.
He wasn't even on our radar.
Wasn't on our radar at all.
And I don't know if that's just I mean, that's bad on us, because we've been following these tournaments where they're gonna think we might have made a mistake on that one.
But, um, he definitely showed why he's the number one player in the world and why you gotta take him serious when it comes to these majors.
I mean, his last six starts, he's all had top six showings.
But my thing is that I have to say that with the rain's coming as hard as they did for guys that like to pound the ball and can can launch the green in two shots, it was definitely a lot easier for a guy like Dustin Johnson to be able to attack those greens early on in that tournament, unlike they would be normally attacked in a in mid April.
So I definitely think that played to his advantage a little bit.
So maybe not taking how back the back house soft the greens are going to be in that tournament cause I mean, he finished at 20 under that tied for high score all time with Tiger in Steve s.
So I mean, I think about the last year's winner and with Tiger was minus 13, so that score was kind of a little obnoxious and I think we started after the end of Day two.
We had seven guys tied up top at minus nine, so I mean, scoring was coming from everywhere and going into the weekend going into Saturday it was a leaderboard filled with all the top names in the in the league and on tour, and it took a 65 from Dustin Johnson, 765 to kind of separate himself, and he had a four shot lead.
I think going into final round on Sunday, Andi actually came out.
He actually bogeyed a couple of his first holes, and, uh, there was first get two bogeys to his first five holes.
Maybe something like that.
Camp Smith actually was able to cut it close and when he pulled it to within two on, But I actually texted, actually texted you when I was like, Hey, the skin Smith, pull this off and get your reaction was no, no, that's exactly what happened.
Dustin Johnson decided to turn it on a little bit of multiple birdies on the back nine to pull away and Camp Smith.
He's just young, you know, So he kind of faded a little bit.
Hasn't really been in that moment before, but we didn't say he's a guy to look out for going further into the future.
He's got more top fives in majors than Justin Thomas and Bryson D Shambo.
So kind of put that into perspective for a second, so that's a guy.
That's definitely I think we talked about this was his fourth go around at the Masters on.
I think we had brought up the last episode that he had made the cut in all three times, which is very, very unusual for new golfers attacking that courts because you saw it.
Mark the top of the leaderboard was all predictable top players in the world, and there's a reason like it's it's I think Patrick Kennedy said it best, like, Ah, lot of the reasons why guys are successful at that courses because they have a lot of good feelings about that course, whether they've had a good memory of going off, scoring very well there or attacking at certain times.
And and it's just kind of like Tiger like last year, like I think it was whole 16 when all those guys went in the water.
That part? Yep, knew exactly just to go right over the bunker, take his three move on with his day rather than attack that flagstick.
So there's a reason why there was the same guys are able to succeed year after year.
So to see Cam Johnson, Camp Smith sorry, Uh, turn around and and support the parents really actually make it run with.
It wasn't surprising, but I was impressed by his play long driver, great putter.
That basically was the set up of the weekend guys that could get the ball in the fairway.
If you got the ball on the green, you usually had a good chance.
The greens war as fast as they usually are.
So nice little story, too, about Cam Smith is he's always from Australia, and he told a story about him when he was a kid and they were in school and they paused everything when Adam Scott was also a fellow Australian actually won the Masters.
And the funny thing about it was Camp Smith actually shot a better score this week.
Then Adam Scott did that week, and actually, Adam Scott won the Masters in camp spitballs by, like four shot.
So that's something that's kind of you could think about.
This kind of puts it in perspective on what Dustin Johnson was able to dio, but unfortunately, when it comes down to the square job segment are golfers did not come through, you know, like the closest one was Patrick Reed.
I had Patrick reading finished night under.
I believe Romney finished a little better than that. Oh, yeah, Ron.
Yeah, he was God's favorite.
So I mean, I don't really put so much stock into that.
So my long shots didn't come through.
I'd like to apologize for the Rhode Island Food Bank for it, for not making it happen.
Well, I will also say that we will be making the same donation that we put up on behalf of that.
So we will be donating.
I'm gonna try to get over there, if not the end of the week next week just to get in before Thanksgiving. Exactly.
And, uh, I think I think at the end of the day, the segment was a huge success because they're still, you know, we're still giving back.
They're still getting something, and we're able to twist it in with the show in a way that, you know, listeners can stay involved with.
The club was everybody loves sports betting and gambling, and that's a lot of our following a lot of our audience.
So, um, but moving on guys, we're gonna before we get into it.
So we did get good news that vaccines have been approved for, uh, being the year we got to vaccines coming out one, it was 95% effective with the other was 90% effective.
They're gonna be rolling it out in stages.
So the last people to get the vaccines which air 30 and olders that don't have underlying issues, they're rolling them out in April.
So it looks like we're going to start having fans again, mark at venues and And as far as I'm concerned, though, you're gonna you're gonna have to start showing some sort of, uh, some sort of like certification to these venues to be able Thio.
It's right around the corner from March Madness.
So they already actually came out and said that March madness.
I don't know about the family about March Madness is gonna be at one location.
Hey, they got a whole thing. They're gonna bubble it.
They got a bubble. It they got a bubble.
It. Yeah, I'm okay with that.
They're gonna have it.
March Madness has to happen there, too, So, yeah, that's that's exciting news.
So leading the basketball, we'll talk about Yeah, we're gonna March Madness We got the drafts coming up tomorrow.
Before we get into a little bit of the draft, we're gonna go ahead and start with.
I guess you could call this even though free agency hasn't opened yet.
There's not really free agent signings, but this is like the embassies in getting started on on Monday.
Teams were allowed to make trades on things like that, but you can't officially signed with teams yet, but not, but everybody can agree to deals and just the typical MBA stuff.
And they wasted no time in getting the ball rolling with these rumors and these actual trades that have been agreed upon.
And it's just the Mbaye doing this thing, and it just shows you what The NBA off season.
It's just like a soap opera.
It's just drama, drama drama.
Well, they had to do it quicker this year, so I mean, you got the draft basically on top of the start of the season, which is what December 22nd at this point s So we talked about last week that a lot of these guys and get drafted, they're not gonna get any sort of camp.
They're gonna be going right into the team's camp.
To be able to get started for the regular season s like that.
And and you have obviously the the options opt outs.
That was the deadline today at five.
But obviously what we just learned is like, if you get, like some sort of like, I don't even know, apparently even get an extension on it.
You get extensions on any of these days.
Just start with Gordon Hayward clearly that the Celtics are trying to work out a trade right now, where they're able to sign him so he could get the max amount of money for his last year it was dealing, allowing them to opt in.
And then they could basically be able to move him out of town to another team that will be ableto have toe send some sort of assets back to Boston to be able to make the money match because Gordon could opt out right on.
You could go to another team, but odds are the teams that he wants to go to don't have the proper cap space to be able to take it, So the only way for it to work for them is for them to be able to sign him and then have to give somebody back.
Thio equal all the money coming back to Sunday.
So that was exactly what happened.
As it would get it gets extended past the draft because extended past the draft.
That goes into Thursday, I think, by five so 4 59 and basically by them extending it, it means one of three things is likely to happen.
Most likely, Gordon Hayward is not gonna be a Boston Celtic.
We know that, but three options that could happen either he option and then they sign in trade.
The problem with that is there are teams that are actually, um, that are suitors for Gordon Hayward and that interested him.
But if he opts in tow one year and then gets traded, he only has to play one year for that team.
So they're concerned about a long term deal.
They don't want to trade for Gordon Hayward and give up, give up a bunch of assets, and he might just go to free agency after one year.
Then you can also have him opt out, resign him to a shorter deal less money and then trade him for some assets.
And now a team is getting him on a longer contract.
They get that commitment from him and then the last option.
That's probably that probably is.
The less least likely to happen is he opts out and then just re signed for less money and stays with Celtics.
Which is which isn't gonna happen, because if that was the case, why not just do it like now? So they're trying to get their trying to move Gordon, it seems, and they're trying to get who knows? There's been so many rumors out there today.
There's been rumors that the Hawks are interested and that they want to get rid of him in the subject.
So, look, we all know the stocks have been looking to move up in the draft.
Hawks obviously have the sixth pick in the draft, so that's a possibility.
Has been the Indiana rumors for the last month or so of him going to Indiana and the subject try to facilitate that because that's Gordon's family is from Indiana.
It was very close to home for him.
He went to Butler there on Ben would get you know the suburbs.
We get Myles Turner or no, the Depo.
Some assets in return, and I would help the Celtics.
And then most recently, the news is now they're trying to move them for assets certain in a guy like James Harden, which I don't think that's gonna happen.
But again, it's rumor Central, it's it's Ah, it's very exciting times.
I mean, is it? Yes, basically, you have the You listen to the radio station and they have, like, the trade machines and the people call in.
And they say, What if the Celtics move all three draft picks? Ah, Marcus Smart, Campbell Walker.
And they could go, Go get your honest or somebody like that.
Like, you know, it's just it's just blasphemy.
Dude, it really is blasphemy.
Because if you bring these recent rumors about James Harden coming to Boston, first of all, it was he was That was even one of the lists that they talked about.
They talked about Brooklyn, Brooklyn? Yeah, it was Brooklyn, Brooklyn, you know, it wasn't anybody else.
So the fact that they're coming out with this noise later on, And then the first reaction that I said to you was with the Boston Celtics really wanna bring James Harden onto their team when they're cornerstones.
Stars are Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown, and you bring James Harden while he Yes, he is a top player in the n b A.
He's immediately going to stump their progression on being exactly what you want them to be.
And that's the guys that carry you into the next 10 years off your legacy as Boston Celtics not bringing in James Harden and causing some sort of riff because I've had the same reaction with you like Okay, like for video game purposes like Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, James Harden is going to be awesome, but actually watching them on the court, playing together, how is that actually gonna work? It's just gonna be Isolation City like this, Really not gonna be any science to it, like, and we talked about to like, Yeah, they may score a lot of points, but their defense is gonna be atrocious.
Oh, yeah, the defense is gonna be bad, but like you said, it's Isolation City.
But you're getting the probably arguably the two best isolation players in the game, and James Harden, two carrier but I believe that they're going to score whatever they want.
So they're gonna be putting up 125 points a game.
They're gonna be very, very, very, very tough to beat.
And then on the Celtics end, I mean, I get what you're saying as far as starting their growth.
I mean, James Harden has come out and said he doesn't He didn't like playing in a system where he it was ball dominant.
He wanted to play the system where they moved the ball more.
I don't know how true that is because obviously wants to go back to Brooklyn, where now the coach of Brooklyn is Steve Nash and this is the coaches Mike D'Antoni, which is the same system that Nash played in, obviously, and the same system that was just in in Houston.
So I know how much truth there is to that.
But my thing is, when you have an opportunity to get a top five player in the league, they just they don't come around.
Generational talents like hardened don't come around so often.
You gotta get very lucky to nab when these dudes via the draft so when they made available.
You have to do your due diligence and try to get them on your team.
And then if you don't have to give up Jalen Brown or Jayson Tatum or Marcus Smart, your cornerstone pieces I mean, it's definitely something that you might want to try and experiment with.
I just don't know how it goes, but I just don't know what Houston would want to take veterans on with that with a lot of money.
When they're trying to do the exact opposite, they're trying to blow it up, get young talent, be able to build it back up or building in some sort of fashion.
I mean, I don't really know how you were.
The rumors are Houston's not taking Gordon and what is taking care of, but maybe not Gordon Gordon.
They're trying to flip those guys for more picks and more assets to send because they have already has shown, like listen hard has already said he wants out.
Westbrook Cities wants out.
So those guys, they're probably gonna go. They lost their coach.
They lost their GM.
They got a fresh air coach.
I don't think they're really going all in right now to win everything.
And I think they're trying to build for the future.
They just treated Covington for Trevor.
Some draft picks. They're trying to ac***ulate these picks and whatnot.
So I think if they could get a deal where they have a ton of picks, um, they might go for it.
We saw, like, a guy like Anthony Davis all the pics that he went for.
I just don't get what the deal with the Pixar, right? Like we look at teams like Oklahoma City, they have, like, 17 1st round picks of the next three years.
Like, what are you gonna do with all those first round draft picks like we're just screaming at each other right now because we talked about it that the Boston Celtics have done the cardinal mistake every year, and that's draft every one of their draft picks.
And we say you have to move these pics at some point because you can't keep strengthening your farm system.
Yeah, well, that's the same thing with Oklahoma City is like they have all these draft picks, but they're not gonna actually odds of them.
Making all these pics isn't gonna happen.
They can't. They can't obviously so.
But it's it's more assets to try to build a contender in the future.
You have a nice young peace and shy SG A so you could find a nice garden appear with him.
They got, you know, we didn't even talk about.
They just got the Phoenix Suns.
They traded. They got Rubio.
They got Kelly you breath.
But I'm just I think I just like the point.
Like where James Harden is getting offered $50 million a year to stay in Houston, turning it down.
And he's doing the same thing.
Anthony Davis stood.
I only want to go to Los Angeles.
I won't go anywhere else.
I'm going to stop my feet.
You're not gonna like my attitude and you're going to send me to Brooklyn.
No, but one way or another, and he's gonna get his wish.
100% get his wish.
It's like, Dude, it's like the Houston Rockets went out of their way to do exactly what you wanted them to bake themselves a contender.
They went on the Chris Paul.
We could argue right now if Chris Paul doesn't get hurt in that Golden State Warriors.
Uh, they go there and then all of a sudden there's a rift that happens.
All of a sudden they move on from Chris Paul.
Let's bring Russell Westbrook in.
Let's try to get that old chemistry by Broad City Carmelo to at one point.
It's like Dude, like they have clearly done everything that you've asked for and the fact that you personally as a human being can't coexist with another athlete.
And now you think you're gonna be able to go to Brooklyn with Kevin Durant and and Kyrie, Irving Kyrie, Flat Earth Irving.
Hey, doesn't even want Kevin Durant's The guy that wants, um, country doesn't want. That's what I'm saying.
Like so like Like it's not the talent around you because Houston's been competitive.
Every year it's you.
They make fun of you when they talk about the guy that comes up and they call you the dribbler because it's all you know.
He's the one complaining about how he doesn't wanna play in the ISO style offense, but he's the one dribbling the ball 30 times before taking a shot.
But I like I told you like that was just something you're supposed to say when people immediately come out and be like Yeah, like, that's really good that you wanna play with Kyrie and Kevin.
But does it your style, like, is not gonna make those guys have to take a step back.
Those guys never want to take a step back.
Those guys are always trying to be the ones taking the steps forward.
The ones that are the habitual line stuff is I used to say, like Kyrie was a great talent in Boston, but there was just sometimes in games where I just said, like, Why do you have to do that? Kyrie like, Why do you have to take that full away three pointer? Like, Why can't you just move the basketball? Like, why can't you just be a good teammate? It was very simple.
Is that like, you know, like, why can't you just be that So? So this whole idea that, like James Harden, could just stop his feet and just say, I'm going to go there and you can't do anything about that.
After everything that Houston did too big, they had to blow up everything to make him happy.
And now he wants to blow everything up and then we'll honestly like Russell Westbrook was the one that was trying to force himself out of town first.
So all of a sudden I said to myself, All right, well, he's gonna force his way out, So I mean, James Harden is gonna be alone again.
But now they both want to force their way out.
And I think the funniest thing you said to me was the whispered doesn't even want to go to a contender.
Hey, wants to get his number a triple double, be a bum ass somewhere like the Knicks.
Or like the Hornets, and and and just not care.
Yeah, that's the only two teams that are showing interest in Russell Westbrook right now is the Knicks and the Hornets.
And like we said, that's because the Knicks or the Knicks they need to feel, you know, eventually, they're gonna need to fill seats when they have fans.
And so you need that town that Z is going to fill seats of the Knicks.
I mean, it's Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks and then the Charlotte connection is thes Air Jordan brand athlete like Jordan, the owner obviously.
So they have a connection there.
But again, if he goes to New York or Charlotte, he's averaging a triple double again, Most likely.
And that's exactly what he wants.
Yeah, uh, go back, Thio.
What we're talking about earlier talking about, Okay, See, But the other of that.
Okay, so they got rid of vocal.
They got rid of Chris, Paul.
He goes over to Phoenix, And the move that I love you got rid of Rubio.
They got rid of you Bray.
And now he joins Devin Booker and DeAndre in the form Another big three.
You still have McKell bridges.
You still have My God, Cam Johnson, who you're very high on.
I know that they actually had a nice thing.
There was the a, C.
They were going back and show draft highlights from my scary.
Yeah, And the draft highly, actually, was Kobe whites reaction to Kim Johnson getting because because any rational mind was like Camp Johnson should not got selected a life in his own team.
And everyone on that, like that was the most impactful moment because it showed how much called the white care for his teammate. No, no, No, no.
It showed how stone cold the white being in practice with Cam Johnson every day, said to himself being like what was not way? No, he definitely what we know anyways, love this trade from Phoenix.
They have a floor general not appear with Devin Boucar.
Obviously one of the best players in the league has been for a very long time.
We saw what he did at Oklahoma City.
He got them back into, uh, into a respectable status last year when nobody thought they make the playoffs.
Actually, they're getting the five seed eso he goes into Brooklyn on Dave showed he's definitely upgrade over Rubio.
They show that they can win without Kelly.
Regular radio playing the bubble on the sons went out on the bubble so they could show that uber is replaceable.
So this What do you think about the Phoenix Suns, man? I think that we're waiting too much stock into the bubble, you know, because if they were a good team, they would have been a good team prior to the bubble.
They just want a good team.
But I do think that they gotta You gotta realize through like teams going into the bubble got a full offseason off before they played, so that's like the 2020 sons going full, then just coming back on 2020 you could be better.
But the difference was like there were certain teams that had to go in and win games and play hard every game that they played in the bubble because they were trying to get into the playoffs.
Everybody that they were playing was just trying to get their minutes and trying to get their bodies right in their rotations.
They played, they played, They played the Kings.
They play the Spurs.
They played Portland.
They played all the teams. Memphis.
They had all the teams that reviving for that final playoff spot.
Listen, and they were bumped teams to.
I'm just saying they were all playing this hard and I'm not gonna take anything away.
They think they have a nice podcast of in Barcelona.
Sums out, comes out.
You know they do a Phoenix Suns podcast, which is kind of funny.
But the fact of the matter is, when ultimately comes down to it, Yes.
Adding Chris Paul to their team definitely makes them a better team just because he's he's up for being able to mold young talent around them and allowing them to succeed in certain areas.
So Chris Paul definitely is, ah, great fit for that team because, honestly, like they're not, they never generate star free agents to be able to come there in the first place.
So they have to be able to facilitate moves that can show that their young talents, that they are invested in their future and that they should stay there.
Stick around because you and I both know Devin Booker.
Sign that your long term contract.
7 term Booker could just turn around and stop this.
People like James Harden.
And so I don't wanna play anymore like I want to go somewhere else because that's the new MBA.
That's the world that we live in right now.
So thes, thes GM is better play ball.
Yeah, they better play ball for their for their their stars.
It's very true, and it's it's one of those things, too.
Where stars if you look at the stars, if they're winning, they don't they don't request to get out of there so If you take a guy like Devin Booker who's in Phoenix for 89 years and they don't even sniffed the playoffs, is he going to stop his feet and want to get out of there? Of course, saying with James Harden and they're just going to the playoffs every year, but they're not winning anything.
But the James Harden situation is a little bit different because that's on him.
Like you were saying they did everything you asked to get the players there and then you just couldn't make it work.
We got teams like Milwaukee right now.
That made a big deal for Drew. Holiday.
Obviously, we know the Celtics.
They couldn't even move.
Kemba Walker drew holiday, which was It was kind of surprising.
Like trade was like three first round picks in Kimba like your holidays.
A good player, you know, is Gordon Hayward, not Gordon here within three first round picks.
They turned it down.
He's not an All Star.
I mean, he wasn't all star, But the fact of the matter is, like, Do I think that Milwaukee made an upgrade by what they did in quality, requiring Bogdanovich and your holiday? Yes.
Are they trying to make a statement right now to Yanis that like hey, like, we'll do anything and everything to keep you here and make you a contender and allow you to succeed? Yes, but there's no way they do that without getting a wink, wink nudge fist pump from IANA saying that he's gonna Supermax this This We all know that franchises are not out for the best interest of the player.
I know they're not going to jeopardize their future if they don't get the okay from their franchise player.
But you are one of the best basketball players in the world you are trying to live in. But walking.
You were trying to play basketball with Milwaukee, trying guy who wants to win a championship where he was drafted.
No, let's be realistic, because if he knows, he can't generate talent and he could go anywhere else in the MBA, pick his spot, pick his poison and make anybody in his contender better than Milwaukee is right now, go to the Miami Heat there instantly, better than what Milwaukee has to offer them go to Golden State instantly, a better situation than when he has in Milwaukee.
So, like, ultimately, like, why would he do that? If that's in the best interest of what he is, he's still gonna get paid most the same amount of money as he wouldn't Milwaukee.
So and he gets to pick and choose where he wants to be.
And you and I both know that those fellas love either being in in L.
They love being in Cali somewhere, or they wanna be in South Beach a some point in their career.
Like these guys don't wanna live in Milwaukee their whole life.
I wouldn't want to live in Milwaukee my whole language.
You wanna live in Milwaukee your whole life? I've never been in Milwaukee, but that's the point.
It's kind of like Blake Griffin.
When he got traded Detroit his past, it was prison.
It was pure prison.
Like he doesn't wanna be there.
Never wanted to be there.
You want to get out, like, you know, like that phone call is so ****ing like.
That's when you know that you've done something wrong.
Like when you get exiled from your team and they send you to Detroit, they send you to Minnesota.
They send you these places that nobody really ever wants to go.
You have to get traded there for them to be able to put that in perspective and be like, ****, I eft up my eft up now I'm in Minnesota like that's what D'Angelo Russell did.
He said, Yeah, he stands out in L.
And they said, we've been assorted, dude, like, it's a perfect example.
Dude, you have Russell went from L.
A tow ****ing Brooklyn to Golden State.
Uh, that's what I'm saying.
Like in what, three years? He went all around this different places.
But get this guy who wanted to play with talents You want to play a cat? He has no choice but to say that at this point, because way wants to play with video of Kat picking them up at the airport.
Dude, as far as I'm concerned, like in the MBA circles like Karl Anthony Towns is looked at as like a geek.
And I'm not saying a geek in a good sense, like just a geek exactly like that.
We talked about this.
A few episodes go like one of the like.
The best stories that we've heard was Jimmy Butler walked into the gym, took the four worst players.
As far as I know, it could've been the taller boys in the Gatorade guys like and said, I'll take these guys and you guys take the rest of the starters Wiggins, Teague, towns.
And he thrashed him and he thrashed him by himself.
And then he waved at him.
Goodbye, side note, he stated.
Right now that's a very interesting relationship.
But not only is he stop, but he's because he's breaking into the freaking its leader.
Go back. He's probably made almost as much money.
That's an interesting Selena Gomez goes from Bieber to Jimmy Butler.
Uh, what the ****? A great swear.
Germany, uh, going back.
Thio Phoenix Really quickly, though, with their Big three that they have now.
Or a book or eight and CP three.
What do you think? There.
There's something is in that Western Conference.
Obviously, playoff team.
Well, Chris Paul can carry what he did in O k.
That can be good, I think a team that has good feelings about what I will say that school Phoenix left the bubble like Devin Booker ran to Kendall Jenner after the bubble.
It was like it was like, get where we're going.
I just wanted to know what? The bow.
I feel great about myself.
Like, you know, I'll go hang out with our Kardashian comes back and immediately has a floor leader.
And Chris Paul, like a guy that's going to probably be able to take it.
Take it a little more like we didn't think that Chris Paul was going to take being an Okay.
See, seriously, everybody thought he was gonna go there, stop this feat.
The band that he gets traded somewhere else, or they were going to release him for whatever reason.
And he didn't do that.
He did the exact opposite.
He took those guys under those wings, and and he did appoint.
Well, he took it as like, a mission as an insult.
So I could only imagine in his head right now, he's gonna make the best situation out of Phoenix, as he possibly can.
You got great, like eight taking a step forward. Definitely.
They good rolled pieces around them.
They seem like they always drive building over players.
So they're gonna get they're gonna That's why I think this is deep they're gonna get Yeah, they killed Bridges, so I mean, they have nice pieces around them.
And so, yeah, I think Phoenix is definitely gonna be a playoff team. Will.
It will be interesting to see what they do, but I don't think they can really do much better than what they've done to allow themselves to be successful.
Because, like I said, like, they've had to do everything from the draft to be able to build their Tebow.
I agree with you.
Like if CP three could do what he did with Okay, See, last year, you could definitely get Phoenix into the top five, maybe even home court advantage in the Western Conference, especially with team like Houston that might drop part of the West vertical.
Obviously, Houston is gonna drop to the bottom.
That's a hell of a statement to make that you think they could be a top 14 in the Western Conference.
All of a sudden, dude there better than O.
C was last year s o in O. K.
C was the fifth seed in the West.
Yeah, and teams in the Western get worse.
I mean, are they? I mean, Gold States to me.
We're gonna be back up there again.
Gold, gold, State, Lakers, State, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets.
Yeah, but I think they're better than you.
Uh, you know, put the view that put put the move of Dallas people with Luca.
We will see you next year.
I wanna talk about guys.
You kind of touched on it a little bit.
Was the trade for Drew Holiday.
So the bucks and Eric Bledsoe and George Hill to the pelicans and three first round draft picks for Drew Holiday, which definitely definitely overpaid for Drew.
Ah, nice player.
He was at one time All stars.
Two times defensive player, all first team defensive player.
Hey, averages 19 points a game.
You know, he's definitely solid.
Edition is a great defender, and it definitely makes that team better.
And they compare that with a sign and trade for Bogdanovich.
I don't know what the hell Sacramento is doing over there because Sacramento Black Donovan ****ing took over for bloody hell for starting shooting guard right now.
They're just let him go for early release.
Over And Dante de Franceso.
I wonder if they didn't even changes in Miller.
E think he just gets bored? E think he just wants to make movies just to make movies just active because just active.
Yeah, because I think that's what one thing I can think of it because, like So So Bogdanovich is a restricted free agent and, like some team like the Hawks are showing interest.
So it's one of those things where, like, do you want to have the Hawks offer him like a massive deal like 20 year? And then you don't want to match it? So at least this way you could get something in return for Bogdanovich.
You know what I mean? But it's the guys like I mean, I don't know how much of a difference ****ed.
Um, Stephen Kenzo Anderson.
And so we're gonna make.
But neither say now.
The books ever Starting five of Drew Holiday Bogdanovich, Johannes Brook Lopez like them pretty good.
Yeah, they got better.
It's another team you gotta look out for.
I mean, there's always a team that look out for They finished first in the conference this year, so I mean, I'm not gonna be shocked at Milwaukee's, Definitely.
But then they get to the playoffs, and that's like kryptonite.
Yeah, that's true.
So I mean, like I said, like this this idea that drew holiday is this game changing talent All of a sudden, it's just kind of mind blowing to me like, I think Drew holidays.
I don't think Drew Holiday put you over the top.
So that's kind of like what I was like looking at the trades today.
And the Celtics were willing to part ways with Kemba.
I mean, that actually kind of, like, blew my mind a little bit that the Celtics were doing that just because immediately I think of things like Isaiah Thomas like they got out from Isaiah's hip injury, they were able to get Kyrie, which seems like a good trade like How can team not around the rest of the league not look at the situation will be like you guys just signed him to a Max deal last year.
He was great for a chemistry guy like it seemed like there was no problems like, Yeah, we knew that he had me issues, but for you guys actively trying to shop him, especially for a Drew holiday kind of talent for me.
It basically said that like they know something deeper is wrong with Ken Disney's where they don't think that he's going to be able to progress.
Because if you think about it, Mark is 30 years old, he's gonna pointing out his contract almost the age of 34.
So you know, e think it's It's one of those ideas, but I also like to look at it as like where they in that situation last summer, like where they felt like they had to do something to acquire Kemba Walker.
And that's why they went out of their way to do it.
Because, I mean, they definitely did with losing Kyrie and Al Horford like they had to get somebody.
Well, they said they said Planet last year was Kemba, and you can't in this cantor.
Yeah, well, I think they knew which was a lie, because people that would that I mean, it was a lie in the sense that e think they would really would would have rather had to Cairo.
Every resigned Al Horford resign.
But I think they knew deep down and There's probably some conversations internally that they were like, All right, Kyra is gonna you know, he was talking to Durant in the hallway at the All Star Game like he's leaving.
Yeah, to Max deals.
Uh, it's funny. So funny.
Dude, I'm gonna go on a tangent really quick, like it's so funny how these ****ing players just lie about it.
It was blatantly lie about it like that.
So you guys talking in the hallway about two Max deals and then they're just really I get asked about it and like, No, no, I would say what he said.
He said something stupid, stupid like to all started something that he made up some stupid excuse.
But then it comes out that that's what they were talking about.
So we all know when these guys get together, they're talking about playing together.
But the Celtics have to make a move.
Last year, Thio compensate for that.
Losing Kyrie and Al Horford and Campbell was a good move because up until last season, camp has been one of the healthiest players in the league.
Yeah, durability wise.
So that's not I mean, way just sucks that he came in and got hurt.
But what makes you what has to make you worry is like I was saying, from the end of the stoppage to the bubble, it's like a full offseason.
And then is the first practice they had back in Boston where they all get together.
The ****ing knee flares up again.
Yeah, because he played too many minutes in the All Star game.
But I'm saying you have ****ing four months off before that happened.
Yeah, it's clearly not a good issue.
No, I know that's what saying So that's what What? Why The Celtics are probably worried at this point, so I don't think it's bad for them to shop the guy.
I mean, they got to do with the best.
Like I said, if you're a Kemba Walker and you're sitting at home and you're like they're actively shopping me right now like I said, hits you doesn't hit.
You were knowing that you're you're supposed to be with the team for the next few years before business business.
Yeah, but he what? He came to you.
He's a free and didn't come to you.
You picked him like No, he's a free agent.
He has every right Thio what he chooses.
So that's why I went out and offered him that.
Yeah, but he came here because he wanted to win.
And you and you convinced him that this was the best spot for him.
Like Don't don't don't make it seem like changes.
Like if a guy gets hurt, it changes.
Yeah, but that's you just It's the same reason why Gordon's getting out of here.
I mean, it took it for they took three years for them to do it, and he's not even the one that's getting out of here.
He's the one that's making the decision, that he doesn't wanna be here anymore.
So if anything, the Celtics back Gordon Hayward more.
But all of a sudden, they're not gonna back him Walking at all loose Kemba Walker was more available to Gordon Hayward. Waas.
Sure, we're gonna have a major injury.
We'll take that one year out of the mix.
That doesn't that Doesn't that doesn't count.
The first six minutes of his career with the Boston Celtics does not count.
They're those horrible.
Had that not happened, Do the subjects have been reaching that? No.
Because Kyrie Irving was on their team. That's true.
G gonna be something way.
Got the big man in the middle. Big.
You know where to be found anymore.
So I mean, like I said, Danny Ainge has a huge job tomorrow.
Like, do not draft three people tomorrow.
You have to deal something.
This is why we moaned about it back at the trade deadline, you could have used a veteran going into the bubble.
You were that close.
You got bodied by a 69 bam out of by you.
Like you need to address the interior, no matter what.
Because wing talent cannot be enough to be able to propel you over the top.
Especially when you run up, it gets a team.
If you get to the finals in L.
A, who's just gonna absolutely smoke you with Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard down low.
So you have to find somebody in the interior that's going to fill it out because I will not watch them out of by you body you up again to be able to get Thio advanced by you.
Because if something had any chance to really have Ah, stand.
It was going into the bubble and getting to the finals this year.
Now we know that the Eastern Conference is only gonna be mawr intensified.
Every team is getting better around you.
So you have to do something that's going to make sure that you guys content at the highest level and it starts in the interior.
Yeah, I agree, and also starts with the bench as well.
I do think they need to upgrade their bench going into it.
They can't have guys like semi Ojul A and Brad Wanamaker and all these guys.
You can only have the money team for so long.
And then you just realized Davis and it's not working.
Makes seventies hearing flashes defensively.
He's he's a good defender so that you have to been ableto McDonald consistent shot and you get so many open looks and he's not scared to shoot the ball, which I don't know why, because he doesn't ****ing make any, not on a consistent basis.
So I think it's like time.
Where you guys going to give up on those projects, you need to go out and you need to get some instant scoring when everybody is healthy, you can throw.
Just say this, say, the Celtics.
They put what they had.
You have Gordon Hayward in the starting lineup.
Somehow he stays.
You still have market smart coming off the bench.
Marcus Smart is obviously a great bench player to come off the great piece to have coming off the bench.
But even he's a streaky shooter and streaky offensive score.
You have nobody really off the bench.
I could just go and get you 10 to 15 points on a consistent night like a Lou Williams does for L. A.
Or like I said, Thomas used to do back in the day when he was a six minute before you started.
So I'm gonna need somebody like that.
Help them a swell.
Yeah, well, I agree that the bench is definitely something, something that they need to address and they need to strengthen.
Hopefully, some of those role players will take another step going forward this year, but yeah, I mean, is it just lays to talk about the N B a again I dio I said it said the other day of the world is normal again because the NBA's back just makes everything so much better.
You don't talk about the n b a.
Like even you can see it for, like on this podcast.
Like there hasn't really been anything interesting to talk about it.
Like the NFL has been back, but it's way had golf, but it was not many tournaments.
As far as, like, bigger tournaments.
You had a British Open, canceled the Masters.
We had to wait all the way till November s things like that.
So baseball was to me.
I mean, I know you like baseball, but all that did was losing money.
Uh, one final trade I want to get into Steve was the Los Angeles Lakers got a lot better to the point guard position.
Uh, they got Dennis Schroder from Okay, see as well for the 20th pick in the draft, I think Danny Green.
So now you add him because you Rondo's leaving.
Rondo's trying to join the Clippers.
He's wants to go toe, stay in L.
But go to the other team and try to win a championship with the Clippers.
Without this, just that's what Rondo way.
The Clippers not yet.
He wants to the free agent, but is the rumor has it he wants to.
Rumor has it that the Hawks are trying to make a big push for him to pay, like 15 year.
I'm not e think so.
I think it would be a great fit for the good for general use before General have come off the bench and what not being nice little reunion there.
But as far as the Lakers musicians bolsters, their as faras still gonna be the favorites to get back to the finals and won the championship next year, What do you think? A guy like Dennis short it does for him.
I think it's a huge tradition for them because he purposely do that blonde streak in his head.
I don't think so.
I think maybe I don't know if he was born that way.
E, I don't want I don't want to say anything that's going to e think he does because Marcus Smart used to happen to remember.
No, he was all the way through.
But Dennis Schroder, from like Forever, has always had that one long stroke in his head.
I just didn't know if that was something that the style German, that's what it is. It's a German.
I guess I have to assume that we'll get a short is a nice player.
I definitely think that's definitely upgrade. Likes that.
Any team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, after what we saw last year, is going to always be the team to be no matter what.
But I thought that what they had right now was enough to be honest with e don't really think that you need to do anything.
They were kind of thing that would just just stand pat.
Did they do something with an exception that ended up generating them warm cap space? All of a sudden, wasn't there something with the wall? Deng.
I think it was last year. Maybe.
I don't remember. I know there was something a little all day.
I'm not sure exactly what it waas, but it just goes to show you, and we keep harping on the Celtics.
But I'll go back to the Celtics like this team just one of the NBA Finals.
So Los Angeles Lake is just one of the NBA Finals.
They see all these teams around the making moves.
Phoenix, The teams in the East, Milwaukee, all these teams, Brooklyn.
That's gonna come back with Kyrie.
Maybe they get harder.
My silly seems potentially getting better and making these moves, and they go out and they make moves to better themselves.
They don't just stay pad, they keep doing that.
And this is the team who's had success and is, is one of the NBA title.
And then you get teams like Like I said, we're gonna go back to Boston.
Where is like it seems like they're just content with staying put.
Yeah, like, you know what I mean certain.
And I don't know if it's the fact that, like I said, this, too, when I saw the offer of Gordon here within three first round picks for Drew holiday, that's way better than what they got for for Milwaukee.
In my opinion, that's better.
Gordon Hayward is a better player than ever, but so you just is when it's fully healthy, here's an All Star, but so will never be a New Orleans is also in a situation like where they honestly feel like they could contend for a playoff berth right now, so they don't They don't really wanna ADM or young pieces to their team.
They want to be able to start putting pieces around.
Gordon Gordon is not a young piece.
Gordon, the solid wing player that they need, they have that they don't want a guy with just one year left on his deal.
When they know that they're not gonna be able to resign them, they will.
They have plenty of cap space.
All these guys aren't up for deals like Gordon.
Hayward does not want to be in New Orleans.
At the end of the day, there's one place that Gordon Hayward wants to be on its back in Hickory Farms.
Get that shooting on the shooting? Yup.
Shooting on the Create the basket.
Yeah, with the cornfields behind And, you know, and hey, just moving around and you know and he's got his wife and his kids and then just out frolicking, you know, doing the thing like that's all he really wants.
He's an Indiana boy.
Eso That's where Gordon Hayward's going.
You heard it here first wired by sports, is breaking that Gordon Hayward is going to be traded to the Indiana Pacers because I'm not an idiot, and I know that there's only one realistic place that could make the money work and all this other nonsense that's going on. It's just not true.
He's going to Indiana.
I broke the news first live.
Basically, what I was trying to get at WAAS.
I just don't think teams want to trade with Boston.
I just I think teams haven't I honestly don't think of the g m's like Danny Ainge, and I think Danny Ainge deserves that, because I think Danny Ainge is always the is always in that situation where people feel like they're either gonna FM with a medical report or they're gonna turn around and at one time or they're going to turn around and they're going to make them look bad after the trade happens.
And I think like you have to be okay if the team, if it fits your need, you don't have toe win.
Every trade, like sometimes like winning a trade just is all about just making you internally better.
It might not look great on paper but I think we've seen in recent history what teams trade for major superstars.
The other team that gets the assets in the pixels works out better in the long run.
We just We just saw it last year with with Okay, see would pull George.
Yeah, Shea Danilo.
Those picks was definitely a better haul than what Paul George and the performance, but they they didn't even make it. By the second round.
They did exactly what they couldn't do.
They mortgage and another guy, Pandemic P that did not perform well.
And the team that got all the assets instead, or is the team that's looking like the better one.
It's the same thing with Oladipo going to Indiana like getting those players, that player back in what they ended up doing in O.
Ended up being the better player because now Victor Oladipo doesn't wanna be in Indiana anymore.
I feel you're taking more chances with these with these diva stars now, because they know how much power that they have now.
You never know when they're gonna want to just up and leave one day, so, like I think it's important, just understand that like the way Danny Ainge successfully brought the Celtics up was making that trade with Brooklyn a long time ago to get rid of Paul Pierce and Kevin Barnett and being able to strike gold with Tatum and Brown like you bring guys into the organization that have on Lee the affiliation to your organization.
You grew them and you grew them toe wanna be there and succeed there.
So that's why I like when we talk about Phoenix earlier, like it kind of works for them because we know Booker and they're gonna be really good players for a very, very long time.
You have to make those guys happy some way somehow, because you really can't trust just going out of your way and just taking a talent and saying, Yeah, that that guy's gonna work now and try to have this win now mentality it fails all the time.
And then next thing you know, in 34 years, you're left with nothing.
So my biggest thing is like how we're talking about all these diva superstars that air wanting toe to stop their way out of town and demand trades and whatnot.
If Danny Age doesn't get this team and put more assets around them and make this team a championship contender.
How do we know that Tatum and Brown are gonna do that coming forward? Well, you just always that possibility.
But that's my point.
When if you're talking about bringing a guy in like James Harden like that hurts your chances of continuing to show you show those to that they are the priority and making the team great.
And that's where the future lies.
So like, I think, sometimes you just don't mess with things like that.
And you say we hit gold with our draft picks, we know what they're successful.
They haven't had.
Like, you're training for a guy like James Harding shows those guys that you wanna win now.
No, they already know that they wanna win nap like they aren't doing any making any moves that show that they want Mark when you make it to three straight Eastern Conference finals moves fortune, but your core out of the last five.
But you're close like James.
How long, though? But no, the point is like those guys, they're gonna keep maturing like I think we can both agree that Jalen Brown and use it has reached there.
They're gonna continue to progress in the league.
Those pieces around them are gonna eventually work like they're gonna Eventually, we think that they're gonna eventually you have to keep.
You have to keep Jesselyn and you have to keep trying to remove.
But that's the point where you can stick with the same guy.
You're not sticking with the same guys, but with the people that you're going to bring in, you have to just don't bring it back.
You don't need to bring in better guys than that, like you need like the mark.
Me, you guys don't you need guys that come in that are willing to ride for Tatum and Tatum and Brown like, ah, guy like Steven Adams.
That's going to be a great fit for you.
You that will turn around and you just know what you're going to get out of it.
You're gonna get a rough rider.
Ah, guy that's going to be in the paint.
The guy that's going to do anything and everything he can to help the team succeed and not get in the way of those guys being the best players on the court at all times.
Like we started with Kyrie like there's just certain guys in the league that just caused other players headaches.
And I think that you can't make that mistake again.
You have to continue to trust the process of what you have.
You have the assets to be able to go out there and get players like a Myles Turner, But I don't think all o k c and making off of our Steven Adams because she can't take it anymore.
First round pick.
Of course, they're gonna have a fire sale right now.
They don't want ****ing Adams right now.
I understand that.
But given the 26th pick for Steven Adams, like they'll do it right now.
Listen, I fully am on board with them going out and getting like I said, like you need toe work on the interior like that's exactly what would be make you successful where you are.
But they don't need to constantly keep.
They don't have to drastically change their roster to be able to get where they want to get.
Thing is, there's gonna be three team in the Eastern Conference, one way or another.
They're still so close to the to the eastern coast of the NBA Finals, obviously with the top teams in the East.
But if they stay pat the way they are there, they don't make moves.
They're not winning.
They're not winning the East next year.
That's just it. That's fine.
But that's not okay.
But sometimes you have to think you have to think to yourself like those other teams can only be good for so long.
So we're just waiting for people to fall off, waiting for LeBron James to leave the East.
He left the east and he's just got better.
But Kevin Durant Kevin Durant makes his way exactly.
So that **** is stuff that happens.
You can't just play it out just waiting for somebody to leave.
No, I'm not saying that you wait for somebody to leave.
I just think that you have to understand that like you have eyeballs and you do understand, like these players coming from other teams.
Like what they're about, what they dio.
And you know that you had a situation like that two years ago.
And you know how that that that didn't work out.
And you know you were better off without a Kyrie Irving on your team.
Just because you've got the right chemistry guys around those two guys like Kemba Walker, that was go that made a starting as a starting point guard for an All Star team this year.
That's still bought into the fact that Tatum and Brown were still better players and the ones that you had to concentrate on the whole time we see a guy like Gordon Hayward pushing his way out of town because while you argued all season like Gordon Hayward's a great fourth option for the Boston.
So guess what? Gordon Hayward doesn't believe.
He's 1/4 option, and Gordon Hayward wants to be better than that.
So all of a sudden, like seal there, get that chemistry out of there.
Like if you bring another perennial All Star in like you're just gonna get the same.
Let's not act like if Gordon doesn't go to a team, that is, he's the number one I'm showing.
He does. He averages 20 three game.
We'll see if you could survive.
If you say something, it's a big if I agree, So news says tomorrow is the MBA Drac.
That's gonna be super exciting, so we'll see what happens.
We're not gonna do a full mock draft, but just quick, Who's the number one? Pick the kid Edwards from Georgia, because I would never trust trustable e just wouldn't like Like how How stupid like, are we that, like in 2020 like Lemelle Lowball is going to be picked as the number one overall pick? It's not stupid.
You're just saying that because of his dad.
But Lemelle was one of the best high school players ranked.
He had a free ride on U.
A. It wasn't even a high school player.
It's complete, like two years.
And then he then he like Chino Hills and he played that spirit of spirt Academy on.
Then he didn't go end up going over as a 16 year old 15 year old he was playing overseas.
I'm not saying that he's not going to be a good player, but like I would rather take a guy the kid from Georgia where I just really conceived with my own eyeballs against Division one talent that he had ah lot of upside.
And And when? When Lamela's playing against international like grown man in Like some bump is some bump international leagues of professional.
Okay, there's tons of professional league in Europe.
Turkey, you Becca. Stan.
Is that even worse? Are you getting home court? I'm sorry.
But my point is like, I need to see low Melo against other talent for me to really believe that he possibly is worth in a moral pick.
But guess what? He's going to Minnesota.
I don't think I don't think he fits.
Well, I don't think he fits in Minnesota.
Comella, with Angela there, they could both from the point.
And they they're not really good off the ball.
They're not consistent shooters enough to play off the ball, so they both fall in the hands.
I can't believe LaBarre did it.
Both of his sons were gonna be talked to.
And the thing about levar is like, you haven't heard much from him either, which is stunning because you think of all the years that you would actually, he would come out of nowhere and BBB because he hasn't even been our first date.
When Lonzo was coming here on first take every other day.
Yeah, they thought about Alonso is more of a generational talent.
And they got, they got he promoted.
Lines are so well because he went went right to the Lakers.
The Lakers didn't even see Tatum.
They had the definition of a like someone made that trade, knowing that the Lakers had no chance to take a Taito, there was like it was it was already definitive that, like he was going to be a Laker.
Everyone knew it.
And and that's why you don't tip your hand.
You just don't like.
I don't care if you like a player. Nobody.
Nobody knew that.
Traded was on the six train.
Everybody was mark out, folds mark out faults and then they traded the number one pick.
At that point, everybody was like e was a ****ing bust.
Uh, I mean, he's got better, obviously, but they just false was Maybe they I don't know what they did or if he was hurt or if you got into the Sixers training camp.
They just ****ed up his shot.
But it was I mean, if you look at his college highlights and then what he wasn't going to lead.
It's just not the same e don't know how.
It's like you forgot how to put basketball.
I'd rather take the guy that gets recruited to Duke over the guy that gets recruited to Washington.
Just going to say there's a reason why he gets recruited in Washington and not a Duke.
But I guess I'm making the same argue for the kid that gets is getting drafted. Number one, Georgia.
You know, Georgia.
What? I think there's just certain guys that turn around and go to certain universities that no, like, I think it was a couple years ago.
What happened with Simmons going to L s.
U like l s u didn't deserve Ben Simmons, But Ben Simmons was like, I'm just gonna be on prime time getting a lot of ESPN coverage.
I'm gonna be able to dominate as a freshman.
And I'm going number one no matter what, anyways, Either that or you go to Kentucky.
Kentucky breeds them, so that's what it is.
But you know what Lovell Ball is gonna be good for? He's going to be.
It's not publicity.
It's going to be proof that maybe it is more important for players that really believe that they're going to be pros, that maybe they should forego going to college.
I mean, we just go overseas, do that whole stick that they don't even have to go overseas now because the Julies got that new.
You know, these guys don't want to be.
These guys are trying to be in the G League.
They're trying to be there, trying to be in the lottery like that's That's the whole goal of going over there.
Did you talk about being a G leader as an 18 year old? Yes, that they have a new system where you could go into the D League now instead of going overseas because they're trying to keep people in the United States.
So now you go to the Julie for a year and then you enter the draft would stop that.
Like letting players just to quit for the draft Is an 18 year old.
Yeah, you know, that should happen.
That should come back.
That should definitely come back, because if you're good enough to make the league out of high school like make the jump.
If you fail that your ****ing problem.
That's your decision to come out out of high school and not to go to school, not play one year somewhere to try to get better.
E you think you could play if you think you could play in the NBA, you make that choice to go go pro in high school in your bus.
That's not nobody else but yourself.
Just making the CIA and even more ****ed off that we're talking about this right now because their whole woman you know the way is watching this N c A.
I got a word for you you wanted done.
Treatment is over.
You better figure out another strategy to be able to bring more money in because these guys don't want to complete college ball anymore.
They want to go play international or they want to go right to the D League.
As you just said, just because you know I go to school diaper swallow, Melo said before we Before we wrap this up NFL pick of the week and I felt pick of the week.
I really do like I think I like Indianapolis sources.
Green Bay this week I think they are.
I think there are favor 2.
5 point favor, and I think it's one of those games like where I think Indiana.
Indianapolis has everything that Green Bay struggles with, and that starts up front with a way to run defense.
And I think that's what Indianapolis will be able to present to.
So I do like that.
I mean, the Thursday night game is like the under in that game.
What, 37 a half? Arizona Seattle Listen, 57 a half under life is too short Vision division unders on Thursday night.
That's a lot of ways we say that every week.
Division unders on Thursday night, right? Yeah, it didn't work last week, though.
You stick with the trend, I guess.
Before we go, we'll talk about this Ivy League.
Let's look at the trends like we were gonna make a lot of money at the Ivy League this year and now we can't listen.
Shout Ivy League Ivy Lee actually made me a little nervous just because Ivy League was the first uh, conference to actually cancel, uh, athletics and last year and people kind of were like, Well, there they're just smarty pants, like they just smarter than everybody else.
But they knew it was coming from companew.
It makes me a little nervous that they're out front of it again, like they said that they don't want to play again.
And now, like, we kind of made fun of him last year.
And now it's kind of like, Oh, I kind of wish that because if Ivy was all in, I feel like that.
We're good now where you know something that nobody else.
But also that's a lot of why a lot of those Ivy League players definitely transferred out of those programs just because they probably had some sense that, like the sports, we're gonna be canceled again there.
So there's a lot of teams in Division one that picked up a lot of good Ivy League talents.
What transfers that are gonna make their teams a lot better, But yeah, Mark disappointing.
First half Ivy teams versus power, six conferences last year.
Like locks, the Ivy teams were definitely the ones that always played best in the first half.
So, like they kind of like irritant teams like They're just so smart.
They're just fundamental you to death.
Yeah, they they're not good enough to win those games, but they're good enough to make a superior team feel stupid for half of basketball s.
Oh, yeah, like that's That's a bad trend, that's all.
We're off to a bad start because that's not even a trend that you have to look at the team sport like That's just yeah, you close your who they're playing.
Yeah, first, I was so proud of that trend last year.
You have done that way.
You have, like, six in a row, one point 67 or okay, but I mean, like, when we lost, it was like heartbreaking losses.
They were always, like, really cool. So, like, E.
I guess I'm gonna have to wait another year for that to happen.
But I am excited that college basketball's going back because schedules coming out.
That's my bread and butter.
When college basketball comes out, make sure to tune in to this podcast schools.
We got you covered.
That's that's where we shine the most.
And if there was one thing that made me super super sad last year or this or this year.
A lot of things that may be super sad this year.
But the one of the most things that make me super sad is the fact that we lost March Madness.
That's where it all started to go downhill for everything.
So just getting that back this'd year is you know, I think it's just important for human civilization.
The vaccines important.
But March Madness is Yeah, it's just up.
This vaccine is a close second now.
Know the vaccines? Definitely barely.
And then we need March Madness and the bisecting.
He's coming after that because we don't realize how important sports is.
Yes, hence wired by sports sports has been one of those things that especially happen to be like indoors.
Like when when we lost everything.
I mean, you could only binge Netflix and do other things for so long, like everything just kind of get stale after that.
Unfortunately, so, like, you know, sports definitely, you know, gives you still that euphoria, and I think it's why I got into golf just the beginning, like you just don't know what the end result is yet right? Like it's always something that like we talked about the what? The **** moments last week.
Like it just gives you those those great like those all or those like great moments where, like, you just not really prepared for And that's why you tune in.
So, yeah, I'm definitely interested in watch that.
I mean, so we'll have something else going on with the NFL.
NFL is on the second part of the season shot during the Patriots.
Big win versus the Baltimore Ravens.
They're gonna run the table now.
I'm just kidding.
I'm not gonna run the table, but, I mean, we'll talk about more patriots next week.
I said if they beat Houston when we can, you know to be five and five? Yeah, exactly.
That's when you can start talking like I got some momentum on E.
The NFL's would kind of like I'd be really stuffed with this year.
Dude, no, I haven't and like another funny You say that because I was talking my father the other day and he's like, Dude, he's like Mark, I haven't even watched any NFL.
He's like even the Patriots.
My dad's too much the Patriots for 40 years.
He's like, I just don't even watch your games like I'm not into it.
I don't get the same feeling, but no fans there you don't have.
The fans were on your that fake crowd noise.
What you know it's fake.
That's just that's upsetting.
That's what we say.
Like looking for a lot of people. You got some skin in the game.
It's always it always makes it for people like us.
It's different because we were betting on it.
So, like we're gonna win and we do fantasy football and we're gonna watch every game and make sure our players are doing well and you know, so it's first is different.
But for like, a lot of people like to go to like the events and have, like like the families over and you know, and have the tailgating and do all that stuff where they could turn around and and dual that.
So you don't really get that euphoria this year and you know, I get it So but like I said, better times are ahead exactly.
