What's up, everyone? I'm Kabeer Champ Sports here starting a new broadcast.
And today I am ranking my top 10 centers in the N b. A.
November 2020 things is my final edition of my top 10 rankings per position.
I've done point guards.
I started, like, two weeks ago.
The point guard shooting guards, small force Power Force.
And then finally, today is going to be centers.
Um, so, yeah, basically every single week.
Well, I do top 10 in the N B a.
I give some audible mentions, there's gonna be no different.
Um, make sure that I did recently do my power forwards one.
If you want to see that, that was on Thursday and yeah, I just without further ado, let's just get into this one.
I just say the center position is actually very great solid players.
There's a lot of solid players in these, um, at the center position today, these air like the top 10 that I think with four honorable mentions that I think that deserves a mention.
Like in case you've taught.
If in case you have them on their list and I didn't I just wanted to mention them because, like, I didn't forget about them.
I just don't have them on my list.
Not all rankings.
They're gonna be the same. But this is just my personal opinion.
And without further ado, let's just get into the list.
Um, so my honorable mentions for the center off position.
I honestly wanted to include more than four because there's a lot of solid players.
Um, but my honorable mentions are Steven Adams, Brook Lopez, Jared Allen and Jonas Valanciunas.
Now Adams is a great grit and grind player.
He always, I think, is always going to be in these discussions just because the numbers aren't like amazing.
Uh, this year, the only averaged 11 points and nine rebounds.
What he did to local.
It's almost a thunder like he's a winning player.
He played great next to Russell Westbrook, and he played great next to Chris Paul, which I thought with the Chris Paul edition, I knew Steven Adams will still play Well.
I don't think the thunder would be as good as they are, obviously being one of the most surprising team and Chris behind like a redemption year.
Um, Steven Adams.
Yes, the stats don't look as good as last year.
Last year you put a 14 points and nine rebounds, but that's fine.
He he is thesis Enter.
He is the main paint defender to the Thunder.
He's the lob threat.
He does all the hustle he is.
He is the strongest player in the n B A.
You don't really want to get, like in with him in the post.
Any playing less minutes.
So I don't think the stats tell the whole story with Steven Adams.
Thank you, Merle Merle Baja fan for joining the broadcast. Much appreciated.
I don't I don't think the stats tell the full story with Steven Adams, and I think he's always going to be in these discussions.
He just he didn't make it.
But his upgrade, like just the way he plays basketball, like, just like you understand where he's come from.
He's came from New Zealand with 14 brothers and sisters like it was crazy.
He was that, but the Hay had some.
He probably had so many people to mentor him, and he's done so well as MIA players really young.
Actually, he's I always think of him like older, Maybe Guy, a veteran.
He is a veteran because he has been the MBA for a while, but he's still 27.
Uh, Brook Lopez.
He's really developed into his game winning player.
He he was like all time leader in Brooklyn.
Nets score Brooklyn Nets, not New Jersey Nets and franchise like Brooklyn.
Nets score. He is the leader.
He was a 2010 guy, a post player, but now he still is great on the post.
Great, on the low block is a great defender all defensive team, but also he can stretch out on the floor.
Um, he can knock it down when he wants to.
He has absolutely no hesitation to take it.
He's 7 ft, no hesitation to take it.
Um, he's a veteran.
He helps winning teams.
Um, he's not a great and he like his rebounding stats haven't been like as great as he was when he played in Brooklyn, However, he kind of sacrifice his role to be part of a winning team.
Thank you for the new follower, Much appreciated.
He's kind of sacrifice his role to be part of a winning team.
That's what you gotta like about him.
He was close to making this top 10.
He's a two way guy.
Um, he just did not.
I got had to give him a mention, though.
Uh, Jared Allen is a young and up and coming center in this league.
He's a great defender.
Good shot blocker can run the pick and roll him.
And didn't Woody or two young guys that work together? Um, like I said, he doesn't can't.
He's like your traditional center great shot blocker.
Good on the pick and roll.
Can't do much else.
Um, isn't a shooter by any means, but he can give you a double double.
He could give you 10 and 10.
He's still really young.
I could definitely see him putting up a 15 intense that line with 23 blocks in his prime.
Um, and then Yoda Sound troops.
I like what he does on the court.
He's offensively based.
He was great for the Grizzlies.
Just kind of like are one of the oldest players despite being pretty young.
Um, and I like what he does on the court.
He just He's a scrappy player.
Um, mediocre defender as a center but like one of the better more offense and you can stretch the floor.
He can stretch the floor pretty well.
Similar Brook Lopez is not as good a three point shooter.
Ah, similar to Brook Lopez, though he actually no.
He did shoot 35% and he can give you Ah, lot like you saw like last year when he was playing when he got traded to the Memphis he was putting up like almost 20 and 10.
So he's an offensive type based center.
Alright, starting off our as our top 10 at number 10.
We have a guy who is really making some good progress up on these.
Listen, I do extra cam Thio.
Keep getting better.
Former number one pick for the Phoenix Suns.
I feel like eight is like one of them are forgotten.
First round picks like first overall picks ever like because Try and Luke are like stealing all the attention.
But this guy, when he played, he did get suspended.
But when he played, he was great.
This year, Um, he was the second best player Him, Like I said, this is what I said e think when I was doing like my small four drinking, uh, hip Devin Booker, Kelly, you, Braila and DeAndre Jordan are all top 10 players in the position.
In my opinion, Kelly uber was my seventh best.
Devin Booker was my fifth best shooting guard.
Aidan got crossing on this top 10.
He's still really young.
He was putting up 18 and 11.
Um, he is has tremendous ability on the defensive end.
Their lead more paint defender.
Like a traditional type of center.
Um, kind of reminds me of Ah, he kind of is a goal of me without a shot.
Just a comparison I put out for him, um, him and Devin Booker and the whole son seems gonna be good next year.
Like, Kluber might get traded, but with that team Kelly, but still 24 there.
So all young Devin Booker, Young DeAndre agents young.
They got Mikhail Bridges. They got Camp Johnson.
They're gonna pick.
Um, they got, uh, von Carter.
They got they kind of need power for, but they got ah, lot.
A lot of good players.
Good pieces, Agent.
Definitely one of them he's in his sop****re year.
I haven't I expect to have a great year next year. Maybe 20 and 10.
Um, I expect him to have a good year next year.
Coming in at number nine on my center list.
We have maybe a guy that might just stay in this range for like, the rest of his career.
He I've never really he's not.
He hasn't been anything to special.
However, He is the one time all star, um offensive generated.
Not great on defense.
Stretch big is, um Nicola Bozovic.
I don't have much to say about him other than the fact he had in great postseason.
Cover girl for during the broadcast. Much appreciated.
He had a great postseason.
Um, he can shoot the ball.
He isn't like the most efficient, but he can shoot it.
Um, he's been the number one option for the number one scoring option for the magic for a while.
Like literally a while.
Maybe like five years.
Um, I guess best year last year put up almost 20 and 20 and 12.
Uh, but in the past, like, 1918, look.
Look like 1918 16 17 2019 this year again.
So he is a great score.
Howard, the defensive end.
He struggled to keep continue on this, and I understand no one in the league can really continue honest.
But he it was bad.
He was bad on defense.
He was great on offense, bad on defense in the postseason.
Uh, and he doesn't do like he's.
No, I don't think he is a winning player now.
He I don't think he can win in Orlando.
I do think he can.
I do think he can maybe claim or of a Brook Lopez role on a good team.
I just don't think he's a winning player scoring 19 a game.
I don't think you're going to be on a contender scoring when Nik Nik Vucevic is your number one scoring auction.
Um, I can see him going into a book.
I do think he's good.
I do think his defense needs to improve.
He isn't even the best shot blocker.
But overall, I think his he always has been a defensive guy.
A double double machine.
Ah, good shooter who are reliable three point shooter is like the best at the center position, even because there have been some great shooting centers.
He isn't the best of the center shooting at the center position.
However, he is reliable.
Um, he still is good.
He still is a good offensive player.
Um, don't think him really made another All Star team again.
I don't see him getting much better, but, yeah, it's just me.
Number eight is a guy that's actually super underrated.
The position because he does it on both ends of the floor. Number eight.
You might think this might be really kind of high, but it iss Serge Ibaka.
Yes, Serge Ibaka.
I do love Serge Ibaka and what he does on the court he has really developed.
This was his best year as a pro.
He went from a I mean the journey that he's had losing his parents at 13 years old, Um, losing his parents at 13 years old, growing up in the Congo and now coming in NBA championship MBA championship winning player, Um, he does it all.
He can do it on both under the floor.
He was crucial to Toronto's success this year.
This year, he put up 15 8.
he is a great shot blocker, literally.
In his rookie season, he put up to two blocks a game.
He's a career two blocks a game guy.
He's like the most monster shot clock because he is an ass athletic at 31 now.
Um, but he does it all on the court can.
He is one of the best shooters shooters at the position.
Um, he can make the extra plays.
The defensive plays, um, he can play face up jumper.
He could play in the post on DNA. He's a free agent.
I really do hope Toronto does bring him back.
He definitely should.
They definitely should.
Prior to as him more than Marc Gasol.
Marc Gasol is kind of in a declining Um, he tells a kind of a winning player with teams that would go after him with, like, Maybe I don't think Marc Gasol should get much money like like what he did like like minimum contracts.
Not a lot of sorry space that I do think Marcus saw.
But Serge Ibaka he he played this year like he deserves some money this year because he was great this year.
Um, you know, Vucevic's has the better staff, but he does more on the court defense offense.
He's what, one of the best at the position on that, And I do think he hoped maybe a team that could use a center or a powerful work is in play, both positions since he is a stretch, but a great shot blockers.
Well, he comes in at number eight on this list.
Now coming in at number seven is I do think is a kind of a guy that putting up legendary statistics but like not doing it, Um, he isn't on a winning team.
In fact, he hasn't really been on a team that is Andre Drummond.
I was gonna actually put six on this list.
Um, I do always considered, usually without the emergence of a guy that I do have in the top five.
You see, I put a number five on my list.
However, I don't this year he had incredible year statistics wise.
I mean, he put up almost 16 rebounds a game.
We have to realize that Andre Drummond is not a winning player, is not a winning player.
He's a good defender.
He's a decent defender.
He's not a winning player.
Rebounding is like Not just he isn't in this era.
He can't shoot the ball at all.
He literally shot.
He literally has a career three point percentage off 10%.
Um, and like I said, he isn't a playmaker.
And yes, he he wasn't a bad team.
He was presumably the best player on the Pistons this year before he got traded with the plus minus of the Pistons with their plus minus.
Without him for the Pistons, they were outscoring opponents found by one point a game.
With him, they were getting outscored by almost 10 points a game.
Because Drummond isn't an elite offensive player, the defense of statistics are a bit like over exaggerated.
I do think some people over tend to overrate him because of the statistics, however, because also the statistics are kind of a good thing as well.
He congrats the extra rebounds anytime and but at the end of the day he's just not really a winning player like I think number six is a winning player.
I think he's a great he's a great player.
Thank you, Jess Man, 45 during the broadcast of number six has really emerged into one of the better centers.
Top 10 Center in the over the past three years had a good bubble. Ryen.
I do think he's sort of underrated at times as well.
My number six is use of nerdish Yusuf.
It's over Andre Drummond.
That doesn't really seem ideal, but I got that can do it on both ends of the floor.
Nurkic is a great score.
He can really give you 18 and 10.
Um, he was able to stretch out to the perimeter.
He isn't like he can stretch out to the perimeter, play in the post.
I feel like he always has this one.
Duck pep search.
Abusive mortgage bubble highlights.
I just try and start that up office Posterized dump with contact.
He like, puts his arm out and then, just like like that.
But that kind of irrelevant.
Um, he's a great player.
The the anchor of the Portland Trail Blazers here, rebounder efficient.
When he scores, he could put up 20.
He's a good good defender and a good Pekan switch out on the perimeter as well, but he is the anchor on the defense.
The best defender on the team.
The center is always the best defender on the team of the Portland Hassan Whiteside.
I did not put his own what's on the list or on the honorable mentions.
You're saying that, um but he does it all.
He can do it all.
He's really gonna be someone like he.
I do like him in Portland.
Um, I do like him in Portland.
However, I just don't know.
Like, what other moves they should dio like they don't.
That hasn't really been like a winning team, but I just don't know what they're gonna dio, but it's gonna be interesting to see.
Okay, So coming in at number five, I do think the top five I did have locked down before anything when I was creating this list.
Number five on my list goes to two time defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.
Um, Gobert has Cem.
Gobert is a to 10 defensive player of the year One the best shot blockers in the MBA runs the pick and roll.
Well, um, and is always a lob threat.
Um great rebounder.
A long wingspan.
He does get exposed at times on the perimeter.
Just because he's not like doesn't have lateral quickness at all.
And it's offensive game.
Well, he is an amazing He is an amazing yes, I do think he is kind of listen.
I do think he's got I don't want to say overrated, But I do think he's not like he is an All Star.
Is the anger for any, um, anchor for any team he goes to.
He just not like he didn't play well in the postseason.
Um, actually, he was better on offense, but he did kind of get exposed by Jamal Murray on the perimeter and even Yokich, um, what come blowing the 31 that they had.
He has some flaws to his games.
He's still in All Star player, but he has some flaws to his games.
I think we can all agree on that and yeah, also, I do want to say that Go Bear is at the peak of his career.
How much better do you think he's going to get? Honestly, I think that really been like he has just been like four years since he's really been like one of the better defensive player of the defenders, shot blockers, All star quality players.
He's not going to get much better than this.
He's going to not.
He's not a I always consider.
I consider him the fourth best center in the league before the bubble.
Now he comes in at number five because Number four is a guy that absolutely deserves the spot.
After what he did in the bubble, he had 32 points to lead the team in a Game six to the N B.
A Finals All Defensive player, Great playmaker.
Um, and maybe if you got didn't get injured in like the first three games of the finals, the Heat would have had a chance.
It is goes toe bam out of bio.
He's gained my respect.
He has gained my respect.
I was like, Listen, when he got nominated as an All Star, I was like, I guess it's the East.
I guess he definitely wouldn't make it in the West, but like, yeah, sure he wasn't.
He's a good defender and a good all around player.
He's more than that address.
Our bio is going to be a superstar.
Uh, he can score.
But the defense without the defense, he's not here.
He had switched on the perimeter.
He's super lengthy.
He's, uh, he's clutch defender.
Um what? It matters most.
He's a good play maker.
He sometimes runs acting pointers.
Do they have, like Jimmy Butler runs acting point guard.
So does Obama Bio because Kendrick Nunn is in the playmaker.
Uh, I still need to add a shot.
I wish he could.
If he developed that, he's gonna be really, really good.
He's gonna be good for a while.
He's like the perfect sent into the martyr MBA switch.
Um, he's super athletic.
His face up jumper from the mid range has really been improving.
Him and Dragic work. Amazing.
He was incredible.
He was a threat in the bubble.
He was a threat.
You had to get someone to get like It was like you think Obama was like, OK, who guard the other team's best player? You need someone great defensively.
The guard Bama's well, his offensive game really took a step.
Um, he was good before the in the season, but he realized took a blast him up in the playoffs.
Like Like we always thought of him as like a defensive minded guy with some offense and all around, like you need someone to guard Bam.
A great player to guard Bam.
Not like some people would.
Sometimes they plugged like, I don't know, maybe Bruce ceviche on Bam Lucy, which is not the best defender, but they sometimes plug them in.
Well, you need someone great on Bam.
And bam is always gonna be guarding the best player.
He's a great player.
He's gonna be Hey, might be climbing all these lists.
He is 23 years old, a big 69 Quick.
He has the perfect tools.
He's gonna be good.
He's gonna be good.
He gave me respect, all right? Coming in at the number three spot.
Could have fallen off bit at this three spot this year, but I still consider him the third best center in the league.
The defense is our right, all right.
His offensive game is legit.
He might be one of the best offensive players in the n B A.
We have the 7 ft Stephan Curry Karl Anthony towns.
If cat was in the playoffs.
Was he making the playoffs? If you leave the team consistently to the playoffs, he would be number one.
He isn't the best defender.
He still needs work on that, and he's been getting better.
However, his offensive game still puts him on the top.
Um, I mean, because the fact that he can put up 26 he didn't go out and give you 30.
I feel like maybe some people are like over hyping him a bit like a couple of years ago.
Now he's earned it.
Now he's earned it.
He took a whole new level.
He's a 50 40 90 guys, a big.
He's a 54 yard. You guys a big.
Playmaker is a double double machine.
Um, he's the He's the offensive weapon post from the post.
He isn't, um, incredible on the post.
He sometimes like, is like the most strongest physical player on the post is three point shot.
You, you better garden.
From out there is defense.
He's not amazing.
Just his offensive game pushes that talk through.
I don't have much to say about him just the fact that he's elite.
He's elite offensively, one of the best in the game right now.
Offensively, Um, that's just the winds are kind of taking to the next step.
Jimmy Butler said that he doesn't work.
And then with Jimmy Butler, they made the playoffs without their one of the worst, and now they have the number one it.
But maybe next year will be a good trade point for Carthy towns with this number one pick that they get or if they traded.
Maybe this this years ago.
This next year is gonna be a good year to prove for Dia de Aza, Russell as well.
And then Karl Anthony, Towns Hill.
He's coming in at number three.
Um, I was gonna say they have, like, two of the top one of the two like the top of their positions.
But that's not even true you.
The point guard position is loaded, and I don't even think I had The low is an honorable mention.
I mean, cat could have been number two.
Cat could have been number four.
He comes in a three, though, over bam.
Here's the thing I always kind of like to use the example if he was on that team.
He feels on that team.
I do that Bam is easing.
He's not a number one option.
Bam is much better defensively.
Cat is so much better offensively with the shot, though, and they probably would have made the finals of Cat was only the Heat right now.
So, yeah, he comes in and over really go.
But I don't think that's a discussion.
Honestly, honestly, that could have been a discussion a couple of years ago.
Right now, Cat is much better than when you go there much better than we go.
Better because of the fact that really go.
Bear can't space out the floor anywhere.
He's just a peek.
He can't do anything or outside defensively or offensively that he can't.
He's a lot in the paint guy, and literally, if you did, you might get three second violations.
Okay, whatever, but he's Captain Spaces floor space.
He's a career 40% 3 point shooter like that's kind of crazy.
So in a 53% field field goal percentage, his offensive game, the efficiency splits as well.
Also put in there because he's super efficient while doing it.
Number two, though, goes to Joel Embiid.
Um, and be didn't have the best year this year.
It could. It could have been better.
Um, however, without Ben Simmons, he They got swept, however, and beat still did this party.
He was still a 27 and 10 guy.
This year in the regular city wasn't nearly as good as last year.
Some people were like hyping them up and say, Like this guy might win M v P.
I was not one of those people.
Um, he still is really impactful defensively.
He isn't like the like, kind of like Rudy Gobert can't really stretch it on the pain.
He's a he's a three point.
Should I do think he's He isn't like dominate, dominant enough in the paint.
I feel like he's sometimes realize, honestly points out a bit more than he should, and he is over 30% and listen, he is not.
He's getting up there.
He's almost going into 2017, so he really has to start like no, we can't consider.
It was I'm like we he got time.
He really needs to start doing.
He wasn't as good of a score rebounder and defenders last year, so that that prevents him of being number one.
However, he still is number two and coming in at number one.
I don't think this is a question anymore.
Number one goes to 76 Giant from E went to U.
C F played on the Celtics this year.
And if you don't agree, then you simply don't watch Hakko fall because no one in the league can be Taco Fall.
I'm just joking.
Yeah, obviously, Taco Fall does get honorable mention, though.
All right, so number one it goes to Nicola Yokich.
Nmb was kind of a debate.
I feel like this year.
Kind of structure a bit.
Yokich did struggle toe start off the year, but this year in the playoffs, he was phenomenal.
He was had some really big moments, and he was a 20 point score.
He is he his playmaking.
He's one of the best play makers in the N B A.
As a center, um, he has so much more success postseason success than be Annie's much young.
He's younger, so he's probably one of the best second over around picks in NBA history.
Crazy to think that this guy was second round, but he's the best center in the N B A.
Alright, so that's gonna be it for me.
My top 10 centers in the N B A.
That's gonna be it for the position rankings.
This was pretty fun.
Just to recap my top 10 centers.
My honorable mentions, um, just deserves a mention here.
Steven Adams Brook Lopez, your Allen and Joonas Violin Sureness number 10, Sciandri 18 Number nines Nik Vucevic number eight Search Ibaka number seven Andre Drummond number six Yousef, Turkish number five Really Gobert number four, bam! Out of bio number three cat currently Towns number two Joe Joe number one Nikolai Yokich.
Thank you, guys. So much for watching.
Could be a chance.
Sports here. See you tomorrow for sparkle Sunday.
Hope you guys enjoy my top 10 point shooting guard.
Small forward, power forward center and I will see you tomorrow.
