I'm Laurence Owen with SportsCastr News, and this is Friday mornings, Thursday Night Football edition and Wow.
Rare out knives last night sat down and we were like, You know what? What? See, we both thought that Green Bay would most likely end up with a minimum beating of them of around 17 points.
And it went well beyond that.
It was a pretty massive beating by the Green Bay Packers.
Kyle Shanahan was just perplexed that he wasn't able to stop Aaron Rodgers.
Uh, there was only one team that was able to stop Aaron Rodgers this year, and that was Tampa Bay.
But you go look at it.
I mean, you don't stop Aaron Rodgers.
When you have you leave guys wide open down field.
You know You know how many passes Davante Adams had in this game? He still caught a flat 10 100 73 yards and a touchdown, and Rogers had five passes over 30 yards This game.
Bald is scant. Ling.
Yeah, he had two catches, but both those catches 53 yards and two touchdowns.
Two catches, two touchdowns.
Wow, what a night.
Erin Jones came out looking really, really good in the first drive of the game.
Tyler Urban came out, played a little bit.
They had a million people running the football.
Aaron Jones, Tyler Urban, Malik Taylor.
Dexter Williams had a couple carries.
Jon Lovett had three carries.
Even Tim Boyle had to carry.
Yes, it was a negative yard, but he still carried it.
Not to mention Aaron Rodgers tucked it and ran for seven once himself.
I mean, my goodness, let's see here.
That's 23 26 31 carries for the Green Bay Packers to go with 31 pass attempts by Aaron Rodgers.
Let's talk about really balanced offense, shall we? I mean, really balanced offense by the Green Bay Packers.
But the Niners defense was the only thing that looked like there was a chance that they could stay in this game.
Their defense in front was still fairly healthy.
Um, unlike, you know, the wide receiving corps or their offense at all.
But they weren't able to do it.
They just weren't able to do it.
Nick Mullins, through some really ill conceived passes.
One time he had a guy dead in his face dead in his face, bringing him down for a sack.
And then he just throws up a prayer, which, of course, gets intercepted.
Of course it gets intercept.
What in the world? Jerick.
McKinnon had 12 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown, Jim, but, uh, yeah, I don't I don't remember that Touchdown.
They scored 17 either way.
Hey, it was a 17 point difference.
That's what I called 17 point difference.
But I said it was gonna be 27 to 10.
Um, I forgot about that.
Jerick McKinnon, Carry for a touchdown.
I did see the Ricci James catch.
Talk about Richey, James.
This kid came out and had himself a game.
Nine catches, 184 yards and a touchdown.
One of these plays before the Green Bay Packer defense completely forgot he was even on the field.
It was embarrassing.
Nick Molins threw the ball probably three or four different times.
It should have been intercepted.
Should have been bad, ill conceived passes the rest of the game.
When he wasn't throwing while under pressure, he looked really good.
But under pressure, he looked like Daniel Jones out there.
I mean, good Lord.
If you go look at the total yardage on this game, it wouldn't look like as big of a blowout as it actually was.
Now, obviously, the Niners score late in this game.
Make it look a little closer.
Green Bay starts playing a little bit softer.
They're late in the fourth quarter.
Technically, San Francisco If it wasn't for blunders by Nick Mullins, There was also some bad referee that catch that first touchdown by Davante Adams could have gone either way either way.
I mean, you have, he catches the football, he comes down, gets 1 ft in, and as he's going out, the only thing that lands in bounds is this forearm.
But his forearm hits inbounds and out of bounds at the exact same time.
So really, all it had to do with was whether or not what the play was called.
And the referees could have just went with whatever it was called on the field.
Either way, whether it was a touchdown or whether it was an incomplete pass, it could have gone either way and probably would have been upheld no matter which call it Waas beforehand.
But it was called a touchdown.
So it was upheld as a touchdown.
Bucks, Mom, Ohio.
Thanks for joining the stream here on SportsCastrs.
We talk about the Green Bay Packers in the San Francisco 40 Niners.
Um, yeah, but one thing I didn't notice Green Bay did run the ball very well against a very solid San Francisco defense, which is something I did not expect.
And they kept San Francisco from running the football.
No props, props to my guy Ray route.
He spoke up earlier last night, said he didn't think San Francisco was going to run the ball on them the way San Francisco ran the ball.
Uh, you know, like they normally like to, because they would be expecting that run.
And they did a good job stopping the run, forcing Nick Mullins to beat him.
And that was the perfect strategy because it's not like they had anyone the past two on the Niners anyhow.
I mean, Ritchie James had a great game.
He's got some specialness to him.
E came out with a couple nice catches.
One of those catches he did was absolutely beautiful.
Uh, Jerick McKinnon, obviously the running back he got a couple catches.
River Craig Craft.
He had a couple catches for 13 yards and got toasted on Twitter over him.
Being out there, John Michael Hasty had a couple catches.
Taylor, Kyle use check.
Should have had two catches but dropped an easy one.
Jordan Reed even had a catch.
But you're looking at these catches and you're like one for 31 for 41 for 9 to 10 to 13, three for 16.
Those air really low average that This means that Nick Molins was throwing the ball.
Generally toe all these guys on little quick dumps and hoping for yards after catch, and it just wasn't happening.
The only guy that was getting yards after catch was Richey James because he was doing everything he could out there and look like a true number one receiver or at least a solid number two.
I think Richie James is gonna be a solid player later on.
If he continues to get reps like this, it's, um, experience.
He's got a lot of speed, he's got some decent hands and he makes good open field moves to get open.
Even though he was wide open on that last catch that he made for a touchdown.
He caught the ball, The safety come out right in front of him.
And it was just a beautiful inside cut that left that safety slipping and falling right on his side as James waltz right past him for the touchdown.
Gorgeous play, but ain't nothing like what Davante Adams had this game.
Oh my goodness, Davante Adams was just catching everything.
12 targets, 10 catches.
Yeah, it's two games in a row that Davante Adams nearly caught two full football fields worth of, uh, passes.
I mean, 173 yards.
That's 373 yards in two games.
Is that like a record or something? Is that even close to a record? Because that's stupid, That is, that is Ridic How do you let one guy eat you up that bad? Hold on.
Let me look at this real quick because I got to know what in the world where Davante Adams is right now in receiving yardage because he is fifth right now, averaging 12.
7 yards a carry, he's normally catching short passes, but he's been getting the last couple games.
He's been getting a ton of them.
He's fifth right behind De Que Matt Calf, Robby Anderson.
Robby Anderson, right? Stefon Diggs and then, of course, DeAndre Hopkins.
But my goodness, man, he's got 53 catches on 63 targets in eight touchdowns, eight touchdowns.
I mean, these air all mostly the leading receivers right now are mostly in the NFC.
Hawkins in Arizona, Robby Anderson and Carolina Metcalfe in Seattle.
Davante, Adams and Green Bay.
Hold on. I'm not done.
Calvin Ridley at number six.
He's in Atlanta Falcon.
Alan Robinson at number seven.
He's in Chicago, D J.
He's in Carolina as well with Robby Anderson so seven out of the top eight receiving yardage leaders right now in the NFL.
Our NFC players, you won't know why that is because the A F C actually plays defense and they run the football.
They're Mawr, known for playing defense and running the football outside of a couple play outside of a couple teams like Buffalo, they mean Stefon Diggs is number two, right? And then you go over here toe.
Kansas City, who likes toe? Throw the football like a crazy person, but generally the A F C plays defense runs the football and the A f c likes the air, the **** out of the football.
So that that's my question is who is when it comes down to the playoffs and it makes it to the Super Bowl.
Who's gonna win a game like that? Who's gonna win the Super Bowl when you got one team that's able to air it out? One team that is able to play defense? British Pats fans.
Thanks for joining the broadcast here on sportscast.
Appreciate you being here.
Well, I think that's enough for talking about the Green Bay Packers.
I can't believe that Shanahan actually thought that he had a shot at winning this game.
Uh, Molins had to have played much better.
They had to run the football a lot better, and their defense definitely had to play better than what they did.
And they just weren't able to.
And because they weren't able to, they lost and they lost big time.
Yes, it's a blowout.
It should have been worse.
It should have been worse, especially with how Nick Mull, Nick Mullins, overall, played pretty decent But like I said, there is a vast difference from what you see from Nick Mullins when he's got a clean pocket and when he's got a hand in his face, I mean a that he goes from looking like Tom Brady.
Almost kind of Tom Brady esque to Daniel Jones.
And that's nuts.
You can't be that bad with pressure in your face now, but he still better.
He looks still looks 10 times better than what Jimmy G.
Has looked like this here.
So I think there's a good possibility that moans end up taking his starting position from Jimmy G.
And Jimmy might end up leaving.
He might go back back to the Patriots, Who knows? Well, see, I don't know, but we'll find out soon enough.
By the end of this season, I wanna thank everybody.
