Good morning, everybody.
FBC Radio Live It is Friday.
We're getting ready for week nine.
We just had Thursday night football last night and we have a shortened show today because my man Mike, he's in trouble with the condo board association.
He was caught walking barefoot in the pool, and there's a big meeting going down at 9.
So we're gonna have to cut to show a little bit short today.
So, Mike, do you care to explain yourself, or is this just the instance of mistaken identity bythe Well, I would just like to say that I'm being targeted unfairly.
Um, yeah, that's That's a bad impression, folks, I can tell you that.
I really, really can't.
And I won't be able to do what we saw yesterday Evening justice.
So Well, let's just say look on.
Unfortunately, the rules here it taste to Del Boca Vista have to be enforced.
I have to realize that I have to adhere to the rules, and that's exactly what I'm going to be doing from here on.
And so, uh, it's great to be with you on a Friday anyway, buddy, you know you gotta do some NFL picks and, you know, definitely make our voices heard as we move into the weekend.
Heard? Heard her. That's right.
And, of course, Friday we usually give our pick.
So we're gonna jump right into that here in a moment, because again, we do have a shortened show.
We want toe put it all out there.
And we'll, of course, share it on social media as we do every week, courtesy of our friends over a tally site.
So check them out last night.
I mean, honestly, it was exactly how I expected it to go.
We talked about it on Wednesday.
Uh, you know, this is obviously a rematch of the NFC championship game, but this wasn't the 40 Niners as we know them.
You know, between injuries and all the covert issues they were they were obviously not the same team.
And and it just kind of, you know, expected that everyone's like, Oh, you know, big win by the Packers.
I'm like, yeah, you know, it's a nice win.
They did what they were supposed to do.
You know, the 40 Niners aren't a great team right now, And, uh, so no Packard moved to six.
And to Aaron Rodgers has He's continuing the trend that we talked about yesterday with him.
Brady obviously Russell Wilson And, you know, even even Patrick Mahomes is sneaking his way in there in terms of the M V P debate.
But we're gonna focus on this upcoming weekend's games because, of course, like I said, we only have 24 minutes.
Uh, big shout out.
19 years ago today, 24 premiered Greatest Show ever.
Uh, you know, in my opinion, of course.
And that's the only one that matters on the show.
So we're going to stick with that.
24 premiered November the sixth, duked out 2000 and one.
Mike, it was It was a long time ago.
Um, I remember it.
I know you remember it.
Uh, it's just Hey, 19 years.
They're just kind of floating by.
Ready talk, some football games.
Definitely ready to talk some football games. Okay.
So last week we obviously saw the Patriots and the Buffalo Bills square off In what way? Thought was a pretty big game for the Patriots, and it was, unfortunately, lost the bills get to go up against Seattle this week.
And look, I I think some of the luster of the buffalo of the bills has certainly worn off since the first four weeks where they came out looking, like, you know, gangbusters and all that.
Uh, I think Seattle, despite their issues on defense, is gonna have a fairly I don't want to see easy.
I think they're gonna have a fairly, uh, chalk it up type of game.
You know, where they just go out and do what they dio.
And, uh, look, I think Buffalo is a good team.
I just don't think they were as good as we first thought.
And I think it's gonna show when they go up against a pretty dominant Seattle team, especially on offense.
So I got Seattle winning this one.
Um, yeah, I have Seattle one in this one as well.
Look, buffalo to me last week showed some signs of weakness.
And I'm not gonna sit there and say that I believe that Oh, there, you know, just a nautical ran or there were mirage or smoking mirrors.
This is still a very good football team, but I don't think they're necessarily the dominant force that everybody thought they could be.
There's a lot still that needs to be short up on that defense.
They run defense has been pretty porous.
The Patriots were able to gas them that periods last week.
Seattle was very predicated on being able to run the football.
I like Seattle in this one, and I think they will take this at Buffalo.
This next one is pretty interesting because I've actually we both sat here and tried to figure out what the Chicago Bears are.
Um, even with Nick Foles at quarterback, I think that's obviously there.
You know, their Achilles CEO.
I mean, they're just not great at the quarterback position, and that's kind of in the case for a very long time.
Um, I e I went back and forth on this because I think obviously I like Tennessee.
I think they I don't know I had.
I almost went put Chicago on this one, but at the end of the day, I went Tennessee.
I do think Chicago's gonna keep it pretty close, and I think this is gonna kind of come down to the wire.
But I do like Kansas City Thio, R Kansas City, Tennessee.
Thio, take this one I like.
I like Tennessee to take this one as well.
Look, I think Chicago's defense right now can keep them in enemy game.
There's no question about it.
That's an elite defensive unit.
But offensively, you never know what type of Bears team you're going to get.
If Nick Foles shows up in plays his game, this could be a pretty good game and maybe has a chance to be one of those. Sleeper.
It's over the weekend, but if folks continues to struggle in Chicago can't get its running game on track.
Tennessee is gonna be able to eat them alive, and I think that that could get out of hand pretty quickly.
I think virtue is gonna lie in the middle.
I think Chicago is gonna play better offensively than a lot of people expect them to.
But at the end of the day, I think Tennessee is the better team on both sides of the ball.
I like the Titans in this one.
Yeah, and then look and they slow down Derrick Henry, I don't know.
I don't know if anyone could slow down Derrick Henry and that could.
That could make for a long day for Chicago.
I I do think it's gonna be a good game, though I don't I don't think either way, even if Chicago does win this game or, you know, if Tennessee, I think we both expect them to win, Uh, I don't think it's gonna be a blow out.
So next we got the Chiefs and we got the Panthers.
You know, obviously I again, you know, the the Chiefs are are obviously the better team.
I think the Panthers are a team that you know, that they're exceeding expectations a little bit.
They certainly, uh, exceeded expectations without Christian McCaffrey.
And if I if I remember correctly, if I saw correctly, it looks like he's on pace toe play this weekend.
Is that right, Mike? Or am I just making things up like to a certain people that go on TV? National television? No, no, no, no.
Unlike, unlike some unfounded accusations, we have proof of this know there has been some.
There has been some chatter this week that he will be able to give it a go has not been chatter.
I like you like chatter.
You're like, Well, what I'm saying.
It's six with a loose 24 thing where it's like there's always chatter being monitored or something.
Well, we've got to put that in there, of course chatter.
And within the hour, we expect some news on that.
All kidding aside, folks, out there.
E didn't have to sound bite for it, right? See, if you couldn't guess Woody and I are gonna be watching this weekend with Patriots football.
I actually had the Buccaneers.
They're not playing until Sunday night.
Yeah, uh, anyway, but what we're talking about, we were talking about Carolina in Kansas City.
And yet there is some indications that Christian McCaffrey may be able to give it a go in this not confirmed yet, folks, So it still could go either way.
But even with McCaffrey back in the lineup, Kansas City is still playing well on both sides of the ball.
You've mentioned my homes now is right in the thick of an M v p, you know, consideration and deservedly so.
I think Kansas City wins this, but I don't think they win this going away.
I think Carolina gives them a game, but I think Kansas City comes out on top.
It's important to note to and keep an eye on, especially if McCaffrey does play that the absence of Chris Jones could be a big deal. Um, absolutely.
Look, I I don't think Look, if Carolina goes out and wins this game on Sunday, it's not.
It's not gonna be It's not gonna be like, Oh my God, what's happening? The world's upside down.
No, it's It's Carolina is a good team.
They're, you know, they're not quite championship contender team.
But, you know, it's you're gonna have weeks where they're not gonna play.
Well, last week against Atlanta was probably one of those.
Maybe you can chalk that up to a divisional thing, but you know, there's there's gonna be times where they're gonna hang with the big guns.
And, you know, this could be in a situation where that does happen.
Although I don't think that they're gonna win this game.
It should be interesting, though.
And yeah, So I think we both have Kansas City on that one, I would imagine.
Denver at Atlanta.
Um, look, I know Atlanta.
Look, there's nothing.
There's no gift that keeps on giving more than 28 to 3.
And and it z crossed beyond the sports realm to I mean, this is in every day life.
This is in politics.
This is this is everything 28 to 3 will forever be part of the lexicon of just our culture.
Uh, just because of just the cir***stances with it.
I couldn't be happier on I'm sorry, Lil Jon, if Georgia does come through, I'm still gonna give you crap about 28 to 3.
I might might hold off for, like, a month, but I'm sorry.
I can't promise anything when it comes to not mentioning that, Uh, day one last week.
They're not gonna win this week.
I like Denver in this game.
Um, I don't think either team is particularly good.
I think Denver's at least kind of, you know, on the rides.
Whereas I think Atlanta, you know, they're just kind of hanging in there.
Um, I like Denver, and this one is gonna be pretty close.
It is probably just not gonna be a great football game.
I mean, maybe you'll get some, uh, new drew lock, uh, Jeff dance moves or whatever, but other than that, I'm not.
I'm honestly not too excited about this game.
Yeah, we're really like minded this week.
I'm going with the Denver Broncos, and this one is Well, look, Atlanta is kind of a Jekyll and Hyde team.
At times, they show flashes of what they could be.
And and there's talent on both sides of the ball there.
But the problem is, is putting it all together and keeping it all together.
And that's something Atlanta has not been able to do since Super Bowl 51.
So you know what we look at Denver this year.
I've had a chance to see them, you know, play with Drew, lock in the line up with their running game.
That's better than people give it credit for.
I think they're capable of making plays.
I like them to come out on top this weekend.
I think they win this one by a touchdown.
Next, we got the Vegas Raiders heavily fined Vegas Raiders, by the way.
They got they got e don't want to say hammered or I will say hammered, but I'll say it in a very snarky, sarcastic manner.
They got hammered by the NFL for their Covic violations, but they're heading Thio San Diego or Los Angeles.
E screwed up. That's been a while since I did that.
The heading to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers a f C West battle.
Uh, I like the charges in this one.
Um, you know, both the teams are kind of right in the thick of the second place battle in the A F C West.
Obviously, I think Kansas City's kind of separated themselves and then, you know, expectedly so.
But the Raiders have played well at times.
The charges have played well.
Uh, just Herbert has been a great find for them, and he's exciting young player to watch, but he is a young player, so he can be prone to some mistakes.
I do like again.
I do like the Chargers in this game.
Um, not having Trent Brown's gonna hurt again for the Raiders.
I do think the Chargers, they're gonna be able to pull this up, but this is gonna be pretty close.
It's a divisional matchup.
So, you know, this could end up being a pretty exciting game.
Yeah, I actually think this could be the exciting game of the weekend, and no one is, well, Election saying no one that not a lot of people were talking about.
I think the way these two teams matchup is gonna be fascinating.
You look at the charges defense in the past, Russian how predicated they are on that.
Can they stop Derek Carr in that? That offense in Las Vegas Patriots later.
Pretty good blueprint.
When I watched this team of couple of weeks ago same thing on the opposite side of the ball.
Justin Herberts playing at a high level.
Can they finally put it all together? Sorry, my mic was muted for a second.
So I'm not terribly like delayed when it comes Thio responding.
But you said Blue Las Vegas, Nevada.
I just again my mind's elsewhere.
Anyways, g o we've We've got electoral maps on the plane.
Were trying to focus on the NFL picks.
Uh, no. In all kidding aside, I do.
I like the team in blue for this one as well I think the Chargers were able to take it to the Raiders.
I think Justin Herbert finally puts it all together with the receiving corps and the running game that he has alongside him.
I think the charges win this in a close one against the Vegas Raiders.
They were going muted myself again.
Next, we have the battle of two young quarterbacks, first round picks.
We got two of us Kyler figures.
I messed up Tyler's name when I tried to pronounce it.
I think we're you know, we've talked about Miami.
I think they made the right move to go to, to to go to Thio.
He had a pretty good debut.
I mean, I think this Miami team is is talented in a lot of ways we're seeing.
I really think we're starting to see Bryan Flores is influence and the fact that he is a really, really **** good coach.
So, uh, they can win in a lot of ways.
I think this is gonna be an exciting matchup, though, because you have obviously the, you know, two on one side.
You got Kyler Murray on the other two.
Very exciting young quarterbacks.
I do think the Cardinals, they're gonna win this one? Because I do think at the end of the day, they are the better team with the more weapons.
And I mean, DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald.
I mean, the list goes on.
So, uh, this has the potential, though, to be a pretty exciting game, though this could this could go either very high scoring or very low scoring.
And I'd be here for either one.
So So I really did.
We really did drink from the same coffee.
Well, this morning, folks.
Crap I'm looking at.
I'm looking at your picture, dammit, Alright, I like I like the cardinals in this one as well.
Look, I think to I did a very good job of coming in playing, you know, with the Dolphins.
They get a big win last week in his debut, but there were issues that you can see with a rookie quarterback.
And Carla Murray is a second year quarterback.
He's a young quarterback, but he is a second year guy, and I think that seasoning I think that experience is gonna carry them to victory in this.
I like Arizona over Miami in a close one Because that Miami defense is playing at a very high level right now.
Next, we have the Baltimore Ravens.
Almost called them the Baltimore Baltimore Colts.
Like what? What? What am I thinking? The brain is Yeah, Well, yeah, that z clearly my my you could tell my brain can only handle so much information at once before it just starts to kind of mash it all together.
Uh, that pretty much the Ravens are heading thio Indianapolis to take on the Colts.
Uh, you know, I think I I think there has been, you know, some identity issues when it comes to the Ravens.
Obviously, they're Lamar Jackson hasn't played as well as they did last year.
Um, and you know, he's gonna have to step it up a bit if they want to continue Thio to keep pace with teams like the Steelers and the Chiefs and some of these other A f C teams.
Uh, the last time they played 2017, Certainly not with these two quarterbacks involved, because, well, Philip Burgers is in his first season in Indianapolis, but the Ravens air coming off a pretty tough loss to Pittsburgh, a game that they could have won.
Uh, Indianapolis is pretty big win over Detroit.
You know, Philip Rivers has had a decent season.
I mean, you know, Philip is a is an older quarterback, that he's a traditional older quarterback.
When you look at you know how he performs and everything like that.
I actually almost went with the colts with this one.
I don't know why I just went.
I went back and forth.
I'm really not sure what a game I'm gonna expect out of either team.
And, you know, to be honest with you, I think I might have fallen back on the safe pick, though, because I ultimately landed on the Ravens.
So are we going to disagree here, Mike? Or we got to say, you know, step, step to stop are we are gonna be doing the same thing the whole time, going through these pictures, just taking the same one.
We're gonna be different.
Sadly, sadly, no, we're not going to be different.
I also went with the Baltimore rate for the reason that you said had a chance to win.
That's a heartbreaking loss for a team like Baltimore.
You either rally from that or you shrink from it, and I don't think this is the type of team that shrinks from it for all intents and purposes.
And believe me, folks, there is no love lost between the Ravens fan base and the Patriots fan base.
It's tough for me to sit there and say it, but Baltimore is made out of that type of stuff.
They will rally from a loss like that.
They'll give it their best effort and they'll be able to go out there at the end of the day.
I think they have more talent but wouldn't shock me to see the Colts win this game, either.
So I like Baltimore in a close one.
But keep an eye on this one a sharp eye this weekend, folks, this has a chance to be a really good game.
Detroit at Minnesota.
Battle of a F C North rivals trying to keep pace somewhat with the Green Bay Packers, who sit at six and to Minnesota, obviously beat them. Last week.
I got Detroit in this game.
I actually think this is gonna be a pretty easy one for them.
I still don't really believe in the Vikings.
I, you know, this is coming from someone who really believed in them heading into the season.
And, uh, since we have a shortened show, we're not gonna be able to get to my 20.
Predictions will do that on Monday.
We'll really jump into that and have some fun because, you know, hey, some of them gonna be right, so we're gonna gonna be very wrong.
But in this case, I do have Detroit winning this game.
I mean, that's all I really got.
Short amount of time.
I don't wanna go into it to too much, But for the first time, for the first time this this morning, my friend, we do differ.
And the reason being is, we're not quite sure what met staff for its status is gonna be for this game on the covert list right now.
To be fair, I e made this selection before that kind of happened yesterday, so yeah, so I'm sticking.
I'm sticking with what I was going with before.
So anyway, and you know what? In the in the long run, you may end up being right because I think Detroit does have the more talented team on both sides.
of the ball this year, they're playing a little bit better.
But if Stafford can't go, what does that do to their offensive rhythm? Does that derail it? Is this an opportunity from Minnesota to step in and show again? This is a team that does have some talent, folks.
So I like Minnesota in this one.
I'm gonna go with the Vikings close game, but it wouldn't surprise me to see it go the other way.
And if Stafford e think my good friend on the other end of the microphone is gonna be spot on here, it'll be It'll be a first time if I have spotted because, actually, no, You know what my my my pick percentage has has risen the last couple week, so I'm getting better.
Next, we got the Houston Texans at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
We might differ on this one because I don't know if you want to consider this an upset, but I'm picking the Jaguars in this game.
Maybe we're gonna differ again.
We are going to defer again.
But I'm not surprised that you went with the Jaguars because I came very close.
This was a toss up in a pickup game for me.
I'm really not thrilled.
Are impressed with either team this year again, I'm going with the DeShaun Watson factor.
I am impressed with him.
I still think he is an elite quarterback in this league. Andi.
I do believe that he'll be able to do enough to be able to carry the Houston Texans to victory.
But again, Jacksonville is kind of one of those teams that you never know which team you're going to get.
I like to call them the Jekyll and Hyde teams.
I did it earlier today, so they're a team that could give you a game, and they're a team that could end up going out and not looking so great.
So I'll go with Houston, my gut on this.
But again, another one to keep an eye on.
Folks, I think you're on to something with Jacksonville.
Uh, football team host the New York football Giants.
The Giants obviously gave a little bit of a scared to the Bucks.
Um, you know, maybe maybe it was just Maybe it's just something to do with the Giants and Tom Brady.
I'm not, You know, I'm not really going to get into that.
But I like Washington in this game.
Um I mean, it's the NFC East it Z who's gonna suck less A to this point.
So I think the football team's gonna suck less in this game and, you know, limited victory.
You know, buddy, for all of the agreement that we were doing, this is actually gonna be pretty good.
We're actually going the other way.
Now I am going with that New York football giants, and you know, in a lot of ways I saw some chefs, um, flashes of what this team could end up being down the line, and you wonder what this team would look like with, say, Kwan Barkley on the line.
But that being said, I think Joe judges that a fairly good job.
It's very difficulty for Giants fans, I think, to hear one and seven and say the coach has done a good job, but he's kept this team competitive and most of the games they've been in, I think they have enough to beat Washington.
We'll see what happens on the field.
This another game, the NFC East.
Who knows what type of game you're going to see from both teams.
Washington still can play well on both sides as well.
But at the end of the day, I think the Giants were able to make enough plays.
They went toe to toe with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and I think it carries over this week.
Um, speaking of the NFC East, we got Pittsburgh 70 Pittsburgh.
Look, I I know we've differed on the last three, but I'm guessing we're not going to differ on this one.
Um, are you gonna be? Are you gonna be man enough, Mike to take the Dallas Cowboys in this one? Can you e s.
Pittsburgh It is what it is.
It's Pittsburgh's a really great team, potentially the best team in the NFC, potentially best team in the NFL.
I I'm not saying that they are.
I do think that they are certainly one of the very few teams that have the right Thio stake that claim, so we'll see how that plays out.
I do think that they're gonna win pretty easily this weekend.
So now we get to Sunday Night Football and then eventually Monday night football, which, of course we will spend more time on on Monday, but we have a big matchup.
The Bucks are hosting the New Orleans Saints.
It is the second matchup between these two teams.
Obviously, they kicked off the season together in New Orleans of Saints victory again.
That was the first time a lot of these players are have been together with the Bucks.
And you know what? Their their debut in another new player on Sunday as well.
Look, I I've been pretty consistent with this.
I think I don't want to say it's a mirage, but I I'm not sold a much on the same six and to record.
Let's put it that way.
I think the Bucks are clearly a better team.
I think they have a better quarterback.
I think they have better offensive weapons.
I mean, you could say that about just about any team in the league, you know, save for Kansas City and their offensive weapons.
But I think this is a Bucks win, and I think they wouldn't by two scores.
You know, I just I I like what I have seen from this offense, and, uh, I think Antonio Brown is gonna add a pretty dynamic dimension to this team.
I like the bucks in this one as well.
Look, bottom line, I think this is gonna be a close one.
I think it probably is gonna be less than two touchdowns.
Of course it could.
It could go that way.
And if it does, I think that tips in the favor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But at the end of the day, I think this will be a close game.
I think New Orleans is finding its rhythm a little on offense.
It'll be interesting to see if Michael Thomas ends up going in this one.
Uh, if he does, then I like New Orleans chances to keep it close.
If he doesn't, then I think Tampa Bay pulls away a little bit.
But regardless of the lineups, Tampa Bay is just playing at a higher level on offense and on defense right now, that carries them to victory.
Yeah, and and look, I mean, it's it's work monitoring, but, you know, true Christmas practices Well, so we'll kind of see how that goes, folks.
Thank you very much.
We're going to save our Monday night picks for well Monday because, hey, that's that's that's what we do here.
So we're gonna preview Monday Night Football between the Patriots and the Jets, then, uh, enjoy Sunday's games.
I know we're cutting it a little bit short, but my, me and Mike's gotta gotta take off here.
He's got some disciplinary, uh, committees to attend, you know, with his foot, his barefoot walk through the pool area.
Boca Vista board.
It's tough, man.
It's tough to go before the board.
Yes, but we will.
We will be back Sunday.
We have fantasy football show at 11 with Kyle Center.
We will be on after the afternoon and evening or late afternoon games around 7 30 or so to recap preview Sunday Night Football a little bit more in depth.
And then, of course, we will be back here on Monday morning.
