Upcoming matchup tonight versus San Francisco 40 Niners.
Let's delve in tow.
What went wrong with the Green Bay Packers for Week eight against the Minnesota Vikings? As many of you guys know, the Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 28 to 22 at Lambeau Field.
Their record now stands at five and two.
They're still in first place in the energy North.
But I simply want to direct it to you. Sam.
What What went wrong with the package in week eight? Oh, my run defense went wrong.
E I mean, our offense.
It's not like our offense was absolutely terrible.
Rogers had, um a few bad passes, but some a lot of them weren't really his fault.
Ah, lot of them.
Where have them? We're not even like MBS couldn't catch the ball.
You know, I was hoping to see a lot of the queue brown this year.
A little bit more production out of him.
Um a lot of it was dropped passes from him.
Eso I mean, not necessarily like the struggling of the offense.
I wouldn't even say it was on Aaron Rodgers.
I think I would say it was on some of the receivers.
Tight as I felt played.
Well, I thought Jay Stern Burger played well.
I thought Robert Town and played well.
But two words Let me You said this before we're going on there.
Dalvin, Cook Delvin cooked us.
Hey, went he put four touchdowns like 100 something 197 or something? Um, under 200.
I don't remember, but all I know is four touchdowns.
My traders and played played less than 10 snaps.
He played six snaps throughout throughout the entire game, which to me, is unacceptable.
Um, played well last week and my pet and cultural last week and I guess the last week against the Texans.
Or I guess, two weeks ago against the Texans now.
Um, but even the secondary, like the secondary, went from the game against the Texans.
Chemistry was there.
Everything was in sync.
The defense was in sync.
Um, to we don't know what, like this is not the agreement packers we've seen the first few weeks of the season leading up to that point, and it almost seems like, um, we talked about them getting destroyed against the Buccaneers author by a week, and it's the second this is the second year.
Now, like again like Matt LeFort in the second season.
They've lost that.
They've lost on the by.
They lost 37 8 last year against the Niners on Sunday night, and they lost against the Buccaneers in Tampa.
Um, that's two straight seasons the first two seasons under at the floor, losing under the by or losing coming off the bye week.
Something's got to change.
Our mo mentum has to change.
I think our momentum, um, it needs to come back.
And it seems like after our bio wake the first few games or so our momentum starts to get kind of effect.
That it kind of gets lopsided but are run.
Defense is no joke.
Right is a joke.
Um, but I am really upset.
We didn't do anything at the trade deadline in terms of defensive line.
I personally wanted a defensive lineman over a wide receiver.
Um, you know, I both want to Quentin Williams.
Apparently, jets weren't even shopping him.
Eso I mean, I guess if you want to go that route, I would have loved Shelvey Harris.
But, hey, we've got guys available.
I don't see the Packers doing anything but run defense is an absolute joke.
Something needs to change.
Yeah, you're definitely 100% correct, Sam.
All the points that you made, I would also have to agree to words.
That's what went wrong with the Green Bay Packers.
And then on top of that, I mean, we look at Aaron.
Rodgers rarely misses his throws, But remember, he had a wide open J.
Sternberg ER, and he just missed it.
If he makes that path, Stern Burger either has a walking touchdown or a solid gain of 25 30 yards and its first and goal, and it's a different ball game.
And also there was one play that really that really irked me.
We were down 14.
There's eight minutes left in the ball game.
In the fourth quarter, it's fourth down, and clearly Tanyon was held before the ball came in.
They threw the flag and then they picked it up and said, No call the reason why I was upset with that is because all game they were calling that pass interference, whether it's for the Packers or the Vikings.
Obviously you watch it.
They were calling it all game P I.
Any little bit of contact, A little bit of hold.
They called that pass interference and that same exact thing happened.
They threw the flag and then they picked up a no call.
I would have had no problem if they didn't call it.
I was like, ****, that's just a miss call but they didn't throw the flag.
But you throw the flag and then you pick it up and say, No, call that That changed the game.
I mean, we're talking If Green Bay goes down and scores a touchdown with that drive, and then the same scenario happens with the bathrooms driving less than two minutes and scores a touchdown.
We're talking about a different ball game, but you know, it's still no excuse for what Green base would run.
Defense was against album cook.
I mean, we look at.
In the two games we played, the Minnesota Vikings, Dalvin Cook had almost a grant a total of 300 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
That that is no excuse.
Like like when the Green Bay Packers play the Panthers and the Titans back to back weeks.
I'm gonna be very concerned with our run defense because you got two of the best running backs in the league going to face you back to back weeks and it is very hard.
I mean, we look at this is the same Packers team is last year.
I mean, granted, the offense is much better this year compared to last year.
But we look at the run defense.
It's the same exact thing.
They can't stop the run.
We saw it in the NFC championship game last year.
We saw it when we first appointed hours in Week 12 last year, and it's the same story line this year.
Dalvin Cook cooked us as it correlates to his last name, Alvin Kamara, when you play the Saints had the best game of his career against our run defense.
We're not even gonna talk about that.
That was just a bad game from start to finish.
But overall, hopefully that was a wake up call for Green Bay because I mean you look at and what's sad to me is the defense played so well against the Houston Texans in Week seven.
It was probably the best game from our defense this year.
Like the way how we were able to shut down to shop Watson the way how we were able to stop the run.
It looked like our defense made a corner turn.
It looked like our our defense.
We're starting to get better and then to go and have this kind of performance against the Minnesota Vikings.
It was pathetic.
Now, hopefully, this upcoming game they start to short things up, especially with all the Niners injuries.
But overall five and to record is not bad.
It's not a bad record, but you look at the games that we lost.
We should be way.
Should be six and one.
If we're if we're being honest, we should be 6 to 1.
If we would have stopped down and cook, we would have won this game easily.
But we didn't get the job done and we're five and two now.
I I think the reps were questionable, but I mean, I don't really think that changes the outcome of the game.
I don't think the Packers.
I don't think the Packers deserved to win that game.
Um, but yeah, yeah, and even even if Green Bay did come back and when I came, I still would have been disappointed just because it's like you play great at the end.
But how come you couldn't play like that? The same reason I feel against the Saints like Yeah, but the Saints is a good win.
But you still didn't stop Alvin Kamara.
Yeah, definitely 100%.
Let's move on to tonight's matchup Thursday Night Football Before the season started, I think we were all looking forward to this matchup.
A rematch of the NFC championship game.
Obviously, now, now this matchup is totally different.
The Niners air one of the most injury riddled teams we have ever seen.
I mean, I mean, you look at the inactive list for the 40 Niners tonight.
No, Jimmy Garoppolo.
Nobody moster no Telvin Coleman.
No. Deebo. Samuel.
Kendrick Born no George Kittle.
They don't even have Trent Williams.
They don't have their center.
And on the defense of style of All know Nick Bosa know Solomon Thomas No Dee Ford, You just treated Kwon Alexander.
I don't think Richard Sherman is playing as well.
I mean, you look at this is the most injury riddled we have ever seen from the 40 Niners as a whole.
And then even on the Green Bay Packers side of the side of the ball, you don't have all those art.
Erin Jones is questionable.
Bachtiar e, I believe, is questionable.
You don't have Kevin King.
Jamal Williams is an active.
Come on, Martin's inactive.
I mean, it's a very injury riddle kind of Thursday Night football game, and we look at the records are much different.
Green Bay is going into this game five and two, still in first place, and we have the 40 Niners there meddling 504 and four and the bottom of the NFC West.
So definitely different outlook this time around compared Toa last season.
I think everybody thought, you know when before the season started, this would be the key matchup of the year, especially when these two teams last faced off in the NFC championship game.
But you know, things changed throughout the season.
I just want to kind of have your first thoughts.
Sam, what are your first thoughts.
You know, going into this match up before the season compared.
Compared to now, like, what is your confidence for the Green Bay Packers today? Then it was maybe before the season started.
I think shortly after the Vikings game on Sunday, I think the Packers were opened up to favorite.
Or I think the Packers opened up his favorites to win this game.
Actually, they just announced this morning Kendrick born was a false positive.
But Kendrick born is still out.
Eso they're still having the same players out.
I think they're they're receivers now tonight because I use not playing now.
Um, I bet they're really regretting.
I was really surprised they caught Dante Perez and Dante Pettis was signed with the Giants yesterday.
Eso really nice pickup for them.
I think he's got a lot of potential.
It's just unfortunate.
He was just buried in the depth chart with the Niners, but their receivers dinar Trent Taylor, who is questionable, have Richey James s.
I think we see a lot from I think we see a lot, maybe a little bit more tight end schemes, but for sure a lot of the passing game because there are everyone's gonna be Jermichael hasty tonight.
A man may be a little bit Callie use chick, but I think this seems going to be more of the passing game, and I do feel more confident in this team.
But I don't think it's gonna be a blowout.
And it's not that.
I think the Niners, they're going to surprise us as I think the Packers they're going to surprise us because Matt the floor again is from the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, and we don't know what Nick Mullins.
We don't know what Nick Mullins we're going to get because there's some games where Nick Mullins is on his game.
He's not elite like great, but he still performs, like at a decent level to win them football games.
But then there's a There's another side of Nick Mullins that is just not good at all.
His decision making his really bad.
And then he'll get benched again for Garoppolo or even Blaine Gabbert, who's now they're Cube or their third string because Garoppolo and Kittel are most likely done for the season.
Um, I think this is a big game for the Niners and I think the Niners, I think the Niners might not even make the playoffs.
I only see two teams coming out of this coming out of the NFC West making the playoffs.
Obviously, Seattle, Um, and I'm gonna say Arizona.
I think it's gonna be a really tight one against with Arizona Cardinals in Los Angeles Rams.
But after the way the Rams played and Jared Goff on Sunday against the Dolphins against rookie quarterback debut to a title by Low, I don't think did a bad job.
I think it's a great building.
E think it's a great game to build off of.
We didn't see too many deep passes from two.
Uh, we saw a lot of short passes like Bryan, Flores said.
He did want to rush him into the offense.
I don't necessarily agree with finishing Fitzpatrick for two, especially to were coming off the hip injury.
Now to a doesn't have the hip injury.
I think he goes number one of the Bengals, but that seems a conversation for another day.
But um yeah, I would say I'm definitely more confident and I would the player I'd probably be looking at the stop.
I don't really see any threats to this offense right now.
But if I had to pick, I would maybe go to Michael Hasty or even, um, Nick Mullins.
But I think the Nick Mullins depends on which Nick Mullins we're beginning tonight.
Yeah, 100% with all those takes, I am.
I'm definitely more confident in Green Bay this upcoming game.
Before the season when Sam and I did our season predictions, all of us had the losses to the 40 Niners in Week nine because we expected a fully healthy 40 Niners squad with carob Hello with Kittel.
Everybody back in healthy, but they're so injury riddled.
I mean, we like a green base opening up as 6.
5 point favorites at San Francisco.
I feel a lot more confident in this game, especially, you know, we have Aaron Rodgers as our quarterback, you know.
I mean, San Francisco, they have Nick Mullins.
I mean, it's kind of one of those where we we don't really know what kind of Nick Molins we're going to see.
Kind of like what Sam stated.
And even on the bench, I think their backup is C. J. Beth.
If if I'm not mistaken, like I think it goes Garoppolo, Molins and Beth Third, you might be right.
I mean, you look at it's one of those where we don't know what kind of McMullen's we're going to expect.
But I am definitely more confident for Green Bay this upcoming game, especially with our humiliating loss to Minnesota last week on Sunday.
Hey, I think comes into this game more motivated because they feel like they let the last game slip away out of their hands.
So I felt good, definitely going into this game looking and especially with Chicago right behind them at five and three.
I think they look at this game and say, You know what? We have to win this game to maintain a foot a foot a step ahead.
Other Chicago Bears because if we lose this game, we have the same record of Chicago Bears at five and three, and that Week 12 matchup would come into very huge effect.
But I think in Green Bay, if we lose this game, I don't think we're a threat in the playoffs.
I don't think we're as big of a threat in the playoffs.
Yeah, you're definitely right with that one.
But if Green Bay does come out on top of this game, it would definitely keep us a step ahead in the NFC North and still keep us in the runnings for a potential number one seed in the NFC.
If we have a chance to get that, UH, let's move on to on the Green Bay Packers side of the ball.
Our offensive EVP for this game and potential defensive MVP.
Let's start off with the offensive side of the ball.
I'll go to you, Sam, who you believe is gonna have a great game for the Packers offense tonight against the 40 Niners.
I'm going to Monte Adams on this one.
Um, Richard Sherman is not playing.
They haven't depleted secondary the run defense.
Their run defense, obviously is struggling with injuries to, But they still do have driven kin law and Eric Armstead.
Um, so I think those are potentially guys to worry about.
I mean, my defensive player and watch for the Niners is gonna be Eric Armstead.
Um, especially since they don't have Kwon Alexander patriot for Kiko Alonso.
But I wouldn't be surprised, especially for the fact that the Niners shut down their facility the past, like, I think day or two.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kiko Alonzo doesn't even play.
Um, because he literally just got traded the week he's been with the team for less than a week.
Um and yeah, but I've got Davante Adams.
I mean, I think I don't think it's necessarily going to be a field day, but I think Davante Adams is gonna be the top target for Aaron Rodgers.
I have to agree with you as well, Sam. I also have the Vontaze.
I was thinking about whether to go with Aaron Rodgers or Davante Adams, But I'll go with the Vonta, and I was just like you just because of what you said.
I mean, they don't have Richard Sherman.
And what secondary options do? Do they really have? It's It's not a lot of good secondary pieces for for the San Francisco 40 Niners, and I think the Vonta is gonna have a bounce back game.
I mean, we look at the Minnesota Vikings, had a great game plan against Davante Adams.
I mean, they pretty much kept them contained in that game, even though he had three touchdowns.
Holding him toe under 100 yards, I think, was definitely huge for the Viking side of things.
Especially when last time to Montana's played against the Vikings.
He was targeted 17 times, caught 14 passes, had over 150 yards and almost to touch down.
So was definitely a different, different game plan for Davante Adams last week.
But I think this week the Vontaze doesn't have a much better game.
I think Matt LeFlore in the offense are going to find better ways to get Davante Adams open.
And I want to be surprised that this is a game where Davante Adams has has double digit catches, maybe slightly over 100 yards and at least two touchdown or two.
I wouldn't be surprised if Davante Adams bounces back and has those kind of has that kind of performance.
Just from an offensive standpoint, let's move on to the defense of side of the ball.
Obviously, the defense last week very much disappointed against the Minnesota Vikings, but it's a new week going up against a depleted 40 Niners offense.
Sam, who is gonna be your defensive player of the game for the Green Bay Packers tonight against the 40 nine years I had a podcast yesterday and I picked Brandon Antyukh for the guy to stop on the Niners offense, and I publish it this morning.
But then last night, they announced, Well, last one or two nights, I was there last night and this morning I think it was last night and I said, Brenda, who was out because he was exposed to Cove in eso he was put on the covert list.
And as I mentioned, Kendrick born is Kobe depositor.
His his covert test was false.
Positive, but to be safe, they are keeping him out.
But I have gyre and, um, solely because the Niners like we don't know who is gonna be the top target from the passing game for them.
Um, if it's if it's Trent Taylor.
If he does end up playing tonight, it might be Trent Taylor.
Might be Charlie Warner from their tight ends are I think they have another tight end.
They because Jordan reads on the I R.
So they got two tight ends.
Now they're playing eso.
We might see more of the tight ends in the passing game now, but I've got Jr.
I think Jr is gonna have a really nice game, and I don't want to call this game of bounce back, bounce back game for the Packers because we can't have multiple games on the schedule be bounced back games.
This has to be the game where they start gaining their mo mentum.
This has to be a mo mentum gainer for this game or for the Packers.
Yeah, it definitely has to be that kind of game.
I am going to go a different route.
I am going to go with Darius Smith.
I mean, so Darius Smith was almost non existent against the Minnesota Vikings on last Sunday.
I think that area Smith is gonna go into this week licking his chops, especially with the Niners not having their center active tonight and with no Trent Williams to worry about on the left tackle side.
I think Mike Pet even though he had a terrible game against the Vikings last week, I think Mike Pet is gonna be looking at it and say, you know what? I think I could apply more pressure, more pressure this week because they don't really have a good offensive line.
I mean, they traded pretty much for Trent Williams because Joe's Daily announced his retirement.
And now that they don't have Trent Williams this game, I would love to see Pet bring more pressure toe Nick Bolan's I mean, I even I even told you, Sam, I believe, before we went out to the stream that to get to get the you have toe make Nick Mullins uncomfortable.
You can't let him settle into this game and feel good because that all things could go go out the roof.
But, you know, I got Za'darius Smith just because he was not effective last week because if he was effective, Dalvin Cook would not have had foretold touchdowns and over 200 plus yards as an offense.
But, you know, it's one of those where Za'darius Smith, I expect them toe have a bounce back game.
I wouldn't even be surprised if this is a game.
Where is the dairy? Smith could potentially get multiple ***, you know, may maybe at least at least two ***, just because Niners don't really have having offensive line.
Like I stated beforehand, they don't have their center active for this game or Trent Williams in this game.
So I expect scenario Smith to be able to get to the quarterback, ah, couple times during this game.
You know, that's why I got Za'darius Smith.
I would also agree gyre Alexander wannabe wouldn't be a bad after either, just because it's kind of like, what do the Niners really have that as receivers and they are going to realize more tight ends.
They don't have George Kittle.
They don't have, I uke.
They don't have Deebo, Samuel or Kendrick born.
So it's one of those where you could maybe even, maybe even see Mike Pet used Gira Alexander as a blitz option as well.
Just because it's like, You know what I can trust, you know, a secondary besides gear to be able to lock these guys up.
So I wanna be surprised if Mike Pet could dial up Mawr corner blitzes with joy your Alexander to get more pressure on Nick Mullen.
So I you make a great case with Jay Alexander.
I am going on the other side.
I am going to get Mawr pressure QB pressures and Za'darius Smith.
Let's move on to players were most concerned with Sam.
You made your case already with the player you're most concerned with for the 40 Niners on the offensive side, Could you repeat that one more time? Who would you be most concerned with for the 40 Niners on the offensive side of the ball offense would kind of be tough for me to pick if I absolutely had to pick on, Um, I think it would be close between Michael Hasty and Nick Mullins.
But then again, we don't know how like the consistency of Nick Mullins when he's in the game this season when he's been in the game this season hasn't been top notch.
So I'm gonna go to Michael Hasty on this one.
But again, I think we have the pieces to stop it.
Um, judging by our run defense and how, um, how much it struggled to Michael Hasty Zin, Obviously, like one of the like, the Niner, this Niners run game now, tonight is gonna be one of the worst.
We're going up against this season s o.
I had to pick one.
I my teacher, Michael Hasty, but I think Nick Mullins affair one as well.
Yeah, I'm actually going to go with with Nick Mullins.
You know, if the 40 Niners little fully healthy, I would have done the game where picked somebody else besides George Kittle because George Kittle is that guy on the offense.
But because George Kittle is most likely out for the rest of the season and their wannabe supremo is depleted, I'm gonna have to go with a Cube.
It's one of those where you know that the Cube is what is what drives the offense.
You could have all the top receivers you want on your roster, but you need to have a great quarterback to make things happen.
I mean, look at the Chicago Bears.
We always make the case for Chicago, where they're a Q B away, and that's 100% accurate.
If the Bears had a better quarterback, they would be more of a threat in the NFC than they are right now.
You know, for the 40 Niners side of things and Sam, you make great points.
What Nick Mullins are we going to see? Are we going to see a Nick Mullins that had great games in 2018, where he looked he looked phenomenal.
Is it gonna be the Nick Bolin's where some people say he should be the guy instead of Jimmy Garoppolo? Are we going to get the Jimmy Garoppolo? Not that Jimmy Garoppolo Or are we going to get the Nick Mullen toe where the Philadelphia game happens? And he literally through a gimme pick to the defense? And afterwards he got bench for C J methods.
So it's kind of we don't know what Nick Boles we're gonna get.
But just because the offense is so depleted, I'm going with Nick Mullins because everything is going to ride with Ride with the quarterback.
You know, if Nick Mullins gets comfortable in the game, I think it could be a bad game for the Green Bay Packers.
If Nick Mullins, you know, starts getting the ball rolling.
But if Green Bay could get pressure to Nick Mullins, I think Green Bay's in business.
But for the player almost concerned with on the offensive side of the ball, it will have to be Nick Mullins.
Let's move on to the defense of side of the ball.
Sam already made his case for Eric Armstead, and I'm gonna have to agree with him as well.
I believe it's going to be Eric Armstead.
He's pretty much the last player on that scary Niners front four of last year.
I mean, we look good.
Buckner got traded to Indianapolis.
Solomon Thomas is out for the season.
That boast is out for the season.
And Eric Arms, that is that last man standing.
I mean, you could also make the case for Ken Law, but I'm going with the man Eric Armstead, just because he is a force to be reckoned with.
And it's one of those where at the Green Bay Packers don't have David Bakhtiari Bachtiar e tonight.
It could. It could be a bad day.
I mean, depending on where Eric Armstead lines up, even if it's in the nose tackle spot.
I mean, it's gonna be one of those where if we don't stop Eric Armstead, we see what happens when you pressure Aaron Rodgers.
That's why Green Bay has two losses.
You know, Tampa Bay was ableto pressure Aaron Rodgers get him uncomfortable and they lose the game.
And the Vikings had a game plan of Aaron Rodgers, uncomfortable and they lose and they lost that game.
So for the Niners of Eric Armstead could bring pressure Thio Aaron Rodgers.
It could be a very concerning game for for the green and gold, just just for the soul.
Fact that, I mean, I hope Grandma goes into this game plan as an offense and simply say, Look out for Eric Armstead.
He is literally the only guy.
In my opinion, you have to watch out for on this defense because you don't have like we stated before.
And they don't have Richard Sherman.
They don't have Dee Ford.
Kwon Alexander just got traded to force.
Buckner was traded in the offseason.
You don't have Solomon Thomas or Nick Bosa.
There is literally no excuse at all for this offense to be stopped, but it can be stopped with one man, Eric Armstead.
If Green Bay doesn't find a way to contain Eric Armstead, we're gonna have a lot of problems this game.
And it could be a very surprising outcome for for for Green Bay Packer fans if we don't stop Eric Armstead.
So I would agree with Sam and simply state.
You know, Eric Armstead is the guy to watch out for Sam.
Would you like toe? Add any other points on why you selected Eric Armstead? No, I think you hit it right on the money there.
I mean, I'm kind of surprised they didn't keep DeForest Buckner and maybe do like a sign and trade in this past offseason with Eric Armstead.
I would have kept the forest Buckner of Eric Armstead.
Um, but the forest bunker obviously had more value to him than for than Eric.
I'm said, I think the other guy that could potentially be a problem, especially with how, um much how depleted the defense's and the run game or their run defense is with injuries.
I think Japan Kim laws another good one to, um, he's had a really nice rookie campaign so far.
But, um, I think I think Erick Armstead is another really good guys seeing as he's faced, he's faced Green Day before, and he knows, Um, he knows exactly how to stop on their offense.
And he, um, he's a lead.
So Mm, yeah, he definitely He definitely is an elite player on that defense side of the ball.
Let's let's move on to our confidence on whether or not.
Green Bay is going toe win this game, so I'll start off first by saying, I am very confident that the Green Bay Packers are going to win this game.
I feel like they embarrassed themselves against the Vikings last week, especially at Lambeau Field.
I mean, if they were fans in attendance at Lambeau Field, I would have heard boos like there.
You would've heard boos throughout the entire game.
That's how that's how embarrassing it was, because literally from a fan perspective, all you really have to do is stop that with.
And I think Green Bay is going into this game.
They're going into it and simply saying We let ourselves down last week.
We can't let that same thing happen this week, and I wouldn't be surprised if Green Bay comes out on on top in this game.
I wanna switch that same question to use them.
How confident are you in the Green Bay Packers this tonight against the 40 Niners? I'm very confident, but I think we win.
I've got my final score.
I'm gonna sit on my podcast yesterday.
I've got them winning 27 to 20 Packers, but I don't think it's gonna be a blowout.
And, um, I think the Packers team is gonna end up surprising us.
Mike Patton has so much to prove.
Um, what's so ironic? And what's so crazy is he coached so well against the Texans two weeks ago.
And then we got the mic patent that, um, is just not gonna decision making it all.
I don't see them hiring.
I don't see the firing of coach midseason.
They're not gonna do that.
I think if they had, if they did that and they had to promote someone, my guess is it would be Jerry Gray who is the secondary coach for the Packers.
Um, but I don't think they're gonna firing coach in the middle of the season.
Um, but my my pet is most certainly coaching for his job this season.
Um, but I feel confident about this this game a lot much more confident that in the beginning of the season, um, even more confident than I did, um, I think after the buccaneers again, I start to feel less confident. Thio.
And now that we know what type of 40 Niners team we're gonna get and not necessarily Nick Molins we're gonna get.
I feel a lot more confident.
I would say I probably feel 80 to 90% confident.
Um, I think we win this game.
I got 27 to 20 and I don't think it's gonna be a blowout.
Yeah, and I have to agree through well and for the score.
Sam has 27 20 I.
I have I think I think we could win by 10.
20 I felt could be one of those where Green Bay has the ball final two minutes left.
They add a field goal to put the game away.
And I want I want to add something to this segment.
A Packers win if and then if the Niners win.
If, obviously, since both of us have the Green Bay Packers winning, I want to go to you, Sam.
The Packers are going to win this game.
If what happens? The Packers, they're gonna win this game.
If more people from Davante Adams show out show up because we have Tyler Urban.
I think we see a little bit of Tyler Urban in the passing game tonight.
Um seeing as he was working out with the receivers.
But we need to see more than just Davante Adams on this offense and the run defense needs to make a stop, and there are a perfect position.
Do that with a struggling run game now with the Niners, Guys like aren't even helped like the guys always All these guys air hurt on the run game.
John Michael Hastings.
Now they're starting running back tonight.
Um, Trent Williams is out with the on the covert list on their centers, not even playing.
I mean, the run defense is in a perfect position.
Thio really boost their momentum and help the Packers win this game.
Yeah, I actually agree this.
Well, I say Packers, I say the Packers win this game.
If the run defense shows up, I believe our offense is gonna show up even if we don't have, You know Erin Jones, Jamal Williams or a J Dillan.
But I'm looking at the run defense.
I'm simply saying the run defense had a bad game against the Minnesota Vikings, probably the worst game from our run defense all season.
That was our worst game we've ever seen, but I'm going to say Packers win.
If the run defense shows up against the 40 Niners, I don't care if it's a depleted 40 Niners run game.
I just want to see how this run defense is gonna bounce back from the humiliating performance they had against Minnesota.
So repeat again. Packers win.
If the run defense shows up tonight against the 40 Niners, let's go on the other side of the ball.
The San Francisco 40 Niners When? If what happens, I'll start off by saying, I think the 40 Niners win this game.
If if Nick Mullins has a good game, I think it's all based off of how Nick Mullins plays.
If the Green Bay Packers can't get pressure on Nick moments, Nick Mullen is gonna have a great game.
I mean, I think the reason why Nick Mullen struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles was he couldn't get with him.
I mean, I think you and I both watched that Sunday night game and we kind of looked and said Nick Moles didn't really have a rhythm.
I mean, he didn't have a rhythm against the Eagles and he threw a gimme pick.
I believe it was to Give me Pick six to the Philadelphia Eagles, which sealed the deal for them.
But, you know, I say Niners win.
If Nick Bullets has a good game, you could also make a case toe where if Eric Armstead is able to get pressure and sack Rodgers multiple times, but I think it's gonna be more than that, So I am simply going with the San Francisco 40 Niners win this game.
If Nick Mullins has a great game, I'll direct the same question to you. Sam.
The San Francisco 40 Niners win.
If What happens? So I literally just looked up, David.
But there's question We're going into this game, Um, so I think I think, man, I think you're 100% right on the neck.
Mullins Far they need to win of if they get the Nick Mullins.
That's confident, Um, and he needs to get.
I know it's one game is obviously tough to gain trust in your receivers, but he needs.
He needs to start building chemistry with these receivers, especially the fact that a lot of the big targets on the Niners right now out for the season and Jimmy Garoppolo is hurt now for the year, mostly done for the season.
And this is Nick Mullins chance to really show himself that he, um, deserves a spot on that roster and maybe even a Q B one.
I don't think he's a Q B one.
I think the Jimmy Garoppolo experiment in San Francisco is done.
I think it should be over.
I think they should trade them in the off season.
But the tough part of it, that is, he got it. Overpaid contract.
Um, but Jimmy Garoppolo obviously, is the weakest link on that entire team.
In my opinion, I think he's like a top 22 top 25 quarterback.
Um, but Nick Mullins, you don't want to repeat myself, but I think I don't I don't want to repeat ourselves, but I think you're right on that.
And I think, especially if David Bachtiar is out, I think Erick Armstead needs to get pressure on the quarterback.
Yeah, 100% Greek hero.
And to close this out, Sam, you made a bold claim on saying This is it for Jimmy Garoppolo that the Niners should be looking to trade what teams should go after Jimmy Garoppolo in the off season.
If the 40 Niners want to trade Garoppolo, it's a tough one because I'm not a huge fan of Jimmy Garoppolo.
I don't think he's very good.
Um, I think people think he's better than actually than I think.
People think he's better than he actually is.
I think he's talented enough to be on a roster, obviously going and compete for a Q B one.
Um, and I bet you now that the Patriots are really regretting trading him, Um, and the tough part of that all is gonna be the contract.
And what will be interesting to me is to see what's going to be interesting for me to the off season for the off season is how the Patriots are gonna look at the quarterback position because I think Belichick is gonna want someone that he's going to groom.
And, um well, I even Bill Belichick is gonna be an interesting one.
I don't think he retires, um, because I think if he does retire after, like this disappointing season, hold like the way it's gonna looking like the way it's looking like right now, Um, to me, I feel like a lot of people are going to talk down on that, which would be nonsense.
But I think Josh McDaniels is there to say, I think Josh McDonnell just waiting for Bill Belichick to retire.
I've said this before, Matt.
I think Cam Newton, um, is going to get a shot somewhere, but I don't think it's gonna be a New England.
I said that right when they signed him.
I said, I said that before.
I said that before the season started.
Um, maybe the Patriots for Garoppolo.
Um, just because he waas with the Patriots, Obviously, like under Tom Brady.
He played the four games at Tom Brady, was suspended for Andi played well, but I'm not a huge Grapple fan.
So I mean, one of I mean, the Patriots would be interesting to see, but I can't imagine them.
I can't imagine many teams trying to take on that contract.
Um, so I think that is gonna be the big part.
I think that's gonna be the toughest part of trying to trade Garoppolo in the off season.
Yeah, it definitely is going to be a tough scenario to have happened for them.
I mentioned this would be an interesting team for for you.
I think the Chicago Bears could make a run.
I mean, I think Robiskie is finished in Chicago.
I think this is it for him.
I think they're pretty much gonna roll with Nick Foles and either draft a cube in this draft.
Or if they don't like any of the cubes in this draft, make a trade and go after ones.
I mean, and I also looked at some of the stats here.
If the 40 Niners cut Jimmy Garoppolo pre June 1st of 2021 they save $24.
1 million in cap space and they're dead.
Money would Onley B $2.
So they could If the 40 Niners don't like Jimmy Garoppolo and they don't like any trade offers, they could.
In hindsight, before June 20 June 1st, 2021 they could essentially cut Jimmy Garoppolo and Onley have to absorb $2.
8 million in dead money.
So you look at the 40 Niners.
They're looking at this scenario and simply saying, look, our first year because when you look at Garoppolo contracts so far his first year in his highly paid contract.
He got a C L injury in week three.
That's a tough one right there his second year in his contract.
Obviously, we know what happens.
They make it to the Super Bowl.
But like you said, Sam Garoppolo was pretty much the weakest link on there.
You look at it was George Kittel.
It was the defense.
It was pretty much almost everybody on the defense.
And then it was basically telling Garoppolo, Garoppolo, don't mess this up.
Don't don't ruin it.
Don't throw costly picks.
I need to do that And he made it to the Super Bowl.
And now you look at this season.
Groppe Law has been pretty much filled with injuries, and even when he played, he was all right.
He wasn't He wasn't super stellar, and I will say he had.
He had one bad game against the Dolphins that game against the Dolphins, where he returned from injury.
He was terrible and then now I think what you mentioned Sam is it isn't Garoppolo pretty much almost done the entire season or most of the season.
He's probably done for the majority of the season.
I think didn't say like 6 to 8 weeks or something.
Yeah, so maybe they'll get him back to the playoffs.
But that's if my off, that's if they're in the playoff run.
But, you know, it's one of those weird Garoppolo experience like you said Sam it in a way, it hasn't worked like when they first traded for him.
They were one in 10.
They thought Garoppolo fully healthy and they went 50 I mean, then you give him the highest paid contract at the time.
So far, that hasn't worked.
Because you're one was pretty much filled with injury.
Year to was pretty much the only year where it worked out because you made it to the Super Bowl.
And so far, year three of this contract.
It's looking like the same song and dance of injury problems.
So if I'm the 40 Niners, I'm looking that situation and say, Look, if we cut Jimmy Garoppolo pre June 1st of 2021 we save $24 million in cap space and only have to absorb $2.
8 million in dead money or even if I want to.
If I want to give Garoppolo another chance for one more year, and I want to cut him or trader cut him Pre June 1st of 2022.
I could save 25.
6 million and only have to absorb 1.
That's what I got a feeling they might be doing to because I think they're gonna I'm probably gonna try to trade him to find any trade suitors for him.
Um, if, um before they cut him.
And yeah, I think if they don't Because you you just said he has one year left on his contract because it was a four years after after this season.
After this season, he has two more years after this season, he's got two more years on his contract.
That doesn't help.
That was going to say if he had one year left, um, they might just give him last year to prove himself.
But he's had he's had two years to prove himself now, So I think they need to do everything they can to try and trade him.
Yeah, and even saying Like like you mentioned if they were to trade Garoppolo pre June 1st of 2021 instead of releasing him, they would save $24.
1 million in cap space and they would only have to absorb $2.
8 million in dead money.
So you look at I don't think the 40 Niners are going to simply cut away with Garoppolo.
No, that's not That's not how it works, Grant.
They save a lot of cap space, but I think they're gonna look at something because you look at didn't they trade a second round pick? Or didn't they trade like a second or fourth for Garoppolo Thio? Early mid round pick? Yeah.
So in my opinion, to find the 40 Niners, I'm gonna be looking for that if I Onley if I don't like what Garoppolo has to offer now, if Garoppolo is fully healthy, I think it's a different ballgame because when he was fully healthy last year, they made it to the Super Bowl.
Granted, he was probably the weakest link on the team.
But you look at it and simply say, I mean, when he was healthy, they were they were pretty much full photo fruition makes it suitable.
So, overall, I think the 40 Niners, depending on how this season goes, I think if they're if they're in a playoff push, I expect Garoppolo to play through injury.
But if it's a scenario where they are out of the playoff race, they might just roll with Nick bullets and simply say, Hey, what you got? What, you don't know force because it's a high ankle injury and I don't know if I would force him to play that through that.
Well, only only, like 16 or 17.
Especially The fact is, if he reinjured that his trade value is gonna go down, definitely make make some good, good points there.
I mean, it's one of those where you kinda have to slightly feel bad for Garoppolo.
I mean, you look at he waited three years behind Tom Brady.
He got two Super Bowls, you know, in 2014 as a rookie and then 2016 and Super Bowl 51.
Bill Belichick really liked what he saw in Garoppolo, and Brady pretty much pulled the power move and got Garoppolo out of San Fran his first five games and sand friend.
He looked great, obviously turned them around from one and 10 to 6 and 10.
He gets paid the highest contract by any quarterback at the time, and he's been pretty much filled with injuries.
A c l in the first year, second year, he was healthy, maids unsuitable.
And the third year it's pretty much the ankle.
And I mean, you look, it doesn't help that Garoppolo was the weakest link in 2019.
I think in 2019, if Garoppolo was the difference maker, I think we look at him an entirely different perspective.
But because the defense was so dominant last year and George Kittel was so great last year, we look at Garoppolo assistance.
Just like, you know, they could have been successful even if they had moments last year.
Even if Nick Mullen started last year's that Garoppolo, you could have made a case that the Niners would have been in the same same situation.
Making a run at super.
You know, it's just one of those where the 40 Niners and Sam you brought upon great points.
It all depends on how John Lynch and company believe in Garoppolo, because if they believe in Garoppolo, they're giving him another chance next year.
But if they look at Garoppolo and simply say, You know what? Looking at our free agency Q B options.
If we could make a run at Cam Newton next year, why not trade Garoppolo and save $24 million in calf base? And we could use that $24 million in cash space to bring in Cam Newton, who could have a fully resurrected career and San Francisco and not have to fully rely on him and just rely on that defense.
So it is a very interesting scenario on how the 40 Niners go from here.
It's gonna be a great game toe watch on Thursday night.
I think we can even make the case for us.
This game is going to really show how competitive Green Day is going to be throughout the rest of season, because obviously, you and I both agree that Green Bay is going to make the playoffs.
I think that's 100% accurate.
I think we have a good chance to be in a 123 seed range.
I think depending on how the Packers play tonight, well, truly show how we're going to match up against Seattle or Tampa Bay because I'm telling you right now if we **** the bed and lose this game, we have no chance in the playoffs.
I mean, the only chance we have is winning a wild card game, and that's about it, because if we were to play Seattle or Tampa Bay and the playoffs, I don't think we win those games.
But if we win this game tonight and we go to six and two and we put pressure on those teams like Tampa Bay or Seattle toe win, we could have a good case to be that number one seed and and to close it out, all kind of directed to you.
Sam, will you look at the Green Bay Packers in a different lens? Even if they win this game tonight against the injury pro Niners team, Um, I would still expect more from them.
Um, I think winning again against this type of 40 Niners team doesn't say a ton, but it's definitely promising.
Yeah, I have to agree through as well.
Sam and Sam, you even mentioned some great points.
You said If the if the Packers lose this game tonight that they're not Super Bowl contenders, I have to agree through as well.
I think it's a capable contenders, but they're not gonna be a threat in the playoffs.
As much as everyone's gonna think.
I think it's gonna I think everyone is going to start writing them off the map.
If they lose this game tonight, mm, that 100% Especially when, later on in the season the Packers are gonna have to play the Bears twice.
The Panthers with the healthy Christian McCaffrey and the Tennessee Titans, who are making a playoff push.
And on top of that, the Indianapolis Colts as well are not gonna be easy team to push over.
So hopefully Green Bay wins this game tonight.
