Obviously not going great for either of us nor anyone else in the NFC East.
We're gonna get into all this and really talk about where we're at and, you know, maybe evaluate some players things along those lines and get a feel for the future.

Um, also part of fights on wrapped network s o shout out to Monique, but you could You can find us.
We do a weekly stream there, too.
Um, well, yeah, man, like you said, it's it's sad, sad state of affairs, and then FC least it's stuff and, like you said NFC least, obviously, Alex, one of our directors that unwrapped sports is defund the NFC East.
This guy e mean right now it's looking like you can win four games and take this championship home, maybe five, like I would take this division home.
It's really sad, and I don't think that's that's never happened before.
You know, I think the I haven't looked it up, but I think seven wins.
I would say it would probably be the lowest that a playoff team has ever gotten.
I can't imagine a six win team traditionally that would ever get in except for 2020 with the N f C East.
I'm gonna look that up when you're talking at some point so I can throw that out for people.
But right now, let's get into the standings very quickly.
Obviously, the Eagles air up top right now.
Three wins, four losses and a tie.
The Washington football team.
I love how he laughed with the tie right there. That's awesome.
The Washington football team two and five, my Dallas Cowboys two and six, and the Giants, who are kiss awful like I had so sad, Man one and seven.
It is a really tough times in the NFC East right now.
We're obviously going to focus on the Eagles and the Cowboys, but let's talk Giants for a second.
Obviously, that game just happened.
I want to just bring up what you think about Daniel Jones.
How you feel about the Giants, although they don't have steak.
Barkley and it's a new coaching staff.
How do you feel about them? Are they can complete tank mode? You go and get a quarterback this year.
What's the future for the Giants? Because we're going to spend most of our time, of course, on the Cowboys and Eagles.
So let's start with the Giants.
So I actually, um, ID like Daniel Jones, to be honest with you.
And it's hard for me to say that as an Eagles fan, I think, and I projected him to be good in the draft.
I like them a lot coming out of Duke.
Um, he could make a lot of throws on.
Um, I don't think it's time to give up on him yet.
Um, that might be next year if it that's, you know, It's the same state of affairs, But I think this usually one a new coach comes in.
They want to see a couple of years with the young quarterback they don't like.
He wouldn't a king here if he didn't like Daniel Jones.
It's also Jason Garrett to the offensive coordinator.
He's been so keen on trying to develop Daniel Jones and want to give him time.
And he does show flashes at times like he's got mobility.
But then he goes and stumbles on that long run, and everyone's laughing at him. But, I mean, he's got mobility.
He's definitely ableto to make those plays.
You saw the flash of greatness when he led the Giants down the field on Monday night.
Yesterday against the Tom Brady led Buccaneers, there were 22 points away from a much better team, and Daniel Jones led them down that I did not think it was gonna happen and scored that touchdown on one of the best passes he's made all season.
And then you condemn bait if you thought that was a pass interference on that two point conversion or not, Regardless, it was a bang bang play.
But he put them in a position to win.
And that's something that you want to seek.
I mean, what's option to for the Giants right now? You rather go with ah, guy who is definitely not the answer behind Daniel Jones or you're going for a wild card guy.
You're going Thio, you know you're doing with the Cowboys were doing right now you're going with seventh rounders.
You're potentially trying to go trade for someone.
It's just bad news.
So I'm with you on Let's stick around with Daniel Jones, because what's the better option? And you don't have steak on Barkley and it's a new coaching staff, so you know they're gonna use all those excuses to keep him around.
I do see the flashes like you said, and I'm not gonna go a Sfar.
I'm not gonna go as far as even say I like Daniel Jones.
You know, you know what I mean? But I definitely don't mind Daniel Jones as much as other people, but the turnovers are a serious problem.
It's record breaking the amount of turnovers that he's had throughout his first couple of years in the NFL, like legitimately the most in NFL history so something needs to be done about the decision making may be trying to do too much, not knowing when to kind of eat a play and just let it simmer.
Instead of risking that fumble throwing the ball away, I feel like he always tries to do way too much, so that's something that obviously, I think comes with experience.
But I'm not against you completely with Let's give him a shot, you know, for at least another year.
But what's the future? Because what happens if it doesn't work out? Like, do you think they still go and put a second or third rounder on a quarterback? Go pull a Jalen hurts this year and go get someone else that's breathing.
We get to that later, but they could happen if they really wanted.
I just don't know what the future is for them.
I think I think for them and I hope I hope this isn't what they're planning on doing, because let's be honest.
If he keeps this up, he the turnovers get, stay the same or get worse.
They're still going to suck a year or two from now, but what will happen is they'll have consistently good draft picks.
Well, Azaz long as they hit on a couple of them, they'll have good draft picks, early round draft picks to fill the holes on that team.
Like right now they need.
They need some help on the offensive line.
They've needed help on the offensive line.
That's what the Giants like known for now is a terrible offensive line play.
And Will Hernandez got like the Kobe.
I just feel like yesterday they had three rookies that we're starting.
It's not an ideal situation.
If you're Daniel Jones, tryingto figure everything out.
You're getting pressure all the time.
You're getting hit. You're trying to put the team on your back.
You got Wayne Gallman back there, like what the **** do you know? And they have young players.
So I think I think they're They're in the kind of wait and see scenario where this year, because there's no there was real no, no riel off season? No.
Oh, ta is none of that stuff.
I think teams like the Giants are unfortunately going to just punt away the season and just go.
You know what? Let's let's get this corrected in the off season and the pre season next year.
Um, but as far as this year goes, we don't stand a chance anyway.
So let's just keep in.
I just feel like you're right.
But it's so funny because some of these teams I mean, all of these teams right now.
Maybe they're not the Giants, because there, I mean, technically, the Giants air still in it.
I hate to say whether, technically still in it, you're like a win away from being in contention.
But yet another loss away from being in the tank for Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields race like it's that it's splitting hairs that much.
This year is like tanking is right here and can, you know, going for division titles right there.
And it's just such a small divide Right now, I've never it's actually mind boggling to think that a one in seven Giants team definitely can make up that ground on the Eagles.
If 2020 continues to do it, z course.
Alright, well, let's shift over to the the Eagles and Cowboys.
Obviously, they just played this last Sunday, a rough game for myself.
Obviously, Alec went to sleep a little early watch the rest of the game in the morning at work.
He told us He's like This isn't worth my sleep deprivation.
I agreed it was rough, man.
And for I'm the biggest dak Prescott truther that you've ever met.
I love the man to death even more now so than ever.
Like, I would love to see him back watching DeNucci play quarterback for the Cowboys and having him be benched this week for a guy that potentially has been here for three weeks in Gilbert Or Cooper Rush, who was the back of last year who was just on the Giants.
And he's just on the practice squad, and you just Bence DeNucci.
Andy Dalton has a concussion.
He also has co vid like What the **** man like that is a sitcom.
It's a legitimate sitcom.
I feel like you can script this up, hit up Netflix and say, Let's do some sort of alternate universe football do***entary And here is some great footage to start you off like that's actually really good idea.
Imagine Jerry Jones starring in his own **** A about a ****ing It is rough.
I mean, Ben DeNucci, 21 for 40 your right around 50%.
5 yards of completion.
He's just throwing it to Ezekiel Elliott and Dalton Schultz.
It's a rough outing.
And then you got Zeke, who I think forgot how to play football this year.
Or just lost his drive like you gave him so much money and, you know, on paper in 19 carries for 63 yards, 3.
3 yards of carrying.
It's not like the worst in the world.
Especially since you had a catch for 10 yards.
But it's not acceptable when you have to be the bell cow, the face of the Cowboys.
Let's see Alex Charming and Eagles winning the division at 691 That's so That's so gross, bro.
That's so how did you even how did you type that? Seriously? Bed.
Oh, man, lets submarine quarterback.
Yeah, absolutely. Like power.
It was like Pat the shack.
Like the reliever from the twigs.
He's ****ing down here throwing stuff.
I'm at work like you gotta be ****ing kidding me.
Didn't e Hey, was he terrified back there? He got a couple of times.
It was like I don't belong in the NFL.
E saw people putting out on Twitter being like So how do you feel about DeNucci? And I just saw some would say, You know, I guess is good as 1/7 round pick and be in this terrible situation, But, um, my home is going to start growing like that. Teoh.
No throwing like that. I was gonna say growing.
I think he's grown as much like a 90% completion percentage.
So let's zoom move over to the Eagles for a second in this performance, Of course, they won 23 to 9, and it came on end of the game.
They really pulled away.
Just didn't go well.
I mean, Carson Wentz with two touchdowns, two interceptions, 15 for 2723 yards, 4.
6 yards of completion.
The yards of the the average completion per pass for both quarterbacks were abysmal.
Like the worst that I've really said out loud on a stream and quite a long time like that is really, really meet like intermediate game like you are going for check downs and check downs only you have no trust in the deep game, and he did take some chances.
Carson Wentz, of course you know.
Two touchdowns, two interceptions, but he's got a 29.7.
Q b R Jesus Christ.
Like, uh, Boston Scott looked pretty good.
I'll let you, uh, Eagles thoughts.
So it was a classic Doug Peterson and and what's becoming a classic Carson once game where they e I swear to God, it looks like And I've said this in our chats and and I've said this to you.
Doug Peterson looks like he's trying to.
Coach Carson wants to be Nick Foles, and it's not working because Doug wants, you know, he wants that point guard quarterback, the one that's just gonna, you know, throw it over here for a completion.
Throw it over here for a completion, and Carson wants to run around and throw cannons.
Um, and but that all being said, Carson once is playing horrible.
It's playing horrible, horrible football.
It's Daniel, Tim and Daniel Jones for the most turnovers by quarterback in the league.
And then there's a big margin, and then everybody else.
So it's definitely has to be some point of concern, right? It's very concerning especially since he has been, though he has always had a fumbling problem, mainly because he tries to hold onto the ball too long and he tries to make a play happen when there's not.
And mainly Eagles fans air okay with that, because his accuracy and all this other stuff outweighs the fumbling problem.
But this year it doesn't.
This year he's got a farm boy and he makes throws that you remember why, when Scott paid, you see some of those throws and then the next one, it's like completely in the ground.
You're just like, Whoa, what was that? From where he's, it's the decision making that's really getting to me is well on, Alex says whence and Daniel Jones air competing for Butterfingers endor*****ts. Wow.
Yeah, I mean, you're you're not gonna keep starting jobs if you continue like that, obviously, whence already got paid and in the eagle situation first off, what's your next best choice? Here's your time to start talking about Jalen Hurts and you paid when it's already you already gave him that money.
You are writing that contract.
Not to put him on the Bent like that is not the ideal situation because you need to see it.
In my opinion, if you can't get that contract off and he's healthy, whence is your quarterback like you're in that situation until you're not in that situation, is how I see it.
Um, you gotta give Carson once.
I mean, at least until the end of the year if you bench him so you get to the end of the year and you decided to move on from Carson once you and you trade him for whatever you could get.
If that's what you your course of action is and you bench him, you just killed his own value by saying we weren't even willing to ride out the season with him because he still has high trade value.
He was an M v P candidate in 2017.
Um, and that's what's really concerning for me.
About him is he went from being compared Teoh.
You know, Brady and Rodgers and all these other guys to be the next one of the next top five to being compared to Daniel Jones like this is just sad.
And as far as Jalen hurts goes, that's not even an option.
For me, it was the dumbest draft pick in Philadelphia Eagles history.
It may go down as one of the dumbest draft picks in history, off second round draft picks.
Um, it made no sense.
It still makes no sense.
Jalen Hurts wasn't even in my top five quarterbacks in that draft.
Um, so I had him in late third round, 4th, 5th round.
It was it was just athleticism and the coaching that he received in college.
That was, But there was much, probably more raw prospects.
But definitely, like you said, guys that higher on most people's boards.
And I think hurts had a pretty consensus 3rd 3rd round draft tag on him, if not worth, if not forth, right.
And he's just to be honest, he's just not a polished pastor.
And he would get crushed.
What? What made me laugh? What you said at some point this last week is that he forces Jalen hurts in that game and it's like painful toe watch and like it's almost like, But I think it's bird box or whatever.
One is just like you keep in the eyes open, making them watch, which is what the NFL the NFL is doing to everybody when they continue to put NFC East games on prime time, You're like, Watch those games, watch the Cowboys and Eagles out.
Suck each other.
But you know, that has to be said it.
Za really rough.
I mean, it's not like he's proving Doug Peterson proves why he's not the same caliber as a Sean Payton.
Hey, really, really looked lost, and you said it to Frank Reich is a big reason why you won that Super Bowl and a big reason for Coach Peterson.
Success like so.
So if I may break that down a little bit further is what in 2000, what people don't realize outside of Philadelphia and and a lot of people inside of Philadelphia in 2017 Frank Reich was actually one of the main play callers.
Um, he would relay 3 to 5 plays down to Doug Peterson.
Doug Peterson would choose 2 to 3 plays that Carson Wentz and Carson Wentz would pick one play and could audible to the others.
So it was frank, right, choosing the plays, giving them the dog dog, giving them to Carson and giving Carson the leeway to change.
That has changed since 2017 to the point where every single year Doug has taken Mawr control away from offensive coordinators to the point where it doesn't even have one now.
And he's taking away control from Carson once who was best when he is running fast paced offense, getting to the line, breaking down the defense and calling the place from there.
And it sucks for him because when you have protection, you have healthy weapons, you have things going correctly.
Things look good for once.
And you know, I think whence is more along the lines of Jared Goff, in my opinion like Ah, little systematic.
But I would say more talented than golf like you Seymour flashes of greatness from whence and mawr impossible plays that he makes.
I would take whence over Gough if it was just strictly skilled, But you have to add injury history.
I wouldn't call went injury prone, and it's good to see him playing.
Ah, lot of games.
It's good to see that kind of narrative go out the window at least toe where it's like Okay, the guy could stand in there and and play the game and do the Russell Wilson treatment and even Dak Prescott.
This where you're all just running for your ****ing life.
You're all doing your best.
It's just with whence it's.
I mean, I'm gonna ask you how you feel about full gum or full jump full cam.
However, it's full Fulghum.
I mean, he's been impressive.
Is this a guy that's a long term peace? Are you excited that Riggers back? Obviously, there's a few developments that are looking good for Philadelphia, because even if this is a wash of a season which it's not, you're obviously the the top of the division right now and have a chance to go.
I mean, I think the development of some of these young guys is crucial not just for this year, but for whatever the future holds.
Fog, um, looks to be.
And, you know, I love breaking down tape and and plays and what not fold, um, looks to be a real deal guy.
His his browser Krispies Faster, faster than people thought he was, um, but But his routes are really, really, really crisp.
He and that's what counts the most.
He's a possession receiver, um, he can play in the slot.
He could play on the outside.
He looks like everything we expected.
Alshon Jeffery to be.
That's a good That's a good That's a really good point that you just made it.
Because when you look when you lose Alshon Jeffery Anderson, it's really tough to fill in those holes.
And, in my opinion, to see Fulgham and rigor, it's almost like plug and play.
In my opinion, I hate to say it, but it's almost Sean and Al Sean, right? With rigor being more like a Tampa Bay Bucks dish on then, uh, then a first time Philadelphia Eagles to Sean. I would agree.
So, I mean, they definitely have some players coming back.
They got more players coming back by.
The sounds of a lane is trying, trying.
Lane Johnson is trying his hardest to get back.
Doesn't look like he's gonna play this week, though.
Um, so they got a big part of that team.
He is the offensive line.
Yeah, um, so I mean, they're the prospects look good for the Eagles.
The issue is, and the issue with the the Cowboys as well is the first of their schedule sucks.
It's so hard, they play the Giants, and then they got a schedule from hell.
So, um, it doesn't look good for them.
Even if they get let's say they get all their players back magically out.
Sean Jeffrey gets magically healthy.
Zach Ertz comes back to Alice.
Gotta comes back.
And let's just say everybody is 100%.
That can be so that excludes.
Like the Brandon Books, Brooks and the guys we know who are out, Let's just say that happens.
They're still not good enough to beat teams like the Saints to beat teams like the Seahawks and the Beat teams.
Like they, they're just not.
It's gonna have to take a fluky game for some of these.
I mean, 2020 has been nuts, so obviously anything is possible.
But the funny thing is like when we're looking at a schedule like this, as daunting as it is, the difference is there's a big gap now between the Eagles and the rest of the division, and it's after this week if the Cowboys would have won if the Giants would have held on in Tampa Bay.
This debate is a lot more in depth and a sad debate at that.
But it's a lot closer right now.
It's starting to look like it's taking shape for me.
I thought that it was gonna be a barn burner between the Cowboys and the Eagles, who could be a mediocre better.
And Andy Dalton was very disappointing.
And then you add concussions and then you add Cove.
It all this stuff like who knows if the guy is gonna be able to come back and all you got random quarterbacks.
I even saw tweets tryingto wish.
I think it's for the flex bone or the fish bone or whatever.
It was back in the day where Arkansas with Darren McFadden and another running back, and you just eliminate the quarterback completely.
And it's just you send your wide receiver on motion.
You send CD lamb every single time you got. Pollard.
You got Zeke like, I think that it's sad, but that's your best way to go about it.
And I'm like, half joking about that right now.
But with the Eagles with Carson Wentz, I mean, he still puts up numbers.
It's just the mistakes, you know.
It's really just the mistakes because the yardage, the touchdowns, like that's all top 10 more like top.
I think it's like six or seven like he's still technically there.
He still puts him in a position to win.
But like we mentioned before, it's really just the fumbles, the interceptions, the decision making.
And when you get more and more report with Fulghum, rigor continues to get healthier and get that connection with him.
I do see things turning around for once, a bit like I really do see it going up from here a little bit.
I I can't tell you.
I see him going back to the old Carson Wentz, and I can't tell you if it's necessarily just him or the whole personnel and coaching or if it's a mixture of all three.
But I feel that there's going to be some positive progress for him for the rest of the season because I view it as more of his Onley up from here.
Even though the schedule is tough, I just see I see the mistake's going down.
I don't see it continuing like this.
I really four turnovers in a game against the Cowboys defense, who statistically was the fourth worst defense in the history of football.
Going into it like you fumbled twice and throw two interceptions.
Toe digs a rookie like I feel like they can only go up from here.
I mean, that's That's the hope I am in the pest.
I am in such a negative place with all Philadelphia sports.
Really? Like depression.
Like the Philadelphia Sports Depression is really right now, it's a sad, sad town.
Um, we got we got a little bit of brightness with six years, but, uh, other than that that I just maybe the turnover stop.
Maybe that all stops.
Maybe his reporter fold, um, gets better.
I was never really a big fan of him.
I like his for all talent.
I like his speed.
Um, but for me, what you missed out on that draft pick with Justin Jefferson.
Who's a guy who's gonna be your number one future number one receiver could do everything on the field or even moving up for CD lamb.
You know, you could have you could have made that.
I think I either those two options would have been I blame the Falcons for that.
But that really the problem with regards a one trick pony and he's not amazing at that one trait.
Like, when do Sean burst on the scene in Philadelphia? He was.
It was Donovan McNabb, Sean Jackson deep.
All just run straight, man.
That's all you got to dio.
And maybe maybe it's just the report between Carson and Reagan. Maybe you're right.
Maybe that just needs to build.
Um, but I don't see I like you do see turnovers and stuff falling off, but I still only have them winning.
Maybe three more games.
Yeah, I mean, my notes.
I absolutely I agree with you.
I think I was looking at saying to And then I looked at the schedule and I agree with you.
I was like, They'll be a game in there that they'll they'll squeak out for sure.
So I think it'll be three.
I think I'm with you and Alex on this.
We all agree, and that's gonna be enough to win this division.
And then it's How healthy are you at that time? Like how? How much have you fixed? Like how flukey can you get? Because I mean the last time they made a run.
We're not going to call that a fluke because they put together a really good run, a really well coached run.
They really embellished in that underdog tag.
And Nick Foles was just magic in a bottle, you know, somehow.
But can that happen again? Can it be repeat? Obviously not with the backup quarterback.
And I think, but can it can it happen with whence, you know? And I know it's so outlandish, but I feel like in 2020 anyone can dream.
You know, any I'm trying.
I'm trying trying to make my boy happier here because the Cowboys the Cowboys don't have a ****ing chance.
Like I was actually in the speck of hope.
Right now we have more talent on the roster, but it is zero.
All I would say is, before it came out that Andy Dalton head Cove, it there was a chance that he came back, got a couple, got some practices, you know, got his NFL feet under him again.
E I'm just so down and disappointed that I can't even see the light.
I can't even see the light anymore, man.
Like probably I got a window right here and I can't even see out of It s so dark, so dark.
And that FC's for that, I was going to say, is if he can just be serviceable Best.
The Cowboys have a better chance just with their peer talent.
I mean, the Eagles, I mean, can the Washington football team win this division? I mean, they're in second place right now with Kyle Allen and probably the best coach in the division.
I hate to say it with Ron Rivera.
Can they? Are they gonna win this division like we haven't talked about them at all? Let's let's let's talk about the Washington football team.
I'm laughing because I had this thought today.
Oh, thankfully, I looked at the schedule.
It was like God that I looked at.
The Redskins schedule was just like, Yeah, there's no way they're wanting this.
But I mean, it's any.
Like you said, it's 2020.
The NFC East sucks.
Let's just say active with the way the eagle season is going, they're more likely to get Mawr injuries before they get less.
So let's just say that happen.
Let's let's say Jason Kelsey goes down, the one guy that's holding the offensive line together by a thread.
Let's say he goes down.
Then the Eagles there just screwed there that they got no protection for Carson.
He's going to get hurt after that and then And it's not that like, this isn't that doomsday scenario.
This is very possible toe happen.
Washington is like, I think it's a game and a half back of bagels like it's it's really not that out of reach.
It's more of like the Giants.
I don't think I have a chance in this world like you can't even bury up announce.
I Obviously, I think that Daniel Jones going to keep trying to keep him close, but they don't have a chance.
I really think in the Cowboys, you can keep respect of hope for me.
I appreciate your optimism, brother.
You kept me up a little more, but I think it's between the Eagles and the Washington football team right now and that Z it sucks for me to say that, but like I just I think it's so many issues in Dallas right now.
I think it's it's the coaching staff hasn't it's not just a new head coach.
It's a brand new coaching staff with every single person except Kellen Moore.
Who's the offensive coordinator? You're your pony's gone.
Zeke doesn't know how to run right now.
This season is about let's evaluate who we have, and that's what they were really pointing to at the trade deadline to their moves or lack thereof at the trade deadline.
Really gave me an indication that they're well aware of where they're at and they're willing to not tank but not try.
And it's It's very clear.
I think it's just one of those, like we will see who wants to play football, like Who wants to be here? Who wants to play which young guys want to step up? I think there's gonna be constant rotation change.
You're gonna be trying out guys that you haven't seen on the field that much.
It's gonna be a lot of trial and error this year, while with the Eagles and with the Washington football team, who have at least created some sort of identity with that defensive pass rush.
So there's something they can lean on there because it's a it's a legit pass rush there there, D line and linebackers.
They, you know, therefore three or 34 other ways, right? Character comes off bench.
So I mean, that's where I'm like.
They got an identity right now, I think, and Cowboys weren't making with the healthy back.
That defense is that bad.
You know, I strongly disagree.
You know, I really with this state of the Cowboys right now.
I strongly disagree with you, and I think with the play of the teams now, and even Carson Wentz, who used to be a comparable thing to deck the statistics aren't even close anymore.
Like it's actually like not really a debate anymore.
And I hate to say that.
And now, with him being out and seeing the lack of production like this team was worse when Dak was there.
Because now at least, this defense is starting to get a small bit of chemistry as the weeks go on, starting to see small by small and small improvements at the beginning of the year, like it was like they were getting crushed and Dak would just single handedly keep these teams and keep this team in these games.
It was unbelievable to watch.
He was breaking records through and with the weapons he has that you have to give him that credit over whence like he's got the weapons, the old lines.
Air just is bad right now and stuff, but I mean, the Dallas has more weapons for him to work with, but still like to see the drop off Andy Dalton and then see the drop off to DeNucci and the drop off that we're going to see this week with Gilbert or Cooper.
Oh, my God, Dax agent is just like, let's let's cook up these negotiation talks now.
And I think it's interesting, because now this puts the Cowboys in an interesting negotiation spot for themselves, because now, with an injury like this, it's not in a Keeley's.
It's not a tornado cl like.
It's like a broken ankle.
Like when I was reading on it, it seemed like with a good surgery, which he had your back like, it seems like you're cautious when you go back out there.
I know Alex was mentioning to me, um, that he actually had a similar injury.
When you go back out in the field like getting hit and putting pressure on that.
It's gonna be weird, like it's like adjusting to anything.
But to think that his athleticism has been sapped or anything's changed would be foolish.
So I think now you're put in a position of Do you take the contract that was offered to you from Jerry Jones? Do you stand there as Jerry Jones and say, This is all we're going to give you? Look what happened last year.
Do you want to risk that happening again this year? And then your market value is may be at risk again.
Even worse. You know, back to back injuries.
Even if it's another injury that's not detrimental, that's still risky.
You still or you're not injury prone, but you're a risk.
You're You're someone that you don't want to go put a five year contract on and set the market value at.
That's not the case, so I think it's interesting.
Does that take the contract that was given? Is Jerry just at a standstill like this is where we're staying and you don't have any wiggle room? Or is it just Hey, let's do the franchise tag again.
Let's give this a shot and then see where we're at, then take another chance on you.
The franchise tag is like 40 million plus for a year, so it's not like Dax not making the money that he's technically thinking he deserves like that.
That's that's a pretty good situation.
You just don't get the security, which is obviously what he's looking for.
So I mean, I'm gonna ask you that question like, What do you think happens? Like, Do you think it's a franchise tag coming off this injury? Do you think Jerry, uh, takes care of his guys? You know, right right now, do you think he waits? I think of what? Well, the address that first and foremost since you asked.
I think they'll probably try to franchise tag him again and get something done during this season.
That's what that I think that's what they were going to try to do this year.
But there's no point of what it would just be a waste of effort to do it well, he's injured, um so franchise tag him and the franchise tag is only going to go up, so he's gonna just make more money than he did this year.
So the money ain't an issue on the tag.
On the tag you're living, it's just what's next? What's next year? And and clearly Jerry's Andy Dalton is just going to come in.
If that gets her and prove, prove everybody wrong, that he'll just fill, plug and play and it will be fine.
That did not go Jerry Jones his way, and he's gotta eat crow on that.
He's got Hey, absolutely does, Um, and the one thing that I would say is you know, you said the Eagles are are looking up.
I think the Cowboys are in a much better scenario for the future of their team.
Um, more, always more talking for yeah, for this year for this year.
But that's a good That's a good transition.
Let's move on to like, what's next, Like, what's the future of both these teams? So you really kind of started that off? Yeah, I think I think the Cowboys have a much better future that got great young players, great young position players already.
They signed Acto franchise tag and then get a deal done.
Their offensive set that all they got to do is fill in some offensive line, but But, I mean, their offense is pretty much set.
They're good to go.
They just gotta fill out of defense with the Cowboys.
They got great skill position players.
And with Zeke, obviously, I think that's a prime example of why I love Z.
You love the you.
You eat this and stuff.
But at the end of the day, you see Pollard to go in there and put up the same numbers.
It Z not the same flash.
He's not doing all that and stuff, but I mean, he's putting up the same numbers.
Look at James Robinson in Jacksonville, the undrafted rookie who is one of the top running backs in the entire league right now.
Paying running backs is so ****ing risky, man, and I was all for it then.
But but now it's a I.
My definitely more on the other end of the spectrum because I think with running back to the life of a running back is so short and you can find new running back, say any time and I think you pay your you prioritize, paying your quarterback over paying a running back, especially and with people will say Wide receiver to with Amar E.
But I mean, he's really the only one that's lived up to the contract so far.
He's he's put up top 10 numbers in the entire NFL up to date, and I mean, he's He's been very consistent.
He's very dominant.
I love Amar E. Personally.
I was surprised to see them not take a big move and trade one of these contracts of the deadline.
But I mean, like you said, you try and run this back while you have.
Everybody is still on contract for next year.
You really made that decision that you weren't gonna go pay Byron Jones you prioritized defensive line, which you somehow continue to draft for, which is DeMarcus Lawrence.
Like DeMarcus, Lawrence hasn't done a thing.
I think he's had, like, one strip sack this year.
It was like the first time was like he's alive like what? Like and it was absurd.
It was almost like last week when you saw an interception and you were like, I can't believe my eyes like it was that an athletic play from someone in our secondary like it's, it's baffling But I mean, like you said the skill position players, you could have moved Gallup, Thio, the Packers or someone at the trade deadline.
You could have done that, but I think they're looking toe.
What's our strength? It's having one of the fastest paced, high powered offenses in the league when Dak Prescott is there, which they are going to do next year.
So I capitalized and with seek to the other thing is he just looks like a guy that doesn't He's looking at his quarterback going, I don't care.
And that Z always kind of been his M o.
Is he? He is a great talent, a great athletic talent, right? He's got an ad.
He's got an attitude issue, and when he doesn't wanna play, he's checked out.
I mean, he's I've had this conversation with my co founder.
You know, Christian, of course, so many times, especially in the beginning of the career, when that contract was floating around, you know, a year or two ago to like it's not like he stays out of trouble off the field like he punched a security guard right around the contract negotiations at a nightclub like you're supposed to be.
The face of America's team is what they call it like, which isn't the case right now, but and you're doing dumb crap like that.
You're in Mexico doing your stuff.
It's not like when he's not playing football.
He stays out of the tabloids and just trains like he He does have a big personality, doesn't.
But, I mean, that's always been Jerry like, how do I keep people coming to the games? Like And to be honest with you, I think the pandemic is a blessing because I think for a released for Cowboys fans, because now he can't sell out this packed out arena.
Contract negotiations aren't going in his way with Dak because of like what? You said his plan didn't work.
And now you can't even sell out the stadium if you wanted to.
And people don't even want to come to the games at the same rate right now.
So now it's less for Jerry about how Doe I fill the stadium and make the most noise and make the most money in the most attention.
And now looks like ****.
I have to do my job.
I have to get better, like we have to be a better football team. Like how Doe.
I now focus on logistics for how to improve this roster and improve the team culture because you definitely remember a couple weeks ago the anonymous sources in the locker room talking about how the coaches don't even prepare for games correctly.
Thanks for hiring and coaching staff that already has lost the ****ing locker room like, Are you serious right now? So So let me ask you, is Aziz McCarthy? Is this a one year done experiment? Jerry Jones is not a one year and Deng guy like I.
I hate to say it, man.
He will see his decisions through.
He will use every external factor that went wrong this season to not blame McCarthy.
The fact that Doc went down all of the injuries, the unprecedented times, like all of these things New Year, new coaching staff from top to bottom, it's gonna be Ah, whole thing.
And let's give McCarthy another shot.
With that being said as a head coach, he isn't calling the plays, even though he has ah say in it because McCarthy feels like he has to.
It's very Jason Garrett disk, but, I mean, Kellen Moore is calling the plays.
He is doing his thing, and it's good to see because, if anything, **** man, make Kellen Moore the head coach.
Does he know how to run a locker room yet? No.
But you see the prototypical guy that you try to go higher nowadays, which is a young, offensive minded guy who could take risks.
Absolutely, we were talking about the other day.
I mean, a couple group, everyone was like, ****, just promote Kellan and go get you the most defensive minded defensive coordinator that you've ever seen in your life That is just here to run a drill sergeant drill every day.
You know, I feel like there's a lot of movies they could make.
But with that being said, McCarthy isn't necessarily focusing on the offense or the defense right now, and especially with the offense not having a quarterback now, it's just a bunch of like, Oh, well, what if Jack was here? What if Zeke was playing better? What if the offensive line was healthy? But I think Mike Nolan, the defensive coordinator who is his first year as well, mainly known for his time with Saints.
I hope, I hope, pray to God that it's a one year and out for him.
It's just been really embarrassing.
With the exception of last week with the Eagles, where you finally created turnovers, it has been the worst defense I've ever watched as a Cowboys fan in my entire life by like a large margin and I'm not used to good defense is in Dallas.
I am not used to it.
I don't I don't have a very often, if ever.
And this is Grand Canyon gap between the worst defense I've watched previously before this season.
So I hope Mike Nolan's gone.
I hope you continue to innovate and try and bring in different people.
I mean half the coaching staff of, like, assistance and stuff.
They're all like former players of McCarthy.
You have a bunch of Green Bay Packers that air retired that air, helping with linebackers, helping with the safeties and, like, What the **** are they doing like it's It's awful like you don't have a life.
He doesn't have many on offensive side of the ball, but you got all these guys that used to play for you on defense and Mike Nolan, who is supposed to be this defensive guy with all this experience and you're watching games like, Oh God, like, give it an effort, man.
So I mean, I hope the defense like that needs to like every draft pick that you have.
Defense, defense, defense, defense, defense.
Like if you draft a wide receiver again, even in the seventh round, I don't give a **** like I will freak out like you really have Cedric Wilson that you put on the field.
All these guys like come on, like it, Just like with how you feel about Jalen hurts like you need to draft for need, not for Flash.
And I think that's what they did with hurts, too, for the Eagles.
And I think the Cowboys maybe teetered the line on that with CD lamb.
But, I mean, when that value is there in a transcendent guy like that, you pulled the trigger, so I'll back that any day.
Even if Dak was here right now and we were still this bad, I would still say we still have his entire rookie contract.
You like Gallup walk now you don't even have a risk like you can trade away the Amari contract and still feel like you have a good receiving.
Well, like there's so many options there.
But, you know, I just really would love to see.
I mean, both of the teams Eagles and Cowboys, drafting strictly for need and drafting and trading back like if the Cowboys somehow get a top five pick.
I don't want to see a top five defender trade back and then trade back again and just get a flurry of draft picks.
Just do what the Seahawks do every year and just get a billion draft picks and just try your best and shoot shots like all you can do right now.
Don't don't go all in on a one defensive guy.
You know, I really, really hope to see some smart business decisions by, you know, the Eagles, for sure, But at least with Jerry Jones, like he's got to be on the hot seat with every cowboy fan.
It's just like Jerry, you know, it's been a long time in the flash is gone, you know? So what's next? You know, let's let's see some logistics worked on, so we'll see with that.
But I I think if anyone's on the hot seat, I for me, I like this.
I'm looking for more from Jerry Jones and less for more from McCarthy right now.
Yeah, I would agree.
I think you've got to give him another.
I hate the one and done scenario.
Except in a few.
There's always exceptions to the rule, right? Like sometimes you see enough out of a coach in one year where you're, like, get him the hell out.
Um, but I personally didn't like, Well, I love the higher as an Eagles fan because I don't I always said that Mike McCarthy was, um, the reason why Aaron Rodgers and win another Super Bowl.
Um hey, prioritizes weird things.
He never got Aaron Rodgers an offensive line.
He never got him running back.
He, in fact, put what Ty Montgomery, who was a wide receiver at running back for Aaron Rodgers and said, There you go, buddy.
Uh, look with pass protection, but yeah, have fun.
Um, that being said, though, the future is bright for the cowboys, and I can't say that is an Eagles fan Um e because I don't know if it's because of the coaching, though, You know, I would say you're not feeling good about the future because of what McCarthy's done this season.
You know, it's more like I think it's more of just like the roster that you have in the money that you're spending God**** right you got.
You got so many good young players on that team, and that would excite me as a Cowboys fan.
And it ****es me off A because I'm looking at and c d.
Lamb drop and the Falcons air on the board and decide that A.
Carroll is better draft pick than getting a first round of future seconds that the Eagles offered on.
Then he falls into the Cowboys hands.
And, of course, they're going to say, Well, if we don't take him here, the Eagles, they're gonna get them And then we got to deal with them for five years.
I mean, I felt I felt very similar, though, when you could snipe when you guys sniped, got her right before the Cowboys with That was I was sitting there like, Oh, you gotta be kidding me.
that like for that to e spend months dreaming about that.
But it just niggles were like, Oh, yeah, E Oh, but the Eagles, if you're okay with transitioning to the Eagles future, Um, the Eagles future is not bright.
That's why I'm more of ah, let's not make the playoffs seriously because you got how many years how many years does once have on the contract.
Things got four or more.
The new the new part of the contract just started.
Um, so you still got ah, lot left of that money? Um, but you're it's not a quarterback decision at that point.
You e think you ride him out, You you keep going.
If you have another bad year after this year, then you start making decisions on Carson once.
But I think you got you got to see what's going on.
You got to give him a full offseason and you know the talents there.
Maybe maybe it's a discussion with with Doug and how we Jeff Laurie, the owner of the goals, saying, What are you guys doing to make him better? What's gonna happen in this offseason? Um, but the Eagles, the biggest problem with the Eagles is we're $71 million over the cap for next year, and we're not young.
We got one of the oldest Foster's in the NFL that e think the only position you're young at in comparison the rest of the league would be running back.
I would say correct.
And you've got these aging players who all how he rose been fake this all out the GM fake this all out saying he we thought he was this genius with cap space.
And I even remember saying this a couple of years ago, one of my friends, um, what happens to all the back loaded contracts once they're back? Once we hit the back loaded years while we're here, this has happened and you're $71 million of the captain over the cap next year.
And with really no way to fix it, you could start trying to show you there's not a lot of value.
I would say for a lot of the stars that, like I mean, like Alshon Jeffery, who's still there, like even to Sean, like, there's not a lot of value out there like you'd be lucky to get 1/7 rounder for them, like in a trade nowadays.
Or else you just have to kind of wave people.
Yeah, I I would never want them to do this.
But even Fletcher Cox of Brandon Graham, who's gonna want a 30 year old lineman whose it's gonna be a competitor that's looking to get someone when they get released? Yeah, Levian bill situation kind of thing.
So you gotta build through the draft.
That's your Onley choice.
If you're the Eagles because you're not signing free agent linebacker next year, you're just not you can afford it.
Then you missed that opportunity this year.
Um, I'd like to see them moving back, just like the Cowboys like.
You need to continue to get more and more draft picks because you need to fill out this roster with people that can potentially contribute, like you don't know what you got right now, right? And I just I just fear I think at the end of this year that how we won't be back, that Jeff Laurie is finally seen enough and Howie Roseman? You think you think so? What if they win the division, though? Even though it's a sad win to the division.
You know, you think that's enough for for how we toe to hang on to him? It's hard to say, because Jeff Laurie and Howie Roseman are Jeff Laurie kind of sees him as a zoo, like a son to him.
Um, he brought him up in the in the organization.
He hand picked him, um, put him under a banner banner, put him under Andy Reid when Andy Reid head personal, um, decisions and then finally gave him his shot.
Um, so it's hard to say, but I think there's one thing that Philadelphia fans could do probably better than most fans around the around the country is.
We are owners, especially Jeffrey.
Lori listens to the fans, and if we end up 69 and one, the call for him Howie Roseman is job is gonna be outrageously loud, Phillies aggressive like there, the whole Keenan on it and go.
I think that's really how Philly I mean you can.
You can't debate Phillies.
Lack of passion.
We'll go to all the games, but well, boohoo, you, we don't care, and it's sometimes I've actually seen it where we're not actually doing any of the players and the coaches on the field or the court were booing the GM.
We could see in the box because we know what he did was wrong.
Um, and and I think that's what will probably happen at then this year unless they don't listen.
And it's 20 like you've said it's 2020.
Anything could happen there, sitting right now with 341 Let's say they go on some ridiculous run.
Carson Wentz somehow embodies the 2017 version off himself, and and and he just starts slinging the ball around like he used Thio.
Uh, is that possible? Sure, anything's possible in 2020.
Is it gonna happen? No.
They're gonna end up 69 and one somehow squeaking out a division win and then getting crushed in the first round of the playoffs.
Um, and to me, honestly, it's not worth it.
It's not worth it, because then you go into the off season, which $71 million over a cap.
You got a coach, Jeff, you got Jim Schwartz has got to be out at the end of this year.
Um, you need a linebacker in a play caller on defense.
So you need a linebacker in a safety.
Um, not to mention you got.
You need offensive line help.
How is that? How have the Eagles who have? The only thing I can say, though the only thing I can say is that in the NFL draft this year, if you're looking for offensive line help, there is a large number of extremely talented offensive linemen, and that's tackles and guards Like, I think if there is a year to take 345 shots at offensive line this year for both teams, you do it.
You go in the first, you go in the third.
You go in the fourth like you go in the seventh like you just pull in guys and see who's got it.
But there is led by I think its's PULO were from Oregon and then Leatherwood.
The two of them are probably two of the best prospects that I've seen in quite a long time, and I said Well, I think is his name from Oregon.
I know my co founder Christian, is massively big on him, like just and probably the best guy that I've seen come in since Tyronne Smith, and it's just really impressive, and I think this is the year to take shots.
With that being said, I haven't dove in too much toe other positions and how plentiful it's gonna be this year in the draft.
But it's just been well do***ented since last year like this.
This year is good for old line.
Next year is going to be even crazier kind of thing.
So I think that's the one positive thing that in regards of looking to the future through the draft for both teams, I think you just go online online o line defense, you know, Yeah, for both really, and the fact that the thing that scares the **** that it just scares me a lot is the fact that Doug Peterson has deemed himself his offensive coordinator.
And a report just came out locally in Philadelphia that he got him and gym shorts have stopped kind of talking.
They don't really It's like remember what? Remember the Titans when they go back and forth and you just worry about your defense and you just want your office.
That's literally the Philadelphia Eagles right now, Um and you can't coach a team like that.
There's a reason why head coach is a job because you coach the whole team.
You don't coach.
You don't coach.
Just the defense. Bill Belichick is enough.
It is more of a defense.
If I have never been a fan of head coaches ever having person like having decisions with play calling on either side of the ball, having an influence, sure, having actual play calling duties.
I've just never been a fan of that.
I just don't think you have a strong You don't have strong enough coordinators.
If you have to do that, you're coordinators.
Air Clearly not the right people for the job.
If you have to, do have their job like imagine going into your job at work and your manager, he's over your shoulder helping helping you or debating you on every decision throughout the game.
But it's like, Oh, you're the guy, but like I don't think you should e don't think used to do that, though.
Like, I think we should go with Option B and that's that's that's the demands, not not a request like, Yeah, so I I I'm worried as an Eagles fan for our future.
That's that's what I would say, um, and worried, too, because we can say what we want about the Giants.
They do have some good young pieces.
We can say what we want about the Washington football team.
But like we said earlier, their defensive line is terrifying.
And the Cowboys weapons air just the best in the division, to be honest, So, uh, that there's e.
I can't imagine how I would I would be livid looking at the field going.
So you're telling me I gotta Mark Cooper gallop it, Zeke, like you put a If you put a Ferrari in my driveway and two other power cars and say But the keys air gone and you just throw them in the lake and you're like, have fun looking at them, you piece of ****.
And I'm just sitting there like I would love to drive these cars.
That would be fun like on.
And then I have my Honda Civic, which is Zeke, which keeps breaking down on me every single intersection, like in fumbling every time we need to get somewhere like it's Yeah, that's the best ****ogy I can come up with right word to me Is an Eagles fan the brightest spot of my offenses? Yeah, we got Miles Sanders running back books gonna be track.
All right, I'm Travis Fulgham, who was undrafted or seventh round pick.
Not even that the Eagles drafted.
Yeah, we got lucky.
But I think the Eagles are I think what's gonna happen is a serious discussion.
Maybe Howie Roseman keeps his job.
But Jeff Laurie is going.
You're not made.
You're not making draft picks this year.
You get, you have, But you're not making the draft picks because you haven't hit in four years.
I'm a same time to I think that's you need to have the best scouting department in the world.
That is ableto literally tell you this is who we need tohave.
And you just need to approve things like I hate when people have too much say in decisions when in reality, like be the head coach, be the g m, which which is that decision, but role as that guy rely on the people you put in place to help you make that decision, you know, give you the statistics, give you the actual scouting reports and and there.
It's like being on the beautiful day of election, which I hate.
You know, it's like not listening.
Thio your board.
You know, it's like having an advisory board and having them go with you in the tour decision and them saying you all should do this and then being like, Nah, I'm good.
Like, Why are they there? You know, like you need to have people that when they when they talk, when they make a decision, it carries weight for you to a point where you're leaning on that decision just strictly off the reference.
And then it's you just confirming that unless you have a serious difference of opinion, which should be a rarity, it shouldn't be.
Every decision comes down to how you feel, and, um, you know, the flash and all that stuff.
I feel like both teams were trying to be too flashy with Jalen hurts and with some other picks and stuff where it's just like, let's just keep going after dogs that want to come and fight, you know, I think that's what we need.
We need to have these warriors out here that just really, really want to go to battle and you don't see that with with some of the guys, I think, and now is a good time.
Like I said with Cowboys, you trial and error tryout, Anybody out there on the defense? I don't care if we win or not.
I just want to see who wants to play football.
Who wants to be part of the long term pieces and then you draft from there, and I think that's just the best way to go because you said it best.
I think the offensive straight.
You take three shots and offensive linemen and the rest better be defense on, and I think with next year I don't see the division improving night and day.
I still think it could be a seven and 988 division next year, which is sad, But I mean, it could be the Cowboys finally coming in tow, who they have on paper.
But I mean, it's been how long since they've really made noise done anything, you know, it's it's been a while, so it's no longer Oh, America's team.
This money championships like you got it s'more.
Every business in this world is what have you done for me lately.
And if anything, your current coaching staff, your current ownership has mawr of that than the cowboys due to say, like, how do we repeat? How do we repeat that? How do we go back to it? Like, how do we replicate that? How do we taking pieces of that? You still have a couple of people on the team that won that championship, you know, And with the Cowboys, you have a 19 year olds 20 year olds that, you know, you get drafted and you were like, Oh, my dad was a massive cowboy from back in the day but he got toe live through all the great times.
But, you know, nowadays, that really, really hasn't been any.
That's why it has to be Jerry Jones on.
You know what's next, bro? You know, that's where I'm looking at it kind of thing.
So you got any last thoughts you want to throw in on either team or just the NFL in general? Uh, now I'm pretty good.
Other than I'm really, really, really scared about my future, the future of my team.
But e think it's on.
Lee can go up from here.
I think the next the next stream that we do here. Well, space it out.
So there will be some significant progress in one direction or the other.
Uh, what it's about this particular subject, but yeah.
Yeah, we're obviously huge on on the football here at Unwrapped Sports, me and Alec.
