What's up, everyone? I'm appear Champ Sports here starting a no broadcast and O.
M g the Philadelphia 70 Sixers have hired a new head coach, assistant coach and general manager for next season.
So Episode six is here off the OMG Weekly Siri's I do this OMG 10 to 20 minute ramble about some breaking news is happens every Tuesday in the evening and this Tuesday is no different.
So this is gonna be an interesting one.
Um, this is gonna be an interesting one as Philadelphia has made some moves with the staff and this.
As you know, the 70 Sixers haven't really found a way to win.
They have a talented team with a talented young duo, and Ben Simmons and Joe L and B haven't found a way to win.
And they hired some call new additions to their staff, so hopefully that can help them next.
See Zen? All right, so, yeah, let's just started.
So, basically, the Philadelphia 70 Sixers fired Brett Brown after their sweet to the Celtics.
Let's go Boston, um, to the sweep against us, not against the Celtics.
Like the Celtics swept them in the first round off the playoffs this year, meaning firing Brett Brown shot and bread Brown.
He was there for the entire process, and it really they really got back to being a top team in the Eastern Conference since, like Iverson.
So this is the best since Iverson for the 76 or at least, and But they just couldn't find a way.
They didn't have been Simmons.
I do think that was a crucial would like I I didn't think they'd win even if they had been Simmons.
But even still, I was still Ah, big blow for them.
Um, so and now they were looking for a head coach and they decided to take on Clippers.
Fired coach, Former coach, championship coach Doc Rivers, Thio Philadelphia Um, I was, in my opinion, I was kind of like neutral about it.
Um, and beat Doc Rivers is always like a gritty like like tough minded coach.
That's usually works well with vets, people who know how toe win and then beetle m oh my God! And say and beating Joel in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
They're really young, and they haven't They don't really aren't the most tough guys on the court.
They're They're both great on defense.
They both are all stars, but they aren't like necessarily, like tough within themselves on the course.
Or maybe doctors can help them.
It's just an interesting fit, though.
Um, he's This is a team he always want.
He likes to bring wins, and that's what he always brings.
He always brings you a good coach.
I think he's still like a top.
Maybe like 10 15 coach in the n b a, um, despite, you know, getting fired.
If you still a great coach, you just couldn't find a way to win with a specific team being the clippers, Um, that with the whole, like, the the expectation, but of a championship team.
And I didn't think they would win the championship.
And obviously, that did not turn out really well.
Um, thank you to the new follower, by the way.
Much, much, much appreciated.
Um, so yeah, basically, Um, So Doc Rivers was a Philadelphia 70 Sixers head coach.
Now he did say that they he did.
He wasn't like I want to come to Philadelphia.
The 70 Sixers wanted him to come, so I thought that was very interesting, because that's the dog Riverside interview.
They wanted me, and I mean, that would be a good That would be a good fit.
Hopefully, I am.
Doc Rivers is still a great coach, coaching a great team, young team.
But he will maybe help the team like, get better because they still have, like, two of the biggest contracts and leave.
But Doc Rivers is about the gameplay, not like the management and stuff as well as they did hire someone to be that guy.
Then the higher Dan Burke to be an assistant was a 22 year assist.
A coach for the Indiana Pacers, UM 19 assistant who was behind Nate McMillan.
That's a team that also has a lot to do with their staff.
Um and yeah, they have a lot to do with the staff there.
With Nate McMillan and Dan Burke on novel, I realized, um, but he's going to come in as the assistant coach.
I think they re I think they already have my email Udoka as the assistant, so he will be a secondary assistant coach.
I mean, if I can just google it right here, but I think they have, um, e May Udoka um, as the assistant for the now sisters, John Bryant.
I think they No, wait, no, no, that's not a system.
Yeah, he may. Udoka was their assistant coach.
So now they get a secondary assistant coach to Dan Burke and Joel Embiid and Dan FERC.
I think Danburg literally said that he does not like Joel Embiid and how he plays, but now they're literally on that with the same organization.
So but that's gonna be interesting fit.
I don't know much about Dan Burke.
Unfortunately, however, I do know he's a longtime veteran with the Indiana Pacers and he'll come in.
Those are all the stuff I know about him.
I don't know much, but I that's all I can say about Danburg.
And then I, in my opinion, the biggest move of all.
The 70 Sixers hired Daryl Morey, former general manager of the Houston Rockets, the big risk taker.
Legendary GM Daryl Morey to be Phillies next general manager.
They do have Elton Brand.
Elton Brand has has done some good and bad things.
He's, uh, he's done a pretty um, he did a good job drafting Ben Simmons.
He's done, uh, pretty good job like constructing this team together.
Um, they he hasn't done a great job giving contracts out.
Um, he doesn't get a good job giving contracts out because, you know, Al Horford and to buy shares have two of the most overpaid contracts in the league right now.
So that's not something to really be proud of as a general manager to have that as you giving those contracts out.
So however, he does have some good and the bad things about him, but they did.
He will be an assistant, and I'll step down here.
Won't take most of it as Daryl Morey is gonna come out and be like the boss that I had General Manager, which I think he has Thio.
If he's on the team, he has to be that.
And he was for the Rockets.
He was what he's been there with James Harden with probably one of the best GM player relation in the entire history of the n B A.
I'm not even lying about the I think that is literally true.
Um, and then now coming into Philadelphia, you know Darrell Moore is always I already talked about Daryl Morey a lot in my OMG.
Episode four When I was talking a bit about the Houston Rockets because like my first three episodes were about, like the playoffs and the finals and stuff and then we're going to get into the off season.
Um, so then that was the thing.
By the way, this actually happened, like a bit ago.
Like it was a while level since Daryl Morey hired to Philly like four, four or five days ago.
It's been a good amount of time.
This is a weekly thing, and I have Thio say, like it's a weekly thing.
So he also did say he really likes this.
Philadelphia 76 is roster.
Hey, is the team president.
Um and this will be an interesting experiment.
Darrell Moore has always been a risk taker.
Good some good way, some bad way.
But one thing you can take about him, he wants, he knows how toe win.
Philly has been a winning team for the past three years.
Um, the process, But they still have the process for like, the process is pretty much ended.
But now they still have these young guys.
But even though they are young and they're further future 76.
There are now team Right now.
There is no more future when it comes to this team.
They've really relied on the future for so many years.
So this is a now team.
There are more. He knows how. The win.
Now, if anything, um, there's always been something about Thank you, Tammy N.
Y. 32 for joining the broadcast.
There's always something about the m beating Simmons not working, and I do want to talk about that a bit.
Daryl Morey said that they can absolutely work together, and I kind of agree and disagree with that.
I do think that the pieces around these two, I mean, I feel like the play styles don't fit next to get together.
Ah, point guard that, um, a PG that drives the basket doesn't have an outside shot in the center that is post paint heavy with, uh uh, he always sits in the pain and has he's one of the best post players in the entire league.
Ben Simmons, though, can create for others.
He, I think, was like top three and assisted three pointers.
Um, and even then job Allenby can space the floor a bit.
A little bit, um, he could face the floor a little bit, so yeah, he can, um, thank you to the new.
By the way, we've gained two followers today.
Much, much appreciated.
Um, so he could space the floor a little bit.
Um, he sometimes shoots it a bit too much.
And Ben, But Ben Simmons, you always throw it up.
They still have our ***** for their They're gonna make some trays.
They're gonna make some moves that are gonna make some signings.
Hopefully there are gonna make some good draft picks, and that is they.
Hopefully, I do think they, um, should because I didn't like the construction of this team this year.
Um, really disappointing for Philly this year.
But I do think talking Darrelle Darryl's gonna ease like everything work.
He's one of the if if he wins like a championship, We one of the better general managers in the entire league.
But, I mean, he hasn't found a way to do that.
And now he they think that, um you know, Houston just wasn't the place.
They tried a lot with James Harden. It didn't work.
Um, similar hard I think hardens pieces around having been so great and same thing with and beaten Simmons.
They're still young.
They could still coexist.
But I feel like the pieces around them have not been great.
They still lack a bit of depth.
They do have they don't have a real point guard.
I do like shake milk on the wings.
Better that as the point guard, Because, yeah, I was like to assist a game this year when starting out when starting in the mobile, you would like to assist games.
I do like him on the wings a bit.
Mawr, Um and then they don't they Tobias was really pretty struggling this year.
Um, Josh Richardson was a good addition to them.
But more guys like that maybe get a true point guard, get a playmaker Um, e actually been some This is a great player and get it like maybe like a true point guard, I guess.
And maybe another secondary playmaker.
I did like T. J. McConnell.
When Kitchen McConnell was on that team, I did like him a lot.
They don't really have a guy like that.
Uh, so yeah, Daryl Morey Den Berg, Doc Rivers um, are three guys that have been on a winning culture when they were a coach.
Three guys that have some better than others and they're gonna bring that experience.
They're both all veteran.
There are veteran.
They all have experienced a lot.
Doc Rivers, uh, is a veteran coach.
He's an experienced coach.
I mean, he has worked ah lot with this Rockets organization, and it's all just maybe the previous years won't be remembered.
But this, um, but this harden experiment with Harden will always be remembered.
And then Danburg being a very good veteran, experienced coach for the Pacers for the past decade and mawr assistant.
So, um, yeah, I do think Daryl Morey What? I do think Daryl Morey will dio um, he does like the roster.
However, there is some.
He always he always is a shooting team and I hope I think fairly This is a team that desperately needs shooting.
Houston needs like a center that can hold on the paint.
And, um, but now this is a team that needs shooting.
They already have their center and then beat um, Ben Simmons is safe.
Um, Ben Simmons.
Is there gonna be there, Playmaker, That James Harden to Philly is something that has been kind of going around.
Um and honestly, um, it has to be for Ben Simmons because I don't really see why, uh, Philly would give up their center without, like, much of a backup of me that could go.
Simmons and Harden and E O.
Josh and Tobias and Horford.
I do like to biases before, though they can.
I do think they should look to trade out of Wharf ritual and move to buy shares to the fore position because I feel like he's best utilized at the of power forward.
Um, he had his best season last year.
He was a 20 point scorer, space before his athletic.
But now he just relied on to be a shooter.
He isn't as efficient.
He had a different role.
He wasn't a main score and and beaten.
Simmons are very offensive players and scores, but they do other things. Ben Simmons.
I feel like his best of attribute isn't his offensive game, and scoring is his playmaking.
It's his defense, and Joel Embiid can't, uh, set the picks.
He plays great defense.
They're not all, like elite, elite level scores.
In my opinion, all both of them aren't elite elite level scores like a James Harden, which, and honestly, with a guy like that, he is They don't have their defense is really solid. I do like their defense.
They have good into protector in Jo Jo.
Um, they have great perimeter defender.
They're shooting kind of LAX.
They don't have another to boycott because I like Ben Simmons on another spot on the floor.
Anything? Well, um, work.
Ravens fan. 19 for during the broadcast.
Much appreciate it.
Um, Darrell Moore could make anything work.
He's really, um small ball worked better than expected.
No, not small, but I wouldn't say small block or bigger than expected.
However, up to rust and rust on.
Um, um, Harden worked better than expected.
Shooters, point guards, um, maybe get get rid of the contracts.
Maybe there because Tobias and Al Horford they're literally locked up.
They have four year long term deals, So there it looks like they're not going anywhere.
Uh, I mean, they could go anywhere but like like they're not gonna They're not gonna ask for, like, a bigger contract and that they they're already getting the money they both don't deserve.
But yeah, it's gonna be an interesting experiment.
Yeah, 70 Sixers are always a team that has the potential right now to make the conference finals next year.
I could say that Well, today is the big question and beat and Simmons could break down the playoffs.
Yes, they didn't miss him this year, but when he was playing in the playoffs, he kind of underperformed Joel Embiid at a fantastic post season this year.
But he couldn't do it all by himself.
Um, they didn't have Tobias Harris and Al Horford, their big contract guys really struggled.
They should have spent their money.
I even maybe, if they wanted to keep to buy shares for, like, a bit cheaper.
Um, honestly, I do think they should have done that.
And they also they could have kept him for a bit cheaper.
But they also could have invested a lot of good money in JJ Red****.
I didn't get why they go out.
In that case, he is the Embiid stopper.
Uh, most likely wasn't gonna re sign with Boston anyway, So mhm.
Gotta maybe adjusting be to go up against him like stuff like that, instead of throwing out Horford the best paid paycheck he's ever gonna get in his career.
So, um, but maybe Darrell Moore will be smarter with this contract situation.
I'll be interesting to see how the Rocket not the Rockets, the 70 Sixers played this off season free agency drafting.
I'll be interested to see how they put do that.
And yeah, that's basically gonna be a the 70 Sixers have still have a lot of work to dio, but they're off to a good start.
This is a staff that could really work or maybe like, not work together.
And this is gonna be interesting how they work with the players and how they change this roster up, because that's one thing that may be Philadelphia's.
Even 76 or seven will say to change this roster up, and that's not even a bad thing.
Honestly, that's not even a bad thing.
Siri's episode six Thursday is my top 10 shooting guards in the n B A.
I did talk to a point guards, Um, two streams ago.
Um, and those are always controversial, But they're always fun videos, and yeah, it's been compere champs sports here.
See you guys on Thursday.
And yeah, hopefully the 70 Sixers can do something, and hopefully this won't this whole coaching in this this everything that they've done will just not work out and go to waste.
