Everyone You were listening.
Thio Tuesday night Patriots Episode 29 It's the first episode of the month of November.
Aziz, we were almost going into the end of the year.
Crazy enough, um, And before we get started, um, tonight is a big night.
Of course, for our country in America tonight, this is election Day and just wanted Thio tell you guys on here for those that haven't or those air thinking about, make sure to go out to vote.
As you've probably seen all around social media by now, it's obviously a privilege to vote.
I voted this morning and just, you know something that you have the freedom todo if you're 18 or over.
So, um, you know, it's obviously we'll see how the night goes.
I have it on my my TV right now, just kind of the coverage of the election, which not huge.
I'm not a huge political guy.
I don't really follow much in terms of politics and stuff like that.
But obviously for Election Day and obviously for the candidates running for president, it's obviously a pretty big night.
Uh, take to wash it.
So I just want to quickly Just, you know, tell you guys, if you have and you just go vote, I think the polls for a bunch of locations air still open from whatever you guys are located.
But here on the East Coast, it's about 7 to 8 p.
m. That night on.
But it's easy to dio Did you go about a zlotys? Your not waiting a terrible online.
I think I waited for about 5 10 minutes, then my ballot and left s so it was really, really easy.
I just want to quickly get that quickly out there.
Um, before we get started as well, Thio, I just wanna If you guys have any questions you can put in the channel of section If you guys have anything, asked me after its own, um, you can ask me via Twitter my message, not be glad not to answer as best as possible.
We're in the patriots, um, in terms.
What's going on right now? Um, and then the past episodes, um, you could walk in the breakdown channel w w dot t h b r k d w.
And that's part of the Breakdown Sports Channel as well as my SportsCastr profile, which is a bunch of my past dreams are on there as well.
So and then on Twitter, uh, my Twitter handle this posing on my SportsCastr and sports forecaster Twitter.
There's a bunch of episodes I have in there that's passed so quickly, just some agenda news.
Um, and tonight we'll talk about last game between the Patriots and the Bills.
But I thought the Patriots really fought hard after a really embarrassing loss, the way their effort was against the 40 Niners.
The trade deadline happened today for the NFL.
Besides the election day happening today, there was an NFL trade deadline, Um, the pages of a couple moves not, you know, you know, huge moves by any means.
But obviously it's, um, death to some positions where they are kind of lacking right now and see if they might want to use them for not only this ship, but potentially for some years to come.
So I'll talk about those little bit on, uh, this bunch of stuff with the team.
What? I've been seeing.
Some comments that Bill Belichick's been making.
That is about this week in terms of the Cap and kind of where the state of team is about A lot of people are interested in about, so I'll get about I'll talk about that.
Jimmy Garoppolo uh, there's been swirling about potentially from Steve Young, who was a really great, well known quarterback from the nine received is on yesterday, uh, for the ESPN Monday Night football crew.
He was talking about how he might not be their long term answer.
Potentially Jimmy G Reunion in New England.
We'll have to see.
We'll talk about that.
So a lot to get into tonight.
Um, and like I mentioned before, quick agenda note Tonight his election night.
It's Election Day, obviously, for the whole day, but obviously, if you guys having yet, um, had the chance to go vote, uh, how we recommend to go do so.
I did this earlier today, and it's just very.
I was very privileged to go and do it.
And obviously it's something for the country of the Yusa, Um, for for to do so, um, all right, so let's get it quickly into the, um, Patriots Bills game.
Patriots had a very crushing, crushing loss to their division arrival.
The Buffalo Bills 24 to 21.
The pictures are now dropped to two and five.
This is a very critical game for them this past weekend.
Kind of determined, if you know where they kinda should invest in with the team if they shouldn't be.
But, um, you know, this is kind of just a similar loss, Uh, that we've kind of seen a couple losses.
They've been really close, and they've made just a bunch of crucial mistakes At the end.
The Seattle game was obviously a great moral victory, I thought, even though it za lost.
But, you know, I was only the second game of the year.
The Denver game.
The patch didn't necessarily play that well.
The Denver almost gave it away at the end, but the pads didn't convert the fourth down in Denver's territory.
And then in this game, it was It came down to, um you know, Cam Newton, Uh, you know, he had a pretty solid day.
Uh, you know, comparing to what he's done the last several weeks.
And this is now without two guys.
And I forgot to mention, and Mikey notes that Julian Edelman is officially on ir.
Uh, this guy has been a warrior with this Patriots team, one of my favorite Patriots ever.
But his career might be coming to an end.
I think it shouldn't surprise anybody.
Uh, it's just he he's obviously had the wear and tear along on his body.
Um, just got that been one of the most competitive fierce, obviously one of Brady's guys between him and Garak, but he just he just represent a lot of the Patriots dio.
But I think his time is definitely coming to an end.
I know he doesn't want it to be, but, uh, they reportedly on all got into a little bit about it later, but he he didn't play in the kill.
Harry has been battling concussion, so he was out.
So the Patriots on Sunday had to rely on three receivers Isaiah Zuber, Gunnar Al Cesky and Jacoby Meyers.
Not necessarily the three receivers that was gonna scare anybody on the on the defensive side.
But we have to see how can no one be able to do as they say next.
Man up eso as quickly got into it.
The Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, obviously talking about being the next changing of the guard after the Patriots been the FCS Keynes for the last 1920 years between Brady and Belichick.
And now they feel like the Patriots potential dynasty.
Um, think about it.
Crazy enoughto might see it starting to go down, and obviously it's It's obviously something to think about, but the Bills were six and to the three and one at home.
But to be, to be honest, the Bills have been, uh, they've been very beatable.
Um, they have a lot of flaws, is about 13 despite the fact of where they stand, I thought that the trade deadline was very crucial for them, that they wanted to make another move by today, and they didn't also, uh, my headlines talked about all the latest moves that have not a lot of huge moves, and I'm not surprised about because of contract issues, you know, Kobe going on.
But I was kind of surprising about some guys that were reportedly shot before the deadline happened, and none of them came to agreement.
Now, with that being said, there is always a cut wire, the transaction wire and you're starting to see some names now going on so I will have that.
But in terms of pickups and stuff like that, not what happened.
Patriots for a little one of the teams that didn't make kind of an interesting news.
So I'll talk about that once, like once I get to it.
So once again, the Patriots lost by the final score, 24 21 in Buffalo against the Buffalo Bills of Buffalo.
Bills are six and two of the Patriots are two and five eso.
Let's quickly recap how the game went.
Running back Zach Moss and the Buffalo Bills had an eight yard touchdown run that was on the first drive.
Patriots like I like I've been saying for the Tuesday night Patriots last several weeks.
They still have had a hard time controlling the run, especially the outside the Bills.
I thought the Bills offense going.
There were a lot of Josh Allen throwing a lot of the football and you know, he did a times he did try to take his deep shots as usual, But the Bills a lot of this game ran the football because the Patriots just really kind of some kind of similar to what the Niners did on the running backs.
Just did a zone left in his own right, and they try to make the Patriots with their thin at defensive tackle and linebacker.
Now another guy is now off of the season.
Uh, the defensive tackle.
The demon play a snap? Um, I'll get to that quickly as well, but they're just so thin.
Um, the Patriots are, and it's because of Bill, obviously, for the draft picks, obviously not addressing kind of the needs for the future, but it's also to a lot of opt outs.
You've seen it also, some trade.
So you know, there's obviously some things you kind of the work about, because last year Patriots, You know, for a while in the first couple of weeks of the season, nobody really could know what to do with against them.
So Zack Moss, who had a big game of the Bills he had no, you're touchdown around me and said nothing.
Patriots in the second quarter Folk Nick folk, who has actually been a decent, bright spot, kind of kind of hasn't really been mentioned.
That is kind of a guy to be went down this year kicker was was a problem last year for the Patriots, but Full had two field goals made 43 yards and a 33 yard.
So still blows my mom with a period of side of graphic kicker when there's still a bunch.
A couple guys that receiving.
But that's obviously a subject for another day.
S O, because I have time were up, 76 The Bills got the ball start the second half.
They scored a touchdown once again by Moss, second on the day four yard run.
Made a 14 to 6 pictures that I really had a hard time offensively moving the football.
Lots of penalties, which they haven't been doing the way this season.
There's a bright spot for this kind of struggle this year.
Sluggish here and saving Patriots this year, but penalties have usually been a bright spot, but not in this game.
On Sunday, um, Patriots.
It gets, um, life, though.
David Harris, who Ah, lot of people are high about on the running back position.
He had a day he had a day and I'll go through the steps well, but he had a 22 yard touchdown run, uh, paper decided.
Go for two Cam hit Jacoby Meyers to another big game.
As I mentioned last week, he was one of the only guys can really kind of had in sync.
And this was another good game between the two.
So came in a two point conversion of 14 14 and then this mind boggling idea that have a onside kick after the Patriots tight it and kind of the Bills.
You know, they score a couple drives at at times, but and if you tie the game and you stop the Patriots defense, stop the Bills.
I believe the dry.
Before they scored the touchdown, let them beat you full field.
No, I just don't understand that whole entire sequence.
Um, luckily enough, the Patriots able come back and tie it after the Bills.
That short field.
I thought I was just kind of give up Dr Something very unlike Patriot, but I guess it's just, you know, they're trying to see if they could get a lead.
You know, the pages of a hard time trying to get leads right now, really been falling behind a lot of politics been saying about it that they falling behind, and maybe they wanted to catch them off guard.
It didn't happen to be that way.
So the Bills on side the kick, they were covered it.
There they were, moving down the field and short field, and they scored two yard touchdown run by their quarterback, Josh Allen.
Tyler basking in field goal, 21 14.
Patriots were driving fourth quarter.
I thought third quarter in fourth quarter.
I thought the Patriots offense actually did quite decent moving the football.
Um, you know, obviously, I think that should give Patriot fans and optimism despite the loss, uh, to take away that there was some positives.
Their offensive line of the Pats, I thought, played a lot better.
Not, that's like not 3rd and 4th quarter.
Cam had some decent throws, coupled, endured obviously, lots of Myers.
Hey, had he obviously used his legs to you had a two yard touchdown touchdown run full of made the P A t 21 all Tyler Bass.
The Bills were driving about four minutes left and the game, uh, and Alan, Um, I went outside and he tried to have Gabriel Doug Davis.
He's a young receiver and he was kind of open, you know.
Jesse Jackson was within reach, but Davis dropped it.
The Patriots gotta break.
Only held him with free.
Now the Patriots, the final page had a chance to go the final drive.
Either kick a field goal inside for so T or to win it, potentially on board.
Pages were driving the whole entire drive.
They started kind of like their buffaloes on 20.
They convert a couple first downs a couple of runs by can.
A couple of those bird like I mentioned Myers on.
Then they got to about the 2015 yard line of the own buff of Buffalo Zone Buffalo, pretty much to use a lot of their time out, so they didn't have much.
The Patriots were able to tie it, and it was just a boneheaded mistake by Can, where he oiled the ball was kind of loose and a guy from Buffalo, Zimmer things his last name. Linebacker.
We made a good play, but obviously he you know, it was obviously kind of easy for him to just swat away.
Crushing way to end.
It can was obviously extremely frustrated.
Looked like he was crying the sideline, which obviously feel for him because he's been campaigning so hard to try to find ways to win football games for this team right now.
And Bills recovered it.
They just took a knee, and that was that.
Once again, the Bills 24 21.
Patriots obviously, is a crushing loss because the Patriots really had a chance to not only got points at the end, they could have won it.
They could have won 28 24 Patriots, you know, obviously still have made it stop, but they would have, um you know, if the Bills one that they would have had to score touchdown toe, win it, and they might have not had enough time.
So it could have been from a gushing loss crushing loss to a pretty good Wayne.
And now you have some confidence against a really low.
I mean, a dreadful Jets team.
I will, um I will.
I will have ah preview about that tonight as well.
But the Patriots are now two and five.
Obviously got to move forward with the way this season's been going.
Yeah, and we'll see how it goes.
Um, next I want to get into waas these stats of the game.
So let's quickly wrote to no England So Cam Newton.
And like I mentioned, you didn't play terrible.
I would give him kind of Morrissey kind of a very conservative cam doing, uh, from from this game and obviously giving them position to win it at the end.
Obviously, a crucial fumble.
Um, that was his fault, sadly, But obviously, I thought besides that, he made a lot of good throws, a lot of better throws in the last couple of weeks.
But obviously people are going to criticize him for that mistake at the end, which is, you know, obviously understandable.
But obviously, I thought that the Patriots still had a lot of weaknesses that are gonna come and obviously stopping the run.
It was one of them, um so camel asses from the day 15 to 2574 yards, seven yards passing for each attempt, which is really, really good.
No touchdowns, no interceptions.
So we didn't turn the ball over after having a couple of picks the last couple of games, um, had two picks two weeks ago against Denver and then three against the Niners were really back to back.
We do not turn the ball over now.
Buffalo has a decent defense.
They really struggled.
I thought eso cam was able to kind of take a shots, but he did.
Was able to be turnover free.
Besides, I fumble and I thought that was very, very crucial, that they had a chance to win, which they had a chance to.
Harris running back.
The running game is pretty good.
Um, and he had 16 carry, 102 yards, 6.
4 yards a rush and a touchdown.
Newton was nine carries for 54 yards, six yards average Rush and a touchdown Receiving Myers.
Like I said, Decent day.
Six receptions for 58 yards, 9.
7 yards a catch.
Samir Bar was the other guy that they, uh that can really likes it.
Did have only three cash for about 40 yards, 13 yard to catch, and then white his own Subaru Chad couple receptions as well.
Josh Allen didn't throw any touchdowns.
This is now back back weeks, actually, three weeks.
The Patriots have lost, but they have not given up the passing touchdown Drew lock, no passing touchdown Jimmy Garoppolo, no passing touchdowns and Josh Allen.
No passing touchdowns, but a lot more rushing touchdowns.
And obviously, that's a flaw.
Is them stopping the run this year? Um, so Alan wasn't necessarily great, but he still gave me the chance to win, which he ended up doing.
Hey was 11 of 18 450 or yards, no touchdowns of pick.
Jackson made a pretty critical pick a time when I was 73 The Bills are about to drive to the end, and Al is trying to hit digs.
It's got more miscommunication.
Not really Allen's fault.
Ah, but the Pat's got it.
It came to field goal at the end game, a little confidence made 76 Buffalo.
So that was that.
How to Russian Field Day.
Really silvery back, as I mentioned last week.
14 carats for 86 yards, 6.
1 yards of Rush, No touchdowns.
But Boss was the guy 14 cares for 81 yards, 5.
8 yards of Russia and two scores are then Joshua on 10 carries, 23 yards, 2.
3 yards rushing.
A QB snake receiving Stefon Diggs.
Obviously kind of Allen's guy had six receptions for 92 yards, 15.
3 yards average of cash.
You did have a couple of big players in the game where the Patriots kind of like they're tackling.
I didn't score, though, which obviously was big for the Pats.
And then a couple of the crucial of receivers.
They didn't do a whole lot, which was big recently had two Cats of 24.
Brownlee had one reception for 21 yards, and Tyler Cross, their tight end, had one reception for 11 yards.
So think about overall, um, Patriots defense.
I give them hello, See, because there's a run.
Defense is still struggling.
Offensively, I'll give them a C plus B minus lots of good stuff to come out of that second half I thought that you could build off of, Um, I just thought the penalties.
Lots of penalties that offensive lineman Tooni Mason.
So they obviously have to clean that up for next week when they play the Jets.
So that's kind of your quick break breakdown.
I'll quickly go to on my crease, had to say about, uh, I began this past me again.
Like Reese I won't get to everything.
He just has a cleaning the Patriots notebook.
I'll go through the top three things, he said.
Um, hey, said last week.
Theme was that before the Patriots could win, they had to learn how not to lose.
That's obviously still applies this week after Cam Newton's devastating loss from when the final drive up to that point, I thought the Patriots had the right form of four victories.
Coordinator Josh McDaniels squeezing everything he got out of the limited personal on offense and the defense playing mostly six defensive backs.
Seven defensive back packages protects against the passing game and Big Player, which in turn left then vote liberal against the run.
Special teams pulled enough off the Reverend clock and complementary Formula Silver all they're in position to win until the big Mystic does.
To subscribe to what Cam Newton seven W I just one play here or there in the narrative of what is being discussed is being flipped.
Now it's about making those plays.
The good teams find a way.
One of my top notes.
After reviewing the game, Patriots badly missed Danny Shelton after Lawrence Guy there hit or miss a defensive tackle are nearly early down Byron Cowart and Nick Thurman with a free agent signing Bothwell and Septimus.
And this is the guy that the Patriots got this offseason from Tampa.
With region signing Bo Allen set to miss the entire year due to an injury, it seems fair to say the yelling for Shelton exchange has been a big miss.
Injuries obviously are imposed impossible to forecast, but perhaps there's also something be said for sometimes it's better to stick with a guy, you know.
Even it costs slightly more.
With God being knocked out of the second half, the sun is lost. The shoulder injury.
This looks like a significant trouble spot personnel wise.
Right now, the reason God shoulder so important is that they can occupy multiple blockers and remain competitive, even with the Patriots are outnumbered.
And this similar to the vegetable Fourth days, when Mulford was playing no see regular regularly took up two blockers, and for that alone, um, his value to the D was great.
Cowards play early in the second half is tough to watch, but then he flashed the play five minutes and 41 seconds left in the fourth, But the Patriots needed tackling Devin Singletary for for one yard loss.
Something that kind of shows potential there, they're consistent over is not.
Ideally, he'd do Number three.
Option, in my view, so to kind of wrap things up with kind of what he said.
The first note, uh, their chances to win.
Obviously, Cam understands that he is really close, and we said this week that just one win kind of gives that team confidence.
You know, it's obviously it's it's gonna be hard to kind of get in.
The playoff race is right now, because a lot of teams are really kicking Garrett there.
Um, so it's really hard to kind of see, but they kind of have to see how Wooden kind of feels like once again, I know for as a Patriot fan, you know, I'm kind of used the one in for a while and obviously losses.
They're gonna happen, and it's probably happen a lot more than we're accustomed to, so that's kind of the way it's gonna happen that way.
So, um, but that being said, though kind of the losses that they've had have been just been tough because they've been winnable games and with that being said, they just had to turn the page, move on and focus on the bill.
Uh, not the bills, the Jets.
Uh, my wife said.
And this coming Monday night, once again, this is a Monday Night football game, and I'm speaking of my night football.
Tom Brady are good old friend.
He played in Monday Night Football last night, pulling out a win.
A really crazy finish to that game against the Giants.
Okay, one of Tom Brady and I was a period of fan.
I'll admit it's one of the teams he to somehow struggles with, but he did find a way to win that game last night against them.
All right? So, Bill, Bill, check out us this week couple times from different Boston radio stations and, uh, that I kind of asked him, How do you feel about the team right now? The state that they're in two and five something that Bill's not really used Thio at least lately in a while of kind of where they stand.
But he kind of had an interesting answer.
So he said in quote, We sold out and we want three Super Bowls and quote.
We were pretty heavily invested in our team in the past few years, Belichick told us one time assistant coach.
From a salary cat standpoint, we didn't have much flexibility at all.
Well, Check also told Charlie We squeeze who was on within this week on the radio, he told police that the team lost and players who decided to opt out of their contracts and pursue free agency.
The long time rulers of the FCS also lost eight players who opted out of the plane this season due to coronavirus.
Is there that would have normally have given us a significant amount of playing time, said Belichick, which is very interesting.
Uh, guys like he probably went to say Calvin Noi elected to Miami landing Roberts Other guy kind of a second string, but he played quite a bit.
Danny Shelton, who I just mentioned, uh, he's gone from Detroit.
Um I mean, well, it's the guys dont a Hightower opted out one of your best tacklers.
Well, Patrick Chung, somebody says, got lots of guys that we would see it out there on defense.
That plan has a lot of playing time.
Those were some guys I think he was trying to say.
Beltre also speaking to the creation of this of years less than stellar team.
Look, we paid Cam doing $1 million.
I mean, it's obvious we didn't have any money.
It's nobody's fault.
If you guys wanna listen to kind of the audio clip, um, he there's you can you could look, you could watch it.
Um, it's been posted.
A lot of places probably go to YouTube and this click that, Um, it's kind of interesting.
What what? He said.
The Patriots have lost four straight games for the first time since 2000.
Not only have they lost several, but to think about 2000 was the last time the Patriots lost four straight games.
They look back to get in the winning ways when they face the Jets, where, by the way, have not won the game.
The Jets do the Patriots off because the division they know each other well.
They give the Patriots, um, good games good for games.
For the most part, I know the parents blew out the blow them out like 30 to nothing last game.
But I think that, well, it's especially with the way the pages air playing.
This is obviously every games will be tough.
Every game is going to be tough.
And I just don't want to take the Jets lately.
Yes, they have a lot of issues.
They have a lot of problem is more than probably the Patriots have in terms of personnel packages.
And obviously they want to try to get the number one overall pick, which I think this will on Trevor Lawrence.
But, you know, I still wouldn't rule this team out to at least be competitive with the pads in this game.
Um, the Jets are winless in eight tries and have the worst drink offense.
Uh, this year, All right.
So Dan Orlovsky, for those that don't know Dan Orlovsky are are aware of.
And then Arlovski works in the NFL, live on ESPN.
And let's just say he I don't know if he doesn't like the patriarch eyes.
You know, we kind of had some choice words for them last year, but now I think he's starting become more of a realist.
What kind of where they are because they mentioned some things last year that thinking he thought last year that the Bills were won the division, they were close enough.
It looks like the Bills will won the division of this year, kind of where everything puts out, see how it goes.
But he had an article after saying yesterday he thinks the Patriots official dynasty is over kind of quick articles saying with the pages 12 and five on Sunday after lost the Bills.
Dotson and filtering out from experts across the NFL.
But the New England's multi decade dynasty might be over R B.
The most definite take came from ESPN's dental office.
To get a former University of Connecticut quarterback who played from the NFL from 2005 to 2017.
Had assessment during a Monday episode of NFL Live is that the dynasty is over.
It really ended on March 17 when Tom Brady left.
They were very poor drafting football team and I will not disagree with that.
The Patriots have really botched the NFL draft for years and the reason why they have not to really worry about it is because they kind of had very to bail amount now if Brady not being there anymore.
They puts a lot more pressure on different positions for drafting.
Well, um, and it's kind of been tough with some guys that had high expectations, whether it's the 1st 2nd draft, they've either had injuries or did they just haven't lived up to the expectations that we've seen? Um, now you're looking at other teams.
For instance, D. K. Metcalf.
A guy that took took has been killing it in the league with the great quarterback Russell Wilson, but obviously somewhere that the Patriots 10 you know, technically good ahead.
Another guy, Justin Jefferson Ross used Patriots took no receivers.
As I mentioned before.
They don't know receivers in a very high drafted, talented receiver class.
It's not just they had receivers in this past class, but they had talented guys left and right, um, that are making just crucial impacts.
And we're stuck with a gun to kill Harry, who was a good, decent possession type guy.
But we're expensing for him as a first round pick to give us a lot more than he's given us.
I'll tell you that much.
Uh, anyway, eso Olasky said.
The pages are very poor job to football team.
We know that the roster now is depleted, many mainly because of free agents that have left and poor drafting in some kind of a top.
That's some of these coming up about their free agents next year as well.
So you're gonna figure how they can resign them? Uh, look at the teams currents in our lives.
We found more fault Bill Belters roster ability than coaching.
They drive the poorly.
Uh, he's going back to 2013.
I think they drafted one really good player in the first round outside their when their left tackle.
They missed sound, a bunch of first rounders and second round, especially at skill positions.
So how do you rebuild an organization? But right now, struggling in the in the draft, Patriots haven't shown that they have been able to do that.
Beyond the Olasky also looked at how the Patriots to climb he can early in the 2020 season.
This is a team that last year wasn't very good, he said.
I know they won 12 and four, but they went on for against the best teams in the S C.
They've been in the last 16 games guys, the Patriots, their record six and 10.
They're six and 10 in the last 16 games.
So that just comes to show that this team is just that this team that used to be consistent for so long is just gonna be extremely inconsistent for years to comment.
But that shouldn't.
That shouldn't surprise a lot of people.
I know Bilbo checks one of the greats and all, and he is.
I take Bill in a heartbeat over any coach and very grateful.
He's my coach, gonna go down as one of the best ever.
Do it if it But it's obviously the guys on the field that he has to coach and obviously the sun belief of who we cannot out there and the fact that they're six and seven.
The last 16 games they played, a lot of good teams was you know what, that unfortunately, with that record.
But with that being said, there just so inconsistent now, so consistent.
Alaska is sending folks is John John, and it's not just like the quarterback.
Uh, I'll say I'm currently watching the US on the, um, the election.
So obviously bear with may, um, actually get through the rest of that, I'll be episode here tonight.
Uh, well, like you said, it's not like Cam Newton is playing about football.
We had a better player in there.
We would fix that.
This is going to take a couple of years.
Orlowski thinks that the Patriots kind of getting back to where they were before.
I mean, it's obviously it's not gonna be the 20 year dominance that this team has ever had, but a relatively good, competitive type football team.
Alas, she doesn't think that's gonna happen for many years.
I disagree on that part.
I think the Patriots have a bunch of cap this off season.
See what they have at their quarterback.
First of all, evaluate that.
Evaluate the receiver position, evaluate a bunch of places where you can get talent.
And if you can do that, you could be right back where, you know, really good, you know, in the wild card, At least type team that could be really good over any type of team.
A tely sta good, really good, fundamental roster that's obviously unfortunate on the Patriots were just so beat up.
I just have a lot of guys playing traditions that they shouldn't be playing or out of position.
There's a lot of injuries, so, and that is what it is.
Uh, so it's kind of waste.
What kind of pills? But saying all this week is, you know, I know I haven't 10 of his being on his terms What he's thinking, he's thinking, Yes, I know.
I probably haven't been drafting.
Well, uh, you know, I had a great quarterback in time for so long that I worked with and you know, those one of those guys that, you know, he thinks that he could make threat out of anybody and some of the guys.
Some of the guys he definitely can.
But obviously other guys that you just see what their talent is on other teams that Bill could have taken.
And it's just like, yeah, I just don't understand why I just couldn't take them.
But, uh uh, eso We talked about Patriots trade rumors and trade stuff happening that was official today.
So this morning, Dinerstein ESPN reported after speaking with a few GM's around the NFL, I've learned multiple teams who have called the Patriots about cornerback, defensive player of the year Stefan Gilman Rhodes told by New England that they wanted a first round pick and a player in exchange the 2019 AP defensive Player of the Year.
So Gilmore, as you guys have known or not, has been rumored for a while.
Uh, from the Patriots tends to move on that their house was put on the market.
Stuff like that s supposed to be put on by the end of today, I think.
But there was a report after four PM that they didn't care.
They don't they does that hold them on? Um, my bold prediction eyes that they're gonna move on from two guys.
I think Stefan Bill Maher is going to be moved in the off season.
I think they like what they have.
The cornerback position. They're fortunate.
The Patriots, they're still they're still pretty good in their secondary.
I mean, losing Gilmore, you lose a lot of different personnel.
Pact is, you know, the plan, man to man.
That's kind of their strength.
And obviously Gilly is a really good man to man type corner.
Probably it's not one of the best.
He's obviously kind of regressed this year, but still had a decent year.
Um, but I think that if you can trade in this off season to a team, you've got a really good premier type player.
Uh, and a draft pick.
High draft picking in the twos.
I do it, um, and then Joe, to me, they were listing the emergence of Michael.
Will we know who they drafted from Michigan this year? Uh, I know is able to play multiple positions, But Tooni Tooni has been able to two news obviously playing in this franchise tag year this year that there was a fridge.
And last year they decided to keep him.
Uh, they had a members of him potentially moving on before.
I think he is going to be moving on this year in this off season so I wouldn't rule out Gilmore and to me to go in the sausage.
But as of right now, both are still with the team.
Um, could a TV t Jimmy Garoppolo, a za officially out for several weeks doing an injury, and obviously he's been proven to be injury prone, But obviously, this is a car that that the Niners have to see what their future is? Yeah.
The patriots obviously want to kind of see, but there, Q B situation is likely enough, I think.
Cameras going to be staying for one more year.
Uh, what? The free agency? Uh, tag, uh, I'll be playing with consular toe.
What? I think he's gonna be what Tooni has right now.
Um, but it is kind of interesting because I haven't really liked what they've given us.
Stood on judge to them.
They're back up.
Hey, was actually supposed to be Tom.
Very successor, man.
Remember that talk? Remember all that talk about Jared system stuff like that, You know, he had potential really good potential in auburn.
Uh, he, you know, that patriot decide to take him.
Bill has been saying he's done some good things, but, I mean, he's been turn it over like crazy ever since he's been in.
Uh, you know, he had one really good touchdown throw to Harry for in the Kansas City game.
But, I mean, there's this stuff that potentially for another team that might be able to give them some start experience.
But I think that the Patriots are obviously a team that air when now I just don't know if the soft season they really want to trust, sit them to kinda be that window type quarterback when you still have some guys this offseason, the Cuban position that you could go up in their free things potentially work at the trade.
But Jimmy Jews, a guard that I think the Patriots can still find a way to take a look at Steve John, who is a long term 49 or things that Jimmy G might be on the move.
And I thank you for the Patriots.
Despite his injury problems, Eugene knows the system.
He obviously played all of it when Tom Brady was suspended dio to flick it.
So they Jimmy G is also a guy that throws the football quickly.
And obviously, Cam, as much as we like to see what Cam has in terms of his throwing motion, is mechanics.
He tends to throw it out a little bit slower, uh, and longer takes them longer to kind of find the reeds.
Jimmy G is kind of a guy that, you know, step back through, and it's just something that the Patriots want to take a look at that potentially is an option.
Um, succeed on said this, he said, Can we get back to a place of Kyle Shanahan? This innovative offensive corner with the best head coaches in the league can find a quarterback that he can trust and be expensive with rather than protect Hall of Famer Steve Johnson.
I think that's been the issue with Jimmy, and I think that the $25 million and a shrinking salary Capitals injury I just don't know how Jimmy ends up being the quarterback for the Niners next year.
It's about the relationship between Colin, Jimmy, and that's what fires they create, a system that Jimmy could be successful in.
But it's not the system that Kyle Shanahan did wants to run, UH, two guys for the Niners.
I could really see them taking a look at if they move on from Jimmy the soft season.
I think it's a really, uh uh name that they should definitely take longer because him and Shanahan were obviously connected with each other for the Falcons and then Kirk cousins.
I think it be a name that denies could take a look at as well.
William, A Guinness, obviously a, um, Patriot Hall of Famer.
He right, I Let's say he said, a dream scenario on that Waas to get Michael Thomas through the Patriots.
Now, do you think that's gonna happen? No, I don't think it's gonna happen.
Um, but the pages had a little dim. It's Super Bowl inspiration.
The season, perhaps deal for Tom's or something.
They kicked the tires on the three.
Some Pro Bowl selection has a base salary of one million.
Uh, this season, Memorial lucrative years of his recent extension kicking in But considering all they likely would have to give it for Thomas.
Ah, move of this magnitude doesn't make a lot of sense of the two and five Patriots who appeared for rebuild now, Patriots, uh, they should definitely take a look at some talented receivers.
So this offseason, obviously take a look at what the quarterback situation is.
See what the market is there.
Also the market for a defensive tackle, because they obviously some need get some big buys and needs there and then linebackers as well.
Alright, So here are the latest on the Patriots who they acquire today, and they and the trade deadline this is obviously, like I said, a very quiet deadline, Um, for the team.
But the patriots, uh, making some nerves.
So that being said, um and the patriots also should take a look at a guy that they that the San Francisco 40 Niners way to, uh, you know, patriots need death bodies.
And I think that this guy could be somebody that could give him the death piece that might be able to fit or not.
My not well, I have to say eso the Patriots and the rare trade division trade the Miami Dolphins traded Isaiah Ford to the to the New England Patriots.
Um, the return Waas Let me take a look.
Uh, there's four conditional sixth round pick for 2022.
I think this is a decent move for the Patriots for a position that they're locking right now for just step pieces forward.
Um, he's from mhm Virginia Tech.
He actually had a big game last year at New England, and that's why I think they just try to take a look at him as as a piece.
He's 6 ft 2 £200 7th round pick, 27 2017 He has 18 catches for 184 yards this season.
*******, though it's obviously somebody that they could take a look at.
Kim obviously loves big bodies.
This will be a big body help off for this team.
We would think Onda Pages also acquired a defensive tackle on do this.
This is Isaiah Mac claim from the tides of pages claimed on waivers for a spot on their 53 man roster.
Because Join Gentleman is place in the I R.
That sets up to open free roster spots on the roster.
So they decided to claim a defensive tackle.
Patriots got to Isaiah's, uh, this deadline, and also they have a couple of other Isaiah's on the Patriots team between Isaiah Zuber, receiver to now to Isaiah's at receiver as a four now Isaiah Zuber.
I want a left tackle on the obviously claimed this guy Isaiah Mac for a spot.
Max is 61 299 pounder.
Enter the NFL Underactive free agents.
Underactive free agent out of Tennessee Chattanooga played 19 games over the last few seasons has experienced was available for big need at defensive tackle So obviously we'll have to see about that.
Um, and then the Patriots.
We'll see if they take a flyer on couple guys that have been released on, then.
This guy right here. Dante Pettis.
$40 with a second round draft pick trying to find a trade partner. They failed.
Um, but this was a guy that there's air very high on when they drafted him.
He didn't turn out to be that way.
Um, you know, they have also a lot of pieces that are just a lot better.
Deebo, Samuel, Britain.
I you who was a great guy that they drafted for the offense.
And then obviously you have kittel moster, but a lot of those guys that are banged up, which is very unfortunate for that team, but Pettus was kind of a guy outside looking in.
Didn't really get a lot of playing time and just kind of wasn't all there with that team for a while.
So they caught him.
E think the patriots obviously should give him a fit.
You should give him a try as a flyer.
Um, you know, obviously you don't want, you know, break the bank for a guy that you just don't know anything about.
But obviously, for a guy like Pettus, I think that you should You should give him a flyer just given the death on the thin death of the Patriots have right now at that position.
So that being said, I think we're gonna add a little bit early tonight.
I think that will be it for Tuesday night Patriots before I'll get the headlines.
I guess that Brady 1 20 quickbooks bray talk here Hope, but those aren't aware yet.
Ready is bringing back an old friend.
So he says it wide receiver Antonio Brown.
For those that probably aware by now he now officially on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we'll see how long that old bell.
But if you can last, you could send the field.
The Bucks are getting a good one.
That guy that used to be one of the best receivers in the league, um, they will stay on the field with Pittsburgh.
Obviously, that killer trio, the killer bees.
As I said, obviously playing them a lot and see them playing persons.
Here's a Pats fan, really awesome to watch, but two guys, they're trying to kind of Get back themselves.
Living on Bell's obviously now playing Kansas City Onda.
Then Antonio Bram is in Tampa Bay reuniting with Tom Brady.
Probably scored 25 23 bucks.
They're now six and two.
Brady has another decent day.
Ah, in terms of the game, he did get sacked twice, but 81 q b r.
Right? It was not too bad.
28 of 40 on the night.
This was not tonight, some point yards past and two touchdowns on the other side of Giants, Daniel Jones had a decent day, but he did those two picks that were crucial.
He made a really good pass, so at the end to Golden Tate for a touchdown.
And then it came down to a two point play that a lot of people were talking about last night.
It's kind of a flat pattern that was gonna be headed to Dion Lewis.
There's a flag that was called what does in down the 10 minute Buccaneers.
The rest came together and they didn't.
They picked the flag up.
They didn't decide Thio keep it there to give the potentially Johnson another try at the two pointer so that being said, um, it was incomplete.
That's super play.
Nice play by Antoine Winfield, who was a drop there from the box this year.
And then, um then went, pronounce psychic bucks, got it and then bring it.
Just didn't feel it.
And that's that Next next Sunday night, the Brady Brees part to come Sunday Night Football.
I'm looking forward to that game on.
Obviously, nothing about brilliant breeze right now is sorry about that.
Um, is there been battling for all time passing yards? There's obviously been great and going back and back and forth about that.
So thank you guys for joining me tonight on Tuesday Night Patriots Episode 29 of Segment Part.
And like I said, there was a bunch of headlines I want to get into.
A lot of stuff in the NFL won't get into everything because I want to save some of it for Thursday Night Sports Madness.
Lots of latest stuff with Cova 19 and the NFL, as as typical now, lots of players that have been dealt with it, But again, the song Koven news Before then, there is some news the Times are planning to release their outside linebacker Vic Beasley.
Um, according to Adam Schefter, the Packers were trying to get Will Fuller from the Texans.
They couldn't find a train at the end of it there.
If you're a Packer fan out there, you're probably very upset.
Even Fuller put out a tweet kind of during the free.
Uh, if I'll trade deadline, uh, processing your kind of having that, you know, thinking one kind of terms of factors anybody take me on.
Then Brennan cooks Randall Cobb.
Other guys were kind of in swirled in rumors Fuller Cobb cooks and stills all stand pat with attacking.
I do personally think that they're probably going to get moved at some point.
Um, probably this offseason, if anything, because there's a lot of teams that I think I don't want some of those guys.
Um, yes, the bucks officially acquired on towing a brown, they did wave wide receiver surreal Grayson eso That's like that's another guy through the path to take a look at because they're just they just really need to take a look at.
There's anybody at this point.
Coleman will be out this week with the knee injury, precaution and Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle be placed on IR Uh, there's Aaron said about Antonio Brown's role on Sunday.
He'll have his role.
It could be 10 plays or 35 plays.
I wanted to anticipate 60 place, Mr, but we'll see how it goes.
Evans Place offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley Entire E.
Phillips on our, uh, the NFL's expanding bench areas to tighten the mask rules to kind of spread stuff out, too.
Avoid quotes, contacts, which have been, Yeah, tough thing right now on this league.
The bill sign Darrelle Wally to the part of squad and released the Fed.
Um, Andy Dalton.
It's gonna be out for the second straight game, not because of injury, which he had last game, but because he's placed on the reserve cova 19 list.
Um, so it's gonna be using me out for that game on.
Then Luke Wilson from Sao is going to be getting released from the Seahawks.
Uh, the NFL NFLPA club facilities were closed today due to Election Day.
Um, and the NFL, and I'll talk a lot about this.
I'm on Thursdays.
Well, the NFL was expecting to have potentially if there's more games canceled to have a more expanded playoff format.
So I'll talk about that as well.
And also talk about some guys that I could say today that are on the covert list.
Marlon Humphrey and A.
Dillan are examples of some uh, all right, uh, baseball stuff, Rob Manfred said that they might explore, and I don't like this idea by any means, but they might explore doing the, um, neutral site, which they did this year due to cover 19.
They did a neutral site bubble, but to kind of with the way that went this year, to kind of do a neutral site world stairs for many years to come.
I don't like it.
I really like the home field advantage.
I think it does make a difference and put into play for the league.
But there was a rumor out there about that.
En ba from Jean Charney.
A couple things.
I want to get everything because I want to say stuff for Earth, um, Thursday, like I mentioned.
But the biggest thing is the sources from an hour ago, the MBA and MBA PR negotiating clerics Escarra three year withholding period, the league design a 25% and a P A proposing a 15%.
They're also talking on Thursday, so find out by Thursday NFL NBA P A will vote as soon about the proposal.
2nd off, MBA MBA 72 Game season.
All players is that Christmas week is inevitable, Which means more likely than not, they are expecting that to happen.
All right, well, almost to the hour mark here amongst the top of the hour.
Kind of started around 5.
So, yeah, we're almost to the end here.
Thank you guys, for joining me tonight.
Really appreciate it. Obviously.
Another great episode we had here tonight on tap, as I mentioned, enjoy the election coverage going on.

Now we're going into week nine.
NFL season Packers and Niners.
And then I'll recap the week Eight games from top to bottom.
So I was getting into and say stuff.
MLB stuff, MBA stuff.
