you know, make a good play, turn around and make a bad play.
Um, at some point, he's just got to learn You don't make certain place mhm wide open down the field, wide open down the field.
And you know, when you're playing Tom Brady, you gotta capitalize on all of those things, right? You gotta capitalize on everything when you're playing against Tom Brady because, you know, at yeah, come back just right because, you know, you just got to capitalize on those type of place there is slated wide open down the field that those interception on the other side of the field.
I mean, you gotta capitalize on everything because, you know, eventually And to be honest with you, Tampa Bay never turned it on.
Tom Brady never turned it on tonight because the Giants defense played very well even on the touchdown plays.
Right? When when Tampa Bay score touchdowns.
It's not like it was some crazy When Gronk scored a touchdown, the ball was tipped, floated into his hands.
Right when Mike Evans scored a touchdown, you know, I had to be over the shoulder to the back of the end zone catch.
You know what I'm saying? Because perfect.
Because the defense was playing well.
The defense played very, very well tonight.
Yeah, on the offensive side, of course you know you know what it is on the offensive side of the ball.
Danny Jones just so so many mistakes.
And even even after he scored after he throws the touchdown to golden tape.
And I do believe that you know that last play was a pass interference.
But if he throws the ball in the right spot, it doesn't matter, right? If he throws the ball in the right spot, it's a two point conversion.
The game, well, maybe goes in overtime.
Tampa Bay able to get the ball back, you know, in 28 seconds left or whatever it waas.
But you can't Daniel Jones.
Daniel Jones didn't have to even make a perfect throw, right.
All you have to do is just get the ball out on time and the receiver could adjusted.
But since he threw the ball late, which gave the defendant time to get there and gave the defendant time to get his arm in there early, even if you could say it was a pass interference either way, you know, I'm saying, but if he gets the ball out early enough, none of that matters.
You know what I'm saying? You don't have to throw a perfect pass there.
You just have to make a good throw, E.
I mean, it is not even there.
Winfield is not even in the play, but they late gave him kind of recover, though.
People are gonna get people gonna go crazy, and they're gonna say, Get rid of Daniel Jones and all of that kind of stuff.
But I think the kid has a lot of talent and he has a lot of ability.
It's the decision making, right? I can live with it in year two.
If he's doing this by next year.
Now you've got to start thinking, you know, it's not gonna work, you know, if he's doing the same things about a year to, you know, this year.
All right? You know, you still got these habits that you got a break, right? You know, when Jason Garrett he's doing a good job play calling.
Yeah, that z Nice play, nice friend.
He's doing a good job play calling the The players just gotta make it happen.
They gotta make it happen.
Of course, I got a text from Isaiah who's not here supposed to be here, but he's not here, you know? Saying Daniel Jones is not the guy.
It doesn't matter.
Whoever makes the mistake, he wants to get rid of him.
You know, I'm saying whoever makes a mistake, he wants to get rid of them.
But that's classic.
That's classic New York plan.
Don't know if you make a mistake.
You out of here? That's what it is with with every sportsman.
They don't have patience with anybody.
That look in his second year.
You know, Eli Manning? It wasn't a Super Bowl caliber quarterback in his second year.
You know, man made some of those same mistakes, some of them even worse.
Um, e I mean, listen, the Giants did a good job handling the line of scrimmage.
I'm not gonna say they control the line of scrimmage, but they did a good job handling the line of scrimmage, especially on the offensive side, right? I mean, you got in Dominican, Sue, you got Jason pr.
Uh, you know Pierre Paul, right? You got to, you know, you got a strong pass rushing team and they did a good job holding down that line of scrimmage.
And then downfield, downfield.
I mean, there were guys.
I mean, he he overthrew Sterling Shepard, right? He missed Darius late in a couple of times.
Might have overthrown Ingram once, right? You know, it's tough, you know? He's tough, man.
He had he threw for 256 yards.
He had two touchdowns to passing touchdowns, two interceptions.
He didn't use his feet that much tonight.
Three carries for 20 yards.
That's another thing.
There's sometimes when I think he needs Thio commit a little bit earlier to that run.
Sometimes just say, you know what? It's not there, but I see I got I c.
I could pick up these nine yards, let me go ahead and commit to it.
You know, he runs out and he's still looking.
He's still looking, he's still looking, and then I think he commits a little bit too late.
Sometimes he does a lot of things too late because he's looking and looking and looking and not sure a lot of So there's so many things that are that he does that are that goes against what you want a quarterback to do.
You know, he throws back across the field.
I hate when he does that.
Mhm right when he gets in trouble, you know? And instead of sometimes going down, he's still trying to hang on and look for somebody or something.
Toe happen and obviously throws interceptions.
Sometimes, you know, sometimes he starts to drop back and fade back instead of going forward.
I know you know.
You got your one step two step, three step, you know, five step drop, whatever it is.
But sometimes, you know, he's in the pocket, in the pocket, and the next thing you know, I mean, he almost ran right into a sack tonight by dropping back.
11 when he threw the ball to Slate and the one slave saved them Exactly.
You almost ran into the defensive end, you know? But the thing I the thing I would advise Daniel Jones to do and and Giants fans you probably don't want to hear, this is man.
Listen on those second down and tens or second down and sevens and your receivers not open, man.
Throw the football away.
Just get out of pocket.
Throwing away a t least his third and seven.
At least you'll still have the football.
You know, I'm saying, Did you have a chance? You know, I'm saying if you take the scent and I was, like, 13 15 or if you throw interception, the other team has the ball, man, just you have to have that mental clock as a quarterback.
You know what I'm saying? Everybody's gonna be Aaron Rodgers.
You know what I'm saying? You have to be Daniel Jones.
You know, it's not just so that football away, man E.
You get a manager, but you have to be able to manage the game.
You gotta keep it to your team in the game and stop when trying to wedge those all into Evan Ingram.
If Evan Ingram is not open, go somewhere else because he grew up every Ingram tonight that number 54 should have picked off.
I mean, he was trailing Evan Ingram hadn't had him beat, but he threw the football so far behind Evan Ingram that the linebacker could have picked it off e mean he's gotta learn.
He's gonna learn one day.
Hopefully, he's gonna learn one day.
I think he's got a lot of talent.
He's gotta learn.
Symbolizing hasn't made a good point.
Playing for Duke is maybe hurting him because he had to make every single play at Duke, right? He had to make so many plays that, you know, it's now a habit for him.
But he's gonna have toe.
He's gonna have to make some changes, man.
He's gonna have to make some changes.
Hopefully, Jason Garrett could get to him.
But look, I know the moral victories.
You know, people don't want to hear anything about moral victories, and neither do I wanna win games.
I wanna win games.
But you know, I was talking to get him on the other night on the show and he was like, It's not even gonna be close.
Yeah, because I told him.
I told him I said, Listen, when I come, I was like, You know, I'm hoping that the Giants can maybe when, but at least be close and play a competitive game.
He's, uh such a loser's mentality uh, you know, you're laughing into play a competitive game.
I'm like, yeah, laughing into play a competitive game.
They're not supposed to win this game.
You know? What I'm saying is the best team in the NFC is probably play competitive game. Be competitive.
They had a chance to win.
They had the lead in the fourth quarter, you know, he was like, Oh, the Jets and the Giants both gonna get smacked like, Okay, they had a lead in the fourth quarter.
They had a chance to tie the game with 28 seconds left.
They gotta find a way to t.
They gotta find a way to make the right decisions So many times when when they had the chance toe win a game, they blow it.
Last week against Philly, they had a chance to put the game away.
Evan Ingram drops to pass off the tip of his fingers this week.
They're up 17 to 15.
They have a chance.
They have a chance even if they go up 22 15.
But if they score a touchdown, right, they go up 24 to 15.
They have a chance there, Right there it, I think What? What would a 35 30 30 yard line or something like that? You know, a couple of you know, 10 yards away from being in the red zone and we throw a pick, changes the game, changes the game because you're right there on the cusp of being able to put these guys.
I don't I'm not gonna say put him away, but create some distance between you and then right, because a game differently.
Because if it's a game or a touchdown game, then you can do different things on defense that you can't that you would normally do in a close, You know what I mean? S So instead of playing, you know, aggressive man, a man in a close game, you could play zone and have the other team methodically marched down the field.
If they're going to score right, the whole you risk and given up a touchdown on one player.
So and then when you have the ball, you can run the football more and road trip is and things like that, you know what I mean? But with quarterbacks and and the unfortunate thing, the unfortunate thing is, is that you also have, ah, young offensive line at the same time.
So those things that you have to manage the game differently, you have to simplify the game plan because I think there is like a young guard and a young well, when they started two rookies tonight, starting to rookies on the line tonight on, they did a phenomenal job.
I think the offensive line did a great job tonight.
It may not show up in the running game, right? The Giants Wayne Goldman ran for 44 yards.
Alfred Morris, who I like to pick up of Alfred Morris.
I think that he is a crafty veteran.
He just, you know, he's a work course who just knows how to get the job done.
He's not gonna while you with any, you know, break out.
You know, huge breakout plays unless the whole is just wide open.
But, you know, he just understands how to get it done.
He's a he's not gonna message a right and it could block and he could block.
You know, I like I like Alfred Morris.
He you know, three kids for 20 yards.
Evan Ingram Hey, had one care for nine yards and receiving stolen Shepherd at 74 yards tonight having Ingram five receptions for 61 yards.
He needs to get more targets.
I think e I don't know what the number of targets was for him.
So he probably did lead the team in targets.
Let me not say that I'm not looking at all of the stats.
Or is it the number one guy? It's gotta be Darius Layton.
And I think Darius Layton right now is who Daniel Jones is most comfortable with is Well, okay, so e hey makes place.
He could make place.
Um, but I think Darius Satan has got to be considered the number one guy.
Andi, He's doing some work he's making.
I like what I see from a man.
Daniel Jones has to get accurate.
Just got a point.
What'd you say? How do you think the defense played tonight? I thought the defense played good tonight.
I thought they played very good tonight, you know? You know, there were a couple of listen from the beginning from the beginning of the game.
I was a little bit nervous because, you know, they Tampa Bay ran up the field.
You know, saying easy pop, pop, pop, pop, pop up the field.
But then they held him to a field goal on.
Then after that, you know, the defense really tightened up.
So I felt I felt good about the defense tonight that, um what surprised me is that the Giants didn't books much budding grand, that eight man coverage and made Tom Brady basically methodically take the until after the first drive.
Now, that made Tom Brady take them down the field.
And you can see Tom Brady's frustration going back to the sidelines way against this team.
Right? You know? So I think the game plan was pretty in black market.
Those pops he was putting on limit for Net were legit.
E some somebody, you know, pass interference plays against the Giants and that did not get called for the Giants, you know, upset me the one play on Bradbury.
I thought Mike Evans basically pulled him down on that play against Bradbury.
I'm like, Come on, what do you want him to do? because you turned around.
But it looks like it looks like Evans initiated the contact.
I think the thing that sold it was Bradbury had his arm around.
Evans is back after he got after Mike Evans ran into him, right? But But But the thing is, if you look at the replay, Mike Bradbury had his arms open, his shoulder was touching his back, but his arms were wide open.
So he didn't He never wrapped his arm around him, you know, like this, you know? And I mean, Evans basically jumped on his back and pulled him down is like like, what was that, right? I mean, what do you want? And of course, that play that was the third downplay which led to, you know, first down, If I mean, if you exactly leads to a touchdown, you know, I'm saying and if that play does not happen there, Giants get the ball back, the giants get the ball back with.
Well, I guess, I guess.
What was it? 20.
Well, I think it was 22 to 17.
Maybe it didn't lead to a touchdown.
I think it led to a field goal to make it 25 17 and then I don't know.
I'm not sure I have to go back and look.
But either way, let's just let the points.
Yeah, lead two points.
I think it made it 20.
I think it led to it being 25 to 17 where if it was 22 to 17 and Giants come if they come back down to score Studio 17 15 17 59 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Giants lead the OH way, and they understand the point.
It extended driving, right? Exactly, exactly.
And then, of course, of course, the last play of the game, they throw the flag on the two point conversion.
I know that Daniel Jones should have got the ball out earlier.
I know, and he could have thrown it in a better spot.
But still, what's his name? Winfield E feel like he made contact with Louis before the ball got there.
Make contact with him before the ball got there.
I still believe that e you don't have.
You don't even have to make a perfect pass, right? You just gotta get the ball out, E.
He's got to get it out.
He's got to get it out.
But I feel like that was a pass interference.
Uh, I guess, you know, because we didn't have time out stuff, we couldn't challenge the call, right? Or I don't even know if that call could have been challenged.
Whatever the rule is, e can't remember, but I think he may be able to challenge pass interference is.
But you know what, though? I mean, Jason Garrett called the great, called a great play, right.
And then and then and to the Giants offense, they executed that play like in a lot of cases.
Ah, lot of cases they get past and appearances for receivers causing picks.
And so the three receivers that were on that side ran their routes and they didn't get, you know, they didn't pick the man.
The only thing, though, is is Daniel Jones got that ball out late. That's it.
Yeah, but it's what you live and learn with that.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, it's a tough one, man.
It's a tough one.
Um, to the Giants next week.
Let's see how we play next week.
How do we play next week? Um, I'm not sure how we play next week.
I think we played Washington next week.
I think we played Washington next week There, then CM's try to find it now.
I mean, it's tough because this was appointed to schedule where? You know, e want, you know, obviously wanted to beat Philadelphia.
Figure we was gonna lose Thio Tampa Bay.
And then, you know, you got Washington, and then you got Philly again.
You know, there was a chance where you could really making, you know, do something in the NFC East.
There still is a chance, though, If you could find a way to pull off two wins against Washington and Philadelphia, you may be right back on right back in the thick of things in NFC East.
And really, really didn't look that impressive against you, either.
Really looked like they wanted to be a cat playing with a mouse, but the giants kept countering them.
I think they slept on the Giants, and they wanted being a little closer than what What really wanted it to be.
You know, I feel like Philly has better office personnel than the Chinese right now.
Just because they're seasoned a lot of those dudes that still remain in the Super Bowl team.
But the Giants are this, um, reps.
I think they just need reps together away from being a legit, off on defense defense is just, you know, a little game management away from probably being a top 10 defense.
Like, get off the field like not doing passing appearances and things like that. Get off.
So the so the giants play one o'clock, they play the Washington football team on Sunday.
15 they play the Philadelphia Eagles at Met life.
So if we can go toe Washington and get a win right here, these two games right here mean a lot.
You go to Washington and get a win.
You got two wins, right? The Redskins.
The Washington football team right now.
Uh, they're two and five.
I think they're two and five.
The Philadelphia Eagles there.
3341 So if you can go toe Washington and get a win, right, right, then the giants would be too and seven on.
And then if you could go to Philly and get a win, then the Giants would be three and seven, right? And then you gotta buy.
Okay, if you could do that, you know, that means you split with the Eagles.
You swept Washington, and then you got one more game against Dallas.
You could put yourself right in the mix toe.
Win the NFC East because you have three wins.
Philia have three wins.
You have more wins in Washington, and I think you'll have depending on what happens with Dallas during that time.
You know, you could be tired or have more Winston Dallas thes two games right here.
These two games right here are very, very important for the Giants, right? Right.
Very, very important.
And then, Plus, the Giants need love in the division to they need Philly to lose some games against other division opponents or whoever they need.
Washington lose some games, too, because And to be honest with you, the Redskins are having some of the same issues y'all having? No, no, it's It's no one of those deals.
Where, where? You know, I don't see Washington winning out in their schedule. Libya.
So then Billy a bunch of injuries.
So if the if the Giants can drew up the small things like Daniel Jones putting that ball on targets on time, um, valuing kill position.
Daniel Jones when it's when it's third and when it's second and seven football.
If you don't have anything, you don't want 30.
You don't want interceptions, right? I mean, it's just small game management stuff that drives veteran coaches crazy.
But quarterbacks have to learn that, though.
Yep, So look right now looking at the looking at the standings.
Philadelphia 341 Washington 2 to 5.
Cowboys two and six.
The Giants of one in seven.
If they could beat Washington, you climb up a little bit.
Then you beat Philadelphia.
You give yourself three wins.
Who knows what happens with Philadelphia next week? Maybe they and I'll check their schedule.
Maybe they lose or, you know, whatever happens, you know.
But you could put yourself right in the mix of things with one more division game left, which is the last game of the season.
First of Cowboys.
The whole thing is if they make the playoffs, you know, and they make the playoffs at a you know, six and 10 or something crazy.
You know, it's kind of like you do that, you know? Yeah.
How much do you celebrate that? There's six and 10 team, but, you know, you celebrate.
Would you celebrate? You make the playoffs, Everybody e I get it. I don't know.
Yeah, just you just gotta get in there.
You know what I'm saying? And then plus plus to the NFC Central plays the NFC East.
So then that's the reason why the Giants played the Bears earlier.
So y'all have Green Bay, divine things and other teams on your schedule, right? And so does that.
If I'm correct, if I'm correct, that means don't that means the Eagles and don't have to play that same schedule, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They had to play the same to Schedule s Oh, yeah.
So in week nine, the Eagles have a bye which can actually help the Giants.
Because they played.
They played the watching the football team while the Eagles ever by.
And then they come back and they play the Eagles.
So you can you know, you can leave out of the Eagles game if you can win both of them.
The Eagles to be three or five while you're three and seven.
If you could win both of those games and the Eagles have a tie, right? So you could put yourself in good position and then cowboys.
Let's see who they play over that same time, period.
Cowboys play mhm.
See, they play the Steelers and they play the Vikings, right? They play the Steelers on 11 8.
They gotta buy the next weekend, and then they play the Vikings.
The Cowboys done.
Yeah, they cowboys eso the Giants can have a chance if they can.
You know this? Well, you know, the Vikings aren't that good, but, you know, they play the Steelers, right, baby screen, baby.
Yeah, that's true.
When they had a they were hammering.
They were hammering.
Unpack of to We'll see.
You know, e guess we'll see what happens there, man.
The giants take another tough loss.
Uh, another tough loss before we before we jump about here, I do wanna talk about the nets real quick.
What do you think about this? Uh, you know that the reunion of the Phoenix Suns on the Nets coaching staff um so I like the D'Antoni higher for Steve Nash.
His career right? How that impacts Brooklyn this year? I'm not for sure because they have two superstars and and the coach.
The impact on the coaching impact on superstars is more managing eagles managing minutes and things like that, as opposed to things on the floor for cats like a B and Kyrie.
What it does for the rest of the roster.
I'm not for sure.
Who's gonna be there in Brooklyn.
I'm not for sure.
I'm trying to trade for a third star or not, but I do like the fact that they bought in Mari Stoudemire and Mike D'Antoni.
Um um, two cats that have been successful at what they did in the N B A.
Um, does that get Brooklyn over the hump? I'm not for sure.
I think it definitely gets them into the talk of, um, being a really good playoff team.
So I think there probably a top 14 atop 14 in the in the east. Definitely.
Um, you know what it means Long term, um, isn't a deal where the Nets just wanted to make sure that they have somebody on staff.
Just in case of Steve Nash. Thing didn't work out.
Is it more of Ah, Steve Nash needing a confident toe? Help now toe.
Help him navigate.
You know his first season in the NBA probably isn't it.
E think that's the whole thing with Mike D'Antoni.
Annemari start admiring.
You know it's having some guys there that he knows some guys that he's familiar with.
And if they plan on trying to create, you know, some of the magic that Steve and Omari had with Kyrie and Kevin Durant.
You know, obviously it's gonna be different because Amara was basically a pick and roll forward, pick and roll power forward.
You know, he wasn't handling the ball, really creating his own shot.
It's pretty much, you know, we're gonna run a pick and roll, maybe hit him in the post every once in a while, you know? Then let him dunk on somebody off of Steve.
Steve Nash finding him, you know? But if they're trying Thio, you know, maybe create a little bit of that magic between Carrie and K.
D By having Steven.
Ah, Marty There.
You know, we'll see.
I want to know how much.
How much are Steve Nash, Amar Steinmeier, K d and Kyrie gonna play 212 Mm A lot.
I could definitely see it happened.
Playing a little bit too onto, um are used to keep himself in pretty good shape.
Both of those guys keep themselves in pretty good shape.
Now, of course, they're not as young as, uh, Kyrie and K d.
But it would be some good competition for them to guys.
Yeah, you know, just, you know, play around in practice, have a good time.
Um, Mike D'Antoni, I think I think Mike D'Antoni is really there, like you said, for a confident with Steve Nash, but also ah, veteran coach that's been around.
He's never been to the championship, but he's been to the Western Conference Finals.
You know, he's played against stars.
He's been fired.
He's had great seasons.
He's had losing seasons, right? He's been through it. He's been through the gamut.
Besides going to the n b A finals.
He's been through it all, you know, and I think that and and he did some of that in New York and New York? Exactly.
He did some of it in New York, right? So I think I think it is good for Steve Nash.
Because not only is it a guy that you don't have to worry about, at least I don't think you know, they seem to have a good friendship.
So you probably don't have to worry about Mike D'Antoni going behind his back trying to get that head coaching job.
You know what I'm saying? Uh, you know, and Steve Nash will rely on Mike D'Antoni.
So Mike D'Antoni is gonna be doing a lot of coaching too, right? Right.
And then Tony was ready to get his own e.
I think he could have put in.
I think he could have offered up for the Oklahoma City job if he was ready, You know, because the city job is still still vacant, I think.
But he was ready to take on the job.
He could have, you know, at least threw his hat in the ring for that.
I think he I think, probably stepping back, You know, I'm saying, taking a deep breath and then maybe jumping out doing something else.
Um, next year is probably good for D'Antoni.
You know the thing? The Houston thing, I think burnt out.
So? Well, Frese, appreciate you for coming on. Then go.
You know, check out some more stuff of what? The postgame or reading in the chat that you know, Daniel Jones is putting the game on him and which he clearly should, because the game is on him.
