Connor, How are you, buddy? Good man.
What's going on? Just, you know, living the dream after a day of suicide chicken wings.
I, uh that I woke up this morning with a lot of gut rot. I was burning.
I'm gonna admit it.
I was absolutely burning.
Um, did OK in the bathroom key in the bathroom, but my guts, my guts were on fire this morning.
I think I drank too much milk last night too, so that didn't make me feel well.
I went to bed pretty much after you.
I apologize to you.
For those of you who don't know who are listening to the podcast because we're up on YouTube.
I got suckered into a bet on Friday, and I bet Rico from the RICO report over a football fanatics and Dan Mitchell that if the Patriots lost that, I would eat 20 suicide wings.
My boy Taison, who is a YouTube creators well, for the patriots over at master at work is also on the bed.
He's doing it Tuesday.
Show on football fanatics at 9:30 p.
Here, live on SportsCastr s O Connor and I did a breakdown of yesterday's game is I ate 22.
I don't think it was 18.
It was £2 of suicide chicken wings.
Uh, the hottest wings you could find.
And I think Connor, by the time we got to about halfway through, I wasn't paying attention to a word you're saying.
All e was sweating.
I couldn't pay attention.
I mean, do you and I usually just, like, nice long talk when it's all over? We talked about our days, You know, our feelings, all that kind of stuff.
You and I was just like I got to go.
I was concerned that I had to text you after and see if you were still alright.
Yeah, You, like, ran off? I just I just had to go.
It was absolutely awful.
Couldn't deal with it.
Um, on top of the patriots losing again, You had thio eat 18 hot wings.
The hottest of the hot.
The big shadow to our boy marry with hashtag sports we had it on Thursday.
He just texted me saying, L o l because you know how stupid I am is Well, I mean, that's what his dumb is making a bet.
You gotta get slammed through the table, right? You got sucker than big time.
Especially for somebody who had the feeling the Patriots weren't gonna win.
Yeah, that's the thing.
I picked the Patriots Thio, but I got brought on this show and it became, you know, Rico got combative, and I was forced to fight back and defend the Patriots.
And that's not me.
You know that? I'm, like, the worst trash talker in the world, but had to try to keep up.
And because of that, you know, in Dan's a nice guy.
And actually, I interviewed Dan today and we're gonna play that interview here just a couple minutes where he helped us break down the patriots game.
Um, but yeah, he does wings.
That sucked, man. It sucked.
Listen, I want to thank everybody who's here tuning in.

Um, I like having my was one of my favorite guests, so I wanted to try to somebody different.
Plus, Dan kind of owed me after eight. Those chicken wings.

How could you not love that? Here's the interview.
All right, everybody.
I'm joined by Dan Mitchell.
Many of you may have seen me eating suicide chicken wings last night, and that man is responsible for it because two guys made a bet.
For some reason, he felt like him.
And I should be in the bet, so thank you, Dan.
Hey, listen, honestly, it's really not my fault.
It was Tyson that ended up rapping you into it.
It wasn't may, it wasn't you.
He also threw me a $5 donation last night.
So we're good night.
Okay, Cool. Alright.
So that's like three wings.
Yeah, basically, Yeah.
Congratulations on the win.
yesterday s look, Patriot fans knew that yesterday's game was a must win to keep the Patriots season alive.
Buffalo is now about to run the gauntlet.
They have to face the Seattle Seahawks, the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 40 Niners in the Pittsburgh Steelers over the next six weeks.
How important was yesterday's game for Buffalo was massive, massive for the Buffalo Bills going into it like during our stream.
And during our initial conversation, I was saying, like, Listen like this game much for the Patriots, for the Bills as well.
This is an absolute must win, not only for divisional placement, but we absolutely needed to pull it off.
And let's put it this way.
We saw the cardiac bills on Sunday.
I was convinced that the Patriots were gonna march down the field and win when we only had 20 seconds left to go.
I mean, I was thrilled that we were finally able to slay the beast, but we kind of had Thio because, I mean, especially once you look at the Dolphin schedule which is coming up, that they have the Cardinals and then their next, like three or four opponents for the most part, not until you get right to like the last quarter of their season is relatively a cakewalk, and they're nipping at our heels right now.
So this was an absolute move of desperation for the Bills to pull this off.
It's a very different A F c East when we're talking about the Bills and the Dolphins fighting out for first place and the Bills holding off the Dolphins and the Patriots is falling backwards.
But I want to talk about this.
The Bills finally got the run game going yesterday, and we talked a little bit about this on your show on Friday.
Zach Moss had an absolutely fantastic game, handled a lot of that dirty, where he made the Patriots linebacker Juwan Bentley look foolish at times out on the field.
Do you think this is an element of the game that Buffalo can build on? Or do you think that this was just representation of Buffalo running against a very weak run defense? And so, honestly, I'm really hoping for the former because last year when you look at 2000 and 19 that was basically our identity was being able to run the ball now I definitely understand that the paths have had struggle stopping the run right in the past, but But I mean, we couldn't run the ball against the Tennessee Titans, who are also not very good at stopping the run we went up against.
You know, some of the bottoms here run defenses in the NFL so far this year, and we could not do a **** thing, really.
When it comes down to the common denominator, it had to go with our big right guard, John Feliciano, and a lot of Bills.
Fans didn't realize how integral he was to our offensive line of being able to open up those run gaps.
Um, I mean, we just ended up seeing beautiful, beautiful lanes opened up the entire game, and in my opinion, that was the missing ingredient.
That and I mean, I absolutely love seeing him drag Zach Moss five yards right into the end zone like that one run by itself.
But I think Feliciano was the missing ingredient, and I'm really hoping that we can continue because like you said, man, I mean, we're gonna be going up against some pretty nice defense is coming up soon and I think the run game is super important.
Yeah, and the Feliciano move was huge.
And Mario from hashtag Sports actually told us out on Thursday night.
He said, That's the we talked about.
You know, John Brown coming back and he said, Yeah, that's huge But Feliciano's back, he says. And that's even bigger.
Um, and the fact that he transitioned to center very early into the game and yet you guys didn't miss a beat was phenomenal.
But look, one thing that caught my eye was when J.
Jackson picked off Josh Allen at the end of the first half.
And at first I thought that Allen had just overthrown Step er, Stefon Diggs.
And, honestly, that's been the knock on Josh Allen.
So it wasn't even something I really thought much about.
But then they started showing the sidelines and showed a conversation between gigs, and he was tapping his chest, and it obviously highlighted to me that he didn't run the right route or he stopped too soon.
Um, and then they were talking about how him and Josh Allen are still trying to get on the same page.
So I gotta ask you after seven games into the season.
Granted no preseason, no real training camp.
But are you a little bit concerned that Alan and Digs are still trying to figure each other out at this point? And so that's definitely an interesting question going into it, because going off of that one J. C.
Jackson interception going off of it like right at the end of the day, there was interviews conducted, and especially when you look back at the tape, that was just simply a misread on Stefon Diggs.
I mean, he was quoted in saying, Hey, listen, that was 100% on me like I mean, he just ended up running the wrong route, right? Um, one thing that I am concerned about not necessarily that they haven't gained the appropriate chemistry just yet.
I think they have it, but I'm always a little concerned.
When Josh Allen seems to be trying to force feeds to fund digs and say, for example, that John Brown is out or say, for example, that Cole Beasley is out knock on wood, then that's what Josh Allen tends to do.
He zeroes in on him because he's seen him make those contested catches, but unfortunately, they're called 50 50 balls for a reason.
So as Faras chemistry is concerned, I really like what they have put together so far.
I still think that there's room for improvement.
But as far as the concern of chemistry, not necessarily.
I am just nervous about Josh Allen trying to force it down his throat when he has several other options out there.
So basically giving him the DeAndre Hopkins treatment the way to Shawn Watson just forced the entire game through.
Hawkins, uh, listen, a win is a win.
I'm sure you're happy with the result.
Um, but even though the Bills were able to run the ball down the Patriots throat to me, the Bills offense never looked consistently sharp.
Um, they would at times just drive the field, and the Patriots had no answer.
And then it was a completely different offense.
The next play, Um, and then at the end of the game, it took a great individual play by a defender.
Um, you know, the Patriots were already in a position to tie the game on, drily, the way New England was moving the ball at that time.
I think they don't punch the football out.
The Patriots probably score, and and maybe we're having a different conversation today.
That's not what I'm not trying.
Toe Win's a win, But does that give you any concern when having to go up against some of these better teams that you're gonna face on? Ben? You know, assuming you in the A F C East and you're going into the playoffs, you're gonna be playing some of the best teams in the A F.
Does it give you concern that both offensively and defensively and I know that? I was listening to the RICO report last night and he was talking about animate Lee, talking about his concerns with the defense.
Does that inconsistent give you any concern? Yeah, so I mean, really, when it comes to both sides of the ball, the one thing that I'm most nervous about is hands down our defense, right? I mean, last year and the Buffalo Bills rode the back rate of that defense to a 10 and six record and this year I mean, we saw a small sample of what the Buffalo Bills offense can dio, but there's always been one commonality and the third quarter curses what I like to call it.
And it seemed to be sort of skipping around the all four quarters of the games as we have gone through right after our four No start going into it.
Um, I'm not necessarily sure whether or not that this is a play calling issue from Brian Table or whether or not that there was just a couple of pieces who, like we didn't really have right at our disposal.
Um, really, At the end of the day, when I look at this personnel and I think a lot of Bills fans concerns were justified because last year, dude, we were so spoiled with having a very healthy team.
I mean, there was very few scenarios where we had key players hurting nursing injuries and playing through those injuries.
And we're seeing that all across the board.
I mean, Edmonds, he's still nursing an injury.
Matt Milano was only out there for, like, 15 snaps, so I mean, once our defense gets healthy, say that they do say that we have like something along those lines, Then I have confidence that we'll be able to take that next step.
My only concern is is that we're gonna be battling injuries the entire season on both sides of the ball.
And unfortunately, we just don't have the depth that we thought we had initially.
So I mean, as far as my main concern.
But it it just has to do with the fact that we just cannot stay healthy and buffalo.
Okay, I'm gonna veer.
I know I said five questions to you, but I'm gonna ask you six because one is going in my head.
Um, last year, I was on a a f C East roundtable, very similar to what you do.
And at the end, you could talk about your roundtable, but I was on with the hashtag sports and a couple of Jets guys and dolls kinda can't remember their name.
Um, and I infuriated the table because I said that I believe since the draft that Josh Allen was poised to be the best quarterback in the A f C East.
At the time, I said, Sam, Donald is better because Josh Allen is less polished.
But after he polishes up, I believed that he was the next one after Brady.
That was gonna be his division.
I'm kind of a two part question number one.
I'm wondering if you as a Buffalo fan ever had that feeling about Josh Allen and be with two and now entering the division.
And unfortunately, with maybe I'm seeing a premonition of Justin Fields possibly joining the division next year and Trevor Lawrence possibly we could If the Patriots get that high pick, we could see them going after a Fields and the Jets going after a Trevor Lawrence put it using your crystal ball two years from now.
Where do you see kind of Josh Allen ranks amongst quarterbacks in the East? Yeah, and so I mean, this is definitely very difficult.
Thio sort of throw out a theory on this aspect because, like, really, when it comes down to it, like right before the draft, man, I mean, in all honesty, I really wanted Josh Rosen and like you could go back in my receipts and like, find that I'll thank God because I clearly don't know anything on.
But we ended up picking up Josh Allen and, um, definitely knew that he was going to be a raw prospect coming out of college.
But the one reason why I think that Josh Allen has progressed more so than a Sam Donald is largely due to the situation that he was put in, right.
Like his coaches, they drafted him and they weren't trying.
Thio sort of like make him not be Josh out and make him sort of live up to a different scheme that he wasn't used to.
They built around him and they wanted to go on ahead and see if that works out.
Now the jury is still out on to, uh, like will Brian Florida's.
Will he be able to go on ahead and continue Thio? Sort of like, make sure that he is an integral part right of that offense.
Build around him, get him playmakers that mesh well with him.
Or is he going thio for lack of a better term? **** the bed right? And sort of ruin him like Adam Cases ruined Donald.
So I mean, say that Lawrence gets there.
I'm a firm believer that Gates is not gonna be the coach of the Jets next year, but for some odd miracle that he is, and they do get Trevor Lawrence.
I'm not gonna be too concerned because we've seen what he does for an offense.
It's all about the culture.
It's really, really all about the culture, Um, second part of that question, as faras as faras Allen's continued progression.
And so, like I mean, like, you're like an ****ytics guy.
So I mean, like, you can understand that from 2000 and 18 to 2000 and 19 he took a leap so far this year 2019 to rate to this year.
By itself, he has taken yet another lead by itself.
Sure, there's still those inconsistencies.
They're still like those, like head scratching throws some decisions by itself.
But you're seeing him make more and more improvements with each and every single game that comes through.
So as far as making a prediction, I mean, I would like to think that Alan is going to continue to progress.
I would like to think that he's not quite near his ceiling, and I just think that say that he will not be a top quarterback right in the A F C East.
It's going toe have to dio with with the coaching that's great now.
I appreciate now I'm a big fan of Josh.
Allen had been a big fan of him since college, and I loved him coming out.
He was a guy that I hope dropped in the draft.
And the Patriots maybe take a flyer on him.
His Brady's replacement.
But the bills did what the bills did.
E I mean, it still hurts that you could have had Patrick Mahomes.
We traded away that pick.
But Josh Allen Good consolation.
Price s So what do you say that to like? I do want to address that, like, a little bit.
Like a lot of bills.
Fans say that all the **** time.
And I was just joking. Yeah.
But like, I mean, like, I always try telling those fans well, like, I mean, like, we ended up getting like one of the best corners in the league, too.
So I mean, what's your Davis White with that pick So and enlisting And the the Patriots selected Sony Michelle over Lamar Jackson.
And people always talk about how stupid it is.
And I always say, Well, Sony Michelle ran the Patriots to a Super Bowl in Lamar Jackson hasn't won a playoff game, so you know, right now, the Patriots are still winning that draft.
Final question for you.
I'm sorry I kept you a little longer than you expected.
That's cool, man.
Look, Cam Newton and Bill Belichick are taking a lot of heat for yesterday's loss, which could be expected.
But I also believed to that Patriots fans, they're not used to being in this position.
And, um, I think for some people, it feels like they just don't know how to handle it.
This is a little bit of a two part question, but from a Buffalo Bills fan perspective, what did you think of Cam Newton's performance yesterday? Keep it in mind that every receiver he had on the team was an undrafted free agent.
His top two receivers were out and his best receiver was an undrafted free agent number two.
Because our fan base is spoiled, they have put Bill Belichick on the hot seat, and it's time for him to go.
I'm not kidding.
Now, I know you have Sean McDermott, so this is all and you're happy then? So this is all hypothetical, but is a Buffalo Bills fan.
If you could get your hands on Bill Belichick.
Would you take him? I mean, who wouldn't? Right? And so I mean, like, who wouldn't like? I mean, he's honestly the best head coach in all of history.
Don't get me wrong.
I absolutely love Sean McDermott.
And I wouldn't be like, throwing him off to the curb for Bill Belichick.
Say that he was still, like making those progressions and still leading us to the playoffs.
I mean, say, for example, that he just had, like, two or three disgusting seasons in a row, and it was time to move on.
And we just have Bill over there being like, Hey, I'm ready to come in.
That's an absolute no brainer.
I mean, it blows my mind that Patriots fans are saying that it really, really does like and so like And so I always thought that Bills fans were, like, super irrational, like when it came for, like, these sort of these emotional takes, like being like go like and so that bad throw by Josh Allen.
Yeah, he threw for 69% and three touchdowns.
That bad throw, bro.
Dude, listen, man like we gotta start Barkley next game like it's absolutely dumb.
Um, as faras the performance that with Newton ended up playing like I mean, I didn't think that he played that bad.
I mean, honestly, like off course like besides that fumble, I mean, like, you definitely hold on the ball.
And so, like, I mean, I know that Josh Allen struggles with that to it could have been anybody, but I mean, he did what was best.
I mean, I really think that Bill Belichick did what he could.
I mean, he said it best, right? He said, Listen, we sold out, and I mean, like, we spent a lot of **** money so we could win you all three Super Bowls make one and go toe on a F C championship game.
So I mean, what else am I going to dio that and plus dude like And so the weather that game was absolutely atrocious.
I mean, there was, like, 30 40 mile an hour wind gusts.
I mean, I know that I'm pretty sure Alan Onley attempted 18 passes.
I think Cam Newton only attempted like, low twenties by itself.
I mean, I think Newton did exactly what he needed to do to have an opportunity to win that game.
And I just think a lot of it had to do with the fact that you guys were struggling, struggling from a, um sort of from like the personnel standpoint and then weather conditions as well.
So I mean, like, I'm not gonna say that Newton had a terrible game.
He just, you know, there there wasn't a lot in his favor.
Well, Dan, I appreciate you coming on the show.
Unfortunately, Conner couldn't join us, but he extends his thank you as well.
Before we let you go, why don't you let the Patriot fans here know where to find you guys? Just like Mario? This is a Bills fan that you want to follow.
He's, uh, he's a good guy.
****, Don't you let them know where they can find you? And so you guys can actually find me on YouTube? Just type in Dan Mitchell.
I normally put out about four or five videos per week.
Some of its NFL content.
I do in a F C East round table with the Patriots YouTuber, dolphins, jets, YouTuber on a regular basis is Well, so I mean, definitely.
And you don't need to be a Bills fan to watch me, but, you know, it sure helps.
Well, thank you so much for coming on the D. P. And commentary.
Yeah, man, for sure is a pleasure.
Okay, Take care.
A lot of good insight, man.
You want to know what I found funny is that he was saying the bills fans say the same type of crazy things the Patriots fans say.
Yeah, like they come up with these crazy emotional takes e got to.
I always think it's just us here in Boston.
And I wanted to get his opinion on Belichick and Newton because I mean Twitter.
Dude, I can't even go on Twitter anymore.
Like it's just I can't even do it. It just drives me nuts.
Alright, We're gonna take a little cause for the pause.

Alright, Connor, we're now at the point where we got the were a little bit past half time, but we do the old switcheroo and I put the show in your hands.
What do you got for us today? Power.
But one of my big questions is obviously, we watched the Patriots defense get absolutely gashed up the middle again.
For what do you think that was the third week in a row? I want to say I say we get so I think it started.
What? First, the Broncos with Phillip Lindsay just running all over us.
Do you think that this is really us missing? Dont'a Hightower.
I know we talked a little bit about how he might be one of the people.
Belichick looks to save money on next season.
But do you think it just shows how much we need him? Did you know how much I love Dont'a Hightower? And I absolutely believe that he is the missing piece on the defense this year.
Hey, look, I've been waiting for Joshua J to come.
What a hell of a debut for that kid, right? I mean, a hell of a debut, but yeah, no, man.
Josh Hightower is just He's a leader. Number one.
You even look at Jawan Bentley, right? We talked about this last year.
John Bentley is not the same player on the field when high towers on the field or off the field.
Um, and I think what we're seeing now is that inconsistency in Jawan Bentley.
And I think that he's a better player when he has Dont'a Hightower.
They're kind of pushing him in the direction that he needs to go.
Um, and Hightower is not gonna miss those open field tackles.
He's not gonna miss Jimmy Garoppolo, you know, and let him run through him.
He's not gonna let Zach Moss push him around.
He's gonna make tackles a little one of the knocks on Hightower is a little slow.
I mean, we can't deny it.
He's not the fastest guy in the world, is not great in coverage and get burned by running back when he's covered a running back and pass pass coverage.
That's where maybe a guy like Joshua J could maybe step up and help a little bit.
Brandon Copeland, who's now out for the year.
And I like also when they put Shelly Calhoun in that outside linebacker position.
But when it comes to just roaming and defending the middle of the field Oh yeah, you.
The impact without Hightower is unbelievable.
You saw the tweet that our Twitter page account put out the other day from DPM commentary.
Just I mean, it said it.
That's missing it.
What do you think? Like, what are your takes on Hightower being not being here this year? I honestly, I think we both said it coming in.
He was the only one that we were actually concerned about.
I mean, a little bit Patrick Chung.
He's always been consistent for us, and I've always like Patrick Chung, but we were the most concerned about high tower, but I think I drastically underestimated how much we were gonna miss him, because it just seems like week after week lately they just getting gashed up the middle and for the past few years, I don't know. It's just been a luxury.
We've taken advantage.
We've taken for granted, basically, is just how well he's played and how consistent he's been at stopping the run.
Because the Patriots have been consistently good against the run for the past few years, and now this year they're just bottom of the barrel and added on to that, I want to respond to something I just saw in the chat here.
It's from MK Chicken vlogs and he said, missing Hightower in a run stuff, stuff in defense, defensive tackle and I want to bring that back toe a group chat we're having on Twitter and one of the things that you know make chicken because Bill Belichick, I'm sure you've heard has come out a couple of days now and talk about how the Patriots have no money this year.
You know they're broke and you know, and basically, he said, we sold out for the last five years, won three super bowls went to four.
You know, when the championship game of work.
Now you know, our chickens have come home to roust.
And then then you know we'll get through this year and next year we're back, and we got good cap again. Fine.
You know what we want? If you sold out the last five years and won three Super Bowls and went to four who the hell are we to complain? Right, Right, Exactly.
But make Chicken and I were talking about it, and it was like, You know what the big thing is? Is that so? Second tier depth, guys, It's the Danny Shelton's of the world to stop.
I mean, Danny Shelton was playing for a million bucks last year.
The Patriots at one point didn't have the money to sign Kyle Duggar.
You know, um, there drop pick.
And and that was to me like one of the big things.
Like, to me, it was like, Dude, like we didn't get the Danny Shelton's.
We didn't get the, you know, marquees flowers.
Who was here a couple years ago? You know, the Chris Long's of the world.
We're gonna come in and contribute for very little money, Um, but be those depth pieces that come through.
Instead, we're going with UK and Win Novich and Adrian Phillips and a lot of young guys on the offensive line.
You know there's no for nets on the team this year.
It's our No, there's a for Nets.
There's no the backup center last year became the center for For I forget his name now, but for you know what I mean.
When David Andrews went out, we haven't had that kind of talk, right? Right.
Um, so, yeah, it's really, really, uh, it's it's really it's out.
It's It's just been one of those years for the Patriots.
Look at some point and lets you know I'll say it.
I mean, I hate saying it, and Tom Brady is not here to disguise the missing elements, but, I mean, we went into yesterday's game with the leading receiver being Jacoby Meyers.
He's an undrafted free agent.
Gonna Rusevski was the third receiver.
He's an undrafted free agent.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tamir Bird was an undrafted free agent, and then that's the case.
I mean, probably was.
That means the Patriots went in now.
He wasn't he didn't start his career in New England.
And, uh, no, He was an undrafted free agent as well.
So all three starting receivers of the Patriot yesterday were undrafted free agents.
So it's That's the position the Patriots right now.
And that's what two receivers missing, right? Exactly.
And I was gonna ask you about that, too.
I mean, obviously, their best receiver coming into the season was supposed to be hands down Julian Edelman, who had somewhat surprised knee surgery.
Did you know anything about that? Because I didn't know he was planning on having surgery.
I don't think he was planning on having surgery.
I think that Look, I think that him being injured is finally the explanation of what's been going on with Julia season.
I mean, we talked about it all.
I mean, how many times I called him a liability? Yeah.
I mean, a couple of times we just said we don't know what to do with the guy.
Yeah, so I think that he was just playing through pain, and I can't remember who wrote it might have been Fitzy, and he kind of said, like, you know, that this guy, you know, he played with three sunken ribs like he's the toughest guy in the in the world.
If if it came to the knee surgery, it's He gave it everything he had before the surgery, you know, before surgery became a thing, right? Um, but yeah.
I mean, I didn't know he had any issue.
I think he was on the injury report for it, but I didn't know it was that bad that he needed surgery.
I mean, did my big question, too, Is did you miss his presence out there yesterday, or did you not even really realize that he wasn't out there? I did notice because would have been really nice if you could have had him and Jacoby Meyers, right? Because I think the combination of the two of them could have been very effective if you got a healthy Julian Edelman.
If we think about Julian Edelman, who back in Week three just torched the Seattle Seahawks? That's the Julian Edelman I think of.
Uh, but yeah, that's what I think.
They really missed him because, dude, I mean, I'm changing subjects, but I think we need to talk about it like we talked about last week, I said, I want to Seymour Jacoby Meyers.
I don't know why he's not playing, why he's being left behind.
Why do they keep going with Tamir Bird instead of Myers? Well, it took Nikkila Harry and Julian Edelman being out, but I think it's what I've been saying all season.
Why is Jacoby Meyers not playing? Uh, I'm gonna say it, Dude, I know we defend Josh McDaniels a lot, but shame on you for holding this kid back and it taking serious injuries to get him involved in the game plan because this kid can ball.
And we knew that from last season.
We knew from last season that this kid could ball.
So I know that, um, I think Josh McDaniels takes a lot of unfair criticism, but I'm going to for sure put criticism on for not not figured out a way to involve Jacoby Meyers before last week.
When Harry went down in this week, I agree.
And you know what, like last season, in the few opportunities that he's had, he's taken advantage of them every time.
I always remember being very surprised by Jacoby Meyers when I didn't know who he Waas.
And every time he'd come in, he'd make a couple nice catches, he'd make a few plays.
And then as soon as he did, he'd be right off the field and he'd be done again.
Which is something I think we see a lot with McDaniels is some people come in, they look like they're decent, and then they go right back off the field.
So I don't know why he hasn't worked to get Jacoby Meyers involved until he had absolutely no choice to, because they had nobody else.
I mean, look, he came in last year.
He caught 63% of his passes.
Uh, he was 26 for 41 359 yards, no touchdowns.
What? Um, I remember there was a couple of games where the play came down to a big throw by Brady, and it was Jacoby Meyers.
We all saw the connection that him and Jared Stidham had during training camp, right? And that was kind of like, you know, he found his way onto the team.
And you know what? Rhino is saying this in the chat, and I kind of agree 100% Sometimes Josh McDaniels outsmarts himself all right and way saw that a lot last year.
I'm not going to say we've seen a ton of that this year, But, like last year, I was like, McDaniels is over thinking the game like he's not making it simple.
He's over thinking the game, and I think back to 2018 when they won the Super Bowl and he called the same play three times in a row.
You know, once the Gronk one settlement, then to Gronk again, or whatever it may be that set up the Sony Michelle touchdown on, they get down to the goal line and they call a play that they've been calling all season.
The same play they used to win the A F C championship game is the same call that play they called the for Sony Michelle to running the Onley touchdown of Super Bowl 53.
And to me, it's like That's Josh McDaniels, right? Have good plays, but keep the game simple.
I thought he had thought himself this year.
I haven't been overly upset with his play.
Yeah, he just doesn't have much to work with this year.
Yeah, I've liked his play calling.
I just Yeah, he doesn't have anything to work with, you know? And I don't know a lot of people that go back to that Rex Burkhead pitch against Las Vegas and I'm like, Yo, Birkhead is known for making people miss.
I mean, look at yesterday on 3rd and 10 that individual effort by Rexburg had to get the first down, right? Like, you know, that you give birth, head the ball in that situation because he can make things happen, right? Yeah.
One of the issues with the offense is they just don't have any identity, either.
In 2018 they ran the ball down.
Teams throw its multiple times behind Rob Gronkowski and James Devlin's blocking.
I mean, that's what they did all the way to the Super Bowl.
Pretty much is that they gave Sony Michelle huge holes all season long and they just ran the ball all over people.
And this year they just they don't know what they're doing out there.
They're not a I guess they're run first team, but they're not dominating the run.
They're not dominating the past.
Well, speaking of running the ball down people's throats.
How about Damian Harris? He has looked pretty good.
Then he had a very good game.
First, the Bills 16 carries, 102 yards average 6.
4 yards per carry.
Ran in a touchdown.
Um, I mean, he ran.
He He's unbelievable.
This is his job. At this point.
But I wonder now if they can set something up a little bit different.
I wonder if they could.
I really liked what I saw at a Zach Moss and Devin Singletary.
Right where Zach Moss was sort of the workhorse.
Devin Singletary was more of the finesse guy.
Now they're kind of using Rex Burkhead as the finance guy.
Um, James White is the, you know, the mainly the third down back.
But I think that Sony Michelle could have the opportunity to be a finesse guy if he could learn how to get involved in the past game.
That's my concern is I haven't seen him really get involved in the game, but yeah, no, I'm telling you, uh, Damian Harris, apparently to can catch they don't use him often, but the kid is just I mean, good for him.
I mean, what more can you say? But good for him like he has played now.
In four games he averaged 5.
5 point eight yards per carry against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rushed the ball 17 times for 100 yards.
Denver It was actually a bad game from on the average 3.
17 yards, but the only game the ball six times right there, playing from behind the entire game.
Then he goes to San Francisco, play San Francisco.
He gets the ball 10 times, runs it for 58 yards.
8 yards, and, like I said 6.
3 yesterday, basically 6.
4, 16 times 100 2 yards.
I mean, Dude, there was conversation that this kid could have been the steal of the draft of 2019.
I think he was the steal of the draft because he's running like a first. He's.
We got our Nick job.
That's all right.
We got our next job.
The guy I wanted him right, right.
I just want to see them feed him the rest of this season.
I mean, unfortunately, it's kind of a lost season at this point, so I want to see them build on what they can actually be good at in the future.
So let's see Damian Harris run the ball.
You know what's Let's see Jacoby Meyers get more involved.
Let's get the tight ends playing.
I mean, let's start trying to build some momentum towards next season and people who we know are gonna be actual chess pieces going forward now.
I wish that we could have gotten Mario on this call because I think we need to discuss what Sean McDermott said.
Do we not e got to tweet here in front of me? I send you? I said, we need to talk about So this came from NBC Sports Boston Bills head coach Sean McDermott called Buffaloes win over the Patriots. Quote.
Emotional for our entire city.
Um, how I don't like using words like peasant and stuff.
I'm not that guy, but you just want a like, ah week game.
There was a week.
A game like this is a team that doesn't know what it's like to be a winner like you never see Bill Belichick celebrating a week a game.
I mean, the locker room talk you usually like. Good game.
We got a tough game down there next week.
You know? Gotta practice all week.
Like Sean McDermott calling this an emotion.
So the entire city So basically, Buffalo won their Super Bowl yesterday, right? I mean, is it hasn't been that bad for the past 20 years that they're just, like, crying tears of joy because they were finally able to beat the Patriots, I guess.
Is it that What is it? That is it that big of a deal? I was just shocked when I read that.
I was like, That's being a little bit dramatic, right? Exactly.
That was my exact I was a little over the top.
Um, listen, I know that I know that this is a rough season, but sometimes I just thank God that I'm a Patriots fan.
I'm not a jets fan.
Guys just wanna let you guys know we will not be on tomorrow.
We're taking a break, actually.
Rescheduling until Friday.
Um, there's a big day in the United States tomorrow.
So for the first time, and I'm getting I'm getting a vote for? For president.
United States might not rumors.
Yeah. Yeah, and we're gonna get a picture.
We're gonna get photo evidence of this.
Yes, as long as this is legal.
I have to check.
Okay? As long as I want There will be.
I won't share it.
All I'm gonna do is frame it and put it on my wall that I just to show people I've been, you know, I have a vote.
Is President United States.
That's what we want.
I think you would be better than both.
Oh, I appreciate it s so big.
Night tomorrow. Tomorrow's the election.
Um, probably not gonna want to hear about the patriots.
Be honest with you.
I wanna I wanna watch this election to.
This is one of the most historical elections in the history of elections.
Listen, no matter who you vote, who you're gonna vote for, no matter who the candidate is, go vote.
Let your voice be heard.
Um, you know, you can't complain if you can't complain.
If you don't vote s o, I want you to go.
I want you to vote.
Um I know I'm Canadian, but I vote here anytime we have an election.
Um, and I've always said, man, if you could get high voter turnouts, I mean high, like 85 90% voter turnouts.
Politicians would have toe listen to people because every election would matter, s so good luck to both candidates.
Good luck to both parties.
I know that I specifically would back one if I could.
I'm sure you do the same thing, but we don't talk politics here, Connor.
So we're not about who we do, and I'm not gonna make any predictions about who wins.
So we will not be here tomorrow.
You go out and vote, be like Connor and I who will just be on the couch watching the results, probably texting each other because, well, we don't have lives outside of so wear.
Sometimes writing ridiculous things.
