November 2nd happy Movember can't see it, but I'm trying to grow a mustache here.
Anyway, I hope you had a nice Halloween weekend.
It's ah, my favorite part of the year.
The fall, the world Siri's ended last week goes is still on a high.
We got the elections coming up, but yeah, we're still in this pandemic, so hopefully we can cheer you up for the next hour.
We are here every Monday and Thursday here on SportsCastr No more.
You're on SportsCastr.
No, besides that, no more Wednesday's It's Monday and Thursday noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.
So here Here we go.
We're gonna obviously talk about all the events that took place this weekend, including the UFC Hall Silva card.
I don't know what fight night number or ESPN plus number It is.
At this point, it doesn't matter.
I had Anderson Silva, the great Anderson Silva in his final fight in the Octagon against Uriah Hall.
We'll talk about that one championship, had four title fights out there in Singapore.
And of course, Bela Tor, they chimed in.
They've been busy as well in the last few months, so throwing some news got a new sponsor to talk about as well.
Buckle up, folks.
It's mm, a junkie radio, things like every week we gotta talk about some fights and possible legends thinking about leaving the sport, leaving the sport.
At least that's the way it's felt in 2020.
Cejudo, Cormier, Habib, Anderson, Silva.
Stop it already.
Those were some big names, but this is what happened.
Your eye hall defeated Anderson Silva in the fourth round of their fight, their main event here in Las Vegas at the APEC Center, in what was called Anderson Silva's last fight in the Octagon.
Now, notice how I say that in the Octagon, all right, he doesn't seem to be done with fighting yet.
At least he didn't commit to it.
And let's not be hypocrites, because on one end, how big does it a week ago? And we're like, Oh, come on 30 or no, you can't be emotionally.
You can't think of through.
You got to take your time, you know.
So one week later, if Anderson Silva is taking his time, let's give him this time.
But it appears he'll be done with the UFC.
He uh, you know, he came in shape.
He competed, but then you're ill.
Your eye hall just was too much for him around four. He got rid of him.
Ti ko punches, uh, was the final call there.
And I'm sad to see a legend leave the sport, but I'm glad I got to see him compete one more time.
How about you goes I'm not really? Well, I'm not really sad, because I just have a very strong feeling.
It's not the end.
I feel like we're going to see him again.
Uh, he's a competitor, Er and I know he probably didn't like going out that way, not just off of a loss, but, you know, stoppage and no fans.
I just feel like he's gonna come back for maybe one more, or maybe even another run somewhere else.
But I could see him coming back, so I wasn't too sad.
I did enjoy the moment, though, you know that He took his time and kind of embraced everything just in case of this work.
The last time you and I like that the few people that were there were able to give him his round of applause and and your alcohol on him had that nice little moment.
I was happy for all that.
But I don't feel like we've seen the last of them.
And you know what? I thought Dana was a little harsh.
Dana White, UFC president.
He reiterated why he shouldn't have let him fight again, but he almost made it sound like a Silver's performance was poor.
Here's what was poor is he's older and his chin doesn't seem to hold up that that happened to Chuck Liddell.
Probably even worse.
Actually, you know, Silva would take some really clean shots and he would still be there.
He took a few, but, you know, as his energy meter went down a little bit as the fight progressed, he did age a little bit per around, but you know, he won the first round.
In my opinion, he lost the second round and the third round he was winning Prior are Yeah, e.
I mean, look, he he competed and he looked good, Alright? And he won some rounds or 11 round for sure, But he still had some power.
He still had some technique.
He actually moved a couple of times ago.
He moved and countered really, really nice.
So I didn't think that I think Dana is actually being hard on himself.
Um, he should be okay with the fight, The way it went down.
Ah, Legend got B, but any not any different from some of the other guys that got blasted on this card was pretty violent, man.
There was some good good stoppages in this fight, and it was no different from that.
Uh, and like I said, he came in shape, you know, he made the way.
He competed against a good top 10 middleweight.
I was okay with it, man. I was okay with it.
What I'm but I'm not sure of, though, is if I want to see them compete.
Because if I were to see somebody in another league or just somewhere else just completely decapitate him, that would make me pretty sad.
This was a pretty clear warning sign, but I don't think they made the mistake of letting them fight this.
But I don't think that was wrong.
I was very, very confused by that stance and even some people that you see on social media.
I'm one of those guys that I'm one of the first ones to say.
I'd rather see this guy go preserving his brain, his health, his legacy.
But honestly, I didn't think he looked that bad.
I think really what it comes down to is you're not gonna You're never gonna have the Anderson Silva old that is gone that will never come back.
But if you just take the Anderson Silva bold and drop it or not, you still have a pretty **** good fighter.
And I thought he did pretty **** good against your eye.
Holly, right? How is difficult to fight? Okay.
He may have lost his on his record, but none of them came easy.
The guy's very hard to fight, and I thought Anderson did fairly well, so I was actually okay with it.
Um, okay, with seeing him come back, and if he wants to do another one against somebody else, I'm okay with that.
I just don't see why he why Dana was so adamant about him not looking very well because I just thought he looked pretty **** good for his age for where he's at in his career.
I think what it really comes down to when you're the guy across from him.
It's kind of like that Mike Tyson mystique once Buster Douglas put him down, half of of what makes him so menacing is never really seeing that moment.
Like seeing him never getting touched right when you finally see it, I think some of the guys that are standing across from Anderson not that they don't have the respect for Anderson.
But I just think that bone chilling moment where you were just looking at the guy and you're like, God, does this guy have us always? He's been eliminating people left and right.
It kind of goes away.
And it it reminds you as a fighter to fight your type of fighting, to go in there and not be afraid.
I think that mystique is kind of gone, and I think that's hurt Anderson.
Now the Anderson is adapted to that.
Yeah, I would say that this would really was no different from Josie, Although fighting Peter Yon, you know all the trail off in the last his last few fights, the same way Anderson did.
Anderson a year and a half ago went the distance with Israel.
Adesanya Anderson with 18 months ago actually had a moment where he e guess wobbled.
You know, he caught Israel. Adesanya.
He's tough, man.
He's a talk out, no matter what.
But again, had he come in sloppy and just not even performed, Then you probably say something like that.
Like like BJ versus Frankie Edgar, Part three.
That's something where you go.
What was I thinking? You know, because in times in BJs career where he's kind of given us, he's fed us that info that he's slowing down.
You gotta be interested in the sport too.
Interested enough to know that you can't just, you know, walk off the barstool all the tank Abbott years ago and fight.
He could do that.
You know, those heavyweights could get away with that a little bit.
All the account.
I think we have some steamrolling machine that's headed my way.
Anyway, uh, you know what's done is done, and I do want to clarify.
I thought Anderson was winning around three until Hall put him down around four but didn't finish him.
Uh, and not by a wide margin, you know, but still My point is he was competing.
And then around four, Hall took him out.
Um, it would have been interesting if it was just a three round fight.
I think Anderson still would have lost, but it would have been interesting of halted and finish strong.
And around three, what would happened? Perhaps then Hall would have also turned it up.
I don't know, but it was pretty cool to see somebody fight their idol and then have those moments that they did afterwards.
But, like you said, goes all 2020.
So sad to see a lot of these guys go on top and not have that crowd.
First crowd that final walked to the locker room with people leaning over the guardrails and telling you you're the best.
You're You're a legend, you know.
Thanks for the memories.
All that stuff's pretty cool.
You know, none of them are really did able to take that.
So I don't know.
I don't know what will happen in 2021.
I'd love for you see, to go old school and bring some of those guys back in, uh, to an octagon to the octagon and kind of have some sort of announcement like that.
You don't have to announce that they're going into the Hall of Fame that day or or anything else.
But maybe just give them that moment.
Yeah, bring them all in, have them all of their gloves down and just let the crowd give them a puss.
Almost like when they did the first Hall of Fame when they inducted, like, 88 guys or 10 guys at one time.
You remember that? Something like that where you just bring them that? What's that? That type of stuff is bone chilling to me.
That's worth the price of admission.
Sometimes just to be able to say you were there when something like that happened, so I would be down for something like that.
I think they deserve it.
And hopefully the UFC does it.
Former UFC coordinator Bert Watson will be joining us in 20 minutes.
Getting used to the new format.
And I always forget the guest.
The guest is actually the meat and potatoes of our show.
Us too, numbnuts.
We spend the other 30 minutes talking about these great fighters and managers and all the different notables that contribute to the sport s Oh, yeah.
Anderson Silva may not be done yet.
He put out a statement.
Where is it? Here.
I'll read it cause it's not that long.
But again, it doesn't give us any clarity.
Good morning, my people.
Today is a very different day for a simple reason.
And I wanted to thank you all for all the years of your cheerleading.
I want to thank God for granting me the gift of the fight.
Thank you to my people, for all the understanding, for all your support and for all your amazing moments that we live in the sport together.
I hope they left it in memory and in the heart of each of you, a little of who I am that you can overcome difficulties every second of uncer*****y and to overcome obstacles in your lives.
Never think about giving up as hard as things get.
At some point, you know that I leave all my love all my respect for you Force in time always.
And God bless you all.
Thank you all Bless you and bless you.
We got blessed twice.
That's from Anderson Silva.
So again no, nothing clear in terms of Could he fight in the UFC again? Because he does have one fight left in his contract.
Dana does not sound like he wants him to fulfill that, because they sounded like he shouldn't have even done the last one.
That's why we've been talking about that.
And now he also said I wouldn't be opposed to just letting Anderson's of go and do what he wants to do because he was asked by the media that was there.
Okay, Would you just, you know, released him from that last fight and allow him to go fight for another promotion and do his thing there, and it didn't seem like he would be opposed to it, but he did say, We gotta we gotta figure it out.
That's kind of what he says when I think he doesn't want to make sure he he doesn't tangle himself in a way.
But we, uh, in the legal in the legal game legal jargon game.
Mm, I'm gonna I'm gonna show my hand a little bit, Thio the audience that turns into the spinning back click.
But I have a prediction, and it's gonna be this He has one more fight and it's gonna be Chris Weidman and it's going to be in Brazil.
I think you actually find off on that.
Who? Why wouldn't you do it? You got one more fight.
You give the legend his moment.
It's Chris Weidman.
I mean, Weidman's kind of lost a step. Aziz.
Well, he's still competitive, But you know he's not the same guy who was the first time he fought Anderson. And either is Anderson.
Do that 11 more time.
Send Anderson on his way.
That's what's gonna happen.
It doesn't happen. I'll be mad because it makes sense.
Is it okay? Not bad.
I mean, you got me thinking here.
First of all, there is no other name.
I want to see him in there with.
It really isn't.
And he's kind of thought everybody and Wightman isn't in the title picture at this moment.
So yeah, I could see that because he needs the time off.
You're probably thinking maybe May of 2021 May, because could see Weidmann.
I'm connecting the dots.
Weidmann wanted to fight, comes at Shaimiyev.
He signed the dotted line, but then he got injured.
He didn't specify what the injury is, but he wasn't able to fight him.
Excuse me in January.
That's why homes at shimmy office fighting Leon Edwards in December.
So is if it's an injury that only set them back a few months.
And now we're looking at May or June, which, you see has gone back to Brazil at that time.
That could make a lot of sense.
I could see both guys being into it because I know Weidmann, even though he got the wind two times, he probably gets tired of hearing those that say, But did you really meet them? You know, even though he broke his leg with a proper technique, you know, like kick technique on, even though he knocked him out, he still gets those shreds of doubt.
It's just one of those weird instances I know on paper.
When you look at it, it's not gonna make sense.
But anybody that was there and that saw it can at least say I get where you're coming from.
Nobody can dismiss use being on crack for sure, but I bet you that one will be a nice one for people toe for people to digest and think about.
I think you can't really put too many holes in it other than know the UFC s firm. They don't want him to fight.
Okay, okay, I get that.
But no, I could see that one happening.
And speaking of the middle with middleweight division a quick update here.
So I mentioned Weidman's not a contender.
That's not a disrespect to Chris.
I mean, Chris, once he feels like he's got the skills to still do that and compete there, but he needs a few more wins.
However, Robert Whitaker, who defeated dare until and Jared, can hear this this year, he, uh, had pretty much convinced Dana he was the number one contender, that he would be next for Israel.
Adesanya he just Israel Adesanya Uh, well, the third fight ago.
So before Jared Cannon near him before der until he lost his title toe.
So I'm sure Israel probably didn't want to fight him this quick.
But Whitaker put in the work and Whitaker's 10 and one is a middleweight.
He's a former champion, so it's not unusual for the UFC to go.
Hey, he kind of did what we ask of contenders, and that's the go out and get some some winds and you're in kid, you know? However, apparently being a white shared after these fights this past weekend that he offered Whitaker the shot in the Whitaker said no and digging in the little.
Apparently what happened is he's expecting a kid, and he just didn't want to fight until, like next March.
And it looks like the UFC wants to keep turning these fights out.
So what's gonna happen? Israel Adesanya is now on a collision course with John Vlahovic.
That one caught me off, guard goes.
Everyone put it on the spinning back click and Mike Bond or somebody.
One of our Panelists said, Hey, now that Jones is out of the way, let's let this division breathe a little.
We got Glover Teixeira fighting this weekend, uh, fighting the Los Santos this weekend, and that could produce a proper number one contender.
You know, Jones is still at heavyweight.
Apparently, he hasn't said he wants to drop, so you know, this could provide a proper number one contender for Young Vlahovic.
But did you see said, No, no, no, no, no.
we're gonna go. Champ versus Champ.
What do you think of that for? My first question to them is why, right? What is the payoff here? What is it that we're proving? Nobody on Planet Earth has ever said.
I wonder if these two were to ever match up right? And it's no disrespect to them.
You rarely do it when there are guys in two different divisions.
But when you do it, it usually revolves around some sort of greatness that can't be matched or a beef or something like that.
We have none of that here, so it really makes no sense, especially when there's viable challengers in both division.
Bring both division.
Um, I just don't understand how a newly crowned light heavyweight champions first defense is a guy a champion from another.
Another way, class like that, you.
It just doesn't really make much sense to me.
It's its's gonna start confusing the hell out of people you know.
People are going to go what that I mean, people are already kind of questioning rankings.
And now on top of this, you got guys from other divisions just bouncing around.
So many times has talked about.
I don't want this to become boxing.
Guess what? I'm getting pretty **** close to looking like boxing, cause this happens a lot in boxing.
Yeah, You know, there's a lot to unpack here.
For one, I know people are gonna give Israel a hard time because they're gonna say you didn't seem that interested in going up when it was Jones.
Now you're going up.
But to be fair, since then, he beat Paolo Costa, who was a clear number one contender, and he had to fight him.
You know, he had that on his play.
Jones was bickering with the UFC.
We didn't even know what he was gonna do That kind everybody off guard this summer when he said, I'm done, I'm done with, like everyone I'm moving to every way.
It just seemed like he was.
It was like a negotiation ploy from Janz.
And he is probably thinking, Well, this division is kind of solid already.
Why don't we just wait till Saturday and see if Teixeira, who's won four in a row, or Santos who took uh, Jones to a split decision? Let's see, one of them looks good and We have our matchup here within the 205 ranks, but I think the US he's kind of left with no opponent at middleweight and a champion that wants the fight and a champion that wants to build his legacy, make history.
So he said, Well, **** it, then I'll challenge on.
So from Izzy Side, he's probably thinking to make sense, because look at all the guys he's taking out. Whitaker.
What I just said is 10 and one is a middle way.
The former champion, Your Romero, who everybody said is the scariest man on the planet Holocaust A who was undefeated.
He was supposed to eat race, is he? And he didn't so from Israel side, he's like, Hey, man, I'm working here, you know? Does he have those title defenses like Demetrious Johnson and Anderson Silva GSP And no, he doesn't have that, but he's on another path.
He's on the undefeated path, one that Habib just took and retired from with a lot of money.
All of these marbles up here and guess what a lot of people were saying.
He's, uh he's the greatest lightweight ever.
He's the current pound for pound somewhere even saying he's the greatest of all time.
I think Is he saying Hey, maybe I could just, you know, dip in and dip out with a lot of dough and go on to do something else I don't know.
I don't know what's going through that man's head, but I don't fault him so much for taking the fight.
And from Janz point of you guys, I almost him as what? What you want from me.
You know, he seems like a team player.
Just does what he's told a little bit.
And he may even seem he may even think I'm fighting a guy way lighter than me, way lighter than the guys up banging with usually so cu mhm.
I cannot blame Israel.
Adesanya and I can't blame Yang Vlahovic.
If you put this in front of each guy, why wouldn't you do it? Janz first title defenses against the guy that's smaller than him, a guy that can probably get him or paper viewpoints on the card where he can actually start to make good money, right? I mean, let's be honest here.
Clever to share a Silva those those names aren't really that ***y.
If I'm Vlahovic.
I'm gonna run into killers anyway at some point, right? I don't think Israel Adesanya hits harder than any of the other guys that are waiting for me.
So if you look at it from Israel, Adesanya is point.
He's thinking if I'm gonna test my waters up there, this is probably one of the better guys to do that against.
And he hits very, very hard.
But he's probably doesn't have the speed that a John Jones has or anything like that.
This is a good test for me as well.
And like you said, you can't really knock him.
Because if you look at some of the last fights, he's had a pretty tough individuals.
You can't guy for wanting to do this.
That is a who's who lists that Israel Adesanya has gone through.
And I'm looking at the USA Today sports.
A junkie rankings in the middleweight division.
I don't wanna leave anyone out sometimes.
Once the show starts.
Uh, I don't compartmentalize as well, but I'm gonna go through one by one.
Is his number one Whitaker's number two? So Whitaker was offered the fight. He doesn't want it.
Not right now, at least is.
He doesn't wanna wait.
You'll see. Doesn't wanna wait constantly.
Just beat Canon here.
Just took himself out because he lost to Whitaker.
Hermanson has won since losing the cannon ear.
Okay, he's 21 5.
He's pretty exciting, in my opinion, but he's already got a fight booked with their until not that they can't take it apart and say, Okay, Hermansen versus Israel Adesanya But maybe the UFC feels like Hermansen still needs one more fight for them to be able to sell that one.
Who knows? We got Romero again.
We don't want to see them running back yet.
Think Romero needs to ice somebody, you know? Derrick Brun won four in a row, but they fought before, and I think Derrick Brunton needs to take out one of these top guys.
That's usually where Derek Brunton has had his troubles.
Is the top guys massages over? Revelatory will touch on that in a second.
Um, so yeah, I think that's why the UFC said, You know what? We're just doing this, man.
We're doing this champ versus Champ.
Um, I wouldn't say I'm down for it.
but I don't blame either guy for doing it.
The only people I could blame for is the UFC for putting it on.
But it just doesn't make any sense to me.
Uh, goes the other day, man, When you told me you were getting excited, you were gonna get some yard work around the yard work done around the oak tree this weekend. I got confused.
I was out there at 6 a.m. On Saturday.
I had my work boots, So I'm like, Well, I was I thought we were gonna get some work done, but you never showed.
Then I put two and two together when I noticed you hadn't come out of your bathroom for, like, 90 minutes, and I saw that man skate box on your bed.
I was manscaping, baby.
That's what I was doing.
I'll tell you what. Look.
Manscaping is a new for us. Gentlemen.
We've all been doing it for a long time.
But what man scape dot com has done is they've made it easier because you can kind of breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have toe have band aids and God's lying around just in case something whereto happen.
They've made the process so easy.
And that's what I was doing.
George, I was in my room.
I was making sure everything's nice and proper using not just the tools that that they gave us.
But I also got a couple extra things here.
I got the ball deodorant for after you got to smell nice and clean.
Hey, man, if you're gonna put deodorant on here and here and cologne on, why wouldn't it make sense to put that downstairs? You gotta have that area nice and fresh.
So now what? I do, Georgia, I have my whole routine.
When I get out of the shower Boom, this comes on.
I got my little struck.
When I'm walking out, I'm feeling good, but when you're on a date or something, crazy is going on and you don't have time for this little bad boy right here.
Just give yourself a little spritz when nobody's looking.
Actually, probably when nobody's looking, maybe go somewhere where you know nobody is looking.
Give yourself a little spritz and that'll get you out of a jam too.
But yeah, I'm down and I've been liking this stuff.
You did have a bounce in your stuff all day.
Eso Then I went and I ripped my package open to because they had so box.
What's that of the box you rip the box of? Yeah, I mean, a few years ago, I did rip my package open because I was using scissors.
I was old school in it.
But let me tell you something, man.
I followed behind in trimming my yard and you know you know what I mean.
Mass cape isn't playing around.
So I got this bad boy right here and guess what goes e.
I immediately went because I had to read something to put the comfort in me.
Right? And this is what jumped out at me.
Replaceable, hygienic skin safe blades.
All right, that's the key, because the fellas the oak tree.
You gotta be careful, man.
I'm telling you, scissors don't play.
And this right here made it feel like basically I was shaving up. Okay.
My grill this'll box.
0 is full of all kinds of goodies. I got boxers.
I got all kinds of goodies here, man.
I got those ball tuners that you said as well.
Um, you man, it is all the rage here in this house.
More stuff down here. And look at this.
You know, when I go on a road trip, they even sent me a T shirt that I love it when I pull out that bag.

I'm going for that bad boy next.
Yeah, that's probably good point.
We are on camera, all right? Just to finish out here.
Some of the rest of the results that took place this past weekend It was the UFC card here in Las Vegas.
Your I A Hall again defeated Anderson Silva in the main event in the co main event.
We had Bryce Mitchell defeating Andre Fielea.
That was a good fight, man.
Feel he couldn't stop to take down, But when he did, he made it really, really interesting.
I'll get feely props he put in the work.
He still needs a way to go.
I just don't know if he has the frame to stop a tank like Bryce Mitchell.
Honestly, um, you know, he's thin and wiry, but, man, he got out of some tough positions with some really, really interesting techniques, just using leverage and pushing off.
He got out of, like, being mounted.
You know, remember Mitchells, a guy that really could have his way with you once he gets you to the ground.
So kudos affiliate in a loss.
But he still took the L Bryce Mental states.
Undefeated Greg Hardy defeated Marie Screen.
You know he's a tornado man.
Honestly, he's a tornado for five minutes.
Then the tornado goes from, like an F five or F four to F three.
He's still dangerous.
The tornado still **** you up.
But Maurice screen, You know, he wasn't just gonna lay down for the guy, either.
However, Greg Hardy got him in the second round and Goodwin for him.
Now I think we really need to see him back in there against a guy like bulk off again, who we took a loss to, but someone at that level to see if he's got it, cause he's already proven to me that he could get past all the other guys, you know, that that have been thrown against him.
Uh, Kevin Hollande defeated Charlie and Tuberose submission to a slam.
Something happened with his neck.
So my reaction was more towards the slam.
Was pretty vicious, actually, Was a really, really exciting fight on tomorrow's had some nice techniques as well.
But I'm not laughing at the injury that, you know, it was seriously for a second, like, Well, what happened here? You know, because somebody gets slammed on their head, You just never know.
But that's what happened, folks.
He had a neck injury and so he verbally submitted the album.
I say is defeated.
What a fight, man, These guys one for it.
Bobby, I think, has, um if the fight doesn't go to the ground there and in the final minute And what a summer would have been for Bobby Green, he was very gracious and just in defeat.
I wish these two would have taken flight of the night.
Alexander Hernandez, Adrian Yanez, Sean Strickland.
After two years, Jason Wit, Dustin Jacoby, Miles John's all in the wind.
Calm the bonuses went to Kevin Holland, Alexander Hernandez, Adrian, Inez and Miles Johns.
50 k for all of them.
No fight of the night at all.
That's because we just had a bunch of killers.
All right, time for our guests.
Its former UFC coordinator, Bert Watson.
He's also been a promoter.
He's also that within the boxing world with Joe Frazier, the man is a legend in combat sports.
And now alongside the M M.
A junkie radio guys, he's got a Siri's called Legend the Legend.
And guess what? The first one was a success with Chel Sonnen.
The second one drops today.
Bring in my burnt, Watson goes, We're gonna bring them in, Actually, in 12th.
Make that one second. There he is.
What's up, baby? How you doing? What's up, baby? I'm trying to make it, man.
You know the drill.
You know the drill.
So religion Episode two drops in 30 minutes.
And I'm really excited about it, man.
It's, uh, it zone exciting.
It's an opportunity for me to sit down with guys of you know who have entertained and kind of stamp the name on the sport on who have made their marks in in in in the sport and in history.
And, you know, just a non opportunity to sit down and do some Ogi chatter.
You know, just to kind of chat with them just about whatever.
I sit and I throw questions at them and allow them to ask me questions.
Nothing's off limits.
Everything's on the table, you know, and it za fun time.
And it's an opportunity for myself and fans to get to see these guys and see that they're still very active and kind of, you know, just listen to some of the important and and enjoy the interviews.
Yeah, and for some of the younger audience, you know, Burt coordinated for the UFC for over a decade.
So he was the first guy the fighters would see when they stepped off that plane, and he would basically coordinate everything that they needed.
They could be ready to go on Saturday that been checking their weight immediately.
When they got off that plane, making sure they had everything they needed throughout the week so that they could have a smooth way cut, they wait and then obviously performing on Saturday, and there's a ton of stories behind the scenes of Bert and his team and what they needed to do to, you know, keep these fighters right.
Not everyone shows up like a gladiator and ready to go.
Some of them are really going through a lot of different struggles.
Burden his team, coordinated all that and made it happen.
Uh, and now birth, you know, kind of like go back in time a little bit with some of these legends, Pull out some of those stories, Man that Chel Sonnen one.
I've listened to a lot of Chel Sonnen interviews that there was a lot of stuff that I didn't know that that's the beauty of legend.
The legend is we're finding out a lot of stuff we didn't know.
Well, you know, it's a ZAY said it's an opportunity to **** with these guys and not only just kind of chatter with them, but, you know, at a comfort level where we talk about things that we both know, you know, things that that I know about their careers and things that they know are things that we went through together.
For the most part, most of the people that that I'll get an opportunity to sit and talk to.
I've either have been around them or worked with them, you know, are walking to the caves directly, you know, and and have had one on one moments with these guys.
You know, like you said, sitting there with with jail and having an opportunity, which was episode number one, You know, just having a random conversation with him and going going through the years and some of the things that he reminded me about the time that I actually got angry with him and upset with him and kind of put him on check about that scale and his his weight in the three days he went back to the WBC days for that one.
Right? I think I had something.
He showed up, but you thought he didn't.
So he left you a note. Something.
Well, well, he was supposed to show up, you know, two things I always believed in.
You gotta make waiting.
You gotta be on time, baby.
You know, anything other than that is unaccepted.
So he just he was a little bit targeted are showing up, and I kind of I went another direction on him, you know? But then again, as I left, he came in and thought I wasn't in there.
So he wrote a note for me and put it, wrote a note on the towel.
I don't know where the hell he found the towel and the market to write the note, but he put the note over the towel, let me know that he was there, but he was a little late because I was already mad with him.
But it worked out.
You know, most of these guys show up during the course of the week, man, and it's, uh, it's a heck of a thing to show up fight week and had to prepare for not only the week of fights, but the week of interviews and things that they got to do and all the paperwork that they got to do and they feel everything they got to do is unnecessary.
And that's all of them, basically.
But it's a part of the system, and it was a part of the process.
Then they gotta cut weight.
So when they're coming there cutting weight, they're already ****ed and mad and don't wanna be bothered, you know? And you know, some of the things that I've gone through with some of these guys, you know, all of them.
It's really refreshing.
And it's kind of interesting for myself to sit down with these guys and talk about the things and and some of the things that that that they go through and they've, they've they've done and, quite frankly, the majority of the guys that I worked with When they come into May and I get them, there's a history before me.
So a lot of that stuff, I don't know.
So this is sitting down with these legends, you know, I gotta do a little homework, you know, and and and to sit down with them and to go through exactly what their history waas before UFC or burnt watching or W E.
C or Strike force.
You know, back in the glory days and pride and, you know, it's ah, it's actually a lot of fun, man to sit and talk to these guys, and as I said again, it gives me an opportunity to refresh that acquaintance with them and to sit down and talk and try to pull out the things that they have not will not say to anybody else.
What about the idea being ideas are usually born here.
Well, you go through a process that involves a lot of people and then you get it down on paper and then eventually you perform on video and then it goes into the editing room and it comes back.
And we've heard actors before, say, Man, I felt I was the actor in the movie.
I was a star, but I felt like I was watching it for the first time.
When you sat down, you saw the finished product of you and Chel Sonnen.
What did you think of the finished product and was it close to what you had in your head? It was it was absolutely and kudos to you guys and your production staff for the way you guys edited and put that stuff together because I'm over here conducting an interview and putting things together and throwing out questions, not in any specific order, you know, initially in the intro.
Yes, but then as I go along, you know it comes out randomly and you know once once the piece was put together.
You know, it was a collaboration of the questions I asked and the history that went along with it.
And it was all visual and it all came together And it was in my, you know, myself, man.
It was like a d a m n.
You know, it was it was amazing to see how how it came together on and how it actually made sense.
Once you got to see this particular sorry, that you're about to do here is Randy Couture.
It's number two.
Let's talk a little bit of what? That one.
And can you talk about Maybe the first time that you encountered Randy Couture? What was it like meeting for the first time and all these years past, Has he changed at all? Well, uh uh, Randy Couture is still Randy, you know, he's still he's still the natural.
Still, Captain America is still a nice guy.
But when I when I get to meet these guys initially I get to meet the person before the person they become, you know, and and I don't know that person from before, So I see what they evolve into and for the most part, it za mature process is a process of maturation where they where they have grown up to the sport and they've hit the highest level where you have tow, you have tow, absolutely performed regardless, regardless of ailments, regardless of injuries, regardless of age, you have to perform because everybody that level can fight and you know it.
With with Randy, it was always a comfort level because he was always the consummate professionals, you know, He he knew what he had to do.
He knew he had to make weight.
He knew he had to be a certain place on a certain time on.
It was always that level that I didn't have to worry about him too much, but at the same time maintained the same type of excellence that he brought.
So when I had an opportunity to sit down with him and you know this the second episode coming up with him, it's It's actually the first time that I've had an opportunity to sit and talk to him for an extended period of time.
Outside of an event environment, you know, on I got to do that, you know, it was it was amazing man to sitting.
Here's some of the things that he spoke about.
And I know that I actually went through most ah lot of that with him.
And then also, you know, I don't want to speak too much on the peace because I want everybody to sit and watch it.
Baby, I want everybody to go and see it.
But it was It was also a great opportunity.
Toe work with Randy Couture through his UFC career and then to retirement, then his son.
You know, that's that's an amazing and And that's something you gotta here.
You gotta You gotta hear him.
Explain to you what that was what that was like, what that was all about, but amazing conversation with him.
Man Legend The Legend Episode two Drops Today at One Eastern 10 a.
Pacific starring Burt Watson The man here to my left weight to my right.
Always confusing with these screens.
Former UFC site coordinator now doing the legend.
The legend Siri's here on Mm.
A junkie, uh, included in that post you'll see a link Episode one Because if you love episode, do you will love Episode one.
It's been a business been a busy summer.
Maybe it zip by you, but check it out.
And we also have a clip.
Uh, episode goes, is going to share that with it goes That's playing little exclusive By understanding that there was, There was there was there was a story in that fight that when it was time for Vito Bell for two tickets walked to the ring.
It was taken a little longer than it normally does for a guy to get from the dressing room to the ring.
And I don't know if they had ring, walk music or whatever, but whatever they had, he didn't come out on cue.
And, you know, actually, John Big John McCarthy Robert about it in his book, Yeah, well, and before golfer was, ah, beast folks.
So trust me, something happened up here.
A that moment took him a little while to come out before he actually came out and fought Randy couture.
But yeah, there's a lot of that good good behind the scenes stuff in legend.
The Legend to Episode.
Legend The Legend Episode two, Coming out at one Eastern 10 and Pacific Wow.
Trying to birth there for a second way off the chain, baby, And it's something that you can't miss, you know, for all u m m.
A junkie fans, you know, legends. The legends.
Believe me, it will not disappoint.
You know, for for those who are avid fans, new fans wanna be fans and thinking about fans, you know, you start at the top and then work your way and what's going on today, but it will keep you.
You know, I plan to keep you informed and keep the guys basically that you want to see and you want to hear from and the things that I know that you need to hear, baby, right and shot for producing along with Kamikaze Abby in the UK They've done a fantastic job, Got a shout out because it's a team effort.
I was gonna say Abby has done a tremendous job, because when you take what what Burt does and then you take what Abby does, it's like storytelling upon storytelling.
So you have to remember George and I have been doing this a very long time.
But there are times that I have to pinch myself and remind myself you gotta change the camera you gotta deal because, Bert, you can't see it.
But I'm on the other end like this, just watching.
And I'm hearing stories that I don't know about.
And so when Abby on top of that adds all of the stuff that he adds, I feel like I'm watching it again for the first time.
It's just a brilliant way of storytelling that both of you guys, when you put both of you together, it's tremendous.
And And the first one with tale with great and the one with brandy is just is good and and And And the great part of it is that these air things that aren't made up these air things that actually happen and things that you probably had no idea about And and now you're going to get in opportunity to see an opportunity.
Thio here and you guys have been around a long time.
Am I correct with that? Yes, it is.
There it showed up. 3101.
I'm gonna play that number today, but anyway, uh, you know, you guys have seen it and and know what it is.
And and no one stuff is is good.
And it Zurif fresh ng man it zits a spin on on our world on on on mm a You know, in the careers of these guys who have made their mark.
And I can guarantee you, baby, that there is more to come and and I'm gonna be grabbing everybody I can, baby that I could sit down and talk to him and bring you on episode A great episode of legends The legend, baby.
Well, hopefully you got you know, you know, you know, those guys in the submarine, that air looking and they're looking out for all the different destroyers out there.
Hopefully on your radar is Anderson Silva one Anderson Silva, who apparently fought for the last time in the UFC Octagon on Saturday.
Catch up with him.
No pressure, but do you have in stories with Anderson Silva and the Times you worked with him over these past few years? Well, you know, I actually and I saw I saw the fight with Anderson Silva and, you know, it's never I grew up with these guys and I watch these guys grow up, you know, and Anderson Silva the time that I worked with him.
I remember Anderson.
So he was always the consummate professional, but always, Ah, family man.
And he used to bring his sons around him.
And these were little guys when I say little guys, guys that I didn't want in the dressing room because you don't want kids, not either the dressing rooms of the workout room.
Because when these guys are throwing guys around the room, they're not mindful of who's around.
He had these little kids with him all the time and these were his baby.
And he had a situation where the two little boys that came back, one to come into the dressing room and I let that happen.
You know, I said, You know what? Just because I mean, he asked and didn't try to sneak the guys and he did it.
You have the guys address from time to go to the cage.
And when it was time to go to the cage, we have police escorts because I'm gonna tell you that Walk from the dressing room to the caves.
I can't tell you how many of these I've lost when people snatching them off my head so and not only snatching my hat off my head butt, grabbing the fighters.
So it was not, You know, I'm not saying it was unsafe, but it was a heck of a walk.
And he had his two boys and he wanted those boys to go and the escorting the police said, No, they can't go.
So there was a dilemma because now they have to figure out how they were gonna go and get Anderson silver kids from him.
But, you know, I thought about it for a minute, and I just kind of waited till like he was pacing back and forth and he was praying, and I waited till I got opportunity to get face to face with him, and I did.
And I told him, You know, it's time for him to take that walk.
But I got to take his kids and he just looked at me and he gave him to me and gave me those two boys with the little dreads on their head, you know, on just the fact that he thought enough and had enough of a comfort level to say here and to give me his two kids.
That's a That's a heck of a thing for, ah, father to do, especially in that environment.
Not really focused.
So I took 22 kids, took them down and sat them down at a good comfort level this past weekend.
I'm looking at the fact the fight and one of those kids is a grown a grown man.
I think I think his name is Gabriel.
He actually works out with him and trains with him.
So this kid has now grown up to be, you know, one of his dad's sparring partners.
Or and I really like I said, I remember when he was that big, you know, and to see him now and to see Anderson this weekend, I I never enjoy seeing those guys lose.
That's anybody, anybody.
I they're all all my Children.
So I get a sense of that.
A little fatherly thing with every fighter that I worked with, all of the fighters, camps, the corners and to see them lose is never, never a good thing.
But I watched them and support them, and I watched the fight this past weekend, you know, saw the outcome.
But, you know, retirement is the hardest thing in the world to tell a Nath leaked to Dio, you know, to tell him that his time to quit this time to go.
That's the hardest thing to do.
It's, you know, sometimes you have to let them find out for themselves when it's time to do something else and do it a different way.
Bert, what was Anderson Silva like in Brazil, man, He was he, Anderson Silva.
Brazil was like like the Mohammed Ali was of our era.
You know, It was it was unbelievable.
Every place he went, any place he went, he was so recognized.
He was He was so revered.
And the fans, you know.
But what made that really difficulty was that Mm, a M m A.
Fighters ingratiate and and they reach out and touch the fans.
They don't chase fans away.
They don't run from fans.
So to try to get him down the street from one place to another.
And he's the type of person he's gonna sign every autograph.
He's gonna take every picture, you know, and you walk one block and you got 20 people.
By the time you get a half a block down, that 20 is now 50 and you get to the next door and he goes in there and spend two minutes and comes out.
That crowd is now 250 you know? And it was It was It was unbelievable.
We had open workouts over there where people showed up.
And, man, it was like a like a pep rally, you know, a sea of people, you know, and And they were all there for one guy, and he You know what? He he did not disappoint when they came to see him in terms of the way he treated everybody, you know, he was He was not, You know, he didn't He didn't speak a lot of English, but he didn't have to, because his body language was more than anything he could say.
His body language and his accent and the way he treated people was more than anything he could say.
And I know it was no pressure, but I'm working on that.
All right, well, listen, in the meantime, we'll focus on Randy couture legend.
A legend Episode two drops here on mm a junkie at 10 a.

Retweeted, Whatever you do on Instagram, the more it gets out, the more will continue funneling into the show.
It's a great squad with Abby Goes and Bert kicking ass.
They got a few in the can already, and I know that they've got a few more that they're gonna be working on.
So check it out with Randy Couture Nooni.
Excuse me one Eastern What? 10 a.m. Pacific.
So right is this show is finishing up now.
I'd be remiss goes if I didn't mention one championship back in action this past Friday.
Four title fights.
Two champions retained, their titles goes and we have two new world champions out at one championship, 1 18 Inside The Matrix.
Rainer De Ridder defeated on the song, so he's their new light heavyweight champ.
Basically, our middleweight division Christian Lee defended against your Ilah Pincus in their welterweight title, are lightweights over here because of the rehydration? That's just a little bit different, but basically I'm trying to give you how it works over there and how it works over here.
Then we had Tenley taking the title from Martin Win in the Ease their new lightweight champion, our featherweight division over here, and lastly, uh, Jean Jinan defeated Tiffany Tale.
She defended her flyweight title out there strongly division out here.
Shout out to Michael the voice.
Cavallo, he shouted out a bunch of people from junky nation.
It was great to hear him do his thing, one of the best in the business. For sure.
We also had Bela Tor Bella Tor took place on Thursday.
Are you saying something? Well, I love me.
My ballots were man belt or always a lot of fun.
This was the main event that I was waiting for. For a while.
I was very, very excited.
But, you know, I don't know what it is, man, I don't It's not Bela Tarr's fault.
They put together a quality main event in Gay Garden, You Saucy and Douglas Lima.
That's a fight that's fun.
When you look at them stylistically, it makes a lot of sense.
They're both great fighters.
But the results that we got were just not what we would expect in that type of fight.
And it's got to be frustrating for belt or because on top of that they lost a couple of people on the card, and it's not their fault.
That's a great fight.
It just didn't deliver.
And and I wanted to get your thoughts on that.
Yeah, I felt the same way, you know? I mean, I guess I'm having a tough, tough trying a tough time accepting that certain fighters are basically hitting a wall, slowing down or just completely over it.
I'm a big gig, our new saucy fan.
I thought I saw this guy fight since the Pride Days, and I was excited when he went over to strike force, then eventually to the UFC.
Sad to see him leave the US because I thought he was a definite contender in that division.
But look, belt or rights, Um, nice checks and at the same time belt or every time they signed free agents, the make the U.
C continue to compete.
All those companies that you've always heard of over the days they forced the UFC to up their game, you know, So it's good to have these companies around.
It's good when they signed fighters for belt or sometimes runs into some terrible luck.
Um, I mean, they got their sums Middleweight champion now and Douglas Lima.
He just didn't look good in his attempt to be a Champ champ.
He's still a beast that Walter wait, But just the problem with belt or shows.
Sometimes this was belt or 2.
50 is you get so hyped up and sometimes the rest of the card can't rescue it like Silver versus Hall, for example.
That fight wasn't.
You know, if that fight doesn't deliver, then basically the fights cards still Okay, because there was so many.
There was some such good action earlier on in the actual fight card that, um, you know, no problem.
No problem of their you know what I mean? Bela Tor is kind of like all their chips air in on the main card sometimes.
So when you have either a snoozer or a fight that doesn't deliver, it's just this big letdown because everyone's cheering for belt.
Or nobody wants to write an article or do a podcast or jump on radio and say, Well, that sucked or whatever, That was a letdown.
Nobody wants to do that.
We always want the best fights, the best results, the best promotion for the promotions.
And this one didn't have it.
I thought one championship had a hell of a bank.
I thought that, you see, had a hell of an event, you know, and but belt or just kind of limped across the finish line, you know, and and I don't remember this with strikeforce under Scott Coker.
They stuck to their 6 to 8 shows a year.
But I'm telling you, man, they were exciting shows.
They put a lot of pressure on the U.
And that's why the U.
S. C was ableto they They purchased them. They purchased pride.
They purchased the WBC.
They purchased the strike force.
Why? Because they were in a in, in essence, a threat.
Those guys had also created stars Daniel Cormier, Tyron Woodley, Rhonda Rousey, gig our Bruce, Ozzy Derek grunts and and uh huh, the who's who.
So you know, we want belt or to do well, but yeah, On Thursday, I was like, Yeah, okay, you know, But then we went on the one championship.
Then we went on to the U. C.
And luckily, mm May save me this weekend because my team sucks.
My Niners lost the Seattle man.
You lost to ****nal.
It just wasn't a good weekend.
What you gonna do, right anyway, folks, we're gonna dip on out of here.
Uh, I wanna I wanna catch the legend.
The legend Episode two That's going to drop big thanks to Bert Watson for jumping in, and obviously we'll be back Thursday.
We'll talk a little bit more about the news surrounding these fight cards that took place.
Douglas Lima is already saying I gave him too much respect.
Anderson Silva is already putting out a statement or put out a statement, you know, and hey doesn't specify whether he wants to fight or not.
It's looking like Izzy versus Young Black Jovic we have.
I believe we've secured a time to talk to Robert Whitaker, so we'll get his thoughts on that D. C.
Is going to stop by a well this week on junkie radio.
So check it out.
We're gonna bounce on out right now, folks, enjoy your day and thanks.
Thank you, as always for the support.
Thanks for a lot of the kind comments you guys left regarding our 3100 show, which was last Thursday.
That was very, very nice of you.
A lot of old school names, a lot of people sharing stories.
It was really, really touching.
Anyway, folks go out there
