Hey, what's going on, guys? Thank you for checking me out.
I'm trying it a new position today.
Usually I have it, um, on the other side.
But this time around, I'm going for, um, the opposite out just so that I could push my Mac book back and I could get some space.
So yeah, that's the idea.
I kind of wanna have some space, and and I wanna talk about the next.
Now, I want to talk about why Sometimes I, uh I make less videos, and that's because I'm a big fan off.
Ah, lot of Nick channels.
And, you know, I always wanna have something to say when I go to a channel.
So you know, when I'm watching my YouTube channels, always whatever they're talking about, I wanna have a combat.
I want to respond to their videos and give my take, and that takes a lot of time to, you know, you know.
So I gave a lot of props toe people who make videos, and I think, um, you know, if you're responding, you know, it takes time to respond, and you gotta think about it, and you gotta be smart about it.
So it takes work.
I think everybody, it takes work to build a nick community.
So, you know, it's not just, you know, it's not just one person just talking about the next makes it work.
It takes a community toe work.
And you gotta have that kind of mindset, like, Hey, man, he's putting in work here.
I'm gonna be a team player, and I'm gonna be a fine and support, so, you know.
So So what happens with that is I started to make less videos, and, you know, it's OK for me.
You know, I'm just getting started anyways, and And at the end of day, I'm you know, I'm just a fan, and I just wanna just, um I want to support, you know, I'm a big believer, you know? You support others and, you know, and then in the future, um, you know, God will provide.
So, you know, I'm a big I'm a believer of that.
So, you know, no matter what, you know, the way I see myself, uh, you know, with this next stuff, you know, I don't see myself unless I stop myself.
I don't see, uh, you know, I God will always provide somewhere some part with me.
So but long story short, I want, you know, I want to talk about the Knicks, and I want to talk about the present situation.
And I wanna, um, give you It was reported that the Knicks, um, what is reported about what I lost my train of thought already, but has to do with not trading down, which is another idea I'm thinking about, uh, the Knicks want to take up contracts.
Yeah, the next willing to take a contract, so yeah.
Yeah, I want to talk about that.
So apparently the Knicks are willing to take on big contracts and, um yeah, so long is is there a draft pick involved? And, you know, you hear so many.
I watched so many videos of this that when I even think about having a conversation, I forget I lose my train of thought.
So bear with me about there are a lot of videos about a lot of ideas off.
You know what? What contract we should absorb and what draft pick we should get.
And you know, some some ideas.
A great and some are better than the others.
and and you know it's just getting started.
It's still early, so there are a lot of ideas out there and, you know, get ready for a lot of them a lot of more.
But my whole thing is this.
Now here's where you know this is a multi layer conversation, so it's hard to It's always It's not just, you know, a lot of fans.
Let me just put this in perspective.
Ah, lot of fans right now, you know, they just want a lot of draft picks.
The more the better, the more the better.
And, you know, you hear a lot of Knick fans, you know, they just want a high draft pick.
There are a lot of people are with the youth movement.
Hey, I just want to see, frankly, Lucchino plate, you know, 20 minutes, 30 minutes.
Um, Kevin Knox, 20 minutes, 30 minutes.
I want to see we are just getting a lot of minutes and, uh, whoever we draft to give them a lot of minutes toe to see what we got.
So there's a There's a huge There's a huge We got to see what we have mentality with the Knick fans.
and a lot of Knick fans are really gearing up for the 2021 draft.
So the 2021 draft is really huge for for a lot of nick friends.
And, you know, this is where I start to separate myself with this conversation.
You know, um, because how do I start that conversation? Yes.
You know, a lot of people make a lot of valid points. Yes.
We need draft picks.
The you know, draft picks aren't born.
Are they important? Absolutely.
You know, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna diminish the value of draft picks, right? That's you know, that's that's pretty cool to have draft picks.
Um, but we want to be mindful off what people are doing and what what builds? Um, a good roster, a good team and player development, right.
Like for example.
You see, we got Johnny O Bryant from Utah and Utah has been in the playoffs ever since Donovan Mitchell's been there, right? So from day one, Donovan Mitchell's been in the playoffs from 2017 right? And it's been him and Rudy Gobert and it put pieces around him.
Right? And they're not the most and I have to, you know, have to start labeling.
But they're not holding draft picks.
They'll have one.
Or if they have two, great, but they're not.
You know it's one thing Toe.
Have two draft picks in the first round.
But once you start going for, like, three picks in the first round and trying to have three picks next year and the following year and having three picks every year, then you then you know it's not.
Let's let's keep in perspective that you cannot make the roster bigger than 15 you know? Yeah, you could send some players to the G League like Boston, right? Boston has Romeo Langford, Tacko, Fall, Taco, Fall Romeo, Langford, Carson average Hey, that's a pretty cool concept.
It's not about I did.
And then And at the moment you have Kemba Walker and you have Gordon Hayward, you know, in the MBA, right? So that's kind of cool.
So that's they have that kind of set up.
My whole thing is, um, you know, a lot of Knick fans right now.
They getting a veteran and win games.
They those two together for a lot of nick friends.
Don't go together.
It just doesn't.
It's just a lot of Nick.
Friends just can't do it, you know, it's not.
It's like it's like a it's for them.
It's not about that like, well, what we're getting out of that.
That doesn't make us better.
To get a veteran that that's it's like Listen, and here's why I have to make this video was like, Listen, I was like, You know what? I was like, Let me make my own video so I can start practicing.
Um, uh, you know, I think it's important.
So that's why I was like Okay, well, this is important and that this needs to be addressed.
I need to make this video.
This is important because you can't you know, you don't see You know Jason Tatum.
It's another one that's been in the playoffs ever since he's been drafted.
You know, he had Kyrie Irving.
He had Carrie Irvine, Gordon Hayward, now Kemba Walker.
You know, this is this'll is an organization that spent 2025 million on the player per year, uh, $35 million per year and the neck and, you know, on the Internet on YouTube, You know, a lot of Knick fans are not with that.
They don't want to spend $25 million on the player or none of that.
They just want to say, Hey, that's just you know Ah, lot off them are just very, you know, it doesn't make sense to them.
And for me, I think that's unfortunate, because that doesn't in my eyes.
That doesn't need to team wins.
You know, team teams, you need veterans in the rocks, unique talent.
You need to drive good talent, and you need veterans in the roster as well.
Better team, better team.
So you know it's important.
So this is what I am for what I'm forest.
I'm a little exhausted about him about getting, you know, at most this year in this year, 2022 1st round picks.
It's more than it's more than enough.
That's that's it. That's the maximum.
You know, if you want to trade up from 27 you want to get within the top, you wanna be a lottery pick.
If you wanna have be between 10 and 20.
Don't wanna have three picks this year in the first round and the second rounder, which I think I think the second round there is always available because it's always always a cheaper contract and you could find jams.
So I definitely don't wanna have three this year, and then you have to next year and the whole thing and the whole thing.
You know, I'm cool with just having to in the first round.
I like that concept.
That kind of that kind of concept is kind of cool up.
Hey, man, we got two picks in the first round, and and I'm a big believer off, um, capitalizing on your opportunities, right? You know, you can't start taking all you know, it's one thing toe.
Make your opportunity.
It's another thing to capitalize on the opportunity you've been given.
And that's what I'm into right now.
I mean, we gotta capitalize on the situations we have, you know, we can't start, you know? You know, it goes from having to first picks in the first round, 23 and then four.
We know they want four, and other Knick fans may want five, and then it gets out of control.
So for me, I'm just, you know, I'm starting off the gate.
I definitely don't want no more than two this year in the first round, and we already have two.
And and I don't want more than that, regardless.
How good, How good the talent pool is.
You know, a t end of days of 15 man roster, and we gotta pay these guys too.
You also have 2022.
You also have 2023 and stuff like that.
How's it going? Workshop.
I'll see you responded.
So I just want to spawn back book.
So let me I'll continue with, um I think I got started, right.
I got started with that whole with the concept off, keeping things more limited.
I want to limit the amount of draft picks, um, per year, you know, to in the first round before we start a whole new other wave of trying to have three in the first round.
So to in the first round, one in the second, it's not bad.
I think in my eyes it works, You know, 2017.
You seen Phil Jackson do that? He drafted Franklin Lucchino, Dave and then in the second round, Damion Dotson.
And then he drafted, looking hard when Luke Cornett went undrafted.
Bad draft. So that's kind of quote.
Then, in 2018 2018 we drafted knocks when we drafted Mitchell Robinson in the council chair, were undrafted.
And then last year we got our J.
Barrack Iggy, and then we got Kenny wouldn't undrafted.
You know, I don't want to go more than that.
That's that's what that's What bothers me is having more players than that year after year after year, you know, Um, but yes, so far, um, people are saying that we're looking smart, uh, for me, Honestly, when people say when I saw the ESPN from the jump, I think it's a jump talk about the hey, the Knicks are looking smarter for what they're doing.
And this that and the third.
And, uh, I'm skeptical.
You know, I'm still skeptical about that situation, and the main reason is yes, we got Julius Randle.
Great player, Um, give you He gives you 15 8 and three, but he's the only veteran that can actually produce in the next roster.
So you have RJ who can produce who is productive when he's on the floor.
You have Julius Randle, who is productive when he's on the floor.
And we did have Marcus Moors and he was productive when he was in the roster.
But after soon as he left, you know nobody can produce nobody's no.
Mr Robinson is very efficient, right? He's, uh, Mr Roberts is going to give you 15 points.
He's going to give you 15 points, 10 points and a few blocks and, uh, maybe five rebounds.
So he's productive, you know, he's learning his year to it was here to for him and yeah, man.
So he was I So Mr Robertson is all right, but you're still looking for, like, man who's who can hit a three.
You know what? Where's Kevin Knox when you hear the three? Where's Frankie Lucchino? Or or Dennis Smith Jr.
Denis McDonough was my last year.
So you know that one last year? I can't really blame him Too much Alfa. Peyton.
Where was he last year? I mean, he could He is good for steals and good for passes about you.
Do you know, you do look for some outside shooting in this next roster.
Like where is knocks? Where is Bullock? Where is little Kina? Where is, uh where is everybody else? Because, you know you can't just win between R.
J Julius Randle, who are giving you 15 points, Uh, across the board, you know, give you per game so the you know.
So So that was one thing that I want to get clear is that, you know, I don't think we are doing that great until we get another veteran which, you know, another Knick fans are gonna go crazy.
Like, uh, they're part of what? I want to hear that, but in my eyes, I think that's necessary.
I think we need to draft this year.
And I think on top of just drafting this year, I think we need toe get another solid veteran.
You know, which is tough for people.
You know, when I go to YouTube.
To for them is tough.
Very tough toe to hear those words they just can't hear.
Hey, man, why we need a veteran when we got our own players.
And you know, I don't think that's how it works.
I think you with, huh? e think you wanna You wanna have players that are established that can help you win games that have experience in the league and so forth and so forth.
So this video wasn't meant to be so long.
But I just want to just get the wheel goal for me because I kind of wanted to just at least voice that, um, situation about the need for veterans in the next roster.
You know, I don't think we're still, uh, you know, we haven't even gotten started.
As far as I'm concerned, Really, nothing has been done.
And, truth be told, the only thing that has been done it's been a lot of talking about.
We draft a solid player, but we need a veteran.
Somebody needs to shoot the ball to help out Julius Randle and R. J. Barrett.
Or you could take that.
You could say our Jane Julius, because we did draft are you know.
But the point is, um, these guys are not getting enough help.
They're not getting enough up between those two.
You know Mitchell Robinson? Maybe at most when he can, you know, can help you with a lot.
But that's about it.
everybody else is non existent.
And I don't know if the Knicks can continue to go this path off.
Getting three points.
Four points, five points from Kevin Knox and Franklin Lucchino.
Maybe we could keep one of them.
Maybe we keep both.
Maybe they should just be a backup.
Maybe they are just back up players in this league and we need toe.
We really need to get some starters in that roster.
Uh, but that's it for now.
Um, hopefully I can continue to make more videos and Yeah.
