00:01:52
I'm happy that you reached out to us because, um, kind of like I said, pre showman, our audience absolutely loves, uh, DFS and Daily fantasy and anything they can kind of tryto win something in some sort of sports contests.
00:02:05
So you're the perfect guy for this and and perfect for our for our audience.
00:02:09
So, man really, really appreciate you coming on.
00:02:11
Okay, let's see if I can kind of help you guys out.
00:02:15
First thing I want to say, man, we both got the same name and you spell it the right way.
00:02:19
So that's right, e.
00:02:22
I have to throw that out there.
00:02:23
That's gonna bring that way That spell the name of the K, like Like, those guys are weird.
00:02:31
Like, you know, that's not the way.
00:02:35
Definitely.
00:02:36
Way with might be with guys with the pH.
00:02:40
I look at that.
00:02:45
It is s o before we get in the statement statement games, man, tell us a little bit.
00:02:51
Tell the audience a little bit about yourself and you know who is marks Marcelino and other than you know, finding a statement.
00:02:57
Games What else do you dio? Yeah, sure.
00:03:00
So, I mean, of course, on the CEO and founder of statement games.
00:03:03
But other than that here, I'm definitely an avid golfer.
00:03:06
A huge collection of sports fan, uh, is currently live on Ah, Long Island.
00:03:12
I have them extensive kind of corporate background.
00:03:15
So I've probably spent close Thio 20 plus years in different forms of advertising and marketing.
00:03:20
And, you know, now just trying to make something out of what's originally I, ah, family based concept.
00:03:28
So in a nutshell, hopefully that gives you a little bit of a better understanding of who I am and what I'm doing.
00:03:34
Yeah, for sure.
00:03:36
Eso like you said, you're trying to make something out of, ah, family game that that you've played for for many years.
00:03:42
Of course.
00:03:43
Um And now what is a statement game? So get in the light of the toe that little bit.
00:03:47
What's that story? And how did that get started? Yeah, sure.
00:03:51
So, as I mentioned here, I I grew up in currently live on Long Island.
00:03:55
Um, in the Salina household, my dad was was an avid sports fan and still is, And I have a younger brother and basically, in this little household, we were raised to do a couple of things in a couple of things own you rooted for the New York Yankees, the New York Giants in New York, next New York ranges and literally like that Was it.
00:04:13
So, uh, like in most households, you know, my younger brother and I, we we took it to a different kind of like a level ah, whole new, you know, extreme.
00:04:22
And I guess, in a way, that upbringing it kind of back **** on my dad like, a little bit, because every single year I did.
00:04:30
I used to make a trip up to the Boston area, had an aunt and uncle who lived in the Boston area.
00:04:34
And that's where we went for for Thanksgiving.
00:04:36
So on Thanksgiving Gay.
00:04:38
But Dad wants to do nothing but watch Thanksgiving Day football.
00:04:41
Well, his his two sons, we want nothing to do with it.
00:04:45
In fact, you know, as we started, kind of getting a little older.
00:04:48
And when I say all that I'm talking about, like, 10 11 12 we start pushing back on my dad because you know that.
00:04:54
Why are we watching? Where? Why do we have to watch like a Lions game? You know, it's not the Giants, like, what do we care? Would rather be outside, you know, jumping in piles of leaves or throwing the football kind of around here, you know? And it was almost like it's sacrilege, just like my dad.
00:05:09
Like he's like, you know, flabbergasted like his.
00:05:12
His two sons, you know, don't wanna watch football with him on Thanksgiving Day, so literally in an effort to get us interested in other things besides the Knicks, the Giants, the Yankees and the Rangers, he created this game and we've been playing it for over 25 years, specifically on Thanksgiving Day.
00:05:31
I remember the first time that you actually played here.
00:05:33
He do literally, you know, bring my brother and I into a corner of a room.
00:05:37
And he did this with every single family member.
00:05:39
That was, uh, you know, in the Thanksgiving Day household kind of shows you how old I am.
00:05:44
Pew start kind of, you know, ask any questions about a Lawrence skin Barry Sanders over under 100 yards rushing.
00:05:51
You know Herman Moore over under seven a half receptions for the first time that we played, Jim Palmer was the quarterback of the Bears who were playing the lines.
00:05:59
You know Jim Harbaugh over under 250 yards, best every single family member through in a buck.
00:06:04
And now, at the age of 11 12 years old here, I'm locked into this Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day football game like it's the Super Bowl, because I have a chance to win 13 or 14 bucks.
00:06:16
Family got pretty, like, erratic cause as different stats, and I'm going to start taking place.
00:06:20
You know, we're calling things out, like all right, You know, Herman Moore needs another reception to go over the over Under Total.
00:06:27
My aunt used to refer to this as the football bingo game.
00:06:31
So that concept is, is something that I've always been I could have been playing within my family.
00:06:37
So in my, you know, advertising and marketing career, I've had an opportunity to work with a lot of telco providers, you know, APP stores, uh, application developers and I just said, Hey, you know what? This this concept that I've been playing within my family is a is a game it's a digital collectible platform.
00:06:55
So I left the corporate space in October of 2000 and 16 worked with some lawyers and put together like a little bit of a plan, finally actually deployed statement games towards the tail end of 2000 and 17 and just so that you know, everyone knows here.
00:07:11
Statement gives is accessible via www dot statement games dot com.
00:07:16
If you're not a Web person here, there are APS that complement the Web based product.
00:07:20
You can find this in, you know, the apple, the Google play store, and I really can't stress this enough here.
00:07:26
Statement gives. It is just a game.
00:07:28
We've created a game with a little bit of a different twist on fantasy sports.
00:07:32
What we do is we create games around individual sporting events.
00:07:35
So, for example, this upcoming Thursday night you have the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers.
00:07:43
The people want to play this game.
00:07:44
I'm going to present you with a list of anywhere between 50 to 60 different props.
00:07:49
Or hence the company named statements that are specific to that game.
00:07:53
Matt Ryan, over under 290 yards past the Panthers defense over under 2.
00:07:59
5 sacks.
00:08:00
All of these statements broken down at the various different categories from game statements.
00:08:05
Quarterback running back, wide receiver, tight end defense.
00:08:09
Special teams.
00:08:10
Aziz, you go through the list, you're physically going to pick 10 of them.
00:08:14
And as you make your 10 picks, you gotta rank them in order of confidence.
00:08:19
10.
00:08:20
Being your most confident pick one being your least confident pick.
00:08:23
So a Z, the game can I cannot plays out if your number 10 pick becomes correct.
00:08:28
You gonna get 10 points if nine through water.
00:08:30
Incorrect.
00:08:31
Well, now you just have a total of 10 points.
00:08:33
You're gonna play the league just like traditional fantasy football of anywhere between 8 to 12 other individuals and the person with the most points from correct picks at the end of that specific sporting event wins.
00:08:46
This is a free to play game we don't ask for, You know, the positing of funds.
00:08:52
We don't ask for Social Security numbers or credit card information for people who want to check this out.
00:08:58
Yeah, it's completely free.
00:09:01
You can actually utilize a Facebook or Google, you know, account that you might already have just to kind like a log in and check it out.
00:09:09
But you are competing for corn.
00:09:11
Um, your objective as a community members to build up a, uh, statement games account balance with as many corns as you possibly can, and when you're ready, you want to exchange those coins for a cash gift card of your choice.
00:09:25
So there's a whole reward system that's a you know, powered on the back end of statement games.
00:09:30
There's probably about, like 80 different merchants that are part of a reward system.
00:09:34
Anything from Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Nike, NFL shop on the armor Amazon.
00:09:40
You will change your coins for a cash gift card of your choice, so hopefully that gives you, you know, just a little bit more of an insight on.
00:09:49
You know what statement games is what the origins of the corporate story is and and how our position in the industry today.
00:09:56
Yeah, definitely, Man, that's perfect, I think even from, like for me and Steve, I mean, we're always looking for something to keep us interested in in any game like we're fans of, like, use the Patriots fan.
00:10:06
I'm a 40 Niners fan but we're sitting here.
00:10:08
We constantly watch, we play fantasy sports, we watch all the games and then this is just another addition toe.
00:10:13
Keep us intrigued on toe different aspects of each game.
00:10:17
I think that's what a lot of people out there are looking for.
00:10:20
These there's and I could just relate to kind of what you're relating to.
00:10:23
I got I got two little boys myself and it's the same thing is like on Sundays.
00:10:29
I'm watching football and I'm watching every game I got like the NFL Red Zone Channel flipping back and forth and and they're like, Dad, why is it changing every game? Why are you watching? Every game was like, Well, that's been a little bit writing on these games, so that's that's why you know, But just like you said, it keeps you interested in it and it's a different way toe to kind of play play a game.
00:10:50
I do have a question eso as faras like when you set the statements.
00:10:55
Are you using like Vegas prop lines to be able to do those to be able to pick your guards? Are you like yourself coming up with the totals to pick from, Say that one more time.
00:11:07
So as far as like when you like, If you say Matt Ryan's got under over 190 yards, are you getting that number from somewhere else? Or is that a number that you're just proposing for yourself for your site now, Right now, we're getting for the secret sauce here.
00:11:21
So there's a combination of a couple of different things here, so yeah, way pull feeds.
00:11:27
You know, some of the lawns are actually coming from, you know, different sports books or directly kind of like, you know, from Vegas themselves.
00:11:33
Some of the lines are utilizing our proprietary algorithms and things like that Teoh populate the lines.
00:11:39
So with that kind of tipping my hand too much, I'll just say that for the most part, lines are based on Hey, you know what the back of baseball card is actually gonna show? So on average, if you're kind of, you know, averaging 265 275 yards passing, give or take, you know, 10 or 15 yards here you can pretty much like, you know, from from that type of perspective here on what the line can actually go ahead and be from a quarterback passing perspective.
00:12:08
And also, how does it feel to be a Knicks fan? It's horrible.
00:12:12
E mean, it's not good, but, uh, it's just it's such a different kind of contrast.
00:12:23
I mean, it's, you know, when you grow up.
00:12:26
I mean, I remember when the Knicks were actually come like, you know, good.
00:12:28
And I can still like to remember those, uh, those playoff kind of know Siri's against, like, you know, the Bulls.
00:12:34
And it's it's just kind of completely different now.
00:12:37
I mean, trickle game 20 years, you know? Yeah, I still have nightmares, you know about control Smith playing the bulls, man.
00:12:47
Just freaking dunk the ball.
00:12:48
You know, when you were reading off the looks like teams that you that you that you rooted for, it would make me appreciate Thanksgiving Day games, even mawr, because then I feel like, you know, you have to find interest somewhere else, especially when your teams are aren't faring too well for you to be able to deal with.
00:13:04
So this is exactly why we kind of created because we were, you know, such big like giant fans or Ranger fans and things like that.
00:13:12
I might not know a lot of things that have taken place in San Francisco or Seattle or Arizona, but I can tell you kind of like I'm not saying that I'm right or wrong.
00:13:21
But there's definitive kind of feelings that you actually have.
00:13:24
Whether it's all right, you know what, There's no way is equally Elliott's running for over 100 yards into the joints.
00:13:30
Uh, they might not kind of can win the game here, but the Giants frontline is playing kind of, you know pretty well, and there's different things that you haven't inside feel about, especially from the home team kind of perspective here.
00:13:41
So with our game here, you don't have to know a lot of things that are taking place throughout kind of bleak here.
00:13:47
You just need to have some definitive strong opinions on a specific game one way or another here.
00:13:53
And if you have those types of feelings here, you know, in theory, you kind of like, you know, have, ah, a little bit of a competitive advantage over somebody who is, you know, maybe just looking to have like a little bit of fun and not necessarily as in tuned with that specific team, I say.
00:14:08
So you are so so in terms of like the we'll take a Sunday schedule for, for instance, you say that on Thursday night, where you're only you're putting out 50 to 60 statements per game now, are you allowed to pick throughout the whole slate of games on Sunday to be able to make your 10 statements? Or do you have to single out one game and stick to that one game to be able to deal with those props? We do wanna come like the traditional pick him tournaments.
00:14:34
Uh, you'll actually see that within the platform from a college football and just from an NFL perspective.
00:14:39
But the traditional statement games game here.
00:14:41
It's off of, ah, of a certain kind, like, you know, event.
00:14:45
So you're not kind of like taking a look at What is it, like eight or nine NFL games and kind of like you're running through maybe like, a few kind of, you know, 100.
00:14:55
Connect the statements enough to pick out your 10 here.
00:14:58
You're picking, you know, uh, Cowboys eagles, You know, here is your 50 to 60 statements and picking 10 from there Thursday night.
00:15:06
Monday night, Sunday night, same types of concepts actually applied.
00:15:10
Okay, another than you know, you mentioned the NFL.
00:15:13
I just heard you mentioned college football as well.
00:15:15
Are there any what sports do you guys, um, you know, have contests on the platform? Is is it all sports doesn't involve college sports on bond.
00:15:24
Are you looking at any If you don't once you don't have Yes.
00:15:29
So we dio, you know, college football.
00:15:32
But it's more from picking perspective here as the season goes on like a little bit.
00:15:37
And as our system is compiling, collecting more data will have individual kind of games.
00:15:41
It's really hard to set lines on an 18 year old kind of, you know, kid or a freshman who might be, you know, playing for Alabama for the first couple of times here.
00:15:49
And you know, it's the system needs to kind of catch up, especially from a Big 10 perspective here.
00:15:56
They don't have, like, you know, one game or one week under the Delta, but we definitely get creative here.
00:16:01
If you take a look at the system right now we run all different types of games here.
00:16:04
So I got a game on the presidential election coming up.
00:16:08
So that's a different kind of game that can actually play here.
00:16:11
We run golf pretty much like on a weekly basis.
00:16:15
So same types of, you know, concepts from golf perspective, you know, big time.
00:16:19
Kind of a pay per view event.
00:16:20
So last week we had, uh, was at UFC 2 54.
00:16:24
So, uh, UFC eso from, uh, mixed martial arts.
00:16:30
Even from from a wrestling perspective, any time you have, like, WrestleMania or SUMMERSLAM or any other big connected A wrestling events will have games like around that as well.
00:16:40
Um, but for the most part, it's it's it's it's the big for its basketball, hockey, football, baseball.
00:16:46
Um, but, hey, you know, we we try and get creative and come the full different sorts of things here.
00:16:52
So this past Fourth of July, we're going to contest on the Nathan's hot dog eating contest.
00:16:57
So we we run games.
00:16:59
People like to compete, so if you can kind of, like, you know, come up with a game here.
00:17:04
It's no different than profiting, and people will gamble on anything.
00:17:08
They will compete with anything.
00:17:10
It's week.
00:17:11
Same thing with the presidential election, the last one that they had.
00:17:13
We were betting on what color tie Donald Trump would wear, you know, like that.
00:17:18
So I'm assuming that's probably some of the same as the statements that you might have on the election or the debate.
00:17:23
Well, yeah.
00:17:24
I mean, it's look, you know, you have I think this, like seven.
00:17:27
You know, key senatorial races that have taken place here, that we're through into the game here.
00:17:32
So then, of course, you just have Alright.
00:17:33
Who? When Trump versus Biden, that's kind of like a general pick that can actually make here.
00:17:37
But then you have trump versus vibing and the eight kind of swing states.
00:17:42
So all right, just because you think you're the trump or body is gonna win the election year, you might have a little bit of a different take.
00:17:48
All right, Well, does he really take Michigan or Minnesota? Those types of things.
00:17:52
So you kind of like you're really handicapping the presidential election? Um, you know, breaking it down, ****yzing the statements, picking 10 of them, ranking 10 of them, and going from there here actually should say this too.
00:18:04
So, yeah, now that I can I think of it.
00:18:06
We'll actually have a tournament coming up.
00:18:08
Probably like, you know, tomorrow we'll be featuring some of the horse races for the upcoming BREEDERSCUP.
00:18:15
So, yeah, I guess you know, we we get involved with a variety of different things going to get you guys dabble in a little bit of everything.
00:18:22
Prime time, Yeah, prime time. Kind of, you know, events.
00:18:25
So, like, we don't run every single basketball game or baseball game or anything like that.
00:18:29
But you know, the the national, you know, games as as we grow and continue to build our our brand and things like that will add more games and content onto the mix here.
00:18:38
Unfortunately, if you're looking for the Kansas City Royals versus Minnesota Twins on a Wednesday night in August here, I'm not sure if I'm gonna have that type of a game available for play.
00:18:49
But Yankees Red Sox do does really well, that's Phillies.
00:18:53
Things like that that are, you know that, like like you said, golf you guys do.
00:18:57
Is that similar to like this week the golf tournament.
00:19:00
It's really kind of a no name tournament.
00:19:01
There's not a lot of big guys in it, because that kind of someone probably won't have a contest this week, as opposed to a couple weeks are.
00:19:10
Your Masters is definitely, like a couple of different weeks here.
00:19:13
But you're like, all right, you know what? The tournament cut line is overrun their, you know, minus 2.5.
00:19:21
You know? You know, I I think we'll take a look at the list of players that are playing with in the tournament and take a look at their FedEx Cup point totals or the world ranking totals.
00:19:32
What kind of gonna put the closest frank individuals head to head against one another? So not that they're playing this week here, but just say All right, you know what? If you had to kind of get a pick who does better in the tournament, you know, ****elson or Woods, you gotta kinda gonna pick one of them.
00:19:48
You know, Woods wins or ****elson like your winds.
00:19:51
You're taking a look at a lot of individual head to head matchup between two golfers that are closely, you know, ranked standings wise or a couple points Waas and and you're picking kind of gonna winner against that.
00:20:05
So for the listeners I know we had talked pre show about it.
00:20:08
You had said that if they go and sign up that they immediately get a 60 coin bank right off the bat, My first question is, Do if you lose the 60 coins, how do you refurbish those coins? Is this something that gets reactivated after a certain amount of time that you could be able to do that? Just Yeah, sure.
00:20:25
So So, basically, your objective is to finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a tournament.
00:20:29
So that's how you actually refurbished coins.
00:20:31
But there's other features within the platform that always giving the building top of your account.
00:20:36
So once you kind of get in there, there's a section called Get Corns um, within that little feature here, every single day there's a daily wheel you can spend the kind like into the wheel and whatever number that you actually land on that number kind of like you know, adds thio to your account.
00:20:50
You'll get coins for maybe kind of like making a couple of recommendations to your friends, associates or or family members.
00:20:58
So there's other things like that that you can always actually do top of your account for records, but primarily ill.
00:21:04
We promise your account and keep building it by finishing 1st.
00:21:07
2nd Eric, I kind of like I mentioned this time I'm gonna offline.
00:21:10
Um, it's It's something that's back far before me in the past, but the heck with it, I'll do it again.
00:21:17

If you go 10 for 10 with your picks in addition to any coins that you win that can be exchanged for a cash reward, I'm personally gonna come to the table with 200 bucks.
00:21:51
So think of it as a free lottery ticket.
00:21:53
Go 10 for 10 with your picks, Um, and I will go, and I will come to the table with 200 bucks cash to anybody who can, actually, you know, go tend to come with their picks.
00:22:04
You have to be listening to the shell, though, Uh, this is not something that I'm gonna promote on my social media feed or anything like that.
00:22:10
It's basically gonna be for your listeners and your listeners only.
00:22:14
I'm sure when we push this out deal like social media, If you could just kind of, like, you know, either, you know, tag me and and a retweet, or like or just put a comment in there that Hey, you know what? You heard it.
00:22:24
Now I'm playing for the 200 bucks.
00:22:26
That kinda like no signals to me that you know what you're kind of like, you know, you're in And, hey, look, you know what odds in my favor.
00:22:33
It's not necessarily something that happens quite frequently.
00:22:36
Somebody going 10 for 10.
00:22:38
But a couple weeks ago, I was on a different I was on a baseball podcast and we were talking about at the time was Game one of the Yankees and and the Rays game made the same kind of gun will offer, you know, 252 100 bucks cash for someone who go 10 for 10.
00:22:53
And not only during that game did one person hit three different people hit the 10 ft 10.
00:23:00
So I have to come to the table with 600 bucks.
00:23:05
But, hey, you know what? It's it's in good fun.
00:23:08
Gave somebody kind of like a good a good experience.
00:23:10
And hopefully I have Ah, you know, a couple of different members within the community will stick with us for a while, all right? But that's that's awesome.
00:23:19
I really, really appreciate that for the listeners.
00:23:21
Thanks for stepping up even after taking that little bit of a hit.
00:23:23

00:23:41
So any feedback that you guys can offer good and bad What you like what? You what you dislike, you know, lay it on me.
00:23:49
This is how I kind of, you know, grow and get better as a company.
00:23:51
But I can't stress this enough here.
00:23:53
It's just a game.
00:23:54
We've come up with something that's a little bit different here.
00:23:57
It's intended to be fun.
00:23:59
So hopefully you guys can have a little bit of fun with it here and let me know what you like.
00:24:04
I think I just want to say congratulations on the Passion Project E mean, it's awesome, you know, like way had a guy that we did an interview with a little while ago that basically comes from the same background as you.
00:24:14
And he basically just he started doing these things on the side, and then he basically made it is a passion, you know, when he's only grown from there.
00:24:20
So, I mean, you could only get better from what you're doing.
00:24:22
And it sounds like an awesome, awesome thing that you're doing.
00:24:25
So I'm definitely very excited.
00:24:26

00:24:32
You know, it sounds good.
00:24:35
Alright, Mark Danner, kid.
00:24:36
200 bucks is a lot of cash, especially if three people are winning.
00:24:40
Yeah, all right. Away.

00:25:14
Well, I hope so.
00:25:15
I mean, he's a really nice guy, so e no, but I mean, like, it's just another inspiring thing.
00:25:22
You know, a guy that, you know, basically took something that, you know, grew from his family.
00:25:26
And basically, after all these years, just kind of said to himself, you know, like no one else is doing this.
00:25:30
Eso let me do this and and followed through on it.
00:25:34
And he clearly he's somebody that seems very dedicated to the craft.
00:25:38
And like I said, like I think it's a great idea.
00:25:40
Yeah, it's awesome.
00:25:41
And then for you guys like it was just mentioned.
00:25:44
Make sure you go check him out at statement games on Twitter.

00:26:02

00:26:10

00:26:12
Let's get a lot of sign ups and and let's go on, let's play and let's try to win some money.
00:26:16
It's pretty. Say, might as well go.
00:26:18
Alright, man.
00:26:19
Let's get into swear jar.
00:26:20
Everybody's everybody's favorite segment.
00:26:22
Swear jar.
00:26:23
What the ****? Moments from this past week, Steve, I'm gonna let you go first, man.
00:26:26
What do you got on a side? No, my What the **** moment that happened on.
00:26:30
So we had a delightful We've had a delightful play date.
00:26:32
You know, at the playground with the kids.
00:26:34
You know, we did.
00:26:35
But what I did realize is, as I was becoming the lava monster and allowing, you know, Thio hang out, your Children kept sparing me in the legs.
00:26:45
Didn't seem like a big deal at the time.
00:26:46
But when I woke up yesterday, Mark, I could have really used some of that hemp cream because my legs were absolutely killing me.
00:26:53
And that's when I knew, like, I'm really starting hit that age in my life where, you know, like little things like that that, you know, I just can't handle it anymore.
00:27:01
And it's tough on them because stuff on you, because those kids are there their waist high.
00:27:06
Oh, yeah.
00:27:07
So when they're sparing you, they're coming.
00:27:08
All your come in, parts of my body coming in hot.
00:27:12
They're coming in hot, and they're not thinking anything else of it. God rest their souls.
00:27:16
I loved it, You know, I enjoyed it until I woke up Monday morning and I was just like and for anybody are Listen, if you guys need a lot of a monster for your kids, Steve is a great lava monster. Absolutely.
00:27:28
You know, go to the playground.
00:27:30
Now you got kids, Have some front, but on a side note.
00:27:33
So we'll get to the swear jar.
00:27:34
My what the ****? Moment of the week has to once again and I just can't abuse.
00:27:41
And I don't think the world can abuse this team.
00:27:42
Enough has to do with the Atlanta Falcons once again.
00:27:45
Found another historically bad way to lose a football game.
00:27:49
And this well table set the scene.
00:27:51
The score was, I believe, Mark E think they were trailing by a point Trailing by two points.
00:27:59
They're trailing by two points against Detroit.
00:28:01
They were well in field goal range on all they had to do was basically run out the clock.
00:28:07
You know, get down, kick the field goal.
00:28:09
They were inside the 10 yard line, I believe, and old friend Todd Gurley.
00:28:14
And if you guys remember Todd Girls last year, Todd Gurley was scrutinized for actually falling on the ball where he could have scored a touchdown and made it a nine point game, which was a completely different scenario.
00:28:25
He messed up to spread over the on everything was ****ed in that game.
00:28:28
Fantasy points, and the idea was like many things could have happened to him.
00:28:32
What he was doing, he could have got stripped.
00:28:34
He could have fumbled the ball.
00:28:35
He could have got hurt and all he had to do was run into the end zone to get the touchdown.
00:28:38
They would have went up nine points and the game would have been over no matter what.
00:28:41
So we'll set the scene this time.
00:28:43
Detroit's out of time outs, so basically, they're letting Todd Gurley score if they get in the end zone because it's either make make their kicker, kick a 32 yard field goal or try to get the ball back with one minutes ago with no timeouts.
00:28:56
So this guy, Todd Gurley, gets a hand off and proceeds to run the ball.
00:29:02
That he gets tackled a little bit, it looks like but shows the guy off and then proceeds toe run the ball towards the end zone and he want, he felt, do.
00:29:10
He fell right on the line to like he knew he knew that he wasn't supposed to score.
00:29:16
Yeah, but he still found a way to score, touched out and what ended up happening.
00:29:22
Detroit got the ball back, went right down the field and scored a touchdown on the last play of the game toe.
00:29:29
Once again send the Atlanta Falcons home shaking their heads, wondering How the hell did we lose another football game this week? Oh, that's the way we lost another football game this week, and people have argued that he scored on purpose because his contract is so incentive driven this year.
00:29:44
It has a big, big target amount of money for touchdowns this year.
00:29:48
So what the **** **** girl he was it really worth the incentive e? I don't think he's scoring on purpose, though.
00:29:53
Like he knew he had to go down.
00:29:54
If you look at when he fell that the ball barely crossed the plane like he literally landed on the plane, the line where the ball was just, like just had to be on it perfectly.
00:30:04
Like at that point, you should just be trying to center the ball.
00:30:08
Yeah, I just going fall down like just center the ball in the middle of the field, run the clock down.
00:30:13
This guy came blazing through the line with the Atlanta Falcons.
00:30:16
That's what they dio.
00:30:17
They lose in the worst way spot.
00:30:18
They should be undefeated right now.
00:30:20
E mean, you could argue that for their games this year where all losses that were completely driven by them.
00:30:26
And I keep talking on it back to the Super Bowl, 28 to 3.
00:30:30
Like boozers.
00:30:31
Some teams can't shake that ghost and somehow still do something.
00:30:35
And they don't even have anybody left from that team rather than a few of the players.
00:30:39
But coaching staff is all gone.
00:30:41
Clearly, the coaches cannot knock the stupidity out of the that these players, because once again Ah, stupid, stupid, stupid.
00:30:49
What the **** Moment goes to Todd girl and just lay on the ball, Dude, like all you gotta do is lay down and and the game was over.
00:30:56
But, you know, they could not do that.
00:30:58
They found a horrific way loose.
00:30:59
So that's where my what the **** moment we goes to.
00:31:01
Perfect for my what the **** Moment I'm headed Thio Zozo.
00:31:05
I'm gonna go to the Zozo.
00:31:07
I know you're a little upset about this, but I had to I had to do this because this is what the ****? More for two reasons.
00:31:12
Obviously, we'll get into your thing in a second, but first for Justin Thomas at the Zozo dozen.
00:31:18
Thomas's is going into par 5/16 and he's done two shots to Patrick Candler.
00:31:24
Obviously needed to make birdies in order to, um, to catch them.
00:31:27
And par 5 16 is definitely a birdie blowhole you could easily lay upon that whole, um, and not good clothes.
00:31:35
You have to lay up.
00:31:36
Yeah, well, John Graham didn't lay up.
00:31:38
No, I'm just saying you didn't like, but just set the scene.
00:31:42
If you go for the green and two right in front of the green, there's like a creek that runs across the center of the fairway.
00:31:50
And then from that creek to the green, you probably got, what, 20 yards? If that. It's very close.
00:31:54
So Justin Thomas goes for and he didn't even have that great of a lie when he went for like, I don't know what he was kind of.
00:32:01
I really don't know what he's thinking, thinking that he could reach it, but you have to do is lay up and not get close to a dozen times. one thing.
00:32:09
Oh, my bad. My bad.
00:32:10
My bad.
00:32:11
I'm thinking I'm my bad leg of a different thinking.
00:32:12
Different either way either way.
00:32:14
Either way, my bad.
00:32:16
I'm thinking of a different hole. Workers in the rough.
00:32:18
And and then he went for it on a different hole.
00:32:20
But either way, Senator the fairway.
00:32:22
John Graham had just gone prior to him, I believe, right.
00:32:24
He went first.
00:32:25
John Ron went for and barely made it over.
00:32:28
He barely made it over.
00:32:30
And, uh so I just goes to show you how tough of a shot it was.
00:32:33
And Thomas doesn't hit all of it.
00:32:36
I don't think he hit it as hard as he could.
00:32:37
Obviously didn't hit well, and he goes into the drink, and he obviously only part of that whole.
00:32:44
So he loses a stroke basically to the field because everybody else was.
00:32:47
I think Cantlie birdied it, and Ron birdied it.
00:32:49
Uh, that was a whole that they failed.
00:32:52
Uh, Robert, uh, Robert.
00:32:54
Yeah.
00:32:56
So So basically, um, for two reasons, it's just it's Justin.
00:33:02
Thomas.
00:33:03
What the ****? Why are you going forward in that situation when you could definitely make it make a birdie there, knowing you need birdies.
00:33:08
Thio come back and win the tournament.
00:33:10
And then for second reason, my guy over here had a DFS lineup and everybody.
00:33:16
Anybody who plays D efs and there's anything about Daily fantasy sports is it's It's like lightning in a bottle.
00:33:21
You set your lineups where there's a golf lineup or football lineup.
00:33:24
And you actually, in these contests where you have 5000 people, sometimes more, you have to get the perfect line up in order.
00:33:30
Thio make the money to even make Thio cash in these things.
00:33:34
But to make it somewhere in the top five, you really gonna have an elite line up in there and my guy over here finished in second my 0.
00:33:43
5 by half a point because of Justin Thomas, all we had to do was just lay up.
00:33:50
Let's lay up like don't go into the creek J t like when you I'm blessed.
00:33:58
I'm grateful that, you know, like even in a large field contingency that I was able to play second.
00:34:04
But when you see the price gauge where I would have been from second to first winning by half a point, and then you think about a shot that happened there at 16 and you say to yourself, He drove the ball perfectly.
00:34:16
All you needed was birdie.
00:34:17
He just saw a lot longer hitter and John Brown barely clear that.
00:34:21
And they were only two yards separated for the drive.
00:34:26
Why? And not only that, but the ball went way left.
00:34:30
It was just one of the way it it hit it good.
00:34:31
I mean, for the guy that's considered that one of the best golfers in the world like it was like a golf shot that one of, well, I definitely would have hit no matter what.
00:34:39
But like it was just such a ****.
00:34:41
Poor shot in such a critical moment of the torment on such a ah, big hole for him that all he needed was birdie.
00:34:47
It didn't even matter if he cleared the creek because he wouldn't have made the green anyways, so he would have picked on.
00:34:52
So whether he was hitting the ball from 1 20 or he was hitting the ball from 90 yards, it really doesn't matter.
00:34:57
So what the ****? I'll do it all that even at a dollar.
00:35:01
Like what the **** Justin Thomas like be better than that and will hinge back on that fact.
00:35:05
Like if he just birdied that hole if he didn't make that mistake like and it goes both ways there because the guy in front of you had Jon Rahm.
00:35:13
And what did Rahm Dio? He barely clears this game of inches.
00:35:16
That ball could usually kick back and went to that creek, but instead it goes forward.
00:35:19
He barely makes it on the pitch, is up close and makes birdie.
00:35:22
Yeah, like I said to you, you can't be mad.
00:35:26
I mean, I mean, you could be mad, but like, you gotta look at it and be like, Hey, I just want a good chunk of money.
00:35:31
You could have one more.
00:35:32
Yes, but like like you said, that doesn't happen all the time.
00:35:35
Basically, like you said, you didn't check that line up until they were on the back nine.
00:35:39
Because you thought you were out of it already.
00:35:41
Well, that's the best part about like anything I learned.
00:35:43
I think we talked about the Kino game last week.
00:35:45
Like everybody tells you.
00:35:46
Don't watch the Kino screen.
00:35:48
You'll do better.
00:35:49
Yeah, it was the same thing.
00:35:50
Is this like the ticket I had put a line up in? I checked it at the end of each day.
00:35:54
I was actually in a ****ty, ****ty spot.
00:35:56
I think I was, like, in 70 it going into Sunday.
00:35:59
And Kevin Streelman ended up shooting minus eight that day, which got low round of the day and basically platoon me back into a great situation.
00:36:06
And like I said, I had no hopes or expectations.
00:36:09
And that ended up being the best part about the day there I was on a sweat on 18 thinking that I had a shot.
00:36:14
I was in first place, couldn't believe it and then boom.
00:36:18
Well, like I said, second place, you know first.
00:36:20
You know the bride's maid.
00:36:21
You know e was a bridesmaid.
00:36:23
Never a bride.
00:36:26
He ain't first. You're last.
00:36:27
That's that's the late, great Ricky.
00:36:29
Bobby once said, if you ain't first, you're last shaking bank, uh, shaking bait.
00:36:37
All right, man.
00:36:39
Patriots fan over here.
00:36:40
I wanna get talked a little bit about Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
00:36:44
Big thing about them when their careers were eventually over.
00:36:47
Everybody, you know was talking about, um, once they split up, you know who needed whom.
00:36:51
Or did the Belichick make Brady to Brady? MK Belichick is a little bit of both.
00:36:56
What would they do? Separate from one another on separate teams? And now we're seeing both of the trajectories of the teams that there aren't going in totally different directions.
00:37:05
We have Tom Brady center five and two with the Buccaneers looking like an M V P Just through for what? Another four touchdowns.
00:37:11
There.
00:37:12
He and he had a rushing touchdown as well.
00:37:13
Three game before that, he played well again.
00:37:16
He had three or four touchdowns.
00:37:17
The yard is there.
00:37:19
The throws it there he threw this dime toe.
00:37:21
Was his name Miller on the corner of the end zone.
00:37:23
Everybody says he can't throw anymore.
00:37:25
I'm said Steve's gonna get into the cliff a little bit.
00:37:28
But, you know, that was finally finally was admitted wrong by our guy Max Kellerman and then, um, Bill Belichick on the Patriots.
00:37:37
Man, they just absolutely got manhandled by the 40 Niners.
00:37:41
Um, with running game, the Niners run game, they were just basically, that's one of the ways you don't wanna lose and get embarrassed that way is when somebody could just run the ball right down your throat.
00:37:50
Um, camps. Not playing well.
00:37:52
Every time camp throws, the ball is going into the dirt.
00:37:54
He's inaccurate.
00:37:55
Um, where do you see that man? Who do you? What's your answer to this? Because you're the pages guy you wanna follow.
00:38:00
This team is Do you have an answer to who's better with or without Brady? MK Belichick to Belichick, MK Brady? Or is it just kind of a product of, you know there's Nobody can help the Patriots right now, even the best coach of all time.
00:38:11
Anybody with Eyeballs knows that Tom Brady is winning this right now.
00:38:14
I mean, is Tom Brady playing with a Pro Bowl team down in Tampa Bay? Absolutely.
00:38:18
Just added Antonio Brown, which is Ah, better receiver than all the other guys that he's got.
00:38:22
God just got hurt, and the guy that you mentioned, Miller, which is like a practice string player, would be probably the best wide receiver on the New England Patriots right now.
00:38:30
Eso we can get into so many different factors about who's winning the situation, who's not.
00:38:36
I don't think any of us ever thought that the Patriots would be a better team without Tom Brady.
00:38:41
I think that we got a little smoke up our butts after that Seattle game where we saw Cam Newton come out and play a hell of a game and and all of a sudden we're like, All right now, like and I think a lot of the pundits were saying, Well, the Patriots are able to do different things that Tom Brady couldn't dio.
00:38:55
But the fact of the matter is, Tom Brady is the greatest of all time.
00:38:58
We all know that.
00:39:00
What what we did realize about the New England Patriots is they are the worst team as far as quarterback percentage.
00:39:07
Right now, they, out of the out of no talking about, can two touchdown passes on seven interceptions.
00:39:13
We have them at overall all their quarterbacks to combine or three touchdowns for with 11 interceptions.
00:39:19
Do I think that Cam Newton's maybe got a little covert fog going on post? Kobe, You know, maybe a little situation on that.
00:39:25
Yes, because this isn't the same player we start just a few weeks ago, but it's hard to argue that this game has been a lot easier with Tom Brady of leased from the Patriots standpoint.
00:39:36
But there's so many different issues with the New England Patriots right now, their defense is horrendous.
00:39:40
They had nine players opt out prior to the season because of the Kobe concerns.
00:39:44
So you're seeing a lot of the youth becoming starting to get a lot of issues with that.
00:39:49
They've had issues with practice time all year.
00:39:51
Just because you're getting a young team coming into ah different format now where they're not getting enough reps in the prior to the season and then they're taking off like six days during the week.
00:39:59
Shut down like five times. Absolutely so.
00:40:02
I'm not here to make excuses.
00:40:04
I still think Bill Belichick says the greatest coast of all time, making excuses.
00:40:07
No, I just think that it's an unfair comparison to make it this time just because we see what Tampa Bay has to present every week and we also see what New England as but as far as the quarterback play, Patriots are in a lot of trouble right now.
00:40:21
They played Buffalo this week.
00:40:23
Division could be over I I never thought that I would say is a Patriots fan that our division hopes would be over in October.
00:40:31
But it's looking like that right now, trending that way.
00:40:33
It's looking like that right now.
00:40:34
And, like you said, you guys had nine players opt out because of covert prior to the season.
00:40:37
And it's not like you just had nine average players opt out like you have some of the bigger names on that defense.
00:40:43
Opt out Dont'a Hightower, Um, Patrick Chung.
00:40:46
Two guys who have been with the Patriots organization for a while who have made big plays.
00:40:51
Who are the leaders on that defense who can communicate with the front end and the back end who have won Super Bowls.
00:40:57
You know, those those are key guys.
00:40:58
So you're also talking about a team that had cap issues that they and I'll say this like right off the bat, like Bill Belichick has not drafted well, and it's it's coming to a head at this point.
00:41:10
And with a team that worked last with tight ends last year, you figured that they were gonna make some sort of jump or try to figure it out they drafted tomb or rookie tight ends this week.
00:41:19
Year garbage They drafted to Kill Harry last year.
00:41:23
We all know that A.
00:41:24
J. Brown was drafted after him. D. K.
00:41:26
Metcalf was drafted out.
00:41:27
The Kill Harry is Nobody can't get open Kickette separation can't run routes correctly, like Come on like how hard is it to run a route correctly, like that's your job route.
00:41:38
I can't even say it.
00:41:39
I'm so frazzled right now like they have terrible running back player right now, like they have a they have a banged up offensive line like everything the Patriots have is a product of like not being able to draft.
00:41:50
And you could go back in the draft classes at least 56 years, and you could say, like, Who's that guy? They drafted a guy in the second round named Duke Dawson last year.
00:41:57
You know what Duke Dawson is right now? Practice What? Starbucks.
00:42:01
Not playing.
00:42:02
You could cut.
00:42:03
I don't know.
00:42:04
God knows where he is.
00:42:05
Drafted a running back last year and Damian Harris he's shown a little bit of life this year so far, But I mean, not much.
00:42:11
Sony Michelle, A couple of years ago, was the first round draft pick that they made.
00:42:15
He was even the best running back taken off his own team that year, coming out of Georgia.
00:42:19
So there's a lot of what if there's a lot of question marks and I think it has to do with a lot of right now like no other Patriots right now in a lot of quarterback trouble, because you don't know what Cam Newton is gonna go next year.
00:42:29
You clearly have no faith in Jared standing right now.
00:42:31
You're not gonna go to Brian Horror.
00:42:33
So you could be the conundrum where this could be something that you might be dealing with for a very, very long time right now.
00:42:38
Because as of right now, you're talking about Cam Newton coming out this week saying that my job's in jeopardy.
00:42:43
Well, if you feel like your job's in jeopardy with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer around you, you know you're in some deep, deep ****ing ****.
00:42:49
That's the mindset to that's like camp can.
00:42:51
I mean, I don't feel like camp can have that mindset.
00:42:54
He's a former MVPs.
00:42:55
Better the Super Bowl.
00:42:56
He's not obviously not the same player that he was.
00:42:58
But how can you come out with the mindset that you're gonna get benched or that your job is on the line, like, go out there and ****ing prove him wrong? But this has been the mind set up camp coming out of Carolina.
00:43:06
Like what? Times got bad.
00:43:08
You could only talk and say all the right things for so long that people are not going to start buying into like, your mojo.
00:43:13
You see, you see his body language when he's on the sidelines.
00:43:17
It's not that happy guy all of a sudden.
00:43:18
So right now, Yes, I think that's a product of the system, though, like the Patriot system.
00:43:23
Is that why he's not dancing? And like, Listen, I just think just losing in general, I just think e.
00:43:28
Brady Brady left last year because he was playing with crap.
00:43:32
And the thing at the beginning of the year was like, Oh, Cam Newton, succeeding with the same things that crap that Tom was winding about last year.
00:43:38
But now you're seeing that that crap is not that good anymore.
00:43:42
And they're becoming predictable when they're not thinking so.
00:43:45
Overall, let's not act like the Patriots aren't good.
00:43:47
Last year, I mean, they started the season 10 and one.
00:43:49
No, but the fact of the matter is they were good because the greatest of all time was stolen. Exactly.
00:43:53
But that's what that's what I'm saying.
00:43:54
And then, you know, for the people who wanted to say Brady was kind of kind of falling off because they didn't make it past the Titans in the playoffs and the kind of this was the end of him because he couldn't they didn't make it back to the Super Bowl.
00:44:04
It's just kind of laughable to May.
00:44:05
No, I was like, He's just been asking for weapons just and it's been every New year in New England.
00:44:10
Every year is like get this guy some weapons, get this guy some weapons and they just refused to do it.
00:44:14
Well, they tried to be a GM last year, or he tried to be a GM.
00:44:18
He wanted Mohamed Sanu.
00:44:19
We also happened when Mohamed's knew he wanted Antonio Brown.
00:44:23
We saw what happened with Antonio Brown, so Tom did get his way in some sort of some sort of idea last year.
00:44:29
It just didn't pan out the way that we wanted it to.
00:44:31
And unfortunately, you know, as he always said, that he already knew last year was gonna be the last year going into the last season.
00:44:37
So it's unfortunate.
00:44:39
Always be a Tom Brady guy. Always reform.
00:44:41
Obviously, with the Patriots standpoint, you hope that they can pick it up. They could get better.
00:44:45
This division is not over yet.
00:44:46
I'm not giving up on them yet.
00:44:47
They can. They can make a run at any point.
00:44:49
You never know their E.
00:44:50
Come on. It's the Buffalo Bills.
00:44:52
Like at the top was gonna bills the bills, the bills might bills.
00:44:55
So I mean you.
00:44:57
My thing is, if you beat the bills this week, all of a sudden a little of that moment.
00:45:02
Little Mo Jo way.
00:45:03
Always talk about the Patriots like you just wanna be playing their best football around Thanksgiving, and then you close out the season to do everything.
00:45:09
Are they in trouble right now? The problem with that, though, is the Patriots of old.
00:45:12
Even when they weren't playing their best football could still win games. Absolutely.
00:45:16
So they could go play their best football in November, but they were already ****ing 82 at that point.
00:45:21
And one.
00:45:22
You know what I'm saying? As a coach, you could only do so much, right? That's the personnel is gonna be able to do it.
00:45:26
They need to do out there on the field.
00:45:28
So I think that we all knew that Tom Brady was gonna have a better chance to succeed down in Tampa Bay this year.
00:45:33
Because with roster exactly what everybody wanted to debate, the fact would would be better without Tom.
00:45:41
Would Tom be better without Bill? I'd argue that a Jimmy Garoppolo was still the quarterback into a Patriots right now.
00:45:46
This transition would have been a lot easier for the Patriots, you know? So, yeah, what s right now? So right now, the Patriots need to find a way.
00:45:55
Jimmy G man, it is what it is.
00:45:57
Nobody hates on Jimmy.
00:45:58
Gee, I don't know why he saw he's He gets hurt really easy.
00:46:02
You know, you gotta be durable, develop good, though.
00:46:05
I mean, he's a product.
00:46:07
He's a product of the patriot system.
00:46:09
Oh, my God. Here we go. That's true.
00:46:11
I thought he's a product of Kyle Shanahan.
00:46:12
now anybody can run that system.
00:46:16
I mean, I guess what? That's what everybody says.
00:46:18
That's what I've been told is that you can throw any quarterback in the Shanahan system they're gonna do with Jimmy G. Did e.
00:46:24
My Ryan's a good quarterback.
00:46:27
He's. Did he ever won M v P? He was close.
00:46:30
Ryan's team sucks.
00:46:31
Yeah, now it does, because Kyle Shanahan's on the offensive coordinator.
00:46:35
That's the point.
00:46:36
Do you think pretty obviously gets another Super Bowl before Belichick does right? I think they go back to the Super Bowl this year.
00:46:41
I think Antonio Brown basically solidified their way to the Super Bowl.
00:46:45
If Tampa Bay is not in the Super Bowl this year, I will be stunned.
00:46:50
Will be absolutely started talking about God.
00:46:51
Would Evans, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski.
00:46:55
Come on.
00:46:56
Uh, get you getting me Ronald Jones? Yeah, Like like your defense is playing Defense is like the number one ranked defense in the league right now.
00:47:06
Like I would be stunned if if they're in the Super Bowl this year.
00:47:10
Yeah, well, we started.
00:47:11
I agree.
00:47:12
Do you think the mean looking at the NFC teams? They've already smashed the Packers you're then please Seattle yet it doesn't matter.
00:47:20
It doesn't matter.
00:47:22
There, There, on the fast track right now.
00:47:24
Tom Braver is Patrick moans.
00:47:27
Oh, man, I hope I hope so.
00:47:29
We're going to see if there is a regular season matchup between you coming up later in the season.
00:47:33
Is there okay, so we'll get a, uh, pretty homes.
00:47:38
Nice.
00:47:39
Alright, man.
00:47:40
Next thing we got to talk about NBA season, we're talking about it soon.
00:47:44
It's the season just ended two weeks ago, but we have all thought that the season was gonna take a little bit longer to get started.
00:47:51
Back up the 2020 2021 season.
00:47:54
Now it's looking like they're trying to set a date of December 22nd, um, to start the season.
00:48:00
It was reported by woes, um, and Shams.
00:48:03
Those guys doing their thing? Um, they reported it.
00:48:06
A lot of teams air.
00:48:07
Ah, unhappy with this? There's some teams that are happy with it.
00:48:12
Mostly, the eight teams that didn't make the bubble are very excited to get back.
00:48:16
The teams that made the bubble we just got done playing aren't excited to get back.
00:48:19
Teams are trying to get the MBA to lock down a set schedule because nothing is set in stone yet.
00:48:24
The only thing we really know is the NBA draft is November 18th.
00:48:28
But these teams are looking to get a thing, a schedule set in stone so they know when the draft is that no one free agency begins.
00:48:34
They know when, um, training camps gonna start on then eventually. No.
00:48:40
You know, when they when the season starts, Because it za little time to get your team to build a team in a month because, you know, every season is you get come.
00:48:48
Nothing stays the same.
00:48:49
Everything changes.
00:48:50
So now you gotta build a team, you gotta get guys, You gotta come to a new some guy's gonna move, they're gonna get to the area.
00:48:54
You gotta try toe, teach them a new system.
00:48:57
They're gonna learn new things.
00:48:58
Um, what do you think's gonna happen with the n b a man that Zack gonna be easy for these guys.
00:49:04
Not gonna be easy for these guys.
00:49:06
They're playing basketball.
00:49:07
They played basketball in the off season.
00:49:09
They had.
00:49:10
They had a good a long layoff between Cove in to be able to get their bodies readjusted.
00:49:14
They came back into a bubble where they didn't have to travel.
00:49:17
They didn't have to do that.
00:49:18
They had all these amenities for them at all times.
00:49:20
They they're fine.
00:49:23
They're athletes.
00:49:24
That's why you get paid the money, if up on the owners and on the league, with all the money that you lost the last part path, the last part of their like I'm trying to get these guys back on the court as soon as possible because they got TV deals to fulfill.
00:49:35
You're seeing that in some sort of formats, like you're starting to get fans and stadiums again.
00:49:39
So the hope is that once Koven is hopefully over at some point, or the fact that we have a vaccine and maybe maybe March April next year, maybe you could start having people enter arenas again.
00:49:50
The only way to be able to do that is to be able to get The season is quickly underway as you possibly can.
00:49:55
So for these guys to say like because there's some guys winding about it like this guy's like saying I'm not gonna even play right away. I'm gonna miss a month.
00:50:03
Well, LeBron said that right off the bat, like I think Danny Green was on a podcast and he said he was listening.
00:50:07
He goes, I know a lot of our team is gonna be there, but I highly doubt LeBron would be there for the first month of the season if they did start early.
00:50:13
Like boo hoo.
00:50:15
Dude like who? You guys get paid millions of dollars to go play basketball.
00:50:20
I understand you're tired. I understand anything.
00:50:22
But at the end of the day, like you got thanks to make up, you already getting a late start to the season, I think that we were all That's what they want to do.
00:50:29
They want to shorten this season as well.
00:50:30
We'll start at Christmas and shortness.
00:50:32
You're not gonna play it into a game, and we see it like it's kind of like the Thanksgiving football days, like we talked about this a long time ago when we were talking about restart updates like the Christmas Day basketball schedule seems like officially basketball's underway.
00:50:45
Because you're so distracted by the other sports that are going on, you're not really caring about that.
00:50:49
Much of the early season, maybe the first week, because it's back.
00:50:52
But after that, it's kind of like going through the motions of a long regular season.
00:50:55
I already heard that they were going to cut the 82 game season down to 72 anyways, so you're you're missing these other extra months, but you're not playing as many games as you were before.
00:51:05
Obviously, we don't know what the travel situation is gonna be, how they're going to set that up.
00:51:09
What is the matter is, if there was one league that did the bubble correctly, it was the MBA, so they wouldn't put the players in a precarious situation.
00:51:17
If they didn't, they wanna put him at risk.
00:51:19
They would do the right thing.
00:51:20
They MBA always gets it right, you know, and even now they're starting, you know, rumors, air coming out that that free agency moves already being made like signing trades have already been agreed upon.
00:51:29
But they can't be released or talked about because of a tampering reasons, because there's no not even if there's not even a salary cap yet.
00:51:35
There's nothing that's set in stone yet, so stuff can't even be so basically this season is off.
00:51:39
Season is already underway without without it officially being underway.
00:51:44
The embassies a window right now where they say to themselves, While we can get a lot of viewership at this point, if we come back right now, we don't have to compete against much.
00:51:54
People are yearning for it.
00:51:55
If we could get the players back and do what we need to do, then it's the right thing.
00:51:59
And I also would argue that it's actually more beneficial to teams that were in the bubble because at least they have some sort of chemistry coming off the rest part of the season where they don't need to go through a whole process of getting themselves re acclimated back to playing basketball again.
00:52:13
They're still now.
00:52:14
They're able to train because things aren't locked down anymore.
00:52:17
They're able to keep their bodies in shape.
00:52:18
I think that was the biggest thing that we worried about was how the conditioning would be for the players early on in the bubble once they got back, so they don't really gotta worry about that.
00:52:27
I'm assuming that the schedule will be a lot more spread out than it was before.
00:52:30
I don't know if they're gonna ramp it up the way it was.
00:52:32
It depends where they're gonna locate.
00:52:33
Have they talked about if they're gonna go back to home Arenas again? I haven't said anything, and that's the thing that the team is saying is the teams and the owners and everybody and the players are saying is like, give us something if you're not even telling us where we gotta be when we're gonna be here or one of the season's gonna start or when we can actually start training and playing basketball on getting back in our practice facilities, things like that.
00:52:55
None of this is set in stone.
00:52:56
So you're you're saying you want December 22nd to be the start date, But what about everything else that has to happen before that date? Like give us something, Don't make us, you know, flying blind here.
00:53:05
It's just funny because, like I'm watching, we're watching the Rays Dodgers game tonight.
00:53:09
We're watching Blake Snell pitch, and Blake Snell was one guy that was whining about not wanting to play and not do anything.
00:53:15
And here he is, pitching in Game six of the World, Syria's like nothing ever happened again.
00:53:18
So money, money talks.
00:53:22
And when it comes down to it, thes players have an obligation to their owners to be able to play.
00:53:27
If they don't wanna play, they don't get paid.
00:53:29
But the fact that matter is E I don't see the issue with starting on December 22nd if all the right protocols are in place and you're right, like the teams, obviously that were pointing the bubble.
00:53:38
They can't wait to get back.
00:53:40
They've been They've been laid off since March, you know.
00:53:43
So a lot of these guys want to start playing double the off season.
00:53:46
They have the longest offseason ever, so they're dying to get back, and I think that's where that's where the contrast comes from, right? It's the teams that were there and the teams that weren't there so half.
00:53:54
The league wants to do what they need to do, and the other half of the league wants to, you know, turn around and I'm like you said, It depends on what they're going to do.
00:54:01
Are they going to do another bubble like, how can they do another bubble like, how are they gonna do like you're not gonna put these players away from their families for that long again.
00:54:08
It's just not gonna happen.
00:54:10
So the only thing other than that is you're gonna go back Serena's.
00:54:15
Yeah, I I would also come up with the idea that it's kind of like what baseball is doing right now.
00:54:20
Like they formulated an idea like where they had two or three stadiums where they focused on like like certain teams pointing in certain areas.
00:54:28
I'm assuming that they confined three different venues through the course of the United States of America, where they can say All right, one third of lead goes there.
00:54:37
One third of the league goes there.
00:54:38
One third of the week goes there.
00:54:40
They play a collection of games, Then maybe they take a quarantine break and then they re focused.
00:54:45
They go to another, another zip code, and then they start doing things that that's the only idea that I have to, because I think the one possible I could see that.
00:54:52
I think the only because, like when it comes down to it like the biggest fear off, getting the disease is too much travel, right Mark going to different cities, you know, being out and about and doing that.
00:55:04
So I'm sure those players don't want to be stuck in a bubble again.
00:55:07
I'm sure that's what they're worrying about right now, thinking that they could possibly play playing the whole season down in Walt Disney again.
00:55:13
So they don't want that.
00:55:15
No, I don't believe him.
00:55:16
I wouldn't want that for that, too.
00:55:18
It's gonna affect another thing that is gonna affect basketball wise is they want the season, obviously, to shorten it to get it done in time.
00:55:24
You know, a normal time in June because next year is the Olympics.
00:55:28
So I can 100% guarantee you if this season does start early, there's gonna be a lot of guys opting out of those Olympic games next year.
00:55:36
Absolutely.
00:55:37
You know, the LeBron is probably not gonna play.
00:55:39
You know, these certain guys, you know, you might go back to that team like last year in the FIBA Americas Tournament, where it was like Jalen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Harrison Barnes e like the mice and the B squad over there, E.
00:55:53
I mean, the B squad is gonna be better than most of the war telling anyways, Maybe not anymore.
00:55:58
It's 2020 minutes late, 1991.
00:56:00
Yeah, but I mean, if the B squad is Jayson Tatum in jail with Brown these days, like you know, maybe now.
00:56:04
But they didn't fare too well last time, didn't they said they did.
00:56:07
They said the Big East college team like that was the last collection of that they did over overseas.
00:56:13
No, they went Thio last summer.
00:56:14
They had the feeble games.
00:56:15
It was like Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker, Jalen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Darin Fox.
00:56:22
So we'll see what happens with that.
00:56:24
Um, Steve Thursday night Football.
00:56:26
Panthers, Falcons, Panthers A.
00:56:28
Rates would have point favorite who you got.
00:56:31
I mean, if you're taking the Falcons in any format at this point, there on the roads, who don't think that matters their fans and Carol is probably fans of Carolina, so that might be a little bit of home field advantage.
00:56:40
Yeah, I I think I don't think Christian McCaffrey is gonna be.
00:56:42
I think he's practicing, but he's not gonna play.
00:56:44
But I'm not betting against Carolina at this point because it's they're playing.
00:56:49
Atlanta in Atlanta just finds ways to lose.
00:56:52
So e think I would like the over in that game if I had to take any better.
00:56:56
I don't know what the total isn't exactly, but if I had to take a bet, I would definitely take the over.
00:57:00
Matt Ryan outside the don't even going outside it don't matter.
00:57:04
You sure they'll be chasing that whole game? Yeah, that's true.
00:57:07
That's my idea.
00:57:08
They'll be losing most of the game, and then they'll be throwing the ball around trying to catch up just another raggedy ass Thursday night NFL game that everyone's gonna watch.
00:57:16
And like I said, like, that's your first opportunity and our first opportunity to There's so many good games, like if you go to Sunday like there's so every Sunday there's so many good games, Why not pick the best games to put in prime time like I don't get it? Because they should be able to flex games from Week B two on after you see what happens in Week one flexing because they can't flex games for Thursday night because all those players don't wanna play Thursday night games.
00:57:40
That's the one game that teams fear that they have to do, and every team is technically obligated to get a Thursday night game every year.
00:57:47
That's why it's so bad.
00:57:48
And the most important thing for them is that they have to make sure that those ****ty markets that have ****ty bum ass teams every year get that one prime time game.
00:57:56
Because that's what we have to deal with every day.
00:57:58
And they, like I said, like the numbers don't lie like people view in like so I mean, what do they really care at the end of the day? So DFS you want to go for a second? No.
00:58:08
D if if you wanna do DFS I don't know what I'm gonna do this week.
00:58:12
I'm gonna put my lineup about on Twitter.
00:58:14
It's the Bermuda Open.
00:58:16
It's kind of raggedy ass is Market would like to say tournament, I think.
00:58:19
Terrible ****ing tournament. Brendan.
00:58:21
Todd's of ****ing Brandon Todd is the odds on favorite to win so clearly you could tell that the field is pretty garbage, so we're not going to delve into it.
00:58:28
But if you want to go to my Twitter page this week S Lewis 5656 I'll definitely have my DFS plays there.
00:58:34
I'll definitely also have my I'll actually give you my my out rights right now.
00:58:39
It's just en Su 35 to 1, and it's Max home at 81.
00:58:43
So that would be my place this week.
00:58:44
You don't like it home? It sucks.
00:58:46
But in this field, that's the best value.
00:58:49
I could go down the board and find that a guy has a good shot, so we'll see.
00:58:53
But my definitely my strongest play this week is Justin.
00:58:56
So I definitely think people should definitely take a look at that and and trust it.
00:58:59
So there is e.
00:59:01

He's the CEO of statement games.
00:01:20
Um, which is a daily fantasy sports, but not your typical daily fantasy.
00:01:24
Sports has got a pretty cool twist on it.
00:01:26
Um, they're changing the game over there, so he's gonna come on on, then we're gonna get into our our normal spiel.
00:01:31
We're gonna do some swear jar, get into that segment and then, um, talk a little bit about the NFL and and MBA.
00:01:37
So you ready to do this? All right. Thought further.
00:01:41
Do I'm gonna bring on mark here and ah, welcome him to the show.
00:01:46
Hey, Mark. How's it going, man? Welcome to for the living.
00:01:48
How's it going man.
00:01:49
Thanks for having me excited to be here.
00:01:51
No problem, man.
00:21:17
Uh, anybody who's listening to the show and wants toe, you know, check out statement games.
00:21:22
Like I said, it's it's statement games dot com, But there's also APS to complimented.
00:21:25
You can find this by searching on statement against fantasy sports, whether it's Apple or Google play.
00:21:31
If you're listening to the show and you want to give the game of try if you play in this Thursday night's game, which is the Falcons in the Panthers?
00:23:23
But like you said, the numbers air theon.
00:23:25
We're kind of in your favorite still.
00:23:26
So everybody who's listening to this, you know, exactly, E get out there. Sign up.
00:23:33

00:23:36
Try to take some more marks money right now? Yeah, and like I said, it is a game.
00:23:40
I am not gonna start up.
00:24:26
I'm definitely gonna try it out myself on Thursday night.
00:24:29
All right, We'll go easy on me.
00:24:31
You know, you could get a couple of pics wrong.
00:24:32
You know, it sounds good.
00:24:35
Alright, Mark Danner, kid.
00:24:36
200 bucks is a lot of cash, especially if three people are winning.
00:24:40
Yeah, all right. Away.
00:24:44
Right.
00:24:45
Mark, I really appreciate you coming on the show, man again.

00:25:02
Look, guys, have a good one.
00:25:04
Go to All right, man, that was awesome, huh? Listen, we're gonna win e.
00:25:48

00:25:58

00:26:02

00:26:10

00:59:01
Let's wrap this up, man.
00:59:02

01:00:49

So if you want a chance to try to beat us is well, you could do that.
01:00:55
