And then we got Oh, we love that.
Oh, Connie, you are going to love to see the pain in my in my face is it's It was kind of that, um but in other news, like what? We'll say Sunday Night Football for the end.
But for Monday Night Football, we had the Chicago Bears, who are who walked in as one of the flukey ist feeling foreign one teams going against the Rams.
Who, you know also, you know, has had some great high moments.
But they've also had some moments where there often is kinda fell asleep on the wheel.
Um, but in this game, 24 10 victory by the Rams, this Bears offense just continue to see.
See, I'm not mad anymore because the bear stuck and I probably would have lost anyway.
Well, Connie, I don't know.
I will be honest with you, Connie.
Your parlays haven't been hitting, so I don't know if that partly Prince the name is going to stay.
Man, I don't know.
Hey, Anthony, if if you want to make your claim, make your case, come join the stream.
Hey, can't right now.
Way We talked about it before. No.
So that's why he's chime in in a comment, but real quick.
You know this offense, you know, it has an exceptional receiver and Alan Robinson.
It has, like, if you want to call it a red zone threat and Jimmy Graham, you know, how concerned should this bears offense be with the way that they've kind of produced with not having a single touchdown today, Michael.
How concerned should the Bears be with this offense? You know, I was just looking here over the whole stats from the whole night.
Nick Foles had 40 attempts, and I know looking back through there that they were down early and often, so I mean, they did have to pass the ball quite a bit.
But, you know, I looked back and I think back last year with Travis Kiesa quarterback throwing 40 to 50 times in games, and they just got away from the run on. I'm looking here in Montgomery.
Onley rushed 14 times.
Patterson, who is a wide receiver, rushed three times.
This team's got to stay true to who they are.
Run the ball first past second folds is a gun slinger.
Yes, I get that.
But I mean this offense, just sometimes it looks dull.
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys offense.
I just have to say that, but Alan Robinson, he's a great wide receiver.
Four or four catches for 70 yards today.
Hey, kills me because I always have him on my fantasy team.
Every time I start him, he sucks.
I mean he still had 70 yards.
He did pretty good.
He had 11 fantasy points, but there's no touchdowns, you know? And then when I sitting, he usually has this great game.
So, yeah, I don't want to jump off the bandwagon yet because the Bears are still have a good record, I think.
What? They're four and two now.
After the loss today, five and two, I think five and 25 and two.
And I think rounds air now five and two.
So I don't think I've ever seen in history of any sport a team be undefeated and make a quarterback switch and then the quarterback that they switched to lose the very next game.
So it's interesting to see what they say from here or what they do.
Because Stravinsky is.
I think it was three.
And oh, so now, uh, folds is what, two and or I'm sorry.
Wanted to Yeah, s 02 and two, maybe.
Yeah, about 500.
Blow two and two.
You paid the money for him to be back up and be the guy at the end of the year, which is what you've done, but do you go back to trap risky and say that you messed up? I don't know.
So yeah, I mean, I'm definitely a little worried on this.
Yeah, And then, uh, I'll pull up.
Philips watches comment on here.
Thanks for jumping on here, Philip.
Um, and we'll talk about this in a second.
But Matt, what? What is your concern with this Bears offense in general? Um, it zits classic bears.
I mean, you look at they trust too much and Nick Foles and watching that game, it was a simple Nick Foles game.
He would have some bright flashes, but then he would throw some boneheaded interceptions like those two picks that he threw one of them, especially in, like double coverage for Graham straight to jail in rams.
That you knew that was gonna happen, because that's just the way the way the cookie crumbles for for for this Bears offense, you know, they're they're a team that's reliant on their defense and it and it shows they win games based off their defense, and that's about it.
It sucks for Alan Robinson because he's such a talented receiver.
If you put Alan Robinson on any other team besides Chicago, he flourishes like I'm talking 12 1200 yards, double digit touchdowns like keep Flourishes into one of the better receivers in the NFL.
But because he stuck with Chicago with two not so good quarterbacks, you know his his stat line shows that he had four catches, 70 yards, zero touchdowns.
He put him anywhere else.
He's successful, but overall, the Bears offense.
I love what, Philip? What Philip set they should future month, every more. And they should.
They should be Mawr more of a team.
That's that's a run.
That's a more of a run heavy team and, you know, play good defense.
You know, that's how that's how the team is built.
Why would you try to make it different? I think they're trying to be more pass worthy just to show why they put in.
Nick Foles replaced falls for Stravinsky just because falls how that magic moment when he came back against a mediocre Atlanta Falcons team.
So they're simply that's That's what I think.
I think Matt Nagy and the GMR basically say we gotta pass the ball with false to prove that we made the right decision in benching Travis Key when even though Tavisca was three.
You know you have Nick Foles.
You're just a 500 team two and two so and kind and like what Michael said. He's right.
They are stuck in a pickle because you bench you benched Robiskie, even though your 30 But how you gonna go back to him when you have a highly paid, back up quarterback who's who's just 500? It's very.
The Bears are in a very tricky situation, and granted, they are five and two, which which is a which is all record.
And, you know, I'm gonna use the famous quote.
Yeah, there may be a fluky five and two team, but you have to play the way how your schedule goes.
And if you're five and two, you're setting yourself up in a in a great position, and you know it will be interesting to see how Chicago bounces back.
I mean, you look at when they play legit teams, they start to crumble.
When they played the Indianapolis Colts, they only had 11 points when they play the Los Angeles Rams, a competing team in the NFC 10 points.
So it's kind of one of those.
What kind of team are the bear is gonna be? Are they gonna be a team that, Oh, they beat up on the on the little guys? But when it comes to the big dogs, they crumble.
Kind of like the Dallas Cowboys last year when they would beat up on all the meddling teams in the NFC East.
But when it came to heavier competition, like New Orleans or Green Bay or Buffalo, even they would they would fall.
So for Chicago, that was just a regular game. They couldn't.
They can't, they can't keep up.
And the grand he says, Honestly, weird midget trash to you.
But I think they should go back to him.
That's That's definitely an interesting take.
I think I think they might write it out with fools.
I think they'll do whatever it takes Thio to ride out with Nick Foles.
Just because you look atyou benched Robiskie, and that's kind of it.
I mean, I think the only time you put in Travis Key is if Foles has like a game where he has six pass attempts in three picks or he gets hurt.
Other than that, I think they're just going to stick with the fold.
But if I'm Chicago, I'm not as concerned.
Now my Green Bay Packers air a number one in the NFC North, which is fantastic.
But I think you have to look at the record five and two and you're you're still in good position.
Obviously, you've got other teams, the NSC competing like the Rams, like Arizona now, which we will discuss later on in the stream.
Also Seattle in New Orleans.
Teams that are competing up there and you just have to take this loss and kind of see where to go from there as an offense, defense did everything they could.
But just as the offense, you've got to find a way you gotta either incorporate the run game or or just simply tell Nick Foles.
Look, man, you got to play better else. We're gonna replace you.
Yeah, and I also I also go agree with Philip here with Connie.
That's why you don't move off of your young starting quarterback so early.
I agree with him.
True whiskey is then in Chicago.
He's had more than enough opportunities.
He continues to show that he kind of has the Marcus Mariota approach of, like, you know, I won't force the issue, because now I'm scared of making it a turnover.
I think he did get that into his head.
A Z, you know, you watch, you know, NFL quarterbacks.
You watched Jack. You watch my homes.
They make some of those gutsy throws when they trust the receiver, and they have the arm talent to get it done.
And, you know, true whiskey hasn't shown that.
And I know they were trying to be a little bit stubborn, but also trying toe prove that.
Oh, you know, Trotsky was worth giving up all these assets toe draft him.
But at some point, you do have to just say I need to just Okay, I need to drop this like it is what it is.
Whiskey didn't work out and move forward before you lose your job.
Um, but real quick, also, with what Philip said about, you know, Nagy should feature Montgomery more.
That's been the story since last year.
I'm so blown away that Montgomery doesn't get more looks.
I mean, he's a He's a a great running back.
Statistically doesn't look fantastic.
But he has the potential to be the running back that paces offense.
And, you know, the offensive line is always a question.
Uh, with the bear since Kyle along, uh, had retired they mentioned in the Chicago as well.
I just think it's yeah, sorry for this season.
They should go back if you want a chance at winning.
Uh, I don't know.
I don't know if I agree with that, but naturally, calling to me has also been terrible.
Why would you go to, uh, Cordarrelle Patterson? Your special teams like Swiss Army knife of, ah, weapon on third down and one or fourth down in one when you have David Montgomery.
That to me is just like I don't get it.
But my glorious name.
Well, I was gonna talk back with the quarterbacks, but with you bringing that up, I really want to keep going with that.
Because I've seen that Maurin this week alone.
More wide receivers and tight ends running, then.
Ah, lot of running backs in certain situations.
I'll even see quarterbacks.
Well, I won't get into too much of the Philadelphia Eagles and, uh, Giants game, but there was numerous of times where its 3rd and 1/4 and one where they ran a quarterback sneak and it was There's a difference in a one yard and a one yard.
So I mean, I just feel like these players whence e.
I guess I need to quickly went into a P.
Of course, Connie's in here for that, but I just feel like coaches air trying to get to creative sometimes, and they just need to dumb it down a little bit.
Just say, Okay, keep between the tackles handed off to a guy Air six.
We're gonna be stronger in your six in the trench and let's just get a first down.
Three plays first down, three yards, three or three yards.
You just got to get a little extra yard on one of those downs.
I just don't understand it, because if you go pass heavy like they have done for the past two years and gets ourselves trapped where you have to continue to be passed heavy, which gives your defense ah better or the opposing defense a better time to or a better way to strategize against you, you're not gonna be able to run it so you take away that perspective of the game where they rush three, they blitz some, they play the zones and they just wait for the past.
I mean, and I even look here, too.
He got sacked four times, threw two interceptions.
I mean, it sounds like the Rams defense for just on two.
I'm trying to think of the player.
I cannot think of his name that used to play for the Bears.
I see the picture where they gave him the game ball because he basically just ran through the through the line.
And I think he had one of the sacks.
Let me see if I can look that up while I'm going with it, but I just feel like we need to quit getting so much trickery with our offense.
If if you need one yard, just give it to your back.
That's what he's there for, to run the ball and get yardage.
So, yeah, I've only seen a few teams kind of be effective with those motion kind of get the guys in space like the Rams do that a lot with Robert Woods.
Feelers have been doing that with Claypool.
Like some teams have been able to make it be successful.
But I agree. Sometimes.
Just give it to your back, have your trust in your line and just, you know, trust your running back toe toe to get that one yard.
You know what I mean? Mhm.
What are your thoughts on? Nagy is play calling? Well, I mean, before I get to Matt Maggie's play play calling.
I thought Chase Clip was Maple Tron.
Isn't that what was his name? I thought I thought you gonna go by Maple Tron instead of Claypool.
But that's all good anyways with Matt, with Matt Nineties play calling it Z, one of those where it's probably one of the better coaches that that the Chicago Bears I've had in a while.
I mean, it's no disrespect when Lovey Smith was there, or even Marc Trestman, but look at Nagy even even in his first year in Chicago, winning 12 games next year.
Obviously, a down here, but first play calling.
He just he just needs to trust.
He needs to trust his running backs more.
He just needs to trust the run game you have you have given Montgomery, who shown flashes you have a speedster and Terry Cohen, who could because, well, it through and even possibly utilizing the passing game.
You just You just have to trust your weapons.
More like you can't.
You can't just be reliant on Nick Foles or Thomas Key.
Whoever is the quarterback and trying to get into Alan Robinson, that's just not going to be successful.
You can't You can't just rely on that being an option.
I hope Nagy opens up the playbook more and has more variety.
And and what you guys mentioned having a 3rd and 1/4 and one handed off to your special teams guy in Cordele Passion.
That's just ridiculous.
There's a reason why he's a special teams guy because he doesn't run on plays on a 31 or fourth of one.
You give that to your ground and pound bruiser of a back and David Montgomery, and maybe maybe Matt Nagy doesn't trust Montgomery, but then, if he doesn't trust Montgomery, why would you even draft him in the first place? You know it is just one of those situations, and I really think Cohen's gonna be gone this year, really threw a wrench into the offense Well, yeah.
And also, Nagy just doesn't know how to utilize them.
And it is a situation where, if if maybe their chances and paste Guys Patterson.
Now I know exactly what you want.
Like you hoped Cohen was a guy who could be that, but it doesn't really look like it.
And so I'm gonna ask you a quick question here.
Sorry to interrupt you there.
Do you think Nagy? Even though they are five and two, that his job, maybe close.
Or at least he's in the hot seat a little bit here Here, Because here's what I will say.
If he collapses, has a meltdown and misses the playoffs.
I think truly his job is on the line just because you look at they traded all those assets.
Even though Nagy wasn't there, they treated all those assets to get Robiskie.
And when they got Nagy, they're like, Okay, Nagy is gonna be the guy that could that could mold Robiskie into a nice mobile quarterback.
And it looks great.
His first year there they went 12 and four, and true whiskey had the third highest passer rating in the NFL from a quarterback and he scrambled a lot more and look better.
And ever since, that's ever since the double doink.
It's It's been downhill very fast from that offense.
And, uh, now if the Bears make the playoffs this season, I don't think they move on from Nagy just because.
Why would you move on from when he made the playoffs two times in his first three years? But I think if he if he melts down this season like they're five and one before before this game, if they falter Thio, eight and 89 and seven missed the playoffs and just wheels fall off.
I think I think you might have toe put him into consideration, because, I mean, you look at Eric.
The enemy could be, uh, coaching option next season.
You could also have the college ranks.
If Lincoln Riley doesn't want to be in Oklahoma anymore, you could look at him as an option.
So I think I think it all depends on how Chicago finishes the season.
Yeah, well, that you, Alex? Yeah.
And then let me just read Connie's for quick.
I don't think they should fire him, because I think everyone knows the quarterback is a problem on like the Jets were coaching is the main reason they suck.
I think this is mostly on the quarterback.
Yeah, also. Yeah, I know.
I mean, I I think he'll be on the hot seat.
I don't think he'll lose his job, but I Let's see the Felt Bears management has shown that they're willing to stick to one guy.
For example, Lovey Smith.
I'm interested in kind of watching how this team collapses.
His help me on the hot seat.
I don't think he will get fired, but I think how he maneuvers through because I think true risk is gone after this year.
They didn't accept his fifth year.
Onda Nick Foles is basically signed.
So you basically got a either try to find a young guy to groom or hope that Nick Foles pans out, which has kind of been a, you know, like lightning in a bottle every once in a while.
So well, he get fired.
No, If they collapsed, I don't think so.
I think he'll be on the hot seat.
They'll kind of like like Connie said, they'll cut him some slack.
But ultimately, I think this Bears team is kind of set up for, for for failure.
I mean, when when he did have Cohen, he didn't try to get him the ball in space like he did when they went 13 and three.
He didn't give Cohen the opportunity to be the playmaker.
Uh, Ken Cohen Be the change of pace guy? Absolutely.
But if Maggie isn't putting his running backs in a position to be successful, that's where they're going to be.
And I think that's why Nagy is kind of getting some of that slack is because this play calling in because of his decision making like this game, got out of hand and the offensive place election was just atrocious for being honest, like, didn't put his team in a position.
Toto win, Obviously.
Hey, the pass rush from the Rams was getting Thio Falls.
Offensive line was folding, but overall, some of the place he was calling it just it was just a waste play.
It was it was tough to watch on some of those drives.
Yeah, and I highlighted.
I kind of looked at two key plays, a difference maker between a winning type of quarterback right now and a losing type of quarterback.
Jalen Ramsey got beat.
He got beat on a double move when the receiver went like boom, boom wide open, any other quarterback would have made that throw.
What does Falls Dio overshoots him? That's an easy touchdown.
And then even on one of the final place of the game one, I'm not sure what what receiver it was, but another guy beats Ramsey again.
And what does Nick Foles do under throws them and those to the left? So you look at the Bears, the Bears air, just simply a team where if Nick Foles could hit a throw or two.
I mean, we're talking a different ball game instead of 24 to 10.
Could be 24 24 we're looking at different ball game.
But because Foles just isn't really it and he's missing throws, the Bears are just kind of stuck with relying on that defense.
Yeah, what scares me about it is let me go back to it real quick and the next seven games.
The Bears play only two people or two teams that are under 500 so I feel like their schedules even pretty tight.
They've got Saints next Tennessee Titans after that.
And I think that would be the quickest game ever cause Chicago should start running the ball and Tennessee already does it.
That should be the wind.
They play Green Bay.
That should be a win, right, chief? That's a fat, a fat for the Bears.
They prayed Detroit, which is a 500 team and then Houston.
And then they finished out again with the Minnesota. I'm sorry.
So there's three out of the seven.
So I think they have a chance of being under nine wins because I think Detroit may come back.
They've turned around.
Just attach right there.
E, I think Detroit Mints that next game.
So I look at him on Lee, finishing with eight wins.
Yeah, and Phillips. Question.
If the Bears finished seven and nine, where to? Chicago.
Go at quarterback, giving false contract.
They're gonna just have to keep playing folds until they bring in somebody who can either compete or someone they're going to groom for the long term.
But, you know, the tough thing here is does Nagy feel like he has kind of the breathing room? Took have time to groom a quarterback.
So, Yeah, I know the this Bears team is gonna be something to keep an eye on this offseason, depending how they finished.
Like if they do finish 7 to 9, it's gonna be a very hot seat.
And I think his his leach is gonna be very short next year.
Who's gonna be the quarterback is Dak Prescott.
Whoa! You think if that goes to Chicago, I'm not? No.
If if Dad goes to Chicago as a Packer fan, I might be slightly concerned when we played the Bears. Now.
Well, now I know I don't wanna go over to the talking cowboys, but that's what everyone does on every show, it seems like, but if I'm Dak Prescott and the Cowboys lose, like, crazy like they are looking like they're gonna be doing when I come back, I either say, Jerry, you owe me the Brinks truck, back it up and drop every penny you got on me.
Jerry is gonna say, son, you're hurt.
We ain't seen you play since the injury. We can't do that.
That's gonna say, I guess I'll go elsewhere and play for cheaper and be fine with that because you all need me.
Yeah, unless they hit him with a franchise tag again, which would be a huge wrench in that.
But I'm not letting him walk either.
I think they would franchise tag him now.
He cannot sign it, right? Yeah, but he would.
He would have to miss the season.
Yeah, he definitely He would be like a free.
He would be unrestricted free agent, I believe.
And then some team will have toe maybe sign them or or what? Alex said he would just have to simply miss the season e.
I don't think he would actually do that.
I don't think Dad would dio.
It's a little different.
Her running back, then a quarterback.
He e think he's too nice of a character.
He really isn't a guy kind of like a diva like he really isn't like an Antonio Brown or Olive Ian Bell.
Well, he will stifle the team.
That will just simply be a guy where he'll he'll say what he wants.
If he wants it, he's going to stick with it.
If he doesn't, so be it.
Give me a franchise tag.
I'll prove you wrong.
You know, he was on his way to doing that before his injury, He was single handedly putting the Cowboys on his back.
I mean, I was one of those guys who was like, Wow, like, if that's what he wants his money, he really has toe play hard for And we're seeing how badly the Cowboys are without Dak.
It's kind of put a perspective in my mom, possibly saying like, the Cowboys might actually have to pay this guy what he wants because, I mean, they're pretty bad, like it's it's hard to watch.
Like if you look at a pair of Cowboys, let's just stay off the Cowboys.
Yeah, So there's the last thing I'll say about the Cowboys if you compare the Jets to the Cowboys.
What everybody thinks.
Look, no, no, it's not.
No, it's not for being honest, like the Cowboys Cowboys situation.
Look, at the end of the day, Dak would have kept him in some games.
That would would have got him to win some games.
That roster configuration is so ****ed up like honestly, like I wouldn't even say it's it's similar.
I just I can't it is there you, after a couple of drinks on the Saturday night.
Just no, because I'm not a disaster like we've got a like on Facebook.
But let's let's let's get out of the Cowboys conversation.
Switch it over. The Rams.
This NFC West division is insane.
Seahawks five and one, Cardinals five and two, Rams four and two and 40 Niners four and three.
What a division like every single team in this division is buying for, Ah, playoff berth or or to secure the division.
I mean, the division is not that far out for any of these teams, so it's going to be on Perry bringing it back.
We'll see nothing compared to the NFC East.
Yes, that division E L L N f c N f c least it's it's crazy.
When I saw that the Washington football team, as of last week, was one game out of the first round pick and one game out of the division like that, that is crazy.
But again, that's that's that.
That's that nice little That's the cool thing also.
I mean, it sucks because you would like to see the competitive teams make it, but it's kind of like I kind of like the fact that you're you could be in a ****ty division and still get out of there to get a playoff berth like it's just like Like how I always say it's the way the cookie crumbles.
Like it's unfortunate like that one of these NFC West teams Or, you know, one of these a f C North teams because there's three teams vying for a playoff spot might miss it, whereas, like the Cowboys or the Eagles or the washing football team, maybe even the Giants could make the playoffs.
So that's always something to keep an eye on.
But for this ramps team, I I definitely had the Rams finishing 40 Niners finishing second.
I have changed my stance on that.
I think the Rams finished, and so I I've already come out and said, The foreigners gonna finish in last place.
This they are in last right now, exactly, but I think they're injury.
Bug is just having a battle.
Injuries with a tight division, even for like the Cowboys, the fact that they lost Andy Dalton, It just really makes them kind of vying for that like desperation playoff spot.
Even tougher, you know, hopefully, Andy dollars.
Okay, that was a nasty hit.
I mean, this Rams team that was dirty hit this Rams offense.
I I like the way that they're going.
It kind of seems like McVeigh went back to the offensive two years ago.
Uh, they continue to mix up there running back usage.
You know, Darryl Henderson.
Malcolm Brown's had a couple games where he's had some high usage.
I just think this this, you know, offense is kind of getting back to where it was when they were successful, and the defense is playing its part.
I think the Rams could get second place in this division.
Honestly, what what? What are your initial thoughts on the ramp so far, Matt? I think I think the Rams are.
Look, the Rams look much better than last year.
Last year, the Rams were disaster.
They made a desperation trade to get Jalen Ramsey, and it backfired.
Last year, Grant, they finished with mind winds, but it was not enough.
This year it's a totally different Rams team.
Going into the season that I thought this was gonna be a Rams team that was gonna be like a 500 teams.
Like all those teams where, like they went all in on Ramsey.
They don't have cap space.
What are they gonna do? They just lost talk early, Lost on, say, feller.
So many lost these long.
Just like whatever rams gonna do.
And so four through seven weeks, five and two, that's That's a pretty **** good record, but the energy West is a tough division.
I mean, you look at even the cardinals or making a run at it.
I mean especially, I mean, I'm not sure if we'll talk about the Cardinal Seahawks game, but you know it'll be one where the Cardinals had a statement victory against against the Seattle Seahawks.
But yeah, Todd Gurley situation What? Mess? Up the ramps, that issue.
And I think there will be a lesson.
Tail toe, never never pay players big contract, big guaranteed contracts if you're going to release him after two years because you look at what? When they first signed Brandon cooks, they gave him five years, 80 million.
What happens? He gets caught.
And now they have to eat up his dead cat money.
Same situation with Todd Gurley.
They pay him this big money even though he's got a need problem now.
They released when they got to eat up his dead money.
So I think the Rams, even though they're five and two, which is a small world record and they're still in the running for the division a couple of years down the road, they're gonna be looking at what they had and said, Maybe we should not.
Maybe we shouldn't have extended Todd Gurley.
Maybe we shouldn't have extended golf or get that big money contract to cooks when we could have just saved our money when we had to pay them hot when we had to pay them, then pay them because you're looking now.
They don't have Cory Littleton, who's now on the Las Vegas Raiders.
And if it comes to a point where later on the season you need that big name linebacker to make a stop, who's gonna be there? And obviously you hope the ranch can keep it up, but it is a very tough division.
And San Francisco? They had a big win over the New England Patriots, and they're starting their slow slowly but surely starting to get healthy.
That Seahawks rams cars like that za good order, But we look at even though the Niners, I mean, they look, they look good against New England and if they if they start to get healthy, if Coleman returns to form granted, they won't have Bosa or Solomon Thomas rest this season.
But they're injured.
Players could get healthy and full of form, especially on that offense.
The Niners are still gonna be a team to not sleep on on.
You said they're gonna be a last place team.
I don't know about that.
I mean, I know the Cardinals are on a good run, but at some point they might fall back down to reality and simply say, I think the Cardinals are a year away.
But you know, when when we discussed the Cardinals Seahawks game, I'll obviously state how it was a big one for the Cardinals.
But overall, for the Rams as a whole.
Great winning, Yeah, spoiler overall for the Rams.
Solid wind keeping up in that tight NFC West division.
And you know, obviously it's sad that possibly one of these teams who has 10 or 11 wins might miss the playoffs because the NFC East winner could have eight or nine wins on a good day.
Maybe, But, you know, it just shows how important winning a division really is.
You know the priority on winning the division is very key.
And when the Rams have to play against the Seahawks, the Cardinals and the Niners, those games they're gonna be that much more.
But overall, solid wind and let's see if they could keep it up the rest of the season.
Yeah, and then real quick.
Michael, Before you say something, Matt, I do want to point out where he most it is on the I r Jeff Wilson just got a high ankle sprain.
That's one of those injuries for running back that really hinders their ability.
Toe Thio make quick cuts.
And, you know, as we saw this past week, you know, they didn't use McKinnon.
They gave Wilson the ball.
He had a heck of a game's just a shame that he unfortunately gonna have to miss some time.
But yeah, I just think in my opinion, the reason that I have the foreigners down, I think they they're still very talented team.
They're still gonna get a lot of gritty wins.
I just think the injury bug, it's brutal toe lose both the and Thomas and have most missing multiple games in two different times.
I just think it's just the unfortunate situation of being in a fully competitive division, because I mean, if they were in the NFC East, you know they would be in first place.
So yeah, it's just their luck that they're in a division that is on the on the rise on also Chan and also Super Bowl hangover Soup bowl appearance.
Whenever we see those teams make a Super Bowl, sometimes they fall off.
Coleman is gonna be back this week.
Rap. I think he came off the hour.
Yeah, I I think he is.
Foreigners could be sneakily get in a good spot that all.
Then just get a better draft pick.
That would be the same Boast a situation where Garoppolo tours a CEO week three.
What happens? They go four and 12 They pick up a beast and Nick Bosa, and next year they make it to the suitable.
So, yeah, they're they're windows closed.
No, If if I could give my predicts on on the way they finished.
Think Seahawks will be one.
I'm gonna go with cards at number two, then rounds and 40 Niners.
Uh, just because I think Rams got a few games in this, the rest of the schedule is gonna be tough for them, actually have.
But I won't say have I think Dolphins could be a sneaky team for him next week, looking on ahead to the Seahawks and just let the Dolphins, who have been looking pretty nice here lately, come up, get to a town.
So we don't know what to expect there.
Ryan Fitzpatrick will be signing with the Cowboys very soon, I hope.
Uh, So let me pull it back up.
One thing that I I'm liking about the Rams is that where they lost girly? They off some of these big guys, but they're replacing them, not with just one guys.
There are one man, one halls, and they're trying TV out.
Is that a word? Deviate.
They're trying to divide out the workload.
You know Henderson, who is a good runner back 15 carries, 64 yards.
Malcolm Brown 10 on Lee had 10 carries for 57 yards and then we talk about this again with three.
I'm sorry, two wide receivers with five carries, but they still had over 40 yards between the two, So I'm liking the rims.
I do think there a year out golf is definitely stepped up this year to show us that he is legit.
Still started a little slow.
I think it's just a lot of reps that we didn't get during the preseason games and all that stuff, so I just took them little time.
The Dallas game was probably close.
If they played now, Dallas would probably get blown out, just to be honest with you, but I do like the Cards offense.
I think they're scary there.
I mean, they have two of the best wide receivers in the game of all time. Almost.
You got fits in Hopkins, who I'll say right now.
I won't go all time because that could have a debate in itself.
But I Basically, if you get a ball into those two direction of a probably a 10 ft radius, they're going to somehow catch it.
And uh, Kenya Drake, I think, just wrote his ankle this game.
He was out second quarter.
He possibly may miss a week or two.
We don't know exactly yet.
I think they did report that he could miss some weeks.
So I do think this is a great chance for Edmunds to step back up.
He had a wonderful game.
He's definitely in the passing game, But I actually think they started playing him or to the run.
He actually averaged last year.
I think six yards per carry before he got hurt in the first, like to U S.
So I think this is a chance to have him back to what he could do instead of having him being that third down guy.
So I actually think the card's gonna benefit.
I won't say benefit.
That sounds bad, to say benefited from It might be the truth, right? I I don't know why all the experts at the beginning of your fantasy wise had Kenyan Drake being like this.
Top 10 guy Drake has been nothing, really.
He's touched down her bust as a starting running back.
Edwin's has got more points than him.
If you take away touchdown, so I like it.
Um, it's like anyone one of my fantasy teams and he was already in starting lineup as the two back.
So I'm excited that I could play him as the one back this week.
Hopefully, and and Michael, I love.
I love the point I made on the Cardinals being a number to a second place team in the NFC West, and you're perfectly right.
They have a great would you expect from my professional.
Michael is a professional expert.
Yeah, here, like even their scheduled right after their bye week, They have four legit games where they could possibly fall.
They got the Seahawks, box, Niners and the Arizona Cardinals.
Those next four weeks.
I think, for the ramps, I think, depending on how they shape out those first four weeks, that could be, ah, make or break season for the rails.
What's next? Four games? If they go on and win those next four teams, then, man, they might have a legit chance of making a suitable run.
If they split the two.
Maybe they might sneak in the playoffs, but if they go on a four game losing streak in that portion of the season, you might kiss a playoff spot goodbye and also even even with two of playing Week eight, we've seen rookie quarterbacks make their debut starts, and they light it up.
Look at Justin Herbert against the Chiefs, his debut start.
Do forward 100 plus yards.
Granted, they have no, uh, film to try to understand what's gonna go on.
What to try. Thio.
Implement your defense.
It's no scout, basically no scouts, and it's a healthy to uh, it isn't a banged up to talk about a little.
And last time we saw a fully healthy to, uh, he led Alabama to the national championship game.
So you know it'll be interesting to see what happens, how the Rams finish out this season.
But you make a really good case with the Arizona Cardinals potential being second place in the NFC West.
Maybe you could even make a case.
I mean, I know it's crazy, but you might make a case for them being first winning the NFC West, because now they now now they have a game on Seattle because those head to head matchups are key.
Could you imagine if the Arizona Cardinals sweep the Seahawks this year and they end up with the same record but Arizona wins because of the tiebreaker.
And the division like you, could make a good case that even the Cardinals have a legit chance at a run in the division.
Yeah, no, definitely.
Well, waken jump into the sea Hawks and Cardinals game Sunday Night football.
We're going to do it really quick just to get out of here a C Alex, After looking at that beard, I think we might have to make a facial hair bet on blitz, boys.
Uh, no, Connie, I don't play with my facial hair.
You may you may be able to shave your mustache, but that's because you don't have anything else.
Did he really Shavit e like twice? Yeah.
Yeah, I mean that that that that division is going to be something that is gonna be fun to watch the end of season.
Like like Matt said those those divisional games, they're gonna make a huge difference.
And cardinals already beat the 40 Niners.
They already beat PC Hawks.
You know, that's definitely a lot more to go.
But for that Sunday night football game, I'm just gonna say it that that game was tragic for me because it costs me money on parlays.
But again, that's why.
Par laser what they are.
That's why they pay so much.
Because it's very unlikely.
I I hear that violin in my head.
Doing on, you know, brutal, brutal, brutal loss for the Seahawks.
I mean, they had a they had the lead, but they were leading by 10 I believe at the end of the third or the meaning of the fourth.
So it was, you know, at one point kind of slipping out of their hands.
With Carson being out getting injured, he might be ableto to get back there and mats also doing something.
I can't see it fully.
I was I was just moving.
Moving my I thought you were trying to the violent thing Shoot.
I was like, I had a violin.
Whatever it calls the arm part.
I could I could, but no, I was just I was just fixing my lines up, moving down a long story short.
This this Cardinals team, I mean, they're a resilient bunch.
You know, DeAndre Hopkins has got to be the move of the of the of the off season.
You know, he's definitely been great for Kyler. Murray.
You could that one play where College, where DeAndre Hopkins was on single coverage and Kyler Murray ****ing smiled when he threw it to him.
I mean, that just tells you how great it is for him to have such a reliable receiver.
And that's not a knock at Larry Fitzgerald or Christian Kirk, for that matter.
I just think you know Larry Fitzgerald.
Just not that that dominant force he once was in his prime.
But to have these three receivers have, you know, Chase Edmunds and Kenyan Drake.
I mean, Kyler Murray has an offense that he has shown he's been able to score the ball with its the defense that has been questionable.
And the defense came through against what looks to be a possible one of the leading candidates for the M V P. Discussion.
Um, but that's it for my spiel.
I'm just gonna play this clip.
I hope Connie still on because I know he wanted to see this.
Uh, it's taking a moment of silence for this.
I'm gonna go ahead and play this right? Don't hit play yet.
just so you guys know that Is Alex without a hat? Yes, that is hilarious. Clarify.
This is that this is full on.
I think in Pittsburgh, they call them Windsors.
Well, the funny part is like like I have the Steelers jersey on.
But this is like the end of the day center that football.
But my hat is off, Michael, because I'm really stressed.
I wanted that money.
I'm about to go on a trip.
So you know any any extra funding would help enjoy so context.
The reason I was on the floor became score the touchdown.
I'm jumping up and down like, yeah, money because it's over time.
Then there's a flag and then I fall because I'm like, there's no way.
And how is this happening? And that my friends is a broken and real quick Brooke and then real quick, real quick.
I'm going to say to translate my godmother was like, Hey, be careful.
Your stomach, your guts are gonna come.
It's like a you know, the whole like don't move like crazy when you're when you just eight and I was so mad I was like, That's not true and e was like, I was like, That's not true.
Like, not the time right now, but yeah, I I do want to give the cardinals their flowers.
That was an incredible victory.
I mean, that was a gutsy victory.
I was strange games at State Farm Stadium.
Oh, man, That was That was yeah.
**** you. Cardinals for being clutch.
Right? There was an awesome what it would have been.
What would happen to your parliament if it ended in a tie? It was a tie game.
Would you have one that I lost? I lost because I e 20 three.
If I had the Cardinals plus three and they tied, I would have won eso you need.
You needed that madcap touchdown, then that makeup, that madcap place down, I not even a field goal would have done it right.
If a field goal would have done it, I still would have made money because it would have just pushed.
Yeah, so I was happy with that.
Eat too, But is what it is, Michael, your thoughts on that Sunday night football match up, I feel like and this is probably a little bold, but almost felt like you could see I'm gonna use this loosely just because I don't know any other way to say it.
Ah, passing of the torch to our younger generation at quarterback.
Now I'm not saying Russell Wilson saying, I'm done here.
It is, But it definitely puts Kyler as one of the fan favorites at quarterback who is definitely gonna be every day media covering this guy.
I mean, smiling as he throws a pass.
I touched down dark pass.
And then not even that.
A couple weeks ago, he faked a pass to himself.
Where a little pitch.
You know, this dude is just playing with confidence right now, and it's it's fun to watch.
I wish Seattle's defense could show up a little bit because this is a great Seahawks team.
It looked like a NOL star.
He looked like Jerry Rice mixed with Megatron out there.
I think he had 170 yards.
I think reception three touchdowns at least.
I mean, this offense is awesome.
Chris Carson got hurt.
Don't know what's gonna go on there.
Carlos Hyde Probably be taking over.
Uh, if you know, see money.
He and one of our chats, was saying how fragile Chris Carson is and that just cause a big records there.
But so this this offense is has the firepower to do anything on both sides.
It's what defense is gonna make a stop.
And we definitely got to see the interception there on Russell Wilson that set up for everything.
So wonderful game.
I mean, I actually turned it off a couple of times, like, Man, that game was so close, it might going over time, we'll turn it back on and I see the field goal being kids.
Oh, snap, this is going in overtime.
Well, I was like, It's time to go bed.
Let's all go to bed and like, Yeah, I'm gonna stay up just a little bit longer.
This game would be over.
Probably two possessions, like 14 seconds left, and then we finally get a winner.
So it was a great Sunday.
Not game much better than last week.
Sunday night game.
Let me say that for sure.
Sunday Night Football match up last week. Waas.
I think it was It was No, it was No, that was a Thursday night in the Sunday night matchup was the Rams and the 40 Niners.
Okay, I'm sorry.
I'm thinking of Thursday. I apologize.
Way make mistakes.
I thought the game was great.
I mean, I think we saw Kyler Murray blossom into a Q B where you could actually trust in the final two minutes.
I mean, he let he led a two minute drive at Zang Gonzales, put him in position, and he tied the game with, uh with the game tying field goal.
And it was overall clutch play.
And I truly thought when Zang Gonzalez missed that field goal and over time, I thought that was it.
I thought they just I thought that was like I pushed you thought that was why the Arizona Cardinals are a year away because they weren't ready for the big moment.
Russell Wilson gets the ball.
He throws the perfect pass.
The Metcalf. I thought the game was over.
Metcalf just got a game winning touchdown.
Seattle is on the way to 60 Arizona is on the way to four and three, but I see a flag on the play.
I'm like, Oh, there's a flag on the play.
I'm just like I swear if this is holding like this is gonna be somebody's gonna be mad And lo and behold, holding offense Number 83.
I think on that.
Next play also wasn't those have picked the Isaiah Simmons and then Zen Gonzalez or Dean's himself kicks a game winning field goal, and overall, it was a solid performance.
You know, I think you could say Kyler Murray outplayed Russell Wilson.
And if there's one thing I can't stand, I can't stand phony ****ysts like Skip Bayless and Colin Coward.
Who who gave Aaron Rodgers **** for playing terrible against the ****ing years. Which he did.
But when it's Russell Wilson.
Oh, he doesn't have support.
He doesn't have the defense.
He doesn't have edge rushers.
It's like there was that Anybody.
It's like, Oh, what was me way? Also, Wilson.
It's like it's like thes.
These guys don't don't have double standards.
We'll still Wilson played terrible in overtime and in the final two minutes of the game.
Yeah, a far cry from the 66 time four years ago on Sunday night.
That was That was definitely pathetic.
No, Brady for CO M v P. Of course.
And he's got to stand up for his man crushed Tom Brady off course.
You all know the vibes.
A Does that mean with Carson Wentz to Once and Brady for Co M v P.
Anthony stay the course.
Yeah, we'll stay the course.
But overall, overall, it was a solid win for the Cardinals, and it proves that they're not a team.
They're not a team to slouch.
They're gonna give everything they have week in, week out.
I'm looking back someday.
Some of the stats here for the just the Cardinals alone, man.
Uh, rushing stats.
Murray had 67 yards, Edmonds had 58 yards.
Drake at 34 which is only in the second quarter, I think.
And then you look at the past and Murray threw for 360 yards, three touchdowns.
I mean, Hopkins was 10 of 12 on targets.
Edmonds seven of seven.
Fitzgerald, eight of eight, Hopkins, 100 yards.
Hedman's had 87 through the air.
Fits had 62 through the air.
I mean, I almost think it would be awesome just to see the Cardinals say, you know what forget her offensive playbook.
Let's just do the two minute drill playbook all.
Let's just do that because you open Murray up in the open field.
There's flush him out of the pocket.
I mean, he's gonna run for 40 yards.
You keep him in the pocket.
He may not be able to see over the line, but he's still I mean, he's got the weapons where he could just move or mobile around, I guess.
And just find his targets.
I just think this offense hurry up.
Offense is a thief.
Wonderful thing. Toe watch.
Really? What about you, Alex? We didn't hear your take on it on the on the game.
I mean, I basically just summarized it home to you.
Brady versus Murray, Conference final.
That would be ****ing interesting.
I could see Tampa.
I mean, it was looking good right now, probably.
We heard you take a faras the bed, but not as far as what you liked about the game or yeah, no, I mean, I definitely wanna continue to to give credit to the Cardinals for making that deal for DeAndre Hopkins.
It's definitely been beneficial to kind of Murray's development.
I think I love Murray's making the right progressions In terms of developing as a quarterback, Brady would pick apart that defense.
You know, Connie wants to be a top of a fan so bad, Um, and for the company has a fan page for Tom Tom Brady.
And like he is three guy.
I think he's got a man crush right here.
Guys, we we need to maybe send a letter at the Tom Brady to watch out for him.
Hey, literally, Literally.
Almost best buds.
Anthony grew up with the Patriots for success all 20 years.
And who was the guy being got behind? It was e his fat head.
He has in this room has, like, three D eyeballs, so it looks like he moves around with you.
He puts a football in this hand somehow, like, has the papers pool.
Oh, Tom's throw me a pass.
Yeah, but we're real quick for the Seahawks.
Should, um, I worried? No, You're not going to be perfect every game.
You're gonna have a tough loss here.
They had to be against a divisional opponent.
But I'm not worried for the Seahawks.
I did come out a little bit more encouraged with this Cardinals team.
I'm not not ready to put him in second place, like Michael said, but I wouldn't be surprised.
They shown every ability to be ableto put it together.
It's that defense that that really worries me for for that long term here.
Here's one thing I will say that it costs the Seattle Seahawks that lost potentially cost them a first round bye.
And with all the good teams in the NFC with Tampa Bay with the Rams on the come up with the Green Bay Power Boys, you know if the Cowboys make the playoffs and they somehow beat the Packers.
I am going by the way last week, as it stood like you know how they do playoff predictions.
Like if the season ended today, this is the Packers and Cowboys were supposed to play each other now.
Obviously, right now they were now now because Green Bay's and I will.
I will say if Green Bay somehow doesn't win the division and they have to face the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs and they lose.
I'm gonna be so frustrated.
I would even know what to do with myself.
Guys, Cowboys aren't making the playoffs.
It's gonna be a football team.
Why, Connie, real quick.
Who is that at? I'm just curious.
Oh, that's that's towards Michael on Dak Prescott.
I would think so.
We'll see. We'll see real quick.
Azzawi, wrap this up.
Attended a Houston Texans Green Bay Packers game.
Oh, that was that, Michael.
Um, and Michael, I'll let you respond to him in a second.
There's no point.
Responded to that.
Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha.
Real quick before we head out.
Since we're we've already hit the overtime.
Um, e do want us, you know, open up the floor, Michael.
You can ask why she's how a game about a question about how the game was in terms of, you know, being a fan in this quarantine.
I'll have a question.
You have a question? We're at these things up, Michael.
First, if you don't have questions, okay, Michael, just put you on the spot. Do this.
Go. Uh what I would like to know one first.
It's like a two part question one.
Is this your first game going to? Yes, this is This is my first game going, Thio.
I mean, I've been to high school football games with my brother, but professional wise, yes, this is my first game.
Okay? I was wanting to hope that you would say yes.
So I can actually say what was the atmosphere like? Did it feel more of a semi pro professional game there, or does it feel like the actual NFL? But how was the atmosphere? Because, you know, they did have fans.
I don't know what the percentage or how many fans were there, but did it feel awkward to be at the game? Because I know seeing a lot of empty seats could have a weird feeling in itself.
It did feel a little awkward normally, if if this if this was pre co vid Daschle Watson, Aaron Rodgers, that's a sellout crowd like Energy Stadium.
That place would be rocking and, you know, granted, I I still love being at that game, but it was definitely a different vibe.
It seems like it's one of those where, like, you know, it was it was almost like a high school game at a big football stadium.
Whenever they have their state championship games at like 18 T Stadium, it kind of had one of those vibes where they would just be dispersed around.
There really isn't one certain condensed area, which made sense, but also Energy Stadium.
They zip tied some seats close where people couldn't even sit.
They had certain seats designated distant wise where where you're able to sit.
But overall and one thing that was great.
There were a lot agreement Packer fans at that game, so I felt one with the Chiefs.
Yeah, No, definitely.
No matter what was the you know, it was limited capacity.
How was the lines like, How was it? Did it feel crowded at all? Like like what? What was the like? The wait times and stuff just because I've been a professional football game.
Those white lines were insane, so those those lines were quick.
It's like it's like there's barely a line at all.
I mean, I mean, I was a I was able to get.
I was able to get some pizza and a drink and there was only like one or two people in line, like in a regular, full seated game.
You take like, 15 20 minutes and even, I mean, I I didn't I didn't use the bathroom at all in the game.
I didn't have to, but the bathroom lines definitely looked a lot shorter.
I remember I went to the Packers Chargers game last year.
Lines would be all the way out.
You have to plan 15 20 minutes just to use the bathroom, man.
Maybe get get food.
But it's kind of one or the other.
But overall, the atmosphere was different.
Lines were definitely quicker, which is huge, because you could like because some scenarios you had a wait till halftime to get stuff.
So you want to miss any of the action.
But it could be one where, like, oh, you know, the drives on commercial break.
You could make a quick run the bathroom and make it in just in time before they had a little kick off.
Can I go? Alex, You good.
Was it so quiet there that you could actually hear communications audibles on the field? Could you hear the coaches, Cem schemes or anything like that? Or was it still pretty noisy there? No, it was It was It was still noisy.
You didn't You couldn't really hear any any audibles.
Unless if you were super close, like by by the sidelines.
But my my seats were not.
I was in the upper corner, and then I worked my way down toe like this.
Section 300 you moved? Yeah, man.
Social distance you got his name is Matt. Okay.
People do that all the time.
People do it all the time.
Come on, Covert.
Yes, Prick. Over. Yes.
I made sure we found empty seats.
Socially distanced by three or four people.
Way were in the clear.
It was during the second quarter two.
So way we're going through throughout the game.
But overall, overall, unwrap sports does not agree with any Any of the actions that met did I'm just kidding.
You get a Z long? A as long as you don't get caught.
You told us about it.
Yeah, it was over Overall.
It was It was It was a great atmosphere.
Like I said before, there were a lot a lot of Green Bay Packer fans there at that game.
I was actually impressed with help.
How many were actually there? It seemed like it was more for Packer's home game that that it was a road game.
So overall I was I was impressed with the atmosphere.
I was impressed with how great Aaron Rodgers performed.
I probably saw one of the best games he played all season, where he just picked apart the defense.
Davante Adams was great.
I was disappointed.
He felt four yards short of 200.
I mean, 196 yards that z one more.
He would have 200 but it was It was a solid victory, a solid win.
I mean, e I have I on some videos if you want me to show like some tough off some of the touchdowns.
But overall great great win great performance and and it was overall, it was overall, a decent crowd size like even though it was a limited capacity like it was still, it still felt good to be like at the stadium toe.
Watch the game in person.
Awesome, man. Awesome.
All right, let's wrap this up, Michael.
Anything you wanna plug? Just follow me on Twitter.
Something y'all maybe watching this.
It's on my name here.
Follow me. There. Also.
It's on Instagram Aziz.
Well, haven't done SportsCastr in a while, but it's also M d Lawson 00 with us n at the end.
And of course, all of us here have SportsCastrs where you can search into the search bar, put in U S N and pull up our whole gang that we've got there as well.
Also, uh, we could take that off.
This is not his plug.
But also, I will be live tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Eastern time, and I'm actually going to try to see if I could start it like a little segment going on.
I'm gonna have ah, guess on where I'm going to interview one of our I'm a Kentucky fan is you can see behind me here Whatever top recruits for next year, it's Ah Jaeger Burton, who is a four star recruit.
I think 247 or 24 7 sports has him ranked as 94.
I think right now I think it's like 94.
Hey was considering Ohio State.
He was also looked at it Oregon, Alabama and Clemson.
And he chose Kentucky.
You're gonna have here just kind of talked to him about how preparing for your college has affected high school play.
Because, you know, one thing I've always wondered is, how does it work? You know, as a star in the high school, you're going to dominate and probably lose a lot of your fundamentals there because you could just do whatever you want. Teoh.
Is he trying to stay focused on talking with his coaches? And what do you need to work on it? This level.
And try to look like that effect now.
So you could be more prepared.
