Get your last thing.
My bears lost on national TV.
Yeah, John's fans get your laughs in.
Jets fans, get your laughs and yeah, I don't mind that stuff behind me, man.
I'm doing a bunch of stuff to the house, So, uh huh.
Trying to trying to convert this bedroom into office.
Oh, is that better? Can you hear me better? Yeah.
I'm trying to convert this this bedroom, um, into office.
So, um, I thought about going blue and orange, you know, blah, blah, orange.
But so I was told No, in a polite way.
But this ice mocha, whatever they call it, will be the color.
Right? So my blue and orange wearing Chicago Bears last.
We need a quarterback desperately.
Is Sam Donald available? Is Daniel Jones? Well, no. Daniel Jones.
I think that I think Daniel Jones has potential, but he's not it right now, so Mm.
So I want to get off.
I want to get I'm fine. I get off.
But I want to get on and talks.
Um, the Knicks stuff.
But I won't lie to you.
I am upset that the bears lost to the **** Rams.
Not frustrating to me.
So what I intended to talk to you about I'm going.
What I intended to talk to you about is the impending MBA draft.
Just just taking notes.
Had to take notes on here sometimes, because sometimes the conference, the conversation takes weird turns.
And, you know, I kind of lose move where I am not because the points are are bad points and are confusing.
But just because people make good points and, you know, it's it's cool to when somebody is on a roll to allow them to stay on your proverbial on their role, so to speak.
Um, what's up? Um, not that DuPont was happening was good.
Um, I want to talk about the draft, and I want to talk about and I wanna talkto draft positioning, draft prospects, potential trades.
Um um, a few other things draft related.
I don't want to just do a mock draft.
I'm gonna I'm gonna see if I can convince Rick and Art to do a another mock draft, maybe next week, and then do one that week in the draft just so that we can see who the smartest person is? Yeah.
It will probably be one of them, by the way.
Just like, you know, they're probably probably be art.
You know what I'm saying? He's pretty sharp.
So, um, talking about Hey, thanks for the follow to.
Not that I do appreciate it.
Um, I'm gonna try.
I'm gonna try to do my best to put good content out here.
Um, just so that, you know, when you all click on Uncle Free Z, you know, whatever it is that it will be something relevant, at the very least, entertaining.
You know what I'm saying? That a big waste of time.
Um, so, um, my initial take away from this year's NBA draft is this? Yeah.
Um, there is a lot mawr pondering.
Um, a lot more espionage, I guess.
Is the real word riel world word to use for front officers approach to this NBA draft.
Um, and it's just it's only because of the cir***stances.
Oh, so I think the cir***stances basically dictate mawr.
I'm study more posturing because there is more time and the talent seems to be equal.
Right? So my thing with the NBA draft is I think once you get past.
Once you get packed past picked four, I think picks five through 20 are all the same.
And then 6 21 through 40.
40 are all the same.
And then 40 picks 41 through 60.
Or just about all the same.
So let me write that down.
One through four.
20 21 through 40 and then 41 through 16.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Hey, thanks for the tip.
Not that decline.
Hey, thanks for the thanks for the tip man way.
Um, I gotta get some.
I gotta get some co host on that and not trolls.
E Gotta get some co host on.
Man, that kind of help me through this stuff.
So if you don't know anybody, if you don't know anything about sportsman, listen.
I have some stuff that I want to say.
I'm not, You know, I'm just, you know, a guy again.
My claim to fame is that I'm not the mainstream media.
I'm just a dude that makes observations, and I'll tell a bad joke or two every now and then.
I like to consider myself to be fairly not fairly smart, but at least you know, a smart cat.
You know, like like most cats you like to surround yourself with, You know, dudes, that they're they're fairly smart, a smart decision makers and have, ah, decent measure, common sense.
So now we're saying that I want to say this.
So who do I have in that slot? Say, pick one through four? I have.
I have the obvious group one through four.
So I have Denny Denny A.
I have James Wiseman, James W.
I have the mellow ball Lamell OBE and Anthony Edwards.
I have them in that.
Hey, what's up? Cubs fan and hiding? What's good with you? Cubs fan? We gotta talk some baseball, man.
The Mets have to get J t Realmuto.
Man, we need a catcher.
And we did my dream off season with this new owner is is Trevor Bauer, um, Francisco Lindor or and they Realmuto and George Springer.
Now, how about that? All of them.
All of the middle catcher, pitcher, shortstop, center, field, all of the middle.
And and then there you are like a dog.
This is is this This is like MLB the show that you just feel like you can get anybody.
Yeah, pretty much.
This is like Yahoo fantasy baseball.
Yeah, pretty much when your when your team sucks, bro.
Hey, we your team sucks.
You need upgrades everywhere.
I mean, aside from Assad, from Jake the Graham and and a few other pieces Dominic Smith.
Um, Peter Lonzo.
You know, we know how it is.
So anyway, back to the draft on the NBA draft.
Um, I don't really want to go through picks five through 20 or picks 21 through 40 or picks 40 one through 16 though I think the most interesting category is the most interesting group of players in this year's draft out of one through 45 through 2021 through 40 and 41 to 60.
Is that group five through 20 closely followed by the group 21 through 40? I think I think those two are the most interesting groups of players because e think there were are ah, few players that there in that 21 to 40 range that might be legit, n b a contributor.
I mean, and I mean legit and be a contributor is like like, you know, role players.
Um um, maybe, you know, range starters. Definitely.
Um, in that in that group, Um, after 20.
I think, You know, depending on on match with the team, I think they they could either be a flat out bust or, um, legit contributors if they go to the right teams.
So with that said, let me get down to what we call the nitty gritty.
Right? So, um, one thing for I think the teams that pick there are, uh, Minnesota.
I miss felt Minnesota Mina Mina store.
It's not the way you pronounce this.
Minnesota Uncle Frese Minnesota.
Alright, Some Minnesota Golden State Charlotte in Chicago.
I believe in Chicago.
I'm not remember the Chicago, Cleveland or Atlanta somebody.
Somebody who's usually in that in that area.
Right? So here's where things are interesting and why I think there is conjecture, posturing, espionage and all those things.
Hey, thanks for the tip.
Cubs fan and hiding.
I appreciate it.
Appreciate that Cubs fans and they have a shortstop man.
Javier Baez, man.
One can Onley wish we can only wish we had a shortstop.
I mean, we have Ahmad Rosario, but he's young, and he just hadn't put it all together yet.
So But anyways, this MBA drafting is interesting in that, um, if you're Minnesota, what do you do with the number one pick? You know, you have You have, um, D'Angelo Russell, who you paid a lot to get.
You have Karl Anthony towns who's a franchise piece.
You have young guys.
Joshua Kogi, who's really, uh, right.
I have the young I'm not really tired.
Just have young.
But anyway, you have got Joshua coaching who's really a shooting guard shooting guard size, good athlete.
Great athletes, Um, does not give you the shooting guard scoring, but does give you wing defense.
So he's like a 64 643 and the guy like a 64 wing, right? I guess he can guard guys somewhere anywhere from like, you know, 6 ft 267 He's a He's a high energy defender, man.
Once he gets his offensive game together, he'll be something, right? You also have Jared Colbert, who you drafted last year who looked absolutely ridiculously trash.
Um, you know, he He seemed to be turning the corner later in the season.
Um, but how long do you wait on Jarrett? Culver? You drafted him last year.
He's a he's, you know, only 66 games or 67 games into his career.
Do you like what you've seen so far? If you're the Minnesota Timberwolves, does it prevent you from from drafting Anthony Edwards? Hell, no.
Y'all see the set up set y'all up.
See, I mentioned Josh, Kobe, Jericho over and D'Angelo Russell and then said, You know, does that prevent you from that thing? Anthony Edwards.
If you're Minnesota, you gotta keep all your options open.
But the team that jazz behind them, Golden State, What did they do? What did they do? Um, do you believe Steph Curry is the M P M V P.
Stuff? Do you believe Clay Thompson is the, um, all world? What's up? Similar similar thing is in the building.
Hey, what's up? K C d c 1993 a similar.
Don't start that.
I started this stream by saying how how frustrated I am that we lost the ramp.
We need a quarterback in the worst way, right? We need a quarterback in the worst way.
We we needed to Sam Donald or Daniel Jones.
Biscuit is not going to get it.
And Nick Foles is Nick Foles is going to get us to 10 and six and goes into the playoffs, and we'll need a lot of luck.
That's what I'm looking at with Nick Falls.
And I say 10 and six.
Dude, I don't wanna hear that, man. I don't care.
Don't care, man.
Our offense did diddly pool.
Our touchdown was No, I don't want Daniel Jones, Actually, you know, I'm just being nice.
That was like an olive branch, bro.
Don't don't beat me to death with olive Branch.
Olive branches are meant for peace.
So anyway, um, So if you're Golden State getting at the Golden State, do you believe Do you believe Steph Curry is the MVP? Steph Curry? Do you believe, um, Clay Thompson is the all world play that you were getting before that The thorn a c l um Do you believe that Draymond green's regression Israel? Do you believe those kids that they have are decent, so without getting too much into into the state of every team.
I'm just gonna say this about Golden State.
I think I think, um, Steph Curry is Steph Curry.
I don't know if he's league MVP Steph Curry.
Right that those two, those two m v p seasons were special.
I don't I don't think Steph Curry is is M v p caliber anymore, although he's still a top 10 player.
On the other hand, um, I guess you e guess it depends on on, um what age? Because Clay is 30.
So he's not old, but, um, leg injuries do seem thio Have you slow down the step? Do you think Klay Thompson, uh, a step slower is still, um, legit, you know, all MBA defense, Or do you think that's gonna hinder his shooting? I don't think so.
Because I think Clay is a heady defender more than more than an athletic defender.
If that makes any sense, you know, I don't think I don't think I don't see Clay Thompson is being a Z athletic as Andrew Wiggins.
Yeah, this year for him is going to be a recovery year, said said some of the same and I kinda I kinda agree, but unfortunately they don't have recovery years left because their core is getting and listen.
Every court gets older, but their core after a recovery year, they'll step will be 33 Clay would be 31 Draymond, I'll be somewhere in in the same age ranges, clay.
So here's where I think things turn.
I think Steve Kirk in turn, Andrew Wiggins into something like a legit player.
Right? When I say legit, I mean, I turn Andrew Wiggins into a a, um So what I'm looking for if he I think he can raise his basketball I Q.
How about that? Last year with Golden State, you didn't see you had to get to see um, Andrew Wiggins with Clay and Steph, you know, maybe step for a little bit, but definitely no Clay, right? Um, someone I don't know, man.
I don't I don't know.
But it's like it's like, Yeah, I compare Compare SportsCastr getting on like being at school.
You know what I mean? This is, you know, you take new classes, and sometimes, you know, you just have to mingle with the people that are here.
And and sometimes that turns into new friends.
You know what I'm saying? Nothing against the old friends.
You know what I'm saying? I love the old friends, but, um, like cubs fan and hiding.
Hey, Cubs fan and hiding, even tipped, You know what I mean? And not that DuPont and and some others are here, and we're just gonna chop it up with the ones that are here, you know? I mean, and I love the old for it.
It's like moving to a new neighborhood.
You know, the old neighborhood.
You know, you were the guy you had on your friends.
You had a routine and blah blah, blah.
But you moved to a new neighborhood, and dude is, like, legit.
Don't have a skateboard, but he's got a bike you might damage.
I used to leave my bike in the house because everybody rode skateboards in my old neighborhood.
But over here, cats have bikes.
We could ride bikes together.
I mean, part of the reason why I'm a Bears fan.
I'm a Bears fan from New Jersey, and I'll tell that story real quick before I get back to Golden state.
Um, so we lived.
Um um, in this on the hill in Jersey City.
Right? And so we lived on Van Austrian, and I had Stephen Man, I've been hearing that rumor forever.
Man, I believe it when I see it.
But when I when we were in New Jersey, Jersey City, we moved from Van Nostrand where I was the guy when we used to.
When hip hop first started, we all we did was was break Buyout break box.
All we used do is break dance on linoleum.
We used to steal linoleum out abandoned buildings and bringing outside to the sidewalk and break dance on it back with the old slapped down tape recorders and we spotted tape in there and tear record and playing music.
You could barely hear it just barely hear the beat.
But then I moved to this street, called Woodlawn, and they played this game called Free for All where you just throw the football up in the air and everybody get it and trying to run for a touchdown.
And everybody was either Franco Harris or Tony Door set or whoever the hot running back and I was like, Well, dog.
I don't have no running back to be, You know, I mean, I mean dude, one dude CEO, I'm innocent.
Bouza was like, Boozer, Who is that? But anyway, so this dude, this dude was like, Yo, Uncle Free Z, why don't you be Walter Payton? And I was like, Well, who the hell is Walter Payton? And he was like, Dog, you're gonna love altar painting.
And that night, the at night that night, the bear attack happened to be playing the night game.
The Monday night game back with Howard Cosell.
And, um So it's Howard Cosell, Don MEREDITH and Frank Gifford.
Right? Man wants a painting rushes for, like, 7000 yards against the Dallas Cowboys.
Well, im sorry against the Minnesota Vikings, right? Running over people through people around, people dragging bodies.
You know what I'm saying? It was like a It was like a crime scene.
Walter Payton left.
And so I find myself watching Walter Payton often because he was entertaining like it'll be third down in 11.
The defense? No, the bears can't throw.
The wind is going sideways is 20 degrees the the turf is frozen and they're like, Well, what did they do here, folks? The beds are and the beds are in an I formation.
Third down and third down in 11.
You know, do a throw the ball here.
No, it was the handoff.
The Walter Payton carrying bodies for 13 yards.
That's how I'm a What's a Peyton fan? So anyways, anyways, back to back to Golden State.
Right? And I know you're like, man Uncle Crazy.
Why are you telling these random sports stories? Hey, man, I'm y'all Are random sports fans just like me? Y'all a random sports fans.
I know some of y'all out there that are listening that that are watching had weird sports stories, maybe how you ran track in high school and the gym teacher that the awkward gym teacher.
You know what I'm saying? Used to do weird stuff, like smoke a pack of cigarettes on the way to the track meet or whatever.
Just something where I know I know you all have stories just like just like that.
But anyway, so I was talking about Steve Kerr and Andrew Wiggins, right? So I think if Clay and Steph are not the same players they were, I think Andrew Wiggins If he if he buys into Steve Kerr can be not the torchbearer for the new Golden State Warriors.
But be that that missing piece like when steps three is not falling.
And maybe Clay, um, isn't a bad matchup, You know, um, Wiggins can step up and be that guy.
You know, I'm saying thio kind of that scoring punch.
You know, that young athletes, you know, and he'd be told, Um, I'm in the mindset of this.
I think if the Golden State Warriors draft James Wiseman, I don't know who has a better line up in the West, to be honest with you, who has a better line up who's starting five then Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggin, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, James Wiseman.
Think about that for a second before you overreact.
Think about that for a second.
You know who Draymond Green is, right? And you know Andrew Wiggins was the number one pick in the draft.
You know Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Hall of Famous right who has a better line up in the West? Do you say LeBron? Do you say the Lakers Who Who's the Lakers? Certain file And if you start with, if you start that Congress, if you start that statement that sentence with, well, the Lakers rollout Ron So K, C P, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and some some center No, no, that's not a better line up in Golden State.
I'm sorry, and Steve Kerr is a better coach than Frank Vogel.
Something about that's legit.
Something to think about, you know? Well, the state can legit.
Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and their rookie, The rookie.
They take a number two.
And so so we all say, Well, James Wiseman is just a rookie.
Hey, man, all they need for him to do is defend block shots and rebound.
Just defend, protect the rim and rebound the basketball.
That's all they need him to do that, and they're going to groom him to do that.
Can you imagine the gravity on the court with a a Draymond Steph Clay Wiggins and then Wiseman in the middle by himself? I think that's legitimate, legit, something to talk about.
So Charlotte and Chicago picket that pick three and four, So I think it's Chicago I'm Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland and some kind of Detroit and some kind of weird mix.
I don't care to talk about them. All of them are trash.
The best player in that group is probably exact. Levine.
I'd rather just fast forward that and just go straight to the neck because I think the next legitimately conduce something right.
I think the next legit can do something.
The thing they can do.
I'm not for sure, But I will tell you this.
And and this is what I've been saying for the past year.
The Knicks have draft picks, cap space, young core.
Other resource is to me that puts him ahead of everybody.
You know, I think that puts them ahead of, um, all those teams I mentioned.
Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit.
I think that puts the Knicks ahead of all of them.
All of those teams, I mean, well, you know what they do.
Atlanta does have trade young, So I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
I take for a young over exact Levine.
Um, but those teams are garbage.
What would you prefer? What would you like to see The next do? Well before I even asked that.
I'm gonna tell you what I prefer. I'm gonna tell you.
Usually I listen to you all.
First, I'm gonna ask you to listen to me first.
I'm just that type of person, man.
I mean, I like to listen to everybody, man.
I believe everybody has.
You know, everybody has an opinion.
Some opinions are not always in line with what I'm thinking.
But just by hearing others opinions, well, at least you know, I'm at least able to, um, balance what I hear with them versus would already knew would help let me formulate a decent opinion.
You know, um, I'll tell you this.
I think this is what the Knicks need today.
My New York Knicks need to establish a direction, period.
Who are you? New York, New York.
Next is what I'm asking you.
New York Knicks.
Who are you? Who are you? New York Knicks? Are you a young rebuilding team that's gonna build through the draft organically and build your championship contender through? Um um accurate, um, smart drafting and coupled with, um, in house development of players.
Um, is that who you're going to be right or or what? I just mentioned that's one direction.
Build through the draft organically and smart.
Develop your players or are you? Um, we're now at all costs, right? When Now at all costs.
Do you trade? Um, for Christian.
Would Zach Lavine and, um Chris Paul, Do you surround that core of players with veteran savvy veterans that know how to play ball and, um, want to win right away? Think about that. What I just said.
Do you trade for Chris Paul? Do you trade for Zach Lavine? Do you find Christian? Would do you surround them by veterans and and make a playoff push with a coach that knows how to coach veterans? That's the said.
That's the That's the second option.
I mean, legit is either.
What's up, Akima? O M m a or is that Oh, no, that's m m a.
Um, do you legit? Do you legit.
Take one of those directions.
Going one of those directions, Do you? Um let me see.
Here. Let me Let me do this here. Quick.
I like to follow everybody.
I hope I didn't miss anybody.
Yeah, I didn't miss a couple people.
Let me follow you all really Quick.
Stay with me for just a moment, okay? So I guess what I'm getting at is is if I'm a Knicks.
If I'm a Knicks fan, I'm gonna establish a direction.
You know what I mean? Because there's there's it's no fun riding something with somebody who doesn't know where they're going.
You all have done that before, right? Yeah.
Road with people who had no idea where they were going, right? Yeah, That's not fun all the time.
Sometimes sometimes, you know, sometimes it is is, you know, cool to be whimsical, but not all the time.
Man, you don't wanna do that all the time.
That's not fun, you know.
So you are asking me, right? Like, Well, Christie said that? Which way? Which way do you want to go? Right? It's tough, man, because it is a Knicks fan.
As the Knicks fan, you know, we've lost for so long.
Um, you know, we we've lost for so long that just a year of winning would do wonders for for the next fan base, right? Just a win, just not even not I mean, not even asking for 60 and 60 and 22 50 and 32 will re energize our fan base. Man.
You know, I'm saying 40 and 42.
Well, energize our fan base, man.
You know, it is one of them things where where you wanna win, You know, you've lost for so long and not lost, but I mean, lost on every.
Yeah, the Knicks fans legit, lose on every losing everything.
See, it's not even about just basketball.
No more man with being next fan.
I mean, 2020 15.
The Knicks have the worst record in the league or the second worst record in the league.
Going into the last game of the season, I forget who we're playing, but we have like the other team is in a lottery just like us.
I think it may have been the Pistons or the Sixers or somebody.
They have a 10 point lead going into the fourth quarter.
I want the next to throw the bag and Brandon Ingram and hope New Orleans can't afford the match.
It semi. I'm with you.
You are not may be the only ones.
You and I agree.
You and I agree, right? I want Brandon Ingram bad, right and I don't want to trade for him.
I wanna I wanna offer him the max and hope he signs it.
Um, so So we're playing a team in a lot of I think it may have been.
Philadelphia is one of those teams that were red, white and blue.
I can't remember exactly.
I gotta pardon Uncle Freezing.
I'm getting older.
I'm not saying that that my memories are still trapped, but I do remember a lot of stuff.
Some stuff I just don't.
And maybe maybe because I'm compartment compartmentalizing, You know how you have a bad memory and you just stuff it away separate.
But so we have a 10 point if they have a 10 point lead, and they put they put their bench in the game, and and so we put our bench in the game, right? So two teams tank, and as hard as they can, we throw up the last shot of the game.
Some somebody throws up.
But it may have been like Tory Murray, so I don't know something Rent.
Alessi spent some random can't that played with us for like, a year and a half.
Langston Galloway's I don't know.
I don't I don't know.
And my man have been ****d.
Fellow man, I don't know.
They throw up the last, they throw up a shot at the buzzer and miss right? And I'm like, Yeah, but we we can't just lose.
We have to lose and terrible fashion.
Maurice Indoor gets the offensive rebound and puts it back, and we win.
Right? And he is pumping his fist and excited that he got the game winner, right? He's trying to adapt people like high five.
Nobody's high. Five of them.
He goes over to the coach like trying to trying to help the coach.
Coach turned his back, walked off.
Right? So the draft lottery comes instead of us having the worst.
I think I don't.
I think we're tied for the worst record in the league tied for it.
I can't remember exactly.
So don't judge me exactly.
But we were time for the worst record.
We had a legit shot to get the number one pick and the prize of the draft Karl Anthony towns, but some random ass journeymen decided to put back and shot at the buzzer.
Yes, my voice elevated for no reason.
Like like my voice out of frustration, like my frustrated voice escalated for no reason.
So anyway, uh, so So we don't wind up getting calling into towns we don't get D'Angelo.
Russell, We don't get Jalil Okafor.
We get a kid named Kristaps Porzingis that nobody even knew who he waas, right? And so you're going to say, Well, Kristaps Porzingis, he wound up being a pretty good player for you.
All right, listen, my point is, if we have the number one pick, we could do whatever we could trade to pick to Minnesota and get, like, the number, whatever pick they have and future first and still take poor Zynga's.
You know, I'm saying, or we could take help calling me towns and rock with it.
That's my point.
So now we don't have We don't have Karl Anthony towns.
We don't have DeAngelo Russell.
We don't have your little local four.
Nor do we have Kristaps Porzingis nor those graphics we could've gotten If Maurice Indoor and our doesn't have a put back at the buzzer and ruin our franchise So Simmer.
Singh says this is a huge draft for us.
We can't afford to draft players like Frank and knocks in the draft.
We need MBA ready players.
I'm gonna do a video on on right after this.
Right when I finished talking to y'all, man, I'm gonna do a video about R.
J. Barrett and Kevin Knox.
It's gonna be I'm gonna post it on on my YouTube channel blah orange test, and then I'll go ahead and do it.
So my point is so the point of it all the point I was getting at is is the next lose at everywhere we could lose, we lose.
Kids, blew the owner.
The owner bands them from the arena who lose in that case, the kids? No, no, the kids don't lose.
The owner know the owner doesn't lose.
He don't lose a dime because those kids, those kids get their tickets revoked.
If 70,000 people waiting to buy their tickets, the Knicks fans lose.
That's what loses.
Ah, former player comes back to the Garden and is heckling the owner because the team sucks.
The only flips out and gets the dude gets.
Charles Oakley objected from the arena takes in the court.
Who loses? Charles Oakley? No.
Who moves? The owner know the owner is rich.
We losing everything.
So celebrity that that has had season tickets for like 30 years.
Gets into a beef with the owner about the entrance, right all over the news.
Blah, blah, blah.
Who loses? Spike Lee know who's gonna know the fans lose.
The fans always lose.
We lose that everything, man.
And I know you all on board with this, but I just need to vent for a second, right? So now I'm saying and the Knicks fan, just pick a direction and go either.
It's all in with the kids are all in with the vets, but you can't do both.
You can't do both.
My thing is, the one I prefer is going.
Go all in with the kids.
You know, if you have to trade some of the kids because you ruined them, then trade some of the kids because you ruined them, right? All right.
So prospects five through 20.
Um, I think all these guys are just about the same.
Um, but what's the difference between Isaac of Car Roll and Terryl Terry.
One is a defensive wing with limited upside offensive upside, but if you tap into it, he could become quite limited.
And the other is a small, slight point guard that can shoot the three from range and has decent handle and can shoot the three and is in the Steph Curry mole.
If you unlock him, he'll be Steph Curry, Trae Young type like Trey Young Light.
You know who else is? Five through 20.
What's the difference between Devin Vessel Patrick Williams and are they Hampton to me, they're all to me. They're all the same.
There is no there is no difference, right? Hey, and some of your right we lose media and haters win.
That's that's basically what we are.
So the reason why I say pick a direction and go if you're the next, as at least we start winning, we know what winning feels like.
Like if you go all in on the veterans, I'm not mad because at least you pick the direction right.
So if you have to use R.
Barrett, Kevin Knox, Frank Miller, Kina um mental Robinson, the number eight pick the number 27 pick to get, um, say a team that consists of, uh, Chris Paul, um, Devin Booker, Zach Lavine.
You know, Devin Booker said, either or one of Christian Would and Brandon Ingram.
I could live with that.
I can live with a Chris Paul, Zach Lavine, Brandon Ingram.
Christian would line up if that means we're gonna training with the kids and make a push with veterans as long as we don't trade away future draft picks and I mean future.
I mean, not this year's draft picks, but 21 22 23 Going forward if you trade twenties.
You know, if you trade this year's draft picks, I'm okay because that's not future future.
That's basically the present.
You know, I'll be okay with that.
If that lands you, the veterans, you need toe win in the playoffs, right? And some would say, Well, why? Why would you trade away long term assets for a short term reward? It's just like I said, man.
We went through the Oakley thing.
We went through a Spike Lee thing, you know? I mean, we went through the kids getting booted out of kids, getting booted out the garden.
I mean way Go through the front.
The Latina thing with Spider Mitchell on a boy with bam.
I don't buy your own aboard.
You know, we go through a thing with with Knox, and Michael Porter Jr is on the board, you know? I mean, it's frustrating, man.
You know we wanna win eventually.
So picks 21 through 40.
I think these are all the same guys I think you could. Literally.
At 21 at 21 you can shake up the names and pull them out of the hat, regardless of team and you'll still get.
You'll get the same result, right? And that's no knock on on players talent.
That just means for 20 players.
The draft is deep on that level.
You know what I'm saying? Like like there's no slinky Fall off like you know we'll fall off like that.
You know what I'm saying? It z legit plateau for a while.
You know, before you fall off and then place that'll again, right? So place 41 through 60.
I think all these players are limited.
No, I don't see any upside any upside picks here.
like legit like No, no, Joe Kitsch is no joke it here, right? No, no.
You know what I'm saying? No, no.
Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky second round pick.
Because maybe a guy was out of shape or he got an injury or anything like that.
I think it's legit.
Um, I think it's legit.
Um, everybody here is probably limited.
And depending on where they go, depend will depend on.
I mean, depending on where they go will have a direct impact on how productive they are.
His MBA players.
So the Cohen thing with the Mets is frustrating me.
Man, this should already be done.
Um, and I've already mentioned So Sima, I've already mentioned that the Mets need to get, um, J T Realmuto Francisco Land door.
J T J T Realmuto, Trevor Bauer, Francisco and Door and George Springer.
That's all I want this offseason.
That's all I need.
I don't need anything else.
And then you're like, ****, that's a lot.
Yeah, we've gone the other way for a long time.
When was the last time the Mets signed a major free agent? I mean, Major, don't get access, but this doesn't count because we traded for him and then re signed him.
I mean, what was the last time I met? Side of legit? A legit free agent.
One could say we should have resigned. Anguilla.
You could look it.
Say we should have resigned.
Resigned Zack Wheeler.
I mean, he's home grown.
I mean, we got him and think about it.
We got Zack Wheeler from the Giants in a trade for Carlos Beltran.
So So we traded them Carlos Beltran, and they gave us their top pitching prospects.
That will, I think he might have been, like double A at the time.
And we brought him along with Stephen Max, um, was the Steven Metz Jon Niese Dylan G North in the guard.
Back when we were we were man, we were loaded with pitching man one time, and we were loaded, man.
We had a nice young call of talent, man.
We had this dude, Lucas Duda who I loved, man.
He let me down in the playoffs, so don't get Lucas Duda.
I love saying his name Gouda.
I love saying, look, do this name, but yeah, Santana And it was a sign and trade.
Right? Right, Man, it's about time for us to It's about time for the Mets to spend money.
I mean, legit, spend money.
And people think because Sandy Alderson is back, that it means we're gonna pinch pennies.
No, that's not true.
Because Sandy Alderson had the Oakland A's one time when the Oakland A's payroll and I know you're gonna laugh, you're gonna laugh.
Was Sandy Alderson was in the front office with the Bash brothers when it was, um, the third baseman I forget to do that came back, buff One year.
Um, Carney Something something.
And Mark McGuire at first.
Walt White's at short.
Jose Conseco it. Right.
Um, I think they may have had Rickey Henderson for a short time.
Um, they had Dave Stewart, man.
They were spending money, bro.
And they think they changed ownership or something.
Yeah, they sure did.
I think they went twice.
Did they go twice? Did they go? I think they did.
They go three times in a row.
They offer the diet.
They Yeah, No way.
Did But did the is go.
Did the is the is lost to the Dodgers in 88 right? And they beat the did.
They beat the Giants in 89 and then they got swept by the Reds.
I think they got swept by reds in 90.
They may have gone, like three times, understanding all of the sudden.
So Sandy spends money, Sandy. All? Yeah.
Sandy Alderson spends money, but he Sandy Alderson is a is a veteran.
So he does with the owner, wants him to do so.
The owner says, spend money wisely.
He will spend money wisely.
If the owner says pinch pennies, you pinch pennies.
You know, now, with Cohen and all this thing together, I like the fact that that Cohen Broad is bringing in a legit respected baseball man as opposed to Brodie Van Wagon in the first thing bandwagon and did was born in Robinson C****, and I was frustrated.
And I know this is a started out as the next thread, y'all but but, you know, you know how it is, you know? Yeah, I'm gonna get back to the next.
I just wanna wonder to get defined in the system.
But the first thing bandwagon and did was, um, bring in Robinson Cano and Oh, geez, What's the reliever Edwin Diaz? When the first things he did.
And in my mind, I'm thinking like, Why are you trading for Robbie Cano when you know you owe him, like, $100 million for nothing? Why would you bring him to the National League? And then Robinson Cano started raking towards in season this year.
So you don't know what we're going on with with Roddy.
But my thing is, is what do you need with Robinson Cano when you have Luis Guillermo Gear? May, um, Ahmad Rosario And, um what's my other guy? I forget his.
I keep forgetting his name. Man.
I keep forgetting his name for dudes And he the other ship Jimenez Andrews Jimenez.
So what do you need with Robbie Cano when you have Jimenez gear? My gear May and Yeah.
Okay, so So they Yeah.
So Simmons said, um, you're right.
They went to three straight world, Siri's 88 89 90.
They wanted, and they did not understand the Alderson, right? Sandy Alderson was part of the Oakland A's French organization, so I mean and I can't remember in what capacity I don't know if he was team president GM something.
He was a decision maker basically in that organization back then.
So you know, So you know, all the sun is a a smart enough guy to take, um, a team with limited resource is, um, to a championship.
Be respected enough around the game to still be in consideration for jobs in 2020 right? Because then because we're talking about 88.
So that was 30 years ago, right? So if you give him 5 to 10 years of baseball experience before that before he takes over as the head honchos, this dude has been in the game like 40 years crazy, right? That's crazy.
Yeah, that's Yeah, that's crazy, man.
So I'm excited about all this is being back, and I think he may be given, um, a Nebo leash, too.
Make a major deal.
And I think the first major deal that should be done, and I know you.
I know you're gonna hate me for it.
Oh, he was the GM. Okay.
Hey, thanks for looking that up for me, Sam.
I appreciate that.
Um I think the first major move to next to do.
And I know this is gonna sound kind of kind of productive.
It may be hustling backwards.
I think we should move Robinson Cano.
I think that's the first thing we need to do.
Because one of those kids, one of those kids, provides too much defense.
Either of the kids provide too much defense, so he's gonna be the president.
So So, what do we do for GM? Because Rob van wagon and is not it right being wagon and is not it, man? I'm sorry if you saw.
Did you see how I'm pitching? Declined in one year? Think about how I'm pitching.
The pitching is the one thing you could say about the Mets if you've been a Mets fan as long as I have.
And I know I sound like old man.
I sound like Clint Eastwood, right? Get off my lawn.
Oh, eso December.
What do you think? They're gonna put the band back together? So we're gonna put the band back together? Is what you're saying.
Eso Where's Eric Collins for this way? Gonna put in 14 4015.
Band back together all right.
You know what? You know what? And, um, you know whether whether people like this or not.
But, man, it felt good as a Mets fan, You know what I'm saying? And 2020 13 2014 to see us making moves in orderto win.
You know what I mean? Do you remember how hot we got in 2015 in August? You remember how that felt being the best, right? That's right.
The ground met Harvey.
Um, Daniel Murphy.
Daniel Murphy, man.
I mean, come on.
And and so the funny thing, the funny thing is, is as a Mets fan and similar, you probably will remember this, but you probably probably remember names like Kurt New one heist.
I know you probably remember those names.
You know what I mean? Um, what's the kid that came up? The kid that came up for? Yeah, right.
Exactly what you remember Daniel Evans came up for a cup of coffee with, like, 700.
Daniel Evans came up for, like, a cup of coffee, right? Well, you know what? You know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The thing about but the thing about the thing about Justin Turner is with David writes injury and the uncer*****y.
I think he wanted just continue to have faith, show public show Faith and David right in a public way.
Even though we all felt David Wright was probably watching, his career was over.
David Wright was salt of the Earth, bro.
I mean, he was salt of the Earth, right? Like well, like, why do you continue to pay David Wright and Jose Reyes walking free agency? You know what I mean? I mean, and in a perfect world, in a perfect world, Justin Turner develops at third base.
Jose Reyes is the batting champ at shortstop.
Daniel Murphy is at first and some mix of Ike Davis slash um, Lucas duda is it was at first for those few years.
Um, you know, and I didn't like the fact that that they gave up on Ruben Tejada.
You remember Ruben Tejada on day say in the rumor was Ruben Tejada had Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, All the sins hands were tired because of of the ownership, right.
You can't keep all those guys.
And if you have to build around the core of players.
You remember that? Oh, my gosh.
So and all the listeners defense, if you have to build around one unit, I guess you build around pitching and then hope you find position. Player.
The reason why I say that, though, was because because we were just getting rid of Jason Bay's contract.
Remember Jason Bay? Oh, that Sonny was terrible.
Yeah, I remember that.
And then and then we didn't even being Utley, remember that we didn't even being chased ugly.
We didn't even being chased Utley.
Right? So I'm not four pitchers throwing that players.
But, man, come on.
Jason Bay was, but Jason Bay was was and the M V P conversation in Pittsburgh for a couple of years, Jason Bay was in the NDP conversation, man.
What? What? What I have done and the same thing.
And leading the next podcast.
Guillermo said the same thing when he would have done is would have paid, um, Matt Holliday with a gay man holiday.
The bag did he? Did he Did he play for Boston first before he got here before he got to the to the mats? Or did he did he leave the Mets and go to Boston? Okay. Okay.
He just couldn't play.
He just He was off, man.
Well, Boston won the World Series.
Must have won the World Series after him.
Was he here? Oh, you know what? You're right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.
That I had the timeline.
A little money, but Okay.
Yeah, I think you're right.
I think you're right.
But But I wanted through the bag at Matt Holliday.
Remember? Matt Holliday got the bag from ST Louis, Um, would leave in Colorado.
I think I would have through the bag of him or not spend the money at all.
You know, I'm saying Jason Bay, you know, looking.
I know hindsight is 2020 but I think I would have went out and trying to get Donkey.
I think that's his nickname.
You were, um what's his name? Dude, That used to always kill us at Chez every time we played Cincinnati.
Adam Dunn. Is that his name? And I'm done.
Is that who this who he used to always hit home runs off the off the bear sign and right in right field.
He not? He hit a home run so far, he knocked out When the lights on the scoreboard on the scoreboard.
One year, I don't do the bag at him.
You know something? Hey, those collapses were really too bro, I think just ran out of gas.
We should have legit.
Yeah, well, so what do you do? Okay, so what do you do with Cliff Floyd and white dissolute? What do you do with them? Because when you have Beltran and center, do you go out and get another young outfielder who was who was a young up and comer at the time? I mean, Cliff Floyd and, you know, Cliff Floyd was always hurt, right? And what is this? A Lou didn't really show up in the playoffs for us or down the stretch.
More than salute to me was an excellent summertime player, right? But at the beginning season with his Cole, he's cold at the end of the season.
When when the temperature is cold, he's cold.
You know what I mean? Yeah.
So I mean, you know, those collapses were riel.
Those collapses were really man.
And you can't you couldn't really legit ask for offense out of Paul LoDuca because Paula Duke was I'm not going to say he was a excellent replacement for Mike Piazza, but he was steady, you know? I mean, how long have we been looking for a catcher? Right now? Presently.
How long have we been looking for a catcher? Travis d'Arnaud was supposed to be, um, the answer.
Remember, we got we got Travis d'Arnaud and Noah Syndergaard and the, um, in the trade we traded.
What's the knuckleballer? We used tohave.
The knuckleball that we had.
He won a Cy Young.
He was, like, 20 and 2 24 or something like that.
Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The funny thing is, is And that trade Toronto was like, I don't know if I want to give you I don't know if I want to give you Travis d'Arnaud, but you could have this kid Noah Syndergaard.
His control was all over the place.
Yeah, Toronto papers like, Yeah, I can have Syndergaard.
He's not going umpires out every night.
But this kid Travis guard No, you know, and then come to find out Travis d'Arnaud didn't pan out but Noah Syndergaard is stalwart in our rotation.
I mean, you gotta give Minaya credit, though.
You gotta give him credit for for him And all this in credit for finding synagogue because we legit had Jon Niese Dillon Gee, Oliver Perez, Um, Germany's Johnny's Dillon Gee, Oliver Perez and a whole bunch of young cats behind them.
Noah Syndergaard jp Graham.
Um, Steven Matz.
Um I think just Zelman may have been there with set.
You go here, then.
We set luego here five years ago, five or six years ago.
But anyway, my point is my point is no man Syndergaard pitched in the World Series in 2015.
And Jake the Graham also date the ground pitched in.
I think he pitched in Kansas City, maybe.
And Max, they had Max coming out of the bullpen.
Oh, luego and J.
Zelman came in 2016.
I was gonna say because the Gramm Syndergaard mats could photo all came in 2014 15.
Yeah, Yeah, yeah.
And the income photo.
And Conforto with Brandon Nimmo.
Was Brandon Nimmo up? Was he was he was in the big with the big club and 2015.
So outfield waas uh, Conforto and left Suspect is in center Granderson and right.
We had David right at third.
The dude that cried was playing short for us.
I can't e can remember all this stuff.
And then, like certain stuff, I just draw a blank.
Um, the dude that plays shortstop for us.
He cried when he thought he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers.
And then he and then he came out and hit the game winner.
Yeah, we're Florida's.
Yeah, man, That's right.
That's right, man.
I wish we two kept that kid too, man.
But you know what, though? Truth be told, man, um, all you can really do is get kids shots.
And if it don't work out, man, you know you can't really feel bad about it, because that's a little Flores play.
He was the opening day shortstop for somebody this year.
I can't I think it's either San Francisco.
I think it might have been.
No, but they have Brandon Crawford.
Um Flores was the opening day shortstop for some Arizona Arizona.
Right, Right, Right.
So what do you think about about the kids we drafted here recently? Way have a kid.
I can't remember his name.
Uh, let me see, man, we've been I've been at this for our I didn't really need to stay this one.
But I man talking to your dude talking to y'all get carried away, man. Sometimes.
Yeah, I just got a I just enjoy it.
I enjoy it, man.
That's what it is.
You know, I got tape tape falling down in the background, man.
It's because, um, one of the kids moved out this year, and I'm turning this place into to my, um, studio slash office.
It's the dream, bro. It is the dream.
It's like next show turned into Met show. Heyman.
Yeah, is blah orange tears.
I'm telling you, it's blow orange tears is literally blue and orange tears, bro.
As blondes his I started out talking because the bears, blue and orange lost on on, you know, in a prime time game and and start out talking about the MBA.
Stroll into Nick's and then mix.
I'm not talking about the island this, bro.
I'm not. I'll understand.
I'm not I'm not.
I understand it all.
I'm I'm from New Jersey.
I'm a devil's fan.
And I know the Devils have been absolutely garbage recently.
You know, to be honest with you, I was an Islanders fan before Colorado moved to New Jersey, right? You know, you remember old Brendan Byrne Arena with the nets.
Used to play it all that stuff growing up in Jersey City.
They usedto the schools used to give us tickets.
They like a man. Come on, man.
Somebody please go to these games.
If you made the honor roll, we'll give you five tickets.
Five home games.
Yeah, Rangers are, man.
Uh, that hurt my heart dog.
That hurt my heart, man.
The ranking fan.
I know, because they got the number one pick, right? The Rangers got the number one pick in the draft and took like somebody's I was gonna say, took somebody's son.
Of course he took somebody's son, but I think they took somebody like a famous ex players son or something.
I can't remember.
I can't remember what? That what? The guy's name is, but but yeah, man, that's that's That's where we are, man.
I mean, we legit legit off.
They say he's the next Crosby.
So, basically, New Jersey is in trouble.
Basically, New Jersey is in trouble, man.
Well, I won't lie to you.
You know, when it comes to like those hockey sweaters, man, I think that the the the classic, um, hockey sweaters.
Man, I think you have to go with New Jersey.
You know, old buffalo sabers love the Chicago Blackhawks.
Um, love the Red Wings road jersey.
I think they were read on the road.
Um, you know, the L A kings.
The black and silver L A Kings, man.
Not the not the blue and whatever, whatever and whatever.
Um, yeah, um, the white Rangers jersey was always nice, you know? But anyway, I'm a man.
I'm gonna wrap up here.
I'm gonna post in r J. Barrett.
Kevin Knox video.
Yeah, they moved on.
Yeah, it's about time.
It's about time, in my opinion.
But I'm gonna wrap up here, and I'm a record.
Kevin, not this video, and it's gonna be about data to not with people, not slander.
Like people say RJ Barry can't shoot.
I'm about to nip all that in the bud in in a few minutes.
Thank you all for, for for hanging in there with me for a little while.
I want to get on and just have a conversation with y'all, man.
Just just topping up about a few things, man.
That's all I'm gonna get off.
How that y'all probably tomorrow Peace.
