his cars and you hear me? Bender, Can you hear me, then? That's interesting.
Anyone watching? If you could hear me Another glass.
Now we'll face Jaak Peterson, who had the solo home run in the top half of the second inning.
But it's a new ballgame.
Raised within one run.
Peterson lays down the bunt.
Now holds back on the 81 curveball.
You hope? Can you hear me Or now? No, you're on.
You know, that's the thing.
I'm not on me. That's that's why it's so weird.
Oh, one second. Let me check.
You hear me now? Yeah, I hear you.
Now. Right there.
My bad. Sorry about that. Okay.
Um, would you like to match up the TVs right now? Yeah, sure.
Do you see glass? How? His face? Um, no, I do not.
It's after yet that.
Okay, so then you just don't match it up.
Yeah, just pause and then we'll do it. Yeah.
Now the 02 Peterson pops this one up to center field, left center field.
Margo comes over, let me know.
Right When you see Barnes, by the way to the plate right when you get off of that Fox new you're not Fox News.
That Fox thing. Yeah.
Let me go right when you get off of it.
Like right away.
Okay, there's Austin Barnes who walked and for his first plate appearance.
The first pitches in for strike one up and in.
Well, you know, one that's a ball low 11 Okay, Austin and Barnes watches.
Strike two the glass and looking to retire the first two batters in an inning for the first time tonight.
The 12 that's a ball blowing outside Austin Orange watches ball to glass now with 74 pitches.
And I mentioned earlier that glass now would finish with between 70 and 85 pitches that might be around that ballpark to to Barnes Chopper foul.
Mhm, They said There.
You there? Yeah, I'm here.
You get a you can you can talk between.
Yeah, of course.
No, I'm just trying toe the TV when you click.
When you told me about Barnes, I clicked on pause and it brought me back 10 seconds and I'm behind you.
10 seconds and I'm trying to match it up with your call.
as Renfro just made the catch.
Barnes flies out to right field rent for a so glass.
Now, with his cleanest start to unending tonight, here's Mookie Betts.
Some reason this is not working.
I can't I don't know this remote.
Maybe let me know when.
Um, maybe I'm ahead.
Let me know on the first pitch of the movie at that.
When you when glass now throws the sorry about viewer.
It starts all the viewers, um, for having to do this.
Let me know when Zunino catches it.
Really dropped it, but yeah.
Okay? Just got it. Dropped it.
Perfect on the 10 Mookie Betts fouls that one away.
You don't go ahead.
Yeah, but Mookie's one for two tonight, Batting 500 of these two at bats we saw last night that he didn't have you had a very quiet night.
Went over four from the plate.
Um, let's see if you could turn it around tonight.
11 is ball high.
Curveball to one.
Mookie. Batting first in the lineup tonight.
The 21 is a fastball up and in Mookie Betts with the hitter's count 31 We'll see if Glass now could go 123 though, when the Dodgers and well as now, honestly, is not looked like himself, throwing 80 pitches in three and two thirds at the moment and the 31 Mookie Betts flies this one into right, and Renfro is there to make the catch.
So a great ending for Tyler Glass.
Now, I said earlier in the broadcast.
70 to 85 pitches, and he has 81.
That may be it, but I think he'll start the top of the fifth.
Do up, though for Tampa Bay, it's Manuel, Margo, Hunter, Renfroe and Joey Wendell.
The 456 hitters who started off the bottom half of the second inning weren't able to score, but the Rays did score two in the third.
Game is a good one early on.
Yeah, and let's see if we get some lead changes.
We got a lot of those last game to say the least.
Um, starting in the fourth, there were a lot of so I believe, starting in the fifth.
There are a lot of lead changes.
Fourth, the fourth was the first inning that the race scored, and throughout the game it was just back and forth, especially in the bottom of the ninth, when the Rays were down.
One run on got those two runs on an error.
A swell is a hit by Brett Phillips.
Phillips had not had that bat for over a month.
Um, is that a storyline or what? He's He's quite the goofball, too.
If you've seen interview from a few years back when he is with the Roy.
Oh, yeah, always laughing.
I think that he is.
He is not, You know it doesn't show up on the SAT sheet.
What what he's done throughout the World Series.
He's probably been like that the entire time, just so excited for his team.
And he just really came through and the most clutch way possible that give credit to to cure my or that.
Oh yeah, KK got really unlucky, went right over his glove when he was playing second base on, and then, once again, Brett Phillips hit one right between the shortstop and second base.
Not particularly closer to PK, though, Um, Kiki wasn't able to come up with it, and then it went down to Chris Taylor.
Chris Taylor, Um, saw that arose.
Aranda was rounding second right when he was about to have the ball.
So it was a clear throw out, even though Arosa Wrana's fast at third base.
Hey, bobbles! It arose.
Arena, right? When is getting to third? Right when I looked at this John Boy thing, right? One, Taylor picks the ball back up.
Rose Arena hasn't even touched 30 yet, so it was a clear throw out as well at home plate, UM, toe.
Add on to that arose.
Aranha fell rounding third, so it was once again a clear throw out at home plate.
But Max Muncey's throw to Will Smith Will Smith Maybe, you know, trying to get the tag down before having the ball.
And unfortunately for the Dodgers that got by Will Smith and Rosen ran, it was, was able to score and, like we saw last night, pounds the home plate.
If you remember that, then, and the Dodgers? Yeah, they had two chances.
Thio get a Rose Arena is the first pitch to Margo is a ball high and outside.
Margot had the leadoff bunt in the second inning.
Base hit 10 from Kershaw.
That's in for strike one.
Margo's gotta jump out on that.
You know, you don't get to see a pitch that right down the middle, um, at, like, 92 miles an hour, one for one tonight from our go back and forth and Kevin Cash's lineup and the 11 is a curveball.
And the dirt Kershaw kind of lost his rhythm in the third inning as well.
Yeah, completely given up those two runs.
You got really lucky that Kevin Cash and the Rays didn't execute the hit and run perfectly because Rosa ran a fast runner was on first base.
The 21 is a ball.
Oh, so Margot ahead in the count 31 he is been such a valuable part of this race came throughout the regular season and the postseason.
And I believe this is the same umpire group, Um, the behind home plate umpire.
As we look at this next pitch right here.
31 Margo A cutting a miss account is full and going back to the umpires.
Um, you know, there were some bad, you know, they have been pretty consistent, but there are a few bad calls, and Brett Phillips is, um um stand at home plate if you remember the one that was low in a way on him.
Remember Ben? The pay off pitch That's a ball low in the dirt? Yeah, it was the It was a second.
The second strike in that bad it was a little too outside is Margo walks on six pitches.
A good lead off that bat from Argo.
He's on first for the second time tonight, and now it will be Hunter Renfroe who hit I loath, saying it the longest ball of the World Series.
4 44 to deep left, second deck.
The former SEC ballplayer.
We'll say that is a good drive.
444 ft as Margot steals second and the throw gets away from Chris Taylor.
Margot will now go to third is Chris Taylor falls down through the third, is not a go still second and then takes third.
He hesitated as well.
And that completely scared there.
Yeah, Margo, I don't know why.
You know, in baseball, one of the biggest things the manager can tell you is if you're going, you've got to go.
No hesitations air necessary in baseball, and that's how you get out.
See, Margo looks at this.
Chris Taylor is running as fast you can to the ball.
He looks up season.
Chris Taylor is not there and then goes, if he sees it, get away.
He's gotta look real quick and then go.
He was just in there.
Got really lucky that he is very speedy.
Um, you know, he would have been there in their very hey would have been in there with plenty of time if he went right when he did.
Um, you know, you waited a couple seconds on the heavy and was just lucky again in there.
I think they're reviewing this, aren't they, Then? And how about Chris Taylor, though? Is second error in the past five innings the costly, our last night.
And it looks like Margot is possibly off the back about half a second.
Yeah, that's the thing.
He was in there completely beat the throw, but let's see if he was off the bag.
That's he was off the bag on his second on.
His slide to second base is well, so that's gonna be really interesting.
And actually at the plate of third was Roberts has, and this is a huge go ahead. Sorry.
E think his jersey is touching the base and the jersey is part of him.
So by that rule, he would be safe at third.
But the original call, the call on the field was that he was safe.
But again, we wait for the review a lot of mhm.
And in baseball, we all have to remember.
Remember that it is hard to overturn a play.
You know, you have to have evidence.
If there's if there's some sort of possibility that he was off the bag, maybe right there.
You still can't call him out.
You have to know he's off the bag.
You have to see it.
It has to be obvious.
You can't overturn with slight evidence and we're gonna take a little bit of time Here.
And though was that on? So the right hand looked like it could have been on third base while the rest of his body was often.
Then as soon as his right hand came off, Then the middle part of his body goes back to the base.
But here is the call.
This is key and he is safe.
We'll stay at third.
I think that's the right call.
You didn't have 100% evidence like exactly.
And that's the thing it did.
Look, he was go off of that.
If he was definitely off the bat, that is obvious.
Overturn, you know, since he was only slightly off the back.
You can't make that call.
It's harder to overturn than keep the play as is.
And now the Tampa Bay Rays have no outs.
A man on third almost definitely going to score here.
That's you know, a man on third with no outs is usually, um, the highest percentage opportunity for a team to score.
Obviously, 01 is a curveball in for Strike two.
Renfro's job in this ad back either hit a ground ball to the right side of the field or hit this one deep enough into the outfield.
The tag Marco and Renfro doesn't have a lot of power.
As we know we just the Onley thing he cannot do is strike out here.
Even if he hits it on the ground, there's a possibility.
Margot, with the speed, can score, but he cannot strike out here.
So free out for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Like I said, he can get out.
Just cannot strike out the 02 pitch.
That's a ball low outside, one to the count.
Kershaw Onley at 59 pitches.
Um, Glass now at 81.
Let's see what Kershaw ends with after this inning.
So Margot, the runner on third, nobody out.
That's a ball in the dirt.
It looks like Barnes stops that with his bare hands off the off.
The tools of ignorance, the catcher's gear to to.
And one of the biggest things that that was going to bite the Tampa Bay Rays in the but here would have been base running like a Rose Arenas baserunning last game.
Almost got out with his tumble.
But you know, the base running is actually helps the Tampa Bay Rays here being ableto score.
Two runs. Rosiana went first.
Ah, home on that last play with Brett Phillips last night and right here, Margo goes first, the third on a misplayed by Chris Taylor.
So baserunning has been key for the Tampa Bay Rays here.
I don't the 22 is the ball in the dirt on account of our Roberts with a what lines? This one.
Foul off the netting and left field, foul territory and account stays. Fold.
That's very interesting, you know, they're starting to put netting in.
This is a very new stadium, obviously, Um, first year that has been played in, Um, you know, we're starting to see that netting around the hole area of the field.
Um, usually it was just around behind the plate area, but now it's around the whole field going into left and right field.
Let's see this payoff pitch is a ball lowing in Renfro walks and Kershaw and a jam.
Runners on the corners, nobody out.
And here comes Joey Wendell, who struck out looking in.
His first at bat seemed that it was high at first glance, but he has.
This is the perfect chance to redeem yourself with runners on the corners.
Nobody out off the best pitcher in baseball.
As we go to commercial break, it will be like, well, probably be about one commercial.
Yep, they usually do that.
One commercial, one whose amount visitors don't they do that, then try to squeeze it in on Fox Yep.
Fox will do anything for money.
E mean any major network.
Well, CBS for the Super Bowl.
Whenever the the Cardinal scored as we get back to Joey Wendell here after the commercial break.
Runners at the Corners.
Tonight his pitch usage has been slider, fastball, curveball in order.
Kershaw Kershaw toe First.
Renfro stands up safe and a good at bat from Renfroe.
He stretched that at bat out and walked Joey Wendell to for 12 in this world.
Siri's Yeah, he hasn't had a lot of opportunities.
Thio hit as he didn't play last game, either.
Um came in to pinch run, though.
At the end of the game, the first pitch toe Wendell is Oh, just inside.
Good miss from Kershaw, Wendell ahead in the count, one out.
And that's a great call from the umpire behind the plate.
Um, this umpire umpiring team has been very consistent with their calls.
Besides, that call on breath Phillips last night, everything has been very consist.
Now the 10 Joey Wendell sends this one into shallow center.
Seeger there to make the catch for the first out of the fourth.
And now you have a Domus up who, you know, as of the last few games, has looked more confident That plate, including a few extra base hits but double play, ends the inning.
The Raises would be out with no runs, and Kershaw's to be very careful with Renfroe.
We know that Renfro isn't the fastest person on the team, but still has a little bit of speed.
Um, everybody on the Rays has a little bit of speed, even Ji Man Choi.
But going back to Renfro, Kevin cast might be thinking about Renfro running on a pitch going to second.
So there's no opportunity for a double play here, but we'll see what he does.
Kershaw has to be very careful as they can to the view of the field.
Kershaw throws back two months, he check on Renfroe, got the high Devil Rays socks tonight is the Rays.
They're wearing their light blue Sundays.
Yeah, Donna said the majority of his balls to left field pulls them, so we see the shift on and the Domus rips the first pitch foul down the third base line.
The count almost hit Margot.
Good that Marco is in foul territory.
If that hit him in fair territory, he would actually be out.
So that is a key thing.
Even in high school.
They teach that Teoh players that you have to be in foul territory and a Domus watches the 01 in for Strike two.
Neither is ideal, but better a strikeout than a double play.
At least you have Kevin Kiermaier on deck, and he it's definitely longing for this opportunity.
He's homered twice, including this World Series, including once off of Kershaw.
So Margot has the lead off of third.
Renfro on first, the Domus behind in the count.
02 Big pitch for Kershaw.
He is set the 02 a.
Thomas chases at the outside curveball, terrible at bat, strikes out on three pitches, and now the Rays are toe leave, two runners stranded with and at one point, nobody out to be a huge problem.
Yeah, those air to unacceptable outs there, um, you know, striking out, not the end of the world.
You don't want that to happen, but like you said, better to strike out than a double play now to be Kevin Kerr Meyer.
Oh, and Don is really it's throws his hands at that ball.
Horrible, at fact, to be completely honest as we see in the dugout that he's very upset.
So runners on the corners for care.
Meyer, who did single in the third and then scored on the Yandy Diaz triple.
That was the first run of the game for Tampa Bay Care.
Meyer a cut and fouls that one back one and Karen Myers in the eighth spot.
That's a very interesting spot to put him in.
Um, where does he usually playing? The didn't wasn't in the, uh to spot last game.
He hit 90 he at night.
God, he usually gets, uh, seventh or eighth, but mostly eighth, which is it's good to have all these.
Margot will steal home. He tries Thio.
He has thrown out.
Now I think he was out.
Um, they're going to review that as we see Margo signal for the review.
Really? I That was It was a smart play, but he just Yeah, he was.
Oh, I think that hey may have slid under, but may No.
Maybe it's, ah, hard viewpoint there.
This might be the viewpoint we see it from, actually, No, he's we can't even work.
Yeah, that's an even worse than you think that the oven mitt makes a difference? Because Oh, yeah, it was definitely out.
Yep, Completely out.
It's gonna be hard to overturn something.
Um, yeah, I don't even think they're going to be reviewing that.
Do you think they're gonna be reviewing that? That welly? It probably will be.
I think Kevin casted ask for a challenge.
And if he's out, that would mean that Tampa Bay will have caramel or lead off in the bottom of the fifth.
But Strand, two runners on with nobody out and not to mention Joey Wendell.
But they pop up the shortstop in a Thomas strike out on three pitches.
And then you're my are not even able thio C two pitches and that at that and Margot, we know he has a lot of speed, but he really misplayed that.
Something that I've always been taught, especially when we went to I m g was if you're stealing home, which was one of the most dangerous things actually to dio.
So it's better to do that when he's going into the stretch, Um, toe possibly force a box or something like that.
But when you're stealing home, you have to take a couple secondaries, a couple secondaries, a few steps, a few steps and then bolt.
You get closer and closer and closer and then bolts.
Instead, he just took his lead in, vaulted closer and closer and closer and then bought home.
So, you know, it was very weird that he did that, that maybe he was just a spur of the moment is like, You know what? I could make it because we know that Kershaw gets really when he gets set, he brings his arms all the way up to the sky and brings them back down as we know that something famous from Kershaw.
So maybe he thought that he could make it, but, um, the only you know, he was obviously beating.
Maybe this slide will help him out.
So we'll see after the review.
And I feel like this.
Siri's has been like a throwback to small to the era small ball.
You know, you have, um, stolen bases, safety squeezes and attempted steel of, you know, toe home base.
Um, very interesting.
Yeah, Margot, it looks like he he saw an opening and he could track his.
Kershaw was taking his own sweet time on the mound, and he wanted Thio.
Yeah, really take advantage.
But world Siri's I mean, I feel like that.
That could have been, you know, successful.
If you were to take a couple of secondaries instead, he just, you know, took his late and stayed there and went from his rest toe to 100.
Um, instead, he has to go to 20 then 30 and then 100.
Um, you know, And yes, they're not going to review this play. Margot.
Obviously distraught about that.
We see glasses on the mountain with 81 pitches.
Top of the fifth.
Seeger fouls this one on the ground.
The dice gets it on one bounce with.
Now there's another look at the play.
Yeah, the board look at it.
Looks like, really could have slid on her butt.
Yo, one curveball outside 11 And the saddest thing about that is that's really taking the bat out of care.
Myers hands, who's been one of the hotter players on the team had a single tonight.
Who's one for one? Um, you see, you're cutting a miss on the 82 curveball.
12 Glass now retired his last four batters, including a 123 inning in the and going back to that play that's happened to me before.
Um, you know, I love hitting.
That's hold on after this pitch.
Yeah, I love hitting.
It's one of my favorite things to do in the sport of baseball.
Um, you know, when somebody stole home, there's two outs in an inning and it was actually the bottom of when we used to play the seven innings.
It was the bottom of the seventh, and he stole home on, was thrown out, and that was my last opportunity to bat in that game.
And, um, yeah, I just didn't get it because he took the battle out of my hands.
So, um, you know, doing that just essentially takes the battle of Sarah Meyers hands, who once again has been a very successful player at the plate.
Um, thus far tonight, one for one billion to to in for strike three glass now got seeker looking fastball right down the middle on glass and all of a sudden show looking like his old self.
The is six strike out of the night.
I don't know how many times they need to show this play.
I think we got the point.
Jay Gilbert cutting a miss on the first pitch at 98 and I just wanted to hear what Joe Buck had to say.
And he says the exact same thing is you been, he said, Every time I look at that play, I get a different perspective in a different possible idea that he could have been safe.
Eso Yeah, Joe Buck expressing that same thought as you've been the old one.
Justin Turner sends this one foul, the left field, foul territory seats.
Nice souvenir for more than likely a Dodger fan.
Oh, yeah, I honestly think he was safe.
I think he tagged his helmet before he got it around to tag Margot.
That's a very close play, isn't it? It's the other.
I don't see how it would have been overturned.
So e on the field that often changes the game, the one to Justin Turner fastball alone outside.
Now it's a 22 count with Max Muncy on deck glass.
Now with the 90 pitch marked the 22 curveball in the dirt stopped by Zunino.
We'll see if there's any bullpen action in the next few seconds.
With nobody on one out, I feel like Kevin Cash is gonna put all his faith in glass now to get out of the setting and then put somebody in in the sixth payoff pitch Turner fly ball into center field.
Cure Meyer there to make the catch for out number two.
Glass now is seeking back to back 123 innings after really struggling in the first three, and he would be the first Rays pitcher this world Siri's to throw five orm or innings.
As we know, Kevin Cast loves his bullpen, but also, when we think about it, these raised pictures have Onley been getting in trouble with this Dodgers lineup early on.
And then they started settling, and then the Dodgers come right back in the later innings.
This month, she watches ball one.
It was a fast ball in the dirt months.
He is one for one, and he also walked and its first that back quickly to the mound goes glass.
Now one out now is in for strike one.
It looks like it may have skimmed the dirt, but it was a little low.
But, you know, it was I wouldn't call that a controversial call.
It's hard to see with the eye.
Obviously, that was that was in there.
