So the Green Bay Packers suffer their first loss of the season last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it was not a great one.
Did not look good that game.
The defense didn't look good.
I honestly say it was the worst game the Green Bay Packers had had all year.
And obviously, I think I think that's Packer fans.
We aren't too worried because, I mean, we're still foreign one during the season.
We're still one of the top teams in the NFC, but I want to go go to my coz, Sam on you.
You weren't able to make it last year, but I was able to get your points in.
You were very high on the Green Bay Packers going into this game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
You had them winning 34 to 31 seeing what happened last game, what what truly went wrong for for the Green Bay Packers against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? I think a lot of it was the lack of chemistry and I mean, I think you had them losing the game.
I would expect that I did not expect him to get blown out and you mentioned before before we went on the air.
Um, one of Roger's one of Roger's two picks that he threw end up being a pick six.
Um, am I buying this contending Buccaneers? No.
But the way the Saints are playing the Buccaneers very well could win this division.
I think they have a really strong chance to, and especially now that Michael Thomas has hurt, Um, I think he he actually really reinjured himself in practice.
He hurt his hamstring earlier in the week.
Um, so he might even be out or questionable.
So that doesn't help.
I mean, they're probably really happy that they went out and signed Emmanuel Sanders, um, off the market this offseason.
But I think a lot of it had to do with the chemistry of the offense.
I mean, we didn't see a ton. I know.
I mean, Davante Adams coming back from injury, um, was obviously great to see.
But we didn't see that chemistry from the offense, and you mentioned Preston Smith to be one of your disappointing players.
Preston Smith has a done a ton throughout the first few weeks of the season piece.
Other than that, other than I mean, not even just talking about this game against the Buccaneers.
Preston Smith has had a kind of a disappointing season right now.
Thus far to say the least.
That definitely has an going into this game with one thing I feared was the defense shutting down Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady having a great game and what happened? Those exact things that I stressed on we cannot let toe have happened, happens and and I truly believe it'll be anomaly.
I mean, we saw it last year with Matt LaFleur his rookie year.
We came off a bye week against San Francisco and we got obliterated on Sunday Night Football, 30 38 to 8.
And what happened the rest of the season? We built up a winning streak that went in all the way till the NFC championship game, where we would eventually lose to the San Francisco 40 Niners.
That same team we lost you.
And I think this has this has the momentum toe build into something like this.
I mean, we look at Green Bay schedule, you know, besides the week seven opponent that we have in the Houston Texans, the rest of schedule, that doesn't seem too bad.
I mean, you look at week eight, you got you got the Minnesota Vikings.
I totally think it's a winnable game, especially with how how much they they're struggling right now.
You got the 40 Niners Week nine, which it's definitely gonna be more tough now, especially with how they played against the L.
Rams at this 40 Niners team can start to rebound.
This could be, Ah, legit game.
But then kind of afterwards, you got the Jacksonville Jaguars, that za winnable game.
You got the Indianapolis Colts in Indy.
I think that's a winnable game.
I mean, Philip Rivers almost gave the game to the Bengals with his costly picks.
I think that that's a winnable game.
Uh, now I will say Week 12 Lambeau Field against the Chicago Bears.
That could be a game that could forecast the energy North because a lot of people are forgetting.
I mean, we aren't but the Bears air 511 and there right now in first place in the NFC North and is not pretty with how they're winning.
But a win is a win.
And you know Aaron Rodgers said that Ah, lot last year, we may be winning ugly, but a win is a win and your Chicago wins the wins.
That'll be a big game there.
But for weeks, 13 to 15.
Philadelphia, Detroit, Carolina.
Three winnable games and then the final two games will probably make or break out.
Green Bay will stand in the division Tennessee in Chicago.
So you look at Green Bay after this loss of Tampa, they could very well go go on a solid winning streak.
You know, you could very well see Green Bay winning, winning nine of their next 11 games.
You know, with some of their losses being to San Francisco one week, you could see them maybe splitting with splitting with Chicago, or maybe even losing the Tennessee.
So you could still see a really good season in Green Bay 13 and 3, 12 and four.
You know, I don't think there's a panic fun at all Now.
I will say if the Green Bay Packers lose this same fashion to the Houston Texans, I think there's a problem and we'll have to make a move at the trade deadline.
But being foreign one, I mean, we're still we're still mentioned as one of the top teams in the NFC.
I think will be perfectly fine.
But this this is like like Rodgers kind of said said in his post game.
This is this is gonna be, ah, humbling experience is like it's kind of good that we got our ask this kid, because now you know, we don't have to feel ourselves anymore.
Now we just could go back to what we were originally and and I will say, Sam, you definitely hit it on the mark.
The offense was not in sync.
There was zero chemistry at all.
It seems like Rogers tried to force the ball to Davante Adams instead of kind of spreading it around, you know, like he did in the first four weeks.
I mean, the first four weeks, you saw the offense clicking on all cylinders.
You would see you see Alan Lazard make big plays.
You would see NVs make big plays.
Aaron Jones would have a couple of big runs.
Jamal Williams will have a few big runs.
But this game against Tampa, we seemed to reliance on Davante Adams to try to get him inclement it into the game instead of doing what was working the first time.
I mean in the beginning part of the game.
We're up 10 nothing and everything looked good.
We're like, Okay, things are looking good, you know, we're starting to get back into it.
But then the pick six changed the game.
Once that pick six happened, it sort of changed the momentum.
And then the next pass player to Rogers would throw another pick, and that was essentially the ball game.
One thing I will say and this is something that Green Bay has to do better at when we're trailing in a game, we have to show a little bit more fight.
It seemed like when we were down 14 to 10 21 to 10 it seemed like we kind of gave up and and didn't really show short fight.
I think what we will have to do later on in the season if we are trailing by double digits, if it's on Lee by 10 or 11 or 14 points, we're gonna have to show a little bit more effort to try and get back into the game.
But do you think it's anomaly of a game? I don't think it will happen again on this is a game where we just simply have toe learn.
Learn from what happened.
Uh, take Tampa Bay seriously.
I mean, you're not really buying Sam.
You mentioned you weren't buying Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a contending team.
I'm certainly buying them.
I will say if Tampa plays like this, if the defense just play like they did it again, if they could keep this game up, like if this is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the rest of the season.
Oh, my gosh, they are a legit team toe.
But, I mean, we see teams have a good game one week and then kind of like a goose ache the next.
So, hopefully for Green Bay, this is a learning experience of hopefully this.
This tells Matt LaFleur.
Hey, don't realize so much on Davante Adams.
Do what you did beforehand.
If he's open, target him.
If he's not, go somewhere else.
You got Erin Jones that you could.
You like the past game? Just go ahead and utilize himself.
I I do believe this upcoming game against the Houston Texans will will be a good one, and that will kind of lead into the next topic.
Let's talk about those coming matchup.
There's a few things.
There's a few things I want to say before we go into the Texans.
One you mentioned right away.
But the bye week.
This is the second straight year the Packers have got blown out.
Um, in the map, the floor era, um, off the bye week.
They went out and lost 37 8 against the Niners last year.
And I think this is the bounce back in and you go and you went through the rest of their schedule.
I think Tennessee or I think the Niners are, um, or beatable team right now.
Um, then the Titans and not a lot of people were really high on the Rams.
I mean, including both of us.
I mean, we both had the Rams sitting at the bottom of division and look at the NFC West there, arguably the most competitive division in the NFL right now.
And I I don't I think I said this because I mean, I know you had the Vikings making the playoffs.
I did not, but we both have the same record nine and seven.
I obviously, that's not gonna be a case.
Uh, another thing to point out is one.
Obviously, Anthony bars out for the air.
The new hunters done the new hunters having season and season ending surgery, um, their defense hurting.
They drafted Jeff Gladney, who is talent who was very talented, but they need a big body corner.
Jeff. Glad he's undersized.
They need I mean, Mike.
Mike Hughes is the oldest guy on their on their secondary in their cornerback room, like they have three rookies.
Camera dance, lor, um, Jeff Gladney and I was holding Hill.
Or maybe it's two of them.
Um, Cameron Dancer and holding Hill Andi have my cues over there as well.
Um, there's the secondary needs help.
And I know a lot of people aren't like and they just traded Yonica gac way to which is to me, that's absolutely ridiculous.
You you lost every single riff in you don't have the new hunter for the year.
Your edge Rusher Court your edge.
Russian course hurt.
You don't have any edge rushers.
You don't have any like elite edge rushers.
You had Yannick and Gac way you had the new hunter.
You had the chance to have all three of those guys, including Everson Griffin and you trade Janek and Jack Way, and you don't even get like a first or second round pick for him.
Rick Spielman is probably one of the I think he's one of the worst g m's in football.
I mean, a lot of people talk about, obviously, Bill O'Brien.
Uh, they talk about David Gentleman.
Nobody talks about how bad Rick Spielman is.
And like my, I don't I personally don't think Mike Zimmer and I think this might be where we're on separate pages.
I don't think Mike Zimmer is.
I go to the coach and for the status of their defense.
Mike Zimmer is a defense of minded coach.
They just extended him, too.
I don't think they had much of a choice but to extend him because that defense is depleted.
They lost so much, and obviously the injuries don't help.
And like, obviously, there's nothing like Zimmer could do about that.
But like even when those guys were healthy, Mike Zimmer waas disappointing.
And now everyone is.
We're seeing all these teams saying Tank for Trevor Lawrence, the Giants, the Falcons, the Jets, Um, and now the Vikings, Vikings.
I think they're too No, I had them going.
I hadn't go ahead, was going to and all that.
I had a splitting against them.
Um, now I think this team is winnable.
I I think I still think we have the chance to go 13 3 or 12 before, Like you mentioned, too, because I think I think we I think we split the Bears.
I think we lose against one of those games against the Bears.
And I wouldn't be surprised if that's, um, the first one because I don't see us ending the season on a loss to the Chicago Bears.
And I think that's that soldier field as well, because I think the first one first years at Lambeau First ones at Lambeau, Week 17 is that a is that soldier field? And, yeah, and the first.
And I do think we go and take a loss to Tennessee.
And you mentioned earlier to Tennessee is looking really, really nice right now.
And like, I mean, you were even surprised by that.
I had I had Tennessee beating the build.
I didn't expect it to be a beat down, Um, but they just derailed the bills.
Um and Josh Allen wasn't on his game and the Titans were outcoached and they were outplayed.
I think it was, like 42 to 17 or something.
Um, but I don't see any concern.
I think if we lose to the taxes there is.
I think if we beat the Texans by a, like, blessing the possession or like, seven or three or seven points, I think there is a level of concern.
As faras um, we could get into the trade deadline.
I don't think we make any big moves.
I think if we make a move, um, it's not gonna be anything big.
I don't think we get JJ Watt.
I don't think we get Will Fuller.
I wouldn't be surprised if we go and get.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers don't make a move like Look, look at the off season that the Packers are about to go into with, Like what Bruce Ball and Brian good concerned about to go into? Um, I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers are movers.
I think they should make a least one move.
Um, 11 guy that I would really, really, really want is Cornyn, Williams and the Jets did make him available for trade.
Um, I would take him over receiver right now, and I know um, are receiving corps is hurting right now, but we do have Davante Adams back.
And even without Davante Adams and Alan Bazaar like we've seen before Rodgers, it's proven like he has proved it.
Rogers could make almost any receiver look good.
I would rather go out and trade for a D tackle than go out and sign or go out and trade for a wide receiver.
Look at the look at the look at the draft this year.
I mean, this guy, um, that I used to write with he had this theory.
Er, like all these teams this year took their wide receiver early, like the Broncos.
But the Eagles, the Falcons that calls the Niners, um, the Vikings Will we see those teams pick a receiver early within the first two rounds, and I'm not getting my hopes of what the Packers taking a first round wide receiver because it never happens.
But we are in a new era.
But anything can happen, I guess.
But But yeah, yeah, you definitely make make a lot of good points there.
I also want to be surprised if the Packers make any big moves.
One thing I would say.
And this is gonna be an interesting one that that I'm gonna throw out there.
What if the Green Bay Packers, if they don't like what they see, impresses been? What if they trade press and Smith and a draft pick to the Jets for Quentin Williams? What? What would your thoughts be on that if the Packers went all in on that? A draft pick? And what What? Uh, Preston Smith and Preston Smith and a third rounder? I think that would be.
I think that would be a little bit too much.
I think that be I wouldn't I wouldn't package Preston Smith.
I would give um, like a mid round draft pick and maybe like sticking a player or multiple or, like one or two draft fixed.
Granted, Quentin Williams waas a first round pick.
He was a top five pick in the draft and his draft class, so I would imagine that each of the Jets are gonna want a decent asking price for him.
But I do think putting in Preston Smith and there is because Preston Smith is talented.
Yeah, he's having a disappointing first few games of the season, but he is talented, and I don't think people should undervalue.
I don't think people or even the Packers, should be undervaluing him.
If they do have him.
If they do listen to offers for him.
All right, that's those are definitely good points there.
Let's let's move into to the actual week seven.
The Houston Texans.
I am actually going to be at that game in person at NRG Stadium, so I think it's gonna be a great game toe, see, But let's kind of get into How do you think the Green Bay Packers will will fare up against the Houston Texans just just in general.
Do you believe, Sam, that the Green Bay Packers are gonna put the beatdown on Houston? Or do you think Houston is going to keep it? Ah, close game.
I don't think it's gonna be like a beat down 40 plus point like we've seen, like against the felt like we've seen against the the Lions or the Vikings.
Um, uh, I think I think they win by at least two possessions.
I think I think the Texans can.
I think the Texans have the talent to keep it close for a while.
Um, and to me, I think the only guy to stop is, um, their run game.
And not just not just David Johnson, but as well as to Shawn Watson.
Alright, definitely good points that I think I think this should be.
I think this should be a big one for the Green Bay Packers.
I think there should be a double digit win.
Two scores, 14 maybe even 17 points.
The Houston Texans should have a chance in this game.
If they do, it's just gonna be because of the shot, Watson.
But I will say the Houston Texas air definitely gonna look at the blueprint on what the Buccaneers did on a defense to simply say.
Okay, if we could just pressure Rogers and they can force those throws, maybe you might have a chance in this game, but I think like like like you and I are pretty much data.
I think this is gonna be a bounce back week boy agreement, Packers.
I think they're gonna win big big in in this game, which then leads into the next topic of discussion who we believe will have a big game for agreement, Packers on the offense and the defense side of the ball.
We're going to start off on the offensive side of the ball.
I am going to go first.
I think it's gonna be Aaron Rodgers.
I mean, I've said Aaron Rodgers a lot year in and year out, but I I think he's gonna He's gonna come into this game angry.
I mean, you look at he had probably one of the worst performances in his career last week against Tampa Bay.
I mean, didn't even throw a single touchdown pass, had two interceptions, did not look good, look flustered, look frustrated.
I think he's going to go into this game against the Houston Texans, and I think this is gonna be the Aaron Rodgers that we saw through the first four weeks of the season, where he would just simply look CIA Open.
Guy and him, uh, make big throws.
I think this is gonna be a big game.
I think this could be a game where you could maybe see Green Bay put close to 40 points.
You know, I truly believe that this could be one of those games are we Look at the Texan secondary is not, is not great.
The past pressing is great because you got J.
J. Watt and Whitney merciless.
But after that, it's it's kind of open field, you know, open season.
You know who do you really believe any of the Texans corners are gonna shut down? Davante Adams? No.
Do you truly believe that they could? They could stop Erin Jones if he's in the past game? No.
So I think this is gonna be a bounce back game for Rogers.
I have Aaron Rodgers as my offensive player of the game for the Green Bay Packers.
Sam, who would you have as your offensive player of the game for the Green Bay Packers? So, my guys, I'm gonna pick Davante Adams.
And I'm gonna pick the same very similar reason to you when you alluded to the Texan secondary.
Um, because yeah, they have.
Watt. They have been dark McKinney.
They have Whitney merciless.
They have rookie Ross black lock, but their secondary, like you mentioned, is depleted.
Um, they think they still they still have Gary on calmly, but Gary uncommonly hasn't done a ton.
Gary in Economy has.
In my opinion, he has yet to live up to his draft pick where he was drafted in the first round.
Uh, that secondary is hurting greatly for the Texans.
Um, and I think this is a really, really nice bounce back game.
I think it will be for Davante Adams.
Definitely great, great points.
If I had to pick up off of the player besides Aaron Rodgers, I truly think it would be Davante Adams.
I think I mean, we look at I mean, you and I are pretty high in Davante Adams.
We both believed in Montana's is one of the better receivers in the NFL Pot five.
He did not look like that last game, but that's because he was out for a couple weeks getting implemented in.
I think this could be a game where we saw.
I mean, we saw Davante Adams playing Week one.
He was targeted 70 times, caught 14 had over 150 yards and a touchdown.
I think this has the potential to be one of those one of those games where de Bonte I was just seems unguardable when he makes the catch, he's gonna get the yards after catch.
I think it's gonna be a great game there.
Let's kind of go to the defense of side of the ball.
I'll start off with you, Sam.
Who do you believe? It's gonna have a great game for the Green Bay Packers on the defensive side of the ball.
I think it's gonna be gyre.
Um, the I'm more worried about the run game with both David Johnson and **** Shawn Watson that I'm with the passing game.
Um, Kenny Stills hasn't lived up Thio.
Um, his value on, um, on the Texans When Will Fuller is healthy.
Will Fuller is lethal, Um, and with a healthy will Fuller now, well, Fuller, obviously, is the guy to watch, and I think we'll Fuller will be the guy.
Um, He'll Jr will be lined up against, well, Fuller most of the game.
But I'm I'm not really worried at all about the Texans passing game.
Fuller, to me, is really their only threat.
Um, they have Randall Cobb in the slot, but Randall Cobb, to me, isn't very consistent.
Um, I know some people want Randall Cobb back on the Packers.
I don't I saw something a while ago.
I don't know if it's true or not, but it was, uh it was a tweet or something.
It said it says something that Rogers like wanted.
Randall Cavity, Mrs.
Hey, wants him back because of that chemistry.
Um, I mean, you know me, man, I'm not a huge fan of bringing back former Packers.
For the exception of Tramon Williams, I really wanted the Packers to bring back to bring back Chairman Williams, Um, this past offseason, but unfortunately, they did not.
But my guy tow watch.
My defensive guy is, um j r.
Because I think the run game will be a much bigger threat to the Packers for the Texans from the Texans than the passing game.
Good points there.
Made about Alexander.
I mean, they have a lot of weapons on the offensive throw to it may not be ah, Premium and DeAndre Hopkins, but they got many guys.
You got Brandon cooks when healthy.
Will Fuller, Kenny Stills.
You got forced all adoptions there.
I'm gonna go with more of the address.
Sir, I I'm gonna go with Kenny Clarke.
I mean, I I had I had Kenny Clarke last week because I thought it was gonna bounce back.
I think he's gonna truly go back to form this upcoming week against Texas.
I mean, the offensive line is not good for Houston.
I mean, they try to trade for Laramie Tunsil.
The better the offensive line, and it doesn't look like it's gotten any better.
I think they're going to get to the quarterback.
I think this defense is gonna fully bounced back.
You could also make a case for the Darius Smith.
But I'm gonna go with the interior Manning. Kenny Clarke.
I'm going with a man who just got paid his extension during the off season and and to kind to kind of prove prove his worth for an extension.
Obviously, I'm glad we be extended him, but I mean, you could always get your extension.
But if you don't play well, then it's kind of why would we extend you when we have other guys to worry about? I think this is a game where Kenny Clarke, he's gonna prove his money's worth, you know he's gonna prove that he earned that extension that Kenny Clarke isn't just a late bloomer.
I mean, we've seen throughout Kenny Clarke's career, where he's like a no show, the first the first two thirds of the season.
But when that final third of the season comes, that's when Kenny Clarke shows up.
When we paid him the extension, we expect him to show up each week, and obviously, you know, when he had his injury, that that didn't truly help out.
But I think this is gonna be the game where Kenny Clarke makes his name as one of the better defensive tackles in the NFL.
I mean, you look at the top defensive tackles, you got Aaron Donald up there, Chris Jones, just just to name a few.
But if Kenny Clark wants to be up there with those guys, he's gonna need to have a big game performance.
And why not against the Houston, Texas, where they have one of the worst offensive lines in football, where you could make a big, big impact on the game and especially everybody is highlighting the Green Bay Packers run defense at the problem, which is a fact the run defense is the problem, and why not in this game, you're going up against David Johnson and Duke Johnson.
Take this game, shut them down, prove your money's worth and prove and proved to the entire NFL.
That this could be a Packers team is is a really legit team because, ah, lot of people are looking at the Green Bay Packers and the way they got beat down against the Bucks and they're back is the same old Packers beat up all the bad teams but kinda know their place against good teams and and won't compete in the NFC for this horrible.
This has to be a big wake up game toe where they're like All right, Green Bay's back, Let's let's let's put them in the conversation.
So I got Kenny Clarke just because I truly believe he has the ability to shut down the Houston Texans.
And if he doesn't have a good game, then it could.
It could be some big problems, but you also made some good points.
Sandwich gyre Alexander.
From a secondary standpoint, I mean, John Alexander was not good again against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He you do not do well.
Uh, it was pretty much picked apart by Brady and stuff.
But once again, that's a Hall of Fame quarterback in Tom Brady.
You know you're going up against the Shawn Watson, who's a great quarterback.
But I I feel like if the Texans didn't trade for DeAndre Hopkins, I would be more concerned about this game.
But since they don't have Hopkins, it's kind of okay, so what you got? Will Fuller Brandon cooks? Kenny Stills? Okay, I could just put gyre Alexander who? I mean, you stated Sam could be at all pro level.
I mean, if he continues, we'll play.
That is on. You could be All Pro.
I'm not too worried.
I think John Alexander will take care of his business.
Hopefully, he does, because this needs to be, in my opinion, a must win game for for the agreement.
Packers in general, let's move on to the other side of the equation to the Houston Texans side of the equation.
Let's go on the offensive side of the ball and we're we're gonna we're gonna play, play, play this game.
So in streams passed, we would pick a player, uh, like a dominant player like, for example, obviously bears on defense. Clue.
But we're gonna try to go.
And offensive threat.
Obviously, you and I were both pick DeShaun Watson because he is pretty much healing threat on the offense.
But let's go with an offensive threat.
Besides, to Shawn Watson, I'll go to you, Sam.
Besides, to Shawn Watson, who would you be the most concerned with others? Houston Texans offense? Considering our run defense, I'm going with the other threat to the run game.
And that's David Johnson.
And when the Packers playing the Saints, I think the felt yeah, the Falcons as well, because I remember before that game, um before one of those games, I remember coming on and saying, um that I wasn't a huge fan of Tyler, Tyler, Lancaster and Tyler.
We saw flashes of Tyler Flashes of Tyler Lancaster that game and Kingsley Kiki started the popular started toe started to produce a lot more, Um, which is, which was great to see with the absence of Kenny Clarke at the time.
But now there it's already starting to struggle again when the when the run games on their game, um, they could be good, but They also tend to lose their momentum really quick.
Andi, I think David Johnson is.
David Johnson is better than both the running backs that the Packers played last week.
Yeah, I think I think Ronald Jones is leading the I think he's top five right now for Rushing.
I think he's at, like, four or five, um, for rushing yards this season, right? So far, right? And now, um, but I think David Johnson is an even bigger threat, and David Johnson can produce in both the run in the passing game.
And the Cardinals fell in love with that early on.
Do they? They love.
They love running backs like that.
That's why they went on trade for Kenyan Drake.
Um, and they went out and drafted.
You know, Benjamin and Chase Edmunds.
Who they now see is they have now seen as a starting caliber running back.
Um, but David Johnson, to me, is outside of the Shawn Watson.
Thio the Packers.
Definitely good points made their on David Johnson.
Besides, just on Watson on the offensive side of the ball, I would have to pretty much agree with you salmon and world with David Johnson are run.
Defense is atrocious.
I mean, if we're be, if we're being honest, Green Bay as, ah whole, their offense is great.
Their secondary is great, but the run defense is the main liability.
And for a defense, you have to be good against the run defense.
Have a chance in any game because we look, if all these offenses see, like, oh, green *****es week on the run, all you gotta do Run, run, run, Keep the ball running down their throats.
We moved the ball down the field and then make a few a couple passes when needed, and I truly think it.
Houston Texans on fire.
Packer's defense obviously besides you, Shawn Watson, because I think we all know just watches the main threat, but we had to go with someone else.
David Johnson is that guy, alluding to the points that you made Sam about are run defense is not really that good.
If if we are not able to stop David Johnson on the runner or even Duke Johnson, for that matter, if we can't stop this run game, it's gonna be a bad day because you look at you got to Shawn Watson as a quarterback.
It's not like, you know, in previous weeks where you know all you got, you have.
You have Matt Ryan, Kirk, Cousins, Matthew Stafford.
It's like, I mean, we we can't afford to have that.
But when you play great quarterbacks, when you play a hall of Famers like Drew Brees or Tom Brady, your run defense has to step up and has toe has to play well.
Or even when you play great quarterbacks like we're gonna play a great quarterback into Shawn Watson after Shawn Watson and sees that the run game is working, he's not gonna go away from it.
I don't think Romeo Crennel would go away from it, either, if he sees that the run game is being successful against this week run defense, he's like, You know what? We're just gonna keep running the ball if David Johnson has success and we're gonna keep with it.
So my main guy that I watch out for on offense like you said Sam, it's going to be David Johnson because if David Johnson has a good game, Texans aren't going to go away from there, just going to keep on feeding him the rock and all things are going to go are gonna go bad for for that defense for the yeah, for the Green Bay Packers defense, Let's move on to the Houston Texans defense.
What player your most feared about there I am gonna name a no brainer choice.
I'm a J. J. Watt.
Watt is the guy that the Green Bay Packers are gonna be circling on there on the film room and say, We got to find a way to stop this guy And I hope Bachtiar place against the Houston Texans because if he does not, that it's gonna be a big problem.
Because if I'm being truly honest, besides David Bakhtiari, I'm not really sure who else is going to stop JJ on that line just because he's a monster.
When JJ wants healthy, he's probably one of the best defensive defensive players in the NFL.
I mean, the dude one, I believe.
Three defensive player of the year awards.
Obviously, I don't think it's the same prime J.
Watt, but I mean a healthy J.
J. Watt is better than no J. J.
So he's gonna be the main guy.
I am most concerned with all the defense on the ball because we saw what the Buccaneers did toe Aaron Rodgers.
They pressured him, they made him forced the throws and our offense wasn't clicking.
J Watt is able to get pressure to the agreement packers and to the toilet in general, then then it's gonna be a bad day with agreement, Packers offense.
I direct that same question to you, Sam, on this Houston Texans defense, Who would you be most concerned with and why? It's interesting, Because I thought you were going to do this scheme again and not pick JJ Watt.
You could also go other other cases as well.
Yeah, I'm gonna I was gonna pick JJ Watt as well, but I'm going to go with a wild card pick and I'm gonna go with Whitney Mercilus.
Um, Whitney Mercilus is coming off a two sacks and for combined tackles against the, um against the Vikings and he, um, the week prior against the Steelers, he was off five combined five combined tackles, eso he's been consistent thus far, and J.
J. Watt is a great pick.
I'm J. J J J. Watt is a no brainer.
But if we're playing the game without J.
Watt not picking J. J. Watt, I'm gonna go with Whitney Mercilus.
I mean, yeah, definitely, definitely a good good points there.
I if I if I didn't have to pick what it would also be merciless.
And also, it's kind of who else to the Texans really have on the defense.
Besides, what and merciless it kind of really isn't anybody else.
And it's sad because the Texans used to have a legit defense back when they had Jadeveon, Clowney and Tyron Matthew with J.
J. Watt and merciless.
That was a legit defense.
I mean, back in the day, the Houston Texans used to be built on their defense because they didn't have a quarterback, and now it kind of seems like it's the opposite side now.
Now, if they have a quarterback, but now they don't have a defense.
So it's kind of like if you use the Texans, come on now, pick and choose you.
You gotta have both.
You can have one or the other and you know it's it's just tough to see.
I mean, it's tough to see the downfall of the Houston Texans because you hear some Texas last year they looked like a team where they could make a legit run in the A F.
C. I mean, they were up 24.
Nothing on the on. The defending champion.
Kansas City Chiefs and Bill O'Brien mucked it up with this bad coaching decisions and bad trade decisions and horrible moves as a manager.
I mean, you look at it.
Could you imagine you drafted your Davian Clowney with the number one overall pick and you don't even get a first round pick in return.
When you trade him, you get DeAndre Hopkins.
You don't want him on the team because you don't want to pay him.
You trade DeAndre Hopkins, and you don't even get multiple first round picks.
Instead, you get a second round pick and David Johnson, and what's tough for the Texans is it's not like they have the first round pick that's going to the Miami Dolphins because you traded for Tunsil and can you still so you don't have any pics? You don't have a solid receiver, you're pretty much putting it all on your washing and it's it's not really a good recipe for success.
So if you're Houston, obviously, obviously it's tough.
I mean, you talk about a fall from grace.
I mean, you talk about Houston was a team where we thought they could compete.
So now they're pretty much back to square one.
Back to the bottom.
The Texans air interesting now because they don't have Bill O'Brien, who is obviously another GM.
And you mentioned you just mentioned they don't have their first round pick, But come draft night in April, could this be a team that we see trade back into the first round? They don't like they.
They have a new g m.
Um, and they know it's not Bill O'Brien, so they they might have a front office with brains.
Now, um, so could this be a team that trains back into the first round? And, um, I think they've got the draft capital, um, to do it, depending on what it is, and depending on where they're picking, I think if they do it, they probably go after that.
The bottom, like two or three picks.
Um, otherwise, I don't recall, like where exactly? They're picking right now.
like, even in the second round, Because if they're picking, if they're picking early, I would assume they go.
They go after someone like a receiver because, well, Fuller's entering free agency.
But the Texans, they're gonna be an interesting team.
Um, come draft night.
Especially now with Bill O Brien.
Who was there? GM is now gone.
Yeah, it will definitely be interesting to see how how it goes from there and from the Houston Texans.
Their next year's draft picks.
They got a third round pick to fourth of 5th, 3/6 and a seven.
So maybe they don't have a ton of draft capital.
The trading first? Yeah, it's gonna be very You have to package you have to package of a player with that.
Yeah, you definitely would.
It's a bad It's a bad spot.
E can see them training and back into the second round.
I think they've got I think they've got the leverage to do that.
But I think the first round, obviously with the picks you just named, I think it's going to be a little bit tougher.
Yeah, it definitely.
It definitely is gonna be very, very tough there.
Uh, let's move on.
To our honest opinion on if the Green Bay Packers we're gonna win this game and give out some score predictions, Um, let's go.
Let's start first.
With our honest opinion, I'll install our first and saying, I think there's gonna be a game The Packers are gonna win.
I honestly believe this is a game where, where we're just gonna be clicking on the offense, the defense is gonna do its job, and I wanna be surprised if it if it's a big victory, you know? I mean, last time we played the Houston Texans, I believe in Houston.
I believe it was 2012 and we won like 42 to 27.
I think it has the potential to be that big of a game where we just blow them out by double points.
And that's that's the end of that.
Um, I'll kind of go to you, Sam.
How how high is your confidence on the Green Bay Packers coming out with the victory over the Houston Texans? I think this is a perfect opportunity for a bounce back game, and I understand when the Texas plant I understand when they played the Jaguars.
It was the Jaguars. But it was.
It was the first game without Bill O'Brien, and Shawn Watson went off the the Texans offense wasn't sink.
Obviously, the Packers defense is completely this.
Packer's defense is completely different from the J 60 events, but I think they win.
I think they are going to say 34 to 20 Packers, and I think that's a perfect bounce back opportunity.
You're definitely right.
Definitely a good bounce back opportunity there.
I'm gonna give my score predictions.
I think this is a game where Green Bay puts a 40 spot.
I'm going to say the final score for the Packers when I believe it's gonna be 42 to 24.
I think I think it would be a big game from the Green Bay Packers offense.
I think I'm just gonna be back.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had a game where you know we we'd see him back.
You know where he throws three or four touchdowns close to 300 yards.
Monte Adams has a touchdown or two.
Erin Jones runs it in for one, maybe two defense gets a pick.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if it's if it's that kind of game.
So you and I are very confident in in agreement Packers coming out on getting this victory.
Um, let's close it out with I mean, we have the trade down like coming up.
We kind of mentioned the players that we would most likely want.
You and I both pretty much agreed.
Hopefully, we could land a Quentin Williams Williams type of player or a receiver like a Will Fuller Kenny Stills or a golden tape.
Let's kind of move into a draft prospect to close it out.
The Green Bay Packers.
They their projected as of this point, Toby in the mid to late twenties.
Uh, Sam, if you're the agreement Packers say, if you're picking from the 26 toe 32 slot, who would you want the Green Bay Packers to select? So I'm not going to get my hopes up for a wide receiver.
Like I I would love random or, um but I'm going to go D line.
Um, I mentioned I'd rather have Quintin Well, I'd rather trade for Coin and Williams trade for receiving right now.
Um if we had to trade for one of those positions, I'm gonna go d tackle and I'm gonna go Christian Bar More from Alabama Christian farmers.
65 of these 3, 10.
And, um, I think he's going to take a big leap.
He already has a think.
It's nine total tackles right now, Uh, six total tackles and two sacks right now for the season.
Um, and he's versatile.
Um, he's versatile, He's a run stuffer.
I think he moves really well for his size, and I think he would help a lot.
I think he'd make an instant impact for the Packers defense run defense.
Well, definitely made a lot of good points.
I am going to go with the different.
I am going to go with Jeremiah.
Ah, Whoa! Suit, Cora! Cora Amoah, the linebacker out of Notre Dame.
The reason why I am rolling with that pick is obviously we way have come on Martin in the draft as well, this Christian Kirksey.
But then it's kind of kind of you know who else So it's one of those where you know if if he falls to us in the mid to late twenties, I would simply say, Why not? Why not go after Jeremiah Alot suit Komura toe where? You know, if we decide to move on from Preston Smith during the off season, we could have that guy that we drafted and we could, and he could simply replace what Preston does.
And then we could just have Rashawn Gary Rush the quarterback.
So I do believe it is gonna be more of a defense of side again.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
I would love for them to draft offense.
But, I mean, we look at besides some of the receiver talent in the draft besides maybe a Rondell more or like a Jamaar chase or or like a Jaylen Waddle.
It's kind of who Who else is there like there really isn't any solid receivers to go after? Oh, this this wide receiver classes.
It's already looking pretty deep.
I mean, it is it is deep.
I don't get me wrong, but I think in the mid to late twenties, like last year's draft, we I think we could have could have went balls and took Denzel Mims.
And with the first round pick or or other issues, but Or Brandon, I uke.
But I think for this draft, like if we want a solid receiver, we'd have to trade up to go after, like, a J, like a Jaylen Waddle kind of guy.
But I think if we're if we're act, if we're gonna be in the mid to late twenties, which I hope we are, I think we're gonna be, I think remains that good of a team where you know we're gonna be in, we're gonna be competing, you know? Hopefully 28 29 30 31 32.
You know, let's hope we're and that area.
But I wouldn't be surprised if we go.
If we go, defense is out of the ball.
If we don't like what Kirksey has to offer in his first season, maybe go after Jeremiah Oso caramel with linebacker out of out of Notre Dame.
You know, I think I want to be too bad of an option toe to go after or or maybe even just any offensive piece, any offensive piece facade at the tight end.
You know, I don't think we need any more tight ends.
I think we're perfectly fine with that.
I think we're fine with Tanyon Sternberg, Lewis and Jaguar when he's healthy.
Um, yeah, that that's my That's my prospect that I believe the community Packers should should go after if he's available.
I think if there's, I think, if anything, with the Tide and I think we would go and sign one because we drafted Jay Stern Burger last year, we drafted Josiah Agora.
I don't not have in Order day.
And if there's one thing that Matt Lovelorn loves on his team, it's F Lettuce.
It's athleticism and versatility.
He fell in love with society.
Gora wants to use him in that Kyle you strike role.
Jeremiah possesses a lot of athletic ability, and he's a guy he's been a guy in order to, and that's come out of nowhere with his speed and athleticism.
Make those big place and you mentioned receivers.
They're multiple there.
I mean, last year, this past draft was deeper than it has been in years.
But were you mentioned you Mark Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Rondo More Devante Smith, Rashaan Bateman.
I'm unrestrained brown sage. Surat.
Look for this guy toe.
Pump his way up the boards tomorrow and Terry from Florida State.
I'm probably missing more, um, crystal lobby from Ohio State.
Um, there's so much and I think the Packers I really hope the Packers take one within the first two rounds.
Um, instead of waiting on guy, no good possessed a lot of expressed a lot of faith in our wide receiver room.
Um, and obviously Reggie Bagel Tin was impressing early during his offseason Birch to a workout early, and I think he got cut, went to the practice squad called up, But I really, really like this wide receiver class.
And I'm really hoping, um, really hoping they take one of the first two rounds.
There's another on Terrence Marshall Junior.
I just saw the Packers mocked to get him.
I think I checked last night.
Um, they were mocks ticket there, mark to get tense.
Marshall Junior from L s U um, I could go on and on.
There's I mean, I probably missing some.
Um, there's Drake London.
Drake London played, um, I don't know if Trickling is a sop****re and junior, but Drake London played. He played.
I think he plays basketball Well at U. S. C.
Oh, There's another athletic ability guy, but I'm in raw state Brown, the brother Economia State Brown.
I'm in raw state.
Brown would be awesome tohave Mhm.
Yeah, he definitely would.
I mean, any anything on the offense would definitely be helpful as well.
I also wouldn't mind if they got another linebacker as well.
Just just to add some sort of to sort of policy toe simply say, like, Look, just because you're Christian Kirksey, you've been the league for a little bit.
Just because you're come on, Martin doesn't mean that means your job is safe.
So just to give below, but a competition competition here, even a corner, even a corner.
And I remember if I've talked to you about this but like going into the draft this year, the cornerback position was one of the pics that I would stay away from in the first round.
I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a corner in the first round, and it's not my first position of need that I'd go after, but I wouldn't be surprised if you pick a cornerback early, especially if we lose Kevin King, um, to the free agency market.
There's guys like Kayla Farley, Sean Wade, JC Horn, Josh Job, Taison Campbell.
There's multiple quarterbacks available that they could draft within the first two rounds.
23 rounds? Yeah, there.
There definitely is.
But it will also be it also be, ah, how will Green Bay approach in the the offseason? Depending on where they finish, whether it whether it being being a Super Bowl champ, whether it being a Super Bowl appearance, NFC Championship or divisional or disappointing wildcard finish what the definitely see where Green Bay finishes there.
Because I think as of this point, I mean, we hope Green Bay could make it far.
But we've seen teams start off strong and record, but then get bounced in the first round of playoffs.
Look at the Baltimore Ravens last year they finished 14 and to everybody thought they would make a legit run out of trouble.
What happens there First round opponent against the Tennessee Titans up in the first round by they get obliterated and they're out individual round, so hopefully we'll be in the mid mid 20th.
So, uh, mid twenties toe the early thirties, hopefully we're gonna be one of those final teams remaining and hopefully green Bay does well in the draft.
You know, our first round pick last year.
Obviously, everybody knows Jordan love.
I think if we would have went differently, not a lot of people would give us any flak for the draft picks, because I do love what we have in a J.
Dillan at Round two.
I love what the Guara offered at Round three.
I love how we went went after some lost offensive lineman throughout the draft.
I love the small Martin edition, and I haven't heard Matt.
Let's say when Kemal Martin is healthy, you know he's gonna be a guy that's going to start, so that gives me a lot of high confidence in them.
I just think everybody is gonna forever look at that first round pick and simply say, You could have had Patrick Queen who's on pace for defensive rookie of the year.
You could have had Brandon, I you you could have had I mean, obviously Denzel Mims, instead healthy, But you could have had Denzel Mims.
You could have went after Mawr and try to get Justin Jefferson.
That first round pick is always gonna be or what could have been until he gets out there and and shoots the field.
You know, until Jordan love place, everybody is gonna look at that pic and say What could have been? You know, you could have had point.
Who would help his defense out instantly? You could have had go ahead.
You could have had Brandon IAC, who's making strong strides with the 40 Niners.
You know it, Z what could have been.
There's all there's that.
And there's also I also think this could be a draft class where we look back and say 23 years from now and say, Wow, gut was right and from from the draft.
And I also feel like people are maybe starting to change their mind, kind of starting to change their minds a little bit of like how they actually view the draft class, because we've said this time and time again, where Gute is setting up his team and like the way he's him and Rust ball are, um, doing their off season with free agency in the draft.
They're sending this team up so they could build for the future and compete at this while still competing for Super Bowl contention and If you look at last year's draft, it's looking really nice.
Rashan, Gary chased Ernsberger, Elton Jenkins, Darnell Sa***e and I.
I also think I mean the first pick of our day three was Kamal Martin and he has the perfect body frame for his position.
And he was already like, you mentioned he was competing for a starting job and if they can, if they could get him Christian Kirksey, Chris Barnes like fully healthy to produce, like very similar staffs are the same, like consistency.
That is going to be a steal for us.
Mhm, Yeah, it definitely is going to be a steal.
Hopefully, this is a game where Green Bay Packers bounced back and have a great game because I do not want to fall for into, especially with how red hot the Chicago Bears are.
I mean, I looked at the Bears at first.
I'm like, Yeah, frauds there.
31 They're going up against a ****ing years.
They've got no chance and they beat Temple.
It's like, all right.
Brady had a hiccup.
They're gonna get the Panthers.
I'm not sure they could be Carolina, and then they did.
Now they're five and one in the first place.
So this is a game where Green Bay is gonna look and simply say, Okay, now, Now the pressure is on.
Now we got to keep pace with the Bears until we play them in week 12.
Because if the Chicago Bears can keep this pace up, then they're gonna be those teams that are gonna be in the running in the NFC North.
And it could be like 2014 where remember in Week 17 when we played Detroit, the number two seed was on the line and whoever wins, that was number two and whoever loses falls to five.
It could very well be a situation where the Packers Bears game Week 17.
That could decide who wins the division.
Who's going to be potentially, Ah, one through four or a 537 So we'll definitely have to see how that phases out there.
Hopefully, Green Bay, like I stayed before in state again, will bounce back against the Houston Texans.
You and I are very high on that.
We both believe there will be a double digit victory and we're both very high and in our draft prospects, hopefully all goes well, hopefully, Green Bay has a successful season and hopefully they get a solid first round pick.
There's one thing I do not want to have happen.
I do not want to have another joint of love.
Incident happened where all signs pointed one way and they went Theo.
So hopefully they get this first round pick.
Correct. I think they will.
I think they'll look at what they need if they lose Kevin King and free agency.
I like what you said.
Sam and I'm getting a corner.
I think they'll go that route.
If they have Kevin King and they don't like the weapons that they have at their receiver, they might go with the receiver route as well.
And if they wanna further enforce competition a linebacker position, I wouldn't be surprised if they selected my prospects.
So a lot of a lot of good options agreement Packers could go after and a lot a lot of good things here coming up against the Houston Texans and that my friends will concludes today's stream of the title town show.
I would like to think at Buck's mom Ohio, for the 50 tip.

Yeah, it's definitely gonna be a good thing that the Wisconsin Badgers air back.
Hopefully, hopefully it could reverse the trend of recent Wisconsin sports teams.
I mean, I mean, they get a lot of bad rap where we make it far.
But then they lose the big game.
Hopefully, the Badgers.
We're gonna look at the Rose Bowl devastating loss against the Oregon Ducks and bounce back this upcoming season.
Then hopefully your Wisconsin Badgers dethrone Ohio State.

Hopefully, they can qualify for the first ever college football playoff appearance.
I think it'll be a great thing for for for Wisconsin, for their program toe, for them to have that happen to them and other things that I like to add.
