Hello, I'm Lawrence on, and this is SportsCastr News Tuesday Morning Edition Going over the Monday Night Football game, Guess what it was the Dallas Cowboys versus well, the Arizona Cardinals.
And with that press got out.
There was a lot of pressure on Andy Dalton to try to make this Cowboys offense get rolling, however huge, let down by the rest of the entire Dallas Cowboys team.
Dalton had no chance of winning, and neither did the Cowboys.
And I will get into why that is.
First off, Kyler Murray.
The score is just It's not something that you would 38 to 10 and you would think that Arizona threw up 500 yards.
But in fact, Kenyan Drake, 20 carries 164 yards.
Kyler Murray 10 carry 74 yards and Chase Edmunds five carries for 23 yards.
That's what killed him offensively, not to mention four.
Yes, countem or turnovers by the Dallas Cowboys to Zeke Elliot fumbles and to any Dalton interceptions.
Now, to be fair, what are those interceptions that Andy Dalton threw was not on him whatsoever? The wide receiver fell down at the top of this route on his break.
There could have been a little bit of Ah call for possible pass interference, but it was not called.
It was called an interception.
However, I would not put that on Andy Dalton.
Besides that, Andy Dalton actually played quite well.
UH, 34 54 266 yards and that touchdown.
Now remember, four of the Cowboys drives ended with a turnover.
Zeke Elliot did not help matters because of this two fumbles.
He was benched for the for like half the game, while Tony Pollo came in and ran the ball 10 times for 31 yards, 6 12 carries for 49 yards, and Rico Dowdell had three carries for 13 yards.
Andy Dalton was under pressure the entire game.
I can't believe how story it.
He looked as the offensive lines surrounded him.
The defense was around him at all times.
He never had much time to throw the football.
He was sacked multiple times.
I believe, three times pressured at least eight times and hit multiple times as well.
There were a few of these where he could have been sacked yet somehow was able to escape it.
And, uh great play extending, you know, run.
However, there were drops, bad drops.
There was drops in the end zone.
There were drops by the running backs on little dump off passes.
The Onley player besides Andy Dalton that played halfway decent in this game was a Mari Cooper for the Cowboys.
He had seven catches on 10 targets for 79 yards and that lone touchdown the Andy Dalton threw.
I would say Tony Paller did a decent job, but he only averaged 3.
1 yard to carry.
This offensive line for the Cowboys is awful, and it only made it worse when their last starting offensive linemen, Zach Martin, went down in the first half with a concussion.
Now they are nothing but a makeshift team at the offensive line.
Andy don't look really good, though.
As a quarterback, he was out there throwing the ball very well.
Showed he had plenty of arm left, uh, made pretty good decisions for the most part.
But those two interceptions loom heavy on him, even though one of them are is not on him, they're still on the stat sheet and it will loom heavy over him later on in the future.
But you can't turn the ball over four times to the Cardinals and expect to win.
I mean, they did their job against Kyler.
Murray Kyler Murray, on Lee threw the ball about 40% completions.
Nine of 24 188 yards, two touchdowns, 188 yards.
One third of those yards came courtesy of DeAndre Hopkins, one third, and what I mean by that one play is one third of that 188 yards.
DeAndre Hopkins caught a beautiful pass right over the middle, not 10 yards away from the line of scrimmage.
Little rub route.
He catches. It turns upfield.
Dallas Cowboys was then in a race to try to catch Hopkins as he sprinted down the sideline for more than 50 yards after catch.
Pretty simple Hopkins.
That was two of his target.
That was two of his catches.
He had out of eight targets.
Christian Kirk did the best, receiving two of his three targets for 86 yards.
One, of course, was a monster, and Larry Fitzgerald had three of his four targets as well for 22 yards.
But the Cardinals defensively just outmatched the Cowboys the entire game.
They were playing very fast and very physical with the Cowboys all game long, multiple personal, foul pass interference penalties.
Like I said, there could have been an extra pass interference penalty when one of the Cowboys and the cornerback was fighting at the top of his break and he fell down and he ended up getting the interception.
That could have been another one.
However, that was not the case, but many players, all of them Patrick Peterson, the other Peterson on another cornerback all had passed interference penalties and yet still didn't help the Cowboys.
Why, because of that front seven of the Cardinals was doing so well against the run and in pass rush.
Because of how bad this Cowboys offensive line is, Dalton and Zeke had nowhere really to go nowhere.
The only reason that Tony Pollard had even big positive yards at 3.
1 was because of one breakout running had where he gained over 10 yards on that carry.
Had it not been for that, he would have been about two yards a carry.
Zeke Elliot power helped him But Zeke needs to learn to keep that ball high and tied at all times because when he's out there running the football, he makes a break.
That ball comes out and that's when it is susceptible to being knocked out.
And that's what happened on both times.
I think this is a game that we could look back on, and I think that honestly, honestly, all the Cowboys need to do is figure out this offensive line, and I think the offensive will do okay.
But they have to protect Andy Dalton and they can't turn the ball over.
I'd like to welcome Aaron 12.

Now, since I just went over this game a little bit the first half of the game.
Kyler Murray was awful.
He looked like Ray Charles out there throwing the football.
You did not know where the football was being thrown.
Two guys could be open down the field and he would throw it 10 15 yards away from him.
That's why he was nine of 24 because the first half, he was terrible.
The second half, he tightened it up a little bit.
He was able to make some completions, but before that in the first half, he was just awful.
He was running the ball very well and doing a very, very good job of extending place.
But that's all he was able to do.
When we come to this, you can't win the game when you allow three sacks, eight pressures, four turnovers, just can't do it.
You can't do it.
Time of possession.
Dallas had the time of possession big time.
We talked about this.
Adam and I talked about this yesterday that Dallas was way behind on time of possession.
In this game, they were up by nine minutes 33 to 26 in time of possession.
If they would have just been able to keep the ball and keep the sticks moving.
They might have had a shot because 38 of those points really came from turnover.
A lot of those points from the Cardinals came from turnovers and good field position to to the turnovers.
You can't turn the football over.
You've got to protect your quarterback.
Both these teams had an enormous amount of penalties.
As I said, Arizona tons of pass interference penalties.
Arizona had seven total penalties.
Dallas had six quite a bit of penalties for a Game 13 overall.
That's more than what I'm used to is the Colts fan.
I'll tell you that much right now.
Um, let me see here.
What else are we looking at? Well, we already know average yards per play.
Dallas sitting at 4.
1 really four yards average.
That's not good.
That's not good.
And when you got Arizona nearly doubling at 7.
3, you can't expect to win this game.
Yes, Dallas had 247 yards passing, as opposed to Arizona is 1 77.
But when Arizona is running the football for 261 yards, this is reminiscent of when the Cowboys played the Browns.
You can't allow 253 100 yards rushing in the game and expect to win.
How in the world did Arizona had 261 yards rushing and on Lee have 26 minutes of possession.
As I said, turnovers are huge in this game.
