It's all anticipation now, guys.
You know, you're actually live right now.
They can hear and see us just building.
Is that showing it? Or now? Yeah, you're on.
Listen, because that's a crisp, clean way, the way you kick off a Monday Night football preview right here on SportsCastr news with Ray Ralph Lauren so and Keith McPherson and myself out of Margaret doing the dang thing.
Hopefully everyone is enjoying a little bit of the traditional five oclock Monday Night football start between the Bills and the Chiefs.
We're gonna be looking ahead at Keith Squad, the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Cardinals here later on this evening.
But, Ray, why don't we have a little bit of chatter here to start things off? I know you're big on Josh Allen for M v.
You've been alright riding that train hard and heavy, wet and wild for our gentlemen overlord Nick chute pack.
How you feeling about his performance so far in the cheese game? In the rain there? Let me tell you one thing We could make all the excuses in the world that it's rain.
But what happened last week to write when they when they got blown out.
Josh Allen is Josh Allen again, and I love it.
Um, this is a big shout out to all the Buffalo Bills fans yesterday that was sarcastically writing across Twitter.
Oh, we can't believe the legal at the Patriots signed Cam Newton.
Well, all of you who were screaming that Josh Allen is the M V P.
Candidate of the NFL over Lamar Jackson.
Hell, I'll even put Tom Brady in that conversation right now.
I'm so glad that you table throw in.
Concussion addicts have come back crashing down to Earth, and I'm so happy to that this will be your second loss of the season.
And you come rolling your way back to reality as New England bounces back from the worst loss in the history of the franchise and we retake our rightful place in the next couple of weeks at the top of that a f c East.
Lawrence, when you look at this live game here, is this, uh, trending down for the bills? Are they coming back to what they were going to be this year? Because we all got pretty high on them right before that Tennessee massacre, and they come around a short week.
You were mentioning a couple of switches they made trying to get younger, trying to get faster there on defense.
But for a team that kind of hangs their hat there now you're looking at trying to have a little bit more balance and demanding Mawr of the offense, which is now trailing currently 20 to 10 and coming up short on 1/4 down attempts there as Josh Allen gets denied by the Kansas City defense inside their own 35.
Well, I mean, come on Buffalo Bills.
I mean this to me.
This isn't a game about Josh Allen.
I mean, Buffalo needs to be able to run the football against Kansas City, especially when it's raining and they're leading Russia.
Is Josh Freaking Allen? I mean, Devin Singletary is averaging about three yards of carry, about three yards a carry.
I mean, that's awful against the Kansas City Chiefs defense, and when it's running, you've gotta be able to run the football man.
That's just that's awful.
Yes, Josh Callens, Josh Allen's nine of 21 I get that doesn't have a total of, what, 66 yards? A kind of line You want to come out of it? You know, being the third quarter with short? Sure. Yeah.
Third quarter, 66 yards.
We got the number one passing defense in the NFL now.
Yeah, that's a short week for Buffalo.
They they switched out a couple of their defensive lineman for some younger, lighter, faster guys thinking that I assumed that they were thinking that maybe, you know, they needed the speed and the athleticism in order to chase down guys like Clyde Hill, Air and and obviously Patrick Mahomes.
But it doesn't look like to me, it might be really effective.
Very well, that's a blown up in their face.
Uh, Clyde, uh, Edwards layer is averaging 8.
1 yards per carry, So you might be thinking, All right, well, if you only carry the ball two or three times, you could do that.
No, no, He's carried the ball 17 times.
He has 138 yards on the day.
Those young fast guys, they're going nowhere near stopping this kid.
And you got course you gotta Patrick Mahomes.
They're going for 1 39 on 15 to 22 touchdowns.
Very efficient, 75% on the day.
Keith, When you look at this game, we, maybe around the league, thought that Kansas City is still trying to figure itself out.
Can you take away from this one that they're back on track? Or is it the right combination of bills going the wrong way? A little bit.
Here is they approach the midway point of their season in Kansas City, still finding the rhythm, but it looks like they're gonna be okay on both sides of the ball.
I wouldn't read in too much from this game.
For the Chiefs, it's a sloppy game.
They've scored 20 points.
They were moving the ball pretty well, but I wouldn't read too much into it to say that they're back on track.
There still film out there on how to stop them, how to give them fit.
I think this is more of a look at the Bills who I think three weeks ago, when the Bills almost lost to the Rams, that's when everybody was taking a look at the Bills and saying they might be suspect.
Obviously Bills, Mafia and their fans.
They're gonna pump the Internet full of propaganda, make you think they got an M V P quarterback, make you think they're unstoppable.
When when you really look at this team, they're not a complete team.
Obviously, today their running game is on display is not being up to par.
They've got 10 points in the rain.
I think they're a team that probably geared up to be in a shootout with Kansas City.
Probably thought they were gonna be throwing the ball all over the place tonight.
And Mother Nature stepped in and said, It's not gonna be the type of weather for that and they're not executing.
There's still a whole quarter left to be played. They're down 10.
But I honestly thought the Bills we're gonna win tonight.
I picked the Bills toe win.
I just didn't see them losing back to back games.
But now I'm starting to see more and more that they're leveling out.
They're not that great.
They're they're a good team, but the four and one record is better than what they actually are.
And assuming if we even want to go to the stretch, they're saying they're gonna fall to four and two.
Maybe the nice soft landing spot for them is taking on the Jets next week, but over the next four games, they'll get raised.
They will also pick up Seattle and then Arizona.
So you got four games, Let's say, assuming they lose still a lot of game to play here just the start of the fourth quarter.
But if they fall in this one of four and 2/4 games, they could find themselves right around muddling at 500.
And that would certainly in what the A F C East looks like brain now be disappointing for them as a team.
And then they'd even more disappointing around the league because raise Patriots could still find themselves rating the Knicks for that division.
But I think there's another team that I had looked at there for a long time.
Yeah, listen, that was my sleeper cell preseason pick that I thought they got the right head coach in place.
They really came on late last year.
They had a chance to take advantage of this division.
Ray, I wanna let you get back in.
Yeah, you know, not this year for the Dolphins.
I still say, and I remember who I told this to.
If they would have signed Levian Bell, I would have just called him a contender.
I would have called him a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
I think that would have taken them to the next level.
This team is still missing that little bit of star power, both on defense and offense.
A set it since the beginning of the year there, one year away from being what I think is gonna be the best team in the A F C East unless the Patriots resigned.
Cam Newton spend all their money and make themselves to a competitive level where they're going at it.
But I see them overtaking the Buffalo Bills next year. Lawrence.
I told you all off season, right? This is the year for the Buffalo Bills.
If they don't do it this year, it's probably not gonna happen for another 15 until to attack.
A Viola who made his debut last night? I mean, two for two.
Yeah, you working with, But no, they're not quite there yet, but they're in the mix.
I mean, there they could compete for this division.
If Buffalo keeps the tank.
And if New England can't seem to get it together, this could be they could overachieve.
And this could be Miami zero to maybe make the playoffs winning the division.
Well, my question is, how long do they keep to was sitting on the sideline while Fits is still playing at the level that he's playing after this year.
That's why that's the thing you can't take.
Fits out unless he drops off right. You can't go.
You can't move away from the hot hand.
Let's also remember they looked really impressive yesterday, but they were playing the New York Jets.
But the only reason that two against the sample size the game is because they've taken care of their business.
It's the Jets, and now he gets a little taste and it's your point, right? Uh, I think Miami came into this year, and maybe it illustrates off.
Next year is really the year for them because I think they were more than comfortable to say, even if two is healthy and well see, you'll see how fits plays.
And if he has one of his fits, like stretches where he starts to throw that thing around the other team a little bit, but by and large they were more than comfortable saying to it, just 100% healthy.
Learn the system.
Learn, you know, learn the NFL behind a great, by the way, for in terms of veteran presence, there's not a better guy toe.
Understand how to be a locker room quarterback? How to ingratiate yourself to your team behind Fitzpatrick.
So go ahead and take that year.
Come in the next year and really hit the ground running where all of a sudden week. One.
You're a threat.
Not maybe learning on the fly and having some of those stumbling blocks along the way.
Well, and let me tell you some of the things I got coming out from my Miami people that I'm connected with through doing this kind of stuff.
They're looking at Alabama this year, and they're kind of going, Oh, why is an Alabama still so good? You know, why is Alabama still able to move the ball through the air? I think a lot of these guys thought that a lot of Alabama success came because of to, and not because Nick Saban, one of the best college coaches and one of the best recruiters in the game.
So I think not playing two of this year, especially in a year where you're right in the mix of an A F C East, where you know you could have a chance, is actually beautiful.
Because if he would have had rookie struggles, this fan base could have turned on him very quickly.
You know, I don't think it happens next year.
You know, give him the year to chill, but that's what Go read.
Go read Dolphins, Twitter.
They're all freaking out about how good Alabama looks and thinking, Oh, maybe it wasn't to a and it's not fair to memory loads.
Well, you're about to say, Keith, take it away as far as what it is from college to the pros and being an elite program at the college level.
It makes it really hard to evaluate what these guys, they're going to be at the NFL.
Alabama recruits at the top of the class every year.
They bring in a top five class every year.
I was amazed to see they had for the first time, I think, to receivers go over 100 something yards, maybe was 150 yards, two different receivers.
And they just sent Jerry, Judy and Henry rugs to the first round of the NFL draft and wait.
Now they're receivers of breaking record.
Yeah, they just they just reload to a They knew tool was the man.
When he was in high school, they knew Tool was the man at the Elite 11 combine.
Eventually, he's gonna be the man in Miami, but it's perfect for them to have the Pat Mahomes model, right? Pat Mahomes sat for a year behind Alex Smith, a veteran that was winning games took him to the playoffs.
Two is going to sit behind a veteran and and fits magic.
Potentially take him to the playoffs.
Ah, Harvard Education guy that is tutoring to on the sidelines, teaching him everything that he's seeing and everything that he's doing to is in good hands.
I really loved it was wholesome content I really love.
Seeing two was sitting on the field and just taking it in because people got to think about this guy's journey.
You know how he grew up, how he came to the states where he chose to play football and how that decision turned into him having a tragic injury last year and then a rehab from that injury injury where people thought, Hey, this guy might drop He might not be able to play again, who knows? And, uh, you know, for that young guy toe facetime his parents and his parents to see him and him to just get that full circle.
Almost a year, Ah, year in 11 months since his injury that, Hey, I'm alright, I did make it.
I am in the NFL and I mean, people are cheering for me to come in and I'm not even doing anything.
But I think what's good for two and two, and I think this is phenomenal.
I think this is the big hat tip to Ryan Fitzpatrick, and I'll even throw it out to Alex Smith.
When he was in Kansas City, both those quarterbacks knew that their jobs were done after a year.
You know Ryan Fitzpatrick, who knows this is his last year in Miami, and if he's their next year, he's there is the backup, not as the starter Alex Smith knew this young Patrick Mahomes taking my job next year, and yet they both went out of their way to mentor these two young kids.
Joe Flacco graciously stepped aside when you know Lamar Jackson came in all, even Eli Manning could have caused a stink in New York and didn't and stepped aside and the same even in Dallas, when Tony Romo could have caused a scene but supported Dak Prescott.
I think sometimes, too, when you got these young quarterbacks, putting them with the right person in front of them or behind them is really important, because I think of a Jimmy Garoppolo behind Tom Brady, who basically said, It's not my job to get him ready for the NFL.
And he's not taking my job and gave the kid no mentorship.
And, you know, Jimmy Garoppolo, What times looks like a lost puppy in the NFL now is a starter, right? So I want to tip my hat to Fitzpatrick, who you can see.
Even he's always talking to two on the sideline when he should be talking.
You see, some quarterbacks don't even talk to their backup.
They're just busy with the O.
But he's constantly conversing with to it, and I think he's in the perfect situation to groom and and just take the league by storm next year.
And some quarterbacks that air that are veterans of the league and came in with expectations do that mortgage gracefully than others.
And then usually, though, especially in a Fitzpatrick scenario, right, journeymen guy.
So everywhere he goes, there's almost always someone there that you know possibly is going to come in at some point is gonna look to take over so the expectations are set.
There are a lot more clearly than when you get to the back end of your career.
Even like aroma, though I remember actually, that one is opposed.
Thio Eli Manning, where it was kind of behind the scenes, understood he didn't want to go anywhere else. So he's gonna retire.
But the Tony Romo piece I remember as we transition into what is our Monday Night Football game that will come up here between the Cowboys and the Cardinals.
I remember him like, you know, obviously teary eyed, because injuries were really taking him off the field in a lot of ways, but he also understood and acknowledged Hey, I haven't been getting it done.
I haven't been doing enough for this team.
And here's a young guy that deserves his chance.
Same way that I got my chance back when I took over.
I have to step out of the way and let this guy have his room with the team, and you have to respect that.
Just from a growth standpoint, we think about quarterbacks.
Do you want to do the thrust him in right away model and let him learn on the fly? We've seen how that could be great for some quarterbacks and could also derail a ton of them and ruin them before we even know what they're gonna be.
A sui move into this Dallas game.
What do you feel like? He's, well, flash back for a minute.
What did you feel like when Tony Romo was stepping aside and Dak Prescott was taking over for Dallas? I was blown away.
I was honestly blown away that Tony Romo, who had already signed his six year, $100 million contract, was the face of the team.
I was blown away that he so graciously got up in front of everybody because from what I remember, it was once Tony was cleared to come back, and it was after Deck had already won some games and impressed, and there was still conversation off.
If Tony Romo comes back, what happens if Tony Romo comes back? And Romo took the podium and he said he saw himself in Dak Prescott? Even though Dak played in the sec, Dak was 1/4 round pick.
Romo came out of Eastern Washington, wasn't I don't think he was drafted at all.
Um, Romo, Um basically said he saw himself in deck because Romo came in in replacement of Drew Bledsoe.
So it's kind of like a changing of the guard.
And when you see a guy like Dak in his rookie year, that came in and was just athletic and making plays and a little sturdier than you, you know, um oh had injuries and had some history.
He knew that it was just, you know, changing of the Guard and his money was good, and he also probably knew, If I want to step away in a year or two, CBS is going to cut the check for me to call games safely in a booth somewhere.
So my time is done.
You know, Romo's legacy is is sealed in Dallas.
I was never a big Romo guy, but there's even still people like, Oh, well, Tony Romo.
Like when? Back through the pick Dak through the pick against, uh, was it against against the Browns late and people were going back to a game when when Romo threw a pick against the Broncos? And there's this whole thing on Cowboys Twitter, and I'm like, Stop trying to compare to stop trying to compare.
Doc is Doc Romo is Romo.
This is Dax era fast forward to now.
There's no way, unfortunately, way in the dock era without back.
I've got the Cowboys.
Maybe do the smart thing in the off season.
Bringing in a player like Andy Dalton, who obviously has a ton off starting experience in the NFL, probably still has more left in the tank, relatively speaking, to some guys that finished with a franchise and move onto their next one.
And maybe not with Cross thought.
There's an opportunity with an athletic mobile quarterback like this that due to injury, I may get a shot here.
This is a game where the Cardinals are getting a 10.
54 a half over under you.
Expect points to get scored. Your Lawrence.
What are your expectations here? You were saying before we got on around the impact of Andy Dalton on this offense and then even on the defensive side, which, by the way, to supplement your point, I pulled those numbers.
Dallas is bottom three in the league in terms of time of possession.
So your point may stand very valid, Especially tonight, when you're taking on ah, guy on the Arizona side of things that is a mobile quarterback and a threat there as well.
See, Yeah, my point was that that Prescott, he likes to strike fast.
You know, he wants to score those points.
The more points you have, the better that's That's general consensus.
But if you score too fast, you don't give your defense enough time to sit and rest and catch their breath.
Right? And when they're on the Field way mawr than what the other team's defense is on the field, then they don't have time.
And so, with Dalton, he's gonna hand the football off more.
Well, it's expected he's gonna hand the football off more.
I expect him to go through his progressions faster.
Throw the ball quicker, Uh, try to protect himself because obviously he doesn't have the mobility that that Prescott has so expect him to go through faster.
Uh, just getting through that a lot quicker, getting rid of the ball a lot quicker.
But that means it will be shorter passes.
They'll move down the field.
Instead of 456 play drives that take up two or three minutes, you might see 9, 10 11 12 play drives that take up 67 minutes, and that will give your defense more time.
The rest you do guy at, uh, Van Naresh.
He's not gonna be able to go out there and and be back and forth off the field every three minutes, you know? So that's going to give him.
Time is, well, allow them to play a lot pressure, the defense.
Then we'll play better because they will be rested and they're going to need to against this Cardinals offense.
Well, of course, loop this thing around eventually, right back into bottom, right square to Keith McPherson for his cowboy centric take.
But Ray, the interesting thing that I think about when Lawrence says that, though, is yes, shorter routes.
But I just saw last week, even against the Giants defense, where we have a quality cornerback there.
In Bradbury, he takes away Amari Cooper.
And guess what? Let's watch CD Land explode here.
Let's watch a young player like Wilson get a couple of nice grab.
Let's watch Gallup have some easy space down the sidelines.
These Air two cornerbacks for Arizona Cem name cachet around them, but they have been getting eaten up a bit over the course of these first five weeks of the season.
Do you think that even in maybe quicker, shorter getting the ball out of Dalton's hands? You could still see a lot of yards after the catch for Dallas, So this could be Big Chunk plays still available for them.
I think there's Big Chunk plays available, but I also think that there's deep balls available to With with Andy Dalton.
We've seen him do that with one wide receiver and a J. Green.
He's got a full slate of talent behind him to move that football.
Um, what I don't want to see out of the Dallas Cowboys tonight is trying to run the offense through Ezekiel Elliott.
And I'm afraid that Mike McCarthy is gonna panic and try to put everything through.
Zeke, Everybody on this show, whatever.
Who watches me religiously knows I love Zeke.
I'm in Ohio State, guy.
He's the greatest running back to ever step out of Ohio State, so I'm never gonna say anything bad about him.
And if you know, if you guys do with blasphemy and we're gonna have issues, okay, Eddie George would like a word.
Oh, I have three Eddie George jerseys here, buddy is he's Griffin with, like, Oh, no.
Eddie George's man like Eddie, George is the man.
But Ezekiel Elliott brought something that we had never seen in in Ohio before.
And in a style that we hadn't seen before.
Two time Heisman Trophy winner Archie.
Zig Alliot is the man.
I almost became a Titans fan because of Eddie George.
So I got mad love Freddie George, Alright.
I almost did that stupid decision Anyhow.
I'm afraid, though, that that's what they're gonna do.
They were already running a lot of the offense, sir.
Zeke, when you had Dak Prescott.
I could see Mike McCarthy panicking here.
If that's the case, Arizona's gonna pick up on that very, very quickly and they're gonna eliminate him from the game.
If Dallas isn't able to make the adjustments and they try to force the ball them and force the run, I think they're gonna be in a lot of trouble.
That being said, I have a lot of confidence in Dallas going into this game.
I don't have a lot of confidence in Arizona.
I've seen really good things.
I'm a big Kyler Murray fan, but I've seen a lot of bad things.
And before we even walked into this show tonight, it wasn't like a flip flop.
I flip flopped on a lot of games yesterday.
Now the way I scored, way I picked yesterday.
Maybe Keith isn't gonna be happy to hear this, but I had the Cowboys winning this game straight up, right away.
I just seemed like a game the Cowboys were gonna win, and I believe that this team is gonna rally around Dak Prescott a little bit tonight.
They're gonna show Andy Dalton that they believe in him, and they're gonna win this game for Dak if they lose.
I've never done this in my life.
But if they lose, it's gonna be because of McCarthy.
Not because of the players on the field.
So we're going to get over also the Arizona side, where the backfield, right and what you get getting out of just supplementing what murder already does with his legs has been a little bit influx there for them over the early part of the season.
Uh, from a offensive standpoint, First Teeth, what are you excited about or interested in seeing from Andy Dalton and then Lawrence? You mentioned the addition.
The return of van dress.
How important is he to this defense of side of the ball? Keith.
We'll start with Andy Dalton.
I'm excited to see Andy Dalton run this offense.
I'm excited to see the philosophy change that will happen with Andy Dalton running the offense and not Dak running the offense where Dak is usually playing from behind.
And like we already said, Doc is always going for the long ball.
He's gonna chuck it up for gout.
He's going to chuck it up for Cooper, and you're going to see that happen more with him. than you will.
Andy Dalton, who is going to go through his reads, make the right read, and I think you know, I put up here Feed 21 tp it's far back.
I don't know if you could see it.
Feed 21 Feed, Zeke, but also feed Tony Pollard.
If Zeke can't get it going, give Tony Pollard the change of pace back The Rock let him run the rock.
I'm interested to see how Andy Dalton performs.
I don't think we're going to see UH, 300 yards, three touchdown game out of Andy Dahlen, but I think we'll see an efficient game.
I think we'll see a game where if he doesn't turn the ball over, people will not be able to blame this game on Andy Dalton.
People will probably blame this game on Mike McCarthy, because without Dak to blame, you know, without Jason Garrett toe blame.
You know, they're they're starting to blame Mike McCarthy and I think if he gets cute or he does his ****ytics or he goes for it on fourth down or something like that and it's Ah, play that cost us.
Um, it's not gonna be good for him.
But when we're speaking about the defense of side of the ball with Leighton Vanda Resh, I'm a big Layton van duress guy just because of how fast he plays the energy he brings.
The wolf Hunter? Yeah, the Wolf Hunter.
Like when I saw him get hurt in week one, my immediate thoughts were like, Oh, man, the injury bug is already hitting the Cowboys.
We lost like four players in Week one.
He broke his collarbone in week one. Here we are weak.
The kid is saying, I'm ready to go.
Had a great week of practice.
They cleared him to go and you know who will benefit the most from having him out there.
Those two guys were running mates.
Jaylin Smith plays a lot better with Leighton Vanda Resh next to him without Layton, Vanda Resh.
Sometimes I wonder why we pay Jaylin Smith, who thought that was a good idea to go get him.
He's way better with Leighton Vanda Resh.
I don't expect his legs and his wind to be there like he hasn't been playing in a few weeks, But look for him to make some plays.
Look for him to potentially spy or stop Kyler Murray from breaking out.
You know he's gonna be the guy trying to run Kyler Murray down.
But this defense, I don't I don't expect them to stop.
Murray and Hopkins are secondary.
Is shaky, our pass rush like I'm sure Cliff Kingsbury has a scheme and has a plan for how to attack this defense because he's got plenty film off their weaknesses and what to do with the best receiver in football and one of the like, emerging young quarterbacks, a guy that can throw it in running.
I am honestly scared that they put up 30 points tonight and we don't have data to keep up with them in a shoot out, so it's gonna be interesting.
May I put out an update real quick? Josh Allen just doubled his yards and his touchdowns, and now the Bills are only down by six.
A moment ago is 23 to 10 in favor of the Chiefs, and now is the rain comes down even harder.
There looks like 6 34 to go.
The Bills will be kicking off here, so needing to get a defensive stop to give themselves a chance to get back in that game.
What is just the six point game? So if they get that possession, they could be looking at a game winning drive.
But it all starts on defense first, where the Bills have certainly struggled.
Although listen, in most games going back to last year, if you're holding holding the Kansas City Chiefs 23 points in the game, you feel like you've maybe accomplished something.
The quick footnote over on Andy Dalton.
You know, there's some weird mechanism in my head where I feel like some guys fall prey to their environment and was the best suited to be in Cincinnati, a team that was struggling over the years.
But I flipped back and went back even 2017 where I saw a Q B r of 86 25 up, 12 down, but only 59% completion percentage.
2018 Same thing.
21 up, 11 down, but just 61% completion percentage.
And then you go to that last year under 60%.
Completion percentage 16 and 14 in terms of touchdowns, interceptions and a 78 q b r Uh, this is defensive centric here, Ray on both sides of the ball.
What can the Cardinals, due to exploit the weaknesses of Andy Dalton and then flip it on the other side? Do you think that there's matchups, maybe across that offensive line that is not the greatest for the Cardinals? That maybe even with the van direction, small doses Dallas can try to attack and mitigate the risk of the Hopkins of nuke just going off deep? So when Arizona lost to Detroit, I watched that game in its entirety.
I didn't even wanna watch it in the condensed version.
I watched the full 3.
5 hours because I really wanted to soak in what I was seeing and didn't want to find before my eyes.
They were all over Kyler Murray, and that's why Detroit won that game.
It wasn't even that Arizona played bad.
Their offensive line played the way they're capable of plane, which is bad.
You know, I always say a bad unit or a bad team.
Just because they played bad doesn't mean they played bad.
They just played to their greatest potential and that offensive line played to its greatest potential and they killed them.
And I think if Dallas could get its pass rush going tonight and disrupt Kyler Murray, one thing I noticed about him is he's looking a little DeShaun Watson ish.
When he's in trouble and he's looking for DeAndre Hopkins.
He's not going through his progressions.
And we saw that with Watson a lot.
A soon as he got in trouble, he wasn't looking downfield for anybody else.
He was trying to find Hopkins on the field.
Kyler Murray is falling into that trap.
Cliff needs to talk to him and say, Hey, man, if you look and can't see him find your next available guy, Stop looking for Hopkins to bail you out because most of the time when he gets in trouble, DeAndre Hopkins is already 40 yards down the field.
He's not in a position to get back and album, um, some errant passes in that Detroit game trying to hit Hopkins Done.
As for exploiting Andy Dalton, that's probably the Onley disadvantage that Dallas may have.
There's a lot of game film on Andy Dalton has been in the league for 75 years right, like he's been there a long time.
The book is already out on Andy Dalton.
He's that classic pocket quarterback.
If you could get pressure and disrupt his timing, um, it's gonna cause issues.
How Maney first reps did he get before Dak Prescott got hurt? Probably not a lot.
But was that already back when Dalton signed or was he was Was camp Hadn't even started yet, Right? Or had it started? No.
So it's not like they signed Andy Dalton before death.
Signed his franchise tag, but he signed the franchise before they got to camp, Right? Um, so it's not even like he was working with the receivers when Dak was sitting out in this off.
It probably would have benefited them.
Or if they could have had a real off season because Andy could have worked a little bit more with the receivers.
Eso I expect timing to be a little bit off tonight with only a week of practice, but that doesn't mean you can't, you know, be successful.
But if I'm Arizona, I'm throwing the house.
But Chandler Jones is out for the year, right? And that's their bad, you know, probably the most Look, look, he's a former Patriot guy, and I know sometimes I'm a little high.
But this is a guy really you have to respect.
He's probably one of the most underrated pass rushers in the NFL.
Um, and that's gonna be huge of that pass rush in Arizona.
And that could have been just what Dallas needed for this game and fits in addition for Arizona is going to be out in this one of the linebacker position.
You also have GERD IQ and excuse me, Kinard also questionable for this one.
In addition from the offensive side, Humphries questionable is well on the offensive line.
So right now, in spite of some guys that are on IR for the Dallas Cowboys, everybody else for them that was available is available on playing in this one.
The Chiefs narrowly avoid coughing up the fumble there from ah Hilaire so that one stayed with them.
They maintain possession here, the 5 20 marking the fourth.
Listen, the this is the kind of came that it sounds like you could convince yourself whichever side you wanna fall on it.
I think that there's a little bit more risk factor on Arizona's offense and what they potentially could get thrown into from the Dallas defensive side of it.
But let the lines right there.
This is a flipped coin flip, you know, pick them kind of game.
Let's start in the Let's start up there with Lawrence.
You have one question.
What do you get when we start getting into that? And this is for Keith because this is a question that I, um with Andy Dalton, the reason why a lot of people said that he was not doing well the last couple years because he didn't have weapons and his offensive line is horrible.
Obviously, This year, Cincinnati's offensive line still got awful.
Now the Cowboys traditionally have a really good offensive line, but they've had their share of injuries, Right? So my question to you is, How good is this Cowboys offensive line? And can they keep? Can they keep Dalton clean? I would.
I wouldn't even use the word good to describe anything about this line.
Maybe maybe Zack Martin is a good player.
But ah, I'm worried about it.
Um, the Cowboys have lost Tyron Smith for the season.
La El Collins for the season, Joe loony, who was a backup.
Cameron Irving, who was a backup.
We're running with undrafted free agents, random guys on the line.
And this is not the Great Wall.
This is not the Pro Bowl star studded line that people, uh, just say that the Cowboys have.
No, this is makeshift.
These guys, they're still figuring it out and putting it together.
We've got a rookie on on the line.
We've got to undrafted free agents on the line.
Luckily, Chandler Jones isn't playing because they, almost any team could disrupt what the Cowboys offenses trying to do up front.
Because these guys have never played together.
There's some of these guys have never played in the NFL like it's just not a good situation with the offensive line.
So, you know, when we talk about establishing to run, give the ball to Zeke, give the ball tp well, how you gonna run the football if no one's blocking? No one's opening up any holes? We'll see how it goes, man.
I'm not very confident.
I just changed my process. E.
Can I just change the subject for one second? Sure, buddy, Can I just say that as much as I hate the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is absolutely phenomenal.
I just did he just say that? I just I timed it when they're on the replay, their showing in real time.
He saved himself five seconds.
He bought himself five seconds as he ran around and found Pringle for that throw.
I mean, he's unbelievable to watch. Unbelievable.
When a quarterback that dynamic, like, If you're if you're the Bills and you're struggling defensively and you look around legal, just don't give us a mobile quarterback coming off a loss because the last thing we want is a quarterback that's gonna extend plays.
And then if you want a pepper in the fact that my home is also has a cannon for an alarming can throw it all those weird angles.
Now you go, Yeah, every time.
That was just a third downplay, where he bought himself the extra five seconds, rolled almost to the sideline and then found his man for 15 20 yard gain down inside the 30.
So he just threw across his body on the move, the other, you know, going the other way out of full on That was a perfect spiral, right? Thio, Every mechanical and fundamental thing you're not supposed to do.
Like I'll check every single box.
And I'll also pick up 20 yards on the fly.
He is my favorite quarterback toe watch because he does all the things they teach quarterbacks growing up not to do.
He does all the things that I was told coming up through Little League toe high school to college.
Do not grow across your body, Throw the ball away.
At this point, if you're rolling out, do not like he He just creates.
He doesn't want to take a loss, and it's so fun to watch because you think a play is dead and he's finding open receiver and he's stone it off his back foot and he's stone it across his body.
He he won't take a loss.
I love watching him play.
That's the difference off.
No, no, you're telling everybody else not to do this.
You're not You're not telling me not to do this.
I'm a different You're not soaking in what my physical attributes are and why I'll go out heartedly.
Man, He didn't have that many offers in high school.
By the time he got to college, they let him do what he wanted.
He's still coming into the league, learning how to read defense's well and, by the way, don't get the fact that one of those things is having a baseball background like they talked about that, even going back to last year.
You know, when you go, you're off balance, you know, running, getting the ball deep in the hole there, shortstop right side, arm it over to second base, getting it across your body over the first little side action to get into third base to pick a guy off, moving over like all those weird arm angles feel a lot more natural for him.
So in this progression, he goes, Oh, no, I can still go ahead and rotate this thing where I need to and find an open window, a baseball, throwing a baseball, messed up my motion throwing a football.
I usually would have to like it would take a couple of weeks to be like, Okay, we're throwing it off.
It must have helped this kid.
He got some type of angles, knows how toe twist his body like Listen, do you understand how lucky we've been? No.
In this generation of football players, we didn't lose to baseball.
I mean, you go all the way back to Tom Brady.
He was a five star baseball recruit.
Murray tonight at 18 years old, he was drafted by the Expos, and they they had him projected to be a starter by 22 he decided to go to Michigan.
You know, Russell Wilson, they say, was a better ballplayer than he was a football player.
Mahomes was a better ballplayer.
Kyler Murray is a great ballplayer.
I mean, there was a chance we could have missed out on all this great talent because they're playing double A ball somewhere.
Can you imagine that? The United States soccer team if we just got any percentage of these athletes around the country? If LeBron James wasn't so selfish that he had to go to the final, you know what? You know what? I don't even want to hear.
That's crocodile tears to me.
The last time Canada was in the World Cup was in 1986 a month before I was born.
The next time we're going to be in.
It is gonna be in 2026 when the U.
And Canada do a dual host.
So don't even get me started on that when you start to get into the World Cup appearances for U.
And Canada, you know, the stream is going off the rails.
I don't know, though.
No, no, I'm not done yet. 30 million population.
We can't find 11 guys.
We can't find 11 guys. Yeah.
All right, Stay focused.
Here. Let's get into the pics.
Let's start up in the right corner.
We're gonna finish with a flourish with Keith McPherson.
Who is that? How about how about him? Cowboys? How about him? We'll see soon.
I'm scared, Lawrence.
Where you living On this one? The 54 a half line.
The basically pick him in terms of points being given.
Where is it? Shake out for you on this one, man.
I had the Cowboys winning, and then Keith had to open this mouth and say that offensive line was God awful s O.
That makes it a little bit a little bit more discouraging.
I'm still gonna pick cowboys.
I think it's gonna be a close game.
And with with the offensive lines both having issues and Vander s being back, I expect the Cowboys to have a little bit better defensive performance.
So I could I could see this is like a 27 24 game.
All right, I like it right? Talk to me.
This isn't Nick Marlins taking over for Dak Prescott.
This is Andy Dalton.
Andy Dalton is by no means a Hall of Famer, but he's a good, probably a former superstar quarterback, and I think we're going to see a good version of Andy Dalton tonight.
Don't forget to.
There might be a lot of book on Andy Dalton.
There's no book on.
Andy Dalton is a Dallas cowboy.
You know what the book on the Cowboys are contained? Dak Prescott.
Because you could be with his legs and his arm.
You can escape the pocket.
Andy Dalton can't do that.
That changes your defense.
It's already beat up and, you know, to keep peace is not there.
I think Andy's gonna actually picked his defense apart tonight.
Um, I think that the Dallas Pass rush is gonna do enough to disrupt Kyler, Murray Keith, your Dallas fans.
So you're just gonna be ready for disappointment anyways, But I'm calling at least a 10 point win for Dallas tonight.
All right, before we get to the man, the myth, the legend, Keith McPherson.
This is what they call the jinx special calling for a Dallas Cowboys victory here.
I think they really got this one in the bag.
Listen, they're gonna get out there doing it after those cardinals Kyler Murray, I've been hearing they're thinking about making a switch, a quarterback, possibly trading them away like they recently did with one Josh Rose.
And I don't have it.
They don't have an offensive. They don't have a defensively.
I got the Dallas Cowboys walking away with. I'm talking blowout.
I'll take the under because it's gonna be so heavily in favor of Dallas.
They just walk on home with this one key thing.
Seriously, Please, please take it away here, But yeah, Dallas in a in a cakewalk.
They really get a stranglehold on this division with a victory tonight.
Something is, I already know what Keith? Keith, uh, already, uh, Lawrence Lawrence, listen to how about, um, earlier today and I've I told people I wasn't that confident.
Uh, this is America's team toe laugh at.
And whenever we play these national Games were the Onley game on.
I have these nights where I'm just like man.
Everyone is laughing at us.
We're the only game on.
We just got beat By all the attention of the world, it doesn't matter. It could be Thanksgiving.
It could be Monday night, Thursday night, Sunday Night Football whenever Jerry Jones gets that T v money and he thinks he did a good thing by being the most, uh, team played in prime time.
No, we get embarrassed, so I'm scared.
Kyler Murray is 60 at Jerry World.
Texas High School legend has never lost at A T and T Stadium in college or high school.
Um, I'm going to bring up that I've missed now.
One episode of How about Him since the football season finished today, and it sounds like I heard the exact same episode I hear every week.
He's never comfortable.
He's never ready, never has his hopes up.
He's a humble man.
You're doing this for my is a true Dallas Cowboys fan that set yourself up for the worst.
So if the best happens, it's even better.
Thing is our third home game in a row.
And if you ask me in the early weeks of how about him? I said We got three home games in a row.
We need to take two out of three.
The Giants was a given.
The Browns didn't happen.
We gotta take this game tonight.
Layton Van dresses back.
Andy Dalton is playing for the incentives in his contract.
He could get an extra 1.
25 mil if he goes and wins the Super Bowl.
It's not happening. It's not happening.
I'll keep it real with you guys.
Uh, the Cowboys haven't covered a spread all year.
The line keeps moving 1 to 1.5.
Now I'm seeing the line is at 1.
5 in favor of Dallas.
So take the Cardinals.
It's that simple.
Gotta take the Cardinals, and I think they hit the over.
I'm taking Cardinals to beat the Cowboys 31 28 if and I mean if this is the end, if l If the Cowboys air toe win this game, they have to steal this game and it has to come off of like a trick play or a turnover.
Last week against the Giants, one of the Cowboys touchdowns came off of Anthony Brown in his first game back, scooping up a fumble and taking it to the House.
Also, the Giants had two touchdowns called back because of penalties the Cowboys should have lost last week, and they should have lost the Falcons and the Cowboys.
Air really supposed to be owned five, you know, but But you look at other teams and it could be reversed.
There's probably teams out there that are two and three right now.
That should be four and one and and a little thing here.
You know, I guess we should update to with a minute 56 left in the game.
The Kansas City Chiefs have now made it a two possession game after a field goal, and it looks like they're gonna improve the five and one and thankfully, the Buffalo Bills.
They're gonna, you know, declined to foreign, too.
And then we'll have to keep an eye on them and how they progressive next handful of games.
But typically it is right.
Good teams that are trending bad.
Find ways to get lucky breaks, Whether it's by their own effort or by Atlanta Falcons not knowing how to play football, you still find a way to get there, even against the Giants, right? What would the Giants do if you're If you're a good team and we're starting to turn the corner, you don't have that penalty on the trick field goal play that ends up taking back a touchdown.
Seven points off the board.
Dallas finds a way to get it done.
So it'll certainly be interesting to watch as we know, man.
Listen, the NFC East, the NFC least it is not an impressive division right now.
What was your first place? No matter what.
If they lose, they're still gonna be a but the commanding lead that they could take tonight with three wins.
It really is. And then we play Washington next.
I need this game tonight.
You hit it right on the head.
The good teams will find a way.
If you look at every Super Bowl champion out there, that team has faced some sort of adversity where they needed something to go right? Go back to the Patriots last Super Bowl.
They had to win a coin toss.
Because if it goes the other way, Patrick Mahomes is not.
Wait until last year.
He's probably playing the Rams and that rematch, but the Patriots won the coin toss. Brady did this thing.
Eli needed a helmet catch.
Um, but no, you know, Brady needed a field goal.
If you go back to every Super Bowl, you needed a break somewhere down the line, you know, And and Mahomes? I mean, should they beat the Texans last year when they were down by three scores? Should they have been in the game against, uh, Tennessee, who took early jump? It happens.
And that's why I think Dallas is a good team, because they have overcame some of these situations where yeah, you probably should have lost, But you are a better team.
So the brakes happened in you one.
Don't forget case the Cowboys can not cover the spread as you predict.
So you could get world.
Listen, starting with Keith McPherson, man.
We're gonna be on together doing MBA coverage tomorrow.
Filling in for Matt Brooks But where do people find you? For the Cowboys coverage? Right here on sports casting.
Uh, at Keith MacPherson.
I'm pretty sure it's just my first and last name.
