00:00:11
Yeah.
00:00:13
Welcome to Quick Takes the show with me.
00:00:15
Look, Backman, as I give you my view on the biggest stories in sports streaming live from Arlington, Texas, I'll be covering baseball, basketball, football and all the most important breaking news from this week's action.
00:00:26
I'll give you the facts straight up and then tell you what's right and what's wrong.
00:00:30
Without further ado, let's dive into those topics.
00:00:33
And today we'll talk about two topics, and we'll recap Week six in the NFL, and we will preview and look ahead to the world.
00:00:42
Siri's that starts tonight.
00:00:44
Uh, two topics kind of similar as my last two critics.
00:00:49
Streams is the most prevalent sports at the moment, so we'll preview look back to see what's happening, both of them.
00:00:58
Also, I know probably every single one of you have turned on SportsCenter SportsCastr and seeing the debate of who is the goat LeBron or MJ? And if you No, no, me, you're seeing.
00:01:15
So my streams, you know, my bias goes to LeBron James and that I believe LeBron is to go and I just wanna go on record and we'll talk about why I think that we also compare the two.
00:01:30
I won't get totally biased.
00:01:32
As I know, some people want to totally dismantle the other there.
00:01:36
Two great players, 12 all time in, in my opinion and others opinions to it just matter it to different people.
00:01:45
It's what, What? You rank him.
00:01:46
So I'll try and do that without being disrespectful, because the last thing you want to do is discredit either of them on either side of the spectrum of who you like or who you don't know who you prefer, who you prefer.
00:02:00
So that will be the last topic. I think it will be interesting.
00:02:02
I love I love having that debate with anyone who believes different than LeBron because Bronze, my favorite player of all time.
00:02:10
So I'll just talk about that.
00:02:13
I was starting off.
00:02:14
Well, look at Week six of the NFL, for example, the Ravens were able to sc**** score wise.
00:02:23
It looks like they were able squeaked past the Eagles.
00:02:26
The Eagles, who had been struggling terrible toe win Ravens won, 32 28.
00:02:34
Close scored.
00:02:35
Eagle's actually almost came back.
00:02:36
They scored 22 of their 28 points in the in the excuse me fourth quarter but wasn't enough.
00:02:42
Is they lost on its failed two point conversion, most on a two point conversion? Excuse me, and as much as you want to say, a loss hurts you.
00:02:57
The fact that Eagles made a comeback and were able to get back in this game is absolutely huge.
00:03:03
Because if we look at the division there in the NFC East, nicknamed the NSC least, especially this year, this year has been atrocious and we'll get into that.
00:03:13
What? Ah, loss in that division right now does not necessarily hurt you and set you back.
00:03:21
I lost in the NFC East really puts you right along with the pack and the fact that the Eagles were able to come back against the Ravens. Ravens.
00:03:30
We all know Good team.
00:03:31
Expect them to go far in the A F C A F C.
00:03:34
Excuse me.
00:03:36
The fact they were to come back because I remember watching they put up a stab.
00:03:40
This wasn't just a staff toe like couple drives.
00:03:43
This was five minutes gone by into the what was the second quarter, So 20 minutes a game play had passed.
00:03:51
They put up a step the Ravens first downs.
00:03:55
The Raven sent seven first downs.
00:03:57
Eagles total yardage, Negative.
00:04:00
Five.
00:04:02
If that that I remember looking at that stat and there, there's no way that's correct.
00:04:07
There's five minutes into the second quarter.
00:04:11
You have negative five yards.
00:04:13
While you've allowed the Ravens to have seven first downs, there's no way this is, That is a legit step, obviously was.
00:04:22
And the fact that the Eagles were able to make a comeback to potentially put themselves in that position toe tie when you know, take this game over steal a game from an A F C contender is actually incredible.
00:04:40
Even with them losing this game I had always picked.
00:04:44
Even with that going down, I'd like to Dalton.
00:04:47
I thought the Cowboys might still come out the NFC East, but with that performance, obviously, there's still a lot of struggles, and I'm not going to say the Eagles aero, they're bound to go.
00:04:59
You know they're getting right.
00:05:00
No, but I think the Eagles might be in the best position out of the NFC East teams to take over and secure that division title for a home game in the playoffs.
00:05:14
We'll talk about Dalton and the Cowboys later because that was a absolute disappointment.
00:05:20
I don't know if it's a disappointment or just how how the seasons going, but there's a lot of finger pointing in Dallas at the moment.
00:05:27
As you are seeing the report reports today, players were just bashing coaches, saying They're unprepared.
00:05:34
They don't know how to adjust and flat out to coaches.
00:05:36
They're doing an awful job.
00:05:37
So there's a lot of drama down in Dallas.
00:05:41
Other other games around the league Falcons, 1 40 23 finally were able to get the offense going.
00:05:49
Really had been missing.
00:05:51
I want to say missing as much because they obviously built up leads, weren't able to keep him, but they dismantled the Vikings.
00:06:00
They won't buy Excuse me 17 points.
00:06:02
This is the first game without Dan Quick Dan Quinn as head coach.
00:06:07
Eso you wonder if that had something to do with do with it? I wouldn't say it, you know, has them win by 17 just firing their head coach.
00:06:17
But maybe the team played with a little more energy, A little more juice because it especially going into asked going into this week if they had kept Dan Quinn.
00:06:28
How much trust is this team gonna have in their head coach? So maybe they were playing with a little more energized this week.
00:06:34
So that's what about Ryan and 3 71 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero picks, which is huge.
00:06:44
One thing I did see, though, is other GMs around the league.
00:06:48
We're looking.
00:06:49
We're looking at Atlanta, seeing if they're trying toe potentially stripped down and just rebuild this roster.
00:06:56
People are wondering if Julio is gonna become available or Matt Ryan potentially and funny enough.
00:07:02
I just had this discussion with one of my friends who is a Falcons fan.
00:07:07
He asked. Way talked. Hey, asked.
00:07:09
He was like, Do you think that the Falcons should play this year out or they should actually play for the draft? Which is an interesting thing, because the Falcons air one in this.
00:07:22
I'd say this middle position, and especially this year, where they're not a good enough team to win the Super Bowl, or especially this year, not even close to contending.
00:07:34
But they're not a bad enough team where I'm just going to say the Jets, for example, because they're my team They're not a bad enough team for the Jets, like the Jets, that they need to lose games for players.
00:07:47
The Falcons are gonna have to realize this year a scratch, and they're gonna have to just write it off.
00:07:52
Is this was not our year were we're in a division and this was my main point.
00:07:59
The Falcons air playing in division with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, Drew Brees and the excuse me, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints and Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers, who the Panthers actually lost to the Bears.
00:08:15
Bears have been a complete surprise, but they lost to the Bears, 23 16.
00:08:19
That was the Panthers.
00:08:21
But if you look at all three of those teams the Buccaneers, Saints and, um, Panthers, you can all make the case.
00:08:28
They're better than they're all better than Falcons.
00:08:34
So why are you going to play this year out? Especially in that division where you're not even guaranteed second place, you're not even guaranteed a chance at a wild card, which is really the best thing that would be going for the Falcons.
00:08:49
At this point, they're not gonna win the division.
00:08:52
My opinion is you play for the draft this year, you add, you add a player, it will be obviously be a topic.
00:08:59
If you play for the draft, you add a top player and you're just adding to an already really good team.
00:09:06
To be honest, One thing is they have girly.
00:09:09
They can.
00:09:10
They can ride girly this year.
00:09:12
What they can dio just hand the ball off the girl and see if Todd Gurley can get back to his.
00:09:19
I want to say get back fully, but gets similar numbers to his days is peak days and the Rams and see if, Okay, we can move forward with Todd Gurley next year.
00:09:29
You know what you're gonna get out of Julio.
00:09:31
So why don't why don't you target? Excuse me? Target Cam.
00:09:36
Calvin Ridley.
00:09:37
He's been playing extremely well in the Games already.
00:09:41
Why do you give him a few more of who? The balls You're going to, Julio, because last thing you want to do is getting injured Julio Jones for, you know, the rest of this year going into next year.
00:09:50
That's the last thing you want to dio.
00:09:53
So I think the Falcons should really develop their young players.
00:09:57
Obviously, you're going to go out there to win.
00:09:58
But if they lose and if they're losing and the draft is not a bad fruit bad option this year, especially just rebuilding refueling, that could go really well with the Falcons and in interesting take.
00:10:13
I don't think they need to strip down just yet, as some execs and jams or thinking they might dio.
00:10:18
I think that they'll have to scratch this.
00:10:20
Europe is a loss and look for next year to be.
00:10:22
Really The year that they could get back to the Super Bowl is they were couple years ago.
00:10:28
Um, other other games.
00:10:30
Steelers absolutely routed the Browns, and I really was liking Baker.
00:10:37
The Browns reform one.
00:10:39
Baker is playing well.
00:10:42
I was looking good in Cleveland.
00:10:43
Looking good.
00:10:44
00 B J O Dell still was having you're still looking at every game.
00:10:49
Seeing is bigger, gonna target Odell and still hasn't been that one where you know what, They're on the same page.
00:10:56
So that's still an issue in Cleveland.
00:10:58
But the fact that a divisional rival destroyed the Browns 38 to 7, to the fact where they had to pull.
00:11:05
Baker is very scary and nervous, nerve wracking.
00:11:10
If you're Brown's family, you're thinking you're able to make this step.
00:11:17
But the Steelers air saying Absolutely No, it's still there.
00:11:20
Division Big Ben has been playing great juju.
00:11:23
Smith.
00:11:24
Schuster did not have the greatest game, but he's gonna be there.
00:11:27
Uh, Stills had this rookie by receiver.
00:11:31
His name starts with C.
00:11:32
I'm blanking on it at this moment, but he I'd said Juju didn't play well.
00:11:37
David, this rookie wide receiver they drafted to play extremely well and really help the team out.
00:11:44
Still, there's not a lot.
00:11:47
I'd say this.
00:11:48
When is this game is more about the loss for the Browns? You'll have to see how they bounce back.
00:11:52
How does Baker bounce back as he was benched? There's no way around it.
00:11:57
He's going to take a lot of the blunt of the blame for this lost.
00:12:01
We'll have to see how Baker responds in the Browns if they want to potentially make this division interesting.
00:12:06
The Times one a one against the Texans, 42 to 36.
00:12:12
They won over time.
00:12:13
Derrick Henry has absolutely rank his way into the M V p conversation, which it looked like it was only a cube party as Oh, thank you, Thank you, Claypool.
00:12:26
That's his name for the rookie from rookie on the Steelers.
00:12:30
Thank you, but back to the Titans of Derrick Henry.
00:12:35
Henry absolutely had a 94 yard touchdown, and you've got to feel for DeShaun Watson is if you ain't and we'll talk about this if you watch his reaction.
00:12:46
Because it was the two captains, Watson and Henry, they went up through the coin flip for over time, at which the Titans one as soon as Derrick Henry and the Times one Shawn Watson just loved his shoulders turned around.
00:13:03
Just he knew he knew that his defense could not contain Derrick Henry, and Derrick Henry has put himself in that M V P discussion as he's he's absolutely, I want to say, Karen, because Tannehill's been playing well.
00:13:18
Tannehill quietly has been playing extremely well.
00:13:20
He's not turning the ball over.
00:13:21
He's just being consistently solid to the point where Derrick Henry could just be Derrick Henry and that's him.
00:13:28
Rushing over 200 yards, which is extremely scary for defense, is, and the fact that they have a head coach who is one of the absolute best.
00:13:38
That's not being talked about in like Rabel.
00:13:40
Variable.
00:13:41
Yeah.
00:13:42
Weird spelled.
00:13:44
It was. Spelling is weird.
00:13:45
I think that Yeah.
00:13:46
Vrabel.
00:13:47
Is that how you pronounce it? But they had what? He pulled a Belichick move.
00:13:51
If you didn't see the game, I'm not too technical on the rules here, so I might say something and correct.
00:14:00
I don't believe so, but what he did was around three minutes left.
00:14:03
They had they had their time outs, but they wanted they obviously there on defense, you need to stop the clock.
00:14:10
The time the tailings were down a touchdown, variable sends one of his defenders onto the field, and they don't sell about another defender.
00:14:19
So they get called for a penalty with 12 men on the field.
00:14:22
Right, Vrabel? He's on the sideline.
00:14:26
He's looking mad.
00:14:27
And one of the the announcers like that's a mistake on variables part.
00:14:31
But it actually wasn't because even though they gave up yards, they obviously penalty.
00:14:36
They're given yards to the Texans.
00:14:39
That 12 man, 12 men on the field is actually stopping clock this the clock.
00:14:44
So the titans were ableto to stop the clock.
00:14:48
They were able to save themselves 40 seconds, able to get the Texans off the field.
00:14:54
They use their time outs, went down and scored with four seconds left on the clock to send it to overtime.
00:14:59
And then, obviously, they Derrick Henry took over and won in overtime.
00:15:02
The times one over time.
00:15:04
So Vrabel just with a Belichick movement? It's fun.
00:15:09
Interesting. He did that also, I believe, in 2018.
00:15:12
And just a funny thing.
00:15:13
I saw the announcer I mentioned it was like that.
00:15:15
That's a mistake on Variables Park.
00:15:17
He was the same announcer who did it the first time.
00:15:20
Uh, Rabel did it, and he was like Mike Vrabel.
00:15:22
That's just a young coach being hard headed, not knowing what's going on.
00:15:26
And he thought he would have learned.
00:15:28
But a Vrabel has made sure to bend that rule all the ways.
00:15:33
He was able to save his team 40 seconds, and obviously, when you don't you don't want to say a single thing, won the game, but put him in the best position possible to win the game back.
00:15:44
Talking about the NFC East Giants won 22 19 over the Redskins.
00:15:49
Giants get on the uh in the win column for the first time this year as a Jets fan.
00:15:55
I'm happy because that that puts the Jets is the only team that has not won a game.
00:16:00
Obviously, I'm not happy about that, but about our potential draft pick, which at this point I want to be Trevor Lawrence and we'll get him or learn to that on Thursday.
00:16:10
But they're able to be Washington, and Washington is just a mess.
00:16:14
You have the, uh, drama about Dwayne Haskins, who's starting a great story in Alex Smith coming back.
00:16:20
But it's just a mess over there in Washington.
00:16:23
Overall, the entire NFC East, um, the Colts came back from down 21 to nothing.
00:16:30
Toe the Bangles and rookie Joe Burrow Joe Burrow Joe burrow through over for three through over 300 yards.
00:16:37
Again, that's his fourth game 44 times in six games.
00:16:41
I believe Stone over for three, thrown over 300 yards, just absolutely taking over the Rookie of the year Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation, Um, sadly, wasn't able.
00:16:53
Thio outperform Philip Rivers, who threw for 3 71 3 touchdowns and only one pick.
00:16:58
But obviously, the Colts knew when they signed Philip Rivers, they're going to have to settle for his mistakes and throwing interceptions.
00:17:07
Talking about the Jets losing, how surprised they lost 24 to nothing to the Dolphins in Miami to a tie of to, uh, I'm not gonna even try and pronounce his last name.
00:17:18
But to came in for the last drive in the last two minutes of the game, and the Dolphins actually named him their starter for next.
00:17:26
Not next week, cause they have abide.
00:17:28
But the week after that, they announced two is gonna be the starter over Fitzpatrick.
00:17:33
Which is kind of surprising because Fitzpatrick three and three record he's averaging 255 yards per game, 10 touchdowns, seven interceptions over the year has not taken the Dolphins out of any game at all.
00:17:44
He's actually kept the Dolphins have flowed in many of these games.
00:17:49
They've played pretty close games, but announcing tool for weeks.
00:17:55
Week aid.
00:17:56
Yeah, because I have to buy.
00:17:58
One thing that scares me about this is he will be going against Aaron, Donald and Aaron, Donald and Jalen Ramsey.
00:18:07
Obviously in the secondary first first game of the year in his first start, his first major playing time in his NFL career scares me Any quarterback that goes against Aaron Aaron.
00:18:18
Donald.
00:18:19
That's scary.
00:18:20
That's scary and tool with the injury history.
00:18:22
That is extremely scary to me.
00:18:24
And hopefully they can work around the protection.
00:18:27
Hopefully, double triple team.
00:18:28
Aaron Donald Aaron, Donald Excuse me.
00:18:31
I've Sam Donald on my mind, but Aaron donald dot Donald Excuse me.
00:18:36
Hopefully, they can limit his success against the Miami offensive line, Uh, the chief to beat the Bills and a really ugly game.
00:18:46
Toe watch.
00:18:47
It was just a lot of running.
00:18:48
The ball is the weather in Buffalo was rainy, cold, a lot of running.
00:18:52
They won 26 17.
00:18:54
Just road Clyde Edwards and he's been amazing for them, letting on building, not play that game.
00:19:01
But he is looking to play next week ERA this week against my Jets, so we'll see how they incorporate him into the run game.
00:19:10
Last night's, uh, last night's official Monday night game.
00:19:16
Cardinals and Kyler Murray absolutely dominated the Cowboys, 38 to 10 as Zeke fumbled twice in the first half, which really put Dallas in a tough position.
00:19:26
Dallas, especially one of those fumbles, was driving, and Z just coughed it up and they both raw in Dallas territory.
00:19:33
So the Cardinals had a short field.
00:19:36
And then to top it off after the Cowboys, Yeah, after the Cowboys punted, Murray headed, uh, Murray and Christian Kirk an 80 yard touchdown, 21? Nothing.
00:19:47
And you kind of knew at that point it wasn't gonna look.
00:19:50
It wasn't got the Cowboys known Andy Dalton tonight.
00:19:54
For the Cowboys, they still have a chance in the NFC is just like I talked about with the Eagles.
00:20:01
A loss does not put you back so far.
00:20:04
In fact, the Cowboys air still leading the division with two wins, as the Eagles Air one for and one.
00:20:09
So the Cowboys.
00:20:11
They can figure stuff out, but a lot of drama down there as a lot of people are pointing fingers, uh, coaches.
00:20:19
And if Dallas wants to make a push, they're gonna turn it around very quickly.
00:20:24
So that's really basic rap on the week in the NFL took a lot longer than I expected, but a lot of good storylines went on last week in Week six.
00:20:33
So we were able to cover those, uh, tonight here, right here in Arlington, Texas.
00:20:39
That's where I'm from.
00:20:41
Um, Game one of the world Siri's.
00:20:43
We have the Los Angeles Dodgers and representing the National League and the Tampa Bay Rays representing the American League pitching night is Clayton Kershaw, first Tyler Glass novel.
00:20:55
We all know the struggles claim Kershaw has had in the postseason and the world Siri's that has been well do***ented over time.
00:21:04
Kershaw is one and two in the world, Siri's with a 5.
00:21:06
4 e r a.
00:21:10
Obviously, every time Kershaw starts in the postseason, all eyes are on him because is it? Is Kershaw going to fail again in the postseason? And if you watch his games, it's not like he's going out there and getting bombed for 78 runs every outing.
00:21:27
He's had some very solid outings over these last postseason, and his offense just has not been able to click like especially against the Siri's against the Red Sox.
00:21:37
The only the Dodgers only won one game, and that one game was an 18th inning game, and in l.
00:21:42
A that I had the Dodgers were able to walk off, so the offense was not a prime factor.
00:21:48
And that's it in that entire Siri's.
00:21:50
Okay, you can just look at his ER regular season e r A.
00:21:55
Right around the 2.
00:21:57
43 range postseason.
00:22:00
This is obviously for his career.
00:22:02
4.
00:22:04
31 basically almost doubles it, and it's just always been.
00:22:09
Is Kershaw gonna be regular season Kershaw or postseason Kershaw? We'll see tonight as he's going against Tyler Glass now who in the postseason is two and three with 33 strikeouts.
00:22:21
Ah, 5.
00:22:22
47 e r a.
00:22:23
In 26 a third innings pitched.
00:22:27
This is his first see it postseason.
00:22:29
But with everything that's gone on just in this postseason having to play an extra Siri's, I'm not gonna get instead saying it's his first postseason.
00:22:40
It's his first world.
00:22:41
Siri's okay, well, so we'll see how he would react, says the Dodgers air coming off, Really.
00:22:49
They came back 31 against the Braves, the Braves, I they were my team left in the we talked about this last week.
00:22:57
There are my team to root for left in the uh, MLB playoffs got knocked off, so I'm gonna be a Dodgers fan.
00:23:05
This world syriza's the Yankees.
00:23:07
I can now root for in a least opponent arrival.
00:23:11
So we'll look at the Dodgers speaking the LCS and LCS.
00:23:15
Both Siri's went to a Game seven for the first time since 2004 in which that was the Red Sox and Cardinals.
00:23:21
The Red Sox.
00:23:22
I came back from three all against my Yankees.
00:23:26
Oh, I was one year.
00:23:27
I was less than one, so I don't know it, but I've I've heard from plenty of Red Sox fans and that they're the only team to ever come back from 30 and actually made any major sports history.
00:23:39
So I've had to hear about that a lot.
00:23:43
The Dodgers lead the MLB S and run.
00:23:45
Scored is they scored 340 nine compared to the raise 289.
00:23:50
The Dodgers, absolutely flat out, were the best team in B regular season.
00:23:56
They've made their case for being the best team in baseball, struggled obviously against in the NLCS, but really found their stride in the last three games, and the offense is clicking I believe in the last 17 or eight innings they've played postseason baseball dating back, obviously to not only Game seven became six.
00:24:19
They have consecutively every inning, got a man on base, and if you watch postseason baseball, you know the pressure.
00:24:28
It is Earth compared to regular season.
00:24:31
The pressure of having someone on base is so much more in the postseason and the Dodgers somehow, somewhere getting someone on base every single inning, which we'll see with glass now. First world Siri's.
00:24:45
He's starting Game one.
00:24:46
Is that gonna be an issue for him? Because the Dodgers right now we're just hammering away working walks, working.
00:24:52
Just singles their plan.
00:24:54
They've been playing really well.
00:24:55
Getting solo home runs.
00:24:56
You saw Kiki Hernandez pinch hit home run.
00:24:58
Cody Bellinger bombed a put them up for three.
00:25:02
Eventually win them the game.
00:25:03
Corey Seager's been playing absolutely phenomenal.
00:25:05
Here's the NLCS M v P.
00:25:09
How are the Rays going to combat with just men on base all over the place? The Rays themselves I talked about I just said the run scored.
00:25:19
They have really found a absolutely star and at least a postseason star.
00:25:25
Randy Rose Arena a rosary in is Well, we're pronouncing on the last name, but he has been absolutely a stud for them is he has to be their postseason M v p.
00:25:38
He's had 21 hit, seven home runs and 10 are beyond and 10 r B I s and Onley 55 at bats in the postseason.
00:25:46
I know, especially when every time he came up against the Yankees, you were like, Oh, no, it's this dude again and he because I thought it may be a fluke because this was a dude.
00:25:58
I really didn't hear about a lot during the regular season.
00:26:02
And maybe I should have paid more attention to the Rays, but he just wasn't in the race as a team are in a big name.
00:26:08
They don't have big players like the Dodgers with Bellenger bets.
00:26:12
Evan Turner.
00:26:14
Okay, but, um, Randi is I'm gonna call him Randy because I don't want to miss pronounce his last name every time.
00:26:21
Randy has played absolutely phenomenal and he's been the most consistent.
00:26:26
And he's proven it wasn't just a fluke.
00:26:28
Int l uh l d s.
00:26:30
He showed through the LCS against the Astros, which I think if you're not, if you're an Astros fan, you're not going to agree with this.
00:26:38
But everyone else are absolutely delighted and happy that the Astros air out of the postseason.
00:26:45
It's just it's sweet to see the Astros go home, okay, but Rand has been great for the Rays, and so we'll see how it performs in the world.
00:26:55
Siri's, uh, this is the first World Series appearance for the race since away they lost to the Phillies in five games was when they had David Price, the Rays David Price and they made that phenomenal run.
00:27:09
Now for the Dodgers.
00:27:10
I mean, they they become consistent.
00:27:12
This is the third World Series for them last four years there owing to is they both? They've lost both the Red Sox, as I said, and the Astros lost Astros in Game seven in L. A.
00:27:24
That was 2017.
00:27:27
So you know they they want, want they want a World Series under the belt.
00:27:30
The Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988 in which they beat the Athletics.
00:27:35
It's been, has been too long for the Dodgers is they have the prominent team in Los Angeles.
00:27:44
In baseball, obviously, but they've had the worst taste in their mouth in world.
00:27:49
Siri's success and failure.
00:27:51
They're going toe.
00:27:52
Want tohave a.
00:27:54
Not under the belt as they lost the Nationals last year and the NLD A and I'll excuse me CS and weren't able toe return to the world Siri's and get their potential revenge against the Astros, who lost the Nationals in seven games and then finally looking at it.
00:28:10
Mookie Betts coming over from the Red Sox getting traded has absolutely been phenomenal for for the Dodgers justice postseason.
00:28:19
2020 alone average 3 11 with an O.
00:28:23
P S of 850 to 2 stolen bases.
00:28:26
And if you've seen any highlights and spend Mookie robbing hits turning to robbing home runs, he has absolutely been what they needed.
00:28:36
He's been a leader, is arguably the best player in baseball.
00:28:41
You you can look at him and Mike Trout, but Bets has been playing an absolutely unbelievable level.
00:28:47
And that's what the Dodgers wanted when they acquired Mookie Betts.
00:28:50
And I believe that bets has been worth the price.
00:28:54
Now they pay for him and he has a good chance of being this year's M V P in the World Series if he continues to play how he's been playing all postseason.
00:29:03
So that's just my We're looking at a preview.
00:29:08
I'll give my prediction here before any game start.
00:29:12
I like to raise a lot.
00:29:13
I think they were by far the best team and that here it is.
00:29:16
I think it's the best team from the National League and the best team in the American League.
00:29:20
Which is awesome to see, because the Rays were just phenomenal throughout the regular season and through the playoffs, obviously, and the Dodgers? Same.
00:29:29
Even though I like the Rays, I'm gonna go Dodgers.
00:29:33
And six.
00:29:34
I think the Dodgers air going to just put pressure on the Rays that the pressure the race have not been able to feel throughout the postseason.
00:29:43
They played the Yankees home run hitting team.
00:29:45
You're not getting runners on base.
00:29:47
The Dodgers, they get, they get, they get runners on base.
00:29:52
And I believe there's a more cracks in the Rays bullpen, then the Dodgers.
00:29:58
But seven games in seven days.
00:30:00
If it goes seven games, that's a lot of lot to ask on bullpen and Well, it really flips it up on who you're gonna put out there.
00:30:07
So there we go. That's my prediction.
00:30:10
I'm gonna go Dodgers and six, and we'll see.
00:30:15
Um, this is the one I was happy about.
00:30:18
This is the final topic of the day.
00:30:21
The go conversation.
00:30:22
I know all of you.
00:30:24
You have, actually, probably.
00:30:25
You're sick of this conversation.
00:30:27
Absolutely sick of it, as this has been happening for years on years and years.
00:30:32
And it won't stop even when LeBron retires.
00:30:35
It won't stop.
00:30:36
It has four rings, five rings, six rings. Seven.
00:30:39
It won't stop it.
00:30:40
Don't keep going.
00:30:41
But I just wanted to have this conversation.
00:30:43
Just I also I'm also I love basketball.
00:30:46
So I wanted corporate basketball as much as I can.
00:30:50
Obviously, the conversations way more prevalent now, after LeBron has won his fourth ring and he's inched closer in many eyes.
00:30:58
So I just want to give my opinion on it.
00:31:01
So you guys know on record you'll always have this to go on, you know, on record, on my opinion.
00:31:06
Of the two I have, Jordan is my second best player.
00:31:10
Magic is my third.
00:31:12
LeBron has been the goat for me throughout my entire time watching basket, watching basketball.
00:31:19
That started, UH, 2011 finals and I'll get this out here right away. LeBron.
00:31:26
Absolutely.
00:31:27
LeBron and the Heat choked in the 2011 finals as they lost to the Mavericks and Dirk, who came back from a 21 serious deficit.
00:31:35
LeBron choked one game. He had eight points.
00:31:39
That's one of the finals.
00:31:40
You cannot take off his.
00:31:42
You cannot take that off of his finals losses.
00:31:45
He's four and six way.
00:31:47
Know that Jordan was six.
00:31:48
And, Oh, there's no comparing the finals in this facet.
00:31:54
I'll even give Jordan this.
00:31:55
Jordan has the better career of to earth, the better the better storied career because LeBron will end up.
00:32:05
LeBron already has more points than Jordan.
00:32:08
LeBron LeBron e don't know why I said LeBron LeBron.
00:32:11
We'll have more cyst, um, or Rebound See? He's gonna be top 10 top five and a lot of these stats and passed Jordan so and that and that facet.
00:32:22
LeBron had the better career, but in the storybook career, going six for six in the finals 616 I mean six wins, no losses finals.
00:32:32
M V P. Every single time.
00:32:35
You can't write a better story than that playing, you know, playing Bird and that crazy stacks Celtics team.
00:32:44
I believe that was the 80 86 Celtics team dropping 63 on them.
00:32:50
You can't say much more about Jordan.
00:32:53
Obviously, if you want to discredit him, you can look at his Wizards here wizard years.
00:32:59
But in this sake, I'm not going to do that.
00:33:02
Well, I'll include them in the category and the stats, put for the goat discussion and end up.
00:33:09
I'm not gonna count the really look closer into the Wizards years.
00:33:14
So let's just go through some simple statistics championships.
00:33:17
We know who has the edge.
00:33:18
64 In Jordan seasons, LeBron has played tomb or playoffs.
00:33:23
LeBron has played 14 playoff seasons compared to Jordan's 13.
00:33:27
Obviously, LeBron's had the longer career, so you expect that All Star games.
00:33:32
LeBron 16 to 14 season's MVP.
00:33:35
Jordan has edge LeBron 5 to 4 as LeBron fan.
00:33:39
I want to say voter fatigue, he should have won a couple more, but that's just me.
00:33:44
That's just made.
00:33:45
But Jordan has LeBron in season MVPs 5 to 4, obviously hasn't final's MVPs.
00:33:50
MVPs 6 to 4 All MBA first team.
00:33:53
LeBron actually beats short in 13 to 10.
00:33:57
Defensive player of the years, although Jordan surprisingly has a defensive player of defensive Player of the Year award, which you have to absolutely give him credit for.
00:34:09
Back in the nineties and the days of Patrick Ewing, Dennis Rodman, Rodman was there through the started.
00:34:16
The a end of the eighties.
00:34:18
Yeah, he won defensive player of the year with the Detroit Pistons.
00:34:25
Eso Rodman's always been there.
00:34:27
What did EJ How a lot of these the great defense defenders Jordan toe win a defensive player of the year.
00:34:33
That's that's huge.
00:34:35
Uh, this is one of the biggest ones.
00:34:37
Biggest discrepancies is regular season scoring Champs Champions Championships.
00:34:43
I'd say Jordan has 10 compared to LeBron's one.
00:34:48
I'd like to say LeBron's era has had Mawr scores, but especially in his younger years there, he could have scored as many points as he wanted with the Cavs roster.
00:34:59
He had I should have a lot more than one, but he doesn't and look.
00:35:04
Jordan absolutely mops the floor with him scoring championships, so that's 10 to 1 points per game.
00:35:11
Jordan has 30.
00:35:12
1 compared to LeBron's 27.1.
00:35:15
Similar just three points off rebounds.
00:35:17
LeBron Edges Sims 7.
00:35:20
4 to 6.
00:35:21
2 and assist 7.
00:35:22
4 LeBron's favor to Jordan's 5.3.
00:35:27
I just noticed we'll look at some some of Jordan's best teammates, obviously, with all with the Bulls.
00:35:33
Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman horse Grant LeBron comparing Anthony Davis, Dwyane Wade, Kyrie, Irving.
00:35:41
All the best second options LeBron has been with winning one championship.
00:35:46
LeBron's playoff record.
00:35:49
He's 66.
00:35:50
1% playoff win percentage drawing with 66.5.
00:35:55
Those were just some stats, and I'm gonna go and, um, or death on Why, I believe Jordan.
00:36:01
I mean, no, no, LeBron is the best, and this is harder when you're not E wouldn't say debate.
00:36:09
This is harder when you're not debating someone.
00:36:11
I don't have counter argument, so I'm just gonna go off.
00:36:15
What a lot of Jordan fans or people that say Jordan's best say, Uh, finals.
00:36:22
That's the number one biggest thing when you look at, uh, the biggest argument for Jordan over LeBron Jordan, a perfect six for six LeBron 446 Obviously, the number wise does not look good.
00:36:41
But I can promise you if we look at each individual finals, we will see that LeBron really? And it sounds like so much.
00:36:53
I'm LeBron LeBron LeBron and it's just I'm trying t o look at each individual finals appearance.
00:36:59
Okay, so 07 I pay a lot of people.
00:37:05
If they could name me the players in rotation for that Cavaliers team.
00:37:11
Okay, LeBron second best player on that.
00:37:14
07 Finals team Waas Mo Williams.
00:37:18
Anderson Varejao.
00:37:19
That's as a kid who he was living.
00:37:22
What was it? 23? 24? That's who he was leading to the N B A Finals to go against the great Tim Duncan.
00:37:30
Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, who obviously swept him.
00:37:34
But that was one thing that LeBron did.
00:37:37
He was able to get his team to the finals without there's no clear number two player at all.
00:37:45
Okay, No, no.
00:37:47
Number two, like a a d Dwyane Wade or Kyrie Irving.
00:37:51
Nothing even close to that.
00:37:53
LeBron was able to get his team to the finals.
00:37:56
Mhm.
00:37:57
I don't I don't want to do this because it discredits Jordan so much, but to just talk about I mean, Jordan was one night in the playoffs before Scottie Pippen arrived.
00:38:07
That just that was just his record as well as in the regular season.
00:38:13
He did not until Scottie Pippen arrived.
00:38:16
Before that time, he did not have have a single regular season finish over 500.
00:38:21
His team did not get over 500 wins in any of the regular regular seasons before Scottie Pippen arrived, so he was not able to get it.
00:38:33
Is team without a clear number two.
00:38:35
Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, past the first round at all, obviously played some great teams, but still, it was not able to beat to get his team to the final.
00:38:46
Like LeBron Tin, OO said, Okay, uh, his next appearance was 2011.
00:38:52
I mentioned that as soon as we started, LeBron absolutely choked, uh, played awful.
00:38:58
And what was it? Games 45 and six, and he choked.
00:39:04
He looked ahead and thought, Okay, I have this under control.
00:39:07
When they went up to one, he choked and Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks took on the N B A championship 2012 2013.
00:39:17
LeBron played great play.
00:39:18
Good be Oklahoma City and the Spurs.
00:39:24
2014 Spurs got the revenge as they beat the Heat in five.
00:39:29
Um, you can count that one is LeBron.
00:39:33
Even though the heat were aging still, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh on the team.
00:39:38
2014.
00:39:39
If infamous, Game one cramped game after they were, they were in that game.
00:39:45
If, uh, if you remember, they were in that game, they had a chance to win game one in San Antonio.
00:39:50
They didn't win it.
00:39:51
LeBron went out with cramps.
00:39:52
Okay, Game two, they won.
00:39:54
You thought? Hey, this is gonna be serious.
00:39:57
But in Miami, San Antonio took over in one the next 31 game five to win the NBA championship, and LeBron moved on to Cleveland. Okay.
00:40:09
Ah, lot of these air right in a row is you know, LeBron 2015.
00:40:16
This one is if LeBron has this, if LeBron actually won this championship, so much would be so much would be changed.
00:40:24
The Warriors were not the warriors that we know that we think of when we say Golden State Warriors warriors, where I believe what were they second or third seed? They were not the powerhouse team that has blown through the regular season and the playoffs in these last four or five years.
00:40:44
Okay, they were.
00:40:46
They were a young team on the come up that if you look it throughout MBA history, you look at these young teams that get up, get up.
00:40:54
They always have that one time that stops them, they lose.
00:40:58
And then the next year they come back better, Right? The Warriors did not have that, and mainly because you look at Kevin Love went out in the first round.
00:41:06
Kelly Olynyk Absolutely Tor Kevin Love shoulder out.
00:41:11
So the Cavs went the entire playoffs with no Kevin Love and Kyrie.
00:41:16
Irving broke his kneecap in Game one, an overtime game that the Warriors won.
00:41:22
Even with that, LeBron put up absolutely ridiculous numbers.
00:41:25
Average a triple double of what had it would all had seven votes to LeBron's four votes for finals. M v p.
00:41:34
So LeBron made a huge case to win finals.
00:41:37
M V P.
00:41:38
That time that 2015 finals and his second best player was Matthew DellaVedova Handy Timothy Timothy Ma's Goff, who was his best.
00:41:49
I would say center a big man on that team, right? He was able to lead that team to a 21 lead and just got absolutely gassed in Game four as the Warriors won that game and then took over the Siri's 2016.
00:42:03
I don't think I have to speak too much about 2016.
00:42:07
What? LeBron comes back from 31 when? Okay, read this.
00:42:11
You know, I didn't all your just agreeing with my mom, whatever.
00:42:15
But LeBron Cavs coming back from 31 against the 73 73 and nine Golden State Warriors team.
00:42:24
Greatest regular season team better than Jordan's team.
00:42:27
Okay, he comes back 31 against that team, there's not much to say.
00:42:32
He gets his third title wins of Cleveland.
00:42:35
Right least next to I would love to just say did not happen, is Katie.
00:42:40
And if you know me, you know how much I absolutely hated.
00:42:44
Katie's week moved to the Warriors, and in 2017 as he moved, he went to the Warriors in 2017 2018 where is one finals in five games, and then they won in four games in 20.
00:42:58
They swept the cabs in 2018.
00:43:02
Okay, uh, we can set 2017 aside, 2018.
00:43:07
You just look at that playoff from LeBron head.
00:43:10
The buzzer beater against Indiana.
00:43:11
The buzzer beater against Toronto.
00:43:14
The see the seven game series yet against the Celtics and Jason Tatum.
00:43:18
Ah, young Jayson Tatum.
00:43:20
But a really good Celtics team who had him up were up 20 in the Siris in.
00:43:26
LeBron came back, and you look at the game 70 and you look at the Game one.
00:43:31
He had 51 8 and eight in game of the finals, and a lot of people don't know this, but I'm not trying to make him excuse here.
00:43:40
Just It's surprising a lot of people don't know this.
00:43:42
That LeBron broke his hand after Game one when he went into the locker room, infamous J.
00:43:48
R.
00:43:51
Smith game, punched a white board, broke his hand or maybe broken fingers, but injured his hand punching a white board.
00:43:58
That really wasn't the same for the rest of Siri's.
00:44:00
I'm not saying the Cavs would have even won a game if he was the same, just how loaded that Warriors team was, but he absolutely put on a show that entire playoff run.
00:44:10
It was sad to see him get swept with the team Me up on the Floria Jordan Clarkson, Kyle Korver, George Hill.
00:44:17
You know, Kevin Love was in and out the lineup with concussions.
00:44:22
It was just a rough 2018 2019 gets injured and then 2020 Obviously, Lakers win.
00:44:31
Eso You wanna look at finals? You can count.
00:44:37
You can discredit three of those finals.
00:44:41
07 you can.
00:44:44
Okay, you can discredit really.
00:44:46
The three he lost to the Warriors is he was undermanned, extremely in each of these, which is one of the big reasons warriors have.
00:44:56
Let's see.
00:44:58
2018 2017 2018 4. Hall of Famers.
00:45:01
Steph Clay.
00:45:03
Katie. No doubt about it.
00:45:05
Draymond my opinion.
00:45:06
He's a Hall of Famer.
00:45:07
Some people se Drummond's not a Hall of Famer, which I find crazy.
00:45:12
But Drummond is a Hall of Famer, right? Jordan.
00:45:16
During his title stretch, his nineties nineties rain there was only one team in the East that he went through on Lee.
00:45:23
One team in the East that had more than one Hall of Famer on it, and those his team was Scottie Pippen and then later Dennis Rodman.
00:45:33
So He was the one with the Hall of Famers on the team, going against the Eastern Conference with teams with Patrick Ewing on Lee Hall of Famer on the Knicks.
00:45:43
Okay, Reggie Miller with the Pacers.
00:45:45
Okay, so LeBron is always had to go against the harder team says you look at 07 Tim Duncan, Manu.
00:45:55
Tony Parker, right? I mean, this will probably be my last point here, but probably the second biggest thing people want to say.
00:46:04
Why joins the Goat is he's Mork Lush than LeBron, which I don't understand this narrative at all.
00:46:13
LeBron James shoots better and clutch time than Michael Jordan.
00:46:16
He's made Mawr clutch shots than Michael Jordan, and this is clutch shots or buzzer beaters.
00:46:22
Go ahead, game winners, and this is all with LeBron being a make the right play type of player instead of just hey, I'm going to shoot it because I'm the shoot it.
00:46:38
Good, bad shot.
00:46:40
We could take game.
00:46:42
What was the Game five, for example, when he passed Danny Green people, the people that got mad at LeBron for not shooting that ball where people that wanted him to shoot it because they wanted to compare him.
00:46:51
They wanted to see.
00:46:52
Oh, is he gonna? If he misses this, he's not to go.
00:46:55
He's not close clutch.
00:46:57
LeBron, driving to the rim, had three men on him with an open three point shooter and Danny Green at the top of the key.
00:47:02
That is the right play.
00:47:03
And you've you had Donovan Mitchell, uh, Trae Young, all these players back in LeBron like, if you don't know to pass the ball to Danny Green in that situation, you don't play basketball, right? Eso.
00:47:16
It's just interesting to see that people say LeBron is not clutch.
00:47:20
He had by far.
00:47:22
He is thieves, statistically, most clutch player in under two minutes of all time.
00:47:27
He's scored Mawr.
00:47:28
He's he shot better then Jordan.
00:47:31
He's score more buckets than Jordan.
00:47:34
He just statistically has a better chance of scoring a basket toe win the game than Michael Jordan did.
00:47:41
But the myth is he is not as clutches Jordan.
00:47:44
Obviously, Jordan has the final shot with the Bulls.
00:47:48
He is the game winner.
00:47:49
And what was it Game one or Game two of the 98 Siri's? It was 1 97 or 98 Siri's but it was early in the Siri's when they beat the Jazz right.
00:48:00
LeBron has the game seven two point are against the Spurs in 2013 when he hit it over.
00:48:08
Quite that a lot of people don't talk about, but I find that is one of his biggest clutch shots.
00:48:13
The blockhead.
00:48:14
That is my signature play.
00:48:16
People always ask, What's LeBron signature play defensive play, where he blocks Iguodala for From potentially going, It's going to go ahead and game winning championship points for the Warriors.
00:48:27
But if you do your research and look up the stats, it's very evident. LeBron.
00:48:33
Statistically is a better clutch player than Michael Jordan.
00:48:37
If you want to talk about okay, well, if he doesn't pass the eye test that that's on you.
00:48:44
But statistically, LeBron has always been better.
00:48:46
Club has been clutch er, then Jordan for a while now, and that's just how it is.
00:48:52
So you know how how I feel.
00:48:56
I have LeBron is my goat and I loved all because it's hard to just say one thing without I obviously look like a LeBron stand right now.
00:49:05
So one I'd love to have someone on the other side arguing this and we'll try and make that work.
00:49:13
But that's just how it is in my opinion.
00:49:15
Eso on that note, that's all.
00:49:18
That's all the time I have for tonight.
00:49:19
Thank you so much.
00:49:20

00:00:11
Yeah.
