my Maria Lo fantasy football fans.
Welcome to another edition of getting defensive on Monday morning.
Happy to have destined with me again today.
You guys pretty call this last weekend? We're here to just talk.
General I d p this this morning.
We don't have just one topic.
We have a few players to talk about and just just kind of bouncing around here trying to help out as much as we can with the I. D. P. Community.
How you doing this morning? Just do good.
Very good. Good. Thio.
See you and talk to you.
Yeah, Lots of got some player injuries.
Cem, Cem players coming back.
Lots of lots of different topics to discuss this morning.
So let's get right to it, because that's got a little bit of a time thing going on.
So we want to get on these and try to get as much before he needs to take off.
Um, well, the first thing we're gonna talk about is that how hot cubes are for some people.
I personally don't suggest them myself that when you have a designated defensive back position in your lineup, you know what do you prefer for the using the cornerback? Or do you prefer using a safety? Um, there's there's a lot of people that will stream.
There are a lot of people that will, like, just chase points.
Um, I don't know how to generally category categorize that way of using a Q B because I have to use the Q B or played in the league that just uses cubes in a long time.
So but basically what? Where I come from, okay? And I'm not sure where Justin is gonna approach this from, because we haven't really talked this out.
But I prefer using safeties because when I look at things on paper, I feel that there, Mork consistent.
Um, you may not get that super high hit ceiling, but I think consistency over all will end up helping you not take a big fat zero, and I might give some examples here in a minute.
What are your thoughts? Justin.
I'm in the exact same boat, the for me.
I prefer the consistency, too, and I understand that there are players who you know, can can you know, they embrace the swings.
They're they're they're okay with getting a bunch of zeros, uh, in hopes for that game where you know, you get Yeah, we're somebody finally picks off Aaron Rodgers and you get a pick six, you know, like those things definitely happen.
And, you know, and also the other thing is that at the end of each year, like when you look at the stat sheets, when you when you look at where all our defensive backs, you know, end up for the end of the year, you'll always have some cornerbacks mixed in with those safeties.
And it's enticing TOC that you confined, you know, like rookie cornerbacks get picked on a lot, so they will have, you know, a fairly high tackle floor.
But for me, because I already have to deal, you know, you and I already have to deal with the variance of defensive lineman.
They already can give up.
You know, like Aaron, Donald Aaron, Donald.
I think he had two assisted tackles last night, and the week before he had four sacks.
I have enough variance in my defensive line that I prefer having the literally the safety of having safeties for my defensive backs, you know, nine times out of 10.
That's where I fall.
Yeah, and you're right on the defensive lines like Josh Allen has been all over the place.
All these guys have really been all over the place this year.
The consistency has become a problem.
And when you think you've got to figure it out lo and behold, you know they turn around and achieve more then what they should have or they don't get it when they were supposed thio back on the cornerbacks.
Yeah, I have people that ask me questions all the time.
Would you play this cornerback with and I'm like, Look, man, you know, I try to answer the questions, and I try not to be, you know, directly.
I root about it.
I just don't do them.
I have one tool that I use that I I give our members to try to figure out on their own.
That's a Sfar as I go.
But just an example here.
So I'm looking at an NFL.
My fantasy league that that I'm in and in the first week.
Okay. You had jerk.
He went off 23 points in this league.
Okay, so he's leading This is the defensive backs and cornerbacks mixed together.
Okay, So you had Mosley.
He had 22 points. So you had Hayward.
He went off pool.
Alexander? Uh, yeah, a bunch of these cornerbacks here.
I have a total of about 15 that would score high.
Then you turn around and look at the very next week and Onley three of them repeated.
Then you turn around and look the next week.
After that, there's only about four that repeated, and they're different.
There has only been one consistent player.
That's been Hilton for Pittsburgh, which he doesn't even play all the all the snap counts.
He's the slot guy, right? Yeah, yeah, and what they're doing with Hilton.
The reason I think that Hilton is, uh consistent is because when he's not in the slot, they'll sometimes moved Terrel Edmonds into the slot.
And then Hilton will play actually safety.
So Hilton is one of those great players, like if you play in a league where you have to start a cornerback, um, Hilton's the guy because you're essentially getting safety.
Tafel floor, with the upside of, you know, passes defensed and interceptions on and They're also, you know, something that Gary, I've been kind of batting around us.
How? Maney secondary.
Um, how many people in the second they are getting used? His pass rushers? Well, they've used Hilton some as a pass rusher.
So they're using him kind of all around the field on that's That's a That's a rarity like you were saying about, like, you know, Mosley, right? You're that first week, What will happen is, you know, offensive coordinator and a quarterback.
Well, you know, look at their you know, look at their opponents and they'll think Okay, you know what we've got, you know, like like Aaron Rodgers was like, All right, Any time we get Davante Adams matched up with this cornerback, we're going to go after him the whole game.
Well, that cornerback is gonna have 10 tackles, because there he's got you know, Rodgers has got a complete 10 passes to.
Yeah, but then the next week, that guy will get two tackles because that won't be the game plan.
And if you're not careful, you'll chase those points.
You'll think Oh, man, Mosley had 14 tackles first week and then you grab him, and then he's not part of the offensive attack the next week.
Yeah, and that z exactly right.
I mean, that's in my opinion, from where I look at it and most I d p.
People that do this, I think think that way there's this movement about making cornerbacks more relevant and all this, and they're messing with the scoring formats and all that.
You know, I I get that, and maybe it will be able to figure that out.
But right now, and and most of your face where you just go into your league and you set your stuff two or you're scoring format, you know, and you look at what a cornerback does, that's exactly it is inconsistency.
And if you have that inconsistency, you can go from having 15 points or whatever it is one week and then take a big fat zero or one or two or whatever it is, and that consistency will lose you on the on.
The long run will lose you that game, and that's that's the name of the consistency game is to get an average.
I'd rather have 89 solid points or whatever it is that middle range consistently every week and not have to worry so much about taking a fat zero.
Same thing with linemen.
Yeah, that fat zero is what really kills you, you know? Yeah, I agree.
I you know, I'm font of saying I'm going to bludgeon my opponent to death by having above average consistency, like, you know, every week I'm gonna get, you know, so as opposed to taking chances on these these high variance players, I'm gonna try to have as much above average consistency across the board particularly, you know, because in most I d p leagues, this means you've got, you know, ah, full offensive roster and then anywhere from 1 to 11 i d people.
That's a lot of fantasy production.
And if you you know, we've all been burned by getting too many.
You know, You know, you've had solid play and by most of your roster, but if you've got two or three or four duds, you know that that will ruin your week, you know, And to me, the high variance is to me, the risk is not worth the reward again.
Because, as we were saying, because our defensive linemen are already have enough variance.
Yeah, real quick.
So Okay, so I mentioned cornerbacks were in there in that first week.
You know that Top 20 was stacked with cornerbacks when it really comes down to it, Uh, then you turn around, you get a week to all of a sudden we're cutting it down and the safeties come up, okay? They were still there to begin with.
Okay, there, there averages.
They're staying there.
But most of those cornerbacks didn't do well.
They did well, weak one.
They didn't do well in week two.
Um, now all of a sudden, I've got new names sitting here looking at me in the in week two.
So mhm my thinking here.
And while I'm saying that and I could go down the row, it will do it on week three, week four, week five, and all the way up to this week now.
But if an I. D. P.
Owner, if you look at it and you want to see what we're talking about, now that we have 5 to 6 weeks, it's really easy to see.
Go into ESPN, Yahoo, whoever.
Of course, I don't play Yahoo, but NFL, whatever it ISS, and most of the time they have a way to sort by average.
That's all you got to do.
If you pull up your D V section or whatever and hit the average of what it is, it's gonna sort that by average you will be able to see you've gotta look.
So if there's still a Q B up there and say it says he's averaging nine points, look at that individual Q B because he might have had out of six games, he might have had to that he went off and had, like, 30 points and then the rest.
He's turned around and he's got, uh, you know, two points.
So that averages inflated.
So you need to, like, Look at that cornerback.
See if he's got consistency every week, getting you know that number.
If not, then you're gonna look at a safety, and you'll probably see there will be, you know, 9 to 12 or whatever.
You have that consistency every week.
So I don't want it's out too long, But go ahead.
No, I was gonna say I think one of the most, um uh, ill used, um uh, statistics or phrases is so and so is averaging X fantasy points per week over the last three weeks.
Or, you know, because you know, that's not how you win.
We have toe win with you have to win each week.
And so if someone puts up ah, massive game like a manual.
Mosley had a massive game in Week one.
Did nothing in weeks two and three.
But over the first three weeks, he's still averaging, you know.
Ah, good statistics.
So I totally agree with Gary like, don't be fooled by the how much they're averaging you.
You actually need to drill down and see week by week what they're doing now.
What you can do is say, Well, if this guy is giving me about 6 to 8 tackles, you know, three out of every four weeks or five out of every seven weeks to me, that's how I think about average, as opposed to just looking at that number and say, Okay, well, this guy's averaging more.
It's It's usually not that, you know, you're not that easy.
I remember this having this issue with quarterbacks, you know, you'd have you have, like, a like I remember.
I used to start Tony Romo, and he'd blow up one week and then just tank the next and blow up the next week and tank the next.
Eso I would win one week and lose a week and win one week and lose a week.
And then people would say, Well, yeah, but he's averaging Well, I was like, I'm still two and two.
That doesn't help.
May and that really that consistency.
If you do make the playoffs, you're out the first week or the second was always covered it.
Yeah, So I turned around.
The last thing I want to say about that was I went ahead and I hit the average on here.
When I hit the average on here, I literally have.
I went from having those 10 to 12 every week, popping up with good numbers right now and my repair our desire of the Jets.
Josh Norman dope.
He's only did it in two weeks, uh, on average butler, but he's been all over the map.
He's had three good games out of five.
Of course. He got hurt last night.
Whoever replaces him, by the way, might be, if you're looking for a quarterback, if if if he could be replaced.
It's his position, not the players.
It seems like right now, if I had the O own them would be Humphrey.
That's all the consistency I see right here.
And Hilton? Yeah.
Other than that, there is still fluctuation.
The rest of that top 20 top 30 is is safeties in average.
And that's gonna win you games, guys.
That that consistency is gonna win you games and trust us.
That means your what happened.
Well, this is what happens if you're they avoided it out.
Patrick Peterson has never been a cornerback place since your one.
Anyways, we need to move on here.
I want to make sure we hit other ones.
If you have nothing else to add.
Justin, I was gonna ask you about A couple of players are gonna be on hot waiver wires this week.
Let's dig into those players, all right? The first guy I wanna start out with his crowder Crowder is a linebacker for the Giants.
He is actually a rookie.
I believe he was actually there. Mr Irrelevant.
Um, all of a sudden, they starting last week, he started playing next toe. Martinez.
Uh, he had a really good game yesterday.
I really form that.
I didn't think anybody did this, but I didn't have a choice in this format.
I actually grabbed him, stuck him in because he had a really good match up via the formula.
I use the my charts.
I don't know if you had I was actually warning people off in my so my golden rules.
I want to see it three weeks in a row.
Any player? Yeah, that was he consistency for three weeks in a row that I feel like that I can trust it and suggested to people s Oh, we've got this second weekend and here he is, performed.
I think I've seen he played more snaps than he did the first week.
Let me look here.
I think we're looking at What do you have? I know he had 75 in the first, so he had 85.
This this past game against the Redskins are I'm sorry, Washington.
I apologize, but l A s So that's that's a I mean, that's not bad.
What do you What do you think? Is this it thinking in your head? Where would you slide him in? We're gonna have Adams.
We're probably gonna have sent. Maybe Singleton.
I mean, would you grab this guy anticipating that he's gonna stick there? I think so.
Because, you know, Martin Blake Martinez has, you know, been obviously been the guy there, and they haven't been running out, you know? Ah, whole lot of, ah, secondary linebackers next to Martinez consistently in terms of snap counts. Right.
And this is what we saw from Martinez last year with the Packers.
Is he was essentially the loan, every down linebacker.
Um, really good player.
But he does have some issues, you know, and coverage.
And it does seem like that.
How, you know, because of some of their own injuries in the secondary, I think the Giants are trying to get Crowder on the field.
We've seen that now.
Two weeks in a row, he had 10 tackles, six of which were solo.
Um, next to Martinez is four tackles for sorry.
14 tackles, eight of which were solo.
So now kind of two weeks in a row here what we're starting to see is ah, lot of the production is going Thio Martinez and then Crowder.
So for me, you know, we're gonna get some other names who I'd probably take.
I'd probably put ahead of crowder and waiver wires, but toe have him as, like, an l B three.
You know, with some nice upside there in that in that giants.
So I definitely think you'd wanna, you know, now that we've at least in two weeks, if you if you need him, let's go ahead and try to jump on him earlier rather than later.
Right? And we're gonna cover four linebackers here real quick or as we do this.
So there's Crowder.
And then at the end, I want to get Justin, me and him.
We're going to give our rank of how we would, you know, if we need linebacker this coming week.
You gotta realize, folks, that this all can change by the time we get to for personal charge.
Are you cover all 32 teams and designated positions and suggest people You know what dio for your to uh So you realize this, folks, this is just off the go ahead.
It's Monday morning.
All right, so we're gonna move on.
So power? Yeah, I'm gonna think about this.
Kind of kind of plus them in making order.
If I'm looking for a waiver wire linebacker? Um, a huge provided to the moment.
Anyway, So the then we have Houston, Houston's McKinney went down, and we've got a young guy.
I think he's undrafted named Adams.
Uh, I was worried that maybe Adams, because they've had another kid on their named cold that has been in and out of the starting line up over the last couple of years.
So I kind of pump the brakes on that a little bit.
I did end up believing it in the opposite.
I've got to money leagues that are really deep formatted, and the other one habit of trying toe.
You know, you develop a habit of drafting the same linebackers you get in a rhythm and stuff.
So I was in the same exact situation where I needed to fill in and Crowder was gone.
But Adams was there and not Homewood.
Second game here, he produced decently enough.
I didn't take a fat zero, you know, that? Yeah.
I don't know if I'm gonna win, but I'm I'm just saying it help.
I can't remember what you got.
Yeah, pretty well.
I think I like informing six packed war.
Well, this for sure.
Yeah. This week.
This week he did.
Well, I'm gonna pull it up.
Not she out Produced Cunningham? Yeah, he had.
He had eight tackles, six of which were solo.
But he also had a sack on.
He had to P d a Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he didn't. Cunningham.
Actually, I don't remember being mad, right? Yeah, there is. Yeah.
And cutting him both had eight tackles, but Adams had more solos than than Cunningham.
And obviously those big plays help, but yeah, I was with you, Gary, Like I we knew that, you know, Dylan Cole would be in the mix, and and I was, you know, for that first week when McKinney went down, You know, you have this issue of of, like, we have no way of knowing whether it's gonna be Adams or coal, and often it's usually a mix where they'll say you look, neither of these guys can handle a three down roll.
So we'll use you know, we'll use one of and that just creates a mess.
And if you if you, you know, use it, use it on the wrong player you could really get burned and so kind of, you know, going back to your point about looking for consistency.
You know, the first week out, Adams took the, you know, took all the snaps.
I don't think Cole, um uh, kind of future like, yeah, for whatever reason.
Well, I thought Adam like that.
Yeah, Yeah, it was like a gender 20% or something.
I was like, what? That was about, but I think it leveraged back out this week.
But now this is two weeks in a row where Adams is the guy. There he started.
He played a ton of snaps.
He obviously produced, right.
He played 76% of the snaps on.
Yeah, Cunningham went right back to being an every down linebacker.
You know, usually if we see some of these every down players and one week they like, miss, you know, 10 or 20 snaps, it might just be like they got banged up a little bit or they got gassed.
So if it happens, yeah, the whole only played snaps on special teams.
This is second week in a row, so I really like Adams.
McKinney's role is productive, as you know, on De.
So Adams is kind of a plug and play to get that McKinney kind of tackle production.
I think he could be a solid L B two for the rest of the season, at least right that were, Don't forget people were really talking the rest of the season or upcoming games, because when it comes to Dynasty, you know, there's no way we could make this call this early on whether these guys gonna stick and I find it funny.
In my opinion between Crowder and Adams is you have Adam stepping into more of a run stopping role with the with the his position where Maquina McKinney stayed in, there was Mawr in the box, Uh, Mike linebacker, I believe.
And then on credit, you have him next to Martina Martinez as the coverage linebacker.
That is where he's excelled.
And that's why, like that interception, that is why the Giants like him is because he is.
He's able to cover.
And that's something they haven't had in with the Giants in a few years.
Quite a few years now, So I agree.
I like him, too.
I like his, uh, I have to give him the ceiling bass tackle advantage over Crowder a little bit to the fact what a role is in that inside linebacker position.
So, another guy.
Yeah, and I seen this and I was mhm.
I hate Philadelphia in their whole inside linebackers situation.
Gurry is the poorest graded my backer out there.
I think we might have hit on that last week in this show.
But either way, um, but that's not who we want to talk about because girls going nowhere right now.
He's there. Core guy that matter.
He could he could crap his pants on there. They're gonna let him play.
It doesn't matter.
But we went through.
There was a period where it looked like the second year Guy Edwards was coming up, and then he got hurt.
So they threw Duke Riley back into the mix last week.
And, of course, Duke Riley got hurt this week.
The one consistency is that they've been getting this Singleton in there and he has been playing and he got more and more snaps.
Is the last few games going on, and all this has been happening? Well, all of a sudden, with Riley out, Edwards out, they've thrown Singleton in there and he had a good, productive game.
Um, I didn't mention his word when I was doing my charts.
It was like it was a jinx.
I'm like, because it's Philadelphia and I believe how they used.
They just have this timeshare other than Gurry.
And sometimes Gurry is still not even getting full time snaps.
It just depends what packages or what they're running or so on.
So I'm interested in seeing with Singleton's is one game.
I don't know if Riley is gonna be back next week.
I don't think he's on IR.
I can't remember the extent of his injury, either.
I don't I don't think he's on IR, but I feel like it's significant enough that that they're not expecting him back.
But Aiken, I'm and pull that up.
But yeah, I mean, Singleton had a good game.
He did play a ton of snaps like you're saying, um, Gary? Uh, yeah, me too.
Actually, yeah. Gary played.
Um, yeah, Gary played 93% in Alex and Singleton played 89%.
In other words, they were separated by just three snaps, and they also put up similar production.
Both of these guys.
It'd be great if we got some sort of consistency out of out of this linebacking crew.
Yeah. Singleton had nine tackles.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly.
Singleton had nine tackles.
Gary had eight tackles.
And you know, that's man.
That's solid production.
I'm gonna try and see what the deal is with Riley's injury.
I don't wanna move too much.
We'll lock up, lose everything.
We know how my crap it is.
So yeah, and I'm impressed that they felt comfortable enough to leave him on the field because even with Riley when they put him in there, I'm pretty sure like last week that he did not see but, like, maybe 80% or less So And the Eagles is another one of those teams.
They they believe it or not, The Eagles group Linebacker group is the least expensive group in the NFL, where there were all these other I had a chart, and this year I think in total, they're paying on Li like $2 million total for their whole linebacker crew.
They just do not value that position.
So to see that and they've done that for a few years and most of time.
I mean, Brad, um was out there for a long time, is an every down guy, but that started changing last year.
Plus, you started getting hurt, but at the same time, it's just we really not had a firm guy until Gurry all of a sudden, which I can't believe e just that poor.
I mean, he's in 30 three's forties on Pff grades.
That's just poor that is so poor.
But eventually I will probably like the Singleton.
This is a good opportunity for him if he can show that he can't miss tackles because that's it.
That's the problem with Curry.
He misses a lot of tackles.
He gets a lot of tackles, but he misses a lot of tackles, so Singleton can actually continue his mo mentum and I haven't looked at his numbers.
I don't know what is Miss tackles are.
I don't know anything about what happened yesterday other than what he recorded.
Um, I like his opportunity and I'm still looking at Edwards.
I think that if when Edwards gets healthy, that he could be in the mix, too again, it just really depends what Singleton does right now.
And we've only had Yeah, right.
Yeah, and opportunity is huge here, like, you know, if you if, if you have a player who's who's fairly talented, but there's no room because their starters air entrenched above them when the starter comes back, that guy's definitely going to the bench.
Well, that's not That's not the case, necessarily here in Philly.
There, Kaplan, uh, NFL insider, who knows the the Eagles really well, was shocked that they didn't that the Eagles were going to go into the season with this line back, and he's like he could not believe it.
He he totally expected them to pick up a least one veteran linebacker didn't happen.
They're just they're like you're saying they don't value that position.
And what that really means for us for fantasy is that ah, player like Edwards or Singleton could emerge as an every down player and, more importantly, a producer.
So we certainly don't know that yet, But if you've got a back end, you know, bench spot, if you if you are, like looking to possibly stash and L B Um, yeah, I don't know how you feel about this, Gary, but for me so far, it would be Adams over Crowder.
And then after Crowder, you know, as we move down the list, you know, a last ditch effort on somebody like Singleton.
I mean, there's there's worse waiver wire options because he could easily grow into this role.
He had nine tackles last week.
If he if he could settle into, like, a 6 to 9 tackle guy next to Gary Man, that's that's valuable, particularly as we go through these by weeks and there's another doctor to Okay, so say, just hypothetically, this Will Singleton, still weak of producing his weight like prouder and Adams.
Okay, it really with the Philadelphia.
So he played 89% of the snaps this week.
He could come out next week and play 65.
Just don't know what the hell that eagles going to do. It just there.
All of this in my question in my mind right now.
So, yeah, I have to agree.
Right now, we're sitting at Adams Crowder and and then down the Singleton.
And, of course, in the we'll move right along in the worst case scenarios.
Bush went down last night, and I believe he's tour something.
So? So they put in.
What's his name? Spillman.
Elaine didn't Blaine.
Everybody had to be gone.
Who's this guy? Because I mean this guy.
I don't know if he's ever even playing.
So he is Bush's backup.
But, I mean, he was He was He was an undrafted free agent.
Um, and, you know, they just they do***ent how long I don't I'm sorry. I can't look.
I'm gonna try and look that I don't I don't think he was his ears back up.
I don't think he's been on the on the team that long, but I'm gonna I'm gonna look that up, because now I'm curious about that, too.
But he's he's certainly like they have, you know, I think, if anything, and this is probably where you're going with this is like, um, the Steelers aren't likely.
Thio hand the keys to this very good defense over to Robert Spillane.
They've got Vince Williams, who obviously knows the system probably better than anyone.
He's been there for a long time.
They have, ah, bunch of capable safeties back there.
That and that's my worry with Spillane as they could move Edmonds into more of a linebacker role because, you know, they obviously could move a lot of players around.
They do have, ah, third safety that they could throw in there.
Um, I know they don't want to see Vince Williams on the field every down, but I'm not sure they want Robert Splaine out there on it.
You know, he looks like a **** right now.
I noticed that in the game yesterday.
He looks like a defensive end out there playing linebacker.
He's getting long in the tooth.
He's putting on that way, you know, But he's being the job done, so he's been sporadic over the years.
I've never I've never rostered them that, you know, people ask about him like, you know, he's an up and down type of do, but yeah, we're really gonna have toe wonder what they're gonna do going forward? Um, I mean, it counts an I d.
If they feel that this kid on the on the field, 75% even if it's only 75% or 80% mawr a week, then he's gonna offer some production.
He is e think he went on last night after.
Okay, So Bush went down in the second quarter.
I think maybe something like that went on.
I always say explain Played 53% of the snaps.
Basically, he just It was like an emergency.
Like, Alright, Bushes outlet.
We have to put his backup.
And And so Spillane played.
It only amounted to 30 snaps.
Um, but he posted He posted six tackles, five of which were solo.
Um uh, They did.
Say, like Bush has been frustrating for us.
And he's a you know, he's a He's a really good player.
Way talked a little bit about him last week, so it would be okay.
For example, let's take Tyrell Adams.
Adams is stepping into a role where we know McKinney is Ah, 7 to 10 tackle guy.
Um, you know, we know what that role is, um, and so there's.
And so far Adams has produced similar production.
Toe What we expected from McKinney.
So So that's That's a clearer path in terms of your waiver wires.
Right starting job.
The guy filling in is doing that production.
Spillane is trickier because Bush hasn't been super productive on his own.
Yeah, I looked him up, so he undrafted free agent.
He joined the Steelers last year.
He was with Pittsburgh in his rookie year, then was cut.
Sorry, sorry. He was with Tennessee.
His rookie year, 2018 cut.
Pittsburgh picked him up last year.
He had 11 tackles, Uh, on a very low snap count, obviously all of 2019.
And he's only had one tackle in the game before he got.
So apparently, he's just He's a Tom.
The guy he probably does what he's told.
Thomas brothers really particular strict guys.
He don't want you to vary from his his way of playing, and he expects something.
So I mean, he's got that going for him.
He they want and made him a back up the bush for no reason at all.
You know, he would have he.
That's what he probably knows.
He understands the defense or whatever it is.
He's the next man up.
And if Bush is out, which I like, I think we said we need to order something then then he's gotta be an option and and I want to say real quick exactly what we was talking about, because you are.
I'm not sure if I got this in when we talked about Bush before somebody asked, What's wrong with Bush? I mean, prior to the season, you know, Bush and Devon White and all these guys, second year guys were all ranked up there high, and you know I'm guilty of it.
I put Bush up there, too.
Wasn't expecting this, But realistically, when you look at it the front seven or the front line in front of him and J.
J and to Pre and Hayward and to it, there's so **** good these bushes just back here cleaning up scraps half the **** time.
So you know if there's there's the the front, the front guys air so good that Bush is just not getting those opportunities unless he bust his ass and it might be a reason that we see that I'm gonna hack up his name again.
The kids they stick stuck in there last night.
He was busting his ass.
I'm in here, you know, and you don't You don't think that when he ran to the sideline the next time that they were on the sideline, he didn't go.
Hey, what happened to book? Which is you coming back? You know, he's thinking, Oh, this is my shot.
This is you know, that that happens.
And did the big will start targeting them, you know? Yeah.
Exactly right? Yeah.
Business off or their young, their unproven There in there and defend our offensive coordinators of opposing teams are going to be like, Hey, let's see if thinking good again, let's see if this is a weak spot and they pick on those.
So these numbers that we're seeing coming out of these guys can vary once they get tested.
If they prove themselves, they're well, we're not getting any benefit by actually targeting these guys.
So let's go ahead and just run our playbook.
You know, that's kind of how I feel about it.
So all these guys can, you know, and based on their matchups next week, You know, I'm not gonna flip out if I'm holding on.
So I got Crowder in one, and I got Adams in another, and I'm not letting him go.
I might trade him if I could find Anybody wants to trade because I got plenty of linebackers.
Just I was in a position this week.
I couldn't do anything.
Um, but at this point, uh, I'm not gonna freak out if the kids say crowder, Adams or whatever, if they play next week, depending on their matchup and even on their matchup, if they still get those 80% or better snack counts, I'm not going to freak out.
I'm not gonna freak out if they only get two or three tackles.
You know, it's just how the ball rolls.
That's how the ball rolls with good players, you know? So okay, so here we're blowing it down.
We got Crowder, Adam single 10 and Pittsburgh.
Do, uh, you you putting on your waiver wire? What order are you going for me? It's Adams.
He McKinney's McKinney's out for the year, so it's Adam's gig for a Sfar as we can see eso, you know, rest of the season again.
This is everything we're saying right now.
Address the season we have.
Neither Gary or I have looked at the matchups over the next couple of weeks, so we're not factoring in that.
We're not even worrying about Dynasty this point. We just right.
So, Adams, for me, it's Adams is number one.
After that, it would be Crowder.
I like his potential there.
He's done it for two weeks in a row.
Secondary is hurting.
Only thing there is that I think he's got more variance as to how often he'll be.
Why, for me, he's a step lower.
Um, and then after that, it's, uh, just before splay.
Who's the third guy we talked about? Totally Blood case.
Single said yes. Then it's Singleton.
And to me, Singleton is gonna be an upside guy.
You know there's risk there with, you know, Riley has a rib injury, but he'll be back, probably in the next couple of weeks.
So this might only be a yeah, exactly.
So the thing is between, um, Riley, Edwards, um, Gary and Singleton there's opportunity for Singleton to take that role.
But there's obviously, uh, there's risk because you have those other players involved.
So the variance is higher for me.
And then finally, for me, it would be explain.
I do think they're probably gonna have to roll with Spillane whether they want to or not, unless they, you know, signed somebody.
But since Bush hasn't been incredibly productive, and Pittsburgh's defense is obviously doing very well without needing Bush to do a whole lot, um oh, yeah, that's a good question.
I might put Spillane over, um over Singleton.
I don't think so, because I I like single toe.
I think I think Spillane is going to be a steady producer for us, But I think it's gonna be in the 4 to 6 tackle range as opposed to Singleton Bush.
Yeah, exactly right.
But Singleton it leads, although it's high variance.
The ceiling for Singleton, for me is higher than the Singleton for Spillane.
How did how did they rank for you, Gary? Exactly the same exactly this game and that's going right off of that.
I mean, looking at their positions that they're playing their opportunities the team's air on, um, and we're again.
He, uh that said it.
These guys in my line up next week, I'm running out, and I am not going to go.
Okay, this is a hot guy, you know, unless I am desperate, desperate, like I was this weekend, which I'm not.
I'm gonna pick them up.
But these air death players for me right now, just to see what's gonna happen and see if they're gonna be viable, plays down the road.
Now, they're gonna be a lot of people because there should before we four teams on buying in this coming week.
So there are gonna be people that they're looking for these guys, and and I just want to be clear that you're gonna have to wait and hopefully check somebody, you know, check our information out at the end of the week so that you could see which player if you did get one.
If his matchups any good, you know, are by default.
So I'm just saying in the back your mind Look at it that I'm not planning on any of these guys being in my lineup next week.
If I don't have to and then set your waivers and I would go exactly like that, I'd go. Adams, Crowder.
Singleton does have that edge over because we're looking at what Bush did.
Now, uh, he might come out and he I'm gonna hack his name up Spillman e once a Spillman for some reason.
Good old Spillman.
I'm going 15 years.
Whatever his name is.
Hey, might come out next week and he might produce again in a I just don't see just like you on one singleton for his ceiling.
Long term, if it's gonna work out, I just don't see it is probably gonna end up.
All of a sudden they're gonna settle, settle this kid down in Pittsburgh, and he's just going to be exactly what? What's is bad.
And Bush has basically been a linebacker, too every week.
I don't think I don't know.
I'm not sure, but Bush has not been that guy that you're winning each week with.
So, um, I don't know how much time you've got left.
You wanna hit anymore, or I'm a little bit past due, so I gotta I gotta I gotta bounce, unfortunately, um, but if you want to save some of this other go ahead.
Yeah, yeah, we got we got We got lots of topics we Gary and I wanna be covering.
So and hopefully we'll get some of the other other guys on on here is well, and I'll try to pop on when I can, but yeah, this has been fun.
And I do think this is gonna help people with their waiver wires because these air Cem thes air some deep linebackers that you are gonna want to stash, and hopefully this helps you guys sort out how they would fit in your league.
So, re cat look at your average is on your defensive backs.
It depends on your scoring and everything like that.
You're probably gonna find out you're safer going safeties, especially the strong safeties.
If you look at the average, don't look atyou.
And then the next week he's going to get five or zero even worse because of the situation and the scheme change.
And then we turned around.
We talked about all these linebackers, four of them that's gonna be coming into play on the waiver wire.
And we both agreed Crowder Adams Singleton in Pittsburgh.
I'll get to know that I'll type it like 20 times this week.
It will be okay. I bet you will. Yeah.
Eso glad you all joined us this Monday.
I don't see any questions.
You guys wanna ask those during the program a little bit more adapted this so I'll keep an eye on that.
I appreciate you guys viewing, and I hope you catch this next week.
