Gilmore claims that he is ready to return.
Man, I just saw that today.
Yes, The four New England Patriots were placed on reserve slash cove in 19 list earlier this month, and that included Stefan Gilmore.
After nearly two weeks, the reigning defensive player of the year declared on Instagram that he is ready to make his return to football.
His post came with a video of himself making a defensive stop, with the caption Ready to be back in action.
Gilmore has claimed to be asymptomatic since testing positive for the coronavirus pearly guidelines.
Ah player would be off the list if he remains without symptoms.
Furthermore, he would also if he also returns to negative test within 24 hours.
In between with his post, it seems like the two time first team All Pro has cleared protocols.
This is certainly good news for the Patriots.
Aside from Gilmore, New England is also missing quarterback Cam Newton and defensive tackles Bill Murray and Byron Court It's a great sign that the world is coming from Gilmore himself.
Nonetheless, the Patriots have yet to make an official announcement regarding the status of their for infected players.
Gilmore of We as we Know all, played last against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 5th.
Two days later, the three time Pro Bowler tested positive for the virus.
There is a possibility that Gilmore could rejoin New England when they return on Wednesday for their on court preparations against the Denver Broncos.
The Patriots Broncos game had originally been rescheduled on Monday, however, the league decided to move to the game next Sunday after New England turned in another Positive cove in 19 tests on Sunday morning.
So, Connor, let me say this or ask you this or whatever I believe and maybe I'm off base here.
But I believe getting Cam Newton back on this team is a little bit more important than getting stuff on Gilmore back.
Look, getting Gilmore back is gonna be super important, but our secondary is a lot deeper than our quarterback position as we saw against the Kansas City Chiefs, and I think especially against the Denver Broncos, even if Drew Lock and No Affect were, say back for the game.
I think that the likes of J. C.
Jackson, Jason McCourty, Juwan Williams and the boys, um, would be able to take care of business.
What's your thoughts? I agree completely.
I think first and foremost, if they're the biggest person coming back is obviously Cam Newton.
But if there's any position with the Patriots, have a ton of great depth.
That's cornerback, you know what I mean? So not that it's not great to get stuff on Gilmore back, and not that he's not one of the best people at his position.
But if there's any place where the Patriots are stacked cornerback is that position? Yeah, I mean, like having Stefan Gilmore makes things a lot easier not having them, it makes the secondary that much more dangerous.
I'm just thinking Cam Newton is the much more important piece to that puzzle because I can't go through another week of Jarrett Stidham and Brian Heuerman, right? I can't either.
We have toe have Cam Newton back.
I mean, I know before we both said that we think that they'd be ableto get by with either stadium or Hoyer just because the Broncos were such, you know, a weaker opponent.
But I still I can't watch another week of them.
One week was more than enough.
Well, no. And it's funny.
After the Patriots kind of get forced into playing against Kansas City, A lot of Patriot fans called foul.
You called foul.
Um, I called foul as well.
I thought it was Bs that they had to play because of covert.
A lot of us think, you know, from a selfish fan perspective, they got screwed having to play without Cam Newton.
They catch a bit of a break after what we're here.
Bill Belichick kind of turned the screws a little bit to the league, and so there's no way we can play Monday after having you know another positive test, you know, and I was reading an article in the Global Mail today, and I so desperately wanted that to be our story of the day.
But obviously we use a different publication here on SportsCastr picking out our stories of the day, and it was talking about how great of a job Bill Belichick has actually done throughout this whole cove in 19 process and that this isn't just about football.
And he's actually making the on field product like the second priority and the health of his players being the first priority, which I think with full people who have this illusion that, you know, Bill Belichick is just this football first, has no emotion, doesn't care about his players.
Damian Harris came back out and said he feels great that Bill Belichick.
They feel like Belichick has their back and he's gonna do whatever he can to keep them safe.
Um, on the other side, you got the Denver Broncos who were like Melvin Gordon winding the game gets canceled.
Dan Fan, our vic Fangio is talking about.
Well, now we're gonna find out that basically, basically came out and said, We're gonna find out you know who are the *****'s of the league who aren't, You know, they're not worried about Cove in 19 whatsoever.
I'd like to know what Von Miller has to say after he said was one of the worst pains he ever went through when he had it.
Who is also happens to be a Denver Broncos is such a different mentality.
But right now I'm actually pretty proud of Bill Belichick in the way that he's kind of handled the situation and he's really saying like, Hey, yeah, football is important.
I think his exact term was like, You can't have a team if your whole team sick, right? Right? And it's funny because I was randomly sitting in a car earlier at work today and whatever station it was either 95 or 93 7 out here.
The negative sports media in Boston was trying to say that Belichick was on Lee doing it to try and avoid playing last week and then to play this week instead and that he was trying to make it look like he cares about the players.
But it's funny when you hear people like Damien Harris come out and say that he knows Belichick's doing it for all the right reasons.
So you think that's just sports media just being negative like they always are.
I think those were trying to do the shock jocks because the article I was talking about that was very pleasant to Bill Belichick was the Boston Globe.
They never give them anything or any anybody in this area.
All they do is great negative stuff.
You know what I mean? They're they're notorious for just ripping on the New England Patriots.
And, you know, I know you and I get insulted a lot because they call.
They say, you know, it's talking heads, making fun of talking heads.
When we talk media, that is true.
But yeah, no, I think that.
Okay, maybe at times you and I are a little bit to kind of the Patriots.
Maybe a little bit, you know, Homer ish.
I guess you could call it, but at the same time, I mean, the Boston media has just said things about the New England Patriots you and I talked about. Just read the dynasty.
Like Daniel Shaughnessy has been making having bad cold take since the early nineties.
He's worse than any like meteorologist.
You know, They say the weather, man, they get paid to be wrong.
Dan Shaughnessy gets paid to be wrong over and over and over again.
He What did he write like? 456 times? He wrote off the Patriots.
He was like the leading person.
And like a bunch of these sandwiches like the dynasty is dead Tom Brady and Bill Bella checker done.
It was him, like, leading the way in 2014.
I'm really starting to believe that a lot of the patriots hate that came not just from the Boston media, but from the media.
And obviously, the radio stations are a little bit differently.
I don't get them.
I just I'm already I just ordered an Amazon, Alexa, because I can actually pick up Boston stations now, if with the Alexis.
So I'm looking forward to hearing all, Like, I always hear you guys getting mad at all.
You know, Fleischer, and I try not to listen to them, but I e I swear, whenever I get in the cars, that's all people in this area.
Listen to it on the radio all the time.
So I always see people raging on Twitter.
So I really just wanna listen to these guys.
So I'm excited that when my electric comes in and I can actually, you know, listen to it.
Yeah, but I know Alexis the technology, the speaker, guys, you know what I'm talking about making I can already see the sarcastic comments, but no.
Yeah, I think the big thing is is the Boston Globe has been very kind to the Patriots this year and which is unusual.
But if you also noticed, too, that the mainstream media like the Max Kellerman's The Shannon Sharps um, you know, the NFL Network's all the talking heads were always critical of the Patriots.
I think it was less.
Now I'm not talking about fan bases.
Fan bases hate the Patriots.
They mean they hate the pages because the Patriots win and they hate the fans because we're Patriots fans and we get to celebrate victories and they don't.
But I think that there was more hate towards Tom Brady than there was towards the Patriots, because there seems to be a lot of people now who suddenly love Bill Belichick.
Yep, that's exactly what I was gonna ask you.
So do you think people just disliked Tom Brady more than they actually dislike the Patriots? I do.
I think, that there's a thing about winners.
Um, I think that there's I mean, look, I'll go as far as saying I've heard Rob Parker Rob Parker saying nice things about the New England Patriots.
Um, I think that Tom Brady has done and is doing at this.
Still, at this moment, unprecedented things that we haven't seen before.
You know, playing into his late forties, having success in his late forties winning championships, that kind of thing.
So I think that, naturally, people want to hate winners, right? Don't Don't forget, back in 2000 and one when they're playing the Rams and they're 14 point underdogs.
And, you know, they were the feisty little people, everybody.
Yeah, that's very true.
Yeah, the whole nation.
The whole world, almost outside of ST Louis rallied around the Patriots to win that Super Bowl.
All of a sudden, the when it became 23 and then 2000 and seven happens and then 2000 and, you know, 14 15 couple more Super Bowls in between.
It's people started getting a bad taste in their mouth for the Patriots, and this is a group.
And look, think about it.
If you're ah, Buffalo Bills fan, what could you possibly like? Maybe you respect them, but what could you possibly like about the New England Patriots who have kept you down for over 30 years, or the same with the New York Jets of the Miami Dolphins.
And speaking of the Buffalo Bills, they're getting their butts handed to them right now by Tennessee.
And we saw, obviously, on Sunday the Kansas City Chiefs get on a major upset by the Raiders.
Do you think these two teams are starting to look human? Okay, so this was a test game for me before the whole covert thing happened.
I said that there was gonna be three measurements that came for the Buffalo Bills to see if they're real or not gonna be the l A.
Rams, which I think they failed.
I know they won the game, but I think they failed to get a give it a drop.
They handled the Raiders pretty easy.
Yeah, they did, Um, And then I said it was gonna be the Titans, but because I thought the Titans, we're gonna come out flat.
I thought they were going to come out, you know, be off this whole off.
Put of two weeks off.
I said, this game you can't be really uses the measuring stick.
The fact that they're losing Does it have anything to do? Maybe with you know, the shift to go to Tuesday? Well, that should give you more time to prepare.
But who are you preparing for? We didn't know who was gonna be on the covert list.
Or, you know, there was a whole lot of things they didn't know.
Um, I haven't been able to watch the game.
I'll be watching the condensed version tomorrow, but from what I'm hearing from you, they don't look very good at all.
In Tennessee is all over.
The Malcolm Butler had an interception, was almost a pick six.
With that, he did.
He brought them down to the 10 year outline.
Then they scored again.
It's 28 to 10 right now.
I didn't realize it was Malcolm Butler until afterwards, but it was shadows.
Malcolm Butler always like him because of that play in the Super Bowl, but I was more of a bad throw by Josh Allen than it was a great play by him.
So we'll see if he's going to start to come back down to Earth.
So this could come down if they lose this game, which it looks like they might.
But who knows what happens, right? I mean, you've seen crazy things happen in football.
But if they do do lose this game, I think that when it comes down to the end of the season and its playoff seeding or making the playoffs or hell even winning the A F C East, this may be one of those games that they turn around and go.
****, I wish we would have won.
They don't forget.
They've played the Miami Dolphins in the New York Jets, though.
They're two games you have to win.
If you're the Buffalo Bills, you played a Rams team that's 50 50.
I'm not sure if they're pretenders or contenders.
You almost blew that game.
You had one convincing win this year against somewhat competitive team.
That was against the Raiders, and now you're losing to the Tennessee Titans, who are a pretty good team.
I mean, they're three, you know, coming into this season on, there could be a whole lot of reasons.
But you know, the whole thing is you're not losing them.
Are the Buffalo Bills pretenders or contenders? I don't think we know yet.
I'm not willing to write them off.
I think that they're a good team, but it all comes down to Ken, Josh Allen sustainably.
Keep it going now when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs.
I don't expect this to happen forever.
Maybe that Raiders game was the game.
It was that, you know, proverbial kick in the ass that they needed to find because they haven't looked good for three weeks and you just don't.
And Patrick Mahomes doesn't look good for three weeks and the receivers air dropping passes and you don't expect them to be.
You know this bad.
Now Sammy Watkins is out.
So how much is that impact the team? So there's a whole lot of things that we have to take into consideration when you're looking at it.
But if we're looking at teams that I think you're just going through a dry spell, I think that's the Kansas City Chiefs.
When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, they still improving anything to me yet, right? Yeah, I agree with that, because also in the past, we've seen Josh Allen have a couple of games where he just implode.
Sometimes I think it was either last if it wasn't last year was two years ago, where the Patriots just picked him apart.
He had, like four interceptions.
Was that last season? Do you remember it was the season before? I think it was the season before Last year he got hurt when people were trying to call the dirty hit.
That wasn't a dirty hit.
But I think even.
But prior to that, that was like a really low scoring game where neither team could put any points on the board.
But Josh Allen just could not move the football.
And then whoever the backup was came in, and the Patriots won like a very low scoring affair there.
So I want to see what happens because he's come out, lights, lights out.
He's come out on fire.
But again, two of those opponents have been the Jets and the Dolphins.
Obviously, I still believe that the Patriots wanna win the A F C East.
They have to win both games against Buffalo.
Having a four and O start is a good head start for them now.
They still haven't seen the meat of their schedule.
They still have the Kansas City Chiefs next Monday.
They still have to play the San Francisco 40 Niners now, so do.
The Patriots and the Patriots also have to play the Baltimore Ravens.
The Buffalo Bills don't, but they still have to play Seattle.
They haven't played Seattle, so they got some tough games ahead of them.
The Patriots have had a decent schedule.
They've had to play Kansas City.
They've had to play Seattle.
They've had to play.
You know, you kind of think about it.
Losing Cam Newton week for It's almost not that bad of a thing that you lost Cam Newton week for against the Kansas City Chiefs, a game that most people would have picked against you anyways.
It was kind of like, Well, it is what it was.
And I mean, really, a lot of us all thought they were gonna be two and two at that point.
Anyhow, um, I still come back to it and say that I think one day we might look at that Seattle game and go **** if we could have just pulled it off.
It could have changed our season, right? Absolutely.
Because now, with how well the Bills have come out to jump out to the four no start, I think coming down to the A F C East.
It might come down to one game.
One team might be 11 and five, the others 10 and six or 12 and 4, 11 and five So it could end up just being one game.
And that's where it's gonna matter.
It could be the one game where Buffalo loses to send a Tennessee or where the Patriots just barely lost to Seattle.
It's come down to a game of inches.
It's come down to a game of inches, and I hope that that inch doesn't bug us, but or doesn't bite us in the ass.

Shut out W for using a man much appreciation.
Speaking of Twitter, man, I was just saying right before we came on so big news Levy on Bell being cut by the Jets and they're eating.
If I read this correctly, which I think I did, they are eating $15 million in cap space.
Do you think he's that much of a headache? That they just don't care? The New York Jets were the biggest mess in football.
So you had a disgruntled Jamal Adams.
You traded him away.
You ever disgruntled Levian Bell? You release him, you let Robbie walk away.
There's a common denominator here, and I don't think it's the players.
I don't think they've just drafted inside a whole bunch of prima donnas.
I think that the New York Jets have an issue, and it starts with an A, and it ends with a dad.
So I was kind of watching this story.
I knew they were looking for a trade partner.
Do you think that no one offered anything for him.
His salaries too much, right? That was the whole thing.
They were never gonna get that.
They had no leverage going into a trade.
I mean, the best they could have got was the 7th 7th rounder.
But, I mean, who wants to bring on that kind of salary? What could happen now is, though, somebody could go sign lady on Bell and not have to a cure a crew that that same cap space that the New York Jets air crewing and look, l avian Bell came out, criticized the coach publicly like tweets about people you know, talking about the play, calling Adam gays now giving up play calling.
So it's gonna do what's better for the team.
Yet you cut Levian Bell.
The the New York Jets are a mess.
I mean, I think ownership right now is just saying, OK, let's keep Adam in their weaken tank for Trevor Lawrence and start over again, right? So you think at the end of the year they're just gonna accept the fact that they're gonna win to 2 games this year? Tank, get Trevor Lawrence fire Adam Gates in the off season just forget about this season.
Basically, what other option do they have, like, Do they think that they're going to somehow turn this around? I mean, but at the same time, you gotta fix that locker room. You've ruined Sam. Donald.
You took It was probably, you know, one of the better quarterbacks out of that draft, and you ruined him.
Whereas a guy like Josh Allen who needed time to develop, got fostered in Buffalo.
Sean McDermott fostered him and kept him going.
Adam, Gays ruined Sam.
You know, the the quarterback guru that you know, they call him a quarterback grew, but he ruined Ryan Tannehill.
He's just toxic environment of the Jets locker room.
Completely opposite of what we heard in Miami.
We heard in Miami.
He was just a failure of a coach, but the locker room wasn't there.
I also think he's got he's recognizing to that the media in New York is a lot different than the media in Miami.
And yes, you are gonna be scrutinized when your team goes on four.
And you look like trash, right? Right.
Who Who do you think the potential suitor for leaving on Bell.
You think he's gonna land with somebody, right? It's funny that you said that because I knew you were gonna ask me that.
I was trying to think of teams right now.
Um, I don't know.
How long is Dalvin Cook's gonna be out.
Perhaps Minnesota takes a look at him.
People have asked today.
It was in our group chat, and if you saw someone said, You know what about Bell for the Patriots.
And, uh, no, it doesn't matter.
He said he'd be the fifth best running back on the team.
So there's no point to come to the Patriots.
When I'm thinking about contenders, I don't know where he fits.
Could he reunite with Pittsburgh? Maybe.
Could they put some bad blood aside and say, Hey, let's actually go out And, you know, try to win a championship.
Come help this offense.
I know they've got, you know, brown or corner, and they got a couple other guys, but, um, I think that they have an opportunity if you bring in Libyan Bell, Uh, Indianapolis's is had, uh really They're starting running back.
Go out. Could he go to the colds.
Will that disrupt their locker room there? You know, there's a few places that they could go.
Does the teams, like the Kansas City Chiefs, take him at a minimum veteran or veterans minimum and try to give him an opportunity and and keep their run game going and not put everything on? Um, what's the name? The hyphen Name the Applied's Clyde's.
Edward Hilaire. Yeah. Hilaire.
Don't put it on him.
I thought that's what his name was, but I thought it was wrong.
I don't wanna embarrass myself up, you know, a rookie running back.
So I think that, you know, is that a possibility? Well, you know what's ironic? Is he held out? Why was it only two years ago? He took the entire season off and he came back wanting to get paid this big amount of money he got it for Well, he wanted the long term contracts.
Who with the big money.
He got it for only two years now.
And now we're talking about how if he wants to sign with a team, it might have to be as like a veteran minimum.
Do you think this is gonna change the market for running backs it all? Absolutely not.
He set the market for running backs and he said, The president's If you start looking now like what Christian McCaffrey signed for And yeah, you could see Christian McCaffrey's a freak.
But look, then all of a sudden, Camara holds out and Dalvin Cook holds out and they get their money.
And we saw Mawr arm or running back start to get their money, as they held out from or because I don't think that people had the stomach to go through a lot to go through what lay beyond building Ezekiel.
They got paid, and a lot of this all got set up by leaving on Bell.
And I do want to say I know a lot of fans and a lot of people where, um, not too kind to lay beyond because of his holdout.
And that's kind of thing.
And I always say, like, Look, if a team has the option like they just did to cut him and say You are no longer allowed on this team and they call it a best you know business decision for their team or Bill Belichick and guys like Tom Brady walk away over money or let you know trade away Chandler Jones because of money.
And if they could give all their rights to other teams, players have rights to try to get their own money.
They want to get paid, you know, sportscast if I love SportsCastr.
But if another organization came and said, Hey, we'll give you double what SportsCastrs paying you and we go to them and they're like, No, we're not giving you a penny more, You know, that's their business decision.
We may have to make a business decision for ourselves, right? So I think people forget that if the NFL in the owners and the G m's wanna make football of business, you can't get upset when players make it a business.
And if Anderson they're going, it's not a business is a sport, no BS, it's business.
That's why the Patriots play Drink Cove it.
That's why I spend money on jerseys.
That's why you spend money to.
That's why we have jobs on websites, websites, exports.
Castor's exists because of the business of sports right, and one of the things about that is to is when they sign these contracts.
They're not necessarily rial.
I mean, we saw the Patriots signed a bunch of people in the past, like, especially veterans who've got cut.
Even people like Demaryius Thomas.
I mean, they might sign you for one year.
Four million? You don't make it out of training camp.
You know what I mean? So how much money do you get on that one year? Five million.
You get pennies, and then they let you out the door and think about the Marias Thomas to like So they cut him out of training camp.
They say, Hey, don't sign with anybody.
We're gonna bring you back.
And we all kind of expected that when it happened, he gets cut.
He waits like 23 days.
Whatever Re signed with the Patriots, they signed Lavy.
Are they sign Antonio Brown? So they trade away Demaryius Thomas.
So you know, he put good faith into the Patriots and Bill Belichick made a business decision and said, Unfortunately, Demaryius, um, Antonio Brown is a better player.
And as a business decision, we're going to go with Antonio Brown.
And that's why I think what we're seeing now is This guy's like Kirk Cousins who, really, I believe, whether he deserves it or not left money on the table when he just signed his extension with the with Minnesota.
But by signing that extension by taking less money but taking mortgage guaranteed money.
And I think we're going to see a lot more contracts like that, I'll take 23 million less a year.
But I want that and guaranteed dollars.
Ah, guy like Patrick Mahomes doesn't have to do that.
We knew he was going to get paid on.
I still think a good chunk of that money is is guaranteed, but that's what we're seeing running backs now.
Not just They don't just want raises, they want guaranteed money.
And you think about a team like Minnesota.
Look, Dalvin, Cook's out again with a thorn groin.
Or you know where the rip groin.
And here's a guy who wants more money, wants guaranteed money.
Yet I don't think he's ever played a full season in the National Football League, right, and it's tough for running backs because there, you know, they're shell life is like three years in the NFL.
Obviously, a lot of these guys who are really good.
Hang around for a long time, but if you're more of a journeymen or a backup or whatever, you know you're gonna make a much money as you can, because you're not gonna have a long time to do this.
You might only be in the league for 345 years.
And you have to live off of this money feasibly for the rest of your life.
I mean, look, if he's guaranteed $15 million I don't know how you can't live off that the rest of your life unless you have a lifestyle that doesn't allow you to live off that money the rest of your life.
But, you know, again, I'm not gonna get mad because guys make money.
It's, you know, like, you know, people.
It's funny because people get mad at you and I because we get paid to do this on, and we have a guaranteed you know, salary.
And, you know, it's like, Well, dude, like, you know, you could start making YouTube videos and maybe somebody will discover you, you know, like it's that's anything, man.
It's all about you put in the work.
You know what I mean.
And then things things transpire in your favor.
You can't get mad when somebody else has success.
I think a lot of times as fans, we do that.
We get upset a professional athletes because they want more money.
And it's like, Dude, what if I went to your job corner when you're selling cars and saying You shouldn't be getting that commission, you should be getting less commission because you know, there's people out there that work 9 to 5 for minimum wage.
You make that kind of money.
No, you're you're working car sales full time.
That's your job.
That's what you do.
That's the commission you make.
That's the hourly wage you make.
And no one should go in there and and say, You can't make that kind of money.
It's ridiculous that we get upset that professional athletes make the kind of money they do, and they make that kind of money because we watch the sport.
We buy the merchandise, we buy all the passes, buy tickets for the games, you know, So relax and one of these things is that they've started so much longer since before we've even known who they were.
I mean, forget about college going all the way back to when they were like a You know what I mean? They've been grinding in this game and in this profession all through high school, started middle school, started when they were a kid, you know, working out, doing all the right things for years on end before they even make it to the NFL and make all this money.
They've already put in, like, 15 years prior.
Absolutely, no. Absolutely.
And none of us should be running their mouth about what kind of money anybody is making.
I've also seen some.
I've seen some other takes on Twitter recently.
I saw yesterday someone asking if, as a Patriots fan, you know, with the lackluster, I'll call it performance so far to the tight ends, would you trade and essentially rent Zacher? It's for the rest of this year, knowing that next year he's probably gonna walk away and get paid.
That's a tough one, right? It is.
And to me, would all depend what the Philadelphia Eagles want because not hemorrhaging the future over a one year rental.
And you know I think the Patriots already don't have a third round pick this year and or is it a second round they don't have.
They already are already missing a pick for this season because of other trades.
So no, I don't like that move.
I mean, I like that Gert.
So I think he's a great tight end.
I think he has declined a little bit.
He also plays bad in Philly.
Maybe come to the Patriots and it changes things.
Um, I would personally rather the Patriots go after a guy like a Jack Doyle out of Indianapolis.
That's the name that keeps coming up.
I think the Patriots have a little bit more leverage there.
They have a surplus of tight ends in Indy.
Yeah, and they could probably move him. He is starting.
He is a starting caliber tight end.
He basically lost his job because of injury, and I think that he could come to New England and really be that guy that Cam Newton needs.
And look, I get asked about the tight ends all the time, man and and the tight end play has been atrocious this year from the receiving game, absolutely atrocious And is it necessarily Ryan is his fault? No.
Um Devon sc, SC.
I saw, um, key talking about the other day.
Or kite. I mean, you know.
Yeah, you know what, Of course, he can't throw the ball to himself.
He needs a quarterback to throw the ball to himself.
But maybe it's because he can't get open and he's, you know, or he's not allowed routes.
The tight ends have worked well in the run game.
A great blocker when the Patriots were running heavy, he's on the field and he blocks well, but I think they do need I mean, I would take his at Gerdes, but I'm not giving up more than 1/5 round or sixth round pick for him.
Not that I don't think he's worth Mawr, but, yeah, he's gonna get paid next year.
You know, Belichick's probably not going to pay him.
He's starting to age.
Why are we hemorrhaging future draft picks, especially in those sort of mid rounds? 3rd, 4th, 5th, when Bill Belichick does most damage, um, for one year rental.
In a season where there's a lot of good teams in the A F. C.
Right, right I agree, and I really wouldn't want to give up much for him, either.
I think the only good thing out of it was we get somebody who could play right away and would give.
I'll see how do you say his name? Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.
Basically an opportunity to have a redshirt year.
But again, I don't know what the Eagles would want, and I presume that it's not somebody Bill Belichick would pay in the future.
And I think he's gonna go get paid at the end of this year.
Probably not with Philadelphia, either.
I get asked about Dalton Keen, like almost every day.
And I keep giving the same answer and I apologize for I don't know.
I don't know why he's not playing.
I'm not at practice.
You know what? I don't get toe watch.
The Patriots practice.
Um, I can tell you about on field stuff that I see.
You know, I could break down what I see from Aussie Aussie.
I could break down.
What I see from Ryan is Oh, I haven't seen doll thinking Hey, doesn't fit in the Patriots offense.
For whatever reason, whether it's the Patriots wanted to maybe carry more offensive lineman.
I don't ever remember a time the Patriots only carrying two tight ends, you know, keeping one and active when they're healthy.
So it's really, I mean, they've had to when people are injured.
But when they've had three healthy tight ends, they've had three.
We go back through all the years, you know, even even those Let's sort of roll guys like hominum annuity or whatever.
Yes, I remember.
So you know they could contribute.
I don't know why doll thinking doesn't play.
I wish I had answers for you guys.
I don't have answers.

Have you heard about this whole A J.
Green thing? I was just gonna ask you that I was going to say I have to bring it up because I've seen it multiple times.
Now, what do you think about a J.
Green? It it seems like he is on the market, right? They're shopping him.
I heard he was on the market last year.
Yeah, I heard that the whole thing.
I mean, listen, dude.
This year we've heard about Alan Robinson.
We've heard about Odell Beckham Jr.
The Patriots have now been involved in trade for Odell Beckham Jr.
Julio Jones, Right? I've seen that one as well.
And you know what? Do you know this Twitter account? Mo mo? Yes, I dio most something most something where they're notorious for coming up with these takes that don't come to fruition.
I mean, I kind of mock him today and I literally copied and pasted and Adam Schefter thing quote tweeted the Adam Schefter thing and said, Here's my source.
Here's what he has to say, You know, Like it, Dude, Here's what I know what a.
J. Green helped the Patriots. Probably.
Is he the agent green from three years ago? No.
If you think he's gonna come in and give Randy Moss type of things, it's not gonna happen.
But he's not connected with Joe Burrow fine.
He just Tora hamstring could be sorry, guys.
Could be an issue going forward.
So I got new headphones and, like, the court is like 400 ft long.
Uh, but you know what I mean? Um, just tore a hamstring or just got a bit of a hamstring issue.
Just because someone has an opinion that the Patriots should make a move and trade for a J.
Green doesn't mean that Bill Belichick is gonna go out and trade for A J. Green.
I'm so I'm getting so tired of every year we go through this, right? Go through with a J.
Green, help the Patriots? Yes.
Would I be excited? Dude, I'd be on here bragging the moment of how would be texting you.
When can you get away So we can come on here and talk about this? It's a big deal.
Uh, I think it's gonna happen.
Do I think it's gonna happen? Honest to God, I don't.
But I also didn't think that the Patriots are gonna sign Antonio Brown.
So I get surprised sometimes, but just because somebody says it doesn't mean it's true, but I'll throw this to you, man.
I believe that the Patriots need a receiving tight end more than they need a wide receiver.
Let's just Belichick's only gonna make one trade.
He's not gonna make two or three blockbuster trades we're not gonna have.
We're not suddenly gonna have Zach Ertz a J. Green.
And you know, uh, Julio Jones on the team.
He's gonna make one trade.
It's gonna be for lower level guy.
Getting a receiving tight end helps with the run game.
It helps with the past game.
It helps with a whole bunch of other things.
Um, you And And he'll be a receiver.
So I think they need I think they need a receiving tight and way more than they need a wide, like a traditional wide receiver.
I don't have high hopes for a J.
Green coming here.
And even if he did, I think he's past his prime.
Um, if Belichick did go on, get him, like you said, I would be excited.
I think he's got something left in the tank, but he's not like the top of my list.
I also agreement.
I think they need to get a receiving tight end unless Belichick is like holding back on the's working tight ends, and he's just trying to slowly ease them in.
And he has a plan to use them or down the line.
I really think they need to go out and get a pass catching tight end, because right now it's almost like the non existent ITT's no better than it was last year.
It's just the same, if not worse.
I hunted 100% agree with you and and look, we both of us, okay? I'm not taking the heat alone on this man.
Both of us talked about how improved this tight end core was gonna. Yes.
Yeah, I think I said they were gonna be, like, the biggest improvement from last year this year.
I Well, I thought the same thing.
I mean, look, anytime you trade up for guys, right, I assume it so they could make an instant impact on the team.
And and they haven't now.
The Patriots did get a bit of an upgrade this year, in one sense from a different position, though, but it came from last year's draft.
That was Damian Harris.
So maybe Dalton Keen comes out or Ozzie Ozzie comes out next year, and that's when they deliver a draft pick.
Doesn't always have to deliver the year.
You draft them, we just get stuck in the moment.
I was just gonna say that exact thing to you.
Is that do you think Dalton Keane's gonna end up like Damian Harris, who hasn't really done anything until last week? This year, but came out the gate on fire? Yeah, and and look, and we don't even know Let me be honest with people.
We don't even know if Damian Harris can sustain what he did.
Right? So let's not jump the gun here.
Let's not pretend like you know where this is.
Definitely what we're gonna get out of Damian Harris.
He could come out and run 20 times next week and averaged 3.
7 yards per carry.
And he just had a good game against Kansas City.
Who hasn't been that great defending the run, But yeah, could Dalton can be that guy. Absolutely.
He could, um look, we're seeing all of a sudden Juwan Williams who had, you know what, like 10% of the snaps last year.
Suddenly, he's a big part of the defense.
It takes a while for guys to adapt into the NFL were seen as theosophy Right away.
He's not get involved in the in the passing game, but maybe the Patriots, or just slow playing it again.
I think that from a lot of a fan perspective, it's getting caught in the moment of What are you going to do for me now? We need to go to the playoffs this year.
We're now pretty much, I think, you know of Cam Newton stays healthy.
I think we're out of the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes were probably 10 rout of the top 10 sweepstakes.
So now people are like, Well, now it's Super Bowl, right? Like and we're in a season where we don't have Tom Brady.
We lost a whole bunch of key defenders.
We got, you know, one young receiver to aging receivers.
Ah, brand new quarterback to the system.
And I think that a lot of Patriot fans like this is a Super Bowl or bust year for them, and I don't think it is.
I think this is a year to showcase Cam Newton get him resign, get him adapted to the team, Start building the next three years around Cam Newton and starting, you know, in February of 2021.
Okay, that's funny, because I actually saw something on Twitter. I think it was yesterday.
Obviously, everyone saw on Sunday awful injury to Dak.
Good luck to him.
I heard the surgery went well, but in the off season, he's gonna become a free agent.
People were saying, Do you think that patriots would have any interest in trying to sign deck? First of all, they're gonna franchise tag him again.
So get that thought out of your head.
You will be a Dallas cowboy.
That's what I don't know.
That emotional outpour by Jerry Jones was because he loves Dak Prescott.
Um, they'll figure something out they don't want They're not gonna wanna go forward with Dalton Keen.
Um, anybody who believes that an adult or Dak Prescott is gonna be a New England patriots next year.
Just get that thought in your head if you think he's gonna be anything else but a Dallas cowboy, get that thought out here.
There's no when Do you see that happen? in modern day football.
Yeah, almost never.
Nobody lets their franchise quarterback go.
Okay, So the Patriots let Tom Brady go 20 years after they get their franchise quarterback walk away, not their fourth or fifth year.
You know, the last guy was Kirk Cousins and that did not work out for Minnesota, right? Yeah, you're very true.
I think before that, I think it was, uh, Drew Brees.
And what was that? At least 10 years ago? Now? Yes.
That was the whole San Diego thing.
And I was bringing in Philip Rivers, so there was, but yeah, it things weren't working out well for breeze in San Diego.
It was New Orleans where he really ignited his career.
So look, it's I don't think I just I don't see Dak Prescott not being a cowboy.
What I want that Prescott to be the Patriots quarterback, not of Cam Newton is a possibility.
I'd rather we've seen what Cam Newton is to this team.
We see how he clicks, we see the leadership he brings.
Um, I would rather because then we're back to next year bringing a new quarterback in building.
You know, the quarterback around the new system, and that's the way.
And then it's just gonna be, you know, rinse, lather. Repeat.
So you you think as of right now, we should just continue forward, Try and get Cam Newton wrapped up for the next say, 3 to 5 years and, you know, go forward with him while he's still in his prime.
Dude, I would have signed them during this covert stretch right in this break.
I mean, after watching what we saw at a stadium in Hoyer.
Why are you not putting a 3 to 4 year deal on them? And I know that some people are defending Hoyer and I look, you are instead of nobody's defending.
Or, by the way, I'm sorry, can I digress for a second? Happy birthday to Brian Hoyer.
It's his birthday.
Patriots Wish him a happy birthday on Twitter in the mine.
God, the comments were just ****ing me off.
Very hateful, dude.
Like ****ing disgustingly hateful people.
Football is a game game.
Okay? It's a game that we all played for free.
We didn't play for free.
We paid to play football.
We had to pay fees.
I had to pay to play football in high school, you know, to pay for jerseys and this and that.
So **** off with all this hate.
It's the guy's birthday.
And you're like, Oh, I tried to wish me happy birthday, but it went over his head, you know? Come on.
Hey, Also, man, he did.
He did? Well, I mean, obviously not last week.
But prior to that, he was a great backup for Tom Brady.
I know he played the role of the other quarterback and practice quite a few times.
He was Tom Brady's, you know, right hand guy for a number of years.
So he did a good job for us for a long time.
I mean, he came in the other day and obviously imploded.
No one's defending that, but I mean, other than that, he has been a great guy for a long time.
Yeah, and you know, I mean, look, you're from the New England area.
I'm not, But you are.
Um he plans on when he retires of, you know, keeping his family in New England like he loves the New England area.
They're gonna set routes they're falling in love with it.
Uh, you know, we've He's gotten the my number one watched video on YouTube is me explaining how Brian Hoyer decrypted the l A Rams audible calls, right? He sat at home and watched episodes of hard knocks when the Rams were on it during the you know, the Super Bowl prepped week and noticed that they were still in watching film.
Noticed that they were still using the same audible calls and then went and mimic them perfectly in practice.
So he had a big part of the Super Bowl victory in 2018.
So which the guy A happy birthday.
The Kansas City Chiefs game has been over for two weeks.
Now get over it and move on.
Sorry, man, I just really ****ed me off when I saw it this morning.
Twitter's birthday, Brian.
Happy birthday, Brian Hoyer.
Twitter could be a very, uh, sad place.
At times, it's very success pool.
It is a slow process.
It is a cess pool.
I love it at times.
And then sometimes, like this, I just hate it s so sometimes I look, I'll admit, man.
Sometimes I Yeah, well, I think we all dio right exactly.
It's a place toe.
Pour out your feelings.
I guess so, So to speak.
But go alright going into next week.
Obviously, the Patriots have lost their bye week now.
It should have been this week.
Instead, it was last week.
Do you think that that matters whatsoever? Do you think that's a negative? That they had toe play next week instead of this week or whatever it is? Vice versa after they kind of practice kind of in practice.
What do you think? It just is what it is after Denver lost or by week after they practiced all this week? I mean, I think it be a little bit ridiculous to me to complain and say that it's a bad thing.
Look, the guys, This is not a perfect season.
I heard a thing today that the NFL is now talking about the possibility of pushing the Super Bowl back.
I've heard, so I heard about Bubbles for the playoffs.
I've heard you know, a whole bunch of different things.
Roger Goodell came out and said One thing they've learnt this year is that you have to be flexible.
So you know, I mean, I think the players would like a nice, relaxing week where they can leave on Wednesday of the bike because usually what happens, they can leave on Wednesday, the bye week and come back the following Monday.
You know so and that's when you take care of non football stuff.
And that's when you get extra treatment.
And or that's when you don't know.
Go buy a house with your wife or, you know, you know.
And obviously, you know, like Giselle and Tom.
They spent that time to go to Tampa and look at houses down in Tampa, right? Very little did we know at the time that little did we know, but yeah, I mean, it sucks.
But I think with this whole Covitz season, I think players, we're just gonna have to accept some teams.
They're going to get there by week.
Sometimes they're not going to get there by week.
Some teams, they're gonna you know, that the Buffalo Bills, they're gonna play, you know, they're on a short week.
They're playing today.
They play next Monday.
That's technically a short week.
That's like playing on Monday Night football game and having to play on Sunday, and then they're gonna play, and then they're gonna be a short week again.
And it's so it's, you know, and then teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, who should have had two short weeks have gotten to extended weeks because of of of, you know, code cases.
And, you know, the Steelers lost their bye week and thereby week was like Week four and they were supposed to have it.
I think Week nine.
So you know, Ben was thought he got screwed.
But you know what? This is like.
We're living in a pandemic right now, so I think we all just got to accept it.
I think this is basically, like all of our lives have all been like a roller coaster of the past few months, and now it's just coming into the NFL.
Basically, e mean, this is what everyone's doing.
That's exactly what it iss right.
And speaking of the Buffalo bill, So now next week they have to go and play the Chiefs who are coming off of a loss, and they are about to be get finished getting blown out tonight by the Titans.
You think if they get routed by the Chiefs again.
They're gonna have a serious decline in their confidence.
I think they'll definitely be decline in their confidence.
I think that I think that there's gonna be a decline in the Bills.
Mafia is confidence of their teams, you know they are.
They're a feisty bunch, man.
Maybe tonight's game, I don't know, stops to Josh Allen M v P.
Like it's who knows.
I try to tread lightly on the Buffalo Bills because my my boss here over on SportsCastrs, a Buffalo Bills fan.
And he does watch our stuff corner as we've we've learned.
Bills look great.
No, but I talked **** about the bills all the times in, um and I Yeah, I called out.
I called up the SportsCastr social media manager the other day because he did a pool and it was like, You know who should be Super Bowl M V P.
And it was packed homes Russell Wilson, Josh Allen's or somebody else.
And I'm like, So Josh Allen got his own click down, and Aaron Rodgers has to be filed under somebody else, right? Right.
I think right now it should hands down, especially after Sunday night's performance be Russell Wilson.
But Aaron Rodgers has also looked the best.
I've seen him since he came into the league.
He looks phenomenal, too.
I only watched the first half of that Minnesota Vikings game.
Oh, they looked awful and they looked awful.
And all of a sudden I woke up in the morning.
And apparently Russell Wilson looked phenomenal.
In the second half.
They made a miraculous comeback, although the Vikings had a chance to kind of put the game away by going for a field goal.
And they try to go forward on fourth and one and got stuffed.
And then they also I think that they what? They got an interception on that final drive to and then they got called for a holding call or something or pass interference.
Or I mean, if if any team can figure out how to lose a game, it's the Minnesota Vikings.
If any team can have a lead and lose it, it's the Minnesota Vikings.
Eso it seems, man, they just can't close it out.
And I thought, Wow, they're gonna go in here and knock off Seattle and they're going to get another win.
They're going to really get rolling here.
And then Seattle came back and trampled on all their hopes with Russell Wilson.
My father in law's the Vikings fan, okay? And eso were up at the cottage.
They were there and I said, Oh, wow, look at you guys.
And I said, I got tired and went to bed.
My dog was all messed up because of the new environment up in the cottage, which was up three in the morning and all this kind of tired, something bad after the first half, and we get up in the morning and I had already been up for a while and I was watching SportsCenter.
He comes in, the first, just looks and he goes.
Minnesota blew the game last night.
Uh, yeah, they certainly did.
Man, that makes me when I've been watching some of this stuff, the more I realize that the more grateful I am for Bill Belichick, who just almost don't want to say never because no one never makes mistakes.
But he's so on point.
With all this decisions he makes you almost never see the Patriots blow a lead like that.
What do you mean he can't draft? He can't draft, right? You know, the players hate him.
Players hate him.
Um, I don't know.
I've been getting arguments of people this week because, uh, the last time the Cleveland Browns are now four and one.
Last time they were four, and one was when Bill Belichick was the coach and I made a comment like that can't be true because Bill Belichick sucks and people and he could have done anything without Tom Brady, because that's that's the thing, right? Belichick sucks.
Tom Brady was the system, and, um so no so far, I don't know so far, so good man.
So far, Bill Bell Jack looks like he can win games without Tom Brady.
And you know, the Patriots could be easily be.
They could easily be four, and, oh, the same way they could be two and two when you look at how those games went down.
So it's, you know, and I think like this is, I think Belichick, because he's gotta be coach of the year candidate this year.
I mean, I think what he's done with this team after all this roster turnover with a very young team.
The Patriots went from one of the oldest teams in the league to one of the youngest teams in the league.
Which is phenomenal, right? So how long do you think Global? It's explained to keep coaching.
You think he's revamping it again for another go around with Cam Newton? Dude, I don't know.
Maybe he goes with Cam Newton for the three years and calls it a career.
Maybe he's a guy that, like he's gonna have to get sick before he retires, Right? I know before, I think it might have been in the football life for the Bill Belichick.
He said he doesn't want to coach into his seventies.
I don't know if that's change, because I think that in the seventies No, he's not.
He's almost 70 stories, almost 70.
He's in his late sixties, so he's almost 70.
He's already said that maybe he'll reconsider that.
It did he okay? Because I remember him saying that Obviously, that was like 10 years ago now, But I'm like, this is creeping up, man, and I feel was this dad like a frail old man when he got out of football he might have been.
Yeah, his dad might have stuck around for a long time.
His dad was like a scout, too, though more.
I thought that a coach, well, he started.
He was a full back and then a coach and then a scout.
His dad played a year in the NFL.
I never knew that.
Yes, they brought him up, is an equipment manager.
And hey was better.
He was better than their fullback.
So the coach made him.
Made him the fullback.
I e saw that in that.
That Bill Belichick do***entary thing that I think it was like a real life waterboy.
Then I guess, Yeah, Waas.
Maybe that's maybe Bobby Boucher was based off Mr Belichick.
That would kind of make sense, right? How beautiful would that be? Where did you get inspired for Bobby Boucher? The ballistics.
Who else would take The Waterboy position that seriously on a ballistic? Right? Um, I guess we should give a little shadow to Joe Morgan, who passed away this week.
The football show.
But Hall of Famer, two time Super Bowl change or two time World Series champion two time.
Three Time M v p I believe 10 time All star.
Just a hell of a guy Great broadcast there passed away and I just want to give a big shout out to him N e shut up through there, Carter.
Great comeback was crazy.
Awesome that he came back and played.
Sorry it had to be against Aaron Donald's because the Washington football team did absolutely nothing to protect him, but good to see him back and healthy.
All right, I got a couple of quick fire questions for you before we call it a day.
Can the Cleveland Browns sustain what they're doing right now? No, I think that I think they're going to continue to be pretty good, but I think they're gonna finish up the season like 10 and 69 and seven.
Have you been impressed with Joe Burrow so far? Yes, I have.
I think Joe Burrow says, looks pretty good.
Obviously, Baltimore kind of beat him up the other day, but Baltimore is also a great defense, and I think he was bound to come back down to digress a little bit, but I still think he's gonna have a really good career.
Houston Texans got their first win of the year without Bill O'Brien.
Do you see them making mounting any sort of come back in that division or do you think their season is over? I think they're gonna mount some. Whatever. Come back.
