I'm Matt Williamson, with yard barker here to talk about the Bears trip to Carolina to play the Panthers.
Both these teams are really exceeding expectations, and the playoffs are not out of the question for either club, but especially for the four and one Bears.
Still, Chicago in these five games have only outscored their opponents by five points and really have some of the league's worst overall quarterback play.
But yet, therefore, one Nick Foles, of course, will start again.
But he is extremely streaky, so that last week started really slow and it really strong.
Only six offenses are averaging less yardage for play than Chicago.
The Bears have faced back to back strong run defenses, but the Panthers defense is a very favorable matchup for running backs, and this backfield now entirely belongs to David Montgomery.
Expect Montgomery to get a ton of touches in Carolina, and Chicago is clearly number one.
Receiver Alan Robinson also should get Pepper with targets and against a very suspect Panthers secondary.
This this defense is a work in progress, or Carolina, even with the Christian McCaffrey out of line up, the Panthers offense has been quite good this year, though extremely well designed in Teddy Bridgewater playing at a pretty high level D.
Moore and Robby Anderson, or an excellent pair of receivers with a little bit of Curtis Samuel sprinkled in while make Mike Davis has held up McCaffrey's role surprisingly well.
Chicago's defense will be what will really present a challenge for the Panthers, though without question, especially at the line of scrimmage.
Getting the Bears front seven will blocked up for Davis and to take shots downfield to be really problematic for Carolina.
It should also be noted that Chicago has been really poor on special teams, is here.
Maybe that factors in what could be a close game.
I really like how the plant that Panthers air playing and frankly, I don't believe in Chicago does a contender.
But I think the Bears, on the strength of their defensive front, get the win on the road.
Chicago Thanks so much.
