he shows your boy you were there any stars to the dining podcast trying to get this thing going here? Man, you know, it's kind of late, but you know how we do, man doing the podcast said what, 10 o'clock now and then I had to get my thoughts out.
We're gonna be talking about a clutch point article that references um, LeBron James and the whole Lakers thing sacrifice and most of the nonsense, man.
So without further ado, let's just get into it, man.
So once again, it's your boy Ruta and any star hosted Dynex podcast.
We're gonna be talking about the Lakers and LeBron man.
So, you know, the elephant in the room is like everyone seems, seems Thio, you know, they just put a little bit too much emphasis on on on LeBron and just just just just his legacy.
You know, you always want to talk about Jordan and said the other, but I mean, you gotta you gotta let the guy, um, breathe, man, he's like the best player of this era he's been playing for, you know, since, like, 03 you know, I'm saying so.
He's been playing for 17 years in the NBA.
Um, what? What more can you say? You know, um, he goes on on stage, and he's like, Oh, he's still the man and his respect in this or any other everyone's mesmerized in this whole, um, uh, Internet age, social media age.
Everybody's looking for record connection, even if you're the greatest player of the modern era.
Like I just said, you're still looking for gratification.
You're looking for for people, toe.
Somebody loved me.
Somebody like me, you know, And I just think the whole thing just kind of takes everything.
You know, when people talk about LeBron, people get so mad and then they automatically go to Jordan like, Oh, yeah, but you know, the Jordan on played with pipping and stuff like that.
But, you know, you forget Thio to explain that that LeBron James never one without ah star, you need stars Tau women.
The best team wins in the in the n b.
Not one player ever, ever has led Ah team, uh, to the championship by themselves.
You know what I'm saying? You even if even if you think ah, certain team didn't have talent or something like that when you look back at it.
Um, um, Charles Barkley is probably the team that I could remember, but they didn't win, But, I mean, Charles Barkley led a bunch of bums to the to the NBA Finals.
You know, he had Dan Marley with who was a bum.
People like to talk about him like he was such a great player.
He was just a mediocre player.
Never averaged more than, um, 17 points a game.
Uh, you know, he shot the three.
You know, they call him Thunder Dan, and they do have a vertical a leap of, like, like, 10 10 inches off the ground.
You know, pause.
But, you know, they didn't really have a great team that, you know, that's probably why they why they lost whatever.
But, I mean, you can just go down thio any any team like Huma Lodge one. He had Kenny Smith.
Kenny Smith was a shell of himself, but Kenny Smith used to be a 20 point game score, you know, go down the line, Otis.
Um, Otis Thorpe.
You know, he used to be a 20 point game score as well.
Uh, Sam Cassell went on to become one of, um, like, uh, perennial, not not necessarily an All Star.
But he became like, uh, all star caliber point guard, um, leading countless teams to the playoffs and stuff like that.
He had a long career as well.
So you could just go down the line to two different players that throughout throughout the history, um, you don't win by yourself, man.
You always you win with a with A with a team.
And you know, LeBron made actually made it to the finest with that Cleveland team. But you go down the line.
I'm just going off the top of head.
He had, you know, Big Z was on the team because he was a 20 point game score.
You got, um, Donny Marshall and Donyell Marshall.
These guys, they're not not bums.
You know, some of these guys, one college championships, whatever the Philips stat sheets, if you play fantasy basketball stuff like that, you know, certain certain these guys are aren't aren't scrubs, you know, will be Gibson, you know, was, um was like, probably like, his best sub.
But he also had some other guys, like we used to do that.
That that they had used to be on used to be on the Knicks.
Um, like I said, I can't think of his name, you know? So he probably wasn't that good anyway.
But Larry who? Excuse me? Larry used as well.
Um, he had a bunch of different players on these teams gone coming up, you know? But he didn't win until he got himself a star as well.
He didn't win in Miami.
Um, not without Dwyane Wade.
Everybody had won the championship without him.
You wanna talk about Chris Bosh? Chris Bosh gets a bad rap, but the dude was averaging 25 12 before he got to Miami, you know? So there's no question that the dude could have been doing that without him, because that's what happened as soon as everybody left him by himself in Miami.
That's exactly what he did.
He went back to his old ways of scoring points and getting his rebounds like he was getting before because he was.
Now he's the focal point, so I mean, you know, you can't you can't, um, trash or you just You just got to tell the whole story.
That's the whole thing, man.
Like every everyone wants to tell their own story, but they never tell the whole story.
What's this guy, Michael? Kyle heard, um, he was talking about, you know, Jordan had Pippen, but But LeBron had nobody and that that's inaccurate.
You know, I just explained the whole Miami situation.
They didn't win, you know, against Dirk.
Derek was basically by himself.
He had Jason Terry, you know, that's another thing.
Jason Terry is not a slouch either.
So I mean, you know, he did play with it with a bunch of a bunch of good players in Dallas, and they beat Miami and then Miami one, too, because they had to go and get Ray Allen, which is another guy who is a perennial 20 point game scorer in his career.
Of course, he was winding down, but he just won with Boston, you know? So he's a champion, you know, like I said, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bars.
They even go to Cleveland.
When he went back to Cleveland toe to finish his business over there, he, um he couldn't win without Kyrie.
Irving Kyrie Irving was the ultimate Batman.
Give me ultimate Robin to Batman you know, he was a finisher.
He helped him clinch a game all by himself, Basically, in one of the one of those games.
Uh, Kevin, love is not a stops either.
He also was another guy that was, like, 25 12 and when he was with Minnesota.
So I mean, these guys weren't bums, you know? So to just to mention, um, Scottie Pippen, you know, just because he's like one of the 50 of greatest players, whatever, This doesn't mean that that these guys are slouches either.
Carby Urban is probably one of the better guards in the NBA.
Uh, like I said, Kevin Love is probably one of the better power forwards in the NBA.
You know, he would definitely if he would have stayed in Minnesota and continue being featured.
You would be talking about him numbers wise of being one of the better power for us to ever play.
You know, that's that's only truth right there.
And, you know, his numbers went down.
Of course, when I went to Cleveland, because now you're in the team concept, you know, I'm saying guys are not gonna get 25 12 playing with for LeBron are playing with Curry all at the same time, you know? So guys got to sacrifice their own minutes in order to win the championship.
That's what happened when he when he went to Cleveland.
Now, you know, fast forward to two.
The Lakers, they didn't win his first year.
What happened? They had a bunch of young guys on the team.
Uh, people were fighting LeBron because LeBron is, um is very focused on winning and stuff like that.
It wasn't working Every time something doesn't work.
LeBron all of a sudden gets a phantom injury.
And, um, you know, he just kind of risks like like most of the season.
So that's what basically, what happened.
He didn't wanna get himself hurt.
So he spent the on the some of the season to get himself little nagging injuries to get on to get healthy.
Eso You know what they do in the off season and went and got Anthony Davis the next year, and that's basically it.
They didn't really add too much other, um, anything else from, you know, for the bench, Whatever.
Cause they had Rondell three year before they had you know, they went and got J.
Smith and then a couple other guys, too.
But, I mean, they didn't really change too much of what they had to get before.
Only thing they really added was Anthony Davis, you know? So, like you can't win in in the N b A without a star, you know? So LeBron James didn't take the Lakers by himself.
Anthony Davis is, um, this generation's best power forward.
Um, you know, if you want to say that, so I mean, you know, you got to give credit where credit is due.
Yes. LeBron is great.
You can't take nothing away from it, man.
But nobody wins alone in this league.
And like I said, you can You can pretend like, um, like Anthony Davis is not there. 25.
25 in nine kind of player blocks, um, handles the ball, Does everything shoots the three, you know, And this is this is, um, um LeBron James Number two.
The best player in the N B A.
Which is LeBron and a d.
It's kind of hard to stop.
And then also you wanna talk about competition? Um, Miami.
You know from further for the great run that they had, Um they ran out of steam.
They ended up getting hurt.
Uh, you know, Miami didn't make it there without on Dragic.
You know, Dragic was on was the driving force, and he ended up getting hurt.
So there you go right there and then Bam, bam is another driving force in their team.
Two of their best players get hurt at the wrong time.
And, um, you know, it just stopped the momentum not saying that they would have won if if if they were there, they probably would have lost, but just the competition wise, you know that they're not playing the same strong team that was playing well throughout the playoffs and stuff there.
There there are wounded team, and they just didn't make it to the end, um, to face, uh, the, you know, the favorite to win the championship from the beginning of the year on LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the Lakers.
So that that's just that's just cool, man.
So, anyway, this is fast forward to 22 I want to talk about here.
This is clutch points articles.
Let me just put it up here.
It's a clutch points article.
They're talking about LeBron James and the bubble, and this is comments that he would make that he was making, uh, you know, when they asked him.
All right, so you guys could see it there, so I'll just scroll down a little bit just so you could see the meat of what he was saying.
Uh, here he goes.
He's just talking about that.
Uh, I think I'm gonna be human.
If I didn't help his ups and downs with the bubble at times, he questioned himself.
Should he be? There is.
We're sacrificing his family.
So many things I've never been What? I'm a family this long, missing days, like, you know, kindergarten with his daughter.
I'm just gonna paraphrase now 16 year old birthday, his middle child doing his thing.
And then he goes on to mention Steve Jobs when the whole, um you know, facetime thing the first time is important in this generation now, So absolutely ups and downs throughout this journey.
For some odd reason, I was able to keep keep on the main thing and keep the main thing the main thing, which is basketball.
Uh, when when he talked about that stuff that that he missed.
And they understood that, too, and they made a lot easier for him.
So I mean, you know me personally, you know? So I know that's nice.
You know, the, you know, LeBron got his family, and, you know, it is hard, you know, he's a professional basketball player.
He has to be in a bubble.
Um, no contact with his family.
He can't really bring his family with him.
Everybody's doing their thing and stuff like that.
And he has to make the decision to, um, to stay in the bubble to to get, uh, you know, his championship.
Which which he probably thinks What, um, you know, take him to the next stuff.
He's already there.
He's already on the gold of this era, you know, But, I mean, you know, of course you want the extra championship to solidify that.
Think so? I mean, I'm quite sure he was driven by that.
That's why he was there.
There was also comments, too, about the whole social media.
So I'm assuming social stuff that was happening, You know, of course.
Um, the Briana Taylor.
Uh, you know, verdict.
You know everything.
You know, I'm not gonna not gonna turn into into into, like, a whole social thing.
But But when? When the MBA at basically, what do you want to call it is not a strike.
You know, whatever word you want to say, they had a work stoppage or whatever.
Just toe give light Thio the situation.
He thought about not coming back, you know, just leaving the bubble.
Everybody was thinking about that.
The Bucks was the first team to walk off and you just go down the line.
Everybody was was thinking about not coming back.
Let's just let's just let's just be done with it And, you know, stop them because it's really a madness.
Just this covert stuff, like nobody's working, you know, the n b A guys, they got everybody in the bubble, everything.
It's not just the NBA players, the staff all around.
They all devoted their their their lives for this little bubble here that they were doing so I mean, he thought about it.
He went on to say that he had a call with, um uh Chris Paul and I'm Barack Obama and Barack Obama uh, you know, put something in his head to make him, you know, think about the bigger picture or whatever Thio motivate you know, the society around him, You know what I mean? It's all a great thing, man.
But, you know, when they talk about sacrifice and stuff like that, you know, you know, like I said, I get it, I get it.
You know, n b A players in human, You know what I'm saying? But they always want you to look it from their perspective, but they have no perspective off our our perspective as just regular people on this earth, um, living, you know, I'm saying they don't.
They never had, like, a job 9 to 5 job.
They never had to work, work somewhere.
And then they have to come home and take care of their kids or whatever they don't have to deal with with that in the in the way that we deal with the day to day now, like this, I have I have this podcast.
Well, this is not the only thing that I do that I do in life.
I have ah day job.
So my my day job, I work a lot of hours to take care of my personal family.
So I mean, like, you're in a bubble.
You haven't seen your your kids and so so long in this long.
But just working the nine.
The 9 to 5 if you're the breadwinner of your family.
You know, I know a lot of people can kind of identify with this.
You spend a lot of time in working, you don't see your kids.
You know, I'm saying sometimes you wake up, the kids are sleeping, you come home, the kids are sleeping.
So you don't see your kids anyway, for like, for like, days on on and on.
And then your days off you're exhausted from working so many hours throughout the week that you don't even want Thio to do anything.
You know, even though your kids are like, Oh, I'm gonna go outside, Dad or a a Dad, Can you come to my my football game? You have to muster the energy because you don't have it, you know, because of the lifestyle that that that you live.
Then you also you have your own, um, things that you wanna dio you wanna try to stay in shape.
You wanna watch your favorite TV shows or something you wanna have? You wanna enjoy some part of your life or whatever? So I mean, this is also, like, uh, something that dismissing from from, like, sports people, people that that are, uh that are that are in the mix of whatever they you know, they're just so entrapped in their own world.
And then there's they're always vocal.
All of them talk about it, All of them talk about how it was so hard or whatever, how we don't get them.
And they think they think that that we think that they're not human, but they think that we're not human, you know, And I just think that it's not fair for them to just going on those rants.
And no one else, um, could, um, could give them the insight or what it is to be just a regular person walking this earth cove it for, for for for Christ sake.
These guys were pampered in the bubble.
They got anything and anything that they wanted.
You know, I'm gonna say Jimmy Butler was the one that said that he left a nice tip or whatever.
Whoever Whoever said that they they said they were.
They left great tips for them, for the workers because they devoted ah, lot of time to them.
Gave them, you know, gave them all kind of hospitality and stuff like that.
So they were living comfortable in the in the bubble, plus the rich.
What I'm saying so their families are not starving at home.
You know, they they're living well, you know what I'm saying? So Hey, Dad, what's going on? I talk to you on Zoom.
Let me go back to my, you know, being being, like, doing what I was doing that they're good, you know? They're They're they're They're not nine times out of 10.
Their parents are there.
They have staff, you know, nannies and baby sitters and drivers and all kind of stuff.
So they're comfortable, man.
It's not the same thing as people like us, because, like somebody like me, I'm still working.
I've worked throughout the whole cove.
It, you know, And, you know, I know a lot of people that haven't been working.
You know, some people, some people have the luxury of working at working from home.
But not everybody has that luxury.
They have service jobs where they just sitting on furlough.
You know, they just cut, not not necessarily got laid off.
A lot of people did get laid off, but some people are just sitting on furlough because they happen to be in high risk areas.
Right now, New York City is doing, like, a color cold kind of thing.
And right now, a lot of people are in orange in certain areas, orange and red.
If you're in red, they're closing down businesses again.
You know, as if as if this is the height of covert again.
So this is this is kind of crazy.
Yeah, People were working, and now they aren't, you know, so it's just, um just bugged out.
Let me let me remove this here because we've got some ads on that that page there.
So I mean, you know, it's it's just some disconnect.
You know what I'm saying? Like this, This, um, you know, then you forget about schooling to There's a lot of people that are that are having to deal with home schooling, remote schooling and stuff like that So how could you? How could you work and make a living if your kid is at home and they have to be in school, you know, is one thing if your kid is older, But what happens if your kid is like between kindergarten and second grade, where you can't leave them home by themselves, So you have to be there.
So what do you tell your your employer? How do you get money? You know, how do you get money? So, I mean, you know, this Is this a dynamic that that, you know, this is missing, you know, is missing in this whole conversation, you know, social social stuff aside, you know, MBA stuff aside, this a day to day thing that goes on with just people in general, you know, I'm saying so that's the story that that on, that probably needs to be told more because there's a lot of people suffering out there, man.
You know, you know, I just my heart goes out to the people that aren't working, man, that that I don't know how you guys doing it, and I don't know how it's gonna work during this winter because a school as it gets.
Nobody's gonna wanna go outside, especially if there's no transportation at night.
And, you know, and you're not getting any money.
So So, you know, for all these months since March, So I mean, it's just crazy, man.
So I'm That's a well, since we're here, let me let me look.
A SportsCastr, uh, just shout out to whoever is here.
We've got somebody named Tammy and y 32.
They tipped me with 50 tickets.
Thank you very much.
We got bashing Brian bashing.
Brian started following me.
We got Kobe beef 200.
And you know, that's what's going on on on SportsCastr? Uh, yeah, man.
So let's, uh let's just continue talking about this.
This whole thing, man.
Uh, you know, the funny story with the whole LeBron thing? Is that his son, uh, you know, you're 16? Just had 1/16 birthday, So hey was celebrating, I guess.
And they got video of him smoking weed and stuff or whatever.
Just doing stuff for kids.
Do you know, I catch catch my own.
Is this about the same age is on LeBron, Aziz, Ronnie, whatever.
And, um you know, I I see him doing all kind of stuff, especially online or whatever.
Maybe he might not.
Maybe he might know or not know.
But, I mean, you know, what can you do, man? So it's like a It's like a funny thing going out there that that now that that the bubbles over, he gets to go home, that he's about to get his ass with whatever.
So you know that that's all funny, man.
But, I mean, you gotta let it could be a kid.
You know, I have my in my opinion on it, but, I mean, you gotta You gotta let a kid be a kid, man.
So, you know, there's there's a lot of things to men like Like that, Like the MBA Theo MBA has, um, has on personnel, like like service workers and stuff like that.
They're working the arenas and stuff like that.
Um, in the beginning, they weren't getting paid.
But then now I'm like, whatever ownership and stuff like that started giving them their paycheck or whatever MBA players were paying some of their salary.
Or, you know, like a guy like Mark Cuban is still paying his workers and whatever.
Even though they're not, they're not.
I haven't been working since March, you know that, that's all.
That's all the great thing, man.
But, I mean, how long can that can at the whole situation? Um, continue.
You know, the guys got to get back to work, man.
So that that that was my main gripe about this whole bubble thing is that, you know, they should have just ended the season.
In my opinion, you know, I know it's great to see LeBron when its fourth championship and then the bubble was great.
It was a lot of group of good basketball, even though I don't really watch as much a Zai would if the Knicks were playing, you know, because I'm a Knicks fan, I'm not not I don't really care about the other teams, but what? I didn't get a chance to watch a lot of games, you know, during this, But when it was exciting because these guys were, they were ready to play.
They were playing hard, and I'm just your hats off to the man.
But, you know, hindsight now, man, I wish they would have just ended it because you know you're inconveniencing a lot of people.
Not just, you know, you wanna talk about revenue and stuff like that because that's that's the name of the game.
Uh, if they don't play, they don't finish the season that messes up contracts and stuff with TV and stuff like that.
But I mean, at the same time right now is is October.
We should be starting the next season right now.
So if you if you would just just end of the season and just call it a wash No champion and it just go through now.
Did the draft virtually the way the MBA, the W MBA did it the way the NFL did it, you know, do a virtual draft and then whatever.
And then by and they could have did, um, instead of doing, uh, bubble lead, they could've did a bubble, um, summer league.
You know what with the rookies at the rookies play.
And then by now you know the all season would have went through whatever.
By now, we'll be starting season two.
That's the way it should have went down.
You know, to me, that would have been the most responsible thing to do.
Because now, now you're just inconvenience in so many people.
You know, Like I said, service workers, you know, day to day to day to day people.
Just the infrastructure around the teams in in each city, you know, everything is affected in that way.
Check out if you live.
If you live in New York City, take a walk through Penn Station on the on the two and three train if you get a chance, man, this homeless people all over the place because normally it would be bustling through there because of all the heavy traffic.
But now there's there's no traffic.
Homeless people are just straight up glamping in Penn Station right now.
So it's It's all a big residual thing, man.
So right now, in October, we should We should be talking basketball, not crowning the N B A champion.
So me personally, all this **** is over.
You know what I'm saying? Off season starts now for me, and I wanna I wanna talk about the draft and all and all sort of stuff, man.
So, you know, I don't I don't I don't wanna be talking about LeBron and and all this other stuff.
It's time to start the next season.
You know, speaking of money and stuff like that, the cities are all taking their their their little, uh, you know, bite out everybody's wallet.
Now that that everything seems to be kind of kind of quiet or whatever.
Um, tickets are going up.
You wanna talk about speed cameras on? All this stuff is up in New York City.
Uh, even, um, the m t a fair for the for the training that they were talking about.
That going up 2 to 3 50 is I believe it's 2 75.
Could you imagine 3.
50? You know, it's a lot of crazy stuff going on, and so, like, that's what I'm saying.
Like like maybe maybe if things would have, um, like they would they would have took the pause, you know, just cut the season off like that.
Maybe maybe that would that would have been a trickle down effect.
Where it would have been everybody would have, would have just held tight and just start the whole process for for now, you know, because I'm it's just it's just too much, man.
Three to too much going back and forth and too much anxiety as far as like making deadline and stuff like that.
So now we're talking about, uh, the end of October.
I believe the draft is gonna be Or maybe in November they keep changing the date, and then they want to talk about the off season going to start December 1st.
I mean, so after all season starts different December 1st, it's gonna have toe last, uh, least a month.
And then you're talking about Christmas and New Year's and all this other stuff too.
So you can't start the season before Christmas.
You can't started during Christmas.
You can't start it before New Year's.
So now you want to talk about the started in the next season is gonna definitely being in either in January February, And my my thoughts has always been is going to start in February.
So this is all a mess, man, you know? So you know, shout out to to everybody's checking in, man.
I know it's I know it's late, but I think that's what's gonna be for the for the dynamics podcast, man.
When I when I do these podcast live is gonna be during this time here.
So, um yeah, man, I just want to get up here and talk about, you know, the whole the Lakers championship, LeBron James and the whole bubble thing.
And just really wanted Thio speak to the people about about some real stuff, because I know we're all going through it, you know, school was on hold.
A lot of different things won't hold, man.
So I just hope that now that the October's here, uh, you know, we can have some normalcy.
Um, in this life, man, I know, I know.
It's getting crazy a lot.
A lot of people are experiencing, um, this this hardships and then people have nothing to do.
So I see a lot of young young kids walking, you know, Roman through the trains and just walking the streets and, you know, in groups nothing to do.
So you know, when kids don't have nothing to do, they tend Thio to get themselves in trouble.
It's not just kids.
There's older people to There's a lot of old people that's doing a lot of crazy stuff to in Queens, thereby here they have, like like, uh, I guess you want to say a party and And I believe this.
I believe it was in Forest Park or something like that where, like, the police had to come.
And the organizer guy got arrested and fined and all kind of stuff.
It's crazy, man.
So, I mean, if we would have just took everything serious to shut everything down at at one point when they needed to be shut down instead of like, just this whole bubble thing.
Everything has been in a bubble.
This whole time, everything was just shut down and then, you know, let let everything get right and then just started back up, you know, like maybe like now, you know, let everything start coming back, like like like now maybe everyone would wouldn't be so crazy right now.
Anyway, this maybe you would have any star thank you guys for tuning in and I catch you in the next one, man, as you do on the podcast.
I put four fingers to my forehead, took in the thumb salute, and I just catch you guys on the next one.
You grew out and peace
