00:00:37
This is, of course, a SportsCastr official VOD cast.
00:00:41
I am joined by my guest, Justin.
00:00:43
Rohan, how are you doing? How are things up there? You know what? It's not too bad we had our first snow of the year.
00:00:49
It's kind of melted away.
00:00:51
Eso I'm hoping that it holds off for a little bit longer, but I'm doing well.
00:00:55
Apparently the n B A is possibly coming back before Christmas.
00:00:59
That is great.
00:01:00
A za fan of one of the unf fortunate teams that was left out of all the fun bubble action.
00:01:06
It's been the longest offseason I hope that will ever happen, and I'm very, very excited to for it to end here in the near future.
00:01:14
Dude, I gotta like, we gotta talk before even get into, like, previewing the Cavs.
00:01:19
I like the hasn't fully hit me how aggressive this is gonna be.
00:01:25
I forgot who who kind of laid it out, But it's like they have the draft on the 18th, and then it's like free agency.
00:01:33
You have your team and then you immediately report to camp, and then it's like the season starts.
00:01:37
It's really crazy.
00:01:38
And I don't even know how it's gonna work or the logistics, but it seems like it's gonna happen like, Yeah, I just like I'm not mentally prepare.
00:01:46
I think the n B A is very grateful that this is just an absolutely terrible free agency class.
00:01:52
So it's not like there's gonna be a spectacle of that.
00:01:56
I would imagine that once they get the Ciba portions of this kind of wrapped up that they're gonna open the trade window very quickly.
00:02:03
I mean, honestly, this might be even a year where you could experiment with free agency before the draft.
00:02:09
I don't think they're going to do that, but it would be a great time to do something like that.
00:02:14
um because I think there's one big more activity in the trade market than there is in free agency just because of how bear in this class is and just how little flexibility there is out there.
00:02:25
Um, but yeah, this is, Ah, crazy quick turnaround time.
00:02:29
Even though I don't think the collective fatigue that the players have, even those that went long.
00:02:34
It's not like they had a full regular season playoffs and then they're starting.
00:02:37
They had a really long layoff before the bubble.
00:02:40
And then there's other teams, like the warriors of the team that I cover.
00:02:43
I guess even your team that are like looking at this is like we haven't played in such a long time.
00:02:47
Like if we wait any longer, I don't know how, like, think that you have, like, eight months of trying to stay and shape.
00:02:52
You can obviously take more months than that, but I don't know.
00:02:54
It's like I get why they did it.
00:02:56
The tweet that came out after about how much money they were gonna make was kind of like that.
00:03:01
Sealed the deal.
00:03:02
I'm like, Okay, I'm definitely gonna need to take like, a little three day vacation or something like that before this happens.
00:03:08
Like we got to get this, we gotta make this happen.
00:03:11
So yeah, it's exciting, though, And I think for you and and the team that you cover, um, we have to start at the draft.
00:03:20
So what are you looking at? Are you drafting by need or you drafting just for whatever? Are you bringing another point guard like, What's What's the move you're doing? Eso There is basically no scenario where the cows are going to take another point guard, at least if they're staying at five.
00:03:37
The only one in this draft that they would have considered is ball, which I wouldn't have agreed with that decision making, I think I think they wanted tohave the topic just for even trade down possibilities.
00:03:48
Um, but what happened with Collin ***ton? Andi? The draft last year was they kind of made the decision that Utah made with Donovan Mitchell, where they said, even though this guy 61 with the big wingspan, you need to have a point guard with him.
00:04:02
This isn't a guy that's going to initiate all the offense.
00:04:04
So they brought in Darius Garland to kinda be that Mike Conley type. Yep.
00:04:08
Um, but the Cavs do approach every draft, taking best player available.
00:04:12
Um, that that is still how they're going to approach this draft.
00:04:15
They are giving consideration to need, um, need and fit and ability to develop guys is going to be the tiebreaker, but they're really looking at this as, uh, the slate.
00:04:26
It's fairly clean.
00:04:27
Uh, if you want to move guys around, you have kind of the flexibility to do so.
00:04:32
We're not gonna let Kevin Love or Andre Drummond stop us from taking a big man.
00:04:36
Eso I do think that they're going to approach this from, ah, best player available standpoint.
00:04:41
Who are you picking? If you're in the driver's seat? Oh, my God.
00:04:45
Well, if I'm in the driver's seat, I'm taking Okan wou I actually do believe that he is the best player in this draft.
00:04:51
I don't think anybody in this draft has riel kind of franchise cornerstone offensive upside.
00:04:56
So a guy like oh, Congo that might be able to defend multiple positions knows what his strengths are in sticks to them.
00:05:03
I think people really underrate that gives consistent effort big work ethic like, I don't think he has the same kind of playmaking his bam has in Miami, but kind of his ability to move around knowing what to do.
00:05:18
I really do think that he could be a high impact defensive player, and, um, probably one of the safest bets going into this draft.
00:05:25
Who's your Who's your one of your if you're taking a swing? Because if you're not going to say, Who's your swing? Your crazy upside guy? So you're crazy upside guy.
00:05:35
I guess you're hoping that Wiseman falls to the Cavs of five.
00:05:38
I think if Wiseman falls to the Cats are five.
00:05:41
They're 100% taking them do, like book that put all your life savings on it.
00:05:46
They're going to take Wiseman if he's there at five.
00:05:49
They really, really do believe in him.
00:05:51
Another guy that I know that the cats are very high on his Isaka coral, Um, currently, like, really perfect to be a great defensive player, even though his outside shot wasn't consistent, Uh, this was a guy that still scored efficiently.
00:06:06
He's still able to blow guys without the threat of an outside shot, and the Cavs have a lot of confidence in their ability to develop jumpers.
00:06:14
Collin ***ton wasn't able to shoot in college and through his first two years in the n b. A.
00:06:21
He's one of the better three point shooters that you've seen for a guy in his first two seasons.
00:06:25
So interesting did not see that coming.
00:06:27
I have to tell you, I mean, part of why I hated the pick was, I think in the modern MBA you can't have a point guard that can't shoot.
00:06:35
And ***ton proved me wrong pretty quickly because he has that kind of work ethic.
00:06:40
Jedi Osmond added.
00:06:41
An outside shot Larry Nance Jr has an in an outside shot.
00:06:45
Um, they do just a really, really good job.
00:06:48
Kim Porter Jr that they've cleaned up his form to the point where it's effective.
00:06:52
So I think what they see with a Coral Onda reasoning to take him is we can really kind of clean up that outside shot mechanics aren't that bad.
00:07:01
Maybe we have a Jalen Brown type of guy in this draft.
00:07:04
I don't think he's ah Brown level type of prospect, but he's someone that fits within that mold.
00:07:10
Interesting um, any other guys you're looking at before we move on to some, I feel like you guys are suddenly kind of interesting.
00:07:19
You have a couple of pieces, but any other draft guys, You know what? I'm happy to say that I think next year is actually going to be a fun but bad season for the Cats because because they rely so much on young players to initiate their offense.
00:07:34
Like the best players on this roster are big names and big men are reliant on those perimeter guys to get them ball.
00:07:40
And when you're talking about 19 and 20 year olds and Garland *** income for Junior, um, there's gonna be growing pains there.
00:07:47
Um, the other guy in the draft that I am starting to kind of come to terms with this will be topping.
00:07:53
The Cavs are flirting with him.
00:07:55
I don't know if it's a smoke screen.
00:07:57
We are now entering that period of time where you don't know what's happening.
00:08:01
Oh, I think the Golden State Warriors just like every player.
00:08:03
Yeah.
00:08:04
No, no, I'm really hoping because I do think that if the warriors passed on Wiseman, he's going to follow the Cavs of five.
00:08:12
I think Charlotte's going toe.
00:08:14
Think about it.
00:08:15
But the Warriors take Denny of DEA or Obi Topping, which I actually like topping in Golden State.
00:08:20
I just think Wiseman would fall to the Cats in that scenario.
00:08:24
Um, but Topping is a guy.
00:08:27
I think if you're putting money on who's gonna win rookie of the year, I think he's gonna put up those kind of numbers no matter where he's drafted pretty much.
00:08:34
But what he could do on offense is as impressive as his defense is terrifying.
00:08:40
Like that guy cannot move his **** hips.
00:08:43
Watch defensive highlights that I cannot get low in the stance.
00:08:47
He cannot move laterally like if or how explosive he is.
00:08:51
It's remarkable how tough it is for him to move around, But the cows are planning on resting Kevin Love on back to backs throughout this season.
00:08:59
He may only play six the games.
00:09:01
They want to kind of preserve him a little bit, so Obi might be playing there.
00:09:05
They might play them a little bit at the five Andre Drummond.
00:09:08
They're listening to trade offers with him, so I see it.
00:09:12
But because you're you're invested in a small backcourt.
00:09:16
I want to see defense in the front court and obey just does not bill that need.
00:09:20
So it's even though it's fun.
00:09:22
That's kind of a nightmare scenario in my eyes.
00:09:25
It seems like you guys were really in the perfect spot because you don't have necessarily that pressure of like one, too.
00:09:31
You're picking right away and it just see, I don't know.
00:09:33
It feels like you guys are gonna get somebody like somebody interested.
00:09:36
It was very late.
00:09:37
I was fist pumping because I hate the top of this draft.
00:09:39
Who doesn't really, really look at Anthony Edwards and Lemelle a ball like look at Edwards stats.
00:09:46
And yes, he had points, but he didn't finished efficiently at the rim.
00:09:50
He can shoot.
00:09:51
He takes add shots.
00:09:52
He has as many turnovers assists.
00:09:55
I have like outside of him having an MBA body which 100% that dude is Jack.
00:10:01
He is massive.
00:10:02
He is gonna be forced to move around the fact that he can't finish with that body like he is not good at anything.
00:10:09
Yeah, and he is like in the conversation for consensus number one along with ball and that really goes to show that I don't think this is a draft or even for home run swings.
00:10:19
I think there are solid starters to be had.
00:10:21
I like a lot of the wings.
00:10:23
There's a lot of guys that can play defense.
00:10:25
I'm happy to be at five, like on our live stream.
00:10:28
I was fist pumping.
00:10:29
I was glad because I did not want ball because honestly, I like the guards that we have Mawr and I'd like to give them a legitimate shot to at least try to fail like I'm hoping they succeed.
00:10:41
But I want to see them get the reps and have the opportunity to go out there and fail.
00:10:45
Yeah, no and it's it is funny, like I actually wouldn't I think if you're doing anything, I actually wouldn't hate Lemelle Oh, for you guys because he's he just moves it like he's a connector.
00:10:55
But I do like just watching you guys and I admitted I didn't watch like every single game off the calves this year.
00:11:01
I'm offended by that.
00:11:02
I'm ferries.
00:11:03
I hate to tell you, but it did feel like they were a little bit short of connector, like somebody that could just, you know, make that either the hockey assist or it just like that.
00:11:12
It just was the thing that really played that team.
00:11:14
So he would at least add that he's another word prospect, though it's like he can't shoot.
00:11:19
He is just disastrous on defense.
00:11:22
Can't finish. It already loves to shoot.
00:11:24
So I love to shoot like that. That's the thing.
00:11:27
How you feel about Edwards is how I feel about ball, and I still kind of like I hold out hope.
00:11:31
But I just it's a weird It's just a very bizarre player.
00:11:35
Yeah, and if he goes to Minnesota, that team is gonna You know what? Like I feel like Minnesota.
00:11:40
If they can't trade all that pick, they are destined from Israel.
00:11:44
Like I I think with Edwards.
00:11:45
You got a really chance that Shabazz Mohammed two point.
00:11:49
Oh, here, Andi, With ball like between cat ball and deal Oh, together and Beasley.
00:11:56
These thinks he's in that class.
00:11:58
You have to.
00:11:59
You are just bleeding points and like, you know what? The cats have a very tough road to not be the worst defense in the N B A.
00:12:06
That would be a big boost that would help them out at being at least 29.
00:12:12
Matt Moore and I saw you.
00:12:14
You were chipping in a little bit, too.
00:12:16
There's some optimism about the Cavs.
00:12:18
Like, not, like, explain the road.
00:12:21
Are they going to make the playoffs? What's the road this year? Is it just fun bad or do you actually see, like, serious upside? So I I think what they were doing last season, especially when J.
00:12:32
B. Bickerstaff took over.
00:12:34
I thought they were doing the right thing.
00:12:35
Where Hey, young guys, you are getting guaranteed burn.
00:12:38
You're going to get your 25 minutes a night.
00:12:40
But if you want that to get the 35 if you want to close the game, you have to be accountable.
00:12:45
You have to be trying to do the right things.
00:12:46
You can miss shots, you can mist offensive assignments, but the effort needs to be there.
00:12:51
I think the biggest thing that the Cavs want to do is create a culture of accountability, and they have the guys that could do that.
00:12:57
I mean, ***ton, Garland and K P J.
00:13:02
Those guys are going to be getting a lot of minutes, but if they are slacking off yuk unjust Aziza Lee have Garland playing point guard, inventing *** in which they did.
00:13:12
You can have the inverse of that where, um ***ton's playing in garlands bench.
00:13:17
Dylan Wendler is gonna be in the mix somebody that they're insanely high on, like they're scary high on this guy.
00:13:24
Like they think I think Chris Feed or had this where they're not going to take a three just to take a three in this draft because they're that high on what Dylan Willers doing eso They feel like he can bring the best player available.
00:13:36
So because a rich man's Duncan Robinson we don't know.
00:13:39
Um, but, like that's that's a guy that you can throw into the mix.
00:13:43
Um, there, Jedi Osmond is a guy they can throw in the mix.
00:13:46
McKenney, Dante X.
00:13:47
Um um so I think what you're going to see the biggest thing for the Cavs.
00:13:53
The road to them being fun is Darius Garland.
00:13:57
Now, healthy means blank.
00:13:59
Like if he builds upon what he was doing towards the end of the season.
00:14:04
So he was averaging, like 14 points, five assists.
00:14:07
He was making good passes, but you could tell he was hesitant.
00:14:10
If now that he's healthy, he's able to score like he was able to in college and the kind of the the offensive package that had got him drafted where he did.
00:14:20
I think that opens up opportunities for other guys, and then you start to see a more cohesive team.
00:14:26
He could be that connecting piece.
00:14:28
If Garland can't do that this season and we don't see like building towards that, then you have to start looking for a primary initiator elsewhere.
00:14:36
Whether that's kind of ah ah, point forward like a kid Cunningham, If you win the draft or like a Yokich type or another point guard, I think then you have to start examining other options.
00:14:47
What passes was it? Was it like a lob? Was he like, kind of like a lot past guys? He's somebody that's like hitting guys on the screws in the corners like what type of past was he? Did you feel like he really evolved quickly? Go.
00:14:58
I thought Garland was making a lot of good reads like he really has a nice knack of when he's in traffic, still keeping his head up and finding the open guys.
00:15:07
Whether that's kind of a drop off after the big man in the in the key, whether that's finding guys in the corners, he needs, um really, really nice reads.
00:15:15
And I just think once the defense respect his scoring ability, Mawr, um, you're going to see those assist numbers go up a swell because he's gonna have an increased ability to create opportunities for other guys.
00:15:28
And you saw the season went on.
00:15:30
It was three assists a game in one month, and it was four then He was up to five the last two months on distresses where he was doing really nice things.
00:15:38
So I do think that they could do a playmaking by committee kind of thing.
00:15:44
Like if sections at 3 to 4 garlands and kind of that six assists range loves a good passer.
00:15:49
Drummond's a good passer.
00:15:51
They have guys on the wing that can provide secondary playmaking.
00:15:55
I think they can make up for the fact that there isn't a central hub which I really do feel and I think you guys know that in Brooklyn.
00:16:03
I think that's outdated.
00:16:04
If you have a lot of guys that can provide that plane, making team assists is way more important than having one guy that creates for everybody.
00:16:11
As you see Houston and other teams that play that style of offense, it just doesn't work in the playoffs.
00:16:17
Yeah, I agree.
00:16:18
I think you need to have like, a baseline.
00:16:19
But it maybe isn't like, Oh, you have to have this like, you know, you have to have a Ricky Rubio like it's not like we're not living in that world anymore. Like the Clippers.
00:16:27
Clippers should probably get.
00:16:29
Probably get somebody who moves it a little bit better.
00:16:30
They also need to figure out like what scheme? They're running.
00:16:33
That would be.
00:16:34
That'd be nice like that. They're figure out.
00:16:36
Are they? Are we switching everything? Are we in zone? One of my favorite stats is since the Isaiah Thomas Pistons won the championship, there have been two teams that have a player that for the season averaged over eight assists, a game that won the championship.
00:16:51
I guess actually three now Lakers air included in that, but the other one is the Toronto actors with Kyle Lowry is up at about eight.
00:16:59
The other one was the Dallas Mavericks, with Jason Kidd and Kid kind of step back and the distributed the ball more.
00:17:06
Jason Terry was getting involved in the playoffs.
00:17:08
So, um, this Central hub type offense, it really doesn't win very often in the n b A.
00:17:14
You need to have multiple creators and multiple looks.
00:17:17
Because defense is as much as defense is having trouble keeping up with offense in today's MBA, they still will take away one option.
00:17:26
They could still kind of take it that away.
00:17:28
If you are just running everything through one guy, I felt like this was a big year for defense.
00:17:32
I think this was the year where it kind of.
00:17:34
I mean, look at the teams that were in the finals and a lot of this.
00:17:37
I thought this was a really my big take away, maybe more than anything was just like, Oh, I think I think we finally, like sort of figured out how to, like, slow down the three point movement a little bit like just someone to a degree.
00:17:49
So which is nice.
00:17:50
I would love that.
00:17:51
We're working towards figuring out how to do it within these rules, I think there is space for the rules to be tweaked, and you give defense a little more of a chance.
00:18:02
Um, but teams were starting to adjust a little bit.
00:18:06
And it's all cyclical, right? Like changes.
00:18:08
The offense come in, defense takes a year or two to catch up.
00:18:12
Then offense takes a year or two to catch up to where the defense is doing.
00:18:15
And we just evolved to a better and better game.
00:18:18
I think a lot of that also just stems from, like, the general parody.
00:18:21
So if you just have a bunch of teams, they're dead.
00:18:24
Even you're gonna have your guys that really can't make threes because it's not that, like so much overwhelming top end talent is gonna be those guys that you don't necessarily want taking threes like Jae Crowder and the Finals, for example, taking those shots.
00:18:36
So who, by the way, is gonna be just going to get a nice look? Contract this free agency, period? Um, one of my least favorite calves of all time. Shut up.
00:18:45
Boston in 19., yeah.
00:18:46
Yeah, that was I saw his clips going around the other day I was like, We really are in the off season when I when we have, like Jae Crowder.
00:18:52
Yeah, defensive is different.
00:18:56
Um, busy trade period.
00:18:59
Andre Drummond.
00:19:00
There are.
00:19:02
I have three spots I could I could be wrong.
00:19:04
We could feel free to just tell me I'm wrong and there's more than that.
00:19:07
I've Clippers, Boston, Golden State.
00:19:09
Anybody else that you think would be looking at him.
00:19:11
Clippers, Boston, Golden State.
00:19:12
One interesting one.
00:19:14
And this is a conversation that the team needs.
00:19:17
Toe have here is Minnesota.
00:19:19
If Karl Anthony counts still refuses to play center, you don't own your pick.
00:19:24
And you you're like you're kind of stuck like you have to get better.
00:19:30
So if they do and end up taking ball, I'd be interested to see if the calves could kind of get matching salary back.
00:19:37
Maybe even give up a future acid and get like a Jared Culver back.
00:19:41
Like if they could get him.
00:19:44
Get kind of that, that wing player.
00:19:46
If Minnesota is, I wouldn't say it's giving up on him because you'd be investing in Andre Drummond at that point, and you're also investing in ball.
00:19:53
Who's going to get the ball in his hands and Culver needs the ball in his hands and blow needs the ball in his hands.
00:19:58
Cat needs the ball in his hands.
00:19:59
I think it would be kind of, ah, reallocation of assets, kind of situation, Um, but the teams you named, I think, make the most sense.
00:20:08
Like I think maybe there's an opportunity for Boston if they want to flip Gordon Hayward for him.
00:20:14
I think that makes sense for both teams.
00:20:16
I know people are a little low on Andre Drummond.
00:20:19
I'm not that low on him.
00:20:21
But I do think that the most responsible thing for the Cavs is to explore his trademark it because not only can you bring a lot of value is a rental piece, but the cows are basically one of the only teams right now in a pandemic that are willing to take on money.
00:20:35
A smudges.
00:20:36
People will talk about Dan Gilbert, Dan Gilbert's willingness to spend and spend to get out of mistakes he made and just spend, spend, spend.
00:20:44
That is what separates Cleveland from Indiana because if they ever figure it out, they're going to continue spending.
00:20:50
They will invest in their guys.
00:20:51
They're not gonna lose guys for that reason.
00:20:53
So they're willing to take on long term money for Andre Drummond.
00:20:57
And if teams like you're going into one of the best free agency classes ever, If you get Andre Drummond is a rental either now or at the deadline and you get to clear $30 million in cap space, I think that that is attractive.
00:21:12
And it was a smart gamble by Kobe Altman Thio get drumming for basically nothing because they were willing to pay and wait until they were at this period.
00:21:22
Which, which trade package? Right now Do you like the most personally Oh, God, I mean, the call for one.
00:21:28
I'm just making up.
00:21:29
So I won't pretend like that's anything close to real.
00:21:33
Um, what I like.
00:21:35
So I think if the Cavs want to take their big swing in this draft and the guy they feel most comfortable with his Wi*****, I think there is opportunity.
00:21:44
If there was a Drummond for Wigan swap where the Warriors get to go back, they get to take Denny or topping or another one of those guys that they kind of really want, um, and you swap picks there so Cleveland gets to go Number two.
00:21:59
They take Wiseman.
00:22:00
Maybe you bring back Tristan Thompson at that point because there is mutual interest in bringing Thompson back.
00:22:06
Eso if TT can be there to mentor Wiseman and you get Wiggins in there, obviously, like you don't love paying them what you're paying them.
00:22:15
But small forward is a really shallow position when it comes to talent across the N B A.
00:22:20
Yeah, it might be a worthwhile gamble like I don't love Wiggins taking the ball of the hands of the young Guards.
00:22:27
But from an asset management standpoint, the team starts to make a whole lot more sense.
00:22:32
If it's, um, Garland ***ton, Wigan's Love and Wiseman or Thompson started, maybe K p.
00:22:39
J makes it in the starting lineup.
00:22:41
The roster starts making sense, and I think that's the biggest thing for Kobe Altman is by the end of this year, well, you've made it through the asset collection stage.
00:22:50
We need to start finding out what this team's identity is going to be.
00:22:54
That's Ah, the Wiggins thing is interesting because I like I don't you kind of wish he'd get a couple months of the Golden State seasoning just like a little bit.
00:23:03
Because that's my one.
00:23:04
I'm like, I like that trade a lot.
00:23:05
But God, if you could get Wiggins after, just, you know, maybe it's the trade deadline, whatever that's gonna be.
00:23:11
Because I guess we're not having an All Star weekend.
00:23:13
Um, so, I mean, not not far away from me is a Andrew Wiggins calves jersey, right? Yeah, it's kind of it's great, weird circle.
00:23:22
That would be weird as hell.
00:23:24
And I mean, the funny thing looking back at it is Minnesota was not willing to give up Wiggins in a trade package for Kyrie Irving, um, back when they were originally shopping and and the cat has had to some interesting at least exploring what that looked like.
00:23:39
And I mean, there are scenarios on both sides to that, um, the other one was Denver not willing to give up Jamal Murray? Which people forget Jamal Murray and I like to compare him to Darius Garland.
00:23:50
For this reason, he was not healthy throughout his work e season.
00:23:53
It was nine points a game.
00:23:54
He shot horribly from the field shot horribly from three and wasn't playing defense.
00:23:59
But Denver just had faith in their guy.
00:24:00
And Minnesota have faith in their guy to it just didn't work out for them.
00:24:05
That's a good comp.
00:24:06
I like that.
00:24:07
The garlands interesting.
00:24:08
I think a lot of people are out just way too early, like way, way, way, way too early.
00:24:14
And it just it's a tough roster, especially when you get drafted into a place where you you have overlap, like instantly, where guys already doing a lot of the same things and having the ball a lot in his hands.
00:24:24
E I always I'm like, I'm going to give you a year to, like, figure that out and get comfortable because that's a big ask on.
00:24:32
And I mean, the Cavs had their mini camp and the name that kept coming out like everyone got excited because calling *** and added just a ton of muscle.
00:24:40
And he like, I think people forget just how **** good calling ***ton waas last year like he had a bad first month.
00:24:47
But, um, he, like you look at his numbers at that age and Donovan Mitchell numbers at that age, like he scored more points per game, then Jamal Murray has at higher efficiency, higher efficiency.
00:24:58
The Mitchell, like this guy could legitimately score.
00:25:01
And if he starts contributing on the defensive end and starts flashing that potentially show that Alabama that really rounds things out like that's a very good combo guard, tohave.
00:25:11
But with Garland like, I'm not going to get on anybody cast ads or otherwise that are skeptical about him.
00:25:16
I I think that's totally warranted.
00:25:18
I think the flashes were there, but I'm also going to acknowledge that I'm incentivized to look for those flashes.
00:25:24
I happen to really like the guys at the Cavs have drafted.
00:25:27
I don't always love them.
00:25:28
I hated the *** Olympic.
00:25:30
He won me over.
00:25:31
I hated Dion.
00:25:32
I hated Anthony Bennett and like that was before they had ever disappointed me on the court.
00:25:36
But this is a group of guys that really believe in and I think Garland is poised to make a big leap next year.
00:25:43
But if we get to whatever the All Star break is next season and he still kind of looks like the tentative guy he is Okay, well, then maybe we're talking more about like a D J.
00:25:53
Augustine type guy that sticks around, but he'll win you one game in the playoffs.
00:25:59
But you'll never win you four, which isn't like the worst thing.
00:26:02
At least you kind of know, like you'll have a pecking order like you're like, OK, this is a backup like cool with D.
00:26:07
J. Augustine on.
00:26:10
Maybe maybe then it becomes *** and and K p J.
00:26:13
They were terrible together last season.
00:26:16
Garland and Come Porter Jr We're really good together, but, um, what the Cavs Air doing it sounds like, is Kevin Porter Jr is going to be in that James Harden.
00:26:24
Okay, so you roll where he's coming off the bench and he's really handling the ball a lot.
00:26:28
He's gonna play starter's minutes.
00:26:30
I have no doubt about that.
00:26:31
They still believe he has the highest upside of anyone on the team.
00:26:35
Um, but they've been bringing him along slowly.
00:26:38
They've really been patient.
00:26:39
They, they're making him earn all of his minutes and it's really paying dividends so far.
00:26:44
What, you're caught for him? Reporter Eso He kind of does remind me a little bit.
00:26:50
I mean, the the obvious comp is kind of like a Jimmy Butler ish where both guys stone the draft, went to 30 on Ben. Just kind of immediately.
00:27:00
See.
00:27:01
Wow, this guy has more raw defensive potential than we realized.
00:27:04
And offensively, the Seattle influences there.
00:27:08
Like you could tell that the way he creates space.
00:27:10
You got that Jamal Crawford type influence there? Um e mean, they drafted him.
00:27:17
He was 64 He's up to 6667 now, Um, that certainly helps things that kind of clears up the whole guard issue.
00:27:25
They still view him as it, too.
00:27:26
But kind of that ball handling wing that can create some secondary offense, play defense, contribute on both ends.
00:27:34
I think he fits in that role really nicely.
00:27:36
You also can play like those guys.
00:27:38
You can just plug in whatever I think like, especially as they get older and older, like they put on even a little bit of muscle.
00:27:43
It's like, Okay, this is great when you play wherever he played a ton, I think 76% of his possessions were playing at small forward.
00:27:51
So, um, that might still happen.
00:27:53
Like at this point, they do feel garland is the only pure point guards on the roster.
00:27:58
So it is gonna be Garland and ***.
00:28:00
And if they've UK PJs, too, he's not starting over ***.
00:28:03
And just yet, they may be forced to start him at the three on and play all three of them together.
00:28:08
But I do think the most important thing is closing games and and those guys, they're all going to be getting more than enough minutes.
00:28:14
So I'm not too concerned about a large. I'm there.
00:28:17
We call in ***.
00:28:18
And how early do you think he could make an All Star team? Do you think he could make an All Star team start by men? See, like I've gone from him being like a Jordan Clarkson type Thio really believing in him? Um, the funny thing is like I rolled my eyes like a lot of people will buy into this guy's Jim rap, blah, blah, blah.
00:28:37
It's pretty clear that he is borderline insane, like a Tal Obama.
00:28:43
They would lock up the gym and he would find ways to break into it, kind of saying, this guy has no life like he loves basketball and I do think that he's going to put up in All Star caliber season.
00:28:55
You look at how he closed out last year.
00:28:57
Hey had like a 60% true shooting percent over the last 45 games, 23 points per game, 3.
00:29:03
5 assist shooting like 40.
00:29:07
I think it was like 48% from the floor and 43% from three, like he was really scoring at a high level.
00:29:13
And I don't think the cats are gonna have the winds to get him into that All star conversation.
00:29:18
The East is actually kind of surprisingly deep at this point, but I think you can have an All Star caliber year and then maybe the following year, when All Star is actually back, people can go and the events in Cleveland.
00:29:30
I could see him maybe sneaking into that one who you have above them.
00:29:34
You think it's deeper this year? Oh, they because that's being better.
00:29:38
Hopefully eso I think in the East there are seven teams that are locked into playoff spots.
00:29:44
Basically, I don't think Indiana is going to drop out.
00:29:46
They were very competitive without depot.
00:29:48
Even if they trade like miles turn into the Warriors.
00:29:51
Let's say that ends up happening and to get Wiggins back, and that ends up being the way Golden State goes.
00:29:56
I just think they do such a good job.
00:29:59
Maybe there's a bit of a drop off without Nate McMillan there, but they're gonna be in the playoff mix.
00:30:04
So look, Milwaukee, Toronto Um Boston, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Indiana.
00:30:13
I'm forgetting one, I think.
00:30:15
How maney list there.
00:30:17
Let's see.
00:30:18
Boston, Toronto, Indiana, Philadelphia, the Nets That we mentioned the Nets.
00:30:24
Yeah, I said that that, um Miami.
00:30:28
Miami? Yeah, that's not the one who should forget.
00:30:31
That is not the one that Teoh Twitter is going to be giving me.
00:30:36
The, uh, giving me the thumbs out there, man, That was an l on then for eight.
00:30:43
I honestly think Chicago is going to get in there.
00:30:45
I just think they have a lot of talent.
00:30:48
They no longer have the worst coach in the N B.
00:30:49
A exact Levine was great.
00:30:51
Um, they're gonna be adding another high pick there.
00:30:54
They're gonna be healthier.
00:30:55
I think they actually had a chance even to kind of sneak into the playoff picture.
00:31:00
If there was 20 more games eso.
00:31:02
As long as they're healthy, I think they get the eighth seed.
00:31:04
So even if Cleveland's competitive and maybe they get to, like 32 wins, Um, there's still probably going to be about seventh and lottery odds, which in today's lottery, like that's basically that's not a whole lot worse, that if you have the worst record in the league, so you might as well be competitive.
00:31:20
You might as well developed guys because I think you look around the MBA.
00:31:24
Look at the last teams that were there.
00:31:26
There was a lot of teams that just will develop whoever we have.
00:31:29
We'll try to win games.
00:31:30
Maybe we won't bring in like, ah, Star free agent to inflate Irwin Total too much.
00:31:35
But we're going to compete on Bond like that's what Brooklyn did, too.
00:31:38
They just work the hell out of those guys.
00:31:41
And when you do that, even if you don't get the lottery lucky want, you can consolidate that talent trade for a star, and I think that's a really important thing to do.
00:31:50
You also mentioned owner that's willing to spend governor.
00:31:53
I should say, um, that's willing to spend um, that's That's the that's That kind of gives you a little bit of a leg up.
00:32:00
You don't necessarily always see that.
00:32:02
So keeping us interesting like that, that's the nice thing.
00:32:05
Like the cows suck.
00:32:06
I know what I don't have any kids, but, like, I feel like I'd be good at kids because I'm willing toe love, something that's mediocre.
00:32:14
I just e wanted team.
00:32:18
That's like a black I could see it.
00:32:19
I know they suck.
00:32:21
I will tell you when they suck, but I'm I'm an optimist at heart.
00:32:24
So I I enjoy them and they keep things interesting because they do have willingness to go out there and be active in the trade market.
00:32:31
And Kobe Altman has had some really good trade deadline's.
00:32:34
It hasn't always worked out, but I think that on paper, the moves were smart.
00:32:39
Speaking of trades, uh, can you Do you think love is going anywhere? Is there a way to move them? Is this just a lost a lost cause? I don't think it's this season.
00:32:52
I think we'll love looked a little bit happier.
00:32:56
A season progressed on, the young guys started playing better.
00:33:00
Um, like he has been like, even though he's had his kind of flare ups and bad moments.
00:33:05
He's owned up to those bad moments, and I give him a lot of credit for it.
00:33:10
I think the castle try to do right by him.
00:33:12
If they can get value back, they will try to accommodate him on move him out.
00:33:17
But I do think that he's a solid leader toe have.
00:33:20
I think maybe after this season, they're going to be able to find a suitor when there's less time on his deal.
00:33:26
Um, but he's a good player, like I would rather go out there and get Kevin Love than I would Al Horford at this point, like I think love really can still contribute to a team.
00:33:36
Yeah, that seems like probably the movie.
00:33:38
It's like it's funny because everybody, it's such a weird year where the bad contracts are so bad this year.
00:33:45
It's like it's so bad, eh? So it's like you kind of like I don't know, you know, It always could be worse.
00:33:51
There's always the Sixers there.
00:33:53
Yeah, I mean, that's the another day you're over paying for a veteran.
00:33:57
That actually does he, despite kind of the blowups everyone's looking for.
00:34:03
And ah, lot of that was teams that we're looking to get him for nothing that we're very excited about it.
00:34:08
Um, he has someone that does speak up in the locker room.
00:34:10
He is active.
00:34:11
He's invested in these guys.
00:34:13
He showed up for the mini camp when there was voluntary eso.
00:34:17
He does the right things, and I think some of that is an understanding that, hey, by being a good soldier, it's gonna make you more job.
00:34:24
You can't have that going around on Twitter, where you're like throwing tan like you can't do it.
00:34:29
It's just for one way to freedom.
00:34:31
It's like a joke with Gobi.
00:34:33
Play for your freedom, like you can't do that with all the money that you have left.
00:34:38
It's like I get the frustration, but I mean, it's not going to do you any long term favors.
00:34:44
If you're trying to, like, look for your next essay, it's just not gonna help you.
00:34:47
So there's no upside.
00:34:49
If we're talking about upside here, there's none in that.
00:34:52
There's zero, not even a little bit there.
00:34:54
Um, I have a trade.
00:34:57
I want Larry Nance on the nets.
00:34:59
Oh, no, I dio Larry, I dio What? How do we do this? How do we work this out? Can I give you a Can I give you? Can I give you pick 19 and Taurean Prince? Oh, God, no! God, no, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:35:13
So what I want to give you, Larry Nance brings a very important advanced stat to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
00:35:19
And that is gets us.
00:35:21
Hey, is a Cleveland native.
00:35:23
They absolutely love him.
00:35:24
There he is, Massive in the locker room, you look at the actual advanced stats and now that he's not playing center, he has a very legitimate case for being the most impactful player on that team.
00:35:36
I don't think that the calves would have any riel willingness Thio like if the right everybody is available for the right price.
00:35:45
But they're certainly not shopping them, especially if they are hoping to move on from love.
00:35:50
Nancy is probably that guy that's gonna be filling in the or he just brings a lot to that team.
00:35:55
The young guys absolutely love him.
00:35:57
He's a great leader.
00:35:58
He's so active in the community, um, shot Uncle Aaron and for coming on our podcast.
00:36:04
Hey helped us out with our recapping in the 2016 finals and was talking about what the hell that Katie put him through in 2018 in the finals.
00:36:14
Um, he's He'd probably be a little bit of an unrealistic target, especially when you're talking about getting another pick in this draft.
00:36:23
I think the casual rather trade out of this draft and get another one because they already have young guys that we're going to need a lot of reps and billon.
00:36:31
Wendler is another first round pick that hasn't played a game yet, and they want to get minutes for him.
00:36:35
So if you're bringing in like a coral and Wendler all of a sudden, like, where's the development room for another first round pick? Interesting.
00:36:44
I'm trying to think like Jared Allen.
00:36:46
Would you do Jared Allen? Would you do I love journo? I don't even know if I would do that.
00:36:50
I really think you know what you keep Jared Allen like.
00:36:53
I'm a big, big George Allen fan.
00:36:57
I like Jackson Hayes in last year's draft because I was like the cats in trade back go get Jackson Hayes because I think he could be in that Jared Allen mold like that was the guy I was thinking of.
00:37:08
Um I don't know if there's, ah, logical partner there.
00:37:12
I mean, who have salary to.
00:37:14
So you have no Kevin love there.
00:37:16
I'd love to move them.
00:37:17
I love them.
00:37:18
I think that would work out.
00:37:20
Um, go get Caris Levert, get the Ohio guy back.
00:37:24
But obviously that they're high on him.
00:37:26
The net start like they should be, but they are, like, high on him.
00:37:31
So what? Which makes sense.
00:37:33
But, like, it's Yeah.
00:37:36
I mean, when the photos came out like this was I think it was this week.
00:37:40
They had the photos come out with him and Durant.
00:37:43
I was like, Okay, I see what's going on here.
00:37:45
It's either, like, the most ridiculous smokescreen ever.
00:37:48
And they have something worked out because, like, you know, that's, like, so s***my to Diogo.
00:37:52
Like, do you like photos? Didn't work out and then be like, Okay, So you want moratoriums left? It s so I think I think I know where this is going.
00:38:01
I've had a couple days to think about it.
00:38:02
but yeah.
00:38:03
All right, well, I try.
00:38:05
I try to throw one, trade out every one of these, and I tried.
00:38:08
I appreciate you know what, Z? Fine.
00:38:11
Honestly, there's a funny thing Larry Nance is another guy that wins meal has won me over because one.
00:38:17
And I always couched it with saying he should not be playing center because a lot of people wanted to replace Tristan Thompson with Larry Nance and they were trying to play him at the five.
00:38:26
He just doesn't have the same kind of rim protection ability.
00:38:30
He's sure he's 67 it just doesn't work out of that position.
00:38:35
But once John Henson came back and then eventually Drummond and they were playing him at the four and even some three, his impact just went through the roof.
00:38:44
Um uh God, what did I I had some sort of nepotism joke with clarinets and, like it was obviously tongue in cheek with with his dad having his jersey retired in Cleveland and whatnot.
00:38:57
Um, but yeah, he's won me over.
00:39:00
He's such a hard worker, and he's a really, really valuable piece Thio what the cats are trying to do because the Cavs like, even if what ends up happening is they're Portland in the East, where they're getting maybe second round and out.
00:39:15
They wanna have sustained winning without LeBron and they wanna have improved culture and improve standing among the league.
00:39:22
And I think that that's, Ah, smart way to go.
00:39:25
And he's a part of that.
00:39:26
Yeah, and you could also, like, I think, the there's ways to win this year with the Lakers having like zero Wings.
00:39:33
I was kind of look like that because they have, like, awesome, like point of attack defenders and all this stuff.
00:39:38
So this kind of folks a hole in this idea? But there is other ways to win, like it's not just like all wings and shooters like there are other ways to do this now.
00:39:45
Talent is obviously the great.
00:39:48
I'm not really equalizer the complete opposite of that.
00:39:50
So that's that's still pushes everything.
00:39:53
But I mean it does e.
00:39:56
I think you can build from the middle and like look at Utah and Denver, what they've done without actually ever really bottoming out.
00:40:04
Miami is done and where they've developed guys, I think where, like people say you don't want to become Portland.
00:40:09
Well, Portland build a great young core.
00:40:12
But when they cashed in all their chips, it was for Evan Turner and a bunch of other ducts.
00:40:18
Like When you're trying to consolidate your talent, that's that's kind of your moment of truth.
00:40:23
Toronto built great, sustained success, uh, ended up consolidated that into Kawhi Leonard.
00:40:29
Then, even after he left, they continue to develop undrafted guys like Terrence Davis and as long as you O G.
00:40:36
C A comes one of those guys to like, I think as long as you are focusing on developing any kind of you have your main team and you have other guys that you're bringing up along the right way, you can always have some flexibility to limit what your ceiling is.
00:40:52
And now that Golden State doesn't have Kevin Durant, the bar is more reasonable for contending, like I really do think that the MBA is in a great place where there's a lot of teams that are maybe a piece away and the bad teams have young guys that are worth caring about.
00:41:08
And, uh, I mean, I wish we had more people covering the sport that actually wanted to sell the sport.
00:41:14
But I do think that the N B A is a great product, and it's in a really great place.
00:41:18
Watch the bubble.
00:41:19
Watch any of the games in the bubble any, like, really, honestly, you watch ground round one of like Portland.
00:41:27
The Lakers.
00:41:28
Even that was a cool Siri's. It was cool.
00:41:30
E enjoyed Toronto, Brooklyn.
00:41:32
I did. I was sitting there.
00:41:34
I mean, maybe that's part of it, because I'm like, You know, I kind of like watching the misfit toys, But some of those games were competitive.
00:41:40
Guys were playing hard.
00:41:41
I don't know if Toronto was fully playing hard, but it was a good like it wasn't a bad Siri's by the time it wound down in Game four.
00:41:48
Sure, but like, Yeah, it's I think it's in a great spot.
00:41:51
The league is in a fantastic spot Grant and a Warriors fan will tell you otherwise because they wanna **** on the party and talk about rating even though it's down across the league.
00:42:01
I mean, if you love the MBA rating shouldn't matter.
00:42:03
I mean, look right behind me.
00:42:05
Look behind me over here.
00:42:06
This isn't gonna work for podcast, but I got my bombers thing out there.
00:42:09
I'm a big CFL fan.
00:42:11
Do you think I need other people, though, Like the CFL? Do you know how many people want to see if it's not done? I still got emotional as hell when they won the championship right before this covert hiatus.
00:42:21
Thank God they did.
00:42:22
But like it's if you love something, just enjoy it.
00:42:26
Sell it.
00:42:27
Tell people about it like that's That's the way to go.
00:42:29
And I'm I'm not worried about the NBA's long term health at all.
00:42:33
You are an optimist.
00:42:34
There we go.
00:42:35
You sold yourself correctly.
00:42:36
There you go.
00:42:37
That was very optimistic.
00:42:38
I love it.
00:42:39
No, I I totally agree.
00:42:40
Like it's I mean, I think the ratings thing is a lot of noise, every sports down.
00:42:45
So, like, that's that's all you need to know.
00:42:47
Like it's just this conversation could be done.
00:42:49
I'm not worried about too much like a pandemic.
00:42:51
It sucks.
00:42:52
Um, favorite quota this year.
00:42:56
Oh, my God.
00:42:57
Favorite quote, I really need to start preface ing some of these That z sort of.
00:43:01
Yeah, just let me know before, so I'm gonna go all the way back when the cast of this isn't a rebuild.
00:43:10
This is a renaissance, and we are going.
00:43:14
We're fully on with this renaissance.
00:43:16
We are keeping it going.
00:43:18
I guess the other, um the other red marble quote from this season was the whole slugs thing.
00:43:25
Get old bay line.
00:43:28
You know, honestly, the calves were ahead of the curve.
00:43:30
They got the old man Thio retire before or quit on the team, give back his salary before year if they knew they knew Kobe was coming and that he would be at risk.
00:43:42
So now they got younger J. B.
00:43:44
Bickerstaff Manning the helm.
00:43:46
Yeah, that was this year.
00:43:47
That was that long ago.
00:43:49
I'm so depressed all the sudden.
00:43:51
I didn't need a reminder.
00:43:53
I did not realize that was some of these things.
00:43:56
Like, I've seen a couple things on Twitter, like performances familiar early in the year.
00:44:00
I'm like, Okay, remember this? That one actually feels like it's from two decades ago.
00:44:05
Like I might have been a fetus when that happened.
00:44:08
I don't know.
00:44:10
You know what? We haven't had anything since march, and somehow we're still doing a weekly podcast on the Cleveland Cavaliers, which just seems ridiculous.
00:44:19
But now there's actually something to talk about, so I'm very excited about.
00:44:24
It's almost.
00:44:25
It's like it's not fair to couple of stick.
00:44:28
The curve is like this.
00:44:30
All of a sudden, it's we're about to hit a time of year where there are days where you cannot have exposed skin outside because it's so **** cold.
00:44:37
Um, there are days where Winnipeg gets colder than the temperature on Mars for that day.
00:44:43
Um, I need basketball because I'm not gonna be able to go outside eso I need that.
00:44:50
I really need this December start to come through.
00:44:52
Yeah, no, it will be.
00:44:54
It'll be nice.
00:44:55
It's a different.
00:44:56
It's a different, you know, if they have it in the holiday season.
00:44:58
Especially like depending upon where you are, like it's just it's a I'm really happy about that part because I think it does give people look, my my folks live in California.
00:45:07
I'm out in New York like, That's nice.
00:45:09
I I now have an entire you know, thing going on at that time, what I would be maybe flying home or or maybe not, But at least have the option like it is.
00:45:17
It's kind of nice, Um, another one that I I should have prefaced.
00:45:21
And this one, it's I feel like you could just even if it's a stat, you've already said, I don't mind but your favorite stat of the year.
00:45:27
What a blogger question, By the way, So Kiki have one game under 500 with J.
00:45:37
B. Bickerstaff? Yes, E.
00:45:39
Like my real favorite would be the Collin ***ton. One.
00:45:43
Another thing, I'll point out last year.
00:45:47
Net rating with Darius Garland, Kevin Porter Jr.
00:45:50
Without calling *** on the floor was a positive.
00:45:53
Those two.
00:45:54
Yeah, 19 years old, they were positive.
00:45:57
Together.
00:45:58
They had really good chemistry.
00:45:59
Um, it got better after the Jordan Clarkson trade.
00:46:02
The Jordan Clarkson trade was really ah, vote of confidence in K, P.
00:46:06
J and ***, and that they couldn't take a bigger role.
00:46:09
And after that point, that's where ***ton had that 45 game stretch where he's averaging 23 points a game on ridiculous efficiency.
00:46:16
And, uh, I do think that how those guys develop that that *** Land group with K p.
00:46:23
J.
00:46:24
I'm I'm really, really looking forward to seeing what they could bring to the table.
00:46:27
That's fun, too, because also, if if it looks awkward with the pairing of *** in Garland or whatever, you kind of you can run like a really fun bench, almost like you could split them up.
00:46:39
You haven't start together, but you just split up their minutes.
00:46:41
Kind of like what I guess Houston did with CP three and Harden.
00:46:45
That's really fun. That's cool.
00:46:47
I I always like like net ratings things, especially with, like young players like the What's a good one, like the pelicans with, you know, the Zion who I mean, this is like the smallest samples.
00:46:58
But like looking at like, Oh, did you play well with Lonzo? Did you play with Ingram? Like I love these I love numbers like that and also extrapolating small samples is something terrible.
00:47:07
Might be.
00:47:08
Zero might be a force this season because buffets or closed like buffets, everything Oh, yeah, you know what? Honestly, that's good for the health of both Zion and Stan Van Gundy.
00:47:17
The fact that those two can't go cut it up at a buffet, it's probably a really good thing my favorite thing of this week was that clip that I think it was bleacher report.
00:47:27
Put it up of stand.
00:47:28
Just cross it up, Ghost.
00:47:30
I don't know.
00:47:31
Oh, that's such a good one.
00:47:32
You could tell you he who stand could really play.
00:47:36
And he probably through his body around really? Well, yeah, he could.
00:47:39
I mean, look, it made me feel ashamed because I'm like the classic, like a white guy that just like Onley stands at the three point line. Can't shoot.
00:47:47
Probably should be rebound.
00:47:48
It doesn't want to get hurt.
00:47:49
Flimsy little bones like, Yeah, it was.
00:47:54
This is a big part of why you don't see many NBA players come from Winnipeg, but I was playing a center when I was in high school and college.
00:48:03
Then I started moving out the small forward and shooting more threes.
00:48:06
But I was modeling my game after very modern very water.
00:48:10
Yeah, stretching out, even even in high school, You know, I'll take you outside.
00:48:15
I'm gonna be whispering in your ear the whole time.
00:48:18
If I get you to throw a punch in my face like I'm just loving it like, uh, what's your comp? We got to come up with a calm for you.
00:48:25
What's a good one? A guy that was a center. I don't know.
00:48:28
This is a weird.
00:48:29
I was trying to be sheet.
00:48:30
I was trying to shoot out there.
00:48:31
There were going to who I really love.
00:48:33
It s o the guy that could kind of do a little different things and go up to the top of the key.
00:48:38
Top of the key was where I really like rare.
00:48:41
Okay, I like it.
00:48:42
You're the trailer, I guess.
00:48:45
E.
00:48:46
I guess I would have been back 2008.
00:48:49
2009.
00:48:50
So it was a little more in fashion than toe play.
00:48:53
Top of the e Wanna let you plug away anything you have coming out? Anything that you're excited for.
00:48:59
Anything new? Yeah.
00:49:01
Check out. Chase Down podcast.
00:49:03
We are cast podcast, but we are fans of the whole MBA.
00:49:07
Like I love basketball.
00:49:08
Carter loves basketball, and we talk about the whole n b a kind of through the lens of a Cavs fan.
00:49:13
But we like selling other teams we, like, bring it on, people toe, bring other perspectives, thio the show.
00:49:19
And I think It makes you a better fan when you know what's actually going on there.
00:49:24
Because, I mean, look at the amount of movement in today's MBA.
00:49:27
The odds are everybody is gonna be on your team at some point.
00:49:30
Eso we have a lot of fun way like Thio.
00:49:34
We like to be honest about where our blind spots are and bring on people that do know stuff when we do have blind spots.
00:49:40
Not one of those people that's gonna act like I've watched every single college prospect, every prospect overseas.
00:49:45
I'm also watching the w N B A and the D League.
00:49:48
You know, all these other teams, like I got a Turkish, the Turkish See League this week.
00:49:53
Just, you know, I will have very strong opinions on things that I am ill informed about it.
00:50:00
And I'm willing to back off those opinions when I'm wrong.
00:50:02
Yeah, yeah.
00:50:03
Check us out.
00:50:04
Chase down podcast.
00:50:05
They usually have a lot of fun there.
00:50:06
Well, thank you. Thank you for coming on.
00:50:08
This was amazing.
00:50:09
And I'm sure we'll reconnect soon.
00:50:11
Absolutely.
00:50:12
Dude, this was a lot of fun.
00:50:13
Really, really appreciate it.
00:50:15
Thanks for having me and invite me back any time.
00:50:17
Of course, I'm always willing to listen myself talking.
00:50:20
It's what? It's what I've really gone into this industry for self awareness.
00:50:26
I love it. Cheers, my friend.
00:50:45
Yeah.
