three to longest one second of all time.
Okay, there we go.
All right. We are live.
Is Monday September 21st, 2000 and never ending 20.
Talking about conference finals.
Uh, continuing to go on here as four teams are left is crazy.
We started with 22. We're down to four.
And I know our other group on Wednesday talked about you know what? The Clippers ended up failing in the then did what? Tuesday of last week.
So it's been a bit, but I think it's a good time to start, and, uh, I don't know.
I mean, knocked this out right away.
Clippers hit me.
Uh, eso reports coming out today have said that the Clippers don't really like Paul George, according to Shams, So it wouldn't shock me if he gets traded or if maybe they rekindle their friendship or whatever in the off season.
But right now, it seems like a pretty dark hole on the other side of L.
For the clippers.
Like it just it doesn't seem like any of them want to play for each other.
It looked like that on Tuesday.
Um, they were a group of basketball players scared to be where they were.
And that's never a good thing when you have, you know, such a stack team at the beginning of the year where everyone's like, Oh, they're gonna be finals contenders like they're gonna make the finals.
And then, you know, you fall short to Denver, who no one had in that spot.
Yeah, I think you can attest Denver's experience, or that's what I meant.
I guess you could test it to Denver's experience, because they, you know, they've been through this before.
They know how to win a long Siri's, um, obviously previously with Utah and then, you know, taking the Spurs to seven, even though that was the first round matchup, you know, they're gonna They're they've played long matchups and when, especially when the Clippers could get a little complacent, like I think they did, Um, that tends to be the biggest problem.
So I guess moving forward.
The question is, how do you look at this Paul George situation? Do you think you know they're not just gonna give it up? I think there too.
They are too, You know, they invested so much into Paul George.
They're not gonna get the same thing with Russell Westbrook.
They're not just going to give up on one year.
They're going to try and make that work because obviously it's a new system.
Regardless, I don't care if you bring in five superstars like you're gonna have the bumps in the road.
You know, unless you're Steph playing Kevin Durant, that just doesn't make sense.
So they're going to stick with Paul.
George. I don't see him being traded.
Um, I really don't.
So I mean, I think moving forward, they just kind of have to take the loss on this one.
I think they should fire Doc Rivers, but that's not going to happen.
So, um you know, really, it's It's just a little disappointing, I think, overall, but you have to give credit to the Nuggets.
They again, they're down double digits in both games five and six and they took care of business in all three of those games.
So but Okay, let's go and move on.
As you next said, they need some shooters in That's 25.
They need somebody to help them out.
Um, when their top two guys were struggling.
Our main social media, of combining.
There's deadlines from Game seven CO y and Paul George.
And it was like 24 points.
Um, horrendous shooting, like under 30%.
And then I put their their contract total to bottom, like 100 50 million or something.
Eso um yeah, so that's not great.
But you know, they'll reset that.
They're definitely be a top contender next year.
Unless they decided to do something absolutely insane.
But, no, I still think they're they're in a good point.
So now, about the team that beat them.
Now we're sitting.
It's to nothing Lakers and that in the conference finals, you really had just a gut punch of last night? Um, e I mean, what's going through your mind? Did you watch that in play? Yeah, I saw I was at work, unfortunately for most of the game, but when I got home, I started out really quick because I saw it was close.
Um, and there was Ah, there was a thing that came out today.
That was it was literally just a thank you for the donation.
That's pretty generous.
Thank you, Nick.
Um But yeah, I saw that it was basically just a missed defensive rotation.
And then if he has got an open shot, hit it and thats like you said, that's a gut punch.
Like that's something that you're already down 10 you have a good chance to go up or to get back to all square and then, you know, you get hit with that like it doesn't make me feel very good about the rest of the Siris for them.
Um, just because that's such like back when the Ray Allen hit the shot against the Spurs like the Spurs that Game seven, they were trained.
They were, like, kind of in shock.
Still from that night from that game before.
And I think kind of a similar situation is gonna be happening here, right? And I mean, you have to give Anthony Davis credit.
That's not even with no contest.
That's a difficulty falling out of bounds to your left like that, I would say give that a 30 40% chance of going in.
Um, but you know Mason Plumlee? I don't know what the heck is going on there.
You can't really blame like I understand why he was in alongside your kitchen Grant.
They're trying to prevent that tipping at the rim, which you know is is very.
It's not an uncommon play to use in that situation.
Sometimes it's almost unexpected.
So the personnel I didn't have a problem with its.
You know, I understand that Jeremy Grant is on LeBron and that you don't want him catching the ball.
But Mason Plumlee was not screened.
So if he's going, you know he's yelling at Jeremy Grant, who screened.
It's just it's like basketball one on one.
I don't You can't yell at somebody and then that's like, You know what? The y m c a.
Where you complaining that somebody for not rotating and and that's how that turns out so But again, it wasn't a high percentage shot either, so they could have very well gotten lucky and and miss that shot and be tied 11 So I just for me, it's a gut punch because I said because they're down 192 in the final minutes, you're like, Okay, well, Lakers have kind of coasted through this.
They're gonna hand, they're gonna take care of business and then, you know, out of nowhere, you grind that out.
Did you take that one point lead? You're thinking there's no chance, there's no chance.
So, yeah, I'm not sure I can't imagine.
I can't fathom what's going on in that locker room after the game.
I know I thought, I think I saw one thing.
Where, UM, They said Yokich was trying to explain the play and that I guess nobody else wanted to talk.
Who knows if that's really true or not.
But either way you know it.
Zzyzx appointing because you have what it takes.
The Nuggets have shown they have what it takes to compete and something like that, where it's just a boneheaded play at the end, where you just they might be mentally drained.
Who knows? That could very well be part of it, but I don't know.
It's it's to nothing instead of 11 Do you like their chances to win any games at this point, or do you think it's gonna be a gentleman's or regular sweep? I think I think Denver could get a game because they were so close last night and Yokich and Murray, if they have both good games.
And for some reason, LeBron has another weird couple quarters or whatever.
Then you know they have a chance to win a game.
But there there's if they come back on the Lakers from this, I mean, that would be the most insane thing.
Like, I just I can't see that happening.
I LeBron and Anthony Davis is too much.
Anthony Davis is too much for the Nuggets to handle clearly because he's that's the one area where they struggle is big man defense.
And Anthony Davis is obviously someone who could score the ball 86 with 10.
He does all this stuff, all the stuff.
Um, so, yeah, I don't really give the Nuggets a fighting chance.
Then again, maybe if it's we're in normal cir***stances and they get a couple of home games in the altitude, who knows? I mean, there's just a lot of things to factor.
Um, at ST Benjamin.
Thank you for the tip.
Forget to mention Yeah, thanks.
So I guess we're looking ahead to gain three.
What do your adjustments that you make? I don't know what it's going to your mind if you're Mike Malone, Because it's just you did everything you could do to win this game.
And now you're sitting down to oh, moving in again.
I mean, what adjustments do you make? Um, yeah.
Did you change your rotation like, is there anything that you would change? Significantly.
I I feel like at this point, they kind of have to leave the ball with Marie and Yokich for, like, 40 of the 48 minutes in the game and just letting them do their thing run.
Two men came with them Porter in the game a lot, having him be able to hit threes on the side.
Like and then defensively, I I don't I honestly don't know what you dio because if you focus more attention on Anthony Davis, LeBron has the ball on the other side.
If you focus more attention on LeBron, he could just give it to Davis, and you almost have to double both of them.
Which is it possible like because it's such a bad matchup for them with the Clippers, they could get away with it because they don't have that big guy who could do, um, like shooting guard stuff like Davis Ken, but still post up like crazy because jukeboxes like he's a decent defender.
But he's not, you know, he's not fantastic.
And, uh, I just think I think Denver is gonna have MAWR trouble like that's gonna be their biggest problem.
And I don't I honestly don't know what I would do to try to stop that.
Yeah, I think another big factor that continues to really, um, Dumb found me is his Will Barton.
Where is Will Barton? This entire? He's healthy all season, and he has not played a game in the bubble at all.
I just I have no idea there's been no guidance other than it's a knee injury and that he's rehabbing that he had to leave the bubble.
He got to the bubble.
So this, you know, they're just There's no information, which is alarming.
The same thing happened with Gary Harrison.
He's finally returned.
Um, but, you know, again for him, he just came back mid Siris in the last one, right? He wasn't otherwise part of their rotation.
We're active roster.
I don't think right, pretty sure, Yeah, so it's just and it's frustrating and I know that's frustrating because we went to the Temple rules, we would do the same thing with Carl this year where he had that weird hand thing for.
He was questioned, like every day for a couple months.
Yeah, it's like, what? Just say what's happening and don't you know, don't leave it hanging? Yeah, And I just, you know, from a general standpoint, how can you game plan and change your whole scheme if it's designed around some of these guys that can help you with Jamal Marin? Political Yokich Will Barton is a volume scorer, you know.
He's He's one of the more underrated guys in the league.
Him and Gary Harris combined.
I don't Gary Harris has had his little bit of struggles here and there.
But you know, he's still part of a double digit scoring ****nal that, you know, as I wasn't there for a while, so well, Bart not being there, I guess we could just write him off.
I don't think he's gonna play it off.
He hasn't played yet.
There's I mean, there's is there any kind of guidance to say Oh, yeah, he's gonna show up in Game six? No, I mean there's He's not he's not gonna play like, especially if he's still injured.
Still rehabbing like I mean, it's hard to say because we don't know what it is.
So it's It's tough to kind of judge that.
Yeah, yeah, well, let's let's move on to the other Siri's here.
I know we we kind of want to keep this about a half hour.
And then we got Monday night football.
The 50th anniversary of that, I think, is today.
So there, uh, simulcasting it on ABC.
So we want to make sure we because they're going to do some cool tributes and stuff like that. I think so.
I want to make sure we're, uh, off of that.
But so I guess the Eastern Conference finals is where we're gonna move on to now.
The It's 21 Boston Celtics finally won a game.
Um, Hanan Miami, Their second, just their second postseason loss this year.
Um, you know, what do you see from that? Siri's And and who do you have it this point? I got Miami plain and simple.
I mean, Boston is good.
They're a great team.
Jayson Tatum is gonna be a superstar.
Jalen Brown is gonna be a star like they're not that they already aren't.
You know there, um, but it's Miami is such a well oiled machine in the same vein of Toronto last year.
And even this year, um, there their culture stuff like their infrastructure is fantastic.
They have everything you need.
They have shooting defense on a couple versatile guys on offense that, like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, that could do a lot of things.
Um, and then Tyler Herro has been fantastic, which he no idea how he felt the 14 in the draft.
Duncan Robinson is e.
I mean, everyone talks about him.
He's diamond in the rough.
He's one of the best shooters in the league.
Um, I mean, I don't I don't see how Boston can keep up because the defensive stuff, if you keep if you keep Jimmy Butler on one of Jalen Browner, Jayson Tatum and then have Dragic, who's a decent defender playing Camba like, other than that, what is Boston going to do? I mean, they don't have, like Marcus Smart, I guess.
But is he really gonna win you a game like in the playoffs by himself? He's going to try to he's gonna try.
It takes like 15 threes a game, I think, Or something stupid like that.
Um, you know, he and Gordon Hayward being back definitely gives them a boost.
I know they've been struggling that sort of bench power.
So him back there and and then now saying that he's no longer gonna leave for the birth of his fourth child.
I think that was the original plan.
And I think you know that, Z it's totally his decision.
I think that's you know it does.
No question, if he leaves, but I'm staying now does give the Celtics that advantage that they usedto have.
So for me, I just I watched Miami and how good they played against the Bucks and how good? Well, they played against our Games one and two in this series, and I think the only chance Boston has is if they can shut down the shooters, which is Aziz.
You mentioned the aforementioned Duncan Robinson entire hero.
Duncan Robinson was not existing against the books.
You really you know, maybe it one or two a game, but he didn't explode like he did in that.
I think it was last game where he had five.
Yeah, I want to say pretty much.
They let Jae Crowder beat them instead of Duncan Robinson, which pick your poison.
At that point it take, Crowder is going to shoot 50 60%.
I don't know what to tell you.
There's just No, it's a lose lose situation.
Like, seriously, it It was so frustrating.
Carter does this anyway, Like when he's with Boston.
He shot like, 70% against the Bucks and just drove me up a wall.
But, um, yeah, you know he had.
He was six for 12 in Game 24 for eight in Game three, as I'm looking at now.
So that's that's all he does is he doesn't take anything inside the arc.
If he does, it's like very, very rare.
Um, so I would say over 90% of his shots come out there and you know, the Bucks were able to contain him by giving it to Jae Crowder.
And if Jae Crowder is gonna beat you, that's fine.
But Duncan Robinson is was the guy to shut down and Tyler hero, he single handedly carried them in that second quarter.
Um, you know he was part of that.
He had 14 or so he at least like 15 in the quarter and he kept him in that game.
So the point where they they're still in the game, you know, they're kind of chipping away at this double digit lead that was very similar to Game two.
And, uh, you know, the Heat end up coming back in Game two, but not three.
So you know, it's a matter of Can you make that adjustment against and drag it by.
The way of drugs was terrible in Game two.
Um, that was probably his worst game of the playoffs.
No question about it.
Um, it's weird because he's always getting 25 a game and they were like, Wait a second.
Where's that regular season drag? It's that I'm used to sing, you see last, so consistent and he's, you know, he's a good play maker.
He's Beacon score, obviously, and that's what he does.
And then when you don't see that, what what I'm saying is like in the regular season, he wasn't that great, like he was 15 to 16 points a game.
He was good, but he wasn't this I'm gonna average 25 occasionally hit 30 for somebody that you know, the shots just so low percentage shots that he takes.
And I don't know, it was just so aggravating watching that because he would be outstretched arm of Brook Lopez is right there.
He's fading away and he hits some, like, just ridiculously high art shot.
I just drove me crazy.
But anyway so seeing him turn the ball over like six times, it was like, Wow, that xgo on dragons that I know you know that Zatz the regular season dragon.
So I think I made a joke in that in the chat.
But, um, that was, you know, that's gonna be the key to because if he's not creating, if he's not doing his part when Tyler hero has to take over what he did, but late in the game, that's when you needed him.
Um, and it just wasn't really there, So I think for them, that's the key.
And, you know, we talk about Jimmy Butler being a very, very solid top 25 top 30 player.
Um, I think he doesn't need to be that guy, But occasionally you are gonna need him to take over and in a Siri's where Obama the bio can really help you in just the basic pick and roll that, like the Celtics were Celtics were like, um, trying to find the right word for it.
They were like, uh, kind of, But it was like they were just so like deer in the headlights said They're like, really confused that simple pick and roll without a bio rolling and and just doing it down like single handily gave him like a 10. Nothing.
Run Thio pull this game within single digits at one point.
So e I still need I'm gonna take that word and give it to you.
But yeah, so I think that's that's gonna be the key.
Is, is really is how can you exploit that defense and how can you, you know, look ahead and say, Okay, we're going to stay home or we're going to switch, you know, always have those consistent things because otherwise you're like, I'm gonna buy you, just beat you in the paint.
That's gonna be a problem.
So again, we don't have a game tonight for Monday Night Football, But we do have game three the Western Conference finals tomorrow and then we kind of resume the every other day thing until these Siri's air over.
So I guess for Game three tomorrow who? You're taking Lakers again because I I don't see.
Uh The biggest thing with the Nuggets has been the resiliency in this playoffs, but I can't imagine that they stay afloat after that shot.
It is like that because that's as much as it might not seem like a huge deal.
It definitely is like you've seen it affect teams before in the playoffs.
After losing to game winners and stuff like it, you can see that it really hurts them.
Um, so I think I'll take the Lakers again and maybe give them Game four after they make one more adjustment or something.
But after that, I'd say it's probably over.
They just need to face elimination every time they're playing.
And then they played right play better.
So that Z that's that's that diesel.
Thank you so much for the tip.
We're raking it in today, I guess.
So yeah, for me, I'm gonna take Well, you know what? I wanna always pick the Lakers but I'm gonna give the Nuggets this Game three.
Just have a change of pace here.
I think, honestly, though, they're gonna, um, Jamal Murray has been through so much from just a general adversity thing, he said. Nuggets and six.
E way can't rule it out.
We can't rule it out, but that would be, you know, much, much worse than the Clippers.
Uh, can you first, Let's just imagine that.
Let's imagine the Nuggets one in six.
Um, who gets the bigger acts on social media? Twitter specifically between the Clippers and the Lakers? LeBron James Okay, Yeah, we'll do individual.
Sure, Yeah, well, either way, it's Bron.
Like every person who's ever been a fan of Michael Jordan on Twitter will be clowning him for two straight weeks like yeah, yeah, because they would put that And they would love that in with, like, the Dallas series in 2011.
The same thing in the same it.
So it would just be total like it would be completely perpetuates where they will just never let him hear the end of it and and even they're starting to, you know, even with everyone saying, Oh, Anthony Davis is carrying the Lakers to the playoffs.
It's like, Well, okay, that's not entirely true.
I see what you're saying with the shot, Um, and more blame should fall in need to Yeah, I agree, because you know, he's that defensive player of the year candidate.
If he's going to show that he was snubbed for, you know, losing Yanis, which you know that's not the case, because Yanis is clear.
Uh, I'm Bucks bias here, guys that are watching so the you know that's but he's still a very good defender.
So if you let Yokich score like you know, I'd say If your kid gets 30 in any one of these games, you know that's a problem, because unless unless he's in foul trouble or something Where, uh, but again, the Nuggets, that was their big problem was they were in so much foul trouble in that Game one.
And you just can't operate when you have three files on your top three guys, I'm gonna I'm gonna put Paul Millsap is their number three guy.
You know, you could debate me if I'm wrong, but that's from an overall standpoint.
Veteran standpoint. That's he's your number three.
Um, regardless of his like age capacity, with how many minutes he can play having three.
Those guys with 3002nd quarter sucks.
Um, and you know, that's just you have to be more discipline.
Yeah, there's some questionable calls.
Always. There's always gonna be questionable calls.
Um, it's a matter of Can you adjust? Can you Can you play without fouling? So that's gonna be a key moving forward.
I think you know, you have to give it up to Alex Caruso to a zoo.
Muchas people don't like which me included.
I don't like hearing talking about him so much.
He's a bald spot in a dunk or two.
That's that one where he snuck it by.
Did he sneak it by Jeremy Grant.
Remember who that was on the fast break by himself? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that surprised that turned my head a little bit.
I was like, Wait, did that go in? Wait, what you don't like, but, you know, again, you have to give him credit.
He's a seasoned veteran as much as people say he's young, you know, he even going back to the A.
That's a double a tournament.
So I think it was Texas A and M, right? Yeah.
He was like that leader of that team.
So, um, but yeah, I guess.
Before we get out of here, we can enjoy our 50th anniversary of Monday night football.
Any any final thoughts? It could be about anything.
We don't weaken, just jump out of the playoffs.
Anything little, um, Gerson Roses.
If you receive this trade, the number one pick for for a superstar, you know, and any superstar in mind, uh, Kevin Burton would be cool.
Ben Simmons would be fine because Ben Simmons, uh, Ben Simmons is, you know, he's a perfect fit with Karl Anthony towns, and that pick and pop duo would be unstoppable.
So I'd like to see that.
That's why I had I had to bring my temples up at some point, because that's really what I'm best.
It's been a while since you've been able to talk to him.
You know, talk about E.
I can't like for wolves lead on Twitter like there's nothing going on.
You can't because I don't know what to talk about except Anthony Edwards and LaBella Ball and hopefully not James Wiseman.
Who? Which bus they're going to take? Yeah, right.
Which which? Andrew Wiggins 2.
0 is coming next.
You're Anthony Bennett.
Don't, Okay? I'm better than that.
James, Answer your question.
Yes, it is Ryan Braun.
And that is Aaron Rodgers.
See, I'm always turned around here. That is Aaron Rodgers on the left.
Rogers Right here.
I think he threw out the first pitch or something in this game.
Um, that was, like, a long time ago.
That was when they're really good friends.
And then the whole steroid issue.
I think they, um you know, they just you know, I don't know if that they might still be friends.
I don't know, but they had they had a restaurant that they open together at some point called the 8 12 or the 12 8 something I don't remember.
I don't even know if it's still in business.
But that was, you know, they were good friends.
Just because that Wisconsin M v p connection and and who knows? Ryan brought forever.
I don't know if you're a big Wisconsin sports guy, as a whole explorers.
Yeah, it is your close, your nearby.
I forget I was forgetting You're, like, right over the border.
So that's Ah, you know, Bucks air killing me right now, but packers to know.
Go Vikings, right? I don't like you anymore.
We're not friends.
I just you know, e was looking at fantasy football.
Um, and I saw her cousin.
Unfortunately, he was on my oppositions bench, I saw was, like, negative three points.
What the hell is going on? Like third quarter? And I saw he was like, uh, man, it was just bad.
What was he like? Three for you had a passer rating of two passer rating of two.
And with three picks, he was just like he threw for 60 yards or something late in the game.
I don't need to, like, continue to go down and I defend Kirk cousins like nobody else.
And was it was it on him? Was it really on him? Most of the time? It's not.
And yesterday it wasn't totally his fault.
But yesterday was really bad.
Eyes this, like this digs change any of that or no, no, a za Muchas I As much as that sounds like me being in denial, Uh, I think it's a lot of offensive line and play calling issues more than anything else.
Because if you if you saw the video DeForest Buckner actually through our right guard the other day, like five yards in the air on Ben hit Kirk Cousins so already couldn't see straight.
So it's not totally Kirk's fault.
But yesterday was very, very bad.
See, I I just heard Anthony Bar got hurt and was thinking, Well, well, he's out of the year, so that's cool.
Well, that Z what goes around comes around, I guess, Yeah, I don't I don't ever like injuries, but that one in particular is, uh I am not like I don't feel bad, I guess, is what I'm trying to say s Oh, yeah, I just I hope that people that are watching this don't think I'm like a jerk or anything, but that's just coming full circle on something where you know that's knocking him out of the season.
Aaron Rodgers I'm talking about from the play that just is is pretty inexcusable and gets you ejected at this point.
I mean, we saw somebody got ejected yesterday.
I can't remember who it was.
It was a helmet to helmet it, Uh, shoot.
I want to say it was in the three o'clock game, but I don't either way, but there's you're starting to see them crackdown.
And even with tell, just just injury ridden the debt week to was I mean, e I don't know if you saw the m r.
I machine in San Francisco broke so they that was that was the highlight of the day sitting that m r I machine broke out for season eso already that's gonna do it for us.
You find myself at Eric TLS m on Twitter, find Kamut cam T l s M on Twitter and Cameron's the Timberwolves branch of our lead sports media.
AT T Wolves lead.
I run the Buxley branch at Buck's lead, and that's gonna do it for us. Thanks for watching.
See you next time
