see if this works choppy last week.
So see, we got, um All right, we're live a way for people to come in.
Logan, we're gonna hope you're doing well.
Um, this was this was Ah, this was watchable for about 1/4.
Got some stats pulled up.
We're just gonna kind of wait for everything to wind down before we get into this.
Um, before I say anything about the game, my goodness, look pale today.
Not that I'm not, but, um, let me just say this about these nets.
Um, first off, it was so nice to take notes on a basketball game and just, I don't know, have things to describe.
And and, uh, then you were coming in for your lunch break.
I appreciate that.
Logan. What's up, Hunter? Good to be back.
They did not lose by 30.
A little run at the end.
That kind of missed that.
I was setting up my streaming stuff, so, um, but yeah, I mean, it was nice to take notes and have little things to go through film wise.
I don't know what I'm gonna do with all this film, but, uh, but in terms of actually having stuff to write about? Yeah, there's gonna be a little bit.
I'm sure I'll make something of all this.
You know, this Nets team is not very good.
It's not a great Nets team.
Look, here's the thing.
I'm gonna I'm gonna go through a couple of notes that I have, and then I'll take random questions.
Hot takes whatever you really got.
Um, here's the thing about these Nets.
Things that really liked was the chemistry.
And this is not a nuance take or anything like that.
But the chemistry between Jared Allen and Caris Levert hearken back to the very early days of these two guys.
I think, really? When, like, you know, uh, Jared Allen was in his rookie season, just a really nice look for them to have that going.
That's the thing that really, really impressed me with caress today.
We all know what he can do.
The mid range shooting is a really nice touch to his game, but I do love seeing that play making from him.
It's a skill that I know he has deep down.
But, man, when his offense is flowing like that, um, it really does make it easier to involve everybody around him.
Here's the thing.
The shooting night, If you look at it, I believe he was seven for 17 with 17 points.
He's got a big load to account for.
And, um and you see that on defense.
I mean, look, I'm not gonna kill anybody for defense of rotations or whatever in this bubble, because again, it's a unique situation with these guys.
Haven't played in four months, and it's not a real roster.
Let's be honest, but I have to say some of these clothes out and some of the defense that I saw around screens, especially in the pick and roll, was tough.
I mean, out and in the transition d I think I tweeted about it.
Um, it was tough to Ah, it was tough to stomach at certain points.
Ah, once again, did did really enjoy Tyler Johnson's energy.
I like that mid range pull up that he's got in his ****nal.
I'm gonna go back and re watch like a lot of you guys defense of stuff.
I don't catch everything on the first watch, so if I go back, I'm gonna see stuff.
But the biggest thing I noticed with him is just a little bit of a lack of size.
I remember there were moments where my Michael Carter Williams was taking him to the basket.
Now I know that's what he does well, but still, um, you know, it's it's not ideal, I guess.
So let me take some questions and then I'll go through a few more notes and then we'll close this out.
We'll see how busy this is gonna be today.
I've got a nice little crowd in here.
TLC the third stock.
So I missed all of that, man, I missed every bit of that of that.
Come back there. I was setting everything up.
So I guess I'll have to go back and watch that I know my guy, Jack.
Men will, uh, is going to be thrown together.
Ah, breakdown of TLC.
So I'll retweet that and watch that catch up via I guess his breakdown.
Um, Temple is the biggest waste of ah, of a spot on the roster, but I've ever seen.
Here's the thing about Garrett Temple.
Yes, the offense comes and goes, um, he's once again kind of overtaxed in terms of what you're looking for from him.
He should probably really be just a spot up guy.
But I will say this man, that guy competes defensively, and it's so, so, so noticeable, especially with this Nets roster around him.
He's just like the only guy that can, uh, that can really stay with.
Like if a guy's coming around a double screen on on the other team, um, it's It's He's really the only guy that can stay with just about anybody.
So he stuck out to me that way.
I guess the things that he adds on the floor are not always easy to see for me especially.
But I will say, Yeah, like the offense is it's a little that comes and goes, Um, John, good to see you.
Uh, Dante Hall show good Hessel at the end of the floor.
So I My dog is shaking this table.
Um So here's the thing.
Dante Hall is Ah, really energy guy.
I just haven't watched him.
I don't watch a lot of G league ball.
I think Chris Mulholland would be the guy you want to refer to on that sort of side of things for Nets daily.
But yes, um, he's a He's a riel riel hustler scraps for those second chance opportunities.
I mean, look, he's he's really shooting to make it in this league.
So a guy like Dante Hall that brings a lot of energy already looking for that nb a opportunity is going to be going balls to the wall.
There was a play at the very end that I caught where he must have skied for three offensive boards and then actually was able to hit it off.
I think it was D. J. Augustine.
I could be wrong about that.
That might have not who had been, but it was.
It was him or full.
It's one of the guards on Orlando, and he was able to hit it off him and and, uh, and almost, you know, results in a turnover.
I don't think it fully went out of bounds, but yeah, I liked his impact tonight.
I'm curious to see him or think you should be an integral part of the rotation.
You know, as much as I like cool rocks and I like the idea of him at the five.
It came Birch was kind of giving him the business for a little bit.
And that's actually when things really start to get out of hand with this game.
So I do think Dante Hall deserves a longer look that I thought he was. Impressive.
Um, what we got here? Kerry says to hit some three.
Same which he owes it.
I've said I've said it before.
I've written about this.
I don't think we're gonna learn much about what he looks like next to Kyrie and Katie.
From this from this restart, I really don't.
His biggest things he needs to work on in terms of fitting next to those guys, our defense and three point shooting off the catch.
And we haven't learned anything about those two because the ball is in his hands at all times.
So as exciting it is to see him grow as a mid range scorer and feel very comfortable.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to gain out of it, necessarily.
And she owes a Yes.
I think the three point shot will keep him.
It will keep him in this league I hate to be that harsh about it, but that that's gotta start falling because he's undersized defensively and I love him as a pastor, But it's gotta happen.
Um, the Nets simply don't ever box out.
You'd think ever you'd think without size, you'd see more hustle for rebounds.
Um, this is tell Miss.
All right, my man, here is the thing.
I do agree that the boxing out is a little troubling.
Harkens back to that last play in a Lakers Clippers yesterday, where Reggie Jackson just didn't box out.
I'm not trying to make excuses, but they are very undersized and against a giant team like the Magic.
That's where you're going to really feel that.
Let me pull the stats right now to look at the rebounding discrepancy.
So the Magic 42 boards the Nets 39.
The Magic got 10.
So nothing out of hand.
But yeah, I do think you notice that a little bit.
Um, that's such a hope.
We really miss Prince.
You know, shot TV, um, comes and goes, you know, Temple of shooting less than 38% from the field this season, right? Yeah.
I mean, look, here's what I What I mean by that is that, you know, similar to what Temple was in the season.
I mean, I'm sure we can all remember this when Garrett Temple was like the de facto backup point guard when things were really, really ugly when there was no Caris.
Levert, no Kyrie Irving.
You know, Joe Harris was like the second option.
There were points in the in the season and I wrote about this and I was like, Look, it's not really his fault, but the Nets aren't exactly putting him in an advantageous position.
Um, yeah, I remember he was handling the ball shooting off the dribble.
E should really shouldn't be shooting too much off pull ups.
It's not a great way for him to score and be efficient.
And I I remember.
You must have been like a remember the stat.
It was like 1/5 percentile pick and roll ball hand.
There was something like, really, really tough to look at.
Uh, yeah, I mean, look for him.
He's not a great shooter.
He's never been a great shooter.
But I will say with a little more talent around him.
It might look different, but I guess we'll see.
I do like the little things he brings, though, and, uh, you know, can't get too down on any of this stuff with these nets.
I have no idea what Crawford will bring because I feel like offense wasn't that bad today.
Yeah, I actually was surprised.
I thought the creation was pretty pretty decent.
Like they moved the ball.
Well, let me say this about coach fun.
I like his sets.
A really, like it sets.
There's some interesting stuff, but a little bit of Spain pick and roll that I saw.
They were They were doing different things with screeners.
It wasn't just traditional pick and roll the entire time.
Um, you know, having guys screened for each other before they set that on ball pick.
Um, you know, really nice stuff.
Really, really nice stuff there.
And, uh, the defense I wasn't as impressed with I actually would have liked to have seen a little more zone since.
That's where the league really appears To be trending doesn't mean it's necessarily a good thing, but I personally think it would be a a little bit easier to hide.
Some of these guys, They just don't rotate that well.
And they don't switch that well because they don't really know how to play together.
So putting them in Amanda man situation really, really shows those flaws with not quite feeling comfortable with each other.
I'm sorry, guys.
I'm trying to catch up with all these messages.
Maybe I'll do the thing where I don't answer things as ah to sink too late this time because I'm I don't feel bad about that.
Ah, these nets are going to get babied by these lineups.
This is off at off the glass.
Um, I'm assuming you just mean with size.
I mean, even like the magic's guards are larger than the Nets carpets like it wasn't just a front court thing.
It's just across that roster.
That's a giant team, not a great matchup for the Nets.
That really never has been, um, so I I, you know again can get too down on this stuff.
They're at a disadvantage because of roster construction, not just in terms of talent, but also in terms of what they can throw out there.
They're forced to play small ball in a league that, by the way, gets larger and larger and larger.
That's something that you need to keep mind if you look at the way the Lakers were yesterday.
That's a giant team.
Even if you're looking at somebody like Kyle Kuzma are Danny Green.
Those are big players, like you've got to get guys that can size up a little bit.
You know, there were points where the Clippers look small.
They really did, Um, So the nets need to address that next year.
And you know, as much as I love the small ball stuff a times, um, versus ality is the name of the game who we got a lot today.
Appreciate you guys.
We're keeping this Dare I say it lit? Hate that.
I just use that word seriously, But this Chad is crazy today.
Um, imagine the Nets against the Nuggets.
Are you talking about the Reese? The scrimmage nuggets? Yeah, that's good, because you see a roster with Joe Harris back in full strength.
See, here's what I don't understand is why you'd let him go for nothing.
So here's the thing.
Like even if you say Hey, Joe Harris you know, it's not the guy he doesn't fit in.
We have guys that do the same thing.
I don't agree with that.
But even if they came to that decision, I'd still him in favor of bring him back under his bird rights and try to use him.
And and, I guess, like a trade package, something like that, like there's no point in letting the asset goto waste.
So that's personally I don't see the point in letting him just walk for nothing ever.
I never believe in that.
Like, always retained the asset You can peas.
He's something that a lot of teams like you.
Look, you look at how a lot of these teams are approaching the Aussies and the Knicks are interested in him.
Or at least people that cover the Knicks have thrown him in there.
Uh, so that's my guy, John John Makary.
Um you know, the Hawks have I've seen a little bit in the Hawks world of things that he'd be a good fit, like he's somebody that, um, teams would be that I think teams will be chasing after, so you might as well retain it.
I'm assuming This is a proposed rotation by my guy Hunter Johnson Levert, Paris corks.
Allen chose a temple Anderson who? I didn't see too much today.
But I'll take your word on it.
Thomas, Uh, I don't know about this is cool Looks.
I'm trying to think of you if you've left anybody off their I guess not.
Um, yeah, Thomas.
Lance Thomas is not moving his feet whilst.
And then Hall who I like. Yeah.
Okay, I can see that rotation.
I'm trying to think of any flaws I might have with that, but I can't think of any right now, but come back to me.
I think TLC Maybe if he's playing while you can switch him or Thomas.
So whoever's playing better, I don't love him playing the four.
So maybe you have Anderson played a four and then TLC play the three, and you just go with whoever's hotter.
I guess, um can't fight through screens.
Orlando had known.
Ah, wide open threes.
Uh, tell Miss, I I do agree.
Here's the thing.
So the thing that I hated was just how much they weren't getting back on on D.
And I get it like you're at a disadvantage.
It's a young team.
Young teams typically aren't very good at transition D, but it still hurts to watch, like, get back, get back and try to match up.
It wasn't even that they weren't getting back.
It's just the issue of matching up.
That's the part that really seemed to hurt today.
And I expect that to remain, by the way, Um, good gosh are terrible.
Defense drove me nuts in the first quarter.
Didn't get better, Um, uses out on on temple.
I know you're out on him on me.
I'm not super I on Temple personally, I like him.
I mean, just I use a a great human being off the floor.
Not that, you know, I think that stuff matters, but, um, yeah, there are moments.
He just like the three point shooting, is the thing that, like, comes and goes, but, you know, is it ease? Fine.
Is 1/9 10th man, something like that.
I can't get too mad about it, But he should not be your you know, seventh or eighth in your rotation.
We also got free roadie Oh, I appreciate that.
Tell Miss my saying your name correct, cause if I'm I'm cereal name mispronounce er, it's not a good habit.
I used to work in sales.
I think a lot of you guys know this, but I used to work in sales and I would call cold Call people.
And let me tell you right now, you know it's not dope for a cold call is when you just have an issue with butchering people's names and like your instant reaction.
Or I guess your instant intuition is to try and sounded L.
But you do it poorly.
It's not a good look, so I really apologize for that. I hate doing that.
And, uh, let me know if I'm saying that right below or if that's even your name.
If it's just a different Twitter name, let me know that as well, because I know we have repeating people in here, so I do want to make sure I'm doing everything justice much more variety than Kenny.
Ah, yeah, in terms of If you're talking about his offense, I agree.
The mid range shooting is a nice look.
I think that as the league progresses more and more.
I think you're going to see less and less of what the Rockets are doing.
And mawr of that well versed.
Totally balanced, I guess.
Action on the floor.
I'd love to see a little bit more action out of the post.
Remember, they played caress out of the post.
I think that was in the third quarter.
They, you know, dumped it to him.
And then they had Harris come around a curl on the weak side.
It might have even been off like a double screen.
And Ah, that was a nice little bit of action right there.
I don't think Harris made the shot, but I like that stuff.
If I do something film related, you can bet your bottom dollar that'll be in there.
Um, there seems to be too much dribble drive panic in the offense.
It's making bad players look worse.
I didn't see that today personally.
Um, yeah, I didn't see that, but maybe I missed that.
And that is doe fee travels.
Let me know what you mean by that, cause I'm curious.
Maybe one of the few, but I think she owes is overrated.
OK, speed and passing, but bad score.
Twitter never changed.
I mean, three point shooting has always been the thing that's going to keep him in the league.
He's undersized, so defensively it doesn't always look great.
But that doesn't always matter when you're his height, Um, but the plane, you know, the way he finds teammates is really special.
I stand by that, but it's always been an issue of Kenny hit threes because it's admittedly been really inconsistent in the D League.
But I'm already just be out on him because of one like he does have legitimate nb a skills.
So a man and that's sort or kills me.
Ah, you should have just had J.
What's up? Mark J.
Gaarde? Ah, Aaron Gordon So he could sit in the paint? Yes, so here's the problem with that.
So I was wondering because it's weird that that magic offense like, because of virtue ethics ability to theoretically space because they have so little shooting on that team outside of Terrence Ross.
So I think shoots every time he gets the ball in his hands and Evan Fournier, who's a just legit good.
They sit him on the three point line quite a bit, so I almost was like, Should you put a smaller guy on through traffic and and let Jared Oh, Alan, Roman, the paint.
Now the issue is, if Vukovic gets the ball at the top of the key or on the wing, he can take it down to the post and bully whoever whoever the Nets have on him.
Yes, maybe they can switch or they can brings out Jared Allen over to help.
But then you're leaving the weak side open.
So it's not an easy, not an easy decision for the Nets overall there in a tricky situation with the lack of size.
And as I've said over and over and over, there is a reason why all of us that cover this team, that I guess root for this team was like, Hey, they need a center.
And maybe Dante Hall is that guy, but it's still little understaffed.
Sereno, um, for the magic would like to have Joe Harris. That's interesting.
Every team's gonna want Joe Harris.
I'm telling you, um, my goodness, I'm so behind trying, say maybe teal c.
Yeah, TLC Hunter for your rotation.
Shouldn't should I think get a look, though I will say this when he's not shooting it well, it's got a tough to keep him in the game, cause, uh, that's that's what he's there for.
Offensively, at least, Kurek seems to come up the bench.
Appreciate you, Frank, for popping in, Um, you know? Yeah.
I mean, maybe you keep rodeo off the bench and you try to, like, size up a little bit that way, but I just don't Who's the four in the starting lineup? I think he's probably their best power for it.
I will say the alignment of him and Jared Allen isn't.
I don't find it to be a particularly great look for him just because Jared Allen is kind of parked in the paint the entire time.
So when you have Rohde, who likes to, you know, either shoot off the catch or shoot and or pump fake, I should say and drive to the cup.
The problem is, is you already have a secondary defender sitting right there, parked in that spot, guarding Jared out, who realistically is not a giant offensive threat who could just come over and and, you know, again help as a secondary defender on roadies.
So it's a little crowded.
I don't love it, but I probably just need to see a little more off it.
Harris hits two threes a game, gives up five on the on the end.
I disagree with that take.
I think he's worth retaining, but, you know, and I think he competes defensively.
I just like he's not the quickest guy, So it doesn't look.
There was one play where he was doing.
He was doing circles.
I'm going to go find that clip, Not maybe not today, because we got a lot of games that I do want to watch.
But yeah, there there was player, Always like Man Joe here is getting spun around here.
But I I don't agree with that on Joe Harris.
Levert seem to struggle with Fornier on the defensive end.
That's for **** sure.
My goodness, So it was especially in transition.
I mean, I've mentioned Transition D quite a bit.
It's it's one thing if it's a bunch of young guys struggling with transition, but to see you know Caris, Levert who has been on the team for a couple years, really not get back and match up.
Well, that's that.
I don't look, I know he's doing a lot on offense, but, like, you know, it's It just kind of hurts to see him not match up at all.
And And just, you know, basically, if if Evan Fournier gets into the corner to give up on the play, not great and again because you got to think about this In a way, yes, it is an audition to see what his star ceiling is like.
But it also for me, selfishly, I'm looking at this as an audition to see what it looks like for him to be 1/3 option next to a a.
Kyrie and Katie.
So those little things matter.
They're gonna have to next year because those guys, they're gonna be doing a majority of the score.
I think that's Twitter.
Should all chip in and by didn't win.
He's ticket to Florida.
Does he want to come to Florida? A missed onus.
So when in mind bringing caress off the bench and play a real three and to guard Yeah, I've been in the way, isn't that I mean, so I don't mind starting caress next to Kyrie.
And what I would do is kind of do what the, uh What? I guess the jazz I wrote about this in a, uh, in my what was that? My, um, male back? All you know, I kind of detailed.
I was like, Look, if they're gonna play him next to Kyrie, I would actually like to see them split their minutes up a little bit so that Paris is like a really early sub.
And you do what Utah has been doing for the most part with Mike Conley, and you have him run the offense on his own.
So he feels like he's getting his touches, getting his guys involved.
Especially if Jared Allen is coming off the bench next year.
And that way you could make that work a little bit.
What that does involve is that yes, you need a very nice defensive guard on that Brooklyn bench.
Who's gonna play a good amount of minutes on that part? Is tricky.
Crazy today, Jamal Crawford for 48 minutes. Next game.
You know, he hasn't been playing because of conditioning, right? Ah, even don't hurt this man.
Terrence Ross was not as dominant.
All set. Let me tell you this I'm not.
I'm not a Terrence Ross guy.
Personally, he did not have that great of a year like it's he is God.
Talk about a sinker swim player.
I'm telling you, that guy shoots every time.
So when it's not fallen for him, it's It's not a great experience.
There's a place for guys like that in the league, and he can shoot from long range.
But, um, on this magic team, where there's no spacing in the first place, it's an interesting experience.
The Terrence Ross alone.
It's a bumpy ride.
Ah, I mean, caress was pretty good on D before the stoppage and merge in March.
Yeah, I agree, and I think that's a little different.
Um, he's playing on a different roster now, and whether he realizes it or not, there may be something in his is his subconscious where Hey, you know what this team is Probably not gonna, you know, win.
It's on the games, so maybe I'll take a little bit easy on the defensive side of the floor.
and and really rev up on offense.
I wouldn't blame him if he did that. I really would.
It, um All right, this was good.
I'll take a few more questions.
Um, I gotta get ready for this Celtics box game.
Who else is watching games tonight or this afternoon? I'm excited.
Depends on where I guess you are in the world.
I'm really excited, man.
Um, I'm having a having a body over for this Bucks Celtics game.
Um, which would be nice.
He's a Celtics fan.
So on and then, yeah, the Mavs Rockets game will be fun.
We get, like, Hardin versus hard in junior in Lucca.
But now I don't It will be fun.
I'm excited for these games.
Yankees at seven.
Keith, you know I don't watch baseball.
I've heard they're playing well.
Are they playing my O's again? Aaron? Judge was crushing the Orioles yesterday.
I'm from Baltimore originally.
So which I know is that, Mr, Because everybody thinks I'm from Minnesota because the t wolves mean, but yeah, I'm from Baltimore originally.
So that's why I'm not particularly interested in baseball.
Tough, tough upbringing with them.
Um Kyrie Spencer Care.
Oh, this is for next year's rotation.
Kyrie Spencer caress Harris Prince Katie Couric's deejay out.
Here's my thing.
They need another defender in that group.
I think I think Katie is the best defender in any of those players that you just named, maybe other than Alan.
Um, but that's a little problematic for me because he is coming off a pretty severe injury.
They need to bring somebody else in, ease things a little bit for him, and it would be nice to give Kyrie another, you know, a bit of a Band Aid on defense Celtics bucks.
I'm from Holland dope.
This is it's so weird to me, you know? So I'm doing this from my home like I always do.
And a it's weird to me that people, you know, that I'm not just talking to a camera and nobody is watching and will be to think about that.
This is international right now is crazy.
So thank you for hopping on open, doing an OK job answering your questions.
Um and yeah, man, thats don't appreciate that.
And yes, do it even for me.
For axis not gonna watch until 6 a.m.
for the second consecutive day.
Do it even for me.
I was like Then we got these games all set up to be, like retrofitted for Eastern Conference there, Eastern Standard Time, where it starts at nine.
It's was still up the 1:32 a.m.
And I was like, man, even when they Ah, they make it easier for me on this on this side of the country I'm still a plate cause of basketball thanks to Scott Foster calling 10 million foul calls in that first half of Lakers Clippers.
But that's for a different.
It's driving me crazy.
I couldn't tell what this these chats are gonna be.
It's just gonna be proposed rotations.
I'm just gonna be doing this every day.
Uh, it's good, though.
I love I'm so happy to have basketball discussion back and, like, not just be hashing out, uh, whatever.
Brad Beal trade packages over and over and over.
It's so nice, man.
It really is Kyrie lover Katy Allen Dinwiddie Uh, who else deserves or guaranteed roster spot? I think you'd have to do a bit of a trade.
Oh, pooches live right now There we are.
We're all over the place today.
We're all going live.
All right? I'll let you guys go get over to that when I got to go do a quick podcast.
But with all that, I'll read these last two comments.
I'm signing off Drew Holiday.
I don't know what to give up God to him.
He look good yesterday, huh? Man? On a quick quickly on this one.
Probably gonna involve caress.
Probably Jared Allen, right? I think you'd want those two pair together just with this energy that they have.
Not sure if they need Caris.
Eso I don't know if they have the right package, but it would.
It would include something like that.
I'd assume, though, that they'd want the Drew holiday replacement.
That's, you know, somebody who's gonna play defense, dive for loose balls and just insulate the skill sets of Ingram.
Zion, who's got it really got a get in shape but be improved defensively.
And then Lonzo, who was a little a little up and down and still what I mean to say is I don't think the pelican should trade drooling.
I don't know why they would do that because he's like the perfect fit for that team.
Ah, what else we got was she goes unnoticed.
Pest pesky defensively today.
Okay, I'll answer this last one and then I'm gone.
I always under doing this.
I end up staying an extra 10 minutes.
Really, really quick.
Remember, this is a team of big guards, this magic team.
So the stuff that he can't necessarily control, i e.
His size is going to be especially apparent.
It's going to be, and it's it's It's something they have to figure out, and he has to figure out, and I think it's pretty much his biggest down side.
You see him defend against somebody like, you know, like a Kemba Walker in that Boston game.
