My name did your mood, and I'm here with my codes hunting buddies.
And today is a new step.
Totesport Stocks central.
So, um, so we're going to talk about MLB at fell Virginia Tech recruiting and if 100 wants to, um, bring up hockey for Kim. Manage.
But we'll do that Are so 100 years the world wants baseball.
Um, we can do that.
We can do whatever we can do.
I guess we can just start with that.
Since I was probably the biggest news of the week.
Besides the Cardinals, Siri's getting postponing today because apparently there was another.
Um well, the president s that.
I think they were postponing that for whatever.
And then there's another positive test for the moms.
I guess you just get onto the Joe Kelly thing.
We were talking about earlier in the week.
Any support anyone throwing it someone's hand? I think that it's a joke.
People do matter just stupid.
I know the Asher's cheated Teoh, and none of them really got punished for it that just the team did in general.
But on I do think, however, that eight games for it is a bit harsh because I think Ken Rosenthal said 162 game season.
That's like 2025 almost 30 game suspension.
It's a little a little much, you know, eight out of 60 games.
That's one almost 1/6 of your season.
Yeah, I'm not a math major, that's for sure.
But, um, yeah, I just I would have done maybe four games, but I think eight is a little too much.
But I know you wanted to touch on.
You know, people being hypocritical of the Astros and science inalienable, that solid.
She just do into that? Yeah, no.
So, basically, for those who don't know the history of baseball, and you really have to look at it like in 90 and innocents through, you could check this through interview than autobiographies like Team for Stealing Signs like in the 20th.
Like also history, like in the 20 entry like um, like, I'll just give you a brief history of it.
So, like the first thing is is like you sending players into the stands with binoculars and others like there's a Filic there.
The Phillies catcher who play, I think, 20 games in three seasons.
But he would often sit into stands like with binocular than he would buzz.
He would use buzzers to indicate the pitches to third base coach, and the only reason that they were caught with because someone actually found like the fault wires.
Who's from where he was sitting to third base coach.
So a bunch of teams were doing that, and then binoculars turned in telescopes.
So you 2 1948 Cleveland Indians.
You had the 1951 San Francisco Giants they were using.
They were allegedly using telescopes, and I think the protocol was You don't reveal until 10 or 10 or 12 years later when everyone's not in baseball anymore.
And in the moment sixties, I think they may have admitted to do it using a telescope in 1948 Cleveland Indians who actually won the World Series so and in telescopes and let into a TV cameras, TV cameras and let into video replay camera.
And so for me, teams have been stealing signs for the last 150 years.
And if you listen to the writers and, um, people in baseball there's an era of paranoia, and the reason why there is apparent that there's paranoia is because people believe that everyone was trying to steal signs using especially 2014 through video replied.
So that's why you have to, like, always change your science.
People were using multiple signs, So my biggest problem with, um, the after just look, you don't cheat.
But the the hypocrisy is, and I'll say I'm guilty of it, too. Hunter.
You're probably guilty of this as well, where when a team that we're not following commits an infraction, we tend to think in more of it.
In a general sense, like sign stealing is bad.
They usually have their titles taken away.
But what we don't realize is when it comes back to our team, we get defensive.
So what we do is returned to return to push the goalpost back.
So then, um, we're not thinking black and white.
It's like, Oh, we're cheetahs.
Like, Oh, science King was cheating.
But then it becomes like the Astros won the World Series through through cheating.
So we don't punish the teams until and unless you want a World Series and then when, um, if it's so and then even if it's like the similar some type of situations, like you keep moving the goalposts back to close.
All right, the closer the news hit close to your team.
So it's a little hypocritical that, um that people are so upset about the Astros.
We know the Red Sox cheated like we know that happened.
We know that there's apparently in a letter for Major League Baseball to New York Yankees alleging of science dealing scheme.
We know that on.
And I think that because of the history and because baseball rewards and policing this type of stuff until 2017 was the Red Sox Yankees Apple walk incident with, um, sign stealing stuff, it's been going on, like just like, Do you think that it? Teams were doing this in the fifties and sixties and it wasn't being policed, and team that teams will be keep would keep doing this in 2014.
In 2015 when it wasn't being policed, it only gets heightened up now because the social media is such a big influence now on everything I think, right, even in 2014 15 there it was there, but I mean, it's not like it is now.
In 2020 there's so many more platforms.
And back then I think it was also may be easier to get away with it because I said it wasn't recorded his advanced yet with, like all the online and social media and everything.
So I will I will say that I also think when it comes to the overall suspension, they I read the release and they really well, Joe Kelly is like is like his tantrum or a crying on thing would played in.
Do it and it's like if you want to suspend someone for throwing him at the head, I think that's OK.
But to add on a game or two because, oh, he made a crying thing.
I think that's just baby weeks stuff like I mean, people get away with that and Little League baseball.
When you strike someone out, just making crying, face out them and you're really gonna add on a suspension to that.
It is just that kind of looked rub you the wrong way a little bit.
Yeah, I know. Yeah.
Any other comment on the suspension? What I think is because Joe Kelly a couple years ago through, I believe a Tyler Austin with the Yankees.
Um, when he was when Kelly was with the Red Sox and in that letter, bro.
But the point you just made a good but the problem that the problem that you just made, the point you just made is you.
For one thing, we're not playing in a pandemic.
They weren't playing pandemic like when the season started.
Major rob efforts that you do not don't get into brawls because of the close contact.
So you are yet comfortable idea of, like throwing out a guy like set like his antics.
But I think the reason got eight games, in my opinion, was he almost threw at Bradman's head? He almost he ain't he was targeting.
I don't know if he was targeting Caray and Gourriel, Um, but he almost hit both of those guys.
And then you had hand like his antics suggested that he wants to start a fight when Rob Manfred specifically told every single team, especially those playing the Astros, do not start a fight.
We're playing in a middle of a pandemic.
There's a big like we cannot literally we can't have suspension if you can't have injuries.
It just isn't It doesn't follow CDC guidelines.
Um, so to me, the outline environment had a lot to do with it.
Dave Roberts was suspended a game.
I think that head hunting is not.
It's never justified.
I mean personally, if Major League Baseball said something like starting next year, you throw it in, guys, OK, that's a 20 game suspension.
I'm cool with that.
We need to stop the unwritten rules of baseball.
I think that if you actually drill a guy in the head that that that once in my painting at least a 40 game suspension, at least 40 in a regular season, 40 games because you have to you have to really step.
You really have to stop team from doing this type of behavior.
Yeah, I mean, I thought I'm gonna look the same way with I agree with the other kind of the same way with hockey because what they're trying to get a lot of the young, the head shots out of the game with big hits and people just targeting people's heads because that still happens sometimes, and, um, the player, safety and That's what has never been really good with that.
Because you've run by a bunch of dinosaurs.
But overall, just to compare it back, I do agree with you.
Um, I think, you know, if you actually, like, intentionally hit someone in the head, I don't care what reason it is.
It should be at least almost 1/3 of the season.
So for me, um And I told me just a few more things and we'll talk about the Miami situation in the cardinal situation.
I think we can kind of, like, grouped us together, but for me, I don't um I think that for me, if you're gonna hit batters, you get, you hit him in the numbers or you him in the but you don't go up had you.
Don't go up high.
You don't go down low.
You aim at the numbers I have to save place to hit.
I also don't like the idea of hitting a guy like in a 30 count in its seven sending.
If you're going to hit a god, do it in the first few innings.
Just get it over with doing the first few innings, get it over with, and then you can deal.
And then and then you can just stop this stop to be stopped behavior.
Um, so let's talk about the next topic here, which is, um, the covert situation here.
So you see, the week started was basically Miami being some of the Miami players being idiots, and they were testing positive.
Um, and then now, today we had news that the Cardinals are brought to cancel your game.
What do you think that this? Do you think that we're going to finish the season? I'm no, honestly, so sure.
I think hockey and basketball definitely are, but and I know it.
Put that bead out this morning.
It would be so much easier if they were to somehow get a bubble with, like, 2 to 3 cities.
But I don't know if how realistic that could be.
It would have just made it so much easier because, you know, traveling across the country and hot spots, more hot spots.
And then I mean, of course, from Miami and me in Florida's I mean, the state of Florida has been a bunch of idiots that during this whole thing.
So I mean, I think if you honestly too late, pick a team that, like, somehow would get, like having of their first at the first outbreak of the team, that Marlins would honestly probably were up there for a lot of people to speak.
That's like Florida's, like such a big hot spot.
And and I boot socks, you know that.
They're probably not gonna playing for what makes another week now or something that 18 of 30 players have gotten napping, Heyman reported this morning.
I think it was another player.
Um, it's just there's too much travel, you know? People are just gonna be idiots, no matter what.
Um, I'm not so sure they're actually going to finish this.
What? What do you think? I think that I think they're going to try everything, everything that they can.
I think that if they have to go from, we're in Los record two winning percentage to determine the the division office.
They'll do that.
I mean, I do have doubts that even will And, um, I think it will have to be like the literally worst case in there, like multiple teams would have to do with the Dodgers on the Marlins were doing at the same time.
Um, because you just saw what happened last week.
It's like the Marlins got.
It's another Orioles can't play the Marlins and then But the Marlins? We're going to fill you So the Yankees couldn't play the Phillies.
So now the Orioles have to play.
Um, now that unfortunately, Orioles and Yankees, uh, orders and Yankees out to play each other fillies can't play for a while.
Marlins can't play for a while.
Nationals aren't playing this weekend.
I mean, it's a whole It's a mess.
That situation with the Cardinals.
I mean, same thing.
Um, I mean, I guess the good news is that only right now is Miami that it seemed like, I think, more than five players getting coverted.
I think every other situations maybe like one or two players, not like eight or nine.
Still, like they can go into a 60 man player pool and still get majorly cow other players.
And this is why I was I was really happy with the Orioles, like not getting most of their 60 man players.
Like most of the top guys like I like Adlai Rochman, who was the number one pick a couple years ago, but the guy finished 2019 in Low Able.
I don't want him like making his major league debut in the in this shortened 60 game season.
They have a couple guys like Grace and Rodriguez, who finished the season in April.
I don't want guys like came in the major leagues.
Even I get it like you don't want for a guy's per se, but I'll rather have four.
Guys were major league ready, right? And where you go, then, guys like prospects.
You may help you in like, five years, but you have to call on them because you need because you feel too many of your spots of your 60 man pool with those type of players.
So I mean, that's its I mean, so there's a lot of, like schedule thing and strategizing there, so and as a result of this yesterday they came up and will be in a P.
Actual human agreement was playing seven inning games doubleheader, so I think that's their one solution to all of this, which is okay.
What we understand that certain teams are going to not place a certain amount of game.
So if you just do seven inning doubleheaders, which, if I'm not mistaken when they were doing in negotiations that it was a part of the negotiations that was there, and now they get it, um, so me for me personally, I think that would that it? I think so.
I think they do.
They're doing all they can make it seem like a normal as possible.
I give him all the credit in the world.
Uh, I mean, we'll get into NFL, we'll get into college football and what this means for that.
But before that, um, I'm an Orioles fan.
Your Nationals fan.
I mean, uh, why you just talked with the Nationals for a little bit? Yeah.
The Nationals had a pretty slow start to the season of David Martinez.
Honestly, wasn't too thrilled with the 14 start, but, uh, it was a little weird yesterday.
I turned on the game, and apparently the Blue Jays were the home team at Nats Park because I think they were playing a couple home games there.
Them with what? Because in Buffalo, I think I don't think the Buffalo stadiums ready to go? Just, uh Okay.
Well, I guess that explains it.
So simply, we're seeing the Nationals have to make a save in the bottom of the ninth as opposed to the top of the ninth.
That was interesting, but the offense finally came along in the last couple days.
Max Scherzer had a really good start after not plant pitching really well against the Yankees.
But they're up 23 and four now, which is good.
I like I'm like making a strong Castro starting to bat a lot better, which is good.
He's been struggling a little bit of the plate.
Howie Kendrick is still Halle Kendrick one.
So should be back, I think next week.
Apparently he's been cleared.
He had a couple positive tests.
Why? I think he ****ed about positive, like, six or seven. Task.
It was like you need a todo.
I cannot speak today, but yeah, he had, like, six or seven negative test in a row, and now it looks like he's finally clear.
So thank God on that.
So he'll be back in line.
Everything will be hitting third, but yet they'll be off this weekend.
They're not going to Miami.
They had the player vote and all but one player basically said no.
So I'm curious to see who that one player was said, Yes, I love this.
But yet three and four start.
I mean, it's seven games, so we will continue to climb the standings.
I guess I'll let you talk about the Orioles now, though.
Sure, yeah. So the Orioles.
I mean, look, I'm like, I'll be honest with you.
I expect the Orioles to pick one or two next year's draft.
I mean, like anyone like Like Dennis accurately on.
Like he said, he thought, I feel bad for the announcers, like for the Orioles, like everyone, like all the Orioles friends were saying.
And he even the people we think we know were bad this year, like you don't have to tell us.
We know Wayne over bad this year.
We're playing like our goal is 2023.
Our goal is 2023 cause like richest, hoping you just want our prospects to develop.
This is a five or 67 year plan, so I mean, but to me, it's like can you at least be like pesky like I didn't expect us to beat the Yankees and either of the two games.
But can you at least keep asking? Can you leave to annoy the Yankees? And I think they did a very good job of it.
So I will tell you a few pointers.
I thought to have been surprising.
Jose Iglesias, who has been around the league.
He he's been deeply.
He's been really good, like he batted like 400 to start the season.
We know everyone knows how good of ah glow he is, but his bats kind of been improving.
Hansa, Roberto, He's doing pretty well so far.
I mean, it's the guy that hit 300 against lefties last year.
So and if you can average around to 80 to 85 I think I'll be good.
I don't know, Um, Riel release.
It's doing pretty good.
I mean, the guy's what he had four hits and three of them three home runs.
Um, so he's doing pretty good.
Me and any of anti Santan der who was like a Rule five guy a few years ago.
He's been pretty good, but The key here is because right now it looks like we're using a bunch of for a guy's while some of the guys need a few more couple for its development.
Um, but this season is really about seeing some of these guys who may make it past, uh, who may be on the team in a couple of years, because I'll be honest, like there's there's a bunch.
I'm not by any Jersey because I know there's a bunch of guys on this team that won't be on the roster like maybe even in September, like there's a bunch of guys I think that won't be on the roster.
Remember, it's like how many guys it's like.
It's like hunger games, Really.
It's like it might be like hunger games like how many guys will make it to the winning team.
Like even the Astros.
When they were bad out to being doused, Michael made it to the winning team, and he had Correa Bregman.
Uh, I think Springer with on some of the bad teams, but and when they're when they're competitive in 2023 or 2024 is what is what, um is what it's work.
They can be, um, John, Like John means very good.
Yesterday's game. Easy, Ace.
What I was really impressed with was the fact that so the guy that a couple a year ago through maybe May 92 93 miles an hour, maybe 94 bites and it was like working on with the pitching coach.
You have to work outs, curveball.
But Yankees yesterday he's throwing 90 *** a lot again.
Yeah, you throwing mid nineties.
He still had his breaking balls.
Looked a lot better.
I know he was dealing with arm fatigue, so he was only and he was They would want him to throw like 50 to 60 pitches.
So, really, it's just show.
Until, um, I was really happy with the fact he took two out of three from Boston yet lost the Yeah, um that really the first game with a disaster.
But baby Boston, 772 They beat um, next game 74 the Yankees 93 I mean, maybe it's like a bad game, but yesterday I was really impressed with the fact that John Means didn't have his best stuff.
He the Yankees went up five.
Nothing in the first inning, anything the bullpen den through like seven shutout innings, um, against the Yankees before Aaron judge its head like a three run home run.
So, really, it's like, Yeah, 86 doesn't look that good, but you to keep in mind.
The 1st 3 came in the ninth, and this is against really not so.
And this is really a World Series contending team.
First, a team that doesn't have a It's not very good.
The Yankees like seven shutout innings, And not only that, they were able to turn.
I've nothing lead.
And there, at one point pages of Arena, who it believes on National.
At some point he actually hit a two run home run in the eighth inning, which temporary gave him a 65 lead.
So you have to you have to be impressed with the Orioles.
The fact that against the with the Yankee were able they were able to overcome a 500.
I mean next weekend, and I mean, we have three against Tampa.
We have three against New York.
I don't know if we're, um so I mean, I think we're just lose.
We're definitely not gonna win a ton of games.
I'm just curious to see where refinished, because if we because going back and I'll just end with this point Like Like I said, we're gonna come probably compete in 2023.
Um, and we have two eyes on top.
100 were pictures, so I think we have the 35th best Prosper 3rd 36 Best prospect Creation. Rodriguez.
And who struck out at Singh over 1/3 of his batters.
And they got the idea that guy either left, you can throw like 95 96.
So he's kind of like Scott Cashmere type picture.
I wonder if next year's draft like next year's draft to top two guys a picture.
So, I mean, I'm just curious if we go if you finish in the top two and we take one of the guys from Sandra Bill and by 2023 24 we have our own homegrown version.
Uh, Strasbourg shares with Corbyn.
Now, the that that that that will be interesting.
That you asking that kind of trio? Um that we have? Did you want to go into the Jamal Adams trade and how? Yeah, yeah, let's we'll start with.
We'll start with that and then we'll go to, um, with the six Patriots opting out.
Yes, tomorrow. Adams.
I think we reported on a couple of episodes like Jamal Adams.
Want to get out of the New York.
So he was traded to Seattle for two first round picks, 1/3 and Bradley Bradley McDougall to just the ox pretty much.
Ah, where your thoughts on its trade.
Ah, my thoughts are that the Jets got a king's ransom for when I didn't think they could.
They absolutely, I think one that deal in a landslide.
I think small Adams is very good.
He's one of the best safeties in the lean, but I think that will give up a lot there.
They did not have to give up that much, in my opinion, but, um, and I think that they they saw told me to have a contract extension and he's gonna have to sign, so yeah, yeah, yeah, so that's going to be interesting.
But, I mean, the Jets really had no leverage here.
He wanted out, but they still were able to get that kind of package for, um, I usually dump on the Jets all the time because there's such a badly run organization, but wow.
I mean, that was that a heck of a return for one of the best starting safeties in the league of this? Your standing? You.
I'm pretty happy we got bigger Fitzpatrick, like the 16th overall pick because, like, what do your on were? I mean, you also to be fairly yeah dot My thoughts were that TV fare.
Seahawks don't pick that high.
So So you're talking you're talking about.
You're talking about a 28th overall pick like a 28th 29th overall type of deal.
So So that's why they have to give up.
That's why I feel like to see out like dogs had to give up that much.
Because if the Seahawks were like a talk like they were not good team and they're picking like they know I'm picking the top 15 then they wouldn't have to give up that much picks, because do you have to take in modern value? So, like, um, pic number 10 it's works.
It certainly a certain number of points, but pick number 28th worth less.
So you need to throw in some other picks to kind of balance out that equation.
So that's why I feel like, um, they were able to go and get tomorrow Adams for that.
That's why they able to get to first and third for small Adams.
I just Yeah, I just don't really interesting it, like they gave up their first round picks in both this.
Unite next year's photograph.
And then the year after that, Dan had to include the pick, and then they actually include a pretty decent player.
That's why I just think like it's a bit of an over pay.
In my opinion, I think players like Jamal Adams, but, like the Jets, had no leverage there.
So, like, I mean, how how are you giving up that when they have no leverage in that situation? It just It just makes me You just give this mule that, Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's what I want to go into the next thing, which is like, I don't think safety, they're worse that much.
I mean, I know I don't Jamal Adams is a really good player, but safety there in my pitting or not Wars.
Two first round picks, 1/3 and and in an NFL safety.
Like I said, I think that because of how good Seattle is, they had to give up the extra pieces than to a team that Waas like if I was gonna pick, like, 10th or 12th overall.
So that's why, um, I think that's a bit of an over bay.
Uh, what positions? Non to be positions Would you over pay for from now and I'll start for myself.
I would go left tackle and I would go, um, interior, pass, rush.
Yeah, I going somewhere on the offensive line and I think a defensive end.
To be honest, I'd honestly would over pay for defensive end, you know, something like a J J.
Watt or, uh um, you know, we've never liked the clear Mac trade like I would 100% overpaid for a player like that.
I think those were the two big ones that I would dio.
So now we're gonna talk about, um, we're going to kind of go back to the covitz situation here, um, much like how, when the NFL was major league baseball, we've had players opt out.
There's plenty of them.
Like Marqise Goodwin.
Ah, uh, some of the guys have opted out.
Um, but Patriot.
We had six patriots opt out, including Patrick Chung, Brandon Bolden.
Dont a Hightower.
So, basically, the Patriots next year are not gonna have Tom Brady.
They're not gonna have Gronkowski.
They're not gonna have Patrick shown.
They're not gonna have Golden.
You're not gonna have high our They're not gonna have Kyle Vinoy.
Because remember Calvin Noi in with the Dolphins.
So this is gonna be a really interesting Patriots team.
Everyone was probably thinking, you know, Bill Bella checks doing his little stealthy thing that he's just going to somehow Italy Bank for Lord Trevor.
Yeah, that the tank for the take recover, Lawrence.
Um, I'm sure, honestly, somehow still find a way to be a semi a competent, but I mean, that's a little think will make the plans, but yeah, I was surprised that they did have that many players opt out, but, I mean, I will also say this.
I'm never going to blame any player in any sport for opting out for any reason just because, you know, we're different time.
And I think any any person that kind of bluewings a player prompting outer is not at them can honestly just go kick rocks.
In my opinion, I get right back people.
But, yeah, that the teams want to look a lot different.
I'll just make one knows Ravens.
We had a color opt out of backup tackle.
I mean, and we're fine there, Um, but the other ones De'anthony Thomas, who I didn't think about like, Oh, it's not a big deal.
But then I realized we have we drafted a guy James Pro Shane, six round out of sm you.
This was a guy that drops maybe eight passes in four years.
He's very physical.
He was like a lot of people called him like a sleeper pick like this with the guy who was like 1/3 a fourth round talent they got in the sixth round.
I think that this helps him make the roster as a punt returner because I think that De'anthony Thomas waas a guy that you could make it.
You could make an argument because of its speed.
He could been a guy that would been pencilled into into that role.
But, I mean, I was thinking during one of his dealers, often yet what? Not yet, You know, you were thinking of people would be surprised if James Connor did, because what he's been, I don't really think he probably will.
But no one on the Steelers has said anything.
I think everyone reported for camp.
Or do you mind zeal for camp? I think just fine are so that Yeah.
So then, um, we'll go more to the cova discussion.
The training camps have started now.
I mean, I'm just I'll be really interested to see how those work, because if baseball's having trouble, the NFL's his college on the opposite and when it comes to contact.
So ah, do you think this season? Okay, I think it's season will start bottoms, and so I think it would be hard time for to finish for your thoughts.
Yeah, it's, We'll start, and they're gonna do everything in their power to get it to end between us.
You know, it's the NFL.
They it's too big for in this country.
I'm honestly not even sure he gets the full season.
I don't even know to.
The stadium is going to be interested in your people.
Keep saying there's going to be like maybe 25% would be in the state.
He was like, No, they will probably be playing without any fans at the NFL Stadium if baseball doing right now.
And they're gonna be going into what? October If they finish this, that's when the NFL is going.
And baseball's not be having any plans for about playoffs. For anything.
You'd be hard pressed to have fans in any fans in NFL games, so and I think they're going to start it like you said.
But I also agree.
I don't know if they're going to finish it there, and I think they released gonna do halfway there like 89 dates before they maybe call it quits.
Yeah, I mean, I think that, like I said, I think they'll do everything that they can.
I mean, I'm optimistic they'll finish.
I'm I would love to be optimistic.
Go finish the season.
I I think that, um if you're opt, hopefully we get hopefully there the vaccine that hopefully hopefully there the vaccine gets that gets developed.
Um, and they have, like a safer guidelines and all this other stuff running.
I think it for the playoffs.
I think they might do a bubble for the playoffs.
Like, if If there wasn't if you could dio if you if they there was a time you could do a bubble and and because one of the big things that baseball is your certain stadiums that don't meet, uh, that don't meet the, um, guidelines, uh, for Major League Baseball.
But you can go and use the college football stadium if you really wanted to.
So I think that, um, they hope that I would if I was the NFL.
I would hope that you could finish to go through an entire season, even if itwas with no fans and then for the playoffs, you could just just be safe.
You do a bubble.
I feel like, um so maybe you have, like, the A F c playing one place and use the cultural stadiums.
The NFC use another place you have that.
That would be how I would do it and depending what's called football, which called football.
I mean, we will be able to use its I mean so I think the bubble would be feasible in that situation.
I just don't think I'll be feasible in a regular season with that many football players, that much staff, that many teams, all in an area.
Yeah, that I think that would be probably the best thing to do is when the playoffs come.
You know, you just put the NFC teams in one place for the bubble, but the A C teams there.
You play all the games there while called divisional conference championship and then and if everywhere, you could do this people wherever.
But I'm sure it'll be without fans, so you can just have both.
You travel there, they can corn travel there being quarantined before you testing them, and then they can.
They can get the Super Bowl willing.
What I think that was, that would do you want to go into Ah VT.
Yeah, let's do so.
The season did come out after Virginie attack and our home games and I guess what they're doing is 10 games, um, in conference and one came out of conference.
But it'll be with the team in their states that probably like Liberty or Norfolk State or Old Dominion or something like that.
So our home team home games so far, we know it's Boston College, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina State and Virginia.
Our away team away games are at Duke, Louisville.
You would see pit and Wake Forest more your thoughts on those on those games of the season.
I do like the schedule on joint I me.
I saw George Attack is now out of Georgia is out.
So we're not playing man.
But in this condition, you see clubs and coming to Blacksburg without without any fans.
Let's give me a nice day for Trevor Lawrence and company, but, you know, maybe second potentially.
Do you think he opts out? Um, there's a chance, I think.
But I honestly have had a top five pick.
Like honestly, if he opt out, he still looking.
Picked in the top three or top five things.
He's the first quarterback I think, coming off.
But, um, yeah, he's still a top, I think I don't think he will, but I think if he does, no one's gonna bat an eye to with.
Everyone will understand to see See the top I picked on for attack, you know, we also what happened? Kate Varley, You know, very person that he did, but 100% understandable.
He's a 1st 2nd round pick on probably first round.
And also his mom could You got your mind.
His mom did pass away because of cancer.
So, like he said in that video, he didn't want to bring it.
Yeah, he didn't want his bring it back to its home again.
So I understand that, Um, I I'm gonna did slightly discreet you.
I don't think he's the first or second round pick automatically interest.
Maybe he's a second round pick.
I won't be Sharan pick because I think he has a talent into projection to be a first round pick.
Don't get me wrong for my issue with Kale.
Farley is really dead.
He has really won Battier and one really good year.
Like one really good year.
So I think some teams are going to go more for someone a little more experienced.
But I could see him being in the first round for self projection, so it's really more of projection.
First performance e.
I don't know this, but I think for that first year, because that was his first year playing the positions like you get to learn of any.
Yeah, I understand that.
I'm just putting me.
I'm just speaking from the perspective of like, GM like, because, like, you probably have, like, corners who are going to be.
You have, like, two or three years of experience.
You're going more of projection, it very high projection, Like, I think that if he hits his projection, you're talking about in 56 years, probably the best corner coming out of this year's draft.
Yes, so that's why I was saying like, That's where he gets picked.
I don't know, like he's definitely picked by date.
You like your team.
That's a There's somehow makes it to gay three.
I don't think a lot of things know what they're doing too young.
One day I would be.
I think what you know is W and, um, you'll be really interesting.
Yeah, so yeah, obviously it's like will be really interesting.
I mean, there's no there's no more pressure on Jermaine Waller.
I think there is more pressure on him.
Do you perform, especially with the schedule Yeah, he's a stud.
He's gonna have to ball out, cause I mean, I think he's going to be if he plays the way he did last season this season, if there is a season, Um what? I said that three times in a row.
But if you basically repeats it, I think he's also a potential first or second round pick.
Why? I think he's not good.
We also know, you know Armani Chapman is gonna have to step up.
Primary is probably the next guy there.
I think Chapman will probably store outside of yeah, since Chapman would start outside of wallet and Brian Murray would kind of go in and out.
Yeah, I agree with problem Dorian strong in the 2020.
And then we also have 2021 class we got.
We got some guys like PJ Harvey, Sean Asberry.
I'll be really cause Bisa telling crimes.
Three cost 5 to 2020.
So I'll be curious to see about.
And we know Nicholas Johnson, apparently from rolling pretty early, so I think not early enough to be a part of the season.
But you're talking about private some people with 2020 once I mean our cornerback? Gapped.
It's pretty good.
I mean, losing Kayla Farley is massive.
Um, did I think I like I said, I share dust out and in a previous episode like teams were more they should of teams would have made a better decision spiking the ball and then throwing in his direction.
But, um, yeah, I mean, I agree is you Losing him is really, really massive on that one.
I just want to go back to the schedule, like, What do you think? If this is just breaks off these 10 games, what do you think our record could be after these 10 games? I think it's somewhere like seven and three.
To be honest with you, I'm still not really, really high on this team.
And, of course, of the losses Clemson.
I mean, that's that's a here than I think.
Every pretty surprised, um, Louisville that that's that could be a lost potentially wiggle is gonna be tough, especially on the road.
U N C I'm not really sure, but like they can BBC they could beat Miami.
They convene NC state.
They could be u v a hitting.
I know they could be do I mean, it's just the big ones.
Clemson, Louisville and UNC.
In my opinion, I think the last link Weber, But 73 maybe better.
I saw Stewart Mandel let it go.
I think the writer had taken four and six.
That's mostly we're not gonna get No, no, that's Ah, there's no way they're French foreign ***.
I think you're right on that.
173 I think anyone reviewing six and four and eight and two, I think it's going to be somewhere in that range.
Um, Clemson, I would say at the los my, uh I Louisville, I think could be a loss.
Uh, try to think about is the swimming game.
You know, we don't know about that one.
That suspect go back and forth, right? Yes.
So, I mean, I could see Ah, I mean, the schedule definitely got tougher for us.
Like we definitely are scheduled.
Definite. Got more brutal.
But the simple question Let's say we beat Clemson, but, um Well, look, you see that Clinton is gonna be tough.
Okay, well, let's say a miracle happened, like similar toe similar to Ohio State in 2015.
Every beat Clemson.
But we lose one of these other games.
Which one? Um Now, which one would would, uh, which one do you think would happen? Like I think if we beat Clemson, we might, um But we've and we were to lose to one of these games teams.
Which one would you not feel the worst about? Linker.
That way, when we beat constantly be comes in both, Can it be and figure out? What can it be? Any team basically like that we would lose to that.
I mean, yeah, well, because I think Louisville is pretty good and that they're going to be pretty good this year.
Um, same with that's something I would like to be the rival teams, right? Yeah.
Are you still doing like, top team in Coastal Top team in Atlantic or the top just top two teams out to.
And of course, Notre Dame has to be in there because you know that they have the money and it's probably going to be a constant Notre Dame a C C championship unless something else happens.
Unless maybe we unless we have a really good record.
U N c we build something like that.
But it's Timmy Clemson and I think vs Notre Dame anyway, yeah, out, um, came out to sing the louse.
Now the big factories still doing coastal versus Atlantic.
Then I would have been I would have sacrificed a loss against, like, an NC stay Ash or Louisville.
Or like a team in the Atlantic where one hurt hurt us that much.
Um, I would definitely I mean, that's a tough on.
Know how I would answer it? Maybe I would say, Wait for it may be late for first thing.
Um, I didn't Don't I mean, I think that Virginia, I think we're gonna beat Virginia this year.
I think there's just, um we I think I'll be a revenge game e I wouldn't be shocked if we like if we keep if we keep piling on points and honestly in that game, Just you, Because And, um, we lost No, no, we didn't beat Boston College last year to be loose out while I was running.
That was the first game of the season.
Yeah. I would love to beat Boston College.
I mean, Miami just super arrogance.
I would love to be beat the break out of them.
Duke, I believe I want to beat Duke because that was an embarrassing moment.
Well, yeah, that was pretty pathetic.
They should hopefully wipe the floor with them and see state.
I'm living in C states that good.
Um, they should win.
I said they should win most of those, right? And of course, we're all off the end.
Of course, we're all talking about it as if there's going to be a season.
So, like, we're Penenberg pertaining.
Others going to complete season, which we're not We're not so certain is there? I don't think there may or may not be so.
We did talk about Kayla Farley opting out.
I don't think there is another.
Do not think so at the moment. No.
We're like, who do you want to the 11th game to be in ST? You know, I kind of wanted to B. J.
And you just shut their fan base up because, oh, they beat Virginia attack 10 years ago.
Um, so before we talk about Colin Donaldson, let's go bring up the receiver.
So we got the weight loss often committed attack a week ago.
Ah, he is our third.
Garber's here that committed in this in this class.
But what's really interesting is he.
He's our first lot receiver that we have because trade Cursory and Jalen Jones are outside God, I like the fact that we're getting multiple of receivers, multiple tight.
We're not just getting one type of guy.
If I think that Duwayne loft it did have 2000 and 9 2091 all purpose yards, I mean, And if you want to bring in Malachi Thomas like into this discussion as well, because Malaki Thomas had about almost 2900 all purpose yards.
So we were really, really getting a ton of playmakers on this offense.
Yeah, there's there.
Those were achieved.
Big time commits, it said, were that Now Thomas has not been lated by 247 with all those stats that I think they're going to be hitting him in the next update, and I think he's going to be a high three star, mostly forestall possible.
I would Yeah, I would say it please.
85 I think point between 25.
89 Like somewhere around that range? Yeah.
That would be our one of our highest recruits in this year's class.
Uh, he is our second running back that we that committed the first being the 1st 1 being, um, chance block and even chance Black hod some good numbers.
Uh, just coming out of South Carolina.
So I'm just curious over just because Do you think we're becoming more of a running team? Because look at our recruiting class in 2020 we got, like, four running backs.
We got transferred.
Now you have two running backs committee in 2021.
Well, maybe running back by community, they never want to play like a feature back.
For whatever reason, you'd like to keep locating.
So they've got people that kind of transfer out approaches.
There's a lot of people in that running back right now, but right.
Cool. Herberts could be going after the season.
My If he has really good season, people think you could declare for the draft to be like a day three pack lacks year, yet we don't know.
Oh, yeah, I think. Yeah.
People are saying that he they think you're gonna get it.
But it's so not for, um but we know Brock Hoffman didn't.
So while she was back and forth with down the inside of a way is yeah, but I think it was every day because he was I think it was almost a crystal ball walk to like, Mississippi State on the whole time.
And then out of nowhere, like the day in his announcement, it just went attack.
So that was really, really affected yet, like you said, a slot receiver, that's going to be fine.
And then, yeah, that I was watching film.
This is like ice will tape.
It was like, Wow, this guy was not rated with all these stats.
So you said I'd probably look like a 0.
85 point 89 made, so couple do***ents, and then you did have call Nelson.
Get out. Commit today.
That was apparently I've been walking.
Is that on? Text me that he was a silent connect for like, three weeks now.
He was just Oh, you know? Yeah.
I mean, I knew I feel like, um like there's some commits that we have.
Like, you could tell for two or three weeks, like we know that these guys couldn't commit to taxis.
It's just one you held.
Um, I like the defensive clocks that were bringing up because yeah, because we had justice. We got justice.
Three trends transfer from Youngstown State.
We had Alec Brian, Robert Wooden, Justin Beetles.
Ah, in the 2020 class we have to with Carol.
Um, And now we have, um, uh, Cole Nelson as well, and Robert Jackson and I think someone last name is Anderson.
But there's a couple guys there that we could go after a swell and And that's not including I'd like to lick Williams or, um or Devon.
So So I like I like that were were beefing up or D line.
I mean, our secondary is pretty good.
I think we talked about how we had, like, five or six, uh, members of our secondary commit, um, in this year's class and now and now we're bringing and we're still in good standing.
For a guy like McKee, V is brown with the Four Stark here.
So thinking win.
Yes, our defense.
Our defense of recruiting is br.
It's really good for? For Ah, defense.
Recurring is really good.
For what? Um, for what it is because Yeah, well, the rankings might not be good.
I mean, at least, like last year rewards.
So we had to 75th.
Best recruiting class now, either.
Either guy, that if I were to be really good, we ve done before I start guys.
But they can develop into that.
Is there anyone else that I'm forgetting for, um, that we could commit? Or Jordan Pool? Dorner Pool could? Yeah, that's potentially coming.
It's still NCC interview T.
So no one knows for South Carolina.
I've heard I've heard.
I think I've read South Carolina is making a push for him.
Yeah, I read that.
But if they don't people in the text cape, they still think it's just a to battle. But you never know.
Even come out of nowhere.
Any point? Um, after this, there's nothing really close to being announced.
I don't think I've been reading much sleep the last couple days, and they did the carrot home last night.
There is nothing really think I need to report tile.
It may come next month when he's had.
So he's been crystal falling all over Virginia tax, and that would be a big time get to Yeah, I think the ship has sailed on the edit walks, and I think he's teeth.
Yeah, he is, I think.
Yeah, I know, but, I mean, but with, um, Cohen Els.
And that makes six recruits in July.
So I think we're doing a pretty good late push.
I would love to see.
I mean, I think often see now something of theirs.
A few names I'm thinking about like, um, killing Austin from the Baltimore receiver.
Ah, you J. Huggins.
I don't think we're going after him since we got Trey Curry.
Um, their own cocaine and boom during another guy came in.
Boone was like, Who's an offensive tackle? Yeah, I got please wall to us.
Yeah, they've been getting a lot of events in the last couple of days.
Could be one offensive line classes slacking right now, so that will be a big jump start to it.
I mean, we definitely I mean, we definitely need more offensive linemen in our in our car.
So I think if there was a position that we might get two or three more guys because it will be offensive flying because quarterback, we already have our one quarterback in.
Um, we, uh we already have two running backs, and we might we're still looking at Ah, Trick s to me.
So and that that would be a force that will be a four star back.
So I'll be pretty good there.
A tight end, I think we're looking at Jackson's brother for that role.
I I feel like because I remember with Dax it was like he was looking for a Stanford off for I think Jack is looking kind of looking for the same thing.
I don't think you'll get it, so I think you'll commit attack.
But it's just a matter of when he is just a matter of when he commits attack.
In my opinion, Yeah.
I view with you.
Yeah, I think so.
Commitment to be lost.
Um, so I think offensive line would be the next area of focus that we have.
I'm just I'm just double checking if there's like on my twitter, If there's anything that we were missing.
There really isn't anything that that we're missing right now.
Um, off the is like the Phillies have received.
Related what? And turning around just got suspended.
So, um, that's it.
Uh, I just saw it from Oh, yeah.
We can talk about and telling your brown for a little bit, because, um okay.
So so remember the news story about the more Jackson now? Yeah.
That's why I thought he would get suspended for Yeah.
Yeah, I commented.
Yeah, well, yeah, this is this is the good part of doing a show and having our photo having, like someone's having to phone on you cause that we could talk about, like, breaking news and stuff.
So intended eyebrow.
So So, like, breaking youth and tell your Brown is going to spend it aching.
I thought I believe eight games.
I thought it could be around eight games.
And, um, I think the biggest issue I think the well, other, in fact, that what he could do to locker room was how make if we mess Yeah, the fact that a yeah, I think I think that Do you think that increases the odds that Antonio Brown will get signed.
Honestly, I don't really think many teams will be interested in him after that.
Just because of, you know, the locker room thing and how he just likes to quit.
There's always one team out there that could.
I mean, you know, I you know, you saw my TWEET earlier in the week about Lamar Jackson like saying uh, like, nice stuff about it don't around you.
I laughed at him for it.
So, um, there's always There's always the chance that he could sign.
But, I mean, I wouldn't but eight games.
That's that's gonna be How is he going, Teoh Rusty's gonna be, you know, you'll be working out.
Remember? He said he retired like a week of your half ago.
So is even gonna play.
Who knows? Yeah, I don't know.
I think the de arresting it.
I think he'll be ready to go for whoever signs him.
Now I will say that it's like Jason, Like Jason Law Canfora, he waas.
He's often wrong about certain predictions, So he's a guy on CBS sports.
He basically someone asked him, Is there any chance that the Ravens finding Tony Brown and he said, I think it's very remote now remember what I said.
He's often rolling about a bunch of stuff.
Yeah, yeah, because he was good, he said, Like the Ravens were planning on firing John Harbaugh and even extension.
So if he's saying it's remote, I because, um, but go back to Lamar Jackson saying Keep him mind.
Lamar Jackson is friends with Antonio Brown cousin.
I had actually trained with Antonio Brown like because we saw the videos.
I think him saying in that would want Antonio Brown 19.
The Heat thinks that he could control Antonio Brown his behavior, but also look at his teammate in marquees Brown.
If he really said if he said, I don't think Antonio Brown's a good fit on my team on the team, his cousins, his teammates like Antonio Antonio cousin.
It's Lamar's teammates.
So you really think the margin of bad mouths in, um, baby for, um to a place where, you know, you know, you're working with a family member of his a lot So he's knocker say anything.
That and the Ravens said, We're not like we're fine.
Um, like We're looking into it, so I think that if it all checks out, But honestly, if Antonia progress to Ravens and he's drama free, I mean, you got J. K.
Dobbins, Mark Ingram, Mark Andrews and telling a brown more Keith Brown.
Devin Duvernay a pro Shea on that offense, and that's and act without men on death without, um, bringing up Antonio Brown.
I don't Lamar Jackson.
Yeah, that's that would be a I don't know how.
I mean you could still stop it, but it is going to be a lot harder to stop that offense.
Yeah, it would be probably one of those offenses and football now a Jola free and turning around.
That's probably not like you have been, especially with him.
So yeah, a lot of Ravens fans said two words.
Yeah, jeez, but that's something that some that's something really interesting.
I feel like in next week's episode, it would not shock me if we're talking about in telling your Brown signing, Um, in the next week, it would not shock me.
I said, Well, back and forth anyway, with retiring, right? So, um, yeah, begin.
I'm sure we'll plan a bunch of stuff for next week's episode will do baseball updates.
And, yeah, I think I'll say about hockey stuff for next week, since it hasn't started yet.
But, um, those don't know hockey comes back tomorrow.
So in total clock, the playoffs start us.
Watch that on NBC, NBC Sports Network and a bunch of other channels, right? And then I just want I hate doing this because I just want to end up on a bit of a sad note.
But so if you know, um, there is a very famous member of Baltimore media mogul Abba and Mokaba.
Um, if you don't know he was.
I think he's like he was 14 years old.
He's battled cancer about four times, starting in nine months.
He did read out a Ravens draft pick.
He had his own like like some part time radio show on 157 So two things started off really well because the Orioles did something very classy and they inducted him Ege the Orioles Hall of Fame.
But they ended with him passing away.
So condolence it, Do his family.
Yeah, that that Well, Doctor, just it's a good day.
Started off in the invention, Spent socks.
Yeah, and and that kid was really strong.
Like I said, he bound enter four times and he was 14 from nine months.
I was just I was Does fruit on meaning If you have saw, like, I didn't see the Orioles home opener by ah, lot of people were tearing up because they were showing, like, a video of, like, meow meow interacting with a bunch of the Orioles players.
And it was just brutal to watch just to see, like, his positivity on that one.
So today, Ah, today Oh, this will conclude our, um, today's episode of Sports Talk Central next week.
We're going pretty much do the same thing.
Talk based recount, baseball we're gonna bring in.
We're gonna start talking about N b A.
We're gonna start with age.
Our NFL Um I think you're gonna talk about hockey, and then we will do all that stuff by, um ah, world anti episode.
Like right now it every episodes are every new episode of every Friday around 1 30 to 2 o'clock will be be about our so so that on whether I could on the debate
