Always the first, seemingly always the first comment, right? Yeah.
Yeah. People long appreciate you being here.
I'm a friend of the show.
Well, so get another longtime friend of the show.

Oh, Miss Charles.
For many a moon.
Now he's Charlie so that he's in his cool people face.
You enter a certain stage of life. You start going from Billy to William.
Well, I always had a 1,000,000,000 in my life.
So you got a hybrid that Mookie Betts is in the stream repping from Santa Fe Springs.
I did not know that now, but a little bit more cared about was pretty close.
Todo you confess your love.
Elissa is out in Cambridge, Massachusetts was going on.
Listen, thanks for hanging out with us, Christina.
In Central Cali, J.
Sanjay S o n on periscope.
Asked what movies.
New movies you guys recommend.
Why Don't think their new movie.
I don't think there are any new ones now.
Uh, I think we're skipping the new movie stage for the moment.
Oh, wait, I have Ah, there.
I don't know what I forgot.
What, So, but just like a lot of great Siris on Netflix movies to watch that are there like Space Jam? What are old movies? Brooke, You'll be happy that I started watching Tiger King.
You started it? Yeah, we got two episodes, and and then and then the missus.
Blood was boiling, so we had to stop.
Yeah, she's Ah, she's a known animal rights activists, so I could see you upset about that.
So don't spoil it for me.
But my early returns is they're all terrible people, but eyes the most evil one.
That's how I feel.
Let me tell you something about Carol by asking, All right.
Just remember back.
That's all you need to know. Carol Basket.
Yeah, I know that I had that in my life.
That was the first, like, tinge I had in my heart.
There's that there's like, there's one line in that entire show that like, sums up everything about that's going on right now.
And so it's not.
It's not Super Fokker, but he's like I'm broken.
And that's my favorite line of all time.
What time it is a line I do believe that is your first vulgarity on the show.
So Garrett Adam is on Facebook says, Hello, guys.
We also got Logan Jones saying, Hey, guys, I miss you.
I miss you guys and Dodger baseball.
We definitely miss Dodger baseball.
I don't miss Brooks so much.
I still see him.
I don't cyber with him way too.
I don't I don't miss myself either.
You know, to be honest for being real with each other.
I don't miss me either.
We got Tammy from the 29 and lows body yos.
Do they call it most Bonnie? Oh, so they call those Banos because just Spanish for the bathrooms.
Yeah, multiple bathrooms.
Uh, the wife says that Gary screen is small and cute.
So she appreciates your screen.
I guess. Gary and I'm not putting me on.
And I was like, Okay, we need the floating head.
People ask for you last week.
We need to make sure your run.
Aah! Katie says me and Mom are watching from the 559 which is Northern California.
Hi, Katie and Mrs Katie's mom.
Mrs. Katie's mom. Mrs. Kiddies.
I hear she's got it going on.
Gala saw parasite this weekend.
Just the movie, not help t o to be easy.
You know, it's ah, it turns out people are not a fan of the mustache.
Were not end of the most dashing that I got.
I don't disagree.
Listen, this is a protest mustache, all right? I'm protesting everything about life right now.
This this goes when the quarantine goes.
How about that? Oh, so forever.
So you're gonna go all your hair there? Yeah, probably.
Just grow all my hair because I don't trust myself to buzz my head.
I'll miss like a back strip, and it will be like a rat tail and just just won't because your wife could do it.
And then we'll ask her to miss certain parts of your head.
That'd be a really good YouTube video for her.
So and you just shave your mustache, actually in the middle, and I just want outside like lip.
Yeah, Turkey. Do something.
Do something for, like, the positivity here of the show guy Anyways, whatever.
So, uh, we gotta talk about what's going on in the wild world of no sports.
There are a lot of things that are going on but not going on. It's weird.
We all hate it. We're all unhappy this much we know.
Let's talk about this.
Um, I decided to devise a plan.
I mean, everybody who watches this show.
I mean, of course, in the podcast. I do.
You guys hear us? We drink.
We definitely drink on the shows that we d'oh anybody that wants us on their news network.
We could do this without drinking without Brooks wearing all the time too.
So, you know, let us know if you want us to come on through and we'll do things.
We'll do a lot of things for money.
It's where but I decided that I do want to We want to bring you guys.
I decided that we want to bring you guys the M O B news power.
Our one that will not be an hour long.
We promise um, one of us.
We're gonna Brooke and I are gonna go back and forth on news headlines here, and then we're gonna drink.
I think that's reasonable, right? You on board? You guys over here in the chat. Everyone's on board.
All right, cool.
Is that is that our last Figaro Mountain beer? Uh, yes.
No, it's No, it's not.
It's not Figure out why? I think we drank them already.
They were so good that we drank all of their beer very quickly.
Big hook us up with some or all right, so I'm gonna go first.
Ah, and then you do the next one.
You see him on the list there, highlighted in blue because their links opening day apparently is moved yet again.
What is the fourth of July? Now, as you said, a very patriotic opening day.
That's what, uh, bill shaking of L.
Times is saying, um, thoughts.
Do I have thoughts about that? Yeah, the well, listen, that that lines up with several things it lines up with, um, Toronto just banned gatherings until after June 30th.
So if Toronto's banned from gathering, that means they can't have games until after June 30th.
It lines up with the Marlins being at Dodger Stadium that day.
Um, that's like a seven PM start day.
It lines up with the pretty much everybody's been saying like, Hey, we'd be lucky if we got to start late June lines up with that, um, lines up with a lot of things, honestly.
So I think in terms of its opening day on July 4th, it's pretty cool, like you could justify a lot more fireworks.
I think maybe more flyovers like to fly overs.
That's also I think you you had did the math or you got the map from somewhere.
That's 61 games off the schedule.
If the season was going the rest of the regular way, which 100 games seems to be about, You know, I think all we could expect right now.
So instead of 101 Dalmatians, 101 games, that's what we're playing.
Oh, man, look at that.
We're learning will give you some points.
There already have flagged by Disney for that.
Well, then I can show you the world stocks excited.
Think kids, I'm available for online bar mitzvahs and and the rest were just, uh, so I didn't give it that much heart.
If if we do July 4th, I feel that we're lucky.
That's that's my thought on it.
It's I decided to be doom and gloom today.
It just felt like a doom and Gloom Day.
And that's where I'm at anyways.
Tuesday and we can't have tacos next Headlines.
What? Did you have your beer? The I did.
I was kind of doing it the whole time because you just kept talking.
So, uh, next big headline, minor league pay back in the news once again after we talked about it.
Uh, probably last week.
The days all kind of blend together when you're stuck inside. You know, I forgot.
Today was Tuesday.
I thought it was Wednesday.
I have no idea where I am.
Guess how much they're getting paid.
Clint, how much are they getting? Paid? As good.
I like that set up.
Thank you very much.
A whopping $400 a week.
$400 a week for minor leaguers.
But all things considered, that's actually pretty good deal.
You know, we were worried about minor leaguers not getting paid at all.
We were worried about what they were gonna do.
A lot of them were like, I'm gonna have to go back to my other job.
Ah, lot of their other jobs were things that don't exist right now, like substitute teaching, not a job right now.
Um and so there was a lot of worry because what's the best way to put this? Historically, Major League baseball, not the best towards its minor league talent doesn't treat them very well.
Doesn't pay them very often.
But another highlight of this deal is that minor league Blair's will be covered in their medical expenses, which is a huge deal when you consider guys that are like rehabbing from injuries, working way back or, you know you don't know how long baseball is gonna be gone.
And so these guys don't have any medical coverage for that time.
And so it was like, Are they gonna have to pay for that on a pocket? What's gonna happen? Luckily, the league was like that's covered 400 bucks a week, you know, you know, initially, I know initially it was gonna be like they had only agreed to pay out for the first.
Like what? Two weeks in April.
Think it was through April 9th at Original day.
So that was the main thing they got out of this.
This headline today was expanding to the bare minimum the end of May.
Which a lot of things you could be lining up for the end of May.
Gary, we can hear you typing by the way, chief.
Or that's you, Brooke.
I don't know. I don't I don't believe in typing.
A lot of things.
Like you're saying things end up for the lineup for the end of June.
Things do line up for the end of May.
Yeah, Keep them paid.
Are all that stuff I've lost my train of thought were there, but there was 11 minor leaguer, Josh ste.
Hours on the Internet.
He says the bad news still broke The good news that pays my rent.
So positive thinking.
There you go with That's a win right there.
We also want to remind you guys were doing something new on Facebook.
We could get stars now, so Ah, everywhere you're at, make sure you mash that heart button, but also mash that star button.
Ah, it validates us on the insights.
It makes me feel better about myself.
We got to know if people see it. I mean Facebook.
Yeah, let us know that.
Oh, it's a new feature.
But then I don't know if you see it right now.
Anybody on Facebook? He's Ah, please do Let us know.
Chris. I see our boy l Carozza.
He's on Facebook.
So let us know if you're gonna see a star option.
We'd appreciate it there.
A couple of comments here, Katie saying I wish I was making $400 a week right now.
I mean, except there are a lot of Wait a minute.
Oh, by the way, Chiko wants us to keep playing this show.
Simulated Dodger games.
Those have been fun.
They are surprisingly frustrating to watch.
Our cyber Dodgers on paper seemed a lot better, but manner they are the only if the government heart attack.
Oh, Ken Lee, I thought you're saying Kimberly, I was like, Who's Kimberly? And what did she do to you? Oh, did you see the stars Well, she said, I could see the stars, My doom, Ash.
I think she just switched over from YouTube to Facebook. That's impressive.
Thank you so much.
The future is wild to be stars, guys.
It's like Facebook is hooking us up.
They're trying something.
You if you guys hit the star button and we get over a certain limit, it looks like we might get paid a little bit for doing some of these life forms.
Because in the past, none of these life since we haven't really been getting paid for anything separating, accept them beer.
So if you guys hit those stars, I think they're like half a cent you go.
So you guys all hit, It will be great.
You know, we don't get paid in beer.
Occasionally, people give this beer.
But for the most part, it's me, Brooke.
You bring us white.
Klaus, we appreciate you carry next topic up.
I had my drink for the last topic.
So this one here, 2019 playoff baseballs were actually found to be de juiced.
Some of them where ah, where they were cut apart all that and, uh, they were doing some expert scientific research looking at the stamps.
And apparently some of the ones major league are sort of playoff.
Baseballs were from the 2018 season, which messes up.
And, of course, for the longest time Emma be denied it.
They were saying, You know, it wasn't there the same balls they had all season, the same regular season balls and and maybe they tried to bend the truth a little bit there.
But they're caught red handed now.
And as I read this headline is a lot of people read this headline.
You know, you just immediately you can't get that image of the Will Smith almost home run ball.
They almost walk off in Game five, out of your head.
Sad again, less up.
If I could, I was already sad, so I can pour my beer out a little bit in the room.
I would, but that would be pretty messed up.
I think the lady would be upset.
She would not be happy about that.
Yeah, that's Ah, that's Ah, that's a tough one to swallow When, uh, here's the thing.
We were ****ed when we found out the balls were juiced, and now therapist that we found out they were not Jews.
Just keep it consistent pages.
I don't know. I don't care.
Which one do you do? Just keep it like that One way or another, like it's really ****ing you off when they start doing crap like that, because then it leaves room for us to be like, Well, what would have been if they had kept them the same with Will Smith, you know, and you can say whatever you want.
There's probably a lot more balls that would have gone out just in general.
Who knows who would have won that series? But it leaves that little sliver of like, what would have happened if Will Smith Ball went out in that particular.
So there's a lot of what ifs that go along with it, But it's just the fact that it leaves that one little space of thing where you're like, if this went right, how many other things would have went right? Because if the Nationals could run through everybody else, the Dodgers could run through everybody else, and that's tough to swallow.
They really got to get out of 2017.
That was the biggest.
That was the biggest thing from from 2019 from that postseason.
Like we talked about it, we talked about on the show.
I talked about it with Ross Stripling when he came into the office.
I, uh you know, the last time he was in with us on the show and I was like, make me feel better about this national scene.
I knew that was the one team to worry about.
And sure enough, they, you know, they proved they prove me right and I'm upset about that.
Unfortunately, Charlie Hamels is 2020 just keeps getting better.
Roach, our boy Roaches in the stream, says, My life is a Dodger fan.
That's a whole lot of what ifs eso.
We give some get points out the roach there.
I feel that Yeah, a lot of the what ifs all over the place, guys, since it's ah, it's a weird time to be a daughter.
Fans were time to be a baseball.
Fans were time to be a person, I think.
I think if you admit your daughter going out, you're really a Dodger fan.
After four years of three years of going through this garbage and you're still fan, you know, big props to you.
I wish there was a pin for you.
I'm gonna I'm gonna just gonna bring this up out of nowhere.
There's just so much going on that it's like, it's really hard to be a fan right now.
You know, you got that is everything kicked off with the Astros cheating scandal like breaking out.
That was like the starter for this bad off season.
Right? Then you get make a trade for Mookie, and you're like, That's awesome.
We got Mookie Betts.
We got Stephen Price.
Everything is gonna be great, man.
The entire season shuts down.
All right, Brooke, once that the winter meetings was really the kickoff of our off season that started it down this horrible trail, then it was the Astros cheating.
Then I'm sorry, but I just want to give you that context.
There's yes, it was swinging and missing on 33 big time, right? You miss you miss a couple really, really big names scare Cole being probably the biggest name off them.
Then the Astros cheating scandal breaks out, and it's like, Well, we should have had the 2017 world Siris, but we don't so that sucks, too.
And then you get Mookie Betts, and you're like we have movie bets, okay? Things are gonna get better.
And then the season shuts down, and then you start talking about Hey, if we don't play baseball this year, then we lose Mookie Betts.
Not only do we lose Mookie Betts, but we just traded really good players for two years and some money of David Price.
That's all you got.
That's not, You know, you don't have an abundance of warmth and happiness in your heart when you hear that.
That crap for sure.
Roach brings up, uh, I don't know.
I I would say a point.
I'm gonna argue against the art, he says.
I'd argue it was more difficult being a Dodger fan during the Frank McCord era.
Uh, no, because there was still baseball being played.
And that was the baseline.
Here's the thing.
The McCord area was bad.
Yes, I understand that.
But here's why. It was good.
There were no expectations because the bar was low.
The bar was very, very low.
It was like if they make the playoffs, it's a good year.
Now it's like If you don't make the world Siris, it's a disappointment.
Massive disappointment In the playoffs you lost to the Nationals in the division Series.
You suck like come on 2020.
We didn't even make the regular season.
That's up to you.
And we already got eliminated.
The doctors had Ah, what ah 100.
And how many year consecutive streak of making the regular season and how they haven't made it? Well, we'll lose.
Can't even win a game yet if I'm sad.
Gala Gayle agrees with Gary, by the way, says times like these define us as fans.
I was Lilly, huh? Absolutely. They do.
If you can stick through this, I'll be honest.
Guys could make it through six straight World Series losses.
Really, everything defines us as humans, too, in a way.
Ah, the next topic, which was already a good segue way into it.
Talking about the Muecke stuff in the Mookie Mookie Mookie and the loyalty, loyalty, loyalty boom is your second song for the day.
I think this is your headlines to go ahead and give us the next headline in Hemel Be headline power, our whatever I don't have been drinking.
That was really good.
He did a good job for some reason.
Let me preface this by saying, I think this is a stupid conversation and it doesn't make any sense.
And the the answer is very obvious.
But you might not agree.
ESPN Some ESPN hosts, they decided they need to talk about whether or not Mookie Betts owes any loyalty to the Dodgers, especially if the season we're completely cut right now.
And he didn't play one game for them.
Does he owe them any loyalty? Does he give them any break on re signing him? Does he take a home team discount for some reason? Because he feels bad that they made that big trade and traded away all those guys to land him, just to watch him walk away in free agency? Because there's a good chance the Dodgers don't re sign him when you consider all the guys they have to pay over the next couple years.
That being said, no, Mookie Betts does not owe the Dodgers one **** thing.
He did not decide to be treated here.
It was not his decision to come to L. A.
He doesn't know us anything.
If he walked away, I wouldn't blame it all.
All he needs to be thinking about is his family and his checkbook.
I don't blame him one bit if he walked away for, Ah, a deal.
That was more than the Dodgers offered.
I wouldn't blame him one bit.
The Dodgers matched it or went higher.
Yeah, I'll be a little upset, but as it stands, I mean, can't complain like I mean, Clint, you know there's There's Cody Bellinger.
There's Walker Bueller. There's Corey Seager.
There's a bunch of guys that air in the next couple of years.
You're gonna have to pay those guys.
Hey, on and on of Dodger legends that need to be paid.
And, you know, most of the headlines were talking about you know, the doctors have a bunch of money coming off the books after this season.
Yeah, but the other side people don't like to think about is you need to pay.
You know, this six and under, You know, big leaguers you need to pay these guys and arbitration monies go up as the kids say.
So, um, with this a way.
We're here to give people hope.
But, um, not only Muecke.
One of the things ah, one of the kind of narratives that a lot of people are that have been lost has been lost in A lot of people.
Here is, you know, everybody's mentioned.
Everybody's mentioned Trevor Bauer and so on is as these players that could become free agents without having to do that.
This year there's also for the Dodgers is just Turner.
There's in John Peterson.
Pedro Baez is one trying and technically could be one.
I think there was Maur.
Not that that's the main.
That's the heart of a list there.
After that, you have one more season of Corey Seager left, but that's a big hit, you know, like I mean, granted, the Dodgers didn't necessarily want or need Jock Peterson this season.
Uh, J t is already pretty much said he, um I going anywhere, you know, he plans on coming back, but right, it's still something to acknowledge that Hey, these guys could very easily walk.
Yeah, I mean, they could and you start getting a little bit deeper in.
I mean you, no matter what we look at it, the team next year is not gonna look the same at all.
I think like nobody.
What will you look at it? Regardless of whether Muecke stays there, leaves like theirs.
There's no way that he looks the same.
I don't know what they do with Pedro Baez next year.
I don't know what they do with Alex Would I would think Alex would is not on the team next year, no matter what happens.
Like regardless of any scenario, Um, they had Blake trying and who they signed for $10 million for a one year deal.
He made 11 inning of of relief in spring training.
He made one appearance that might be enough for a team to take a bet on him.
You don't know, Um, I don't know.
It's gonna be really strange to see the way they navigate this the next couple years because that's one of the downsides of having like a very good young lineup is eventually you have to pay them all at the same time and its lining up to look like that, like really got.
I mean, you got Walker Bueller who's further out than everybody else.
But then you got Cody Bellinger, who's a little bit closer.
You got Corey Seager, who is a year out after next year.
And then you got you know, you got Brush tripling who? I think the Dodgers want to keep around long term, but he's like one of those guys that could be a sneaky hi cell for another team to go.
He goes top agency.
There's no way in hell he would be dumb enough to re sign with L. A.
I mean, he's He's an Anaheim guy.
I think he's like an Anaheim or a Ranger, sir. Sorry.
He's Yeah, he'll probably I don't think he has any problem, you know, Not the taking anything away.
You know, it's part of the business.
I don't think he has any problem going on playing for Houston Astros.
I mean, if they you know, they pay, I'm going.
They want him to start.
If you're talking about with Mookie, you know, you gotta look at this.
What? In your best interest, you know, for yourself, for your family, for your future and long run.
The fact that you just turned 30 about this. Wise to you.
You mean from a brandy sampling you send with Astros? I mean, from a player fraternity kind of level.
Do you sign with the Astros? Because a lot of players were just talking bad on them, and it just doesn't seem like a place you want to be.
Its they're literally wearing a scarlet letter now, you know, And do you really want to put that kind of jersey on you? The people were in the Scarlet Letter, lower the people that were on the team during that 2017 championship.
Not even people that just came in 2018 or really being treated his poorly.
It's really like five guys that are just being at, like, destroyed like out of a That dude is never gonna live a happy career for the rest of his life.
Like you'll never live that down. Springer.
He's gonna have a rough life.
Korea, just because he opened his mouth, is gonna have a really hard time in life.
Red**** is just a horrible human being, and I hope the worst for him, Raph and I think if you're a player, and if you're Ross Stripling and you're looking at starting for a team.
Houston is good place to start, you know, they don't have really good starting pitching anymore.
It's starting to fall apart.
There's a lot of money invested into the wrong guys right now.
They're another team that has a lot of young talent that's gonna be need to be paid soon as well.
Um, and not only that, but they also are facing an unfortunate situation of a lot of people are looking to get out of Houston, especially the guys that have been there since 2017.
Those guys are gonna be like, Hey, whenever it's my time to leave, I'm out of here like I'm not gonna stay and get paid.
It's It's bad here, Um, and so raw, stripped like.
And they're like, Hey, we're gonna pay you $15 million a year and you could start.
He's like, Hell, yeah, I'm gonna be a starter.
Plus, with the Astros side of things, their farm system was already weakening, and it's only going to get hit worse by the punishment where they lose what the first and second round picks in both of the next draft.
And another thing.
I wonder if that with the now changed draft that's coming up where it's effectively gonna be living in tow.
What, five rounds? If it happens, you know it's that change things for the Astros.
I mean, there's so many, so many weird, weird things going on with that agreement that went down with everybody.
And when you have to talk about multi millions and millions of dollars here, uh, you kind of scared to read the whole do***ents.
But any who's, uh, dig into a few of the comments here agents is the organization's trash course, the organization being that the Astros.
Yeah, but if you're talking about you know, if, let's say Ross Ross is at bare minimum a $10 million a year starting pitcher coming up straight from his last, uh, with a pot with a body and you know anybody of the podcast is elite.
As long as it's on video, you also don't for this is this Is this an extra point with encouraging Ross, I guess signing elsewhere, which is sounds like a really weird thing to say, but he, uh, he's really, really, really smart with money.
Gary like you can't You can't forget that side of him to the dude is a straight up businessman for sure.
We still have audio CD signing bonus.
You know those rumors of him investing in under armour and Apple? All that kind of got to verify that stuff.
You know, he's going crazy right now with, like, the stock market and everything like that.
So he's at least he has something to do and his offseason off season two point.
Oh, yeah, that's good.
Not to keep just laying on Ross.
We could all say Alex would could sign there, too. He's a spot.
He's a starter that is in need of a job.
She's been so outspoken.
He just walks into the into that locker room.
Oh, Alex, Alex would.
Yeah, I don't see him signing with.
Use it after the kind of offseason twittering that he's been doing.
Uh, he's, he's he's been going in on a little bit.
I don't think you could sign there after you do that.
The final topic here for ah will be news power, our power, whatever.
25 minutes or so.
Ah, it's not really ah news headline.
But it's just something I kind of wanted to get off my chest here.
Like all of the Tommy John surgery is going down right now.
Do you do baseball players know more than we know? Like, how much more do they know? Yeah, it is.
I mean, it seems like one of those things where they're like, Look, if there's so much uncer*****y around the season, if I get it done now, I could be ready by next year, regardless.
Probably just go for it.
Probably just throw in the towel on the year.
It's already a weird year.
Anyways, there's already a good chance you're gonna get a lot of games cut out anyways.
Might as well just throw in the towel and go for it because you know a lot of these guys they're hurting all the time anyways, like a lot of them need surgery and just aren't getting surgery.
Corey Seager needed surgery on his hip, did get surgery until he had to his third year on the elbow.
And what August the 2017 the worst day of my life.
Right now, the players know that even if it's because right now, 100 games, that's optimistic.
Don't you guys think very thin this point? Yeah, and it's safe to say there's gonna be games.
Yeah, s So you're saying Etienne 16? Even if they played 60 games, I can see players just saying, Well, this is it doesn't really count Anyway.
It's Why am I gonna play? I'm not gonna play for World Siris because it's not gonna count.
It's all motivation there.
Yeah, there's, I mean, player to player.
It varies pretty drastically in terms of like, hey, like, what's the minimum for you to be like, Yeah, this is this is a legitimate championship.
Hey, like, is this real? People seemed a very on it.
Some people are like 100 games like anything below 100 games.
Some people are like whatever they decide, Like if we're playing games, we're playing games, you know, if thinking about it realistically, if you're playing, if they're gonna push for more games, they're going to stack doubleheaders.
They're gonna push to see, easing back into November, maybe even December.
And they're gonna change the roster size from 26 toe 30 35 40 somewhere and that that that that changes the game, you know? And if the game you know it's change, does that mean you're championship is not really, because you didn't play the normal way that baseball is played? So I mean, there's just so many factors that go into it where you could justify saying like, Oh, this isn't a real championship that I'm like I don't really care, You know, as long as we play ball games as long as we get some games in, I don't care like if you guys wanna rock, paper, scissors to decide I care.
I actually care about the number.
I think the whole murder San Antonio Spurs went into a championship in LA College shooting season.
Yeah, I agree. It's aspects.
I mean, the injuries.
Everything is part of a season of getting to the Posies.
Even like we only played 80 games and the Dodgers won the World Series.
I am not going toe really celebrate as hard.
You know, it's just me.
That's just how I am your eyes, eyes.
You're going up.
That would be hard.
How about they, uh, they do it like our upcoming bracket.
You know, we're we're, ah, inspired by the Dodgers bracket.
I'm sure you got a lot of people saw that on Twitter.
We're going to be running.
Ah, whole gambit of an editorial calendar, if you will, are running a whole calendar gambit.
Or anyways, we're gonna have We're gonna use the Dodgers bracket and, you know, have them go.
Something like that.
Why not? Why not just make the season of racket? I'm kind of all over the place with that.
What I'm getting at is why not make the season just just bracket it up, make it happen, to be honest, YOLO, I I like the idea of just, you know, saying, you know what? Let's pick the top 12 teams and let him play the season, then screw the whole light DEA all a farm system Anyways, you know the whole idea.
With baseball, though, it's supposed to be, you know, like you coming into the season, any team can win and it's anybody.
It's not any given Sunday.
Audrey's gonna win, you know.
The Giant's ain't gonna win.
They get rid of them.
I can't be that the Padres could.
Padres were sneaky.
They're looking to be sneaky good.
But, you know, I I'm for it.
I have one of the teams that's in the top 12. I'm good.
I mean, I mean, if you're looking at it like realistically, if they're getting started in July, they're gonna be able to get enough games like it's it's not gonna be an issue.
I don't think I think maybe they're gonna push back the season and stack doubleheaders that that doesn't mean there's a double header every day. Like even.
Still, it wouldn't be another's double heavier every day.
There's a lot more weekend doubleheaders which looking at it weekend doubleheaders, that makes sense.
And if you're doing that throughout the course of the rest of the season, then, yeah, you're gonna get in at least 100 games.
If you're getting started in July again, that's the biggest question is whether or not you're gonna be able to get started by July because we still don't know.
We don't even know what we're gonna be able to go outside officially yet.
There's a lot of pressure.
At the end of June because of weather is gonna be hot, and that's when it's gonna get a little bit.
But I think the false It's a false sense of security because as soon as flu season hits up again, they don't have any vaccines.
It's gonna come back.
And then if we're playing games that late in the season with that many people in the stadium, it's just a potential powder cake.
And that's just my personal feelings.
I'm sorry if I lean out like that conspiracy, whatever, but that's just my natural thinking, you know, and I just don't think he's responsible until they can figure out a better treatment.
And there's some treatments out there, but you can't do anything for real until there's real treatments out there.
Here's here's Here's the reason why I think no, here's the reason why I know that baseball season won't get canceled.
Here's the reason why I know that, uh, there's money involved.
Yeah, that's it.
That's all there is.
There's TV deals.
There's, I mean, can you imagine the financial impact of not having a Major League baseball season on television? On ticket sales on stadiums, every every single aspect of their not being baseball absolutely crippled.
Major league Baseball like it, it would kill him.
Give me baseball back.
As long as baseball promises to use their record setting billions of dollars that they make two bison ventilators and mass for the hospitals, doctors and nurses, that's all asked, I'm gonna bring it back, donate that money to help because I think that not be a fair way to say, like we're sacrificing some people to entertain them, to make some money.
But we're going to save some people here, you know? I just I just think there needs to be a better like money. I get it. Brooke.
That's always going to be the leading reason for a lot of things.
But right now we need to help each other.
And I hope, people, I hope Manfred had the balls to do it.
You know I can. I can see the N b a.
Doing something like that, but I just can't see Manfred.
He's a follower. He follows the NFL.
You followed the MBA follows hockey.
He can't make a decision without saying, What's everybody else doing? What would you put on your test sheet like? That's what he's all about.
So he needs still Yeah, something.
I mean, the bad parties, like Major League baseball of all of the commissioners and I even even the NFL, where they absolutely hate there.
Commissioner, Major League Baseball right now has the worst commissioner just because he cannot make a **** decision for himself.
Like he's so heavily influenced by everything else going on around him.
He screwed himself with the Astros.
He really just dropping Els, Els and l's for this issue.
This is your chance to make things right, to do it the right way.
And so far you know what? To his credit.
So far, Major League Baseball has done okay with the way that they've approached this.
They've made sure that people are getting paid to an extent.
Uh, they've made sure that minor league players are taking care of to an extent.
They've kind of bended to the wants and desires of the players union to an extent.
Okay, you're doing OK.
You're not doing great.
You could be doing a lot better.
There's companies that are out there that are literally designed to make baseball jerseys, and that's where they make their money.
off of that are doing better than you.
But you're doing okay And you can live on that, I guess, for the day.
But this is man friends, this man friends chance to really shine and go above and beyond.
And if he if he doesn't capitalize on this I mean, looking at this, even from a business standpoint, you don't capitalist.
That's not like you don't like shine, you know, they just want to be safe.
I'm not gonna defend him.
But he's in a tough spot with this because he knows he's making a lot of elves.
But also he understands that he can't be the next commissioner that lets baseball go to strike and that C b A is coming up in the c B.
A is bad and he's the guy who agreed to it.
So he's got a kiss and asked for them l b p a.
R to them as much as he can, which is another reason like Alfredo had mentioned it earlier.
You know why? Why, Ah, bracket like sort of system wouldn't happen to me.
The Players Association would be butt hurt about players not being involved.
The top 12 teams getting in sort of thing.
But how did percent? It feels like to me.
He's just trying to kick the players, kiss the players ass and and Tony Clark and all that kind of stuff.
And he has to if we're gonna baseball ever comes back.
You kind of want to keep it around you.
He has to understand his opportunity here.
Like, yes, he does have the chance, Right? He has probably the second most popular United States sport in this, you know right now.
And he has professional athletes who a lot of kids know.
There are the most relatable professional athletes in this country.
Like you look at all their normal people, you know, we know some professional baseball players, their families, their wives, whatever still working because they're just humble there.
You that, that humility, that work ethic and these people would would be out there helping the community if they can't.
But Manfred needs to set him up for success, and he needs to encourage them to be part of the solution so that this this world could be better.
And there's no better PR than that.
He sets up the players association, look amazing therefore, he gets the credit for it, then therefore in negotiations.
He has some leverage because he said, Look, I was there for you guys.
I helped you guys put in a good position.
Let's work together on the next Whatever deal he It disappoints me when people who are in positions of leadership fail, you know, and they get up there because somebody scratched his back and he scratched shares and he keeps on scratch.
Other people's back, and that's how he maintains a job.
You know, that's garbage.
Dude, if I could be his PR guy for one day like he would look like the best commissioner in all of sports like it honestly is not that difficult.
I don't know why he's having such a hard time with this.
I don't know why.
He's He's just bad.
He's bad at his job.
Let's be honest.
He's really bad at this job.
Just got inspired by Logan Jones.
If I was his PR guy, I'd be doing the Justin Turner thing to be going out buying people tacos 1000 tacos, baby boom.
You know, he was he was doing that.
I don't know if I clarified he was doing 1000 a day for that week.
So he actually did, like, 5000 tacos that week at it, At least because they kept doing talk because he was doing sandwiches.
He was doing a bunch of slash.
Jaycee's going hard.
He's just like a like I'm gonna make sure people are taking care of.
And I'm like, Dude, hey, Justin Turner, give that man all of the money after his contract is up this year. I don't care.
Keep him around.
I love that guy for L A.
Uh, Glendale, right.
We're going that way there and next.
A Mexican Filipino fusion house.
I think they're owned by God.
I'm gonna go now.
Roaches 80 Commissioner, I'm down.
Honestly, honestly, J t One day when his career is long over, J T is gonna make a great baseball executive somewhere.
I don't know what he's gonna do you or what the position is, but he's just so good for baseball.
Like just as a person, he belongs in like a very prominent front office figurehead type situations.
He's just that good at what he does for a community like he doesn't have to be that good.
He really doesn't like he has to do.
I mean, players are encouraged to do this kind of thing, but a lot less than what he actually does.
He's a natural leader, you know, like Dodgers Dodgers fans.
Forget that Roger's fans forget that he came over like from the Mets.
With his career almost dead, they forget that he came out of nowhere, hit like 3 50 Some finish whatever it was this first year in limited role, and then he just became an absolute monster.
And on top of it, while he was doing all that, he took care of an entire community that took him in like L.
A took him in, and he was like, I'm gonna take care of you And he did.
And I'm like, Do you think about, you know, a couple of years ago when the Dodgers traded a J.
Ellis and the heartbreak of that cause That dude was really like the soul of the team at that time.
And, you know, a J choking back tears and imported across the locker room as the story goes and said, That's That's the leader.
Now there's your guy pointing a jet, J T and and Health 100%.
He's been the guy, and he hopefully will need to be the guy if there's baseball again in 2020 or if he re signs in 2021.
And hopefully it doesn't go to the Astros.
It's funny because he's he's he's still, like for me, you know, I curse has been around forever cursed.
I was always gonna be the guy for me.
But J t is, like, automatically, the voice of the team.
You know, if if I'm looking for an opinion of an entire team, if I have to go to one guy, you know I'm going to J T will be like, Hey, what is the player saying? What are we talking about right now? Because of that? He just seems to be that guy like It's so it's so funny to me how he he slotted into that leadership role so perfectly among among Chase Utley among guys like David Freeze among Rich Hills among all these guys that, like our established veterans of the game, who seemed to have been around since the beginning, you still look to J. T.
and you're like, Wow, that's impressive.
He knows how to appreciate the moment.
Appreciate this experience.
I mean, when I was training, you see them after the spring during this training in where they're coming back into the locker room.
Um, they are him and Mookie.
They're celebrating like crazy. They're watching.
They're watching the game while it's going on.
And like Cody Thomas making that catch, I was in the locker when we made that catch.
And Mookie and, uh, Justin, they're all cheering like crazy, you know? And it's just good leadership.
It was infectious in that locker room.
So you know, it's something that he definitely brings that.
Yeah, I totally agree. Heat.
He needs to be celebrated, and he needs to be kept around to set a good example for all the young kids.
Gregor, I can't think of J.
D and you and the locker room and not think about him like you, that's all.
I can't say it anyway, kids fall anyway, guys, that has been our inaugural MLB news power.
Our ah, I don't know if we I mean, I crank through one beer one.
Usually it takes me the entire show to get food beer.
So I think it was a success way we did it Ready, Coming up later.
A little bit later on in this show.
I mean, for people in the video side that's coming up a whole hell of a lot sooner.
But, um, we're going to also bring our inaugural version of hypothetical complaints.
And Brooke, I hope you're very ready because I love it when you're angry that people want you to be angry.
Gary, you're gonna chime in on this.
But first, Ah, let's talk.
Brooke and I were gonna talk a little bit about a conversation with Tim today.
On the podcast side, the conversation will be in there in full.
We just had some video issues are video editor wasn't drunk enough in the afternoon.
And Gary and, uh, he, uh would you export it with the wrong setting or whatever? So things become things, you know, there's a lot going on is we're all trying to survive, and that's pretty much just kind of us here.
Making this whole ah ship go is best we can, and we're doing our part.
But we did get to talk to our boy s d Dr Tim Rogers and Way did talk about some of the minor league money stuff.
If you guys don't know Tim, he's, ah, one of our editorial.
He spent much our senior, as I said, our senior editorial writer here, Dodgers Nation, and he is also our proxy prospects.
Expert slash senior prospect hugger.
So he knows these dudes.
He's he's been with these dudes.
Ah, Rancho and beyond Minor are Camelback.
He knows them well, So it was cool to kind of have him talk a bit about, you know, kind of what the money means to them.
And just beyond that, what he wants to do.
Of course, Gary, you know more about the site that we do have coming up soon enough.
Tim wants to go all out on that.
Yeah, Tim approached me during the off season.
He's really he's very passion about Lana league baseball, and I want to give him a website that he can rely on.
So we are developing tortures 2080 dot com.
Right now I'm asking just like, you know, uh, Bill, who is following on at Dodgers 2080 on Twitter, and I think he got someone on Instagram, but we got big plans for We're going to be doing a lot of Twitter Castle play by play for each of the games.
I think we have plans for that.
We have basic coverage player profile.
Uh, it's just a lot of sites to build right now, and, you know, it's keeping me busy right now.
But, you know, it's gonna be a great sight and be part of the network that we're building along with.
A sports report dot com and stuff like that.
We're all just trying our best to get by right now.
And we're just trying to build something so that when everything's over work, good to go.
Yep, that's what's up and beyond that, of course, Tim is the human.
Like the rest of us.
We have confirmed as much.
I've seen him in just human food on multiple occasions, so she's so no, but yeah, but he he's struggling like all of us.
He's trying to figure it out, you know? Ah, how to just get through these days and figuring out how to kind of like, get back into baseball so we do kind of dig into that conversation, we are gonna have it up on our YouTube channel for anybody that wants to watch the full conversation.
All three of us aren't video, you know.
So it's a good time again.
The podcast will have the full the full ah, interview the full conversation.
Always nice talking to Tim.
It's Ah, it's Ah, it's a guy that knows his stuff is ah knows his soup, as I would have said back in the day.
But Brooks is dropping **** bombs all around here, so it happens all the way.
Also do mention because I've seen ah comment a couple common Logan is asking about what's going on with the All Star Game.
We do talk about the All Star game as well.
Um, kind of what they've known.
Tim's in the stream right now.
He's just a regret, really.
We have more time to build the site, so we're gonna go as hard as we can with side, of course.
But the All Star game.
Some of the season ticket holders of have ah, what was that? There's an email saying like, uh, TBD question Mark.
Uh, look for other email Yeah, check up.
You don't want this email.
You have the other email so no one knows what's happening. That's the issue.
Neither do we, but I don't hang out.
Hang out with that video on our YouTube youtube dot com slash Dodgers Nation TV.
Some of you people are on it, so moving right along.
I'm excited for this.
Guys. I I had it.
I had this idea. Had an epiphany.
Pop it in my head.
The idea here for hypothetical complaints is something that's exciting to me.
So we should be.
We're recording here on Tuesday, so we should be five games into the season if I'm not mistaken.
We know as Dodger fans, baseball fans is people are in the era of social media.
We would all be complaining about something right now.
Merely five games in.
We would be complaining about something right now.
So, uh, if the season were happening, what do we think we would be complaining about? So me, Brooke, you are Gary.
Who's leading it up? What do you want to go first? Broke hoodie.
Oh, I want me to go. Hi, Lyle.
First, I'm just gonna sit back.
Here's the deal, guys. Here's the deal.
It's 7 57 right now.
Alex would should be on the bump in about the let's say, fourth inning against the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium.
He should have already given up three earned runs.
Ah, to the Rockies on Ah Nolan Aaron.
And you know other stuff Happens should be about three earned runs right now.
They're not, You know, five games in, we should have approximately nine a.
J. Pollock strikeouts by now.
On top of that, I should be able Thio very aggressively attack Kiki Hernandez on Twitter, along with the timing of it all along with the Lakers. Kiki Hernandez.
You know, I should feel attacked both of them at the same time.
Unfortunately, we're not at that place right now.
I don't get attacked anybody, so I just have to attack Clint all day on Twitter.
It kind of sucks a little bit, but, you know, I'll take what I could get.
So what would I be complaining about right now? Well, the good news is the Dodgers will be three and one at this moment.
Yeah, but everything else sucks.
No five games would be five games.
We're not We're not that I don't want him.
Yeah, we're gonna come back tonight on the podcast.
This comes out on Wednesday.
So whatever way Wade Davis is going to give up 1/9 inning.
Ah, Grant Still have Wade Davis who's stolen a team? I just I just guessed on that one because he said $100 million for a lot of people.
Yeah. What do you have, like in the area over seven.
Last year? Yeah.
It's like, Hey, you were a good closer.
Do you want to come to the worst park to be a picture at? And he was like, Okay, I'm gonna have my own All right, over my annual salary.
It was the same guy, and Mike Hampton was like, Watch this.
What's just watches? Hey, guys, watch.
I'd have it to him too, You know, I'm proud of you.
Even if hypothetically angry.
Yeah, I'm usually just angry.
The world needs it, so I'll go.
I'm gonna go and go next.
Unless you're feeling locked and loaded.
Gary know anything on my mind? right now.
Uh, it's coming.
It's coming right now.
It's just you go first.
Is baking right now.
Just try to think of something you're baking.
Okay? I decided so.
I mean, we know Brooke Brooks.
General setting is is unhappy and angry.
Um, so we knew I knew you were gonna go him on that again.
We'll give you for me.
It was an overlying narrative we had during spring training, and I think it wasn't a carry over into the season.
I think already the wouldn't be boo birds.
And I'm not going Ken Lee here.
I I imagine people would assume, can they? The concerns that we had in spring with Will Smith, I think they would have carried over in the season.
He'd be a solid maybe like he'd he'd pull a quality J d.
Drew, like over 25 o r o.
I guess he wouldn't have 25 at bats yet, But he'd be over, you know, 13 or one for 15 or something like that.
And people would be like, you know, after this and after that, blah, blah, blah, they should d f a.
And they should release him.
Ways Russell Martin starting.
Why didn't they just go sign? Uh, went to just go signed Gary Sanchez like, Where's the country? Malina have to give the automatic just complete morons from the Internet.
So just that's that.
That's where ah, I would be right now.
My complaints would be focused on Will Smith, who is not having the best start to his 2020 season.
Hypothetically, where you talk about your personal complaints or complaints that we were going to see on Twitter at Game five in If there was a seasonable could've built after doing this for, like what? But it would be, Oh, be the near oh, Kenley Jansen socks.
That's what that would be the five game narrative right now because he would have blown a save.
It would have been a little little clothes.
We didn't sweep the Giants.
That would have been another complaint.
Okay, uh, couple runs in, but can't.
We would have been the biggest one, and then fire Dave Roberts would have been another one because it's gonna be residue from last year's Nationals playoff series and then they're gonna ask it.
They're gonna watch him and say, Oh, look at that that rotation.
Look at the way he's pulling pictures right now, which, of course, he's going to do because trying to figure out who can pitch right.
Who's going to be in Jimmy Nelson, who already got injured in the video game two out two months ago? Virtually.
He is out two months.
So the quick, really quick clip but figuring out the rotation And then, Yeah, I think those would be the two biggest themes that you know L.
A Times would have written.
Oh, whereas Kenley, after all this, like mental hardship, Where's he coming in? And then he blows the save and everybody just goes off on him.
And I think by Game four, last night's game, he would been booed or ready.
Now that would been my theory like, I don't think then, yeah, I think fans with it's nothing.
It's a good thing the season isn't having a great but, you know, thank you Hypothetical.
Based on his hypothetic based on a spring training performance, I felt that he looked pretty good.
You know, like it as a stop like we should point out that we all wish the best for Kenley and all of these players.
This is just what we kind of assumed the narrative would be.
That's the exercise with hypothetical complaints.
Oh, yeah, people with the show are like while I was like, I was pretending to be Twitter.
Yeah, exactly, I think, Ah, if you guys remember back in December, I predicted that Kenley Jansen would lose his closing job by June.
So, you know, I think that changes a little bit now.
I think something tells me it changes a little bit.
He technically does not have the closing job right now.
Am I wrong? No one else has made.
They dig in before we could ask him.
Let's dig into a couple of comments.
Most importantly, our boy Eric producer Eric Dodgers, legendary producer.
Spend there for over 75 years.
He's in the stream and he says, Brooke, let's see the hair.
It's dumped it out.
Dump it out, just dump it out.
This is a lot going on, you know? That's just that's supposed to be a lot.
It's a lot longer than it's supposed to be.
It's just the sides of like it is on this side, like it's Oh, yeah, You got the whole, like, one shave inside.
Yeah, it's not good, guys.
Something bad I could bring back. Like my Mohawk.
Everyone needs to follow Eric on Twitter and just give him some love because sometimes at night, when I'm just going through Twitter, I'm like, dude, he needs company, You know, it's a little better.
Better? Ah, silence the notifications on Instagram if you know, because Eric be going live lately.
Eric, Mr B and Eric, depending on where you live, I think you can like, not pay rent tomorrow.
So you gotta check in on that e, uh, going live with like fans, though.
So that's pretty people, everyone, only I think that's what he's been doing because people want to engage with him.
Said he's been doing that, which is pretty cool to see because nobody does that effort.
