The nickel state current owes this very important game for the Southeastern Lines because if they win this game tonight, they will most likely be the conference champions.
Also, they will have Ah, automatic quarter qualifier in the F.
C s playoffs, which is next month.
It will select those playoff buddy.
Um, So let's begin today's show.
Thanks for joining us.
Okay, with sea, we'll put up our Southeastern Press Conference, which is we'll have a coach Frank's cell phone in the press conference.
You'll be talking about this week's game between the lines and the nickel state kernels.
This is a very important.
Like I said, this is the Rebel Belt Classic.
This is played every year.
These two teams are perennial rivalries and stuff like that.
So let's go ahead and go to the break Cell phone Press conference in a in a society.
Uh, thanks for being here, guys.
The, uh, game gets Abilene Christian talk about that.
First, I thought I guys really came out focused.
Play well, especially early.
You know, to be able to score 35 points in the first half on anybody just really on the road.
It really was a great job.
The football were efficient, you know.
There was the wind.
Was a factor, you know, make some adjustments from that standpoint.
Kicking game, also throwing the football.
But I thought our guys adjusted well, we have a trip well, defensively.
I really thought we played well.
I thought the guys play with a lot of energy.
They ran a two quarterback system, so we had to carry in two different game plans, and I think they learned that the super job preparation during the week.
So for us to be able to do it, we did defensively with the sax, 10 sacks, six interceptions.
I'm not sure that tackle for losses, but our guys were running around.
I thought they did a heck of a job once again.
A lot of new faces that are out there playing.
We played 12 freshman in the game and we played the last seven games.
We played between 10 and 15 freshmen every game.
So adept is really starting to shine through and it's good.
Our guys in developing the growing, they're getting better and they were able to use those guys and their effective for us and we're winning with him.
So for us to be able to do that on the road and take care of that.
I thought was, you know, again, just really pleased with that.
We handled the trip.
Well, it was a plane trip, and, you know, we handle that.
Some of the guys never flew before.
They did a good job on that.
And, uh, so it was really productive weekend for us turning around.
Now we got a sharp.
We've got Nichols on Thursday here looking forward to it, Looking for to see Strawberry Stadium packed.
I think the atmosphere is gonna be electric.
I think the student body under the town Hammond everybody's gonna be here.
Typical is gonna bring a great crowd with them.
They're gonna bring, you know, they support their team well and travel well so they'll pack.
Portion of stadium will have our people there.
The lion walked the atmosphere.
I just think it's gonna be a great opportunity for people to see quality a college football and come out here, spend a day, spend the evening and enjoy everything that we got here on campus.
Obviously, it's gonna be a too good football teams, and I really believe that it's gonna be a **** fest.
I think It's gonna be a physical football game between two teams that absolutely I must say that because I've been through the Southeastern Games.
I know howto both those teams play because I'm a tell you.
Every time went South Eastern Nichols plays, I'm gonna tell you it's always a ****.
It's always going to be a slight best.
He's saying the truth.
I mean, what, and make no mistake about it, but they're gonna bring their a game.
They're gonna bring their people from Thibodaux.
Thibodeau, which is, um, I have I have maybe two hours from for me here in New Orleans Ham.
And it's only about made by 45 50 minutes.
But I'm gonna tell you, Look, they're gonna bring their people.
The people in Hammond Southeastern is gonna bring some people a swell.
So, um, let's go ahead and listen to what, uh, code cell phone had to say, but I know what's at stake, but more than that, I love playing the game.
I think it coach.
Three boys got a fantastic job down there, building a program of getting into position where there and talk for the conference championship every year and going to the playoffs every year.
It's just not a one hit wonder, and no matter the parts change, they still gonna be involved in the discussions.
They will pick the win this thing and to begin in a year.
Here they are again. They got a chance to win it.
They got the offensive player of the year and chase for Kate.
They got defensive player of the year, possibly Sally Lash, coach of the year and 10 Rebo team of the year Nickel state.
So I guess I got everything going for him.
We'll go out there and do our best, Do we? Do I? No way will play for 60 minutes.
That part, I can tell you and our guys are gonna play well.
We practise yesterday Price again that they have a small one tomorrow and Wednesday and then get ready to play on Thursday.
But I think the atmosphere, it's not much motivation involved this week.
Everybody knows what's at stake and what we're trying to do and what we need to accomplish, what we need to do to get it accomplished with that.
I'll take the questions, man, Don't worry.
This move is important.
This I heard you.
Yeah, you know, we've been robbed.
All those guys have been playing, you know? So it's done.
Trust me, it's been playing all year.
That award McGee missed a few weeks, but he's been playing Sean Tres Fates Xavier Lewis on Trey Span.
All those guys have been playing.
We just, you know, John Lansing Philando didn't travel and play, but those other guys did.
And, uh, but they've been working all year long.
You know, they've been we would put them in the games.
Sometimes you don't notice everything when they're not making a lot of plays. O r.
They just end for syriza tune and get back out.
Those guys have been growing and developing as the seasons going on, as with all of our freshman, alright, young guys.
And that's what recruiting, you know, when you when you recruit and identify players, then you get in here, you gotta develop, and I think our staff has really done a good job of that.
Not only the the identification and the recruitment of those guys, but you gotta develop, and that's what allows sometimes players way have a tendency to want to put it on the player when he doesn't perform well.
But a lot of times it's a development portion that we miss out on, and I think our staff is doing a heck of a job with that.
Yeah, that's well, hopefully both done will be back.
And whether they started not, we don't know.
But at least they'll provide that force for a number of weeks.
You know, we always talk about They come in Bunches, man, and, uh and they do, You know, you like to get more fumbles.
You, like, get some punch outs and stuff some strips and hits, things like that.
But when the throwing and tell, you gotta catch him.
So it's It's kind of like Orlando earlier.
You know, he's picked sixes and pick six and pick six.
You gotta put yourself in that situation, and so you have to have the knowledge to be in the right spot.
But then you have to make the play when you have a chance to make the play.
We dropped a lot of balls early in the year we were there.
We just didn't make the play.
Now we're making those plays.
We I mean you know Xabi Lewis's catch was, I mean, that's as good an interception you could.
Possibly at Danielle in the end zone.
He was over the top of a deep ball and he just waited on the ball come down.
But he was in position to make that play.
He saw the You know he read the quarterback.
He saw the route, jumped the route and made the plate.
So these guys have put themselves in position and make the play, and you got actually make the play and that's what we did this past week, and that's what I think.
There's a lot more confidence going on.
You know, a lot more confidence that these guys showing right now, you know? I mean, look at what he's done before.
Your start is loaded with experience.
He's He's leading his team again.
Conference champions, defending conference gentlemen's He's lead him again to another great season.
He's having his numbers of fantastic.
He's running, throwing, direct and stuff.
He's a true leader in every sense of the word.
He's what you want, a quarterback position, you know, he's a guy that comes in and takes control of the football team and does the things he needs to do for the team to win.
He is progressively, in my mind from last year. This year.
Gotten a lot better, taking care of the football, making good decisions.
You can see the team play like him.
Hey, fiery, aggressive runs around a lot of energy, things like that.
So I'm sure he's the coach rebuilt, wants back there.
You know you do, Robbie, but you really don't talk about a lot of stuff.
I mean, this game.
There's so much at stake here in this game with the River Belt Trophy, and you know, that whole history and then last game of the year, we're close to each other.
They're gonna come in the day of our guys know their guys Now what's at stake from a conference championship playoff standpoint.
All of those things, but attended.
It's not gonna affect our preparation or anything like that.
We're not. We didn't change anything.
We didn't put up signs, and we don't do all that stuff.
You go to work every day.
You get prepared to do your job on game day, and that's what we're doing so there's nothing special.
It's taking place or anything like that.
We went through the exact same routine that we do every week, and we'll continue to do that the rest of this week as we prepare for Thursday.
We just got a condense it because of the short week.
But other than that, that's we're gonna do exactly what we're doing and get ready to play on site on Thursday.
They're a physical football team that runs a football.
So So they run the ball and come downhill.
Pick their running back.
Uh, He leads the conference in touchdowns, yardage, a couple of different things, But he's a very physical runner.
The offensive line comes off the ball.
They do a great job on play action, and I think Chase does a good job taking care of the football to explosive receivers on the outside.
21 5 gets the number 21 5 One's really long.
Had a huge game this past week against McNeese, so if they've got their weapons in there to skill positions and running back in the quarterback, definitely there the offensive line comes out football.
So there'll be a physical football team.
Well, at the match, the physicality during the course of the game, it's not gonna be a, uh uh We could back football on, you know, just spread it out and chucking it around.
They're not gonna do that.
They're gonna come back.
We're not gonna have to go look for him.
They're gonna be right there in front of us.
They that's that's how they play.
That's that personality.
That's why they all where they are right now.
And that travels Well, it plays well as you get into the playoffs, I think so what? No matter what the weather is or anything like that, that's how they're gonna play last meet you, Williams getting healthy? Did that coincide with this formation? It did. Yeah.
You know, he missed the Northwestern game, and then the week after that was you at W.
And he played very little in that game and he started feeling better in the Magnus game.
And then we had the open date, and it kind of got kind of got wind that opened.
It really helped him.
That was a good time for him.
And I think What you're seeing now is what you saw early in Jacksonville state and Ole Miss and Lamar.
You saw a guy in the open field making people miss where he kind of lost that ability for a little bit as he figured this whole thing out.
So as he got healthy and figured it out, how to play with it then Now you're starting to see him catch the ball in the open field.
We had it back then, returning punts this weekend than that since the injury.
So nice back there returning punts.
So he's back to full speed, ready to go? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, I said to begin in the year, he'll be one of our top receivers.
He's a guy that way.
Got to get the ball to in the open field we got, you know, certain guys gotta get touches and he's one of them.
And you can't just hand it to him 25 times a game or 20 times a game.
We want to hand it to him 10 12 times a game and get banged around, but want to make sure he gets about 15 to 20 touches.
And that means throwing a toe in the open field.
Isolation routes, things like that.
It's got great instincts.
No, he's a smart football player.
That's that's the thing he's.
He's very situationally aware of what's going on.
He's a three down back, which means you can run with the football.
We keep in short yardage because he's a good blocker and he does a great job in protection.
So from protection standpoint, you're not to take him out because they either can't handle it physically or he doesn't understand what's going on.
He could do both of those and then as a route runner.
He's also, you know, he's definitely a threat.
So he's 1/3 down guy for us on the three down back for his value.
When we lost him, those those weeks right there in the middle.
I heard of some offensively and with him back, I think you're starting to see us play a little bit better offensively on.
And as long as teams are backing off, get him the ball out in space, He's been productive.
Yeah, you know, he's just, uh we're talking about earlier.
He's just a dynamic player.
I think he's probably the best defensive lineman in our conference, maybe one of the best ones in SCS.
He's, uh he's explosive.
He's changing direction, being able to slip guys, he's threatened to the backfield somewhere.
He's got to know where he is.
You know whether we have to turn the protection, tow him or run away from him or maybe just run right, Adam.
We could get some combination blocks on it, but he's a guy that he has disrupted.
Did that you could put on every game you want.
He's gonna disrupt those guys.
I think he's a special player, you know? He's from letter.
Uh, he's a guy right here in our own backyard.
You know? I don't want the next selling last to go to Nichols.
I wanted to come here.
It southeast bet on that.
So just just watching them play is really you really want your guys to play like you.
You want to see your team going 11 guys like that run and play with the passion that he does.
They're even even front saying in front.
They gonna play with four down, but they give you odds spacing quarters in the back end.
They'll play man more man on third down, and they do anything else.
From a tendency standpoint, I think they're extremely sound.
They don't disguise a lot.
They know who they are, and they're very good at what they do.
So they go out and play it that they've got a couple of things that they tweak and stuff like that.
But for the most part, it's the front four.
The two linebackers are extremely active, and they run well.
Their team speed overall defensively is really good, and their front four runs well.
But I think they're second ads into the run game that fits of really good.
So they're sound, you know, it's kind of goes back to when you really know who you are and you feel comfortable with who you are.
If you've been in a certain place for a while and develop those players, uh, you don't have to a lot of stuff because those guys be really good at doing it, and that's that's where you see them and what your five, I guess, uh, coach, we both, uh, continue their you know.
Yeah, I thought we got after the quarterback.
You know, I thought the one that was the thrower three.
I thought we got after him pretty good and he threw us a couple of balls and it was way off on a couple of balls, so they kind of felt like they needed to go to um or of a running deal.
And that's when he brought the Wildcat guy and four.
And then we got after him pretty good.
They tried to throw the football more, and that's not what he did, and he kept throwing them, too.
So I think we we did a good job.
In a coverage standpoint.
I thought we did a great job going after enforcing even 10 sacks.
Obviously, it speaks volumes, but even without the sacks, we put a lot of pressure on him and got on the move.
When you get him off this spot with and he wasn't comfortable, throw a lot of times.
That's because of the coverage.
It just wasn't there, so he had to get out and we're putting pressure on it and then them having a go almost strictly with the Wildcat in the second half.
You know, they they struggled with that.
So with him throwing because we loaded the box, then, yeah, this do you know the same? You know, it is the same.
Just it's, you know, you can't get out of whack this game, kid.
This game is no bigger than the last one, and it's not gonna be any bigger than the next one if we have another one.
Because if you got to do what you're supposed to do in this game to take advantage of the opportunity to play in this game, and if you do that, there'll be a next one.
If you don't, it won't. So it's.
And then when this one's always he moved to the next one, just like last week.
And if we don't do it, we needed to do against Abilene.
This game is big because it's the one we're playing.
But the outside stuff, the external things, that's where that part that kind of gets guys out of whack.
You know, it's conference championship, got all of things on there, but it really you go.
It's you on the field again.
Nobody's thinking about a trophy.
When you're playing there better not be better.
Just be thinking about what coverage? We're supposed to be running a play we're supposed to be going supposed to block.
When I read it on all that stuff, that's what we better be thinking about.
And then when you look up at the end of the game, you take a look at the scoreboard and we'll decide if we're supposed to get the trophy.
So we're not approaching any different.
I like I said, there's no motivation speaks for itself and the opportunity to play.
You gotta remember this.
If you really want motivation.
We got 23 seniors and this could possibly their last football game, that they have a play in college.
So if you want motivation, that's it.
It's not gonna be a trophy or ring or something like That's the last time you ever play football and you want to make sure you go out the right way.
So I really love a nice break from the past couple of weeks with challenges of being a short week here.
You know, not nothing different kind of went back to well, I did go back when we played on Sunday when I was in, Jackson played on Sunday.
Turn around playing Thursday.
So we went back and reviewed game plans and stuff like that when you know, now we know the game's gonna be played every 30.
So during the summer is when all the leg work was done for this game for this week and we knew what the schedule is gonna be.
So we didn't wake up Sunday morning, said, Okay, what are we doing this week? All that was done during the summertime.
So we knew walking in here is what we gotta do.
And here's what we're gonna get going from everything from a treatment toe, weightlifting, toe workouts and things like that conditioning.
All those things are already in place.
So we gave the players the schedule on Sunday, yesterday when we met with him.
And you know, we'll we'll go right through with that schedule for the week and we'll be ready to go on Thursday.
Nichols has the same thing.
They're gonna go through the same process and he's been throwing already a few years because I've been playing on Thursday night.
Uh, last year is the first time we did it, and we had an open date prior to this week.
So this the first time we've done it where we play Saturday and turn around play on Thursday, at least for me.
And so we kind of use that model.
Let's see what we wanted to use during the course of this week. Yeah.
What he said in this conference is true. Absolutely.
100% truth, Because what? This team? Sure, they gotta think about the fuel logistics.
Don't worry about the trophy and all that stuff that's gonna come naturally.
That's one thing that's gonna come because what if you have that mindset going out there and thinking about, um, a trophy you're not gonna you're not gonna get anything accomplished like that.
So the thing is, worry about the field, the field logistic to stuff like that.
And don't worry about all the minor stuff that's gonna come.
Look, Sure the fans could do it at the fans and think about a trophy and stuff like that.
That's their right.
That's their right to think about that.
But the truth of the matter is he wants these players motivated, and I'm not worried about, um, minor stuff like that.
So that's my take on it.
Let's begin with our weekly south fishing breakdown.
We're gonna begin.
What? Um, the team starts that.
I see. Whether ranked Southeastern.
We're gonna go ahead and go.
But I was begin scoring offense.
Southeastern in the Southland Conference is right.
Second, they rank, they score 37 points a game.
Nicholas is ranked felt so in the scoring offense, they score 29 points a game.
So I would say this is the thing.
After effects right here.
Southeastern comes into this game.
EJ um, in scoring offense.
Now on the scoring defense.
Let's give you the scoring breakdown, scoring, defensive breakdown.
My mom, my cursor.
This ranked second and scoring defense.
They only give up 23 points.
Seven nickels is our fifth.
They only give up 28 points again.
So that's something right there.
Look, um, I would say Southeastern defensively.
Scoring defense doesn't give up that many points, but Nichols does give up 28 points a game.
Now, Um, let's go over the total offenses Southeastern averaging 474 yards.
That's what, um, they have 49 touchdowns on total defense.
Southeast is ranked number one in the in a conference.
So that's one thing about it going coming into the football game.
Nicholas is ranked six in the Southland Conference.
They averaged 411 yards a game, so that's the difference right there.
So the score on the total offenses, I would say Southeastern.
Look some pretty, um, perfect right there when you look at those scoring offense is so I know the total off its excuse me.
We went over the scoring offense, the ready, the total offenses.
So that's in the conference.
That's in the Southland Conference alone.
Southeastern is averaging 6.
2 yards per game.
Nichols is averaging 6.
1 yard for a game as well.
Let's see, um, let's say that's on 760 plays.
Nichols runs 737 plays in games.
Now the total defects.
Let's give you the total defense.
This is from the Southland Conference website.
Um, Southeastern is ranked second, so you switch over the total defense, the averaging 381 yards a game.
That's on five point to going for a play.
They give up only 27 touchdowns that game, and now the Nichols colonels, um, it's rank six.
They only give up for him and $6 again, so they kind of given up way too many yards in the football games.
So there are six in the conference? Um, they're also averaged 5.
9, so that's 5.9.
So it's kind of high for this defense to give up for the Nichols colonels now rushing, running the running defense run defense.
This is what we're talking about here.
Southeastern, right? Second and run defense? No.
We did that already.
I'm sorry, but that okay, Southeast.
And when you go down to the Rankins, that right six in the conference, they give up 145 average 145 yards rushing in football games on full 1450.1 average.
So they're they're pretty good running the football, not not as good as Nichols, because Nichols is at 189 going to game, and that's 33 touchdowns on the ground.
They averaged 4.
6 yards for a game.
So Nichols coming in as the best run offense in the conference now, um, run defense will give you the run defensive breakdown.
Southeastern it's in the top three that right? Third, they only give up 107.
That's on, UM, 3.
2 yards per carry and want to give up 10 touchdowns.
Nicholas his rank come 6 142 point four.
So they give up, UM, 142 yards a game.
That's 16 touchdowns and averaged 4.1.
So that's kind of way too much, But, um Nichols Runde fat to encounter.
So pass offense, Southeastern shrink, second and past offense.
They complete 275 um, passes out of 400 1 attempt.
They throw the ball.
I'm having a look.
They average, um, so they throw the ball 401 times in a football game, the averaging 328.
The Nichols colonel's.
They could pass now, but, um, they're ranked knife in the art conference.
They complete 186 out of 200 84 passes, the only up nine receptions in games nine receptions and they have 12 touchdowns.
So they don't throw the football, um, simultaneously.
They'll throw the football.
They averaged 222.
Now on the past defense, this is on the defense.
Southeastern is rank eighth.
They give up 273 yards a game that 17 touchdowns on the past.
Defensive side on they are on Lee get 15 and receptions in gains, so Nichols is, um, fit.
So Nichols is pretty good on that pass defense.
So they're in the top five when it comes to pass defense in the Southland Conference s Oh, they will.
They give up 21 touchdowns.
They only give up eight interceptions, so they only have eight interceptions.
In football games, they only they average to 64.5.
No, it's for a game.
So that's in the passing defense of side now.
Southeast is ranked first with a quarterback rating 1 53.
8 Nickels is ranked second with a quarterback rating 1 45.
6 in a football game.
So so that's their ratings right there.
Southeastern has 26 touchdowns, Nichols has 12 touchdowns and gains now passing efficiency defense.
This is what we're talking about here.
Uh, southeast and, um has a rating a 1 23.
1 They give up 17 touchdowns and only, um, get 15 interceptions and games.
Nichols is a thin, the are passing efficiency defense.
They averaged 141 yards a game.
They have 24 touchdown to have seven C 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions in the football game.
So that's your breakdown.
Let's give you their red zone.
Let's give you first down, I'ma go ahead and give you the first down breakdowns.
First downs Southeast is right for for the conference with 24.
1 average, 241 total They have they get most of their first down some B A pass plays 136.
Um, Nicholas is ranked fifth.
What? Um, uh, 21.5.
Mostly, they get there, um, first downs on run place that it's 110 run place and so they'll get first downs on 110 run place.
So that's the biggest concern right there because they have chased Fourcade.
That guy can run.
That's one of the that.
Their premier, um, running quarterback running back candles in this game.
So okay, let's give you the opponents off for sounds.
Selfish is right.
Second in opponents.
First down, they only give up 119 on passes.
Nichols eyes right? Seven.
They they averaging 21.9.
Nick was only gives up on C 126 on pass plays and 96 home run plays.
Now on third down conversions.
That's what we're breaking down here.
Converse is Southeastern.
What? Um, us, Uh, 61 of 144 attempts.
Nichols is first, so they're behind nickels.
56 1st So they will go for third.
They will attempt on third down.
They will go for it all in on third down.
That's one thing about in the football games.
Opponents third downs.
Southeastern ranked third with 35.
3, so they only give up 54 out of 153.
Nichols is ranked fifth.
They give up 54 1 47 on third down.
So that's on the opponent's side on third downs now in fourth down converges Southeastern.
It's right for our 1st 1st I ranked 1st 17 26 That's 65%.
Nichols is C ranked fourth.
So they're in the top four.
There are eight of 14 so they will most likely attempt for down some.
That's, um, likely right there.
I have. They have. They have to do that.
They most likely will.
Now, on the defense's side, Southeastern gives up 9 21 So they write third in that hour here.
Um, let's say Nicholas is right.
Second, they give up eight of 22.
So it's 8 22 for them.
So they kind of give up.
Now on penalties.
This is the main concern right here. Penalty.
Southeastern is right. Seven.
They have, um, 79 penalties for 7 25 Nicholas is right.
Third with 66 penalty.
So they're they're the lease, um, penalized.
Nichols is ranked.
Um, second, they give up an average of 74.
9 southeast and frank six.
They give up an average of 64.9%.
Now, The time of possession this is the time of possessing this is, um where um southeastern the time of possess is starting to get their numbers off.
31 minutes and 36 seconds.
Nichols is coming in and a distant second with 31 minutes and 12 seconds.
So that's kind of, um, what we're talking about now, the turnover margin, this is what we talk about in football games is turnover margins.
Southeastern is right.
A paternal Martin with minus one.
Nichols is ranked behind them with minus five, so they have minus five turnovers in football game.
So this is the biggest some.
This is my, um um my ****ysis if we could go get those turnovers I coach, Um um cellphones, but saying we got to go get him.
We just can't wait for him.
The happen we got to create those turnovers.
We got to eat and get a strip.
I gotta get to eat.
Or, um or, um um, Interception.
I mean, we got way.
When those balls come to us, we gotta catch those balls.
That's that's the big thing right there.
If you're gonna That's the biggest.
Look, we've been dropping balls as a light dropping in a substance.
That's something we got to stop doing it.
Stop throwing, um, dropping and deceptions and, um, and picking him up because that's the biggest George bringing out so good friend out. Great.
But if you get a turnover, um, and you get an intercepted you gotta catch, and you gotta return it.
So So that's the biggest song.
The biggest beside going into this football game versus the nickel steak Cardinals is Thea Turnover Martyrs.
So Okay, let's give it a read soul efficiencies.
Well, go ahead and give you red zone offense.
Southeastern s above late converts 38 of 43.
That's good for 88% said they ranked second in the conference.
I'm off those threats.
So touchdowns 32 only kick six field goals.
So that's perfect.
Now the Nichols Cardinals, they convert 36 of 43.
That's good for 83%.
So they have a date, so they're pretty good on.
Those Are reds on the 50 sees as well.
The nickel steak colonels, um, they have 32 touchdowns as well.
But they, um I say Nick was only, um, 32 touchdowns, but they get, um, they kick C four field goals.
So they only kicked four field goals in their football games.
The Nickel State Colonels.
So, um so let's give it a read sole defense, and we'll we'll go over to the Yom.
Um, Nicholas, um, breakdown.
Okay, Wrestle defense.
Southeast is right.
32 to give up 17 touchdowns.
Ah, in the game.
And they, um Oh, like, um, get 7 10 Field goes out of those red zone chances.
Now, the Nichols colonels on red zone defense, they only give up 38 of 46.
That's about 82%.
They, um they only produce 11.
Field goes and, um and, um and gain.
So that's the biggest we want.
We want to see that red zone.
We want to see those field goals go up.
I mean, sure, they give up 27 touchdowns and the red, so but we want to see that.
We want to see that go up the field goals.
That's in the That's, um, born on their red zone defense.
So Nicholson strike fifth.
It's Southeast and Frank seven.
So that's up right there.
Look, the's stats right here.
These are just breakdown stats.
I'm going to give you the Nichols Cardinals.
Let's give you the nickel.
Colonel's last game they played was against the Mac, the State Cowboys.
Um, they did, um, when that game 34. 20.
So let's give you the breakdown on their game, okay? This is what we'll show you.
OK, this is last week's game up in Thibodaux.
The first Siri's they did kick the field goal.
That was on seven plays, 67 yards.
They made it three nothin.
Nickel scored again on a 55 yard pass play from Chase Fourcade.
Yours made it 10. Nothing.
So the time of possessive was to 21.
That was on the nickel score back.
These scored, um, on Alba.
See, um, it was a kickoff 95 kickoff return.
So it's they got that Nicholas did score.
Um, Jordan Talley had a 14 yard reception that was on fourth.
Four plays in 57 yards and with 17 to 7 and nickel scored on a on um, Dixon D Joan.
Joan had a 55 yard pass play from, um let's say Chase Fourcade two plays, 55 yards that was in that game last Saturday was 24 7 But this this this game right here.
Look, this was a shoot out game right here.
This was an absolute shootout football game.
Because the Mac, these cowboys are not gonna just some lie down and just go away.
Not gonna happen.
Um, Nichols kicked the field goal.
The four second more template 71 yards was 27 to 7.
Maxie's did score.
Um, on a Cody Orgeron touchdown.
Um, five plays, 28 guards was 27 14 identical, scored again.
It was on the 11 play, 88 your drive.
And then Mac needs to score the last touchdown in their in their game.
There was on 11 plate 91.
Two minutes, 31 seconds off the time possession.
309 Which is scoring play time.
So the score was 34 20.
So that was your final 34 to 20.
Let's give you the final stats out of this game, okay? Nickels in that game had 24 1st downs.
The only thing the first down this they got the first round's on was passed place.
That was 12 plants place on the first down conversion.
Um, Nicholas Brand 40 times.
So this this is something right here.
They ran 40 times against the Mac needs some, uh, cowboys.
And I'm gonna tell you.
Look, they're going to run the football.
I mean, they are the number one, um, rushing offense in the salt line complex bore none.
Okay, um, Nick was only through 21 of 36 passes.
That was in the game for 3 74 They had three passing touchdowns.
They have one on the on the ground so that that's their offense.
Total goals of offense.
Um, let's say nickel of state head 555 19.
They had 76 plays in this football game last Saturday versus ah, McNeese Cowboys.
So one thing's for sure what? They're going to use their place.
They're gonna use more than 70 plays in the football game.
They're going to use more than 70 plays.
But yours is the only 0.
So the thing is, we have to make some.
We have to make them punt a lot in this game. Tonight.
We have to get some three and outs in this football game now Tom A possession were given the time of possession.
Tom a possession.
Nichols had the ball for 32 minutes and 48 seconds in the first quarter.
They had the ball for 11 minutes and 31 seconds.
Nickel Santa for seven minutes and 26 seconds in the um, second quarter.
They had it for five minutes and 24 seconds.
So back peace out.
Kept the ball away from him in 1/3 quarter.
And and then, um also, um, Nichols regained the ball, Um, in the fourth quarter.
So that's a top returning situation.
When you look at those situations right now on third downs, both teams with with three, um, had three first time that wasn't even close.
What's even good, to be honest with you, So sure, Nicos Arm was straight for 13.
So that's the biggest cause.
That's the biggest, um, stat, I'm looking at right here.
I read So inefficiency.
Nichols was 45 in a football game last Saturday.
Now we'll give you the stats on that.
Everybody okay? Um, let's see.
1st 1 Julian Gun said 56 yards on $17.
Chase Fourcade had 13 calories for 50 yards.
So that was your two guys can't go busting.
This is another guy, Kendall Busey.
That's that's what it is called the bus.
That's another guy that's gonna be a good player with Nichols colonels now.
Um, the Gene had seven catches, so he made in that pack in the game.
Also rating on his seven catches.
That's while he had a touchdown.
Also, Jordan Talley had three catches for 29.
So you got with you three major guys right there That was making impacts for the young Nicholas ST Colonels in this football game last Saturday.
Births in the Mac, the State Cowboys.
So Okay, all purpose, guys.
Um, was Dixon with 1 85? Uh, yeah.
Dixon 1 85 Dion with, um um with, um 1 19 So that's your main Godric. There.
Now you drive charts will give you the drive efficiency charts.
Okay, let's give you the drive charts.
In the first quarter nickels, Cardinals had a field goal.
Also, I had on the third possession, they had it down, so they went for it on fourth down.
The it was 14 play 68 guards.
They had a touchdown.
There was in the first quarter second quarter that was at the 10 policy, 10 29 more touchdown.
They had two points at the 6 10 mark and also the 3 15 more in the hour football game.
So they had some points.
Now they had the fumble.
This is just was a fumble.
They form of the ball, and I was on three plays and eight yards.
That was at the 509 bar in the third quarter.
They have an interception.
So that was someone to place at eight yards that was sent 3 40 more and a point that was at the 14 42 more.
And then the last such down was that the 5 45 mark in the football game? So that was 5 45 in the football game.
Now they had the point.
That was at the 209 months that was in the fourth quarter.
So So they had some pretty good on those possessions for the Nick was Colonel.
They had some, uh, the head, um, 12 rain, um, for five points in a football game.
So that's one thing about If we could get them to get more plants in this one, I think we can get off the field 1/3 down on.
We'll be okay for So So that's a Dr Torch.
We show you in on football games, so Okay.
The defense of statues.
Look at the defense of stats.
The sack guys for nickel State was this guy right here? Um, Sully.
That's the guy that Coach, um, cell phone was talking about.
He's from lots of high school, so he had two sacks, so don't think for one second that this team won't, um, make impacts in this game.
Well, so So, um, so once again, that's That's the Nichols versus Mac Niece game.
Will give you a box score breakdown on them.
So we'll give you the individual breakdowns.
Go ahead and give you that in the second.
Okay. The running game.
Um, Julian Gum? Yes.
So he's not a guy.
That's gonna be the gum.
An impact for the nickel state colonel.
Now chase four cane.
Jace four k has 11 touchdowns.
So that's one not a guy, right there.
That's gonna be impact Now, Kendall Busey, Kendall Bossy.
They call him the bus.
I hear some two touchdowns, but he's averaging 5.
4 yards for a game.
So So you're gonna have three guys in this football game.
You either gonna have chase for Katie's gonna run with the ball, um, 99% of the time or you will throw with the football.
Now chase Fourcade.
Hey, completes 66% of his passes so he could throw the ball.
What happens now? They don't have the They only have a Nevin and now the quarterback.
But I don't think it's an impact.
Now let's give you the wide receiver corps.
Dixon. We talked about Dixon.
I detonate a pretty good game against some, uh, Mac niece.
I had some three touchdowns, but he's averaging 666 yards on 33 catches.
This is another guy.
Another wide receiver.
He has 25 catches for 502 yards, so he's averaging 20 and 1/2 so that not a guy is KJ Franklin.
He has 24 catches.
Hey also has touched down.
Julian Gums has 19 catches.
He's averaging 8.
Kendall busting Kendall, Bossy.
It's a good wide receivers.
Wow, he's He could catch the ball out of the backfield is Well, I had 19 catches, 112 yards, 5.
9 George for average.
So that's your wide receiver corps for the nickels are colonels.
So these are the guys is averaging double digit catches in football games.
Now that interception leaders, uh, they have, um, eight interceptions.
None was returned, everybody.
I had 11 interception in football game.
So one interception.
The main guy is Georgia Jackson.
That's one of them and ties.
But Smith is also another guy now in the punt returns.
Now the defense of what's going to give you the defense of bum this guy right here, selling list, saying I hear Stent Sack.
So he's the main guy that's going to be the biggest, um, pass rusher on this football team that's gonna make next to this guy.
Um, Alan Pittman has to, um, Sacks.
Also a Quintus state has, uh, let's say 2.
5 also, um, Brandon Fight No hits two and 1/2.
So they got some good pass rushers that's going to get to the quarterback for the nickel state kernels.
So, um, that's that's the, um, staff breakdown of bum of nickels.
Um, last week they did defeat, um um, Abilene Christian 35 14.
So both teams are going to be competing for the conference championship tonight.
The running game for the Southeastern lines on the advice of the Monty Williams with 97 carries.
Where are six touchdowns? Tamron.
Kelly has, um, eight touchdowns.
See, um, Marcus Cooper has two touchdowns.
Um, Jason Burr. Joe.
He's one of the quarterback.
He has some one touchdown open run.
Um, so but Jason Burger, with quarterback wise, he some has 17 touchdown.
Also, Co Kelly s.
Oh, make no mistake about it, they won't.
They will switch their quarterback.
They will put two quarterbacks in if they have to.
So that's something right there.
If you're going out the hammer tonight or you listening to the game on the radio watches on ESPN plus or CSC and you have to consider.
So now let's give you the wide receiver breakdown.
He has 53 receptions, Williams says 47 receptors for Let's see two Touchdown Branch's branches sway Bo.
This is another guy that's going to be the biggest impact with his line football team.
Also Austin Mitchell as well, and Jon Bon Connors and our Marcus Cooper in this game.
So I look at it this way.
This is going to be a very good football game.
So, um, make the mistake about it.
It's gonna be some points scored in this football game without a child, but now it's gonna be some point scored in this football game.
But, um, in the end, I think it's gonna be a very close football game.
Um, if he acts meek because look, every time these two teams play and I know I know firsthand because I've been there watching those games and and these two teams absolutely and press the hell out of me after a while because they put up some points.
Sometimes they date, they will score.
They were score and they will score big.
Same thing with Southeastern, our team.
They will score big.
So, um, just make them a stick by that 35 to 14.
Um but weapon by, um, the Lions way Sweet Wasit.
Same thing with Nichols game beating back these cowboys.
So desu teams are equally matched.
That's one thing about they're equally matched in football games.
So, um, make no mistake about it.
