Hey, everyone, thanks for tuning in in this stream.
I am going to be giving my M b A playoff predictions based off of the predictions that I just did my last two videos on the Eastern Conference standings and Western Conference standings.
So I'll give you guys about a minute or so to let a few more people come on with The stream right now shows there's only two people, so a lot.
All right, when you get into it before I do, though, I just want to remind you guys go ahead and interact with me if you have any questions about anything I'm talking about, or if you disagree with maybe who the winner of a playoff matchup is going to be, let me know like to talk to you guys, interact with you guys a little bit.
That's what makes this so fun.
Makes this SportsCastr platform so fun is the interaction element of it, So go ahead, feel free to do it.
I would really enjoy that.
So please do all right, let's get into it.
So in the playoffs, in the first round in the Western Conference, I have the number one Denver Nuggets going up against the number beat Dallas Mavericks.
So obviously, the Nuggets will have home court in this one.
In this matchup, I have the Nuggets winning this one in six games.
The Nuggets are not as good of a number one seed as you would typically have.
I been adamant that they are a great regular season team just because of the death that they have.
But once you get into the playoffs, it becomes who has the best player and who has the best two of the top three players or so.
And in this matchup the Nuggets have.
They have the best player in Nikolay Yokich, followed by the Mavericks, who have the second and third best player.
But after that, the Nuggets have so many other players that are better than any other players.
The Mavericks have that.
It just it's overwhelming.
The Nuggets are going be too much for a very young Dallas Mavericks team, or at least their two stars are really young.
Where Luca don Kitchen Kristaps, forcing.
It's it's gonna be really good for them just to get a taste of the playoffs.
Playoffs is a completely different atmosphere, than the regular season.
The stakes are elevated so much so it's definitely going to be a good experience for the Mavericks and for their two stars.
But I don't see them advancing past the first round.
I see them losing the Nuggets.
So the Tuber seven spot the Tuber seven matchup between the number two Utah Jazz and the number seven San Antonio Spurs.
I have the Jazz winning this one in six games, and these games between the Nuggets and Mavericks, the Spurs and Jazz and the rest of the matchups in the Western Conference, the Western Conference playoffs.
We're going to be so fun the wash.
They're going to be so competitive.
I don't think they're going to be really any or I shouldn't say anything.
Probably be one or two blowout games, but for the most part, it should be really competitive in each series, regardless of who the matchup is.
Just because the West is so stacked at the eight teams that do make the playoffs are going to be really good, and it's going to be a pretty even match up across the board.
But in this matchup between the Jazz and the Spurs, I'm taking the Jazz and six games.
I don't think that the Spurs have enough firepower to combat that.
Jazz is offense, which year in and year in and year out is among, if not be best defensive team in the n B A.
Quin Snyder does a phenomenal job with that group, giving them to play really hard defense, every single gain.
And I don't think that I don't think that it's gonna be any different this year, even with the addition of Boy on Bogdanovich, who is kind of an underrated defender.
I think he's a little bit better of a defender than people give him credit for.
Not a great defender, but again.
Like I said in my stream, going over my Western Conference standings, predictions, the Jazz or just a whole every player that's been assembled is just a ton of underrated players.
Rudy Go Bear is maybe the one exception where he's a great defender.
Other than that other than its rim protection, he doesn't give you a whole ton on offense.
All they see he is 7172 and really long so we can finish at the rim.
But other than that Donovan Mitchell is someone who has been counted out time and time again.
He was the 14th overall pick.
I believe, in his draft class, when he should have been much higher.
Mike Conley has never been an All Star before in his career, and that just is bad luck with him.
Being in the Western Conference is whole life.
If he had been in the East, he'd probably have at least one or two playoff nods on his resume.
Same thing with Joe Ingles, who, when you look at him, you think of these arrests of three point shooter.
No, he's a three and DIY type player, and he is a very underrated defender and a very good defender, too.
I like what the Jazz have.
I like it better than what the Spurs have.
The Spurs have a point guard in Deante Marine Shooting Garden DeMar DeRozan, who either refused to shoot threes or just cannot shoot them to fishing efficiently, kind of mixture of the two.
And for that reason, I just don't think that Gregg Popovich, in his incredible ability to coach, is going to be enough to overcome the Spurs lack of talent and lack of fit in today's modern N B A.
Versus a Jazz team that's really talented.
So I have the Jazz advancing the semifinals.
Nuggets advancing to the semifinals.
Who were the Jazz gonna play in the semifinals? They would be playing the winners between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Clippers are the three seed in this scenario.
The Portland Trail Blazers are the six seed I have the Clippers winning this one in six teams as well.
I think this is gonna be a really competitive Siris.
This is the Clippers kind of getting the Blazers back for a few years ago when the Clippers probably would have beaten the Blazers.
But Chris Paul and Blake Griffin both got injured in that Siri's think DeAndre Jordan might have to, but anyways, I know the Clippers are much different team now, but Doc Rivers was the coach back then.
He's the coach now.
Damian Lillard is going to do everything he can.
He's going to have some heroics in this series.
I'm sure maybe he'll even have a game winning shot, but in the end, it's just not gonna be enough.
The Clippers are just too good, and they they might be the best team in the Western Conference.
I really think the two L A teams are the best teams in the West.
It's just during the regular season for the Clippers.
We've already seen him resting.
Paul Jordan sure is going to get some games to rest, so they're not interested in getting the number one overall seed.
If they were, I think they'd have a really good chance at it.
Their goal is not to win the West in the regular season.
Their goal is to win the West in the playoffs, but in the playoffs against the Blazers.
Yeah, I have them being the Blazers and six.
So for the Nuggets, Jazz and Clippers, they all close out their series on the road.
And that's kind of a trend for the Western Conference because the last match up the number five Houston Rockets versus the number four Los Angeles Lakers.
I also have the Lakers closing out the Rockets and six, which would mean in Houston.
I've said it adamantly throughout that the Houston Rockets experiment of Russell Westbrook and James Harden.
It will work in the regular season work well enough, But once they get to the playoffs, that's not going to be enough.
I think the matchup between the Rockets and Lakers is gonna be pretty fun.
Danny Green's gonna be spending a lot of time on James Harden.
Danny Green is one of the smartest perimeter defenders in the n B a.
So Keith and create tougher matchup for James Harden.
Or he's gonna have to work harder to get his points.
But I think the ultimate downfall for the Rockets is just going to be the dynamic between Russell Westbrook and James Harden of who gets the ball on who takes the shots under pressure.
They both are going to feel like it should be them, and I think it's going to lead to them just really struggling to to win in the playoffs, and they're going to end up losing in six games.
The Lakers I have the Lakers moving on to the semifinals in the Eastern Conference.
Orlando Magic number eight seed, taking on the number one seeded Philadelphia 70 Sixers are hell folds on the Magic and be trying to get some revenge against the Philadelphia 76 ers team that he's made statements before feeling like they didn't completely.
They didn't completely back him on everything that he did.
So I'm sure he's gonna have some extra motivation.
But in the end, it's not gonna matter.
The Sixers Air way, way better of a team than the Orlando Mattrick.
And I'm saying the Sixers, we're gonna sweep the Magic.
So even though it's not in six, I sell of the Sixers winning on their opponents floor, so it's five for five.
This next matchup is finally a matchup where the team that wins the series wins on their home port between the number seven Atlanta Hawks and the number two Milwaukee Bucks Hawks coming in at the number seven seed.
I think they're a little bit ahead of schedule when they drafted Trey Young last year on the draft of John Collins there before, they were thinking it was gonna take probably another year or two to get the playoffs than this year.
But I do think they make the playoffs this year.
Trey Young has looked like a superstar so far this year.
Thing is gonna come back down to Earth a little bit, sucks that he sprained his ankle, but luckily he should be back and not too much time from now.
But for the Bucks, they're just too good when it gets to the playoffs.
So much of it is dressed who has the best player and as good as Frey Young is going to be this year.
He is nowhere near the player that Jonah Santana combo is.
Trey Young is a great offensive player.
Doesn't really do anything on the defensive side of things.
You honest? I said when I was talking about the Bucks in my Eastern Conference predictions that the honest isn't going to do as much defensively because he's going to have to carry the huge workload on offense in the playoffs, where the games are spread out a little bit more and you can pace yourself a little bit more.
Also, it's the playoffs.
You're not saving your energy for anything else.
It's you need to make sure you win in these games.
I think Johannes is going to be a terror against the Bucks on defense or against the Hawks on defense, and Ducks are gonna end up winning this and five.
But again, Hawk should have a lot of stuff.
Be proud of a lot of good building blocks for the future, and their future definitely looks very bright.
Next up, I have the Boston Celtics number six seed taking on the number three seeded Brooklyn Nets.
This is gonna be a fun matchup if it comes to fruition, because Kyrie Irving is gonna be going up against his old team, the Boston Celtics going be going up against the player that the Celtics brought in to replace him after he left.
And Kemba Walker said it before hiring.
Irving is a much better player than Kemba Walker, but in terms of locker room dynamics, Kemba Walker fits with that Celtics team a lot better than Kyrie Irving did.
This is gonna be a fun Siri's right down to the end.
I think Kyrie Irving is goingto have at least two monstrous games, and this one and at least one of them is going to come in Boston.
He's going to want to show the fans not necessarily what they're missing, because he was the one who decided to leave.
But it didn't end well between Boston and him, and he's gonna be looking to make sure that they remember how good he is.
And in the end, I have the Nets winning in seven games.
They're going to have home court for the seventh deciding game.
It's gonna be a really close game, but I have the Nets winning a nail biter in Game seven, and this will be the best.
Siri's out of the four Siri's in the Eastern Conference, maybe even all of the eight Siri's in the first round of the playoffs, regardless of the conference.
Next up, this is another one that should be a really good Siri's, the number five Miami Heat and the number four Toronto Raptors.
So this one is one that the Raptors should be.
I guess depending on who you talk to, maybe overperforming getting in at the four seed.
But I have the Raptor winning this one in six games, so this will be one in Miami and the Heat.
All of the positive things I said about them, how this is Jimmy Butler's team, and they fit really well around him.
They do, but it's just not gonna be enough.
The Raptors have championship pedigree that the Miami Heat don't I like what Pascal see, Jacome should be able to do in this matchup.
Just because I don't think that he'd really have anyone that can truly guard him.
They might put bam out of bio on him, but that's gonna be a tough covered for him.
Jimmy Butler is too small.
The guard Pascal Siac.
Um And then they have Kyle Lowry, who's gonna be able to guard probably Goran Rocket or if the Heat trade for Chris Paul be able to shut him down.
Raptors are still a really good defensive team.
They also have Marcus Saul, Serge Ibaka, Fred Band lead.
We know what he's gonna be able to do in the in the playoffs.
He showed us what he could do last year.
So it's gonna be really fun.
Toe wash them, play together.
And, yeah, I have the Raptor winning this in six.
So second round I have the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Denver Nuggets.
So this is the Western Conference again.
And the Nuggets present a big challenge with Nicolle Yokich because the Lakers don't really have anyone who can guard him.
JaVale McGee is pretty light for a center, even though he is athletic.
Dwight Howard is someone who is very athletic and in really good shape.
But he's not very big.
He's he's muscular, he's ripped.
But he is not big and someone that can hold his own against someone As Bigas Nikolay Yokich, Anthony Davis struggles historically against bigger players like Nickel Yokich.
Just because Davis isn't exactly he's a big man, but he's not.
He's not wide like Nikolay.
Oh, Kitchen just doesn't have the same type of girl that Yokich does.
So I actually think that the way that the Lakers combat, they're kind of mismatched going up against nickel.
Yo, *****es, I would expect them to actually put LeBron James up against nickel Yokich.
By doing so, LeBron is big enough to wear Nikolay Yokich can't completely body him, will probably be able to body him a little bit, but he won't be able to body him the way that nickel Yokich is accustomed to doing So.
And more importantly, by putting LeBron on him, you take away Nikolay Yokich is best asset, which is him being able to put the ball on the ground and create for on the court and create for others.
If he plays up in the high post replace up at the top of the key.
LeBron James couldn't be up on him.
Be swarming him on defense toe wear.
Yokich can't put the ball on the court because LeBron's gonna be right there, playing really tough defense.
LeBron will be able to recover to cause Yokich won't be able to blow by him the way that he can against big men when they're guarding him.
And then you have Anthony Davis come over as the help side defender so that if yoga trust take him into the post or if he tries to get any lay ups, you have Anthony Davis there to help out, and you haven't cheating off of Paul Millsap or whoever the Nuggets starting for is so.
That's how I think the Lakers combat the Nuggets and their advantage on the later side of things.
Nuggets don't have anyone who can guard Anthony Davis or LeBron James.
They can try throwing Paul Millsap at LeBron.
Try throwing Michael Porter Jr at LeBron if he does get in better rotation, but I just don't see how they're gonna be able to slow down the two of them and I have the Lakers winning this one in six.
So closing it out in Denver, which will be a pretty tough task, but I see them doing it.
The number three Los Angeles Clippers taking on the number two Utah Jazz, either Clippers winning this one, pretty handedly.
Four games to one again.
If the Clippers were trying to get the number one seed in the regular season, I think they could do it.
They have the depth and the talent up top.
I've talked about how in the playoffs it really matters who your best players are and who has the best players and this match up.
The Clippers have the two best players.
There's no one on Utah's team that is close to a CZ good as Kawai Leonard and no.
One that is as good as Paul George.
I think Donovan Mitchell, especially by the time the playoffs come around, he might be in the same discussion as Paul George is for us, caliber of player, but he will not be as good as Paul George and you combine that with the death that the Clippers have, even with how good the drives are, I just don't see the drive's being able to knock off the Clippers.
I, the Clippers winning this one.
Next up in the Eastern Conference, I have the Toronto Raptors number four seed Raptor taking on the number one seeded Philadelphia 70 Sixers either six or is winning this one in five.
Kind of a little bit of revenge for last year on the Raptor, knocked off the Sixers and seven games.
I know there's no Kawai, Leonard, No Danny Green.
So not quite a sweet, but Sixers do get their revenge.
Sixers were just too good.
I've said so many times.
There are different tears in the Eastern Conference and the Sixers in Bucks are the first year the top tier in the Eastern Conference.
And then there's a big drop off to the next here, so Sixers win this one pretty easily.
They went in five.
The number three seeded Brooklyn Nets in the number two seeded Milwaukee Bucks out of the box, winning that one in five.
To I think that I would hope Kevin Durant is and playing in the Series I and that's not because I don't like Kevin Durant.
I love watching him play, but ruptured Achilles.
Just give him a CZ much time it's possible it doesn't make any sense to have him come back and try to re introduce himself to basketball and playing with his team for the first time on a new team right on the playoffs.
Start right when the intensity ramps up and when he's gonna be asked to do so much coming off of such a debilitating, debilitating injury, it doesn't make any sense.
So I'm not expecting him to play.
I hope he doesn't.
I just want them to be healthy for next year, and I have the box winning this one in five going to the conference finals.
So we get the Lakers Clippers matchup, which I know a lot of people.
Unless you're fans of other playoff teams in the West, we're all looking forward to that in the conference finals were just.
If we need at some point in the playoffs, that would be a really fun matchup.
So in this I have Lakers of the four seed Clippers or the three seed, so technically the Clippers are the have the home court advantage and they'll have home court in games 125 and seven.
But it's in Staples Center doesn't matter either way.
But I have this one.
Look for full disclosure.
I am a Lakers fan, so might be a little biased, but I have the Lakers winning this one in seven, I said before the Lakers and Clippers played in their first game.
I don't want overreact to much to one game.
I know Paul George wasn't on the Clippers Lakers in Never Kyle Kuzma either, And the Lakers and the Clippers were both figuring out how to play together.
Dwight Howard looked.
He's looked better with each game and he didn't look that great against the Clippers.
But he has become just in a matter of the past week.
He has been playing a lot better and he's been playing a lot more fluid.
His motions have been a lot more fluid, and I think that he could be a real difference maker for a Clippers team that a weekend of the season there, 29th in the league and rebounding.
That's how the Lakers killed them.
I don't think that the Clippers have an answer for Anthony Davis.
The Lakers were gonna figure out how to utilize Anthony Davis best over the course of the season, and by the time the playoffs come around, it's gonna be really tough for the Clippers to stop Anthony Davis.
He's gonna be a bigger problem for them.
That them then LeBron James.
Obviously, Andre Good dollar is the wild card in all of this.
If he goes to the Clippers, I take the Clippers in that matchup because that's another defender to go up against LeBron James and the Lakers perimeter players.
Another guy to wreak havoc.
But if he goes the Lakers, that really helps the Lakers.
That's not just another perimeter defender.
That's another veteran presence that's smart.
Been to multiple five n b a Finals.
So knows how to get the job done and is also another ball handler and someone who can create for other players, too.
So that would be a big get for him Right now.
I'm not a simply he's on either team just because who knows? That really does sound like it's down to either the Lakers of the Clippers and according to Jackie MacMullan, she had a report not too long ago that said that it was basically $100 once he gets bought out, assuming he does and talking what he does, that he's going to the Lakers and makes sense.
I'm 99% sure Rob Pelinka is this former agent, so that would make sense.
But right now I'm saying, no, you would all on either team and I'm still taking the Lakers to beat the Clippers in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks versus the Sixers.
I think both of these Siri's go seven games, and in the Eastern Conference finals, I have the Sixers beating the Bucks and seven games, the Bucks losing Malcolm Brogdon.
It's just a really big blow going up against six years team that they're gonna have to figure out how to guard you.
Honest, though, because they can't have Al Horford guarding him.
We saw what you honest did against Al Horford and the Celtics last year.
I would actually say Ben Simmons would make a lot of sense guarding him, and then you have to figure out if you want to change up your lineup a little bit, or else you have to figure out someone else for Al Horford, regard someone else for Tobias Harris, the guard.
But that's gonna make the most sense for me.
six were still are going to be a really good defensive team and offensively, the Sixers, although they don't have quite enough shooting, at least in my opinion, to win the championship, which kind of gives away the Finals matchup.
But I do think they have enough to beat the box.
So I have them beating the Bucks and seven games.
And that sets up an N B, a finals matchup that is a rematch of the 2001 MBA Finals, when the Lakers beat the Sixers in five games.
This one Lakers aren't gonna beat them in five games, but I do have them beating the Sixers and six games and being the MBA champions Sixers.
They don't match up extremely well against this Lakers team.
And as soon as the Lakers want to bring Anthony Davis to the five and bring LeBron to the four late the six years after, figure out what they're gonna do because you can't have Al Horford guarding LeBron James, you're gonna be in some real trouble.
You can't put Ben Simmons on LeBron James and then that Al Horford tried to guard someone else because who else is he going to guard.
Is he going to guard Kyle Cosmo? That wouldn't make sense.
Is he going to guard Danny Green? No, because then he's gonna have to be tracing him off screens chasing around the court.
Green's gonna have a lot of open shots.
Is he in the guard? Whoever their starting point north is, whether it be Avery Bradley or outs Caruso.
I hope it will be Caruso by then, but who knows? That would probably make the most sense if they had to keep him on the court and have him guard someone else besides LeBron James.
But then to the day the Sixers do have people that they can throw it.
Anthony Davis, though, to make his life difficult, whether it be Joel Embiid and or Al Horford but LeBron James if Ben Simmons is on them, Okay, well, who's guarding Kyle Kuzma? I just think of them to the day Lakers end up winning this gonna winter than six Lakers and six, eh? NBA champions 2020 MBA champions.
And so that does it for all of my season predictions for the N B.
So much for tuning in.
